Friendly staff, very good food, a wide variety of beers. My wife had a gluten-free meal (nachos) and I very tasty mussels. Very nice !

Great place for a meal and to unwind for awhile. Fantastic staff who offered awesome service. Very friendly and nothing was a problem. Thanks for allowing us to watch the AFL grand final and for the lift back to our van. Awesome food (which we had way too much of) and great vibe. Much appreciated!

Good value food. Served by a very helpful Devonian young lady. Furniture is a little tiered. Would recommend if you are in town.

Had the best nachos for lunch today. Ordered the jumbo size to share and we still couldn’t finish it as it was huge. Very delicious. Place was just a pub: nothing fancy but ok.

We popped into the Madeira as one of our stops on a hens do last weekend and it was great!! Staff were amazing and very accomodating of the celebrations! Winston was unreal and made a great cocktail. Stoked with a free ride home in the courtesy van, we’ll be back for the rugby this weekend!!

My daughter and I booked a table but had doubts about the place when we arrived and found the restaurant completely empty. Despite this, we felt quite at home and the staff could not have been more friendly. It turned out to be one of the best meals of our entire trip and reminded us not to judge anything just by first appearance.

Wandered in just after opening on a Sunday afternoon of holiday weekend. Great staff very knowledgeable on drinks and food. Good selection of food options and every drink you could think off. Went with burger and was not disappointed. Smokey bacon burger was amazing. Mrs W had the pazzguts salad and was impressed. The beer garden on a fine day was most pleasant. Would visit again.

Running late into town, we pulled into the pub, asking if we could possibly get a meal, not only did the staff go out of their way to help up, being a first time traveller there, they made us feel welcome and quite at home considering the kitchen was closing. The meals and entrees were fantastic, and the bar staff were so helpful. Thank you for such a great experience

I had low expectations but this was a solid place for dinner in a town without a ton of options. No water views, but they had a comfortable garden in the back. Cheerful bar staff. Husband was so pleased with his spicy chicken sandwich that it was gone before I could taste it. It came with good chips (french fries) - but their ketchup is tomato sauce so it's a bit sweet for an American. I got the bao bun and really thought it was delicious. I also got the salad with cranberry, goat cheese, and grilled halloumi on top. The halloumi was great, rest of salad OK. We were having trouble choosing a place to eat in Akaroa and I'm glad we chose this place since we are fairly particular and the food was quite tasty.

Although the pub & restaurant were both full the staff were very accomodating & organized a table for us. Lovely building, wonderful friendly service & really good food. We all had the cod; both battered & pan fried, both were superb. Highly recommended.

Tonight we had the best experience at this local wee hotel. The staff are all super friendly and we all thd the best meals (5). My husband's rear steak was the best he said and the sizes of the meals were incredible. Thanks team, this will be a go to for now on. We're regular visitors to Akaroa. See you next time.

When other venues in town decided that 19.50 was too late to be serving food, the staff here were only too pleased to help. Friendly staff, good service and food.

Decent feed for a good price, friendly staff, the German girl that always wears the baseball cap gets more attractive the more you drink and always happy to make you a seafood or snack basket as long as they're serving booze no matter what time of the night! Live Music and weekends usually sees this place pretty busy as well as live sports! all round, top banana 🍌
