Review Frasers - Auckland Central

Etomia Wilson
Lovely service, perfect coffee and wine. I had the steak sandwich, it was nice but tge steak little thin for the price. My sister had the corn fitters and chicken, it was a huge tasty serving. The decor is fabulous, with a lot if hard surfaces, it echos a bit when full but is lovely when quieter.

As good as usual. I haven’t been here for a long time. Time feel like frozen. The foods are good and very friendly service staffs. Especially thanks to May for the great service 😊 Nice to see you again.

Service was good. Food was decent. I'm not a great judge for coffee but I liked the ones we got well enough. The spicy beef pastry was on the saltier side but the chicken quiche was perfectly cheesy and tasty. We also got the banoffee cake and the classic chocolate cake. The chocolate cake was rich and dense, yummy but not out of this world. The banoffee cake was really good though, the banana layer was like mousse, very light and quite subtle, which balanced well with the toffee layer which was much sweeter. Overall a nice experience.

Super busy Sunday at Frasers! It's a pity the Sunday roast beef is only available for dinner.. Food was yumz & the range of cakes was excellent, making it hard for me to decide!

The food here was okay, the service was really good but i really enjoyed their cakes- carrot cake and banoffee. They were really good. For my dinner i got the rice noodle dish with crispy tofu- the tofu was flavoured really well.
Priscilla Trindade
One of my fav places. They have great food and staff are nice. I highly recommend this cafe.

Dined here for dinner, service was friendly. Food was good.Beetroot salad was fresh and tasty.Korean chicken was full of flavours. The baked New York cheesecake was the best part of our dinner.Overall good food and cosy atmosphere.

Went there for lunch with my partner and got a whole slew of dishes which we shared. Everything fell on the scale of "omg this is delicious" to "yea this is ok" (ie the stuffed mushrooms side, and fried chicken with bbq side was just ok) I did really love the cold salmon on sesame bagel! Absolutely delicious! The service was also good (especially since it was busy) and the location is great.

Been to Fraser’s a few times recently, love this place! always feel welcomed by staff and the food and drinks are great! felt full after the meal and super happy with the quality of food! definitely recommend for a family or friends meal.
Esther
Nice chirstmas atmosphere, but the sandwich and coffee were so so. I had an eye filet steak before, and it was good.

Just had a lush breakfast at my favourite Mt Eden cafe/restaurant - Frasers. You can't go past their avo on sourdough with a poached egg. Yum. Their staff are always attentive and friendly and the whole place has a really cool vibe. A great way to start the day.
Vicky Huang
New York baked cheesecake was super nice, only came for dessert today, definitely will return!

We had the bao, prawn linguine, risotto and slow cooked beef cheek. The slow cooked beef cheek was cooked perfectly juicy, soft, and slightly chewy. Also tried the iced chocolate which was incredible! Highly recommended!! The service was great too. Overall, we had a great dinner at Fraser’s.

Packed as even at 10pm but on a Saturday night. Had to sit on one of the outside tables which we preferred, actually. <br/><br/>Last time I came to fraser's unfortunately was a bit disappointed with the food we got for dinner. Only got dessert tonight - and it wasn't bad! Whittaker's ice chocolate was yum, not too sweet. The tiramisu was quite nice, had a good alcohol flavour without being too sweet either. The sticky date pudding was a little sweet, and I couldn't really taste the dates. The poached pear was nice though. Good presentation throughout all three!<br/><br/>Frasers still remains a good place to go when a lot of other places are closed!

Came here for the cheesecake and it delivered.

As a first time customer im pretty impressed with the Menu.. I love the Classic Bacon Benedict ♥️♥️♥️ The home made hollaindaise is the best... I will definitely go back for a brekky..

4/5 for desserts<br/>3/5 for food <br/>WHY? Their cakes, especially the banoffee cake is something I will crave & eat allll the time. There was one point where I would be going there for their cakes once a week haha. Their coffee/drinks are not bad, not the most amazing thing but definitely enjoyable. <br/>I have had their food a few times. Been there for brunch, lunch & dinner. The food is again, enjoyable but not the best I’ve had & not memorable like their desserts. Their food may be hit or miss though. I remember I didn’t have the best breakfast food (tasteless & bland. I think I just picked the wrong item. If I recall correctly, it was porridge). If you do want to try their food, go for lunch or dinner. <br/>I live close by, that’s why I’ve dined here so often. But honestly if it ain’t good, no way would I go so frequently. The place is constantly packed!! They renovated a few years back & it looks stunning inside now. <br/>-> BE BACK OR BACK AWAY? If you didn’t get it yet, basically...I would definitely be back for their desserts. Never for breakfast, maybe for lunch or dinner.
Bhoopika
Ordered egg Benedict with smoked salmon instead was given bagel with bacon. Informed them about it but unfortunately I still didn’t get what I ordered instead I received bagels with smoked salmon!! <br/>Piece of advice next time you order please make sure they repeat your order.

Frasers has and always will he my go-to place for cheesecake and tea! They never disappoint with their selecton of cakes and friendly service. Its no wonder they are always busy and get loyal customers like us! Their classic baked NY cheesecake is my absolute favourite! Lovely place!
Ashritha Bagadam
This place never disappoints! I’ve always been blown away by the customer service and the food/desserts.
JXXXN
Best banoffee cheesecake in town. Make sure you get it with yoghurt! The fresh banana in the layers go perfect with it! We also got the chocolate mousse. It wasn’t overly sweet which was great.
Annie Low
Frasers would always my favourite place for DESSERT!!!! Best BANOFFEE pie & NY baked cheesecake in Auckland!!! ❤️ Words can’t describe how delicious their truffle risotto is! Absolutely outstanding 💯 You have to try it out yourself. 🤩
Xin Xuan Lee
Highly recommend their New York cheesecake. I personally don’t like cheesecake but LOVE the ones from them. It satisfies my tastebuds! The food in general is just really good. The staff is also super friendly and the ambience is great! Loved the experience.

My friend and I had wanted to meet up for coffee and Frasers is well-known for their tea/coffee and desserts so we decided to go there. There were many red flags during our visit. Firstly, no one was taking our order. Other tables were being served before us that had arrived after us. I had to ask the lady, who seemed to be the manager, for someone to take our order. When our coffees arrived, the waiter roughly put them on the table in front of us. The same manager had asked us to leave after a while because they had apparently promised another couple for our table. I had not received the same promise when I arrived and had to wait at the bar before getting a table. I had to wait patiently until someone left. I thought it was very rude and that couple did not even get seated at our table once we had left. When we had paid, I had asked for a takeaway dessert. No one packed my dessert and I was waiting at the till and told the manager that I have paid for it and no one was acting on it. She asked one of her staff twice to do it. Good food but never going back them due to the poor service.

Frasers is famous for its cakes mostly. The banoffee is amazing along with its other cakes. I have also tried the creme brulee which did not disappoint either. Their food menu is good too - although portions could be bigger. It's a nice dessert/hangout area for friends to catch up with an outside seating area also.

Haven’t been here for few years now and found out they had renovated the place. It is now much bigger than we remembered. We used to love coming here for desserts as they open until 11pm and it is still as great as it was. We came with a party of 6, didn’t have a booking so had to wait about 30mins for a table so make sure you book next time. We like their banoffie, baked cheesecake, white choc cookies&creme slices, and they come with a side of creme or yoghurt. For $9 each, it is still very reasonable. They serve Harney&sons tea. They allow us to split bills. Friendly service and great place to have late night desserts craving!

Had an awesome christmas eve dinner with my husband at frasers. Food was yumm! Ordered the scotch fillet, angus burger and had the whittakers iced chocolate.
Tanya Engineer
The food was good portions for the price and well cooked. The highlight was the Green Eggs and Ham, French Toats and the Salmon and Potato Gratin for breakfast. The eggs benedict would’ve been good with some wilted spinach to round out the meal. A cute little spot on Mt Eden’s strip. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. Definitely nab a table outside on a good sunny day.
Foodfaker
I love this restaurant!! But when I tried their korean style spicy chicken , it was too sweet and not korean styled
Sarona
The food is amazing! Would definitely recommend, the smoothies are really good too 😍
Ricky Bhat
Great Eggs Benny and great selection of cheesecakes and desserts, they are often quite busy but have never had a bad service here and do recommend this place!
Hayley Kirwan
Terrible service, waited 45 minutes for food and left after 2 tables were served AFTER us. They served those 2 tables food that we had ordered and we had asked twice where our food was. They then tried to charge us for the food we never got! Spoke to the manager and he tried to argue with us - potentially some customer service lessons are required as you don’t achieve anything by arguing with a customer! Worst part is they weren’t even sorry. This place has gone downhill, it used to be great. Suggest they work on their customer service urgently.

Honestly, love going here for Sunday brunches and especially love the desserts! <br/><br/>The first time I tried the cake, I brought my friend and we came back after next da. <br/><br/>Although it's too busy sometimes, I don't mind waiting for a seat.
LilianMonaghan
Been here several times and love their food especially the desserts and ambience. Service was quick and staff were very friendly. Highly recommend baked cheesecake, creamy, cheesy and heavy!
The Poor Foodie
Their New York cheesecake is the best I’ve tasted so far!<br/>This place is open until late and just 10 min away from my house so I decided to go and get a late night dessert. Not really cheesecake fan but this one really surprised me. It wasn’t a big piece so it was slightly expensive ($9) but it was really rich and loved the bottom of the cheesecake. <br/><br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Service: 3/5<br/>Overall: 4/5

Fraser has been my late night favourite for cakes!! Their cake range hasn’t change since my uni days - more than 10 years ago !! Cakes quality has been very consistent over the years , I enjoyed most the cakes , especially the New York cheesecake and banoffee 😋 !! <br/>
Arianaaa
Their baileys cheesecake with Greece yoghurt is the best in akl! If I’m craving for some alcoholic cake, this should be your first choice! Place is always busy, love that they are open till late too ☺️
L Perera
Always a good place for a quick meal and the the night drink. The brandy / espresso is especially good on those cold nights. Service is also good.
Ch66
We had a really nice experience dining here. Quality food and professional service. No complaints. Would definitely come back again.
Asianfoodie
Always having a pleasant experience during my visits at this place. Their desserts are amazing especially the banoffee cabinet cake!! They are served with yoghurt and fresh cream which is a plus, adding the extra flavour to the cake.
Koyal Lal
Love this place! Their dessert is delicious and staff is lovely. It’s so cosy inside. Definitely recommend this place. Will go back for more 😋
Sal
Great customer service, always making you feel welcome and comfortable. Food is great and cheese cake is the best I’ve had. Highly recommend
CHIFAN.EATS
This place is perfect for any occasions. It’s always so packed and we managed to get a table at rush hours without a reservation. We had the burger, gnocchi and the goat cheese soufflé. Our burger was juicy and flavourful, and gnocchi hoes so so well with pumpkin and kale. Goat cheese soufflé was interesting but can gets a bit heavy after a few bites. We were so full and satisfied after the meal, will definitely come back and try their cake next time!<br/><br/>Food 8/10 Service 6/10 Ambience 9/10

I have been here for several times. On my visit yesterday, the food is still 5 stars, however the service is just disappointing.<br/><br/>It was not during the peak hours. The table occupancy was less than half of the restaurant. I ordered a common drink from the menu but they bring me the wrong drink twice. I understand people do make mistakes. The disappointed side was that they just walked away without really finding it out. I also ordered two cheesecakes at the same time along with drinks. The second one only came when all of our drinks finished after my several inquiries to waiters.

We come here every once in a while. Their cabinet is definitely worth a try. We&#039;ve tried a lot of their cakes and they are very tasty. Our favourite is the banoffee which comes with popcorn on the side. I do not like this change. It used to be cream or yoghurt which was much nicer because it balanced out the sweetness of the cake. However, we will be back to buy more cakes.
MCP
A lovely cafe right in the centre of Mt.Eden village, always busy at night. All their cakes are so yummy, their chocolate mouse is my personal favourite and if you dont feel like chocolate, try their cheese cake or banana cake. Highly recommended !
Rebecca Ly
Frasers is my go to for everything- brunch, dinner and dessert. The menu changes sometimes but there is always something delicious on there for everyone, including my vegetarian friends. For dessert, the banana cake with caramel icing is my favourite, and on the menu the sticky date pudding is to die for. It can get quite busy but I’ve come to expect this as it’s such a great place!
Alma Eats
Had lunch here a while ago and got their Classic Bacon Benny. My friend got the Crispy Skin King Salmon. If you haven't been here, I would definitely recommend trying out this gem in Mt Eden and getting some dessert too! Their Banoffee Pie is amazing 😍<br/><br/>Check out my insta @ohmyfoodiegoodie to follow more of my tried eats!

Came here on a weekday night and Frasers was still as popular as ever. It was quite chilly that night so we weren't too keen on sitting outside but thankfully one of their friendly staff cleared a table for us so we could grab a seat inside. :) <br/><br/>We tried their Famous New York Cheesecake and weren't disappointed! It hit the right spot in terms of having that consistency in flavour and texture. It tasted creamy but not too dense, flavoursome but not too sweet. <br/><br/>A++ our favourite cheesecake in Auckland :)
Lila Broome
Sooo tasty!! I had the buttermilk chicken burger with fries, the flavours worked beautifully with the pickled cucumber (something I wouldn't usually go for) but tasted so yummy! I also had the blueberry smoothie which for some reason was one of the tastiest smoothies ive had, I think it only really had blueberry's, almond milk and yoghurt. The staff were very lovely and attentive, also the interior Is very sleek and modern! Love.
Holly Grey
5/5 lovely and quick service. Got the Baked New York cheesecake to share and two hot chocolates. The Baked New York cheesecake was amazing and one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. Highly recommended.
Where To Next Auckland
Food: I've only ever eating the cabinet food/cakes from here... but oh my it's so damn good! I make special trips to Mount Eden just to try their freshly baked cake creations. The Cheesecakes and Chocolate Cakes they create are simply delicious! <br/><br/>Service: Service is always good here. I usually only stop for cake and coffees, but they are always super friendly and attentive. <br/><br/>Ambiance: The acoustics in here make it pretty loud when they are super busy, so it can be hard to have a quiet conversation at peak times. BUT, it's a great place to chill out and relax with friends. Their food and service make it a great place to be at the weekends, even when it is busy!
Michelle S
This place gets PACKED! It’s almost impossible to get a table on the weekends at lunch time. They’re known for their cheesecakes but unfortunately I had to fight of my temptations! <br/><br/>The cafe menu is extensive and the food isn’t filled with oils or creams. I had the Paleo chicken salad and it was delicious! The natural combinations used just really put it together without the need for heavy dressings. Food was delicious!
Annie Tong
Truly amazing service, and Fraser’s new renovations add so much more space and seating - in love with the rustic brick and beautiful bar. The cabinets are always full of delish treats and cakes, always takes us a good 30min up our minds! If you are stuck.... try the chocolate moose cake and the house banoffee pie! Chocolate cake so moist, surprisingly not too sweet to finish! The banoffee was rather sweet in my opinion but the cake is light and fluffy, however caramel popcorn a little stale. The brunch was great! Green eggs and ham was a great choice and the coffee comes in very satisfying ceramics. I will be back!
Tanya Brain
Came through on a late Monday night seeking dessert and hot tea and coffee with family and wasn't disappointed. Such a cute, cosy place with a warm vibe and great staff. Ordered 2 desserts off the menu and a couple of cakes from their cabinet. Great taste from each plate but that lemon meringue tart was exactly what I needed with my cuppa, can't wait to come back to try the menu.
Will Nono
Customer service is great. The chicken turkish tasted just so so. The flavor of the cumin is too strong for me. But the cheesecake is tasty.
It's Me
Came here with a group of friends for brunch and thought the atmosphere was pretty lively - the interior is very modern-industrial. The staff are friendly but are really busy - Super organized though. The food is good, huge portion sized meals - I tried their famous NY baked cheesecake - delish!. I would definately revisit and try some of their other dishes/cakes.
Jason
Really busy place - got to be early as it fills up quickly - been coming here for last 5 years as they have awesome crispy bacon and eggs on toast
Karen
Been here several times now! Dessert never disappoints and the new york cheesecake is a favourite. Came here for breakfast a few weeks ago and was expecting a bit more - decent breakfast but I think I was comparing it to their desserts. Will still be back to try more off their menu however!

Little gem in Mt Eden. Good vibes nice ambient friendly staff and yummy food! This place is crowded at night especially during weekend. Their dessert is a must try. We had The Fix ( warmed choc cake served with Kapiti ice cream and choc & bailey sauce) and NY cheesecake. The NY cheesecake is sooooo creamy and it just melt in your mouth, even the biscuit base is very nice too. Warmed choc cake is very rich and match perfectly with vanilla ice cream. Cake comes in a generous portion so it’s best to share among friends.

Staff weren’t attentive enough. Went in during my lunch break today for a takeaway. It wasn’t busy and I got served right away by a staff very quickly and paid. However the staff went on busy talking with other staff member, only after I told her I was on a lunch break then she moved very slowly to pack but then decided to take a phone call halfway despite the over crowded of staffs doing nothing.

This cafe used to be the best place to chill with friends. Nice coffee and cakes made our days.... I love cheese cake here, it's not too sweet but tasty really good.

Been here for brunch on a Saturday morning. Very popular place in the centre of Mt Eden Village. The food was very good so as the coffees. A bit long to wait, but the place was literally packed. One of the best options in the Village.
Vivian C
Came here without a booking for lunch on a Monday and the place was completely packed. The servers were very accommodating however, and were able to seat us without much of a wait.<br/><br/>I ordered the Wagyu Beef & Vietnamese Noodle Salad. The beef was just absolute perfection and melted in your mouth, but unfortunately I found the noodle salad itself lacked quite a bit of flavour. My friend got the Fried Chicken Burger and a slice of Carrot Cake and enjoyed both of them.
Benedict Uy
Came by for dinner since to try out quite a few of their dishes. We didn't book and was able to get a table but it was a Thursday in early January.<br/><br/>To start we tried the buttermilk squid, Korean chicken wings, snapper tortillas, and the goat cheese souffle. The tortilla was amazing. The squid had an interesting texture but a bit bland. The souffle was also quite interesting, light and cheesy with a bit of crunch from the nuts. One of the waitresses offered us the dessert menu while packing the plates not realising that we also had mains coming.<br/><br/>We had the duck and the lamb shanks for the mains. The duck was quite nice along with the gratin. Didn't like the shanks as much but the chips on top were great.<br/><br/>For dessert, my friend recommended the fix and it was amazing. A rich and chocolatey cake that hit the spot. We also tried the white chocolate shortcake since they didn't have the coconut panna cotta that I wanted to try. It was lighter than the cake and the marshmallow along with the lemon curd was reminiscent of a lemon meringue pie. Also had an iced chocolate to go with dessert but it was nothing compared to the fix.<br/><br/>Nice food and service. Portions of the mains were ok, the starters maybe on the smaller side. The dishes had nice and interesting flavours.
Saphic Chan
Awfully disappointed today with my order of chicken burger. It was dry and tasteless. Desperately lacking any sauce to bring together the dry bun and the even drier fried chicken. I could have been better off with an order of the same, much happier, at a quarter of the price at any random fast food outlet instead :(
Garron White
So firstly, they were open on New Years day (great whoever decided that), and secondly, even they were so busy-(there was like a bus load of staff there too) the staff were so attentive and just genuinely kind. Coffee was on point and their scones are yum as. Wanna go back and try their meals next time. My new go to place for a coffee when I hike up Mt Eden.
Mai
Love this place, cosy and relaxed ambience, the food is very good, well- balanced flavour. <br/>Come for dinner or just tea and dessert are both great<br/>Their dessert dish is great~~<br/>Staffs are friendly, polite and helpful

My partner and I decided to go to frasers yesterday. He goes quite often, around once a month or so. Great location, awesome staff and amazing cakes. <br/><br/>Almost all the inside seats were full so we just sat outside as it seemed quieter. He ordered a hot chocolate and I got a large flat white. But what i got was a cappuccino with lots of foam...<br/><br/>so i went inside and explained what happened. Staff were really polite about it and apologized. Few minutes later a tall guy brought a new coffee. He looked annoyed and said: “here is your coffee” without a sorry or smile. I understand, that when it’s busy, and you’re tired it’s hard to make smile. I felt bad for making him make new coffee. <br/><br/>Until i saw the coffee, and the foam was really weird. It was a soy flat white. Soy... Which was again a completely wrong order.. <br/><br/>I was not angry or anything. But seriously let down..<br/><br/>They really don’t know what a latte, flat white, cappuccino is...<br/>

Absolutely love frasers!!! Have visited 3X in the past two weeks after discovering you guys on a late night mid week hunger strike! So glad we did! We had the gnocchi, calamari, fish tacos and pork bayo accompanied by a bottle of rose and sticky date! We couldn’t believe how satisfied we were so we had to bring a family member the next time for pork bayo, calamari, coffee and desert! Again delicious! After Indian down the road we had to pop in for tiramisu and coffees! Cannot fault, honest food, decent prices, adequate portion size, lovely staff some of who are young - be patient repeat something if you feel you need to. Older, French? Italian? Waiter is amazing! Will be back to try mains soon! Thanks a million!! 👍🏼 Saph & Matt

A while ago I came here for a late night dessert to satisfy a sudden craving for something sweet. I had their white chocolate oreo cheesecake and a hot chocolate, which I drank way too fast. Whilst the dessert was not earth-shattering, I did get my fill. The place looked nice and cosy. The best part was their an all-around great service.
FoodiesTable
Delicious salads and granola. Tea is nice too. They were very busy when we arrived so a bit of waiting for service but nice ambiance overall.
Asha Switchblade
This is my local. The best food, best coffee and best customer service! Beats other cafes in central auckland with the warm friendly vibe you get when you walk through the doors. That’s why we always come back every week.
John Ha
We were seated on arrival however wasn’t given a single attention for 20 minutes with no water and menu. Aweful customer service and this was not the first time I have experienced such lack of care by the waiters/waitresses.
Jen Lin
Although Infamous for the dessert selection (can confirm), We decided to try out their brunch menu. <br/><br/>Food: 3/5 <br/>Between the 2 of us, we ordered “The Grill” - selection of scrambled eggs w sourdough bread“, “Crispy Skin King Salmon”, Latte and Iced Coffee w Soy milk”. <br/><br/>Portion size of scrambled eggs with “The Grill” was verry generous and cooked to perfection. Vine tomatoes were tasty and sweet - complemented the delicious crispy bacon well. Sourdough bread - unpleasantly quite dry and stale. Highlight of this meal were the roasted potatoes. Absolutely devine with all herbs and salted just right. Yum! <br/><br/>Had high expectations for this dish - the “Crispy Skin King Salmon”, unfortunately the salmon was overcooked and ended being quite dry. Additionally, only one small piece of the salmon was recieved instead of 2, as seen on previous images on Zomato and observing other customers’ recieving the same dish. <br/><br/>Well-made latte and Iced Coffee.<br/><br/>Price: 3/5<br/>The Grill - $24.9, $22.90 for Crispy skin salmon dish, Iced Coffee - $9.50, Latte $4.90.<br/><br/>Quite pricey for what you get, in comparison to other cafes around town. <br/><br/>Ambience: 4/5<br/><br/>Service: 4.5/5<br/>Seated straight away and staff were all very attentive.<br/><br/>Though little dissapointed with their brunch food, won’t stop us coming for their yummy selection of cakes - best in town definitely! :)<br/>

Came here with a big group for a birthday dinner and we were taken care of superbly by the friendly wait staff. <br/><br/>To share, our table shared some fries + aioli and sampled the ceviche. The fish was fresh and nice, but nothing mind-blowing. <br/><br/>For their mains, my friends opted for veal, lamb shanks or steak (with a side of broccolini). However, I chose to order two appetisers instead: the Korean fried chicken, and stuffed mushrooms. The chicken wings were as delicious as you’d expect: sweet, spicy, sticky, and all-round amazing. The mushrooms were filled with feta, spinach, parmesan, and pine nuts – a winning combination. The creamy feta really fills you up.<br/><br/>Overall, we were really impressed with Frasers’ rebrand and new fit-out, along with their revamped menu and dinner offering. Here’s hoping to more dinners in Mt Eden! :)
Julia Louise
Really popular cafe in Mt Eden which is open late. It is usually very busy and I find the tables are very close together and the crowd can be a little off-putting. Friendly staff and good service. Gluten free options and non-dairy milks are available.
G
Came here for brunch and it was fab! Got the green eggs and ham, the grill and smoked salmon benny and 3 cappuccinos too. The eggs weren’t green by the way (lol) but it was a very unique dish and was amazing!! The sausage in the grill was a little average but otherwise everything was really good. Great vibes and service. Would love to come back to try the cakes!
Tovia Va'aelua
It was a quick breakfast and the food was great. Fast service, friendly people and loved the hustle and bustle of a well frequented cafe. Highly recommended for that long conversational breakfast or the short chat coffee.
Dragon88
I have been to Fraser's many times and the staff are always friendly and professional plus the food and coffee are also excellent. Unfortunately this time the coffee was weak(a new blend perhaps) and I do not like the new cups. The smoothie was really nice though. On the negative side, and this the first time I've experienced this here, the waitress(new?)was moody, surly and rude which made this particular visit a less than positive experience.
Tom Wong
I came here yesterday and was thoroughly pleased. The food was lovely and fast considering how busy they were. The burger was cooked medium rare and unlike some places actually arrived medium rare. The dessert was also quite nice however by the last few bites the coconut in the panna cotta got a tad overwhelming. Overall I would definitely recommend here, great service and great food!
Yashika Dheda
Fave place to come for dessert! The New York cheesecake was amazing and also the chocolate mousse cake. Always love coming here, have also been once for lunch, which was just as great!
Camilla Dadson
Smart cafe and efficient service but my small coffee was too weak.  My omelette was ok - on the small side and nothing outstanding about it.  The chocolate mousse cake was delicious, however.

Frasers is a cosy cafe located in the heart of Mt Eden Village. It is popular with locals, well known for its rustic homely vibe, complete with cabin style decor and a delectable cabinet cakes selection. <br/><br/>I’ve been here a few times for brunch and dinner, but what I really love about this place is the dessert! They have the best New York baked cheesecake or if you feel like something chocolatey, try the chocolate mousse cake. <br/><br/>Actually, every cake is divine, served with your choice of cream or yogurt. (Or both)<br/><br/>Great tea and coffee choices too!<br/><br/>Me and a few friends shared a couple of small plates, each was larger than expected so definitely value for money. The chicken wings and steamed bun was so good!
DC
Worth a visit. Great coffee, wonderful friendly helpful staff, and great delicious food and deserts! The kids menu isn’t too bad either. We hadn’t been here for years and remember it well...still an excellent cafe. The toilets were clean too which shows quality in any place. Loved their gluten free desert options, in particular the Mediterranean Orange cake, moist and delicious!
Beccs
Fantastic cafe in Mt Eden village! Haven’t been here in years but had such a lovely experience with friends visiting from overseas! The food was superb we tried the paleo chicken salad, smoked salmon bagel, Cajun chicken, kids French toast and the fish and chips! Coffee a definite 5/5 and the desserts are out of this world!!

This is an old Mount Eden Village favourite<br/>Has a loyal following<br/>Good quality eats and coffees<br/>Has changed its look in recent years <br/>But still packs them in<br/>I have always found the food to be most agreable

My friends and I decided to go to Frasers for a good lunch as it was our first day back to uni. The place was busy and got more busier since it was around lunch. We were asked to move to a smaller table, which we did not mind and the staff were polite and friendly. We waited for our food and it was enjoyable until I found a piece of hair in my cajun chicken sandwich. Once I told the waitress she gave me a 😬 look and walked off to the back. While my friends were finishing off their meals, I just sitting there drinking my ice coffee. After waiting, the waitress came back saying “I talked to my manager and she said you don’t need to pay for your drink”. I wasn’t even halfway through my meal but obviously did not want to finish it. If they at least asked me if I wanted a ‘new’ one out of courtesy, I wouldn’t be writing this review. She took my meal and I paid $20.90 for a meal I did not finish.
FoodMakesMeHappy
Ive been here quite often for dessert. My favourites are Banoffee and baked cheesecake. Probably the best in town they are soooooooo good with flat whites that they do..... Coffee varies though, depending on the barista just like other places

Nice ambiance and quick service. I tried the banoffee cheesecake and the hot chocolate. The cheesecake was a little overpriced and also something in the mix seemed like it was a bit off/old (perhaps the bananas). <br/>Overall, it was enjoyable though. Would go back and to try more things from the menu.

We were at Frasers for lunch. My wife had the coconut crust French toast with fresh fruit, etc. It was refreshing with lots of fruits & delicious, although it's not my cup of tea. I had the wagyu beef & Vietnamese noodle salad with toasted peanuts. It looked a bit messy & it was a bit too much on the sour side.<br/>(Food - 3.5/5; Service - 3/5; Ambience - 3.5/5)<br/>Visited on 24 June 2018

I was a regular customer of Frasers but not any more. I just been there to have a drink with friends. But the lady manager is very rude to me and my friends . Also the head chef with another staff is very rude to me again.. I never been one of the restaurants or cafe have this rude customer service. <br/>

Really cool place in mt Eden! Had the crispy skin salmon with potato gratin and poached eggs and hollandaise which was yum and a soy hot choccie too. The cheese scones are also good - get it toasted! It gets super busy especially on the weekend so sometimes there can be a short wait but it is worth it.

I am a regular customer of Frasers. But by hearing my friend’s experience of the owner’s super rude behavior to the customer on 2nd of may 2018. I will never go back ever again! The owner need a serious apology to my friend!!!

Frasers is absolutely one of Auckland finest, especially when it comes to dessert. <br/><br/>Ambience: Modern and cozy. It is much bigger inside than it looks from outside. Love the seating plan and the semi open kitchen. <br/><br/>Service: Friendly and attentive staff from start to finish. Our waitress was super helpful when talking about menu and taking request. <br/><br/>Food: I had the Vietnamese beef noodle salad and I LOVE it. I really think it’s the best I’ve had in Auckland. Fresh, tasty and fulfilling. The beef was cooked to perfection, not at all chewy. I really can’t recommend it enough. My friend on the other hand got the Crispy skin salmon with poached egg, spinach and potato gratin. She likes her dish as well. Best part is dessert aka the famous banana toffee cake with caramelised popcorn. It is the perfect combination of sweet and creamy, and it hits the spot. <br/><br/>Overall it was one of the best dining experience I have and will definitely come back for more.

We came to Fraser knowing that we’re going only for the dessert. In the little cabinet, they have a great selection of desserts (more likely Americans style). I’m not a fan of banana but the banana toffee with caramel popcorn got my heart. Cheese cake is rich and soft. Every thing comes with whipped cream which I can’t complain because 70% of my body is creamy stuffs. A place for dessert.

I always choose Frasers for desert:) nice atmosphere n yummy desert especially cheese cake:) i have tried all the cakes there (i guess)n for me the NY baked cheese cake is the best:) donut is nice too!

We walked pass this restaurant after finished dinner from other restaurant. I saw many table order desserts that made me want to try some. I had tiramisu and lemon meringue pie with yogurt. I like tiramisu but lemon meringue a little bit too sour for me. Next time I want to try they baked cheesecake.

Staff are very nice, coffee is great, closes late, one of my fav places in mt eden, appetizers are slightly over priced but cheesecakes are superb

Was not a pleasant experience, maybe because i am of different ethnicity i dont know what was wrong. Goodluck guys u might be lucky or u might not be depends on owner and staffs mood

Came here for lunch and of course to finally try their famous NY baked cheesecake. <br/><br/>Forgot to take pictures of my main before chowing down, but I got the Buttermilk Chicken burger. The chicken was nice enough but a little tough. I actually preferred the burger bun they used. My friend and I got a baked cheesecake each. It was delicious but a bit too rich, we probably could have managed with one between us. <br/><br/>The staff were fairly nice and topped up our water often. Overall, a good experience and I’d probably return to try their other desserts.

Went to Frasers for a dessert fix. We ordered the lemon meringue pie and I had the creme brûlée which came with a side of berries and shortbread. <br/>The brûlée was lovely but I thought the sugar coating was a bit much. A lighter coating of sugar would have let the creamy brûlée shine more. <br/>The lemon meringue (Fraser’s famous!) was nice, especially if you’re a big meringue fan! Bit too much meringue for my liking though. <br/>On a side note- I’ve had the cheesecake here before and in my view that’s their best dessert!

My friends and I were been here in this morning, and it was really bad experience here. My friend ordered a creamy mushroom and flat white, I ordered a smoothies and benny. Then my friend found hair in the creamy mushroom, it really made us feel disgusting, i even didn’t start my benny and I did not want to try it how if I find something else in it again. We were ok to pay two drinks although the coffee is under standard, but the very “polite” boss came and shouted to us: “you guys make sure never come back!” Ohh, i was threatened and eventually knew why this awful cafe gets so high rate, because the boss will shout at every customer and kick all they out. Of course, I will never come back again for this horrible cafe.<br/><br/>My first review for to the horrible customer service.
CL
I took my friend to this "highly recommend " place for breakfast, but just found out y this place got high rate, shit mushroom got hair in it, shit coffee under standard, not happy to pay for those meals with just two bites, and be careful everyone, DON'T complain, otherwise the BOSS will say "make sure u never come back ", look how politely they talking! this is y they got so high rate, because nobody have right to complain, they all had been kicked out! of course I will never ever go back to this shit place! how horrible is the customer service!

Frasers is our go to in Mt Eden for catch ups! You can tell it's popular by the constant crowds that fill their tables. We are yet to have. Bad experience here! The coffee is good, hot chocolates even better and their desserts (especially the cheesecake) are worth the calories. We visited in the weekend and loved the roasted cauliflower, grilled pear and blue cheese small plate. We could easily eat this as a main! The service was great. We didn't catch his name but the young dark blonde man (possibly French?) did a great job at helping us with the menu and we wouldn't have tried this dish if it wasn't for him! Keep up the good work 🙌🏼

If u are a hot chocolatier then u should put this on ur list.<br/>Food is good, so is ambience.<br/>We has Vietnamese crispy chicken and pork buns and it was good (not to die for).. i have been here more than once<br/>The only thing i will say is that it gets busy so the service does drop in between.. but just experience tops it off..

The NY cheesecake is the best in town. It’s so good. The texture of the cake is just right on spot. Not too sweet, not too moist, not too dry which I love it. Melting in the mouth. The staffs are lovely. They are just so passionate about the food and customers which make you feel so relax and comfortable.

Coffee tastes nice. Cheesecake very nice. Every time I go to Fraser’s its packed with people. Whether they are black, white, asian and mixed, they all are here.

I found the Food here is average, but they do have good collection of desserts! Seems always packed, service definitely has space to improve.

After visiting Frasers a few times I decided to finally write a review. <br/><br/>First let’s talk about their cheesecakes, holy heck they are good!!! Definitely a must try! I always get the cookies and cream, but all the others are super yummy too (pro tip: always try your friend’s meals) I’ve never been disappointed. <br/><br/>A few weeks ago I brought my little sister in, she is a very VERY picky eater but she loved the fries and the cheese cake and was willing to try some onion rings (she still said Burger King’a ones were better) she had a few which is a big deal for her, I enjoyed them they were very crispy and went nicely with the sauce. <br/><br/>Today I popped in with a friend to grab a bite, we got the snapper tortillas, crispy Vietnamese chicken and ofcs some shoestring fries! We totally demolished everything! The tortillas were quite small but still they were pretty yummy! At first bite the chicken is really salty but it’s not over powering. The ice chocolate was not bad, very rich, I think it’s made from like Whitaker’s. I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. <br/><br/>The staff is super lovely! The girls were always checking in and filling our water!
Sally S
Always a delight coming to Frasers! Attentive and friendly service. I highly recommend their Creamy Mushroom for breakfast/lunch, absolutely amazing flavour. The chocolate mousse and new york baked cheesecake is pretty good too!
Rebecca
Cakes and coffee and as good as always. Friendly and professional especially Ralph. I tried the food the first time since the renovation, gnocchi(v) was delicious topped with nice Parmesan. I would prefer less salt, just personal preference :)
Ashleigh Michelle
Came here on a Sunday for breakfast and wasn't disappointed. The food was good, nothing really stood out but the portions were a good size and left us really full. The Snickers Smoothie was my highlight, super delicious and creamy! <br/><br/>It was pretty busy when we went in but we still got served quickly and the food came out in good time. Staff were busy but friendly. <br/><br/>Reading the other reviews I will definitely be back to try their desserts! 😍
Thea
I haven’t got much to say as we only came here for dessert. We had the banoffee pie and the white chocolate oreo cheesecake. Both were perfectly fine and satisfied our craving for something sweet. Although not mind blowing, I unexpectedly enjoyed the banoffee despite not generally being a fan of it! Place looked great and the staff were very friendly.
Christine Lee
I’m a regular customer here for dessert and come at least once every one/two weeks. Cakes are amazing!!! However, I came for dinner with my friends to order meals a couple of days ago and was a little disappointed in the food. Most of the meals we ordered were quite bland and the sauces felt watered down and some of us felt the need to add salt to even the sauces. Might just continue to come back just for the dessert :/
Food Snob
Came here on the 2nd of Jan with a couple of friends for lunch. The service started off in a peculiar way; one of the servers (a German guy) asked for my friend's passport, not explaining why, and said he can get it after we pay at the counter. He saw the passport was German, exchanged a few words in German with my friend and his girlfriend, and walked off with our drink orders. We found this quite odd, as other people dining there hadn't had some form of ID taken off them.<br/><br/>I ordered the charred broccolini and a small plate of the soft herb potato gnocchi, and my friends ordered a regular portion of the gnocchi to share. When the food arrived, we were a little disappointed - the quantity of the gnocchi was the same for mine and their order, but theirs came in a slightly larger plate. The taste of the broccolini was fine, nothing too exciting. The gnocchi was a little better. The texture of it was spot on, but the dish was still rather monotonous. The hazelnuts added a pleasant crunch, but there were exactly two oyster mushrooms on my plate, and the dish could've done with some kind of sauce.<br/><br/>My total came to $33.50, and overall, it was an uninspiring experience. We came here because it's quite well known, and the places we wanted to go to were overcrowded. Maybe the desserts are better, as the other reviews suggest, but we weren't ready for another round of disappointment. The only thing that will make me return would be a rare craving for Instagram worthy mediocrity.

Fraser's is the kind of place I go to for a nice healthy snack the service was a little slow for me but in the end It was worth the wait. I hope you have the same extraordinary experience I had.

Just came for dessert, the shop has been renovated sometimes ago, keeping the original style but more elegant (I hadn't been here for long time); not disappointed at all, especially the sticky Date pudding, the Vegan Dessert is also outstanding but not sure if they will change constantly.

Table for two made a simple order for 1no Granola, 1no Brioche (warm) and 2x coffees. <br/><br/>Firstly the Granola came out before any of the others (Granola was quite dry and friend unable to finish it). Coffees followed about 5 minutes later and were luke warm.<br/><br/>10 minutes had passed and the brioche still hadn’t arrive so I asked a waitress. She said it was “coming”.<br/><br/>She comes back another 5 minutes later and the gives me a cold brioche. I asked her to warm it in which it takes over 5 minutes.<br/><br/>The only satisfying thing out of our visit was that the brioche was quite tasty after it was warmed.<br/><br/>So $30 for a dry Granola, a brioche which took 20mins and two luke warm coffees.. I can’t say it was worth the money and will definitely not be coming back any time soon.<br/><br/>However I can see Frasers does have good reviews overall so maybe we just got unlucky..<br/>

My girlfriends and I came here for a New Years Eve dinner. The food was great. The desserts were greater. But greatest of all was our waiter Antonio. He was amazing; such a great sense of humour. He went the extra mile when serving us. He made the night so much more fun and memorable. I would highly recommend this place.
S2Psycho
We went for desserts and coffee. Great place to chat, atmosphere is very nice. I would go for another cup of coffee with some friends. The desserts were really good, some may say abit greasy? oily? but good overall. Service i would say was on point, lovely service always checking thier customers, a service i like. Coffee was good and strong, also ordered a iced chocolate this one... wasnt a big fan of it, also abit pricy too. Overall go back for coffee and maybe share a plate between two. Also tiramisu was gooooood.

Came here the day before New Year’s Eve. <br/><br/>We got the Crispy King Salmon and the Paleo Chicken Salad. Of course, if you go to Fraser’s and didn’t get their cheesecake, did you really go to Frasers? We got the Baileys and classic New York Cheesecakes. <br/><br/>Portion for the king salmon was a bit underwhelming; I devoured it within minutes (also because I was quite hungry at the time). The king salmon was a bit oily and greasy and lacked flavour. The hash brown was nice though, layers of potato which was soft but dense. Runny eggs and hollandaise were standard, nothing too special. <br/>The salad consisted of pumpkin, zucchini, beetroot and paleo chicken; lacked a little flavour as well but portions were decent. <br/>Cheesecakes were good! The Baileys was a little unexciting but the NY Cheesecake was buttery yet crumbled in the mouth. You could taste bits of apricot in it, which was nice. I think my expectations were a little higher than what was delivered but nevertheless it was good! <br/><br/>Service was mixed; water could have been refilled at a higher frequency but the guy who served us our cheesecake was a gem. <br/><br/>It’s also cool how they have a semi-open kitchen so you could see the chef’s at work. The crispy king salmon and cheesecake will set you back by $29.90. <br/><br/>Food: 7/10<br/>Price: 8/10<br/>Ambience: 10/10<br/>Service: 7/10

Stopped in here for a young coffee and chat with the boys and boyette. Enjoyed the Allpress blend. Service was wonderful. Will definitely be taking bae on a date here lmao

Tried their banoffee cake, was really nice and portion size is huge! Coffee was alright, nothing spectacular. The place is always packed so you have to wait ages in line. Will come back and try other cakes next time.

I ordered the 'classic bacon benny on homemade splitz' and that is what I received. It came out as simply eggs, hollandaise, bacon, and bread. I had never eaten 'splitz' before and I enjoyed that as the point of difference for this meal. It was a dense bread with a very subtle but pleasant yeast flavour. The eggs were well cooked and the bacon was crisp with a good flavour. The sauce came in ample amounts and had a smokiness about it. The overall dish was very nice but very rich and I would have loved something fresh to balance it out.
Maryammomtaz24
I always go here for a cup of coffee and relax it’s great. Great service and love the environment and the decorations. Would definitely recommend this place.

Reasonable prices, good atmosphere and yummy brunch. Another great place for brunches in Mt Eden. Really enjoyed the omelette and crispy king salmon.

Really great staff. Attentive and friendly. Excellent small plate menu. Reminiscent of Masterchef. Specials really worth exploring. Will go back soon!

Heard a lot about Fraser and finally get to try this place too. <br/>Love chocolate and love cheesecake so I ordered white chocolate Oreo & cookie cheese cakes and had a hot chocolate . Love it ! With extra yogurt and cream at the side with an extra charge is worth trying! If you're a dessert person. Just try everything. I would go back for more next time and try other cakes and teas :)

Delicious baked cheese cake.<br/>Perfect amount of cheese flavour and biscuit base was nice and crunchy!<br/>The slice was quite big and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

This place is crazy busy during weekends, but it's worth that crazyness. This is one of my favourite places for a quick grab, a top quality coffee and a piece of delicious cheese cake. Very friendly staff and good ambience.

It was a nice place especialIy I liked candles (in the evening) and I highly recommend a peice of cheese cake 👍👍👍 It was amazing 💕<br/>I enjoyed a lot thanks

Went with family for a family time private dine out on the weekend. Busy place, sat outside for a little while and after a short period got a table inside. <br/>Well organized, lots of smart, friendly and helpful service staff. Basic, retro look ambience. This was like my third time back within the last month, and just like every other time, I flipping loved everything about it! The customer service is always top notch and the staff was really attentive it a very authentic way and they had lots of personality that was reflected in the character of the place. The atmosphere here is aways alive in a very serene kind of way and I always appreciate this. The food was a straight 5/5 for me! Everything was so beautifully prepared and the flavours worked to perfectly together that my heart is still dancing! <br/>I just love this place so much!

Came in for a late night coffee with some friends at around 8pm. Not many people at the cafe, but the table was pre booked. Had a good time with the group, went to pay and were advised because we didn’t order actual dinner only drinks we can be fined $30 PER PERSON! There was no signage anywhere saying if you dined at a CAFE you needed to order food. The person who booked the table was not advised of a minimum spend. We left Frasers feeling humiliated and highly disappointed at the fact we can get fined for not eating food. Seriously I think that’s illegal
Olivia
Great food, nice atmosphere, lovely staff! I had a delicious paleo chicken salad tonight and my friend absolutely loved the lamb shank. I will be back for dessert too though next time I think. Thank you!

Came here on a Monday for lunch! The place wasn't that busy so we got a seat as soon as we got in. We had the creamy mushrooms and bagels. The mushrooms was served hot. The first bite makes you feel like you'd want more and more of it but as you keep eating it kind of gets a bit salty. However when eating it with the bread it tastes much better because the saltiness wouldn't be that strong. The bagel was fresh and it had a little sweet taste to it which is really good with the fresh salmon (make sure to use the lemon because it reduces the creamy texture on the bagel). <br/><br/>Taste - 7/10<br/>Size - 7.5/10<br/>Quality - 8/10<br/>Price - 7/10<br/>Service - 7/10

I visit Frasers every time I'm in Auckland! The atmosphere is always great, and with wonderful service and excellent food/coffee, it never disappoints.

Another contender for the best cheesecake in town (for me), we had the New York cheesecake and a couple coffees, they were good. Service is your usual standard and the ambience is nice, very fitting of a cafe.
Sonam Kumar
Used to come to the old Frasers for coffee and cakes. Like the new set up and tried the baileys cheesecake, the Black Forest cake and the fix last week. Great desserts and highly recommend the fix for chocolate lovers

This was my first time coming after they renovated. It looks really stylish now. We got a hot chocolate and a slice of cake. <br/>Their cheesecake is always delicious. Service is good and coffee is good too. A good place for catch ups.

Came here after dinner for dessert But unfortunately we were too full to eat anything so we end up just having drinks. The lemon honey tea tasted really fresh and nice. Its perfect for cold winter night. The chai latte and affogato were also nice. Service was also very warm and fantastic. We will be back for sure to try their desserts.

I frequently visit Frasers for coffee and dessert. Every time I visit I get good coffee, dessert, and service. The New York baked cheesecake is my all time favourite. Frasers has the best NY cheesecake! I always have it with my chai latte which I also really enjoy. Frasers has never disappointed me! :)

Great food, took a little while tho.Frasers have a nice welcoming staff member at the door to open it for you which makes you feel welcomed to their cafe.I really liked their cakes but didn't like how the food took a while.<br/><br/>Overall I recommend this place to anyone in Mt Eden Village.
Joevy Lim
All time favourite! Loyal fan since before the renovation. If anything, I liked the previous cottage/home feel more but the food hasn't changed and the new staff is always full of smiles. Brought all my visiting friends and family here and the cabinet cakes (and tea) have never disappointed. Recently tried the creme brûlée from the menu and it was on point! Thanks for existing and making the world a more cake-alicious place :P

The old Frasers was a great spot. Cosy and inviting and with amazing cakes. The new Frasers feels uninviting and cramped but thankfully the cakes are still good.

Easily a cult place in Akld metro area.never been disappointed with their coffees or desserts.always full at breakfast and night time-which says a lot.my suggestions for dessert are ny cheesecake and bunoffee pie.quick and friendly service

We finally came back here after months of passing by! And all I could think was how come we waited for so long to return. This place is truly amazing (especially after the renovation) - the ambiance, the food, the cheesecake! OMG. The service was exceptional, the guy who was serving us was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to.  In fact the rest of the staff was great. Will be back in the near future.

There's only broken promises in Frasers. <br/><br/>Broken promise #1: The waiter invited us to sit on the bar and promised to switch us onto a table when it is available. Didn't happen. <br/><br/>Broken promise #2: I specifically asked the same waiter to get a table for us. He said he'll do it but we end up eating our meal on the bar. <br/><br/>Broken promise #3: The size of the Crispy king salmon size is only 1 inch square. Not very generous of Frasers. <br/><br/>To be fair, the food served is very good. Go for the custard donut, they are perfect. <br/><br/>But having good food alone is not how restaurants are reviewed. Customer service and food portion are equally as important, ESPECIALLY during peak hours. <br/><br/>Unfortunately Frasers didn't make the bar in those criteria. <br/><br/>Go to Frasers if you want to have good food, and your promises broken.
Sabine Davison
Sunday morning at around 9.30am and the cafe was bustling while others in the area were still quiet. Only one red jersey to be seen after lions lost to the AB's the night before. Excellent atmosphere and attentive, quick service and the food certainly did not disappoint. We had the French toast (Devine!) King Salmon dish, definitely would come back. It appears Fraser's is a fave hangout for Swandri wearing hipsters too, delightful!

Had coffee and cake from this place some time ago and it was pretty good,so in passing to day we drop in to pick up a few goodies for afternoon tea ,two slices of cheese cake and they were pretty darm good, they have a high standard of products here....as we stay on the other side of town ...we make a point of stopping in to Fraser's when out this way...

Used to be my favourite but some how 3 days ago was my first visit after their expansion & renovation. Heaps of tables but still felt bit too close to the next table. Cake price (~$8.00 per piece give or take) gone up but the size reduced more than couple years ago!! Oh well, everything gets expensive anyway. I loved the butter cake over the counter :)
Mehak Talwar
Ordered the mushroom shared plate which was delicious, also ordered a lemon line and bitters and it was one of the best I've had so far, looking forward to going again

We had a quick afternoon tea today ordering carrot cake and savoury brioche. This is our first time visiting Frasers after hearing all the good things about this cafe. <br/>Brioche was superb! A little heated and I am over the moon. One of the best I have tried for a long time. Lots of filling and texture was great. <br/>Service was efficient and friendly. Atmosphere was nice, plenty of tables inside, so you don't need to wait for long to get a table. <br/><br/>We will definitely need to be back at some point to try other dishes in the menu.
Alexineeels
Funky atmosphere! A great place for dessert or a meal. The dishes are suitable for any time of the day, and the seating is now more spacious after the revamp.<br/><br/>We ordered the fix dessert with a side of fries. This was pretty good and the dessert was how we remembered pre-revamp which was great! However, when ordering the fries we were advised by the waitress that it would be $8.50 for chunky chips instead of shoestring, but when we came to pay the bill we were charged $9.50 with no apology of the error which I found very unprofessional. Disappointed with such customer service!!
Trinakay
I came here on a Saturday afternoon, upon recommendation from a friend. The atmosphere was nice, great for catching up with friends or for brunch. Will definitely comeback for the cakes and the coffee however their customer service was a let down. I was rudely rushed by staff to quickly complete the transaction after I asked a question regarding my payment. It was like my friend and I were shoo-ed away straight after paying. It was odd because there was no line in the cashier and the place wasn't packed either.

Frasers!!!~ been here a lotta times for takeaway cheesecake after dinner. But today we dined in and it was fabulous! The cafe design is very homely and very welcoming, with great ambiance and situated in the middle of Mt Eden village shops! <br/>Cheesecakes here are always perfect! Personal favourite would be banoffee and ny baked cheesecake. 😍😘<br/><br/>Cheesecakes are around $8 per piece~!<br/><br/>ManMan Chan

Food was subpar at best, service was horrible after renovation, revamp of menu was unneeded and copied other restaurants. The pasta was basically raw
Emma Kostanich
Omg the fish tacos were heaven 🌮 . Coffee is great and it's nice having somewhere decent to go for a late night coffee in AKL, there aren't enough. Nice new layout but somehow the old one felt more homely / Vibey to me. Still will go back for sure, the desserts looked awesome too!

Another sugary sensation in Mount Eden. Open late nights. They whip up the best baked cheesecakes. One easily shareable amongst 2 people :-)

Beautiful food all round. This ceviche was my favourite for brunch on this day : ) entire menu is really good and everything is well presented. Looking forward to going back again soon.

Love the ambience at this cute little joint! Came in to try their cheesecakes as I've heard great things about them. Ordered their famous banoffee cheesecake and their baked New york cheesecake. Both absolutely delish! 😍 the new York was really creamy and rich..couldnt even devour the whole slice. Will defs be heading back to try more of their desserts and the food they have to offer
Mindylow_
Their classic New York baked cheese cake..... OMGOSHHHHH MUST-TRYYYYY! It's so creamy from the inside yet not feeling that sinful with hint of lemon flavour in it ! One will never enough!!

Just busy.<br/>Normal cheese cake, Ice mocha.<br/>I thought why do people visit here?<br/>Also, tables are so close with the other table.<br/>Anyway, I will not come again.

I would rate this place a 5/5 for ambience and service. Such a nice place for a chilled night with some friends. The mango cheesecake is my fave it is so delicious. I've tried the other desserts aren't too my liking the caramel slice was super sweet and coconutty. The green tea I ordered was also a bit bizarre almost like a roiboos. Would still definitely return for my usual cheesecake.

In Mount Eden, this cafe has been here for as long as I can remember. Revamped now, to give it a contemporary yet unique look, Frasers is still standing stronger than ever before.<br/><br/>Girlfriend and me decided to dine for valentine at Frasers. And lucky she got in just after 5 to lock a table for 2. This place was was bursting with locals, lovers, families with kids and everyone who was just in for some fine humble home cooking.<br/><br/>For starters, girlfriend and I orders shoestring fries with paprika aioli. Because why not fries! Crunchy, skinny and text book shoestring fries were perfect with the smooth, creamy, smoky paprika aioli. I must say, this is now the only way I like my aioli. Smoky.<br/><br/>For main, we shared a plate of ricotta gnocchi. Crispy on the outside and pillow soft on the inside, this dish came along with some crunchy green beans, summer confit cherry tomato, parsley oil and olive tapenade- all the ingredients for a delicious wholesome dish. Completely surreal, with the generous amount of sharp parmesan to lift all those flavours into a perfectly staged choreography.<br/><br/>You must be wondering why girlfriend and I just shared one starter and one main. Well well, the main reason is a traditional New York Cheesecake..which I can eat just about now as my mouth is watering for it once more!<br/><br/>I don’t know how a New York cheesecake tastes, but if it’s anything like this..I want to marry it! Lushly creamy and bronze baked, this is an orchestration of sweet and lemon tanginess of different textures from thick and satiny melt in the mouth to the buttery crunchy finish. Classic flavours of this velvety master piece comes from cream cheese, lemon, vanilla and beautiful biscuit base. This cheese cake is worth having less food for and keeping the room for dessert. Must try.

This place used to be my favorite, I went to Frasers last week with friend for coffee and dessert. We only stayed there for 30mins, we havent finished our coffee, the waitress left a bill on our table and told us to leave. That was really rude. My friend spoke to the Manager however he seems didnt care at all. I wont be back this place.

My friend and I were regulars at Frasers. We returned for the first time last friday since the makeover and were totally unimpressed. <br/>We arrived at 7.50pm. Ordered some cake and coffee..finished at 8.25pm and straight away the waitress brought the check...<br/>The place was full and made us feel that she want us to pay and go. NOT nice. <br/>We were fans of the cake cabinet and also coffee bowls which are now non existent and have been replaced with small cups hard to hold because they don't have a handle! hmm.<br/>The cake was great though.<br/>Not sure if we will be back.

Went in on Sunday night - I have been many times before but not since it's had a makeover.<br/>Came in and got seated, decor was nice but over the top "hipster" - the old decor was much better so why ruin a good thing?.<br/>Ordered a flat white with my usual baked cheesecake.<br/>No suprises the cheesecake was as amazing as always, which is the main reason why I even go to Frasers. Coffee was a complete let down - didn't know I ordered a burnt cappuccino.<br/><br/>3/5 - The cheesecake kept the rating from dropping

Frasers is always my go to guilty after dinner dessert place for their amazing cakes. This time, I went go brunch for the first time after their renovation. Arrived around 11am, was hoping it maybe fully packed but surprisingly is not. Service was great, food is good but just the coffee is bland. Overall it is a great cafe to chill either with friends or alone with their amazing cake selections.

Everyone keeps going on about the fantastic cakes at Frasers so I decided to try it out.<br/><br/>They have so many different cakes in their cabinet. It made it so difficult for me to choose. If I could, I would have chosen to try a slice of each.<br/><br/>I chose a a fruity passionfruit cheesecake for a hot day and I loved it. It was refreshing and wasn't too sweet or too rich. The slices are generous and thick.<br/><br/>I will definitely be back to try more cake.<br/><br/>Update: Burger was lovely. The buttermilk batter for the chicken breast was tasty and crunchy. The Vietnamese salad and banana smoothie were to die for. I got a mocha in a bowl and it was pretty beautiful but only came with one medium-sized marshmallow which was odd. The fries that came with with the burger left a lot to be desired, however, as it seemed pretty evident that they had been sitting for a bit.

Firstly - it has changed. Forget coffee and cakes - this is not what the new Frasers is about. <br/><br/>Underwhelmed by the change to what was a beloved institution. It was THE place to go for desserts and coffees after seeing a movie, finishing late at work or just even getting kids into bed, ducking out without the SO and meeting the girls for a quick chat. It's now less casual "let's duck in quickly" and more "oh, we probably need to stay a while there" feel. <br/><br/>I am still unsure about the abrupt change from a casual dining eatery to something that has menus and wait staff as it makes my friends and family feel like they [Frasers] are striving to compete with other nearby cafe/restaurants. They didn't realise what a hidden gem they had because there was nowhere else that was like the old Frasers. I have gone in a number of times but nowhere near the three times a week my friends and I used to go. <br/><br/>Enough gripe about what we miss - new look and feel is definitely a new vibe to the place. <br/><br/>The food on the whole is pleasant, the staff are pleasant. The water people are very obsessive about making sure your water glass is full. The ceviche however, failed to impress me - that is just salmon on a plate; it was not ceviche at all. The green bowl is pleasantly surprisingly good, very whole foods feel, but I do recommend that you add the chicken or bacon otherwise it's too too green. Steak was ok and the sides were large. Eggs bene has been delicious. The offerings are usually nicely proportioned. I do wish they still had their hokkien noodle chicken dish. The have Ugly Bagels for their bagel offerings which is a bonus in my book. <br/><br/>They have their dessert fridge thank goodness but it's tucked away awkwardly. Still got the good cheesecakes and carrot cake. And hello New York cheesecake - we missed you!! <br/><br/>I will state that it is not that great if you want to pop in and grab a takeaway coffee and cake-to-go here as there is really nowhere to wait. There are bar counter stools but it made me feel like a temporary citizen sitting there waiting for my takeaway while everyone else is sitting at their tables. <br/><br/>Overall, it's still a nice modification to the place that needed a revamp. <br/><br/>Decor: 4<br/>Food: 4.25<br/>Service: 4

Post-renovation frasers is looking good! It's a different layout but it looks sleek and a little more high-end than it was. It's table service now, instead of ordering at the counter and they have an odd little stand by the door where you pay for your meal. Despite the looks, I don't think frasers as a whole is fully up and running. The waiter seemed unsure of the majority of the items we ordered, as he asked to see the menu multiple times to check what we had ordered. He came back twice to let us know that they didn't have some ingredients for two of our dishes, and would it be alright if they substituted with other ingredients. We decided this was fine. The waiter came back so many times to refill our water too. Almost too many. The food was good though! They still do great cakes and cheesecakes from the cabinet, and their new menu isn't very extensive, and contains most of your standard brunch and lunch food. The green breakfast bowl was exactly that - very green, it felt very healthy but the egg was poached well and overall it was tasty. A friend got the mushrooms on sourdough, which ended up being ciabbata as sourdough was run out. She had ordered it before and really liked it, and enjoyed it just as much this time. Frasers still does need to sort some things out, but I'm a fan of their new look. I might be back for coffee and cake

One of the best dessert places and coffee spots to go to even at night. New york cheesecake is the best. I've been here so many times, although the latest one we didn't have a spot since we needed a high chair for the baby and the available spot left was outside and it was raining. Nonetheless, the staff were really accommodating, helpful and very friendly that they tried to look for a spot for us. Wil lstill come back though. 👍🏼

I went to have lunch with my friend of mine. We ordered 2 bagels and pasta. Avocado in the bagel was too sour. So it didn't taste too good to me and also pasta was not good at all. Nothing in it except parmeson and tomato sauce. Tomato sauce tasted like the can you get from supermarket. But floor staff was welcomed as friendly.

Well known amongst Aucklanders, the Mt Eden cafe is an icon for its desserts, specifically their cheese cakes. <br/><br/>Hunting for dessert treats to celebrate our friend's new employment, we came in on Tuesday night and it was surprisingly busy with activity. We had the banana toffee cake, classic New York and a chocolate infused cheese cake. Definitely on the pricer side for dessert but you get your money's worth. <br/><br/>It was a little difficult to determine which one was the best cake as all the cakes had their own unique flavour and taste. The classic New York was soft on the sweet side and this meant you weren't overwhelmed with sweetness. The chocolate cheese cake had a great biscuit base which provided a great firm texture compared to the cream of the cheesecake. <br/><br/>Showstopper: Cheese cakes here are fabulous! <br/><br/>Overall Grade: A-

My favorite place for cheese cake. Have tried almost all cheese cake, all I can say is yummy yummy! Service are very good too, very friendly staff.

Best baked New York cheesecake ever. Good customer service. The menu also looked good, we will be sure to return for brunch and another slice of cheesecake.

It's always a treat coming here. There coffees are great but there cakes are on point.Their Lemon meringue pie is my favorite; it's the perfect balance between sweet and sour.Their Bailey's banoffee and New York cheese cake is also very nice.Trying these treats out with yogurt brings out a fresh taste which I recommend!

Those who’ve tried Frasers’ cheesecakes will know what we’re talking about — these guys make sweet treats like no other. Nestled in the corner of Mt Eden and Owens Road, this lil’ beauty has been packed morning ’til late for over 18 years. And from the social media posts, you would’ve thought they only served Banoffee, Bailey’s and New York cheesecakes! Today we went along to the newly furbished café to try out their day menu. First impressions were pretty good — with the space stretching right to the back accommodating more seats, trendy industrial accents and exposed brick walls coupled with marble textures. A frantic scan to locate the sweets cupboard, squeezed into a corner at the end of the counter, which was a bit of a surprise considering this has historically been front and centre of the Frasers’ experience. <br/>Second and third impressions were less glorious: frantic staff seated us at the long table despite having (seemingly) forgotten our booking and their plating that morning left a bit to be desired (did the head chef go on holiday?). We are keen to return and try out their night menu after the holidays perhaps and give it a second chance. Frasers - we ain’t sold but we ain’t giving up on you yet.<br/>Check out our individual food reviews here: husk.co.nz/lunches/frasers

Was very keen to see the newly transformed Fraser's. I came here with a group of seven and unfortunately all left with the consensus that is was underwhelming and very mediocre. I previously loved Fraser's for everything that the rest of the Auckland cafe scene was not. It felt homely and could always be relied on for a late night treat with friends. <br/><br/>I ordered the pulled pork and poached eggs with romesco sauce. Luckily I clarified or I would have been surprised but the sauce is cooked through the pork so there is no sauce on eggs. It was very dry so I asked for a side of Hollandaise. One egg was also totally hard :/  Even the hollandaise was missing that "oomph"<br/><br/>My partner ordered scrambled eggs and a few sides. The eggs were dry/rubbery and missing that nice fluffy/creamy texture you expect from cafes.<br/><br/>Service was ok.<br/><br/>To be fair, my friend ordered a chicken salad which looked fab.<br/><br/>Feel like Frasers is trying to be something it's not...like an all day 'bistro'.
Marie Booth
The new Frasers looks amazing. However the service has got to chill. Owners if you want a restaurant make it a restaurant. As a cafe, we like to sit ourselves like we used to their, coffee can be a hit and miss unfortunately a girl with long dark hair is great, and today Wednesday I had a lovely latte from a little sweetie . Owners you have great staff, the blond guy manager is great, we just want the old cake selection cheese cakes and chilled service back. Everyone are saying the same things. Staff keep your friendly service!

Went here for brunch on a week day, so disappointed, wouldn't go back, food was average to say the least, the slow cooked pork belly, was pulled pork, looked like cat food and didn't taste much better, served on large chunks of bread, eggs bene were okay, potatoes weren't seasoned and bordered on cold, none of the bread on the eggs on toast came with butter, ordered extra hot drinks that arrived luke warm, we had to enquire where half our drinks were, the meals took almost an hour from ordering and it didn't seem that busy, the waiter hovered far too much until we ordered, which took some time as while he was lovely he didn't speak or understand English well, save yourself and go somewhere else.
Zachary Ong
I booked so I wouldn't know how waiting times are. Place wasn't very full (1 Jan 7:30pm) but as other reviews suggest it does get packed. Table service was adequate and the overall ambiance is more "hang out" than intimate IMO. <br/><br/>Dinner was sub-par, ordered the steak and it was cooked unevenly (I ordered med-rare and got some med-rare to some well) but the jus was good and rich. Unfortunately it wasn't served with rocket as I expected, but some very bitter greens (is it even rocket? not good with my greens...). The chips are fine but did get soggy and the onion rings were good. <br/><br/>Dessert was a choc cake with choc sauce on one side and brandy sauce on the other not to mention the ice cream and choc crisscross (for lack of word). It tasted good and the cake itself had a good fluffy moist texture. <br/><br/>With the cake I ordered a latte and it was very unimpressive, a surprise as all other times I've been here (albeit not for dinner service) the coffee has always been pretty good. The foam wasn't fine and was fairly bubbly. I'm not expecting a flat white microfoam but it was still too coarse for my liking. <br/><br/>Overall I wouldn't go here for dinner but more so any time other than dinner.

Very nice meal on Thursday night. We went early ish as we hadn't booked. Promptly seated and handed menus. Drinks ordered, good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Only mains ordered as we had probably had too much over the Christmas period anyway. Food was fantastic to say the least, the only thing that didn't get them a higher score was that you had to pay for your vegetable sides, will definitely go back again though.

excellent customer service<br/>great interior<br/>nice cake<br/>average coffee tho<br/>very relax <br/><br/>but it would be great if easier to find a parking.

After a one month hiatus, neighbourhood favourite Frasers has reopened in Mount Eden village. A much loved favourite of locals, they have had a stunning refurb carried out by the Two Right Group and now boast exposed brick walls, a slick bar area and a light and airy space. Open seven days a week from 6am to 11pm, this bustling local can cater for hungry Aucklanders at any time of day. Whether for a coffee before work, a slice of cake in the afternoon or a three course meal, Frasers has it covered.

Frasers, from reading other recent reviews, apparently have gone through a bit of a transformation and makeover. <br/><br/>They were very busy this morning but could still accommodate a table of 2. To soothe my weary tummy I requested a smoothie, unfortunately not a feature on the menu so it was an iced chocolate to kick things off! <br/><br/>We both ordered the slow cooked pork with poached eggs, kale, served on brioche. Mine, sans eggs but with creamy balsamic mushrooms instead. What I loved was the requested menu change didn't cost any extra even though a side of mushrooms costs $5 off the menu. <br/><br/>The food did take a long time to come out, people who were seated a good 10 min after us were well into their meals before we'd had a sniff.  I don't mind a wait, as long as the food is worth the wait, it was, but to have one of the FOH staff check in on us and advise that the food is not too far off would've put us at ease, we were at the point where we're wondering if our order had fallen through the gaps. <br/><br/>The dishes were superb. The pork soft and delicate, the toasted brioche creating the perfect bed, the fried Kale creating a snap and crackle to the dish. All this drizzled with a fine hollandaise, tickety boo! <br/><br/>We'll definitely visit Frasers again.

First time i have been back since the recent renovation. Been a customer for pretty much 16 years.<br/>First impression is i think it has lost its personal touch. Have worked in interior fit outs, building and design for a very good amount of time. The finishes, blue steel entrance, clean modern look, rectangular back bar shelving etc are very run of the mill. The original set up was disjointed but had a character, sad to say but fraisers just joined a real lack luster set of establishments. It may not make a difference but to myself and maybe a few others i feel they have lost their individual character and difference. Fit out is what we call "Meh" no individual character. There are a number or bars, restaurants with the same approach to interiors. Also did not enjoy being asked to move table for a larger party. Think you guys have lost sight of what made you a delight to go to. Maybe you will still make good money. But i feel you have lost your character. Just my opinion.

We had the NY cheesecake and chocolate mud cake along with a coffee and hot chocolate , it was all so divine ! Our fav hang out spot as its open till late night ;) it was closed for a while for renovations and we were like omg , where do we go now ? The customer service is awesome too ! Thanks guys ..

First visit after renovations and  went there just for their cheese cakes. There's nothing else like their New Yorke  style baked cheese cake. Creamy, cheesy &  super delicious. Loved the modern exterior and the ambience. Good place to go to soothe the late night desert carvings.<br/>Our go to place for Cakes & Coffee

Fraser is no longer "a slice of cake and a cuppa after dinner" place that we used to love after renovation. Few cakes in a sad lonely dessert cabinet is what we got to choose from. disappointed, a local cafe charm is no more. <br/><br/>they should remove the "popular for: the extensive collection of dessert" from this zomato page.
Frank Lin
This is a solid cafe and as many reviews below indicate, it is very busy. <br/><br/>This means that the food does take a while to get out to you. However, the staff are nice and keep you looked after. <br/><br/>As for the food, it is very nice. I got the Chicken Cajun Sandwich or whatever it was called. <br/><br/>The portion size was perfect, not too big or small. Of course, the food itself was nice. <br/><br/>This place was recently renovated and the ambiance is very nice.

We decided to visit Frasers yesterday for brunch after hearing good things about their newly-refurbished offering. Although the service was awesome (in particular our lovely waitress who was really attentive and smiley) we were left disappointed with the food and general atmosphere. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was that they'd tried to cram in as many tables as they could which made us feel like we were sitting on top of the tables next to us. We were seated in the corner so although we had a little more privacy, there was a hole in the floor which my partner's chair leg disappeared down! We ordered two flat whites and found it bizarre when my partner was asked if he wanted a double shot in his large flat white, as double is the standard for any size flat white that we've come across. When my regular sized one arrived (with spills all down the side) it was clear they'd only put a single shot in as it just tasted like milk - a bit cheeky as they're charging the same price as coffees normally go for, but putting less espresso in. I asked for it to be re-made with a double shot and the waitress politely sorted this out for me. I ordered poached eggs on toast with smashed avo, feta and basil. When it arrived, there was a measly amount of avo served in a shot glass on the side and no feta in sight. As well as being a rip off as they charge $5 for this tiny amount of avocado ($18.90 for the whole dish) it was a totally impractical way to serve it as I had to carefully remove my poached eggs from on top of the toast to put the avo on, and then put the poached eggs back on top. Both meals were almost cold as well. Although the new fit out and service was lovely, it feels like Frasers are trying to maximise their profits by cutting corners and packing in as many tables as possible, making it feel like a pretentious cafe and wine bar and a far cry from the friendly, casual and value for money place it used to be.

Had the Veal mains and was very disappointed, the soggy texture was off putting and the salad tasted like flour, water and butter. For me this $25 meal was something I'd expect for $8 from a fish n chip shop. My gf also had the risotto starter meal and it wasn't too impressive either. I don't like to post a bad review but sorry to say, these two meals were not worth it and we definitely won't be coming back.

It was go to place for us ...breakfast dessert and dinner. Look forward to have my favourite egg mushrooms omelette dissapointed not in the menu. Even the selection of desserts lesser ...glad the Irish Bailey cheesecake is in the cabinet. Portion is smaller less choice on the menu. ..looks like will be there for desserts only have to find another place for breakfast and dinner.

Was nervous about going here since the renovation as I hoped they hadn't lost the old Frasers charm. The decor is modern and very nice. They've made a great use of the space and exposed brick looks great. I was pleased to see my favorite barista there so I was guaranteed a good coffee and while the cups are nice it was small. I was desperate for big mocka bowl!!! The cheesecake counter was still present which was nice to see. I had the salmon benny for breakfast which was nice although maybe the potato galete was a little greasy. I left searching for more food so maybe I'd order a bigger breakfast next time :)
TeeDee
For over 10 years this was our go to place. We were lost when it closed for renovations. The food was always so reliably good and great portions. We went back this morning after the renovations, the interior looks great but it's lost that cramped charm of the old Frasers. The menu has changed... not in a good way and the servings are tiny. Even the quality of the food has taken a nose dive. Perhaps to pay for the renovations. Disappointed is an understatement.
Wanny
I've been here a couple of times and really enjoy their cakes and bagels. Today my friend and I decided to revisit Frasers after their renovation and this time we came here for lunch. I ordered the duck salad with beetroot which comes either in a small or large size. I ended up picking the larger size. I liked it how they have put two syringes to make the dish look aesthetic. One is filled with oil and the other filled with a sweet and sour dressing. This was useful as it allowed us to squeeze the amount of dressing we desire onto our salad. Although I chose the larger portion, it wasn't worth it as after eating it I was still hungry and was desperately looking for other food items in their food cabinet.<br/><br/>Overall experience, I loved the new atmosphere especially the interior design as it is more spacious. For now, I'll just stick with their cakes and coffees.

Having grown up in Epsom/Mt Eden Frasers has been a local classic. It's a great place to go too with friends and family on the weekend and the service has always been great. Big fan of their Frappuccinos.
Bhavya
Came here over the weekend for breakfast - I had the avocado, basil and tomato bagel and the African Autumn tea. The bagel was a disappointment, but the tea was nice

Met 3 locals and all of them recommended Frasers on all 3 separate occasions. Sure as heck had to check it out myself. Ordered my usual trim latte and yums, it was good!! Paired it with cheese scone - with an option of warming it up or have it toasted, i chose the latter. It was sooooo good! Banana caramel cake was nice but alil too sweet for my liking. Heard they are due for renovations from 31st Aug. Hope to be back soon!

Have always heard good stuff about this place and always wanted to try it. Finally managed to squeeze in here on a Friday night for dessert. <br/><br/>Me and my friend ordered a cheesecake from their cabinet. And I normally don't order cheesecakes cos they're quite a bit portion/slice and it's always too sweet. But I decided to go for it this time. And oh my life it was amazing! Both mine and my friends cheesecakes! Not too sweet. Just right and the flavours and textures were AH-MAZING. So satisfying. <br/><br/>Definitely will be back for more!! 😍 and to try other things on their menu!
Kirsten
Another popular cafe down in Mt Eden, so I decided to come here for a try. My friend and I both ordered a regular mocha, and we couldn't decide on the cakes because they all looked so good! We ended up getting a slice of their Bailey's cheesecake and their Chocolate Mousse cake. We both shared each slice, and our stomachs were so bloated by the time we were done eating. Their cakes are pretty pricey, but it was so worth it. The price you pay, is the expected quality and taste you receive. The mocha itself was perfect, served with two marshmallows. I could taste both chocolate and coffee, so no problems there. Overall, very satisfied. I'd come back here again to try their other cakes.
Chris Anthony
Frasers is very consistent and haven't had any bad experiences here. Staff have been helpful with the menu and the food is tasty and presented well.<br/><br/>They make a delicious Cajun chicken sandwich which makes the perfect lunch or something to fill a gap during the day. If you are a regular customer they might even share their secret menu!<br/><br/>Coffee is excellent and has no bitter aftertaste. It is so good I usually order another one even when I'm trying to cut down on coffee consumption!
Essi
Nice place and service. Good cheesecake and coffee. Nothing special but better than average. Very good opening hours! So very good place to  meet friends after work!
Charlene Weaver
I only know this place because of their famous banoffee pie! Personally, I find it average, but probably only because its not one of my favourite desserts. <br/><br/>I did really enjoy the Tiramisu with a smooth creamy custard in it. It's definately a great spot to grab a late night coffee, hot chocolate or cake/slice as they are open till 11pm.
Arpita Mandal
A really really busy and peppy cafe. It is good for group of people only not a quite coffee place to hang around.<br/><br/>Customer service is prompt but not that great. Came for just some coffee and cake. Wasn't too great for a next visit.<br/><br/>It looked quite popular from outside with too many people seated... so went in for a casual try.<br/>

Frasers is my favorite desert place everrrrrrrr. <br/>I've come twice after dinner and it is always super busy but I have always managed to get a table both times! Staff are super lovely but more importantly, the cheesecake is the best I have ever had. My favorite would would probably be the banoffee one but I love them all! They are pretty generous portions so I usually share a couple with a group. <br/>Really should try their food one day!
Adeline
The mains were good but there wasnt many fries...the mousse cake was good- interesting flavours as the base was a cake rather than a biscuity base. The meringue was good but the curd was too sour. Will try their other desserts next time.
Rachel Sun
I live fairly close to Mt Eden village so Frasers is an obvious choice for after dinner dessert. Over the years I've tried almost all of the cakes. My favourite would have to be the White chocolate Plum cheesecake. It's the perfect blend between fruity and creamy, and it's not too sweet which a love. The chocolate mousse is also amazing, a light fluffy mousse on top of a thin layer of cake. Get a side of whipped cream and it's the perfect treat.<br/><br/>*Edit : 09/06/16: tried the banoffee pie. So delicious, i can see why it's famous.

What has happened to the wonderful coffees that used to be served here? It had been months since we stopped by for a coffee fix after a challenging walk up the Mountain and we saw some vacant tables and wandered in. The Date Scone was fine, but not exceptional. My Long Black Coffee was watery and came served in a cappuccino style cup. It went cold very quickly and was very weak. I mentioned to the waitress that in my experience usually Long Blacks are served in a smaller Tulip style cup which seems to retain the heat better. She explained that they are always served in the larger cups at Frasers. This was not the case when we last had coffees here. I told her that my coffee was weak and cold and she did not offer to replace it. Disappointing all round.

Women LOOOOOVE this place...I don't get the hype...they say it's the banoffee cake..I find it alright, don't  have much of a sweet tooth.<br/><br/>I like sitting outside when I'm at a cafe.. but the seats outside this one is prone to lots of traffic meters are being by the intersection.<br/><br/>Food Quality: 3.5/5<br/><br/>Food Quantity: 4/5<br/><br/>Environment: 3/5<br/><br/>Wait time: 4/5<br/><br/>Price Range: $20pp

I came here with my family last night for Easter Monday dessert. Prior to that I had come here a few Saturday's ago with some friends. A cosy corner cafe in Mt Eden, with humble and homely decor - namely, pictures of house pets on the wall. Usually busy but by chance there seems to be at least one table always available. <br/><br/>I have tried a mixture of their desserts, mainly from the cabinet, such as the banana/toffee cake, mango/passionfruit/Malibu cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake, and lemon tart. My hands down absolute favourite is the white chocolate and cookie cheesecake.. I literally drive all the way here just to buy a slice of this cheesecake sometimes. The more average cakes would be the mango cheesecake, with a gelatinous, stiff texture, as well as that, the coffees are terribly small. But again, who cares about anything else when you have one kick ass cheesecake to offer! <br/><br/>Definitely definitely come by to at least try the White chocolate cheesecake.. You will not be disappointed!
Yoda
Fantastic cakes! Open late! Also serve good meals but most of the patrons seem to be there for the cakes & desserts. The tallest lemon meringue tart I've ever had the pleasure to eat & they also do a proper baked cheesecake - yum.
ShoRt
This is the only cafe I know that opens all day until night time! Perfect for a mid day catch up or a night time dessert catch up. <br/><br/>I would recommend the bailey's cheesecake or the New York baked cheesecake (if you like it cheesy!). I have also tried the vanilla bean doughnut and is delicious. <br/><br/>For me, Coffee here is average, but Service is really friendly and with all the other pros, it's a great place.
Hayley Powell
Came in for a slice of cheesecake and omg it was the best!! We ordered the baileys cheesecake and it was just the bomb. It was perfectly cooked and the baileys came through perfectly! Will be returning for more!!
Rojas
Some of the best cheesecakes in auckland! Love their New York style cheesecake as it perfectly combined the right amount of lemon zest, creaminess with a mildly tart undertone. It can get quite packed at times especially around lunch and dinner but on the plus side it is opened quite late for a cafe. Well worth a visit for the cheesecakes alone.
Greg
Stopped by for afternoon cake and Tea...<br/>Frasers is best known for great cakes and desserts..I love coffee ( but not from frasers anymore), the staff cannot make a decent flat white as they don't seem to have Baristas that know what they are doing..<br/>The coffee is often served bitter and watery even after I requested to make another politely..<br/>A shame really .. So it's tea and scones again!!<br/>I really don't know why the Management can't pay attention and make this cafe really good!!

This place is great for late night coffees and sweets. We have gone there for years and we particularly enjoy their fruit bowl. Recently however, they have consistantly told us they can not do the fruit bowl (no reason was provided- just sounded like the chef couldnt be bothered). We collected two fruit "bowls" this sunday which contained brown bananas, one slice of pear, two pieces of pineapple, two pieces of limp watermelon, one slice of orange and half a grape. It was also just half the usual quantity but got charged full price. Very disappointing.

The best American original cheese cake shop in AKL. Feel good taste and happiness with every bite. Stake dish was not as wonderful as the cheese cakes, but also tasty.
Michelle
They open late which is convenient if you're having late night cravings for dessert. It has a casual atmosphere so walk-ins are welcome as long as you can find a seat in this bustling restaurant on the corner. We tried the sticky date cake and rich fix (chocolate cake) which was incredible, desserts are also on display for takeaway if you're on the go. The hot drinks were fine, service was great. We will be back there soon 😊

Frasers has been in the same location for many years & continues to be extremely popular. They have cabinet options as well as a varied menu opening for breakfast lunch & dinner. When visiting, be prepared to wait for some time particularly if you want a table inside. They are great for desserts though & less busy after dinner generally.<br/>Have tried much of the menu over the years with a favourite being the Paleo Moroccan salad - delicious balance of flavours. Haven't really ever had a bad meal there. Portions are very decent for the price so you won't go hungry, although it you want to try one of their delicious cakes or slices I would suggest the chicken or beef salad is a good choice to start or you won't have room.<br/>Today we had dinner elsewhere & decided to pop in for a sweet treat. We ordered a pistachio yoyo, cookies & cream cheesecake & banoffee pie. The cheesecake & banoffee were yum although very large portions & rich. Good for sharing. Also ordered a latte which was made well & the apple & rhubarb pie. The pie was possibly ordered in, but was served hot with rhubarb, custard & ice cream on the side. Yummy & great presentation. <br/>You can really see why they've been around so long & continue to be popular. Only suggestion would be that an upgrade to the tired decor would be a nice change.

Best Banoffee and New York Cheesecake I've had!! Love the coffee too!! They close pretty late compared to other cafés. Can be a bit crowded and noisy (but who cares) the cakes are fantastic!

After so many stories about their cheesecake finally paid a visit<br/>It's located close to all the famous mt eden cafes such as olaf and garden shed etc<br/>Their NY baked cheesecake was by far my favorite but their banoffee was also delicious. So is their chocolate mousse cake, the base is divine.<br/>Good price for portion and will definitely visit!<br/>Lovely place<br/>Can be quite busy though + parking can be a pain but now apparently they have their own parking place !!!<br/>Great service too felt very welcomed <br/><br/>The lady at the counter is is a bit stroppy and unfriendly but the guy who packed our takeaway cakes was so nice! Thank you :)
Food 24/7
Usually this place is packed and hard to get a table, luckily it was semi quiet today so we sat down for our cake <br/><br/>We had the Bailey cheese cake and banoffee cake to share. yum, decent portion, slightly pricey tho.

Love their cheesecake especially banoffee pie!! Makes me eat more all the time! They are always full so full when I go there. Want to try the meals not just cakes!

I am on a quest to find the best cheesecake in Auckland. I loved Frasers NY cheesecake with the Greek yoghurt that comes with the cake. It has a thick base with a lemony but slightly sour taste because of the cheese. I frequently visit Frasers and notice how crowded and busy it always is. My rating for Frasers NY cheesecake: 9/10.
Spencer's Reviews
Had desserts there and honestly I can say I will be back. So many wonderful yummy options. Tried the Banoffee pie and fell in love. Very busy which is great for the business. Service was friendly and great, a little slow but still loved the place after trying it for the first time.

Popped in this local Mt Eden favourite for an afternoon pick me up. <br/><br/>The iced coffee with ice cream and cinnamon created a creamy and slightly spicy taste. A great way to recharge on a hot summer day! <br/><br/>The baked NY cheesecake was rich but a bit crumbly in texture. The base was a bit hard to cut into. The accompanying yoghurt was great to cut through the richness. They have a whole range of cheesecakes on offer to satisfy your sweet cravings. Personal favourite is still their banoffee pie. <br/><br/>Their coffee is always great. <br/><br/>Service is quick and efficient. Not a place to hang around though, it's always bustling.

Does anyone come here and NOT order a cake? I've never had anything except cakes from here but you guys still deserve the high rating as your sweet treats are amazing!!! <br/><br/>Love coming here on cold evenings and having a hot chocolate and a piece of cake. It is literally always busy and such a good atmosphere. <br/><br/>Lady who is always at the counter is rude and stroppy but whatever! Desserts are too good to care!
JJJiiiiAn
We ordered 3 nice-looking cakes from the cabinet. But none of them taste nice sorry. I really couldn't taste any Baileys from my Baileys cheese cake..
Mat
Today, we literally came here for cake. I ordered a mocha and thought it was delicious. I like how they sprinkled real chocolate pieces on top of my drink- mmm! I ordered the banoffee slice and my brother ordered the mango one. Although both slices looked amazing, the banoffee slice out shined the mango one. I'll definitely be back to try out more slices of cake.

Most Cafes have an all day breakfast and lunch menu, and it was disappointing that Frasers didn't do that. They're night menu was not as appealing, only one thing caught my eye and that was the noodles. The noodles were tasty. The service was friendly, and the food came out fast so that is a good thing. The cakes in the cabinet look like the slice is going to be pretty big but when you actually get the piece it isn't as big, but still delicious.
Temptation Cakes Auckland
I worked here for 7 yrs when I was still cheffing always a great menu with gteat thought behind it cakes to die for I still make the banoffee for friends and family totally to die for highly recommend

Frasers never let me down when I need a good coffee. Ive never had a meal at this place, but I am pretty sure I will try sometime soon :-) **after 8pm is always full.
Lois
I was been there like 3 times before, if u ask me what make me so impressive,I'll say it is all about the sweet. Yeah. I love the cakes them made. That is the best cakes I ever had. Always have space for desserts, cos desserts is going to the heart.

Went to frasers for the first time today for brunch and coffee.<br/>I expected to be a really good cafe since I always see heaps of people there. <br/>I ordered a coffee and eggs Benny and my partner ordered a chai and big breakfast. Coffee was really good( I think I liked their coffee blend) but the food looked like it was just something you can make at home. Nothing spectacular about it so I probably won't go there for food but I would like to try their desserts some time:) nothing much to say about the staff cause they were busy and I understand cause I'm a waitress too:)
Mandy
Very popular cafe among many in Mt Eden<br/><br/>Like most people, I've heard a lot about Frasers so we decided to try it out on a busy Friday night. We managed to get there quite early, around 7pm and got a nice little seat by the window. My sister ordered The Fix which is on their dessert menu, I ordered the Chocolate Mousse and my friend ordered the New York Cheesecake. Service was pretty fast and efficient, the ladies were very nice and directed me to the bathroom at the back of the cafe which is hidden away. They have self service water with cups on the counter.<br/><br/>The Chocolate Mousse was really delicious. Although it was quite sweet, the cream balanced it out. It isn't the best I've had but it was still really tasty and smooth. My friend enjoyed the cheesecake but he felt there was nothing special about it. My sister also enjoyed The Fix, it was also quite rich but quite tasty with the baileys sauce. It was a little too much for her to finish so it's best to share if you decide to get it. <br/><br/>Pictures:<br/>- Chocolate Mousse with cream ($7.90)<br/>- New York Cheesecake with cream ($7.90)<br/>- The Fix; chocolate cake with chocolate sauce, baileys sauce and vanilla ice cream ($13.50)<br/><br/>All in all, a very enjoyable experience at Frasers. The cakes were really tasty and we definitely enjoyed dining there. We felt the cakes were a little rich for us but with some water, it balances it out. The cafe wasn't too noisy and we were able to speak at a decent volume. I can understand the appeal and I would definitely come back to try a different dessert so I've heard such good things about them.

This place is always crowded and hence decided to try it. We ordered two cappuccinos and one flat white with some cake from the counter. The cake was good and the flat white was how it should be. The cappuccinos however were mediocre. Our order was a basic one and unfortunately the drinks were not that warm which is a massive turn down for me personally.<br/>I'll come back here to try it again because of the reputation and their friendly staff but if the quality of the drinks is the same again.. then it would be my last time here.
Rahul Bannai
Came here for a cup of coffee and it's too good!<br/>These guys make the best cappuccino and mocha! And service is just too good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ridad
We went to Frasers for dinner (which was probably not the best idea). The dinner menu is quite extensive for a cafe. However food was very disappointing. We tried the fish and chips, chicken schnitzel and souvlaki. The souvlaki was the best of the lot. We tried the famous banofee cake and the chocolate mouse. Both were good but nothing amazing.
Shanshan
cake!! yes, you must order a cake here. it taste really good. heard this place from a friend, said there cake is very good. <br/>been here a couple of times at night, its always busy
Joli Toh
Awesome place with great food. Love their cakes, especially their banoffee pie and the home baked cheese cake. The place runs late at night which makes it a great place for supper and place to catch up with friends!
Eggster Eats
I really enjoyed Frasers Cafe and since it was the first time I've been here, I ordered the Baileys Irish Cheesecake, Chocolate Mousse and a hot chocolate (I don't enjoy drinking coffee). I really liked both of the meals but it was quite fulling. The hot chocolate was okay, not as great as Orvieto. I think this was a great first experience. Really liked the food.
Vivian Cheng
One of my favourite places to get dessert! Although you may need to wait for a table most of the time, it is definitely worth the wait. We have tried most of their cabinet desserts and they are all amazing. They also do great coffees. The staff are great too! :)
A
Always come here for the best ugly bagels and a coffee in the mornings. It's always too packed in the evenings when we try to get dessert! The worst thing is competing for a table with yoga moms. If you like to see cute mini dogs there's always a few outside. #dogsofinstagram <br/>
Laura M
Cakes looked amazing and tasted just as good! Loved the Bailey's cheesecake and Banoffee pie. Staff were friendly, and nice atmosphere. Would definitely go again!

Came for late night dessert at Frasers with friends to see what the hype was about! My friend was highly praising their banoffee cake so I got that. The rest ordered the white chocolate cookies and cream cheesecake, the sticky date cake and "the fix" which is their chocolate cake with Bailey sauce. Since I wanted to balance this influx of sweet with savoury (I'm more of a savoury person), I ordered their potato koftas as well.<br/><br/>The banoffee was heavenly! I see why they are famous for it. The toffee in the cake was the right amount of sticky, the banana part and the cream cheese on top just went all together perfectly. I keep lightly touching the top of the cake because despite it being cheese, the texture was bouncy... I just knew right away it was going to be a great slice of cake. <br/><br/>The white chocolate cookies and cream cheesecake was good also but I don't have much more praise for it- didn't really stand out much. Same goes for their chocolate cake, which although was very moist and soft , had nothing too special about it... It would definitely still satisfy that chocolate cake crave though (it was massive and had that sauce and ice cream combo going on) if you had one. <br/><br/>The sticky date cake was exceptional. It came out warm and had this chewiness to it. Paired with the vanilla bean ice cream, it was great! Was a good experience, the place has a buzzing vibe filled with chatter as it was a small place but clearly very popular. Will definitely return!

Went here as part of a group of 5 on a Sunday. While the food was good, and service  ladies were great, there was one particular waiter who ruined the entire experience by deciding that we didn't need two tables while I was up waiting to order my food, when we had clearly stated we had 5 people and one table will only just seat 4 comfortably. Will not be returning as I found this the absolute height of rudeness. This display suggests they only interested in money grabbing and not in the comfort of their customers. I might suggest to the team that they remove 1/4 of the tables inside and focus on customer comfort and satisfaction, not quantity of customers through the door.
Daniel Chiou
What a fantastic spot, associated with many late night catch ups over a coffee and cake. Always busy, but friendly staff and awesome vibe. <br/><br/>The cabinet selection is superb and consistent.
Anna Allport
A classic little cafe in the heart of Mt Eden. I came here for all press coffee. The coffe was nice but defiantly not the best j have ever had. Slightly bitter. The cakes and baking looks delightful
Helena Chen
A favourite in Mt Eden for their amazing cabinet desserts and late night hours. I've been here only a couple of times, but have enjoyed every visit. The interior is cozy and warm (especially inviting during winter) , although it can be a bit cramped when they're busy. <br/><br/>I have tried their banoffee pie with a coffee, and they just went so well together. The pie wasn't too expensive, and had the classic banoffee flavour that I would definitely repurchase. The serving size is also pretty massive for the price! Definitely keen to come back for another visit soon to try something else :)
Cynthia Vanisha Paul
What a great ambiance and warmth!<br/>There was always people around and the food was amazing.<br/>I had a lamb shank and the meat was juicy. What a combo of mash potatoes and peas.<br/>Also make sure to have an iced mocca with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and marshmallows!

This place does outstanding coffee. There is just no where else is Auckland I'd rather go for coffee and cake. The atmosphere is always relaxed even though they're always packed. Their Brunch menu has some decadent treats. Their dinner menu is a tad pricey but the food is good quality café food. Creme Brûlee here is delicious as well. I love this place, I'd recommend it to anyone!
Paul Evans
This has got to be one of the busiest cafes in Auckland...packed 7 nights a week until super late...for as long as I can remember. <br/><br/>Their menu isn't outstanding, but you don't come to Frasers for that...you come for coffee and CAKE!<br/><br/>The cakes are so good, especially the baked cheesecake, carrot cake, upbeet cake and the quirky banoffee pie. The coffee is always perfect!<br/><br/>Oh and the lemon tart too! 💚💚💚
Melissa
Came to Frasers on a Saturday with family and my goodness was it packed! But we were lucky and managed to grab the last table for 4!<br/><br/>I ordered the burrito because I forgot what it tasted like when I came here a few years ago with my friend and also a chocolate cake.<br/><br/>Wasnt a fan of the meals but the chocolate cake was divine! I would go back just to try it again. The staff are friendly and the wait for food wasnt very long despite how many people there were :)
Annie Bananie
Always bustling and busy this place has a great selection of cakes! Although none of them have been to die for yet. Their creme brulee has a nice crack too it and not too sweet
Anna
Tried this place for dessert after being recommended by two colleagues. Unfortunately I didn't see all the hype as I drove up specifically from the other side of the bridge. We had the famous banoffee cheesecake. I found the top part a little too creamy but enjoyed the base. My boyfriend ordered the apple pie which I found quite sour, but also has a great base. I guess this is personal preference but I would go again if I was in the neighbourhood but I don't think I'll be making such a long trip for the visit. The breakfast looked like a great menu so could be worth a try.
Sukriti Bhatnagar
Cozy, comfortable and familiar! Great to drop by for desserts. Sampled the banoffee pie and lemon tart. Unbelievable! Best banoffee in Mt Eden and that's big.

F's is a fave of ours for take out coffee whenever we're off on a long ride somewhere, it's a bit of an institution and I can't remember it NOT being there on the corner. Hot tip, try their NY cheesecake. It's amazing w. one of their hot brews.
Heidi
An old classic in Mt Eden. A common spot to catch up with friends. Seriously good coffees. Mocha is my regular here and it impresses me everytime. Recently tried their bagels here and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Delicious breakfast. Love coming here ☕🍴
Shelly
Came here on a busy Sunday afternoon for coffee and brunch! I had a HUGE portion! My iced latte was average, but my food was amazing! Everyone else on my table also enjoyed their food!
Alex Kay
Frasers has amazing coffee and cakes. Presentation is lovely and brilliant staff. Food was delicious and worth every cent spent! The breakfast menu had so much to offer and the big breakfast was full of amazing flavours!
Rico Chen
Banoffee is my favorite and I tried black Forrest this time. The cream that comes with it actually surprised me. It's not heavy at all and I could have it by itself!!! The cake also tastes great no doubt. Fraser never fails to amaze me. One of my favorite dessert places in Auckland!
Jess
Frasers is always good. The selection of homemade cakes at this place is like no where else in Auckland and the coffee is top notch. The brioche donut is a major highlight but only available on selected days. Frasers is usually always packed which in my opinion can only mean good things.
Krn
Best New York Style cheesecake ever 😍 Chocolate mousse was so light it just melts in your mouth 😋 Definitely a must try when you're in Mt Eden
Candii Cao
Perfect place for coffee and cake. This little place in Mt Eden is always busy but after all these years they have kept the quality of their cakes top notch. The smoothie is delicious too. Main meals are above average but i tend to come here for cakes more than anything.
Priscilla Chew
I am not surprised why this place is so popular - it's great to hang out here for coffee and cakes, or to have a quick meal.<br/><br/>For meals, I would recommend their fish & chips. And it is healthier than your usual fish & chips, because they come with sweet potato fries, which appear to be oven-baked. The fish is also yummy, soft and moist.<br/><br/>For dessert, the banana cake is good - and I especially like the caramel flavoured cream on the top. <br/><br/>The creme brûlée is yummy but slightly sweet at the same time and the tiramisu, is very rich, creamy - and sinfully tasty. #Challenge

The best banoffee pie I've ever tasted. Coffee could be much hotter to my liking, though. And the service was pretty poor, in my opinion. We sat at our table, assuming we would be attended to. However, I eventually got up and grab the menu from the counter. And on the menu, in very small print, it was stated that all orders should be placed and paid for at the counter. It would be better if someone could properly wait the tables. Or even if Frasers could have a sign at the counter saying "place your order here". Just a suggestion...
Miss Kiki
Really felt like cake today so thought I would try Fraser's. I don't often come to Mt Eden unless it's Dominion road.<br/>I ordered the New York Cheesecake while my dining companion had the Banoffee pie.<br/>Both were delicious, especially the NY cheesecake. Will definitely be back to try other items in the cabinet.
Nitya Lakshmanan
This cafe is a definite must go to especially for their cakes. Best banoffee pie I've ever had. The base is really biscuity and as soon as you take the first bite it just melts in your mouth.

<br/><br/>It was my first time at Frasers. My friend had to bring me here and she has been telling me how good their cakes are for a long time now.<br/><br/>We came here for cakes and coffee in the evening around 8pm. The place is quite small and it was packed. All tables were taken (although we were lucky enough to get a table thanks to baby bumps), and there was a long line at the counter and on top of that, people were keep coming in through the door - it was hectic!<br/><br/>First thing's first; their seating arrangements don't do anybody a justice, especially when they are busy and packed. The gaps between each table are so narrow which requires you to squeeze your way through, resulting in a quite a few "Excuse me."s and "Sorry."s as you make your way to your table.<br/><br/>Putting that aside, the cakes were just exquisite. I'm currently not much of a sweet-tooth (although I can be) and their cakes I find have the perfect sweetness for me.<br/><br/>We ordered the New York Baked Cheesecake, Banoffee Pie and Hot Chocolate. The NY Baked Cheesecake is full of flavour that grabs onto the palate, and the Banoffee Pie is soft and even creamy. Because of the mild sweetness of the cakes, it's not too heavy as a dessert and so I was pleasantly filled. I'm sure I will pop in again for their cakes as they've started to linger in my head.<br/><br/>

This is a nice place with good ambience. The dessert counter is filled with many interesting items. Will go again in future to have dessert.

Quaint little place in Mt Eden. Good place for a brunch date or to meet up with friends. Eggs were cooked nicely. Friendly staff. Not a bad morning out
Annie Ren
Tried it for the first time for a scrumptious lunch, absolutely loved the food! Service was quite good too and the food was served quickly. Had the creamy mushroom on sour dough toast and really enjoyed it. The sauce was rich and creamy and the mushrooms tasted perfect with a slab of butter!<br/><br/>Fraser's is a must do for desserts! We come back again and again for their NY cheesecake :)

I had heard tales of Frasers and had been interested to see what it was about this place that made it such a hot spot in Mt Eden. Inside has plenty of tables which makes it slightly cramped but that means that there's more seating available for everyone so I'm not complaining. Their cakes were on display at the counter in full glory with such appetising flavours that made it hard to choose but in the end, we settled on the carrot cake and a hot drink each.<br/><br/> I found the carrot cake quite average, it was soft yes, but not very moist perhaps due to being in the fridge all day. Flavour wise, it had the right amount of sweetness but was lacking in an extra oomph to make it stand out from all the other carrot cakes I've tried. <br/><br/>The chai latte I ordered was quite nice, a little more on the spicy side but would have been nicer if it was hotter (why do cafes insist on serving their drinks lukewarm??). Perhaps I should have ordered their cheesecakes instead so I'll come back to give it another try.<br/><br/>Sarah Reynolds #challenge

Growing up in mt Eden Frasers has always been on the corner in the village. For years going to Frasers for cake and coffee was an ultimate treat! <br/>I haven't been there for a while so decided to pop in for a before work breakfast. I had the French toast with berry coulis, fruit and maple syrup and a flat white. <br/>It was nice and a perfect start for the morning.
Edmond Shen
One of my favourite cafes in Mt Eden village. Great service, great atmosphere and envelops you in a pocket of warmth during winter. The coffee is definitely above average and served at a good temperature. They also do an amazing New York Styled Baked Cheesecake that I keep coming back for. Absolutely recommend you check them out if you are in the area.
Donna&Shane
A very popular cafe.... Like others though we did find it very full and a bit cramped sitting in here.....<br/>But the food was very enjoyable and worth trying if you are in the area.
Gentlepig
A delightfully cheery Cafe that caters to those whom are after a late night sugar fix. Always full, and such is the testament to it's consistent excellency. Relatively affordable for the portion size, but you get more quantity than quality; some of the creations are too sugary for my liking but generally well done. If you're a light eater, the portions are enough to count as dinner.
Gianina Castro
Their New York cheesecake is a must! But all their other cakes are quite nice too. <br/><br/>But it's always so packed, so it's quite hard to find a place to sit and chat.
Chin And Prony Powichitkul
Cakes were good. Coffee were okay. Really nice set up to the restaurant but a bit too crammed for my liking. My back was literally touching another person's back from another table. A bit hard to talk to your friends cos it gets so noisy in there that you can't hear yourself. Maybe not put so many tables out so much and it should be a nice little place to have coffee, for now.. too crammed.
Aniva Huang
Frasers has the best New York cheesecake and "upbeet" chocolate cake!<br/><br/>I love how they close late so it's a cute place to go for tea and cakes after dinner. That late night gossip ya know
Kellie Lee
One thing I love about Frasers is the ambiance of the actual cafe and how it's pretty much the only cafe you can find that's opened after 5pm :(<br/>Came here with my family for some birthday dessert treats after a huge meal at Ebisu, and as usual the cafe was packed. But with luck on our side, a family got up and we rushed to grab a seat.<br/><br/>I had pretty high expectations of Frasers as I had heard many amazing things about their cakes and desserts, and I can say that these rumours were pretty accurate. We had ordered The Fix and the sticky date pudding and a couple of coffees. Lets start with the good things, the pudding OMGOODNESS it was delicious! lovely and moist and not too sickly sweet, it was my favourite of the two. The Fix was amazing too; a warm chocolate cake with hot chocolate sauce yum! what else could you ask for on a winters night.<br/>The Bad stuff: The coffee! I had ordered a soy chai latte extra hot and had to send it back twice in total, the first time being because it was way too cold and the second time because I could tell they had remade it with normal milk. The third cup was quite disappointing too as it was extremely flavourless and the milk was not frothed properly. <br/><br/>Overall, Frasers is a nice place to come for some yummy desserts, I had heard their cheesecakes were to die for and would come back to try these! however, was quite disappointed with the barista skills but maybe they were just having a bad day haha.<br/>Reccomended dish: The Fix and the sticky date pudding!
Melissa Chai
Went here for a late night hot chocolate, a little too much crema and not enough hot chocolate but nice presentation! Was on the pricey side but no problems with the taste 👍🏻
Fairy-Anne Glenn Guiang
The place is very inviting though it's crowded. It doesn't intimidate like other cafés. I ordered Hokkien Noodle, BBQ chicken and Asian greens and it was amazing. I was not expecting that in a cafe but it was a good surprise. My partner ordered Fish & Chips and it is equally amazing. The Kumara Chips take it to a different level. <br/>The service is OK. I don't really expect fine dine service in a cafe but the staff is upbeat and quite welcoming.<br/>The parking is quite difficult because you need to go the opposite side to get one and they only have less than 5 parking spot in the back..It is not biggie since parking is generally hard in Auckland.<br/>Over all the experience is excellent and I will definitely go back for the same dish!
Mueslilo
Long time fan for approx 5 years. Used to be a firm fav for cakes and slices but always seems to be exactly the same ..... would be keen to come back if some new cabinet items appeared ....

Morning hangovers perfect fix is a good brunch place. Frasers is a great fix. Usually go here for desserts and coffee catch ups! Came here for a brunch after a great night out and it was a success. I got the vegetarian breakfast with hash brown and spinach and a poached egg, and he got the eggs bene with salmon. Everything cooked perfectly and delicious! Ill be back
Hungry Hippo
Love frasers! Although this shop is always packed! It is definitely worth th wait. I always go for dessert, which I find th cakes are overly sweet! Thanks banoffee pie and bailey's cheesecake is a must try! Don't think you'll find anything quite like it in other shops. This cafe opens till very late at night, so its always good for a late-night catch up with friends. The cake which they serve isn't overly sweet so it doesnt get very sickening.
Table For One
Frasers is a favourite of mine and somewhere that I always take visitors to Auckland.<br/>Partly because of the cosy atmosphere, partly because of the souvlakis (which are hard to find in the North Island, they are different to kebabs team) and mainly because of the sweet treats.<br/>Some of the best cabinet options are the bread and butter pudding, banoffee pie and baileys cheesecake.<br/>This place can get quite packed, but the hustle and bustle is worth it.
Tarcísio Pinhate
Decided to go with Frasers with my roommate for a dessert fix. I decided to go for a Bailey's cheesecake and a flat white, and quite liked it. I think the best of Frasers is its atmosphere: the place is very cozy.
Shannon T
For me this place was great but a little so-so. Everything was done to a high standard but the cafe could do with a little more umph. It's obviously extremely popular with the trendy, up-market types typical of Mt Eden and has the kind of prices to match. I fully enjoyed my frittata and the delicious chutney that came with it and the atmosphere was pleasant enough. The only thing letting it down is that it could do with a bit of uniqueness, some more character to make it a memorable place you want to go back to again and again! Otherwise good service, very friendly staff and a solid score.
Annette Wong
Such a large selection of desserts, cakes and mains. The point to brag is the atmosphere is awesome. Such a lovely comfy and warm vibe <br/><br/>My room mate and I had the baileys cheesecake and upbeet chocolate cake. The cheesecake was divine. Not enough chocolate in my opinion but the baileys came out nice and rich <br/><br/>The chocolate cake was a bit dry around the edges but soft and moist on the inside. Slightly disappointed at the density and the creamy rich chocolate taste wasnt quite there. I felt like it was a hybrid between a chocolate cake and an almost sponge cake<br/><br/>However the servings were more than generous <br/><br/>The hot chocolate was great <br/><br/>I would recommend this place for variety but probabily not the best cakeries i have been to
Grace Sifa
came here for a late breakfast.. the space seems cosy and we sat in the corner so we had a bit of space to ourselves as the tables in the main area are quite squashed together.. I ordered the usual flat white and mocha in a bowl and they came out reasonably quick considering how many people were inside.. the coffees were great .. my husband had the breakfast grill and I had the vegetarian breakfast which is gluten free .. really great food and my hash brown was delish even my baby loved it.. my husband had a yummy beetroot relish that came with his dish which I thought was really good and something different.. the parking is hard to get as it's right on the lights and the service was okay but I can see their are alot of gluten free options here which is great .. will go here again soon

Being a central auckland resident for the past 15 years - Frasers have been my family's "go to" place for dessert cakes for many years - having tried most of their cakes in the past years. I would definitely recommend the following 3 and would say are MUST haves if you like cakes:<br/>1) New york cheese cake <br/>2) Banoffee cheesecake<br/>3) Chocolate mousse cake<br/><br/>The only dessert they offer which I have never been too sure about is the lemon meringue, it is a big portion - about the size of hulk hogan's fist often with quite a solid pastry base, which i have rarely been able to consume fully.  <br/><br/>Overall however - All the other cakes are very very good
WeiTing Ashley Shyu
I've had better. The desserts are definitely delicious - but it is still quite pricey. My favourite dish would be the cheesecake. I am the biggest dessert fan, and it's just too plain for my liking. It doesn't have the WOW factor of a lot of other dessert places. <br/><br/>It's still a place people should definitely try though. The banoffee pie I've had from lone star was a lot nicer than this one. Also ironique down the road from Frasers, has cabinet desserts that are a lot more exciting. They taste even better than they look.
Mandy
Went to dinner with a friend and ordered the scotch while my friend had fish and chips. We both LOVED our meals (kinda wish I had more veges but the size of the steak was generous!) but I ordered two long blacks (one upon arrival and another after dinner) the first was smooth but the second was so bitter! I guess their coffees aren't consistent... But my friend loved the baileys cheesecake. At least your food is fuggin' badass!
Michael Exton
Me and my partner go here all the time! We love it for a quick and tasty dinner and a coffee. The menu is extensive so we have selection and we really enjoy the Paleo options available, however not .a lot of those on the evening menu. The kumara chips are definitely also a go to for us! The coffee is outstanding and they have a great selection of teas also. For dessert you can choose from cake or off the menu and we have slowly been working our way through it all and they are AMAZING struggle to find a bad point about cake at the best of times but these guys know how to do it. The service is ok. A bit slow and I feel disorganized but it is always really quite busy and I we have never had a stuff up with our order and always manages to find us eventually. Overall a very good experience and good place to eat for a cafe' style dinner with a restaurant twist.

I have been here so many times! It is my go to place for cake and coffee/tea. I almost always get their banoffee pie because it is the literally the best cake ever! It is delicious. They also have a good variety of cheesecake as well. <br/><br/>It's quite a small little cafe and the seats and tables are quite cramped but it's still super busy and the desserts are amazing! The service is also pretty good. <br/><br/>I know I'm going to be coming back here again. And again. And again.

1. Staff are always friendly regardless of the time of day<br/>2. Coffee is fab - the barista's clearly know what they are doing (especially when it comes to soy milk)<br/>3. Takeaway is always an option - even a container full of Thai pumpkin goodness soup with Warner Turkish bread <br/>4. Mains are a little pricy <br/>5. Watch the word go by in suburban Mt. Eden with a cuppa coffee and something from the kitchen

Stopped in here for a cake and coffee and enjoyed my experience. Cafe was busy and had an extensive menu so a huge variety to choose from. Cakes all looked delicious. We ordered the banoffee pie and the apricot crumble. The banoffee wasn't the best but the apricot crumble was delicious. Would definitely try breakfast next time.

One of my highly recommended place to go. At anytime of the day, If u feel like a meal, there's a meal. If u feel like coffee or tea , there's coffee or tea. If u feel like cheesecake, there's cheesecake. Nothing can beat this place :) <br/>And who would know? fish and kumara chips go well together!!

A very Middle eastern feel! This cafe is always busy, vibrating with customers! I quite enjoyed their salads! Very tasty with very evident Middle Eastern spice. Definitely not a disappointing meal but probably not one I would go back in a rush to.

Yet another Mt. Eden cafe. Back in the 90s this place was a Dr. Suess-themed cafe called Solla Sollew, featuring Dr. Suess murals on all the walls and really cool coffee cups printed with Suess drawings. I always wondered whether the estate of Theodor Geisel got wind and threatened legal action. Anyhoo - in its current guise as Frasiers it has become something of an Auckland cafe institution - a busy daytime cafe which also serves restaurant meals at night, and is open late enough the catch the coffee-and-a-slice-of-cake crowd too. The cooked meals are generally pretty good, and the cakes really shine - especially the banoffee pie, which really is exceptional.

I visited this place on the 3rd of March 2015. I ordered two pieces of cake (baileys cheesecake & frasers upbeet chocolate cake) and a drink. Two cakes tasted very good. It did go very well with the drink that I ordered. Soon later I felt something cold inside my mouth so I spitted it out. I found a little metal piece looks like a staple on my hand. I was very shocked and took it to the lady at counter. I explained to her what happened. The first thing she asked was "where did you find it? Which cake?" There wasn't any apologies. I was surprised by her attitude. And later a guy in a uniform came out from kitchen. I explained it to him as well. He asked me exactly the same question as the lady, "where did you find it? Which cake?" I told him I am not sure which cake I found it from because I had one bite each. Then he asked me “what do you want” I was very shocked. I was speechless due to their fantastic customer service. I just asked them for another cake. The lady asked me which cake I want it to be replaced. I again told the lady that I do not know which cake I found it from because I had one bite each. Later the lady brought me Baileys cheesecake. She put the cake down on the table and was about to leave without saying nothing. I stopped her and asked if she ever apologized to me for what happened. Then she said “we take this kind of thing quite seriously and hope you take this cake as our apology” And then she left. I was very unhappy because of the way she treated me. There was no genuineness just typical pretending apology. My friends was surprised too and she asked me what happened in details. While we were talking about what happened, there were some customers near us. The lady kept looking at us while she was serving other customers. 5 minutes later, she brought a chocolate cake in a takeaway box and left it on my table saying “you can have it if you want”. This made me more angry. I went up to the counter and gave them back the cakes. I told her all I wanted was just a genuine apology and maybe if things like this happens next time she should apologize to customers first rather than offering them a free cake to shut them off. The lady still asked me if I do not want the free cake. There was no point of me arguing because she obviously did not understand the intention of the conversation. I felt very embarrassed and felt sorry to my friend because it was her birthday on that day and I was the one who took her to this place. Guys, if you want to order some cheesecake from here, I recommend you to first dig up the cake if there is anything before you eat. Also it might be a good idea not going here especially on special occasion. I really regret for not taking the photos as an evidence for report. In general, nice taste of cake but the worst customer service ever plus seriously concerning about food safety.
Christine
Really busy place! Went for dessert and coffee and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and size. Banoffee pie was lovely because it was not overly sweet thanks to the huge cream/gelatine topping.

It's used to be a very nice place that we usually go every weekend. After the last redesign this place change completely.<br/><br/>In summary less cake options and horrible service and management. <br/><br/>Highly unlikely getting back.<br/><br/>---------------------------------------------------<br/><br/>This is place is a trend in Mount Eden that does not need introduction.<br/><br/>First time we came here was an indication by a friend. Since then, we never stopped coming back.<br/><br/>At a first sight it just looks a regular cafe like any other one. However, this place have 3 things I really like. First one is a wide variety of good cakes and food. Second, their service is really good even when the house is full. Third is availability, they are pretty much open all the time, holidays, Saturdays, Sundays until 11:00 pm.<br/><br/>I strong recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing time with great coffee and cakes on Mount Eden.

Fraser is famous for its dessert and cake, but this time I tried the main course. Nice taste and healthy. And I went there around 9pm, still a lot of customers, and the environment is like American cafe style, relax, lively.
Matt Jeng
Went for coffee and dessert. Now starting with the good. The tiramisu was amazing, just a tad pricey but otherwise a good dessert. Now the bad. The coffee that we had was burnt and over extruded
Jason
best cakes in Mt Eden hands down. Only draw back about this place is the cooked food. Really overpriced bacon and eggs mate but anyways this place is just known for the desserts and coffee. Banofees are still orgasmic.

Not sure if it's just me, but the cakes used to be worth stopping for, and taking home for dessert - but they now don't appear to taste the same - they still look good and taste good but maybe not excellent.  The menu is not so drool worthy - maybe just the days we went on - but you can still get a great coffee and good food, but I'm no longer excited about the food at Frasers.

We had lunch at Frasers in Eden Village yesterday.  There was a wide range of menu options available, and a nice selection of counter food.  After much deliberation we chose the Vegetarian Brekkie and the Moroccan Chicken Wrap.  The Vegetarian Brekkie (hash brown, spinach, garlic mushrooms, vine ripened tomato (1), poached egg (1) with hollandaise sauce) was simple but each item was of a high quality and delicious.  Our only quibble is that for the price ($18.90) there should have been multiple tomatoes and 2 eggs.  The Moroccan wrap (Harissa chicken, portobello mushroom, sundried tomato, Parmesan, zucchini, and toasted hazelnuts) with crisp apple and lettuce leaves, provided a great contrast in tastes and textures, and was substantial enough for a lunch at $17.50. The staff were attentive and the meals delivered in reasonable time.

We visited Frasers in Mt Eden Village last weekend for brunch, after being recommended by a friend. The first thing I notice is the mouth-watering display of gorgeous cakes by the counter - several types of cheesecakes, chocolate mousse, banoffee, oh, the list goes on. It was incredibly difficult to stop looking at them and decide what to have for mains without constantly thinking about dessert!<br/><br/>I ended up with the coconut crepes with summer fruits, yogurt, and macadamia praline ($17.50) which were, sadly, not very good. While the toppings were interesting, the crepes themselves were soggy and floury in texture. I found that I preferred the crepes at Le Garde Manger, La Fourchette, or Torchon, all of which come at a fraction of the price. The bf's breakfast grill ($23.90) was decent, especially the Toulouse sausage, but also rather average for the price.<br/><br/>But the cake! It was absolutely divine. :) We shared a Baileys cheesecake ($7.50), which was heavenly - subtle but distinct flavours and not too sweet, with a smooth creamy texture and swirls of chocolate mixed within. Definitely one of the better cheesecakes I've had. They also serve Harney and Sons tea, including my favourite pomegranate oolong flavour.<br/><br/>Would I return? Probably not for brunch. But yes, certainly and overwhelmingly yes, for dessert.

I seldom get to Mt Eden village now as thus was more common when I went to the footy. Frasers has a corner building so light comes in from two sides. This place is always packed out and a short wsit for a table is worth it. A pretty good mochacino coffee here actualky was too small for my partner so we order a to- go one also. Food here is not so cheap but what you get id delicious. A ham roll for $10 sounds expensive but taste was due to fresh ingredients and importantly great breads. The eggs benedict with bacon was cooked perfectly. I couldn't fault it. While you'll full on that try to sneak a piece of New York style cheesecake for later. Because of ample reading and newspapers patrons tend to stay longer enjoying their lunch or brunches. Doesn't help the seating situation but each to their own.

My friend invited me over to get some cake at Fraser's. She had the Bailey Cheesecake, while my other friend had the Banana Toffee. I had a bite of botha dn they tasted delicious! And they weren't as heavy as they looked like. Myself, I had 2 cappuccino's, with good foam and a strong shot. Nice!

I think I've tried every single cake in the cabinet at frasers... So when I saw the summer fruits cake on the counter, I knew immediately that i needed to try it!! <br/><br/>Between four of us we got the creme brûlée, banoffee pie, and the summer fruit cake, a reg latte and a soy latte. The cakes were as always, yum. <br/><br/>The coffee though, was possibly one of the worst I've ever had. It was bitter, burnt and the foam was gluggy, thick and I actually found it impossible to enjoy. Apparently my friends reg latte was just as bad. Such a disappointment as we all thoroughly enjoy late night desserts there. 110% would not go again for coffee. <br/><br/>

Just went here for breakfast .. The food was amazing and the service was very quick ! Another plus was they have a few parking spots behind the cafe which is a plus because finding parking on Mt Eden road is pretty difficult , Definitely recommend for a casual brunch

Absolutely love frasers! The quality of cabinet food is always pretty special ...the gf friands have made my mornings! <br/>Lunch or dinner - their menu is always diverse and interesting.<br/>My favourites to order from the menu is the potato koftas and their version of fish and chips. <br/>And it really helps that they are open till late!
Kezia Lobo
Very popular for deserts whether late night or after work. We had the specials for that day. We had the chocolate cake & the sticky date pudding. The chocolate was a bit much of chocolate (never thought I would say that) almost needed something to cut the chocolate. The sticky date pudding was divine
Max Clark
Late night cakes! Yay! The only problem with this place is having too many delicious treats... I can never choose!! <br/>It's very refreshing to have somewhere open so late serving nice food!

My wife and I have been coming here for breakfast for about 4 years, and like Frasers very much because of its great location and good food.  We came back after an absence of several months, and had an unfortunate experience.  <br/><br/>The young woman who took our order was a recent immigrant and though well-meaning had difficulty understanding my order.  I asked for a cheese omelette for my wife, expecting that any normal NZ cafe would be able to accommodate such a request.  What we got was the standard menu omelette, with feta cheese and mushrooms, neither of which was what she wanted.  This is not what my wife expected, and I complained.  Another woman told me "that's our menu omelette".<br/><br/>I am rather disappointed by this response, especially by the lack of any escalation procedure for a complaint.

Always love coming here especially when it's late at night and you want a good dessert other than Dennys. Frasers is open to 11pm which is wonderful if you've been staying late at uni or work. There's a cabinet full of desserts to choose from, don't forget to try the NY baked cheesecake and banoffee pie! There are also desserts off the menu made by the kitchen. The tiramisu is sublime, and not to be missed. Frasers is lovely for dates and catch ups with food served at good prices.
Simone Cooper
A lot of the stuff here is hit and miss. Baileys cheesecake rather flavourless but the baked one is good.
The Sweet Tooth Fairy
Frasers Cafe is almost always a place my friends and I decide to go. It's a small but warm and cozy place ideal for your Friday night after dinner get-togethers and there’s bound to be something to suit every ones’ taste.<br/><br/>They provide a full lunch and dinner menu but I feel like their range of special cheesecakes and tarts are what draws the most attention to eaters, along with other savouries, and a few options of biscuits to go with your coffee. <br/><br/>Besides their cabinet filled with magnificnelty delish cakes and tarts, the cafe also offers a full Dessert Menu that is available as ‘All-Day’. Ranging from Creme Brulees to Tiramisu, this cafe definitely has many wonderful sweet treats suitable to everyones preferences and taste. <br/><br/>The price overall I would say is quite reasonable for the portion served. <br/><br/>Overall, Frasers Cafe is an iconic and popular stop that is surely worthy to make time for! <br/><br/>I've probably tried just about EVERY cake, tart, and items off the Dessert Menu from Frasers Cafe. <br/>Please take a look at it in my blog (LINK is at the bottom on the Comment section) :) I've done my best to describe the taste and textures of the items I've had and my thoughts on them.

I love this place! its one of those places where you can go either when its sunny or even raining.  I love how it is always packed and their range of delicious cakes. <br/>Good customer service which is most important and i love their Hot chocolate which they make with real chocolate!<br/>Definitely worth it.
Manic Diner
I met a friend for breakfast here this morning.  The place was bustling and it had a good vibe about it.  I was surprised not to see a coffee menu and that made me less inclined to order coffee for some reason.  One of those days I guess.  I did like the look of the sweets on display but decided to try the brioche french toast with seasonal fruit, berry compote & maple syrup while my friend ordered the chicken roll on display.<br/><br/>I was really disappointed with the brioche french toast..it tasted bland and I had to ask for the maple syrup as they had left that out.  I was expecting a lot more for the price I paid for it.  My friend's chicken roll was apparently very delicious though.

I came here with a friend for coffee and cake one evening. It was pretty late but the place was still packed. We managed to find a seat but I would probably have preferred to have table service because the place was so busy that you run the risk of missing out on somewhere to sit while you order. <br/>There was a good selection of cakes and treats as well as a pretty extensive menu. Unfortunately there wasn't a specific coffee menu on display as far as I could see. The cakes in the display case could also have used a bit more explanation. I ordered an Upbeet Chocolate Cake slice which I'm assuming had beetroot in it but I can't be sure as it wasn't specified anywhere. My friend had the Bailey's Cheesecake and we each ordered a chai latte, mine sweet and hers spicy. <br/><br/>Perhaps the waitress got the drinks muddled up but my friend's chai latte tasted of just milk whereas mine was much more flavourful. The cake was served with cream (there's the option of yoghurt but if you're having cake my motto is go big or go home) but it was a pretty small portion even if you're not a big cream fan and it was not proportionate to the size of the cake slice. <br/>The cake itself was quite good. It wasn't mind blowing but the chocolate was rich and the sponge was light and fluffy. <br/><br/>We didn't stay as long as we would normally do mainly because we had run out of cream with our cake and my friend's drink was a bit of a dud. <br/>I would probably visit again to get a cake slice or dessert as takeaway rather than fight the crowds for mediocre hot drinks and a tiny amount of cream to accompany my cake.

Great desserts. Would have given a 5. But the service is below average and people unfriendly.

This cafe has been in my Eden Village for a long time! This was my first visit mind you and it was for a coffee and cake after a movie on a week night.<br/><br/>It was busy but not packed and not too loud. We were in for cake so ventured straight over to the counter next to the til to see what cakes they had to offer - after a good few minutes picking what to have we ended up getting a slice of Baileys Cheesecake and Upbeet Chocolate Cake. We also ordered Chai lattes to sip on.<br/><br/>The cakes were both super tasty, both were not too sweet which was a nice change. The baileys cheesecake was my favourite (lucky it was my pick!) but by the end it was getting a bit rich, I think because the slice was so big. Both cakes came with cream (you can get yoghurt) but the amount we got was tiny - a little sad actually haha.<br/><br/>The chai lattes we got were ok. I ordered one sweet an done spicy to see the difference, upon the drinks arriving I took the "spicy" one which we believed to actually be the sweet one (no biggie) but what was a biggie is that it tasted like warm milk aka no real chai flavour, sweet or otherwise. The other chai though was very nice and had a nice chai flavour.<br/><br/>Great little cafe, if not a little crowded, good for a late night bite or dessert destination but not really the kind of atmosphere for a deep and meaningful ;)

Seriously the best breakfast I have had in months! I'm gluten free so I decided to order the Coconut crepes - a very welcome site to see GF catered for in this way! What came was simply divine - light crepes, with beautiful poached pears, caramelised apricots, candied pistachios and Greek yogurt! Great coffee too...Well done Frasers, I'm back tomorrow morning!!!
Dani
Best Cafe I've ever been to. Such a lovely atmosphere and lovely people, Paul and Sandra Fraser are the nicest people. I would eat anything off the menu at Frasers. Firstly my favourite would have to be the ice choc/ mocha with a slice of caramel slice or banana cake of course. Or afghan not gonna be picky at all. But the Hokkien noodles are too die for and the moroccan chicken wrap too. Who knew a wrap with apple in it could taste so good!!? The pancakes, french toast... Pop in for a delicious coffee or brekky, lunch, dins. And gotta love the choc mousse. Literally anything on the desert menu i would eat. twice. Love this Cafe!!
Stella T
I went for coffee and dessert only and while it all looked appealing the fun stopped there. The cookies and cream cheesecake had so much gelatine it was like rubber. And no taste at all. Annoying! All the cheesecakes looked the same, way too firm, very little cream cheese, all gelatine.
Coffee4two
Went for a family meal and have been here regularly previously, we wonder if Frasers is under new management - was ok, not great.
Riddhi
Finally got to visit Frasers Cafe after talking about wanting to go there for the past month! Unfortunately only went for some takeaway cheesecake but still definitely very pleased. Ordered the chocolate mousse, classics NY baked, banoffee and baileys. All 4 were excellent, really enjoyed the banoffee even though I'm not a big fan of bananas. Service was friendly and helpful -recommending popular flavours. <br/><br/>Only giving 4 stars just because I haven't experienced full service for a proper sit down meal. Will be back soon :)
Jennifer
I've been here few times, I have tried almost every cheese cakes here, but I personally don't like the one with the banana because it has a very strong taste of vanilla (but someone who likes vanilla will really enjoy it), and also the one with the passionfruit? i think is too much like a jelly, gelatin-like. The foods were great but I think they are over-priced compared to the amount whats on the plate.
Debbie Brown
Fabulous food and great atmosphere. It can be a bit crowded at times, but that is only because it's so popular - because it's so good. <br/><br/>Best of all, it's open late, til 11pm. I quite like to stop in here for a well deserved treat after climbing Mt Eden in the evenings (unfortunately, I think this may negate the calories burned). <br/><br/>I absolutely love the plum cheesecake - it is by far the best cheesecake I have eaten. The other cakes are also very good, and the coffee is great, too.
Mimi Yang
My friend and I frequent Frasers every week so it's high time I wrote a review. We visit Frasers for the desserts, and there's a good reason why we always come back here week after week. The NY Cheesecake is just heavenly...it consistently amazing week after week! The drinks are also very nicely made and service is always prompt and friendly. We will definitely be coming back next week :)
Janice
Some of the staff here are great, some are very off putting. The very strange pale lady with the black hair who makes the coffee is very hostile, she never lets me finish my order without interrupting me and it all gets a bit confusing! Coffee is always lovely though and breakfast never disappoints. The British staff are usually the nicest ones. Very friendly.
Margaret Timms
Delightful experience and enjoyed the hot chocolates and we are always the biggest fans of the lemon meringue pie... Nom nom.
Des Shinnick
It's not the same.<br/><br/>This used to be our favourite haunt when we lived locally. Open till late. Staff were great, food great. We'd meet with various friends and sit and talk. Frasers used to be the best coffee locally.<br/><br/>The last few visits the atmosphere is still there. The coffee has gone down hill. We've spent more time down the road at Ironique. <br/><br/>I hope this post gets them to look at the coffee. Fix it and we'd be back. We try it from time to time.
Jack
I am not a big fan of this place at all. I always see its busy when I am passing through. Last month we went there for a coffee. It's average, waiters are JUST friendly, they look like they are in their bad moon or something!!<br/>Above all it's over priced!!!!!
G R
Love the ambiance. Always busy. And it's my partners' new fav chill out spot for a coffee and a slice of cake.<br/><br/>The coffee here is a 3 out of 5. ( mocha )<br/><br/>The cakes... Well it depends on what you order.. The baileys one isn't really that nice. But the american cheesecake and the lemon slice were pretty nice. 4 out of 5..<br/><br/>The funniest moment was when we ordered potato koftas..<br/><br/>My understanding of potato koftas is that they are potatoes mashed with herbs and spices. Given a coating of either flour or if a lil' more posh would be panko... deep fried or oven baked and served with a dip..<br/><br/>I didn't quite expect it to just be pom poms.. that's right.. pom poms from your nearest supermarket !!!!! Haha!!! That was hilarious... <br/><br/>We jokingly called it the best koftas we had ever eaten... 2 out of 5 ( the 2 goes towards the aioli.. was yum )

We have been going to Frasers for some years now and we drive all the way from Greenhithe. It's our Friday lunch out from the office and sometimes again on Sunday. We love it. We have always measured our favourite cafes by the coffee and carrot cake and theirs is 'tops' consistently. We also enjoy there wide range of dishes available on the blackboard menu.<br/>Looking at some of the comments below, there are some sad people around. At least they've decided to go elsewhere.<br/>We often find Frasers full with patrons and as a consequence have to wait for a table and we are happy to wait. Now that really says something about this establishment.
Olivia
Horrible service, average food, burnt coffee...but so overpriced.<br/>The waitresses and waiter always look like they're in a bad mood as they serve you.. <br/>We have tried the waffles, which were way overpriced for the alight taste and tiny portions that were given. Baileys cheesecake was totally tasteless as mentioned in another review (should've checked the reviews before going).<br/>It was one of the worst cakes I have ever tried (as a cake lover) we could not actually finish the piece... the cakes are around $7 each and the new york cheesecake is the only cake I keep going to Frasers for. The other menu items we've tried so far are not worth the money as other reviewers have mentioned.. the coffee we ordered was burnt and bitter, and the iced chocolate was BLAND and warm.. not cold :(<br/>At this stage I do not think I will ever have anything other than the NY cheesecake from this cafe.
Deena
This place is smart because they're one of the few cafes open late, so you always see people up to 10-11pm at night enjoying cake and coffee. <br/><br/>The only problem is that they don't excel at making cakes. Last time I had a cheesecake, not sure which flavour it was supposed to be, no-flavour is what it turned out to be! When I spend $5 on a slice of cake I want something at least better than what I can produce at home! It was like eating white coloured jelly on a biscuit base. <br/><br/>Highly disappointing because apart from that it's not a bad place to go, but competition is fierce in Mt Eden Village so there are plenty of other options. Mozaik has just opened across the road is open late too.
Juku
Pro: Open till 11pm<br/>Con: Not many plantbased pastries/cakes<br/>Finally a cafe which is open late - like you find it in Europe! The main dishes include plantbased options, not sure if the sweets selection has changed yet.

Fraser's is really hit and miss sometimes its great sometimes its terrible

I came here with my boyfriend on a Sunday morning a few weeks ago for breakfast. The women at the counter was hostile and clearly irritated when I ordered a coffee then came back to also order a coke as well. The way she glared at me was unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. I ordered the honeycomb hot cakes and was completely disappointed. The two tiny hot cakes were cold. The "berry coulis" that accompanied it was cold tinned mixed berries. Then there was a huge amount of fruit on my plate roughly cute in big pieces. My boyfriend ordered fruit salad and yogurt, and was sad to find that he only got about two table spoons of yogurt with his fruit. It was a real let down, especially since for what we got the prices were ridiculous. The coffee was nice, not great. Total let down. Not worth the money. We had to go home and make sandwiches because we did not finish our food.
Mel
Got the baileys cheesecake from Frasers and it was uneatable there was no taste of baileys what so ever and the whole thing tasted of nothing. I love Mt Eden village but will not be going back there again for something sweet as its the second time we have had something that was uneatable.
Kate Bukowski
Lovely cafe open from early morning till late. The service is very good. The breakfast we had was excellent and I also love their cheesecakes! We took family there from the US and they loved the MT Eden village feeling. Warm in winter and nice tables outside when it is warmer. Highly recommended.
Adeline
Had the potato cake with avocado, bacon and some blue cheest source. Although the presentation was really nice, unfortunately the food was rather bland. Coffee was meh too. <br/>Having said that, the service was impeccable! :) I think they prolly just need to upgrade their hot meals section. <br/><br/>Also tried their cheesecake and banoffie pie - it was meh. Not disappointing, just nothing great.
Dane Grierson
Had the Eggs Bene with Smoked Salmon and it wasn't worth it at $19.90. The Hollandaise was sparse and it was packeted salmon of which at that price I'd expect it to be home cured. It wasnt as if there was an over abundance of it either. The baps it sat on we're lovely though and the staff were too. Except for the female barista who looked sour. Still, she wasn't serving people thankfully. Coffee was nice enough and the cakes looked lush. Something tells me though that the place will not want for clients with good enough coffee and that corner location.
Anita
Returned to Frasers after a few years away. The atmosphere was great and the food ok, unfortunately overshadowed by grumpy staff who found it too hard to be pleasant and courteous to a customer.
Theresa Chan
This place is always full of people and it opens till 11pm at night which seems to be great for meeting friends, but having finally tried it for the first time last week, I found that the food is pretty average and in fact a bit overpriced. <br/><br/>Its location however is quite good for those in the Eden/Epsom area. There are plenty of free parking around and it's right next to the bus stop.
Richard_S
Excellent sweets selection from the cabinet although the food can be very average to well below at times. <br/><br/><br/>The service is good and the coffee ok. <br/><br/>Looks like the owners are only interested in raking in the money as the place is very run down and maybe train the chefs to make consistent food.
Thommie
Great cheesecake!
Janice
After a long night at work and the craving of caffeine started kicking in, I happen to find a small busy Cafe in Mt Eden village still open late at night. I was very impressed with the service, food and coffee. The staff were very friendly, the coffee was perfect and the new York baked cheesecake was to die for. Will defiantly be back again.
Nicki Russell
May be great for coffee and cake but dinner was a disappointment.<br/><br/>No self-respecting food establishment puts on a dinner menu these days without a bar licence. <br/><br/>Had a fairly decent pork belly and kumara salad, but a glass of pinot gris would have made it so much better.<br/>Will not dine again for dinner.
Lynnette Xu
Busy Busy, but still their coffee consistency is just perfect! I don't know how they do it. But it works! their food also happens to be amazing. especially their small but amazing desert menu.
Al
Very disappointing.<br/>This cafe used to be quite a nice social place. And as far as meals were concerned, their Eggs Benedict were quite a charm.<br/><br/>I took my American guest there to show off our Eggs Benedict, only to get ripped off because it was Waitangi Day - after the public holiday charge, the 2 meals came to well over $40.<br/>The service was very average. And I had to ask why the meal cost so much that day. The meals took a little longer than expected, and while it had every ingredient listed on the menu, that was all there was.<br/>The Eggs Benedict had 2 poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce on some kind of dry bread, and bacon. It didn't have any other pesto or paste like how they used to.<br/>It was really dry, yolky, and quite frankly, a bit sickening.<br/><br/>It is very unfortunate about their disappointing quality of food and service. And we are never to return to Frasers again.
David
The coffee's good and the food was excellent. There was lots to choose from. Love the salads and the soups I've had there.
Sara Salman
This is the best cafe in Auckland. Hands down, great food, good coffee and fantastic service. I've been there like a million times. The brulee is just delish.

Frasers is our family favourite for great cake and desserts. I haven't tried anything form their cafe menu yet only their desserts.<br/>But somehow we always manage to make the same mistake and order a slice per person which we regret when we can't finish the slice.<br/>Sharing is caring! I can only share a slice and be satisfied without being too full.<br/><br/>I have tried a number of cakes and I think I stand by my New york cheesecake.<br/>Of course the New York cheesecake is to die for and my favourite along with the 'up beet cake' because I have a weak spot for beetroot cakes. The upbeet cake is a nice chocolate and earthy cake it's super moist and again not too sweet.<br/><br/>Frasers is a always a good place to visit for a slice of cake for dessert or just a good old sweet treat.

Had a nice dinner and desert here. Plum & white chocolate cheesecake is so good & not too sweet. Coffee is great too! Good service.

Such an easy go to place. I swear this place is always busy, thankfully every time that I do come here there is enough seats for my group and I, though we do come pretty late just to eat dessert. The cakes are tasty from Fraser, price is quite reasonable (around $7.50 a slice) but then again, I personally find that a bit expensive - since I'm one of those typical students that loves cheap eats (but hey, that's my opinion, guess cheapass) and portion sizing is reasonable as well, they also come with either cream or yogurt of your choice. There is seating indoor (though indoor can get quite cramped when its full house) and outdoor (smokers friendly), so if you can seat where ever you prefer or seats available. Selection of hot beverages and cold ones too, I like ordering lattes for friends and having them serve it in a bowl - that effort to finish it :D *evil laugh*<br/><br/>Staff are friendly, smiley and attentive. Service was speedy - BONUS :)<br/><br/>Great place, from every experience I had.

Mocha lovers' favourite cafe! One of the best NY cheese cake and mocha in town. Cakes and bakery are omnomnom but the mains are slightly over priced. Great coffee of course.
Two Honest Truths
This is an easy go-to spot that is well known around town for dessert and lunch and coffee. Pretty much everything. It's the place to go for catch ups with two people or even seven. Being outside the CBD, parking is also considerably easier. They now offer customer parking, you just need to let them know at the counter.<br/><br/>Cake is a big thing at Frasers. Their most popular one - and one of our favourites would be the New York Cheesecake. it's light and fluffy and delicious with the yoghurt that it comes with. The Banoffee cake is also great, you have to have all the components in one go otherwise the top will be less flavourful and the bottom will be crazy sweet. It's a perfect blend.<br/><br/>Lunch is alright. It's good but it used to be great. It's on the expensive end and the portions are getting smaller. The place is busy nearly always, from morning till late at night so it may be difficult to get a table especially if you're looking at larger groups of people. Takeaway cake is a great option.

Frasers is always packed, from early in the morning to late at night so expect to have to wait if you go at a busy time. I personally find Frasers too pricey but it's convenient and cosy in the Mt Eden area and also does some delicious dessert. I go there for dessert dates quite a lot. <br/><br/>The lemon meringue is delicious but it came to me cold as if it had been made hours before which was disappointing since it took them almost half an hour to get to me and the lemon was too tart/sour for my liking. However, the meringue was very well made. <br/><br/>Other orders, in my experience, were relatively fast. The lemon cheesecake is a great alternative if you don't like such a strong lemon taste as it is tempered with generous amounts of egg and arrived not too hot but not ice cold either. <br/><br/>The $12 desserts menu is even better than the desserts in their cabinet though. The hot chocolate cake is my boyfriend's favourite, served with chocolate and Baileys sauce as well as a dollop of Movenpick vanilla bean icecream. I had the tiramisu on my first go and they definitely don't skimp on the coffee or chocolate. The lightly scented brandy and espresso soaked savioroli with Kapiti mascarpone and Valetiona shavings really worked. <br/><br/>The crème brûlée I tried on a subsequent visit was the best crème brûlée I've had in Auckland. Passionfruit, lime and Belgian white chocolate made it lightly flavoured and the wedge of shortbread and tart berry juices that accompanied it refreshed your palate between bites. <br/><br/>Their desserts chef truly needs to be commended, however I do wish the prices were reflective of the amount of dessert you got and that the people at the counter are more welcoming. I reserve Frasers for dessert treats in the heart of Mt Eden when I feel like spoiling myself or a special one.

Frasers is one of those places that are reliably open, be it New Year's Day, late at night, or some other time when you are feeling hungry. The only problem is that you might not find a seat!<br/><br/>You need to go up to the counter to order, which is different from most other cafes, but the great thing about this is that you can simply walk away afterwards, without the chance of forgetting to pay, or needing to wait for someone's attention.<br/><br/>The food covers the usual cafe favourites, as well as popular/trendy items such as Best Ugly Bagels. As previous reviewer have mentioned as well, the dessert selection here is drool-worthy.
Amy @ My Dining Journey
Looking for a great slice of cake, then you should make your way to Frasers in Mt Eden. I'm a huge fan of Frasers and has been for the last couple of years. Back when I was working an afternoon shift, I would finish late and this will be my regular meet up spot with my friends for a cheeky slice of cheesecake (which I happily devour instead of having a proper diner). Because they have long opening hours, it was my ideal to enjoy a light meal rather than trying to find a restaurant/bar to meet with friends. <br/><br/>My all time favourite would be their heavenly New York Baked Cheesecake, which is crumbly, light and not too overly sweet. Their Bailey's cheesecake and lemon tart are both very good too. I like to have mine with a side of unsweetened yoghurt. <br/><br/>I've tried their lunch and dinner menu before, which is pretty decent. But I tend to not stray and just have a slice of cake with my coffee. <br/><br/>They are extremely busy so be prepared to wait for a table or sit outside, which can be nice on a sunny afternoon. My only complaint is the ventilation inside which can get rather hot and stuffy.

One of my favorite spots for late night meals or dessert cravings! Frasers is wonderful for those cosy catch-ups with friends or for lunch or dinner dates. They have a wide variety of breakfast and brunch options as well. Their speciality is however their range of desserts - be it the ready-to-eat cakes, friands, and muffins, or the specially made ones such as the creme brulee, tiramisu, pudding, cheesecakes and panna cotta. <br/><br/>Frasers is almost always packed with people, and they have very limited space indoors (outdoor seating area is great during summer). The easiest way to find a seat without having to wait is to visit during off-peak hours to avoid the lunch or dinner rush. I like the fact that the place is open till late on most nights (11-pm). Plus, Frasers is easy to access as there is always ample off-street parking available in Mt Eden. <br/><br/>The staff are friendly and nice, and service is super quick too!
