Thanks Mala Samj

Raja's is the best we have tried, and we're so lucky that is our local. The food is consistently good, especially the black pepper chicken (my favourite). The butter chicken is perfect and the garlic naan is amazing. Thanks for the lovely delivery tonight, it made 2 sick people feel so much better.

The flavors of the dishes were bold and the meat was perfectly tender. The naan bread was delightfully soft and bursting with flavor. The service was efficient and the staff was incredibly attentive. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I am already looking forward to returning to sample more of their delicious offerings. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant to anyone in search of an authentic and delectable meal. Good place

I have been visiting Raja's for few years now and have always enjoyed their food and service. Very consistent with the quality everytime we go. Thank you for making my birthday so special and playing the birthday song for me.

Authentic Butter chicken which has tandoori chicken in it, not boiled chicken like other places. Manager was very helpful and even called us to re confirm how we wanted butter chicken to be. Keep up this quality and you will never lose customers đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ‘đŸ»đŸ‘đŸ»

I really enjoyed dining at this place. Food was very flavoursome. Its a bit on the pricey side but the servings are large. Service was excellent and the wait times reasonable. Parking can be a bother during peak times.

Had takeaway Butter chicken as read prior review, wow medium spice but had so much flavour ( I'm not a great lover of indian food) Wife went to pick up and said inside was really nice so next time we'll go there for dinner!

We went almost close to 9.30PM.. Still the food was very good and the Manager was very accommodating. The chefs were waiting until we are done with the orders. they played the music we liked. Will visit again for sure.

Most loveliest indian restaurant for date night. Food is divine aromatic & authentic tasting so delicious; richly and tender cooked mear in its spices and gravy best tasting ive had & naan is thin light buttery an garlic so fresh and rice cooked perfectly fluffy. Although not cheap its a real treat worth it for special dine out;professional friendly service & beatiful decor & environment; only thing was my.indian salad had a whole red onion sliced up which on the side i didnt eat other than that we ate everything so.delicious. I recommend this spot for special occasions quite lovely.

First time ordering food from Raja’s and on a cold and wet evening we thru caution to the wind. Ordered Butter Chicken both mild and medium and Chicken Tika Masala. All three dishes were really good and the Butter Chicken best we have eaten. The non-contact delivery in lockdown was handled perfectly and delivery was right on time. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back either eat in or takeaway.

The best Indian restaurant in east auckland . If you try this place you will never go anywhere else! Simply the best service

The food was pretty decent, but wouldn't recommend the drinks. The lassi was sour and we sent it back getting another drink (which they gave for free) but they cancelled our zomato gold offer because of this.

Raja Indian Restaurant is one of top restaurants in Auckland. They are awesome and they are best in what they do!!! Their food quality & taste is best in whole Auckland. The service is top and hospitality over all stands out and give you delightful experience every time you go at this beautiful place.

Highly recommended and must visit, once you are there, you can't resist again and again....

This is one of the top level Indian restaurant, I have ever been. Not only in New Zealand also worldwide. I'm not only talking about the beautiful interior design, excellent service, I'm talking about the magical taste in every dish they serve, which, no other restaurants in Auckland has. It's above the five star restaurant. It’s always worthy of making a trip to. Definitely recommend people in here .
Kyle
I think it was called the Punjabi chicken curry and the butter chicken, oh man, too damn good! And the best cheese garlic naan I’ve ever hadđŸ€€

We went there again on a Saturday night and had another wonderful experience. We could not have asked for better service. My partner has some dietary restrictions and nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff. We asked our dishes to be dairy and coriander free and the all the meals arrived exactly how we requested them to be and actually were delightful. The wait can be a little long sometimes but it is reasonable as it is not a fast food takeout. Plenty of good beverages to choose from in the mean time. Our favourite restaurant out east!

Food took 40minutes to come out to us yet there were only 4 other customers. Lamb pieces in the Lamb madras were cooked nicely however it was super salty and the paneer in the paneer tikka were extremely firm. Butter chicken was below average as it lacked flavour. Won’t be returning.
Ishaan Kochhar
The food is great and is perfect mix between authentic and kiwi blend. Tastes great food.
Sharleen
Been here only once but have noticed that all the staff are very welcoming, polite, and reguarly checking in if we are ok and need anything. Food was also very good, ended up ordering too much and the staff were kind enough to provide us with takeaway containers.

Outstanding, friendly, and knowledgeable service.

The staff is friendly and competent.

The atmosphere is casual and comfortable.

The food is delicious. Wonderful flavours across all the dishes we have tried.

Good food is good food. It doesn't have to come with pretense.

Which is exactly what we have always experienced at Raja's.

Pleasantly surprised. Loved it the first time and we keep coming back.

The restaurant serves food that is both traditional and authentic, yet it's a bit more refined than your typical Indian restaurant.

Definitely one of the best dining places for Indian cuisine in the Botany and Flat Bush Area.
Michael Ranjitsingh
Have visited the place for lunch quite a few times. The lamb madras and chicken tikka masala were a deadly combination. Very tasty and good sized portions for the price. Not a fan of the biryani. Surprised by how empty the place is every time we visit. Good speedy service. Plenty of parking outside. And the ambience and lighting is decent too. Will definitely return!
Rizelle Ariana Martinez
Strongly recommend this place, love love their naan bread was soft and flaky enjoyed it so much, we had the chicken biryani and the Chicken Tikka Masala also the butter chicken absolutely love everything.

First time to Raja’s, and it won’t be the last..
Ambience: beautiful, cosy & warm..
Customer Service: staff were so lovely & very welcoming. The manager was very knowledgable about the wines they had & made some really good suggestions which did not disappoint.
Food: super delicious & the spices were on point. Serving sizes were decent. We got the butter paneer & lamb vindaloo & they were delicious. To finish we got the mango kulfi & Amritsari kulfi, they were both very delicious & a nice way to end the evening.
Looking forward to going back

By far one of the best Indian food I have had in ages! I emailed the restaurant regarding booking for a table of 8 (27th Jan 2019) The lovely lady who rang me back was very nice over the phone. When we went inside, we were greeted by really “onto” it staff. The man who took our order (without noting anything down) .. was really onto it too. Didn’t screw up a single order, always checked in whether we wanted or needed anything, the food was PHENOMENAL.. I kid you not .. absolutely delicious!! I have no words for it .. the tandoori was cooked to perfection + the malai chicken.. wasn’t dry .. was perfect .. all the curries we ordered ... Rogan Josh, chicken tikka, Manchurian, lamb haandi, balti chicken.. tasted amazing, the chicken fried rice was also very very delicious + the garlic and cheese naan.. that’s what you call garlic and cheese naan .. had the perfect amount of cheese .. So flavoursome.. I couldn’t even flaw the place. I’m coming back every Tuesdays .. because that was just amazing food. WOW ! Thank you so so much ! I was scared that my family would ask me “what kind of restaurant did you book for your husband’s birthday” and that would have been humiliating.. I was praised for choosing such a brilliant restaurant .. thank you guys so much !! BRILLIANT STAFF, BRILLIANT FOOD .. please keep it up ..

Tried Raja's Indian restaurant for the first time and the food was delicious and worth its price. The manager on duty, Vikramjeet, was helpful, cooperative and gave excellent customer service. Would recommend to others and revisit again.

Just had a fantastic dine in at this wonderful restaurant the food was fresh and tasty and our hostess was helpful and attentive our compliments to the chefs we finally have found our favourite Indian restaurant and because I’m a stickler about cleanliness and hygiene at restaurants I rate this place 10/10

I have been to Rajas on many occasions and had nothing but good things to say. The food is nothing short of fantastic in quality of ingredients, presentation and taste. Authentic dishes that leave you wanting more. You can’t go wrong with their lovely Entrees, Chicken curries and of course the perfectly crispy & soft Naan bread. Their great service gives them the biggest advantage of all among other Indian restaurants. The ambience is exactly what you would want in a restaurant setting; lovely and calm. I recommend Raja’s to all whenever I get the chance.

P.S: If you’re wanting some advice on restaurant management then I recommend browsing through the reviews of Raja’s. TJ definitely knows how to run a successful business and is an incredibly easy to approach owner. He is willing to explain how the dishes are made and takes criticism openly.
Lyn Antony
The curries are always packed full of flavor and delicious here. I recommend the butter chicken, fish masala and chicken saag. This is my go to place for curries.

Visiting this place 1st time ( Last night )
Was a really Good Experience
Delicious food, Excellent Service.
We have tried their alloo tikki , paneer pakoda , palak paneer , kadhai paneer etc.
You can easily tell that food is totally made of fresh vegetables & spices ,
specifically palak paneer was made of fresh palak ( spinach Leaves) & fresh Paneer.
When most of restaurant use Frozen one.
Thank you T.J. (owner) for wonderful service with heaps of nice conversation and food explanation.
Would definitely visit again.
Wish if I could place more than 5 ⭐
👌😊

Food was between moderate to above average with beautiful chicken jalfrazi and butter chicken, and average coconut lamb. Found the owner pleasant and willing to take constructive criticism.

Although it's not on their written menu they will make you the best Beef Do Piaza. It's our regular takeaway treat. The fact they're always happy to accommodate our request is great too.
Yummy Nann too

Average Indian restaurant! We had a family meal here on a busy Friday night butter chicken 5/5, chicken jalfrazi 4/5, lamb madras 3/5, veg samosa 4/5. Staff lacked knowledge and were not attentive! We had trialled this restaurant for a future celebration but won’t be back!

Great food and great staff, specially would like to thank Mansi who took great care of our dietary requirements. If you’re looking for quality Indian food with authentic taste then this is the place to be.

On a whirlwind family trip from Australia, I decided to google closest Indian restaurants as I was having cravings. Raja’s came up, and I am so incredibly happy that it did. I ordered baingan bhartha (can’t remember what my parents got; one was prawn, and the other was some kind of chicken dish) plus garlic naan. My goodness, this was the best eggplant curry I have ever had!! I ordered it medium in terms of spicyness. This curry has inspired me to learn how to cook more diverse curries. I will be dreaming about it for years to come I’m sure. The naan was also a perfect accompaniment. In terms of service, couldn’t ask for better. Our waitress was so friendly, helpful, and courteous. If we’re ever back in this part of Auckland again I will definitely drop by Raja’s again. Thank you for the wonderful meal

Enjoyed the service, environment was very nice, the customer service was flawless. I felt like I was a boss and they would do anything I ask them to do. The food was so amazing ! Very good for couples families and friends ! I brought my mother here for Mother’s Day and she loved everything. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to take your partner/spouse or friend to dinner 😊 I tip them extra 10 dollars for making me and my mother satisfied ! 😊

The restaurant plays loud Indian music which is annoying. I’m very disappointed and with the greatest respect to Indian songs, the restaurant management need to take into account of the fact that they are not for everyone. Butter chicken is.

Friendly staff, authentic high quality cuisine with attention to detail. I've been to Raja's many times since my first visit. When I'm craving a hearty meal this is certainly as good as it gets. Highly recommended

Probably my definite go to when I’m craving Indian cuisine. Especially with their refillable rice, you will never leave Raja’s on an empty stomach! I’m not one for spice so I always get their classic butter chicken but they have a variety of curries ranging in spice levels. Their naan bread is coated in garlic butter, which gives it that extra flavour! The chicken is tender and the sauce tastes amazing as there is an equal balance between the sweetness and sourness. Portions are large and it’s really worth the price especially with their lunch specials!

The environment is clean and serene. Service is good also where I was greeted upon arrival and shown to a table without a fuss.

There is free parking available right outside and around the area!

Food 7/10
Ambience 6.5/10
Service 6.5/10
Price 7.5/10

very lovely atmosphere. friendly staff and wonderful food. curries are thick and full of meats/ cheese. would highly recommend. I suggest booking in advance as quite busy.

Top curry in Auckland! I have tried almost every popular Indian restaurants in Auckland and there's a reason why Im coming back to this place all the time! I highly recommend their spinich based curries and Rahra (lamb or chicken). So delicious!
Kylie
Rajas definitely is the
tastiest experience of Indian food I've had!! Thick & delicious sauces and
an extensive vegetarian selection, and a vegetarian it is fantastic that I can
keep trying different dishes when I go back - and each dish is as good as the
last.
The décor is really lovely and welcoming and offers a really nice and cozy
dining experience. The staff are very friendly, with management seeming to give
special attention to every single table, which adds to the overall experience.

Prices are reasonable and I believe they have some great deals on during the
week.
Definitely a restaurant worth going to!

Great food, amazing service and fantastic decour. Wait is sometimes slightly lengthy but they make sure to look after waiting customers with water, snacks and smiles. Would highly recommend.

I have taken a takeaway order last weekend and I found that the dal makhani was not up to the mark. Taste wasn't fresh same goes with Palak Paneer. However, Navrattan Korma and Malai Kofta was awesome.
Mala Deshpande
There CHEF has changed and now we don't get that awesome Chicken Korma. I am really missing it. Food is still good but the presentation is not good. I hope they bring there earlier chef back.

A very good place to have dinner with family and friends. Very cozy and service was amazing. My favorite was fish amristari which was lip smacking. Overall a very neat and gr8 place.

Couldn't recommend this place enough! Well priced, delicious food and excellent service! We tried this as it was a recommendation from friends, and now we are recommending it ourselves!
the service was incredible, the waiter reminded us of the deals that they had going. We shared a dishes amongst us, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Saag, Mixed entree for 2, keema naan and garlic naan, and everyone thought it was all delicious. Could not recommend this place enough!
Rayya Ali
The food was very nice and the service pleasant as well. Very polite wait staff that explained the dishes very throughly. Both dine in or takeaways offer a great food experience.

Very good. Fantastic food . Portions are very good. Had the chicken bhuna. Kheema naan. Alll 5/5. Amritsari kulfi was a bit of a let down compared t
o the mango kulfi.had a troublesome fly who kept us company. But on the whole a very good experience.
Will definitely be a revisit...........

Could not write another review hence added to the old one. Went back a week later and wow. still great food. ... definitely try the sholay kebab.. and the chicken rahra great sizzler.. stuffed kheema naans..and the kulfi..... btw the fly was there again!

Had our Christmas Team lunch at Raja's today and was totally impressed with a number of aspects. The place is very clean and comfortable, the welcome was friendly and enthusiastic. We had 16 for lunch and the service was brilliant. TJ was a great host and the service manager who waited our table was outstanding with his menu knowledge and ability to take all our orders and remember everything without writing it down - most impressive. The meals were delicious - I highly recommend the Chicken Sag. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit and will be back again.

Very tasty indian food. Always enjoy eating here, sometimes we eat too much. Nice small place and usually not too busy. Not sure why. Pleasant atmosphere.

Monday to Wednesday they offer a 2nd dish for half price. Bonus!

I been to Rajas restaurant earlier on this year for dinner with family. I had the lamb madras curry - medium which was was delicious and I really enjoyed. The poppadoms as well as the rotis and naan breads we had were also really good. For dessert we had ordered the mango kulfi and the amritsari kulfi which were also good, especially the amritasari one. the staff were attentive and friendly and the seating/interior was very nice and relaxed atmosphere. Really enjoyed it here and would def eat here again.

We only had takeaway but it was the best lamb korma ever, BC might be a bit rich for the average punter, seems like a classy establishment with friendly staff.

A1 dining experi3nce. We were dressed very casually and turned up announced- but still made to feel welcome. Very helpful and friendly. The food was next level delicious. I recommend Raja.s to everyone. See you next time guys...thanks for an excellent meal.

Love love love Raja's. Have eaten in a couple of times, sevice was fab. I also get delivery, always fast, food still hot, and always a smile. By far one of the best Indian restaurants in Auckland.
Waldo Van Paddenburg
We moved back from the Netherlands late last year and realised the best Indian cuisine is in this part of the world. If you haven't been to Raja's you're missing out! We're a regular now for almost a year, having takeaways at least twice a week, we're hooked! Some of our fav's include butter chicken, lamb saag, samosa's and chicken tikka...luv it!
Tejinder Chahal
Delicious Naan bread, awesome service by TJ. Lemon lime bitter was really lemony with kick of spices inside loved it :)

Peshawar naan was Soo good.

Been there a couple of times and it's been great.

Will be going back with my family
Josephine
Best place to go to in East Auckland. We love the food, especially the vegetarian platter for two and the paneer dishes. Our daughter isnt a big fan of Indian food but is very happy with the naan bread and papadums. The owner is amazing and makes you feel very welcome. Also for kids they have some pencils and paper but sometimes they forget about this, just ask. Regularly going here with family or friends and always very satisfied.

Most disgusting dish I ever eat.....we ordered kdai paneer and it was not properly cooked...even the salt was missing and the paneer was so hard and it was unable to eat .....I will not recomend this restrau to anybody....we waste our money.Vibhu Malhotra

Been to Raja's a few times and never got disappointed.
This place knows how to roll the dice when it comes to Indian fine fair. The Balti Chicken and Amritsari chicken are outstanding and so are all of their vegetarian dishes.
The service is a great match too. There can be minor delays but that's totally understandable when everything is made fresh and to the order. The staff are always trying to make sure that we are looked after.
Highly recommend Indian restaurant in the town.

Ok so having read all the great reviews about Rajas I was very keen to try them out I took my time getting around to it and ended up getting takeaways on Father's Day. $22 a meal was fine with me as long as it was a good food unfortunately it turned out it wasn't good food was terrible food we let one of the dishes get cold and attempted to reheat it later to see it just thickened up and came out the same shape as the dish! what does that say there using thickeners instead of cream? I'm not sure but I will never go back there again. We had chicken tikka masala with garlic naan and prawn masala I am told that chicken tikka masala is the dish to order if you want to see how good a place is well I can tell you this place is not good. I see manager has responded I'm confused as to why there would be cashew nuts in the sauce I've never seen cashew nut used in a chicken tikka masala myself....
Jared Young
Fantastic! Best curries, staff always very friendly and small wait times even when they're busy. My go to indian restaurant. Naan is also very nice.
Sabrina Eagleton
Really amazing food and service! Would recommend to anyone, the service was amazing, such chatty and lovely service! The food was quick but very lovely, full of flavour and very filling

We went to Raja's last night for my birthday. Our waiter TJ was super friendly and provided great service throughout the night. I orderd the Tandoori Chicken, Lamb Saag and a Chilli Cheese Naan. The food was fantastic with great flavour and texture. It was a great experience and i highly recommend Raja's and will be back for sure

We tried to find a restaurant in botany down yesterday. Surprisingly this Indian restaurant jumped out with a so high rate 4.2. We decided to give it a try and so glad we weren't be disappointed. The handi lamb is full of flavor, and platter is definitely a bonus
Will come back with friends soon to try other dishes
Neelam Chandra
Quite a small Indian restaurant I'm use to but super cosy and the chandeliers make it look fancy and elegant.
For starters we ordered the mixed platter for two. The aloo tikki had the perfect amount of spice and was absolutely delicious. The chicken tikka was another fave as it was tender and sooo jam packed with flavour. The lamb seekh kebabs and onion bhaji however were average in my opinion.

For mains we ordered butter chicken (medium) and handi lamb (medium-hot) with some garlic and cheese naans ofcourse. Both of the curries were exceptionally good and the meat in both was cooked to perfection. The garlic and cheese naans were also served hot and was packed with lots of garlic which I loove! I could honestly eat that alone 😂

The service here is okay, could have been abit more attentive but other than I was real pleased with the quality of the food.

Will definitely be back
Manish Nanda
I was very surprised to see 4.2 rating and thought to give it a go on 8th August. I must say that I was blown away by the quality and taste of the food. I ordered a Kadai Paneer and Paneer butter masala and it was something that I never tried anywhere in New Zealand before. Pricing was great as we got a deal of order one curry and second curry half price. I wish you had a branch in Hamilton as well because we are moving down there next month. I am gonna miss the taste there but will come back to your restaurant every time I will visit Auckland.

Great service and awesome food. Veggie Manchurian was the best dish ordered, right amount of spice and full of flavor. Paneer tikka and paneer kadai were on point as well.

Fish Amritsari is not worth it frankly and Lachcha paranta could be better.

Special mention for awesome service we received. Its always nice to be greeted with a smile and have that vibe throughout your stay.

I would definitely visit again after I finish visiting many other eateries in Auckland :)

I was very surprised to find this Indian restaurant out east is rated as one of the best Indian restaurants in Auckland. I had to try it out and it did not disappoint!

We ordered takeaway samosa's, mild lamb saag and medium chicken karahi. Both dishes tasted really good, had a nice level of spice and were not too oily.

We could order online and got 10% off for picking up which was a real bonus. The food was ready when we arrived and the two staff behind the counter were really friendly.

Keep up the excellent work!
Mojo Jade
The maitre'D has exceptionally high standards, e.g. if the naan bread is not piping hot he will tell the chefs to recook it! The curries are all exceptional and thick (thickened with cashews, not cream/sugar).
Padmaja.sanganagari
One of the best places for Indian food. Tandoori stuffed capsicum was really very delicious, both the vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes were good, ambient is also good, perfect place for a family dinner.
Sandie D'Mello
Nine of us had nine different dishes and they were all perfectly balanced and delicious. It's the closest to authentic Indian cuisine I've had in a long time. The lamb korma, methi chicken, chicken tikka highly recommended. Service was the best too! This is going to be our favourite haunt.
Kiran Sumo
Not the kind of person to write reviews. After a friend's recommendation, visited this restaurant from other end of town for lunch, Certainly worth the distance.

Service, flavours and presentation are all perfect. Certainly one of the few top tasting Indian restaurants in town. Spinach chicken, Chicken 65 and Rahra are our favourites. Nan breads are precisely how we wanted. Will return and try other dishes.

Thank you to the wonderful chefs and staff at Raja's. We just ate there tonight and it was the best indian food i have enjoyed for a long time. I got to spend four amazing months in india and have to say that their food took me back to india in my first mouthful, entree's devine and the mains were kept to the same very high standard. Topped with fantastic service.
We have just found you but we will most definately be back and will share with our friends and family.

Went here last night to celebrate my birthday with my family. Am not disappointed, the food, the ambiance and hospitality is superb. My whole family really enjoyed it.
Especial thanks to Tamana who looked after us. She is a lovely lady, with a great smile.
We will be back soon. â€ïžđŸ‘

I have been to Raja's MANY times and it has been consistently amazing, the meats are tender and each sauce is different, with an authentic cooking style.
I would recommend this place to anyone even if they hated Indian food.
Great job guys keep the great food and atmosphere up.

This place is our go to Friday dinner restaurant .. we know we will get most amazing food and great service here. Delicious food from a great selection of dishes. Each dish was flavourful and wonderfully cooked. Butter chicken is must try ... No doubt they have best butter chicken in New Zealand.

I wanted to have something which is spicy & Indian after reading through many reviews on Zomato I decided that I would go for the chicken 65. I did a take away since it was my first time and was not sure whether i wanted to try anything else. The dish was given to me at a 10% discount which made me even more happy. The dish was though being a starter dish had a very thick sauce & that's what made my day. It was spicy & reminded me of India & hatsoff to the chef for making it more then perfect! I can't wait for trying the rest of dishes & visiting it soon. Suggestion for dishes are welcome.

Best place for the indian food been there many times. The best food with the best service, presentation and the best environment never been disappointed.

Excellent food. Staff was very friendly! We ordered chicken jalfrazze and lamb saagwala! Absolutely amazing food! Portion was excellent too! We were really food in the end! Will definitely come back later!

This is my favorite place for Indian in Easter Akl, very flavorsome food, all from scratch and a great choice of lunch menus with naan included very well priced.

We had the usual butter chicken, Korma, samosas and other curry, service was really good and the food delicious

We visited Raja's on Saturday night and were immediately made to feel welcome. When ordering our food we were offered help in deciding as well as if we had any questions on any of the dishes. Once we ordered and had our food delivered to the table we were very happy. The food was delicious and arrived promptly. Unfortunately we were not seen to again. I wanted to ask for the uneaten food to be boxed up for me to take away as well as wanting to order dessert but we could not get the attention of any of the waiting staff as the restaurant had become busier. In the end we went to the bar to ask to pay the bill, even then we had to wait a while. We have visited a few times for a sit in meal and every time it was fantastic, we also use Raja's for our take out. I hope this was a one off and I look forward to our next meal but felt rather let down by our latest visit.

I am still rolling my eyes up and moaning -- not going to explain any further the taste of the food ,because can't explain that taste in words. when you have it, you know it. Speechless. Real Awesome. This is the taste I will never forget in my life. We did not feel like trying any dessert because the service from staff was really sweet. The owner himself is down to earth and was serving like that we have been invited to his place for dinner. GOD bless you guys

Really enjoyed this place. On a Tuesday night, away from the little one for the night we decided to indulge in a curry. Food was great, service was even better! The quantity was fulling - so good! I went ahead and got a Chicken Balti, came with a thick sauce. That was beautiful!!!! My partner got a Mango Chicken (I hate apricot chicken, so I thought I wouldn't like Mango) This was delicious, very creamy and not too much Mango. Our server was kind, thoughtful and asked us how our food was occasionally. All good/GREAT comments here. Just compared to an Indian restaurant in Ellerslie that we waited about 1 &1/2 hours for. Rajas will be our go to, even though its a little out of way! Thank You!

We had a really lovely dinner at Raja's last night. We went there based on all the reviews we had read about the restaurant online and it certainly did not disappoint! We'd be more than happy to recommend this restaurant. The restaurant was clean & well presented. The service was fast and good and the food was excellent! We ordered Mixed Platter for Entrée, Lamb Jane Bahar and Chicken Rahra (which comes on a sizzler hotplate) as mains and some Cheese Garlic Naan and Amritsari Kulcha Bread. There was also complimentary rice which comes with the mains. All the dishes and the breads were very delicious and the quantities were good too. Being a week day, there was also a half price discount on the 2nd main ordered! We spent $82 in all for 3 people which also included a drink each! Definitely great value for money and we definitely look forward to going back again!

My husband and I have travelled the world and always try to take in a local Thai and/or Indian restaurant while away, as they are two of our favourite cuisines. We are currently staying in the Botany area and decided to try Raja's and walked in without making a booking (it was a Wednesday night). The restaurant was tastefully decorated and had a relaxed feel to it from the moment we entered the door. The staff were very pleasant and friendly (one of the important parts of a great dining experience in my opinion). I'm always the boring one who orders butter chicken, but that's always my favourite dish at Indian restaurants. I also prefer mild dishes. My husband is the opposite and likes his dishes HOT. He ordered the Lamb Rogan. The garlic naan was absolutely delicious. The butter chicken I had was one of the best butter chicken dishes I've ever had in my life. You could tell the quality of the meat they used, was top class. The flavour and taste of their butter chicken was also top class. My husband also commented that his Lamb Rogan was one of the better dishes he's ever had at an Indian restaurant. He mentioned that the curry gave him a bit of a head spin (which is a good sign in his book!) Usually when he asks for hot, it never comes to him hot enough. The overall experience of our dinner was exceptional .... the staff, service, quality of food and cost. We went on a night when they offered buy one meal and get the other half price. Very good value. Plenty of parking also. Can't say anything negative about this place. We are planning to take my parents here for them to experience in a few more weeks. Well done Raja's! Keep up the good work. :-)

I've been to several places but I feel that this is the best Indian restaurant in Auckland. I've tried most of their dishes and I seriously can't find any negatives to say about except the price maybe which I think is okay. A very satisfactory meal each and every time I make a visit.

A group of 10 of us visited here on our most recent trip to NZ. HANDS DOWN this is the BEST Indian food I have EVER eaten. The service was fantastic, the menu delicious and the food was Fantastic! My favourites were the chicken pakoras (YUM!) and at the Chicken Saag and Balti Chicken (we shared all our dishes). I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Will definitely be back on our next trip in a few weeks!!! Price wise - we ALL had entrees, mains, naans and drinks and it cost us around $25-30 each, and that was with left overs. Thanks you Rajas!

excellent food and fast friendly service. Nice surroundings, very clean and good temperature. prices were not too high, very good value, highly recommend.

Service was excellent, restaurant was very clean good a/c but not too cold.
Waiter helped us order a meal that was yummy and made suggestions on any dish we were interested in so we could make the right choice for us. All round very nice, we have been there before & food is top rate, tasty & constant good quality .
You should really go, they will make any dish really mild or very hot , just to your own taste. Everything is made fresh when you order.
Jyothi Madanlal Chhabria
Amazingly delicious Indian food. Went there to treat friends and we were not disappointed. The ambience is good and does not give you the feeling of going to an Indian takeaway place. All the dishes that we ordered were delicious. Highly recommend the Chicken 65 - which though came slightly differently on the repeat order, was still finger licking good.

Best Indian food in Auckland!! This place is amazing. The service right when you walk in the door is perfection right until you leave. The food is the best Indian I have ever had. We had the shared entree dish and two main curries with rice, roti and naan. Best Naan I have ever had too. Thin and crispy not thick and gluggy like most places. We thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary here and will definitely be back. Very well priced too. Everything was perfect. Thank you!!!!

Great food and decently sized portions. 10 of us came over to Raja's a few nights ago for dinner, enjoyed a lovely meal with entrees, 8-9 mains and multiple drinks and paid roughly $25-30 each. Highly recommend to all

Food was very nice. Service was a bit slow but overall a very good experience. Would definitely come here again. Waiters were all very nice and had a positive attitude and served us in a very humble way. would definitely recommend going here

Have ate at this restaurant before, but last night chose to eat here instead of driving out to Bucklands Beach as it was the closest restaurant to us. Didn't check the time the restaurant closes but arrived late when the kitchen was about to close. The Manager was very welcoming and explained to us that the kitchen was about to close that we were a wee bit late. But instead of us (5 people) having to leave he checked with his kitchen staff and asked us to be seated, that was very generous of them as it was closing time and 5 people had just showed up for dinner (would definitely book in advance next time).

We placed our order (x2 Butter Chicken, x1 Balti Chicken, x1 Karahi Paneer, x1 Plain Naan and x6 Butter Naan). Our order was cooked extremely fast with no spice left behind. The taste was amazing as always. We all agreed the food was extremely satisfying and we weren't disappointed.

A++ for Service
A++ for Food

Highly recommended

The best Indian Food that I have had in NZ! The owner was amazingly friendly and made sure we were well informed about the food we were about to order.. excellent experience! Thumbs up!! Keep the good work up

Good tasting food. Everything was freshly made. Butter chicken was divine and authentic and supposedly best in auckland. Prawn madras was perfect. Lamb Ragan Josh was well prepared and top rated. Biryani seemed little stale. Better than most indian restaurants I have visited so far.
Jing Seth
Wonderful authentic food. Service was extremely polite, attentive and hands down the best we've had. Extremely informative and helpful. Mango lassi a must have!

Been there twice... authentic vegetarian food. Loved veg angoori & malai kofta. Great service, value for money. I m sure i m gonna visit more often 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Highly recommend this restaurant. Very good and friendly service and the food was first rate.Onion Bajis were amazing as were all mains - chicken korma, chefs special and butter chicken were all a hit.
Virginia Pettigrew
The most enjoyable Tandori chicken EVER! Currently sipping on the most delicious Mango Lasi, not wanting it to end.
Best Indian restaurant I have had takeaway from. The staff are super friendly, and the food is AMAZING!!
As a true connoisseur of Indian food, I can honestly say this is one of my favourite indian joints. All the curries and naan breads I've ordered here have been top notch in terms of flavour, consistency and aroma. The restaurant has a spacious and moody atmosphere, which only enhances whole dining experience. The service provided by the owner is outstanding each and every time. Come here and try something different from the usual butter chicken and chicken korma, and you may be pleasantly surprised. Thank me later. 4.5/5 stars

Hi

We visited your restaurant last night and wanted to use Restaurant association voucher but it was declined due to insufficient equipment for scanning, we were told. We have checked with the Association and your restaurant is listed as a member. The Association is also mentioned on your website. We really enjoyed our dinner and would like to come back. Could you please confirm we'll be able to use the voucher this time and if not why it's not awarded at your restaurant? thanks

Excellent Indian cuisine with generous servings, and wonderful customer service. Big table booked and all food came out in good time. We had the tandoori chicken, which was exquisite, the samosas and the lamb Sikh kebab, also exquisite, for entrees. Then a selection of curries, of which the chicken tikka masala was a definite star. The naan bread is fresh and soft, and the prawn biryani rice will definitely be repeated. All steamed rice and poppadoms were complementary and overall the food experience was one to appreciate and savor. A little local gem in the heart of botany downs, in Auckland.
Athena
Travelled all the way to botany to visit this place. I would definately recommend booking as it was busy. We ordered the vindaloo and biryani, service was really great as was the food! Decent quantities and reasonably priced.

Fantastic food - we had takeaways from Raja's and it was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the ambiance seemed okay despite our short time inside. Worth a stop if you're in the area.

I'm a simple man; I like good curry, and I like friendly service. I had plenty of both at Raja's.
I live out West, so my fiance and I now make a point to eat here whenever we travel Eastward.

The density of the curries is quite different to standard curry restaurants, Raja's are more thick than thin, which makes them easier to eat with Naan breads.
I'm not wise enough to explain what exactly makes the curries here stand above others, but they simply do. It must be a combination of the essential ingredients with a secret or two here and there, because Raja's is delicious with it's own unique touch.

The service is very personable, and the lunch menus offer great value.
Look forward to coming back soon.
Raz Raslan
Fantastic service. Excellent food. Great atmosphere, we will definitely be coming back to this hidden gem!

We were particularly impressed with the service from the waiting staff who genuinely wanted us to have a great dining experience and we absolutely did!

Recently visited Raja's Indian Restaurant with mixed expectations. Had seen great reviews but never heard anything by word of mouth.

Setup:
Plenty of parking, have their own garage below which could fit upto 50 cars. Overall look of the restaurant is nice. Has a great ambience with decor and smart lighting fixtures. Tables are well spread with great space between tables. Overall, restaurant looks clean and has a nice atmosphere.

Entrees:
*Seekh Kebabs
*Shami Kebabs
*Chicken 65
Unfortunately, Entrees were a slight let down for us. The Seekh Kebabs looked great, however lacked seasoning. The were cooked well but flavorless. Shami Kebabs seemed like they may have been out of a frozen packet of some sort, seemed processed and lacked flavour. Chicken 65 was the standout dish of the entrees. Unlike your regular dry chicken 65, this dish was more like a curry but not a curry if you know what I mean. The chicken was coated in a semi crunchy batter and then topped with a rustic onion sauce. This dish was mix of sweet and spicy. It was a unique dish and went down well with the entire family.

Mains:
*Goan Fish Curry
*Chicken Balti
*Chicken Rahra
*Chicken Karahi
Following the entrees, my expectations were fading dramatically. However, this quickly changed as the mains arrived at the table. The mains arrived at the table with a fantastic aroma. I'll start with the chicken rahra, it came out on a sizzling platter and smelt fantastic, only to taste even better. Chicken Karahi is a staple curry in Indian cuisine and Raja's have done it justice. The final two dishes were the chicken balti and Goan fish curry, plenty of question marks around these two. The chicken balti arrived in a tandoor type serving cup and was filled with plenty of chicken and onions. Tasted superb and went well with rice. Finally, the Goan fish curry. The selection of this dish was widely disputed around the table and the chances of getting it weren't good. However, I managed to convince the table and thank the Lord, it was the best decision we had ever made. What a fantastic dish. Good portions of fish and the curry had superb flavours throughout. By far the best dish of the night.

Service:
We were greeted and served by a lovely man named Vikram. Fantastic service through and was very attentive.

Price:
Slightly on the steep side of prices, especially for entrees.

Overall:
After being let down by the entrees we were surprised by the quality of the mains. Could have got a perfect 5.0, let down by lacklustre entrees. The restaurant has a nice ambience and there is plenty of parking. Service is good but the food is slightly pricey. Would definitely visit again.

Unfortunately, did not take any photos to aid my review. Will keep it in mind for next time.
Aabhas Dole
A typical Indian restaurant where you get all the naan's, curries and usual starters.

We ordered some pakodas, honey cauliflower, fish tikka and onion bhajis as starters followed by palak paneer, goan curry and a chicken fried rice.

The dishes were tasty and decently priced. We received good service from the staff members and I'll recommend this place for sure.

After seen good reviews here , couldn't stop my self to visit this place for dinner
1> First of all we waited for 2 hours to meal arrive and food wasn't good as in quality ( 3 of us got sick next day and couldn't go to work
2> Not a place for more than 6 people so don't go there if you are more than that because we were 10 and table was so small and conjusted when i asked to manager add one more table so we would not feel conjusted he goes this table is for 12 people (total bullshit)
3> Most annoying thing was we ordered something and hasnt been arrived at all and then we let it go
4> ordered butter paratha ane received butter naan instead
The food was amazing (4/5) and service was excellent (5/5). Would totally recommend everyone to visit this place. One of the best indian restaurant around!
Shiv Prasad
Made a booking for 21 people on a Saturday night. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, and had no issues accommodating us. Despite a full restaurant with other customers around, the service was superb and extremely quick. Our order was brought out promptly and the quality of food was of the highest standard. Despite initially being sceptical about their ability to cope with a large group, I've walked away being thoroughly impressed and would have little hesitation in saying Raja's would easily be one of the best Indian restaurants in Auckland.
STRADS
On a Sunday, my friends & I had our first visit at Raja for early dinner, hoping that its high rating wouldn't disappoint us. We had the Christchurch Monsoon beer which was seldom available in restaurant. Complimentary poppadoms, folded in triangles, were quite salty. We had chicken Madras, Balti chicken, lamb Rahra & beef Vindaloo with plain naan & garlic naan. Both chickens were very nice; lamb came on hot plate & was rich in spice; beef was too sour to "our" liking! (Was that our wrong choice?) (Food - 3.5/5; Service - 3/5; Ambience - 4/5)

Fantastic food, if you really want to eat authentic Indian food, this is the place to go.
Beautiful ambiance, excellent customer service, very friendly staff.

Always drive by this place hence decided to give this place a try. Very delicious food. Excellent service. Manager on duty Vikram was very friendly.
I would say one of the best Indian foods in town
Albert
Very nice food. Probably is the best Indian food I have ever had in Auckland. More expensive than the other Indian restaurants but worth it. The service is also good. My boy is naughty and dropped a little bit curry on the carpet. We felt embarrassed but the waiter said it is not a problem and they will clean it.Recommended.
Prasuna Yenugula
We simply love the food here. The butter Naan were freshly made and not stretchy the subzis were fresh and superb. Will definitely come back can give 5 stars for food and customer service as well

What a lovely restaurant, delicious food and fantastic staff, each and every one. We had the Chicken Pakoras as a shared entree, they were really good! The mains included the Butter Chicken (of course :) ) the Chicken Balti , Prawns Kesri Masala and Veg Angoor. It was hard to chose a favourite, they were all great, plenty of meat and very thick sauces, our eyes were bigger than our bellies but it was hard to stop eating! The desserts were extremely good value for money and sounded very nice but we had had more than enough to eat by that stage. We were not rushed and the timing was perfect. Well done guys, you all seem so passionate about your restaurant and it shows in your food and service, we will be back Im sure. Thanks so much

A real find thanks to someone's recommendation. Tonight we tried the takeaway option - easy to order online and ready when I arrived to collect - very pleasant, genuine & helpful staff.
Food was AMAZING!!! Chicken sag was a real delight and the lamb bhuna was so flavorsome - so much better in quality & taste than all of the $10 deals we have tried. Will definitely be back and look forward to also trying the restaurant very soon.

We came to know about this restaurant from our family friend who highly recommended it.Thought of giving it a try and it was worth it,even though the dishes are priced bit more but I think it's worth it.We do takeaways or dine in there every week now and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Great atmosphere and service. Lovely manager and the chef's are amazing too. Would recommend - you can expect delicious Indian cuisine with great deals each day of the week too. Thanks Raja's, we will be back!

We ordered our dinner as takeaways. We got the Chicken manchurian, Chicken chow mein and Vegetarian fried rice. They took about 30 mins to bring the takeaway out & then got the order wrong & took another 20 mins to get out the correct order. However, they apologized sincerely & gave us free poppadums. The guy who apologized had a bad cough, whoever you are, hope you feel better soon. :O)

The chow mein was to die for. It was that delicious. But, the chicken manchurian was really sour & I won't be ordering that anymore. The vegetarian fried rice tasted okay but it had too much soy sauce (or dark sauce).

Was looking for a good Indian restaurant and found some good reviews for this place, decided to come dine here as my brother really enjoys Indian cuisine.

Very impressed with how well laid out the restaurant is, you feel like you're dining well away from Auckland! Clean modern facilities. Staff are friendly and attentive, really enjoyed dining here! We can shortly after 2.15pm but they still welcomed us in!

The food, came out all together and we pretty much devoured our meals, ordering more naan to share as well hehe.
We ordered the butter chicken, mango chicken, and butter prawns along with rice, naan, and mango lassis.

Generous meat servings of each, the butter chicken/ prawns was good, tomatoey buttery goodness! My mango chicken was good too.

Highly recommend and I definitely know where to come back for our cravings â˜ș

This place is really awesome!!! Food is fab and great service. It was all clean. The interior makes me remind of India. It has all Indian feel. Staff is helpful and quick. Would love to celebrate any occassion here.

Thanks for the lovely food. If anyone spending their weekend in Botany mall with kids this is the one place where we can both drink and dinner.

Loved the wonderful flavours but I recon quantity are really less not happy with that .... We ordered malai kofta which got only 4 kofta .. I don't think someone would like to pay 16.90 for 4 pcs.
Ravinder Kaur Kailey
the place is very quiet and beautifully decorated. the quality of food is superior and have excellent cook. the customer service also good. i like to visit raja's indian restaurant for dinner. thank you for serving us great dishes.

Excellent friendly service. Food is delicious (perhaps a bit too much gingerâ˜ș) and delivery reliable and within the quoted estimated time. Thank you PJ👍

Once arrived immediately got amazing service and seated very prompt. All tables were very clean. Waited 15-20min, a little bit longer than some indian restraunts but the wait was totally worth it and knew it was cooked fresh when i ordered. Staff were extremely friendly food was amazing. I will definitely be going back there soon.
The manager was kamaljeet singh, he was very polite and made sure we enjoyed our meal. Reccomend him for future visits.

Have driven past this place several times and finally gave it a try tonight. What an experience. Food was amazing, full of flavour, presented great and friendly service as well. The stuffed capsicum entree was simply delicious. Will definitely be back again!

Went here on a Wednesday night, place was pretty quiet. But it's really easy to find and the restaurant itself is really nice inside.
Our waiter was really friendly and attentive and we received our food reasonably quick.
Ordered paneer pakora as an entree and mango chicken and balti chicken with naan.
The pakora was nice and crunchy on the outside, the mango chicken was slightly sweet and the balti chicken was sooo good - I've never tasted a curry like it before (minus the big pieces of onion in it).
We were surprised when we walked into Raja's. The interior is bright and beautifully decorated, it feels as if you are dining outside of the botany area. We had the tandoori chicken, garlic&cheese naan, butter chicken and prawn masarla. Generous servings, we left feeling very full. The waiters are very polite. We are definitely going to make raja's our local indian restaurant from now on.

We went to Raja's for a special lunch yesterday. After reading the very positive reviews online we decided to go there. The ambience was very bright and peaceful. The staff were extremely helpful in recommending dishes and suggesting combinations. The service was great as food arrived without much wait. We ordered Chicken Rara, chicken Amritsari and a mild butter chicken for our children. All dishes tasted exquisite and one could savour the flavours of each spice in every bite. I will be recommending this place to all my friends for outstanding Indian flavours.

I've eaten here around 5 or 6 times. The service is better than most. The food is great. The ambience is the best of just about any Indian restaurant that I've been to in Auckland (I've been to many). This is a very clean, comfortable and relaxing place. I've also been very happy with the wines on each occasion.
Rajan Oberoi
Although there are many Indian restaurants in Auckland including some good ones but I like Raja's restaurant a lot especially for the special occasions. We have celebrated a lot of functions here at Raja's and everytime they had made our special occasion more special. This time ,we went there for a birthday bash and am very happy to say that the food and service quality that Raja's had offered was upto great standards. The atmosphere here is very decent and attractive. The waiters are always friendly and have a nice smile (especially the tall guy who works at the front staff, am not sure about the name).Seems like a really good working place. The food is traditional Indian and always impresses the tastebuds. The naan bread taste superb too. It's fun to go there. Highly recommended restaurant.
Fabulous food, service a little slow but then they did have a party of over 25 at the same time as us, recommend to anyone who really enjoys authentic Indian food
Colleen East
We really impressed with our visit to this restaurant. The décor is modern attractive and very pleasant. Nice ambience too. waitress Jus was knowledgeable, friendly polite and very helpful. Food was delicious Particularly enjoyed the entrée Chicken Tikka, mains of Chicken Methi and Lamb Tak a Tak were beautifully cooked generous in size and authentic in flavour. We shall definitely return

Great food
Great customer service
Love there paneer tikka masala one of the best till now
I would like to recommend to the people who love Indian food go try at Raja's Indian. 😊
Aseem
Customer service was on point. Staff greeted us and made sure to check up every now and then to make sure everything was OK. Food arrived within a reasonable timeframe shortly after ordering. The restaurant was quite empty (we went in earlier in the evening) so you could say the extra attention and frequent checkups were expected.

On the grand scale of Indian cuisine, the food was average. We ordered a Butter Chicken and Balti Chicken, both of which arrived in slightly smaller-than-usual serving bowls (i.e. the portions could have been slightly larger, but then again I love to eat!). Both mains had a slight bitter taste that detracted from the Indian spices and ultimately dissuaded me from finishing the gravy. Mango lassi was full of flavour but lacked that refreshing touch because it wasn't cold enough for the ambient summer temperature. Garlic and cheese naan bread, rice and Chicken Pakoras were all more than satisfactory.

Parking was plentiful underground and finding the place wasn't too bad (just up from Paradice Skating Arena). Price was pretty standard for Indian (~$15/main). I have to add that the menu was extensive, offering ~10 options for each of Vegetarian, Beef/Lamb, Chicken and Seafood mains and many sides, drinks and desserts.

Overall, customer service was stellar, but the two mains selected were just not satisfactory. As the menu was large, I am inclined to give Raja's another go, next time trying a different set of mains.

I was at Raja's today for lunch -16.01.16.
I have to say the ambiance was great (as always) The service by Jas (staff) is excellent (as always). She is polite, courteous and friendly. The food is to die for! The chef's here are brilliant. If you ever want good authentic Indian food, this place is like no other.
Also, I have to mention that the owner -T.J is a lovely person...very down to earth, humble and polite. The food is high quality, yet reasonably priced.....What more can I say?
U have to try it out to believe me!!!

I mostly went Raja's for take aways and dine in but this time i had horrible experience with food.I ordered paneer tikka masala balti chicken and butter paneer... Butter paneer was good but rest of two curries were tasteless... Not even proper salt in it... 😞
Rajas is an Indian restaurant to be loved by all. Being a 3 minute walk away from home, I find myself and my fiance regularly there, and even so, each time we find ourselves equally delighted and pleased by the delicious taste of Rajas. We have now tried almost every item on the menu - none will disappoint. The ingredients, presentation and service are all perfect quality at a price that will leave you feeling only even more satisfied.
I not only highly recommend Rajas but would feel sad for those who are still eating mediocre Indian takeaways full of factory-made gravy and few pieces of meat. Please, I implore you, do try it.

Had dinner here last night and all I can say is it was amazing, the food is fantastic! Jaspreet our waitress was very professional and friendly and made the experience that much better. We will definitely be back! Thanks

Went out for a big family dinner. Staff was friendly and made great recommendations, we had the lamb vindaloo, butter chicken, aloo ghobi and prawn malabari which were very flavourful. Order the dishes spicy!

We normally go there for Friday lunches. Good quality food and good ambience. Average customer service. Excellent value for money specially if you order lunch deals.

Food was nice but disappointed with the service as our ticket was somehow missed amongst the other two tickets that the restaurant had. Restaurant filled up quickly while we were there so must be popular in the area

These guys are giving true hospitality that adds cherry on their delicious food products. Highly Recommended from my Side.

Came here for dinner tonight, based on the reviews on Zomato and decided to check it out. We had been looking for a good Indian restaurant that serves quality food and we found it here at Raja Botany. Our large group ordered a range of Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala, Lamb Chefs special, Balti Chicken and Panner Tikka Masala. We all enjoyed our dishes, fresh ingredients, well cooked and well spiced- great with the Naan Bread. It is a modern restaurant with cultural accents. Bathroom very clean as well. Thank You to the two who were working today, especially the girl who was very helpful and friendly. Much appreciated. Keep it up!
-Mellissa

Nice environment, friendly staff. Love balti chicken and lamb tai-t-tai(not sure abt the spelling). One thing I wasn't like is that naans are not freshly made. They're not even warm...

One of the best indian restaurants in Auckland. We ordered 3 veg dishes. The Veg angori , Dal Makhani and Paneer tikka masala were really mouth watering. We really thought that we were sitting in a restaurant in India. Could not believe the taste as it was 100% same to food you get in an restaurant in India. The Naan and roti were excellent. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Always had a smile on there face. Would definitely recommend and visit this restaurant again...

Without a doubt these guys have brought Indian cuisine back for me after personally being dissatisfied with the quality of local restaurants more than a decade ago. Before Raja's I had completely replaced Indian with Thai for the reliable weekday takeout or low-key dine in meal . Owner TJ & his chefs have lured me back with their consistently great tasting food. I take out usually once a week, dine in pretty regularly, & depend on them for larger group orders now too. I would highly recommend any one in the area to look them up!!
(try the mixed meat/fish/prawn entree (for 2) slow cooked in the tandoori oven)
Andy

First i will talk about the service, whenever you go to any restaurant you expect nice meal with good sevice. Since i been here we been to many restaurants but most of them have good food but they are so slow in delivering, this restaurant is the first one with excellent staff, fast service and golden spoon is they have #fantabulastic food.
Loved it. Would recommend to everyone. Keep up guys đŸ‘đŸŒ
😉 and staff member 😇

Have been coming to this restaurant for over a year now. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is attentive and friendly. Recently started using their delivery service, so when you don't feel like getting out of the house in this nasty weather it's great to have their mouthwatering curries delivered to your home, and free delivery too! Keep up great work, Raja's!

Its a very authentic Indian Restaurant. I went there with my family for a dinner after googling for a restaurant and we enjoyed our dinner thoroughly. Customer Service is top, every food items we had were very tasty and priced reasonably. We we recommend this place without any hesitation to anyone who like to taste Indian food in Auckland. Well worth our drive there from west Auckland on a rainy evening.

This is absolutely one of the best Indian food in town. Love the cozy atmosphere here. T he staff here were very polite and helpful, I ordered paneer masala for main which totally lived up to my love for Indian food. Also, strongly recommend their mango lassi, very smooth yoghurt base with mango pulp. I'm confident that I can inhale at least three glasses just two myself. Their kulfi is also worth a try. All in all don't miss out on this cozy restaurant if you are in the mood for some high quality while cost efficient Indian cuisine.

I tried this restaurant through a Tomato Meet Up which I was lucky enough to be a part of. We tried a range of food including the Lamb Tak-a-Tak, Balti chicken, Prawns Reshmi Masala, Vege Angoori and a range of naan bread. The highlight for me was definitely the Balti chicken. It had a distinct smokey flavour to it and had thick juicy chunks of chicken. Also make note of the very friendly staff.

The menu was rather extensive. Definitely has something to suit everyone. Very likely that I will come back and try some other dishes! Well Done Rajas!
Joanne Chiang
Decided to give this place a try. We asked the waitress what dishes were popular and she recommended us the chicken balti and beef rahra. The chicken balti was amazing! Really really good and the beef rahra was interesting, but good interesting, the only thing i didnt like about the rahra was that i got sicken after a few bites because it is a sweeter dish and i am a big savor girl. We also got the prawn for a starter and that was also delicious! Overall dining experience was really good. My boyfriend and i Doodled on the paper while waiting for food. I will definitely come back to try other dishes

Best curry in SE Auckland! I have been away for a year and returned to find a number of local Indian restaurants have changed hands, this one remains delicious!

Exceptional service and exceptional food. The curries were flavoursome without being overpowering. Great ambiance as well. Price wise very reasonable as well. On Wednesday they do 2 for 1 mains. Would definitely recommend!!

This place was recommended by a lot of friends, I was honestly quite excited to try the food, but was sadly disappointed a little. The food was good (but not up to my expectations after so many recommendations), but I must say the Amritsari Kulfi (dessert) was sooooo good that it made up for the food. Personally I also loved the ambience. Would definitely go back!
Shweta Singh
Amazing ambiance and the service was awesome. Would definitely come again. Food was equally delicious and wait time wasn't a problem. Loved it

We found this restaurant through a Zomato meet up which we were fortunate to be invited to.
The staff are welcoming and friendly. We got to sample a number of dishes from their menu. All the dishes were nicely prepared and presented. The standout dish for me was the chicken Balti with a smokey flavour. The mango lassi was also among the best I have tried.
We will be back to try other dishes from their extensive menu.

Having driven past Raja's quite a few times this year, I finally had the opportunity to sample quite a few dishes from this fine Indian restaurant. #yayforzomatomeetups

We were welcomed by TJ, whom I thought was an incredible host. Great first impression! I was definitely in for a treat. I personally thought the contemporary delicate decor around the restaurant in combination with the dim lighting created an intimate yet comfortable atmosphere for our meal last night.

We started with the mango lassi, which was incredible. Strong mango flavour which I definitely enjoy. Then we had the privilege of tasting the Lamb Tak-a-Tak, the Balti chicken, Prawns Reshmi Masala, Vege angoori and 3 different naans. My favourite dish of the night was definitely the Prawn Masala. It is described as a chefs special coconut Reshmi Masala gravy and I thought it was spectacular. A creamy and well balanced curry.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and would definitely recommend Raja's for a decent indian meal.

Well - an invite to a zomato meetup, cannot be refused, so far, they have had the inside running on amazing little Auckland secrets.... Raja's is no exception - we started with a Mango Lassi - which I have only recently been introduced to - but is a traditional, yogurt-based drink that is popular in the heat of India.

A little welcome treat of candy-coated fennel seeds awaited us on the table - and provided discussion as we waited for our meal - apparently aids in digestion and helps with 'the breath' - but tastes like little candy liquorice.

Balti Chicken - boneless chicken cooked in tomato and onion sauce with a sprinkle of cheese
Lamb Tak-a-Tak - diced lamb cooked in onion tomato and cashew nut sauce with a touch of capsicum
Prawns Reshmi Masala - prawns cooked in a chefs special sauce of coconut reshmi masala
Veg Angoori - boiled potatoes and vegetable balls cooked in a 'secret' gravy
Garlic Naan Butter Naan Stuffed Naan....

Every dish melted in your mouth - all the sauce flavours left you wanting a little more - all completely different, all lovely and rich, but all beautifully balanced.

The restaurant was so incredibly conducive to conversation, we covered a completely crazy range of topics amongst food-loving strangers!! So that in itself is testimony to the atmosphere created.

I had become fascinated with the presence of lions, just subtly in the decor and on the menu and when I thought I had quietly photographed one TJ appeared by my side, and so it turns out that he was called Raja as a child - which translates to 'King" hence the name of the restaurant ...

We were lucky enough to be invited to a Zomato meet up last night at Raja's.

Raja's is a small, clean and comfortable restaurant, not too far away from the shopping centre. The ambience and decor of the place is pleasant, with a touch of luxury - if you're looking for a fancy and comfortable Indian meal out, you should make the effort to come here. I would be keen to come back except I'm not sure how child friendly (and by this I mean very small children) this place is - my little one is sometimes a bit messy and this place doesn't seem like the sort of restaurant that toddlers frequent!

The menu for the night included a range of curries and naans. The curries all had quite distinct tastes and textures to them. The range included the lamb tak-a-tak, balti chicken, prawns reshimi masala and veg angoori. We also tried a chef's special (not on their menu) of corn and paneer masala.

My favourites of the night were the chicken and prawn curries. The reshimi masala was beautifully creamy (and something quite different from what I'm used to having), whereas the balti chicken had a wonderful smoky flavour and juicy meat - I would have happily eaten these all on my own! I also really liked their mango lassi - not every Indian restaurant in Auckland makes a good one, but this one was delicious.

The menu has a large range and there is lots to choose from. There are even a lot of different tandoori breads, from more traditional naans, to parathas and rotis.

It's always a good sign to see that there was a steady flow of people dining here even though it was a rainy Tuesday night. Despite not living too far away, we hardly venture out to Botany for meals, but it was definitely worth checking out. I'm keen to try some of their meats roasted in their tandoori oven next time (a personal favourite of mine). We enjoyed our meal here and both were definitely left wanting to try more.

It's quite expensive but the owners are always very friendly and catering!! It's our local cause it's so close but I do think it's a bit overpriced as it isn't the best Indian I've ever had!

I went with my family for a birthday celebration and we all thoroughly enjoyed the night. The waitress was very attentive and lovely, her service was amazing. I had the handi lamb curry and it was beautifully flavoured with a generous portion. The host was friendly and made sure that we were all happy. Will definitely be back to Raja's as the meals are affordable, delicious and fulling.

Absolutely wonderful. We visited for a quick birthday meal for the first time after reading the reviews here on Zomato. I honestly cannot fault it. Great ambiance, wonderful food and attentive service. Will be back for sure. Thank you.

Went to Raja's for dinner with some friends and we all really enjoyed it. The restaurant is tucked away in a block of shops but inside its well presented and tidy. The service was very good, our waiter was knowledgable with the dishes and was able to give us some good recommendations to suit our tastebuds.

We ordered between the 4 of us the mixed platter for 2, premium meat platter for 2, chicken tikka masala, chicken jalfrezi, mango chicken and the Handi lamb plus rice and naan. They have some good deals on and we went mains were buy 1 get 1 half price. This was plenty for us share, with leftovers to take home. The food was fresh, tasty and well portioned. My favourite was the Handi lamb which is one of there speciality dishes. Would recommend to all indians food lovers!
Palak
Excellent food and service. Curries made with freshly grounded spices and without any food colour. Palak paneer was so delicious.
Customer service excellent.

I'd recommend Raja's!
Easy online booking. Immediately contacted to confirm reservation & sent txt advising One Free Corkage per main on Thursdays.
The decor was clean & tasteful with a warm and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a bitterly cold night!

We were a group of 10 which they accommodated well.
Be aware that there are two pages of entrees we accidentally initially ordered all vegetarian but the waitress quickly rectified this for us.
Food tasted delicious and was well presented.
My only negative comment was that we weren't offered dessert or coffees, it was 21:30.
I think it was well priced.
Thanks for a lovely evening.

My husband loves food in general, but he loves Indian food the most. Last night we visited Raja's because good reviews promised a lovely meal, and it was closer to home than our usual favourites.

The inside of the restaurant is well-decorated - understated and neutral, but modern and clean. It felt comfortable although it was less that quarter full when we arrived.

We began with mixed pakoras as the entree; the menu describes these as a mix of paneer, cauliflower etc "individually fried" and what we received was more like small fritters of grated vegetables, all mixed together. Different to what I had pictured, but delicious and with a standout feature - tamarind chutney that was thick enough to stick to the pakoras. I'm always hoping for that and rarely see it - bravo.

For mains, we like to go outside the box - neither of us eat chicken unless it's free range, (often this means we miss out on most of the menu) but the menu here had so many options that we'd never seen before and was very exciting. We really had trouble deciding, but finally ordered Baingan Bhartha (a roasted eggplant curry) and, with some apprehension, the Chef's Special with Lamb, though I hadn't been able to get a single hint about the ingredients or style from the waitress but she assured me I'd love it.

These arrived in good time. In the meantime I had procured a mango lassi and was thoroughly enjoying that.

We both tucked into our mains (and each other's)- husband's eggplant curry was medium and that's usually a little hot for me, but despite the heat I couldn't resist going in for a second spoonful. My lamb was tender and falling apart - without divulging any secrets by discussing the other ingredients, I think this was the best curry I've ever eaten. We often discuss which of our meals we preferred, but these were beyond excellent and we couldn't decide. The naan was wonderful as well.

I can almost never finish a full meal so we had our leftovers boxed to take away and eventually decided to share gulab jamun for dessert (for the uninitiated, these are deep-fried balls of dense, milky dough steeped in sugar syrup and served hot) - also delicious, and a great way to finish the meal.

With so many favourites to compare to, it's rare that we try a new Indian restaurant and leave with a strong inclination to come back as soon as possible; it's even rarer that we'd be tempted to come back and order the exact same meals a second time, but we are VERY tempted. upport is growing for free-range options and I'd love to see some free-range chicken on the menu in the future, but otherwise everything was perfect. The service was occasionally a bit reserved, but there's nothing at all for the waitresses to worry about - I'm sure everyone who eats here will absolutely adore it.

Went to Raja's for dinner last night. As always the food is delicious, the wait staff excellent and the price reasonable. We are so lucky to be local to such a great restaurant

Lovely restaurant had early dinner on a cold wet night, service was good (not five star) but good for a local Indian. Butter chicken was creamy and tasty and I will definitely go again.

We went to Rajas tonight for the first time tonight for my birthday. We were welcomed by TJ who was exceptionally friendly and had great customer service skills. The food was delicious and there was no shortage of meat. The decor was also lovely and the place was well presented and clean. We loved the buy one main get one half price deal that they offer on Mon-Wed. We will definitely recommend to family and friends. Great to support a local business.. We look forward to going back.

Went there to pick up some naan breads.... The friendly staff managed to change our mind to eat there that evening. The decor was done tastefully and very friendly service. Food was great too! Would surely go back again :)
Saw lots of good reviews on here so decided to give this place a go. Service was friendly and attentive (although sometimes intrusive) and the food was pretty tasty (highlight - the delicious, crispy naans, lowlight - the bland aubergine dish).

found Rajas through Zomato so decided to take my work colleagues here for a farewell dinner. We were running a little late and the manager was very understanding. Once arrived, we were greeted with a smile and we instantly felt comfortable and "at home".

The waiter was very helpful giving us suggestions on what to try and was very patient with our group. The food arrived and it is one of the best Indian curries I've tasted! The curries were so flavoursome (normally to me they all end up tasting the same) the meat and fish was so tender it just melted in your mouth, and the naan bread... I could just eat it on its own. So soft and fresh.

The customer service here is fantastic! The manager of Rajas was very friendly and it made our dinner very pleasant. Definitely would recommend to my friends and will be returning again soon!

I've been to this restaurant a fair few times now to dine in and takeaway, their food quality and service has been commendable. All of the three occasions I've been the food has definitely delivered to my expectations. The greatest thing I actually liked was that all their curries taste different, usually at Indian restaurants I often find they use the same curry base for all their meat and vegetarian dishes - with Raja's Indian restaurant I could taste that every curry was different. They also used none to possibly no cream in their curries which is what actually real Indian cuisine is like. Really like this place, it's nicely decorated and the staff are very nice asking about how meals are and bringing out drinks as required. We felt like we were treated very hospitably and they were genuinely interested n us having a good time. No rowdy or over-the-top music playing like most other places I've been to.

Was just great, had good food and good company making it a memorable experience. Highly recommend it to others that like a peaceful restaurant with good food!

Really happy we chose to stop here while out hunting Indian food. I ordered the vindaloo, white boy hot. Maybe my accent but it came out frigging hot. (Might still be Indian mild) broke the first food sweat I can remember. The manager felt very sorry for me, despite me assuring him I knew what I was doing, and went out of his way to make me more "comfortable". My partner really enjoyed her mild tikka masala, and the huge helping of naan. No problem with $50 for a nice meal in a nice set up restaurant space. (And she even has left overs.)

I been there twice Excellent service,Food was delicious and fresh.Highly recommended to all.Everyone should go there and try at least once if you are looking nice place for dinner out.

Had a really good experience here! For the entree we ordered the samosas and then got the butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and the cheesy garlic naan. All the food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and always checking up on us to make sure everything was okay. Only downside was that there was a bit of a wait between the entree and the mains. Other than that everything was great.

Has some different items on the menu from usual Indian restaurants. Decor nice and place lovely and clean. Service I found lacking a little, we had to make a real effort to attract attention on more than one occasion. Our entree and mains were served at the same time- together!
Seekh Kebabs 8 pcs and a lamb , 2 beef and a chicken dish for main. Nice enough but not startling . More expensive than our usual Indian restaurant even considering the buy 1 main get the second one half price deal. Corkage $4 a bottle.

Enjoyed a delicious dinner with my boyfriend last night at Rajas.
The service was prompt and friendly and our food came out at perfect intervals between starter and main (which is rare).
We shared a platter for 2 for starters which is a nice option when you can't choose what you want and want to try everything. The little starters and complementing sauces were delicious and at quite a decent portion.
I had a Butter Chicken (though the other menu items looked tempting, I'm quite stuck in my ways) which was the best butter chicken I've ever had, it had a great authentic taste; not very sweet and not overly salty, the chicken (lots of it) was soft and moist.
Overall a great experience, lovely decor, hearty food portions, flavoursome food and welcoming service.
Will definitely be visiting again.
I went to Raja's for dinner tonight and the entire experience was great. The service was friendly and prompt. The menu had a very wide range of curries and other dishes to pick from which all sounded good. In the entree I shared a mixed platter with my girlfriend which had some really yum little starters. I chose the Chicken Tikka Masala as my main and that was delicious. There was so much of the sauce which tasted amazing along with a decent amount of really well cooked chicken. I had a Mango Lassi to drink and that was also very nice. I can't wait to go back and try something else and even pick at the dessert menu.

I went to have lunch at Raja's on the weekend and we were feeling like Indian cuisine and wanting to try something other than our usual. This was my second time coming to Raja's and to be honest I had talked this place up to my boyfriend so much - I reckon it's one of the best places for Indian food in Auckland! My boyfriend went in with high expectations and walked out with his expectations met.

They have lunch specials from Weds - Sunday and I opted for the $15 special which included a curry + rice (I chose the chicken madras) + butter naan + a juice and my boyfriend opted for the $12 special (everything above less the drink) - he chose butter chicken. It is very good value for money.

The food came out in good time and was great. The portion sizes were decent for the the price (I was especially impressed with amount of naan bread). My chicken madras was delicious and wasn't as westernised like other places. The naan was soft but crispy, which I love! My boyfriend loved the butter chicken and found it was much more tomato based then other places - but nonetheless still delicious!

Will definitely come be coming back :)

Each Friday we as a
work team go out for lunch so we have a fair idea on what food is on offer
within 9 minutes of the office.

We were pleasantly surprised
by this little gem. Being Northern Indian the food was mild yet flavorsome as
we had hoped and served piping hot. When we visited the place was empty which
gave us the opportunity to explore the lunch menu with some explanation. I do
not think many have cottoned on that Rajas is as nice and as good value for
money as its unassuming exterior may suggest. The staff were very friendly and
it just about seemed as if we should be eating from silver by the level of
service. One minor detail we find hard is we need to return to the office
within the hour break and with a bit of a drive and a normal restaurant wait
time for meals it was cutting it a bit fine.

However this did not
mar the experience at all, over all this is now in the one of our top rated restaurants
we have visited in the last year and would thoroughly recommend it to others.

One of the best Indian restaurants ever. Food delicious with a great menu, and staff extremely attentive. Full marks.
This was my fourth visit to Raja's, and I am amazed that this place is not more popular.

I booked a table for 8 for my parents 30th wedding anniversary and I have to say - Rajas did not disappoint.
From giving us a corner table for privacy, to putting cute decorations on the table, to looking after our every request - Rajas was wonderful. The restaurant itself, looks pretty cool.
TJ and his crew looked after us really well, and adhered to the needs of some very demanding customers!
The menus has a lot of variety - and we went on Wednesday which meant we had 2 for 3 mains - excellent value!
The daal makhani was amazing - initially we thought we ordered too much, and might have to doggy bag some, but by the end - it was like we hadnt eaten for days!
Suffice to say my folks had a lovely time, which was the whole point!
Thanks you TJ and staff for a wonderful night!

One of the best restaurant in Auckland.
Quality food
Best customer service
Great staff
Well presented
Short time wait for take aways
I go to this restaurant every week
Have got addicted to there food (:
Thumbs up....

I recently brought a group of 18 Probus members for the special lunch menu, and all left feeling very satisfied. The food was great, the decor excellent, and splendid service from the very helpful staff. We will certainly return - but Indian food has to take its turn with Thai, Japanese, Italian, English, etc. for our monthly outings! Some of our members returned to Rajas within a few days, which must indicate their satisfaction!

Now, I got to know the reason behind the rating of this Restaurant in Zomato. Its undoubtedly true that this is one of the best Indian restaurants in Auckland. No too much of masala, added colour, etc,. Went there yesterday for lunch and we were a bit late. But then the Chef decided to stay a little bit longer and served with their delicious and carefully cooked Chicken and Fish curries. I tried the Goan Fish curry which was too good. The Fish just melted in the mouth and the combination with naan bread made it more delicious than with rice. Only a very few Indian eateries have really good Naan breads and this is one of those. Talking about hospitality, this place takes the No.1 position. The beautiful wall art and lighting gives a good feel no matter what the weather condition is. This place is already in my bookmarks.

Recently visited the place with couple of mates from gym driving from mt roskill to botany to see if it's any different to other Indian restaurants, and I must say its the best one to visit, once you go you will definitely go again. Wonderful warm atmosphere with very friendly staff . The food was amazing probably the best chicken tikka masala I have ever had . Highly recommended to everyone and yeah we will definitely be going there regardless of the long drive , difinitely worth it . Thank you Raja's team.

By far the best Indian restaurant in my opinion. Their food is always spot on when it comes to flavour. It's obvious that the owner takes pride in his restaurant, he is very attentive and cheerful. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Indian food.

The staff and place is very welcoming. I liked the onion bhaji and butter chicken the most. The chef has an authentic cooking experience and cooks really good food. The service being provided by the staff here is just amazing. The owner also pays attention to provide best service. Finishing food with Amritsari kulfi is wow!!! There has been an opportunity to go into a draw here as well on the occasion of Christmas. :)))

My wife and me moved from Australia a month back and my cousin recommended us this place and we loved it. The food was outstanding with great range of curries. The dessert, mango kulfi was terrific. The staff were very welcoming and caring. We went there twice already and recommended this place to my boss for the staff Christmas Party. A big thumbs up????

I moved from India a few months back. Although New Zealand has a very good mix of all the cuisines, I found authentic Indian meals to be scarce. I have been to a few popular restaurants in Auckland and I found them a bit foreign and bland. I came across Raja’s a few days ago and went there tonight with a group of friends. Ordered few different meals and they all had the heat in them. Felt just like at home after a long time. Chicken Lazeez & manchurian are highly recommended. Hospitality is far better than any of the restaurants I have ever received including the ones from back home. The waiters were on their toes the whole time we were there. Will recommend to others like me who are looking for the real taste of home.

I come up from Nelson to Auckland and each time catch up with girlfriends and dinner at Raja's is a must. The curries are so spicy and the roti bread a perfect match. Can't wait till next time. The service is always impeccable with very friendly staff, nothing is too much for them to make your dinner a memorable experience.

Wonderful staff and excellent food /service. Last time it was $10 for Lunch special. Has now been modified to $10, $12(naan added), $15(naan juiceadded)....Still good value for money. Recommended for a try. ????????????

If you're looking for a quiet, laid back atmosphere in a elegant setting where you can delve into deep conversation with that special someone... This is good restaurant for you.

My experience at Raja,s Indian Cuisine has been generally positive over the month. Really impressed with the quality of service with very friendly staff, and quality of Food. The owner usually comes by to introduce himself and check on his customers. This man runs a great business and even better restaurant. Little things like that add a lot of value and restaurants tend to overlook the small details. It's rare to have a genuine service like this.

A night to remember!

We have always heard great things about Raja's but for some reason we had never got around to going there until last Friday. And I am so glad we did. Browsed the menu online & finally decided to dine-in this restaurant as I was looking for a menu that would suit foodies in the family, my husband who loves Indo-Chinese cuisine and children who would enjoy authentic yet mild dishes. The menu, venue and atmosphere met all of my expectations. Such a vast menu & yet they do not mind if you order something that is not there. Tried their malai tiikka & stuffed capsicum with a bottle of grapetiser. Wow! What a combination!
Veg Manchurian & Chicken Amritsari is something we would remember for a long time.
The waiters are excellent, they always seem to be right there when you want something but at the same time never hovering to get your plates when you're finished. The service is by far the best we have ever received from an Indian Restaurant.
We highly recommend Raja's Indian Restaurant & surely will be back soon.

Food was good. Awesome staff. I am so so happy with the friendly service.... Good atmosphere. Enjoyed freshly
Made naan.. Mango lassie can't wait to have it again. I don't eat lamb but I tried here and it was great.

Great food and great service as always. Best Indian in the area by far. Love the Handi Lamb.

Shared a wonderful evening at Rajas with the family! Amazing food & excellent service, its just a lovely restaurant to relax and unwind in whilst enjoying authentic Indian cuisine. Thanks T.J and team!

We ate here a few weeks ago with our family of 16 people. We booked at the very last minute, and were met with a prompt and thorough reply from TJ, who then accommodated us no problem.
The food was delicious, fast and perfect. The restaurant was sparkling clean and generally I could not have asked for better service. Thank you Raja's and TJ for giving us such a pleasant dining experience.

Have visited this restaurant a number of times and always amazed it is not busier. The service is exceptional. Prompt and personal without being OTT. Two adults and two kids enjoyed entrée main and dessert. All the food was great - miles better than takeaway Indian food. We highly recommend this hidden jewel

A small group of eight adults and two young children went for a birthday dinner. From the time we walked into the restaurant TJ made us feel very welcome. The service was fantastic always coming over to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Everyone enjoyed the meal they chose and we all had a great evening. We all took the take away menu home! Thank we will certainly be coming back again.
JP

We went to Raja's on a work training conference. Really good environment and clean surroundings. We were a big group of around 30 but this was no issue for the staff. The food arrived at the desired time and was full of flavours. Everyone of us had a good time and I sure will be back with my fiancée to have dinner again. Thank you Raja's team.

Tj welcomed us as if we were expected royalty. The service was impeccable and the food matched the expectations. I have dined at a lot of Indian restaurants around the globe and Rajahs is up there. The spices are pungent and sauces are filled with onion or tomato or protein rather than the smattering of ingredient and copious sauce found elsewhere. We enjoyed a truly memorable meal. I recommend this eating experience to all who seek a quality dining experience.

Had our first visit the other night and have to say it was the best Indian meal we have ever had.
The service was fantastic and it was truly a great experience.
We look forward to going back again soon.

We live in Golflands and decided we would try Raja's as it was so close. The service was fantastic they were not impatient with us taking our time to order and the food was the best (especially the butter chicken). The whole experience was just awesome. We would highly recommend it, we will all be coming back.
Pasquale Patrick Guerrera
Amazing! For all the celiacs and gluten intolerant all mains are gluten free, I can personally vouch for no repercussions after eating here. It was such a large quantity for such a low price, and the quality doesn't disappoint at all! BEST customer service I've ever experienced as well. Highly recommended!
Rachel Jayne Merritt
My husband and I would highly recommend Raja's - Thank you for the best "Butter Chicken" I have ever had and my husband loved the "Green curry" We will be back and grateful to have found a good quality Indian Restaurant at a fair price, the meat portions were very generous.
Mariana Pienaar
My husband and I were in Auckland for the evening and didn't get a chance for dinner just before 10pm. As I was expecting to be turned down, I was shocked to find Raja's welcomed us in and let us take our time. The service was immaculate! Extremely friendly, and when we asked about the food, a great explanation was given.
I'd have to say, I've never had Indian food taste so delicious!
Over all, great service, great food, great mango lassi, and great price!
We will be heading to Auckland again soon, and have already planned where we will be dining again!
Neila
This place has very good Naan bread. I've only had the lunch special twice and both times has been consistent (even after the name change). The curry has a mix of flavours and still you can eat the spices (whole) sometimes which I like because I think it's 'fresher'. Also the chunks of meat is of good value and quality.

Thanks to Raja's,
I went online to look for somewhere to take my partner to dinner so I searched for eateries in Botany and found Raja's at the top of the list and viewed the comments.
We have been looking for a decent Indian Restaurant for a good year or so, we thought we would try Raja's.
I couldn't speak any more highly and would definitely recommend. The service was nothing but outstanding, the quality of food was exceptional and pricing was very reasonable. Have now found my new Indian Restaurant.
Thank you for the outstanding experience.

We recently had our 1st wedding anniversary at this restaurant and it was a moment to cherish. The food along with the hospitality, service and the customer service was all top class. The food pricing is also very reasonable. Highly recommend. Keep up the good work and we will surely have you as the no.1 destination if we have to hold similar occasions : )

I would like to say great thanks to Raja's restaurant team. Every time they made our visit special with warm welcome and friendly environment. My family really feel comfortable and specially like their amazing food. I celebrated almost all the occasions there. Raja's restaurant is our first choice to dine out. Huge Menu to taste different food on every visit. really hidden Gem ...wish the Raja's team best of luck !!!

Went there for a staff work party recently. It was my first experience eating at an Indian restaurant, usually I don't like foreign foods. All the food tasted amazing though and the service was really good, the staff were very friendly. The experience definitely opened my mind to Indian food, I would definitely eat there again.

Went there with friends on a Wednesday, we had the $10 Lunch special and all 5 of us had butter chicken. Hands down the best butter chicken I have ever had. The only downside is that this place is so underrated. Food was excellent, huge menu so will definitely cater to everyones taste buds

I live in Tauranga and come to Auckland quite often. I find Auckland to be very busy and full of options. Having too many options, it also means a lot confusions and dilemmas. An Auckland friend took me to this place some time ago and we went there again last weekend. Based on my two experiences, I must say that it is the best Indian restaurant I have dined in through out the country. The set up is just extraordinary and I could see hard working employees running around. The food came out nice and hot and we could smell the flavors. Their Chicken Korma was divine and the best I have ever tasted. I am a big fan of cooking myself so I guess I understand the flavors to a large extend. However, I did not know that naan breads can be so different in terms of the quality. They came super soft and tasty. You could fold them so easily like a napkin. Upon paying the bill, I complemented the owner to which he was very obliged and thankful. Overall we all had a great time there and I will return again in few weeks on my next visit.
Monique
Me and the other half went here after receiving a menu in our letterbox. They had a wide selection of vegetarian options for myself & the other half had his usual Butter Chicken.

The food was YUMMY, with just the right amount of spice. Staff were helpful when I inquired about something on the menu & they were very happy and obliging.

We would go here again. Overall great dining, Great price and Scrumptious food! Good local for us!

I went to Raja's Restaurant for a work function, awesome service and food, the place setting is very nice as well. Plenty of parking so didn't have to worry about that. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back to try their lunch menu.

We went to this hidden gem after hearing good things from our mates. So thought of giving it a shot as both the Indian restaurant close to my house are quite ordinary. As soon as I entered this Raja's, we felt that we were in a high class restaurant. Very clean and tidy restaurant with a touch of elegance. We were warmly welcomed by a waiter and were given the menu as soon as sat down. Water and poppadum arrived straight after that. We took time to order as they have such a comprehensive menu. I have not seen so many dishes in any Indian restaurant. We had their mixed platter & the waiter gladly helped us in choosing the mains. I tried black pepper chicken & my partner went for the Keema Mutter. Both the dishes were just extraordinary and cooked to perfection. A big thanks to the man & their chef. The restaurant made our night & probably the highlight of the week. Will definitely be returning to Raja's when it's our turn to eat Indian cuisine.

I love this place, the service is always great and the food is very delicious. Staff working there is very friendly and accommodating. They know how to take care of their customers and keep them well served all the time.

Went to this outstanding restaurant last night. Saw the $11.90 deal on Monday night, so wasn't expecting much. The restaurant was quiet, which added to our low expectations when we came in but we were really surprised with the food and service we received. I must say this restaurant is absolutely gorgeous! The interior is light, clean and the most elegant we have seen, unlike many Indian restaurants. The food was fresh and tasty, we have not eaten curries of this high grade in a long time. We even got a refill of rice at no extra cost. The service was impeccable including very attentive staff. The waiter never let our water glasses go empty. Would definitely come back here again and bring our friends. Keep up the good work!
Julie
Always have a fantastic meal here & they are always extremely friendly & accommodating.

The stuffed capsicum & Aloo Gobi are my absolute favorites....

So glad they now deliver to Golflands...

Great having a neighbourhood Indian restaurant that is so good every time.

Decided to try Raja's takeaway last night for the first time and my wife & I will be going back again. My wife had the Palak Paneer which is her favorite Indian meal. She thought the sauce was lovely and the spice level was just right. I went with a Chicken Methi, Hot which was lovely. It could have been a little spicier but apart from that it was brilliant. The staff were fantastic and the restaurant looks very inviting. Lovely layout & quality chattels. Looking forward to trying out the restaurant very shortly.

Saturday night went with family to this fabulous restaurant. The food was amazing and full of flavours. Went to Oh Calcutta last saturday for a family dinner and the experience was average, the food was average. but experience to this restaurant was outstanding. The food was amazing, flavoursome and truely authentic. The staff was very friendly and warm. I have been to almost all indian restaurants in auckland and believe me I found this the best.
Liannja
I have visited here several times and have found the staff very friendly and the price very reasonable.

Each time I visit I choose a different dish and cannot fault any of them! The food and overall experience is amazing.

I think the previous reviewer must have gone to a different restaurant! A friend took me to Raja's a couple of months ago and I have been back several times since. I just love the food here - beautiful flavours, always freshly cooked and served with hot plates which doesn't happen very often. We always receive a very warm welcome and nothing seems too much trouble for TJ and the team. To my mind the meals are very reasonably priced with portions I can't quite finish .......but persuade myself to because they taste so good. Try the Prawn Malabari with an Amritsari Naan - my mouth is watering at the thought and I was only there last night!

I walked into Karma and the menu says Raja's Indian Restaurant n bar!!!....go figure lol..we were served a couple of papadums..which is nice..some mint chutney along with it would go nicely....the roties are huge and tasty ....the food...well..average. The butter chicken is standard like any take away. Overall it's overpriced Indian takeaway food. So that's why the low rating.

We Love this place. Delicious food, made just the way you want it, the owner is happy to tweak the order to get what you want. The owner is very attentive and an all round nice guy. Great value for money too, the $10 lunch is just right and it includes a nan bread too. Eaten there many times, always consistently high standard, the food, the place and the service. I can recommend this curry house to my fellow Poms, we do know a bloody good curry when we see it.
