Review Cleavers Corner Gastro Pub - Ashburton

had late lunch here on-route to Lake Tekapo from Christchurch. very friendly staff and the service was great. the battered fish and sirloin steak were good, but the burger wasn’t - the bun was done to a crisp and everything in between was overcooked. easy to park kerbside.

The drinks here were fantastic , with a wide range of alcoholic beverages as well as some fantastic mocktails. The drinks were bought out quickly and as a big group there was almost no difference between the rate at which they came out. However the feature that let them down was the unfriendliness of the staff. We kept getting side glances and when we got a drink on the menue confused due to a spelling error we got met with an eye roll. Not the best customer service how ever the drinks more than made up for it

Bloody Good Feed! Both of our meals were cooked nicely and tasted even better then they looked! Highly recommend coming here the atmosphere is very relaxing and welcoming. Would 100% go back

Great service: attentive without being fussy. Food was fresh and full of flavour. We had specials and felt was great value for price, size and flavours. We spent more in drinks than food :-)

We had a lovely night, exquisite food & great vibe. The flavor of the sauce on the bbq ribs was the best I've had in a while, the pork needed more crackling but the vegetables were great. Bookings essential as it was even busy on a Sunday night, & last time we didn't get a table. The service was friendly & attentive.

Absolutely outstanding!! Was driving thru Ashburton and rang ahead to book a table.. we were advised of a big party coming in so was asked if we wanted to order ahead! What a fantastic idea, got my drink and five minutes later our meals were on the table.. just the perfect amount and tasted amazing.. we definitely will be back… cheers 🥂

Stopped for a drive break on way south and its such a lovely spot. Super friendly and helpful staff. Excellent coffee. Lovely atmosphere and great decor - would love to visit for a meal. Also free parking right across the road.

Stopped here on our way to Lake Tekapo for dinner. Was a nice spot for elevated pub food. I had the cheese burger, which was really good. The meat was nice and beefy not dry. Really big servings. Well priced.

Had a lovely meal and very impressed with the young waitress we had 🤩 made for a lovely dining experience.

I chose this place based on menu options before I got out of motel. Entrance led to the bar area first. Staff was busy at bar but it didn't take long to be seated. It is nice and cozy atmosphere. The food is also very good and staff is making sure you have everything you need. This is another place where I will go back. If there one thing to change it would be the carpet but it is not a must.

Good menu, nice price range. I had the Chicken Burger which was a nice size, not too big, was very tasty. My hubby had Chicken Ceaser which was delish. Dessert was amazing!! We had the Meringue Stack and the cheesecake. Kids menu was pretty basic, could use a healthy dish on there, something with veges or a pasta. We went with a big party of over 25 so there was a wait on getting food, but that was to be expected. Good service from wait staff. Didn't seem to mind my toddler running havoc, only problem was she could run straight out the open bar doors on to the road. So not recommended for active toddlers who don't stay still.

My fish &chip meal wasn't fantastic.. but apparently everyone who had the steak loved it. I will review again once I try it. ...20/7/19 Just tryed the steak last night fantastic and very impressed with the desert drink. Worth 5 stars

We stopped by Ashburton on the way to somewhere else and had lunch here. It was packed on a Saturday afternoon. The food was great and fresh but the service could be improved.

Had thee yummiest pasta I’ve had in ages! (reminded me of our favorite pasta restaurant from back home) Definitely should be a permanent menu feature � and as for the creme brûlée when a huge bowl of yumminess arrived I thought I’d never finish it! The bottom came way to quickly and I wish it was bigger! Will definitely be back for more! Ps: give the passion fruit tea pot a try too! Pps: the staff are amazing! Makes your night out a 10/10!

So great to have such a wonderful place in Ashburton. I always say there’s no point in having good food with out good service... well here you get great service to match the great food. Consistent service & tasty food is the winning combo. Perfectly cooked steak every time ��� Keep up the great work team. �

After what my awesome sister Twincey Browne Vaevae & I have been thru with our families, there’s no better place to be but at Cleavers Corner to share, encourage one another & even better being served with the best service, best staff & scrumptious kai. After every bite was a WOW!!!. Will be back!.

We had a lovely meal there on Sunday. Everything was perfect and the staff were so friendly. It was our and my parents wedding anniversary and they brought us both out a lovely plate with happy anniversary on it and some really yummy treats, such a nice touch and much appreciated. We will be dining there again.

Lovely meal and dessert with good friends. Had the beer battered grouper with salad and fries, sticky date pudding to finish. Nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Will need to come back and try the ribs!

I've been there 3 times so far and every time it's been fantastic. The staff and so friendly and energetic and the food is very well priced and tastes amazing recommended for any occasion

Love the chicken salad with crispy wontons and my Husbands favourite is the steak meal and lamb shanks meals. Tasty food and great service 😀

Wonderful place so clean and tidy and great layout. Had Pork Belly on saturday night and it was cooked to perfection. Fabulous staff and all. Will defiantly be back again.
