Review Little Bird Kitchen - Auckland Central

Donald Clark
Phenomenal. All gluten free or low gluten (oats) - but that's not the point. Great plant based dishes with carefully balanced flavors. I really enjoyed the Moroccan lentil soup. While it was possibly a little spicy, the spicing was authentically African. Somebody with me had their bowl which was a seasonal mix off everything from quinoa to mushrooms to pumpkin all delicately cooked. There was a large display off gluten-free and mostly if not all vegan treats on the dessert stand but I didn't get there as portions were pretty generous.

Absolutely sensational breakfast at Little Bird Kitchen!! Blew my mind how good everything was!! As a gf vegan I feel so valued by this menu šŸ˜‹ it was sooo tasty!! Great interior, lovely staff, and afforable high quality meals! What more could you want?

Came here for some me time. Food is so fresh and the desserts are phenomenal. Had the oat milk matcha latte, kimchi pancakes and coffee caramel tart - AMAZING. Every. Last. Bite. Will definitely be back again soon. Top 10 best restaurant in Auckland.

first time here after searching top rated brunch places in Ponsonby, service is very friendly and amazing, love the set out of the place, great atmosphere etc, the food menu is very simple, thereā€™s not a lot to choose from and the food itself tasted average, with such high reviews, I excepted wow amazing foodā€¦ thereā€™s a lot of drinks selection and I really like the smoothie.

Beautiful cafe with some incredible menu options it was hard to choose! Every plate of food that came out of the kitchen was very well presented with loads of fresh salad ingredients. Friendly staff, highly recommend a visit if your in Ponsonby. Will absolutely not disappoint

It's a great place for a plant based option . I enjoyed my food very much. The cafe environment was lovely and the staff were friendly. They also have a lot of salads ready to go with nice options of sweets from the cabinet as well. The smoothie was lovely. We enjoyed it very much. I would recommend this place. Just try it you'll love it.

Beautiful, peaceful and well-decorated cafe. The dahl and dosa was great! The raita and fermented chutney were very flavourful. I found the veg filling of the Vietnamese pancake a little oily and some of the herbs in there looked out of date, otherwise the crepe itself was a great texture. The pumpkin cheesecake and chai were amazing. But I wasnā€™t a fan of the coffee. The service can be a bit hit/miss at least in terms of warm/friendliness.

Little Bird Kitchen is a beautiful cafe with a wide selection of high-quality food and friendly staff. The food is inventive and tastes fantastic. The audio architecture is excellent, so it is effortless to talk. There is also a tiny shop with panty items, including vegan cheeses.

I tried the strawberry glow smoothie, itā€™s $19.9 and itā€™s got lots of good stuff inside including avocado, almond milk, collegin powder etc
Isabella
awesome vegan and gluten free food!!! the drink and milk options are unreal too šŸ˜ had the kimchi cheese toastie and cacao smoothie šŸ¤¤

I recently had a great experience at Little Bird Kitchen in Ponsonby, a plant-based cafe. I had the kimchi pancakes, which were delicious. The portion size was also generous, which was a nice surprise. But what really made my experience stand out was the great service I received from the staff. They were friendly and attentive, making sure my experience was top-notch. As a plant-based cafe, Little Bird Kitchen offers a wide range of vegan and vegetarian options, which is always appreciated. It's great to have a place like this where you can find tasty and affordable plant-based meals. Overall, I would highly recommend Little Bird Kitchen. Whether you're a fan of kimchi pancakes or just looking for a tasty and affordable plant-based meal, this is a great place to visit. The staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious - what more could you ask for?

Just delicious! We came again and again because itā€™s just so tasty. Best breakfast in Auckland! Kumara Hotcakes and Strawberry Goji nut Smoothie were our favourites. Vegan heaven!

While in Auckland, I went multiple times to enjoy as much as I could on the menu. I wish I could try everything!

Wow! Delicious goodies, lovely staff. My partner and I went to have a look and they were near closing. Everything we tried, was delicious. The highlight for myself was the chocolate lamington. And, they have a store in Takapuna! (Terrible photo, I know. But they were all exquisite.)

Really healthy vegan local with a lot young and hip people. Really delicious, high, quality fresh food and yummy drinks If you want to start your day with some healthy and good food go there and enjoy. We can fully recommend this place. Prices are average for Auckland and this area. If you are interested in further food and travel content, please follow us on Instagram: @hannahundclemens

Such a nice place, went there before my shift, never tried food this good. I was so surprised and amazed by the flavors. The quantity are really big, totally recommend this place. Will come back several times.

The best raspberry cheese cake Iā€™ve ever had. My partner & I had 3 plates between us, bird bowl, the Vietnamese crepe & sprouted toast. The bird bowl was incredible - & the sprouted toast too. But the Vietnamese crepe was not what we expected. The crepe itself was yummy with the sauce but the filling was just salad with 3 cashews. Very disappointing. And the staff not so friendly. Very trendy cafe

Absolutely, veganically, fantastically, magically delicious! Each dish we had over multiple meals had EXPLOSIONS of unexpected flavors and textures that should be added to the dictionary definition of "foodgasm". Normally, I can write ridiculously long reviews about each dish and what went wrong or right, but Little Bird makes that difficult as each dish has the same wow factor. From an avocado toastie that didn't taste like basic white girl overpriced bread to a vegan omlet that looked a little rabbit foodie at first but turned out to be one of the best dishes we've had in months, Little Bird gets it. Staff are crazy friendly and the vibe is so calm and laid back. This is a MUST go for any vegan in Auckland and we'll be coming back from the land of Disney and gators specifically to eat here!

Third time arriving here and no porridge avaliable because it is only available till 11am. The first time it was 10.55, the second time it was 11am and today it was 11.01 that the male waiting staff was my witness. I had kumara pancake instead. I wonder what I am going to have instead of porridge next time šŸ˜

I love the environment of little bird, this is a vegan restaurant from breakfast to dinner. I ordered an oat milk flat white which is very nice.

Came in for the waffles, host informed us the waffles were replaced with the hot cakes. 11/10 would eat again. They were fluffy, and had the perfect texture with some nuts mixed throughout. Caramelised banana was cooked to perfection. Chickpea omelette sounds weird but the presentation and flavour were again 11/10. The pesto went perfect with the garlicky goodness of the mushrooms and spinach in the omelette. Will be back again ASAP. You guys are awesome.
Food Lover
I lobe little bird so much because all their ingredients are of great quality. For a cafe that does all vegetarian/vegan food the taste is truely amazing. The menu has plenty adventurous options to choose from but I loved the kimchi burger was full of flavour and very low carb. What let this down though was there needed to be more walnut/mushroom mince with the nachos. But overall an amazing place I highly recommend!
FoodieBadoodie
I ordered the mushroom nachos and was disappointed with it. It was mostly raw cabbage underneath the mushrooms which were not your standard mushrooms. I guess I just had different expectations to what arrived at my table. Would be open to trying other dishes on the menu. They looked great.

one of the thickest shake iā€™ve ever had, tasted healthy for a shake! Beautiful interior šŸ˜
Wulala
overrated totallyā€¦ā€¦ the lady is not really friendly and the food is like that. and the lunch start on 11:00 we were there 10:40. and we have the food on the table is 11:30

Little Bird is one of my favourite wholefoods cafes! The food is amazing, with many options and raw sweet treats. Every time I come, I am welcomed by friendly and accommodating staff. Parking can be a little difficult, but 100% worth it!
Lee Vicky
Relaxing environment with comforting vegan foods. The service is also warm and friendly. Although the coffee is not my type and it's a bit difficult to find a car parking, I and my veg friends are more than happy to visit again shortly.

Staff/service: 5/5<br/>Venue: 4/5<br/>Price/portion: 3.5/5<br/><br/>The vegan food here is good and uses quality ingredients. Depending on what you order, some items can be not huge portion. The Cacao Triple Layer Cake flavour and taste is different compared to last year. I bought the whole cake last year and this year. Everyone tasted them gave the same feedback. It tasted so much heavier, kinda of too much coconut, it needs some crunchy element to the cake. The cake I ask them if they had change their recipe, they replied no the recipe is the same but the contract cake maker is changed. <br/><br/>Join Zomato Gold and get 1+1 on food or 2+2 on drinks. Little Bird is easily one of my favourite brunch spots in Auckland, so when I saw it had finally opened up for dinner, I thought I should give the evening menu a go. <br/>ā£<br/>Eggplant Parmigiana- I felt like something warm and comforting so I opted for the eggplant parmigiana, which came with a cashew bechamel sauce and side of pesto. Normally I find the dishes at LB to be bursting with flavour, but this somehow just missed the mark. It wasnā€™t a bad dish, but there just wasnā€™t anything particularly exciting about it. The bechamel lacked punch, the eggplant wasnā€™t quite as succulent as I would have liked, and the pesto would have been a nice flavour addition if there had been more than a small dollop of it on the plate. It simply didnā€™t match up to the hearty parmigiana I was craving. 6.5/10ā£ā£<br/>ā£ā£<br/>Salted Caramel Icecream Sanwich- Luckily, the meal was redeemed by the OUTSTANDING dessert. The ice cream itself was rich and creamy and you wouldnā€™t guess it was vegan, the chocolate biscuit casing was crunchy and flavourful and the salted caramel sauce was divine. The only element I didnā€™t like on the plate were the cacao nibs- I always find these to be flavourless and an inconvenience to eat. Everything else about this dish was outstanding 9.5/10 ā£ā£<br/>ā£ā£<br/>With so many great dinner options around Auckland, I probably wouldnā€™t come back here at night (unless itā€™s just for that ice cream sandwich). There is a really lovely, relaxed ambience here at night, however I think a little work needs to be done to get their dinner menu up to scratch. Having said that, Little Bird will continue to be a go-to brunch spot for me as it really is one of the best vegan eateries around!

Have been meaning to try this place for a while now and was pleasantly surprised with the service. I ordered the cacao granola type thing it was interesting, Iā€™m not a huge vegan food fan but I thought it was still good
Tom
Found this place after NZ Herald released an article about top restaurants in Auckland. Iā€™m health conscious so I decided to give this place a go. But I was dumb-founded to discover that itā€™s a vegan place because I actually like my meat. We ordered the summer bowl and the quesadilla. I like my meat so I felt they couldnā€™t meet my expectation but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they did. I would recommend both those dishes. A bit expensive though. So maybe this is a place for a treat as oppose to a regular visit. The quality of the food was amazing. So natural and surprisingly very tasty. The soft ambiance of the place is just right. The wooden and natural themes is everywhere wherever you look. It blends well with their cuisine. We felt at ease and could easily chat and relax
Imperius Malekith
Food here is of really high quality - no cheap oils and fillers. Good mix of herbs and spices, and well worth visiting again. The desserts are also full of flavour, but not sweet enough.<br/>It is quite pricey, which is ok as fresh veggies are really expensive in NZ.Ā <br/>They do lose 1 star as the guy behind the till was rude.
Mya S
I love how everything here has been made from nutritious ingredients, from scratch and with love. We came to try the evening menu and ordered the quesadilla, BBQ cauliflower, tempeh caesar salad, eggplant parmigiana and ice cream sandwich for dessert. What a feast! The food was wonderfully presented, and as you can see - devouring it was the best part. The service here was also lovely, the girls who serviced us were super nice and down to earth, and the premises were clean with a simple wooden aesthetic. Such a lovely restaurant for a catch up with an old friend!
Emily
Whenever I think of healthy food, I think of Little Bird. It is one of my go-to place to catch up with friends over lunch. Little bird is always very busy, but the service is relatively speedy.<br/><br/>I have never been to Little Bird with disappointment before. The food is fresh, healthy and full of flavour. They also have a lot of raw cakes, drinks and dessert.<br/><br/>Service always impeccable
Lbella236
Pictured is my $14.50 granola, which was a very sad portion size although quite filling. It needed some coconut yoghurt and fresh fruit to at least make the plate look fuller. My friend got the kimchi pancakes which were stodgy and dense.. covered in a pile of undressed rocket (forgotten the sauces). The pancake was lacking flavour. Both dishes needed more balance and flavour. Disappointed would not return.

WORM WORM WORM WORM WORM WORMšŸ› <br/>If you would like to have a green living worm šŸ› in your dish and feel sick to the stomach, by all means go to this place. We ordered the hot cakes and didnā€™t realize that there was a worm on the lime until we were about half way done. We confronted with the waiter about the situation, and all he did was gave us a NEW LEMON without apologizing whatsoever. Under this circumstance, they should have taken the entire dish away and offered us a new one. The service was a DISASTER and simply a cluster-f. On top of this, we ordered a cold-pressed drink which took them 15 minutes to serve. The waiter argued that there was a printing issue with their ordering system, while the other waitress said that she had forgotten to place the order. Two different stories back to back with no proper explanation or apology for wasting our time. Weā€™ve been multiple restaurants in Auckland and this one is the worst - overpriced, overhyped, no service and disgusting worms
Dine With Ella
Went here for lunch last Tuesday. My friends ordered the seasonal summer bowl and I ordered the nachos. My nachos were really yum! Giving it a three because of the cockroaches we saw. There was a dead one underneath the table next to us and another one across the restaurant, and a live one dropped from the roof onto our table towards the end of our meal. The restaurant offered my friend a free slice because she caught the cockroach but I donā€™t think I would go back because of this reason!
Georgina Wang
The cake is quite nice 4-star is only for the cake. The waffle is just ok for me and the coffee is the worst šŸ˜… and the price is a bit high for me coz I didnā€™t feel satisfied for the food I ordered.

My second trip to the Unbakery was as delightful as the first one more than a year ago. They have clearly maintained their standards.<br/><br/>The place is super busy! So expect a wait time if you turn up spontaneously like I did with my friend. Staff is super friendly and the service is quick.<br/><br/>The delicious vegan food, savoury and sweet, would make you want to come back to this place and bring your mates for sure. The drinks were refreshing and food was great. <br/>The highlight for me was definitely the Blueberry Cheesecake (light, refreshing and just delightful).<br/>Highly recommend there dessert!!!
Hannahhorse9
Absolutely delicious food! I had the hot cakes and cacao smoothie. The food is so wholesome, healthy and filling. Great having a vegan restaurant. A bit expensive but totally worth it. Quite busy at times. Totally recommended you visit!
Alan Chow
Overrated... feel it cost too much but then I guess this is vegan food in general. Lots of skinny people with perfect skin. Vegan food doing the trick I guess? Can see there has been lot of effort in making the fish but as a meat eater it does not make me want to convert at the slightest
šŸ˜Ž
Have been here numerous times and every time the food has been amazing! The kimchi pancakes are a favourite and also had the cacao superfoods smoothie which was very good also.
Alice In New Zealand
Nice place:) i had kimchi pancake and omelette with home made milk. Was really good :) for the milk, they made it bugger portion for us. Its healthy brunch spot:) kind staff:)
Simone Press
love this spot - super creative recipes and very cool that itā€™s completely vegan ! the vietnamese crepe is delicious and the kimchee pancakes are heavenly. a little miffed they got rid of the kumara pancakes for breakfast and that the kimchee pancakes are now two instead of one - but still solid!
Holly Swallow
I know that most health kick vegan places are expensive, but thereā€™s reasonable prices and I think Little Bird crosses that line. <br/>Iā€™ve only eaten cabinet food, but wouldnā€™t want to splash out $18.5 for a seed bagel that only has avo, and sprouts on it - not even salmon! (Yes I know itā€™s a vegan place but Iā€™m comparing) <br/>The raspberry cacao cheesecake is the best thing in their cabinet, the rest is just average compared to most eateries across Auckland now tapping into the RSF, vegan treat game. <br/>The drink menu is way too expensive - it doesnā€™t cost $8 to make an almond milk turmeric latte. <br/>
Ronagrail Totanes
Good range of drinks and food items. This made it harder to choose. The staff are very friendly and polite. The food was very filling. I wish cabinet items were cheaper but over all very good service!

I came here as I had an hour to spare before my appointment. I walked to the counter and the server was drinking some sort of shake behind the counter. She saw me and eyed me but didn't say hi or anything. I came by myself. I looked around for menu and there wasn't any so I asked her for the menu. She just said the menu was by the door. I saw the menus in a box with a sign that says "please wait to be seated". So I looked through the menu and waiting to be seated. She has finished her drink but didn't come to seat me. So I stood by the door for a few mins and still nothing happened. Finally another server came to serve someone else and I asked can I sit anywhere? To which he nodded.<br/>I found a table and sat down. The menu looked great but nobody came to take my order after 15 mins. (as oppose to 5 mins with the couple who sat at the table next to me) I finally went to the counter to order. By then I think 20 mins already gone pass so I just ordered a drink and cabinet food. I felt uncomfortable during the whole process. Even more uncomfortable as I came alone.<br/>It wasn't a busy time yet and I'm disappointed at the service. The food took a bit of time to prepare although it was just cabinet food and a drink.<br/>The food is Instagram worthy but I didn't finish the drink. The drink was not what I expected, tasted very bland. Maybe I am not used to nut milk although I love coconut/soy/rice milk<br/>It has high ratings but I probably won't come again.
Aseel Al-azi
The atmosphere was nice but the food was quite the let down. We all felt like we were being rushed to order, eat and leave although there was empty tables at the cafe. Would not come again unless bland food is what I crave.
Sassy Radish
Came here with a few friends, Service was great. We waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated, this was expected because it is very busy. The food was ok.. wouldn't rave on about it too be honest. I ordered the Indian Probiotic Bowl, the chickpeas were nicely spiced but the pumpkin was very oily and too rich. Overall the Indian Probiotic Bowl could be improved in flavour with a few tweaks. Would recommend the soup of the day thought!! that was delicious. Also the salads and juices were terrific in the cabinet.

Understandably, a highly rated cafe. Lovely zen. Friendly and polite staff. We had the Chia Bircher and kumara pancakes. Found the food to be beautifully presented, balanced and fresh. Very grateful that the Bircher was not sweet, which is a personal preference. Would definitely go back if a resident of Auckland.

When you eat you aim to find that moment of happiness that will give you the ultimate satisfaction (well i do anyway). With the trends and influences of healthy eating upon us we find new spots popping up serving up plant based raw meals. When you think of this it doesnā€™t really shout yes that is for me.Ā Well this weekend I took a step closer to the healthy zone and dined for lunch at Little Bird Unbakery in Ponsonby.
Kate Grant
Incredible, creative, clever food. Had a really delicious meal here, a shame about the wait for a table and how cramped it was - but not surprising considering the quality of their food. Will defiantly eat here again.
Nadine
Service, food and atmosphere was all amazing! Definitely coming back again. <br/>Our waitress was vet friendly and helped out with questions we had. So many options, I wanted to try everything !!

First time eating raw vegan food and it was delicious! The decor was amazing, there were activities for kids and the space was cleverly utilised. The staff was lovely and polite and our food was served promptly. Ordered the Benedict, BLT and Raw Cacao Hot Chocolate. We did end up eating the chocolate instead of putting in the drink (my bad) but the cashews in the buns were really interesting! We also grabbed a Raspberry Ginger Tart and Cookies and Cream Cake from the recommendations of a staff member. AND GOLLY IT WAS DELICIOUS! If youā€™re going to grab anything! Grab the Raspberry Ginger Tart!!!
Xtineph
Excellent cafe. Worth visiting just for their desserts which are amazing. Friendly, hip, and every dish seems delicious. Really interesting selection of raw food. Two improvements would be to label which foods are actually raw and to provide a selection of raw foods that are onion and garlic free. But I'll still give them 5
Malika Kanjee
I tried a slice of the chocolate hazelnut tart - and it was amazing! The tartā€™s filling has a dreamy mousse-like texture that hits all the right spots.
Ida
My all-time favourite vegan cafe! 11/10 recommend, you won't be let down by the food. Can vouch for the latte, green pressed juice, smashed avocado & kumara french toast. Also had an assortment of their sweet treats at the counter! So tasty and all my non-vegan friends have been immensely impressed.<br/><br/>Only downfall is the service. As it is a very popular venue, the place is always full. Getting a seat on the weekend is challenging and often involves a 20 minute wait. The staff also may forget about you/ are slow.
Sara Sergejew
I didn't like this place- but when I said so my review was removed. Are you not allowed to dislike not being served? Well I found the food limited and not as described. I found the lack of service, and being ignored to be rude. I found the premises to lack an outdoor area, because it does. My opinion differs from others here, but it is my own. Hopefully this is not too offensive!? It was pretty offensive to be treated that way.....
Shelby Niuloa
I just love this little place, the smoothies and kimchi pancakes are the best really enjoy visiting a vegan friendly place. Great vibes and awesome food.

Had the apple muffin with coconut icing. My mouth enjoyed the exotic taste of raw goodness. My companion had a lovely cheesecake which looked fab and delicious. The taste delivered beyond expectations. The chef has taken care in its preparation. Thanks.
Rena Holstein
It's pretty easy to miss at first but once you know where it's located you'll never forget! The setting and decoration is really nice as well as the staff is very polite! The prices for the meals are definitely worth it as it stuffs you and the portions are massive (not as in the Cafe in Britomart). Overall a good experience! Would definitely come back here every now and then!
Isabella
Great place for raw, no dairy or meat options. I'm definitely not the most health conscious so a place like Little Bird where you get pretty good tasting food that's not bad for you is a winner! I'd recommend the raw taco plate here :)
Amesirv
Food and coffee was awesome! Tried the kimchi and chickpea pancake with the Turkish delight espresso - both were incredible!! Would give the food 5/5 and will definitely be back to try other items on the menu and their sweet treats in the cabinet.
Kelsie Smith
I do love Little Bird, mostly because I like not feeling bad about what I eat and there's no chance of that here. Food is either hit or miss. For instance the Pad Thai and Vege Wrap have been highlights, while some of the sweeter items leave a bit to be desired. I've dined in a couple of times, with service being a bit like the food. Once we were served dessert and waited 25mins before having to ask where our main food was. Tables are seated too close together for my liking. Juices are amazing, I've actually done the cleanse from here and can highly recommend. The salad included with that is amazing! Overall, a little above average.

If you're normally carnivorous (me) but are dining with herbivores this is the place to go. Great food, good service, good wait time. That and after you walk out feeling good without the guilt. <br/><br/>THE FOOD<br/><br/>Autumn bird bowl (3.5/5) - This dish has a little bit of everything in it and more filling so decent if your hungry. I enjoyed it but my rating of this dish might be biased seeing as I'm comparing it to the burger I had. <br/><br/>Kimchi Burger (4.7/5) - For the meateaters this is the way to go. If I hadn't of known this place was vegan it could've fooled me. Now I admit i made the mistake of trying to eat it with my hand...big mistake, use the fork amd knife. <br/><br/>Milkshake (5/5) - I can't remember what this was in the menu, my mate ordered, I had a sip and went to the waitress "I want one of these". I'm not usually a sweet tooth ir milkshake lover since im not fond if the after taste. But this was the best milkshake I've had so far (it should be since it cost me $15...ouch) <br/><br/>THE ENVIRONMENT (3.4/5) <br/>I enjoyed the decor and the overall warmth of this place. No music and even when packed you can still converse quiet easily. <br/><br/>THE SERVICE (4.5/5) <br/>From the get go the wait staff were quiet friendly. What was the big point of dofference to me was when the waitress could truly speak to each dish. I found it difficult with some places where when asked waitresses couldn't tell me ingredients or confidently describe the taste of dishes, here the waitress was even able to speak to the exact spices i dishes, very well trained. <br/><br/>WORTH IT? <br/>The price was pretty steep but that said was def worth it.
Dini
Really good food, lovely warm meals for a cold day, gorgeous restaurant, great ambience, friendly staff. Find the cakes to be quite pricey for what they are however.
Vaibhavkursija
Ordered the chocolate raspberry cheese cake. The raspberry really blended well with the chocolate and despite of being gluten free, it tasted amazing! Will definitely go back on other occasions. Highly Recommended!
Lisa Marie
Fabulous food, amazing staff and such a cool little cafe. Highly recommend to anyone who loves raw food options. Everything is tasty and fresh and they have a good selection of meals.<br/>If I could eat here everyday I would. A little pricer than other places, but absoutely worth it for the quality of the food. <br/>Coffe selection is great as well. :)
Chomnomnom
Cosy little cafe on Summer Street, full of vegan goodness. We had the chia bircher, chickpea omelette and the raw goodness salad. Food and drinks were good, and though there was an issue with the Bircher, rating given at how professional the staff were in sorting it quickly without fuss. Service was a bit here and there, but all in all, had a good time and will be back to try the sweets next time!
Alwayseating
I hit this place up most mornings for the Detox Juice or protein smoothie - Both bloody good!<br/><br/>For a place that does, no dairy or meat its provides some great options! I had the smash avo with walnut cheese on there delicious bread.<br/><br/>For a change for healthy, clean food options, definitely head to Little Bird.
Ugeshni Khan
A little on the pricey side is the only negative thing I can say about this place. Considering that the food is all raw and organic and probably takes days to prepare, that accounts for the high price. I initially started going here for their cheesecakes. Simply to die for. Have yet to find a better raw cheesecake than what they do. We had the green curry here a while back and it was amazing. Their food is so flavourful which is unexpected considering things aren't cooked. I love the look of the place, it's just fresh, calm and inviting. The wait staff are really friendly and meals come out really quick. It really is impressive, and this comment isĀ  coming from an avid meat eater!
Siobhan
Overpriced and overrated. <br/><br/>The food and drinks were interesting but the biggest disappointment was the awkward service. Our waitress did not know what she was doing, we had to ask for water but they would not leave a carafe for our table of 6, they would bring our order over but wouldn't clear our finished dishes despite there being no room, and she promised to return to our table at 11am so we could place our orders from the lunch menu but forgot. <br/><br/>What a shame.
Tan.ned
One of the best clean eating cafes I've ever tried! It's a bit tricky to find because it's tucked away in the corner but just lookout for a little bird house and you'll be on your way to enjoying one of the best places! Highly recommend their Portobello Benedict dishes
Sam Smith
I come here with a friend who is vegan. Although I am not all about the vegan lifestyle. I do really enjoy coming here for a smoothie or a quick bite to eat without feeling bad about myself and what I get!!
Michelle S
Cafe is decent sized and tables are nicely spread out. I bought my boyfriend here and being a meat lover, there was nothing that appealed to him and he ended up hating the place. I on the other hand is more of a vegetable person and loved my meal! I had the Mexican bowl and it was perfect! The slices were nice as well. I recommend the cookies and cream one. The staff could have been a bit more friendly however
Kathleen Joyce-Reweti
This place is amazing. Food is such good quality and they put a lot of Effort into creating new dishes plus sticking with a few solid meals. It's expensive but worth it
Kylie
Firstly, I really liked the decor of the place. The staff were lovely and stopped by often to check up on us and refill our water. <br/><br/>I ordered the Kimchi Burger, which was a lot better than I expected and the kale chips on the side were also good. I'd love to come back for breakfast and try some of their breakfast bowls! Both friends that I came with ordered the Bird Bowl, which really is overflowing with greens and quite generous with the avocado. <br/><br/>From their merchandise, I also purchased from granola which has been one of my absolute favourites.
Jess-Louise Holmes
The caramel slice here is my all time favorite, it's not too sweet, a solid 10/10 in the tum tum bc it's yum yum! The smoothies here are also Hella yummy

Went to little bird unbakery when it first become popular on Instagram and everyone was talking about this 'vegan/healthy/gluten free' cafĆ©. I got super excited so I thinkĀ I had too high of hopes. I ordered the sprouted granola and nut milk with a banana nut milk drink. Wasn't really my thing to be honest. I did take away a blueberry raw cheesecake and that was very nice. Service was okay, they were super busy so didn't have much interaction with the staff.Ā I wouldn't go back to be honest but would recommended to anyoneĀ who is vegan/gluten free/healthy eating.

Service was great, everyone was friendly and the water glasses never go empty. But that's just the beginning. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so homey and welcoming that one can't help but be content. The food, of course, was absolutely delicious. Mom and I had the tacos, one of each variety, which were amazing. All the food everyone around us was having looked just as good and we can't wait to come back and try it all. All in all, our experience with Little Bird today was incredible - everything we expected & a whole lot more. Thanks to everybody working so hard at Summer Street to leave your customers this happy šŸ˜Š

Lovely atmosphere, delicious food, attentive staff and cool mini shop :) love the smoothie bowls! My family enjoyed the food too, they said they all felt light but satisfied after their meals, and my father particularly enjoyed his spicy curry dish
Tiana Meintjes
Absolutely love everything about this place! Delicious food, really cool vibe and friendly staff. Their cacoa smoothie is to die for and their cookies and cream slice is spectacular. I love how delicious and healthy everything is šŸ˜ only thing I would complain about is PLEASE BRING BACK YOUR WAFFLES!
Ana
I love the ambience and layout of this place, especially in comparison with its tiny Britomart counterpart! <br/><br/>The menu is lovely, offering seasonal produce and there is a lot to choose from. I've been here a few times and I've had the sprouted bread ($19) and Bird Bowl ($21). <br/><br/>They've both been nice, but for the price, I wish there'd been more on the plate as it wasn't as satisfying or filling as I'd hoped! <br/><br/>However, cabinet cakes are lovely and I would definitely go back for the sweet treats on offer.

Really love the industrial styled interior decor and easy vibe here.<br/><br/>For a raw food/vegan place the dishes are absolutely delicious! I had the the kimchi pancakes which was perfect. Husband's buckwheat waffles were lovely too, had nice textures and flavoured beautifully with ginger and poached pear.Ā <br/><br/>The shakes were nice too, thick and sweetened with natural ingredients like banana and dates.Ā <br/><br/>The price is a bit higher - but that is normal for vegan food due to the minimally processed Ā ingredients they use. Wish there were more healthy places like this in New Zealand!

I have visited this place 3 times now and every time I eat their food it makes me feel ill and very sick after. First of all its overpriced for what it is and secondly the staff isn't friendly or helpful at all.
Essi
Lovely but busy place (at the sunny Saturday afternoon). Friendly staff as usually in NZ. Interesting, tasty and raw menu! Very delicious and filling bagel and good coffee. Heaven for vegan or/and paleo person. Two minuses: almost every food include coconut and there is no quiet place to enjoy the food and take a time for your self.
Foodie Chronicles
Love this place! I'm not vegan but I love the food here, always so tasty with great portion sizes! Also a really nice atmosphere, perfect for a Sunday morning!

Warning - never ever come here if you have any type of nut or other food allergy. With very specific dietary requirements I thought this would be a relatively safe place to go considering the aptly described meals and quality of the healthy ingredients. I ordered the kim chi burger and kale, however upon taking one tiny bite of the kale I suffered an allergic reaction and had to go straight to the hospital. When asked what was in the kale chips the waitress replied she wasn't sure and said there was lots of cashews in everything. Staff were very unhelpful and did not display the slightest concern. I'm sure this place would be great for most, however I think it would be helpful to be able to have a more specific exhaustive list of ingredients, as I did ask the waitress what was in it to which she vaguely named a few of the components. Setting my allergic reaction aside, the burger was very scant on onions and avocado, however the other dishes that were ordered looked nice. Will never be setting foot in a little bird again thanks very much

I'm not a vegan but, I love Little Bird so much! Delicious food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. It's very busy at peak times and there is often a short wait but, it's worth it!

Always love coming to Little Bird, the service is always amazing! They have the most delish menu of healthy foods, and raw cheesecakes and slices!!! yum!

Little Bird in Kingsland over the past five plus years has consistently been the best cafe of its type in Auckland. Compared to the two more recent competitors along the same strip, Little Bird out does them on every measure. The other two cafes serve up less quality food, less in portion size, less honest organic ingredients, and less genuine care. The ethos of Little Bird Unbakery is unsurpassed locally. The changing menu gives a wonderful array of varied sweet and savoury meals, the spiced hot chocolate is the best in town, and the service is great. Little Bird offers excellent products for sale on site at the Kingsland Cafe, as well as at Summer St in Ponsonby. Customers can buys teas, coconut products, and other ingredients which are utilised in Little Bird food. The strawberry cheesecake is beautiful, and the cold brew coffee with coconut sugar and hazelnut milk is sublime. Each branch of Little Bird carries the honesty and integrity of its founders, and because of this our family will not be returning to the other two - far meaner spirited - similarly focused businesses aiming to poach Little Bird customers along the Kingsland strip.
Meet & Eat
How exciting! Our trip to Little Bird was so pleasant and we loved exploring the interesting menu. Prices are a bit more expensive, but totally worth it, as the food is organic and vegan. <br/><br/>We are still getting to know the culinary scene in New Zealand and this was truly an interesting and exciting experience. We loved the chocolate chia pudding, but still have to get used to the texture. Food was presented in a beautiful way. Will definitely be visiting again soon!
Christian
Heard about their popular Acai Berry Bowl so we decided to visit this place for some afternoon energy charge. It's nice place with very efficient friendly staff. Lots of options including some nice sweet treats. The Acai Berry Bowl was nice and smooth but with a price tag of $14.50 each I would have preferred a bit more toppings eg. Chia seeds, coconut crumble and etc but overall it's good.

This place is amazing! Lots more seating in ponsonby than Kingsland but can sure get busy! I had a smoothie and oh my god it was delicious! So nice to actually be able to taste the flavours of the fruit and even have it taste a bit bitter because there is no added sugar! I had he tacos also and could not believe how delicious the raw soft taco shells were! The whole fish was filled with flavour and was not bland at all! Would reccommend very pleased šŸ‘

Raw desserts... yes! Fantastic variety of desserts available, price is decent for portion size and they are so decadent and yummy. Cake for breakfast anyone?
Purita Mok
I love Little Bird's desserts. They are always so delicious and filling. My favourites are the cacao raspberry cheesecake and the espresso cheesecake! I love how many other desserts there are to choose from too.
Cassandra
Another favourite cafe of mine. Been here twice and both times staff were very friendly and welcoming. I have tried the buckwheat waffles which are the best waffles Iv had and also the Thai green curry which had very nice flavours. I have also tried the cacao smoothie and the ice coffee, both were really good. Downside is just parking but you would expect that in Ponsonby. It can also get quiet busy but that just shows how popular it is. Will defiantly be coming back and would recommend to others.

Love this spot! From the brick walls, cute pots of greenery and nothing but a simple little bird house adorned on the outside. <br/>My sister and I visited for lunch today and were pleasantly surprised by this treasure. <br/>My sister had the Portebello Benedict which looked absolutely stunning and I ordered the Raw tacos (mixed spiced mushrooms). Both dishes were very tasty and filling, such a guilt free lunch! The ingredients all healthy tasting on their own but the combination of flavors in both dishes were great! <br/>We also shared a Berry Anti oxidizer - I can't fault it - absolutely delicious. <br/>My sister and I will definitely be revisiting in future! <br/>

Highly recommend the Kumara gnocchi (cooked), raspberry ginger tart, berry cheesecake, caramel slice, and chocolate log. Fashionable little raw organic cafe.
Alison Lally
Loved the smoothes - best I have had - salad a bit rank and was not as fresh as I would have expected, expected amazing salads disappointed

Love this place to bits! Its often hard to get seating on the weekends so pays to show up early. I usually come here with friends for dessert, their raw cheesecakes and tarts are AMAZING as is their caramel slice! They match well with a Macadamia matcha latte.
Dl Pwat
Very nice place that exceeded my expectations! Only downside is obviously parking. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was great and came out fast as well! I had the buckwheat waffle which I would highly recommend to others. Looking forward to returning to try other options.
FoodBin
Absolutely delicious! Not sure what kind of vegan drugs are used but everything we tried during our first lunch visit was simply amazing.<br/><br/>This coming from an avid meat eater says it all. All food and drinks are packed full of flavour. Although you do pay premium for the super premium organic ingredients being used, it's totally worth it.<br/><br/>Already keen to go back to try something new!<br/><br/>Best of the best :<br/>Thai green curry<br/>Espresso cheesecake<br/>Detox green smoothie (if you dare! )

Nice little spot with unique vegan food and a nice selection raw slices but very poor service. Came here on a busy Sunday and waited 20 minutes to be seated. We then we had to wave down a waiter because nobody returned to take our order. There seemed to be no system or anyone overseeing the staff. No water refill. Waited about 30 minutes for coffee which they seem to have forgotten and about 40 minutes for food to come. Not sure if I would return after that experience.

Decided to finally check out this place after seeing it on zomato for a really long time! <br/><br/>My cousin and I went to the Little Bird in Kingsland first, but after trying to find parking for ages, we decided to go to the one in Ponsonby as it was open for longer too. <br/><br/>I had read some reviews on zomato and definitely agree with the rating of this place! The design of it is really nice and the food was really good too. <br/><br/>I ordered the Berries and buckwheat waffle along with the cacao superfoods smoothie. My cousin ordered the lunch spring bowl and a tropical green smoothie. <br/><br/>We didn't have to wait too long considering how busy they were. The food had arrived and everything was very nice. My waffle tasted fresh with the berries and had a nice coconut matcha whip cream with it too. The drink was chocolate but did taste healthy as it was full of good things. My cousins spring bowl had lots of yum components in it including quinoa, kale salad and potatoes - as well as half an avocado. Her drink was a bit tangy but i liked the aftertaste of it. <br/><br/>After our lunch, we went to pay but also got a passionfruit cheesecake to take home; yum and filled with a lot of passionfruit. <br/><br/>Staff were friendly and observant. The atmosphere was super nice. <br/><br/>Overall a good experience and would recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. Although, parking is a hassle as Ponsonby does get quite busy - we had to park a really long way down Summer street :)
Thegreeats
Lovely staff, very natural interior decor which makes the cafe seem cosy.<br/>They have a separate section to sell some of their healthy organic goods! So expensive but so delicious :(<br/>Their granola bowl is so good but so are their winter and summer bowls which change seasonally<br/>High recommend their chemex coffee and cacao smoothie !<br/>Not cheap but worth every once in a while :)
Believeinyourself
Great vegan and gluten free eatery, it's beautifully set up and beautiful to sit in. The menu is extensive and the portion sizes plentiful. We had the bagel and the kimchi pancakes, delicious! With 3 outlets it's definitely a place to try!
Maddie
Came here for breakfast this morning. I ordered the berry antioxidiser smoothie which was really good! And my friend and I both ordered the buckwheat waffles! There was quite a wait for them - which was explained by our waitress, which we were fine with. We only had to wait about 20 minutes which wasn't too bad. The waffles were quite nice but the berry coulis was really strong! The staff took my friends tea off the bill in apologies for the meals taking a while. I'm not sure if I would return! There isn't a lot to choose from on the menu, but the cabinet food is delicious and is presented amazingly!
Caitlin Snodgrass
I can never get enough of the cacao superfoods smoothie. My favourite snack. Am always purchasing this. Healthy chocolate frappe yes please. The sweets cabinet here is always amazing. Love the ginger slice, caramel slice, carrot cake the most but have tried 95% of the cabinet sweets and love absolutely all of them! They always taste amazing. Have only ever had one I didn't like which was he lemon meringue. The granolas are great to take on the go for breakfast. If dining in definitely go for waffles. The bird bowls are fab for lunch. Love coming here
Julia Liu
I've always always always wanted to try the cakes from Little Bird Unbakery and finally, I had my first slice at the Taste of Auckland and it was amazing! <br/><br/>I got the strawberry cheesecake. I'm normally not a cheesecake person, but this was an exception. The texture was so smooth and it didn't have a strong cheese flavor at all. The balance was just right! I also love how these cakes are made with healthy, organic ingredients! I'm definitely going to go visit one of their stores... Hopefully, in the near future!
G
Had the acai bowl which was good but perhaps more suited as a summer meal. It was basically like a smoothie but in a more filling form. This raw food theme was great and there's not much I can fault although neither would I rave about it.
Saffron Clark
The food and service is fantastic! Truly beautiful food - fresh and created with passion and love. It's a party for the taste buds and feels like you're really doing great things for your body whenever you eat here. It is very busy, I've left due to the line or wait (though of course that can only mean it's because they're so good at what they do). It is also very expensive, so really is a special treat for me.
Sophia Ignateva
The food is amazing! Especially the cakes! I love the variety for breakfasts/lunches! Granola is really good, as well as milkshakes! Favourite place in Auckland, thanks to owners for it!
MUNTA
I was introduced to Little Bird a year ago and started to frequent the place and rave to all who would listen about the delicious and nutritious food and smoothies. After a few months of staying away due to my work no longer being in Ponsonby, I made a special trip to pick up a piece of cheesecake only to find that the portions are now noticeably smaller than they used to be! I support your food philosophy but this makes it harder to justify spending $9 on one small piece of cake. Disappointing. Bring back larger portions again please!
Pamela Hutchinson
After a little Saturday morning yoga.. this place hit the spot.. Loved it heard so much about it.. Definitely be back again gorgeous food yay
Rosie Kaye
Exorbitant pricing! First of all, this place is so understated from the outside - no signage out front, just the name of the cafe in grey lettering on the front window so before we set foot inside, slightly stressed out and running late! The cafe was very busy as to be expected on a Saturday morning. We were sandwiched into a corner against the front window which involved either squeezing in behind two tables or going round and leaping half a metre down a step. The menu was rather large but holy cow - this place is expensive! So we trotted to the cabinet, to find tiny slices of tarts for $8! Admittedly very attractive looking and very tasty but come on, don't be stingey with portions! I ordered a cappuccino - no espresso coffee I was told, say what!?! So I got a filtered coffee with nutty milk which looked all mottled but tasted OK, like the kind you make at home. Service was friendly however, they did get the order confused but it was handled fine. I won't come back unless I win Lotto.
Livi Baker
One of my favourite places to eat! Love introducing people to this place if they don't already know about it. A fun way to eat healthy and doesn't even taste like you are. Both the cabinet food and menu food is delicious; i've never had a bad meal there! Definitely recommend!
Anna Daley
A very tasty little meal without the guilt. <br/><br/>Their cheese cakes are awesome! So hard to believe their is no dairy in them. And the Mexican plates are always a winner too.<br/><br/>This place is insanely busy all the time so service can be a bit lacking at times.
Georgina Roberts
I went to little bird for lunch yesterday after desperately wanting to pay a visit for months. <br/>The reputation it upholds and cult status within the vegan food scene was promising , but to be honest I was slightly let down.<br/>I ordered the kimchi burger with cavalo nero chips which had great flavours and obviously had a lot of preparation go in to it , but the presentation was horrible - it looked like it had just been shoved on to the plate and was really lacking compared to other people's and photos I've seen (3 chips and only one slice of tomato, with wilted brown lettuce). 3/5<br/>Although the burger tasted great, what was disappointing was the service, two groups arrived after me and we're both served first and had their orders come out before mine and although my glass was empty they didn't refill it as they did for other tables - this may be because I was a lone girl while the others were in groups so more important , but even so it was really rude. Also, the staff had no idea which items were raw or how the burger was cooked and got slightly impatient when I asked . 2/5<br/>Overall I loved the atmosphere of the space and the food was full of flavour (although slightly too smothered in oily sauce) , the novelty of such an innovative culinary experience was great, but the rudeness of the staff was really off putting especially for a business built on well being and health .

Have been so excited to try this place. As I am l quite health conscious, and I'm so glad I went. This place has such an extensive menu from healthy mueslis to salads etc, and if you love tea their range was incredible more than I could imagine. In the end I went for the bird bowl which was delicious and afterwards I didn't have that bloated feeling which was a plus. My friends went for smoothies for their drunk but I opted for honey/caramel flavour tea which was amazing. After our meals everyone must try one of their cheesecakes, being dairy free I didn't feel as though I was eating huge fatty cheesecake so I was surprised. Overall I would recommend to anyone such cute lil place with healthy/yummy food what's not to love. 10/10 for sure. :)

Little Birds has to be my favourite cafĆ© in Auckland!! Every time we come up to Auckland, I make it a priority to get something from here! Iā€™ve been here so many times, but surprisingly, Iā€™ve only managed to have a sit down meal here twice, because theyā€™re always so busy!! But Iā€™ve bought plenty of treats to take away! I actually think I spend too much here!<br/><br/>The first time I ate here was in March 2015:<br/><br/>My mum and I came here for lunch one day. It was so busy, we had to wait for about 15 minutes. I didnā€™t mind this, as it gave me a chance to have a look at their menu. Iā€™m so indecisive, it takes me ages to choose, especially when everything looks good! I asked one of the waitresses what she would recommend, or whatā€™s popular, and she told me the bird bowl! I didnā€™t oblige, and happily chose that. By the time I made my decision, our table was ready which was perfect! <br/><br/>We sat in a corner down below. It was strange taking a big step down into a lower level, but it was fun. We sat by the window, which was nice. It didnā€™t take long before our meal arrived. It was winter, so I got the winter bird bowl. It was exactly how I pictured! The bowl included half an avocado drizzled in a tahini sauce, peaches, kale, mushrooms, flax crackers, and some other components I wasnā€™t too sure of. It was delicious!! I love how you get to try bits of everything. Itā€™s a great meal to get if youā€™re indecisive like me!<br/><br/> My mum got the peach salad with wild rice. She loved hers, and cant wait to go back!<br/><br/>The last time I ate here was in August 2015:<br/><br/>Surprisingly, it was only a 5 minute wait this time, but it was still really busy! My mum and I came here for lunch on my birthday weekend in Auckland. I knew what I wanted this time! I got the lasagna, and my mum got the burger. I also got their shake special too! It was strawberry, mint, lemon, honey, banana and some other stuff. When our waitress explained what was in it, I asked her if it was thick/creamy like a milkshake. She said it was, but I was a bit disappointed to find that it wasnā€™t ā˜¹ It was a bit tangy/sour for my liking. But its good if you want a refreshing drink! My mum got the tropical green smoothie. <br/><br/>Our meals came out quite fast, considering how busy they were. I was so happy with the presentation of our meals!! They were definitely Instagram worthy! My first bite into my meal was delicious!! I donā€™t know how they did it, but it was amazing! The creamy layers and vegetables worked so well together!! I love how when you cut into it, the ā€œwhite sauceā€ just oozes out! Its nice to know that there was nothing unhealthy in it too!<br/><br/>My mum enjoyed her meal too! I tried a bit of hers, and the burger was a little bit spicy. The leafy chips on the side were so crispy and tasty! Id eat them over hot potato chips any day!!Ā <br/><br/>Overall both times we came here, was a wonderful experience! Our meals never disappointed us, and the service was great!! I love how you can eat your meal, and leave the place not feeling heavy and bloated afterwards! Gluten free, dairy free, refined sugar free, egg free and vegan!! I think this place has got healthy food made to the best!Ā <br/><br/>P.S Iā€™ve taken away so many treats from here now! I thought itā€™d be a bit hard to write about each and everyone one, so I just wrote about the meals I ate here. But ill be posting photos of the raw treats we got to take away! Donā€™t judge how many Iā€™ve bought! I think most of my bank account has been spent here

Long wait for a table, felt a wee bit chaotic & disorganised. Only had a chemex with hazelnut milk which was great. Friend had a buddha bowl which looked (and apparently tasted delicious). Would rate Mondays over LBU based on environment and service I think.
Foodie101
This place is perfect for those with allergies, would definitely recommend the Tacoes and their cheesecakes are to die for, especially the cookies and cream
Caroline Barrett
Little Bird Bakery isn't your typical cafe and if your not into raw/vegan foods then I don't recommend it. Ā Personally, I love the concept and I don't think that their are not enough places like this around in Auckland.<br/>I came here for lunch on my Birthday and ordered the Portabella Bene - I was presently surprised by how light and healthy the meal felt; not your typical Eggs Benedict that's for sure. Ā I have no idea how they make the 'hollandaise sauce' but you can tell that it defiantly isn't made from a shit load of butter etc.<br/>All in all, I think this place is lovely - its not somewhere I could eat at regularly simply because I like meat but its perfect for the occasional visit.
Hanna Kose
Such a lovely place for people who have specific diet requirements- or just anyone who wants truly delicious, nourishing food! Absolutely love it!
Carly Hanna
ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS VEGAN FOOD! Wish I could have my own private Little Bird chefs in my kitchen! Cute, cosy cafe in Ponsonby with friendly staff and mouthwatering food! Buckwheat waffles taste even better than they look, and went down even better alongside the raw cacao mug. Definitely my favourite vegan eatery around. Thank you Little Bird for your existence :D
GideonMarisa MasterchefNz2015
Overpriced , and totally a whole new sphere of Ponsonby pricing!!! If only the "novelty" factor could rub off this place it's unique market segmentation would shine through! And sort out the parking Sarah Forsyth #g7

I love this place but I do think if you're not used to eating raw food or if you've been eating a lot of fatty food it can be hard to digest! My all time favorite is the Mexican taco plate. Amazing selection of herbal teas. The natural coffees can be a bit strange but if you're up for something new give it a go. Love the cheesecakes but they are so filling and always have to take half home. This place is always packed and sometimes there's a waiting list but it's worth the wait.

To start off I am neither vegan or vegetarian but i thought i would give this place a go. First impression of the place really nice and spacious, nice decor and menus. Service was very fast and friendly. We ordered the banana nut milk and the spicy hot chocolate. The nut milk was delicious and the hot chocolate... Not so much far too spicy and no taste of chocolate besides the sprinkles on top. Ordered the BLAT with coconut bacon, surprisingly tasted similar to bacon and the mushroom benny was also surprisingly yummy. Overall great first try at raw/vegan food.
Taemoata Fong
This was my first time eating at a vegetarian/vegan restaurant so I didn't know what to expect. I ordered the portobello Benedict and a green smoothie. It was refreshing to eat something different and I actually felt really good and refreshed once I was done.<br/><br/>Although it was not a traditional Benedict, it had all the basic elements but they were requested in a way that kept your guessing.<br/><br/>The service was great, warm and friendly.

The Little Bird Unbakery is the food paradise for a vegan or anyone who loves raw/plantbased feed.<br/><br/>Whether it be sweet or savoury, they make extraordinary meals out of the ordinary. I love their bird bowls, mexican tacos, kimchi pancakes, and pretty much everything in the dessert section. Their choc smoothies taste decadent yet are healthy; while their green smoothies may taste too healthy for untrained palates. Their cold-dripped coffees are amazing too.<br/><br/>Oh the list goes on. I love their grocery section too - their macaroons & almond and flax seed crackers are top notch. Their service is as great as their food and the cafe has a warm and cosy atmosphere.<br/><br/>Definitely would come again because I'm hooked to their raw vegan meals and treats!!

Me and Sophie Ly came to Little Bird Unbakery after hearing about all the hype a while back. I ordered the LB Sprouted Bread and Soph got the Winter Bird Bowl. We also tried the raw taco plate and we got that to share. <br/><br/>Firstly the cafe was so packed! We squeezed onto the end of one of the large community tables and service was just a little slow because of how busy it was. That was understandable though. <br/><br/>I also tried a berry antioxidiser smoothie which sounded absolutely amazing with black currant, banana, acai, honey, vanilla and almond milk. It was $9 though, which was quite pricey for a smoothie. It tasted pretty good though I am still a bit undecided whether I'll repurchase at that price. <br/><br/>My meal was different. I'm not too sure whether it was because I wasn't used to raw food, but I definitely wasn't expecting what I got. The bread was quite hard (probably because it wasn't doughy like what I thought it was going to be) but it was also made out of buckwheat, quinoa, chia, flax, sprouted millet and coconut. I enjoyed the smashed avocado toast and the creamy mushrooms were okay but I think the rest were slightly too "healthy" for me and just didn't suit my tastebuds. It was the same deal for the winter bird bowl as well; there were definitely components in the dish that tasted amazing but some parts were untouched. <br/><br/>I'm still a bit undecided about LB, but I think I'll definitely come back to try some raw desserts and the acai bowl.

Come here with friends a lot of the time, friendly and great service, nice interior design, amazing food (cheesecakes are delicious) and an overall good vibe
Sophia
Went here on two occasions. The first time we didn't realize it was closing but a staff member asked us if we wanted to sit down to eat, sat us and gave us a menu. Then 10 minutes later came back to take our order and when we ordered from the menu they told us the kitchen had closed.Ā <br/><br/>The second time I received the menu and ordered an iced tea and pumpkin pie. The pumpkin pie was delicious but I waited 1/2 hour for my drink and then finally the server came back to tell me they actually didn't have that drink. They showed me the drinks they did have and basically nothing on the drink menu was available. I ended up passing.<br/><br/>Both visits a bit disappointing.
Laura
Decor and was visually appealing, menu and presentation of food was beautifully thought up! Love the heathy twist thrown on the dishes, would highly recommend

One of the most popular healthy eateries in Auckland, I finally got to try this place out recently. The cafe itself is cute and cozy, with lots of light and an area that sells take-home products as well as cabinet food. I tried their raw pizza and had previously had their sweets/slices before as well. You can definitely taste how healthy and nutritious all the food is for you, and you don't get that groggy bloated feeling after eating their desserts, which is great. It is more expensive than usual, but you're paying for the ingredients and process that went into making the food so it's definitely worth it if you're into that kind of thing. Will be revisiting soon!
Melissa
Love love coming to Little Bird! I've taken some family members here but they didn't enjoy it as much as me so the only person I can go with is my friend :D we always go when we crave the bird bowl! It's always amazing and filling and I love how the bowl changes often so I never get bored of going there :D they also change their menu up sometimes which is great. Their smoothies are delicious too but usually the birdbowl is so filling I can't finish the smoothie so I don't get them anymore :P <br/><br/>Unfortunately the location is unconvenient for parking so bussing is more preferable. The size of the bakery itself is quite small and on busy days (weekends) the wait can be quite long for a table!
Ceciline Thai
Love love love this place! I've been here several times and it has never failed to please me. Great food, great vibe and great service. Sometimes there is a wait for a table especially during lunch hours but the food definitely does make up for it. My favourite dishes are the tacos, bird bowl and the zucchini risotto. The desserts are also devine especially the passionate fruit cheesecake!
Iana Grace
Little Bird is a vegan's dream cafe! They do such unique and tasty meals, my favourite being the waffles! I've never had a bad experience in any of the Little Bird stores. I would recommend it to anyone because of the great variety they have on their menu.
Annie Bananie
Firstly I adore the atmosphere here it's so warm and inviting. The passionfruit cheesecake was super delish but don't we fooled by the 'lava' cake which was dry and not runny at all! Also a nice variety of teas
Luisa Jamieson
Had the cacao smoothie, and shared the caramel slice and mixed berry cheesecake. Best raw sweet treats I've had, and don't feel guilty after eating them. Little bird definitely never disappoints!
Georgia Forde
Been here numerous times and always feel happy afterwards. There food is creative and full of flavour. Today my friend and I got the cacao superfood smoothie which felt like a guilt free chocolate thick-shake accompanied with the mixed berry cheesecake and caramel slice. Both sweet treats were incredible. Although the food is reasonably pricy I believe it's worth it for the delicious food! Staff are always friendly and there's always a chirpy atmosphere whenever you go in there!
Isi
One word - YUM! I've dined here a few times now and have never been disappointed. The cakes in the counter display are especially good and it's nice to know that they are much healthier than your standard buttery, sugar-filled cake.
Duncan Babbage
Great breakfast experience at this great cafe. Really enjoyed the Potabello Benedict. Looks like a wonderful combination of options on this diverse menu. I was sending recommendations to out of town friends while we were still there and I'll definitely be back. Nice selection of books and food products that would make good gifts also on display for purchase. Entire menu gluten and dairy free. Delicious.

Little Bird is a health-conscious or digestively ill-equipped foodie's paradise! It was founded as a raw food cafe, but has since progressed to include a number of equally exceptional and unique cooked dishes - I would go so far as to say that it is the mother of all health food cafes in Auckland, and even New Zealand.<br/><br/>The food is impeccable - of a quality that you would be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. I have eaten my way through a fair few of the cabinet and menu items, but my personal favourites would have to be the kimchi burger with cavolo nero chips, the apple cream cobbler, and the Organic Mechanic ginger kombucha. On any given day that there are over 20 different raw cakes and slices to choose from, in addition to the expansive list of teas, coffees, and smoothies, and the breakfast/lunch/all-day menus. I do remember going to the Unbakery for dinner over a year ago, but they appear to have since stopped that (I still secretly hope to see their mulled strawberry panacotta on the menu once more because it was so darn good). The prices are also exceptionally reasonable given the amount of preparation that is undergone, and the fact that all of the ingredients are organic.<br/><br/>The staff are lovely, relaxed, focussed, and diligent - it can be a little difficult to grab their attention occasionally, but that is to be expected in such a fast-paced and popular cafe! It still amazes me how relaxed and airy the vibe of the place is when it is so packed. I also love how they have a variety of seating options - the big shared table is a wonderful idea and I have had many a conversation with people from all walks of life. The general interior is a wonderful blend of rustic bare brick walls and finished wooden surfaces, with a high ceiling that does make it a little loud during busy times but adds to the charm of the place. The shop area, selling some of their crackers and raw treats as well as teas, superfood powders, Vitamix blenders, spiralizers, and other foodie treats, is a smart move, especially as it gives customers something to look at while waiting for a table or to pay for their meal. It's also lovely to see them supporting local kiwi brands by stocking their products.<br/><br/>The only thing that is a potential negative is perhaps the parking - as Little Bird is located on a residential street just off a main road that is exceptionally narrow and has a decent incline, it is often difficult to find parking. However, they do mention in their menu that there is additional space in a lot across the road, and include a disclaimer about respecting residents, which is most impressive. It is also important to note that if you are a strict vegan, you must watch out for honey as they do include it in a number of their raw cakes and desserts.<br/><br/>Overall, Little Bird Unbakery on Summer Street is probably my favourite eatery, healthy or otherwise, in the entire world. Their chefs are to be applauded for their ingenuity and utter talent in making plant-based food so wonderful, as are their waiters for being so helpful and friendly under the immense pressure of a constantly packed cafe. Perfection!<br/><br/>Food: 5/5<br/>Service: 5/5<br/>Value: 5/5

Yum, Healthy, but a little expensive for my liking. Ā <br/>I love the cabinet dessert menu! WOw, everything looked amazing.Ā <br/>I normally come in for the "lox" benedict! Ā So yum!

Great place! I'm not the typical raw, vegan, gluten free eater but Little Bird makes it a delight. The diversity of food and drinks they have on offer will assure that you'll find something and it'll surprise you with the great depth of flavor they are able to incorporate with the freshest ingredients. I often have the banana smoothie and buckwheat waffles. My favorite treat are the cheesecakes. A very busy place to be on the weekend for brunch so be patient.

I have visited here about 4 times. The environment here is so great, it is modern, fresh and busy. The menu is quite small however there is something for everyone. The coffee is great and so are the smoothies. There's a huge cabinet full of beautiful food. The food is nice, not great however. <br/><br/>Staff are extremely rude in their manner here, because we were not ordering quick enough they were obviously getting irritated. Another visit we asked for suggestions with the menu and they had no idea about the food or drinks. I am always left waiting at the counter for sooo long, even though there is plenty of staff. <br/><br/>I wouldn't come here again voluntarily unfortunately, it does have great potential but the staff/service puts me off.

Consistently amazing food and service. Never disappointed. All the food is packed with nutrition and taste, the raw dessert cabinet is always a highlight. LOVE this place

Went with 2 friends for brunch. I had the caramel milkshake was quite good but extremely overpriced - $12 for a milkshake. <br/><br/>I had the acai bowl, it was just okay. They put hardly any of the grawnola and yoghurt but A LOT of the berries. Quite unbalanced.<br/><br/>One of my friends has a nut allergy (we probably should have read the menu) but they had 1 option of something to eat and drink on the whole menu.<br/><br/>Probably won't be going back here unless it's purely for an overpriced milkshake. Good service is what's pushed it up to a so-so experience.

I've been a loyal fan to Little bird for as long as I can remember (especially for their cacao raspberry brownies and ginger slices) but had only tried a few of their savoury dishes. This was my third time coming to the Ponsonby outlet for lunch and I was actually slightly disappointed not with the food, but with the service. It was around 2:30pm when two of my friends and I arrived so thankfully seating space was not an issue. We ordered between the three of us the Acai bowl, the winter bird bowl and the special of the day, a beetroot risotto. Both the winter bowl and the risotto came out at the same time relatively quick but they had somehow forgotten the acai bowl but it happens right :) however when we asked the waitress about it she had a really bad attitude and was pretty rude towards us.<br/><br/>Anyway, back to the food, the acai bowl was nice but to be honest, I wouldnt order it again as it really wasnt anything special. Would probably be nicer on a hot summer day actually 3/5<br/><br/>Winter bird bowl: this was not as nice as I had expected and the little roll it came with (( the pumpkin tamal ) was really hard and starchy and not tasty at all :( this was pretty unfortunate as this dish was pretty pricey ( $19.50). The dish definitely filled me up tho, but that was probably due to the half avocado haha. 2.5/5<br/><br/>Beetroot risotto: Like the two other dishes, the presentation was beautiful but the taste was pretty lacking. I know lil bird is well known and popular for being 'raw', but this dish really did just taste like raw cauliflower and beetroot and lacked any risotto component. 3/5 for this :(<br/><br/>The only saviours of the day were the cakes we decided to order after our meals ( I knew their desserts would never disappoint). We had ordered a passionfruit cheesecake and a chocolate hazelnut tart to share, and both were seriously amazing! The chocolate tart was not too rich and had a beautiful texture, whereas the cheesecake was packed full of flavour; I could have eaten these for lunch itself.<br/><br/>Overall, it wasnt that good of an experience this time round at little bird due to the lacking in service and savoury flavours. I think I'll stick to Britomart's little tuckshop just to satisfy my little bird dessert cravings, sorry ponsonby

Little bird is my absolute favourite cafe ever!! The food is consistently delicious, presentation is always amazing, and you don't even feel guilty after since it's all so good for you!! <br/><br/>I love the interior, it's very rustic and serene! I just wish it was a bit bigger as there's always a bit of a wait for a table, I guess that gives you an idea of the quality of food! <br/><br/>Slightly higher pricing but the ingredients used are all raw, vegan and organic so it's understandable why the food is slightly more! So worth it though!<br/><br/>The vegan cheesecake is a must! Love love love Little Bird, always coming back! <br/>

One of my favourite go-to places for brunch! Love their smoothies and acai bowl! Food are always well presented. Great atmosphere and friendly staff too :)

Lovely idea and concept that is well executed! The staff are really friendly and give recommendations and explanations really well. Always interesting to see how they can take traditional meals and make them so delicious and healthy at the same time! Love the sweet cabinets to have a treat to take home. The prices can be quite dear so try not to go every day but the serving sizes are great and really filling šŸ˜Š

it is the only restaurant so far i know with organic food. They use really low tempeture to cook the food to make sure the natrition is intact. NIce environment and excellent customer service. The book unbakery is awesome! You can learn how to cook healthy food by yourself. also they have healthy snack for sale.

Awesome little place slightly hidden on the side street. The layout was trendy and the cabinet looked great. We had a slices and they were amazing. Definitely an awesome treat!

I have visited Little Bird Organics so many times and I absolutely adore their raw food. It is a perfect place to meet with the girls and catch up over healthy delicious food. It is suitable for anyone that is vegan, gluten free or dairy free.<br/><br/>The cheesecakes are to die for so you canā€™t go there without trying a slice of that. My personal favourites are the raw mixed berry cheesecake, the ginger slice and the cacao tart.<br/><br/>My favourite main dish is the raw taco place ($18.50). It is 3 handmade raw tacos filled with beans, avocado, slaw, salsa and a side of ā€˜dirtyā€™ rice. I also recommend the LB Sprouted Bread with smashed avocado, micro greens and Little Bird Kraut ($16.50). The sprouted bread is so dense and yummy! <br/><br/>The drinks menu is very extensive ranging from coffees and teas to delicious nut milkshakes. I love the cold dripped coffee and the matcha lattes with a macaroon on the side. <br/><br/>All of the food is super healthy and flavoursome and the atmosphere is full of positive energy. It is definitely one of my favourite places in Auckland. There is sometimes a wait but it is always worth it. I really wish they would open for dinner again.Ā If you are in Ponsonby, you have to check out Little Bird Organics. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! <br/><br/>Food 5<br/>Service 3.5<br/>Value 4<br/>Atmosphere 5

Came here with a friend for lunch who is celiac so it's great for her.... I had the kimchi burger with kumera fries..... Which aren't 'fries' really so not so nice but the burger (with no bun) was really tasty and very enjoyable.... Service was ok. Staff are friendly.

Healthy delicious food served by extremely friendly staff in a cozy environment. Loved the warm atmosphere, specially on a rainy day. We've ordered bio smoothies, AƧai bowl, and also purchased detox teas at the counter. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Probably the best vegan food in auckland! This place is so popular and crowded. Everything is so healthy and at the same time so yummy! Love love love this place!

My daughter recommended this little cafe and so we went for a snack and a drink. It is down a street not well travelled and is not signposted well which is probably a good thing as it was bustling when we got inside. The food looks amazing and Ā the people are very friendly. I had a raspberry and ginger tart and I must say I was in heaven eating it, savouring every morsel! The berry smoothie drink my daughter and husband had was delicious as well. Its a haven for folk with allergies as everything is either gluten, dairy or wheat free. Goodness only knows how they have created such delicious treats without our staple flours and dairy. Its a credit to them and I will surely visit again. Well done Little bird you rock!
Eden Howard
I have been here probably 5 times. Their food is AMAZING! I love the cheesecakes. Also their bird bowls are to die for. But the last three times I have gone here I have found a hair in my food... The first and second time they were very sorry and gave me a slice to make up for it, but the third time they just shrugged it off and didn't say anything. I didn't really like this. And I haven't been back since. But I will probably be returning some time soon and hope I won't find another hair

Visited this place at the beginning of the year. Was super busy and quite crowded. Took a while to get a seat. I ordered the raw taco plate which was delish! Along with a cacao smoothie which wasn't anything special. The food presentation is very cute. My friend wasn't happy with her bagel breakfast and didn't end up eating it but I loved my tacos atleast! Would go back for sure, but would recommend if you want a seat to call in and book one in advance or it will probably take a while depending on the time you go to get seated!

Fantastic place for lunch or a quick snack. The menu is interesting, fresh and detailed, with a great range of choices to suit everyone's tastes. I shared the summer bird bowl with a friend and I had the acai bowl, and my friend the sprouted bread with cashew cheese. She got tea (from their extensive range) and I got a coffee with nut milk. Everything was delicious and filling and the service was great. It's a bit more expensive than your 'usual' but worth the price!

I am almost certainly swimming against the tide here, but I actually dislike this very fashionable restaurant which has tapped into a seam of health conscious aucklanders who believe anything raw, vegan, dairy and gluten free will make you beautiful and live forever. <br/>Personally I think it's a culinary version of the emperors new clothes. <br/> I do not know what is truly healthy - except moderation. I do not believe that raw is necessarily good or that the majority of people should avoid dairy. <br/>On my three visits to little bird I've wanted it to be good and then, when disappointed, to give it another go. But each time, I've been totally underwhelmed. This seems to be a high carb cuisine as epitomised by the counter cabinet - the cloyingly sweet cheesecakes and slices. <br/>The coffee with nut milk I found execrable. The bagels are interesting ... Once.<br/>Sorry to be so negative but probably I'm wrong to think like this but I do, after all everyone else seems to love it ... Takes all sorts I guess.

Tried out the portobello Benedict,Ā <br/><br/>Food 2.5<br/>Service 5<br/>Value 3<br/>Atmosphere 5<br/><br/>it just a way too sour food but the service and environment are great, apart from that i think its great for vegan or vegetarian. I'll properly try out something new next time so i can have a more accurate review.Since the food its the most important part

First of all lemme just say, there were so so many cabinet options! It was also extremely busy, with a decent wait for a table, so my friend and I picked a couple of things and took our treats outside to enjoy. <br/><br/>I chose the chocolate hazelnut tart and mint slice (I am a sucker for mint slice!) so I was very excited to try their version! The hazelnut tart lacked a little hazelnut flavour, but it was creamy and chocolately none the less. <br/>The balance of sweet and bitter was exactly how I would want it to be.<br/><br/>The flavour of the mint slice was totally on point - minty and rich in chocolate flavour. I believe that the filling had a coconut flesh base, a texture I hadn't tried before, but the coconut didn't overpower the mint flavour at all. I definitely preferred the base to this dessert over the hazelnut tart, the crispness was more of a match to the original mint slice made by Grandma!

SUPERB! wow! i was blown out of the water when i dined here the other day. 5 stars for the food. the best thing about their dishes is that they have so much flavour. i ordered the BBQ tempeh bowl and my friend had the mexican tacos. the flavours danced on our palates and stained on our minds long after our meals. we were so full and satisfied! <br/><br/>not only are the dishes tasty, but they are jam packed with nutrients! healthy food has never tasted so good! i've been to numerous healthy cafes/restaurants - i put off going to little bird for so long due to the hype.... and often long lines.... BUT WOW IT LIVES UP TO ALL THE HYPE! ALSO WORTH WAITING IN LINE FOR! (luckily for us the day we went it was fairly quiet for little bird unbakery)! <br/><br/>will be coming back here! craving another delicious meal from little bird unbakery. love the food, the ever changing menu, the dessert cabinet, the vibes, the lil 'little bird' groceries you can buy, the lighting.... HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

First things first, fantastic and friendly staff. Service is a little jumbled and disorganised, But their friendliness always makes up for it. I regularly visit for a takeaway smoothie which is always delicious. But prices are high! 10 dollars for a smoothie. Their cakes are beautiful raw and vegan but again quite high in price. I find the meals quite small for the price to. But love the raw health aspect of the venue. I don't overally rate the sitting down in the unbakery but I definitely will continue to get smoothies from here and quite a good little raw food selection and the staff which will bring me back everytime.

This is our 2nd time here and we wait around 15mins of time for both visit.<br/>Yes we admit that we are not so healthy people, we eat junk sometimes, meat, dairy, yet we still want to be more concerned for what we eat.<br/>Food is very surprising for me, I even feel that I am getting healthier after finishing a plate.<br/>My understanding of raw food, those vegan foods are expensive compared to "normal food" so does this place, this tacos are definitely more expensive than Taco Bell!<br/>But I am sure way healthier than Taco Bell.<br/>The best thing I got out of them is my concern for food became way different after I tried their food.<br/>Inspirational, it is.<br/>I rate 4.0 for inspirational unique food but yet the taste is very ordinary I would say.<br/>And their book sells around NZ$60 in their shop also the Whitcoulls but if you purchase from book depository or fishpond through online it costs NZ$34. Wonder if there is any difference.

I was impressed with the decor and it definitely matched their focus on healthy eating and living. Whilst raw foods aren't really my thing, I still found the menu accessible and thoroughly enjoyed a cold drip coffee. The Bircher muesli was delicious and reasonably priced. I appreciated the attention to detail and especially liked the small floral arrangements on the tables. Im keen to go back!

A cosy eatery, with exceptional service and talented chefs with a very obvious passion for good food. How else could they make vegan food so tasty & appealing to vegans & non-vegans alike.<br/>This is one of the rare times when good food means both tasting good & good for your health. <br/>The berry smoothies were both delicious & beautifully presented. The kombucha was a pleasant surprise after sampling some at my local market, I was expecting the same vinegary taste, but my bravery was rewarded - delicious! <br/>Food wise, it was like a symphony of flavours in my mouth & each dish was a visual masterpiece too.

Incredible. Can't get enough of this place! Just love the food. Everything is so fresh and unbelievably delicious! Favourite breakfast spot

I first visited Little Bird Unbakery with a friend in late 2013. After having trouble finding a park in Ponsonby, we were told we would have to wait an hour for a table. All that driving around made us ravenous and we couldn't wait that long, so instead we grabbed a Raw Mixed Berry Cheesecake from the cabinet and headed up to the main road for some quick (and healthy) food. <br/><br/>A few weekends ago, I decided to try out Little Bird for brunch one Saturday, and wow it is an incredibly popular place! One of the waitresses told us that it is normal in the weekends to wait about an hour for a table. To fill in time, I suggest browsing through the products they sell (the macaroons are delicious), scanning the menu, reading through their recently published cookbook and last but not least, deciding which sweet treat you will have after your main meal, because even though you may be full, you won't want to go home without trying something from their to.die.for sweet cabinet! <br/><br/>My friend and I were eventually seated after an hour's wait and were super excited! We first ordered drinks - Kombucha for my friend and a Spiced Chocolate Smoothie for me. Made with cacao, dates, vanilla, banana, almond milk, cashew butter and Little Bird's secret spice mix, the smoothie was creamy, rich and had just the right amount of spice. <br/><br/>It took us ages to decide what to have for brunch. I have a mega sweet tooth and whenever I see 'Waffles', 'Pancakes' or 'French Toast' I go crazy, so after seeing countless Instagram photos of their Buckwheat Waffles, I knew I just had to try them! Best waffles I have had, hands down. They are served with fresh berries, banana, maple syrup, mint, plus a scoop of their homemade raw cashew ice cream. Heavenly. <br/><br/>My friend, having more of a savoury tooth, went for the Courgette Pasta - so delicious! Made with kelp noodles, broccolini, oyster mushrooms and topped with pine nuts, fresh herbs and a yummy sauce, you wouldn't even know that it wasn't real pasta - it tasted that good! <br/><br/>We couldn't go past a slice of their Raw Strawberry Cheesecake, which we ended up sharing. It was rich, creamy, delicious, melt in your mouth - oh I could go on! Highly recommend leaving extra room for one of their cheesecakes, or any of their amazingly-beautiful looking sweet treats from the cabinet. <br/><br/>As well as the food being outstanding, I also love the decor - think brick walls, hanging pot plants, plus it is light and airy. Although it is a relatively small place, it is nice and cosy. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Oh and they have a lot of patience! Seeing as it takes ages to decide on one dish (they probably get that a lot). <br/><br/>Overall, I loved my experience at Little Bird Unbakery. I felt very full afterwards, but definitely in a good way. I can't wait to visit again and try many more dishes, namely the 'Acai Bowl' and 'Chia Bircher' for breakfast and the 'Kimchee Pancake' and 'BBQ Tempe Donburi' for lunch. In fact, I would like to eat my way through their whole menu!!!

What an eye opening experience! I 've been to various vegan and organic restaurants in other countries but nothing as exquisite as this. My flu got better after my meal at Little Bird, not sure if it really worked the wonder. I cannot wait for my next visit to the little bird.

Little Bird Unbakery is the go to destination to fulfill your wildest raw, vegan, herbivorous desires. Intimated by the inspiringly inventive menu, we decided to play it safe with the raw taco plate and pizza. Those tacos were divine; the spiced mushrooms brought out the sweetness of the capsicum salsa in every bite while the chimichurri and dirty rice on the side went down like a treat. The (faux)pizza had a great array of nutritious toppings, especially liked the cashew nut cheese, and though the level of healthiness didn't feel quite right on a pizza, it was a nice experiment. Food is fair priced for the organic goodness you receive, though drinks a tad pricey. The interior is fresh, vibrant and welcoming, though I don't like the very close proximity of tables and slightly small seats. Owner, Megan May (coincidence that her name rhymes with vegan?) sure seems to know what she's doing with the ever brimming cafe and successful book on the market already.

i've been here a couple of times and its really good if this is the sort of food you're into! though i'm not a huge fan of the drinks. i took my boyfriend in with me but being the typical man he is, was dissapointed he couldnt get a meaty burger haha. love the food the only reason i'm not giving a very high rating is due to the service, or should i say, lack of.

when i arrived at little bird the other day for a late lunch with a friend, i was immediately impressed with the overall look of the place. the cafe was simple yet well decorated and the cabinet food looked absolutely delicious with a wide variety of treats.<br/><br/>i ordered the courgette pasta fresca ($17.50) which was nice yet a little too salty in my opinion. however the taste of mint in the salad ruined the dish in my opinion - im not a fan of mint in savoury dishes - so whenever i got a mint leaf in my mouth i wanted to stop. mint aside though, the mushrooms and kelp noodles in the dish were phenomenal and unbelievably tasty.<br/><br/>portion wise, this was a generous size but i couldnt finish it as much as i wanted to simply because of the minty taste in my mouth every time i took a bite. i wish they had left out the mint because it honestly ruined the dish for me.<br/><br/>i love how this is a healthier alternative to pasta and the zucchini noodles concept is such a smart way to replace conventional pasta - i'll definitely be trying to recreate this dish at home - without the mint of course.<br/><br/>courgette pasta fresca 7/10

We had lunch here last Sunday, it was meant to be breakfast, feeling lazy that morning!Ā  The place was packed but we were lucky enough to find a perch at the end of a large shared table.Ā  During the time we were there a lot of people had to wait for tables - popular spot.Ā  The staff, most of whom were very young, were friendly and very capable.Ā  The vibe was upbeat, while remaining casual and relaxing.Ā  I guess it helped that it was a super sunny day outside and we had wandered here on foot, but we were feeling particularly laid back and happy to be there.Ā  I had the summer salad which was popping with strawberries and avocado, fresh crunchy lettuce with none of that dreadful frizzy lettuce that is always drier than a nun's wotsit, lots of nice seeds and perfectly dressed.Ā  Husband had a specialĀ - tempeh donburri which was served on two types of rice and was very delish.Ā  Tea to wash it down - this is definitely a tea kind of place, theĀ  tea menu is wonderfully descriptive, an adventure in itself.Ā Ā  I had the white peony which was delightfully refreshing.Ā  Having sat in full view of the sweet treats in the cabinet neither of us were leaving without dessert (told you it was that kind of day!)Ā  - so I plumped for the mixed berry cheesecake whilst he had the chocolate raspberry one.... both were sublime, in fact I would go as far as to say the best cheesecake ever to pass these lips.Ā  Good stuff, Little Bird, it's nice to know I can be healthy and decadent at the same time!

This is the second time I've visited this cafe, even though I'm that type who really enjoys meat in my meals but the quality of the food has always been quite pleasant.<br/><br/>Little Bird Unbakery has introduced me to a range of creative nutritious goodness and natural flavours. Along with their organic hot/cold beverages such as cold chemex coffee or matcha latte. I enjoy the most is their 'just right' proportion to ensure you can fit in the dessert without feeling bloated or guilty!<br/><br/>Overall presentation were very appetizing, no matter which table you're at the food looked consistently beautiful. No wonder they are so popular if you're into health conscious meals!<br/><br/>Bearing in mind they do seasonal menus e.g. winter and summer. So the menu you see here on the app may not be exactly what they've got available.<br/><br/>The only downside to its popularity is the long queue. Unfortunately my second time visit I had to wait over 20 mins standing with my crutches due to a recent injury and no one offer me a chair for waiting even though there were a few vacant seats lying around. Not too disability friendly.<br/><br/>

Im not the biggest health freak but if I was I would highly recommend it. The interior is a stand out, good service and tasty food. Food is a very fair price unlike some healthy eating places. However in my opinion the drinks and smoothies are a little overpriced. Wouldn't complain about the taste.

A good experience from the moment I walked in the door, the decor was nice and staff were very friendly.<br/><br/>The smoothies and cold press juices available are very unique in their flavours. Food was brought out in a timely manner and was very tasty considering it was all health food. Overall experience was enjoyable and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a healthy brunch option.
Two Dark Coffees
Skeptical at first, I can now say that I've been for breakfast, lunch and dinner. <br/><br/>I'm a teenage boy. I don't mind forking out money on a burger and fries or a rack of ribs. My ideal is not spending $15 plus on some leaves and a vegetable. But Little Bird has changed my view on this. Breakfast was the first meal I experienced at Little Bird Unbakery and I say experienced because Little Bird's food is far from a slap up meal. <br/><br/>For Breakfast before school one morning I had Little Bird's take on Eggs Benedict. Substituting mushrooms for eggs, this meal was one to remember. Other than it looking absolutely amazing - it was light and fresh, and showed me that you don't need to whack something on the frying pan to make it taste great. <br/><br/>Their cabinet food is also something to look out for. So far I would recommend the caramel slice (it's hard to believe that it's actually good for you) and the blueberry cheesecake, which is creamy smooth and a great addition to an organic filter coffee. <br/><br/>Last Thursday, my sister and I ordered one of Little Bird's platters for dinner (I can't remember the exact name of it). It's not something that will leave you full I will admit, but your body will love you for it. You feel simply 'good' after eating it.<br/><br/>All the staff members are so friendly and have out-going personalities, so much so I've actually become good friends with one and we're having a Little Bird Breakfast together shortly! <br/><br/>The atmosphere of Little Bird Unbakery is alive. As cliche as that might sound, the positive energy and brilliant food flying around the cafe makes for a fun and lively meal. <br/><br/>I would highly recommend, I'm now a huge fan of this place!

Great place and amazing atmosphere. Only downside is that we had to wait an hour almost for a table. That is just annoying even when we went after 2. But the food was great. I felt so healthy and clean afterwards. Felt so full. Vegan food rocks.
Tania McRae
Little Bird can be a bit hit or miss. Some of the options on the menu are amazing and full of flavour, but others can be a little dull. You really have to get to know the menu to find the good options (Sprouted Bread with Avocado is always good) . They have some amazing cheesecakes and tarts, although the size seems a little big and better for sharing. They might do better to make them slightly smaller and charge less than $9 a piece. The price is a little high, but understandable given the nature of the ingredients they use. The one aspect they could really improve on is speed of service both for dine in and take out.
Gloria Kim
A heavenly exquisite place for all vegetarians and non-vegetarians, must try the smoothies and the acai bowl!
Tarina
The raw cheesecakes here are mind-blowingly good! And less the guilt. I also tried the portobello mushroom benedict and some kombutcha. Thr atmosphere is buzzing and the staff i encountered were all fantastic!
William
Cute cafe with great design. Food will take a little while to get used to because everything is gluten free, sugar free, dairy free and of course vegetarian. Unique concept and atmosphere. <br/><br/>Waitresses were quite helpful and polite. Thankyou.

What fantastic food! I have been curious about putting more raw food into my diet for awhile now and my visits to your cafe are inspiring. I think my favourite so far is the "Bird Bowl"...although I haven't yet tried the Winter version of this. the mushrooms are really delicious. Your cold brewed coffee is fantastic...from one who normally only drinks decaf. It is really worth leaving some room for the wonderful vegan cheesecakes...yum. Everytime I have dined there (3 times now) I have felt replete for the whole afternoon. It does get very busy, so you often have to wait 15 -20 minutes for a table, but well worth the wait. Once or twice it has taken awhile to receive our food, but the staff have been extremely pleasant and happy to chat about the food when asked about it. It is reasonably expensive, but when you see the first class ingredients in the meal, the price is justified in my book. It is my favourite place to go and would be very happy to have it expand to the North Shore!

Iā€™d been dying to go to the Unbakery for a while now and finally got the chance yesterday. Great food, great people, great vibe!. Had the Avocado &amp; Papaya salad and a cold drip coffee with their nut milk (highly recommend). Though it was extremely busy, the service was chirpy and attentive and staff happily answered our many questions about the more unusual things on the menu. Make sure you grab a caramel slice to takeaway for arvo tea...woaah!

Tasty and nice atmosphere. Expensive though.

Darlings ! I've been an avid fan of Littlebird Unbakery since their beginnings at Kingsland. Both stores can offer different menus and I choose which one to go depending on the experience I feel like.<br/>Summer St is certainly a busy spot but the lovely staff are accommodating, warm and friendly within the hustle and bustle of lunch- plus they all look so wonderfully healthy darling.<br/><br/>The menus are exciting and my favorite at the moment is the Avocado and Papaya Salad- a fantastic combination of flavor explosions with every bite.<br/>I can't go past the cheesecakes and they always seem to have something new for me to try- naughty devils....<br/>The smoothies are an instant healthy hit- especially the green ones plus the cacao for a chocolate extravaganza.<br/>I would go every day if I could XX

I've been there several times now and have had an amazing experience.<br/><br/>The food is amazing and very well presented. There is no way to leave that place hungry, dishes are very filling. The menu is very interesting and I keep trying to have a chance to taste everything.<br/><br/>The huge desserts cabinet is indredible. How amazing can something raw be. Even better when you hear that everything in this place is definitely gluten and dairy free.<br/><br/>Five stars service, nice and friendly staff. There is always a smile around. You will probably need to wait to be seated, the place is very busy and I know why. Because it is amazing.<br/><br/>Will be back to try something different soon.<br/><br/>Thanks Little Bird.

What can I say great food not great service.<br/><br/>Desert 5, meal 4, coffee 5, Service 1. We arrived, not too busy got a table and ordered the cheesecake and coffee to start. <br/><br/>I was a little surprised at the cheesecake. It was a half slice. So imagine a normal slice like they had on display then cut in half to make two pieces. I called the waitress over and asked are they cutting the pieces in half. She said no. I then pointed to my skinny slice and said this slice is half the size of those on display. She acknowledged it was small and said she'd drop the price. <br/><br/>1/ I ordered a piece of cheesecake. I don't really want half a piece. <br/><br/>2/ The person that cuts it should cut them into pieces of a decent size. There should never be half pieces. But if there is;<br/><br/>3/ The waitress should never serve up a half piece. <br/><br/>Quality control failed all round.<br/><br/>Then we ordered meals. Meal arrived promptly and looked great. We got no cutlery though. So being considerate we just grabbed the forks from our cheesecake plate. The old dishes just sat there and we'd pushed them aside to make some room. Staff didn't clear the table.<br/><br/>We ate the meal and it was great and just as we were getting to the later part we needed a knife and luckily the waitress was setting the places near us with knife fork and serviettes. (Hmm we didn't get that) no matter we borrowed the knives so we could carry on eating. They replenished the removed cutlery immediately. We finished our meal and now had a good number of dishes and moved onto another order of food. Finally it became a bit hard to fit in with all the dishes so we staked them all and put them at the corner of the table. It was only them that someone came to take them.<br/><br/>We went to pay and you have to cue which can be a bit slow. We get to the front and they want to charge us $7 for half a cheesecake when the whole slice is $9. I object and they reduce it to $5. Really we can't get a slice of cheesecake when we order it. Did they think we'd be okay with a half slice? then you try to charge us close to full price.<br/><br/>Advice to staff next time you have an exceptionally skinny piece of cheesecake that looks like half, DON'T SERVE IT!! Give it to the kitchen and let them know or check and see if the customer really wanted a half piece when they ordered a whole piece. I am a little pissed that they couldn't even offer us a full size piece.<br/><br/>Overall the wait staff are a little underpar in terms of customer service and being aware of their role.

Decided to visit the cafe on Ponsonby over the Easter weekend and were very disappointed with the service. Ordered takeaway smoothies and had to wait for about 30 minutes and it was not even busy. Staff neither warned us that there will be such a long wait or apologized for the wait when we finally got our drinks which we didn't even want by then. Shame that such a nice concept is spoiled by such a disappointing service. Will not go back

Wonderful food, highly nutritious and filling. Soft tacos are so so good. Price reflects quality.<br/>Seats are pretty uncomfortable though and waiting times can be long.<br/>Desserts are very rich so I'd recommend one between two. Cheesecakes are amazing.<br/>Great selection of food.<br/>If you are not used to organic/vegan food it may not be your cup of tea.<br/>I've been twice.

Amazing food, very average service.<br/>I've been to this place twice on separate occasions to have brunch with my friends, and I found the experience to be a slightly disheartening. I felt like the staff prioritized their customers on separate levels, leaving my group to be last. My order took at about 30-45 minutes to arrive on the table, and the other customers seated next to me have already finished and left when we just ordered our food 5 minutes after they did. I leniently asked the waitress about my food, taking into consideration about how busy it was. She did not get back to me whether my food was coming nor did she briefly mention it to me, but instead she cleaned the tables next to mine and avoided eye contact with me. Prior to that I asked for a menu since I went there to meet friends who have already been seated, and I was told that there was a shortage of menus. As I looked over the next table, a group of 3 adults and baby had 4 menus, one of which the baby was playing with. Why should a baby need a menu when a perfectly grown adult is in need of one??? Ridiculous. I found the food amazing and very filling, however my experience with the service was ultimately poor. I would visit again only for takeaways.

Wow. Went in for a salad and came out with creamy mushroom and avocado on sprouted bread. The mushrooms were amazing and the small salad which came with it was full of delicious surprises but the avocado was far to garlicky for me and a number of people later commented on the strong garlic smell in the air afterward. Apart from that I was thoroughly impressed and will go again for those amazing mushrooms. Also the meal which was a well spent $14 was incredibly filling and satisfying. Over all excellent intro to the 'raw craze' the kids have been on about.

I have eaten here twice now and just love love love it. My husband and I chose to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary here today by having the only food I like - fresh and healthy. I had the cacao smoothie, the yummy dahl pancake and greens, the raspberry cheesecake and coffee. I was full and happy for the rest of the day and was in a super mood!<br/> Worth the trip in and I must try other things from the sweet cabinet next time....

I was so so SO excited when I was told about this place. Ive recently been put on an Alkaline diet by my naturopath for health reasons so when I found out there was a cafe made with raw food I was over the moon. The raw carrot cake and cheesecake is out of this world. I will be a regular from now on. You guys are amazingly talented and its insane what you can do with food.
Foodie Food
Little Bird you have the best mouth watering Raw Vegan Cheesecakes!!!<br/><br/>We love buying cheesecakes and dessert treats for our family and friends to enjoy, who instantly start to ask questions. Seeing their reaction once they learn it is totally Vegan and Raw is priceless . <br/><br/>Furthermore, they become interested in learning more about higher grade quality food and how they too can educate themselves on healthy eating!!!<br/><br/>So grateful to have a eatery that is super healthy for us but is also kind to our Animals and planet!<br/><br/>A huge lover of this place! <br/>Katerina

Auckland, you are lucky indeed to have this cafe. I am jealous beyond belief and hope that the people behind this fantastic venture come to the capital soon...please, please, please!<br/><br/>The food is sublime. The service attentive. A great space, tastefully pulled together. I can't fault the experience...I guess that's why I ate here two days in a row during a brief visit to Auckland. <br/>Don't delay people, get along to this cafe and be prepared to be blown away.

Great food, tasty, healthy and imaginative. Salads, breads and cheesecakes all delicious. Chic decor and atmosphere. Front of house staff all young but attentive. Buzzing. Very popular. Highly recommended.

The best treat you could give yourself in Ponsonby! The food is superb, healthy, and very appealing, the raw cakes are absolutely amazing, the coffee (chemex or cold brew) is super yumm and the interior design very tasteful. MUST TRY!!!

All about the fresh, raw ingredients without the added chemicals! This place is a busy place with good quality food. The staff are friendly and attentive. If you've never been add this place to your list. They make some very interesting food with some very interesting ingredients to match. Your taste buds will come alive when you try this place. Always good quality food. Be sure to try their dairy free cheese cakes! Mind blowing!

As we become more health conscious, the wave of healthy eateries is quickly increasing with emphasis on good quality and clean living. Little Bird Unbakery is one of them, with two stores in Auckland, my sisters and I tried the one located on Summer Street in Ponsonbys. The chic decor with the open brick wall and interesting light fixtures instantly caught my eye when we stepped inside. I love the contemporary look between the contrast of the wooden floor and furniture with the red brick and it is a stunning dining space.<br/><br/>We went on a busy Saturday morning and the place was packed. But after a short 15 minute break, a table freed up and we happily took our seats. The menu at Little Bird Unbakery has an emphasis on healthy food with different dishes for breakfast, lunch and various offerings in their glass cabinets.<br/><br/>I went with my three other sisters and we ordered an assortment of dishes. I was very surprised to see bibimbap on their menu and I couldnā€™t resist to try this healthy version. A combination of various marinated and pickled vegetable (bean sprout, spinach, kimchi, mushroom) on top of cooked organic jade pearl rice, this was a spicy dish but boy was it good! I devoured this while my sisters enjoyed their portobello benedict, granola with berries and macadamia and a salad.<br/><br/>While my two older sisters decide to keep on the healthy vibe with a clean smoothie, I selfishly had a Chemex coffee (that was made for two) all to myself while my younger sister indulged in the Raw Cacao Mug with warmed cashew and macadamia milk.<br/><br/>I was the only one that left room for dessert, so I took a wander to the counter to decide what to order. All their cakes are dairy, sugar, gluten and soy free. I took a while to make up my mind because everything looked so good, but I ended up with a beautiful chocolate hazelnut tart that had a coconut crumbled base with a silky smooth chocolate filling. It lacked the distinctive flavours of hazelnut but it was still a decent tart.<br/><br/>For the health conscious individuals, Little Bird Unbakery is a great cafe. Plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options as well as a vast variety of beverage options. The food here was a nice change from the usual breakfast items. However, I canā€™t see myself eating at this place very often, I enjoy meat and eggs too much.

Little Bird is a raw food haven. Charming cafe with such a stylish and relaxed vibe and obviously the raw vegan goodness that comes out of the kitchen is amazing!<br/>We went for breakfast to fuel us up for a busy day ahead. And wholesome raw food is the way to go! <br/>I ordered the bagels with smoked lox and my friend ordered the sprouted bread with avocado. For drinks I ordered the iced coffee with cashew ice cream and the matcha latte.<br/>I definitely recommend the iced coffee probably one of the best coffees I've had.<br/>Food was fresh and so good. We could barely finish but we did of course haha.<br/><br/>I don't think we had any complaints about the place, food was impressive and filling for sure. We also picked up a tiramisu slice to go. Because well, how could anyone not resist guilt free desserts that are too pretty to eat?

Little Bird Organics have certainly made their mark on Auckland since arriving in Kingsland a few years ago, followed closely by another location ā€“ Little Bird Unbakery in Ponsonby. The food is all high-quality, organic, raw, and healthy ā€“ and above all, delicious! Iā€™ve been several times to sample unbaked goods from the cabinet or have a mid-afternoon smoothie, but this was my first time ordering off the breakfast menu.<br/><br/>The drinks options are particularly impressive ā€“ a wide range of smoothies and juices, but also nut milks, teas, cold brew coffee and more. I had a matcha latte with macadamia milk, and it was delicious and exactly how I expected it to be ā€“ it took me back to late summer Whistler afternoons at the lake with matcha lattes and good friends.<br/><br/>For breakfast I ordered the acai bowl, which is described as - The Acai Bowl is a delicious antioxidant rich breakfast. A blended bowl of fresh acai berries, organic berries and banana topped with grawnola & coconut yoghurt. (Its like a super-smoothie breakfast in a bowl with extras!)<br/><br/>It was amazing ā€“ tarty and fresh and fruity. My friend had the Portobello Benedict (Our house-made raw bagel topped with a bed of spinach, marinated portobello mushrooms, topped with special hollandaise sauce.) which looked interesting and nourishing. <br/><br/>The interior is clean, modern, and filled with vibrant accents. The staff are friendly and attentive. And their passionfruit macaroons are an excellently sweet way to finish off a delicious breakfast and a lovely start to the day.<br/><br/>For a full review and more please visit my blog http://www.thewineglassmanifesto.com/2014/06/little-bird-unbakery/

This place is a definite 5.0! Ticks all my boxes, food is super delicious and healthy/ guilt free. Flavours are not compromised and it doesn't feel like I'm having a vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free meal. The cheesecake is probably the best for me. It tastes very close to actual cheesecake. Staff are very friendly and helpful, took the time to explain the menu and answer all our questions. The drinks menu is so extensive I definitely need to go back to try everything else!!

Great selection of super healthy food that actually tastes good. Staff at ponsonby store are a lot nicer than kingsland!

The Acai Bowl is literally a smoothie in a bowl as the menu describes. The acai was deliciously sweet and refreshing, the grawnola provided the welcome crunch and slow-releasing energy to last you throughout the day. I adored this- itā€™s healthy, itā€™s refreshing, itā€™s vibrant, and something Iā€™d love to eat every day for breakfast. The Portobello Benedict was the favourite dish from the table, the raw bagel was interesting- dense but moreish, and also great on itā€™s own. <br/><br/>This place is really about a matter of perspective. I am a fan of this type of cuisine so on the whole, I loved Little Bird Unbakery, and felt nourished and content after my meal. I also recommend the cheesecakes. I havenā€™t even tried it, but they looked stunning.<br/><br/>For a full review and more photos, please visit my blog: http://heartshrooms.wordpress.com/2014/05/27/little-bird-unbakery/
Eat It Auckland
To say that I'm obsessed with Little Bird Unbakery would be a bit of an understatement. Never would I have thought that I would be a self-confessed lover of raw, vegan food, but Little Bird's thoughtful and imaginative menu can turn even the staunchest of carnivores into a almond-milk slurping vego. <br/><br/>Where to begin? Start the day with a smoothie (my pick is the Tropical Green: tangy pineapple, lemon and mint concoction blended with kale and young fresh coconut) and peruse the breakfast menu. Whilst I still think it's blasphemous to eat cereal at a cafe, I might be tempted by the Acai Bowl with caco and superfoods grawnola; the combination of berries, chocolate and coconut yoghurt is a winner. <br/><br/>Being a savoury girl myself, I've managed to try all the savoury breakfast options and there isn't a dud in there. The raw bagel with smoked 'lox' cashew cream cheese, capers, cucumber and alfalfa is far from stodgy, the ā€˜loxā€™ appropriately smoky and the accompanying salad refreshing. The portobello benedict's consists of more raw bagels topped with spinach and marinated portobello mushrooms with a delicious hollandaise sauce which will make one declare "I can't believe it's not butter!" The sprouted bread with smashed avocado, micro greens and Little Bird kraut has a lovely, knubbly texture reminiscent of whole grains which is lightly toasted to make it ever so slightly crusty. I guess there are somethings that can't be recreated without the power of fire. <br/><br/>From 11am, the crowds start to gather so be prepared to wait. The raw Mexican plate will definitely be worth the wait however. Consisting of three soft, raw, hand-made tacos filled with jalapeno slaw, capsicum salsa and accompanied by chimichurri, guacamole and dirty ā€˜riceā€™, I can say with a hand on my heart that the raw Mexican plate is the best Mexican Iā€™ve had. Ever. The raw taco shells resemble a soft tuile biscuit and the salsas and slaw it encapsulates are fresh, zingy and together with the chimichurri, a flavour explosion. Really. The dirty rice is actually tiny knubs of cauliflower that has been appropriately spiced to give the dish a nice kick. I shudder to think of what will happen the day that limes and avocados go out of season: what will I eat at Little Bird then?<br/><br/>Why, the cacao and raspberry cheesecake of course! Long before they were a cafe, Little Bird was first and foremost an unbakery, and they have a fine selection of cheesecakes, tarts and other sweet goodies that would put most dairy-laden desserts to shame. It is difficult to describe how good the cacao and raspberry cheesecake is: the cacao portion of the dessert has a pure chocolatey flavour to it whilst the pink ripples are a raspberry explosion. The dessert is beautifully smooth and not the least bit sickening. <br/><br/>A heads up to serious coffee drinkers: unless you like cold-drips or Chemex coffees, particularly with dairy-products added, best you stick with smoothies here. I don't really get nut milk, especially when it begins curdling, as all nut milks do, in unattractive ways in my Chemex. <br/><br/>Little Bird Unbakery is a gorgeous cafe serving delicious AND healthy food (two things that are often mutually exclusive) that I and everyone else can't get enough of.
Yummy Auckland
Little Bird has to be one of the most unique cafes in Auckland. It is a raw cafe designed for people who want to eat super healthy, fresh and natural food. With a range of smoothies, meals and treats to choose from, you are spoilt for choice! We think that if you visit, you have to try their raw cheesecake or raw brownie.
