We had the garlic bread, calamari, lasagna and risotto as entree size and it was enough for two adults. All the dishes were delicious and the staff were nice and very accommodating with us having a stroller. It is a small restaurant and very noisy so if you’re not a fan of loud noise, it could be hard to enjoy the food.

Upscale restaurants with cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Delicious food. Very quick and prompt service. Felt really welcomed though we went there at closing time. Good options to choose from. The only thing would make it best if the pasta were homemade.

Paid NZ$46.96 (including surcharge for paying by credit card) for 2 persons dinner. The Hawaiian pizza was nice - filled with a lot of ham and the crust was crunchy. The Fettuccine Sette Sodi was flavourful and the sauce was creamy. Service was friendly, attentive and efficient. They helped us to get a table although we didn’t make a reservation. They served water without us asking. The decor was nice but was quite noisy as there were a lot of customers.

An outstanding Italian restaurant! We ordered the risotto, seafood pasta and vegetarian fettuccini, garlic bread, marinated olives, salad and tiramisu. Each dish was cooked to perfection. We weee served very quickly and it genuinely felt like we were in an Italian family lounge at home.

We enjoyed our dinner here. We really liked the cheese bread as it had a nice charred cheese taste. The fettuccine sette soldi and primavera were really well seasoned and sauces were really flavourful. The Gamberi was good but just a bit under seasoned so we added a decent amount of salt to it. Dishes also took a while longer than we would have liked to come out however they did seem kinda busy. Cocktails were nice and refreshing as it wasn’t overly sweet.

Best place for Italian food.went there last Friday with family. Food was delicious and service was amazing. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We tried pepperoni pizza and seafood chowder. I loved seafood chowder ( signature dish) definitely recommend) We finished our dinner with the Dessert (Tiramisu )A delicious night cap.

I have been to this place 3 time before writing this review so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The food is really really average at best and last time the cashier really pissed me off I wont go into details as it doesnt matter but that was the last straw for me

They are open in lockdown. As well as pizza, there is real food. We had the fabulous lemon chicken and a rare steak mignon. Both travelled well and tasted perfect once we got home. Ordering the steak rare meant it didnt over cook while we got it home. Fresh vegetables. Best dinner in lockdown level 3.

We called into Da Sette Soldi on Friday night with no reservation even though the place was near capacity we were found a table and made most welcome . As we were in Auckland for an exhibition booking a time was hard . We managed to call the following 2 nights also and were accommodated with no booking (sorry ) would recomend you book as this is always busy and Food and service was superb !! 5 stars from us guys

Came here with family for dinner and we had a great experience. The staff were extremely friendly and helped us customize a pizza for our kids (they don’t like pineapple on pizza, the weirdos). The menu has a lot to choose from, which we all loved. Thanks for a wonderful evening!

The place was extremely busy and mostly booked out, but they still managed to get us a table. The food and service was excellent! The food was also served surprisingly fast. Best Carbonara in town, will definitely revisit!

Great service and great food. We had the cannelloni which my husband pronounced excellent. I had the terakihi - served with the right amount of vegetables -absolutely delicious. Will return again soon. Would give 4.5 stars if I could.

Fast service very attentive for you to get order in. Entree - Garlic pizza bread, was absolutely yum, garlic cooked perfect, wasn't raw and that garlic breathe after. Cheese pizza bread, that was beautiful, cheese wasn't fully melted to go everywhere but was so tasty! Mains - spaghetti carbonara with chicken, absolutely delicious, pasta done perfectly and everything else was in proportion Lasagne - easily done normally but mince wasn't too strong and pastry was not undercooked. Overall a perfect meal and will go back to have Italian and know I will thoroughly enjoy it 😊

It is so good to be able to walk into an Italian restaurant without any reservation. This place has good friendly service, big portion for the price you pay. 1 main pasta and an appetizer can easily fill up two people. Me and my bf got a main pasta each and a small garlic bread. We took home my pasta and struggled to finish his. Will def come back next time

So this place has dropped since my last visit, went here for a birthday dinner, the staff were rude and uninterested until we paid the bill, fortunately the chef made good pizza but thats about it, me my friends and family wont bother with this place again.

AMAZING! Haven't been back in almost 20 years but the owner Duli still the nicest guy out! The service was great and the food was as expected, divine! Humble, authentic Italian food served as it should. About to become the staple Italian night out again for sure.

This is by far the best restaurant we've been to since we've lived in NZ for the past 9 years. Food was absolutely amazing and reasonably priced. Large portion sizes. The service was great as well. Unlike the regular kiwi restaurants the food was not bland and had heaps of delicious sauce. Comfort food at its best. The place has a lovely cosy and relaxed ambience. We will definitely be going here on a regular basis, it's worth the drive from Orewa!

We turned up without a booking on a Friday as I figured a local Italian restaurant must have a table. WRONG! We went home and waited for them to call when a table came free. They did. We arrived and had a complimentary garlic bread on the table to say thanks for coming back. That in itself is service with a 10/10! The service was brilliant. Restaurant full to capacity. Food was great too. Local, quality Italian. Personally I prefer my pizzas with less cheese but I didn't choose the pizza so I was fine. Good wine list and byo too. What else do you need?! Thank you for a lovely evening

If your after good comfort food and a great ambience, this Epsom institution hits the spot - have frequented here off and on over the last 15 yrs and enjoyed every visit. Not the most exciting and authentic Italian food experience perhaps, however it delivers on a fun night out and I will continue to visit.

Been here on and off for ten years. Overall jolly good. Owners and waiting staff are friendly and efficient. Food is consistently good. I like the Chowder and the duck is excellent. The venison is slightly over flavored but that suits the partners taste. A place for two or four, Can be a bit loud at times.

The prawn dish was not great but hey we didnt care as everything else was great and wrapped up in such great service that we can forgive it. Keep it up and dont go changing except for Maybe the prawn dish;-)

We have been going to Da sette Soldi for nearly 10 years and never once had a bad experience. The food is always wonderful , especially the Risotto and the Pollo Sette Soldi. My wife often asks for a prawn dish that came off the menu several years earlier and they make it for her. The waitresses are always friendly, as are the owners. I quite often bring overseas visitors (who are here in NZ on business) to this restaurant and they also agree that it has a unique warm friendly ambiance with good quality food and always at a very reasonable price. The Da Sette Soldi will always be our favourite restaurant.

Have been going to Da Sette for 30 years and have never had a bad experience. The staff know us by name now and we are always welcomed with smiles and great service. The prices, of course, have gone up and the restaurant is not now just a 'cheap and cheerful local place' but we keep going back as we always know that we will get good food and service. Must admit I wouldn't take a huge party there as it is pretty cramped for space, but for two - four people it is just great.

Good Service, BAD food! We regretfully spent a Saturday evening there for dinner with friends. Calamari rings were like rubber that cost nearly $30. Seafood risotto had barely any seafood in it. Fish dish tasteless. No one in our party finished their dinners. Big rip off, over priced & bland food. Would never return or recommend. All 4 of us could not wait to get out of there. Obviously waiting staff are used to bad feedback as they really couldn't care too much. I felt really bad as I was the one responsible for booking this restaurant!!

We have purchased takeaways here a couple of times (Pizza and Pasta). The Pizza was very good, the pasta was good. I have downgraded them one star as they only have a "B" food grading (which I noticed last time I went), so I probably won't be back - I really think all restaurants now days need to have an "A" rating. I don't really like the thought of a place that produces food for others only having "moderate" compliance with the regulations. **update - I see they are now back at an A rating again... so I have put them back on the original 3 star rating..

I have been dining at this restaurant for around 20 years, I was in nappies when we first went there. It has since been the setting to many family birthdays and celebrations. The food is excellent!! The service we have received over the year has also been fantastic. I agree the restaurant could do with being slightly larger but that aside I am sure it will see many more birthdays as the family grows. Highly recommend

I recently went to this restaurant with a client on a recommendation from my boss and boy was he wrong!!! The wine was expensive, the food was not what you would expect from an Italian meal (weak, limp, tired and flat), my waitress like the staff was both badly mannered and poorly trained ! I can not stress enough how much this ill experience cost me as I believe it was because them and the meal that we lost this client! I blame my boss ;-)

A group of six of us went to this restaurant on Sunday 17/5 also.We had a dreadful time with one of the Waitress and asked her to be replaced. (See Maggie's Review --same night we went) Food was ordinary. I had a Pizza at Prego the precious week Crisp and delicious. This Pizza was soggy.Seafood Chowder was average. Food is over priced for an establishment of this sort.6 of us for dinner with 1 dessert and a 4 entrees. Close to $300.We bought only one bottle of beer as we had brought our own wine. $7 a bottle corkage is over the top. Wouldn't recooment..Lot better Italian restaurants in Auckland.

This restaurant is definitely NOT the place to take a large group. 20 of us went early on a Sunday night to celebrate a family birthday. The space they had reserved for us was just ridiculous. When one of the chairs was occupied, it actually prevented the wait staff from getting out of the kitchen with the food - not well thought out. The food was very good quality but being crammed in and having no room to actually eat it, spoiled the evening. It was not only because we were a large group, I looked at other couples and foursomes and no one really had enough room. It is only a small place. We had one friendly, smiling waitress and one who scowled the whole time and slammed items down on the table. Not the best evening I have ever had - and we were all looking forward to it so much!

We've been coming here for about 15 years. A nice family restaurant with great food. Everyone we take here loves it. The menu never changes but who cares when you like what's on offer. I always have the pollo sette soldi - chicken in a marsala almond sauce. The takeaway menu is extensive. The decor is a little tired/basic.
