Review Constantinople Cafe & Restaurant - Albany

The food in this place is super good. The menu is different enough and it has a real authentic South East Europe / Turkish taste. The meat has a fantastic dash of char to it. Youll feel damn great after eating here. Portions are a little on the small side, but grab some dessert and you'll be golden.

An amazing food experience— I can taste the authenticity. Tender and falling apart in your mouth pressure cooked lamb, creamy red lentil soup, beautifully plated food, friendly chef and staff, and really interesting shelf food I’ve never seen before! The free candy I tried out as I paid for my meal was really fascinating as well— brightly coloured, soft, salty on the outside, sweet, melt in my mouth....honey like aftertaste after a few minutes..... The restaurant looks plain outside, but once you walk in, everything is so comfy, gorgeous, friendly....the chef/owner greeted us, chatted, asked if we’d like the heater on....all the outdoor chairs have pillows and comforters...... They deserve more customers :’( I don’t understand why it was so empty on a Monday afternoon at around 1-2pm.

Such a cool little place. Feels very authentic and you can see your food being prepared. There's a covered deck area which can hold large groups or yiu can sit inside if you want somewhere quieter. Food was superb and I give the yoghurt cheesecake the big thumbs up!

FIVE ENTHUSIASTIC STARS! Start to finish, this place gets it right. Flawlessly prepared, homemade, authentic Turkish cuisine has never tasted this delicious. Just as the name suggests, it’s like taking a trip across the globe straight to the heart of Constantinople — gorgeous, artfully crafted food complete with the freshest flavors and ingredients. They spare no detail to make the atmosphere as authentic as possible, too — even the plates, glassware, and flatware seemed to come straight from Turkey. Family run with a pleasant vibe and stylish atmosphere. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by the owner himself, who also serves you personally throughout your meal. His table service was attentive without being overbearing. You can tell he is genuinely invested in the satisfaction of his patrons. I really enjoyed the open layout of the kitchen — it lends a grassroots honesty to the whole place when you can see straight in and even say hello to the lovely people preparing the homemade food (no doubt from recipes passed down through generations). Beautiful wines and loose-leaf teas on offer to accompany the traditional Turkish menu. Try the Four Cheeses pizza — it’s one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Overall, Constantinople is a total win. I will definitely be back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was our first time to Constantinople restaurant and we will definitely be back. Amazing food, service and atmosphere. The food was so good we ordered too much and couldn't fit in the baklava so got it to takeaway instead. I highly recommend going here to support them and enjoy some fantastic authentic Turkish food. YUMMY!!!!

Went here for lunch with my family. This was our first time eating Turkish food so we weren't sure what to expect but everything was so amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful and the staff so friendly. The food, was presented so well and the flavors were delicious. Nothing too overpowering, and everything was fresh. We got some desserts to take home to enjoy a little later and they were also fantastic. We were all pleased with the entire experience and will be looking forward to eating here again.

Plant-based food is so versatile 😍👌🏻 Beautiful food, and even more beautiful family that own the place and serve quality, authentic turkish food from their heart 🥰 definitely would recommend you to go if you love middle eastern food and they give you blankets 😉 perfect for dinner for a special occasion in this wintery season 😇🙏🏼 they have a separate vegan menu with delicious vegan mezze platter, curly fries and desert! Went here with my partner because we wanted to try something different. To be honest I'm not familiar with Turkish food, but we both liked what we had. Restaurant was clean and the staffs were friendly. Overall a good experience.

No better than Avenue 28 who were in this space before. Disappointing as it would be a very handy local restaurant as we are based just around the corner

Wow.  The new restaurant on the Avenue is exceptional and I consider myself to be a pretty tough critic..  Authentic Turkish food with flavours that are rich.  I had the Halloumi chips for a starter and they were delicious.  It was a generous size serving.  My husband had a Taramasalata and said it was great.  I then had slow cooked Orpheus Chicken and devoured most of it.  I say most of it because like the previous reviewer said, you need to make sure you leave enough space in your tummy for their yummy desserts.  A lovely addition to our eating choices in Albany. Totally recommend it.

Stopped on our way back from Sanders Reserve, had a delicious lunch with our family of 4. Kids really enjoyed their curly fries and pizza and hubby and I tried out some of the traditional Turkish dishes - I had Turkish saganaki with beef pepperoni and hubby had the lentil soup. Yum! Wish there was more space left in our tummies for the baklava! Will def visit agin.
