Nice strong coffee. Plenty of sunlight coming through thanks to the building orientation and glass sides. Indoor and outdoor options available.

Great food options and it's delicious. The waiters kindness, patience and politeness is lovely to be around. It is a quiet and is a peaceful place and it is very clean. Definitely recommend going there.

ORDERED: Columbus Breaksfast & Eggs Benedict. Cooked both well and good portions of food. The service was great we had our youngest son (1yr) and the morning was crisp so a staff member came and closed some folding doors to stop the breeze. This is what makes good service. Will definitely come here again.

Its a typical columbus cafe set up with a soothing relaxing atmoshpere eventhough its in the mall. I ordered mushroom toast and mocha. The mushroom toast could have been a bit creamier. If you are looking for a bit relaxing atmosphere once you done shopping this is the place to go.

Cafe has a great view if you would like to get away from the food court inside the mall, ordered a salmon eggs benne with extra salmon and it is beautiful

Loved the mocha! It was perfect for a cold rainy day with that velvety chocolate taste to it. Yum! My flat white was beautiful as well. I guess this is going to be me and my partner's new coffee spot🙂

Come here often and it's always great. Today the staff were very friendly and wonderful to chat with, the food and drinks were amazing and we had a good time. Hope the staff all know what a great job they're doing 😊

Seafood chowder was nice although the sauce was nice could have had a bit more seafood instead of mussels, but enjoyable

A hidden germ in Albany Westfield Shopping Center. The restaurant is outside the food court with open view. Love the atmosphere. Good coffee and yummy food.

Food was average, got one of our meals wrong so had to wait ages for them to re make it, wasn’t awful but wouldn’t come back

This was probably the worst eggs benedict Ive ever eaten. The whole meal was a total disappointment.<br/><br/>Where do I even start, at $19 it was not worth my money. The slices of ciabatta was small and chewy. The eggs were over cooked. They were so frugal with the smoked salmon slices. There was only two meagre slices. The heat from the eggs completely cooked the smoked salmon and as a result ruined the texture of the smoked salmon.<br/><br/>This was a terrible meal and the worst feeling was I felt like I had wasted stomach space on such a disappointing meal.<br/><br/>The pancakes needed three times as much maple syrup as what was provided. The pancakes were also too dry.<br/><br/>Needless to say, I would not come back here and I do not recommend this particular Columbus Cafe with a passion.<br/><br/>Needless

This is my favourite Columbus Coffee. The team are super friendly and helpful. I like the outside decked area, great on a sunny day. Great choice of cabinet food. My partner gave 10/10 for the coffee today :)

Extremely disappointed. The staff are friendly and attentive but the food was a let down. I ordered the Paleo Bowl which - for some reason - came out after 35 minutes on a plate and held half a sliced tomato, quarter of an avocado, two small mushrooms and not even a handful of spinach leaves. As I was hungry I added chicken for an extra $6 which was definitely under 100grams worth and an over priced potato rosti. The meal definitely over promised and under delivered and I know I could have gone anywhere else to spend over $30 to have a better meal. Wouldn't reccomend.

Sadly the columbus breakfast we ordered was dry and underwhelming. No real care taken and a bit overpriced considering what you can get at other cafes for less.<br/><br/>Coffee was great, which improves the rating. But don't come here for the food.

I’m sorry, but this was such a no on so many different levels for me. I am such a huge fan of brunch and Columbus Coffee absolutely butchered it for me. The smoothies tasted off, the pulled pork eggs benny tasted like baked beans on a freezer to oven hash brown and their hotcakes can only be described as depressed wannabe McDonald’s hotcakes. Service was below average to say the least. We needed to check in with them about three times about our drinks, which were finally brought out to us once we had finished eating. None of the waiters were particularly friendly and seemed like they would rather be anywhere else than where they were. Good luck guys.

AMAZING service always fresh stuff an omg the deserts opa....a must for people want to get a feel of something special. Yammy pastry. Decent coffee. Had fun people watching.

Really good coffee (of the regular espresso/latte kind) and and a nice cozy interior with the sound of the Espresso machine and the tinkle of cups in the background and quick, good service.

Had brunch here today and was very disappointed. We ordered two burgers and even though it took a long time to get them, the meat itself was extremely tough, tasteless and probably heated up in the microwave. On top of this our ice chocolates came when we were nearly done with the meal and they were also not very appetising. Wouldn't recommend

Waited about 15 minutes if not longer for 2 coffees. When they finally arrived they were terrible. One wasn’t even warm and tasted like milk. Other one was hot and tasted like hot water. Really need a new barrister.

We love the Columbus in Mitre 10 but this one lets Columbus down. The shop was cold like they were trying to save power, and when we received our eggs on toast we only received one toast no butter and they charged us $4 extra for a piece of toast. The Columbus in Mitre 10 always gives us 2 toasts butter and jam, we wont be going back to the westfield one.

Ordered the big breakfast which i believe was $22. Reasonable price tad expensive for what you get. The customer service was a bit odd, it was a wednesday morning seemed fully staffed behing the counter but no one on the floor. While I was looking at the menu on the stand, I heard the staff say 3 Good Mornings, not to me though as i was approaching the counter but to each other. So I said hello and took my order.<br/>The girl seemed in a rush as she didnt the<br/>My partner and I decided to take a seat outside as it was a beautiful anzac morning and we wanted to hve breakfast somewhere nice before heading off to work. There were 3 umbrellas, but only one was open. I asked the same girl if she could please open it for us as the sun was so bright which she informed us that they were broken.<br/>Breakfast was standard, lack of seasoning but thats okay. Nothing bad about the food or orange juice that i ordered.<br/>What surprised me as that after I left we walked into the mall to have a look around and walked straight back out as to my surpise I saw the umbrellas were all open. Wow.

Unfortionatly the worst columbus i have been to. The service was ok but what happened to columbus priding itself on their cabinet food? I had a filo that tasted dry and a week old. My vienna came in a latte glass with chocolate on top when its standard to come in a tulip with cinnamon on top. Not impressed columbus is meant to be the same standards in every store.

Had a lovely experience at Columbus. Been going here for 3 or so years and never disappointed. Coffee is delicious and food is worth the price. The outdoor area makes it perfect to enjoy a cup of coffee in all weather conditions and kids are entertained by the toys supplied. Staff are friendly and work hard to make sure you get your order on time. If you need a quick coffee run or a sit down lunch be sure to head over there.

I'm a regular customer at this cafe coming here almost everyday and I am confident to say that a lot of the negative comments on here are not true, the girls are always happy to greet me and others and the service is super fast, I'm only assuming the people that dislike it here came on a very busy day and didn't get the excellent service this cafe usually provides, was very disappointed to read all the negative comments about my favourite cafe and am hoping people do try this place out as the coffee is just great<br/>

I have been a customer of Columbus for two years now, sometimes going in 4 times a week usually great coffee and great service but my last few visits I haven't received any greetings, I've had to wait 40 minutes for my coffee and received a 'coffee' just covered in chocolate powder it was undrinkable and not my usual order which they are familiar with my usual order as being a regular customer. I've been ignored by 'maddy' the supervisor who refuses to serve me for no reason. Completely unprofessionally and UN welcoming I have now started going to Tirana across from it whom have amazing coffee and service.

Always have really average service from the staff. No smiles. Seems like they don’t want to be there type of attitude. Food is pretty average. A little over priced too.

I learned a lesson that most cafés close on Sundays but Columbus Coffee was open so HOORAY for that! I got a raspberry chocolate cake and some coffees. The cake was very sweet and moist but I only had one actual raspberry on top of it so I wish there were more raspberries inside maybe? Just to even out the strong chocolate sweetness. I also didn't really like the foam presentation of my flat white. I don't expect too much from chain cafés but I had a good time and got a nice picture :)

My second time here ...Great location ,,,but the staff and the food don't live up to the location !,slow and unhappy wait staff,/and very small portions end very big prices for average food !,,,,

I have had good experiences and bad. The wait time was ridiculous, as we were waiting over half an hour for cabinet food when people who ordered after us were getting meals off the menu. Also the waitress, dropped our cutlery and said she would bring a new set for us but never did. On the bright side the food was alright :)

My partner and I went here as we had a two for one coffee voucher. It did the job, we got in the door and gave them a go. So we ordered two coffees and a bowl of chips, the chips and coffee were fine, to be honest nothing to fault there. Our chips turned up within 5 minutes which was great. Our coffee, it took 25 minutes, we gave them a good chance, in the end we asked for them in a takeaway cup and left. The staff seemed like they didn't really want to be there.<br/><br/>Their marketing got us in the door but the service let us down.

Service horrible . Made to feel in the way! Coffee too hot . Staff rude . What more to say? Avoid at all cost there's better cafes in Albany than this. Regret giving them my money!!!

The service was slow, the coffee was very average, the eggs were dry, never coming here again. It was cold outside, not a lot of room inside, but staff didn't think to lower any off the outside blind thingies.

Rude staff & worst service ever. Coffees were so hot to hold in takeaway cups and tasted burnt. Got a rather rude response when I asked for a new one made. We've been here about 10 times over the past 3-4 years and have always noticed bad customer service but today was the worst. The manager needs to teach the staff customer service. I'm surprised they are still in business. Never going back.

I like this Columbus Cafe. Their staff are quite nice and their coffee is good. I have only ever had cabinet food from here and while it's okay it's nothing to rave about. I really like their new healthier options and their protein boosted smoothie is perfect for me and my dietary requirements and head office was very obliging when I emailed asking for more information to enable me to write a blog post about the smoothies.

Overpriced. Food and service were average, eggs in my 'columbus breakfast' were over boiled and bread had slight burns. Coffee beans were over roasted as well, so coffee did not taste great. Considering above average price tag / average quality would not recommend. Assume this might be one off case, as yesterday had just superb cappuccino in mitre 10 branch(not the greatest environment I know, but still). It looks like abundance of customers creates room for quality fluctuations...

As another wrote this place is "as expected"it's nice enough. Clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and have a can do attitude. We have the pancakes and the paleo breakfast which was lovely,although to have a runny egg would have been nice. <br/><br/> my mocha was nice and my friend didn't like her chai latte so they remade it twice. It did take quite a while for our plates to be cleared but that said a nice breakfast can recommend the paleo breakfast as a healthy start

Normally I'm not someone who pays a lot of attention to service- as long as the food gets served and they're not glaringly negligent, I'm ok with that UNLESS they're unnecessarily rude like here. First things first, I ordered a Chai frappe and a blackboard special Sujuk sandwich ($9.00) for an afternoon recoup from shopping in the mall and the chai frappe was as good as ever (Columbus Coffee is my favourite cafe franchise for chai frappe). As I had to get going, I asked if it was okay for the remaining half of my drink to be put in a takeaway container. The girl acted as though I had asked her something extremely tedious and grabbed the glass off me and proceeded to dump it into a takeaway cup. I was about to suggest she use a spoon to help slide the frozen clump smoothly into the cup when it plopped out (splashing her in the process) and she told me "normally it's done over a sink" in a way that suggested that it was my fault for the mess??<br/><br/>The sandwich was disappointing when it came out- for the price, we were expecting a substantial proper sandwich but what came out was a mini Baguette stick that looked like an appetiser at a function/ event. While it was quite nice, it was sorely small for cafe fare. All in all, an off-putting experience here considering the other branches are usually good.

My friend and I went here today for lunch as this Columbus has a really nice outdoor area. We both got frappes, I got Vanilla and she got a Mocha one. The were delicious! For our meal we had Mushrooms on Toast. It is a very plain an simple dish, and VERY over peppered there was so much that I couldn't really taste anything else. The service was not the best as we didn't get meal checked or offered water or anything. Wouldn't come back unless it was for a takeaway Frappe.

I wouldn't normally come to Colombus as the food isn't the best but my partner and I thought we would have lunch at the one inside Mitre 10 Mega seeing as we were there shopping anyway and I was really surprised! I ordered the chicken salad and it was so fresh and the chicken was so well seasoned and cooked and it was a really good amount of chicken too! My partner had the calamari and chips and again it was seasoned and cooked well. Everything was well priced, the coffee was nice and the staff were very friendly.

This Columbus outlet is located in a large mall's extension. The ambience is good. Coffee is very nice. Staff is communicative. Will go again for coffee.

Its what you expect. I ordered the Big breakfast which came out in a timely manner. My brother ordered the paleo breakfast which he enjoyed. My little 2 year old wanted peanut butter on toast. They kindly made that for her. It was clean and tidy and the service was good. Its what you expect.

The coffee is always great, and i am very fussy with my coffee but they alway make it just how i ask- thank you for that- i must be a pain!<br/>The service is fantastic staff are always friendly and helpful also fast which is a bonus especially when your grabbing a quick bite before a movie.<br/>As for the food  a lot of great choices but you must try the Rosti Benedict its amazing !!!

Great coffee, the worst service ever!<br/>They always make good coffee as other Columbus Coffee do, but staff do not know how to smile, or be nice to their customers - which makes me wonder who the manager is, and why s/he hire such people.<br/>We were a group of five, ordering five different coffee and food on a lovely Sunday afternoon. An iced chocolate with a scoop of ice cream for my pregnant friend got an iced coffee without ice cream, told them she had received a wrong drink, and the girl there gave her an angry face and almost threw the new drink to her on the table. The other friend who ordered a mango juice (or smoothie?) did not received his drink until the end of our meal, got told that 'it's coming', and we found that the drink was sitting on the coffee machine whole time.<br/>Even if they had been provided me/us bad services I had been back time to time, but guess no more Columbus Albany in my life. By the way, giving 1/5 is too much, wish there was 0/5.

We visited this Cafe today for lunch - and we were very disappointed.  The coffees/drink orders were prompt - although we ordered a large smoothie and were given a small one, with the explanation that they had run out of large cups. We were not offered any sort of price difference refund for this - so we asked for the remainder of the large smoothie to be provided in another glass. This was provided.  We ordered from the menu - and after 30 minutes waiting, we asked how long our orders would be - we were provided with an explanation from the waitress that as Monday was a holiday in Auckland, they had not received their chicken order... We were still waiting for our meals after 50 minutes - and as one of our party (there were three of us) had to return to work, we could not wait any longer, and we asked that our order be canceled and requested a refund, which we received, rather rudely from the waitress.  We will not be returning to this Cafe.

I felt so 'fantastic' about the service I received at Columbus today and thought of commenting and wow....how many 'accolades' here for their 'wonderful' service! I ordered a Flat white take away around 11.30am and waited ...waited...and waited. I checked my watch and am sure it took at least half an hour to deliver. You know what? The coffee temperature was near sub-zero level but beans must have been burnt over 300 Celsius kiln!! What an interesting marriage!! But Albany Westfield Columbus does it!!

This place used to be ok, so we kept coming back because of the handy location. However, the last handful of times we left our food and coffee unfinished, they were that bad. The cabinet food always tastes old and dry. The coffee tastes burnt. Food off the menu looks and tastes pre-packaged and pre-frozen. <br/><br/>Unfortunately, the atmosphere and service have also gone way down. The waitresses are not friendly, service slow and the place looks dirty, tables feel sticky.<br/><br/>This used to be a place to catch up with friends and family sometimes multiple times a week, but all of us have decided to not go back. It's a real shame because they have the location to be a busy and successful cafe; but these days there is no excuse for poor food/coffee and service.

Disappointing but not surprised. In spite of friends telling us Columbus Albany Mall was a no go, we thought we'd give Columbus a try as we had eaten in most of the cafes in the area. First impressions were the place was grubby. Floor needed a good clean and most of the tables hadn't been cleared. Flies buzzing around didn't help! Yet the location of this cafe is great. Ordered the chicken filo with side salad. What a let down. Chicken was hard and dry baked in a tasteless lime green coloured sauce. Not sure what it consisted of. The best part was the pastry although that too was hard in parts. Salad was average with some bitter tasting thick brown dressing dribbled over it. They should have served this dressing separately in case you didn't want your salad tainted. Needless to say I left most of this meal on my plate. Staff on the other hand were pleasant and quick to serve. I think it's time for a change of management.

Made a visit to meet a friend here on 22/10 ordered coffee &amp; some food from the menu, service was very prompt , coffee arrived within minutes of being seated . We both ordered soy in our coffee &amp; these were made very well 10/10 in fact. Food arrived shortly after &amp; we ate everything on our plates very tasty &amp; well presented, i would recommend this cafe if you are wanting to get out of the hustle &amp; bustle of being within the mall great spot to sit in the sun &amp; drink some great coffee. I will return &amp; prompt everyone who has placed negative reviews to give them another try. Well done columbus coffee albany mall.

I bought two deal vouchers. They advertised a breakfast and coffee worth $24.50. When we got there we were told it is a small breakfast consisting of bacon (two rashers) and two eggs and two slices of bread. I cannot see how they could make up the amount of $24.50 (totally inflated) The staff was eventually very apologetic as they could not tell me how the amount of $24.50 was arrived at! They offered us a second cup of coffee (and I have to admit the waiter did eventually change her attitude and became very nice and helpful). She took my phone number and said that the Operations Manager would phone me (still waiting - a week later!). I sent an email (still waiting) I went to the website which sold the vouchers that said they phoned Columbus and their small breakfast was valued at $20!!!! <br/><br/>All I can say is "Shame on you" Won't go back ever ever!!!!!<br/><br/>No wonder I see them advertising to sell the business!!

Columbus has always had great coffee and service. Just NOT this one.<br/><br/>When we head up to Albany we like going to try out different cafes to find good ones. This was such a let down!<br/>I ordered Pancakes off their menu because frankly the cabinet food looked awful. There were no salads or greens in any of the sad looking paninis which I'm sure were not made that morning.<br/>Plus nothing was on plate. Lining the cabinet with bits of paper and stacking the food looks awful.<br/><br/>Pancakes were a disappointment cold, bacon had clearly been cooked awhile ago and reheated. Plus my partners breakfast arrived ten mins before mine and they said nothing about the wait.<br/><br/>This columbus is letting the rest down.

We like the Columbus chain for reliable coffee and ambience. But the Albany Westfield venue was a disaster. Floor and tables we filthy and we had to ask staff to clean before bringing us our coffee and food. Spilt drinks on table and floor a hazard for my disabled son. Three staff on duty with poor English and hadn't heard of service with a smile. Trainee on the till spoke in unintelligible whisper against loud background music and got our order and loyalty card stamps wrong. Coffee cold. Chef had large suppurating bandaged sore on his arm and was serving at tables. My stomach is still churning!

We stopped here for lunch. While waiting for our food and coffees we overheard a staff member talk back quite rudely to the customer at the table next to us. Very unprofessional.<br/>After quite a wait for our order, my food eventually arrived. Tthen about 10 minutes later our coffees arrived with somewhat of an explanation about the coffee machine breaking down. The coffee was fairly disappointing. After a further 10 minutes my husbands food had still not arrived - he went in and as the line at the counter was quite long he asked the girl attending to coffees - she abruptly and rudely told him that she had no idea as the food was nothing to do with her - and made it clear she wasn't going to attempt to ask someone else or try to assist as she told him he needed to line up to ask the person at the counter!<br/>He came back to the table and we decided we would line up on our way out - for a refund for his meal. I decided to give them one more chance and flagged down another staff member on her way back from delivering coffees - she was obliging and shortly after my husbands food arrived - no apology for the wait. <br/>The customer service was appalling - at the very least slap a smile on and make the customer feel like they matter. Maybe it was a bad day but we certainly won't be ever going back to find out!<br/><br/>** The owner has since been in touch offering to make ammends ** While I appreciate this, I have chosen not to take him up on this.

I decided to give this one another go... Cashier was fast and friendly. The coffee was really good but took a while to arrive. <br/><br/><br/>* * * * Previous Review * * *<br/><br/>I've been there three times and two of those times were a let down due to the coffee machine being broken/out of coffee. Last time I stood in the queue for some time only to discover I could not buy a coffee. You'd think if coffee is your main business you would put up a sign if the machine is out of order. Have had much nicer experiences at other Columbus outlets though.<br/><br/>

Maybe this was just a bad day, and I hope it was... Coffee was very bitter, food was overpriced, small, and not fresh. Service was not very good. I have been to other Columbus Coffee branches, and this one was definitely not the best. Service was pretty much non existent, seemed like the staff were hiding and slacking of, plus not friendly. With all the other coffee places in the area, there are definitely better choices out there....

Went here for lunch yesterday 3 of us ordered something from cabinet and one a BLAT. We sat down at a dirty table one of several around. We waited a long time for our coffee only for it to be served in take out cups. Sorry we have run out of cups they said- as the man next door to us complained well if you cleared the tables you would have some. The BLAT (overpriced and small at $17.50) arrived and was finished by the time the rest of us got our food(very ordinary) from the cabinet. The food was very average,the service dreadful.The place was not even full - goodness help them when they are.

Very nice coffee. Lovely spot with indoor/outdoor seating. French toast was average on this occasion - looking forward to trying some other meals on a second visit. Staff were great also.
