Review Major Sprout - Auckland Central

The food was delicious and the coffee was great:) Lucky we found parking outside on the street. It was fairly quiet when we visited today. The restaurant staff were friendly and their toilets were clean šŸ‘ A great place for a meeting or a catch-up with friends.

Amazing food. I had the chefs special peppered beef. It came out on a scolding hot skillet and then I had spicy chicken both were amazing. Staff were super friendly and they charge back to the Ramada suites which is very handy. Will be back

Had brunch here one weekend and I really enjoyed it. Last time I ate here was more than a year ago, and it was like rediscovering the cafe again. Ordered the Free Range Eggs w Toast and added sautĆ©ed herb mushrooms to it. The poached eggs were perfect-- the yolk would just ooze out once sliced with a fork. Flat white was also amazingly good ā˜• Food was served quickly even though the cafe was almost full, and staff is really nice. Loved the whole experience! Will definitely be back šŸ¤©

The food was good, but they don't let you choose how you want your eggs and the portions aren't large. The glasses are really small for some reason and getting water top is inconsistent. The chairs in some areas are uncomfortable, I saw a few groups ask to move locations. The place was very packed and noisy.

We came to this restaurant as recommended zomato gold and got the okonomiyaki and the green tea noodle salad. The okonomiyaki was made very well and tasted delicious, arguably better than those made in Japan. The noodle salad wasn't bad but felt a bit small portion wise and made you wanting more. The service was good but I didn't like the small water cups and small water pitchers, which required to be refilled 4 times during our visit. The restaurant is modern but felt stuffy on on the day.

This is my new breakfast spot! Great coffee, amazing menu that is unique, creative and fresh. Overall the food is well balanced and prepared to perfection. The green Eggs Benedict is a new take on the traditional hollandaise version, I loved the thicker bacon, it was juicy and tasty. The rosti was crispy on the outside while soft and gorgeous on the inside. This version left me feeling a little "healthier" than your usual eggs bene!

Very beautiful ambience, perfect for having photography sessions as it has a big glass wall to capture pictures in natural light. Happy staff to greet you. Warm Food was served. As it was rainy day, best part was, we were served with warm water, this kind gesture made my day. Thank you so much.

Food taste nice. Recently, many cafe is doing chilli crab scramble. Food taste was more than average. Scramble was perfectly made. Only thing to point out was little late making food. Coffee became very cold.when i got.the food.

A fantastic little cafe in Auckland that brings some Korean Fusion to brunch/lunch. It's hard to find the MENU online, so I snapped a copy and included it in the photos! The decor and atmosphere is great, and the food is really good (with hints of Korean influences). I had "The Big Fill" - their take on typical big breakfast. It came with Thick cut bacon, lamb sausage, agria (potato) rosti, pork-belly, home-made baked beans, poached eggs, sourdough. This really hit the spot as I was wanting a big meal. The one thing I'll say is that I'm not a fan of home-made baked beans... but this isn't a compliant against the cafe, I just don't enjoy beans at all. My wife had the Bibimbap, which was really tasty. Not a traditional korean version of the dish, but an updated/brunch-like creation. It's hard to explain. My friend had the Tteok Galbi Burger, which is like a meatball/rissole burger, and looked fantastic. The meatballs were quite tasty and I had only a slight amount of food envy. The one thing I might say is that parking could be tough, I'm not from around here so I had no clue. Coffee was outstanding and they had some epic looking donuts for sale!

Big Fill & Beef cheek. My partner love the lamb sausage, itā€™s really special! The beef is tender! The only point I didnā€™t like is the flat white, taste like being overcookedā€¦and bitterā€¦But just my opinion, my partner said the coffee is good.

Food was really good and nice atmosphere. Just the service that let it down a bit having to ask for water, coffee orders and food. There's a kids menu and they had pens for them to use too. It's tucked away in central Auckland not far from Sky City so parking isn't great even on the weekend.

Great food with great presentation. And donā€™t get me wrong, they also taste good. Like the decorations, especially a V shape light hanging on a pole šŸ˜† If the owner saw this review, please let me know where did you get it, thanks in advanceļ¼

We went for brunch and was really impressed with the service and serving sizes. I got the creamy mushrooms and the dude got some mince dish that was also extremely tasty. The only reason I took off one star is that the sour dough slices were kind of hard to cut through? Like, it felt like we had to reaaally saw through them.

The breakfast was delicious, I got the big fill and it sure did that. Up there with one of the best big breakys I've had. Great coffee and fast friendly service from the girls. Will definitely return as soon as I can!! So good.

This is an awesome place for breakfast. Went here a couple of times, and will be back for more. Their pancakes were awesome, as well as green eggs Benedict. Love the interior, and the service is always impeccable.

My wife and I have been here at least four times and not once has it been disappointing! The food and presentation are amazing! Today I tried the galbi burger and it tasted divine! One of the best cafes in Auckland! Not to mention the coffee is one of the best too!
Marnie
Amazing buttermilk pancakes! Presentation was so beautiful too. I tasted bits and pieces from the big breakfast and oh how I wish I could make those baked beans at home šŸ¤¤

AƧai bowl was super delicious and healthy!

Sorry, this experience rubbed me up the wrong way to the point that I needed to leave this review to make sure others don't get the same treatment (fast forward to the end). Our whanau of 4 had Sunday Brunch there today, eagerly looking forward to it but unfortunately left with a sour taste in the mouth and won't ever go back. Having not been back to M.S. for more than a year, the coffee was very good as it always has been, but the food was not great, and definitely disappointing considering the anticipation based on our previous visits. Banana bread french toast was way too thick, dense and super dry. This dish like the others we had, a great example of style over substance, quantity over quality. The chilli crab scramble had no discernable bits of crab from what the eye could see, but who would know if it was crab or not as the way-too-sweet and not-so-spicy sambal took unwanted centre stage. A punchier kimchi could have saved it but yeah yet another case of averageness. Beans in the Big Fill dish were cold, lifeless and dry.....What really annoyed us though was that with 2 young kids in tow (8 and 9 year old), we ordered from the main menu. The younger one going with the french toast and the other, the big fill up. However after ordering and once the coffees had arrived, our same waitperson decided to give our 2 kids a colouring in handout which also included the kids menu. The kids menu states that all dishes on the menu can be ordered as a kids portion. Obviously a significant price difference and a significant portion size difference - way too much food for 2 kids under 10 - and pretty average service to be honest. At the checkout when paying the bill, we decided to let the same person know that we felt it was disingenuous to give us kids menus after our kids ordered from the main one. The unsincere "sorry about that" 3-word reply just didn't cut it for us. And as a food tour operator in Auckland, I'll simply vote with my feet. Don't make the same mistake we did.

It is a cozy cafe with nice food and coffee. I went there before lunch, but they are still busy. Friendly staff and good customer service.

Visited at around 10 on Sunday morning, there wasnā€™t so many people when we got there. The service was really fast and they were very kind and friendly as well. We ordered the pancake and the mince on toast. The pancake was definitely a 10/10, itā€™s just a fluffy as we expected and it was delicious. The mince on toast was actually a pretty big portion and has a good flavour, however it was a bit salty. Would definitely come back again to try out other stuff and get the pancake again!!!

Iā€™ve been wanting to visit major sprout for the longest time and I finally got a chance to do so! šŸ’ž We ordered the ā€˜Buttermilk pancakesā€™ šŸ„ž which were very indulgent (perfect for those with a sweet tooth)! It was covered in a butterscotch custard and surrounded by fresh fruit šŸ‡šŸŽšŸŠšŸ, fairy floss, walnuts and cream! We also ordered the ā€˜Green Eggs Benedictā€™ šŸ„ššŸ³ this classic came on top of a potato rosti šŸ„” with your choice of bacon šŸ„“ , salmon or mushrooms šŸ„! Finally, we also tried the ā€˜Butternut tortelliniā€™ from their new menu, this was served with red chilli cream, hazelnuts, semi-dried tomatoes šŸ… and a parmesan crisp šŸ§€šŸ˜! I can see why it was rated so highly, I would definitely recommend coming here for brunch! Iā€™m looking forward to coming back to try their ā€˜Banana Bread French Toastā€™ šŸ§”šŸ’›

one of my favourite cafe in AKL, good quality of food, good service and relax environment, <br/>recommended.<br/>
Xin Xuan Lee
I found the eggs benefit a little difficult to eat. The base was way too hard. The pancakes was nice though. A friend of mine got the butternut tortellini and said it was too overpowering.<br/>The ambience was really cozy and the food was very insta worthy and well presented!
Eatateeaten
very good and friendly service<br/>the food comes in worthy and readonable portion.<br/>The cafe environment gives the feeling of warm and cozy.
Charles Ho
The potato mash in Big Fill was over fried, the bacon was not crispy. Although french toast was good at the start, the flavour became too overwhelming. Overall the dishes did not jump out as being unique.
Reema Singh
Really nice food. Looks amazing and tastes even better. Coffee is really good. These guys are quite busy on weekends so make bookings! Recommend trying the buttermilk pancakes!
Regina Sanga
We arrived to the place at 1210 pm and did not get served till more than an hour later. VERY long preparation time and the customer service was not up to par with the average customer service people get at other cafes. Really disappointed at the service and waiting time mostly, as my friends and I only had a limited time to stay. What was expected to be brunch ended up being a late lunch. Sorry but I am very disappointed and probably will not be coming again.

Great food and great service

So Iā€™ve been here a few times now for coffee and brunch. The interior is modern yet inviting and the staff are welcoming. Coffee can be hit and miss sometimes however the food generally looks good and tastes good. Overall quality of the experience here is pretty good and the location is central with lots of parking so itā€™s in line with the norm price wise.<br/><br/>Really enjoyed my coconut rice bowl when I came in last! Was a little sweet for my taste, absolutely decadent though and quite filling. The poached pear and rhubarb added a necessary tartness and the crumble provided a lovely crunch to break up the texture. A well thought out and presented meal and worth the price.
Amindha Fernando
I rate a creamy mushroom but who ever thought this is a breakfast dish clearly intended on you going back to sleep right after eating it. Nevertheless this was amazing and a great start to the morning. Coffee was on point too!
Kelly
Excited to brunch here since Iā€™ve had this saved in my bookmarks for a while. <br/><br/>Ordered green tea noodles and buttermilk pancakes. Both dishes are presented beautifully, and each dish well crafted and flavours worked so well together!<br/><br/>Food here is instagram worthy and every bit delicious! <br/><br/>Highly recommend and will be back for more, great spot! <br/>Staff are attentive and food came out relatively quickly. <br/>

Lovely decor, food and service. Heard a lot about this place and stoked to finally try it. We had a couple of items- the creamy mushrooms with a side of bacon and a poached egg, this was a beautiful, rich dish with 3 kinds of mushrooms and pecorino cheese on top. its not your usual creamy mushrooms. We also had the chicken bites, which was well fried, not too oily and with a lovely flavour. the smoothies were great too. Nice weekend brunch place and good parking spots too.
Tom
Been here a couple of times and always good and their service is quite fast, food spot for a weekend brunch

Itā€™s almost deserted around the cafe at Sunday brunch time. Tuck away in a back street in the midst of office buildings. It was a clean and bright space inside. The menu had some good twists to the classic & some that you would not have expected from a cafe. I got the okonomiyaki with a slab of bacon. It was really more of a fritter and had more flour and denser then ones I had before in Japan. The bacon was literally a slab (two slabs). Found the whole thing rather odd. I did enjoy the coffee though, and maybe iā€™ll try something different if I come back again.

I love this place! i have come here several times now and the food is amazing. the pancakes are by far my favourite - super fluffy and their coffee is nice and strong too!
Shahana
I came here with a friend and it was a first for both of us. We ordered two of the most popular dishes the buttermilk pancakes and acai bowl. Both of the dishes were presented well and looked really appetising. The buttermilk pancakes were quiet dense and not as fluffy as what weā€™d preferred however, the ice cream and nuts surrounding the pancakes were yummy which made them the highlight of the dish for us. The acai bowl was delicious! although the consistency was a little runny. Overall I would come back but would definitely try something new.
Leslie Wooller
I received an Acai bowl that looked nice but the berry mixture was very runny and liquidy. Apparently they had blended room-temp berries so it was more like a drink than a breakfast in a bowl. It is suppose to be a thick smooth consistency!! When I told them I was not happy they simply shrugged...oh well that's how it should be!! I think not.
Charlotte
Favourite brunch spot in Auckland so far.

On the bucket list for a long time, I finally made it to Major Sprout. If you can get past the painful experience of finding a car park, youā€™ll be chuffed with the menu. Lots of great sweet, savoury, vego and meat options. We got the broken eggs with greens and the butternut, capsicum and cream cheese omelette. The omelette was a little under but both dishes had herds of flavour. The turmeric latte and coffee were great, and the service was efficient and friendly. Yum, keep it up šŸ‘šŸ¼

Lovely location and building. Spacious and idyllic. The menu is amazing and they staff are equally great, I nice place to go if you are wanting a more boujee atmosphere.

We had been here previously and remembered the food and coffee was great. Came back using zomato gold food but we were slightly let down by the downsize in portion. But the food and coffee was still good.

Went there with a group of friends as it was strongly recommended by a friend of mine. But it ended up we all disappointed by the food that we got. One of us had ordered Creamy Mushroom which tastes way too sweet and we thought it was kind of weird after we all had a taste of it. But the chef thought it was alright and explained that it is supposed to be sweet. Coffee and smoothie was ok though. Service and environment are good too. However the only dish that we all liked was the hashtag fries... Given by the rate and price of this place, I would say that it is definitely overrated and doesnā€™t worth the money.
Chan Can Eat
Awesome brunch spot in the city! Highly recommend<br/>Great for both the mates catch ups and business meetings.<br/>The food is beautiful to look at, but tastes it also! Their charcoal bowl is also delish! But word to the wise, not great choice for a date.... it gets all over your mouth and teeth. Lol<br/>Their coffee is really awesome too, oh- and the takeaway treats!
Sorry_vonguenumber
Decent cafe. Gets a little noisy in there. Food wise probably on the pricey side. Six dumplings for $19. It was nice but that was all. The kale salad, is a salad. I donā€™t really get kale personally. Green frizzy cardboard. Each to their own I guess. Maybe I just didnā€™t pick the right dishes.

Busy especially during weekends. Service can be slow sometimes but it is still very friendly and excellent.<br/>Recently I've tried their creamy mushroom, acai bowl and eggs on sourdough but my all time faves is still the buttermilk pancake (sweettooth and easy to eat).<br/>The acai bowl is delicious and very insta worthy.<br/>Creamy mushroom is tasty, has a hint of bulgogi sauce to it, but the bread was really hard to cut into making it hard to eat. We ordered coffee but it ended up coming out after we finished out food as we had to remind the staff, but that was fine.<br/>Same with the eggs on sourdough, the bread is thick and soft in the inside but the outside part is very hard to cut.<br/>Their green eggs benedict is great as well and I love that they have the half size option too.<br/>Smoothies are nice too but too filling to eat with food.<br/>Their slices in the cabinet are also decent.

The food here was great, and the presentation is so beautiful and worthy for an instagram photo. The staffs were great and the environment was nice. Good place to go with friends

I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday here, the staff let me bring my own deco, balloons and cake. They were really friendly during the meal and service was really quite speedy. Won't complain about the price because the food was really great and the quality was consistent across the table!
Zara
One of the best places Iā€™ve been. Ordered the coconut mango bowl and was a 10/10. Staff were friendly and it was very clean. Would definitely recommend
Yana Petrenko
Had my birthday brunch here and wasnā€™t too impressed or disappointed in anything here. The service was about a 8/10 in my eyes as the staff was very friendly and quite attentive but not 100%. The cafe is quite large and fits a lot of people in so you donā€™t feel to crowded. As we went as a group of 4, 2 of us got the pancakes and the other 2 got aƧai bowls. I personally thought the pancakes didnā€™t have much of a ā€œ Wow ā€œ factor in them, they tasted quite like ordinary pancakes and didnā€™t look THAT amazing but did look photo worthy x. From my point of view the aƧai bowls my friends had were quite running and i reckon shouldā€™ve been a bit thicker. Overall quite happy with this place but youā€™ll say if i was to be back here iā€™d order something else x
Cheapeatobsession
Amazing staff and ambiance. Beautiful place with lovely decor and surroundings. Super easy to get to and close to public transport. Delicious food and a very wide range of options. Ordered the pancakes which were deliciously sweet. The matcha latte was very disappointing and not sweet at all. Would not order again but would definitely go back.

Major Sprout has chic and trendy vibe, always busy during brunch- Their creamy mushroom is so good, they all come together really well; not to mention their smoothies so heavenly!
June Robinson
Great selection of food and a lot of love and care taken over the presentation and flavour of the food. It has a good ambience and was happy with the sparkling water offered free to patrons. Very diverse menu to suit all palates
Wendy Lau
Yummy food. Had the okonomiyaki (sp?) and it was delicious added extra bacon too which was so good. Super filling and worth every penny. Had the matcha latte too which was nice just be aware that it's made with a nut milk and not with fresh milk. But still lovely!
Foodhunta
Came here for brunch with family and friends. lovely environment, friendly service and tasty food. Food looks attractive and fancy. photos to be uploaded later.

Major Sprout is so delish!! Been here twice and both times I've gotten the acai bowl. The food is presented so well and so photoworthy and most importantly super tasty!!!! the staff is so lovely and the cafe is super modern and spacious!! 100% recommend everyone to come here its definitely worth it!!!

When we arrived it was around 11.30am and it seemed pretty busy except for the empty bar benches. We had to wait about 5 mins for someone to seat us at our table. Once we were at our table (which had dirty plates and glasses) we had a few of the staff just walk past us without clearing away the dishes. We were holding menus so it should have been quite obvious that we hadn't just finished our meals. Another table was cleared and people were seated and their orders were taken before ours were. We were there approximately 10 mins before them. After our orders were taken, drinks came out promptly but food took quite a while. All in all, I was a little disappointed at the sevice. The food was alright and the drinks were fine. Just wished we weren't made to feel like we didn't existed. Probably doesn't help that they have a large indoor potted tree that blocks us from the staff when they walk by.

Went there with friends on the latest 1+1 promotion. Food was tasty, however the portion are rather tiny :( we are not big eaters...had to have another meal after dining at Major Sprout
DB Eats
Really good atmosphere! Often quite busy but food is delicious so itā€™s understandable why!<br/><br/>Had their herbed scramble with salmon which was really nice, however felt the price for adding salmon was way to high for the small portion size. My friend got the green eggs benny and it had good reviews also. <br/><br/>Staff were not that friendly on this occasion but maybe just came on an off day. <br/><br/>Will definitely be cack though because the food is worth it!
Coriander Lover
Always good food. <br/>It is my favourite cafe. They have amazing food and visually the dish looks beautiful with all the decoration. Just looking at their instagram photos make me hungry :)

The coconut mango bowl was so delicious & creamy. Im not a fan of mango but it went really well with the coconut cream & fresh toppings. Bummed I didn't get a photo but it was so pretty & well put together. Service was good. Family friendly.

Came in here for breakfast ... awesome cafe... big, clean and modern looking. Fantastic menu selection to choose from.<br/>We got the The Big Fill -which was delicious especially the lamb sausage. <br/>And the half size portion of the eggs bene (sauce on the side)... well presented and everything cooked perfectly. Yum
Asianfoodie
The food is great - would recommend both the green tea noodle salad and the buttermilk pancakes. I enjoyed it.<br/><br/>However, I did find myself waiting for a long time to be served approx. 20 minutes. But because the food is good, I would want to return šŸ˜€šŸ˜€

Such a cute place! The large windows definitely bring in alot of light and makes the whole atmosphere nice and airy. Its quite the busy place yet the service is just as good. <br/><br/>For food I ordered the famous ā€œButtermilk pancakesā€ with an addition of ice cream and my friend had the ā€œUnwrapped souvlakiā€. The pancakes were abit tough which was a let down and the dish was overly sweet and by adding maple made it even more. It was pretty to look at though haha. The Souvlaki on the other hand was so good, mostly the agria chips! For drinks we had Iced choc | Iced mocha, both pleasant. <br/><br/>Ps. They have a qr code that makes you see what the dishes look like which is damn smart and helpful. Would go back again.

Given Major Sprout is one of Aucklandā€™s most hyped-cafes and is now on Zomato Gold, we thought it was time to give it a go. The interior is beautifully light and airy and the menu is full of delectable choices. This time we went for the green eggs benny, the aƧai bowl and the buttermilk pancakes. ā£<br/>ā£<br/>The eggs benny was probably my fave dish, partly because of itā€™s ode to Dr Seuss but also because it was super zesty and came on a potato rƶsti which Iā€™m all about 8/10. ā£<br/>ā£<br/>The hot cakes were pretty to the eye, all decked out with marshmallows, candy floss, and delicious almond mascarpone. To the taste they were fluffy but a tad dry, and really needed the extra maple syrup which we had to pinch for ourselves to add some moisture 7.5/10.ā£<br/>ā£<br/>The aƧai bowl was gorgeously presented and absolutely covered in fresh fruit, nut crunch, and coconut, but the smoothie itself was far too runny, which let the whole thing down 7/10.ā£<br/>ā£<br/>Overall Major Sprout does have a very cool vibe and some good menu options but I wouldnā€™t say the food is particularly outstanding or memorable.
Anastasia Matiatos
Major Sprout is damn cute man! Came here with my friend for the first time and we had been wanting to go for ages. I got the Coconut Mango bowl which costs $16 and it was so good and the smoothie bowl had very different fruit on it which I liked because it's usually just banana and apple so I liked there creativity. My friend got the Acai Bowl which also costs $16, we actually ended up paying $11 each because of the student discount which we were both very impressed by. The bowls were perfect for a photo and looked very appealing and super cute. The staff were so bubbly and chatty and the all round vibes in the cafe were 10/10. Can't wait to come back here! Recently came back here with 3 mates for a birthday brunch and my friend and I ordered the Acai Bowl which is good good but kinda too runny but she good it's okay!!! and the other 2 girls got the Pancakes which they found average but enjoyed. Sadly we didn't get the student discount this time :(( But overall experience was pretty fine sis. x

Been there a few times and the service is sometimes good but sometimes bad. Their food presentation is amazing. Love their smoothies too!!!!

Lovely place to visit. Decent food and nice service. Foods were well balanced too. Had a variety of different dishes so we shared them woth each other. Will visit again definitely
#fatlyfe
Ordered the eggs on toast, steak sandwich and smashed eggs. Unfortunately the bread used for the sandwich had a really hard and thick crust which was hard to cut into leave alone eat so I just left it. The onion chutney and steak were amazing came with fries and aoili which again was great. The smashed eggs came on 1 piece of bread which seemed to be very little for the price tag of $18!!! The eggs on toast had a reasonable price of $11

Located well though parking may be tricky as it is quite busy and there are not a lot of surrounding car-parks. <br/><br/>As for the food, their smoothies and sweet dishes are excellent. However their savoury dishes are ok. Overall recommended.
Lia
Came here on a Saturday and was surprisingly not too busy. Eggs bene were good with the egg being perfectly poached. Buttermilk pancakes were a bit too sweet but very pretty so we were happy haha
Kirsten
Major Sprout has attentive and wonderful customer service. Ordered the Beef Cheek Croquette and the Major Salad. The Beef Cheek Croquette was so crispy and crunchy, however I found the beef cheek quite bland. If it was marinated or had seasoning then it would've tasted better. The poached eggs were cooked so well, the yolk was runny! My friend who ordered the Major Salad was also satisfied with her meal. This was my second visit to this cafe, and I have not been left disappointed.
Erin.monckton99
Great little cafe, the food is delicious! Ordered the buttermilk pancakes and Iā€™m not normally one to order pancakes at a cafe but they were amazing! Not too sweet which wasnā€™t expected, but turned out good. Service was a bit slow, however food was quick.

Staff/service: 5/5<br/>Venue: 4/5<br/>Price/portion: 3.5/5<br/>Both me and my lunch partner ordered the snapper. We could smell the snapper on the waiting to serve table top, it smelled so good. I was worried about going to this cafe because I heard few bad reviews about this place. But I have been here before so I thought Iā€™d give it a go. <br/><br/>Ordered steak sandwich and snapper for lunch. My friend said she didnā€™t get onion tempura when she ordered steak sandwich but mine looked alright. <br/><br/>Food tasted great and also coffee was good too. <br/>However little bit slow service.<br/><br/>Overall happy with the experience.

Came on a weekday at around 2pm, when it wasn't too busy. Friendly staff and fast service. The food has a unique and nicely balanced flavour to it. Decent portion size and was filling enough. Great smoothies too.<br/><br/>- Miss Quinoa Vegan Bowl + Halloumi ; Creamy Mushrooms<br/>- Peanut Buttercup ; Sprouting Green

#zomato gold#<br/><br/>Excellent food. <br/><br/>Food: 5/5<br/>Atmosphere: 5/5<br/><br/>Had the pan fried snapper which was delicious as well as the mushrooms on toast. Both were excellent.<br/>The ultimate bonus itā€™s part of Zomato Gold!

This cafe is one of my fav brunch spot !! Green egg Benedict is awesome, their protein shake are amazing too! <br/>Staff are always friendly and attentive.

Came here for the first time today. I had the herb broken eggs and wasnā€™t too impressed. The bread just didnā€™t seem to go well with the rest of the dish.<br/><br/>The chicken dish however was good. May have just been unlucky and picked a dish which I personally didnā€™t like.<br/><br/>Food took a bit long to come out too. Service was good though
Pip
The food was amazing! I purchased the pork and chive dumplings and they were to die for! Definitely going back! Service was fine - it was very busy so hard to get a table
Q.chen213
The food is as quite nice but we didnā€™t like the drinks. The service was not good, we waited for over an hour and nothing come, so we follow up, they totally forgot our orders! Then they said they will ask the kitchen to hurry up, but it still took more then half hour for the food to finally arrived! They were not apologetic, we were not impressed at all!
Jubi
Tried their hot chocolate, okonomiyaki with salmon and wild mushroom fettuccine. The hot chocolate was a little smaller than expected though the flavour was good. The okonomiyaki was very filling with lots of ingredients. The fettuccine has an unique flavour which in my opinion does not go well with everyone (my toddler didn't like it at all). The cafe was really busy at the time, had to wait for a seat.

Great place to come from breakfast! Lunch here was also pleasantly good.<br/><br/>Place has a nice vibe to it and staff are lovely. If you want a strong coffee then I highly recommend this place!

4.5/5 Taste<br/>5/5 Display <br/>4/5 Quantity <br/>5/5 Customer Service<br/><br/>Proud to review this amazing Cafe in Auckland CBD as my 300th review!<br/><br/>This cafe was really trendy with the new well being hype. Menu was filled with healthy options and even smoothies looked very healthy too.<br/>As a Cafe owner, I hate how a lot of the cafes these days just concentrate on presentation of their dish and donā€™t much of consider other factors such as taste, balance and even nutrition. <br/>Major sprout seemed like they had a lot of thought coming up with their unique menu and I have learnt a lot from them.<br/>Charcoal coating on fish burger was amazing, salad was packed with different taste and texture it was really really well balanced. <br/><br/>I would totally visit Major Sprout everyday and try all their menu if they had parking spaces >.><br/>

Ordered skin snapper and noodles with chicken. Hands down my favourite brunch place and not afraid to recommend to everyone I know! Service is always friendly and the food is always great. My tip would be to get the eggs bene and the pancakes and share with someone so you can get a taste of the savoury and sweet!

Amazing menu, great service and even better food. <br/>Thereā€™s a massive variety of food to choose from, plus amazing smoothies. Staff are very polite and welcoming

This place is very rustic which gives a nostalgic feel to it. The food is a good throwaway from the standard brunch menus across Auckland with fresh and colourful dishes on the menu. The food was brought out quickly too. Great place to have a solid brunch after a workout!
Cynye Chan
One of my favourite coffee in Auckland. They serve special creamy mushroom and Okonomiyaki Japanese Pancake. Worth a try ! Will definitely be back therešŸ˜Š

Super busy Sunday, food was slightly under flavoured for our liking but still worth a visit! Staff were friendly even though they were run off their feet.
Clarice Natasha
Would really recommend this brunch place if youā€™re willing to walk a bit for it. <br/>I ordered the Crunchy Gentleman, which is two very soft, amazing toast with ham, eggs and some sweet onion relish and hummus. They have the perfect taste balance.<br/>I also had the Buttermilk Pancakes, theyā€™re very thick and surprisingly doesnā€™t make you feel sick even if you eat the whole plate. It also look very pretty.<br/>The ice mocha is also very nice, not watered down, not too sweet and not too bitter. Great for the sunny day.<br/>Staffs are great and friendly, they keep topping up our water frequently and paid close attention to the customers<br/>Overall :<br/>- Service 5/5<br/>- ambience 5/5<br/>- food 4.5/5

Great services, staff and tasty food! Thoroughly enjoyed our snapper, burger and super smoothie! Highly recommended but the cafe does get busy around lunchtime so recommend you get there early!
Ying
Such a busy cafe, you never feel like your being served right. Staff members miss order, over charged us with ā€œextra eggā€ when I only asked to change my poached eggs to scramble (didnt get two portion of the eggs or have been notified that my dish would get + charge to change my eggs). Not so friendly either. So I wouldnā€™t go back
Alyse Seekup
Second time we have been because we loved it the first time (good food and amazing service). Unfortunately this time around the service was okay but the food wasn't the greatest. Had the Souvlaki which was a bit boring and small and the beef cheek croquette which was nice but the crusting on the croquette was really sweet and didn't mix well with the rest of the meal. I dont know if I would say I would never go back because I am keen to go back and try for another experience like the first!!
Karen
I tell everyone that this place does the best pancakes ever and it really does!! So nice and fluffy! Their coffee is also strong and really gives you a good morning kick!

Very nice food, perfectly sized potions. Wonderful mocktails.<br/>It took so long to wait for food after order on a weekday afternoon.<br/>Wait was worth it as Food was beautiful and tasty.<br/>Enjoyed my meal from first bite until last. That's really a great experience.

Went here for saturday late lunch with Denny Setiawan and tried or zomato gold experience for 1+1 food.. i ordered mushroom fettucini and unwrapped souvlaki for Denny.. also we tried the sprouting green smoothies.. foods and drink are nice, the place is spacious and cozy.. but itā€™s quite hot during sunny day when u sitting indoor

As a returning customer, I felt the portion of food was less than before I used zomato gold. A little upset with this.. <br/>The presentation of the food was pleasing. Their coffee is highly recommended. The salmon tasted fresh. The avocados were smooth (lots of avo which I love) The snapper burger was soft and tasted okay. It didnā€™t feel fresh and the batter tasted a little runny.

This cafe is popular in the city center of Auckland. Last time I came to this cafe at around 1pm. It is not very busy. I ordered a pancake and berry smoothie from this cafe. Both of them are tasty. The food presentation is nice as well. Highly recommend.
Hyunyi
Bad customer service, it's been 30mins and we still have not been served and when we were sat down by the staff we weren't given menus not for the next 10mins. Obviously the owner doesn't plan on hiring any more staffs. And the food takes 40mins to arrive and to my surprise the food is only average. Not sure about the rating.
Hue Bullen
I'm not normally a Benedict fan but the green eggs Benedict was amazing. Coffee was great as well. Loved the ambiance. Will certainly be back to try the other dishes.
Michael Bullen
Had been wanting to come here for ages. Had heard really good things and was not disappointed. Beautiful food, top notch coffee in a cool but not pretentious environment. Will be back!

Tried this out as it was on Zomato Gold, the service was excellent and the snapper so delicious. Beautifully presented. Did have a scale and two bones in my fish. Jus note there is no car park for customers just off road.
Bonnie Hu
Atmosphere is stunning, food presentation is perfect! Service is okay but had to wait for quite a while for the food. The snapper was absolutely amazing, fish was so well cooked and the purĆ©e was very tasty. Pancake is very presentable but a bit too sickly sweet, and is very pricey if you add both ice cream and the pancetta ($28 for pancake is a bit outrageous, shouldnā€™t these ingredients usually come with it already?) Would be back to get the snapper and again and try more savoury dishes!

I chose to go to Major Sprout because it was part of the gold member scheme. However, the staff declined my gold membership saying there was three people on the table so two people needed membership which i got confirmation from zomato gold later on that it was wrong and that i should have been able to redeem it. So yeah pretty annoyed that the staff wasnā€™t well aware of the terms of the gold membership. Other than that food wasnā€™t bad except the cold brew was too sour. Just ticked off that I couldnā€™t redeem it!

Came here for Sunday brunch and they were really busy! <br/>Service was normal and they were busy so I canā€™t really say anything else about it. <br/>Good job to the staff who worked therešŸ‘šŸ»<br/><br/>The food on the other hand was underwhelming. <br/>We got the eggs benny and their famous pancakes.<br/> <br/>Eggs benny - the green sauce was bland probably needed a bit more salt and they barely give you any Salmon. Two tiny pieces:( <br/>The hash cake was good! <br/><br/>Pancakes - looks pretty but itā€™s soooo sweet. Too sweet. I love sweet things but this was a no for me. The cotton candy is ok like itā€™s why people get it but all the other stuff on it is kinda unnecessary. I think the mouse is nice but probably donā€™t need the butter thing on top and if you add the syrup itā€™s just overload. If you want something similar go to Fed Deli and get their pancakes. Itā€™s sweet but not over the top. <br/><br/>Overall it was an okay experience. It wasnā€™t bad and maybe the other stuff on the menu is really good. I really liked the ambiance but a shame the food wasnā€™t to my liking! Maybe Iā€™d come back and try something else šŸ„°
TY
We had buttermilk pancakes and open souvlaki<br/><br/>Pros šŸ‘<br/>* Food well priced<br/>* Nice atmosphere - very bright<br/>* Food was plated very nicely<br/>* Souvlaki had nice balance of flavours and delicious lamb<br/><br/>Cons šŸ‘Ž<br/>* Pancakes both worse than expected and worse than how they looked, overly sweet with not much other flavour<br/>

With 4.7 rating(now 4.6) was looking forward to dining here. The presentation and taste of the food was very good, abit expensive tho, what let it down was the very slow service and lack of, 1 servers running the food for a restaurant that's 2/3 full is a joke. Waited a good 40 mins for our 2 meals(drinks came in the first few minutes). The steak sandwich was missing the tempura onion, ask the waitress if it was suppose to come with the meal, she said yes, and she would check with the kitchen, never found out what happened to them, until I went to pay and asked her again, apparently they runout??
Sol
Been waiting here for 30 mins, I understand that it can busy, however we haven't even been offered water to drink. The customer service is poor and I wouldn't recommend.
Tony Shi
Had high expectations for Major Sprout based on the high Zomato rating but it has been quite a let down.<br/>The service was incredibly slow and we waited for 45 mins before our food and drinks were served.<br/>For the price of the snapper and burger, the portion sizes were underwhelming, hardly enough to feel full on. Flavours were ok but I wouldn't say they were amazing.<br/>Overall a disappointing experience. If the portions were a little bigger and the service quicker I would've given a 4/5 instead.
Alex O'Rourke
I have always loved Major Sprout and found it hard to dine else where because the food is so good. However, yesterday I ordered an aƧaĆ bowl and the consistency was watery. It seemed as though they had used far too much ice which makes the meal seem budget. The service was average too which was surprising because usually they are so good. The staff hardly served us water and didnā€™t check to see how our food was going. This was really annoying because I have always been so satisfied with my food here
Lily
Major sprout has cool cafe vibes, there eggs Benedict is one of the best dishes and the polenta fries are a definite must each time I visit :)
Cushla Foley
Book ahead as this is a popular cafe, never a long wait though. Staff are friendly and food is top notch! Bonus is they have high chairs. Iā€™ve come here a few times over the years and they are always updating the menu with new interesting combinations and keeping the favs! Today I had the mushrooms and added a Potato Rosti! Delicious! And if you like coffee they use Flight Beans.

Food is good but service took so long. My friend and I wait over an hour for our meals to be served. We went around 1pm which is maybe their peak/busy period and our food ended up being served after 2pm.

Food is presented really well and tastes fresh. No complaints.<br/><br/>Was recommended this place by a friend who said the juices are amazing so made sure to get one. The cranberry, lime and pink grapefruit juice was really refreshing and well worth it.

5 star for the amazing Acai Bowl! HUGE portion filled with yummy & nutritious goodies. Great for summer or anytime you want to feel healthy.

Delicious Sunday brunch at Major Sprout! Amazing service and top notch food! Loved the ambience and buzz of the place. Used Zomato Gold which was an added bonus šŸ’„
Sonia Patel
Amazing , healthy and tasty food ! 4 of us went and had their crispy snapper , quinoa bowl and sous vide chicken . All dishes cooked to perfection and yummy ! Definitely be back again :)
Lucy
Lovely environment with a quite atmosphere, a good variety of food and beverages. Reasonably priced for the quality youā€™re receiving. Highly recommend their mango bowl, acai bowl and smoothies. The bowls are fruitful and had just the right amount of sweetness. The snapper burger was delicious, but the panfried snapper was slightly over cooked. Their sweet food are definitely better than the savory. The savory food are a bit dull in flavors.<br/><br/>Would definitely revisit for their sweet dishes.<br/><br/>Food: 7/10<br/>Food presentation: 10/10<br/>Service: 7/10<br/>Location: 7/10<br/>Ambience: 8/10<br/>Price $25 per person

Went there using zomato gold membership. Food was not bad but I just couldn't get over the forks on our table that were not washed properly and the toilet was pretty messy.

the pork belly was a bit dry and tough to chew but it had a great flavor. the kimchi sauce was amazing. wish there were more of it. <br/><br/>all in all, good food, great ambiance. a nice brunch place although it is more on the pricey side.

Had a welcome back lunch at Major Sprout with my colleagues earlier in the week. I had major food envy with their food!<br/>šŸŸPanfried crispy skin Snapper with cauliflower puree, herbed lentils, smoked kahawai croquette, harissa oil<br/>šŸŒÆUnwrapped souvlaki with pulled braised lamb, dukkah egg scramble, pita bread, mint tzatziki, pickled onion and almond hummus.<br/>šŸ„ŖšŸŸ steak with onion tempura, sourdough horseradish, Parmesan and agria chips.<br/>My fav was the fish as the skin was truly crispy and the flavours were bright and fresh. Did not realise there were scramble eggs in the souvlaki and that was creamy and delish. They can get quite busy at lunch, so get yourselves there nice and early before 12pm is my advice.<br/>.<br/>.<br/>.<br/>#souvlaki #steaksandwich #crispyskin

Came in today for lunch with friends. I ordered the herbed broken eggs and my friends ordered the wild mushroom fettuccine and the 'unwrapped' souvlaki. The herbed broken eggs had very well flavoured asparagus. It was grilled to perfection. Freedom loaf that it was served on tasted a bit too 'healthy' for my liking. The wild mushroom fettuccine had really creamy sauce which made the pasta taste delicious. I also really liked the agria chips in the 'unwrapped' souvlaki. It wasn't too fried but it still had that crispy outer layer. The environment was kind of loud and food took a while to come out but the staff were friendly and food was good.
Selina
I had high expectations when I came to this cafe as it had a 4.7 super high score. Turns out average and below my expectations. The crispy snapper was good but quite small in portion. The strawberry and cream actually tastes like banana and coconut, I am not able to find any taste of strawberry, but still tastes nice though. My husband said his coffee was so so. It was quite buzy on a Saturday morning, but I still don't think watching a few staff walking pass totally ignoring us at the door way, approaching the dishes clean up instead of addressing us first is acceptable. So that had a bad first impression and lowered my score from 4 to 3.

Came to Major Sprout for a Sunday brunch. <br/>They have a small outside area which makes it dog friendly. Our main waitress was friendly and welcoming. <br/>* Green tea noodle salad is YUM ! The dish is relatively light but definitely packs in the flavour. <br/><br/>* Steak sandwich is definitely a meal for the blokes. Deep fried onion rings and a lot of melted cheese on top of the Med- rare steak. <br/><br/>* Blueberry and basil smoothie was top notch and refreshing. Swapped out apple juice for pineapple juice. The sweetness of basil was the gold star. <br/><br/>Apart for the delay in food, overall was an awesome food experience.
David Kim
We had Creamy Mushrooms, Eggs Benedict, and Major Salad. Overall, food was great but the music was too loud. Smoothie was nice but the flat white tasted burnt so that I couldn't finish it. Considering that they have a great coffee machine, it wasn't any close to the expectations.
Melwyn Pereira
With prices like these, good service must be baked in. Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience.<br/><br/>We were told the kitchen couldn't keep up with the current orders so it'd be best if we came back in 10-15 minutes. However, the 2 girls behind us were seated immediately. When we came back, we saw no one else's name on the wait list but ours. A different staff told us again that they couldn't accommodate us now. On explaining that we had already put our names on the wait list a while ago, she reluctantly seated us.<br/><br/>The slow service didn't really bother us but throughout our meal no one offered a refill on the water. We had got a peanut butter smoothie, okonomiyaki and the sous vide chicken. The chicken itself was a bit tough but otherwise the food is undoubtedly well made but nothing spectacular.<br/><br/>When we came to pay, the same guy who had told us away processed the payment. He didn't care about our meal or experience and rolled his eyes throughout. We've been to several hundred food places in Auckland but this is the only time we felt unwanted. Not even Dominion road joints have such discriminatory service.

Really nice cafe with pretty food and drinks. Staffs were super friendly and helpful. Only hard thing was find car park. Love the pancake best

Visit this place soooo often, itā€™s THAT good. Space is really chic and cool, staff are awesome and the food (pancakes people, get the pancakes), hands down, makes brunch magical!

Amazing place! The ambience, food and coffee are all 10/10!!! The service was the perfect balance of attentiveness and giving people their own space.

A lively and bubbly atmosphere! Staff were friendly and service was great. Clean bathrooms too. However, the only bad thing was that our food took a while to prepare, but it was understandable due to how busy the place was. Would love to come here again though!

Amazing ambience and the food was good too. I liked the pancakes but theyā€™re a little bit thicker than usual so I got so full really fast and couldnā€™t finish it. It also kind of the food youā€™d easily get tired of while youā€™re eating because it makes you full and since itā€™s a sweet meal it will make you want something savoury instead. Would love to try their big breakfasts next time! The ice coffee was good as well!
Dani
Love the vibe, decor and overall atmosphere of this place. My friend ordered the Quinoa Vegan Bowl which was nicely presented. Ordered the Charcoal Snapper burger which was super delicious and filling. A really nice place to come for more healthier options would highly recommend this place, especially for vegetarians as they offer many options that cater to non-meat eaters.Ā  Overall, such authentic and well-presented food and great customer service. Would definitely happily and easily return.

I remember first going to Major Sprout when it opened up and loving everything about it, decor was fresh, food was brilliant, coffee was delicious, and the staff were super nice. Not much has changed about how I feel about this place today.<br/><br/>They are still offering up some of the best Korean fusion cafe dining food you can find in Auckland, this is pretty much where it started.<br/><br/>From the Okonomiyaki to the more traditional Major Sprout styled big breakfast, everything is super full of flavour, and it's very pleasant to sit inside and have a meal because the decor is just as enjoyable as their food.<br/><br/>While this is an oldie, it's definitely a goodie.

Amazing Food!! Service is 10/10. Very friendly staff.<br/>I had the coconut mango bowl n it was super tasty<br/>I will definitely come back again to try different food from the menu (;

Decided to do Sunday breakfast in the city for a change which was great. Auckland weather was smiling on us and we had a great drive in and out of the city.<br/><br/>Cafe had more people then I expected for 08:30 but we were seated easily by our very charismatic host. He was definitely a big part of the great morning breakfast.<br/><br/>I started with a Mocha Maca Superfood smoothie which was AWESOME! Others at the table all had coffees which went down a treat. There was also a cold pressed juice (apple, pineapple, mint and cucumber) think mojito without the alcohol. It was super refreshing and highly recommended.<br/><br/>Mixture of food at the table, highlight the KFC (Korean fried chicken) yes we had it for breakfast and it was awesome!<br/><br/>We will happily return in the future. Visited at brunch time on a Sunday & was surprised at how tactful the staff was. The food took a little longer than expected to arrive but the presentation of the food was fantastic. Except for the coffee which was forgotten, everything was just awesome!

Busy crowd during lunch time, had to queue for awhile but the service team was quick to seat us in and take our orders. However, the food took a long while to come and the coffee orders were left out. Nonetheless, the food was delicious and unique. Will definitely visit this cafe again.

Popped into major sprout for breakfast. Nice little venue and quiet in the morning. The breakfast menu is quit vast but the deconstructed souvlaki caught my eye this is a full on breakfast. Add the avacado!

A great place for healthy food options. Been for lunch and I enjoyed the Meso Rice Bowl with smoked Salmon. The beetroot flavoured rice giveS a very pleasant aroma and taste and the mushrooms add to the flavours. <br/>The food is very well presented and the service is wonderful.
Fitfoodie
Great atmosphere and service. Ordered the mushroom fettuccine however and was a little disappointed with the small portion size, for the price paid it was more like an entree size. The flavour was also quite rich and salty and became a bit too much towards the end. The polenta fries were good.
Charissa
Love the place , the vibe, the customer service and the food! The option of having half egg Benedict made room to try other things on the menu. Highly recommended
Azura Lane
Classy, sophisticated, different. <br/>Been here many times and the standard of service and quality of food never disappoints. But the thing I enjoy most about this eatery is the food combinations, they play with flavours and make food exciting. If youā€™re up for trying something new or sticking to what you love, this is the place.
Ola Al-Hassani
Great food but the service could have been better. They struggle to cope when itā€™s busy in the weekend. It took a while to bring out the menu then bring out water then take orders. Should probably staff more people for busier periods
I_like_pickles
Grabbed some brunch here and was really impressed with the presentation of their food. It was beautifullly plated, vibrant and full of colours.
Chhavi Kohli
An amazing place for breakfast or brunch. I ordered green eggs benedict which was delicious & filling. I like their food, however found it a bit high on pricing. Nice location, good vibes. Service could have been faster/better, the lady sitting on next table was sitting for 10 mins without being attended before she went up to the counter herself.

Amazing service and great food and drink options. Wish they had more cabinet food as Iā€™m not always in the mood to spend $20+ on a coffee and meal

This place has a great vibrant set up, a Street side view and comfortable seating arrangements which vary on the vaioys wavelengths; from bar stools to sofas. The staff here is friendly and it's always a delight to be here. The buttermilk pancakes and the peanut butter smoothie are the favourites here.

Came here with two of my girlfriends and we had an amazing experience!! Food was delicious, the only reason I didnā€™t give 5 stars was that it was a weeee but pricey, but the environment was awesome and staff were friendly and helpful

Decided to come to Major Sprout for brunch on a miserable Saturday morning. The service was quick and efficient - food and drinks arrived in a timely manner despite it being super busy. The pancakes were lovely - fluffy and sweet. But due to the hype, I had high expectations and the pancakes didnā€™t quite meet my expectations. In saying that, I loved the cotton candy and overall texture of the dish. Will be back to try the famous aƧai bowl.
Vy Nguyen
Lovely staff, welcoming atmosphere and scrumptious yet satisfying food. My friends and I came from Melbourne to Auckland for a holiday and Major Sprout has honestly been the best brunch experience we've had. The okonomiyaki was large in portion and was a bang for your buck. The different textures in the japanese pancake made it less sickening considering the large size, and the smoky bonito flakes paired well with the sauce. My only peeve was the lack of freshness in the dish to cut through the oiliness but that's just a personal preference.<br/>The waiter who served us our dishes and tended the counter was approachable and had superb customer service. We left with our cravings satisfied and a experience that we could say was better than the majority of the Melbourne food scene.

I was in a mood for brunch yesterday and has been visited Major Sprout couple of times before. First, the cafe was pretty busy when I arrived and I picked the seat by the window as usual. The service was really good, the waiter always checked on me and make sure everything was good. I ordered Green Egg Benedict, and my eggs were perfectly poached. The ambience was vibrant and fresh! Always been one of my favourite cafe.<br/><br/>Service: 4.5/5<br/>Food: 4.5/5<br/>Ambience: 4/5

Finally got a chance to try this cafe :) itā€™s really cosy and I love the simple interior.<br/>Ordered creamy mushroom but it wasnā€™t as creamy as I expected :/ sourdough was nice tho<br/>Itā€™s also on the pricey side with a small serving

It is our first time at Major Sprout and we will definitely come back again. We ordered the buttermilk pancakes and crushed gentleman (pictured) for breakfast. The presentation of the dishes were beautiful and the breakfast was very tasty! The peanut buttercup smoothie was amazing but just slightly a bit too rich for us. I had a coconut chai tea by storm and India, and it tasted great with my meal. Next time we will try those more Asian influenced dishes as they sound interestingly good.

Busy cafe on Graham Street that is proven to be a favourite for work breakfast and lunches during a week and a brunch hotspot over the weekend. I love the clean and simple interior design as well as the relaxing vibes here. Favourite dishes would have to be the Acai bowl and their green spinach eggs benny! Ordered eggs on toast with added spinaches this morning for a change and it was equally delicious! They also do a variety of cabinet treats that are raw and vegan friendly- strongly recommend the raw snickers bar

Have visited Major Sprout a few times and loved it! I ordered the the Half Eggs Benedict with Pancetta because I love how Smokey and thin the Pancetta is! Not a big fan of the thick cut bacon so this is a great substitute. Potato rosti is always super crispy. Ambience is beautiful, will be back soon.

this place has got to be the sleekest cafe i have ever stepped foot in! came here on a saturday, bang on the lunch rush but were still seated quickly and greeted with top notch service šŸ˜Š i ended up choosing the aƧai bowl which was light and refreshing but packed a decent punch with a generous portion of granola. my whole fam<br/>left feeling super satisfied so what more could ya ask for?

This place is very modern, clean, spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would describe the food as modern staples with a (big) twist. <br/>I really enjoyed the food and thought it was executed very well. <br/>I did have a coconut/coffee smoothie but my tummy didnā€™t like that one - could be a personal diet thing though.

Fantastic Crispy Chicken Burger and Green Eggs Benedict. Great coffee too. Come here if you want something different from your usual cafe brunch. Looking forward to our visit already!

Busy on a weekend but good atmosphere with a little buzz.<br/><br/>Menu was interesting and we went for a healthy option though this place caters to all.<br/><br/>AƧai bowls were a little thinner than Iā€™m used to but tasted great! <br/><br/>Green smoothie was not blended properly so not a 5star from me... but I will head back to try more options!<br/>

Iā€™ve been to Major Sprout a couple of times now. Had the aƧai bowl today which was beautifully presented (as all their dishes looked to be). The nut crunch and variety of fresh fruit was really good, I would say the consistency of the aƧai itself was a little on the liquidy side though and not really much of it. I tried my friendā€™s green smoothie, tasted healthy - nice but not too sweet, however lots of little lumps of mango in it. Last time I came I had the summer salad with salmon - really good and definitely recommend it for a fresh, tasty, healthy option. There are lots of different and interesting sounding dishes on the menu compared to your usual standard cafe fare. Look forward to trying more out!

Fantastic food, instagram worthy, efficient service. Delicious food, Rosti was crispy and bacon. The green Hollandaise complimented the bacon and rosti.

Had one of the best iced mochas there! Also the AƧaƭ Bowl was super delicious and pretty. Would love to go back and try some of their other food as well.

Itā€™s been a few years since I was at Major Sprout but the decor hasnā€™t aged. The autumn salad was a delicious post workout meal - the right mix of tangy and sweet with the most delicious poached lemon. The coffee was excellent. My boyfriend had a peanut butter cup smoothie and the salmon taco. He said it was all tasty but the taco was a little too crunchy causing the filling to ooze out which made it tricky to eat. It is a noisy cafe, which I remember from last time, but overall, would happily go back

Setting was simple but comfortable. Food was amazing, highly recommend the sushi taco and creamy mushrooms! Vastly unique dishes, presented attractively and tastes incredible. I have concluded this would be one of my regular go-to spots. <br/><br/>Extensive menu, lots to choose from and different varieties, and so far everything has been tasty, can not wait to try more of their menu!<br/><br/>The smoothies are delicious! Even the ā€œsprouting green,ā€ which sounded heavily healthy was a delight. <br/>Food was served quickly, but could also be I went on less busy hours. <br/><br/>Solid 10/10. <br/>

Great cafe and lovely service. We ordered the acai bowl and some scrambled eggs and sausages. Acai bowl was lovely. Scrambled eggs were good but too runny for our liking, sausage was tasty. Will be back to try other things.

So pleased we discovered Major Sprout! We visited for brunch and were not disappointed. The creamy mushrooms, prawn & chorizo fettuccine and kids pancakes were all delightful. Can highly recommend this place for the delicious food, wonderful service and lovely ambiance. Will definitely be back.

The food was good and tasty and the service was quite fast and good. However, thereā€™s a major horrifying problem. There are car parks our there in front of the restaurant which are tow away. The tow away signs are blinded and easily ignored by the huge Lease sign out in front. So I missed it and my car got towed and I ended up paying 285 dollars for the nice SuperCity towing service. I was shocked to learn that the restaurant staff were so accustomed to this towing issue by saying: yes it has happened to others as well. So, the problem is frequent. It would have been nice if the restaurant put an obvious warning sign at the front door or anywhere else to avoid such issues, and to let their customers know. Overall, a disappointing experience.

I seriously recommend there steak sandwich I always go there for that, but I also tried there Bibimpad and this dish is so good, love kimich and so they give you a perfectly poached egg that you mix with the rice and other vegs and sauces, this dish is so good and big I couldn't finish it even though I wanted to.

We came as a big group, food were consistently good and very well presented. Service was good and the food came out in good order. I also like the portion size and most of us were super full. Would definitely come back.

Wanted to visit Major Sprout after seeing pics of the famous AƧai bowl. The ambience is nice with a simple and minimalist theme. Definitely a place for brunch dates and nice Instagram photos. The fruits were absolutely fresh and delicious, however it wouldā€™ve been better with more granola. Surprisingly both aƧai bowl and summer fruits were very filling! Certainly great for breakfast/brunch. I would give service a 3/5. One particular waitress came off quite rude and snobby. Took about 20 minutes for someone to take our order. The rest of the workers there were lovely though.

Visiting some work colleagues at NZME, Iā€™ve had my eyes on Major Sprout for a while now and was stoked to finally be dining in at this Korean-fusion establishment. Entering Major Sprout you immediately notice how clean and green the area was, it's relaxing but slightly corporately.Ā <br/><br/>I was feeling particularly hungry so rather be capricious while going through the menu, I asked the waiter for the most filling meal while my buddy had the green eggs benedict. As many of my reviewers would know, I am especially fond of meals that are aesthetically pleasing.Ā <br/><br/>So full credit to the team at Major Sprout for there fastidious plating and cooking of their food. My meal took a monstrous effort for me to finish and I enjoyed every bite that I had. The pork belly had a crunchy cracking and soft, succulent pork meat which went surprisingly well with egg yolk and toasts. The hash was was another flavor due to crunchy but soft texture inside, overall just a great meal and one I would highly recommend. A surprising delight was the baked beans, the sauce was flavorsome and a little sweet which went down great with the pork.Ā <br/><br/>My colleague was intrigued by the green hollandaise sauce but still thoroughly enjoyed his meal, he did really enjoy his spirulina. Just a fantastic brunch venue in the CBD, for all those working near the area this is one brunch place you donā€™t want to miss!<br/><br/>Showstopper: Pretty much the complete package here, great food, superb service, clean and cheerful layout and doing brunch with a twist.<br/><br/>Overall Grade: A+
Jenna
The food is very instagram worthy. But let down by the actual quality & taste.<br/><br/>The peanut butter smoothie was way too sweet. I couldn't even finish mine even though I commented how small the glass was for a $9 smoothie when it was first brought out.<br/><br/>The green eggs are way overpriced at $21. The hash Browns were over done in the deep fryer - pretty much inedible as they were so hard I finally managed to break one apart with my cutlery & it shot across the table & landed with green muck all over my top. Couldn't eat either of them. Nor the "bacon" which was thick slabs of fatty ham. So ended up paying $21 for two poached eggs with half a handful of spinach which were the only edible things on the plate. When I told the staff they were apologetic but did not offer any discount. Wouldn't return.

I had a perfectly made long black along with some creamy mushrooms on toast (plus a side of bacon). Everything was delicious and looked great. My only issue was not having enough bread to clear up the last of the delicious sauce.
Mashee
Beautifully presented food in a stylish setting. We came here for brunch and the service was good and the food didnā€™t take long to arrive. The eggs benedict and broken eggs were well presented but the flavours were not up to the same standard. A bit of style over substance but overall a good experience.

Tucked away off Victoria St in the City, Major Sprout has a reasonably sized location which is light & bright with indoor/outdoor seating.<br/>They have table service which is friendly & efficient.<br/>Ordered the buttermilk pancakes with pancetta which was well balanced & not too sweet which they serve with Noble maple syrup.<br/>Coffee was well made too.<br/>A person at the table next door ordered the big breakfast which looked amazing - bacon & pork belly included!<br/>Looking forward to visiting again & trying more of the menu - some of the lunch options look delish!

This was a bit confusing to find. However, Amazing food and environment, I tried the pancakes with cotton candy! Amazing combination, with unique, delicious maple syrup! :0

It was a long journey for finding this hidden gem in victoria street. Loved the garden look of this cafe but was a full house. The staff here was friendly and kind. I loved the coffee very smooth and creamy. The pancake here is heaven they are great for sweettooth people out there.<br/>The beef burger and sweet kumera chips were also amazing.

Came here on a Tuesday for lunch with a friend. The interior is very spacious and lively with friendly staffs. Between us we got the sous vide chicken, green tea noodle salad, and very berry as drink.<br/><br/>The chicken dish was very distinct in flavor and is probably one of the nicely cooked cafe chicken dishes Iā€™ve had. The chicken wasnā€™t dry and hard and was tender and moist. The hummus contained a sour flavor which lifted the chickenā€™s taste up, but perhaps a bit too much because the other ingredients were a bit sour too. In terms of the portion, it was a bit too little for its price. <br/><br/>The green tea noodle salad with cured salmon tasted a lot better and is a perfect dish for the hot summer. Itā€™s a cold dish with sweet chewy green tea flavored noodles as the texture is just right. The ginger and salmon adds the extra touch of flavor and a little creaminess into the noodles. <br/><br/>The very berry drink was surprising as well as I didnā€™t expect theyā€™d use dried berries, but it was a good choice of topping. Itā€™s exactly what youā€™d expect a good berry smoothie would taste like with a little towards the mixture of strawberry and apple flavor.<br/><br/>Taste - 9/10<br/>Size - 8/10<br/>Price - 8/10<br/>Service - 7/10<br/>

We came here for brunch on the weekend, ordered their green eggs benedict, buttermilk pancakes, omelettes and fish and chips. Their food are indeed insta-worthy, was satisfied with their eggs benedict. It did taste healthy (spinach) but the bacon and potato rosti balances it out. My friend liked her pancakes but just a little tad too sweet for her. Omelette was awesome and fish and chips came with generous portions. The only thing that we can point out is the fries get soggy really quick. Waitress recommend the creamy mushroom and sait it was her fav dish, so I might try it next time.

The decoration here is so fresh and eye-catching. Came here for a brunch and the food was delicious. I love the vibe here. Will come back for more

Been here a couple times. Ordered the big fill, creamy mushroom and the galbi burger on separate occasions.<br/><br/>Out of all of them, the creamy mushroom would be my favourite. The galbi burger was pretty good but the type of bun used makes it a little too dry.
Jessica Li
Such a cute place for brunch! The decor inside was so simple but stylish! I got the mocha smoothie and my friend got the peanut butter cup smoothie and they both tasted amazing! They were both so rich and creamy šŸ˜‹ the food wasnā€™t too bad either , I got the galbi burger which tasted delicious but I thought the patty was a little dry, otherwise faultless!

Busy place on the weekends. Friend and I had the smoothie and acai bowl. Smoothie was very nice and refreshing, the acai bowl toppings were beautiful. The acai bowl base itself was bland like most around town.

Taste: šŸŒ•šŸŒ•šŸŒ•šŸŒ‘šŸŒ‘<br/>Interior Deco: šŸŒ•šŸŒ•šŸŒ•šŸŒ•šŸŒ—<br/>Customer service: šŸŒ•šŸŒ•šŸŒ•šŸŒ•šŸŒ•<br/>Recommend: šŸŒ•šŸŒ•šŸŒ•šŸŒ‘šŸŒ‘<br/>It's a solid 10/10 for their services as well as the appearance of the foods but the taste wasn't really suit my taste as I found it almost too sour for me to eat. But it's personal preference maybe as my friend tried mine and she liked it!
Nikki Arns
Been here about 3 times now. The first time it was alright the service fine and food ok. The second time the service was awful, took 20 minutes to be served and the food was very average. Very expensive menu. I don't mind splurging when I go out but paying 18$ for an average omelette is ridiculous. After the average meal and average service I said I wouldn't go back. Unfortunately my friend decided to have a birthday lunch there. After knowing how the food was I just ordered a coffee. Took 30 minutes for a coffee to arrive and it was lukewarm. Really gone downhill
Leonie An
Today, I was passing by and decided to have a quick lunch here. I got welcomed immediately and offered a glass of sparkling water. All waitress and waiters are attentive and friendly. As soon as I put down the menu and ready to order, they took notice .I had the green egg Benedict it was delicious will definitely come here again

The first time we had lunch at Major Sprout we were impressed by their foods and drinks (see photos taken earlier). When our friends from overseas came to NZ, they also chose Major Sprout out of the list of restaurants we recommended. We were glad they made the right choice. The second time we visited, their foods were still pretty delicious but we felt that both the presentation and quality had declined: the chunky kumara skins became thinly sliced chips with little "skin", bread was burnt, and the sauce of the creamy mushroom was not creamy at all but dark, sticky and looked unappetizing. Overall the servers were very nice and helpful, and we had a pleasant time catching up with friends there.
Dxlche
We ordered two eggs benedict with salmon and one broken eggs with broccolini. The taste didn't blow my mind but it was still good cafe food. <br/>When the plates came to the table they looked beautiful and all the green makes it look very healthy.<br/>The runny eggs were lovely and everything blended together nicely. <br/>My friends said their eggs benedict was a bit bland and not as good as other places. <br/>The prices are around the same as other cafes with the broken eggs being $17. <br/>The service was good and the food came out pretty fast which is always a bonus when you are hungry. It wasn't too busy when we went so we got a table straight away. We did go pretty early, at around 11:30am. <br/>Overall I would recommend giving this place a try.

Heard a little too many good things about this cafe so my friends and I decided to try it out ourselves. Keeping in mind we had a lot of expectations and we weren't disappointed! The place itself was very contemporary themed full of plants and great lighting for photos which was a plus point!<br/><br/>I ordered the green eggs benedict with salmon and it was my first time trying eggs benedict and it was VERY filling. I overestimated my appetite so didn't end up finishing the entire thing mainly because I decided I'm not a big fan of semi cooked eggs but everything else on the plate was delicious and presentation was very VERY impressive!<br/><br/>My friend ordered a beetroot latte which was something she was sceptical about since it was a very different and bold choice yet surprisingly she enjoyed it. I had a bite of the pancakes with candy floss and potato rosti which was out of this world! It was very fluffy and there were so many elements on the plate. I had a little moment of regret not getting the pancakes but nonetheless it was a good meal and definitely won't be the last time eating at this place! The chai latte I ordered was the just way I like it and overall I can say it was well worth the visit!

Came here on Tuesday midday. This is a hidden gem. The interiors is intricately decorated with wooden furniture, plants hanging from the ceiling.<br/>We got the Sous Vide Chicken, Buttermilk Pancakes, Steak Burgers and a hazelnut baby cake. <br/>The presentation to begin with was beautiful, definitely gram-worthy. The chicken was tender and the textures of the couscous and cauliflower and purƩe complimented each other really well. I devoured it within minutes. Lacked a bit of seasoning but thankfully there was salt and pepper on every table. <br/>The pancakes and burgers looked amazing as well. <br/>The hazelnut cake was a leftover from a few days ago--stale, dry and the hazelnuts at the top were already off-tasting. Mildly bitter. <br/><br/>The service was a bit iffy; I was waiting at the counter to get a cabinet cake and was pretty much ignored for a solid 2 minutes...even though the owner was right there and pretended to not have seen me. <br/><br/>Overall it was decent but certain details were kind of disappointing.<br/><br/>Price: 8/10<br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Ambience: 10/10<br/>Service: 6/10

Pretty underwhelming unfortunately. Ordered the big breakfast and chicken wings - almost everything on the big breakfast was bland and dry. Eggs were cold and beans were scorching, almost as if some stuff was microwaved? Flat white I ordered was lukewarm and so small. Volume of blenders and coffee machines make it a loud ambient noise, too. When paying I wasn't asked how anything was, either. Wait-staff were friendly though. Probably won't return unfortunately.
Gorgeous_mojo
A great place to go when you're craving brunch!<br/>We ordered salmon eggs benedict with kale and big breakfast, after waiting nearly 25 mins our order end up being served with bacon instead of salmon on eggs benedict. Staff change it straight away no fuzz and give us a complimentary coffee for their mistakes such unexpected gesture for them to make! Their lemon cheesecake is definitely yum not overpowering with citrus but still with a tanginess of flavour āœ… I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nice brunch. It can be busy on weekend and the decor is a mix of rustic and modern minimalist.

Love this place! Great service and food are delicious! The only thing is food is a bit slow but it is nice if you just want to have a chill day with friends and family. <br/><br/>i went there twice on Sundays, free parking on street parking on Sundays. Both time i have waited a bit for a table. Food are amazing, we ordered buttermilk pancake, omelette, steak sandwich and fried chicken for our two visits. We all enjoyed our food, the only thing i have noticed is the fried chicken we have ordered from second visit looks a bit different from the previous one (as you can see from the pictures). love the dark version of the fried chicken tho. <br/><br/>overall I really enjoy the food, environment and most importantly the Service! Well done team šŸ˜Š

Such a healthy place I felt guilty walking in here. <br/>Food decoration 5/5<br/>Taste 4/5<br/>Atmosphere 4/5<br/>Price 3/5<br/><br/>What a great selections on menu and the food on the table just looks like a piece of art. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and most of the combination are very good for you health. Another proof is half of the restaurant are full with people from the gym. To a meat lover like me, the taste has something missing. It's also a bit pricey and very very busy at the weekend.
Jasveen Kaur
Amazing. Love the fact that they had a half portion for the eggs benny as I have had stomach surgery and hate that portions are way too big for me now. Lovely coffee. Tasty green hollandaise. Love.
Foodiejuly
Nice presentation in food, good atmosphere, taste could be improved but overall pretty satisfied. <br/><br/>Would recommend to friends. They are pretty busy during weekends so service is more slow but staff are pretty helpful and friendly.

I've been here so many times i can't even count. Service is always top of the line and staff is super friendly. The whole place is bright and spacious, perfect for brunch. <br/><br/>For food, their signatures are the Green Egg Benedict and the Buttermilk pancakes. Their house-cured slab bacon and house-cured salmon are amazing, and you can add it to any savoury dishes. My favourite here are the Green Dumplings and the Creamy Mushrooms, super delicious and beautifully plated. My least favourite are the deconstructed Bibimbap and the Mushrooms & gnocchi dish, very bland and still leave you hungry afterwards. For drinks I love their smoothies, either sprouting green or strawberry cream. <br/><br/>Highly recommended!<br/><br/>10/3/2019 Update: visited MS again and it was a big disappointment. The Green egg benedict was bland and the thick slices of house-cured salmon was replaced by tiny pieces of cooked salmon. Total disaster. The pancakes were too dense and sweet, took 2 cups of water to wash it down.
Stephanie
Well, one of the best cafe in Auckland! I almost tried all the things on their menu and nothing let me down, fast and friendly service! Really like their home make bacon which is the best i found in Auckland so far. the atmosphere is nice too!
Zainab
Major Sprout offers a variety of vegetarian options. Service was efficient despite it being a busy Sunday morning. Generally a pleasant experience.
Moonpieeats
Every time I have visited major sprout they are always so busy and packed! This hidden gem sprouts great aesthetic interior design and is always bright and lively. We ordered a Mocha macca smoothie, mushroom fettuccine, and eggs, bacon, avocado on toast. Everything was delicious, bacon was nice and thick, pasta was freshly made, presentation was great and staff were friendly. There was a bit of a wait for the food, however that's probably because that are so busy! Would recommend this place for a nice Sunday brunch!
Lucyeatsakld
Trendy cafe tucked away in a back street that has some serious street cred as its always buzzing and packed. I had cured salmon with smashed avo on toast with a berry smoothie, both pleasant but nothing you wouldn't find at any upmarket Auckland cafe. Probably not the place to come to in a big group because it does get pretty full and noisy at peak brunch hour but it's a bright and welcoming space with lots of luscious plants and flowers around the place. <br/><br/>Food: 3.5/5<br/>Service: 4/5<br/>Atmosphere: 5/5<br/>Instagrammability: 5/5

great food, coffee and service. kids freidly, located in CBD, little bit hard to find a car park. otherwise everything is perfect. certainly will visit again...

By far the best Acai Bowl in Auckland šŸ™ŒšŸ½ Could go here every single day. Never thought Auckland's brunch game could be so on point šŸ˜‚ They were efficient & friendly. Would 100% recommend!
Amesirv
Awesome place with delicious food! I had the bibimbap which was very yum - a nice take on a classic dish. It's very busy so the cafe can get quite loud inside, but it still has a friendly atmosphere. I also recommend their smoothies for a healthy (but tasty) treat to wake you up!

I dine here twice! One of my favourite spot. I managed to surprised my husband when I brought him here as if i planned everything for a week

Looking for a good pancake place in Auckland so put it into safari, Major Sprout came. So glad we tried have now found our favourite place for breakfast.Awesome customer service and staff, super friendly and humming vibe, and great food, will definitely be back a lot more times.
Hungryfoxbb
Great decor and upbeat atmosphere but there was a long wait till we were served and till we got our food. It was very loud and crowded. Might not be the best place if you prefer calm and quiet places. Very moderately sized foods which were nothing extraordinary. For the same price, I would rather go somewhere else. But pretty good if you are restricted to the city cbd area.

Really friendly service , i had the Green Eggs Benedict: poached eggs, potato rosti, sautĆ©ed spinach with smoked salmon, the dish over all was great, never really liked potato as my base for eggs bennies but this one i actually enjoyed & my friend had the Butter Milk Pancakes: Almond Mascarpone, Butterscotch & Toasted Marshmallow, i tried some of the pancake it was so fluffy yummy. Do recommend both šŸ˜Š

Went there today (for my second visit) and absolutely loved it. Great service, delicious food, and I love that they offer free sparkling water. Last time I got the creamy mushrooms for breakfast which were the perfect hangover cure and today I got the burger which was full of Korean flavours and absolutely delectable. Would highly recommend. Only downside is parking, but you get that with places in town.
SMINT400
Definitely a hidden gem! Good vibe, very friendly staffs. Very refreshing to see the menu differs from other cafes. The choice and variety is excellent. The food is amazing! Would definitely come back.
Justine Weake
Love coming here for breakfast! The acai bowl is so good, and service is very friendly, just one thing that I thought could be improved was with the clearing of the plates - I hadn't finished eating while the other 3 people I was with had, and the waitress took their plates away while I was still eating. Just minor but could be improved because it makes a difference :)
Wapatino
I was very excited to try this place so I'm sad to have to give it a low rating. I was really disappointed by the taste of the food. The ambiance was loud and hot. <br/><br/>We tried the green eggs benedict and the burger. The dishes looked super nice but the flavors were just average.<br/><br/>On a positive note, the service was good!
Rhiannon Sinfield
Major Sprout always serves up a good brunch! I'm a slave to rituals and always find myself ordering the buttermilk pancakes with pancetta - for good reason! Taking on the classic cafe choice, and mixing it up. It's served with all sorts of weird components that actually work. Marshmellows, pancetta, candy floss, mascarpone, hazelnut muesli & maple syrup. And every time it does not fail me. The atmosphere is great as is the service; the only downfall being it's super busy on Sundays and goodluck finding a car park near!
Ellie Liu
OMG great food, super delicious croissant and nice people, waited for about 10 min but it's fine, however a bit noisy and crowded. Overall a brilliant experiencešŸ˜‰
Mindylow_
Best ever pancake in town! Definitely worth a try for this super fluffy buttermilk pancake!šŸ„žšŸ˜‹ Toasted marshamallow was slightly bit too sweet but the sourness of it kind of over the sweetness and their ice cream was super creamy and so rich in vanilla bean flavour yet not feeling sinful ! Overall a big shoutout for their pancake!!! ā™„ļøā™„ļøā™„ļø

Loving their fluffy buttermilk pancakes! So gooood! Nothing sets off my Saturday morning quite like their buttermilk pancakes šŸ„ž w/almond mascarpone, butterscotch, candy floss, šŸ„“, pancetta & toasted marshmallow šŸ¦„šŸšŸ¬So fluffy and soft! #Saturday #MajorSprout #Aucklandeats #EatsinAuckland

Had brunch on a Monday morning, lucky, not busy that no need to wait. A great place, nice ambience, cool bright decor. Lovely service from the attentive staff. The food served quickly, nice presentation. Like the mushrooms, yummy! My husband said the lamb sausage was amazing! A tiny suggestion, if gave enough time for reheating the baked beans, it would be better! I would give another go for trying green eggs benedict.
Annie Zhou
One of the best brunch spots in Auckland for sure and the eating sure proves that. The interior is modern and chic, and the service staff were all so friendly. Food was served very quickly as well- we had kumara skins, kingfish and the halloumi - can't recommend the kumara skins highly enough. Presentation is top notch - will definitely be returning to try out the rest of their menu :)

If you are looking for the perfect inner city breakfastĀ spot, then Major Sprout may just be the best choice. It ticks all the boxes ā€“ delicious food, great coffee andĀ efficient service. Major Sprout is owned by David Lee, who also runs the popular eateries Dear Jervois in Herne Bay and Little King in Milford. I admit, Major Sprout opened in November 2015ā€¦ so I am a bit lateĀ to the party. But it was definitely worth the wait, especially for their famous and Insta-worthy buttermilk pancakes.
Jocheli015
Great food matched by great service. A first time but definitely not the last time. Loved the feel and energy that their interior design vibes out when you walk through the door.

On a rainy day like today,Ā wouldnā€™t it be perfect to sit at a cosy cafe sipping on a cup of goodness? Thatā€™s where Iā€™d love to be right now. Popular for their acai bowls, Major Sprout is definitely at the top of their game when it comes to making food that looks and tastes good. With lots of options that areĀ vegetarian and gluten free, this is the place to be.
Chomnomnom
Have visited Major Sprout several times, first experience was not great - we were seated right at the back with a horrible view of fat/oil dripping out of the vent down the window right next to our table. (Not sure if it's still there but just avoid getting a table in the back) Seated so far back, we had to wave down the waiter several times to get service, water, forgotten coffees, food order etc. BUT the food and coffee was so worth the wait in the end, the bad experience was all forgotten. Since then, we've come back several times and service has improved. The ginger latte is delish and a must try if you like ginger. Great selection of food.

Such a cute little hidden gem tucked away in the city. Service was great! Food was great I had the green eggs benedict - so tasty! and the peanut butter smoothie was so yummy!! I would definitely go back ā˜ŗļø

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't busy so got a table straight away. I had the halloumi and beetroot salad and added smoked salmon to it. The presentation was amazing. It looked so good it was almost a shame to eat it. The flavours were fantastic too. I was savouring every bite. Will definitely come back to this place to try the other options on the menu.

I really wanted to like this place. Came for coffee with the kids. Kida were immediately given water and a menu and colouring stuff to colour. Great! Coffee was good. So decided to come back later for lunch <br/><br/>Lunch was about 2 pm. Not crowded. Had to wait a while for someone to take order. Got the 1/2 serve of eggs Benedict and the kids pancake. Everything looked really pretty. But that's where it ended. The rosti that came with the Benedict was oily. The kids pancake was very doughy and sweet. And so was the toasted marshmallow and almond mascopone. Also came with fairy floss and some kind of biscuit. Everything was sweet. Too sweet for kids. Thankfully 1.0 is not used to sweet stuff and did not eat any of the accompaniment.

Typical hipster lunch /brunch place .busy hidden cafe with a nice light open set up . staff are super friendly and welcoming . the menu has plenty of the usual breakfast favs and some cool twists . we went for an omelette with pancetta and roast tomato and the smashed herbe eggs .. The omelette itself was nice but has some sweet relish also I was t expecting and too Much olive oil poured over it. The eggs with broccoli and seeded loaf were good though. I also had a coffee which was good but a little small . overall cool but a tad pricey though with nice atmosphere and interesting well presented food we still want to try since its close to our apartment

Amongst the cafes on victoria street west..this is the most expensive one..food is good and is hard to get a table at times...caters to businesses around the area...

A really nice place for brunch! I ordered the bibimbap with pork belly which was very delicious. A bit pricey but will definitely will come back!

Came in here before work. It was busy, but got a table. Service was awesome. Really friendly. Coffee came out nice & quickly. Ordered the "Green Eggs Benedict" with salmon. It was strangely nice! The rest of the menu looks really nice & I look forward to testing the rest for it. The menu is at the pricey end of the scale, but on first impression it's worth it.

Easily the best cafĆ© in Auckland for me right now.Ā Ā A great range of high quality food options with exceptional flavour profiles and some wow factor presentation (clone that amazing kitchen crew I say!).Ā The service is impeccable and the coffee, well... just awesome.Ā Ā Nice work MS ~ if I could give you more stars I would.

Absolutely fabulous! The staff were attentive and totally committed to giving us a great experience. The menu was interesting and had great variety. There were four of us all having different breakfasts and we all gave them a ten out of ten. We loved the complimentary sparking water. We can't wait to go back. Parking was also easy. We did go early so that made it easy as I understand it gets busier as the morning goes on. Well priced as well. Fabulous!

Varied menu, great atmosphere, good service, reasonably priced. What's not to love! I had the Big Fill which I'd highly recommend, so tasty! I'll be back.

I think I am seriously sad ā€” I have returned to Major Sprout 3x now and ordered the CreamyĀ MushroomsĀ every time just changing it very slightly. Obviously not an egg eater, the cafe was more than happy to alter the dish to please your preference. To be honest if you feel like you donā€™t want/need think the egg ā€“ swap it out for the home made hash brown! It is chunky and the crunch is perfect, otherwise for a delicate touch, order avocado

Easy 5 ! First time at Major Sprout and experience was great. Awesome Fast Genuine customer service , water glasses filled regularly without hesitation. I had Green Eggs Benedict - 10/10 . Delish ! . My partner had the Egg on toast - Easy 10 - nice and simple fresh ! . Coffee was 5stars ! Fresh Clean tasting - creamy Flat White instead of 'instant coffee' flat whites . Overall Awesome ambience great food better coffee !

ā–ŖļøGood drinks/smoothie menu <br/>ā–ŖļøFriendly service <br/>ā–ŖļøOpen & Spacious <br/>ā–ŖļøOn the pricey end <br/><br/>Major sprout had me majorly full! This was another gem to be ticked off my foodie bucketlist and I happily did so today. A group of us had a post-workout brunch here this avo and it was a first for all of us. <br/><br/>The decor is really sleek and trendy with a lotta greenery and a clean design. There was so much sunshine coming through, making the place real warm and open. To start ,we had their juice specials for the day - lime, watermelon & mango. I would HIGHLY recommend this if it ever came up on their menu coz it was soo delicious!! Super light and refreshing and the toasted mango bits were really nice too. We then ordered the Green eggs bene, the breakfast crossaint , buttermilk pancakes and the Tteok galbi burger. <br/><br/>The burger sounded good on the menu but tasted pretty average on the plate but I LOVED the pancakes. Even though it looks real rich, the flavours were very light and worked so well together. I also like how their menu puts an Asian spin on classic dishes like Eggs Benedict and halloumi. Their presentation is also INCREDIBLE. Overall, Major Sprout is such a beautiful cafe to spend the afternoon with friends with plenty of warm sunshine!! I'm stoked that I finally tried it after seeing all their gorgeous dishes on Insta. <br/><br/>

This is a stand out cafe with a superb menu and excellent service!! Our glasses of sparkling water were constantly filled up throughout our meal and the waiter was very nice. The food itself was delicious and had very cool presentation, but had to deduct 0.5 because it is a tad expensive. Will be coming back for a special occasion :)

This place was recommended to me by a friend. The place looked amazing from the outside and inside. Quite a busy place. Service was excellent and food was amazing
Anna
I wasn't actually that obsessed with this place and their food. The interior was lovely, the food was just as visually appealing as the interior. But it didn't taste that good. It wasn't bad either, it just wasn't the usual "oh my god this is so delicious" kind of experience. I got the rosti eggs bene and my friend got the smashed avo. It sounded like hers tasted much better than mine, so I don't really know what to think of this place but I would give it another go for sure

Everything about this cafe is excellent - its ambience, decor, menu selection, customer service, how the food tastes and how its presented. The prices are also reasonable for what you get.

Had brunch with a friend at Major Sprout today and came in at around 11am to find the cafe jam-packed as it was their busiest hour. The staff was extremely nice and attentive by writing our names down and making sure that we got a place to sit after we had a 15 minute wait. I ordered the Buttermilk pancakes which had almond marscapone, butterscotch and toasted marshmallows alongside the Strawberries and Cream smoothie. My friend ordered a croissant and a chai latte.<br/><br/>The buttermilk pancakes was a masterpiece in itself with it's presentation and it had a good amount of pancakes to keep me full however the addition with the candyfloss with the toasted marshmallows was somewhat overbearing given that it was too sweet however my smoothie managed to dampen that sweetness. <br/><br/>Overall I enjoyed my visit to Major Sprout as it was one of the places I had been longing to visit although it was somewhat overpriced. The ambience of the cafe was warm and comforting , I honestly can't wait to come back here again.

Was craving pancakes so came here at around 2 in the afternoon and it was so busy!!! Had the pancakes and the green eggs benedict along with a flat white and a cappuccino. The coffee was definitely good, the latte art was really impressive. The waiters were attentive despite the busy restaurant however service took so long!!! I think we waited for our food for a solid 20 minutes which is pretty long for a cafe but honestly it was worth it. The pancakes were heavenly I loved the crunchy granola, the candy floss, the marshmallows, everything! Honestly the pancakes were a 10/10 and an extra point for presentation. However the eggs Benedict was bland and the salmon was cooked?!?! Was a bit of a let down but it wasn't bad. Would defs come here again for pancake cravings.

Delicious!! This cafe is so good. Nice light and airy interior, pretty busy Friday morning. Service was superb, great staff that are very helpful. The watermelon juice is to die for so refreshing. The presentation of the food and juices were beautiful. Now on to the food....YUM! We ordered the salmon poached eggs, creamy mushrooms and omelette with zucchini and broccolini. Coffees also done well.

A stylish inner city cafĆ© with a great rating on Zomatoā€¦ but will it live up to its reputation we questioned? The answer from us was YES.Ā <br/><br/>After having this cafĆ© bookmarked for months, my partner and I finally tried it out in the weekend. Walking in the interior is right on trend with a monochrome colour palette, touches of marble, wood and scandi features. The large windows and shelved pot plants bring the cafĆ© to life. Greeted and seated promptly, our waiter was welcoming and friendly. Served sparkling water and menus minutes later, things were off to a great start. The menu is very appealing, with some new takes on classic dishes and also several Korean inspired dishes. <br/>Ā <br/>We went for sweet and savoury during our brunch visit. The Green eggs benedict with mushrooms and avocado for him, and the Buttermilk pancakes with vanilla bean ice-cream for me. The eggs benedict was the best weā€™ve had to date! The potato rostiā€™s are delicious!! Shredded potato thatā€™s soft with texture on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The eggs were done perfectly and the mushrooms and avo balanced the dish nicely. <br/><br/>The Buttermilk pancakes were picture perfect with pops of pink scattered throughout. The mixture of almond mascarpone, butterscotch and toasted marshmallows wasnā€™t too overpowering, however I was glad I ordered the extra side of vanilla bean ice-cream as my pancakes were a little dryā€¦but with a full jar of vanilla bean maple syrup (Noblw brand I must add) served with the pancakes this was no longer a problem. I wouldnā€™t say the marshmallows were toasted but they sure were good and worth mentioning! <br/>Ā <br/>Overall we were very pleased with our visit. The food was great, the service memorable and the overall presentation of both the cafĆ© and dishes was to a high standard.<br/> The design of their takeaway coffee cups was a successful move, I would definitely prefer their marble prints over a standard cup any day! Thereā€™s no doubt weā€™ll be back for sure...

This place is great! Good service, cool bright decor, yummy food, perfect poached eggs. Potentially best cafe in Auckland I have been to in the past year.
Annie Bananie
Great attentive staff, friendly and attentive to low water levels! The gnocchi was good but I was only disappointed that it wasn't actually gnocchi but more potato hashies/rosti. I preferred my friends creamy mushrooms. The buttermilk pancakes were fluffy/delicious but be warned it gets pretty damn sweet! My other friend had the big brekkie and said it was better than most and not too dry. Good food and vibe, a nice spacious place to relax
Riley Goodman
Possibly the best cafĆ© ever... I went with a friend, who highly recommended it to me. The place was beautiful!! The plant/modern theme was very nice, I could sit there for hours. The Buttermilk Pancakes were soo good. And I ordered their Blueberry and Basil Smoothie because I wanted something unique and it was delicious! And the service was very attentive and friendly! I'll definitely be back šŸ˜Š

I'm not really a heavy breakfast eater these days, but that suddenly changed when I got the Big Fill. All that meat, so good. After munching the whole plate, I almost couldn't get up because I was so full. So full, it was brilliant.
Mysticmojito
Came for breakfast on a weekday and it wasn't too busy at all. I had the creamy mushrooms and would definitely recommend, though I would avoid if you don't want to gnaw through sourdough with your knife. Coffee was good but a bit on the cold side. All berry smoothie was above average. Staff made a difference, very accommodating and looking out for your needs and eager to please, which makes such a difference. So although it was a touch spenny, is it worth it? I'd say so.
Rachel Herriott
We had a family brunch here today. We were super impressed by the service, the food and the entire experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and the food was outstanding especially the wonderfully presented AcaƬ Bowl. Two of our group are vegan and it wasn't difficult to get delicious vegan options. Having been here a few times, this place is consistently first rate.

We waited for 40 mins for a table which doesn't happen often in auckland.......<br/><br/>Good vibe, good food, love those dried floral decorations ! The green bene was good but will be better if its hot! Everything came out was not hot enough... including the coffee. Coffee was below average... i feel like i was drinking a glass of warm milk with a hint of coffee flavour...... definitely won't go back for their coffee again.
LAC
Healthy, delicious food. Interesting menu items which is great, but not a lot of vegetarian options available. So only been here a few times and ordered the same dish (bibimbap) both times. Love a few more veggie items :)
Ptwn
Love their flat white and the lamb sausage was amazing! Good service! Prices are little higher but worth! Will back and try different food again!

Highly recommended for work/business lunches. Great food and great coffee. <br/><br/>Had 4 different lunches here with a different order each time. The food was always nicely presented and very healthy. <br/><br/>I think it's a little lacking in the flavor department but I am being pedantic because they are expensive. Don't get me wrong it's nice food, but so focused on being healthy it feels a little bluh!<br/><br/>Still, I always love coming here and I plan to bring clients here for working lunches whenever possible.

Visited this place a week ago with my good friend. We both enjoy eating good foods and we both were looking forward to visiting Major Sprout. The menu was easy to understand and the plates were pleasing to look at and to eat too =) It was great experience tasting nice fusion food that you cannot taste easily from elsewhere. Already looking to visiting them again in future.

Loved the vibes at Major Sprout! Staff were so nice and accommodating. Food was amazing, didn't take long to come out and looked just as amazing as it tasted. Would definitely recommend to others and come back again.
Tingting Zhang
Nice try, quite busy on that Wednesday afternoon, service was good and food was nice, the bibimbap was exactly met my expectations, will be there again and try others:))
Kathy Xu
Great place for lunch. Everything on the menu sounded lovely and the staff were very attentive and nice. On the pricey side but worth it! Would recommend making a reservation as it can get quite busy.
Steph Harper
Excellent choice for Sunday breafast! Ordered a Strawberries&Cream smoothie which was creamy and fresh, as well as the eggs bene. It was great to find that there is an option for a half size bene as a full is often too much food. Rosti and bacon were crispy, egg was perfectly poached and the "green hollandaise" was a delicious change. Huge amount of dairy & gluten free options compared with a lot of other places. Service was also really impressive! Will be my new regular šŸ’Æ

greennnnnnnnn dumplingsssssssssss taste a bit Chineseeeeeeeeeeeee style hhaa is coollllllllllllllll like a mixture of different culture food.

Came here for lunch during the work week and was impressed with the interior and vibe. Fairly busy just before 1pm but still enough seats around. All the staff members were friendly.<br/><br/>Since they offer an all day breakfast, I had the eggs bene with salmon ($19.50) ā€“ which was beautifully presented. I love that they serve the eggs (and green sauce!) on a potato rosti/hash brown. The smoked salmon was a bit average though; I should have gotten another topping. Portions are what you'd expect from an upmarket cafĆ©.<br/><br/>Would be keen to come back to try some of their drinks and their Korean-inspired dishes.

Went to major sprout with a bunch of friends for my birthday lunch and it was absolutely tasty! Top 5 cafe's to date and I have tried MANY.Ā <br/>Point of difference - Healthy twist on classic dishes that are hard to find anywhere else<br/>We ordered 5 meals from the menu (Top left - Bottom right)<br/>Creamy Mushrooms - Both friends ordered the classic because it's always their go to at any cafe. They said it was nice but you can certainly tell its on the healthier side due to less cream. If you love creamy mushrooms and are on a healthy diet then it is a perfect choice, but if not then it may be slightly disappointing<br/>Sous Vide Chicken - Be aware that the portion size is a bit small so if you have a big appetite or looking for a big meal then maybe pass on this one. Didn't fill up my friend so was slightly disappointed<br/>Green Eggs Benedict - The portion again is slightly small but it had a nice twist to the typical eggs benedict that is generic in almost every cafe.Ā <br/>Bibimbap - I personally had this and it was perfect!! Such a nice healthy twist on a Korean classic which is highly difficult to find. Instead of rice they have quinoa so it was filling and satisfying. Highly recommend<br/>Burger - The boyfriend got this one and he is a huge burger enthusiast. He loved this burger and said it was one of the best he has had (especially from a cafe). If you love burgers then would highly recommend

Good place, Great Service, Awesome food. Tried the Kingfish and Beetroot salad. Simple yet delicious. Was quite on late Sunday arvo so no wait for table or food. Will definitely be back.

I love love love major sprout's version of the Eggs Benedict. The eggs were cooked perfectly, runny yolk and all, crispy hash as the base and a delicious healthy sauce to replace the usual hollandaise. I'm not one for changing how a classic dish should be made (talking about the hollandaise sauce here) but their version works. <br/><br/>My friend had the other dish with the fish (I think it was kingfish). It was just a tad dry for his liking, but the flavours were still there.<br/><br/>Oh and great coffee (can't rememeber what beans they use). <br/><br/>The place is usually super busy around lunch, so don't go there if you're in a hurry. Service does take some time, even when there's not too many people around. But the food is definitely worth the wait.

Wow!!šŸ˜†šŸ˜† <br/>Love this cafe! When i went the place was so packed.<br/>We ordered butter pancakes which was delicious and green dumplings. The green dumplings came with spicy kimchi which we loved. Food was delicious, place was nice and service was great. Definitely we will be coming back!

Tucked away on Graham Street in the heart of the business district is Major Sprout. It is the latest venue of the creators of Dear Jervois, a much loved Auckland brunch spot. Heading up the kitchen is Phil Czerwonatis, former chef of Rosie cafe in Parnell. Imitating a garden feel, the cafe is light and airy with a fresh, crisp feel. Flowers and plants adorn any spare available nook and cranny and you would be forgiven for thinking that you were in a fauna filled conservatory in the middle of the bush.
Jessica
This place is so nice! I had the green dumplings and a cold pressed juiceĀ & itĀ was so healthy but dam tasty! Would have loved the juice size to be bigger but then I could drink fresh juice all day every day if I could. The atmosphere and dĆ©cor of the place is great. Very modern and the tables spread out nicely. Service was okay,Ā nothing amazing butĀ when weĀ needed anything theyĀ were happy to help.Ā Would defiantly recommended to everyone and will defiantly be going back myself.

I love the feeling I get when I step into Major Sprout, the decor is very simplistic and light and it feels very clean.<br/>I have dined here twice, and both times the service was top notch. It's nice to walk into a restaurant where the wait staff actually want to accommodate you and make you feel like they want your business. <br/>The first time I tried the mushroom gnocchi and a side of brussel sprouts.<br/>The second time I had the seared tuna, which was unfortunately slightly dry and overcooked but to be fair the components were spectacular. The green dumplings is a standout - the best dish I have had there so far.<br/>Their smoothies are fresh and tasty too and I definitely want to try more.
Roana Bilia
Not somewhere you only want to go once, Major Sprout is deffs up there on the top brunch spots in AKL. Make sure youre prepared to wait atleast half an hour to an hour on a Sunday morning (bring a book!...) This is probably one of the few places that will be worth that kind of wait.Ā <br/>Every single thing on the menu Ā is delicious, their cabinet food looks well worth a try and their smoothies, coffees, and other assortment of drinks accompany the dishes really well.Ā <br/>Seems like everywhere in Akl is now 'asian fusion' but you wont find us complaining.Ā <br/>The staff are friendly and ambiance is inviting and comfortable.
Siobhan
Fantastic and friendly service here which was really appreciated. I was underwhelmed with the coffee - my cappucino had next to no foam - but enjoyed tasting the beetroot/ginger/turmeric/matcha latte varieties. The food was good.
Greg
We were very excited to visit Major sprout today as we have enjoyed many lovely food experiences at the sister cafe in Ponsonby "Dear Jervous".<br/>On arrival Major sprout welcomes you with fresh modern decor and nice ambience.<br/>We sat down ordered coffee & hot chocolate...it took a reminder to staff and arrived 20 mins later..<br/>Flat white is ok but nothing special, warm but have to drink it quickly, milk is not creamy..<br/>Hot chocolate was the same...won't be ordering another..<br/>When our meals delivered to table, I ordered the omlette which sounded really nice on menu.<br/>However it was covered in sauce and not that hot actually..didn't finish it.<br/><br/>My partner ordered the eggs benidict with bacon thinking it would be like the traditional eggs bene..<br/>The waiting staff should point out to customers to make them aware it is not served with hollendaise sauce!!!<br/>It was something out of the book by Dr Seuss..<br/>"Green eggs & Ham"..<br/>Very disappointing as this is the first time my partner was disappointed with our food and be coming back...<br/>Even one of the wait staff asked if everything was ok.. and we said no we didn't expect this....<br/>He didn't really make any effort to offer an alternative, just said sorry that's the way it is...<br/><br/>Very sad such a great looking cafe has this served up!!!!
Dana
You know it's a good sign when you can barely find a seat in a cafe!<br/>Very busy when we visited one weekend but we did manage to eventually get seated. With a beautiful light and airy interior this is definitely an Instagram worthy place to check out. I ordered the acai bowl and strawberry and cream smoothie (which is quite possibly one of the nicest smoothies I have tasted yet). Both were delicious however next time I won't order a smoothie and a smoothie bowl as it was quite hard to finish both. Lots of delicious and healthy options to choose from.

The food and coffee were amazing! The food tasted so good. I really enjoyed my breakfast. The ambiance was very friendly and positive. The staff was friendly and attentive. Thanks
Sharon Yeo
The food and decor was nice, service was good.<br/>The only thing to fault was the very bland coffee, the tumeric latte tasted like a fluffy with cinnamon sprinkles and tumeric colouring. The veal katsu was oversized and hard to take in one bite. The meat had quite a few tendons and did not work well wit the softer bread. The green dumplings was not the greatest... very bland and was not very appetising.<br/>The mushroom was good and was well combined with the rosti.<br/>What i didnt like was when the cashier asked how my meal was, i mentioned that it was alright. She doubted me... instead of asking me why it wasnt ok. She really doubted me. Anyways dont think i will be back.

Loved this place! Everything was great, I had the best omellette Ive ever had here, and thats saying something because its not too difficult to make a good omellette! Excellent service, great interior and atmosphere
Khloe
good location just next to council service centre, the vibe and decoration inside is also great. ordered the pancake which i think was a bit too sweet to my taste. There also other asian fusion to try which is good in this sort of location.
Connie Stone
This place is beautifully decorated and the food is amazing!! Ordered the eggs bene and one of their sodas which were both delicious. The menu provides a variety of breakfast options all taking a slight twist on your average breakfast. <br/>

Love the stylish decor of this cafe. The menu is very hip and on trend. I ordered the matcha granola and it was presented beautifully like a garden. However was disappointed with the tiny amount of granola on the bowl. The peanut butter smoothie was amazing and I will definitely be back to try the beetroot latte.

This place is great for brunch. We went there today and had a delicious meal, but we were most impressed with the staff, who go above and beyond to make you feel special. Definitely worth a trip.

From the team behind Dear Jervois comes Major Sprout, a stylish inner-city eatery in the heart of Auckland CBD. Iā€™d read several reviews about the cafe, but it wasnā€™t until a friend posted some of their stunning dishes accompanied by a vibrant pink latte that I decided I simply had to come and do a review! Excitedly, I set a Sunday reservation and girls brunch date.<br/><br/>Our reservation was at 12:30, and though we were about 20 minutes early, the staff showed us to our table ā€“ a high table at the front. With glossy concrete floors and floor to ceiling windows letting in plenty of sunshine, the cafe is beautifully spacious and airy. We adored the modern, industrial chic decor mixed with luscious greenery. To our surprise, the place was incredibly full ā€“ it was so busy, we were glad we had made a reservation!<br/><br/>The pink latte Iā€™d seen is their Beetroot Latte ā€“ one of their rainbow lattes, along with Chai, Turmeric & Matcha. While tempting, I was intrigued by the Strawberries & Cream Smoothie and chose it to start with, while my friends chose the Blueberry & Basil Smoohie and Matcha Latte. With strawberries, coconut cream, dates, banana and almond milk, my smoothie was delightfully creamy and subtly sweet. My friend who chose the Blueberry & Basil loved the smoothie, commenting that even with the blend of unusual ingredients like basil and activated charcoal, it tasted mainly of blueberry. My friend who chose the Matcha Latte also enjoyed her drink, although being a big lover of green tea, thought it could do with a stronger flavour.<br/><br/>We ordered our mains from their all-day breakfast and lunch menu: Green Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon, Buttermilk Pancakes, and Halloumi & Beetroot Salad. All of our dishes arrived at once, beautifully presented and garnished with colourful details: the bright green sauce & watercress on the eggs benedict, the strawberry & pink meringue on the pancakes, the salad decorated like a garland.<br/><br/>My Halloumi & Beetroot Salad was served with golden beetroot, barley, greens and candied walnuts. The flavours were full and flavoursome, complementing each other perfectly in addition to the wholesome, chewy texture of the halloumi and fresh beetroot. My friend who chose the Green Eggs Benedict loved her soft poached eggs contrasted by the crunchy potato rosti. This dish offers the additional choice of house-cured slab bacon or smoked salmon, and while she loved the smoked salmon she chose, she wouldā€™ve liked to have it raw.<br/><br/>The Buttermilk Pancakes were a favourite ā€“ thick and fluffy, they had a lovely texture, complemented by creamy almond mascarpone and butterscotch my friend described as ā€˜slightly salty, almost like salted caramelā€™ which was the perfect balance for a sweet dish.<br/><br/>We were incredibly full after, but after browsing their cabinet showcasing delights like lemon loaf and cacao & peanut butter balls, we decided to share a Hazelnut Baby Cake. It was Ferrero Rocher in a cake: chocolate-flavoured cake topped with crunchy hazelnuts and a thick hazelnut buttercream. I absolutely loved this dessert, and while the cake itself could have been more moist, it was very delicious and decadent served with the rich buttercream!<br/><br/>Overall, we absolutely loved our brunch at Major Sprout. The decor was warm and inviting, the food & drinks aesthetic, wholesome and satisfying, and the service friendly and attentive. Iā€™d highly recommend the cafe if youā€™re searching for your new brunch spot mixed with fresh, healthy choices & sophisticated city chic.

Major Sprout is currently the fool-proof choice when looking for a cafe to impress your friends. The weather was gloomy but the cafe inside was invitingly bright and warm, as were the staff.

A friend of mine read great reviews about this place, so we absolutely could not wait to check it out.<br/><br/>It was jam packed during Sunday lunch time, so really glad we made a reservation. We adored the clean, modern, and chic take on the industrial styled decor. Service was friendly and we were attended to constantly.<br/><br/>The menu was extensive with lots of healthy options. We started with berry smoothies for my friends, and a matcha latte for myself. They were all beautifully presented, with vibrant, intense colors. My friends enjoyed their smoothies, though the berry & basil one has little basil flavour. My matcha was nice, a bit more on the mild side for someone who loves green tea.<br/><br/>For our mains, one friend of mine ordered the beetroot & halloumi salad, the vegetables were well roasted and flavored. My other friend had the salmon Benedict. The crispy potato rosti was the perfect compliment to her soft boiled eggs, though she did not care much for the green sauce, and would have prefer raw smoked salmon rather than cooked. My buttermilk pancakes were as pretty as a picture, with meringues in different shades of pink as decoration. The pancakes were thick and fluffy, and the butterscotch sauce had a slightly saltiness to it which balanced out the sweetness from the rest of the dish.<br/><br/>We also shared a hazelnut chocolate baby cake as dessert to finish. This was perhaps the least impressive item of the day. It was very cute to look at, loved the crunch from the hazelnut and the flavour of the buttercream. However, the cake itself was dry, the popcorn on top also tasted stale. Would not order this again.<br/><br/>All in all, although there is definitely space for improvement, it was a lovely spot to catch up with girlfriends, and offer fantastic photo opportunities.

Great food. Amazing decor. Good service. Really nice staff. Definitely Ā recommend. Would mostly recommend Ā to two to six people. Will definitely go there again. RATED : 5.0

We went here for brunch on a Saturday morning. The service was pretty good. The waiter regularly topped up our water. I had the egg benny with salmon. It was an ample serving and delicious. I cant wait to go back!

Nice cosy cafe, bit of a wait for a table but that's normal. There was a little hiccup with my food but they recovered really well & staff were attentive & apologetic so it was all good. The Peanut Buttercup smoothie is amazeballs.

Love this place! The food is so beautiful and tasty. The prices are reasonable too! I had the maycha granola which was a delightful and filling start to the first day of Spring :) will definitely be back.

Been here a few times now. Best thing about the place is the ambience! Great decor and refreshing feeling when you arrive. Awesome service and food. From all the coffees, food and smoothies I've had, they are all on point! <br/><br/>You need to come and try this place!!

Came here for late lunch at 230pm with my BF and waited a bit to be seated even though it was not busy. Once seated, staffs were attentive. The butternut smoothie was delicious. New juice cranberry, grapefruit and lime is great if you're a tangy person. I ordered the creamy mushroom which is very rich. His egg bene was perfect. Would definitely return to try out the other drinks.

This place is cozy. Haven't really tried their food yet (i will next time) but i went there to try their matcha latte, and i ordered with almond milk. Really tasty. A friend of mine had a drink with cacao, coconut and a shot of espresso (cant really remember the name but it was really good as well) i will definitely come back for their meal :)) Auckland Eats

This cafe has got it all right. All our dishes meticulously prepared and cooked to perfection. Never thought I would wax lyrical about homemade baked beans but theirs are genuinely lovely with a bit of a spicy kick. The crew in the kitchen clearly think every thing on the plate has to be delivered just-right, and it was. The staff are friendly and relaxed and very efficient. The cafe has been beautifully designed and is a lovely environment in which to sit and enjoy. The music is tasteful and set at a volume that makes conversation easy to have. Even the magazines are a bit special. A mixture of content with off beat articles and a pleasure to browse. A light spacious high quality cafe that has thought through every detail of what it takes to present a delightful cafe experience. Well done Major Sprout.

Only had the mocha here while my friends had piccolo and chai latte. We all didn't like it at all. For me and my friend, we didnt like the sour after taste of the coffee, which we just believed is because of the coffee beans. Our other friend said that her chai latte was too sweet. Wont be coming back to this place anytime soon. I loved the decor though. The place is very IG worthy.

Amazing how this place transformed from what it was to this beautifully decorated cafe. It was super busy at 10am on Saturday. They were great with our reservation and also automatically prepared baby chairs and sip cups since we told them there were babies coming. <br/><br/>Service wise, I think they were overwhelmed with the number of customers because my coffee took half an hour to arrive and tasted sour and over extracted. Friend's hot chocolate came after her meal even though ordered before it. <br/><br/>Despite that, when our food finally arrived, it was delicious. Buttermilk pancakes were light and fluffy! The mushroom gnocchi was tasty (slightly expensive though... Only 3 pieces of gnocchi and lots of mushroom. I also paid $5 for little bits of provolone)<br/><br/>Ambience was bright and sunny. I'll have to come back and give their coffee another try. Maybe at a less busy time.

We went to major sprout for breakfast on a quiet weekday morning. The menu looked good and the ambiance and environment was really nice, light and bright. However the customer service was poor, there was 1 waitress working and she seemed to spend more time cleaning and organising rather than serving. We watched our meals wait on the counter for 5 minutes before it was served to us cold. The coffee was bitter and almost sour, quite similar to the customer service.
Rebecca Muirson
I am in love with this place and it definitely lives up to its reputation. Clean, fresh & inviting, something that not easy to find in a city cafe. The atmosphere and service is spot on and in my opinion they nail the menu too. Not overloaded with too much choice but enough to cover all bases, and boy does it taste good.<br/>Love your work Major Sprout šŸ™Œ
Foodathon
Great place especially for coffee and breakfast with some healthy options. Food is delicious and service is always great. My favourite is broken eggs broccolini and the green eggs bene with potato rosti...yum!
Carmen Yong
Really enjoyed my experience here! The place looks great with a very trendy interior and awesome natural lighting. The staff were very friendly also. At first, the food portions looked small for their price but when we were finished we found that they were just right šŸ˜Š the strawberries and cream smoothie is great as its not overly sweet and the green eggs benedict is good too for people who like poached eggs but without the hollandaise!

Really cool new spot on the block. The venue is really modern, green with plants and a little industrial thrown into the mix.<br/><br/>Food was great, coffee grouse and service really slick and not to expensive, hight recommend checkin ft out, only fault is I would have liked a full slice of sourdough bread.<br/><br/>Had the pancetta and tomato omelette.
Amit Tripuraneni
Awesome and welcoming staff, quick service and amazing food. Would definitely recommend it as perfect weekend breakfast spot in central city.
LuciferTSN
Went with a group of friends for breakfast on a busy Thursday morning. Staffs are friendly to us and found us a good long table for 6 people. The food was amazing, my omelette was well presented and great portion. However my friends egg Benedict was small its price. Milkshakes are so so good. Sweet pancake is another dish if you prefer sweet breakfast. Highly recommended the peanut butter one. Overall great restaurant and definitely will revisit.

Nice brunch wiz four of my friends. <br/>The environment and food is beyond description. We have very berry, strawberry and blueberry smoothie, all of them are good (highly recommend the strawberry and very berry). We have ordered different food, so we can have a taste of each other's food. All of them were so tasting and the decorations were so pretty.<br/>Definitely will come next time.
Rachel
Inspired me to purchase my own spiraliser and make my own zucchini pasta! This cafe closes quite early so I would recommend going in earlier if you don't want to miss out on the food on offer for the day
Yoda
Stylish cafe but parking, even on a Sunday morning, was difficult. Staff were very attentive but there was a wait for our coffees.<br/>Enjoyed a half serve of green eggs bene & friend had a tasty omelette. The berry smoothie was delicious but watchout for the sour dried raspberries on top!<br/>A tiny delicate young woman next to us polished off an omelette as well as a full plate of pancakes with caramel mascarpone & meringues all by herself, so I'm guessing they're good too!

Update 2019<br/><br/>The last two times I've been here have been shocking. The first of the two, a friend and I waited over an hour for our food to arrive (and when it did, both dishes were mediocre). When I visited with my partner on 24-03-2019, we were seated and given menus ... and then left to sit for upwards of 20 minutes, while the tables directly beside us (who arrived after we did) were served and even had coffees arrive before staff so much as looked at us again. We ended up walking out and will never be returning. There are plenty more cafes like this one in the area with better food and far better service.Ā <br/><br/>Original review<br/><br/> Service: when we arrived, we waited at the counter for at least 5 minutes before the cashier even looked up to tell us "won't be a minute." She also informed us that their Eftpos machine was down. This reception really didn't give me a great impression of the place. The waitress who was serving us however, was brilliant. She was very friendly, attentive, answered all our questions and helped us decipher what on the menu could be made vegan. Food: I ordered the herbed broken eggs & broccolini (listed as asparagus on the menu?) dish with the freedom loaf bread - the waitress kindly organised for the eggs to be replaced with mushrooms, the cheese removed, and it was served with a lovely (pea?) puree. On the small side, but definitely delicious. We also ordered the acai bowl (which was BEAUTIFUL) and a juice each - I went for the blood orange one, which was definitely a bit too pricey for the size but again, was pretty tasty.

Food was good, service was super friendly too. Interior design is super cute and atmosphere is nice and relaxed. Would recommend the very berry smoothie if you like something a lil more sour! Nice place to catch up with friends or get some work done :)Joy Shi Joy Shi

After my boss recommend this place I knew I had to go - after weeks of trying to go, I finally got there ā˜ŗļø. The aesthetics are probably number 1 in Auckland in my humble opinion šŸ’•šŸ˜. The clean interior and floral arrangements are to die for. I would say the menu is quite standard but switched up with some modern ideals! Presentation is on point and the food is cooked perfectly - check this place out if you to go les mills or work at NZME āœØ

Saturday morning breakfast / brunch and major sprout is rapidly filling up with Pump-sucking, Lycra-sprayed evacuees from les mills. The space is "nice" - modern, clean, polished concrete underfoot, a bit of scandanavian modernism, and a healthy looking scattering of pot plants. All in all pleasant.<br/><br/>The menu is interesting - the impression is healthy-ish but clearly this isnt the focus (thank god) - this is no trendy, mass market pandering un-eatery.<br/><br/>A very pleasant lady waiter was patient as we sat down and rejected two different tables (too cramped - too high). From our just right table we ordered some white coffees of variable nomenclature and a summer kombucha. The coffees I think we're Flight (excellent) and none were screwed up by bad baristaship - a good start. The kombucha disappointedly wasn't home made but still pleasant.<br/><br/>We ordered three plates - matcha granola, seasonal fruits and crunchy gentleman-a playful take on a croque Monsieur I guess. The matcha was ok but gluey rather than granolery, the fruit was colourful- more show than punch -kaleidoscopically arresting and incorporating slightly overworked retro fruit carving, and the croaky old man was heavy on the toasted brioche - pleasant but not spectacular. <br/><br/>I think that sums up my impression - pleasant but not spectacular - after an hour's aerobic flailing, perhaps that's all that's required.<br/><br/>It was interesting that while some people with hang-ups find breast feeding repulsive in restaurants, I find adults periodically sucking on Pumps in restaurants far more so ... funny really .....

Tried this new place back in March and was pleasantly surprised. The smoothies were realy good (except for the mocha one which I thought tasted weird). <br/><br/>I ordered the green eggs benedict and really enjoyed it - was super filling! I also like how you can just order 1 rather than the two portions it usually comes in so if you can't or don't want to eat that much then you have the option! <br/><br/>The burger was average (I dont recommend ordering burgers at cafes usually but what can you do when you have a 9 year old with you). Buut the fries that came with it were good šŸŸ <br/><br/>I love the modern feel this place has! Very instagrammable šŸ˜ would go back to try more things for myself.

Visited with a friend for lunch during our work break. I made the novice mistake of ordering a Bibimbab - it was expensive, and not even comparable to those made at Korean restaurants. That's more my own fault I reckon; I recommend that visitors stick to the other dishes.<br/><br/>Also. Sparkling water. I know you're trying to be fancy, but how about asking before you fill up those glasses? And when we do tell you we want normal tap water, don't then refill the glasses after we've finished them with sparking water again! Please just ask your customers. It's a simple two second question and would save people like me getting frustrated and enjoying the experience of dining with you less.<br/><br/>Had a cappuccino which was quite nice.

Went here for mother's day lunch having heard good things about this place. Being mother's day the place was packed out and we had settled for a late lunch. Set with an industrial feel to it in the midst of the offices in the central CBD, this place is a breath of freshness. The nice touch of providing all mother's with a little cupcake at the start set a great tone to the meal and occasion.<br/><br/>We started with their 'superfood' smoothies of strawberries and cream and sprouting green. Both refreshing in differing ways. The sprouting green with its freshness of kale and spirulina while the delectable combination of frozen strawberries, coconut cream and banana was moreish.<br/><br/>Mains were the angus burger with potato skins which was cooked well with the nice added flavours of zucchini and roast pepper relish made it comparable with any of the other gourmet burgers from the various other places. <br/>The mushrooms and gnocchi was a marriage of restrained flavour of the mushrooms with the buttery sauce and capped off with the 62 degree egg which added more creamy textures to the dish. Plated elegantly which was pleasing on the eye. <br/>The surprise of the meal was the Bibimbap which had hints of the traditional Korean dish with subtle additions and flavours of the quinoa rice and accompanied by the succulent pork belly (an extra but highly recommended). It made the whole dish an excellent blend of old and new which in its setting seemed to sum up the place.<br/>Wait staff were courteous and helpful although at times, maybe due to the business of the place, were slow to react to our needs.<br/><br/>Overall a great meal and another place to definitely visit again

Major sprout what a place, love the interior (a wall of glass will win my heart every time) love the staff - the guy serving us did it exactly how it supposed to be done he was enthusiastic, friendly and efficient all credit to him! And lovedddd the food.<br/><br/>After some disappointing omelettes recently I took a gamble and ordered another one with prosciutto and it was amazing - completely restored my faith in the old omelette!! We ordered coffees which, all be it, I didn't absolutely love but they were hot and strong so I can't complain too much. We also ordered the big fill which came complete with pork belly and some beautiful home made baked beans. <br/><br/>Definite recommendation!!!

My work local, great coffee and delicious well priced food. Highly recommend the acai bowl and green eggs benedict. They serve storm and India tea which is delicious šŸ˜Š

I finally checked this place out for coffee one afternoon. I love the decor with its white interior and greenery. The service was pretty good. We only came here for coffee and I got the iced latte. It was good and it was fairly priced. I will definitely go back for the food next time.

Loved everything about this place. Only came here on a whim as everywhere else we wanted to go to seemed to be closed on a Sunday. Lunch was fantastic, beautiful single origin filter coffee on the menu, and friendly attentive staff. Have since recommended this place to everyone I know and they have also come back raving about it

Had seen this place constantly posted on Instagram so decided to give it a go, and it definitely lived up to the expectations.Ā <br/>We ordered the Seasonal Fruit and the Big Fill. The meals took about 10 minutes to arrive and were delicious. The pears in the Seasonal Fruit were perfectly poached, but there was a bit of a meat overload on the big fill.Ā <br/>Will definitely be back to try out everything else on the menu.

Sophisticated, fresh and inviting, three words I'd use to describe Major Sprout. The open space, white interior and pot plants give it a lovely clean, fresh feel while the metal framing and concrete floors give it a lovely industrial undertone. The menu has all the classics to keep everyone happy but they have their own take on each item. The big fill instantly caught my attention with pork belly, eggs, lamb sausages and more.. It really has it all! Smoothies were delicious too! Parking is pretty good for a city cafe and the staff were excellent. It definitely lived up to its name. Can't wait to come back!

I was really looking forward to trying Major Sprout because we love Dear Jervois. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The food was good but the portions were small and the prices were high. It's never a good thing to finish your meal and still feel hungry..

We have been here twice: the first time it was absolutely fantastic, food and drinks from the menu were delicious, seems a little pricey at first but definitely worth it. Second time was a little less impressive, we had cakes from the cabinet, they were very thick and heavy but the flavour was bland. We also got the same drinks we had the first time, but they were much less flavourful the second time around.Ā <br/><br/>Either way, overall we really like this place and will definitely be going back :)

Great environment, above average cafe. However, i personally find the portion a bit too small... eg: the beef burger.. But it was delicious, no doubt of that. šŸ‘šŸ»

One of the best cafes I have ever been to! Service was top notch, friendly staff and high quality food. Food presentation was gorgeous and delicious as much as it looks! The acai bowl was healthy, filling and the variety of fruits was amazing. Green eggs benedict was cooked to perfection; potato rosti was yummy, bacon full of favour! The juices especially apple is wonderful...the cakes from raw kitchen is a stunner! The atmosphere is great and decor is spacious yet comforting. Coming back soon :) Thank you Major Sprout!

Hands down my favourite cafe in Auckland. Food is beautifully presented and also tastes amazing. Great service, staff are super friendly, well presented and seem genuinely interested in how your day has gone. Menu changes regularly which is cool. Both coffee and the smoothies are delish too. I've had the green eggs bene, the acai bowl, the sous vide chicken and all were amazing, couldn't really fault this place.
Food 24/7
Heard many good things about this place and it definitely lived up to the hype ! <br/>Good service also topped up our sparking water repeatedly which is a major bonus ! <br/><br/>We ordered the Green eggs Benedict and Big Fill. The only negative was that the food took a long time to arrive and the place was not that busy .<br/><br/>Luckily the food did not disappoint, both of our dishes were so taste and full of flavour . Everything on the plate balanced so well with each other .<br/><br/>The highlight was the Big Fill's pork belly ! It was not a crispy skin pork belly for a change , the meat was tender and juicy, literally milted in the mouth. <br/><br/>Will definitely be returning to try other dishes on the menu !! <br/><br/><br/>

Service: 7/10<br/>Food: 7/10<br/>Cleanliness: 8/10<br/>Value for money:7/10<br/>Overall: 7.25/10<br/><br/>Above average cafe. Good environment for a Saturday brunch.<br/>

After read people comments about this place, actually I had a high expectations. <br/>Firstly when I come inside the place, it has a nice lighting and design. The staffs were friendly too. We didn't wait for long time for the foods. <br/>However, my rate for the foods about 3/5. For me the gnocchi was too mushy and eggs were too soft. But, the healthy style of bibimbap was delicious.

UPDATE (31.03.18)<br/><br/>This place used to be a premium Caffe with high level standards of services and quality. We are one of the first clients and we visit this place first time on the second week it was opened. <br/><br/>Since then we use to visit this place every single week and the quality of everything remained consistent throughout the year. This place was not your regular coffee shop where you pass by to grab your long black or eggs on toast and go home. It was a place to always try new and exotic flavours with a great level of taste and sophistication. It was a full experience package and we loved.<br/><br/>At that time this place was managed by James Bryant and a very talented team of people who always delivered a high level experience to its customers.<br/><br/>Today around 1 year later we arrived on this place and the first thing we saw was this cumbersome and old fashion wood podium on the front door with a piece of paper stick on it where you could read ā€œWait to be seatedā€ very similar to all these other cafes you pass by when you travelling country side. Thatā€™s definitely not something we expected in a place like that.<br/><br/>In addition, here just some of other things we noticed that have changed.<br/><br/>1 - When you arrive they use to serve you sparkling and tap water. Not anymore, Only tap water now.<br/><br/>2 - They would come to your table straight way after you sit and talk to you about new or seasonal dishes before taking your order. Not anymore.<br/><br/>3 - The food use to be always in high level of quality in terms of presentation and taste. Not anymore.<br/><br/>4 - They used to be very passionate people with great attention to details. Not anymore.<br/><br/>We are very disappointed with the new direction this place is taking from now and we are changing our review to reflect that change.<br/><br/>We sincerely hope the owners of this place are reading this review and will do something to get this place back on its original path.<br/><br/>ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”ā€”<br/><br/>We found this place on Zomato, we liked the menu and the reviews seemed really good, so we decided to give it a try.<br/><br/>It's a small and quite modern place with nice furniture, comfortable sofas and nice chairs. Really nice atmosphere and good vibe.<br/><br/>We ordered a Herbed Broken Eggs with Spargus, eggs on toast with freedom loaf, a long black and a latte with in-house almond milk. They didn't disappoint us, service was outstanding, the food was delicious and the presentation was just great.Ā <br/><br/>Aside from the nice food and good services, one of the staff told me they change menu weekly, so it's quite interesting for those ones looking for some sort of variety as well.Ā <br/><br/>I would like to highlight these guys are also vegan and vegetarian-friendly as well, they have all sort of dairy-free and gluten-free food, which is a plus if you are into a more healthy lifestyle.<br/><br/>If you are passing by victoria park and looking for some quick bites, I would strong recommend to give it a shot to this place.

Came here for my birthday brunch on Sunday - food and service was amazing!Ā <br/><br/>I had the compressed watermelon which was beautiful and very well presented. My favourite part was the nut crumble over the top - highly recommend this!<br/>We also had the full breakfast which came with pork belly - YUM, the mushroom gnoochi and the herb broken eggs. All the food was loved and highly recommend all four of these dishes!<br/><br/>The staff and the manager were all very attentive and helpful! They even gave us two complimentary birthday Nutella meringue baby cakes. Such a nice way to finish our brunch! Thank you Major Sprout, will be back again soon!!

In what I considered one of the most severely boring inner city streets slowly but surely there is a rejuvenation in progress where cool and funky eating houses are pushing out deadbeat cafes with no life. This street you may have had to venture down to get a LIM from the ACC but that was about all it was good for until now. Old habits die hard and I wasn't sure if it was worth the trouble coming down here until I saw the replenishment itself. Major Sprout is a shining beacon of where cafe culture has come to now andĀ perfectly fits the mould of other invigorating cafes such as Dear Jervois (same people :-), Catroux, Zomer, the list goes on. If you or your amatuer diner friends are ever nearby then I hope you will find a free table...

Major Sprout is our regular for fortnightly business meetings. The atmosphere is great and the space is very light. I'm a sucker for the Strawberry smoothie and the Mars cheesecake will satisfy your sweet tooth. Delicious food! I've also heard the green eggs benedict is a hit!
Kezia Lynch
A trendy spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch or just coffee! While the menu isn't that extensive they execute it well in a nicely decorated space with lovely staff. Parking is a nightmare but it's definitely worth a visit!

Such beautiful fresh food! Love the very berry smoothing and it's so refreshing to eat fresh strawberries. The staff were very patient with us as some of our table were a bit hangry! Thanks major sprout, it was a dream X

This place is the gold standard in the cafe scene. As soon as you walk in you feel calm thanks to its light, bright, airy and beautifully turned out decor. The staff are smiley, happy and friendly and give consistently wonderful service. They all make you feel so welcome which is a real pleasure. The coffee is a constant 10/10, the best there is. The food is inventive, beautifully presented and tastes amazing. I have enjoyed the green eggs benedict two days running, and I couldn't fault it. Sensational. Ā Major Sprout is perfection.

The newest place on Graham st and it was bustling when we checked it out. I fancied a hearty meal so went with the burger and fries plus bacon, because it's bacon....<br/>It was really good the bacon was amazing not crisp like I usually prefer but thick and and delicious! The burger and fries amazing but filling so I couldn't finish. I will definitely be going again to try some of the rest of their menu!
Amy @ My Dining Journey
From the creative team that brought us Dear Jervois, Major Sprout is a recent addition to the cafe scene in Auckland CBD. With floor to ceiling glass walls, spacious dining area and an eclectic display of light fixtures and floral arrangement, it screams sleek and sophistication. Head Chef Phil Czerwonatisā€™Ā menu has a green approach and offer dishes like a fresh and healthy version of the Korean Bibimbap,Ā quinoa and brown rice fritters and a mushroon and truffled gnocchi with a 62 degree henā€™s egg as well as sweet options in the cabinet by Raw Kitchen.

One of my new favourite cafes ! Okay update- THE fave cafe I've been to for brunch <br/>Prices were reasonable and food was amazing<br/>From presentation, service, quality of food and interior, it was superb<br/>Their cabinet menu expanded since they first opened- it's just getting better <br/>Oh and the cafe walls are mostly glass so a lot of sunshine can come through if you go on a nice day šŸ˜‚<br/>Definitely recommend !!<br/>The staff there are so nice as well- esp the Korean girl with the lovely smile! Best service :)

This is the second time I have been since opening in late Nov and I cant wait to go again to try out the rest of the menu!<br/><br/>Both meals I had were amazing and the people I was with all loved their meals, we are already taking about what day this week we can go back!<br/><br/>Staff are friendly and very helpful.<br/><br/>Can't wait to go back and work my way through the menu :)

Major sprout is a fairly new cafe hidden on the edge of CBD. The cafe has an extensive unique menu and it was simply so hard to decide! Settled for an eggs benedict and mushroom dish, both nicely presented and super yum.

Major Sprout is a very hipster cafe. For example, there is a barrister with a beard who is also a hipster, sourdough toast and quite a lot of succulents. Located in the city, it's smaller than what I expected, but the decor is very nice.<br/><br/>Their coffee is very good, one of the best I've had in auckland. The compressed watermelon and stonefruit with strawberry chia labneh was light, fresh and had a good texture contrast between the smooth labneh (strained yoghurt cheese), juicy watermelon and crunchy nut topping. I would have liked a bit more nut topping though, as the meal was not particularly substantial. (I ordered eggs on the side). It was very beautifully arranged though, extremely Instagram worthy. My buddy said her Eggs Benedict was very rich and filling, and she found it delicious!<br/><br/>Overall, I think this is a very nice place to visit in the city for some wholesome and creative meals, and I liked eating breakfast in the mid of the morning buzz. The acai bowl also looks very nice.

With how amazing Dear Jervois is I had high expectations for Major Sprout and it didn't disappoint. The interior and fit out for this cafe is incredible and has such a great feel to it. The staff are helpful and friendly. Two of us had the broken eggs and herbed asparagus and it was delicious, I also had a very berry smoothie which I highly recommend and my friend said the green smoothie was also great. My other friend had the burger and said it was one of the best burgers she had ever had and also highly rated the coffee. I will definitely be coming back here!!

Such an amazing place! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is so relaxing and calm! Really like the interior! They have a lot of vegan/vegetarian/gluten free and even refined sugar free options, like raw cakes, sushi rolls, salads etc. I ordered acai bowl, which was really nice, and my friends ordered cacao granola, which was a bit different to what they have expected, it was more like a cacao smoothie bowl with a bit of granola on top, yet it was delicious, creamy and quite filling! The portions were quite small, but it's not too bad. Both acai bowl and cacao granola were $15. Also they have nice coffees, and they can make it with homemade almond milk, which tastes delicious! Definitely recommend this place'

I was looking forward to the opening of Major Sprout, as I had enjoyed Dear Jervois, I do have a fair bit of higher expectation on this eatery. I went there a few days after their opening for lunch. Some new eatery upon their first opening month, you would be expecting a bit of unorganized or untrained staff but this doesn't seem to be the case in Major Sprout. There was a bit of a hiccups but weren't major and staff were truthful to tell us that they haven't managed to tried all the food yet as they just open but was still happy to give us an idea of what each dish like. It was pretty packed when I went there for lunch but the lovely staff managed to sit us down with a 10mins waiting time. She also explained to me to expect a 20mins wait for food, we totally understand based on looking at the lunch crowd. The decor was a stylish modern decor, I like the tree trunk like LED light facing the main entrance. Beautifully designed decor. <br/><br/>Me and my friend ordered Daily Market Fish and I ordered the Bibimbap add Pork Belly for our lunch. The food was amazingly fantastic, the only one comment, I shall say is, I didn't have enough of it! It will be great if it's slight bigger portion. <br/><br/>My friend order a raspberry lemon soda and I ordered the Blueberry & Basil Smoothie. Both drinks were amazing. The soda was refreshing and the smoothie had an impressive taste which I will to make at home soon, loving it! The only hiccup on this part was the guy that took our order apparently keyed in two of each drinks and they been popping over to us to offer us same drinks again, it was a minor mistake but all good, we would love to have more of it of course. <br/><br/>My overall review on Major Sprout, a big thumbs up to them for being so amazing!<br/><br/>Ambience / Decor: 5<br/><br/>Service: 5 - friendly staff and did informed us on wait time and got us a nice table and accommodate our request well for a seating<br/><br/>Food / Taste: 5 (based on Lunch menu)<br/><br/>Price: 5 - the price is reasonable based on the quality of food <br/><br/>Overall: 5

As if we weren't already impressed by Little King and Dear Jervois, Major Sprout is yet another amazing eatery that has recently popped up on Graham Street from the creative minds of David Lee & co.. Ā I was so glad to finally have the chance to try out this newly opened cafe located right next to Scratch Bakers HQ as I couldn't find the menu for the place anywhere. Upon entering, I was immediately impressed by the interior layout of the place. You could tell this cafe had some relation to Dear Jervois by noticing the extensive arrangement of pot plants and beautiful modern furniture and ofc, the types of plates and bowls they used. The place was also really spacious inside and had an amazing& bright atmosphere which made it a great place for a catch up with friends.<br/><br/>The front cabinet had a large variety of food on offer including multiple choices of sushi rolls composed of quinoa rice and unique ingredients such as mango, cucumber, avo and many more ( vegetarian options available); these were $2.20 each. Different types of cakes, slices and cookies were also on display; it was great to see they had various raw healthy options too such as bliss balls, a salted caramel tart, blueberry cheesecake and a raw tiramisu which were priced at around $8 each.<br/><br/>Kay time for the part that really matters, THE FOOD! The menu offered HEAPS of unique and wholesome all day breakfast and lunch options which cater for almost anybody's palette ( yes including GF, DF, Sugar Free and Vegetarian choices ;) ). It's probably my goal to come back to this cafe to try out each and every option, but for today I had decided on the Bibimbap, whereas my friends had opted for the angus beef burger, two of the sushis and also the Mocha Maca smoothie.<br/><br/>BiBimBap; 10/10 Hands down the nicest bibimbap I've ever had in Auckland city. This was different from the regular BiBimBaps you'd find in a korean restaurant as it was served on top of a combination of rice and quinoa and came with a delicious tofu crumble and a generous amount of sauteed mushrooms and spinach. Topped with the most perfectly poached egg and served with a small side of homemade chilli jam and kimchi; I could not fault a single thing about this dish. would HIGHLY recommend to anyone; for a price of $18 it was definitely money worth.<br/><br/>Angus beef burger: 8/10, although I had preferred the beef burger served at dear jervois slightly better due to the patty, this burger follows close behind in terms of taste and best of all, it comes with a side of crunchy potato skins and an interesting mayo-like dip ( not too sure what this was but it seemed to have hints of black sesame). The burger was packed full of flavour and the beef was accompanied perfectly by the relish and salad. $22, also extremely money worth.<br/><br/>Sushi: I didnt get to try this but my friend was relatively satisfied with the flavours; however she did say it was mostly just made out of rice. I would reccomend trying things off their kitchen menu instead :P<br/><br/>Mocha Maca smoothie: 7/10, if you're a coffee and a coconut lover, then this is the perfect smoothie for you! The combination of coconut milk went surprisingly well with the espresso shot, cocoa, banana and maca although it may be an acquired taste as it had an extremely interesting sourish aftertaste due to the coconut milk. Was super delicious in my opinion and very filling even tho it's served in a relatively small glass.Ā <br/><br/>Overall, I was immensely impressed with Major Sprout in regards to it's topnotch first class service, amazing atmosphere and presentation and of course their food (they also serve sparkling water which is a bonus in my books hehe). The prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food they serve you; I'll definitely be returning soon to try out every dish on their menu ;)<br/><br/>Dish of the day : BiBimBap

Was so excited to try this place out since it has the same owner as Dear Jervois. The cafe itself is really nice and the cabinet food alone looks amazing with lots of gluten free treats and their own sushi! Both myself and my friend tried the green eggs benedict with bacon which was really tasty. The strawberries and cream smoothie was YUM and is one to try. A bit pricey at $9 for a smallish glass though. Will definitely be back to try work my way through more of the menu
