A must try for anyone who love Italian food, as vegetarians we were stoked to have a plethora of options. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was composed perfectly with balanced flavours and textures that complemented each other. Sincerely one of the best meals of my life thank you guys.

Amazing little restaurant with homemade pasta and delicious sauces for around $30 mains. Prosecco is around $15 per glass. Very cute ambience, perfect service. I was having a bad day, and my mood is much better now :) A good meal is truly irreplaceable.

I and my husband went to a dinner at cute little Italian restaurant and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we entered, it was clear that we we're in for a treat. We started with the bruschetta and the Chianti’s acidity complemented the ripe tomatoes and basil perfectly. It was a true masterpiece. For our mains, we decided to savor two different tortellini, burro e Pomodoro and burro e salvia. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the balance of flavor was impeccable. The service was outstanding with the staff being friendly and attentive. The restaurant’s ambiance with its charming Italian decor and soft lighting made our dining experience even more enjoyable.

Amazing taste of Italian handmade food: pasta and sauce!!.. I would like to get more and more actually. Very good moment with a French speaker waitress. We travelled to Italia during the diner 😊

Came here a few nights ago, just thought we should have something out of ordinary, searched on Google and found this place, parking by the roadside. Didn't have a booking and the place seemed packed, sat next to their kitchen area in the front part of the shop. Staffs are very friendly and kind, even though the accent is a bit heavy to understand but it's cute. Ordered spaghetti and taste nice, a little bit salty but acceptable. The menu is like reading a child's storybook, which is funny. 🤣 Tiramisu dessert is awesome!! Good place for having your meals and highly recommended 😀👍👍

Hands down one of the best meals we’ve had in New Zealand. Nonna Teresa diligently & lovingly makes the Pasta with her hands. We ordered the Bruschetta, Tortelloni, Caponata and Nonna Elsa’s Tiramisu. Top class 👌🏽

First time visiting the restaurant and we were not disappointed. The pasta was super fresh and pretty much melts in your mouth. The chef’s special Spinach Tortelloni was amazing!

Lovely atmosphere. Pasta was delicious. Friendly staff and accommodated us when we booked for the wrong day and turned up today 🙃

Yesterday evening we went to Pasta & Cuore and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish along with a great ambiance. The staff were wonderful, they were attentive, friendly, happy, smiling, and polite. The food matched the staff; outstanding. We will definitely go again.

I don’t normally bother to post reviews for either good or bad experiences. I’m making an exception because after I just had takeaway DIY (as in: cook-at-home) pasta from Pasta & Cuore, I felt compelled to call them and compliment them on the amazing dish I just had the pleasure to enjoy. The cheese pasta sauce alone is a treat. Combined with the prosciutto pasta it couldn’t get any better. Is it cheap to get pasta from there? - No. Is it worth every dollar and great value for money? - Absolutely!

I visited this place with my partner. As this visit was just after I had a quick meal with my friend, we shared a plate of pasta, breads, wine, and some desserts. Front staff were so lovely, friendly and very kind with beautiful smile:) We were super satisfied with all of their recommendations, cream cheese pasta, red wine, tiramisu and tart. We will definitely come back very soon again, and recommend this beautiful place to our friends!

It is a busy place with outdoor (at the back) and upstairs seating with good customer service. We ordered bruschetta and beetroot carpaccio with couple of Morettis to begin with. The bruschetta was delicious but a little cheese would have made it even better. The beetroot carpaccio with Gorgonzola and pistachio was heavenly. For our main course, we ordered tortelloni stuffed with ricotta in pomodoro sauce and gnocchi with chicken ragu. I wish there were more chicken options in the menu. We finished with a beautiful tiramisu.

Perfect authentic italian food, excellent wine list, attentive staff. I had an excellent lunch.Highly recommend this place.

Loved our experience. Authentic Italian cuisine. Friendly Italian staff kept us and our baby entertained and the food was excellent. Handmade pasta, made right in front you. I had a pork sausage tagliatelle that was a special of the day. Outstanding. They’ve also got a really cute rustic courtyard that would be perfect for larger groups. We were just out for a casual meal and loved it. Want to come back and try more!

Dined in once and decided to do take out every time after. The seating is cramped but the pasta is extremely good, take home does not really affect quality much so would recommend.

Service = 4/5; Taste = 5/5; Value for money = 3/5; Menu options = 4/5; Vibe = 3/5; Hubby rating = 4/5; Pasta & Cuore is a traditional Italian restaurant in the heart of Mt Eden that specialises in handmade pasta. If you’re looking for a romantic carb filled date night, this is the place for you. After reading reviews of portion sizes, we surprised that the portions were not as small as everyone said. It’s actually perfect. The two of us had 2 x pappardelle with lamb ragout and shared Brussels sprouts and sour dough. We were both full and very satisfied. The average price for pasta was $30 but it was well worth it because the food was so fresh and delicious. I will definitely be coming back!

Probably one of the best pasta I’ve tasted in New Zealand. We got the butter and sage tortelloni, prosciutto, lemon zest tagliatelle, and the lamb ragu pappardelle and also some tigelle bread. Everything was perfect, the flavours were on spot on, not too heavy considering that amount of pasta! nothing to fault. The table setting was super cute with some Italian literature and the menus were individually hand crafted too! Would definitely come back to try the other dishes.

Authentic pasta. Simple but well executed dishes with good ingredients.

If you enjoy fresh handmade pasta, I highly recommend Pasta and Cuore. However, due to the labour involved, this meant the pasta was a bit on the steep end (around high 20s for a bowl). I got the tagliatelle al ragu ($28), mum got the gnocchi con ragu di pollo ($27.50) and my brother got the spaghetti all’amatricana ($28).

My pasta was really fresh tasting but not as al denté as Amano. The flavours were great and definitely a classic to order. In terms of portion, it left me satisfied. I tried a bit of my mum’s gnocchi and we all agreed that her dish was the best. My brother tends to eat a lot so he wasn’t full after his pasta, he could stomach another packet of St Pierres sushi. Service was average.

I do recommend giving Pasta and Cuore a try if you’re in the area.

Perfect, fresh pasta and all handmade. Service fast and friendly. Super authentic and popular little place

Went here yesterday with my partner for lunch break, this place is amazing, love the friendly staffs and the food is amazing. Order Tortellini con Panna e Parmigiano Reggiano & Gnocchi alla Romana! Portion is humble, enough to satisfy our belly... taste so Italian authentic, would definitely back again 💕
Zainab
Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the service and the food over all. It was a very long wait for starters and then mains. The food lacked depth of flavour and we felt it was generally overpriced and underwhelming.
Food2belly
We came here as a big group to try their 2 course ($56 = main + dessert) dinner meal. When we booked, we were advice that we can't do pre-order and had to order in store. It took 50mins for our main to come out which is a long time especially when some of us were hangry. The pastas (Tortellini & Gnocchi) had great presentation and tasted pretty good but the portion was quite small for the price that we paid. The Tiramisu was very delicious whereas the Chocolate Pudding had an interesting taste because of the Amaretto liqueur but most of us that tried it did not like the taste.
Overall, it was a nice dining restaurant with great service from their friendly staff but we were disappointed with the portion size and the waiting time for our food.
Belle Rain
The price is not cheap, but the size of food is so tiny, I ordered a meatball dish with only 4 small meatballs and 2 pieces of bread, and my friend’s spaghetti looked like a free lunch in kindergarten,I think the food size here is just for the children ,not for the adults. I wouldn’t be here next time.

What Italian food should be. This is the first time I've hopped online straightaway to review a place. The food was simple but perfect and the service was lovely and made me happy. If I lived in Auckland I would come here regularly, it's not easy to find the real deal!

Awesome place, authentic food.. so very friendly staff

Absolutely beautiful restaurant with wonderful staff.

Started with the Charcuterie with cheese and tigella bread. All the meats were very good and all unique in their own way. The tigella bread can be cut down the middle filled with the cheese and topped with meats and salads as suggested by our server. The only way to eat this i say.

The Tortelloni with buffalo ricotta was hands down the best smelling, tasting, and looking dish i have been served at an Italian restaurant in New Zealand. I highly recommend this one.

Also tried the tagliatelle bolognese which was good. I would have preferred more pepper and pecorino bit that was on me for not asking.

Decent wine selection. Tried a organic syrah blend amore e follia and it was beautiful. Cant wait to come back

Every time I walk pass this restaurant I see two ladies in the front window making fresh hand-made pasta. So gotta try this place out. For appetiser we ordered tigella (kinda like flat bread, crispy outside and warm fluffy inside) with cheese and sopressa salami. For $18 you receive 1 piece bread, 2 bites of cheese and 3 slices salami on the plate. I’ll let you decide if it’s value for money. For mains, Tortellini with chicken broth (only available Fri, Sat and Sun) and gnocchi with chicken ragout and mushrooms. Both outstanding dishes. Tiramisu tasted great, Panna cotta was okay. Overall a nice place to dine.

So many pasta options to choose from that I just could not decide! Came here for lunch on a weekday, and though it was a bit pricey, Pasta & Cuore has to be one of the most decent pasta stops in Auckland. Will definitely be back!

Delicious fresh handmade pasta. Cute little restaurant with friendly service. Portion was a little bit smaller, but not too bad. Love to come here again in the future.
Benedict Uy
You can see them hand make the pasta in the shop window so you know that the pasta here is going to be good.

There isn't a lot of seating inside but they also have an outside area which has heating and more tables. The menu looks interesting as it looks like a hand made scrap book and there is a decent selection of pastas and other food inside. They also had specials in a bottle on the table. The service was quite good, being checked on a couple of times before ordering and a couple more afterwards.

Had the zucchini carpaccio to share at the start. It didn't look like what I expected since the zuccini were in rolls instead of flat but it was really tasty with the balsamic and parmesan. I had the special potato, mushroom and truffle ravioli and it was delicious. The butter sauce with the pasta and creamy potato filling was just amazing. So simple and tasty. I also had the budino chocolate pudding and that was a bit different than what I had expected (more like a flan instead of a cake) but delicious nonetheless.

A really good place if you are craving pasta. The only issue was that like other great pasta places, the portions are fairly small, I could easily devour two or three plates but it was almost $30 a plate. It also looked like you could buy some pasta to cook at home.

Great pasta with an open kitchen where you can see the chefs at work.

I called for a last minute booking on a busy Saturday night and the lady over the phone was super accommodating and fit us in. The service overall was excellent - waiters very attentive, friendly and the food came out in a timely manner.

I got the special pork sausage gnocchi and my friend ordered the tagliatelle with ragout. The pasta in both dishes were extremely well made and my sauce was also really good, although my friend said his sauce was a little dry. The charcuterie board was excellent, especially the flatbread it came with which had a great crunch yet was soft on the inside, would definitely recommend getting the extra bread if you order this.

Overall:
Ambience 4/5
Service 4.5/5
Quality 4/5
Portion size 4/5
Presentation 4/5
Value 3.5/5

Overall, this is a super solid specialty pasta restaurant with great service and an open kitchen. I also heard that the fresh pasta that they sell here is super high quality.
Food And People
We had an incredible night here. We sat in the upstairs area. There was tons of room at the time for lol of us. I loved the table layout with books for browsing and the specials in a bottle. The staff are friendly, genuine and professional. The pasta is incredible and freshly made. The menu describes things well and I was easily transported to Italy. The real thing not the tourist version. We will be back here in a flash

After all the hype we thought it time to try out Amano and Cotto’s Mt Eden-based competition, Pasta & Cuore. From street view the place looks like
nothing more than a pasta shop but head out the back and you find a romantic little courtyard filled with tables that really transport you out of Auckland and into Italy.

The antipasti were nothing to write home about- we chose the zucchini carpaccio and a caprese salad, neither of which was very flavoursome, and we hadn’t realised the former was pretty much just raw shavings of zucchini.

The pasta though, now that was something special. We ordered the Gnocchi alla Roma (gnocchi made with semolina) which was very different to your normal gnocchi but was a treat, the spaghetti alla chitarra which came with this creamy subtle Gorgonzola cream sauce which balanced well with the crunch of the walnuts, and the tortellini. The tortellini arrived and it was delicious- al dente to perfection, with this creamy sauce, and stuffed with this delightful mystery substance (which we were drooling over until our stomaches dropped and we realised we were eating a meat- not the best realisation for two vegetarians). For dessert we chose the tiramisu (always) which was pretty decent but we’ve had better, and the pannacotta, which as panna cottas go, was actually pretty delicious.

Overall the pasta is fantastically fresh and succulent, the wine selection is fantastic and the restaurant itself is intimate and authentic. Would recommend giving it a go!

I'm obsessed with this place, I've been twice and have loved the starters, mains, and desserts I've gotten. I think the prices for the starters and the portion for gnocchi could be better but that's just me. :)

Hesitant to write this review as I don't want too many people to know how good this place is! Our new favourite restaurant to go to for date night.
Evilmaikel
One of the few places in auckland where you can get homemade fresh pasta for either takeaway or dine in. Great quality but far too expensive in my opinion as all pasta dishes are $28,- and up. They should at least offer some cheaper lunch options
Ken
Caught up with a friend at this buzzing little spot on a Tuesday night, had to put our names on a wait list since it was full but we were more than happy to grab a drink elsewhere before coming back for dinner. Took a little longer for our table to come available but understandable since that’s just how wait list works. Menu can be confusing since it’s quite authentic(lots & lots of Italian words lol), but the waitress was super helpful & was absolutely delightful! Tried a few of their wine & the Arneis was a stand out! Pasta had great texture but flavor was somewhat lacking, but will definitely come back to try other items on the menu!

Lunch here on a weekday afternoon, surprisingly busy ( about 1:30 when we arrived ) ... we were seated in the backyard which is nice shaded.

The pasta are very good, freshly made pasta and flavourful sauce.... however the size of the meal is petite for the price.

And the wait was ridiculously long ... Took almost 45 mins for the 2 pasta...we were staving...😅
Vincent
First impression : being ignored by the staff and somehow they greet the group came after us
Secondly : Pasta was ok / pricey comparing to the portion
Andrew Jones
As much as I wanted to enjoy this restaurant I really just didn’t. The food was ok, but expensive considering what it was. I have trialed many Italian restaurants and this just wasn’t one the bests.
Clarice Natasha
One of the most overrated pasta place in Auckland. We waited for more 45 mins for our food (we came at 1 pm and only received our food at nearly 2), and when we asked one of the staff where our food is (or how long do we have to wait), he replied rudely with “you know there are other customers than you.”
I ordered the Tagliatelle with Prosciutto and lemon zest - taste fresh, I love the pasta, but the taste is very simple and salty.
And my friend ordered gnocchi, which just tasted like cheese.
Overall, I was very disappointed.
J Eats
Absolutely love this place. Especially the small outdoor setting. The gnocchi takes awhile to bake but oh is it worth it. Ravioli tastes just as great.
Jason Yeoh
The waitresses were all very friendly and helpful. Ordered the fettucine Bolognese which tasted good but was too salty. Also maybe this is how it is really done in Italy but I don't taste any tomato sauce at all, only a really meaty taste with some kind of umami-ness to it. The fettucine was really good. The surface was slippery and smooth and the fettucine itself was bouncy and chewy with an al dente bite to it.

Serving size was a bit small though for what is usually considered a main dish and costed NZD 26. I didn't feel quite full after eating it. Even my girlfriend who usually gets full really quick felt like it wasn't enough.

This is not a huge deal but the water bottles provided were a bit small so it runs out real quick. We did see one of the other tables that were given bigger water bottles. The waitresses are attentive though and regularly refill the water bottles.
Doris Ma
I came here tonight with a mate and ordered a spaghetti alla chitarra, gnocchi alla Romana, and a tiramisu to finish off. The food was amazing! We thought we hadn't ordered enough in the beginning but we were full and satisfied in the end.
The spaghetti was cooked perfectly and had generous amounts of creamy sauce. The crunchy walnuts complemented it well. The gnocchi was probably the best I've had, a burst of cheese and garlic flavors, crispy on the outside as it came straight from the oven. The tiramisu had a strong and aromatic coffee flavor. Ambience was lovely and service was top notch.
Tony Shi
Amazing pasta, really authentic. Nice that they also sell pasta which you can take home to cook yourself and how the menu has pages describing the different types of pasta they serve.
Staff were extremely friendly and the restaurant has a great vibe to it.
As much as the food was a delight to eat, I felt the prices are a bit on the high side for the portion you get ($29 for the ravioli and $26 for the tagliatelle) hence my rating of only 3/5 otherwise an easy 4/5.
So for those after some fantastic pasta, look no further but for those after a decent feed without overspending, probably give this place a miss.
#fatlyfe
Super authentic place. Very attentive staff who are also friendly. Tried the beetroot gnocchi along with the bruschetta and then panna cotta for desert. The gnocchi wasn’t for me but that’s not to say it wasn’t nice it just wasn’t for me. The panna cotta was amazing and I wished I had ordered 2!!

I was there at early of the year! Their homemade pasta is great!!! It is cosy place. Serving staffs are polite and friendly. I like the way they do the menu which gave us a bit of story about different type of pasta~~ would love to come back here again.

It was great place to have a diner :) i love the pasta with Avocado. Also i love the eggplant with cheese(?). Enjoyed Italian atmosphere:) kind staff:)
WILSON
I will give food 4 star but service I only can give 1.
Waitress has no face expression for customer service and at afternoon 3pm when have 8 staff including kitchen staff but no one cares about customers been waiting to be served, quite snobby to be honest.
Darren Big Belly
Wow. No wonder this place won the top 50 restaurant few years in a row!
This place serves authentic pastas that Italians will not be ashamed of. Nothing is bland or too salty. You can really taste the ingredients.
Service was great and friendly. Nothing bad to say. The meal totalled $90. Was a little pricy. Apart from that it’s a 5/5
ViviAn JC WU
First time to try the fresh made pasta. It was an amazing experience! Beautiful dining place with delicious dishes. Really worth to come and I would like to buy some back home next time:)

We ordered the Tagliatelle w/ classic Bolognese Ragout and the Potato Gnocchi served w/ Sautéed Vegetables. The flavours of both dishes were outstanding and perfectly seasoned.

Staff were very friendly and knowledgable. Outdoor garden seating felt very cozy and inviting.

What really set this restaurant apart from other Italian restaurants in Auckland was the fact that they make all their pasta fresh on site and that you could actually see the staff making everything from scratch through the glass barrier.

A really great experience overall.
Dave Koefoed
If you want authentic Italian food, other than being in Italy itself, and we know as we have been to Italy, then this is the restaurant to visit. From starters to dessert we were not disappointed. The service from mostly Italian born staff was awesome, as was there knowledge of their extensive wine list.
Mcm
We went in a big group (I called a few days prior and booked, to make things easier) and they had set up a big table for us upstairs, Love the fact the restaurant didn't have us order a set menu as many restaurants do when a party exceeds 12 people.

The service was very good! All the waiters and waitresses were very helpful, especially in recommending wines.

The Pasta!! ahhh my ravioli was delightful. I love this place. We will be back that's for sure.

Best Italian Food In Town!
We wanted to try something different and found this restaurant on search. It has excellent ambiance and friendly staff service. It was amazing and delicious food to experience true taste of traditional Italian delicacies.
Recommendation: Tagliatelle with avocado, red onion, extra virgin olive oil and grated Parmigiano Reggiano.
Fairfoodie
Delicious fresh pasta made on the premises. My favourites: the tortelloni (large tortellini ) with a sage and butter sauce, spaghetti with a Gorgonzola and walnut sauce.
I am not a dessert fan but the tiramisu is to die for.
Extensive Italian wine list. Yum!
Love how they only make Italian coffee. No flat whites.
Authentic Italian food which deserves to be savoured and devoured slowly.
Queena
Walked in here on a rainy day as the restaurant we wanted to go to was packed. The place felt very warm and cosy. The staff were energetic and friendly.

The bruschetta we ordered for entrée was so nice. Simple but the flavours were spot on. Although I didn’t like how hard the bruschetta was. Totally understand it’s kind of meant to be like that but wasn’t pleasant having it dig into your gums and the roof of your mouth.

The pasta itself was nice - nothing too special in my opinion. Quite small portions for the price though. We also got roasted veges which was good but probably not worth $17.

Overall would still come back but only for those special occasions or “treat yourself” days.
Tony Harper
Pasta & Cuore creates superb food with exceptionally good, helpful, service. If this restaurant was placed anywhere in Italy it would set the standard for others to follow. The wine list is carefully chosen and is of a very good standard. The staff love what they do and it shows in their enthusiasm and the things they do to ensure you really enjoy your time dining at their table.
Kenny Nguyen
Great freshly made pasta. On the expensive side but you pay for the quality, tender love and care. Would recommend booking a place in advance.
Maria Bonnici
I would definitely rate this as one of the best pasta meals that I've had in Auckland. I ordered the ricotta filled tortelloni with a sage and butter sauce, and it was perfect. Delicious, fresh and a good balance of flavours. Customer service was super friendly too. Will be returning again soon!
I Love To Chew Real Food
it's legit one of my favorite pasta restaurant ever in Auckland. love the homey ambiance nestled in Mount Eden area and oh boy, love their freshly made pasta! I can go on and on with it but you gotta eat it yourself. Thumbs up!
Diogo Reck
Wanted to try this place since the first day I passed by it. You can see the staff preparing the food from the window, it's so charming and inviting.

Been there with a group of friends and it was up to my expectations. Nice pasta, delicate flavours. The bruschetta was also very good, simple but so tasty.
Angelaroswita
Truly, they serve meals that would just turn your pretty disastrous day 180 degree better. The pasta was fresh and the setting makes you feel like you’re in little Italy
Riddhi
Have been wanting to go here for ages as I would always pass it while going into town. In the main area of mount Eden village so a bit tricky for parking. Finally had lunch here on a Wednesday around 11.30. It was an early lunch so was still very empty when we arrived.

Service here was impeccable, gave us time to decide what we wanted, really friendly and polite.

We ordered the pork main as well as the ravioli of the day which was pork sausage filling in a butter sauce. Both mains were good portion sizes (especially the pork) and were super filling. The ravioli I found to be slightly undercooked as the sides of the pasta sheets were slightly hard. It was also quite rich. The pork was super tasty, but slightly on the dry side.

We spent around $60 between 2 people including one drink which was decent. I personally think it was slightly overpriced, but a nice place that was different to try out. However I wouldn’t say it was stand out enough to want to keep going again and again.

Angelmolgo
Food was ok, plates are very small and quite expensive. Tiramisu was also good and staff were very nice. I give it 2 because there were 2 RATS in the deck next to the tables where we were having our meal, we told the staff and they didn’t seem to care, they just closed the main door. It was a horrible experience, so I don’t recommend this place.
Medium_Rare
I’ve never had Italian food like this before.

I don’t want to say that I’ve been transported to the lively bologna and visiting the various medieval and renaissance structures around. But my mouth had me saying ‘ mama mia ‘ for sure!

First, I want to say that the menu that they have here is fantastic because I love how homely the menu is. The story of about the businesses owner and her family, the background of her type of Italian cuisine and the what inspirations are used for cooking and cute illustrations of the different pasta types just made our wait time for our meals nonexistent.

What is clearly established here is authenticity and I love that feeling, we ordered a few different dishes, I personally felt the tortellini was a little too salty for me which could have been caused by the broth which is weird because I really liked the broth, the gnocchi was fantastic. The suggested wine went well with our food as it really expanded some of the flavors, however, I just can't remember the recommended white wine.

A fantastic experience overall, and I can't wait to come back. I do feel that the restaurant is a little pricey but in this case, I was more than happy with the pricing.

Showstopper: Potato Gnocchi

Overall Grade: A-

Very good. Love it. Been here twice already. I do recommend people who love pasta to try this out. If you have more then two people I recommend you order side dish.

This place was absolute perfection!

The atmosphere here is chill and refreshing. I love the décor and the garden seating at the back! It’s a nice break from the city setting.

The pasta! Omg the pasta is perfection! It’s so fresh and has a very authentic taste.
My friend and I were able to meet the owner of this place and we can see that his heart for the food and the place is out worked in everything.

I very highly recommend this place.
Doctordin
Great, well made food. The pasta is obviously hand made and fresh and tastes fantastic. I like places that get the basics right and as far as italian food goes these guys nailed it.

They struggled to cope with a busy night but tried hard. The ambiance in the courtyard was just lovely on a nice early summer’s evening.
Michelle Chua
Having said that everything was authentic, pure Italian recipe and freshly cooked / ingredients.

From the outside it looks small and simple but on the inside, it's a totally different structure. It's spacious and it's simple and there's a backyard dining area which gives the natural feel to the environment.

Staffs are very welcoming and friendly which shows good service right there.

Ordered the gnocchi and it was delicious. Should give it a try next time. I would go back for more to try on the different pasta with diff sauce.

👌🏻👌🏻
Foodie123
Nice atmosphere and service, choice of inside and outside space for seating. However food was average and priced quite highly for what we got.
Mmmfood
Since I like to start on a positive note, let me just say that the homemade pasta is excellent, the handmade menus are a lovely touch and the outdoor area has a very nice atmosphere. They also make a beautiful latte macchiato. Unfortunately, this is where the praise ends. We did not feel welcome in this restaurant at all. Even though the place was more than half empty the entire time we were there, the first table offered to us was the one right next to the door, which we respectfully declined. After I finished looking at the menu, it took quite a while until we were able to place our order. This was not for a lack of staff or a lack of visibility of our table, as we were right in the middle of the restaurant. It just seemed that the entire staff was busy talking and walking around rather than making eye contact with their customers. Once we had managed to place our order, again, it took a while until the food came. While the homemade pasta is something very special, the sauces that came with our dishes were a complete let-down for a lack of flavour, creaminess or meat. However, more than the food, it was the attitude of the staff that left a bad taste in my mouth. The only time we were faced with a smile or enthusiasm was when they said their goodbyes as we were leaving the restaurant. (Really!?)

This place is so delicious and uses the best quality of ingredients available. The pasta is made fresh on the spot with amazing sauces. So unique and definitely a must !

Worst customer service ever with below average/inedible dish. The carbonara should named the 'Salt with the hint of carbonara'. I was so shocked with my first bite, as literally my tongue was so sore, painful and had burning sensation from it's saltiness. Two of my colleagues who were there with me tried the dish (as they thought I was over-reacting) and were all shocked by the saltiness.

We asked the waitress whether the dish should be this salty and they proudly and bluntly said 'it's pancetta, it should be salty'. I do aware that pancetta is salty so you have to balance the taste of your dish. It should be edible.

Not only giving me the food that is literally causing the agony, the friendly attitude of them totally changed since after my complaint (it was not even complaint, I asked whether it should be this salty).
They started to stare at us and talking in Italian. I have no problem for you guys talking in Italian or whatever language but you should not stare at your customer while you are having a conversation between yourselves. You should not stare at your customer and laugh at them either. It is a problem of you guys when it is not only myself but group of customers felt the same, VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.

I do understand the waitress or the chef might not be happy with my comment stating your dish was salty. However, as a business and customer service provider, you have to improve the quality of service/how to improve/how to react when it comes to the customers complaint.

I do wish all the best for your business and I hope none of your customer ending up getting high blood pressure due to your BLOODY SALTY DISH. Buona fortuna!

Hand made fresh pasta, lovely staff who know their trade. Slightly on the expensive side and the portions leave you hungry but overall a good place. They are one of the few places who display what they do through the clear glass walls of the outlet. This place has carved a niche for itself in the bustling Mt Eden village area. You have to give them credit for their hard work and love for pasta. keep up the good work..

3 small boxes of pasta. Soggy and stuck together was what I got from my uber eats yesterday. Tiramisu and pannacota both room temperature, wet and runny.

Never order uber eats from here... I hope their pasta is better at their restaurant.

This order cost almost $100, took exactly an hour to deliver by uber bicycle, and I threw it all in the bin.

Disgusting.

Great food, Great service but very very average serving sizes. If you're hungry get atleast 2 entrees because a main definitely didn't touch the sides

I love the taste of the pasta here, and enjoy it each time. But one thing you need is patience. The service is on an Italian style too I believe.

But if you are prepared to open a bottle of wine and have a good chat over entree, then you are in for a good time.

The flavours are very rich and bold, and washing down with a good red is almost mandatory to perfect it.

The photo attached is the Potato gnocchi

We have been to Pasta & Coure for a few times and every visit always been amazing.

Great atmosphere, feels just like dining at home! Service was great, water topped up regularly and our cutleries was changed from entree to main.

We tried different dishes accross different occasions, lunch, dinner, dessert, take away from cabinet. Food always delicious. Pasta cooked perfectly and flavour always nyum!! Our favourite dishes so far, bruchetta (fresh tomato and bread was superb!!), chicken gnochi, and tiramisu!

The only down side is waiting time, our last visit was early dinner, restaurant got a little busy, and we waited for 30 mins plus for our main. Still delicious though. Nyum, thank you Pasta&Coure.
"Handmade Pasta" just sounds so authentic and warming. We had passed the store in Mt Eden several times and vowed to go eat there one day after watching the kitchen roll out the pasta.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the place upstairs seems like someone's home dining room. There are books on the table and carpet on the floor.
We ordered two pasta dishes and one starter of bread. The bread was nothing special, but then again it's just bread.
The pasta was delicious. Not amazing, but still very delicious. There was no Pappardelle on the menu as a dish but they did make it downstairs. You can also buy fresh handmade pasta to take home.

When we heard about this place our expectations were high - but it all went south when we got there. Food and ambiance were way too average. The portion sizes looked like it was a kid's portion or that of a degustation size meal! I ordered the carbonara, the sauce was too salty and the pasta was under cooked. This place is overrated considering the prices $$$. Though the tiramisu was quite nice hence I am giving it 2 points.

Best pasta I've ever tasted in my life. I love the atmosphere of this place too. You can see all the beautiful pasta in the cabinet when you walk in. The menus are beautiful and the staff are friendly. I definitely recommend the tomato bruschetta as my whole family loved it. The service was pretty quick and we got our appetisers, olive oil bread and water almost immediately. They also managed to make Brussel sprouts taste amazing coating them in a garlicky buttery sauce. We will definitely be returning.

I had really high hopes for this restaurant however, we did not have a very pleasant dining experience. We went here for a date night and was seated right in front of the toilet which made our entire night very awkward. The mains came out and the waitress got one of our pasta order wrong as well as our appetizer was missing bread which made order seemingly more expensive. Overall, the pastas and desserts were average and a bit over priced for the amount and quality that you receive.

One piece of advice would be to remove the tables right in front of the toilet as this is not a pleasant place to sit while dining in a restaurant.
Love love love love this place !!! The decor the lighting was just the cutest. Best pasta I've had ever in NZ. The real deal ❤️ so much I had to pack some home. Can't wait to come again. Although the zucchini salad thing was a bit average compared to their pasta, which I couldn't take a pic of because it smelt too good.

The pasta is so nice. But the small portion that is like not enough for a man. But taste absolutely great and I would like to come back and try the others. Love the environment and the staff are nice too. Good explanation of the differences the pastas they made. It's a nice one~~

I haven't been to Italy (yet) but when I walk into Pasta e Cuore this is what I'd imagine a typical Italian household to be like.

It's so warm and inviting from the moment you walk in the chefs are making fresh pasta right in front of your eyes. The two story restaurant looks more like a cosy little house and the Italian wait staff definitely make the whole place feel more authentic.

The staff are extremely warm and welcoming, they have no issue teaching you about their culture and how to pronounce some of the words on the menu and telling you what they mean.

The pastas are not fancy - they are mostly humble bowls with no frills around the edges, which I love. It's simple food created perfectly.

One of my favourites is the fettucine con prosciutto e limone.

Love this place for a humble yet delicious and authentic Italian meal.

Very truly Italian specific from the area of Bologna. The owner and the people respect my culture 100% very hospital people smiling and overwhelmed! the place is nice fresh and clean. If you really want learn about food home made and have a real taste of Bologna you should try this place!!!! I loved and recommend this place!!!!
FoodMakesMeHappy
I went with my two other girl friends. We all thought that it was over priced(probably because of its location) With the same money we could go fine dinning in town. Food was nice but the portion was so small!!! Not sure if I will go back

Wait for a really long time for 2 small plates of pasta. Hope it can be made as double size lol. The gorgonzola sauce was great,if the walnuts can be toasted a little bit it would be better I reckoned. Pasta are freshly made which is so chewy and yummy.

My partner and I had a wonderful late lunch at Pasta & Cuore in the Mr. Eden section of Auckland, and I happily recommend them to everyone who loves fresh, delicious food, lovingly prepared. There are many aspects of the experience at Pasta & Cuore to recommend: they are one of the few restaurants in the area to remain open for late lunches or early suppers; they have a wonderful pasta daily special which is an outstanding value at $20 - yesterday, the daily special featured fresh peas, asparagus, and green beans, prepared to accompany the fresh pasta; they make their fresh pasta daily, and also have it available to take home, as well as to eat at the restaurant; they advertise their food as "handmade and heart-made," and I totally agree with their description; they also make fresh desserts daily, which are superb. In short, a wonderful place to eat which I wholeheartedly recommend!

Today's Husky lunch adventures takes us to Pasta & Cuore (that's Italian for “heart”) — home to (you guessed it) pasta that's fresh and lovingly homemade. Upon entering you'll see tortellini, tiny ring-shaped parcels wrapped in minced pork shoulder, parma ham and mortadella, formed with masterful hands. The cabinets host a variety of freshly-made pasta, sold by the gram to take home to make yourself (Friday dinners, sorted!) The place was pristine — while lilies, mismatched white are and cardboard menus give the place an offhandedly pleasant feeling, like you've come home. We were ushered to the room upstairs, a good wintery alternative to the courtyard; everything was painted white save for the framed diary pages lined up on the walls. We imagine it'd be a beautiful space for lunch meetings, or customised for intimate gatherings or showers.

Service was attentive — we were asked if the heater needed to be turned up (good move) as we paged through the extensive menu, each section explaining the origins and definitions of their floury craft. We particularly enjoyed the exaltation on the first page: “Spaghetti bolognese doesn't exist”(!) Don't worry, you won't find the overly creamy and bloating portions of Portofino here — instead, think humble mouthfuls of perfectly al dente pieces, accented with simplistic but by-no-means exquisite flavours (aromatic olive oils, organic tomato, or clear, clear chicken broth). It'll leave you ample room for dessert (we sadly had to miss out), but this place (and all the accents) had us dreaming of Italy, the real thing.

Check out our individual comments here: husk.co.nz/lunches/pasta-amp-cuore-july-2016

Good, quick, fresh, simple, tasty! The place is deceptive in size (like most in Mt Eden Village) and have upstairs seating. Dont be put off if it looks full.

I've been hearing a lot of positive comments about this place and thought I should try it out. This place was everything I expected and more. Their pasta is simply exquisite and you can even just buy the pasta so you can cook them at home. They keep their food simple and tasty. The menu explains the different pasta that is available.
I was quite surprised by how good the desserts were! Their pannacotta was simply amazing. Would definitely recommend.

La comida es deliciosa, la pasta hecha a mano es lo mejor. La atención y el servicio son increibles. Por mejorar el sistema de reservas pues no hay confirmación

Amazing food here. I’m glad I stopped by with friends. It’s a small place, but it has an outdoor area as well and is decorated quite nicely. It feels like just the place you could go and have a study session with friends. Staff were lovely and gave out positive friendly vibes. They were happy to explain the food option in the menu when we weren't sure about them. The menus look like they are handmade and not only has the food options, but it has information about the restaurant too. While your food is being made I suggest to keep a menu on the table to have a read. The food is pricey, but it's worth it! Unfortunately I forgot to take note of my dishes name. The pasta tastes so fresh, is soft and it's made right then and there in the store! I would absolutely like to visit here again.

Finally made it here.... Came to Mt Eden for a late lunch and this is another place where the kitchen doesn't close after 2! Small place but so well laid out that it doesn't seem like it. Very homely feel - love the open kitchen. Service was excellent. Fresh pasta is the theme and OMG it's excellent. We tried 3 different pasta dishes and all of them delicious. Will be back.

Since it’s opening late last year, Pasta and Cuore has been on my ever-growing restaurant checklist. As their name suggest, Pasta & Cuore specialises in handmade fresh Italian pasta and their dishes changes regularly with daily specials that highlight local produce and quality ingredients.

Great pastas, deserts, coffee and lemonade. Even though the size of the dish might surprise some, it is really quite enough to fill you up. Moreover, you really should save some space up for a tiramisu :) staff is friendly and offers a good service. Casual atmosphere. Perhaps, slightly more expensive than expected.

Had the pleasure of dining here for lunch. Food was absolutely amazing! The Buffalo ricotta tortelloni is probably the best meal I've had in my life and don't get me started with the tiramisu. Only downside was the only chicken dish they had ran out, just shows how great the food is. Will definitely be coming back on a regular basis (and more importantly for my birthday) :D

First impression for the place is open kitchen and you can see how they make pasta from outside, decoration also nice and simple. Service was on top from Italian staff.

I appreciated the fact that they used high quality ingredients and most are handmade (heartmade as their name) All dishes we ordered, pasta or raviolis were so fresh and cooked to perfection. However the sauces were pretty bland for my taste. We were looking for salt and pepper but we couldn't see any. Prices are pretty high for the quantity of food both savory and dessert. $26 for pumpkin ravioli on special menu. I was pretty surprised when it was served.

Tiramisu was alright with too much cream. Chocolate mousse was really good but would be better if there was more cookie or some short bread to eat with.

If you haven't tried real Italian homemade pasta, you should give it a try.

Ordered Tagliatelle with classic bolognese and panna cotta. The pasta is to die for - flavor of the sauce was well-balanced and pasta was soft and fresh. One pays for the quality, not so much for the quantity. However, even as a big eater, i find the quantity just right. Anything more i might feel overloaded with pasta, and I've got enough space to fit in the dessert.

The panna cotta was not-too-sweet so it's perfect for someone who doesn't like overly-sweet dessert. The soft, thick, milky panna cotta was perfect with the well-toasted almond flakes. The overall texture of soft and crunchy is perfect!

The overall ambience is casual and homely. The staff are all friendly and attentive and the food was served pretty fast too - about 20-30min wait at 7pm on a Saturday night. Definitely one of the more authentic Italian restaurants to go to.

WOW!

Where do i start? The atmosphere in here is amazing! It feels like going home for food, very comfortable, nicely decorated without trying too hard.

Service is nice, the staff is friendly and happy. They can probably do with a bit more structure so the staff are assigned to different areas so diners don't get asked whether they have ordered by different staff one after another. Tiny bit chaotic at busy times it seems.

The pasta left me speechless. So fresh and perfectly cooked with the most simple yet delicious flavours. AMAZING! We also ordered the meatloaf which took a little too long to be served but yummy nonetheless.

Desserts were quite big in terms of serving size for the price. The panna cotta was the best! Tiramisu was also delicious, abit too much cream for my preference.

Overall, amazing restaurant! I can't wait to come back and try all of the pasta!

Absolutely delicious hand made pasta. It's always cooked al dente which is a must if I'm to get my pasta fix.

A sound belief in quality ingredients prepared with care means impeccable food at Pasta & Cuore. Organic free range eggs are used, no refined salt or sugars and only EVO in the kitchen.

The sauces are tasty and It's fabulous they offer them for take away. Eat in prices are in the low to mid 20s. Take away and cook yourself including sauce ranges from $12 taglietelle, $17 gnocchi. $22 big filled ravioli.

From appetiser to dessert. This store is bomb af. The flavouring of each pasta are all on point. Just that the chicken from our spicy gnocchi taste real heavy scented with the chicken smell. Other than that, Things are definitely worth it. Pricing is higher than usual restaurant but it's totally worth it because it's all handmade. 😋 need to try it's avo tagliatelle!! Super bomb. 💓

My boyfriend and I had our eye on this wee place for awhile and it lived up to our expectations! Although slightly more dear in price, we understood that we were paying for the quality of the pasta rather than the quantity. We ordered the mozarella cheese with assorted salad, tagliatelle ragout, the chicken broth tortellini, and the potato gnocchi with chicken and sage. We loved the ragout - the pasta was soft and firm at the same time, which I think is a mark of great pasta. The freshly made tagliatelle was exquisite. The broth on the tortellini was wholesome and hearty, and the tortellini themselves were enough to be tantalising, while leaving you wanting more. The gnocchi, while tasty, was a bit chewy however. The sage was also a bit overpowering. The staff were kind, and because we came quite late, they were very accommodating and aware to that fact. Could not recommend this place any more.

I read about this place in Viva magazine.

It's a well hidden gem in the heart of Mt Eden Village.

We were seated out the back in a cute & tranquil courtyard - it was hard to believe we were just on the city fringe.

The pasta dishes we had were on the smaller side, but they were delicious. Simple ingredients from the garden are used, as well as the pasta being frehsly handmade in plain sight as you walk in. They were lovely and light, we walked away feeling like we just had a healthy salad instead of Pasta - its that's good!

The staff are also friendly and approachable, and they certainly know their dishes.

As mentioned before, the pasta is made fresh on site and in sight daily. You can even buy it to take home to cook, and they even sell their sauces!

Will be coming back here again.

My friend had tried takeaway from this new spot before & found it delicious so we decided to give them a try for dinner.
It is a narrow restaurant with an open kitchen (always a positive) & a courtyard out the back. We sat out in the courtyard which was nice on a summer evening although the number of flies was a downer. It was however great to see some vegetables being grown in the raised garden beds - tomatoes, silverbeet & herbs amongst other things.
Service was fantastic - very engaging & helpful when it came to making the menu selection. Was great to hear authentic Italian accents too!
The beverage list was good - the homemade lemonade was a highlight amongst our group as were the Italian red wines. A good selection by the glass.
For our pasta mains we chose the ragu & vegetarian options. We also had a main serving of the roasted Veges which was a special of the night. The pasta was of course homemade & perfectly cooked. The ragu was delicious - just enough flavour & authentic. The vege pasta was tasty too with avocado & red onion. Only issue with these were that the portions were very small for $22. I would suggest adding a side or some breads, or having an entree.
The roasted Veges were again perfectly cooked & they were happy to make this into a main portion.
A nice visit & enjoyable particularly with the friendly service.

The first time A and I dined at Pasta & Cuore, they had recently opened and I think a little overwhelmed at being so busy. We managed to secure a teeny tiny table in front of the open kitchen and enjoyed a lovely meal of Spaghetti alla Chitarra and Tortellioni stuffed with ricotta di bufala with a glass of lovely Italian red wine. The spaghetti, those long strings of pasta I'd pass over for gnocchi or risoni, was especially delicious that I've made the switch again. I always buy spaghetti now.

Flavours to die for. I had read the reviews about the good food and maybe eclectic service and smaller portion sizes but wasn't prepared for just how good the food was! Passion can not be faked and the food is really from the heart.
With a zucchini carpaccio to share between three and then a main course each followed by 3 deserts from being hungry diners we left well satisfied. I can see how some people might look at the portion size of the mains but the flavours and authentic simplicity really does the trick and pasta is filling. I have eaten great pasta in Italy and London and this matches that, here right on our back doorstep. For dessert the tiramisu and budino were great but the pannacotta was exceptional and stole the show for me. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The wine list is 100% which is good to explore something different. As the restaurant is only new they are still settling in but this does take a while. Starting to sound like a review by a friend of the owner I know but rest assured this was our first time here but won't be the last.

Absolutely loved this place. Beautiful seating out the back, ideal on a summery evening. The food was spot on, portion size was perfect so you wouldn't feel overwhelmed by the flavours or leave with a heavy felling in your tummy. Also, don't leave without trying their tiramisu! Couldn't fault the service, they were attentive and very friendly. Great place!!

Came here for my birthday dinner last Thursday. We started with the cheese platter, which had a good range and were delicious. This was followed by three different pasta, which we shared, and they were cooked perfectly, with excellent flavour. Very pleased with the vegetarian range available. The service and ambience was superb too, would definitely come back again.
Peter
Don't forget this place is also a shop... So you can buy their delicious hand made pastas and sauses to take home and cook, I have bought the bolognese and the seafood sauses and they were Fantastic...
Mike Pohl
Great flavours but portions too small for the price.Friendly if chaotic service.
Keep the flavours of Italy and add some Kiwi efficiency and generosity of portions and will be a grat dining place.
Diana
Lovely setting, particularly the garden, and it's nice to watch them make the pasta in the window. The pasta is good, but the portion size is very small, $22-$26 for a serving only marginally larger than a starter seems rather stingy. I left still hungry. I appreciate that they use very high quality ingredients, but perhaps if they included a side salad and piece of bread then it would feel more like a meal and less like a snack!
Brian
The warm Italian greeting was followed by delicious tagliatelle for lunch. My wife had the avocado tagliatelle whilst I had the prosciutto tagliatelle. Perfecto!!! The Village has been missing an Italian flavour and this place is a welcome addition with an authentic taste of Italy. Can't wait to go back and try something else from the menu.
Cristina
Probably the most authentic Italian pasta restaurant in Auckland. Loved both pasta and the coffee. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the pasta dishes.
