Review Chatto Creek Tavern - Alexandra

Great place for lunch on the first day of the rail trail. Fish burgers (although delicious) are great, but a little pricey for a pub meal. Fries however were perfectly done and reasonably priced. lovely garden to relax in with a pint while you recharge for another cycle stretch...

Wonderful service and atmosphere. Food is delish. In the summer they have live music in the garden every Sunday. Well maintained playground for kids which is awesome. Also have cornhole games and donkeys in a pen for the kids to look at. Absolutely love this place!

A lively, happy and interesting pub. Conveniently on the Otago Central Rail Trail, so a perfect stop for thirsty riders. The good beer did nothing to dissuade us. Also, conveniently, it has overnight camper parking. So we came back a few hours later, enjoyed more beer and some fine pug grub. Rather fine staff too.

Wow Wow Wow 🤯 OMG, The crosscut chips were TDF and the burger was incredible. Fresh bun, fresh lettuce, home made burger patties and the caramelised onion was so so good. I couldn't eat it all. The coffee was one of the best I've tasted throughout the south island. Staff were awesome, clean toilets; but I have to say the big mirror on a lean by the woman's toilets, looks like another loo going down hill- a momentary psychedelic trip.. 🤣🤣. You can dine in or out. Good hearty Kiwi farm Tucker. They even had French Onion Soup.. 😳. If you're down this way, it's a must stop that your tastebuds will appreciate.. Thanks for the food.

Great place to take kids, cool outdoor play area, including Henry & Honkey the friendly donkeys, simple but yummy seasonal menu, heaps of outdoor seating, cool vibe 🙂

I love the beef burger and chips. Play ground for kids and parking for cars and bikes. Beside the rail trail

Great food, and lovely donkeys in the paddock, Henry and Honkey, Honkey loved the pats, Henry was looking for treats (but don't feed the donkeys) 😊

Stopped here on our bike ride for lunch. The beer battered fries and cross cut fries were simply the best I have ever hard. The cold beer went down a treat and the outside area was nice and shady on a hot Central Otago afternoon. The team were very friendly and chatty. Good old fashioned hospitality. Perfect.

Well worth a visit whether you are biking past on the Otago Central Rail Trail, or driving by. The outdoor areas have had a major revamp in the past couple of years, with a cute little outdoor bar a new feature. A simple menu, but plenty of variety.

We stopped there twice in the last two weeks, the first time while driving out to explore Ophir and the second time when we were riding the trail. Both times we had Asian Chicken Noodle Salad and Beer Battered Chips. Absolutely mouth watering eith a beautiful setting snd great service

Gotta love this pub. Loads of history. Great beers on tap. And the fries are to die for. Friendly staff and the "locals" are very sociable. Been here on several visits - from Canada. Gotta go here.
