Review The Somerset Grocer Cafe And Bar - Ashburton

I've been meaning to come here for yonks. Finally did today for a light lunch, had the salmon roulade, you should definitely try it! Coffee is great, there's a decent menu as well as good selection in the cabinet and I think I saw ice cream/Gelato too! There are heaps fot goodies to buy, oils, salt, chopping boards, loads of gifts in the store as well. The staff were friendly and efficient and I'll definitely be going back!

A great little cafe to stop for breakfast on our way through Ashburton. The cafe was well presented and tastefully prrsented. I liked their selection of gourmet products. The cabinet food looked delicious and the menu had lots of options. We ordered the vegetable stack and the big breakfast. Both were generous portions and the food was pretty good- I would've liked to see it with some extra flavours but it was all well cooked. Coffees were also well made.

Good cafe to hang out when in Ashburton. Came here thrice and was never disappointed with the overall experience. Good strong coffee and they have nice goodies to buy as well.

Went there in a wet Saturday morning in November. It was cosy and warm when we enter. The keto bake and carrot salad were delicious. Coffee as great and love browsing at the shop.

We were a group of 12, stopped for morning tea one day and lunch the next day. Both times we were served our coffees and food almost together, which was great not to waiting on orders. Staff were very friendly and all seemed happy to stop and have a quick chat. We all gave the staff top marks, the food pleased us all and if in Ashburton again the somerset grocer would definitely be on our go to list.

The place is well presented and comfortable. I like their Salmon Roulette which I usually order. The coffee is a bit strong.

Fantastic, blue cheese and mushroom tart was divine. Relaxed welcoming atmosphere, nice place to stop when travelling for a break. Excellent service, friendly staff and great coffee. Also had excellent vegetarian options which is extremely hard to find around here.

Went to buy a brand of tea & flavour. They had the brand however not the flavour. The lady behind the counter went over & above to rectify the situation & did so 100% with a smile. Thankyou would highly reccommend for customer service & offering a solution.

We’re making our way back to Christchurch to catch a flight to Auckland and we stopped for breakfast here. What a beautiful cafe with amazing food and great service. I would highly recommend a visit to the Somerset Grocer if you’re ever in Ashburton.

Wasn't impressed. Payed for ice cream in milk shake. None. My sausage roll not heated through still cold in middle . Wouldn't recommend or go back

They have the most amazing food, great atmosphere. This is always my first choice when I head through Ashburton. Yummy!!!

We had lunch here today. We met a terrible waitress. She took the spoon and knife away before we finish the food and told us it is rude behavior that we take the serviette from the counter. We will not go back again. One star for the food.

Had a great lunch here today. Nice friendly service with good knowledge about GF food, which helps when you are with two celiac people. Nice coffee too.
