Review Chuffed - Auckland Central

Christine Booker
We booked the cafe for my company's function. My guests are very happy with the food. The cafe played relaxed music and it has good atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed the night!
Verlyn Severson
Chuffed a nice cafe with some great bird died on the walls and murals on the buildings just outside the cafe that you can see through the windows. The avocado toast was delicious and this place is definitely worth a visit.
Carolina Cordero
Lovely brunch in a cute outdoor seating area. I was a little disappointed that they had recently changed the menu without updating the website and now seem to have fewer options (no crumpets 😔) but what they do have is great, I had the avocado toast with cured salmon on the side which was particularly good, my wife had the French toast and also enjoyed it.

Awesome little hidden Gem in the heart of the City, quick friendly service in a nice ambiance. Great tasting food aswell as Gluten- Free options. Well worth it to check it out for yourself.

While trying to kill a couple of hours after landing in Auckland I found this place. It was very comfortable and the scrambled eggs on sourdough toast were quite good. The service was friendly and unobtrusive. The place is cute and a little funky.

Great service and friendly staff members. I came with my toy dog and they were so accommodating. Food came fresh and yummy, we enjoyed our brunch, thank you :)

Amazing food, by far the best breakfast cafe i have been to within auckland and a beautiful atmosphere. 👏
Stephen Knights
What a lovely spot for brunch. The options were all amazing. Great service is a small cafe tucked down a corridor off High St. Take the time to search out this place.
Michael Aspinall
Tucked away, accessed through the street level corridor of an office building, surprisingly roomy once you get out onto the dining deck. Great coffee - small flat white with an extra shot was smooth and balanced. A range of beans available for sale. I didn’t eat - the food that was coming out for others looked great. I’ll definitely go back!

pick a outside seat if weather permitted. brown hash in Eggs benedict with bacon is housemade and really crispy and yum! hollandaise sauce is a little bit sour for me.

Hidden secret in Auckland CBD. On arrival we were greeted with sparkling water (at no additional cost) for our party of 5. We didn’t book so we were extremely lucky to get a table. It was a Tuesday so I would recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment as it became quite busy. The food came out super fast and the service was friendly. The meals were substantial and filled our bellies. We felt like we were eating at a local cafe instead of the CBD as the city noise was minimal. Glad we stumbled into this wonderful cafe. Highly recommend a visit.

Made a reservation. However, they didn't ask for our reservation, but we got seated really quickly anyway. It was quite busy, so I would recommend making a reservation if you do go. The food was really nice and big portions which were very filling. The restaurant has a nice breakfast vibe and helpful staff. Definitely recommend going for breakfast or brunch!

Wow - what a find! Excellent food and such a creative menu! Very kind service. I wish I had found them before the last day of my trip... I ended up getting two things and hoping one keeps for the flight! And, fellow Americans, if you're getting desperate for a drip coffee, they have a lovely iced drip!
Sarah BjĂžrndal
Good coffee and food, very nice place to sit in covered outdoor area. The cafe wasn’t busy but the food was still very slow. Some of the staff seemed very uninterested and were not pleasant to talk to, especially when asking a question about the menu and they did not really know the answer, nor did they bother to try to figure it out. Still a nice place to visit.

Would return. Decent coffee, hidden space, good brunch options. Latte was a good temperature, milk foam was par. Pricing par. $6+ large. Doesn't take AMEX.
Vadood Etminanbakhsh
Food was excellent, and I loved eggs with toulouse sausage. Coffee was also good but not the best coffee but maybe my expectation is high as I am used to coffee in Melbourne. Service was good but the waitstaff seemed to be confused.

There is only 1 word for this place....Awesome. the coffee was on point, the breakfast choices were well balanced and the food was exceptional. If there is a line, it's worth the wait, we came here twice on our trip and we will be back again next time.

Great hidden away gem in Auckland. Really interesting menu with great coffee to accompany. Plenty of seating around the back so don’t be mistaken when you see a more traditional coffee nook when you arrive. The crumpets are amazing!!! Absolutely worth the trip :) Great spot for a break when shopping the clothes stores in the area.

Restaurant Month menu was fab. I would highly recommend it.

Came here for lunch with my sister and enjoyed some delicious food and drinks. 😊 The cafe was very busy when we arrived (around 1:20pm), but we were lucky to grab the only free table left. Service was friendly and we ordered and received our meals promptly with no hassle.<br/><br/>I really enjoyed my cauliflower (the slight char on the cauliflower really complemented the sweet and savoury taste of the quinoa and hummus) and the fries were a great side to share.

We’ve been coming to Chuffed for a while now and are yet to be disappointed! The coffee is seriously the best coffee in town (Kudos to Mayank the Barista for a consistent cuppa)<br/>The service is amazing and the staff are always attentive and friendly. <br/>If you are lucky to get a table out at the back, the ambience is always lively yet cosy and intimate.<br/>The menu might need some refreshing as there are limited options, however this works for us as we always know what we are going to have:)

Came here for lunch with my friends and was quite disappointed. We had to wait to be seated for awhile, which was fine but they gave our table away a few times. The seating area outside was pretty but super tight. <br/><br/>I got the eggs on toast (poached) with vine tomatoes for $17.50 and it was honestly not worth it. Eggs were super small on a thin slice of sourdough. The eggs were cooked perfectly so that’s a plus! I also really liked how the sourdough was a bit garlicky so it tasted like garlic bread! <br/><br/>I don’t think I’ll be back unfortunately.
Amindha Fernando
Been here too many times to count. Their coffee is consistently great and the selection of sandwiches comes in handy if you need to grab something on the go. Stopped by for the chicken burger and it was awesome!

.<br/>📍 Chuffed Cafe<br/>☕ Moccamaster cold drip<br/>🍮 Almond Croissant<br/>-----------------------------------------------<br/>A hidden gem of a cafe, tucked down a corridor off the busy High Street. You'll be welcomed by a candyfloss pink neon sign in a moody little space. But there's a little twist, further in you'll find a semi-outdoor seating area with an entirely different atmostphere where you can just chill, relax, and coffee ❀.<br/>Ohhhh and Almond Croissant was such a beauty, with chewy and sweet centre, just the way we like it.
Renie
I normally get the crumpet. I could taste a bitterness from my salmon crumpet for some reason but I really enjoy the maple and pear one when I go. The outdoor seating area is very nice and relaxing. The staff are always friendly too!
Stephy_NakiGirl
Crumpets are one of their specialties & they are really good. Enjoyed the clotted cream & rhubarb. Blueberries were good too but there was a lot of liquid. Coffee was really great <br/>Service friendly
Natalie Yeo
This avo on toast was tiny! The egg was half the size of a normal egg and the actual toast was one small piece that was cut in half. Would not be paying $18 again for this dish especially after the 30min wait.
Jennifer L
Wow their blueberry muffin was amazing! I think its homemade đŸ„°đŸ„°

Amazing ambience. Love it more after interior changed. Eggs Benedict is getting better. They are on our egg benne collection on Instagram

Place was very busy, so only available spot was a four seating area, staff member didn’t tell me I can’t sit there. However the waitress who came to take my order gave me a look and extended her gaze over the cafe in a effort to show I shouldn’t sit here. Not impressed

High expectations, from all high ratings heavy promos. The cafe was hidden away from the street, at the back of a building. It opens up at the back into a cozy courtyard, perfect for the sunny day, except for the hovering flys. Had the eggs benedict with cured salmon. Instead of the normal bread base, it was served on buttermilk “biscuits”. The texture of the biscuit was odd, and it left a floury & buttery mouthfeel. Think I would’ve preferred a normal sourdough. The service was friendly.

one of my favorite cafe place in Akl, lovely neighbourhood with warm decorations.<br/>service is good and good to meet friends there<br/>love their coffee, can see their owner is really put their heart in this cute cafe<br/>highly recommended

Grabbed a quick coffee here last weekend, not gonna lie was quite disappointed. Have heard plenty of good things about this place but I personally didn’t think it was quite upto my standards. The cafe was very small and crowded, the staff didn’t serve our coffees for about 10-15 minutes to just get a coffee that wasn’t even that nice. This place didn’t even have flavour shots which left me shook as this is a coffee place. Probably won’t be back anytime soon!
Yenegh Badimayalew
Best moccachino in town. Not overly sweet 😋. Just perfect. Awesome service. Intuitive listening. They really go the extra mile. Thanks guys will be back. 💯
Karina
Came in for a coffee with a friend and we had to wait quite a while to get a menu - probably around 10 minutes. We both got iced mochas with coconut milk. The presentation was so pretty and they add ice cream into it which was so good, it makes it so much better and not many places do that. It was really good and sweet but I could only get through half of it as it got a little bitter for me towards the end. The cafe is hidden away in high street and is very small but has seating out back which is decorated beautifully. Recently came in with a friend and we both god iced lattes and they didn't have any flavour shots which she thought was odd and we had to wait quite a while for our coffees and when they came they were really pretty but they were so bitter and even adding sugar didn't really help so we were a bit disappointed.

Had a lovely brunch with friends here. Nice and artistic decor in the cafe. Fresh sparkling water served and love it. The Salmon Crumpets are fairly tasty but not enough for a hungry stomach. Shall try the pasta in the lunch menu next time.
Carol W.
My friend ordered the cauliflower, which was luscious with good texture and taste. My Bircher museli was delicious. Would like to go there again.
Sam Diprose
Came here for brunch, place was relatively empty when we arrived but came just before lunch rush I assume as it quickly filled. I ordered the sweet crumpets which were really good (cold which was unexpected but not unwelcome). Food was good, coffee was so so good. Service was fast and staff were really friendly. Would definitely come back

First,When served the cubano sandwich, the waiter just slamed the dish to my friend and one of the pieces fell out of the plate and he just left.<br/>Second, i ordered a fresh pasta it was under cooked sent it back to them. The waiter came to me said "This is el dente if you want to be overcooked you should tell me" in a very RUDE way. Apart from i am a chef who knows what an "El dente" is, a customer shouldn't have been treated like that and argued about it. I heard it is a very popular restaurant but i am very DISAPPOINTED about the service. Will never go there again and don't recommend.
Huang Jingjing
good location, nice coffee, I ordered chicken burger and it was delicious, the bun was soft with lots sesame on it and the chicken was juicy.<br/>one star off because my table was dirty and no one clean it before bringing the food on the table.
Krystal Reyland
Gorgeous hidden spot away from the bustle of the city. We were lucky to get a seat outside after a short wait. Coffee was delicious. Ruben was outstanding. Service was delightful.
Breadzania
A busy cafe on high Street. We had Almond coffee and it's rare to get yummy Almond coffee but this place gets it right.. The food is delicious too. Eggs benedict sauce is cooked perfectly. Yum!
Joanne Choueiri
The place is nice. It is a bit hidden but a sign on the outside will direct you to it. We were first seated outside to the left, by a door which led to the garbage bins. After rain, the smell coming from there is really bad so we asked to change seats. The coffee took over 20mins to come in and it wasn’t great. My partner couldn’t drink it. The food came in cold. The salmon we ordered on the side, for $7 you expect something relatively substantial not few small slices of it. Overall, from service to food, I wouldn’t come again, it’s not worth it.
Liam Roberts
Chuffed is 'the' cafe to be at in Auckland's bustling CBD. At the end of a long mirrored hallway, a foliage-filled oasis is revealed. With hanging plants, a flamingo mural, and a smoking hot waitress named Renee, this cafe not only has the best Eggs Bene in town, but exceptional service to match. Would recommend Chuffed for brunch, or a quick single origin on your commute to work!
MCP
A hidden gem on high street! a lovely cafe, has cozy and warm vibes. The outside seating has natural light and very cozy. Coffee was great and prompt service!

Went to lunch this afternoon, the omelettes that we ordered was pretty average and overcooked and way to salty. The bread on the side was very firm that it cut the mouth when I bit into it. Coffee wasn&#039;t as nice as I hoped it was going to be like the last time I visited. Overall a pretty average experience.
Tuna
I loved the cauliflower dish, it was so yummy and surprisingly filling for a vegetarian dish. the coffee was great too. My friend’s pasta was a bit average though.

This is a nice little Cafe on high street with a great breakfast menu (haven't had the chance to try out their lunch yet). I enjoyed their outdoor setting, there was natural light and it wasn't too cold or too warm. I ordered the Cubano, while my friends ordered the salmon Benedict, the chook, and a pasta. My favourite was their Benedict, the eggs were cooked perfectly, the hollandaise deliciously creamy, and most importantly their carb was not bread but a buttery and dense scone. My Cubano was also delicious, with the thick toasted ciabatta, tender pulled pork, complemented by ham, jalapeños, and mayonnaise. Would definitely come back to try out their other selections

Had the ‘Gin and Citrus cured salmon’ and I devoured it within 5 minutes! This was delicious but would’ve preferred if the sauce on the side was a tad sweeter. Apart from that the place got pretty busy and we had to sit on the outside table which wasn’t ideal. All in all the food is what we were there for and we left happy and full!
DB Eats
One of the best places in the CBD!<br/><br/>A little hidden gem with an awesome atmosphere. The food and coffee are delicious, and the staff are super friendly. <br/><br/>Their zucchini omelette is one of the best I’ve had! And I love that they have coconut milk for coffees. <br/><br/>It’s always busy when I go, yet they have always been able to seat me no trouble. 100% would recommend!
Asianfoodie
A lovely brunch place tucked away in a nice cosy space. The menu I tried were the crumpets and the banana porridge. Both were fantastic!!<br/><br/>Staff are attentive and really nice, and the ambience is warm and fuzzy.

Hidden away in High Street, you may need to look a little harder to find this place but Chuffed is definitely worth the extra look! It's cozy and tiny setting make it intimate and a fantastic place to have brunch or catch up with friends.<br/><br/>The staff here are excellent, they are all very friendly and willing to make your experience here the best it can be. The service is also good and I have had no quarrels in this department, food and coffee always comes out a a reasonable rate. <br/><br/>The food here is a real winner, it is absolutely delicious and has a good menu for gluten free individuals. I often get the chicken sandwich or the meatball sub and I absolutely love them, the flavours are awesome and the food is so wonderfully simple and comforting, which compliments the cozy setting. My partner often gets the banana bread which she loves and would definitely recommend. The only thing here that doesn't give this place the fifth star is the coffee. Unfortunately it isn't the best, it is okay but nothing to write home about. It is a bit of a disappointment as it is a really good brunch spot otherwise. So, if you are in need of excellent coffee then this may not be the place, but don't be deterred as the food is impeccable and the coffee isn't enough of a drawback in my opinion.<br/><br/>The aesthetic and setting here is also another winner and really makes the place feel cozy and comforting. It is super light and modern, with a ceiling that opens up providing a non-claustrophobic feeling in a really small space. So the space is very nice and makes you want to spend hours there conversing with your company which is extremely important. Therefore, it is a very conversational space due to the comfortable feeling. The seating arrangement is also good and fits well into the space. <br/><br/>Overall, this is a fantastic brunch spot that I would recommend to anyone! The food is awesome and comforting, the staff are friendly, the service good, and setting is great. It makes you want to stay there for a long time which is good because you won't be disappointed. However, remember if you a craving excellent coffee then this isn't the place in my opinion, but don't let that deter you. Awesome place!

We had the lamb shoulder here. It was delicious. I don't like the coffee because it tasted a bit sour. I like the decoration of the store. The service is average.

I have been to this cafe many times. The food is average. But this time I ordered an ice Americano. To be honest, I really don't like it. It is tasted a bit sour. I think it is weird. I an not sure you guys use fresh coffee been or not.

Trully High Street's best hidden secret. <br/><br/>I love the ambience so much! The place is tiny but not cramped. It is very nicely decorated; has that minimalist shabby chic kind of vibe.<br/><br/>The food is delicious too. The sauce on the meatball sub is flavorful. The mixed mushroom is tasty. <br/><br/>A go-to brunch place!

This cafe is quite popular in high street with nice ambiance. I ordered an omelette last time. It looks good but  tasted a bit salty. The customer service is warm.

A versatile cafe for a quick coffee fix, to catch up with friends, quick breakfast before work and even to have lunch during your lunch break. The area around the back is unique, equipped with warm fur on each seat and heaters so that you don't feel cold during the winter. Service is great and so is the coffee and food. I ordered the pear crumpets which is a sweet breakfast dish, with poached pear and cream served on two pieces of thick round crumpets drenched in maple syrup.

A hidden gem on High street. Outdoor seatings under the sunroof with a cozy ambience.<br/><br/>Beautiful decorated food with exceptional tastes. Great for brunches.<br/><br/>The lock on the restroom door is a little confusing to lock.<br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Food presentation: 9/10<br/>Service: 8/10<br/>Location: 6/10<br/>Ambience: 7/10<br/>Price $20 per person

Chuffed iced mocha's are so damn amazing! every time i'm in town i get an iced mocha from here. I've only tried the iced mocha so i can't say anything about the food or any other drinks at this cafe. The iced mocha has ice cream in it which makes it sweeter so perfect if you aren't such a big fan of the bitter coffee flavour! The takeaway iced mocha comes in a plastic cup with a flat lid and flit lids on takeaway drinks bring a smile to my face and also make such a cute photo, defiantly recommend going here even if it's just to try the iced mocha, it's defiantly a yes from me. 10/10 for sure. I've recently come back many times actually too many times I'm way too obsessed with their Iced Mocha's they're so fricken good omg!!!!!!!! x

Picked the Salash chorizo omelette for breakfast. Sourdough bread was awesome but I wished the chorizo was a bit spicier. Manchego cheese was a nice touch. Venues tucked down a little alley way but not hard to find. They give you jugs of sparkling water they speak my language on that
Lana
Always the freshest, best muffins! I'm a bit of a muffin addict and have tried all of the cafes along High Street and Chuffed's are 100% the best.  Great coffee too although it can be a little on the slow side (but if you're not in a rush then it's all good). Yet to stop in for a sit down breakfast/brunch/lunch but this is definitely on my list of things to do soon. Super friendly staff too.
Wendy Wang
Food tastes really good, and the place is inside a building, not hard to find, as there is a sign outside on the high street. Would like to go back for brunch next times.
Aimee.
This place offers exceptional food, service and coffee. I ordered an iced mocha which wasn’t overly sweet like a lot of places and the eggs Benedict which was perfectly cooked and delicious.
Ieseon
I love coming into this place for brunch. I especially love the small garden/courtyard area at the back where we normally sit. The ambience kinda gives you a nature vibe stuck in the city. The staff are friendly and the food is good. I asked to make the mixed mushroom to be made vegan and that wasn’t an issue for them! So I was delighted. It tastes so good too! I had my iced soy latte and that was great too! It’s a hidden gem this place amongst the buildings of high street, and it’s worth a visit :)
Coffee Macarons
Ordered 2 iced lattes which were great in taste. The atmosphere was warming. But my stomach did not like the milk..<br/>If you’re a person with a sensitive stomach, please be careful with the dairy products here..

The last time I spent in Auckland I went to Chuffed both days. The first day I had the scone with avo and Salmon. This was well presented and tasted amazing. Next was the eggs bene with bacon. No faults here either. Coffee was well made too. Their customer service was great too. We nearly left a because we wanted to sit outside but the manager took great care of us and we were seated in no time.
Jenny Kim
Had the green bowl, the veggies were cooked perfectly and the avocado was perfect too! Only bad part was the toast was quite soggy and the egg was very well done.
Vita
Chuffed is a secluded spot on High St that lends itself to a charming atmosphere and outdoor seating. The environment can get busy so they have implemented ordering online to speed up the lunch process for those who are on the go.<br/><br/>We came for a Saturday brunch and were met with friendly service. Our main dishes consisted of Chuffed's infamous Eggs Benny, poached eggs on sourdough, a grilled cheese sandwich (not pictured) and a vegan coconut, blueberry and pear loaf for dessert. The eggs benny comes with melt-in-your-mouth biscuits and lovely bacon albeit the sauce - I was told - tasted like the packet ones you make at home. The poached eggs on sourdough was good, a standard non fussy meal. The grilled cheese was delicious, no skimping on the cheese and ham in this one!<br/><br/>My favorite had to be the vegan coconut loaf served with coconut yogurt. It was flavourful, indulgent and brimming with texture after each bite.<br/><br/>Overall, I highly recommend this place, not just because of the cosy environment but the food is well worth it and the variety will make you want to return for more.
Floyd Moratti
This is the go to cafe for coffee. The senior batistas here are top of the line. Although the food is a little different and not quite my taste, the dining area is cosy and warmth. This place is always packed and no wonder because it serves the best coffee in town
Sofie Yeung
Cozy little spot that’s perfect for get-togethers for friends!! Lovely variety of healthy, delicious food! Coffee is average, service is great and the decor is lovely :)
Vanessa Gao
First time here and wow it’s such a hidden gem in the city. The space is small but cozy with friendly service. The portions are large and beautifully presented. The portobello mushroom was wonderfully cooked, while the egg and sourdough bread tasted fresh and well done. This is a place you definitely want to come back for a chill environment to relax with good food.
Eunifoodie
This rating is only for their coffee as I only got takeaway coffee here. Their coffee making is by al means not bad at all, I’m just not the biggest blend of the blend they have. Objectively, I can see why this place is worth the high rating. Would definitely come and try the food here one day.
Dani
Cool vibe, super comfy and such a nice atmosphere overall. Loved the aesthetics of this place, especially the artwork. Food was filling and delicious, loved the chorizo omelette with sourdough, berry smoothie was nice and refreshing too. Would definitely come back again.
Alexis D.
Such a beautiful café. Really sophisticated, artsy and just wow. And the food! Ugh, the coffee, even the water is sparkling! The service is great and Scott, the owner is flippin' awesome! Perfect place to get away and hide from office work and busy Auckland city. The graffiti on the walls were just mesmerizing. Attention to details is on point! Menu's got a good range, but those fluffy seats though!<br/><br/>Can I come live here?!
Sarah Leigh
Great coffee as always and lovely ambience in the courtyard! Will be back to try their food too, wish you guys could open longer hours though.
LilianMonaghan
Ordered chai latte and omelet. Coffee was awesome and the omelet was super delicious, and you will definitely feel chuffed with the outside dining area which you can enjoy the sunshine and the hustle and bustle of this lovely cafe. The only thing that maybe disappoint you is the long waiting time for your food to be served because this gem is super popular and this time we waited for nearly one hour to get our food on the table.
Susan Lazarus
Some of the best fish I’ve had around the city. The dishes are interesting and tasty. The restaurant itself is nice, especially the bar/lounge upstairs. The servers were good. The drawbacks are the price and sometimes small portion sizes.
Jewel
Very busy cafe everytime I want to eat breakfast but see a lot of people in the cafe. They food was nice I like my scrambled eegs coffee is the best. We enjoy here only waiting too long.
Liz Scott
Very very good food! I tried the eggs bene without any sides. I was so thrilled with the fact that I got to try American biscuits. There was a lot of noise (which is a good sign that it’s successful) but I loved the fact that we were outside and yet enclosed at the same time.
Tawna Whitford
This cafe is bit snug and not much seating, so you’re trying your luck when you come here at lunchtime. We went for the Philly Cheese Steak, but were disappointed when our server told us they changed the menu. I ended up with the reuben sandwich, which was pretty dry and didn’t have a lot of flavour. The coffee was quite nice, though.
Ankita Langa
My favorite cafe in the city, lovely decor, delicious food and amazing customer service! I got the mushroom roll and the fruit smoothie.<br/><br/>Mushroom roll was nicely made, the crumbled feta was just awesome and it was really filling. Smoothie was nice too. The staff is the best, polite and friendly.<br/><br/>It's a great place to work from or catch up with friends. Kudos to the staff for being so amazing!
Surbhi
My overall experience was killed after receiving the drinks. I don’t mind paying $7 for fresh juice but not if the glass is half full of ice. It’s like cheating in a way.
Pat
Bad customer service,<br/>Food is not good<br/>not recommended, <br/>not very easy to find, <br/>the place is quite small, <br/>Will recommend other coffee places on high street<br/><br/> <br/>

Came here for brunch the other day. Can be a little hard to find cause its inside of a building, but there are plenty of signs outside which point you to the right place. <br/>If you’re looking to go here for brunch, definitely make a reservation. They have amazing iced coffee, which they’re happy to put in a takeaway cup if you want as well! <br/>The service was lovely and I absolutely loved the Philly cheese steak I ordered. <br/>Will be back soon to try out more of the menu!
Khalid Aqeel
I went there just to try their coffee as they had a good rating, but i guess people were rating their food not their coffee. I ordered it extra hot and i got a warm and milky coffee
Darren Big Belly
Good casual cafe. Food and coffee was nice. Environment and setting clean and tidy. <br/>Nothing really wow’d me. <br/>Would come again though, but not make a trip out of it.

I had heard good things about Chuffed from multiple friends, and I visited twice before writing this review because I really wanted to be a fan. Overall I feel neutral about this cafĂ©; I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit but I wouldn’t detract anyone from going either. There’s not a huge range to choose from on their menu, but I’m grateful for the option to order breakfast food at lunchtime. It seems to have decent vegan and vegetarian items along with cabinet food too.<br/><br/>No complaints about the coffee and mocha that I’ve tried here. The first time I visited was for breakfast in 2017, where I had scrambled eggs. These had great texture but were a little salty. There wasn't enough toast for the eggs, but the side of avocado was generous. <br/><br/>I visited more recently in June 2018 during a fairly busy late lunch period, where I finished my coffee before the eggs benedict with portobello mushrooms came out. While the food wasn't piping hot, I did like that the sauce was creamy and not tart. I was surprisingly full by the end of it.<br/><br/>Both times I visited Chuffed, I sat out back. I imagine it’d be perfect in summer, but in other seasons it’s a bit hit-and-miss because you are still somewhat affected by the weather. One of the tables I sat at was a bit wobbly too.<br/><br/>Service-wise, most staff were friendly and the cafĂ© had a nice overall vibe.
Vic
Came here this afternoon with a friend to grab a drink and chat. The service was slow in the afternoon and I was underwhelmed with the iced chai latte. It was small and the taste just wasn't quiet right. There were also a lot of bugs flying about.
Nade
Good little cafe to grab lunch in town. Coffee was ok and service was a bit slow but the food made up for it. Was a large portion and reasonably priced considering. Overall happy after my visit
Sonia Son
ordered egg benedict with hot americano. The coffee is amazing, the ambience was superb because it was raining outside. The food was good. Perfect place to have brunch on the weekendsđŸ‘ŒđŸ»

I have been chuffed customer for many years, their are professionalism is always in a high level. I have brought a lot of friends here to enjoy the coffee. But today I order my mocha, you gave me a flatwhite, then when I point out this is a wrong order, you just put a bit chocolate sauce in the flatwhite. Very disappointing service

Uni is so close by to this cafe so I’m surprised I haven’t visited this joint sooner! Cute cafe with beautiful bird paintings, friendly staff and great menu variety. Wanted to try something new so I opted for the Philly Cheese Steak. It is so bloody good, Steak was cooked perfectly, cheese was melted and the sauce was tangy and sweet. Will get again when I visit!

You can almost say this one is like a hidden gem, just waiting to be discovered.<br/>A simple but very warm and modern place with a good outdoor area to enjoy the day.<br/>My suggestion: try the Philly cheese steak which is my personnel favourite and their juices are quite good.<br/>Good place to catch up.<br/>Recommended

Awesome eggs benny with salmon, beautifully cured and not old and slimy which is what gets me with salmon. And such good hollandaise. Ah just good. Coffee was a bit less than awesome but still good. I’m just spoilt. Sorry there’s no photos, I was too hungry and forgot.

Nice cafe hiding in high St. Delicious food, but the portions are less than others.Stand coffee, ordered cappuccino but the froth like flat white. First time to try cold drip. I’d like to say, it is good to drink in summer.

Totally agreed that this cafe is a hidden gem in the city centre. I ordered zucchini omelette with sourdough and first of all the appearance was totally instagram-able. Zucchini was really well pickled. I also ordered a snicker shake. The comment I would have for this shake is that it was really ‘banana’ (there’s banana included in the shake) but somehow the strong taste of banana seemed to overrule the taste of snicker bar and other chocolate stuff.<br/>I personally found the food quite pricey (the serving was not big esp shakes or smoothes. But still worth trying it!<br/>Food: 7/10<br/>Service:10/10<br/>Price: 6/10

I am sorry to give a lower rating compared to the average. We probably ordered the wrong thing as most of us did not think our food were exceptional and outstanding. <br/><br/>We went to Chuffed for a group catch up. Waited for about 20 mins then got a nice table in the corner which was good. The atmosphere we quite like. <br/><br/>I ordered vegetarian quiche and a pot of tea, others ordered chorizo omelette, mushroom dish, same vege quiche, and coffees. We did not enjoyed the vege quiche as much (relish was superb though) where the omelette flavour combination was quite good.<br/><br/>I might be back for the tapas dinner but not in a hurry for the brunch. <br/><br/>On the + notes, they have a good selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes. <br/><br/>

One of Auckland‘s hidden gems! Very nice to be sitting in their open back yard. The iced coffee was yummy and the salmon and avocado crumpets were even better!

Decided to try out this cafe for lunch today after uni.<br/>Cabinet food looked very appetising so we had a hard time deciding. <br/>Got the ham and tomato quiche and the banana walnut loaf. <br/>The flakey crust of the quiche was very nice to eat as each layer was able to be separated from the other. One of the best quiche bases I have had at a cafe. <br/>The banana and walnut loaf proved to be a good choice. The outer layer tasted the best and the loaf did not need butter to enhance its already sweet natural flavour. It almost tasted like a cake itself. The sauce that came with the quiche was also tasted great. <br/>Would come again to try the menu items. Environment was very calm and peaceful.

We were chuffed after our visit on Mother’s Day. Plenty of sunlight in the back room after they opened up the roof. This pretty little cafe was bright and cheery and the menu super interesting. We tried in house crumpets both ways, one with lime, gin and juniper cured salmon and a beetroot purĂ©e, the other a delightful ginger poached poached pear. The semolina porridge was super warming and berry compote could be mixed in to give as much or as little sweetness as required. I could see why the coffee was rated and I tried the Blackpower smoothie which was a well balanced blend of blackberries, blueberries, coconut and mint. All up a fabulous brunch and a happy mother.

I was really disappointed with my first visit trying this place after reading such great reviews (and also recommending it to friends from out of town to try).<br/>The staff were lovely & attentive & the food did look good. But was let down by quality control.<br/>My flat white looked great, but in my first sip the milk was far too hot & I burnt my tongue 😔<br/>Then when my eggs bene came out it looked delightful, but when I unstacked it the bagel on the bottom was burnt black & had still been served to me. There's no way your staff couldn't have seen how black it was!<br/>When I showed it to one of the staff she was apologetic & took the dish away & replaced it very quickly. Also they took the dish off my bill (which was unnecessary I felt but a pleasant surprise). I would have been happy enough if they had just replaced the burnt half of the bagel.<br/>Would have scored much higher if quality control of what you are serving had existed. Hopefully you can take this feedback to improve in the future.

I think I need a residence here. Hidden away on High Street, this cozy places serves up some great beverages and excellent vibes. The staff are really friendly, and it's not often you see table order & service for coffee!

My friends and I found nothing but amazing service at Chuffed and the food was truly delicious. Two out of three of us ordered hot drinks and this was on ANZAC Day so our drinks came with cute little ANZAC biscuits. When our waiter arrived with our drinks he noticed my friend with no drink was left out of the biscuit club so he brought out a biscuit for her! If that's not indicative of the service here then I don't know what is. You can see pictures of the food and how good it looks (it does taste good too) but I guess you never know what the service will be like so here is a review of that

Definitely one of the go to places for brunch if you’re around CBD. A huge plus for me is definitely the friendly staff with excellent service and the ambience which is warm, comfortable, stylish and welcoming. Most importantly the food is great also although it’s on the pricey end. <br/><br/>I ordered the eggs Benedict with bacon and I must say I was impressed at how fresh and crunchy the bacon was without it being burnt! Eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce wasn’t as strong which is just the way I like it. <br/><br/>The menu variety isn’t much however everything they make is of excellent quality! <br/><br/>Food 8/10<br/>Service 7.5/10<br/>Ambience 8/10<br/>Price 6/10

We got here as a group of 5 around 11am and ordered coffees, Chorizo Omelette, Eggs Benedict, Chicken Sandwich, Scrambled eggs on Toast, Mushroom Baguette and a Croissant. <br/><br/>The food looked amazing and tasted really good too. The Hollandaise sauce on the Eggs Bene is out of this world. Beautiful smokey flavour runs through it. However, the omelette was a slight let down. I was expecting a nice fluffy omelette but got a thin layer of egg instead :/ <br/><br/>Great ambience. We finally sat out the back. Enjoyed the vibe. Our servers were great too - friendly and polite. <br/><br/>Will be back. Especially for the coffee!

Love this place, went in for a late breakfast on a Sunday. Great service! Especially recommend their Puerto Rican Smoothie, it’s super filling and it just tastes like summer! Eggs Benedict were amazing aswell, the feta added a twist to it. Would definitely recommend this place.

Not too much surprising experience from this restaurant. It seems like all the dishes are not served from a restaurant but home. The ingredients are definite fresh and well-picked, all they need to do is mix them together and send to your table. Customers who pick this place to dive in may because of their convenient location and their quick services. Some people just order coffee or tea while they are busy on their business with laptop.

Another one of High Streets secrets... Love the murals and atmosphere! The food took a little while to come but that’s only because they are very popular. The staff were friendly and happy to help when asked.

Had the chorizo omelette and a coconut cappuccino and I was very happy with my meal. The omelette had many strong elements but somehow they all went very well together.<br/><br/>The service was excellent and I loved that they serve sparkling water as opposed to still. <br/><br/>Good ambiance, not overly loud like many other brunch places.<br/><br/>Will be going back again.

Great coffee on a mid morning Sunday brunch! Have heard lots about chuffed and was pleasantly surprised that my expectations were met. Great atmosphere - sitting outside with the roof top and seeing skyline was awesome, love me some sparkling water and as mentioned earlier coffee was fab! The chorizo omelette pictured was also very yummy - something I wouldn’t usually order so am happy I did! All in all lovely experience & I will be back - great spot and not as busy as I thought it would be albeit there was not a spare seat in the house :)

Cafes have nowhere to hide when serving brunch. Meals are your simple needs and for the first meal of the day when people are starving or worse hungover, brunch is there to fulfil that void. Recently moving closer to the city chic apartment life, I am trying to devour myself into my new locals i.e city cafes, bars and restaurants. No more excuses on being too lazy to drive and park in the city. Ok so number 1 on my city eating comes Chuffed Cafe located on High Street.

Was almost giving up on finding a good cafe on a Sunday morning, but then I found Chuffed, a hidden gem in the heart of CBD.<br/><br/>The place is lovely, has a charming backyard. Staff is lovely, coffee is nice (Red Rabbit) and the menu is good, with also some cabinet food if you're on the run.<br/><br/>They also offer sparkling water, which is a plus for me.<br/><br/>Strongly recommended.

Tried Chuffed for Lunch yesterday. It wasn’t as busy as I was expecting. I guess it’s more popular for breakfasts. We tried everything from cabinet- Mushroom Roll, Poached Chicken Sandwich and Cheese Toastie. Iced coffee, berry smoothie and Iced Crosset Chai for the drinks. The food was delicious and was full of flavours!! Everyone loved it!!! The service was friendly and the decor was cute!! I’m definitely going back again! đŸ‘ŒđŸ»

What a pleasant surprise to find a covered courtyard tucked away down the back of High Street. Excellent coffee (including brewed) and a stimulating menu makes this place a winner. Friendly service too.

Love this place, the food and service can't be faulted. It's very quaint and peaceful, quite hard to find something like this in the busy cit area. I love the fizzy water and the nice little touches to the table. I love the relaxed atmosphere and the food tasted down to earth, original...love it all.

Tucked away from street view, we were really chuffed to have found this little ‘back alley’ hangout. The atmosphere is laid back and the setup is interesting - perfect for a Sunday outing and quick bite to eat. <br/><br/> The menu isn’t huge but has a wide enough variety for breakfast (starting from $11) and a few interesting options for lunch with a number of pre-made foods, if time isn’t on your side. We shared a Poached Chicken Sandwich and it was mouth-wateringly delicious! <br/>The only downside was the slow service, it is busy so you may have to be patient.
Ilenia Chandra
Stumbled across Chuffed by chance since a colleague wanted to grab coffee from here, and ended up pleasantly surprised. Such a delightful tuck away on High Street with serene, urban interior and friendly staff! Hot chocolate was good but can I say the quiche blew me away- best quiche I’ve ever had and I’m a huge quiche fan so ka pai Chuffed! It was quite big and fulfilling at a good price. Will definitely come back again during lunch breaks.

Came here for late breakfast during the week so not too busy... quirky cafe with friendly staff..smallish outdoor area but well setup... nice breakfast menu. We had the crumpets with salmon & side of smoked feta... yum.. and the mushroom medley with side of bacon... really nice too. Just personal preference I prefer still water for breakfast didn’t realise it was sparkling as they don’t ask/check.
Liz Bradley
The coffee is THE BEST coffee I have ever had (and I don’t use capital letters with abandon like that unless I really mean it!) Delightful hardworking staff who never made us feel rushed and took time to be helpful. The kitchen made one of the best most delicious and attractive custom omelette for the New Yorker, we have ever seen and tasted. My salmon crumpet was a delightfully subtle creamy little dish. Definitely going back.

Nice interior. Friendly staff. Awesome coffee, Food was not stunning but above average. We had philly cheese steak which was cooked perfectly and smoked mushroom medley which was too salty.

we ordered: the eggs Benedict $14 đŸ„š. Too salty and bagel bread was a little soggy . Was expecting some side such as a small salad or chips, but nothing. 😐Could add bacon or mushrooms for $5đŸ„“ (a little overpriced if you ask me). However, tried other things on the menu which were really nice such as the cauliflower on the dinner menu (10/10) <br/>Average price: $22 incluing drinks <br/>Vibes: light meal with friends after shopping on High St đŸ’đŸŒ<br/>Parking: no free parking around the area. Public transport is your friend🚝. Parking available on Wilson car park on High St (around $4/hr) <br/>Negative: food today wasn’t nice, busy<br/>Loved: FREE SPARKLING WATER! 💘🏝Beautiful bright atmosphere🌈🌞, lovely outdoor sitting area, nice view of street art, 10/10 for interior design. <br/>Friendly staff, cute cosy place. <br/>Overall rating: 7

Staff were attentive and bubbly, aside from a minor confusion in payment at the end of my visit. I got the eggs bene with bacon with a side of Avo and a black coffee. Everything was perfect!! beautiful hollandaise sauce which is hard to come by nowadays, most are way too rich for my liking but Chuffed has hit the nail on the head :))) Ambience was uplifting, even on such a miserable rainy day on Saturday!
Sally S
Their mushrooms are amazing but the eggs benedict wasn't the best, a bit overpriced as well. Ambience in the outdoor seating area was very nice and the service was alright.
Holly Grey
Came here at a peak time on Saturday but managed to get a seat. Although it was busy the service did not fault with a cheerful and lovely atmosphere of the service how food came out in a timely manner as well as our coffees.<br/><br/>We came on a day that were out of chicken and salmon but nevertheless, what we ordered was still delicious! I ordered the eggs benedict with mushroom and this was delicious. My coffee was lovely too. Very pleasant cafe to be at and will be coming back next time im up on high st.

Chuffed is a hidden gem in the central city. When I went, it was one of the only cafes open during the holiday break and the courtyard was very busy. The menu is clear for those with dietary preferences. The coffee is good and is the food. I had crumpets (very fluffy and light compared to the rubbery supermarket ones) with avocado, beetroot and salmon. It was fresh and tasty - not too sweet which purée often can be. Would happily visit again!
Louise
We got the picked zucchini omelette and the smoked mushrooms. The omelette was so light and the feta went so well with the tart zucchini. <br/>The smoked mushrooms came out less saucy than expected as most cafés like to do a creamy mushroom on toast. Nonetheless it was by no means dry. We both finished our meals with our plates clean which showed great portioning and great taste. <br/><br/>On our way out my eyes cast on a very tasty looking provolone scone at the counter which will definitely bring me back here.

"Hidden gem" indeed!! I recently discovered this place when I was walking, decorated so lovely, service is so good! And the drinks were so good, I'll be back to try the food!

Good food and good coffee.<br/>Service mishap with thirty minute coffee delay 😁<br/><br/>Poached pear crumpets tasted as you would imagine. Eggs benedict with salmon likewise.<br/>

Thoroughly impressed with this neat little hide out in the middle of High St! The graffiti wall entrance feels like a contemporary art gallery and the back yard has such a cozy comfy atmosphere for catch ups. Hearty food and extremely well done coffees. Will pop in again đŸ‘ŒđŸŒ

This is personal but I do not like this place. The place is I suppose, quite nice. Not the best coffee but pretty good. Cooked food is very good, cabinets ok.

Second time here, my first time was on a Sunday morning; the second at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. <br/><br/>My impressions from the Sunday visit was average; didn’t get why everyone raved about Chuffed. But today I understood why. <br/><br/>Service is probably what hits you first when walking in; greeted by two very cheerful smiles behind the counter. I was going to get something from the cabinet at first but I ended up with a table (by myself ha). I got the Cauliflower and Quinoa Salad with a side of Smoked Salmon. The seating area was beautiful with sunlight peeping through— loved the paintings on the wall too! <br/><br/>The quinoa was a bit dry and a tad hard, and quite frankly, a bit bland and hence hard to swallow. The cauliflower purĂ©e on the side definitely made it less of a mission. The cauliflower itself was both soft and crunchy at the right places, grilled and had enough flavour. The cherry tomatoes were the perfect touch to it! Smoked salmon was delightful, which I used to mop up the last of the purĂ©e and quinoa. <br/><br/>I originally wanted their Lamb Shoulder but they sold out :( will be back for that! <br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Price: 8/10<br/>Ambience: 10/10<br/>Service: 10/10
Sophia
Service and Coffee is definitely great here but food could be better.<br/><br/>Other food may taste nice but unfortunately, had a omelette but it was overcooked(rubbery instead of smooth) and mixture was not beaten well enough as often the omelette tasted just like pure salt.
Sam Kc
Finding “Chuffed” didn’t take to long for us considering it is not directly on a street, just keep your eyes peeled for the street sign above the sidewalk. <br/>A very cute setting in the back of a city building, complete with an open balcony and roller-blinds to keep out the unwanted elements. <br/>Quirky decor and street art surrounds the back-of-house that fits in well with the menu. <br/>Choosing the poached pear crumpets with velvet cream was a fantastic decision by myself. A sweet tooth’s dream. I loved the addition of the cream, as it mellows down all the sugar. If your not a sugar fan I would suggest sharing this with someone else...I almost finished the whole thing. <br/>This was the best breakfast I have had in a while! Simple but re-imagined. If you taste each component individually it leaves you unsatisfied but all together is a dream. <br/>Fairly busy when we went around brunch o’clock but had no issues with getting a table or noise. <br/>When I’m back in Auckland, this is my return list.
Amanda Panda
Chuffed is my favourite place for brunch in Auckland. Lovely ambiance on the cozy deck, and super friendly staff. The best thing on the menu is the herbed kale! Its so amazingly good, try it with your eggs next time.

Such nice environment and vibes with outdoor seating. The sandwiches were amazing - had the poached chicken one. I also like how it was table service paying after you eat. Would definitely come here again.

Came here on a Monday for lunch and the place was full. The service was okay as we were just left by ourselves when our food came. The day was pretty cold and windy, so thank god for the heater they had in the back.<br/><br/>We ordered the philly cheese steak and the lamb shoulders which was actually out of stock so they had to replace the lamb with crispy pork belly. <br/><br/>The crispy pork belly wasn’t that special because it had no distinct flavor for the meat itself (tasted like poached pork belly). The sauce at the bottom of the dish however, was sweet as it tasted like honey. Rather than flavors, this dish was full of different textures from the crispness of the pork to the soft crunchy texture of the chickpeas. <br/><br/>The philly cheese steak was a blast of flavors even though the bread was a little hard to cut and the food was warm. The steak was cooked and seasoned nicely to medium rare and the vegetables, along with the melted cheese, were all sautĂ©ed and caramelized really well. The pickles, acted like lemons, had a crunchy texture and tasted sweet and sour which created the perfect balance for the sautĂ©ed ingredients. This dish is more towards the comfort food, or hangover food.<br/><br/>Taste - 7.5/10<br/>Size - 8/10<br/>Service - 7/10<br/>Price - 7/10<br/>

So impressed with this place! Had the perfect coffee, great service, simple but delicious meal and really lively but relaxed atmosphere. Quite hidden away but is definitely a 'must go to' place if you live in town. Had an overall satisfactory experience and will happily return!

So impressed with this place!! Hands down the best coffee I've had in Auckland, lovely service, and a great atmosphere! For sure one of Auckland's hidden gems - so glad I found it!! So many gluten free and vegan options. My omelette was delicious, will definitely be back here.

Couldn't decide where to have breakfast this morning and I remembered that I still haven't tried this place! It was hidden away by the coolest op shop in Auckland "tattys". I came in and it was busy, I sat outside in the courtyard areas which was super cute! The service was great and my food was amazing too! <br/>One thing - the toilet .. you just have to go there to understand the magic behind it. One door opens another door closes....

I love this cafe so much! It might be on the bit more pricy side but it is definitely worth it. The coffees are always fabulous and their baristas seem to know their stuff and always make them perfectly. The decor and atmosphere of the place is so comforting, they have sheepish skin type things in their seats which I think is very cute. There are nice paintings on the wall that make for a nice photo if you're into it. Most of the people there seem to be corporate, but the way the place is, being a student I don't feel out of place as I do with some other cafes. All the counter food looks amazing and decently priced for what you are getting. Friendly staff here too. I will always be coming back to this place, wether if it's just for a coffee to catch up with a friend or for a meal to fill my stomach (and heart). I hope this place never changes

Came here on a rainy Saturday morning a few weeks ago and boy was it busy! The cafe was packed and we had to wait a little bit to get a seat. They got a bit confused as to who to seat first and who to take orders from first due to the number of customers. I ordered an eggs bene with salmon and my partner ordered the chorizo omelette. It took so long for the food to come probably due to how busy they were. They also ran out of bagels so my eggs bene was on sourdough instead. I liked the ambience of the outdoor dining area, however it is so much nicer when quiet - like the last time we were there. In terms of the eggs bene, it was overpriced in my opinion. Without the salmon it costs $14, with salmon $21. I think it'll have to be one of the most expensive cafe eggs bene I've had, that didn't even come with spinach! I think the food was tasty but the price points were too high.
Sophie
Came here for coffee for a friends 21st and realised I'd been missing out on such a cool inner city spot. Coffee was amazing, and chilling in their "outdoor" area was a great way to pass a few hours, with the illustrations all over the walls being super sick. Apparently their going to start opening later which I'm super keen for!

Chuffed is a cafe for brunch & lunch. We ordered a cheese steak with beef, provolone, etc., & a mushroom roll. Coffees came quickly. While we were having coffees, we ordered a piece of walnut banana cake which came in about 5 minutes. Our food came long after we finished the cake (about 20 min).  My cheese steak came at last on a baguette. Taste-wise, good; beef, tough; way over-priced ($22 for a baguette without salal/chips in a cafe?). The mushroom roll was OK. (Food - 3.5/5; Service - 2/5; Ambience - 1.5/5)
AJ
Standard brunch food with beautiful presentation and good, reliable taste. I would say the salmon crumpets and eggs bene were good, but not outstanding. The bagel laced with a bit of bacon bits does make for a nice base though. Eggs done just right. The coffee is nothing special but latte art is always something to marvel at. Service is good, I guess I'm just thrown aback whenever sarcasm is used by a waiter. I give 4 stars because the atmosphere is lovely and a great place to chill, especially when they roll open the roof, it doesn't feel like being in the CBD anymore.
Charlie Lin
Congratulations on the renovation and re-opening. Chuffed remains my favourite CBD cafe and the space is more beautiful than ever. I've been coming for years and expect to keep doing so, given the impeccable service. Keep it up.

So tasty and such a nice atmosphere. One of my favorite places for a nice quiet lunch with friends as the service is always great and the food is even better.
Mani
Slow service. Had the eggs benedict. Bun was terrible. Found hair at the end. Nope! Won't be returning, I'm afraid! Partner had the cheese sandwich which wasn't even heated up. Why fill up a sandwich with cheese and not have it melted and gooey!? Pointless.
Liddy Jacobi
This place is terrible. They took 35 minutes to serve me a cheese toastie that was already made in the cabinet. It wasn't even nice. Will not be going back and do not recommend.
Ellynn
This place is mine and my friends go to cafe whenever we just want to hang out and catch up. I have tried their flat white, mocha and iced coffee and all three of them have been amazing. I recommend this place a lot to my other friends and so far no complaints yet.

Chuffed is a hidden gem in Auckland's CBD on High Street. They have a small courtyard out back, perfect for when you want a quiet moment to escape the city's hustle and bustle!<br/><br/>I came here with my extended family when they were visiting from New York. We were seated in the courtyard and snuggled up with blankets (yay for cafe's with blankets) under the heaters. We ordered a semolina porridge, the chicken salad, soup of the day, the cabinet white chocolate brownie and coffees. The porridge was AMAZING - it was super creamy and perfect in the winter cold. All the dishes were faultless but the highlight was definitely the porridge. I'd also highly recommend the white chocolate brownie in the cabinet. It is seriously good!!<br/><br/>The staff are awesome and attentive, the food is great and the setting/vibes of Chuffed are crisp and clean. Love!!

Their breakfast omelette is delicious. Well worth the try. The atmosphere is lovely as well with a quite outdoor courtyard in the middle of CBD. Beautifully presented food and lovely service too. <br/>A must try for brunch or an early breakfast.

Proving to be popular on Zomato, we had high expectations for Chuffed. Visiting on a rainy Sunday it was surprisingly full and there was a short wait for a table. With the majority of seating out on the deck you’ll be pleased to find the area is well heated and very homely. The wall art on the surrounding buildings adds character and colour to the white walled space and blends in nicely with their own painted wall feature. We had mixed thoughts on the service. We had three different people serve us during our visit. The first guy was friendly and accommodating but the other two were a quite flat.<br/><br/>Starting off with drinks we ordered a large flat white to share. The coffee was good but we were a little disappointed that the equal sachets arrived on the saucer and not already mixed in when making the coffee – not a major, it’s just our taste preference but we had specifically requested this with our waiter. For brunch we ordered the Mushroom medley with a poached egg and the Mushroom eggs bene with avocado. The mushroom medley looked good and were well-seasoned, there was a nice hint of chili which wasn’t too over powering. I would recommend getting the poached egg to add a bit more variety to the dish. The bene was served on a bagel, which was unexpected and not stated on the menu. We weren’t sure if we were sold on it but it was a good bagel - fresh and soft. The eggs were done just right. The hollandaise sauce needed a bit more taste and we both agreed the mushrooms would be a lot better if they had the same treatment as the Mushroom medley dish. <br/><br/>Their menu isn't long but if we were to visit again I'd definitely give their sweet crumpets a go :)

Definitely a hidden gem! Service was excellent. Coffee tastes awesome. Food very well presented and tasted amazing. Would recommend breakfast or brunch in city.

This place is what my sister would call "my type of place" and by that she means that they cater to all types of people with dietary requirements.<br/><br/>The ambience is inviting and makes a good brunch spot in the city. I ordered the Confit Mushroom. It was rich in flavour, with elements of freshness. My meal was delicious. But my friends felt that their meals were more social media worthy than worth it based on taste.<br/><br/>There's a good cafe pantry selection, drinks and fast service. I would recommend this place.<br/>

Lovely place for brunch :) cute decoration. The place is warm even at outdoor, they also will provide us the blankets if we need it.<br/>Good service as well.<br/><br/>We had:<br/>1. Confit mushroom with poached egg. It was so delicious, the portion wasn't too big but filling. Egg was perfect addition to this dish. Love it!<br/><br/>2. Crumpets (lime, gin & beetroot cured salmon, beetroot puree, avocado, lemon). So sophisticated dish but not my favorite.<br/><br/>3. Lemongrass & ginger tea.<br/><br/>4. Cup of coffee âŁïž<br/><br/>In overall, <br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Decoration/ambient: 5/5<br/>Service: 4.5/5<br/><br/>Thank to the friendly staff who was willing to help us in taking pictures âœŒđŸ»<br/><br/><br/>Xoxo

Very nice chic cafe with good atmosphere. Coffee is above average and food is delicious and well presented. For it's location and quality, you would be looking to spend upwards of $20. So in that sense, Chuff is relatively cheap. Recommend to anyone that is not in a hurry and would appreciate the effort of the chef putting the plate together
Molly Xie
The mushrooms is really good and they have various vegan options which is awesome. The environment isn't as good as it seemed to be on pictures and the outdoor area is quite small and narrow.

I come here to escape the city hustle for a mere moment with I know there will always be a reliably good cup of coffee (my coffee personas are filter first, followed by cappuccinos for those cold blustery Auckland days). <br/><br/>Highly recommend chuffed for a moment of respite, especially if you have the time to sit in and catch a breath on their covered balcony of cosiness out back.

Love this place, been coming here since it opened and the staff are always personable and friendly. Food is delicious, as is the coffee. I wish it took less coffees to fill up the coffee cards, and the food was a little cheaper! Milkshakes are great too. Atmosphere delightful.

We ordered Crumpets with Salmon, Smoked Pork Cheeks and Lamb Shoulder Rice. All 3 dishes were superb! Only fault is we wished there were more on the plate! <br/>Tip: The sides were all to be added to a dish, nothing like chips or sides to share for the table. Would be great to have accompaniments that go with the dishes!<br/>Awesome nonetheless, will be back. Thanks for the amazing food and good service.

Got to know about this hidden cafe from my friend. But it was so average to me. The service, the coffee and the food.. non of them were surprising.<br/><br/>Couldn't tell what pattern was on my flat white, the taste was just so so. And it was warm, not a hot one.<br/><br/>For the food, I ordered Lamb shoulder. But couldn't find the smoked garlic and mint jelly which were described on menu and supposed to on my plate.<br/><br/>Couldn't enjoy that much at this place.

Took my mum here for coffee, coffee was amazing. Some things let this awesome place down, me and my mum felt as if staff were pressuring us to order food when all we wanted was coffee and staff kept on hanging around us, not quite sure why, also found it weird that they wanted  us to pay afterwards and not before as 99% of cafes do this. But other than that, is a really cute cafe with a lovely outdoor area.

An exciting find tucked away in High Street,  the service was exemplary with the quality of the presentation and the food itself being reciprocated. Played some amazing music to boot.

Beautiful deco, good food good coffee! Had a massive pancake for breakfast and it was gorgeous. The eggs Benedict was delish. Definitely coming here again

Everything here is delicious and beautiful.<br/>Even the atmosphere is very nice and reading.<br/>Also staff are very nice.<br/>Lot of people in lunchtime and it's kinda always busy in this cafe which is nice.

Cute little hide away that's right in the heart of the busy city. This place is pretty in terms of decor and their food. The staff were all friendly, attentive and chill. I ordered an eggs bene - serving size was appropriate and everything was on point, except for the hollandaise sauce :(
Saskia Kiefte
Food: very nice cafe style food - eggs, avocado, etc. I had the pea & avo smash on sourdough, my sister had the eggs benedict, both of us were impressed with the flavour and presentation. <br/><br/>Service: good service, food came out in ample time, didn't feel like they rushed to clear away the dishes either which was nice. <br/><br/>Ambience: cutest little spot - the location and set up is its main feature. I loved sitting outside on the deck area with the sun shining it, it is an ideal spot for a cute lunch on a sunny day. I would go back to Chuffed over other cafes because of this.

With a whopping 4.5/5 on Zomato, I thought this would be the perfect place have a nice lunch date. The decor and presentation is very nice however I wish the food tasted as good as it looked. I ordered the beetroot cured smoked salmon and my friend ordered the pork cheeks. I couldn't taste even a hint of beetroot from the salmon and the most disappointing thing about the dish was the hollandaise sauce. I had to look back at the menu and check if there was toffee listed in the dish because the sauce just tasted like toffee. The flavours just did not sit right with me and the sauce was definitely the biggest let down. My friends pork cheek was okay, nothing special with the flavours and the bread around the edges was really hard it was inedible. <br/>Overall disappointing experience, maybe next time if we come back we will try other dishes.

Absolutely love this place for brunch/breakfast/coffee or anything really. The atmosphere is fantastic, the retractable roof really adds to the space and gives the indoor/outdoor feel, as well as letting heaps of light and warmth in. <br/><br/>The service is always friendly and really helpful, water is provided and orders taken efficiently. <br/><br/>I always get the poached chicken sandwich with a side of mushrooms and this has yet to disappoint, the sandwich is very filling and has great portions of chicken in comparison to some sandwiches you get at cafes from the cabinet. The mushrooms are always perfectly cooked and always presented beautifully. <br/><br/>They don't have flavour syrups for the coffee and you don't need them, as it is always brewed really well and the milk steamed perfectly. The smoothies are also really tasty, ratios are well thought out and flavours go really well together. <br/><br/>I love that they're also changing the menu from time to time so it's different (as long as they don't take the chicken sandwich off!), all in all this is my favourite place to chill, and for really great food at an awesome location. đŸ‘ŒđŸŒđŸ‘ŒđŸŒđŸ‘ŒđŸŒđŸ‘ŒđŸŒđŸ‘ŒđŸŒ

The service was excellent, actually a perfect example how it should be in every restaurant. The food, we had the mushrooms with burgul and the zucchini spaghetti, was definitely much better than we have had in most places in New Zealand. But we were mostly pleased by the fact their menu has a lot of choice between good, healthy dishes instead of fish&chips or burgers, what 90% of the restaurants serve, we don't believe burgers and F&C in NZ are that good. Definitely go to this place for a variation on the mainstream dishes of NZ. Also absolutely fantastic coffee, best one we had during 5 wks of traveling through both islands. Their hot chocolate is made from milk and cacao instead of the fake hot water stuff other places serve.

TL;DR: Definitely deserves its place near the top of the Zomato popularity list. Cafe priced seasonal food tastes delicious, and makes for good instagram photos. Recommended: Salmon crumpets<br/><br/>One of the top cafes in terms of popularity on Zomato, so I had to give it a shot. I came here a total of three times. Here's how it went:<br/><br/>-Food (Practicality vs presentation)<br/><br/>Beautiful presentation with vibrant colours which were very appealing to the eye. In terms of practicality, not the best.<br/><br/>Salmon crumpets: A beetroot "smear" means you pretty much couldn't wipe up the tail ends of the smear without scraping your cutlery across the plate. The overall dish was really good - the avocado, bits of the beetroot smear, and salmon all worked together very well. I highly recommend this dish for first timers :)<br/><br/>Eggs benedict: The eggs benedict had everything piled high onto one half of the bagel, meaning if you wanted to ensure you finished the dish in a balanced manner (i.e. not being left with a whole half of an empty bagel), you had to move everything from one side to the other. Taste wise, it's just the same as any other ordinary eggs benedict. I do recommend asking if you can make the bagel a poppy seed one as it makes everything so much better.<br/><br/>Iced coffee: Tastes pretty good. Smooth coffee topped off with ice cream. Perfect for a sunny day, or if you very unfortunately are seated at the "fire table".<br/><br/>-Prices:<br/><br/>The prices are acceptable, standard coffee prices given the popularity of the cafe. You're also paying for freshness (seasonal appropriate of ingredients). The servings of food look fairly small but it is enough to make you full.<br/><br/>-Consistency:<br/><br/>This is where I had the most issues with Chuffed. There seems to be a lack of consistency throughout a lot of elements, such as cups used for coffee, presentation, and even service. One iced coffee cup I had was standard (see picture with two glasses) while the other was almost impossible to pick up given the shape and condensation of the cup.<br/><br/>During my first visit, someone who didn't appear to be a waiter (the clothes he were wearing were extremely casual, almost like a customer) came to our table and took our cutlery without saying anything - we thought he was stealing it for a split second.<br/><br/>-Ambiance:<br/><br/>Sitting outside is wonderful, though not particularly so if you are unfortunately seated under the "fire table". Though, staff members are very willing to put down the shade if need be. The overall atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly.<br/><br/>03/07/17 Update:<br/>I will not be changing the score I had originally given Chuffed as I believe one bad experience should not diminish the previously positive ones. I would just like to express my disappointment in today's visit during lunch. While we were seated fairly efficiently, the service that followed thereafter was far less than satisfactory. My mother and I waited over 10 minutes to even be brought water and menus, during which tables seated after us were served almost as soon as they sat down. I had already ordered at the counter as the wait was becoming far longer than acceptable. We both had an appointment to attend to soon, but I'd like to believe I gave us ample time to enjoy brunch. While I would like to believe that this was a simple mistake or oversight by the service staff, it still doesn't sit well with me to have them look at me in the eye and yet not acknowledge our existence. I sincerely hope our next visit will be much more pleasant.

Really cute setting and lovely outdoor area that's covered but still gets sun. The best part of this place were the shakes! I had a Snickers shake and my partner had the Banana Salted Caramel one and they were both amazing and huge!! Really good value for money ($6) and we couldn't finish them. To eat I got the spring fruit which looked pretty and was nice but it was a small portion (lucky the shake filled me up!). My partner got the pork cheek with apple and fennel slaw. The pork was nice and tendor but the slaw lacked flavour. Food 3/5, drinks 4.5/5, service 4/5, atmosphere 4/5.

i've only ever ordered coffee from this place but let me tell you that it is liquid gold! in fact, this stuff (and all its rich caramel-y glory) is SO good that it's border line addictive! top 3 for sure

Amazing brunch. Coffee is of high quality good. The ambiance is straight out of Wellington.<br/><br/>Deducted -5 for not having WiFi in the house, otherwise keep up the amazing work :)

Where To Next Auckland
Chuffed is one of my favourite hidden spaces in the city! Perfect for those pre work caffeine pick me ups to start your day. Their pastries and cabinet food are amazing. But their breakfast menu is just delicious.. definitely try their crumpets! Yuuum! Always friendly service and a cosy and relaxing atmosphere.

The ambiance of this place is unreal! So cool! You are completely private from the busy road outside, surrounded by cool artistic graffiti. The staff are extremely friendly and chill, you get a cool cafe vibe from the moment of coming in with the barista humming and singing to himself. <br/>Loved the menu, it's adaptable to suit any diet with switching out to gluten free to vegetarian dishes easily. Very cheap to! Our food come out fast and was absolutely delicious, the one thing that I thought could change was for the dishes to be slightly bigger. I got the corgette noodles and was still kinda hungry afterwards. Although you did have the option to add chicken or something but obviously it costs more and i thought they should serve a slightly bigger plate of noodles anyway. Would definitely go out of my way to come back though, and check out there magic locking toilet. If you can work out how that works, please let me know!

We came across chuffed one drizzly morning seeking shelter and some breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised at the whole look of the place! The staff are friendly and the waitress was super good dealing with my nut allergies. I had the avocado and pea smash which was really yummy, a perfect amount of food on the plate when paired with a bounty shake! My partner had the eggs on toast and added bacon, which was probably the thickest, yummiest looking bacon I've seen in a long time. All in all we were really happy with our meals and service here, I just wished there were a few more options on the menu!

I have been wanting to try this place myself for awhile now after hearing so many great reviews about it.<br/><br/>Located on High Street, this place was not easy to spot unless you specifically know what you were looking for. Once you turn in the corner it has an attractive, artistic sign.<br/><br/>Besides the cosy indoor seating area, there is also a back courtyard which is like a secret garden in the middle of this busy city. Such a lovely spot to dine at. The menu is beautifully crafted, the selection is not extensive, but every single item on the menu sounds appetising that we had a difficult time deciding!<br/><br/>Service took awhile, but they were friendly. And when the food finally arrived, it was definitely worth the wait. I knew this place would be good, but what husband and I did not expect were the 5-star restaurant quality food we were served, from the immaculate presentation to the delicate flavours. We were impressed to discover that the crumpets were homemade, and the texture was just amazing, especially accompanied with the divine lemon orange cream. I thoroughly enjoyed my bircher muesli which had sourness from the rhubarbs, sweetness from the pears, and subtle flavours of vanilla and spices. The flavours just kept developing in your mouth. It was full of surprises yet incredibly well balanced. <br/><br/>We are delighted to have discovered this hidden gem, and could not wait to come back to try their lunch menu. To be able to stand out amongst so many great cafes on Lorne Street & High Street, this place should feel chuffed indeed!

Been here today (15% surcharge), friendly staffs, nice and cozy atmosphere. Not much selection of the foods than I expected. Foods are great quality with nice presentations. It was very healthy food but my friend and I needed extra taste/flavour. It was not our type of taste but would still recommend to people who likes healthy foods :)

Came in here with a friend on a late afternoon. Ordered a cappuccino and an iced latte. Iced latte tasted a bit watery, maybe it was because of the ice. The cappuccino was quite nice, wish it was more thick and creamy. Maybe a bit more cinnamon would have been even better. I'm willing to give this place another go.

Love the vibe outside with fireplace that you can snuggle and keep warm.<br/><br/>We ordered a flat white, good choice of Arabica coffee bean.<br/><br/>Breakfast is very creative, delicious. I would go back again for the confit mushroom roll. đŸ˜šđŸ‘ŒđŸ»

Lovely people working there, very professional and friendly for a cafe. Food was above average. Mushroom was great. Limited menu and weak coffee however...

Initially, we couldn't find this cafe as it's tucked inside. Find the chuffed cafe sign which is next to a sushi shop and walk right into the white space. Don't be deceived by the small seating area when you walk into the café as most tables are at the back.<br/><br/>Food here is healthy, tasty and insta-worthy. Both me and my friend's orders were yum! Coffee here is great and service is good. Tables are rather closely packed so you can hear what your neighbours are saying but I really wouldn't mind when the food and coffee's this good.

Cute place with outdoor seating.. <br/>friendly staff. <br/>The place did not have much of variety of food to choose.. <br/>We ordered zucchini pasta with chicken and mushroom buckwheat. <br/>Very healthy but not my taste. <br/>Did not enjoyed :(<br/>

Super cute place, it looked really small from the outside but there is actually this beautifully decorated outdoor area in the back. I loved the chill vintagey vibe it gave off. The coffee was very good and the servers were friendly. Great place to relax and chit chat.

Can't believe I haven't done a review for Chuffed yet! Been here so many times. Staff are always friendly and the seating area is great to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city! They've changed the menu slightly and I highly recommend the meatball sub (sorry can't remember the exact name) it's full of flavor and filling! 4.5/5 will definitely be back here again!
Daniel Kinnoch
Visited Chuffed for the first time. Buried away from the street, you almost wouldn't notice them if you were walking past quickly. First impressions when you walk in is that they're a small dimly lit indoor cafe, but then you realise that they have an awesome outdoor area that gets plenty of sunlight in between all the surrounding buildings.<br/>Service was excellent; mind you, when I ordered a Bacon and Egg Bap, I then quickly changed my mind and told the server that I'd prefer a Banh Mi instead. When the food came out, I got my Sammie instead! I felt really bad telling the server that this was wrong because I had originally said this - but she was more than happy to take back and replace which was really lovely. I was so worried she'd get in trouble but I'm sure one of the staff just ate the Sammie instead.<br/>The Banh Mi was delicious, especially considering it had no meat! Would have to be one of the best that I've had in Auckland.<br/>My partner got an eggs Benedict.<br/>We both tried their new shakes - great value, big cups that were seemingly bottomless. Had trouble finishing.<br/>They also made a bit too much of their batch brew for the day so let us try that too, for free.<br/>All up, great cafe, will definitely come back.
J
Loved it! Great coffee and the eggs benedict was so delicious. One of the best I've had in a while, that bagel is truly something. Their salmon is unique too, smoked with chai. The deco was so pretty, plenty of snaps taken. Hidden gem indeed! Happy to have been recommended to come here for breakfast. Would love to come back and try other dishes!
Isabel
Neat little hidden cafe off High Street. Ventured in for lunch. I had the portobello mushroom which was a bit oily on the side. My friend had the granola. Coffee was a bit weak but the juice is nice.

Great service, food was very delicious. I had the Eggs Benedict and wasn't short of high quality. Only negative was that it was a little cramped but overall nice cute cafe/restaurant.
Hannah
An all-round brilliant cafe. <br/>The coffee was the best I've had in a long time (and I drink a lot). For breakfast, I had scrambled eggs on 5-grain toast, with a side of herbed kale. First things first, that 'side' was so generous, I was stoked at the amount I was given for $3. Secondly, IT WAS DELICIOUS. I've never had kale like that before, but I seriously want to go back and have more. The eggs were also perfect, and by the time I had finished I was super satisfied. <br/>The service was also lovely, and the vibes out back are great!

I downloaded this app purely so I could express my love for this cafe. It is number one on my list of the best cafes in Auckland. Number 2 being Mary's and number 3 being Dear Jervois. <br/><br/>Why I love this cafe:<br/>1. Incredible food. I have had a range of their dishes including the Portobello mushrooms. I can't go past their eggs Benedict though it is spot on every time. <br/>2. PEANUT BUTTER AND CHOCOLATE COOKIE this food item deserves a point of its own because it is next level and no cookie will ever do now that I have tasted it. <br/>3. Every staff member is wonderful and it is evident that they love to work there. <br/>4. The best spiced chai in Auckland. <br/>5. The incredible atmosphere, from the front you don't see much but out back it is lovely and open with a beautiful mural and a fire place! Extra points for blankets in the winter. Cosying up by the fire place with good company and excellent food on a chilly winter morning is wonderful. <br/><br/>TLDR: This place is the best. Get the eggs bene, get the peanut butter cookie, get the chai.
Salim J
I would rate it over 4 maybe six months ago but now with the changes to the menu I can't convince myself to go back. Some options are too sour and some not filling for a satisfying brunch. Quality of food and presentation is great though.

Came in today and had to wait a bit but that was expected given the excellent reviews this place has. Excellent service and great food!! Definitely one of the best cafes in Auckland. Will be back soon! <br/><br/>Dan

Fantastic catch up venue within the CBD. Chuffed with their service: decent coffee and their team seem cheerful and enthusiastic (pun fully intended).<br/><br/>We came in on a busy Saturday afternoon and was not surprised to find that the place was packed, so we had to wait for a seat. Fortunately, it was a lucky day, because after about five minutes (which gave me plenty of time to look through their delicious cabinet offerings), a table was made available.<br/><br/>Our orders were taken, and our coffee and food came out in around 10 mins. Speedy service for a busy Saturday so points to them. I had their almond slice which was totally yummy while my friend ordered toast with jam and ..... well you can't really screw up toast and jam.<br/><br/>Showstopper: Fantastic catch up place with palatable coffee.<br/><br/>Overall Grade: B+, can't really give a higher grade as we haven't tried more of their food.

Had the recommended eggs benedict with Portobello mushrooms and it was definitely worth it! Have absolutely nothing to say about it. <br/><br/>To find Chuffed on Lorne street look for the 43 High Street sign and don't hesitate to walk inside. Nice atmosphere with heaters and wall paints and little visiting birds. Staff quite friendly but they can get quite busy. <br/><br/>Improvement could be a better drinks menu. Not much of a coffee or alcohol beverage person so I had the almond smoothie which was far too sweet for me. The other smoothie choice had kale hence I hesitate to try. <br/>If you are a coffee person then that shouldn't be an issue for you. <br/><br/>Price is decent too. Would come back for another treat.
Shirley Yu
Nice atmosphere and environment having lunch with friends. Nice coffee even though I do not drink coffee quite often, it's still good chance to have a try. <br/>I ordered the cauliflower salad and my friend ordered egg Benedict with mushrooms. Both of them are fine. But the peanut smoothies is too sweet for us. <br/>Pleasant try and will come for a second time.

I decided to visit this cafe for grabbing one cup of coffee after found their high rate at 4.6 on Zomato. But ... the photo just was the coffee what I grabbed there this afternoon. I do not think the milk foam of this flat white coffee is matched with their rate. And taste was too light, could not feel any mellow.
ShoRt
Cute cafe, tucked away through a random building. You are greeted by a cute mural when you find this gem of a cafe. What surprised me is that they have a nice covered courtyard to enjoy some sunlight. Great place to meet someone for a quick work lunch! <br/><br/>Good friendly service and of course, I like their coffee too! I had their cabinet sandwiches and was toasted, good fresh bread and was satisfied. If I worked in cbd, I could be a regular here :p

Had a lovely light breakfast and tea in this hidden gem. The staff were helpful, friendly and actually bothered to ask if It was too cold when they opened up the outside area, which is a first. <br/><br/>The food came out in good time and was really delicious. I had poached eggs on sourdough bread and was very happy. The atmosphere is very cosy and it has an artisanal feeling to it. The fireplace was going & it was perfect. <br/><br/>We were greeted when we entered, the staff asked how our food was and said goodbye when we left. Highly recommended & will be back again for sure.

I had the sweet porridge and the egg benedict. <br/><br/>I was impressed by the sweet porridge. It was VERY delicious. <br/><br/>Egg benedict was alright. <br/><br/>I'll definitely order the sweet porridge next time!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ticked ALL the boxes. Friendly staff and very helpful. Comfy and contemporary settings. Great coffee and of course great food! :) ordered their signature crumpet with chai smoked salmon with avo & salsa verde. Will be coming back for more.

I had a very enjoyable lunch break at Chuffed and loved everything, from the decor, the comfortable chairs, their food and of course their AMAZING coffee!
Eden Wood
I was sadly underwhelmed with Chuffed. The food was under-par. The poached pear which accompanied the crumpets was too hard, the bread which accompanied the omelette was toasted too much and was far too crispy and the flavours of both the omelette and the crumpets were good but not spectacular. The outdoor seating area is cute with the sheepskins covering the stools and the outdoor fire but it certainly did not live up to my expectations.
Denise
I had the portobello mushrooms with extra chorizo added on for breakfast and it was one of the nicest meals I've ever had. The meal was amazing by itself but with the chorizo as well it was just 👌 <br/>Staff were super friendly and the meals didn't take too long despite the place being really busy. <br/>We were seated out the back in a really cute courtyard area which added to the atmosphere but probably wouldn't recommend on a rainy day as the people sitting next to us were at the end of the sheltered area and getting a bit of an unwanted shower in addition to their meals and we were getting splashed too. <br/>Aside from the horrible Auckland weather on that day, the food was amazing and I would definitely go back.

Chuffed is a cafe quietly standing at the back of street. The entrance is on High street between the buildings. It is a nice place to have brunch but this cafe gets busy around 10-12.<br/><br/>They have great quality food, perfect formed coffee, homemade bakings.<br/>Some of their mains are quit light meals, so if you need any help with choosing your order ask the friendly waiter.😉<br/><br/><br/>More info:<br/>http://chuffedcoffee.com

I discovered this tucked-away little gem thanks to metro. And let me tell you... I'm pretty 'chuffed' with my experiences here so far. The staff there are very pleasant, the coffee is to die for, and the food is great (although, I've only had one meal there so far). I highly recommend this place.

I completely forgot this little place existed actually, looking for breakfast in the city last week I'm so happy I remembered it.<br/><br/>It's not common to have an off-street outdoor area to eat so that's a big bonus at chuffed. Lovely staff with a couple of little jokes on the way in made us feel very welcome. <br/><br/>We ordered two flat whites (which were sublime) as well as the chorizo omelette and the poached eggs and bacon, thick cut bacon for the win 😎 My omelette wasn't the most exciting omelette I've ever had, but technically it was cooked well.<br/><br/>Would definitely recommend for breakfast in the city!!!

Very hipster, cute spot in Auckland. Love the sheepskins on the chairs. Graffiti on the walls. Fantastic cafe food, especially for breakfast. Love it all!

Excellent classy cosy cafe in CBD. Everything I've tried is fresh, great quality and its an overall great experience. The cauliflower chicken salad is pretty much perfection and you can tell the owners are passionate about coffee as it is always spot on!

We always walk past Chuffed whenever we are in town. Their sign/painting was always so alluring and we finally stepped in after all this time.<br/><br/>The cafe is conveniently tucked inside of a building and any customers would have to walk past a hallway to reach it. It is such a funky, cosy little place with a fireplace and faux fur seat mats. I can definitely imagine myself visiting the place on a cold winter's day cozied to the fire with some warm coffee/tea and something yummy to eat. Everything looked clean, well polished and buzzing with people.<br/><br/>I ordered the Mushroom plate and my partner ordered a chicken sandwich. My mushroom was juicy and full of savoury goodness. It is paired really nicely with kale and yummy salsa verde, fault in it is there can be more sauce, it was very fragrant I couldn't get enough of it!<br/>My partner's chicken sammie looked delicious and came in a generous portion. I didn't get a bite but he said it was a bit dry.<br/><br/>The staff were very attentive and most of them were friendly; it wouldn't hurt for one of them to break a smile once in a while. <br/><br/>We would definitely come back next time, their sausage rolls and chocolate caramel slices looked very tempting, and I'm always down for sweets...
Kerryj
All I had was a latte with a piece of fudge which were both great. The highlight here has to be the staff, though busy, they are very friendly and made me feel welcome on my first visit. Will definitely be back.
Jessica Donovan
Nice courtyard out the back takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD. Don't go for your run of the mill offerings; choose something different. Like the omlettes.
Issie
Very relaxing atmosphere. Staff seem busy most times but none the less good service. Food is always really good. Eggs Benedict is my fav. Salads are very unique at chuffed you wont be disappointed. Sometimes I also order their juices, they are pretty good too. very nutritional dishes compared to other cafes

Great eggs bene here. Atmosphere is great, food is great, service was friendly and quick. Some things on menu were not available but still plenty to choose from.

Came here for brunch with a few friends. It was super busy and they didn't have a big table available but we were happy to just squish onto a small table. Luckily a table cleared up a few minutes after we sat down and the waiter moved us to that table. <br/><br/>The cafe has a nice atmosphere and is quite cozy and the staff are all very friendly. <br/><br/>Egg's Benedict is one of my favourite dishes to have when I come to a cafe and I must say, Chuffed did not disappoint. They used nice thick slices of bacon, not some cheap thin slices. The bagel was soft and fresh and easy to chew unlike some places I go to that have stale bread or bagels. The hollandaise sauce was perfect and didn't make me feel sick or anything which happens with some places.<br/><br/>Great food, great place and great service :) <br/>Definitely will come here again
Miss Kiki
We came here this past sunny Saturday lunch time. When you first enter the cafe seems small but at the back is a beautifully bright courtyard.<br/>We chose to have lunch here due to the very good reviews. I ordered the portabello mushrooms with a side of bacon. My dining companion ordered the burger. <br/>To be honest nothing was bad, but I think due to the excellent reviews our expectations were really high and we were disappointed.<br/>I was expecting to be wowed. I think the biggest disappointments were the fsct that they didn't have cold drip coffee and the fact that the burger came with kettle chips. The menu did state that the burger came with kettle chips but for some reason we all assumed it would be hand made. <br/>This spot is lovely for a coffee or a smoothie but I probably won't be back for food.

Oh yeah, the place is true to its name. I came here twice last week: once with burly hubby and the other with the girls. The place is busy with a lovely outdoor area. Not a kids place but great for brunch or lunch with reasonable prices and great portions. A couple of downsides: Coffee is so-so; sweet portions in the cabinet are tiny and expensive; and $7 for a small glass of juice is kinda kray. Other than that, I can't fault the food.
Rojas
The BEST eggs benedict I've ever had! Perfect eggs, ample servings of homemade hollandiase sauce than isnt too overpowering and matched well with ample servings of salmon. Soy lattes are great, not too bitter. The staff are fantastic and go out of their way to help. This is one of the best places for brunch in the cbd.
Whiskyncigars
Was a bit disappointed. Ordered an Angus burger with kettle chips. Now I thought the kettle chips was like a play on chips but it was literally kettle chips. The pattie was exceptional. Medium rare with great flavour and juicy but the rest of the burger was lacking flavour and the bun was an average bun. Tbh for 18 bux I expected a bigger burger with a better bun and not literally kettles chips.. But it did say kettles chips but I was still surprised that one would use packet chips for 18 bux. <br/>There wasn't any cold drip coffee when it was advertised on their blackboard as if it was the second coming, wife ordered mushrooms with bacon. Bacon was good.. Thick cut bacon and was tasty. Mushrooms though was average... Lacking seasoning and the bread was over toasted. <br/><br/>Overall I give a 3 star.<br/>Price was disappointing to what you got, I would rate that burger max 14 bux may even 12 like the place at Britomart, which I also thought was overrated. <br/>The fact that cold drip was not available and it seemed like it was a flagship product also disappointing. <br/>

Chuffed is an amazing cafe for a chilled out brunch or coffee. <br/><br/>The outdoor seating is like an escape from the busy CBD. I swear there's like a tree. <br/><br/>The classic veggie sandwich is packed full of fresh veggies and is quite filling. <br/><br/>The wagyu beef burger which is usually a dressed up burger dish was laid back and casual being served with potato chips which is nice.

Went to chuffed cafe today with 2 other friends. It was quite full when we arrived (around 1pm). The place itself is a very nicely secluded partially open area with just enough sunlight and creates a beautiful ambience on a nice sunny day. Interior design is awesome!<br/><br/>The staff were very very warm and polite, had great people skills that really made the experience much better.<br/><br/>I ordered the chorizo omelette, which was reallyyy good, very tasty and had an appetizing look. When eaten altogether it creates a burst of flavours in your mouth. The bread on the side was quite difficult to slice but was still good. My friend had salmon crumpets with avocado which she really liked. The other one had bacon eggs benedict, eggs were poached perfectly and the bacon was so thick (goood). Hollandaise was also light and creamy - very nice. All three meals had little touches of leaves and flowers which gave texture but also made everything look like art.<br/><br/>Definitely one of the best cafes in Auckland, quite hidden but it's worth the price and the wait. Will come back soon! 😊

What a beautiful wee place! Unfortunately tucked away so one might not find it if they weren't already looking for it.<br/><br/>Attentive staff and very good drinks. Their cheese toastie is probably the best I've ever had-- highly recommend it.

Chuffed is a hidden cafe on high street where makes the best coffee in town I can surely say. <br/><br/>I only drink black coffee. since it has been really hot this summer I only have tried their iced americano. Their coffee tastes so good. It has its unique fruity fragrant and my friends who drink white coffee told me that their white coffee also taste very good.<br/><br/>The best part of food here is the THICK bacon. The thickest bacon I have tried at restaurants and cafes in Auckland. To be honest, I cannot say their salmon is amazing but their bacon is truly a masterpiece. I always order poached eggs on 5 grains toast and add bacon or salmon for extra. Last time I visited there, I asked for some tomato relish too. "Poached eggs on 5 grains with bacon and extra tomato relish" here I am sharing my secret combination for breakfast or brunch which you will all love xx <br/><br/>Service is on point. Staff are energising, fast and prompt. It has a modern, nature loving interior of which I cannot help but taking so many photos. <br/><br/> <br/><br/>

Now this is an amazing little lunch spot. It's quite small, so it's hard to get into on busy days, but it's definitely worth it. Love the interior design and the food not only looks good, it also tastes GREAT. We got the Portobello mushrooms, Angus burger, chicken sandwich, lamb shoulders (this was amazing!!), cauliflower salad, and crumpets with salmon. Would definitely go again for a nice lunch date (probably too small to host larger gatherings).
Helena
I have tried to come here for quite a few time but it was always full. Today was no exception even though it was a weekday and during school time. The interior was designed to give off a calm and elegant feeling and the seats were very comfortable. There were six of us and we each ordered a different main. All of us have to agree that the lamb shoulder was the best. Definitely go if you have the patient to wait for a little while. <br/>P.s. the toilet's door is magical try it :)

You really got to look for this place (next to Sushipac) but it's really worth it. Food aesthetics is to be saluted and taste is siq brah. Ordered salmon avo crumpet and eggs on toast with bacon; both of which were very yum yum yum.
SS
Hidden gem this is! I absolutely love what they have done with the space
It’s stunning. Bright open space with plenty of seats outside.<br/><br/>Service was friendly from the get go - food was fresh and delicious. I had the open styled omelette w braised leek, toasted almond and guindillas peppers, legit the most delicious omelette I’ve ever had. My friend had the chuffed reuben and was satisfied w it :-) <br/><br/><br/>Definitely points for use of quality ingredients and presentation. Great cafe in a great location - we’ll definitely be back <br/><br/>

We went here on the weekend and I was so excited at first. It is inside a building and off the street, so a little hidden. It was fairly busy but we were shown to a table straight away. We were given menus, made our selection and then waited. After awhile my partner went to check if we ordered at the register or if was table service. We were told that it was table service so kept waiting but then noticed other diners who arrived after us had their orders taken before us. We finally caught the attention of a waitress and got our orders in. She was lovely but I think staff just didn't show any awareness on when people arrived and when people were ready to order. The coffee came out quickly but it was bitter and neither of us drank any further. Our meals came, without the side of avocado that we had ordered. The food was pretty good, I had the crumpets with ginger and my partner had the mushrooms and eggs on toast. The presentation of the food was great. Overall, I found it a little disappointing but others have had such great experiences there that I hope it was just a once off.
Claudia Serra
The outdoor area here is great - food and drinks delicious and the staff are always very welcoming! Came here in the winter once and was offered a blanket! What a lovely touch. The eggs benedict was 10/10 :D

I am throughly blown away đŸ™ŒđŸ»đŸ’š. I've always walked past this place and been curious as to why so many people were coming in and out of it. Hidden away in a nook of high street, is the best coffee out. They know how to nail hot and cold coffee! ☕. I would definitely recommend sitting down in the courtyard and having your drink ASWELL as a meal from the menu. There is a focus on 'health' foods in the menu but nothing which would scare the general public off. The quality of food is staggeringly high and the staff are almost like family upon greeting you. 10/10 would go again and again and again
Lovely Maralit
Omelette churizzo was very enjoyable and flavoursome. I love the deconstructed style it had. Bread was quite tough toasted a bit of oil or sauce on the side would've topped it off :) over all great experience, environment and friendly staff though

Great space, atmosphere is amazing, a little hidden gem. Great service, was made to feel at home as soon as we walked in. Brilliant menu selection, some new takes on old favourites; drink selection mouth watering.<br/>Will definitely be going back.

Down to earth and relaxed atmosphere; central city cafe that is very inviting.<br/><br/>Had the portobello with cow feta and sourdough toast; it was amazing and very flavourful. Making something quite simple so memorable is truly skills.<br/><br/>Priced accordingly at 18$.<br/><br/>4 Yums

Nice and healthy! A little bit hard to find but still found this cute cafe. The food took a little bit long to arrive.. Probs because it was pretty busy. Food taste nice but the serving size isn't a lot. The food was made to a high standard.

Awesome place! I so was not expecting the warm, funky cafe that was nestled away on a second floor of a building on High St. Love the places that surprise you.. In a good way. Chuffed is quite small inside, but the outside patio is so comfy and chic with sheepskin chairs and floral wall patterns. Staff are delightful and inviting, and there is usually a table straight away. <br/><br/>The menu has the main breakfast and lunch items- eggs, mushrooms, granola, burgers. But also has a couple of unique options, like the grilled asparagus and egg dish which I had today, and enjoyed immensely. Overall, the food menu is not that extensive, but the food they do have is delicious, good quality and fantastically presented. Their coffee is also very good! A few treats on offer in the cabinet too! <br/><br/>Overall, I would recommend trying out this cafe for a cool casual bite to eat. Good food and good vibes.

Chuffed is hidden away on high street and somewhere I always wanted to try! Headed over after summer school classes for a catchup. The coffees were delightful even though my friends one didn't turn out looking so nice haha probably because she asked for no foam but tastes good none the less. We ordered the cauliflower salad and portobello mushroom. Very nicely presented and great service too!

This place is very hidden !<br/>Have to walk into a mini walkway to enter the cafe<br/>Love their urban and modern atmosphere<br/>Their soup was yum and their toasted sandwiches are hearty and delicious <br/>Prices are reasonable too and their staff were very welcoming <br/>But not too many seats so may be hard to find a spot during peak times!
Travels4Food
Nice tucked away cafe in town. The Reuben sandwich is very good. Saukraut and Reuben beef is not too overpowering and very well balanced on toasted bread. The salmon on home made crumpet is nice with classic flavour but does need a bit of salt to give it a bit more taste. The cold pressed juice is a refreshing way to get your greens in you.

I went to Chuffed for a brunch today. and I must say its quite good. ..really a little surprise in the CBD.,although its bit confused about the location. anyway. the staffs are nice..and the coffee are great. I ordered one egg bene, and like the others review :you can tell the material is quite fresh. the atmosphere is cozy as well. .Oh, what a pity I forgot to take the pictures. .but its worth going. .
Naomi
It was pretty busy around lunch time then only could get a seat at the counter. <br/>I've waited for a while for getting another seat but unfortunately too busy to happen it.<br/>But I felt how it's popular and had nice flat white.

Enjoyed a lovely brunch here today. Tucked away in High Street, this little cafe can be easily missed but is worth seeking it out.<br/><br/>They were pretty busy when we arrived, but we were seated with water and a menu each while we waited for an outdoor seat at the back. Just after placing our order, we were moved out back. Loved the design and the small touches here and there that made the experience special. <br/><br/>My salmon and avocardo crumpet was delicious! It felt super healthy and was light but filling. The cucumber, kale, pear and granny smith apple cold pressed juice was surprisingly good too.<br/><br/>My friend had the open omelette which he loved too. <br/><br/>Overall, a great little cafe and would definitely recommend!
Judy Chhy
Atmosphere was really nice here + interior decor. The waitress who served us was super nice, when we asked her what she would recommend for a gluten free option she offered us what she think we would get our money's worth. Me and my parter both order eggs Benedict, my one is the one with the bagel and I got mushroom with it. My partner got it gluten free with bacon - he said this was the best eggs Benedict he has tried because unlike most places the bacon is shown no love and he liked how they cooked it. We also order a hot chocolate and a camerallo shake which was super nice too!

Have been to Chuffed 5 times now. Everytime the food, the coffee, the staff and atmosphere are just suberb. Will continue to keep going here.

This is a fabulous little hidden gem! It's not directly on High St, it's down a small arcade. Excellent coffee, made with real care; simple, well prepared food; great service; and an awesome indoor/outdoor space! It was a great find!
Shavnil Ram
Been here couple of times really enjoyed it. Good food, clear concise menu. The coffee is amazing.. Have to say one of the best coffees in town. Service is good very friendly staff. Great ambient place, the outside patio is the best place to sit and relax with friends. Would make it a regular coffee place!
Stella Lin
First the service attitude is quite good. For today's lunch my friend and I went to The Chuffed. All the crews were busy during that time. But we didn't wait for too long(5minutes)and we got seats. Apart from that we also were cared so much. The crew came to ask us how's everything going for few times. <br/>The atmosphere and environment were so awesome. You can see that directly from images uploaded by other customers. <br/>As for the food. I must say it is also yum, tasty. You can see cooks focus on details such as decorations in every dish, which I consider as the beauty of the food. We didn't wait for too long time. <br/>I highly recommend this café. It's worth going. The only drawback is it doesn't include large area. Cuz this is a café,it has its delicacy.
Ridad
Lovely atmosphere. Went here with a friend for lunch and loved the outdoor courtyard. It feels like an escape in the middle of the city. Food was good even though the menu was very limited.
Avi
Great brunch. Cool vibe. Coffee and smoothies were amazing. Omelette was one of the most interesting combination of ingredients and tasted great. Other dishes we had were also great. Service was top notch. Now my favourite cafe in town. Recommended

What a beautiful place! Love the outdoor seating area; I am a big fan of eggs Benedict, the one I had here - will be added to my top3 lists!
Alex Neilson
Really nice atmosphere! Loved the decor so much in this little hidden away gem. Can only comment on the coffee which was really good! Smooth and were happy to oblige sugar mixed into the shot (so much better) saw some really good juices on neighboring tables as well so would love to try these out and the food. Will return!

The coffee was outstanding - I find that although Auckand has some great cafes, good coffee can be harder to find, especially when you compare with Wellington or Melbourne. <br/><br/>Flat white was smooth, strong, not a trace of burnt - just perfect.  Food looked great as well, will be back for breakfast!

Who would expect to find a secret garden in the heart of Auckland CBD. Great coffee, yummy food, the perfect place to rest and chill in the CBD.

Chuffed is a hidden gem, located at the end of a little corridor off High Street. The little outside dining area is so cute! There are chairs with fluffy throws on them and when the cover on the ceiling is back, the natural lighting is perfect for photos! <br/><br/>I have been here twice now and loved both experiences. The first time I ordered the berry compote, ricotta house made crumpets. They were presented beautifully, but I personally didn't like the texture of the ricotta. It was strange. Apart from that, it wasn't bad! My iced mocha was so good though and it came with a scoop of icecream. Though when I ordered this the second time I came, it didn't have icecream anymore haha :( <br/><br/>The second time I ordered the salmon eggs benedict! Served on a bagel, it was delicious. Eggs were poached well and the bagel was perfectly toasted. <br/><br/>My friends got the poached pear granola and the porridge. Again, presentation was impeccable. They were also happy with their meals, though next time they would choose to order bigger and more filling meals. <br/><br/>The service here is so friendly as well! The wait staff are so polite and food comes out relatively quickly. Definitely a place to go when I'm craving a good meal and a good coffee on the side.
Max Clark
Quite a limited menu. <br/>Food was fine <br/>Service was friendly enough <br/>Very reasonable prices though. It was really refreshing to see. <br/><br/>The seating was in a sort of sheltered courtyard.. It was nice to be away from the bustle of the CBD. <br/><br/>Would go back but in no rush.
Dish4Nish
Great place for a late breakfast. A good mix of regular favourites combined with some creative newbies means there's something for almost everyone. I would have liked to have tried a few of the toasted sandwich options but alas will leave it for another time. A pleasant outdoor setting creates a relaxed atmosphere, but you may have to wait for a table.
Kate Hill
Chuffed is a hidden treasure on high st! It has an epic menu that will quench you thirst and satisfy your tummy! I would definitely recommend the poached chicken Sammy, that is also toasted with delicious bread! Another great steal is their freshly baked banana bread! Which can be served toasted! They have amazing coffee and the service is quick and efficient! The artsy deco is trendy and you don't even feel like you are tucked away in the big city! Also check out their bathrooms ... The doors are magic!

Lovely cafe perfect for lunch breaks and coffee dates. Had the strawberry and kiwi fruit smoothie with a pair of Amazeballs. Super tasty and healthy too!
Melissa May Tauch
What a stunner! One of the best cafes I've been to for a while. The outside area is beautiful, it creates a relaxing and trendy vibe, perfect for a date, catch up and even lunch meetings. I had the salmon eggs Benedict which I enjoyed very much! It came with bagels, which I absolutely loved. Bagels made the eggs Benedict 100x more delicious, and the salmon was seasoned with chai which was unique but very nice. My friend had the salad with chicken and it was really good! I'm not big on salads, but this definitely looked like a salad I would have. Coffee was good, I had the ice coffee, and at first it looked a little small but it was just the cup and turned out to be decent sized. Service was really lovely, the girl serving us was kind and took care of us really well. Overall a beautiful place to eat and have coffee, would highly recommend!!

Delicious meal at Chuffed today! Such good vibes and such a great cafe to help you escape the big city feels! Unfortunately no vegan options so I had to alter a meal to suit me, my friend had the salmon and avo crumpets, super cool because they cure their own salmon and make their own crumpets etc. I had the Brussel Sprouts dish with added mushroom and avo and obviously excluding the non vegan items :) was very yum and flavoursome with a balsamic reduction! Beautiful presentation of the food and helpful staff, can't wait to go back soon and try the new menu
Sean
Cool coffee/breakfast place on the High Street. Lovely outside area that was almost as warm as inside on a early October midday. <br/>Had bacon on the side, never seen bacon slides so thick but it wasn't as tasty as I imagined. In fact most bacon hasn't been very good in NZ through my travels. But did enjoy the cheese toasty very much with a cold brew coffee. Well priced and great staff means it's definitely one I'd love to come back to.

This place is quite the diamond in the rough with it's stunning outdoor area, great service and unique menu, all the while being tucked away in the heart of High St. <br/><br/>I really enjoyed my first visit here, the sun was shining (a little bit too bright so we ended up moving) and the service was very good.<br/><br/>I got the homemade crumpets with salmon and avo cause I'm 'cutting' ha. and my friend, Cindy got the Wagyu<br/> burger. I am a fan of crumpets so decided to try it and have to say it was good, not necessarily amazing but it was good. For $16 however, being the young adult that I am, I was hoping for more. The wagyu burger was good from what I heard from Cindy but the chips.. we weren't sure if they were made there or store bought. <br/><br/>With such, the service was great and the waitress even cracked a joke about whether we were taking selfies or taking pictures of the amazing artwork that their cafe looks out to. There's even a palm tree which adds some extra umph to the place. Certain seats even had little fur rugs on them which I thought was oh so chic and instagram worthy! It's therefore definitely a great place to relax/study, boost your mood, go on a first date even (eggs bene is normally a safe call/healthy options are also there/coffee available) and to just be by yourself and take in that sun or not - there's places to sit inside. <br/><br/>I would like to try out more food but what's stopping me from giving it that 5/5 is the food expectation that I have right now. Nonetheless the cafe culture in Auckland is stepping up and I'm certainly loving it.<br/><br/> P.S. as you enter there's a giant mirror with neutral tones on the wall/floor etc so it's a great spot to take a casual #ootd :P<br/><br/>Came back and had the poached pear. It was a little sweet but still good and the presentation was beautiful ! <br/>I also got a soy cappuccino which was very good. I hoped to get a better presentation of the coffee but I'll be back to try that out 😊
Razelle Icaro
I went to this cafe for brunch to try it out. I ordered the eggs bene with bacon while my friend ordered the Lamb Shank. I thought the eggs bene was really nicely made. We were talking about how the key to a great eggs bene is fresh ingredients, and good hollandaise sauce. I reckon both criteria have been met. The bagels and bacon used were fresh and at a really good quality. The bacon wasn't oily either. The hollandaise sauce was perfect. It didn't taste too creamy or too salty. Definitely a good brunch place and would love to go back to try out their coffee!
Pamela Chia
Fantastic place strategically tucked away from the hustle and bustle, free from noise pollution which makes it the perfect getaway. Decor is a mixture of exotic, cosy but chic giving it the feel of somewhere warm and oversees especially with the ceiling that acts as a sunroof to let in the sun and keep out the rain. Coffee is smooth, rich and beautifully presented same goes for the meals. Not very many options on the menu but all are done to perfection! Wonderful portion sizes and both the flavours and textures of the meals are beautifully combined. Prices are fair and overall a really fantastic atmosphere. Definitely recommend đŸ‘đŸŒ
Rachel
Love love love. Best thing that's happened to High Street; neatly tucked away. A little confused with the butter knife decor in the middle of the plate. Only complaint would be for the cafe to be open for longer!
Randi Martin
Chuffed = my no. 1 cafĂ© in Auckland as it ticks all boxes in terms of excellent coffee, outstanding food and second to none service. It was love at first coffee and now my regular haunt on weekends and weekdays... Not sure if I should be proud, or ashamed to say that I am addicted to the eggs benedict. The cafĂ© itself is vibrant, lively and artistic, and the staff are always welcoming/in general an awesome bunch of people. Special mention to the 2IC – you are the host with the most and just as nice to look at as the surrounding art-work. Being a Melbournite, my good coffee/good food expectations are high, but Chuffed you have impressed me! Can you please relocate to Melbourne with me at the end of the year?!
Jessie Tan
Chuffed as one of the hidden gem cafe in cbd area with its quality service and good environment. Great to chill with some mates after uni or drop in for brunch! <br/>Coffee 3.5/5<br/>Environment 4.5/5<br/>Food 3/5<br/>Had the bagel bene but the bagel was too hard to even cut with given knife other than that is average.
Annie Bananie
Apparently their coffee is amazeballs but I didn't get to try it. Loved the environment at the back, my mushrooms and toast was pretty normal but surprisingly filling (generous mushroom portions). The juice was refreshing and the pistaccio loaf was SO GOOD.
Helena Chen
This cafe is such a great escape from the bustling streets of Auckland City, tucked away quietly on High St with a perfect outdoor patio area that's t is gorgeous during summer (and super cozy during winter too, with plenty of heaters to keep you warm). I’ve been here a few times now, the most recent visit being on a weekday afternoon for a coffee catch up with a friend. <br/><br/>We sat outside and the waitress gave us menus, but unfortunately told us a short while after that the kitchen closed at 3pm (it was just after at this point). Luckily, there were still some cabinet food items available, so we both ordered the pistachio lemon loaf, and a cold drip coffee for me while my friend went with a classic flat white. I didn’t realise the coffee didn’t come with any milk, but was surprised to find that I actually really liked it black; cold brew coffee is definitely a favourite of mine and this one was great! The loafs were also exception, with strong lemon & pistachio flavours and the right amount of sweetness that was cut nicely with the yoghurt they served alongside it.<br/><br/>This place will always be a favourite of mine in the city. My other recommendations include their pear, banana and cinnamon smoothie, as well as their crumpets which are seriously amazing!
Xorazel
something really cozy and welcoming. a nice place in the city. caramello shakes are the best! would love to try their drip coffee. will be back soon😊

Food: very good <br/>Presentation: good <br/>Coffee: great <br/>Service: good<br/>Ambiance: great (on a warm day)<br/>Value for money: good<br/>Verdict: Chuffed with this joint!
Cassandra
Great service, I had the vanilla bean porridge and it was really nice with really good coffee. My boyfriend had the burger he enjoyed it although I thought it was a bit weird that it came with packet chips. Needs more smoothie variety. Overall was nice and would come back again.

I turned 18 on Monday and I went out for a coffee with my bestie for a little while. Chuffed is such an amazing cafe, the ambiance is just what I pictured a perfect cafe would be. On my birthday, I was given two free chocolate fudge- which was super cool! All staff members there were friendly and welcoming :3 Their coffee is perfect, I usually get a moccachino and it's always perfectly done!

Feeling pretty chuffed at chuffed :) Had a nice brunch here with some friends and I loved this place! I like the vibe, the outer covered area, the benches and the cute pot plants om the table. Along with its lovely staff, Chuffed sends a very cool and relaxed vibe and it's a great place to eat, chat and spend your whole afternoon away sipping their coffee or tea.<br/><br/>I had the reuben sandwich which was really good for its price as the portions were huge. The bread was toasted to a lively brown colour and was very crispy, a downside would be that I found it slightly dry with not enough sauce. I also had their stay snug tea. It had a very strong ginger aroma but the taste was more citrusy and lemony. I also tried my friend's shake (caramello for today's flavour). It wasn't too sweet and was really smooth.<br/><br/>The presentation of the food were nice, simple and really appealing to me.<br/><br/>Chuffed is definitely placed on the high range as you need to pay extra even for adding bacon to your eggs benedict! But overall I would visit Chuffed again! Great date spot too ;)
Melissa
This cafe was cozy and cute! Hidden in a little area on High Street, this cafe was a great place to catch up with friends :3 <br/><br/>We ordered the poached pear dish, eggs benedict, duck leg, and fresh juice. I enjoyed the pear dish the most, same as my friends. However, I would say it's not very filling for lunch as a meal on its own. The fresh juice was yummy, as most fresh juices are xD <br/><br/>Im not a fan of eggs benedict so that dish wasnt on my hit list. However, my friends seemed to enjoy it. <br/><br/>The staff are very friendly but beware because the cafe is really small and from what I remember, there are no more than 15 tables.<br/><br/>If you want a light and simple meal, I'd recommend you go try Chuffed
Elle
My favourite place to grab a healthy meal in town. Coffees are always hot and well made. Service is friendly. The set up of the venue makes you feel like you're not in town! The menu is delicious! Top quality ingredients! The slices are delicious. The caramello milkshake is a must!
William Kim
Chuffed was extremely cute and cosy. My girlfriend and I sat next to the fireplace and enjoyed an eggs Benedict with bacon and a eggs Benedict with salmon. Both tasted extremely good although the bagels were a bit tough to cut through. There was a slight mix up in the drinks order but Callum (our waiter) was extremely friendly and handled the situation very well. All in all it was a great place for a weekend brunch.
Katherine Feng
Such a cute little place, nice coffee. Food there is brilliant! Nice stuff! Always polite and helpful. Also the little courtyard at the back is very cute place. Sitting there I feel like getting away from the CBD.
Cararmel Queen
Very cute outdoor/undercover seating area. Went on a very cold, rainy day but felt very nice and cosy being there. They have a big fire place and some outdoor heaters. Service was good. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my partner got a caramello smoothie along with a meat toastie. The smoothie was great! I had a bite of the toasted sandwich, was yum but needed something, more salt maybe? The eggs Benedict was yum but I was a bit put off by the very fatty, thick bacon. The bagel was also extremely hard to cut through with a butter knife. I asked for a steak knife but they said they had none and that it was on their list of things to get. I ended up getting too frustrated with trying to cut it that I gave up. I love an eggs benne when it comes with a bagel so that was a plus but if you're going to order that then prepare yourself for some sore fingers/hands after!
Shelly
I dont think there is much so say about this little hidden gem other than this place has AMAZING COFFEE and AMAZING STAFF. Haven't tried their menu yet but i'll be back!!

I went to Chuffed last week for a birthday brunch, and loved it! I had the mushroom on toast, which is a delicious option if you don't eat meat. It was a good portion size and deliciously garlicy. <br/>Stepping into Cuffed feels like I'm stepping out of the city and into the countryside somewhere - there's no traffic noise, and the outdoor area is surrounded by beautiful greenery. Highly recommended as a central city dining spot!
Biohazard
One of the best in the CBD, tucked away from the city chaos, with a relaxed garden-feel dining area. Consistently top notch coffees. Not a great deal of food selection, but done soo well. The grilled sandwiches are amazing! The best service every time also..
Eva Zhu
Chuffed most definitely lives up to its rating! Despite being tucked away, this delicate little cafe has a chill and natural atmosphere, we were served by two people, our waitress was polite while our waiter was funny, witty and an absolute delight! <br/><br/>I myself had the wagyu burger which was a thick juicy beef patty, with lettuce, slightly pickled cucumber, tomatoes, onions, cheese between a toasted bun topped off with a cute little gherkin. Delicious! Was the perfect burger and although I didn't understand the kettle chips initially, it adds a bit more finesse than fries, as well as one simply couldn't finish fries and a burger that fulfilling!<br/>One friend ordered the cardamom poached pear granola and she thoroughly enjoyed it, especially smothering it in syrup, the other ordered the portobello mushrooms with creamy goats cheese, it was good but nothing special about it.<br/>Our waiter and waitress were attentive and our overall experience was simply divine. <br/>Will definitely be coming back! <br/>
Natalie Janet
Love the location and the staff are super nice but there was a luck of gluten free lunch options as the sandwiches are all made in advance. Still had a good time and is a nice place to hang out in the sun.
Lara Custance
Great city spot for excellent coffee and darn good food. <br/><br/>A well crafted menu that is guaranteed to hit the spot. Wonderful fit out lets you escape the hustle and bustle of the city, to a calm yet lively area. Big fan.
Huli
Delicious, well presented food. Love this place to bits. The atmosphere (especially during cold winter days) just adds to the dining experience. Wait staff are always friendly and the service is usually swift - although it tends to get really busy during lunch hours (I'd recommend getting there before the lunch time rush because they do tend to run out of some ingredients and certain meals can't be made). A must visit!
Peter Clews
Great service thanks and I love the outside area with the fireplace and heaters - warmth and fresh air in the city is genius!<br/>Been here twice this week and will return.

Always a good vibe at this 'hidden gem' and that really is a good way to describe it. Nondescript from the outside but warm and inviting once you enter. Friendly staff, quick service, quality fare. Some of the best coffee in the CBD and great food too. I particularly like the eggs Bene because the bacon is soo good! It's thick cut deliciousness combined with eggs to perfection... Boom! Get in my belly. Well worth a visit if you've not been here.

Love this cute little place, it doesn't even feel like you're still in the city when you go back into the outdoorsy area to eat. They had very friendly and efficient staff, as I was waiting for a friend to join me which they were patient about. Was offered water and given menus as soon as I was seated. I had the Eggs Benedict with portebello mushrooms and a soy chai latte. They made their own house chai latte and it was super good, although it could have been a bit more spicy. The breakfast was so delicious, just the right amount of everything - flavourwise. Overall a great experience, I will definitely be coming back!

LOVE this place! Great vibe and food to match. The strawberry shortcake milkshake is the showstopper here. I exercised some self control and made myself share it with a friend. It's a decent serving so it was a win win situation. Fresh food and a great place in the CBD to catch up with a friend from uni or work.

One of the hidden gems in Auckland.<br/>Highlight: Great Coffee and beautiful court yard.<br/>Great for : Lunch with colleagues, dates, partner or Friends.<br/>Service: informal and friendly<br/>Vibes : Quite a Hipster feeling<br/>Decoration is beautiful and simple.<br/>Love : coffee and the mural in the wall.<br/>Mum friendly :? Not space for trolley, better if you just pop in for a coffee or go at quiet time around 2pm or before lunch ( more space )<br/>■ Delicius Meals and fresh Juices ■<br/>☆No changing room available for babies<br/>

Yummy eggs benny and delicious house made crumpets. Plus great coffee. And when the drizzle stopped and the roof retracted to let some sunshine in brekky just got even better!
JS
Nice atmosphere. Interesting adventurous food ideas that generally work. Great coffee. A bit hidden away in the lobby of the building. Worthy of a visit, especially for the coffee.

Super hard to find, but worth the effort, you will be chuffed you did :-) Calling all fellow unqualified diners to check out the latest funky hipster hangout on High St! Seemingly tucked down the end of an elevator well, there is a small kitchen and serving area with seats out the back on some kind of internal courtyard. Service extremely efficient and friendly with a salivating range of dishes on the menu make this a come back type of place. I had homemade crumpets with salmon and avo - tres delish. I am also glad to see their slices are quality and not quantity and I could finally order a ginger crunch slice that wasn't the size of a small brick, and with amazing flavour.

Came here for a quick lunch with Samuel Parrott. Everything on the menu was quite different to the usual which was nice, but a bit pricey for me. I went for the classic eggs benedict with bacon and it was delicious. Not sure if I like how they only have one type of smoothie and milkshake though. Overall was good! And had a good feel to it.
Ryan
Nice coffee and beautiful atmosphere. You don't expect there to be so much room out the back, but there's a decent amount of seating in the seemingly small cafe. Service was prompt, but it's the atmosphere that will keep me coming back. Very intimate but still bustling with other diners.

Wandering down High Street you could easily miss a cafe to be chuffed about. Did that work? Not really. <br/><br/>Taking you from the cities street side to a relaxed outdoor veranda Chuffed offers you the perfect afternoon relaxation spot. A with a retractable roof to keep you covered from the rain or to let in the sun pour in, you can enjoy the cafe's outdoor area in all kinds of weather.<br/><br/>Lightly coloured walls keep this inner city space looking clean and spacious. The outdoor veranda area, is made relaxing with a cushioned booth running along one wall and an open fire to keep you toasty in the morning.<br/><br/>Food and coffee impresses also. I have only had the eggs benedict so far off the menu and I'm keen to try a couple more items. <br/><br/>With friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere, you can't do much better than spending a bit of your day in Chuffed. <br/><br/>Sarah Reynolds  #challenge

Sooooo good! Just the second time I have been here but I will be back many more! Today I had the Reuben sandwich and it was delicious, loved the sauerkraut and pickles and mustard! Last time I was here I had the wagyu burger and it was very good. Great little spot hidden away with a lovely courtyard and great atmosphere. (Not sure why the pics are so zoomed in?)

Simple but stylish cafe popular among young people. Coffee was good plus service was unbelievably fast and friendly. This is a good spot in CBD where you can escape from the noise streets.

This is a gem of a place! Tucked away on High St, never heard of it but now I'm a big fan!<br/><br/>Great portions, I got the omelette with a side of bacon - The bacon is man bacon actual ham steaks sheeeeeet yeah boy MAN FOOD! And the girl for her birthday got the Gronola, she said it's the best in town!<br/><br/>Really heathy, really tasty, really good value for money!

A truly suburbia cafe feel within Auckland's big little city!! Me and razelle had an amazing time giggling away and loving the food out here. Razelle got the eggs benny and I got the lamb shank. <br/><br/>Needless to say, the lamb shank is amazing 😍😍😍 it's so smooth and nicely done with a mix flavour of tomatoes and herbs! Had a little bite at razelle's eggs benny and found that the hollandaise sauce and bagel is amazing!!! My belief on a nice eggs benny is to have use fresh ingredients and nice seasoning. Which chuffed is on spot for that respect. <br/><br/>Perhaps the only reason why I'm giving a half mark away is from 5 is because I think there's not enough staff to accommodate the customers at times? Especially peak hours for brunch? They have good service but sometimes having only a few waiters around is not that helpful at a busy environment<br/><br/>With<br/><br/> Razelle Icaro

Great atmosphere, very cosy with the fire going and blankets available to use if you're feeling a bit chilly. I came here today to get a bit of study in and to get brunch. I got attended to right away despite the cafe being very busy and service was great! Didn't wait too long for my food and was always checked up on in a non-intruding way. I had the charred Brussels sprouts and green tea as well. I loved how the dish looked and it tasted just as good. The balsamic reduction, along with a pinch of salt and pepper on top, made the Brussels sprouts taste good enough to eat by itself, its subtle bitterness being balanced by the vinegar and the salt. I love anything with anchovies so I really enjoyed this dish!

Amazing. Incredible. There aren't enough words to describe how chuffed I was with Chuffed. <br/><br/>Best bacon in Auckland, best coffee in Auckland. I was blown away by the service, and it's quickly become my regular coffee joint. There's also a very attractive chef who works there which made my latte extra frothy.
Victoria
Great coffee, cosy atmosphere, friendly service. They have a quaint courtyard area out the back with lots of seating. Perfect for feeling like you're somewhere in the suburbs despite being in the cbd! <br/><br/>Will be back.

Came here for lunch with a friend and I'm glad she managed to get us a table! By the time I arrived both the indoor and outdoor seating were taken. Lovely setting outside and nice decor. <br/><br/>I have heard great things about their cold drip so it was definitely the first thing I wanted to order! I was lucky enough that there was enough left as the waiter told me they were just about to brew another batch - good timing for me! It was divine. I haven't had coffee in a while and it was exactly what I needed. The brew was great. I'm not usually a person that drinks coffee without sugar or milk but this has opened my eyes and I'll definitely be considering this more - if only all coffees were like this!!<br/><br/>I ordered the cheese toastie to accompany lunch w/ provolone and gruyere, gherkin, chives and branston pickle. It was the perfect mix of sour/tang from the gherkin and pickle and cheesy goodness. The portion was also big! I only just managed to finish the whole thing. <br/><br/>My friend ordered the portobello mushroom dish w/ sauce verge, smoked cows feta, sourdough. She said I was one it the best mushroom dishes she's had and she was also surprised with the portion size- much bigger than she thought! <br/><br/>Overall Chuffed is a great place and I'm looking forward to coming back here and trying something new!!

Lovely place to have an good relax and enjoy the brunch here😃my friend and I love the meal, only except we didn't know there are onions in the omelet...
D
Came in for a breakfast to start my work day. It was a little hard to find, with the entrance sequestered away within a building. Once I found it and got inside, the decor has a lovely homely feel with a fireplace, with excellent service who was happy to make a recommendation and took interest in having a chat with an overseas visitor<br/><br/>Happy to recommend, will most definitely be coming back again next time for the lunch menu

This place is very busy even if its hidden (not on the main street) <br/>Great ambience and vibe<br/>Food is mediocre (I had high expectations from the reviews I have read but sadly they didn't deliver)<br/>I ordered chai latte and wagyu beef burger<br/>(house blend chai was so bland for my liking, burger was okay but i was disappointed that they served it with kettle chips) <br/>Price point is average (from $12-$25 a meal)<br/><br/><br/><br/>
Sungsam7
Oh the coffee...primo, twice. Thank you Mr Barista 😊 <br/>Eggs bene with bacon. Soft poached and perfectly cooked; crispy thick toasted wholegrain toast; thick sliced cured bacon - the best I've actually sampled!! Service friendly and prompt. <br/>Decor. Light, warm, cosy and clean and I loved the wall mural that fits all seasons. <br/>
Catherine Chen
Had a super delicious cauliflower salad with chai cured salmon. Got to plan an essay in the serene environment as well. Absolutely in love with its setting. The food is extremely tasty and very reasonably priced.

There's so much hype around chuffed on instagram and I find it to be one of those places that genuinely deserves the hype. <br/><br/>Cutting to the chase, my friend and I were promptly served and greeted as we entered the corridor to chuffed. Chuffed is tucked away in an odd location, but maximises the light and has a fresh, open and relaxing vibe. The decor is beautiful and would drive any instagrammer wild haha. <br/><br/>Onto the food, I ordered the balsamic mushrooms on toast with a poached egg on the side. This was the most delicious and simple meal, executed perfectly. Everything about the meal was delicious and made me realise why I love mushrooms so much, good filling portion sizes and presented beautifully as expected. My friend tried ordering their famous crumpets but was disappointed when the vege toppings were run out, the staff dealt with this very well and offered her many different alternate options, but she chose to have a plain eggs bene which she found to be well done (nothing special as she only got the egg on an english muffin).<br/><br/>We also both ordered drinks. I got some fresh juice, which was extremely refreshing, good for breakfast and she ordered one of their kale smoothies which was good but not particularly suiting our tastes, it is though apparently quite popular. <br/><br/>Overall, very very good service, delicious, well presented food. A must try.
Ceciline Thai
Really cute atmosphere and seating area. Food was pretty good but my friend and didn't think it was worth what was paid. I got the Eggs Benedict which was nice, however the bread was overly toasted so was a little difficult to cut through using the knife. My friend thought that they would actually provide their own 'kettle chips' however she sadly received the ones you can buy from the supermarket. Great service though :)
Lucy
Really cool little place! Went there for lunch today - I ordered the charred brussel sprouts which came with toast, 2 fried eggs, anchovies and toasted almond slivers. It was bloody delicious. At $16 I feel like it was a good price for a 'trendy' (cringey word) cafe. Flat white was perfect, hot and strong. 2 of my friends got the caramello milkshake or something similar, I tasted it and wished I hadn't because it gave me drink envy. Other points - LOVE that they were playing Phaeleh, beautiful chill sounds. Hopefully next time they'll have space outside because I've heard it's pretty lovely out there. I also really liked the relaxed and conversational service. Chuffed bro!!
Cherries_inthesnow
One of my favourite places to get coffee. Now the service tends to be abit slow at times and the working hours can be improved upon, but the food and the coffee definitely make up for it; it's easily one of the best cafes in town. And I've tried an exhaustive number to say the least. Cafes around the CBD are popping up so rapidly, but quality unfortunately, is something that isn't present in most.<br/><br/>Chuffed is different in the sense that the cabinet food is just as good as the coffee. You can tell they take things more seriously here; the food's definitely at another level in comparison to the other highly popular cafe that's located almost directly opposite. <br/><br/>If you're looking to get a muffin or cheese scone, try theirs once and you'll never look at another cafe muffin the same way again. <br/><br/>Also have had a few things from the menu and really found the flavours of the dishes to be well balanced. Can't wait to try a few more things from there in the upcoming weeks!<br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>

Came in for coffee a few weeks back, some of the best coffee I've had!! Staff really efficient and friendly! love how it's hidden in the middle of the city!
Joanne Chiang
Came here for a late lunch on a Saturday. The service was awesome and the food was so good. The best part was the bacon, was expecting it to be very salty but it was just right!

Everyone keeps saying this place is a hidden gem, and it totally is. I was a little worried I wouldn't find it because one of the reviewers below said it took them 20 minutes into find the place. I was worried I would have the same fate. Thank god we saw the sign and found the place relatively quickly. The seating area in the back is amazing. There's a fire place and heaters to keep you warm in the cold weather. <br/>I ordered the lamb shank and it would cook perfect, just falling off the bone. It came with couscous, feta cream, and a capsicum tomato puree. I hate the taste of capsicums but was pleasantly surprised that the puree has been made in a way where none of the capsicum taste came thru. My friends had a wagyu burger which we all found the meat to be a little bit gamey. We were a little surprised when the menu said it would be served with kettle chips, we were expecting shoe string fries with the kettle flavouring. We were surprised to receive actual kettle chips from a packet on the plate. Not complaining, just found it peculiar. My other friend got the poached chicken sandwich and he had no complaints. <br/><br/>Overall the food is pretty on point here. Prices are not rediculous. However, we did find our waitress quite rude. She didn't seemed to want to serve us and found is annoying (?) She served all other tables with a smile except for us. We hadn't asked for any special treatment apart from an extra chair for another guest. Full marks if service was better. She seemed to be the hostess of the place? <br/><br/>Food 5/5<br/>Drinks 4.8/5 <br/>Atmosphere 5/5<br/>Service 3/5<br/>Value for money 4.8/5 <br/><br/>

By chance I seen her in the lobby of the Ritz<br/>With her man, the one that swings a hockey stick<br/>I was wearing all white, and my hair was looking precious<br/>Shit, I might cop a chest and a dresser<br/>A little machine to make espresso<br/>I heard your girl still wears Ecko

The cafe was very busy when I visited on one weekday. Get there earlier to avoid lunch hour crowd. My friend and I tried their chicken leg and pull pork sandwich. The chicken leg is something not to miss although its look is not tempting but it definitely taste yummy!

Heard about this place through Metro. Also heard it was a hidden gem.. couldn't be more true as it took me a good 20 minutes to find this place! So glad I did in the end. I've been twice now in two weeks. First time I got the Eggs Bene and man, you can always tell the difference between a good eggs bene and a standard one. It was delicious, fresh, and came served on a bagel! The second time I got a Reuben Sandwich which looks small, but is incredibly filling and delicious if you like sauerkraut! Coffee has been perfect both times and the space is awesome. Love how they can adjust the roof for the weather. I'll be back in no time

Great food, coffee and service. Recommend this as a breakfast or lunch spot in the CBD. A+++

Delicious breakfast, lovely friendly staff!! Found Chuffed through Zomato and very glad we came, eggs benny with breakfast was the best I've had in a long time - amazing thick cut bacon. Will definitely be back!!

Whether it's for a hot chocolate to-go or a chai latte on the patio in the back, Chuffed has always been the place of choice. This little café's blend of coffee beans really hits the spot, be it a cold drip or a flat white. The service there is equally fantastic. If a great cuppa and a cosy atmosphere is what you require, pick Chuffed.
Matt Miller
Definitely lives up to its rating. Awesome menu, service, coffee and food. Had the salmon and goats curd on crumpets which was pretty good but was a tiny bit plain, everything else made up for that though. Also recommend getting the gingerbread shake

This cafe is a little taste of K Rd/ Ponsonby on High St. I have been here probably about 10 times and have never been disappointed. Really delicious sandwiches, eggs bene and eggs + salmon. Everything else on the menu sounds great and I often have a bit of food envy eyeing up what other customers have ordered. Nice coffee, smoothies and juices too! I feel as though I go here a little often but I can't help myself :)
Miah Dixon
Chuffed is my regular coffee haunt and not just because of proximity to work! Staff are always friendly and happy to have a chat, and there is always something delectable on offer. <br/><br/>The outdoor area is a great place for relaxed weekend breakfast, or bringing clients for a casual meeting. I love the quirky artwork across the walls and relaxed outdoor decor. <br/>It's the little details that make the biggest difference - perfectly toasted breads with their eggs, and the best savoury muffin and scone combos that you wish you'd thought of yourself!<br/>Huge thumbs up to the Chuffed team!
Ryan Lal
I've been here twice now and I have to say this is probably the best coffee I have ever had. I know that's a big statement to make but you have to experience it to know what I mean.<br/><br/>Once you get into Chuffed, you'll wonder where this place has been all this time! Located in the hustle and bustle of High Street, inside however its a very nice escape. The decor is amazing and is truly one of the hidden gems in Auckland.<br/><br/>I ordered the Eggs Benedict and it looked great presentation wise. Eggs came out perfectly and the portion size was good too. Service was very quick and staff were very friendly. If you're looking for a new café to check out in Auckland that is a little bit different, I would highly recommend this place.
Jean Lee
As it is one of the Metro top 50 best cafes in Auckland - the title was self explanatory for both the service and coffee here. Had a soy mocha and a long black - both were superb. Soy usually has a bitter aftertaste when it's oversteamed however the coffee was creamy with just the right amount of foam and temperature was on point. Highly recommed Chuffed coffee! The prices of the coffee were cheaper than chain stores but the quality doesn't reflect this.

I was here for a function and the team served up a lovely spread, buffet style. I'm not one for medium rare lamb, but I threw caution to the wind and tried it with the accompanying gravy and mint sherbet...yup I meant sherbet, 'twas the bomb dot com ? <br/>The green beans with hazelnuts were like having Nutella with beans and it works! Ham, roasted potatoes, salmon etc etc, just tasty tasty tasty. <br/>Wrapped it all up with a yummy mousse birthday cake, although I think that was brought in. The espresso I ordered did the job of 'diluting' the sweetness and had the goodness and richness of coffee beans. <br/>Oh and their ginger ale makes my top 5 of ginger ales. <br/>I definitely need to make a visit on a 'standard' day and see how this place fairs. But if my friends who had their function here frequent the place every Saturday morning then maybe that's a "Just Juice" sign...<br/>"It's got to be good for you"
Rachel
Great place to eat at! I recommend this cafe for anyone that likes eating out. It can cater for special occasions too. I had a great time here with a friend. Once you find the place you are struck with the sight of a colourful and artisitic sign welcoming customers in. Inside the place's design is very unique and modern with art displayed. The cafe had a professional/casual atmosphere. The waitress was polite in letting us know the dishes that they were unfortunately sold out of. She also was happy to explain what the ingredients were for an item my friend and I queried about on the menu. Great customer service overall.<br/><br/>This place can get quite busy that some of the options run out quick! I ordered a hot chocolate and a chuffed style cheese toastie sandwich. Both were well-presented. My hot chocolate arrived first. The taste was very good with a nice concentration of chocolate. It felt like 15 minutes past before the sandwiches came. The cafe was busy at the time we visited so the wait was understandable. The sandwich was very interesting, it tasted like no other sandwich I've eaten before. Clearly thought was put into the mixure of ingredients. The flavours of each mixed together when I tried it and combined, they worked well. To conclude I enjoyed both the drink and sandwich and they exceeded my expectations of what they would taste like.<br/><br/>

I can only vividly remember the exact details because me and my friend went here the yesterday around 2pm. We went in not knowing what to expect because it was our first time visiting this cafe with like a 4.9 review so I really had some high expectations. At first I thought there'd be more seats indoors and less outside but what we saw was the opposite. There were some lovely seating outside with pillowy chairs and really comfy looking sofas attached to the wall of the cafe. I really liked sitting outdoors because the lighting was also good hehe. I had no idea how to order and when we first came in the lady from the cash register asked if we were going there for lunch and she told us politely to sit outside. Service is obviously 5/5. This also shows when the waitress came to get our order, she was so nice and friendly. She told us that like majority of the (cheap) options on the menu was already sold out so I was only left with two (cheap-ish) options. Either the chuffed reuben sandwich or the cheese toastie. I didn't know what the first option was so well and she explained that the cheese toastie apparently was her favourite so I chose that too, so did my friend. She mentioned every time I asked her bout an ingredient from the toastie she'd say it was just cheese but in fancy terms lol. For $12 at a high rated cafe in Auckland CBD I guess it was priced ok although (I'd still recommend they lower it to $9 and something cents at least. The scenery was pretty amazing too with some really cool trees and the view when you look up looks surreal. The wall art was also really artistic. The simple and nicely designed decor matched the whole look of the cafe. It came about 10-15 minutes later I think which I thought was a tad bit too long. The presentation wasn't bad but not the best either but still appealing. When I first took a bite it tasted weird and eccentric (oddly unique) taste. I guess cause I haven't really tasted "branston pickle" before it was new for me. I kinda began to like it as I was eating it but I feel like the branston pickle stood out the best as my first time trying it out. The cheese didn't have too much flavour but I reckon the chives and shallots were pretty good with the cheese. I didn't taste too much aoli cause I mainly only tasted the sweetness of the branston pickle and the gruyere and smoked provolone cheeses. Some really exotic flavours going on and I'll defo wana come back to try out their other dishes that aren't sold out. I was originally keen on getting the salmon baguette which sold out and also the homemade buffalo mozarella so I'll just try them next time. I recommend that they should have more variety and have more stock of ingredients for their most popular dishes so that they don't sell out all the good stuff.

I was told by about 3 different people that I needed to try this cafe as it was amazing and I definitely wasn't let down. The cafe itself is so quaint and inviting. <br/>I had the eggs benny with bacon and a gingerbread shake and they were both amazing! The bacon on the eggs benny had to be the best bacon I've ever had! So delicious. The eggs on my meal were cooked perfectly, however on my friends meal one of her boiled eggs was over cooked which was slightly disappointing. <br/>If you are looking for an experience I'd definitely recommend this hidden away gem.

So this place is voted one of the best 50 cafés in Auckland, great reason to try it out. Plus web page says bottomless American style coffee for $3, what more can you ask for?<br/><br/>Well we could ask for accurate information on the web page; coffee is $4 and is not bottomless. lol<br/><br/>Chees toasty didn't have enough topping and sourdough on mushrooms was way too soggy.<br/><br/>Staff was extremely nice and also didn't charge us for the coffee due to the complaint; hence 3 stars and not 2,5.<br/><br/>Will not be rushing back
Carlos
It's all in the name literally! <br/>I was when I stumbled across them, I was when I was greeted as a long time friend (although it was my first time there) & I was after receiving my perfect long maccihato. <br/>My only regret is not having time to sample the mouth watering menu. <br/>The amazing smells of fresh baking & breakfast treaties was nearly enough to make me want to forget work and lounge in the magic outdoor seating area.... You'll forget you're in the middle of High Street.... Be careful ?<br/>

Never knew this place existed as it is hidden but completely loved it! The staff were friendly and there were a variety of customers from business men having a meeting to university students studying to friends who just wanted to catch up. Cool place to grab a bite or to just grab a drink and relax away from city life.<br/><br/>The toilet and it's 'magic door' was also unique and a cute touch. Definitely recommend coming here to chill.

The coffee is amazing. Simply amazing. If you like your coffee and you like yourself a nice terrace, come to this place. Staff is super friendly, barista is very knowledgeable. Trust his recommendations.
Ulrich Frerk
Well been told by many people about this place. Walking in with our little boy with massive expectations for coffee and food, and wow surpassed all of them. Coffee amazing. Food amazing. Outstanding service. Outstanding venue. A must to visit.

This cafe is tucked right at the back of a commercial building on High Street. It's hard to believe there's a quirky hidden corner perfect for work lunch break.<br/><br/>Their balcony is the most popular sitting area away from the busy traffic noise pollution. You can enjoy a variety of their gourmet sandwiches or even just coffee and sweet treats.<br/><br/>I've ordered their Chuff Reuben sandwich and fizz to cool down after a busy work morning. If you enjoy pickles and a lot of vinegar flavors, this will absolute meet your satisfaction.<br/><br/>I would definitely return to try their sweet items, breakfast menu and their coffee!<br/><br/>

Chuffed is a true hidden gem with great coffee, great staff and a truly great location. <br/><br/>We held our Christmas event here and I was super impressed, now I can't wait to head back to try out the breakfast menu! <br/><br/>The best bit? The courtyard. With kick ass art and trees, you wouldn't even know that you were in the heart of the city.
Myfoxycorner
We had a private Christmas event here and loved the peaceful, secluded location, right in the centre of the city. The food was delicious and the coffee strong, just how I like it. Beautiful spot to unwind with friendly staff.
BMG
This place is adorable. Not only did I get congratulated for my selection of magazine from their (rather indie leaning) spread, but was served a fantastic coffee in a cute cup to boot. The staff didn't bash an eye lid when my partner and I wanted to share a sandwich and even cut it up for us. It was deliciously pulled pork.<br/><br/>This place is a perfect mid-town caffeinated hideaway.
Andrew Smith
Very good, if you can get a table. Would benefit from being a bit more organised, food and coffee was excellent. The beet root smoked salmon in the eggs bene was superb.
Marjolein Drenth
Chuffed is hidden away on High Street. It is a nice little café with friendly staff and a good menu. You don't have to wait too long before you get served with a smile. The coffee is good and I could definetly recommend this little spot!
Jenny Cao
Definitely one of the best hidden cafes in the CBD. Staff was super friendly, quirky decor, fast service and food to die for. Highly recommend the poached pear!
Nazah Ali
Ahhhh! Chuffed was the best cafe ever such friendly and speedy service and such a comfortable and inviting area enjoyed this cafe so much the food, service and atmosphere was all great.
Rebecca MacDonald
I had been hearing good things about this cute new place on High St so the next time I was arranging a weekday lunch date this was at the top of the list. There are not that many cafe options mid town so this is an awesome find! It is tucked away from the hustle and bustle on High St and has an amazing courtyard. We had the toasted cheese sandwich (aged Gruyere, and pickels) and the pulled pork sandwich. Both were very tasty! They also had homemade crumpets with a variety of toppings on them which looked interesting, I would be keen to try them next time.
Alex
This is my new fav spot,a hidden gem on high st. We had a nice weekend brunch in their courtyard. Everything there is just so cute and sassy.<br/><br/>We shared our eggs benedict with bacon, It was divine. I also ordered their strawberry and basil fizz, it tastes really strawberrish, a bit sour, but not too sweet,refreshing.<br/><br/>The staff there are super friendly and chatty.<br/><br/>I will definetly go back to Chuffed, really love their little courtyard.
Discerning Diner
Plus points: nice courtyard, good decor, friendly staff. Food is good. Downside: had to wait about 20 min for a burger and crumpets, which may be ok for dinner but over a weekday lunchtime, it would be appreciated having notice of that so we could have ordered something that would arrive quicker. Crumpet with poached egg and smoked fish was good, though crumpet not as soft as I had expected. Egg was poached to perfection however. Looked like it had some nice sweetie treaties in the cabinet though I abstained this time.

Stunning food, am I really not in Paris?! <br/><br/>Delicious subtle flavours in marvellously complimentary combinations, in huge warm outdoor galley, with imaginative drinks and great coffee.<br/><br/>It is a treat to visit Chuffed! Actually several treats per visit! <br/><br/>Best place to meet for business coffee/snack/lunch in CBD. Your guests will be amazed and grateful to you for this discovery :)

Chuffed is a cute little cafe at the end of a corridor off High Street. Make sure you look out for the sign, otherwise you will miss it! I had only heard about Chuffed by readings reviews about it in magazines and on websites, and could not believe it when I found out that it is just up the road from my work! I have to thank Yatchi for taking me to this place, otherwise I would have never found out how great it is!<br/><br/>Upon entering, the bright mural on the wall amazed me - it is stunning. I was also very surprised by the courtyard out the back. It is sort of like a hidden paradise away from the hustle and bustle of High Street. There is an open fireplace, cushion seating and decorative hanging plants.<br/><br/>From the menu, we tried the Pulled Pork Sandwich ($10) with ciabatta, house made BBQ sauce, apple, cress and pear celeriac remoulade and the Roasted Wild Mushroom Sub (also $10) with pear and Whitestone Windsor blue. Both were delicious, but the Pulled Pork Sandwich was definitely the stand out of the two.<br/><br/>I will go back to Chuffed, because I enjoyed the vibe of the place and sitting out in the warm courtyard. I would also love to come back to try one of their hot chocolates topped with homemade marshmallows. Delicious!

Tried this place with voucher. It's a nice place with good deco. Might be a bit hard to find if you dont know where it is. The customer service was good so is their coffee.<br/><br/>Would surely recommed this place to others.

Met here for a hot chocolate and fell just a little bit in love with the place. It was quite late in the afternoon, so we didn't have time to order any food - but after taking a good look at their menu, we definitely want to go back for a bite. <br/><br/>The hot chocolates we had were absolutely amazing, and came with homemade marshmallows - so impressed. My sister and I were thrilled with this, and they were far superior to regular marshmallows.<br/><br/>The thing that really got me was the beautiful murals throughout the place, they made the whole place feel a bit quirky and different, which I love. And their "outdoor-ish" dining area was gorgeous, complete with blankets and a gas fireplace to keep you warm. It was so lovely! <br/><br/>Definitely a great place for a meeting, and have to say I'm looking forward to going back for brunch one day soon.

Looking for a lunch place during the week?<br/>Drop in to Chuffed on High street, hidden down a hallway that looks like office lifts<br/><br/>Smart casual eating spot, good stop for a quick work lunch<br/>Staff is friendly and food in the cabinet was tasty<br/>The menu looked like your standard breakfast menu so I opted for the Ciabatta with pulled pork, apple, pear and celeriac roumalade and homemade bbq sauce.<br/>Nice quick lunch<br/>Would go back to try something off the menu next time<br/><br/>So I've been back and is now my go-to for a good lunch, the main meals and sandwiches are delish. I always opt for a smoothie too. <br/>The main I really enjoyed was the fish - see pic <br/>

I swear this is Auckland Central's hidden gem. I only recently discovered this place, all thanks to Yatchi. Oh how have I missed such a gorgeous place when it is so close to my work. The interior is so simple and cute, with an awesome mural in the front and a cozy court yard in the back equipped with fireplace, perfect for warming up over a cuppa in the colder season. <br/><br/>Will have to edit this review again, once I go there for lunch after exams, but the first time definitely was not a disappointment. Like the name, I was absolutely, well, Chuffed :)

Chuffed is one of my favourite places for breakfast or lunch in the city. I love that they care about their produce being as free range, organic and high quality as possible, and it all tastes amazing too!

You will be hard pressed to find a cafe this good in town! The crew at Chuffed know coffee, they know food and they know the vibe. Do yourself a favour and check it out, you will be well chuffed!
