Review Odettes Eatery - Auckland Central

Jeff Solenberger
Wonderful brunch, perfect eggs on seeded sourdough, heirloom tomato and a mountain of delicious bacon. Excellent coffee. 5 star service!

We order cauliflower, herbal scramble and maple granola, which are all GF. Wow! They cook each single ingredient so well that the pure flavor bangs in your mouth. It’s top notch fine dining quality food in a cafe. Very impressed and pleasant late brunch/afternoon experience.

Service wasn’t the best, I went there with my friends we asked for a table and they told us we had to wait even though the place was basically empty. Food was alright but I feel like it could’ve had more flavour. Quite expensive.
David Hiskett
Really nice café/eatery serving up some super delicious food and even more delicious coffee. The best thing is that almost the entire menu is gluten free, and they're more than capable of making all the gluten free dishes safe for coeliacs. We enjoyed it so much we ate here twice on our recent trip

I received excellent service, and the food was sublime. It was presented well and tasted delicious. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.

Flavour and spice are well used to shine the dish. Best cauliflower I have tried. The scramble eggs is light and fluffy. A lift up level of GF dishes.

My therapist tells me to always begin with love, so here goes: food was tasty and the light in the place was very charming. I can see why people would like the place. Coffee wasn’t bad, either - though I didn’t get a drinks menu and options seemed limited. Downsides: might just be me but I found the vibe pretentious and not especially welcoming. Couldn’t quite figure out who to ask for a table and got weird looks when I was creeping around trying to figure out what to do. Also, pricey. No reason to rush back for another round of anything.

Delicious spot for any meal. We caught up with some friends for brunch and it was great! We ordered the mango smoothies and coffees for drinks. Lemon crepe, mushroom crepe, fried chicken and Odettes complete which were all super tasty. The ambience is very nicely thought about.
Richard Song
Very wholesome and delicious brunch fare - you can taste the quality ingredients. Even the vegan option is surprisingly good! The Pear Granola was epic

Bravo! One of my best lunch experiences in Auckland so far. Love it from the bottom of my heart. No wonder the business is way better than others at the same area. Service is exceptional Beautiful design to offer you a comfortable space to take your time to enjoy. The green looks like nothing special but it's so fresh a perfect match with the meats you order. Nicely cooked steak, crunchy chips, very creative way of fried chicken presentation. You don't find any better lunch than this. Most important, it is definitely affordable! One thing makes me proud enough is the head chef is originally from my hometown Taiwan 🇹🇼

The service was great and really prompt however I found my food just very average - it was nice, but not outstanding to reflect the pricing. My friend felt like something lighter, so ordered the salad which was literally just lettuce leaves and a couple of seeds thrown in - really sub-standard, and had to order some sides to go with it. If that’s all that’s on offer, wait staff should make diners aware when they’re ordering to avoid disappointment. I don’t think the food warrants the queues waiting outside to get in!

First time to dine here. We ordered the savoury creep with braised beef cheeks. The beef melts in your mouth and the beetroot hummus is sooo good. Everything goes so well. We also ordered the dutch baby. It’s yum and it’s well balanced- not too sweet. I am inlove with their hot Mocha. I will definitely come back here to try their other menu.

I can never complain when I visit Odettes. The hardest thing is picking what to get.<br/><br/>I love their whipped feta! This was an amazing breakfast.<br/>Amazing coffee too!
Salya
I loved this place. Probably the best breakfast I have ever eaten. The whipped feta was divine. Fresh pressed apple juice was amazing.
JXXXN
Got the meatballs and they were divine. The crepes were so light and fluffy, and the meatballs were juicy! Staffs are always smiling and I love the outdoor area, it has great vibes
Yusoff Kamal
I am glad that they do dinner. The food is delicious and very well presented. Love the cocktails. Definitely recommend this place. Perfect place for dinner date.
Renie
The outside seating area is very well decorated! It was a bit of a walk from central but I loved the vibe of the place and food was also good. Portion size was just right and I will definitely be returning for a nice brunch.

Trendy cafe. I liked the decor and spacious outdoor space, ideal for alfresco dining on a sunny day.<br/><br/>My friend and I both chose the Herbed Scramble; hers with added bacon, and mine with whipped feta. The accompanying bread is more of a delicious, seed-packed cracker. I'd happily return to try something else on their interesting menu.

A delightful eatery located in the City Works Depot. Spacious seating with an excellent ambience, there are also some outdoor seatings available.<br/><br/>Their lunch menu is not available on Sundays, so we went for their brunch menu instead.<br/><br/>The Wagyu Meatball was delicious, not overly oily for a Wagyu with some thinly layered crepe. The paste was healthy and well blended.<br/><br/>The Odette Complete was simple yet delicious, made with fresh ingredients. The scrambled eggs were so tender, the sourdough was fresh and soft. The bacon was well flavored and crispy.<br/><br/>The Vanilla Waffle was also nice and buttery, but the strawberry and hazelnut cream made the waffle a little too rich.<br/><br/>Their flat white are served in a very small cup with a double shot, a little too strong for my preferences.<br/><br/>Friendly and attentive staff. Food were served in a moderately speedy fashion. Definitely keen to try their dining menu next time.<br/><br/>Taste: 8/10<br/>Presentation: 9/10<br/>Service: 9/10<br/>Ambience: 10/10<br/>Value for money: 7.5/10<br/><br/>Price $30 per person

Great service, great food and great hospitality. Did a birthday dinner here and everything was looked after perfectly. Food is great. Do try it
Candice Stewart
I've had dinner at this place and got mostly vegetarian dishes and to my surprise, it was amazing! I have to come back and try the rest but for all my vegatarian friends - this place has got you covered!
Chan Can Eat
Been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and also a special dining event. All occasions have been outstanding.<br/>The wine price for starters is fair, and i appreciate that in a CBD restaurant.<br/>This restaurant is perfect for groups of 4 or more, as the beautiful meat dishes are best shared in large groups. <br/>The slow roasted lamb is always perfection <br/>And the (duck?) fat chips were frikkin delish!<br/>Great decor... can get busy at lunch, so pays to come early or late
BelaIna
Exceptional environment and service. I have heard so much for this place and yes they do deserve everything good that is being said about them. <br/>It is very busy for a Saturday morning but still we didn’t need to wait for our turn. Everything was operating smooth. Loved that! <br/><br/>Food was generally good. They do a nice brunch on weekends. I ordered Massimo’d burrata because I just love burrata. Was ok. Would recommend to not overwhelm the flavour of it with the quantity of figs marmalade. Some red cherry tomatoes with balsamic vinegar would have been perfect with it. <br/><br/>Still a 5 Star. <br/>It was cozy, warm and inviting: beautiful brunch experience

The salmon was good, made me feel like I was not full at all. But the tonic tea I ordered was a little weird I think, I felt stuffed suddenly after I drank them all. My friend had the crepe, I tasted a bit, was good too.
Maggie Fu
It is really good place ,near the bus station. If u choose to drive here,it is also convenient.the surrounding is awesome. but I think the dishes are quite salty for me
Sharon Louie
I had brunch here after a night of drinking. The location was really nice, the decorations on the inside and outside were both really cute. My bf and I both got the Odette’s Complete, but my eggs were scrambled and his were fried. The meal was really filling and all of the ingredients worked so well together, it was fresh and delicious! My scrambled eggs were so moist and they weren’t dry at all. I’ll be back to try other items on the menu soon!

Odettes Eatery DAMN SHE IS GOOD GOOD. Came here for the first time with my 2 girlfriends and was super impressed. It was a really nice day so we asked to be seated outside and the way they've decorated the inside and outside is so modern and cute I love it! I ordered an Iced Mocha and my friends both got a Mango Strawberry Smoothie which they loved and that's probably the best Iced Mocha I've ever had it was delish. For lunch My friend and I got the Odettes Complete which is like egg's which bacon, tomato's, whipped feta and avocado and that was so good omg I can't hype this place up enough. My other friend got the Lemon Crepe which she highly enjoyed. Our drinks took about 2 mins to arrive it was so quick and our food came in about just over 5 mins so the service was so quick. I have nothing bad to say about this place it's my new favourite place to go! x
Karina
Popped in for brunch with some friends and we were all so impressed with the food & service from here. The staff are so lovely and on to it. To drink I had the 'Odettes Mango, Strawberry, Coconut Water' smoothie and so did one of my friend and the other one had an iced mocha. They were presented so well, came out so fast and tasted so good. They also use metal straws which is such an upgrade from soggy paper straws. To eat a friend and I both went for the 'Odettes Complete' - Two Eggs, Tomato, Avocado, Bacon, Whipped Feta, Sourdough. It was presented so well considering it was just eggs on toast and tasted even better than it looked. All the ingredients were so fresh and tasty, we were so impressed. Our other friend had the 'Lemon Crepe' - Rhubarb Compote, Citrus Curd, ANZAC Crunch and she said it was so tasty. All the food here is presented so well, its perfect for photos and the food is some of the best tasting food ever!!!! Can't hype this place up enough. I will 100% be back!!!!!!!!!! Fave cafe EVER :)))))

One of the classic Auckland restaurants, Odettes is where you go for the "business casual" lunch or fancy catch up with foodie friends. Their seasonal menu showcasing the best of fresh ingredients. Among the three dishes, the steak on iron was absolutely delicious - definitely go for round 2. The small dishes are on the smaller side, so get a few to share, or go for the bigger dish.
MCP
A lovely cafe in city works depot, been here few times and never disappoint me, they serve a really good coffee and not to mention their food is so yummy and healthy at the same time!
Aless
Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, Odette’s Eatery is an aesthetic and appetising restaurant for a cute brunch/lunch date. It was slightly confusing ordering from the menu as we didn’t understand the menu however a quick look at their instagram solves that problem.
Vivian C
We ordered Lamb Ribs, Empanada, Confit Duck, and Roast Cauliflower.<br/><br/>The lamb ribs were perfectly soft and fell right apart, the empanada had a delicious and flavourful filling, the duck was also delicious and I loved the pairing of the pear with the dish, although the sauce was a bit too salty. The cauliflower was cooked just the way I liked them, very soft and refreshing.<br/><br/>Friendly service and the ambience was relaxing.
Bex Ellis
Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Food is ok. My fav was the lamb ribs closely followed by the chocolate mousse and drunken cherries. The fries were not crunchy and disappointing but I’ve heard that they are usually pretty good. I’d probably go again to try some of the wood-fired plates.

This place is really really good, the coffee is the best coffee I've ever had, and the food has soo much flavor I think its definitely worth it.
Husk Creative
It was that time of year - Husk, the 2018 Christmas Edition rolled around again with our always endearing “Favourite Things” tradition. More on that later. We sipped cocktails out of petite stainless steel straws, possibly the most aesthetically-pleasing thing we’ve ever seen while waiting for our orders to arrive. We loved the scalloped tiles at the bar and the large, handcrafted glass bulbs that droop and sparkle from the ceiling, these and the oversized cushions at the teal couches give the space an opulent but personable feel. The sharing plates had a Mediterranean slant to them, we especially loved the Wild Mushrooms, packed with umami and the savouriness offset by the rice crepe blanketed over the top. We shared a whole whack of everything and loved the lot, thanks Odettes!  Check out our individual food reviews here: husk.co.nz/lunches/odettes-dec-2018
The Poor Foodie
Food: 3/5<br/>Service: 4/5<br/>Overall: 3.6/5<br/><br/>The sourdough toasts were slightly burnt and were quite hard for me to cut with the knife so later on I ended up eating them with my hands🤦🏻‍♀️ scrambled eggs and smoked salmon were both perfectly done. Really great service from the waiters:)

Been here for a work lunch. Quick. Good quality meals. I had the passion fruit Eaton mess ! Pretty awesome !! Fried chicken was nice. King fish, yummy meat balls !!
Siobhan
Although busy on a Sunday morning, we were able to wait with coffee at the bar seating before receiving a table shortly after. My regular milk latte was very low on foam (even more wet than a flat white) but the almond and soy milk lattes my family ordered looked picture perfect. I then ordered a flat white which was more like the latteI had expected the first time around. The herbed scramble was delicious and came with a generous amount pf broccolino. My aunty loved the mushroom brekky.
Jacynda Darmawan
I am a sucker for aesthetically pleasing restaurants. I think we eat not just with our mouths but also with our eyes. Odettes Eatery is very chic and elegant. A perfect place for a sunday brunch. Or any day's brunch, really. <br/><br/>The food is great. Although the menu doesn't offer a wide range.

Catch up with bestie over a delish meal here. Big Glory Bay Salmon. Sumac & Capers. Crackling. Grilled King Prawns. Smoked Soy, Chilli & Peanut. Just realised this was keto friendly!! Flavours are distinctive and well paired.

Odettes in a word: thoughtful. From the moment you step into the eatery, you are taken care of. The ambience, seating, menu, service has been carefully crafted to ensure an excellent diner experience. And damn son, that food. It’s beyond this world. The creativity, depth of flavour and playfulness that comes through (while ingredient integrity is retained) is a credit to the lovely kitchen staff. Give the crepes or complete brekky a go, you won’t be sorry!

Food with good flavours and nicely presented~ We went there on a Sat for lunch, had to wait for 30min before getting a table, which was the only downside, but we have been told the long wait and decided to stick to it. Did not disappoint us~
FoodiesTable
I live very close but sometimes I am still reluctant to go there as service sometimes is good sometimes bad. Staff completely forgot about our order one time and we waited 40 minutes for coffee. Food is good tho. Love their menu definitely a great date night option<br/>

Stopped off at Odettes Eatery for a nice brunch on New Years Day. Bustling inside and lovely food with welcoming staff. The salmon was delicious and the seeded sourdough was a big hit amongst the group.
David Ting
We ordered the braised short rib and Big Glory Bay salmon for brunch. The braised short rib was on point - tender meat and rich flavour. The savoury crepe along with harrisa and beetroot hummus was a good complement to the meat.<br/>As with the salmon, the fish was beautifully cooked! However, we find that the dish lacks flavours and could really use some sauce. Perhaps their infamous whipped feta could be a good complement. And would've preferred to have more Asparagus rather than having them all chopped up and mixed inside the Freekeh.

Had to come here after hearing the amazing reviews about this place being a must try eatery for brunch. I had got the pork open sandwich and my partner made his own breakfast due to his strict diet. All in all this place was okay for the price, it was nothing amazing.

At what point do you consider yourself a regular at a place when you don't actually live in that city but you try to frequent it every time you're there. Yes, Odettes is my regular.<br/><br/>I have been a few times now....with on either person, with a small group and most recently a group of 11. Every single time was better than the last.<br/><br/>The food is consistently amazing. No matter your poison; vegetarian, GF, meat lover, flexitarian....there is something for you. I always get the Herb Scramble. I haven't found a similar concoction anywhere which is both good and bad.<br/><br/>The coffee is on point. I appreciate that with my LB they bring a jug of water so I can pour the amount of water I want. I always get a second cup there....good sign and deserving of a whole star in it's own right.<br/><br/>The service is great. The staff are attentive and know restaurant service. Plates aren't cleared until everyone is finished...a dying service standard. Oh and importantly they have bubbly water on tap. My Life Wife would give the place 5 stars for that reason alone.<br/><br/>The best thing about the most recent visit is that we sat for a good couple of hours and they didn't mind. They would have had a decent charge out of it but still, they didnt pressure us into needing to turn the table. Given this was a "family" catch up, that was super appreciated.<br/><br/>Thanks Odettes. See you in January 😏

Braised lamb for breakfast. This is a well thought out dish and the peppers are an awesome addition. Highly recommend this. The venue is in a building shared with a group of other nice looking establishments and seemingly busy with morning meetings and coffee. Really nice decor

I liked the food here but my friend didn’t enjoy it so much. I had taken him here to try to impress him as he was from Hong Kong. Guess it’s a bit bland for people who are use to tasty food.

A very good place to have breakfast. There is a wide range of vegetarian options. I would love to try them all. I was quite busy when we went there. The staff are very friendly. The food was amazing too. It was funny how they kept on refilling our water every time we finished our glass or even just when it was half full. In total we had 3 jars of water on our table😂.

Came in for lunch today with mom. Beef short rib sauce was really flavourful. Short ribs were tender. Brown rice crepe was soft and so were the mushrooms. Loved the sauces they used for the dishes. Environment and staff were nice!

I went with my bestie and the staff were very friendly! No one was pushy and nothing was too much trouble. My tea was forgotten but once the mistake was realised it was immediately fixed. The French toast was in my all time top five and I’m currently looking for an excuse to go back.

We had a fantastic experience at Odettes Eatery on Saturday morning. We sat outside, the sun was shining and although there was a slight chill in the wind; the team at Odettes made sure that there were blankets outside to keep us warm. The outside of the restaurant was well maintained and Mandy went above and beyond to suggest we move spaces to be by a heater as soon as the table behind us was free. Where do I start with the food! It was our first time there. I appreciated that the menu was simple and easy to follow - a few key dishes (all mastered and cooked to perfection I'm sure!). I had the Braised Lamb Savoury Crepe with Roasted Peppers, Harissa and Massaman Hummus. A hearty brunch, cooked beautifully.  The lamb was soft and tender, the crepe on top was not too chewy or tough and the taste of the roasted peppers blended nicely with the hummus. For my drink, I ordered the coconut chai - which was a nice finishing touch to the savoury brunch. I've read that Odettes changes it's menu often - I'm looking forward to another trip there and trying something new! On a sunny day, I recommend sitting outside surrounded by the greenery.

Really cute decor and ambience in this place. Plates of food were quite small for the price. The salt and pepper chicken was amazing and the tea smoked duck had a very smoky taste. Didn’t really like the grilled calamari but the black butter pudding was the perfect way to end the meal
Foodiejuly
Came here for dinner. Food was okay...abit bland and very pricey. Sharing plates and main dishes are so small you could eat 4 portions yourself. Good atmosphere but be prepared to leave hungry.
Patricia Pillay
A bit of a wait which is expected as they do not do bookings for under 6 people. However they are prompt you can order coffee while you wait and sit outside. The food and service is great. Would come here again.
Licheng Sun
Beautiful atmosphere to dine at with energetic and friendly staff. They experiment with their menus from time to time to adjust/improve their recipes so the taste is never boring. Perfect 3rd date venue.
Darren Big Belly
Well presented food and the taste to match. <br/>I enjoyed coming here for brunch. One of my partner’s favourite. The photos were from a while ago and from my understanding they change menu quite often. Which is definitely a good thing!<br/><br/>Would surely recommend.

Very impressed with the food! Tasty and fresh, lovely flavors, well cooked!Very friendly staff! Easy to park the car as well, can’t be more happy about this place!<br/>

Spent the weekend exploring Auckland and found Odettes near where we were staying! Atmosphere inside the place was really nice!! Service was quick and very friendly! Breakfast was very nice and I enjoyed the gluten free bread. Only thing that disappointed me was the coffee. Coffee was burnt and over extracted, but other than that lovely wee spot to eat!
Luis Oliva Barrera
What a Nice place to have a Breakfast, or Lunch. Or just a mixture in one of their great Brunches! Is quite nice in the decoration and styleful.
Shannon
Came here for Saturday brunch. Service was really good, staff very friendly and good with checking in to see if we needed anything. They also offered us blankets as we were sitting outside and it was a bit chilly - nice touch 👌 I had the herbed scramble, great dish, the halloumi in particular was really tasty. The food was well presented, my friend’s lamb crepe looked amazing. Hot drinks served in glasses though - not a fan.

I went in after work last week: we ordered the chickpea dumplings and fries to nibble on with our drinks (pinot gris & a happy hour Aperol Spritz cocktail - the orange flavour was a bit too much for me). 4 pieces of dumplings came out and they were surprisingly filling, and tasted sweet and savory at the same time. I thought the fries would be average but they came out served with plenty of sauce/toppings (can’t remember what the topping was exactly but it was good).<br/><br/>We had different staff members come to serve us and they were all very nice and helpful. Water was refilled promptly and same with clearing the empty dishes on our table.<br/><br/>I felt like I had to speak a little louder than usual over the music sometimes but other than that the mood and ambience was set just right with dimmed lights and clean interiors.
Crackerjacker
Amazing amazing food, however it is a little expensive for a student, but sometimes I come out for a treat because they have great food! Every plate is always made to perfection

I came here a bit too late for brunch so I ordered from the noon/night menu. Came with my friend and we ordered two dishes that could apparently be shared. Portion sizes were honestly more small than I expected especially if it is meant for sharing (and expensive for the size - we went next door for bagels afterwards). The dish I ordered is not on the menu that's currently uploaded in the zomato page, but I remember it was something like salmon and pear or whatnot. Not really the best tasting. Friend ordered a mushroom dish which seriously tasted like mushrooms mixed with rice krispies. The setting was lovely. Service was decent. Cappuccino was great. I hope to come again to try out the brunch as I've heard from friends that it's great.

Odettes Eatery is presented in a very modern and chic setting, with a modern atmosphere. Menus differ between lunch and dinner. Dishes are full of flavour and enticing but slightly small portioned and on the pricey range. Good parking.
Wendy Pugh
Fabulous lunch with lamb crepe on hummus and cauliflower salad. Stunning combination highly recommend and service was brilliant. Certainly worth trying
Emily Cryer
Beautiful atmosphere, great staff and amazing food! Their eggs are delish and the coffee is always fantastic. If you have a tickle in your throat I recommend the honey, ginger and lemon tea - it will sort you right out!
S B
Great place for breakfast, with parking right beside the cafe.  I prefer the outdoor seating, but indoor is great too with trendy decor.  The coffee has been excellent, and there is the healthy smoothie options too...the service has always been very friendly and helpful and adapts or adds to a dish as requested with no problems.
Lucy
One of the most beautiful places to eat in Auckland,<br/>The god is amazing and so are the selections of drinks. Staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is great
Jenna
Had the set menu at $40 per head, which all four at the table had to have. More than enough food for all of us. The chicken was especially delicious!
Foodandwinefan
Brunch at Odettes today was great! The coffee here was nice and strong and the food was really good too. Well worth the visit - book if you ah e a big group!
Aimee.
I had really high expectations for this restaurant due to their 4.5 rating. The presentation of the food and set up of the restaurant is stunning. Service is great. <br/><br/>The only thing is they didn’t have an extensive menu for vegan food.
Telia Lepa-Bonner
I'll start by mentioning I haven't come across such an awesome menu filled with so much variety and flavour! A few co-workers and I came for dinner and had the Miso dumplings, Sumac Prawns, Beef shortribs + chips on the side. I'm not a fan of seafood but loved the prawns and how tasty they were. Shortribs were a definite fave and would come back just to order a couple of plates full lol. Chips were especially delicious and crispy. I ordered a cocktail but can't seem to find it on the menu - it didn't disappoint and was presented well. Staff were helpful in recommending what to order and v informative on all the dishes & specials. Nothing bad to say about this place, hence the 5 star :)

Terrible experience. Went for breakfast. Got the Odettes Complete, fries, and mushroom tabouleh and a cappuccino. The food took a while but looked amazing when it finally came. Looks can be deceiving. The complete consists of 1 slice of bread, few rashes of bacon, RAW tomato, 2 eggs, feta whip (delish) and half an avocado. It was a disappointment that the meal was luke warm and the eggs were not grilled. It was like they cut up a tomato and chucked it under the plate and hid jt under the bacon. Considering its the only option/imitation of a eggs bene/ big breakfast it was one of the worst i have ever had, not worth 26$. The tabouleh was bland, we didnt not even finish it. The chips had not flavour and some were under and over cooked. Coffee was small and in a tiny glass? Not normal for a cappuccino. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS UNACCEPTABLE. Various staff served us and none of them were friendly. No one checked up to see if we liked the food or needed anything else. When we complained about the food and provided suggestions you could tell it was not taken seriously. We had no water (again because no one came to our table). The bill was $64, straight after Odettes we went over to Best Ugly and got bagels bc we did not eat much of the food there. We were severely disappointed considering it was highly rated. The only thing it is good for is the instagram photos. We are very disappointed.
Petra
Bit pretentious, average service and average food. Not really worth the hype. Nice interior though and good parking. Worth trying once, but wouldn’t go back.

The best brunch I have had in a long time. <br/>I had the scramble and everything about it was perfect! A generous amount of haloumi and the flavours all worked well together. <br/>Atmosphere and service was also a 10/10
Mashee
Slick and modern eatery in the CBD with friendly and professional staff. The food was fresh, healthy and of high quality. Highly recommend, wouldnt hesitate to return
Eatawayallday
Fantastic eatery. Always my go to place for brunch and recently I have discovered how fantastic their dinner menu is. Great sharing dishes, perfect for groups and the wait staff are fantastic at recommendations. Their coffee is divine and a perfect end to dinner is their espresso martini which has coconut infused vodka. Top recommendation for Auckland, whatever time of day.

Odettes managed to establish itself as an Auckland institution which is something few places are able to do considering how competitive Auckland hospitality has become. <br/><br/>Its not hard to see why though... Odettes has got a menu that stays creative and inventive without losing its accessibility and has the space to match. Going in both day and night services, the night takes on a completely different feel from the day and doesn't really get the attention it deserves. The space goes from bustling into a more intimate affair, with the banquet seating and a perfectly curated wine list really trapping you in for the night. The slower nights also allow the service to be a lot more involved and really gives you the chance to explore the menu and get to enjoy some good banter with the staff and a bit of help if need be.<br/><br/>Having worked in Melbourne hospitality for the past few years, Odettes is a real cut above the rest and deserves every bit of praise it gets.

Very cool space at CityWorks. Had a simple breakfast there, 3 poached eggs, a side of fresh avocado and toasted sourdough. Everything was nice but the micro greens on top contained lots of baby coriander. I can't stand coriander and picked all of it off. Some people love it, some hate it, and because of that best for them to stay away and find something more neutral.

I’m going to be honest here. <br/>Yesterday was my birthday, and because of the good looking food and high rating I decided to give it a go with my friend. The set menu for $40 looked very appealing and was one of the main reasons I chose this place. <br/><br/>I called ahead in the morning (the 2nd nov) and enquired about the set menu. I got told that yes, it was still on, and got told to come on down whenever, as they don’t take bookings. <br/><br/>I arrived with my friend and waited approx 20 mins for a waitress to come over to take our order, even though the place was only half full. I asked about the set menu and was told it wasn’t on anymore. <br/><br/>When I told her that I had called that morning and asked about it and was specifically told it was still on, she got irritated and repeated that it wasn’t on, and then left the table. <br/><br/>The service was poor after that. <br/><br/>Good food, but that’s not the only thing that makes a good cafe. <br/><br/>I don’t know how they got in metro top 50 let alone top 10 with the attitude of their wait staff. <br/><br/>
Joosalong
Flat white was too miiky, and the staff was not kind at all.... when I was done coffee, my friend was still in tea. But they was seem to want to we go out. They kept staring and jabbering. Please respect the guest who came to drink tea.
Rebecca
I had such high expectations. The crab bun was good. The side of celeriac was tasty but the beef short rib was disappointing, way too dry and too large a serve for one
Sharon Kan
We were never disappointed every time we visited Odettes! Their non-vegetarian dishes are delicious and nicely presented, but I am especially impressed by their vegetarian dishes even though I am not a vegetarian: every dish retained the freshness, the natural favours of seasonal vegetables, and was beautifully seasoned and presented. We also love the ambience of this place and enjoyed every meal with friends and family here.
Gorgeous_mojo
Went here for a weekend brunch. We ordered big breakfast, food was good but a bit surprised that it's only bacon they have for meat with the price you pay,we're expecting more meat like sausages not just 2 piece of bacon. The whipped feta dressing was good with a citrus kick on a palate. Avocado was generous serving, bread was just one piece. i would say the description of big breakfast was not accurately described on the menu. Coffee was burnt and serve earlier so it wasn't warm anymore by the time we got the food as it took 30mins for the food to arrive. We have to keep asking for cutlery and serviettes as we don't have any on our table. <br/>Busy is not an excuse to not give a good customer service each customer deserve.
Lyvie
• Good service<br/>• Lovely, clean ambience<br/>• Pricy $$$<br/>• Small food portions<br/>• Food presentation is a bit boring<br/>• Food came out quickly 👍<br/><br/>(Tbh it's slightly over-hyped from Instagram)<br/><br/>

I am so disappointed in my experience at Odettes a few weeks ago. I met a few friends there who wished to have the @express lunch, myself I was up for whatever was going, but as the express didn't have vegetarian options, I opted for something off the menu. if a person orders an express at the table, the waitress told me every person has to order the express lunch. I did not want the express lunch because it did not have a vegetarian option, so after trying to explain this to the waiter, they eventually agreed to go rogue and allow me to order something different. <br/>Well the waitress was clearly pissed off because she literally threw the plates at us in disgust and was so damn rude, the only reason I didn't walk out was because my friend knew the manager and did not want to make a scene. we are known Auckland foodies and always respectful to staff, the experience was so unacceptable, the food basic and hardly worth the time. not a good team working at Odettes, clearly they don't give a toss about the customer. I would not recommend this place to anybody if they want an experience where the customer is treated with respect and kindness. There are too many waitresses like this in Auckland, Odettes needs to lift it's game and teach their staff to be a little more humble towards the customer.

it was a bit pricy consider about their food <br/>presentation and service. Very small portion meals. All meals look really good but tasted average. Probably will not visit again.

Hands down the best coffee I've ever had, it's rare for me to order more than one coffee, food was amazing as well, had the herbed scramble with bacon and gf had the mushrooms and we were raving about it hours after. amazing breakfast.

We went here for a Father's Day breakfast, 2 adults and an 8 year old. <br/><br/>Summary: Went primarily based on previous reviews, would not rate out at 4.6 on average and will not return. Too pricey, food was tasty yet cool across all drinks and meals, room wasn't warm. <br/><br/>Food: Ordered the Complete based on previous reviews, ordered with scrambled eggs but it arrived as poached instead. Only the eggs and bacon were hot on the dish but these were cool to eat. The whipped feta is tasty, no doubting that. The complete dish though is not a typical big breakfast by volume. The mushroom pancakes were flavoursome. Both of the hot chocolate and long black drinks arrived cooler than normal based on the drinkers feedback including the 8 year old. He did state though that it was very nice. <br/><br/>Ambience: We arrived at opening time so plenty of seating. Was surprised at the lack of heating inside. Nice ambient music and decor. <br/><br/>Service: Prompt and friendly service from all staff, this was nice. We did receive a pair of father's day socks as we left which was a nice touch.

Last week, I tried Odettes Eatery's special $40 Restaurant Month menu - a four course banquet shared between four.<br/> Click the link to find out more! x

My first time having brunch with friends at Odettes today. The atmosphere was lovely and the staffs were very nice. It was a busy place and you would get seated only if everybody arrived. While waiting, I ordered a cup of cappuccino at the counter. It was a boutique size coffee. For food, I ordered the Braised Beef Shin with beetroot kimchi and crepe. The presentation was gorgeous and the beef shin was very tender. Beetroot kimchi gave it a nice taste. Friends ordered the Odettes Completed. Again presentation was great and the portion was huge. Will certainly return to try other options.

Heard so many great things online about this place, so of course I had to go try it.<br/>The service here is great, and the food comes out really quickly. I was expecting a bit of a wait since the presentation is so good, there's quite a bit of elements and the place was pretty much full. <br/>Really wanted to try the crab sliders but guttered to find out that they are on the lunch menu which doesn't start until 3pm (!?). <br/>Ended up getting the vanilla crepes and roasted carrot. I didn't try the crepes but the roasted carrot dish was absolutely delicious. Can't recommend enough!! Will be good for dieters. We also got the energiser juice.

Always my go to brunch spot! Although this place is pretty pricy, the food certainly does not disappoint. Nearly always go with the 'Odettes Complete' as the whipped feta is amazing 😊

I'm a brunch connoissuer and I love trying out new cafes all around Auckland every weekend. As such, I don't usually like to go back to places I've been before. But I make an exception for odettes. It is fabulous! I've been here 10 or 12 times and every single time the food has absolutely delighted me. The coconut chai tea is delicate and scrumptious. The city works breakfast is always a hit, and their short ribs are melt in your mouth delicious.<br/>Plus the decor is just gorgeous. I love the vibrant blue tiles and comfy pillows on the seats.<br/>Keep up the good work odettes!<br/>
Rachael Turnseck
Food not particularly groundbreaking, small serves (including for coffee), average service, was asked to leave because people were waiting and then tried to snatch my newspaper from me. Wouldn't go back - much better cafes with friendlier staff and better food. Disappointing.

I like Odettes Eater very much. Firstly the interior is beautiful, love the contemporary & artistic taste. Also spacious table setting, friendly service. <br/>Moreover food were delicious, I had soft-shell crab sliders that was so good I wanted to eat forever.<br/>"Wild Mushrooms" was unexpectedly delicious. The Truffle Pancake with wild mushrooms it was the best mushrooms dish I've ever had. I enjoyed the whole experience. I'd love to come back to try other dishes 😊
Emily
My fav restaurant amongst city works depot for brunch. ( herbed scramble, odettes complete 2 of my fav menus ) Atmosphere, food, coffee and staff are all fantastic. Portions are huge too. If you're looking for a place that wont disappoint, this is one :)<br/>Love that they have midnight baker breads too!
Hungryfoxbb
Great decor, upbeat & loud atmosphere as you would expect, from everyone catching up on their Sunday brunch date. Food was exceptional, coffee was good and the service was good too. I will definitely be back.
David_K
Fantastic breakfast at this Auckland eatery. I went the mushrooms and poached egg, they served up a modern a tasty take on this classic dish.<br/><br/>A little on the $$ side, but quality was superb.
Wapatino
Great ambiance, service, and most importantly great food!<br/><br/>I highly recommend the Odettes Complete if you go for brunch. It's delicious! <br/><br/>I don't give this place a 5 because it's pricey, the Odettes Complete is $25 alone, but at least you get excellent food. Will be going back soon 😊!
The Food Reviewers.
We have eaten many breakfasts here.<br/>The coffee is excellent. The barista never fails to make it perfectly.<br/>Their dishes are great. Free range meats & eggs, showcasing beautiful NZ produce.<br/>Presentation is always lovely and they pack lots of good fresh flavours into each dish.<br/>The space itself is gorgeous, light & airy with a scandi feel.<br/>Their juices are really good and the odettes complete for breakfast is our usual choice. Boring to always order the same but when its consistently good who cares!<br/>The staff are accomodating and friendly. The waits can be long depending on when you go but they run it efficiently.<br/>The only thing we'd like to be different is how close some of the tables are. We loathe being there when a table of twits is sitting so close next to you that every scrap of their conversation permeates your ears no matter how hard you try to tune it out.

Amazing service and staff! Great food too. Definitely filling and mouth watering. Would recommend this place to anyone. Have only heard good things about this place

Came here for dinner. Beautifully appointed space. Parts of the restaurant are very dimly lit at night, so if your eyesight isn't the best, be prepared as the menu font is small. Anyway, service was perfect from the time we entered to the time we left. Ordered the crab sliders to begin with. Delicious! So crisp & fresh & not too oily. Then we had the wild mushrooms, again perfect. For dessert I had the Feijoa pudding. Really nice. I don't know what took me so long to come here, but I will definitely be back!

Came here for brunch. The food's amazingly delicious and just the right portion. Everything tasted so fresh, too, including the cold pressed juice. I rang first to book and upon learning they don't have a high chair I was ready to drop the booking, but the lady I spoke to on the phone was bright and assertive, and told me she can sit us in a corner table where our 16 month old can sit comfortably. I'm so impressed with the service and the way that lady was able to think on her feet. Will definitely come back.

Brunching at Odettes is such a treat.  The food is interesting and delicious, the staff and service are consistently excellent, and the eatery itself is gorgeous and cosy.  I would especially recommend the Vanilla Crepe if you're craving something sweeter, Short Rib Sandwich or Wild Mushrooms for savoury tastbuds.  And order the chips ... they're the best in Auckland.   Coffee is also very good and ask for it in a takeaway cup if you fancy a slightly larger serving.
Mysticmojito
One of my fave allrounders, nice relaxed vibe for an early morning coffee, relaxed weekend breakfast or evening meal. Always seem well staffed, and welcoming.
Ryan Wong
It's been a long time coming and the Odette breakfast is to date my favourite big brekkie I've ever had. The quality of the ingredients, crispness of the bacon, the oozing of the poached eggs makes me want to crave some more! Serving size was satisfactory with my only note being the coffees being too small (no options for large) that being said I will definitely be coming around again real soon!
S&G Take Auckland
The food here is lovely, I would recommend going with a large group of friends because the menu is more of a "sharing" style, so it is better to order a few different dishes. I was quite disappointed that the chips were over cooked. Apart from this wee issue the rest of the food was delicious.
Carina Chang
pricy working day lunch. The sharing plates on the menu are quite small than we expected, kinda like a normal main course for one person. we had tuna capaccio, braised goat and steak for sharing, all of them are great, just not enough for three people
Charlotte Gibbs
Menu is on point at Odettes! I have actually only ever been for breakfast and coffee, but it is fabulous! Nothing too fancy and reasonable prices for what you get. The coffee is always on point and consistent! Next time I need to come for dinner
Kieran
Whoa, Dear Jervois move over ....<br/><br/>It seems every time I venture outside of my comfort zone to experience a new eatery, it upstages my last fave.<br/><br/>It's birthday Sunday and instead of sticking to the tradition of making blueberry pancakes with bacon and maple at home we thought it'd be good to venture out to Odette's and see what's on offer.<br/><br/>Their brunch menu I swear is the first cafe styled menu I've seen, not to feature the classic Eggs Benedict. You know you're in for a treat when a restaurant skips a default menu items like Eggs Benny. They're not wanting to cover old ground, they're wanting you to experience something different.<br/><br/>The Spiced Short Rib with savoury Crepe, Baba Ghanoush and Apple Salsa was devine, refined and sublime. The meat, moist and tender, the Baba Ghanoush salty and sweet, the crepe adding a pillowy texture to accompany the meat and a great way to mop up the excess Baba Ghanoush, I wasn't convinced with the Apple Salsa however the rest of the dish more than made up for it.<br/><br/>The Braised Goat was just as delicate, moist and flavoursome, slow cooked goat on Ricotta and spinach served with a Fazzoletto (handkerchief) of pasta on top. Another wonderful yet simple dish.<br/><br/>Btw, this place is busy, lots of people know about it, there's a good reason for that, it's ruddy good! Be prepared to wait for a table if you haven't booked prior.<br/><br/>Odette's = bangin'
Eat Drink Anon
Very busy & popular brunch spot with airy modern fit out in City Works depot complex. Inside or patio dining. Offers several interesting brunch choices (beats the usual boring eggs on toast) - flavoursome and well executed. Would return.
Charles Ho
Average coffee, loot warm on presentation. Brunch meals are half cold, half hot with underwhelming variation in taste. Menu does not represent food themselves. 3/5 at best.
Treasa
Came for breakfast while visiting Auckland, brunch menu isn't extensive but when the food arrives you realise that they do every dish extremely well. Portions were small but food was exceptional, simple dishes like scrambled egg done so well, very delicate. Surrounds are fab too!
Mrs Dine Out Alot
Fabulous.....the food is refreshingly and unexpectedly different and delicious!! I eat out regularly and have realized I will happily tell you where not to eat but forgot to flag the restaurants that stand out for the right reasons. Well this is a goodie!! I have eaten here several times and have experienced consistently great food and exceptionally good service. Well done Odettes!!
Nathalie
Dined here for breakfast with the fam. The place was pretty packed, but we were seated promptly. Breakfast menu was pretty straight forward (bread, bacon, egg etc) and very simple. We ordered free range eggs with sides of bacon, salmon and black coffee and latte (really good) and odettes complete. Price wise was $95 for four adults breakfast with coffee. Decent serving size and lovely ambiance, great service! Will<br/>Be back!
Chocolate Habibi
Probably the best cafe I have ever been to in New Zealand. The fit out is pimp which makes you think as an average Jo you would be made to feel a little uncomfortable but the staff are friendly, light hearted and get a feel for there customer before approaching them. I have found this skill which is mastered in a lot of melbourne establishments can sometimes lack around the western world. The food as well was interesting, well and simply presented and pack a punch on the flavour spectrum. My lamb and roti was 10/10, thanks for the experience guys!

I believe it's true when people say that 'We eat with our eyes first'. Positive first impression of the déco and vibe when I step foot at this Metro Top 50 eatery. Odettes definitely live up to their reputation of mouthwatering offerings and amazing service.<br/><br/>I had a girls night out at Odettes. Here's what we've tried:<br/>BITES<br/>* Confit Chicken Fritters Pine Nut, Zhoug & Aioli<br/>* Spinach Dumplings Goat Curd, Shitake Mushroom Pickle<br/>* Chips- Berbere, Honey Mustard, Curry Leaves<br/><br/>Normal serving sizes are 4pcs for dumplings and 3pcs for chicken fritters, but the waiter asked if we would like to make it 5 each as we've got five of us. From my many dining experiences, this may be the first time a restaurant is flexible with their serving size. Two thumbs up for them. Thanks!<br/><br/>Fritters - yum, Dumplings - was OK, but mushrooms were good, Chips - OMG! To-die-for! The flavours just go bursting in your mouth.. mmmmm probably the best chips I've had.<br/><br/>FOR SHARING<br/>* Ora King Salmon Vichyssoise, Eggplant Kasundi, Mache - you can't go wrong with Ora King<br/><br/>TO SHARE FROM THE GARDEN<br/>* Heirloom Carrot Almond Mousse, Zucchini, Puy Lentil - beautifully fresh<br/><br/>TO SHARE FROM THE WOOD-FIRE<br/>* Braised Lamb Shoulder Lemon & Pine Nut Gravy - I'm usually not a fan of lamb, but their braised lamb is just lovely<br/><br/>Oh, the Sodas are simply stunning!<br/>We'll be back.
Jihye Kang
Was treated for a Sunday brunch here.<br/><br/>* Beautiful interior design and atmosphere, lovely indoor and outdoor area<br/>* Dishes that both taste absolutely delish and are presented immaculately<br/>* Friendly and attentive staff<br/>* Free sparkling water. Yay!<br/><br/>Perfect for a Sunday brunch or a date night. Had to give 4.5 out of 5 because the dishes are a little pricey and WiFi did not work despite the fact the waitress assured us that there is free WiFi.
Bella Qian
Been here so many times and I've loved it each time. Great atmosphere and service. The drinks are good ( recommend their smoothies) and their fries are amazing. My favourite is their duck wrap but everything I have tried from odettes has been very good. Would definitely recommend for both lunch and dinner
Josh
Sunday brunch at Odettes was fantastic. The place was busy but service was fast and friendly. Great food, the crepes in particular were fantastic. The scrambled eggs were some of the best I've had. Will definitely be back next time we visit Auckland
Jessica
From the outside this place is gorgeous. The décor is really nice with their outdoor seating but also inside very modern and fancy. The presentation was very nice. I had the chocolate crepes which were amazing! With a watermelon juice. If you can get a table here, defiantly would recommended to everyone.
LAC
Love this restaurant! One of my favourites in Auckland. Plenty of vegetarian options and the service has always been top quality. Looking forward to my next meal there :)

Beautiful space and wonderful, friendly staff that made recommendations and made us feel welcome. An interesting and unique menu that is great for having sharing plates with friends. This place has a great eye for detail and will definitely tempt you to come back again and again!

Odette’s has long been on our list of places to try and this past Monday we had the opportunity to have brunch there. Set in the City Works development on Wellesley Street West, the décor is simplistic and relaxed with an almost Scandinavian feel.<br/><br/>Bustling and busy, almost every table was full on Bank Holiday Monday and we felt lucky we’d called ahead and booked in advance. Even the outdoor tables were full on this sunny yet still chilly day. Special Thanks to Lauren Fitzpatrick the manager who welcomed us with her lovely smile and the way she seamlessly managed this busy restaurant.<br/><br/>We began with the Turkish Bagel – Goat Curd, Beetroot and Rhubarb Jam and Candied Walnut. A perfectly toasted soft bagel arrived with whipped goats cheese and topped with the most flavoursome beetroot and rhubarb jam. Note that this dish is very sweet and although the saltiness of the goats cheese offset much of the sweetness we were grateful we ordered some salty chips on the side to counteract it!<br/><br/>We also ordered the Three Egg Omelette with Kingfish, Sprouted Lentil Pickle and Edam. The Kingfish was a wonderful addition to the soft fluffy omelette while the pickle and Edam complimented the fish beautifully.<br/><br/>We’re suckers for carpaccio so simply had to order the Yellowfin Tuna Carpaccio with Black Rice, Onion Dressing and Sour Cream. The fish was light, fresh and succulent, however it came with a LOT of watercress!<br/><br/>Next came what we consider to be the best chips in Auckland. Seriously – please contact us if you’ve found better………. Thick, crispy and fluffy piping hot chips coated in Berbere Spice, Aioli and Curry Leaves, these are the kind of chips dreams are made of.

It was great to finally eat here for dinner catching up with a large group of friends. We had a few pre-dinner cocktails from their menu - some good options. The espresso martini & honey highball were particularly good.<br/>Service was great throughout the night - friendly, engaging & knowledgable of the food & drinks menu.<br/>We decided to try a range of dishes - this is very much the type of menu where you order & share. I'm not normally a fan but it worked well & we tried most of the menu!<br/>All dishes were enjoyed, and I couldn't upload all pics, but particular faves were the Aranacini balls, Merguez sausage, gurnard bites, beef shin & Beetroot jam. The desserts were delish too. <br/>Can't wait to visit again - their brunch is well worth trying too.

Had the best service today when I visited, the food was amazing as was the coffee <br/><br/>Nothing but the best form this place , eggs were perfectly poached, avocado was well seasoned and the best part was by far the whipped feta . <br/><br/>Will definitely be heading back when I'm next in Auckland.

Today was my second time in Odette's. First one was a very pleasant experience. We had brunch/late lunch there for a friend's birthday. <br/><br/>So I suggested that we do lunch as well there today since a catch up was in order with some friends. <br/>I love the restaurant's aesthetics. It was simple yet elegant. I was just disappointed that the menus are not available or they have certain times for certain menu. And the lunch menu was somewhat overly pricey. And it's supposedly "to share" but when it came, it was really quite the sharing portion. <br/><br/>We order the Mahy Farms Chicken with pearl barley gravy, grilled leeks and topped with salash chorizo. Charred broccolini with green pepper and truffle vinaigrette, baby beetroot and grated pecorino cheese. And lastly, we had chips with honey mustard and aioli topped with fried curry leaves. It was yummy but again I believe it is over priced. <br/>
Louise
Absolutely tasty food. There were 4 of us and we definitely Viet ordered - but ate it all! Favourites were the pork rolls, haloumi & baked Camembert. Even the broccoli was Delish. A must to eat at. I'm looking forward to going again.

After months of drooling over the menu we finally made it to Odette's for dinner. We turned up a little bit late for a Tuesday night but were welcomed in without issue. With dietary intolerances it's always a welcome relief to have staff who are accommodating, knowledgable and check with the chefs when they are uncertain. The service couldn't have been better in this regard. There weren't a lot of dairy free options but we were still happy with our choices and ended up with delicious dishes. I had the nut caramel for dessert which was quite a bitter dish with strong cacao flavours and the caramel was very soft which I wasn't expecting. Overall, we'll definitely be back.
Alexandra
Went for brunch and the food was to die for - can't wait to go back for dinner! The photo is evidence of this. Chips with curry leaves and honey mustard cannot be missed! The perfect addition to any meal.

One of the best cafes in Auckland for sure. Very good food with very nice plating. This place is always so busy and has good vive. Coffee is absolutely amazing also.
Debbie Sugrue
Tasty, good coffee - <br/><br/>The options I had here were both at about noon so felt good to have a rich and lighter combo on the menu! <br/><br/>The staff were great and the atmosphere was good too! I hope to return soon
Oliver Hutchinson
Great food and lovely environment, this is the third time i've been in and i've yet to be let down. The chips with curry leaves are a stand out dish i would definitely reccomend!<br/>Stefano was our waiter and his service was great. Very friendly and helpful. My mum liked the prosecco and he made sure to write down the region it was from and tell her where she could buy it, which was above and beyond.
G
Lovely crepes. Menu selection was good - had its own unique things, not just the generic eggs benedict, French toast etc. Great service, not too long of a wait. Nice vibes. Would definitely come back :)

Love this place! The food was absolutely gorgeous, presentation 10/10, ambience 10/10 Service 9/10. The food was delicious, although the breakfast menu was very limited in my opinion there is enough there to make every foodie type happy. I love love love the ambience and decor, very cosy yet modern, simple and elegant - great job on interior design. We ordered the Odettes complete, City works and Kumara mash - all very well presented and tasty enough, didn't need any salt added. Standard cafe food and pricing, nothing special taste wise (still yummy!), it was the aesthetics that drew me in more. <br/>Would like to revisit this cosy spot to try their afternoon nibbles and drinks.
Foodathon
One of my favourite breakfast spots in the city, the atmosphere and service is always spot on! I tried something different Spiced pork sausage this time but was bit bland on its own. Favourite is still the Odette's Complete! Bit on the pricer side but you're paying for the ambience
Mel Jacka
Came here with a friend for brunch. We were absolutely stuffed when we left!I went out of my comfort zone with ordering what I did - there weren't too many gluten free options, I ate all of my main but we couldnt finish the side we shared. Service was great. Worth a crack if you're thinking about going.
JonDonald
Very busy on Queens Birthday Monday, but good coffee so didn't mind the wait.<br/>Unfortunately my daughter's order had peanuts which were not mentioned (very surprising for a café that purports to be healthy & natural). The staff kindly made her another dish without the peanut sauce (but we had to pay for that)<br/>So with the 15% surcharge it turned out to be a very expensive breakfast.
Irish Eyes
What a special treat to be taken here for lunch. It was about a month ago and the slight Autumn chill led us to sit inside. The place was humming just before noon and it was easy to see why. We selected a light Rose from the quite extensive wine menu to enjoy while deciding what to order. The Mushroom Donuts with creamy feta and the Gurnard bites were both flavoursome and quite substantial, but we still managed to eat the most tender Beef Short Rib as well! Loved every mouthful! Finished the meal with a robust coffee. The lunch was pricey and the servings were generous. Well worth it for a special Occassion. Only concern was that the tables were quite close to each other. Would love to try the breakfast menu, perhaps in the summer when we can sit outside.
Mezza
Heard great stuff about Odettes and it didn't disappoint. Headed in early and we were promptly greeted and seated. BF ordered the lobster tortellini- it looked beautiful and creamy. BF said it was good but a little weird for breakfast. I had the mushrooms with donuts, whipped feta and an egg. I simply loved it! Massive portion which I couldn't finish. <br/>The food is delicious, service is fast and the coffee is so good.
Shirley Yu
Totally enjoyed the lunch here. We ordered four dishes for three of us and every dishes tasted so nice. The atmosphere was pleasant and the waitresses were patient and recommended the special dishes to us( eg. Mushroom donuts).<br/>Nice try and I will come here again some time.

One of the most unique breakfast menus I've seen so far. Guess what I had at 8.30am and was available? Confit octopus! Initially I was having food envy because my plate only looked like salad with octopus but as I continued eating, the combinations of flavours felt like happiness bursting in my mouth! <br/><br/>My dry cappuccino was perfectly done! And feedback from the rest of the table was great. <br/><br/>Service was professional and really quick. Decor was sleek industrial but super elegant. Like any good restaurants, be ready to wait if you are heading here for brunch. 10am and it was packed! We came here at 8.15 and loved how it was empty but got kicked out for overstaying. <br/><br/>If you need a fancy treat, this is the place! They also do morning cocktails:)
Claudia
Odettes eatery has delicious consistent food, no doubt about it, but I wish there was larger proportions. Especially if it's made to share. My friend and I shared 3 starters, 2 mains, and 1 dessert and left feeling like we could've eaten more. A lot more. Some items are a bit overpriced but would be worth it had the portions actually been larger. I would return again but probably only for a light refuel snack and not expecting to be full.
Michelle Hwang
First of all, have to insist that the below dessert dishes were not recommendable. <br/>1. chocolate crepes - the real one was very very different from the official photo, it just looked like a chocolate gap covered everything under it. <br/><br/>2. banana custard - not matched with its price $13.00 , not tasty.<br/><br/>Secondly, for the baked snapper, it's tasty and good texture, but the serving size was not matched with its price at $60.00<br/><br/>And for the half chicken, very hard to describe the taste, but it's not made with a natural sweet flavor. <br/><br/>Service was really good, but low price effective.<br/>
Stu
Service-less to say the most.  We spent almost $600 on a quiet evening with a friend here tonight (three of us) and I am gob smacked (to say the least) at how bad the service was.  While some of the food was good and some was ok the service was terrible - and they were only approx. 20% full.  Our first waitress was good but once she went home it was almost impossible to get service and our orders were constantly forgotten.<br/><br/>Repeatedly throughout the night we saw 'active' (that being the operative word) staff talking with staff who were finished shift and having drinks at the bar rather than delivering what we had orderd 20-30 mins prior, depite repeat requests.  Given that this place was 20% max. full I can only imagine how much worse it would get if it was busier.
Anh Doe
Odettes never fails to please. One of the best sharing plates eateries in Auckland. The airy light indoor space and gorgeous weather proof outdoor seatings are perfect for all occasions. Make sure you get the whole chicken, and don't think twice on desserts. Their banana custard number is a delightful treat.

Walked 15mins in a raining day to get here, waited 5 mins for a table (been lucky coz the host first advised that we will need to wait around 20mins) but the food was worth waiting for!!! Bellini was amazing too, perfect drink to have for brunch when ur on vacation xD we ordered the Complete and the Lentils, yummy!!! Strongly recommend.

Love the ambience at this place. It has become my go-to place for coffee and breakfast. I personally love their breakfast menu, especially the crepe and the maple granola. The taste and quality of the food is always immaculate. 👍🏻👍🏻

Finally got to go there! We went before 10, were seated quickly. We were offered water and we ordered trim flat whites and a cuppa! <br/>For food from the brunch menu we got the wild mushroom, odettes complete and herbed scramble. Food arrived in a reasonable time. The flavour was spot on- engages the palate and leaves a pleasant taste with every mouthful. The decor and ambience are great. It got very busy after 10! The staff were very friendly and polite- and knowledgeable with suggestions. Would surely dine there again!
Amanda B
Love this place but felt the breakfasts were a bit pricey. Got there at 9am and it was still quite busy. There were a couple of girls serving and they were really attentive. It had a great vibe and was sorry to see the miss pings toilet door collages had gone :)

We went to Odettes because people around us has been raving about the place and the photos of food they posted always looked too pretty to eat (even though it wouldn't be true for me).<br/><br/>The furnishing of Odettes is simply modern with sleek designs and minimalistic cutleries and utensils. It is one of the most spacious Cafes we've been in a long time and it is just buzzing with some good looking people scoffing down some deliciously looking food.<br/><br/>The place was very busy on a Saturday morning. Luckily their turnover was very quick so we didn't have to wait too long to get a seat. Their menu looked fantastic with a variety of dishes that will cater for different tastes.<br/><br/>I ordered the Wild mushroom dish while the Spiced Beef short ribs caught my partner's eyes. The Wild mushroom was just delicious, the mushrooms very woody and full of savoury goodness paired nicely with the creamy wipped Persian feta, which is neither too salty nor overpowering. I thought the donuts would be a weird sweet pairing against the savoury, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise because they weren't flavoured with sugar. They were a lovely addition to people who still like some carbs with their cheese and veggies.<br/>The short rib was also delicious; juicy, moist and full of spice in a big portion. The brioche was a nice twist too. Unfortunately I didn't get too many bites because my partner was a bit too occupied in stuffing it all rather than sharing.<br/>One tiny thing I have to say though, is that the mushroom dish can become too heavy towards the end. This is probably only because of the grilled mushrooms in oil with the richness of the egg and then the density of the feta, as well as the portion being so generous. Other than that, I couldn't fault it.<br/><br/>The staff were super friendly and attentive. They looked so cute with their uniform and apron it's a nice touch that matches with their overall cafe ambience.<br/><br/>Will certainly visit them a lot more often now, and especially keen to try their dinner menu and drinks!<br/><br/>
Christian
This is a Bistro style restaurant- modern, chic and reasonably priced. I particularly loved the crepes which were light, fluffy and delicious. If I have to think about one negative point, that would be the layout of the place. It's in a massive factory-like room so it may not be as intimate as other similar restaurants.
Alan
Went for the lunch menu and it was fabulous. Great welcome menu explained accurately in comfortable well appointed area. Food arrived in timely fashion. <br/>We shared pork belly dumplings gurnard bites and the half lamb shoulder. All delicious with tasty and well thought out accompaniments. A memorable and very Good Friday. We'll be back.

I love this place, from the elegant store setting to the staff uniform (navy my color 👍🏼) ❤️ The food is so fresh and tasty. I come here mainly for brunch on weekends. My usual order is Odettes Complete which has bread, bacon, 2 eggs and avocado on a creamy cheese spread, and the Odettes Smoothie which has almond and banana 💓 They also have yummy Chocolate crepes and the sourdough from Were bros 😌 The staff is friendly, though the waiting time is a bit long as the place is often fully packed. It's so great to find a perfect place for brunch in city central (most of them are in Ponsonby 😅). Highly recommended ❤️

I've been here a couple of times and each time has ended in good food and a solid experience. The tables and seating is set out so you're not put directly next to those beside you (appreciated) with both outside and indoor seating. The prices are a little on the higher side (making it a place that I might not frequent as often as I might want to) but the food is good enough to warrant it most of the time. The service however has been what has stood out both visits with enough interaction and check ups to always have water but also not so much that it was overbearing and forced.

Stumbled across this place when trying the botanist (downstairs) recently and knew I had to come back to it. The service was alright, I hate to say it since I had high expectations but I felt like they didn't want me to 'be there' but they were nice regardless. I absolutely love the interior of this place, it has a gorgeous Scandinavian feel to it 💕. The food was of the highest quality I've ever had for breakfast, competing with Rosie (in Parnell). The price point makes sense once you take your first bite 😍. Also, the food comes incredibly quickly!! Definitely a place to check out at least once

Came here for lunch with friends. When we first entered we were greeted with a large smile by the lady at the counter who seated us immediately. We made a note of letting her know we were on a time restraint and she was super accommodating and made great recommendations. We had an array of dishes and the portion sizes were a lot larger then I thought they would be! The Wild Mushrooms and Puy Lentils were to die for as was the Warmed Veggies. Staff are super efficient and the service was flawless. Definitely stop in if you're in the area

Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. I’d happily take all three (in the same day) at Odettes and still go back for more. The menu is fresh, seasonal and creative, and caters well for vegetarian and gluten free diets. The food is also perfectly designed to make up a sharing feast for couples and groups alike –  rather than choosing from ‘entrees’ or ‘mains’ you’re presented with a long tempting list of dishes that arrive from the kitchen as they are ready.

Came here with a large group for my birthday lunch on a Sunday. There were some positives and negatives, but mostly positive :)<br/><br/>They had prepared a nice table for us and were even nice enough to provide us with an extra table when we requested one despite the busy morning. We ordered our drinks and they came promptly.<br/><br/>We ordered our food which surprisingly also came quickly and all together which is awesome so there was no awkward waiting for each other's foods. Between us, we got some wild mushrooms, crayfish tortellinis, Odettes completes and fries.<br/>Initially I wanted the short ribs but they ran out so I got the Odettes complete too which was fine since it was delicious. <br/><br/>Everyone around the table seemed to be enjoying their meal too. The only let down was the tortellinis which were very heavy and needed some bread to soak up the soup. Flavour was also a bit on the sweet side. Probably the let down dish. The mushrooms were really good with the whipped feta. The Odettes complete breakfasts were also really nice but the bread could've been better. A bit tough. Oh and the hand cut fries are just delicious! <br/><br/>Atmosphere was great. Service was a bit of a hit and miss. Sometimes they were attentive but others they seemed a bit borderline rude. But overall, we had a good time. Not a bad place for brunch. Would happily come back for that short ribs.

After a big morning walk we went to Oddetts as they always put a creative spin on there meal selection.<br/><br/>We had a the mushroom donut with bacon, yes donuts made from mushroom powder, go figure? And I had the eggs on whole grain toast with salmon and hand cut fires with aioli, this was a true man food porn moment - Chips on a bed of aioli, food from the gods!!!!!!<br/><br/>Great place to eat, food is always banging with flavour and service is fast.

I do love coming here, recently it seems like the waiters just spout out the rote learned menu description, then seem really frustrated when you ask what items mean. Next time I'm going to google the words I don't understand to save myself the humiliation! The food is divine however and I do think this is one of Auckland's best!

Incredible atmosphere especially on a sunny day. <br/><br/>Make sure you try the Avocado Hummus very flavoursome, Coffee is outstanding, and the staff are very friendly they seem like they enjoy working there.

Already heard great things about this place before coming here for lunch today - lived up to all my expectations!I only ordered their homemade Apple Cucumber & Mint soda ($10), pork belling dumplings ($9) and the duck confit ($13). All the dishes were "Bite" sized, but 2 items were enough for me to feel very satisfied. The drink was delicious, very refreshing and it was nice how you the apple was the base flavour and the cucumber and mint weren't too overpowering as they can be.The pork belly dumplings were ok, but due to my ethnicity being Asian I am more accustomed to Chinese dumplings. The duck confit was fantastic! Would definitely come back again just to order that again. It came in a small wrap and the meat was so flavourful, the wrap was not bland at all (as many wraps can be).Highly recommend to try at least once, but will definitely come back again!

There are some amazing flavours you can taste at Odettes. <br/><br/>Went there for some breakfast, after some minutes on the table I thought there was no table service and went directly to the cashier to make my order.<br/><br/>Just after that the waiter said he was sorry and after that the service was very good. Had some wild mushrooms with persian feta, donuts and basil. The taste was delicious and the presentation very beautiful.<br/><br/>The place itself is very nice, with a contemporary and cozy arcgtecture and design.<br/><br/>It really worths the visit. <br/><br/>The only drawback was the sour coffee.

Disappointed with "Gluten free" labeling. Would not recommend to coeliacs! Gluten free bread - not coeliac friendly because it has oats that may contain gluten. So why the hell is it called gluten free bread if it's not! Many other things on the menu had to be double checked whether gluten free and were not - e.g. gluten free desert! Imagine three years old that was looking forward to a desert and to find out once brought that it's acctually not really gluten free! Reinforces NEED TO KEEP ASKING WHETHER REALLY GLUTE FREE options or just written on menu for trendy reason! Otherwise food was very good and they were willing to prepare a gluten free omelet for lunch for our three years old coeliac daughter. But points down for gluten free labeling!

Great visit here today, there is a lot of space for parking (pay and display) and the place itself is quite easy to find.<br/><br/>The four of us came for lunch and ordered:<br/>2 chocolate crepes ($13 each)<br/>1 Baby Agria ($12)<br/>1 Duck confit wrap ($13) <br/>3 Iced coffees ($7 each)<br/><br/>NB: on the menu the sesame donuts are marked as gluten free and this is a typo so if you are coeliac/gf be careful. The waitress did mention this to us thankfully. <br/><br/>Food did take a while but the beautiful presentation and great flavours made the wait more than worth it. <br/><br/>Great service, waters were refilled all the time etc. <br/><br/>Only negatives would be that there is only one bill per table or must be split evenly which made it hard since we weren't ordering to share. <br/><br/>Would love to come for breakfast next time as their noon menu is mainly plates/bites to share so there were no "mains" as in usual cafes, but would highly recommend. The chocolate crepe was amazing, one of my favourite dishes I've ever had!
Michele
We sat outside and it was really nice & breezy. Great that they have someone stationed outside so you don't have to wait a million years for service. We ordered the puy lentils, crayfish tortellini & the fruit salad. The lentils were delicious, can't rave about them enough. Loved that they were served in the crepe. BF demolished the tortellini in about 3 minutes & said it was excellent. Fruit salad was lovely & fresh. If this was closer to home/work I would be here all the time.

What a gem! Located in the middle of the city works depot, Odette is a must try for lunch or dinner!<br/><br/>The restaurant has great ambiance and is perfect for a date night or group catchup. The decor is really well done with subtle feature colours, textures and decorative ornaments. The service was really good. The staff were friendly, polite and attentive. It's so easy to just hang out and relax here.<br/><br/>We ordered between the two of us -Courgette blossom, Crayfish tortellini, Wild mushroom and also for dessert the Peanut butter parfait. The tortellini was rich and creamy with a decent amount of pasta/crayfish. The mushrooms were delicious - I was unsure what the donuts would be like but they were a nice savoury feature to the dish. The Peanut butter parfait was well balance, smooth and creamy.<br/><br/>Three dishes and dessert was plenty for the two of us, and worked out to be quite reasonable at $32.50 each. All the dishes we tried were very well done and satisfying. The menu has a big variety of fresh and creative options to suit all (plenty of vegetarian too). Had a great experience here so will definitely be back!

The food is fantastic. Delicious and beautifully served. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommended for any occasion. Our favorite place in CBD.

Had a lovely time at Odettes this morning. The setting is great, like a little oasis in the city. Heaps of outdoor seating which is great in summer and its in shade. The menu is extensive with familiar and unfamiliar options. I had the mushrooms with the poached egg - it was delicious.<br/><br/>The mushroom medley was well balanced, the feta whip was just divine. Makes my mouth water thinking of it again. My husband had the Odettes Complete breakfast. It's was well cooked and the bacon was perfectly crispy (a must with bacon) <br/><br/>The coffee was well done and so was the energiser smoothy. <br/><br/>The staff were very friendly. There was a bit of a wait but the place was packed, with us normal people and celebs. Definitely going again :-)

A asked for recommendations on cool places to eat in Auckland CBD near her accommodation for the weekend, and I knew exactly where I'd point her to. . All the more because I'd also wanted to try Odettes for some time, every time I'd drive past City Works Depot. . Be sure to turn up early lest you risk being in a long queue to get inside. Inside you will find light wooden furniture and painted walls and big photos and display cabinets with not only food but art displays, as if you were in someone's huge modern retro (Nordic chic?!) living/dining room. It's stylish to match the equally stylish menu.

After reading such great reviews finally paid a visit<br/>With the option of beautiful indoor or outdoor seating we were greeted straight away<br/>Their menus are tucked on their plates and we didn't realise it was the menu at first 😂<br/>Not a wide selection of foods but all sounded delicious<br/>We ordered the omelette. The mackarel on top was a suprise. Omelette was nice and fluffy but the fish was a bit too salty. Overall it was good and unique<br/>We also had their famous wild mushrooms. The doughnuts inside were not sweet but savoury. The feta went beautifully together. There were also a variety of mushrooms in it. A delicious dish<br/>We also shared a small avocado hummus which they are famous of. Never tasted anything like it before<br/>Can't wait to come back to try more of their menu<br/>One thing though is that the hot Americano came in a glass cup with no handle. Also was disappointing we had to pay for the parking when we are dining there. Other than that, what a fabulous place for lunch +

I wanted to try Odette's for a while as I heard the menu changes regularly, the food is different and the staff are attentive. My conclusion, it is the best brunch in Auckland.<br/>I ordered the herb scramble with rye bread, beetroot and asparagus. I was so happy to see a menu which focuses on food you can't cook at home. My friend had the avocado hummus dish. I will absolutely visit again. It reminds me of brunch places in Los Angeles. Fresh and interesting!<br/>Can't wait to work myself through the menu.

Well presented small dishes, they're mostly for sharing. We ordered three dishes, one from the garden, a bite size octopus chorizo dish and the chocolate crepes. The crepes were so delicious and definitely the highlight!

Came here for lunch, outside area is pretty and relaxing. Mum and I both shared the yellow fin tuna tartare and the crayfish ravioli. The tuna was my fav as the ravioli was a bit too creamy.

Found this restaurant through Zomato. Awesome food with great service. Highly recommended to come and dine here. We had Odettes Complete. Yummy yummy..

Had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at Odettes on Wednesday night! Went out with my parents and were seated immediately in a comfortable couch corner table in this very chic establishment. Decor is modern, yet homely with an open plan design. Wait staff were just incredible, and we had the loveliest waiter who knew the menu inside-out and was very catering and entertaining. <br/><br/>The menu is made to share, which is a lot of fun. But the portion sizes are a little variable, so you really have to ask how big and how many people each dish is/can serve. We ordered the avocado hummus, silverbeat firecracker and duck parfait for entree and then the puy lentil, crayfish tortellini and honey chicken breast for main. For dessert we had the peanut butter parfait. I would highly recommend the crayfish tortellini... So creamy and delicious with a spicy coconut sauce, I would get extra bread and dig in! Our total bill was under $150, which we thought was entirely reasonable for the amount of food we ordered. <br/><br/>Overall, a fantastic restaurant! From the decor, to the waiters, to the food.. Everything is of the highest quality!! Definitely a must-try.

We had a table situated beautifully in their outdoors area on a lovely Sunday afternoon. <br/><br/>I ordered the energizer juice and the summer sprouts dish for brunch. Both were perfect and light. My friend had the dish with the mushrooms and a coffee, which she enjoyed as well. The other person with us didn't have as much luck though as he was on a gluten free, onion and garlic free diet, so basically after checking with the waiter, he wasn't able to order anything except a drink.<br/><br/>Overall, great service, great food, beautiful setting and very funky lights indoors!

Having heard the hype about this place, I decided to take my mum here for an afternoon feed on a Saturday. We arrived a bit after 3, so the brunch/lunch crowd had mostly dissipated. We sat outside and loved their set up - tables were sheltered by a canopy with beautiful potted shrubbery and plants, giving a relaxed vibe. The interior of the eatery was minimal, clean and spacious. Their cutlery and drinking glasses were also super adorable!<br/>From 3-5pm, Odettes has a small bites menu, which mainly consist of sharing plates. We ordered the handcut fries with mayo ($10), wild mushrooms with donuts and whipped feta ($19) and filo pastry rolls filled with silverbeet and kidney beans ($7). I also ordered a handmade apple, basil and cucumber soda ($10). <br/><br/>The fries were generous and chunky and the rolls perfectly flaky and flavoursome. The standout dish was the wild mushrooms - the textures of the donut, tart feta and combination of snow fungi, enoki and button mushrooms worked well together and was very filling and rich. The soda was refreshing, although a bit pricey. The food took a while to arrive, but we didn't mind too much. Overall a very pleasant dining experience with impeccable service from very attentive and friendly waitstaff - I can't wait to go back and try their full menu!

Best dinner I have had in a long time. So tasty and the service was also outstanding. I am going to recommend this place to everyone. So many flavours and not one dish was disappointing

Great coffee, excellent service and a relaxed feel! Worth the price and great for a change to the brunch/lunch menus we see so often! Wild Mushrooms with whipped feta was like food crack, avocado hummus was Devine... Seems the fries were very popular with other tables which would have been a great idea to ensure all the dish/sauce is enjoyed<br/>Juices were also very popular and tasty, they have a winning combo!

Good Heavens ... this place is superb! We kept looking at the menu to confirm the ingredients in each dish! The flavours are just so unique & every plate was a wonder. Our table had the tuna, the lamb, the chicken, octopus, asparagus, courgettes, mushrooms & more. None disappointed us & we seriously couldn't even pick a favourite ... every plate was delicious!<br/>The staff are spot on & helpful. The decor is brilliant. The bench seats are soooo comfortable. You really must visit this glorious restaurant!

Went to odettes on a friend's recommendation. Loved the ambience and decor. A lovely place to meet up with friends. The pork dumplings are to die for. The crayfish ravioli was to be in a saffron sauce but ours tasted of lemongrass- a bit dampening.

Went to Sunday Brunch while staying in Auckland. Had the Odette's Complete, Avocado Hummus, Homestyle Fries and a flat white. The food and coffee were superb, but the service was lacking. As in 20 minutes after seating receiving the waiter's attention for drinks. Don't come if you're in a hurry.
Gabriel Long
This place is outstanding! They cook using wood fire which works magic on the ingredients, the menu has good variation, but every single item is winner. Best chips in town too. Love the ambiance of the place and the staff are great - fun, casual and attentive. moderately priced & definitely value for money.

Been for breakfast today<br/>Fabulous meal with no complaints at all<br/>Have been there before on a weekend and sat at the bar for brunch<br/>Much more laidback today as a weekday. Had the mushrooms and Odette breakfast<br/>Delicious whipped feta with gorgeous eggs on the breakfast<br/>The mushrooms were divine <br/>A must visit again

Highly recommended.<br/><br/>Odettes shouldn't be judged by its surroundings. Although its neighbour is best ugly bagels, Odettes is simply beautiful. In pale blue with dark wooden tables and pale pine wall, tasteful modern amber lighting, tiles and large blue-green glazed ceramics - it feels classy, an oasis of taste.<br/>Our breakfast was unexpected - I didn't imagine that the mushrooms and doughnuts would be quite so refined - deep rich forrest-floor fungal flavours, contrasted against the otherwise plain fried dough.<br/>Summer sprouts - crushed pea with salted ricotta and smoked red cabbage and salmon was excellent, sharp, salty, textured - the antithesis of the mushrooms.. It felt healthy, breakfasty - but my preference was for the more rounded fungi.<br/>The service was relaxed / impeccable. Only quibble was the large photograph on the back wall - a tropical paradise with wealthy ?americans bathing while a black servant carries a tray. I'm not politically correct as a general rule but there was something disturbing about the image - it was beautiful and graphically in keeping - but it was also symbolic of wealth and racial inequality - Odettes didn't need that.<br/><br/>This is a lovely restaurant - highly recommended.

Went to Odettes Eatery for the first time after hearing really good things about it. All three of us decided to try their crepes, two of us trying the chocolate crepe while the other Puy Lentils savoury crepe. <br/><br/>I really the chocolate crepe. I didn't feel like it was overly sweet, and it didn't make me feel sick after. I decided to try mine without the plum ice cream option, I think if you were to get it it would probably become a bit much! <br/><br/>Service was a bit slow which was surprising because it was so quiet. But overall I thought the food was very good and will definitely be returning!

Odettes was a lovely place to come for a meal, I thoroughly enjoyed my chocolate crepe however if I were to order it again I would opt for no ice cream as it was quite sweet and almost tasted like medicine on first bite. However the rest of the meal was amazing, and super filling, worth the price in my opinion. My friend got the lentils which she really enjoyed. The staff were super friendly and the place was decorated nicely, I liked the comfortable seats in particular. There were so many other dishes on the menu I want to try so I will for sure be returning!
Lucy Wills
Amazing food and interiors, such different menu items that are very creative. The seating didn't feel at all squashed together and it was a lovely atmosphere to be in. I didn't feel rushed at all. Will definitely be returning!!

Odettes Eatery is rated highly for a reason! The food this place puts out is simply amazing. Each dish has some serious finesse and the flavors are plentiful while all skillfully working together.<br/><br/>Highly recommend the mushroom doughnut sharing plate, sounds odd but ... well just try it!<br/><br/>Yum!

I've been here twice now and the food is simply outstanding! Original ideas, and richly flavoured. The crayfish dumplings are fantastic - highly recommended.

We had a late brunch here this morning and were able to get a table easily. The staff were great, our coffees were ordered and delivered within minutes and were very good. We both had a mushroom dish with donuts - I couldn't resist having donuts at breakfast. They weren't sweet but just added something to the dish. There was heaps of different types of mushrooms, it was a good serving size and the bacon I ordered on the side was perfectly crispy. Overall it was delicious. Next time I'll be ordering a Bellini too! Yum!

GREAT FOOD WAS MADE ECEN GREATER AFTER A RWC WIN! delicious food, fantastic service and very aesthetically pleasing set up 😍😍😍 love love love can't wait to go back @

I adore Odette's, having been there for breakfast, lunch, dinner, casual wines, and everything in between. The service is incredible, the decor is warm and inviting, and the food is 11/10. It works particularly well with large groups - the plates are perfect for sharing and you really need to try as much food as you possibly can. I highly recommend this beautiful oasis in the middle of the industrial district that is City Works!

Judging by the crowd on Saturday (and every other time I've walked past it), Odettes is an Auckland favourite and I've finally been able to taste why. <br/><br/>I wanted to eat the whole menu but the budget and stomach kept me in line. I started with a hot chocolate which was divine and just how I like it- really hot and rightly chocolately! Moving onto the food, I hadn't come across crayfish dumplings on a menu before and I couldn't get past it- so that's what I ordered! The dumplings were smooth and the filling was rich, gently swimming in a thick, chowder-like soup. Dumplings quickly devoured, it would have been nice to have a slice of ciabatta to mop up the rest of the soup. I also managed to taste the poached eggs and avocado with feta- eaten all together it was fresh and flavoursome. <br/><br/>The eatery has a very distinct, trendy yet classic, vibrant yet relaxed personality that shows in the decor, service and food. It's an experience, which many restaurants are aiming for these days that Odettes has got sorted. <br/>

The things about odettes that i love are <br/>the interior design, <br/>the healthy and creative menu selections, <br/>probably my favourite cocktail list and <br/>the unisex bathroom. <br/>Cant wait to go back!

Went to Odettes last weekend and it was great! We ordered odettes complete, bowl of chips, and hot mocha. The odettes complete was really good, the poached eggs were well-cooked, texture of the bacon was also nice (crunchy), the seeded sourdough was a lil bit hard tho. The hot mocha is surely something to-die-for! Omg... You can smell the coffee and chocolate at the same time, taste was just right! Not too sweet or bitter. The ambience of Odettes is also very comfy, nice interior, and spacious but it was quite busy during brunch time.
Rona Dalgleish
Perfect little place for meetings, brunch dates and catch ups with friends. Lovely chatty staff with a great knowledge of the menu (this was ideal as I didn't have a clue what half the ingredients were)<br/>It is a little pricey for breakfast food but once your food arrives you'll appreciate the hard work put into each and every dish. Perfect place for a good feed but still on the healthy side ☺️ I had Mushrooms with whipped feta, savoury donuts and a poached egg.
Andrew Bowring
I had a great night at Odettes. The food was beautiful and the servings were ample. We asked the waiter to order for us which was great and took the stress out of ordering the right dishes. We had the pork belly dumplings and the zucchini flowers to start. But It was the lamb shoulder for main that blew me away. It was succulent, tender and I will keep me coming back again and again.
Jasmine
Went here for the first time in the weekend! I had the octopus and chorizo (fantastic) and one friend had the avo hummus (not a lot special here) and the other had the mushrooms with donuts (very interesting - and apparently yum). The coffee was great and the environment is beautiful and lovely to be in. The portions are quite small - I was still hungry afterwards (perhaps going for the fine dining portion size but it seems less applicable to breakfast/lunch when you actually want to feel satisfied). The staff all had personality and were friendly and attentive. I will be back again but perhaps I'll have something small to eat beforehand

Really nice atmosphere . Quick service and food was quick to come , coffee was good not the best I have every had. All the meals were on the smaller size. I had the mushroom with out an egg as the egg charge was $5 I think ( bit extreme) . It was really nice very rich towards the end . One friend got the octopus and said it was nice . Other friend got the humous dish and it look quit average , she said it was quiet average also . Nothing special about it . Keen to try other thing on the menu next time .

Perfect food, coffee and location! Odettes is quite busy usually so you might end up waiting for a table, but it's honestly worth it! I've tried most things from the menu and it all tasted so good. The staff are amazing, always happy and bubbly.

I've visited Odettes twice in recent weeks, once for breakfast and once for dinner.<br/><br/>The location and feel of the restaurant is great, the service attentive but not pushy and the food is very tasty.<br/><br/>Breakfast was perfect and would get full marks from me.<br/><br/>Dinner was nice but we left hungry. Our waiter recommended that 5 sharing plates between 4 would be plenty. However, the amount of food was just too little. We could have easily eaten twice as much but the bill was the same as great places we've eaten where we left fully satisfied.
Amy @ My Dining Journey
Odettes Eatery situated in City Works Depot has been on my dining wish list for a while now. After being turned away for dinner twice because they were full, I decided to try my luck for an early weekend brunch with my sisters. We were delightfully surprised that we were offered a table straightaway. The permanent resident to what used to be a temporary pop up store, Odettes has been open since 2014 and has been a much raved about addition to the Auckland CBD dining scene.

Cool spot and awesome service. Had the crayfish dumplings and it was delicate but would've loved some more seasoning or a slight kick to add more layers to the dish. Good place to visit with friends.

the first time i came here was in April 2015:<br/><br/>I had heard a lot about Odettes through this healthy foodie I follow on Instagram she posted one of her meals here, and I wanted to get exactly that! <br/><br/>My mum and I came here for breakfast one day. We were seated outside, and it was such a beautiful day! When we were given our menus, I was trying to search for the breakfast that I wanted. I couldn’t find the exact meal, but I found parts of it. It was spinach scrambled eggs with Persian feta, eggplant rouille, bacon on grilled ciabatta. But I changed it to suit me ☺ I didn’t have the bacon with my meal, but instead my mum had it as a side for her meal. I had smoked salmon on the side instead, and I also asked for sourdough bread instead of the ciabatta. My mum got the organic eggs: two poached eggs on seeded toast, to have with the bacon. She also got the Tahitian crepes, because she really wanted to try them! Our waitress was very kind, and had no problems with our orders. Mum and I were a bit embarrassed about all the changes we made, and how much we got hahaha!<br/><br/>It wasn’t long until we got our meals. The presentation was excellent!! My meal was delicious! I loved the eggplant rouille on the bottom. The scrambled eggs were divine too. the big feta chunks were a bit salty, but other than that, it was delicious. The side of salmon worked so well with this meal! Eggs and salmon is one of my favourite combos! <br/>I also tried a bit of the crepes! They were so light and soft! It looked like a silk blanket! Underneath it all was greek yoghurt, blueberry compote and mandarin sugar. the crepes were eggy, which is how my mum likes them, but not so much me. it was sweet and tangy from the yoghurt! <br/><br/>Overall my breakfast here was excellent! Great service, delicious food, and even better presentation!<br/><br/>The second time I came here was in August 2015:<br/><br/>The hardest thing about this place is that they don’t take bookings. My friend and I came here for my birthday lunch, and we were lucky enough to get a seat straight away! We decided to share two meals between us because we couldn’t decide on what we wanted! It’s a good thing we have the same taste, because we were trying to choose between the same two meals! <br/><br/>We got the wild mushroom, whipped Persian feta, donuts and basil. We thought it was weird to have donuts in a savoury dish. When it arrived, we were so excited! We immediately tried the donuts first! They weren’t what we were expecting, not sweet at all! They didn’t really taste like anything, but they had quite a chewy and dense texture. The whipped feta was a bit sickly, but the mushrooms were so creamy and delicious!!<br/><br/>The other dish we got was the crayfish dumplings. These were AMAZING!!! The dumplings were so tender, and the creamy sauce they were served in was delicious!! Buttery and indulgent! It came with spinach and tomatoes, topped with nuts. We both agreed this was our favourite!! Best dish we’ve eaten!!<br/><br/>Overall I love Odettes! They have great service, delicious food and excellent presentation!! The only thing is that they don't take bookings, so you have to get in fast, or when they're not busy! So far I’ve been here for breakfast and lunch. Next up is dinner! Cant wait!

The yellow fun tuna is an amazing dish! This place is a good location for a nice cafe like Odettes, it's immaculate and very well managed! Highly recommended

Odette's is another cafe win in Central Auckland. Went here on a Saturday morning with a girlfriend and the place was bustling with gym bunnies getting their morning coffee after their Les Mills workout. We got a table outside and sat in the sun after our meal. A great way to sunbathe while sipping on iced tea! <br/><br/>The food - delicious, fresh, healthy. The coffee was really good as well. My friend had the Odette's complete which she thought was great and I had spinach omelette with feta cheese and bacon - delish! <br/><br/>Service was a little slow, had to wave down the staff a couple of times but overall really good. The decor is modern, lively atmosphere and if you can't get a table, you can always just get some Ugly Bagels next door ;)

Since opening Odettes has swiftly become one of our favourite brunch spots. Although there is usually a wait on the weekends if you don't book it's completely worth it! Between myself and my friends we have tried almost every dish on the menu and my favourite has to be the Spinach Scramble; simple, incredibly tasty and spot on every time. <br/><br/>I took a rather challenging friend of mine (challenging but wonderful!) the other day for dinner. He has worked in hospitality for over 30 years, usually quite the tough one to impress and always quick to critique and I was able to walk away triumphant with my endorsement of Odettes. If you knew him you'd know this is a pretty big deal...! <br/>We had a few small plates to start, the Olive Pickle with Lavosh was great to pick at while we looked over the menu, followed by the Wild Mushroom, Whipped Persian Feta, Donuts, Basil  along with the Crayfish Dumplings Yoghurt Curd, Spiced Cashew, Green Chili. Both were delicious! <br/><br/>The atmosphere is always vibrant, the venue always immaculately clean and the service is impeccable. Particular shout outs to Tom and Shia who always have a spare moment to give recommendations or hilarious anecdote to tell! <br/><br/>Too keen to tuck in to take photos so I stole this one from their Instagram #regram #sorrynotsorry

Went here for breakfast with the kids. Light open and fresh. The service is fantastic. Really friendly and relaxed. Coffee excellent. Ordered the "complete" - eggs (poached perfectly) bacon avocado toast tomato and whipped feta. Light but filing and so delicious - have new found love for whipped feta <br/>My wife had the smashed avocado which was a hit as were the kids crepes and poached eggs with bacon. <br/><br/>Another coffee and it was off to embrace the day but will certainly be back

Have now visited Odettes a couple of times and overall it's a lovely place. With Auckland still in the grip of winter, the melting slow cooked meats and rich seafood definitely hit the mark. The service while definitely hip has been a little hit and miss especially when the restaurant gets a little busy. Plate sizing is also a little confusing as with many sharing style establishments and the gigantic desserts seem little out of proportion to everything else. Overall a solid place in a nice setting, just not setting the world on fire.

Second visit of the week. Work lunch this time. Same great food. The crayfish dumplings are Devine. The biggest surprise today was the awesome coffee. Coffee so nice I got it twice 😁. The mushrooms are beautifully done. The desert of poached fruits was fantastic. I expected it to be tart but wanted to try something other than cream Brulee as most of the tabled ordered that. Fruits done nicely the marangue was just the right sweetness. We had the pork belly too which was my least favorite of all the dishes. A little too much spice on it,overpowered the pork flavour. The warm greens were gorgeous and fresh. Highly recommended. Gonna go back for breaky soon to try the smashed avocado. Heard rave reviews from fellow munchers. Extremely friendly and pleasant staff. Good wine selected but that's exp2tected. The place was chokka but the noise level wasn't crazy like other busy spots in town so that's great.

Went here on a rainy weekend and the place was packed, with only room at the bar. The staff were great and very helpful and eating at the bar made for good entertainment. My meal of merquez sausage was really good, packed with flavour and something you won't find on any other brunch menu. Despite the amount of people our orders arrived pretty quickly and in the meantime we had the cakes and counter goodies to drool over. Oh and the coffee was definitely worth a second cup.

Great brunch spot! Clean, modern decor, great atmosphere with friendly staff. I had the Odettes Complete - the poached eggs were done perfectly, the avocado and tomato were fresh and tasty and the feta complimented the whole dish very well. Very nicely done coffee too! Highly recommended!

My new favourite brunch spot in Auckland! I had heard that Odettes was popular so we decided to meet at 9.30am but even then it was an hour wait! We opted to eat outside as it wasn't too cold and they did have heaters but luckily for us a small table opened up. There were a couple of large groups (10+) so I've filed it away as a good place for large brunch groups. The brunch menu was different and exciting and I was torn between a few dishes. I finally decided on the Merguez Sausage (Eggplant Chutney, Harissa, Spiced Crepe, Poached Egg) and my dining companions the Heirloom Tomato ( Il Casaro Burrata, Israeli Couscous, Saffron & Rose Vinaigrette), Spinach Scrambled Eggs ( Persian Feta, Eggplant Rouille, Bacon on Grilled Ciabatta) and Wild Mushrooms (Whipped Persian Feta, Donuts, Basil). I was extremely happy with my choice and yet at the same time envious of the wild mushrooms. The merguez sausage was a big crepe folded over into a stack with a delicious, spicy sausage inside, eggplant chutney and a poached egg on top and spicy tomato sauce on the side. The dish was so full of flavour and not like anything else I had before for brunch. The wild mushroms were a range of fried mushrooms served with savoury donuts (ya-huh!) and the most amazing whipped persian feta. I didn't try the spinach scrambled eggs but it got good feedback. The heirloom tomatoes was the only dish that didn't recieve rave reviews from the table. Maybe because it was a cold summery dish ordered on a cold wintry day it just didn't go down as well. The saffron and rose vinaigrette was very acidic and overpowered all of the other flavours in the dish. I'm already fighting an internal dilemma about what to order next time the Foul Medammes and the Pork Hock Rillettes both sound amazing too.

Came here for a lunch meeting for work on a weekday. The interiors of this place are absolutely stunning, and I love their cozy couch style booths. We ordered an assortment of meals from their lunch menu to share, and I also got a tea from Storm & India. The food was on the pricey side, I probably wouldn't usually come here myself, but it was very well done and tasted amazing. The whole atmosphere and vibe of the place is very uptown and polished, and it was a great place for chatting and discussing during our meeting. Would recommend if you can afford it !

My new favourite amongst the hundreds of cafes & restaurants in Auckland! Consistently delicious food (shared plates & individual meals), relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Love the interior fitout too. This is where you go to have a long leisurely meal and don't want to leave (I've been three times in the past 6 weeks!). Well done, Odette's

We went to this place for dinner but unfortunately we could not even have it. We sat on the table with sofas, right on the back and had couple glasses of wine which were pretty good. The service initially was quite good but then we were left alone on the table for almost 20 minutes without having anyone to place an order. Therefore, we had no alternative other then leave to another place.
A Culinary Affair
The back story: A relatively new arrival to the Auckland bistro scene, Odettes is an all-day dining bistro-style eatery, with an elegantly furnished open room adjoining the bar and kitchen. It first came to my attention when it made the Metro Top 50 restaurant list as one of the up and coming restaurants dining places in the heart of Auckland City.<br/><br/><br/>Setting: Located in the heart of the City Works Depot, Odettes Eatery is an interesting place. Swanky with a slight air of elitism, the customers who frequent the place are on a first-name and hugging basis with the Maitre D', rubbing shoulders with some of the more well known socialites in their respective communities. No wonder everything here has been planned to the last detail - from carefully chosen cutlery to the designer glass globe lighting by Nat Cheshire that hangs from the ceiling to the showcase of crockery by Robert Gordon in glass cabinet displays - nothing here has happened by accident. The front-facing Maitre D' reflects the culture of the eatery - haughty and sharp, with a sprinkling of narcissism to keep you on your toes. You'll need an appetite for upmarket high-end personalities here, as well as the brilliant food.<br/><br/>As with most high-end eateries these days, there are no reservations for small groups below 6 people. However - unlike other eateries - we were not given an option to come back or be called when our table was free. We were simply requested to make our way to the bar to wait - an estimated "30 minute wait" which I thought wasn't bad for a Friday night - and immediately ushered to the bar. Odettes certainly doesn't waste time with business. Drink orders were taken, followed with a push for more drinks - and when we declined after a couple - we were politely asked to think over the drinks menu once more in case as they didn't want us "getting dehydrated". I didn't bother to inform that pure water is actually the best hydrator. After over an hour wait at the bar, we were finally seated after a checking in with wait staff 3 times on our table.<br/><br/>Food: Josh Kucharick is the chef behind Odette's culinary creations, and a key reason behind the eatery's success. Ingredients are fresh and well plated, reasonably priced from mid-tens for smaller dishes to mid-twenties to mid-thirties for larger plates. A key favourite was the wild mushrooms with whipped Persian feta and crunchy donuts to break up the texture - this is definitely the recommended plate to try. The hand cut fries are impressively massive too - with each fry at least 15cm long and piled high on a plate - it satisfies the eye as much as the tastebuds. The other personal favourite on the larger plates selection was the BBQ pork belly - ingeniously done by as strips rather than a whole roasted pork, each piece was infused with flavour and crunch - a unique experience not seen elsewhere in Auckland.<br/><br/>Occasion: Small to moderate sized groups - the rather cosy eatery makes it difficult to accommodate for very large groups. All-day bistro-style dining but be prepared for over an hour's wait during busy times especially as estimates of wait times can be poorly off-the-mark.<br/><br/>Revisit potential: 2/10 - A place to try for brilliant food, but unfortunately undercut by the elitist culture. Unless you have an appetite for the same.

Went there for brunch. Was super busy, which is a good sign. Food was good, tasty. The only issue it was a little over priced for what it was and the tables were super close to one another.

Best dining experience here this morning. Everything was perfect! The girls said the coffees were fantastic and so was the smoothie. I had the spinach scramble with the freedom loaf and it was exquisite! Only good comments from our table about all the food and the service was fabulous! You will not be disappointed dining at Odettes!

Love love love the setup and atmosphere. A bit on the expensive side for a poor student (Yolo). The dishes were beautifully displayed and tasted deliciously subtle without much overpowering flavours. Not enough bread given though!

My sister Huli and I finally decided to come for lunch after weeks of putting it off. The place is beautifully decorated, the waiters were amazing, we especially like the waiter with the curled moustache (so sorry didn't get your name). He was pleasant and knew what he was talking about, when he recommended the dishes to us. The food was amazing, full of flavour and just satisfying. Good job.
Huli
Great first experience. The waiter was very attentive and honest in helping us pick good dishes. Had the Crayfish dumplings, fries, wild mushroom, and pumpkin spice cream brûlée to share.
Miss2thfairy
Wonderful food and atmosphere. On the pricier side. I wish people dressed to impress here as it is a classy vibe. Brunch was fantastic however did take awhile to arrive. So don't expect a quick meal. Lovely to catchup with friends or enjoy time with a loved one
Christine
A very pleasant experience. I had Tahitian crepes which were really tasty and surprisingly not at all sweet. All the flavours of lemon yoghurt and strawberry worked well together. Husband got the savoury crepe with very flavoursome sausage and delicious eggplant purée. Flavours also all worked together well and I would highly recommend this option if you don't mind a bit of spice for breakfast. Coffee was good enough to have two of.

All in all a solid dining experience, however I do get the feeling this place will just be just another fad eatery in a matter of time. <br/><br/>I had the soft shell crab slider that was pretty small for $9.. But that's beside the point. It was tasty, but nothing write home about. We also shared some AMAZING hand cut chips with aioli (which could have done with a bit more garlic and seasoning). <br/><br/>The tuna was the stand out dish, with my dining partner raving about it! <br/><br/>The deserts were beautiful! I had the poached fruits with Italian merengue, crumble and rose and ginger granita (which could have been have the size!) and my dining partner had the chocolate crepe. The crepe was somewhat.. Dry? If that's even possible for a crepe. However the bitterness of the chocolate balanced well with the other elements of the dish. <br/><br/>Service was mediocre at best, however my dining partner has been here previously and said the service she got was so amazing she tipped the wonderful waitress.

Firstly I have to say thank you Zomato! What a fantastic App! You have helped me find another favourite dining experience without fail. Our team was looking for a special venue to celebrate a great monthly sales achievement and Odettes Eatery was the chosen venue. Our party of 8 arrived for a lunch with high expectations and from being seated we all were very impressed by the beautiful layout of this eatery. The lighting and colour palate creates a level of comfort and ease you would expect from a smaller more intimate space. Our waiter was exceptional in his delivery of greeting/welcome and in advising us on the best way to navigate a somewhat confusing menu in terms of what is provided as a share experience; portion size & unknown ingredients.<br/><br/>Our choices were soft shell crab sliders, Hand Cut Fries, Wild Mushroom, BBQ Pork Belly, Pork Rillettes, Market Fish Special – Tuna, Snapper and Scampi, Lamb Shoulder, Crème Brule and Chocolate crepe with Plum Ice Cream.<br/><br/>Highlights – All dishes were presented beautifully creating a lasting impression. For me the star dish was the Wild Mushroom, multiple types of mushrooms matched perfectly with the whipped feta. The Lamb was truly awesome and surprisingly the fries were great although not sure about them floating on a pool of mayonnaise. Plum ice cream was bordering on sublime.<br/><br/>Drinks menu is outstanding!<br/><br/>You are going to be up for a reasonably large bill after visiting this eatery especially if you wish to fully explore the menu, you get what you pay for and that is 5 stars! Looking forward to revisit, next time let’s do dinner!<br/><br/>

I love this place and would have to say it's my favourite at the moment. The food is amazing, staff are friendly and I love the decor. I have been quite a few times and every meal has been divine 💛💛💛

This place is packed at brunch/lunch time! It's actually a really big cafe located in the Wellesley hub (where there's best ugly bagels? Food truck etc. So if you feeling particularly hungry, this is the place to go!) Love the spacious eating area as well as the decorations and lights. The tables are wooden and gives you a picnic kind of feeling. Their brunch menu all looked very tempting but I do find them a bit monotonous-poached eggs in half of the options. My favourite so far has got to be their sausages and crepes which had a nice balance of sweetness, sourness and flavours of sausages!

Had been wanting to go to Odettes for quite some time and was quite excited when we finally went! I had the crepes - I highly recommend them - they do not hold back on the quantity! <br/><br/>We ordered our drinks as soon as we sat down, but unfortunately, they forgot about them and they ended up arriving after we had eaten half our meal. Quite disappointing, but an easy oversight given how busy the restaurant was. <br/><br/>I spotted some amazing cupcakes and had to grab one to takeaway - it was so delicious! Strawberry! Yum!

Odettes is your typical beautifully designed eatery, with amazing food and great service. Good choice area wise as there's always a lot of parking at City Works, which is something that's hard to find in Auckland. The menu is to die for and I have never been disappointed with what I've ordered. Planning on visiting again soon.

My friend and I came to Odette's for a midweek lunch after several recommendations. We were not disappointed!<br/><br/>Service was great. Despite the restaurant being full our service was prompt and friendly. Our waiter recommended we order a few different plates and share so that we could experience a mixture of food.<br/><br/>We ordered the fries, crayfish dumplings, silverbeet gnughi and the zatar crepe. For me the standout was the gnughi. The richness of the gnughi and butternut was beautiful, and the crunch of the walnut dressing offset this so nicely. I also enjoyed the crayfish dumplings with the crayfish absolutely shining through the sauce. The zatar crepe was a great way to end the meal, as it was a mixture of savoury and sweet - labneh and pistachio along with mango, I think this easily could have been in the dessert menu.<br/><br/>I would have no hesitation in returning to Odettes, the food was just amazing with a variety of flavours which all seemed to work so well. Add attentive service and a really pleasant space and they've definitely cracked it! I am not one to throw 5s out to just anyone but this one is deserved - really special.

Came here for lunch but preferred the breakfast menu so came back the very next morning. I got the spinach scramble which turned out to be absolutely delicious! I also got the hot chocolate as well which also exceeded expectations :) my friends got the avocado smash and said that it was too salty, especially the spinach but great service and lovely location. Eager to come back again to try the crepes!

We had a delicious shared lunch for two here today.<br/><br/>The wild mushroom with whipped persian feta was so scrumptious, I was tempted to have the whole thing to myself.  And if I thought it couldn't get any better, I was certainly wrong.  The crayfish dumplings were so divine, that next time I come, I probably won't share those either :-)<br/><br/>Great service, lovely decor and I'm looking forward to trying their dinner and breakfast options at some stage in the very near future.

I came here for lunch on a sunny Thursday with a two friends - it was very busy and pretty much all the tables were full but luckily they managed to get a nice corner table. Odettes has a lovely atmosphere about it you automatically feel relaxed and at ease when you enter. <br/><br/>My friends and I opted for all vegetarian dishes and chose a dish each to share between us (for anyone that knows me well, this is a pretty big deal as I'm very much a person that likes a bit of vege and meat). We ended up choosing the wild mushroom dish, heirloom tomato dish and the zatar crepe. <br/><br/>For someone that is not a huge mushroom fan, this dish was really good and I definitely think I'll consider mushroom dishes when I go out (as long as they are that good 😉 ). The mushroom dish had mushroom, whipped Persian feta, donuts and Thai basil. Yes it had donuts and it was divine! Everything in this dish gelled together well. I'm not a biggg fan of feta so opted for less when I was eating it. But overall this dish has restored my faith in mushrooms!<br/><br/>Next to arrive was the heirloom tomato dish with Israeli couscous, rose and saffron vinaigrette and dusted cucumber. This was also really delicious and I'm a big fan of Israeli couscous so it definitely was one I was happy to get. Everything was just so fresh and bright!<br/><br/>The last dish we had was the zatar crepe with crushed mango, labneh and pistachios and this was a great way to end the meal and it was a sweet treat. The crepe was cooked well and was thin but not too thin it broke, the crushed mango added a bit of zing to the dish and it complemented the labneh well. <br/><br/>Overall I had a great meal at Odettes and I'm definitely wanting to come again to try the other dishes they have to offer!<br/>

We went out in a group of four for dinner recently. The restaurant was packed but the hostess managed to get us a table earlier than predicted so we were off to a good start. The decor is modern, industrial with plenty of warm features and the service was very good. The food is middle eastern inspired fusion and highly enjoyable. It helps to go in a decent sized group because the dishes are made to share and you can cover more of the menu that way. Everything was delicious but standouts for me were the ocean selection, the lamb shoulder was beautiful and I enjoyed the crunchy fries with Mayo and the wild mushroom donuts. Great food, relaxed cheerful atmosphere, all boxes ticked

Had lunch here on Tuesday last week and was quite pleased overall, we were seated at a sunny little table by the front door. <br/><br/>The decor was calm yet sophisticated. The service was attentive yet slightly lacking after we opted to sit outside half way through, the dishes were small but tasty (which is great when sharing)<br/><br/>The interesting combination of mushrooms and doughnuts had me intrigued! And it went down a treat! The tuna carpaccio was fresh yet the deep fried onions didn't complement the fresh fish. The beef short rib was tender and cooked well, with grey tahini and the puffed barley which added a necessary texture to the dish. We only had 3 dishes as it was a light lunch, I would return to see what the dinner menu has to offer, further review to be added soon!

We decided to have brunch here at Odettes Eatery this week and was not expecting that big of a crowd. It was packed. Well, it was a sunny Sunday morning and I guess the food here is quite popular. We did get a table outside which was just great for the lovely weather. I love how they decorated the shed which gave a nice garden sort of feel. Great for family eat outs as well as friends.<br/>I had the Homemade Merguez Sausage and it was delicious. The crepe was soft and light while the sausage was meaty and full of flavour. They complemented each other very well and with some added spice and eggplant chutney, it was just what I wanted for my brunch. It was a great dish, overall. The poached egg on top was a nice touch too! Not too heavy but filling at the same time. Not to mention, what a healthy and hearty meal it was.<br/>I also got to try their blueberry muffin, which was nice. The base was not too sweet and the blueberry spread on top was a mixture of sweet and tangy flavor. I liked it,especially with a cup of mochaccino which I enjoyed!<br/>I will definitely come back to Odettes, it's got excellent food, nice ambiance and good service. #challenge Sarah Reynolds

So classy 💗 crayfish dumplings got top votes all round. The wild mushroom dish was yumtown. Snapper (delish), beef cheek (amazing) hand pulled mozzarella was good. Chocolate crepes with Doris plum ice cream (omg). The decor is so comfy and inviting it's got a relaxed NZ bach feel about it (I love the lamps and the giant 70s poolside print/painting). Only thing was unisex bathrooms, not super keen on that but it doesn't take anything away from the food or location. 100% would recommend and deffo going back!

Odettes Eatery is located in City Works Depot and is a must try for any foodie! It is a fantastic place for both brunch and dinner. The modern décor is beautiful and the place is warming and welcoming. There are plenty of seats and the place was packed when we visited for brunch on a Saturday morning.<br/><br/>Brunch: <br/>We arrived the place was buzzing and full of people. I had the Oddettes’ complete ($23) which was two poached eggs, whipped feta, heirloom tomatoes, avocado and salmon on sourdough. I also ordered a side of sauteed mushrooms ($6) The heirloom tomatoes and whipped feta were next level. The only disappointment was that the dish came with bacon and I couldn’t swap the bacon for salmon. I don’t eat pork so I had to pay an extra $7 for the salmon.<br/><br/>Dinner:<br/>We arrived for dinner at 7pm on a Thursday night and we were surprised that the dining room wasn’t full. We ordered the whole fish to share ($75) with a side of warm greens ($16). The fish was so delicious and actually the best fish dish I have ever had – it simply melted in my mouth. <br/><br/>I could not fault the food – it was all fresh and tasted incredible. The service is always friendly and I absolutely love the décor.<br/><br/>Highly recommended.

We came here for dinner.... WOW we shared 6 different course meals. It was great to be able to try different food selections and each one was very yummy. The flavours for each dish worked. A must try is the soft crab sliders and the firecracker (beef cheek). All very tasty ... You don't get big meals hence why we could try many dishes. The service is friendly but could be abit more attentive of when you are ready to order more etc. My only complaint would be having/using unisex toilets!

OE is a fantastic place to brunch @. It's spacious and beautifully furnished, the staff are friendly and attentive and there's a nice relaxed vibe going on. What w. diners who look as if they're ready to go off to the gym, have been for their morning walk or are in their Saturday best.<br/><br/>I dined w. 2 others and we ordered nice strong coffees, the Pork Hock Omelette, Spinach scrambled and the Mahy Farms Angus short rib and having tried a bit of everything, we surmised that each dish was delicious. I personally think my short ribs dish was the best though. <br/><br/>We had the sun streaming in and were seated @ a comfy little nook w. cushions to boot and the sparkling water added a nice touch instead of plain water on the tables. I look forward to returning w. a bigger group.

Great food, awesome service with great drinks to follow. The crayfish dumplings were amazing! Highly recommended for a good vibe & good some good food

Had a lovely lunch date with a friend after hearing many great reviews, and really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food!!!!! The only downside was the menu being extremely brief, the waitress was very helpful and answered all our questions but when the food was delivered it was still not at all what we were expecting! I ordered the tuna carpaccio with cabbage expecting a fresh healthy salad, but all the 'salad' was deep fried. Although it was delicious I was disappointed with the lack of details provided. Will eat here again!!!!

Went to odettes with my partner a few weeks ago just before the switch to the winter menu . This was a Saturday night and Odettes doesnt take bookings so we arrived at approx 6:20 but unfortunately there were no tables - however we were offer a bar seat which we didn't mind at all. <br/><br/>For dinner - We had some starters, a plate to share, a main each and dessert to share. Everything was exceptional. The soft shell crab slider which were a little bigger than other sliders I've had - very delicious. Zatar crepe to share - very delicious the crepe and mango went very well together. Had other dishes as well but highlight was definitely the steak with bursting tomatoes. The angus rib eye was cooked perfectly - very delicious with the rouille and the sweet heirloom tomatoes.

Sunday brunch at Odettes with the family. The kids had the crepes with strawberries compote and lemon curd yogurt, we had the Odettes complete (bacon, scrambled eggs, avocado and tomatoes) and crayfish dumplings. Our oldest daughter liked the crepes but it didn't work for the 7 year old [note to self - limited selection for younger generation]. The scrambled egg lacked seasoning but the crayfish dumplings were divine with the right amount of chilli and butter etc. The freshly squeezed orange juice was great but the Multipulciano by the glass was oxidised. The coffee was great but the service was average. Odettes was good but it could be great with a little more attention to detail.

Located where Shed 5 (a motorcycle themed cafe) and Mrs Pings (a ping pong themed Vietnamese eatery and bar) used to be, Odettes Eatery has quickly established itself as a must try dining experience for any foodie visiting or residing in Auckland. <br/><br/>The decor looks great. Though must say the oversized chair with the blue cushions I was seated on was definitely a designer's work of art, not an engineer's masterpiece (looks>comfort). Yes, I do take a lot of notice of chairs and comfort. <br/><br/>Anyway cutting to the chase, food ratings fresh off the brunch menu:<br/>Wild Capretto Sausage: 3/5<br/>Mahy Farms Angus Short Rib: 4/5<br/>Crayfish Dumplings: 5/5<br/>Foul Medammes: 4/5<br/>Tahitian Vanilla Crepes: 3/5<br/>Odettes Smoothie: 3/5<br/>Wellesley Smoothie: 4/5<br/>Energiser Juice: 3/5<br/>Latte: 4/5<br/>Overall experience: 4/5<br/><br/>Can see how Odettes earned its reputation. Would recommend to friends as a reliably good cafe.<br/>

We visited Odette's Eatery for my mother's birthday. It had a warm, stylish and pleasant atmosphere which made for a nice retreat from the cold blustery weather outside. The service right off the bat was excellent. Our waitress was bubbly, approachable and very attentive. Odette's lunch and dinner menus are identical, apparently - and so none of us were drawn to the heartier meals for lunch, such as the lamb shoulder. We decided upon ordering a few of the 'bites' as share plates. We ordered the crab sliders, the prawn brik, the beef cheek firecracker and hand cut chips - these plates all came out very quickly. All of these small plates had great flavours - and were nearly faultless besides the dilemma of whether to use a knife and fork or go ahead and pick 'em up. They seemed to be a little too large to pick up and eat, yet too small to dig into with cutlery. I attempted the latter with the prawn brik and managed to get batter everywhere. The crab sliders are more suitable for picking up, but were quite greasy and oozed oil when bitten into. <br/>We also ordered some tuna carpaccio, which was faultless. Finally we tried some desserts - my dad and I both settled for the banana crème brûlée. The brûlée itself was gorgeous and had a hint of banana without being overpowering. The crunch of the crust with the smoothness of the brûlée was just awesome. They also added caramel popcorn on top of the brûlée which I felt was a nice touch but unnecessary. A few of the kernels had hardened and others were stuck in my teeth - an unpleasant experience which detracted from the loveliness of the brûlée. <br/><br/>Overall, eating at Odette's was a great experience and we would be happy to visit again.

Have eaten here for a brunch (outside, everyone got something different, everyone all very happy) and a dinner too.The ambience is nice here - that European style of being open and buzzy atmosphere, yet not so noisy you cant have a good chat at your table.  nice lighting. The food is tasty, for sure, but there was a bit of a lack of  ingredients that could be seen as being 'genuinely fresh'.   this is not to suggest there is the use of anything out of date of fresh - rather that there is a slight dependence on sauces and mayos, and while this brings the dishes together it also means there's nothing distinctly fresh in there.perhaps as a case in point, we were unable to order any vegetables as there was none on the menu.  Most of our table had lamb shoulder.   Basically a roast.  but no vegetables available.   We had 'fries' but even then these were not fries but very chunky chips (which were nice,.... but wrong description). The service was a little too casual and off-beat for my liking.   I was called 'mate' throughout.  I am pretty casual sort of person so I took no particular offence to it, but this kind of casual and immediate 'familiarity' wouldn't be too everyones liking.  Cibo does casual too - but in a way which always has you feeling like you are the guest.   You need to build that sort of culture up carefully, if you are going to go down that route.Would I go back?   Probably not - I really enjoyed everything we had - which was a lot.  But I feel that I have 'done' the menu, and I'd be choosing somewhere else before heading back. But would I recommend it to anyone who has not eaten there?  Yes, check out a lot of those 'sharing plates' like we did - you'll love them.  Just put a head of broccoli or some spinach in a bag before you head there and see if the kitchen wouldn't mind doing something with it for you.  ;-)

Amazing food. Amazing service. We shared lots of dishes between 6 people and every dish was delicious. Will definitely be going there again. Highlight was the crepes for sure, for mains and dessert!

One word to describe this place.. EXCEPTIONAL. I took my mum here for lunch on Mother's Day. We did have to wait 10 mins for a table but it was well worth the wait. From the minute we walked in we were warmly greeted by very friendly, well-dressed (and rather handsome) staff. The set- up was very contemporary and modern and the lighting fixtures were very captivating. Even the crockery tied in with colour theme. The menu was amazing, making it very hard to decide what to order. My mother and I both ordered the goats curd dumplings which were creamy and light and very very tasty and my dad ordered the steak which was very well-cooked and equally delicious. We shared the fries which were crispy and accompanied by a very creamy aoli. I would highly rate everything I tasted. A great place to wine and dine. I will most definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

After ordering, the food arrived within twenty minutes, and we immediately dived into the beef cheek fritters. Served with spiced red pepper, walnut and charred leeks ($14), this was the highlight of the four dishes. Resembling little beignets, these fritters were filled with perfectly cooked beef cheek, and crisp on the outside. The red pepper puree was a nice addition to cut through some of the richness, and didn't have an overwhelming flavour of capsicum, and the leeks were a nice vegetable addition; as for the walnuts, they didn't give much to the dish, but I didn't mind them being there either. <br/><br/>Next were the spinach empanadas, with kidney bean, quark and dill ($12). I have cooked with quark before, in university we used it in a cheesecake recipe in replacement of cream cheese, but it is definitely not how I remember. To look at, it had a similar form to that of whipped egg whites, with the flavour being a slight reminder of sour cream and chive flavoured crackers as a child. Without the quark though, the dish overall would have been fairly bland. The empanadas were filled with a spinach and kidney bean mixture, which was tasty, but very close to having no immediate flavour at all; although I thought the empanada dough itself was delicious, slightly crisp and short in texture. <br/><br/>Then unfortunately, it wasn't the best from here on (excluding dessert, but we will get to that soon!). When we ordered the sliders and prawn bun, we were under the impression that they would be of a substantial size that you could cut in half and share between the two of us. Starting with the slider, it was fairly small, and a little underwhelming. It was my first experience trying crab, and the flavour was good, but close to luke warm and not very crisp for something that I assume had been deep fried. I wasn't able to detect any of the gremolata or aioli that was mentioned on the menu, just some pickled vegetables on a slightly dry slider *sadface. Then we moved onto the steamed prawn bun (I didn't take a picture, as it was swamped with some paper that didn't reveal much of the product). It was in the style similar to those that I have had at Bluebreeze Inn, where the steamed bun is more of a open sandwich that holds the filling. I hate saying bad things, but it really wasn't very appetising. The bun itself was cold, and there was once piece of soggy prawn that was no bigger than a 10 cent piece. The piece of prawn sat on a generous amount of avocado smash, only to realise after taking bite an extremely strange after taste that resembled very overripe avocado. I was so looking forward to the steam bun too! The final downside to these two dishes as well, was that I saw them as rather overpriced for what you received. I don't usually debate the pricing of food at eateries as I am aware of food costs, overheads etc but these two were undoubtedly overvalued. <br/><br/>Lastly, I have a major sweet tooth, so we decided to split the dessert of lemon curd, meringue and blueberries ($15). The lemon curd came in the form of a lemon mousse, served with a blueberry compote and a shard of meringue; simple yet flavoursome and refreshing for the beautiful summers day that it was. We left on a high note, but unfortunately it wasn't all that my high expectations wanted it to be. Although, I may have to come back once more for dinner, just to stare at the dreamy interior for a few minutes.

Beautiful decor and a lovely hostess the morning we arrived. Food portions is on the smaller side and the dollar signs on the higher end of the scale but it's fresh, trendy, and everything on display really...nice. It's a trendy way of eating the usual eggs on toast if you get what I mean. Would go there again for brekkie with the 'girls' but not with my hubby as he would end up ordering the entire brekkie menu as the dishes are smaller side. It was a lovely way to start any workong day...the cushioned seats definitely would make it difficult to head back to the office so I suggest a Saturday brunch with the 'girls' so you don't need to leave!

Went here for the first time for brunch today. I had the merguez sausage with an energiser juice and it was absolutely delish! Unusual combo of lean merguez, Aubergine chutney and crepe with a zatar sauce but boy did that combination work well for me! Staff were friendly and food came at a decent time despite the restaurant being packed. Would definitely go again.

Yummy late lunch at Odettes crepes were divine, friend had Odettes special breakfast and hubby had chunky fries and aioli. All really nice and almond coconut green tea. Well worth a visit and definitely return. Service friendly and reasonably timely.

Odette's Eatery. A gorgeously designed eatery set right in  city works depot! I'd been wanting to try this place for quite a while and am so so glad I did! It was a Thursday morning at around 11am when we arrived here.<br/><br/> Parking was definitely not an issue as we just parked on the side of the street with pay and display fees :)I was seriously wowed as I stepped foot into this place, it was absolutely stunning with extremely high ceilings with cute hanging lights. The waitress showed us to our table and poured us some sparkling water ( always a bonus) and told us the breakfast menu was ending in 15 minutes. However, we had no trouble ordering as everything on the menu looked delicious!! In the end, our table of three ordered the bircher, the tahitian crepes and the spinach omelette dish alongside with a coconut chai tea and the carrot juice. The food came out relatively quickly ( approx 10 minutes). <br/><br/>Bircher: This was the dish that I had ordered and I was so glad that I did because I can honestly say it was the nicest bircher I'd ever had! and I've had quite a lot haha. The Almond milk was supplied from Carew Kitchen and I could taste the freshness in every spoon! This was paired perfectly with the puffed wild rice and toasted almonds plus what I think was little pear/apple pieces and marinated berries! Every mouthful brought nostalgia to my mind as it reminded me of those days I would eat honey rice krispies for breakfast before school; just that this was actually HEALTHY for you!! <br/><br/>The Vanilla Crepes:  This dish came out beautifully, with lovely folded fluffy crepes surrounded by lemon yogurt and blueberry compote! The crepes were wonderful and cooked to perfection, however the dish admittedly was quite average and mediocre and did not have a wow factor. Still a good dish tho but quite standard and simple in my opinion.<br/><br/>Spinach Omelette: YUMYUMYUM! I had a little taste of this dish and I can say it is delectable, especially the eggplant Rouille and persian feta it is accompanied by, holy moly! Would reccomend if you're more of a savoury person, however if bircher is your thing DEFINTELY GET THAT! cos I'm still salivating thinking about it til this day<br/><br/>Overall, the food and service and of course environment, was good. Prices are definitely reasonable for the quality of food you get, would return again to try their lunch menu!

My husband and I treated ourselves to a decadent dinner at Odette’s on Saturday. They don’t take bookings so we arrived before 6pm because we were going to a show later that evening. There were not many diners when we arrived and while more arrived later, the dining room didn’t really fill up like I expected. A relief as I actually prefer places that aren't too busy.<br/><br/>The site is the former Miss Ping’s – a table tennis bar but it has been completely transformed. The dining room is vast with super high stud, comfy banquet seating with plenty of throw pillows for comfort. The colours and textures of the decor are great and the lighting is dim and romantic. <br/><br/>We were in a celebratory mood so we ordered cocktails. They had four cocktails available so we tried all four: Odette, Wilson, Kennedy, and Rose. My favourite was the pear one but they were all nice and beautifully presented.<br/><br/>The staff are friendly and service is towards the the formal side. Our carafe of water (choice of still or sparkling) was kept topped up and they have nice glassware.<br/><br/>We decided to order a range of dishes to share. We picked three from their Bites menu and three from their Sharing menu. We love meat and seafood and our choices reflect this.<br/><br/>Bites: 2 x Soft Shell Crab Sliders ($9 each). Perfect. Followed with Atlantic Scallop on crostini (2 scallops for $9). The avocado mousse was creamy and worked rally well with the scallop, though I felt a little more acid would have been a nice contrast. The beef cheek fire cracker was a tasty dish. A filo pastry cigar with tender meat inside. The slow cooked beef melted in your mouth and this was seasoned beautifully with just a little kick. An easy dish to share (just cut the “firecracker” in half, although I could have easily eaten one (or two) of these by myself.<br/><br/>Sharing plates: Tuna Carpaccio was a generous portion for $19. Lots of interesting flavours going on. The wild mushroom with donuts was very unusual and had a strong smokey flavour. I wasn’t so fond of the donut as the colour and texture (dark brown and chewy) threw me off a bit. Looking at other people's photo of the same dish, I wonder no if our donuts were burnt? Our favourite dish, unsurprisingly was the BBQ Pork Belly. The pork was thinly sliced and there was crackling sprinkled on top and the aioli was amazing. <br/><br/>The food was so good and we would have licked our plates clean if we thought no one was watching. The pacing was great and the order of dishes was perfect. We usually only had one dish at our table at a time, making this feel like a DIY degustation. We never felt rushed.<br/><br/>Their menu is concise and easy to navigate, though the folded paper menus seemed a bit too casual and out of place. Gluten free options are marked clearly. Their vegetarian options are not marked by there appear to many many exciting and unusual vegetarian dishes. The food at Odettes is a more expensive than the places we normal eat at but the ingredients were excellent and the dishes are unique and innovative. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked.<br/><br/>Total came to about $160 for three bites, three sharing plates, four cocktails and a beer. Not cheap, but good value for the calibre of food and drink we enjoyed. Highly recommended. Would come back.

I did like dinning here but this place is seriously overrated, in my opinion.  Firstly, the good, I really like the décor and atmosphere of this restaurant. The lighting and cushioned seating around the walls are fabulous. The service here is good but not great. The waitresses have a terrible habit of reaching across people when they are serving. Instead of coming around to the other side of the table they just lean across. A place that does this, despite whether or not the food is good or not, can never get more than a 3. Speaking of the food, it's average here. I had the baked salmon salad which was quite nice. Kidney beans and salmon are an od pairing and I didn't think it worked. The salmon was cooked perfectly though and I enjoyed the other components of the dish. My dad had the goats curd dumpling which had a great flavor but was too runny. They could have done something amazing with this dish. The dessert here is not good. I had the strawberry and rose semi fredo. The glorified ice-cream was so hard it was almost impossible to break with my fork. They served it on a plate so tiny, it made it even more difficult to eat. My dad's "hazelnut cheesecake" had a soggy base and weird texture. Not sure why they are calling it a cheesecake - it's more like a moose gone wrong, it's consistency was not cheesecake-like at all! I'm not completely righting this place off, I would be keen to try the breakfast but I think they need make serious improvements to both the service and food.

I have been wanting to try Odettes at City Works Depot for a while so when it was time to pick a place for a girly catch up on Sunday it was an easy choice. We went there at lunch time and the place was busy so we had to wait about 10 minutes before we were seated, which was fine.<br/>On Sunday's they offer a brunch menu only, but there was a lot of tasty dishes to choose from. I started with the Shed 5 smoothie which was yummy and fresh a perfect start to a Sunday brunch. For food I had the Odettes complete, kind of a 'big breakfast'. The whipped feta and heirloom tomatoes made it next level though, amazing!<br/>The space is nice and airy and there is under cover outdoor seating as well, it is a great addition to the Zu and Zo and Zomer family!

Visited here a while back, last November for lunch. We were very excited to try this place out since they had opened and were not disappointed. Staff were friendly as they were full and allowed us to sit at the bar until a table was available. We ordered the beef cheeks, pork belly, mushroom and soft shell crab sliders. By far, the favourite was the mushroom dish which led us begging for more. <br/>Odettes has a wonderful ambiance as well as food, with us returning soon

Following the success of Ortolana et al, the owners of Odettes (among many, many others) have decided there is money to be made in the all-day, smaller-and-larger sharing plates eatery game. Happily, it's a solid example of the genre which represents decent value for money - unlike the previously mentioned Ortolana, whose plates appear to be becoming smaller by the day. But I digress. Odettes is staffed by cheerful, bright-eyed young staff who were occasionally slightly shambolic but charming nevertheless. I appreciated the acknowledgement of my excellent choice of beverage (bloody mary). <br/><br/>I had the spinach and kidney bean empanada as a starter, followed by the goat's cheese dumplings. My boyfriend had the scallops, the crab slider, a small filo pie, and possibly some other items that I have forgotten. He pronounced them all delicious and ordered a second round of scallops. My empanada, served with thick yoghurt and dusted with spices, was fantastic - perfectly crisp, hot, flaky pastry that shattered into thousands of delicious shards immediately upon biting into it. The kidney bean and spinach filling was rich and the sprinkling of spices on top played off against the creamy yoghurt. I was less impressed with my main, the goat's cheese dumplings with leeks and sage butter. The dumplings themselves were light and the filling was tangy and perfectly creamy. Unfortunately, the dumplings were served drowning in a pool of claggy, cream sauce containing a few fried sage leaves and leeks, which completely overwhelmed the delicate dumplings. There was no mention of cream on the menu so perhaps the dish was altered from its usual iteration on the day I visited?<br/><br/>For dessert we shared a hazelnut cheesecake. Perfectly nice but not dense enough for my tastes - it was more like a mousse. A pleasant end to the meal, though, especially as after the dumplings I could feel my arteries clogging with casein.<br/><br/>Despite my misgivings about my main I enjoyed my lunch at Odettes. The fitout is beautiful and the restaurant is that cliched thing - an inner city oasis. But give the dumplings a miss - perhaps the non-vegetarian dishes are the way to go.<br/><br/>UPDATE - We visited today for brunch. I had the organic eggs on toast with a side of heirloom tomato and my boyfriend had the pork hock omelette. Service was again pleasant but slightly shambolic and the room was very loud. <br/><br/>My eggs were perfectly poached and the accompanying heirloom tomato was ripe and well-seasoned, but $11 seemed very steep for two eggs and a single piece of seeded bread sliced in half (the tomatoes were $4 extra). Unfortunately the pork hock omelette was less successful. Bizarrely, the egg layer was thicker than a coffee-table art tome and horribly under seasoned. The pork hock was virtually undetectable. A side of merguez sausage was dry and not particularly flavoursome.<br/><br/>Once again Odettes proved itself to be a mixed bag. Still, I found the overall dining experience sufficiently pleasant that I would probably go back.

Came here for breakfast on Auckland Anniversary morning. They were quite busy but we were lucky enough to get a table outside in the front area.<br/><br/>I ordered a fresh juice mix not sure if the name but I remember there was blood orange in it. Well my husband had an iced coffee.<br/>I thought the juice was extremely overpriced even though good. My husband is very picky with coffee and he thought the coffee at Odettes were exceptional. <br/>For breakfast we shared the breakfast burger and the creamy mushrooms. <br/>My favourite out of the 2 were the mushrooms- it wasn't overly creamy and the blue cheese gave it a nice tang. The slivers of chorizo was a nice touch. It was really delicious and I still crave it months later. We obviously need to go back to Odettes. The only difference is that I won't be ordering the juice and will try something other than the breakfast burger.

I was so easily sold by Odettes' brunch menu it's not funny. The moment you offer soaked figs with goats cheese bagels, and whipped feta with eggs, or perhaps scrambled spinach eggs with eggplant roullie, you have my heart for life. I went one weekend, and promptly brought my parents back the following weekend. They brought their friends the weekend after that - if we carry on this way we'll populate Odettes simply through my extended family. <br/><br/>I'd say the downsides were only the coffees which were delicious but too small, and young staff who clear plates before the rest of the table has finished (a pet peeve, admittedly, but a rule I stick to).<br/><br/>I'm definitely returning, and will try to return at non-brunch hours so I am forced to try something not on their brunch menu!
Don's Food Fiesta
Had a lovely breakfast here. Ordered the homemade merguez sausage and my partner ordered the spinach scrambled - both very nice. Service with a smile, great eatery :)

Positive: Service was good, and the ambience is very nice<br/>Negatives: Food is overpriced for the quantity as well as quality (we chose from the snack menu as we went around 3). Had the prawn brik, spinach and bean empanada, the olive pickle with lavosh and firecracker beef. Everything was average, nothing spectacular. The prawn brik is about the size of a small spring roll, and $6 for one!!!! <br/>Wont be back here.

Went here for dinner on Saturday, and loved everything about Odettes! Super cool relaxed decor, lovely friendly staff with personality, and divine food. We had the small sharing plates and loved every one. How refreshing to eat food that is unique and exciting - everything was tasty but with an unexpected twist. Will be going back soon.

The newest kid on the block in the industrialised City Works Depot, Odettes Eatery (did Disney's Swan Princess decide to go into the food business?) is something of a metropolitan oasis open for morning, afternoon and night. Designed by Chesire Architects and hospitality guru owners Clare and Joost van den Berg (they even have cool names), the eatery's decour is like a piece of art. I love the mash-up of the eye-catching tropical canvas atop the Tiffany-blue painted sleek wall contrasted on either side with gorgeous hand-crafted wooden and Celeste-blue ceramic tiled walls, the delicate glass Parison pendants hovering above and protruding chic lamps. Even the crockery is hip and patterned cups cool, all the while sticking to the (50 shades of) blue colour palate at Odettes. For brunch I devoured their drool worthy mushrooms dish. Everything was delicious and I could taste the subtlety of the blue cheese sauce. I also sampled the duck confit salad which was fruitly exotic and nice but a tad sweet for my liking. Meals arrived exceptionally quick (either they wanted to get rid of us or are just that efficient) with staff polite. Cons: juices are $8-9 and they could do with an apostrophe.<br/><br/>For more reviews around Auckland, follow adl_taste_akl on Instagram!

Went to Odettes for a casual dinner with a reasonably big group for drinks and dinner. the restaurant was about three quarters empty and they still would only let us order a  set menu, wouldn't even listen to our suggestions of platters or staggered meals (we were in no rush). So we settled for drinks. Such over priced cocktails, mine had zero flavour and tasted like it had absolutely no alcohol. Waitress never came to see  if we wanted more drinks, would have been willing to spend a couple of hundy of drinks if the service had been better.<br/>Will not be returning as service was terrible and were not in the slightest bit accommodating, even when the  place was empty.
Two Dark Coffees
Okay, I'll admit, the concrete and modern industry-styled design of this place did make me double take their instagram page but good thing it did I say. <br/><br/>This place is the epicentre of 'cool' which means yesterday was my first but definitely not last visit, to Odettes Eatery. <br/><br/>With a playlist I want to spend hours shazaming and reminiscing with a friend, this place has the effortless cool vibe down to a tee. <br/><br/>Staff members are friendly and can crack a smile out of you, even after a busy day rushing around Auckland. <br/><br/>Good coffee can be hard to find if you are out of the know. So if you are ever lost trying to find that perfect coffee fix, make your way to Odettes. Quality over quantity is what you get here. And that extends from their food right through to their coffee. <br/><br/>My sister and I ordered the pork belly and a bowl of hand cut fries to share and a coffee each.<br/><br/>The pork belly was interesting. Not exactly what we were expecting but it all went  in the end, so that says everything in itself.  <br/><br/>The fries were on another level. I mean, I would go back just for them alone. Placed on top of the tartare sauce, they were the perfect fries in my books. <br/><br/>I usually finish these reviews by advising you who you could possibly bring to a certain place, but honestly you could take anyone here. If you want, do what I'm going to do and bring absolutely everyone!

After a big night on the bubbles for our Christmas do the girls headed to Odettes after salivating over the menu for weeks. We all had the smashed avocado and strong coffees. The service was great, friendly chatty staff, the food was devine and arrived quickly. It's not at the cheap end of Auckland eateries but it is definitely value for money.

Loved the food, loved the atmosphere, maybe the service was a bit over the top, but overall great experience, I'll definitely be back! In particular I recommend the bread and apple butter, the snapper and the lamb.

Odettes Eatery is like a breath of oasis to the industrial grind atmosphere of Shed 5. Whilst the previous motorbike cafe was interesting, the location didn’t give it the spotlight it deserved. As experienced owners of Zomer cafe in Takapuna, they have completely transformed the space into a bright but elegant dining space.<br/><br/>As I stepped in, the decor of cushiony sofas and overhanging lights was warm and inviting. Thanks to the high ceiling and the light streaming in from outside, Odettes could fit in quite a few tables without making it feel claustrophobic. It was buzzing on a Saturday afternoon, and luckily we got a table for 2.<br/><br/>I didn’t have high expectations for the food. For me, brunch food was just the norm – eggs, bacon, sausages. Quite heavy food that would quite often send me into a food coma for the rest of the afternoon. I even opted for the haloumi variation in the hope that my friend would help me finish the dish. The chorizo was sweetly glazed and cooked in the same sauce the mushroom was in. The chunky pieces of haloumi didn’t add to a heavy bloated feeling but because it had a little bit of everything, the whole dish was just so satisfying as you sampled your way across the dish.<br/><br/>The lemon and blueberry crepes were just right – fluffy and light. Although I’m not normally a fan of blueberries, the sweetness offset the tart lemony flavour. To be honest, if I had it myself as a brunch choice I would probably be craving something more. But as a shared one, it was a thumbs up!<br/><br/>With such a soothing space decked in turquoise and warm wooden hues but most importantly – top-notch food, I’d recommend Odettes as a priority to try out. I’d easily go back to try more of the menu – like the soft shell crab sliders!

Service was awful when being seated. While waiting behind a party of two, a staff member asked if they were being helped. They were already being served by another waitress and were directed to their table shortly afterwards. Another party of two arrived behind me and immediately, were offered a table while I was completely ignored. They did not have a booking nor did they know the staff. In the end, I had to approach a staff member myself to ask for a table and to be served. Although the food was good, the service I received tarnished the experience.

I loved my experience in Odettes. We went there on a Friday night for dinner, and we definitely braced ourselves for the waiting time. However, we got seated at the bar immediately as other seats were full.<br/><br/>We ordered asparagus slaw, safron torteillini and duck confit salad. All the 3 dishes were really good. The asparagus slaw had bresaola in it that added an extra taste to the dish, and it was really good. I really loved the safron torteillini, the creamy sauce and soft torteillini was just amazing. However there were only 5 or 6 torteillinis on the plate, that is tad too little for a main, and overpriced for its size. But I definitely loved the flavour. Last but not least, the duck confit salad was really good. We weren't expecting much, because we just wanted to try something new. But wow, the unique taste due to the mixture of ingredients made the dish amazing. There were mandarins, grapes, slices of green apples present together with the duck and spinach. Yumm, the thought of the meal last night makes me hungry. :)<br/><br/>The service was really good too, the staffs were so attentive, very welcoming and nice. Besides that, I also loved the setting of the place and the ambience, 'it was great' would be an understatement.<br/><br/>If it wasn't pricey, I would definitely go there sometime real soon for dinner again. However, I am looking forward to try their brunch menu. :)<br/>

A beautiful and sophisticated designer interior with a Scandinavian feel, this is the latest and greatest entry in the City Works Depot complex. It has a calm and inviting decor, the staff are friendly, the menu has some inventive dishes on it, and overall I got the impression that the same high quality that one found at Zus & Zo has been applied here. The dish that impressed me most was the Saffron Tortellini, it was sublime, with a rich creamy sauce and beautiful soft tender pasta.... And the presentation of the soft shell crab sliders was also worthy of a mention. Classy with character.

I absolutely loved Odettes! The food was delicious, I had the asparagus slaw to start and then the salmon salad and the charred broccolini which were all great. My family also tried the duck salad and the pasta dish and all were very happy with their dishes. The interior is really open and comfortable but at the same time a cool place to sit and eat and the service is fantastic the staff were all really friendly which always makes the whole experience better. I would definitely recommend Odettes to anyone.

New place at City works depot. Place looks amazing, felt like I entered a different city. Deco very well done, has a very warm, comfortable and inviting vibe. Definitely aims to attract working people to visit before work in the morning or during lunch time. We came before work to get a quick breakfast. I only had a muffin and a cup of coffee cause we wanted to be quick. A friend wanted to order a cooked meal from the menu but was afraid we would be runnin late. The staff assured us they will be super super quick and they were super super super quick! Food Quality was top notch, service couldn't be better, staff were super friendly and chirpy. Definitely made a good start to my day after leaving odette's eatery. :)

After what felt like a long working week, a Friday night treat was definitely in order! I met up with a good friend at Odettes as we had both heard great things (and seen cool pics on Instagram!)<br/><br/>The place is very cool, awesome decor, not really like anything in the CBD. We were impressed by the size of the place and pleased there was plenty of seating to avoid having to wait. <br/><br/>We started with the spinach empanadas and ciabatta with apple butter. The empanadas were extremely tasty, it was a shame there were only three! The ciabatta was toasted perfectly and the apple butter complimented it well. <br/><br/>We shared a pitcher of Pimms as the waiter explained it would be cheaper if we were both ordering cocktails, which I appreciated. I had the saffron tortellini for my main and my friend had the wagyu. We also shared the broccolini and after seeing the outer tables order fries we decided we needed those too ;)<br/><br/>The tortellini was to die for, I will be going back for this dish alone. The broccolini was very moreish and extremely tasty drizzled in lemon. The chips were probably the best I've had! I must admit, I ended up dunking the chips in the remainder of the tortellini sauce, it was that good.<br/><br/>We shared the lemon curd dessert as we were both quite full. My friend took a mouthful and his immediate reaction was an enthusiastic 'Woooo!' which did attract a bit of attention from other patrons! It was very lemony, with blueberries helping to sweeten it up.<br/><br/>After all that food we shared a pot of coconut chai tea as it caught my eye. It smelt amazing and was a great note to finish such and awesome meal on.<br/><br/>The service was impeccable. All the staff were different in their approach, but all very friendly and more than happy to talk about the food. We had no problem asking them their favourite dishes and recommendations. We also asked to look at the brunch menu and we will be bak very soon!
