Review Bonjour - Arrowtown

Stopped by to get some nutella crepes before going for a walk by the river. When going to order I noticed some of the pastries in the display cabinet and also ordered an almond croissant. Both were really delicious and hit the spot. The almond croissant was filled with pastry cream and had enough almond slivers to give it the right flavour and crunch. Definitely a nice place to stop by for a quick bite.

The service was great : staff very welcoming and smiling ! After a year in New Zealand, it feels good to eat a good little French dish. The Provencal lamb was very good ! The setting is pretty and typical.

Great service from all despite being super busy during boxing day. Crepes were great, loved the banana Nutella crepe and chocolate croissant!

The only French place you can find in Arrowtown. I was craving for a crepe so ordered a caramelised apple one. It was nice but a bit toasted for my taste. I prefer like in France, softer one. Other than that it is a nice place to feel like a bit of France.

Had this delightful hazelnut brest for dessert, excellent taste and texture but be warned, it is huge! Definitely worth sharing at $8 a slice and with the delicious richness that makes it hard to finish alone.

The food was very tasty and we'll priced.

French waiters & French specialties. Also good value for money. Definitely worth a stop, especially if you are getting tired of burgers.

A lovely quaint restaurant tucked away facing the Arrow River. Bonjour is one of my favourite cafes. The staff are absolutely lovely and the food is authentic, tasty and very reasonably priced. Definitely a must visit when coming to Arrowtown. Plus they support the Queenstown Cat Rescue which is a big bonus for me :)

This is potentially my favourite cafe in New Zealand. Whenever I am in Queenstown I ensure I make time to head to Arrowtown and go to Bonjour. The food is a welcome change. It is a delicious filling unique arrangement that makes you want to go back for more. The environment is friendly, welcoming and a little French. Love love love!

Delicious breakfast, best croissant I've had in ages! Very helpful and thoughtful staff, and a lovely atmosphere. My 4yo enjoyed it too! Perfect!

Quaint pretty little restaurant, ideal for a winter breakfast/brunch. Worthwhile to even drive out from Queenstown and get away from the crowds. The food was cooked superbly and the staff were attentive. I'd give it more stars perhaps if I hadn't just sampled their meals once.

The one star is given to the food but unfortunately I can’t rate star minus to their poor customer service. We planned our last trail walk to finish our holiday at lovely Arrowtown but the bad experience with this cafe ruined it. My wife went in to buy some muffins and croissants while I was trying to find a car park. She bought in takeaway bag which is convenient for us to bag away the leftovers. We also thought this is less hassle to the cafe too because they don’t need to serve the table, wash the dishes etc.

There’re four or five tables outside with no other customers yet. Astonishingly two girls rushed out of cafe and ordered us to leave. One girl said to us we bought in takeaway bag so that we can’t sit here. We asked what’s difference, in price? The other girl said it’s coffee table for coffee. Unbelievable!

The cafe is in root disrespecting the customers. They know most ones are one-off tourists so that they don’t care to piss off the customers especially after purchase being made already. Shame on you!

We ordered, " Carmelized apple crepe", " Suger And Lemon crepe", Cafe latte" and " Black coffee". Everything were bad, you can smell an eggs in the crepes, the taste of crepes are dry and not good and the drinks were cold even we told them we wanted extra hot. But, the service is good. Anyway, I don't recommended.

Lovely french cafe in arrow town for lunch after a morning of cycling. Loved the overall ambience and outdoor seating. We had the french onion soup, garlic herbs escargots, raclette crepe (ham, potato, cheese) and sugar lemon crepe. Everything was delicious!

A small and warm french restaurant in Arrowtown. We had coffee and soup here. Very comfortable environment to chill and recharge yourself. Recommend it!

The Bonjour Cafe was very full when we visit during Easter holiday. Luckily we reserved a table before our arrival. We had very light lunch sharing among four of us. No surprise on their coffee. But we loved their grilled quarter chicken. It was served very simple and "not good looking" but it tasted very good! It is a place to consider if you would like to dine out in Arrowtown.

Bonjour is a place I'll always visit every time we visit Queenstown. Going there for breakfast or lunch has always been one of the highlights of our trips. Great food, great atmosphere, great hospitality and great music! Can't wait to go back there agin in May!

Bonjour cafe is right in the heart of Arrowtown - yet the closest place to a French dining experience in NZ. We were greeted by French speaking waitresses who were very helpful. Our breakfast was tasty and serving size was reasonable for its price. I had a lovely time, definitely will be returning next time I'm on holiday

The worst customer service EVER.

You people are not in France now and can not get away with talking to your customers as you do.

You arrogance shine through in your replies to you unhappy customers on Tripadvisor.

You need to change your approach to customer service in this small town or you will go out of business.

P,s we are also local & will never be back , CLOWNS !!!

Came here for a family breakfast, left full of trés trés bien French food! The staff were French speaking with cool accents and it was all very relaxed. The crépes were different from what I had ever had before but tasted just fine. Next time I'm in arrowtown I'll be stopping by!

Our old favourites in Arrowtown, the well known French Creperie! Of course the staff are all French so they couldn't understand us and even once told us off, so we had the real French experience! :-) they had French cheese fondue on the menu, so I could hardly say no (was fantastic) , but the buckwheat crepes also looked very good.

Breakfast for us started with the La Complete crepe', which being made with buckwheat it was a bit different from the standard crepe'. Not sure it is too much more healthier but it made us feel better.

The service was good and the coffee was some of the best we had tasted in the region. Wrap-up as there is the option to sit outside.

Worth a try if you are look for something different.

This definitely was an authentic French experience.
The "lady" who I can only assume was the manager/owner kept telling us every time we tried sitting at an outdoor table, that it was reserved and we couldn't sit there despite there not being a reserved label on it. She didn't really care and was obviously busy with something far more important than customer satisfaction.
We walked out in the end as the service was rude and appalling.
We ended up going to another cafe. Much friendlier.

Wow what a treasure of a place for Arrowtown. I was here with a friend and we called in for coffee. We were amazed at the french products they had available. The details were perfect from the checked tablecloths to the lovely french staff working there. The danishes were great as was the coffee. We loved playing tantrix which were placed on each table. It was so relaxing we later returned for lunch. I had the chicken salad with the most amazing vinegariette and my friend had the salmon omelette also good. We plan to return again soon.

Bonjour Cafe is a delightful French restaurant in the main centre of Arrowtown. It's decor brings authenticity to the place, as do the friendly staff.

Had their omelette and freshly baked bread which was divine. And their chicken was very satisfying too. Highly recommend stopping by this cafe as it has a great atmosphere and great food too.
