one of the nicest places to visit and have a lovely hot and fresh meal, the staff are always lovely and friendly, would recommend this place to anyone visiting or living in Ashburton that like Thai food.

Hi, I am Andy Hayes from Oregon Treasury.Once I visited Charming Thai Restaurant .Surprisingly affordable and delicious cocktails (including the famous Singapore Sling), surprisingly mediocre food and thankfully good service makes this place perfect for those drinks at the end of a long shopping spree or before a movie.
Foodie Paradise.....Simple surroundings....Humble, lovely, generous Host....and Gorgeous, fresh Food...at the most reasonable....amazing prices....put that together and The Charming Thai should get 10 stars...I am a tough critic but Ton and his team get a rave review from me......
When did I last visit...last week...and the week before that....and, my record...4 visits in one week...seriously...its that good !!!

Best Thai ever! Have been here lots of times the food and service are great and fast. My favourite is the combination entree and the peanut sauce chicken and beef. Make sure you try this if your are in ashburton.

Fantastic, love the fresh food, great for takeaway tea the meals are huge, infact my husband and i can normally share one, and at lunch time its super fast and super yum. My kids loved it to, and were made very welcome at lunch time

My husband and I were passing through Ashburton and looking for a Thai restaurant. Well we were more than pleasantly surprised to find the Charming Thai Restaurant. The food is simply superb and I want to recommend the Panang Curry. My husband is a chef and it really is fantastic when we find a restaurant producing such quality meals at an affordable price. We have been recommending this restaurant to all our friends. It is not often enough that we can be confident to recommend a restaurant to friends. The restaurant was busy with takeaway and dine in meals but this did not compromise the quality.
Was recommended Ton's Thai by a work colleague. Food came out fast, friendly service and good value for money! I got the fried chicken noodle soup and there was so much chicken! Places in the city would only give you about half the amount. We ended up sharing a 3rd dish of soft shell crab (which we probably didn't need as the serving sizes were very generous). The sauce that come with it was absolutely delicious.
Highly recommend and will be back I ever get the chance!

Delicious food and well priced for the quality. Staff were friendly though the service was a little slow. I'd gladly eat at Ton's Thai again!
Ton’s is definitely my favourite Thai restaurant in New Zealand, I have tried almost all the Thai menu and I always get surprised.
I wait the pay days to come and have dinner here. The relaton between food quality/size and prices are really good, and the staff is always so kind, starting for the owner who is always taking care on the costumers 😋🫰🏼
Amazing! My wife and I had a fantastic dining experience at Tons Thai! I couldn't decide so I left the choice to the chef and I was pleasantly surprised when the chef's choice turned out to be the crab salad. The freshness of the crab and the unique blend of flavors in the salad left us speechless. My Wife ordered the chicken peanut sauce which was also a highlight, with the perfect balance of savory and nutty flavors. Overall, Tons Thai exceeded our expectations, and we left with full hearts and satisfied taste buds. We'll definitely be coming back for more!

Large portions - we had the pineapple fried rice, beef noodle soup and paad Thai. Reasonable standard. Staff were friendly with excellent service.
