Review Kelly's Cafe & Bar - Ashburton

From the moment we entered and were greeted by the staff and made to feel welcome, we knew this was going to be an enjoyable experience. The service was friendly and efficient. But the food was amazing. The beef schnitzel was incredible. Unfortunately we were just passing through so we will never be here again but so yourself a favour and eat here. The cakes looked amazing too. Thanks ladies for a great meal and never stop being cheery and friendly

What a little Gem. In the heart of Ashburton. Lovely friendly staff. Great food and Atmosphere. Quick service. Some cabinet food available. I had Beef Nachos. 10/10.

My family and I called in here yesterday and what a gem of a place the service was amazing & the food was so delicious we left nothing but crumbs on our plates! I will definitely recommend this wee place and be back! Thanks again guys from the family who's nephew ate 3 dishes haha

What a great place for a snack or a meal, sadly couldn't try the drinks as it's lunchtime and we're traveling. Best wait staff 👏 👌 👍 thanks Ashburton 😊

Wow, incredible wee place, alot of charm. Staff so helpful and friendly. Really Enjoyed my vegetarian nachos. The dessert platter for two was fantastic. According to a 4 and a half year old "Best chicken nuggets in the world" The free ice cream cone for under 12's after a kids meal was a really nice touch. Thanks so much.

They can make some food vegetarian but not much options, taste fine and portion is adequate. Wish they can launch vegan menu. Good place to go when you are hungry after 2.30pm and most eateries are closed.

First time here tonight. Great friendly service. Food was good, and reasonable price. Nice environment. But just had 2 big tv with horses racing on it. Maybe could do with some music. We will give it another go.

Was pleasantly surprised stopping in Ashburton visiting this Irish Cafe and Bar. it is a traditional Irish style pub with the added options of cafe style food. I had the beef nachos with a pint of Stella good quality at a reasonable price. Staff were very friendly with all the people who came in.

Not impressed, certainly not value for money $27+ for a salad and chili bread for lunch. would have expected alot more than some lettuce chicken strips and slices of bread with cheese and chili sauce..

Bloody awful.<br/><br/>Ordered a Steak Sandwich, I got some tiny bit of tough schnitzel full of gristle.<br/><br/>Worst steak sandwich ever, then they put some caramalised onion type thing all over the bread which was foul...service is real crap there too...it's as if you have to be a real moron to enjoy anything about this place.

I agree with everyone who has made a comment here, tuna and steak sandwiches are aweful but hot chocolates and pasta are really great and not a place to go if you are dining late <br/><br/>Bring back the old Kelly's when everybody loved it!!! (and the smoked chicken salad)

Awful. I had a very mediocre blt and my wife chose a "tuna open sandwich with tomato salsa." The salsa was basically a stewed tinned tomato thing and the tuna was rancid. Like cat food. Wasnt cheap either. The cat food concoction was $15. We just upped and left.

Had a steak sandwich there once, it had schnitzel in it. Poor quality for the price. Had a cake there once too, it had a big stone stuck in the middle of it. Late diners are not encouraged - be prepared to have the lights turned out on you at 8.30pm!

ice chocolates are yummi =] love them with a passion. <br/>the chips are however not worth the money.
