Review Provisions Of Arrowtown Cafe - Arrowtown

Simply outstanding food!! Came in on a chilly morning and had coffee with their eggs, potato and chorizo, and it was much needed homey food to warm the soul. The cafe is rather small (if it's too cold to sit outside, but the food is so awesome I would highly recommend you to try if you have the time!)

lovely and homey cafe. love their garden and the interior as well. sadly we didn’t get a chance to try their food as we arrived when they have a changeover of menu from breakfast to lunch. so we just ordered coffee instead. coffee is alright.

When we heard Matthias & Monika had taken the reins at Provisions we knew it would become a tour de force! The “Trust the Chef” dinner experience blew us away - the food was pure artwork presentations of incredible flavour combinations. Add friendly staff and a cosy cottage atmosphere - we’ll definitely be back again soon! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We decided to eat here while walking to the town CBD after walking the Tobbins track along the river. We didn't have a booking and at first they told us the cooking staff were not ready for lunch service so were about to leave when told they were ready after all. We were a party of 7 so we had a range of their lunch menu items including the slow roasted pulled lamb, Korean fired chicken, including their truffle fries. Food was good and a range of drinks was available. Yes recommended!

Awesome! Food are great and delicious! Sauce is so delicate and tasty. Had Royal Burn station Lamb and today’s sweet and coffee. It fascinated my eyes. Had good time with good food and atmosphere. Feel like French Cuisine. Today’s sweet is gouges and fabulous! Love it! Flat white is great too.

Had such a lovely experience here! It was the first cafe that came up when we searched “best cafes in Arrowtown” and we ran with it - so glad we did because it was definitely TRUE! The atmosphere was breathtaking with the beautiful mountains in the background and the service was amazing! Unfortunately the truffle fries we had ordered didn’t come but no worries as we were super full from our delicious food :) would highly recommend!

Amazing food and service with a cosy atmosphere. The sweet corn fritters were crispy and not soggy, the eggs poached perfectly and the focaccia was toasted just right. Great tasting coffee too. Staff are very friendly. 10/10 experience

Really great breakfast spot, the Eggs Benedict was fantastic with mushrooms. The coffee tasted burnt (but all New Zealand coffee has tasted like this to me, so not really unique to this place 😅). Service was amazing and loved watching the adorable birds in the back of the property. Would definitely recommend!

Outdoor seating area is just awesome. Loved the South Island Salmon.

"I had a good experience at this cafe. The coffee was nice, the food was tasty, and the service was decent. I would consider coming back."

Adorable little cafe with a beautiful garden like patio! We stopped in for breakfast and service was prompt and friendly. We sat on the patio and ordered 2 flat whites, the Chile salmon eggs and the breakfast bap sandwich, which had an amazing spicy chorizo. All was fabulous - the seedy bread with the salmon eggs was divine and the right amount of chewy and crunchy. They were very busy, so we had to ask how to settle up after waiting awhile and were told to pay since. A worthwhile stop!

We visited here on a cold April day. The atmosphere is very great. It’s like a family home. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was served very quickly, and was very well decorated, but it wasn’t as tasty as a five grade in my experience. This could be just me though. Generally it was a very good experience and a good start for our visit to Arrow town.

It’s handy this cafe is rated so highly as otherwise we might have missed it. It’s located at the far end of Buckingham Street only just past and opposite the Public Library. We arrived fifteen minutes before closing at 3.30pm (later than many NZ cafes) but they still welcomed us in. The place is charming and it’s garden is an oasis of calm. The tea and coffee were good, but their ‘Magic Slice’ was great. So much so we bought a tea towel to get the recipe!

Chosen to had our lunch here as per reviews. The lady took our orders, very hospitable and patient and taking notes of our requirements then the waiting time is daunting, the food came too long over 20mins! The lady even came out after 40mins asking if the food were serve. I bet you the dish are delectable but too small for our appetite.

Has a lovely outdoor seating which is perfect for a sunny spring day. Overall decent fare with price on a slightly upper range.

Excellent service, warm, hospitable, knowledgeable & caring wait staff. Delightful outside seating amongst the autumn leaves. Plenty of Gluten free options; I had the eggs benny with bacon which was absolutely delicious. Indoor seating available too & heaters& blankets for outside warmth.

Came to this super cosy restaurant near to the edge of Arrow Town for lunch. It was like a little house with a charming garden outside with apple and pear trees. The foods and staffs were great too. We have a Korean fried chicken burger, duck fried rice, a latte and long black. The duck fried rice was superb. Crispy shredded duck confit was tasty with the rice. The burger was not bad although not the best we tried in NZ. Coffees were good. Overall we have a very satisfied meal in a very nice atmosphere.

Unfortunately I couldn't stay for long and ended up having just a cup of coffee but this place has so much character. Lovely vibe, reasonable price and friendly staff members. I'd love to go back again someday.

After searching the whole of Arrowtown, Provisions seemed to have the nicest food on offer, but we were mistaken. We ordered the chilli eggs with salmon and the breakfast dahl. The salmon put me off my meal with the first bite. Not only was it disgustingly fishy, but it tasted old and like it had been microwaved multiple times. There was also no hint of chilli in the eggs. The dahl was a grainy mush that was not appetising in the slightest. My partner and I both had one bite of our meals before leaving disappointed and $50 short.

Good coffee, and they are dog friendly if you sit outside, and great sticky buns! Food is great too! Great casual eating, breakfast/brunch!

The food is incredible, the coffee is the best and the staff are so friendly! Love this place!

We called in for hot drinks and curly chips for the kids. The toilets are far from clean. The waitress opened the freezer and dropped food onto the floor near the toilets these were taken away to be binned! Two out of the three teaspoons were dirty. The bowl of sauce had food from the precious users on the outside. I returned it for a clean one and watched as the waitress fished through some dirty dishes possibly to hand wash it and return it. I opted to take the container and squirt it on at the table. The lady in the kitchen with the dirty looking tea towel did nothing to ease my concerns about the cleanliness of this establishment.

The coffee was good, the ambience was great. Everyone (4) was pleased with their food. My friend is very fussy with his coffee, he had a second to go...... That’s a big wrap !

On a very busy day the staff were super friendly and speedy. Food, coffee and setting all perfect.

Coffee was ok but didn't quite understand the 50c fee for the takeaway cup. The egg and bacon roll was tasty, but messy to eat as it was presented. Atmosphere was excellent though and very relaxing in a small cottage setting. Was difficult to find your location according to Google too.

Fantastic food, coffee and surroundings. Had the Buckwheat pancakes which were light fluffy and very tasty with the poached fruit, almond and yoghurt. Food we saw going out to other diners was presented beautifully. Definite recommend if visiting Arrowtown.

Food excellent and coffee was certainly thee best in town. Love this place.

Really lovely little cafe. Amazing sun soaked area outside. Great coffee & service.

To the waitress who dropped the bread rolls out of freezer near toilet walk way and put them back in the freezer unwrapped you should be ashamed!!

The Korean burger is fantastic. Crunch, heat, salty, porky goodness. The curly fries were excellent too

Amazing looking baked goods and cabinet food and delicious coffee with friendly service
The most beautiful outdoor dining area/s

Located away from the town centre, you'll probably come across this cozy cafe if you're on your way to visit the Historic Gaol. It has a nice garden with outdoor seating for a green leafy surrounding.

What caught my attention was a sign that says "obscenely good sticky buns". First thought was, what even is a sticky bun as buns are never sticky, and of course the 'obscenely good' part. Intrigued by such claim, I just had to try it out myself.

So this sticky bun is, to put it simply, a mini cinnamon roll-like pastry, glazed with syrup to create that sticky texture, raisins/berry in it, topped with some almond. It was good, but maybe not mind-blowingly epic, either way they still got a sale from that sign.

0 degrees in Arrowtown, exploring the beautiful town. Found provisions purely by walking around we weren't actually looking for it.

Stunning building that has all the character and charm that makes Arrowtown so appealing. The charm doesn't end when you enter the building.

Started off just grabbing a coffee but then got interested in the food as we waited so decided to grab a bite to eat. Wifey had steak and Guinness pie which was awesome! I had the egg and bacon pie, which was ok but nothing to write home about.

Was good to get out of the cold and the staff their were friendly. Cosy seating adds to the charm.

Food: 70%
Ambience: 75%
Service: 76%
Coffee: 65%

Really, really good food! With a great menu board as well as some good looking cabinet food you cannot go wrong with Provisions. I ordered the aubergine and courgette curry with Dahl, yoghurt and roti. It was heavenly! The flavours just complimented each other so well and they even had a sprinkle of mango on top which again went so well! I also had a rhubarb soda which was so refreshing on such a hot day!

Stopped here for quick lunch - the cafe was a comfortable space with good outside seating.

I had the fish taco which was quite enjoyable, along with a well made coffee. Would love to come back to try some more of their menu, dessert and cabinet options.

I wanted to share these couple of photos of our lunch at PROVISIONS OF ARROWTOWN, a super cute cafe in Arrowtown, New Zealand. You may have read in my previous post that mum and I were staying at Millbrook Resort last week. It’s the most beautiful resort around a golf course, and only about 5 minutes from Arrowtown. Arrowtown itself is a small town by a river, around 20 minutes from Queenstown. There are some nice hikes from there, and interestingly there’s also a historical Chinese settlement from when the Chinese came to mine for gold in the 1800s!

great brunch here. I had eggs with hash - eggs bene style. Hubby had their version of avocado smash, tasty fresh & cabinet food looked yummy as well. A must if you are visiting Arrowtown.

What a wonderful little place in picturesque Arrowtown. Food was lovely, I had the Potato Rosti with Poached Eggs, bacon and spinach . Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted extremely fresh

Definitely a good place to pop into when your around

A neat application for a protected building. Considering the obvious limitations, they've done a good job with the ambience. Allpress coffee roast but they use their machine well. Good menu. Some communication problems front of house in the absence of a good Kiwi dialect.

I like the nutritional balance of the meals here. Some interesting items off the menu. Windows of toilets are pretty awkward through. The garden is pretty, real backyardsy vibe.

The sticky buns were as wonderful as people described. Not wanting to dampen the hype, but they are just a really good cinnamon bun with a sticky caramel sauce and chopped macadamias. A delightful accroutement for the coffee. The latte was strong enough, and the milk well textured, the brew itself lacked some definition and character.

Other menu choices looks very appealing. The eye fillet burger looked particularly appealing. And I did wonder why you would put eye fillet on a burger (!) but that will have to wait for my next visit...

Enjoy this place. You will, I guarantee.

Fresh warm sticky buns available from 8.30am. Had to come here three times before I could get my hands on one of these which sell out daily. The bun was soft and fresh. The sticky goodness of the syrup with cinnamon and the chopped up macadamias on top truly make for one obscenely good sticky bun. If you need a sweet treat while in Arrowtown, look no further. I've also had coffee here which was quite good.

After being back from New Zealand for almost 3 weeks now, I’ve finally had the time to write about this little gem of a cafe located in the small town of Arrowtown, just outside Queenstown. Arrowtown is a historical gold miners’ town, inhabited with cute cafes and historical trails definitely worth the day trip! Especially if you’re looking to try some fresh, local produce at Provisions.
Heneedsfood
The name says it all with the goods that are on offer – gourmet pantry and fridge edibles, fresh bread and baked goods made daily, local ceramics and baking accessories.

Top Notch. This little bakery/cafe is tucked away off the main. Street in Arrowtown and is worth finding. They do their own breads, jams and fresh food which all looks quality. Their specialty is their famous sticky bun of which I didn't try but they went through a fair few of the in the time we ate our lunch.
For lunch I had the smoked salmon, Brie, cream cheese bagel that was awesome. A big chunk of salmon that matched perfectly with the cheese and spicy sauce that accompanied it. The open Moroccon chicken sandwich also tasted great. It is a perfect setting to relax in with great music, plenty of seating inside and out and a very homely feel.
Worth a visit when in Arrowtown, even if only for a coffee.

This is a great little restaurant. Our lunch choices were perfectly balanced, beautifully cooked and presented with a smile. And the glass of Georgetown rose suggested by the owner (of Provisions) was just the perfect lunchtime wine. I'm told in summer its lovely with all the doors open to the verandas and the garden, but even in mid winter its a goodie!

What a great addition to the Arrowtown eatery scene. We recently had a long weekend there and we just couldn't get enough of this great little deli/cafe. It was really bustling both mornings, the food is fab (the sticky buns are an absolute must) staff are welcoming and very efficient, there is a huge array of picnic fare as well as freshly baked artisan style breads, and the well-loved Provisions jams and chutneys etc. We will be back without a doubt every time we visit Arrowtown!
