Review Tiger Burger - Auckland Central

Pork belly borger was really good interesting, mango ice tea sparkling drink +++ however unfortunate chicken wings not very goood but otherwise +++

Well I'm quite surprised honestly. It obviously is a Korean fried chicken and hamburger eatery bar, yet I don't see any Korean inside the venue, even staff. But that doesn't have affected the food quality I need to point out. Unexpectedly yummy korean fried chicken hamburger, even the chips are crunchy and delicious. Particularly the dipping sauce is made of korean sesame oil, 100% creative and yum! I really enjoyed it and it's beyond any of my expectations, point is, inexpensive at all, very good.

Friday night 7pm and not too many in, shame place looks so much better on the inside, clean place which looks so much better than the outside appearance, so give this place a go. fusion cuisine at its best, didn’t taste like a burger, but great tasting food, best dish was the chicken seoulful bites we we ordered as a side

I had the sweet chili fried chicken burger which redeemed via doordash. The chicken was juicy and so flavourful with crispy wonton in between that add the crispy texture. The home made chili sauce and mayo just compliment each other very well. The bun is also so yummy and can it be a homemade bun , but it is fluffy and buttery, so good by itselft. I cant recommend enough and will come back for more.

Delicious burgers with a lot of flavour! The sides we ordered were also very delicious. Place is very spacious and staff were very friendly. Only con was they advertised salads but unfortunately had no ingredients for them. Other then that I did enjoy my burger.

Amazing food . The burgers are legendary, such a great taste. And the chips so good. The venue is really nice with a good choice of seating and great lighting. Amazing service. Well worth a viist

Sooo good! Highly recommend the deep fried Oreo dessert and their fried chicken is so delicious :)))

If you're looking to give the taste buds a thrill, and the tummy a proper stretching a short while later, then you wouldn't go wrong taking a chance on Tiger Burger. Really impressed by the food - great, strong, flavours, and the sorts of interesting combinations that keep meals engaging and exciting - and how much care they take to make sure its all coming out exactly how you're going to love it. Casual, comfortable, and certified delicious.
Rosie
Decent burgers, chicken was a tad bit too salty but as standard as fried chicken usually gets. Definitely better than my Tiger burger experience in grey Lynn two years ago, but since dom rd opened up was keen to try

Amazing food and awesome service. The chicky fries are a MUST get! Fried chicken bites with shoestring fries and the best spicy sauce. The Dubu burger was fantastic for a vegetarian and the new special pork belly burger was delicious for hubby. We also got their new mango sago dessert and would definitely recommend.

Burgers were great ! the vegetarian tofu burger is a bit deflated but the peanuts make up for it. Unsure I’ll recommend their signature k-fries as it was super soggy and sour (likely overly sour rather than a balanced tasting dish). I would just save $ and just order Regular fries 🧐 This place was still bumping at 8pm on a Wednesday as there were many uber eats order! I will still come back for their other dishes

Checked out their Summer menu and was thoroughly impressed!! Portions are huge and well priced, and the quality of the food was very high. Really enjoyed the service too - great knowledge of the menu. I highly recommend the Crispy Squid and the Jim Beam burger. Most things on the menu are under $20 which is awesome to see!

Delicious Korean-style burgers and such friendly service! We had a really great first experience here. Loved the fried chicken burger, and the kimcheese burger. We also thought the k-fries had good flavours. Pretty short wait time too and reasonable prices.

Ordered the Old Boy burger and Seoulful Bites (fried chicken) which was served after a decent waiting time. I really enjoyed the fried chicken, but wished the portion size was bigger, especially for it's price. Also didn't find it as spicy as I expected it to be.<br/><br/>My burger was very yummy for the first half of it, but by the second half, the braised pork started to get too salty for me and overpowered the beef. The onions and rice vinegar pickles were the only vegetables in the burger (I'm used to lettuce and tomatoes), so my mouth was very dry after my meal.

The food is good but can do with less salt. 2 of us ordered the chicken burger. We liked it but it was too salty. Less salt would be better. The same goes for the bites.
Junior Lol
overpriced special cost me $14. Picture says it all. Normal kebab skewer taste, was expecting at least 5 skewers. Left feeling hungry still. Would not recommend

Had the kimcheese, gang-jeong and k-fries. Loved the crispy chicken and sweet sauce in the gangjeong! The kimcheese was interesting with the kimchi as it had a spicy, pickled taste but worked well with the beef and melted cheese. Loved the soft bread buns. Wished the burgers were bigger but loved the sauces and flavors. FYI, don’t be intimidated by the spice because it’s quite mild! BUT I wasn’t a fan of the fries :( They were drenched in so much sauce so most of the fries were soggy and the large bits of kimchi on the top made the portion look a lot bigger than it was, definitely not enough fries for the price! Nevertheless, an exciting adventure for my taste buds and I don’t regret trying it out! ALSO YAY ITS PET FRIENDLY 🐶

Honestly, I visited with a lot of expectations.<br/>However, it was just under average. (I probably think that expectations were too high)<br/><br/>Creative menus were good.

Food is awesome! The kimcheese burger is absolutely delicious. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had and I’m not even a burger person.<br/><br/>Also had the fried mussel and beer combo. The fried mussel is also really yummy.<br/><br/>Had a bit of drama with one of the male servers though, which kind of ruined the evening a bit. We ordered the chicken bites after checking on their QR code menu. The male server gave a nod and took our order. When the food was served, it was another fried chicken dish and not the chicken bites we ordered. So I went to him and asked him about it and told him we ordered chicken bites and not this. He said chicken bites is a kid’s menu item and we can’t order it. Problem is, the QR code menu doesn’t say it’s a kids menu item and when we placed the order with him, he didn’t tell us either and even took our order. He didn’t check in with us at any point before the food was served to tell us that we can’t order the chicken bites. Somehow he decided that it’s ok for him to change our order and give us something that we didn’t order.<br/><br/>When I told him that I want to have the chicken bites meal (that comes with half portion fries), he said we got to top up for the fries and insisted he can’t just give me the fries. Not sure why I should be penalised for his mistake but he had a really bad attitude and has zero idea about service recovery. And he was going to charge us the full price for the food we did not order instead of the price of what we ordered.<br/><br/>The saving grace was when we paid, the lady server apologised and acknowledged the mistake and for her colleague’s way of handling the situation and only charged for the price for what we ordered.<br/><br/>Advice: go for the food but try not to order with the male server.

Cute place, well laid out space with clean walls and seating. Ordered the Kimcheese, kimchi sides and Cheeky hoisin. Burgers were made super quickly and staff was friendly and accommodating. <br/>Both burgers were super juicy and well stuffed, the bun extremely bouncy and soft, flavors were hitting all the right places, a blend of spicy and savory. Pulled pork was extremely flavoursome and soft, the Kimcheese had a decent beef patty and genius filling of kimchi. Both burgers were really tasty, however compared to other burgers laces-their burgers were on the slightly smaller side, and the side was definitely a bit expensive for what it was. I was always expecting more in the presentations from all the gallery images I’ve seen and so was slightly disappointed when they came out just as typical burgs. <br/>Overall a very pleasant experience, however if it wasn’t for the food company I had, then I doubt u would’ve been as pleased with the burgers as I was. 3.5/5 decent but missing that extreme wow factor for me.

Popped our cherries at Tiger Burger this weekend and it was MAGICAL. Will definitely be back 😏 <br/><br/>It was hard to decide which burger to order, everything sounded really good! Ended up getting the Galbi (beef, pickles, caramelised onions, honey garlic mayo and added cheese) and the Cheeky Hoisin (pulled pork, hoisin, slaw, pickles and honey garlic mayo). Someone didn’t read the menu and thought they’d ordered a pork belly burger 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️ so had a touch of the sadness when they came out but while we agreed both were yum the beef was the winner 🙌🏼<br/><br/>For sides we ordered the k-fries loaded with kimchi, cucumbers (dill-icious) and seoulful bites. The fried chicken was super crispy but still moist with the tastiest yang nyum glaze, the fries were good but soggy by the end and the pickles cucumbers were tart AF just like we like! Washed it all down with a couple of Asahi 🍻 <br/><br/>Really good spot for couple and small groups (2-6 people) because it has a decent amount of seating for what feels like a small space. Reasonably priced too and their beef is sustainably farmed.

Stopped in here yesterday for a quick takeaway burger, only ordered one burger. Service was extremely pleasant and friendly to deal with. Even tho they were quite busy they got that burger out in about 7 minutes from order! The burger was awesome probably the best i have ever had, juicy beef pattie no grisly bits at all and flavor was out of this world!<br/>We don't need to eat Macdonalds and other crap with these awesome little shops around!

We really, really wanted to love Tiger Burger. It’s trendy and the food was extremely tasty, but we couldn’t get past the forty minute wait time for our fries, and then the subsequent ten minute wait time for our burgers. This was from the time of ordering too- which happened to be ten minutes after we actually arrived at Tiger Burger as we (and the two other groups behind us) had to wait to be seated at one of the five different tables that were already empty. We wish our experience had been different, but fifty minutes for burgers was just a little bit too long.

Really love the bunless double kimcheese burger here! I’m not usually a fan of Asian fusion, but Tiger Burger made it work! My fiance got the fried chicken burger, and that was also delicious.
Alma Eats
Located in Grey Lynn, with cute neon lights and decor, they're serving up delicious Korean fusion burgers. If you like Kimchi, this is the place for you. We got the Kimcheese (aged taupo beef, sautéed house Kimchi, aged cheddar and gochujang mayo) and Gang-jeong (double fried chicken thigh, chilli-soy glaze, pickled mu, shredded lettuce and gochujang mayo) burgers and a side of fried chicken. Although the burgers were smaller than I expected for their prices (so I recommend getting a side too), they were damn yummy. With soft pillowy buns, every bite is full of explosive flavour and some spice for a good kick!<br/><br/>Check out my insta @ohmyfoodiegoodie to follow more of my tried eats!

Love the idea of kimchi in a burger. Fried chicken is sooo good!!

Great place. Would actually give 5 star but.. Im stubborn to traditional burgers and they ran out of ice cream to make milk shakes from the day before. One I will say though is that burgers are clean taste amazing. So if you are hungry islander who like greasy thick patty burgers.. this may not be the place for you. I only say this because the burgers it self doesnt have the same beefy taste you would expect from most burgers. Its light and does leave you feeling like you just ate a greasy beefy brick. I really like the kimchesse burger.its very unique and great flavour and the nicely toasted soft bouncy bun was amazing. But I still felt that something was missing to bring the burger together.not sure what it was but it may have been just clean green lettuce to cut through some of that sauce.. Also I wish I got a double rather than single. Burgers aside the slaw and fried chicken is a must. Definately up there in terms of new takes of burgers.

I’ve been to tiger burger several times now, with food being excellent each time. The staff have been friendly on all visits. <br/>The only issue I had on my visit yesterday was Zomato Gold. Tiger Burger was definitely still on Zomato gold as I unlocked it after I got there, however when I asked the staff if I could use it they said they had actually stopped Zomato Gold the day before and also because 31st October was an “event” day they couldn’t let me use it. I didn’t push it further as I wanted to still eat there however I just felt that the deal should have been honoured as it was still on Zomato Gold at the time. <br/><br/>Overall the place and food is great and I highly recommend, but just a little hiccup with Zomato Gold.
Riddhi
Disclaimer: food and service was amazing but rating due to Zomato Gold<br/><br/>Restaurant doesn’t offer zomato gold anymore and says there is a delay with removing it off zomato which is why they can’t offer it. Personally I thought they would honour until the actual unlock screen removed. But good thing we checked they don’t offer prior to ordering. <br/><br/>Food on the other hand was really good and really flavourful. The portion sizes were good and all food came out super quickly. The place itself was roomy and had a really nice vibe. Would definitely recommend the fried chicken bites and the pulled pork burger. <br/><br/>Service was friendly and genuine. Both servers were very polite and gave good recommendations.

Had the kimcheese burger which was very tasty - and not something you’d find at other burger restaurants! definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a twist to your burgers. Great atmosphere to dine too :)<br/>

We got the Old Boy Burger, Seoulful Bites (Korean Fried Chicken) and Shoestring Fries. The chicken's batter was super crispy, one of the most crispy chicken I've ever eaten, and the sauce was really good. The burger had the softest (brioche-like?) buns and the meat were very juicy. I also ordered all of the desserts on their menu, Ice Cream and the Moustache Cookie were so soft and gooey and the Chapsal donuts were crispy on the outside and so chewy insude. This place has become my favourite burger restaurant in Auckland now.
Bella Williams
Amazing as always. The fried chicken is insane! Paired with one of their beef burgers and a beer. The flavours are amazing, the meats perfectly cooked and the service is so friendly.
#fatlyfe
We ordered the galbi and the chicken burger. I really didn’t think much of the galbi it was very average..... the bottom of the burger was soggy, maybe I just didn’t pick the right burger I’m not sure. I’m glad I had the app which meant I only paid for 1 burger and thus didn’t feel like it was a complete waste of money
Vivian C
We came here with Zomato Gold and ordered a Galbi Burger w/ Cheddar, Gang-Jeong Burger, a side of Kimchi Fries, and a Cold Brew Coffee.<br/><br/>I loved the taste of my galbi burger, the perfect combination of salty and sweet. The melted cheese and caramelised onion were perfect additions to the burger. The only dissatisfaction I have with this burger is that when I first picked it up, I felt something like a hard plate inside the burger but after a few bites I realised that it was actually the patty. Rather than it being plump and juicy, it was quite burnt and solid.<br/><br/>The fried chicken in the gang-jeong burger was juicy and coated in an amazing sauce. The addition of the pickled radish was refreshing and made everything feel less oily and heavy. Again however, another issue with the top brioche bun being quite burnt so every bite would have a bit of a burnt taste. <br/><br/>The kimchi fries were delicious and we absolutely devoured them in a matter of a few minutes. So, in my opinion $12.90 was a bit of a steep price to pay for some shoestring fries and kimchi.

I had double kimcheese(?) burger and old boy. Also added bibimbob coleslaw for side. Was great. I haven’t tried kimchi burger before, and was great.

Nice Setup and reasonable seating available. Very good burger options. I wished could have mushrooms as an option or in new burger like 'kimcheese fungi' (Kimchi, cheese, patties and portabello mushrooms) . Otherwise very good. Salad and fries were awesome. Two people $25 each with drink.
Chunkymonkey
We tried the Cheeky Hoisin & Gang-jeong burger. Both were okay, does get quite sloppy as you eat. On the pricier side as its $32 for these two burgers. Note that there are better fried chicken burgers elsewhere. Good to try this place out at least once though! ✌
Eleshea D’Souza
Average burger, I just felt there wasn’t anything special about it.<br/><br/>Very good customer service for a burger joint.
Paularbear
We had a wonderful time, great service and food was excellent! Although we did ask for well done beef but was rare. Still tasty burgers though! Highly recommend!!
Fatty One
Maybe I had too much expectation about the ratings.<br/>Had 2 burgers, conslaw and 2 tap beers.<br/>The berry taste tap was not good and not worthy with $12. I thunk it is quite similar taste of galbi buger and double kimchi cheese buger. And nothing special.... but I liked the vibes and ambience. Service was good.<br/>Conslaw was interesting and yummy.<br/>Overally I want to give 4.

fried chicken starter - could have been better not that tender. however, Spicy sauce was good<br/><br/>Kim chi fries and chicken burger with Korean spicy was - SPOT ON
Shirley Weng
So many choices and first time to visit, you should try the spicy chicken burger and kimchit burger. It is a korean fusion burger with relative cheaper price than other fusion food. For diet ladies, there is also an option for salads wrapping instead of bread bun. Good servise and short waiting time. I will come back sometime next week.
Vernities
One of the best price/value burger place.<br/>3 burger and K-fried with Zomato Gold will guarantee you to have a good experience. The staffs were very friendly. You would have to wait a bit for the food to come out but really worth it.
Sus
Been here twice, the taste is good but pretty standard flavour. It’s definitely overpriced for that size of burger. $16 or $18 of a burger would be better to have fries inclusive.
Udeshi
Been here few weeks back, had been waiting to try this place for awhile. Great food bit expensive for the size but worth it for me. We had the Kimcheese, Cheeky Hoisin & fries.  If you can sit at the courtyard, opt for that. Excellent service, food were served quite fast (we did go at non- peak time).
Hungry Teddy (20% Zomato Gold, Use : HUNG2716)
Asian korean fusion burger. Tasted quite unique, but not enough to surprise us. I was hoping to get more Korean flavour in it. Reasonably priced. The burger was a bit small so it’s good to order sides as well. Fries was pretty good. Service was a little bit slow, but it’s alright.
Megan
Very friendly staff and despite them being quite busy the wait time wasnt too long. The Dubu and Gang-Jeong burgers were good and so were the kimchi fries! It was my first time trying kimchi and I would definitely get these fries again. It was also nice to be able to use gold here

Kimcheese burger was bomb! The sauce comes with chips was pretty nice . I could taste korean sesame oil in it. House iced sparkling yuzu tea was pretty good as well. Friendly staffs.

The best burger I have ever had so far.. will visit again.. very good place #tigerburger

Not a good place to come to in winter, cold inside and far from cosy. Ordered the Dubu (vegetarian tofu burger) and fries. The burger was really basic, decent portion of tofu but bland and dry, burger needed more sauce, more ingredients, more flavour, wasn’t spicy, bun tasted really soft and cheap. Looked like it had just been chucked together in a hurry, and besides the tofu had not much of any of the other ingredients, just a little dollop of crushed nuts and sauce in the middle. Definitely not worth $14.

Tiger burger has a nice environment. It is a small place. But the Food was good. The time frame for the food to come out was reasonable, did not have to wait for a long time.

Very nice burger. I am so lucky for having Zomato membership. Will definitely try again !

This place has the most amazing food. The Cheeky Hoisin pulled pork burger is my favourite (I went back twice the other day because I love it so much). The service is great, the food is vegan friendly. I have an egg allergy so they offered me vegan buns and even vegan mayo - which is awesome and quite rare with most food places. 5 stars!
Rao
We got the gang-jeong and the cheeky hoisin. Both yum. Drinks were strong too.<br/><br/>4.5/5 stars but it would be a perfect score if it was just me eating. My dining partner wasn't a fan of the portion sizes. I also think it's weird that I needed to pay another $1.5 for their hot sauce but it was delicious!
Elyse Oh
Love the laid back environment and the great customer service.<br/><br/>Their fried chicken is deliciously crunchy and tasty. However the superstars at this restaurant are their burgers which are absolutely delicious, succulent and juicy. Shoutout to the kimcheese burger - if you have a big appetite order it as a double, you won't regret it!<br/>
Ciaran R
Tiger Burger's Gang-jeong is the most consistently delicious chicken burger in Auckland. Seoulful bites are great, although for the price the portion should be larger. Ask about the current milkshake flavour, I've never been disappointed!
CHIFAN.EATS
This place is so cute with the neon lights and decor, such a perfect place for a night out. The burgers tasted good but sadly lacking a bit flavours. It would be a perfect burger if there were more sauces and the kimchi have more flavours, I only tasted saltiness in it. Chips and slaws were nice though, not your standard side dishes at burger places.<br/><br/>Food 7/10 Service 6/10 Ambience 9/10

Fusion burgers done right - I’ve tried the tofu (Dubu) burger and the beef burger (Kimcheese). The chicken burgers look delish too though! <br/><br/>The flavours are really well done, adding an exciting touch to the burger without being overpowering. The patty on the Kimcheese is a little on the small side though, so you may want to go for the double if you’re hungry. <br/><br/>Service times in both instances were about 20mins - a little on the long side for burgers, but not unreasonable. Staff were attentive and friendly. <br/><br/>There’s some interesting wall art to keep you entertained while you wait for your burger. Dog friendly sheltered outdoor area as well. <br/><br/>All in all, a pretty good experience.

This place is so good!!! Always come here if I’m around. Soulful Bites is definatly a must and love every burger on the menu. Service is always quick and friendly, and also friendly to dogs!

Wanted to try this place out after hearing good reviews about it. Service was nice however we had to wait quite a bit for our food. We ordered bacon fries, hoisin burger, galbi burger and the kimcheese burger. I really liked the fries! The sauce was nice and the onions, bacon and jalapeño went well together. As for the burgers, my dad had the hoisin one and had trouble eating it as the pulled pork wasn’t put together like a normal patty. So the burger kind of just fell apart. The galbi and kimcheese were average- the patties were a little over cooked. Overall experience was average, not sure if I’d come back simply just because I’ve had better burgers out there And it wasn’t the most filling meal either. My brother went to McDonald’s later because he was still hungry. Might come back for the fries though!
Stefanie
Chicken burger is heavenly. Super crispy and taste really good. Sides we had Asian slaw-super nice with the sauce, and kimcheese fries-cheese with Kimchi soooo good! Definitely One of my favorite place.
Simone Press
Delicious burgers, friendly staff and an awesome little spot with a great vibe! Highly recommend! The “Kimcheese” burger is out of this world with locally sourced meat, delicious Smokey cheese and then spicy and enlivening Kimchi on top! I like it wrapped it lettuce for an extra kick of crunch but it’s great on a burger. The fries are also delightfully crispy and served w a sesame aioli. Delicious stuff!

A little Korean burger place in Grey Lynn. Staff are friendly. Service in general is good but you will have to wait a bit before you have your favorite burger on the table. I prefer the one with beef while my partner perfers the chicken one. Food is delicious. And because the shop is only 2-min drice from our home, we definitely will come back xxx

Second time here and have been meaning to come back again and there’s no reason not to since they’re on zomato gold!!<br/>- Kimchi beef burger 10/10<br/>Juicy patty and perfectly melted cheese and a generous amount of kimchi<br/>- Chicken Burger 8/10<br/>A huge piece of crispy chicken w daicon pickle and a tangy glaze. The girl that looked after us was really friendly and nice:)

Awesome lettuce substitutes for the burgers! The dining environment and the customer service were both good! I personally thought the burgers were a little small for it's price. Unfortunately my photos don't do the burgers justice; they looked awesome in real life, and I was very eager to dig in.

Absolutely amazing! Chicken burger was delicious, bacon fries were next level, can’t wait to get back there and try the other delicious offerings. <br/><br/>Great atmosphere too! Beautiful little place!

The burgers here were really well proportioned and super tasty - didn’t taste too heavy to eat, and of high quality. The flavours (at least the ones we had) have an Asian-Esque taste to them - you can taste the different flavours come together well.<br/><br/>The burger by itself wasn’t enough to fill me, so recommend a side - especially if you’re a guy. <br/><br/>Despite being winter, the outside area was well covered and we really enjoyed the heating and atmosphere out back. <br/>The music is chill and laid back with some energetic bests, suiting the energy of the place. <br/><br/>The staff are very attentive and accommodating. <br/><br/>This was an awesome date spot experience for us, being outside, not being too noisy, well heated, and the lighting of it set a great mood! <br/><br/>Highly recommended! :) <br/><br/>(Heard about this place through Zomato Gold)

First impressions about this place were so wrong. It looked like a tiny hole in the wall operation which was crowded. But there is lots more seating out the back<br/>The staff are excellent and the ambiance is pure local market. A great vibe here. <br/>The food - I have never had a better burger. I had the Ol Man. Real beef. Beautiful taste, so fresh that it was melt in the mouth. <br/>Forget the plastic mcd. You want a real burger in Asian street style come to this place
Garron White
Definitely a fan of this place. Their burgers are yum and staff are all good. Been several times and always enjoy eating here. Recommend the kimchi burger with cheese!
Totally Fried NZ
We got totally fried at Tiger Burger<br/><br/>Tiger Burger is top of our list for three reasons: Gang Jeong burger, Seoulful Bites and Ssam Fried chicken salad, in that order. They’re the burger joint for the culturally adept and must be entered on an empty stomach. <br/><br/>The Seoulful Bites are equal parts spicy, sweet and crispy - very crispy - even after being doused heavily in yang nyum glaze. <br/><br/>The Gang Jeong Burger is about as sophisticated as a chicken burger can be and carries a crispy thigh piece big enough to be a meal on its own. <br/><br/>We can honestly say were we not here to review, the salad wouldn’t have been on our table. But as we feel obligated to try every fried fowl option, for all our loyal followers, here goes. Overflowing with fried chicken, kimchi and cabbage, it may be described as a taco but this borders on a cutlery-necessary approach. And the kimchi, cabbage and lettuce are actually a treat after mouthfuls of batter and mayo. <br/><br/>Sure service was a little slow but Sundays by nature should be. And with Korean ingredients in every meal, it’s as educational as it is enticing. <br/><br/>Overall: 4.2/5<br/><br/>What we had:<br/>Gang Jeong Burger<br/>Seoulful Bites<br/>Ssam Fried Chicken Salad<br/><br/>$46.90<br/>

Definitely one of the best burgers in town. Kimchi is great. Friendly staff, good service and good prices. Great to go with friends. The place is not very big, but has different areas which give privacy.

After hearing about it from so many people I thought I’d give it a go. I had the kimchi beef and aged cheddar burger... Fuck me it had everything going for it and it all tasted amazing. I’d definitely rate it in my top 5 burgers I’ve ever had. Chips were great standard. The sesame in the aoili dipping sauce was way too strong but probably cause I personally rate strong garlic. Service was excellent, very friendly, and food came out fast. Would recommend

Korean-themed burgers. Epic! Strangely enough, this place wasn’t even on my radar. It was my friend who is a self-professed burger lover that recommended this place.<br/><br/>We dined in at the restaurant and what you would notice quite quickly is how modern the place was. Nothing too fancy, but there were small amounts of Korean goodness sprayed around to give it that fusion feeling.<br/><br/>What I assumed Tiger Burger was well known for was their burgers. I was enlightened that they are also known for their signature thick shakes. The shake flavors would vary and when my friend ordered his one it was roasted white chocolate flavor. I had a sip and I’ll have to agree that the shakes here were awesome. Our burgers did take some time though; however they came out moist and flavorsome. <br/><br/>I got the double kimcheese and the cheeky hoisin. Both burgers were tasty in their own right, the kimcheese would be like your standard double beef burger with cheese, the addition of the kimchi did provide an interesting texture and a small spice kick. <br/><br/>For 21$ its on the pricey end, the single burger would have been more than enough. Didn’t get to try my friends burger, I did want to but when I asked the burger was already gone.<br/><br/>Showstopper: Atmosphere and solid burgers<br/><br/>Overall Grade: B+

Serving unique korean asian fusion burgers in central Auckland.<br/><br/>Service: 9/10<br/>The staff was welcoming and allowed us to choose our seats. They also allowed us to switch to the open backdoor area since it was more open and quiet.<br/>The guy that served us was very friendly and helpful. He came to our service immediately whenever we called for him and brought us everything we needed.<br/>He helped us refill our water and clear our plates, he also informed us about the status of our dessert.<br/>The food was dished out pretty quickly so we weren’t too anxious.<br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>We ordered the chicken and waffle special, kimcheese, cheeky hoisin, k-fries, mango float cake and a cold brew coffee.<br/>The coffee was a pretty sad portion and tasted ok.<br/>The kimcheese had a nice pickled spicy flavour. The meat was tender and fatty with a soft and buttery bun. The mayonnaise and cheese also cuts the spiciness so it wasn’t unbearably hot.<br/>The cheeky hoisin had delicious bbq flavour pulled pork which punched you in the face with flavour. The pickles and slaw added some texture to balance out the tender meat.<br/>The chicken and waffle special was the highlight of the day. The iced waffle had a more cakey texture compared to a bun. The fillings all had more of a bite in comparison. The chicken was fried till crunchy but not greasy, the chicken was also juicy. The slaw was creamy and crunchy, the jalapeños were actually quite sweet. The bacon was fatty and crispy.<br/>The k-fries resembled McDonald’s fries. They were crisp potatoes topped with deliciously cheesy sauce.<br/>The mango float cake was milky and not too sweet. The layers of cream fit nicely with the soft cake and mango flesh. You can’t really taste the mango but there is a little sour sprinkling on top, I think it might’ve been freeze dried raspberry.<br/><br/>Ambiance: 7/10<br/>From the outside it doesn’t seem like much of an interesting restaurant, just like a ordinary bar, but when you step inside and go down the corridor, you will discover a secret garden. The front of the house of quite dark and noisy, it doesn’t feel quite like a dining setting. <br/>The garden at the back is so bright and beautiful. The fake grass and plants create a clean and comfortable feeling. The dark tones of the furniture fits in with the nighttime dining and nightlife.<br/>It can get quite loud since there is music playing and also the kitchen is quite close to the dining area. <br/>There is actually quite a lot of seating considers the small amount of space.<br/><br/>This is a pretty good place to eat at when you’re feeling fancy and wanna eat a burger that isn’t from a fast food restaurant.

Amazing burger - poor performance. I had to try this place... expectation was burgers with an Asian fusion spin. Walked in to a fairly clean venue and welcoming staff. Ordered the Galbi burger with extra cheese and some fries, and the homemade sparkling tea. Burger was juicy and tasty... yum! boom! Flavour explosion. Staff was friendly but unfortunately the burger took too long to be delivered (and the place wasn't a full house). Fries arrived when i was finishing the burger (about 45 mins after ordering). I was offered tomato sauce but it never made it to the table. The tea wasn't sparkling at all.... I left with mixed feelings, I want to eat more of these amazing burgers but I won't put up with poor service. 7:30pm and they were already turning customers away, really? While I wasn't on my phone I noticed at least 10 customers turned away. Not sure I will come back.

Just a really good burger! Kimchi and cheese is a killer combo. Beef patty was well cooked, very tender and juicy.<br/>Crunchy fries, yummy sesame mayo sauce and delicious thickshakes.<br/>Thickshakes change weekly so good they're keeping things fresh.<br/>They also had a special called the potato dog which is like a corn dog except with fries wrapped around it. The sausage and fries component were quite good but it was sprinkled with too much sugar which slightly throws the balance off.<br/>Overall a great experience! Looking forward to trying their other burgers.<br/><br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Service: 5/5<br/>Environment: 4/5

Love, love this place because of the ambience and the staff! 5 stars for them! I like how personalised their service is. You wont need to ask anything extra as they already know what you may need. The burgers are good but I have tried better burgers. Will definitely come back for their sexy chips hahah! Thanks also for the free dessert!

Best milkshake I have ever had , love the k fries. Excellent service by nova and the staff didnt wait too long for my meal. I woul recommend the chicken burger they have it's so good.

It wasn't too hard to find this place, just keep a look out for a golden tigers head in the shop front. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, they cleared away a table near the kitchen so I could take it since it was more comfortable than the one that was empty. Plenty of tables on the inside area by the bar and they also had a covered outdoor area in the back. Even though they were fairly busy it wasn't too hard to get someones attention to order. <br/><br/>The seoulful bites came out first, crunchy fried chicken with a sweet chili sauce and mayo. I had the Old Boy burger with the beef patty and pulled pork. Both dishes were really tasty. While I was eating, it was the waiter noticed that my drink hadn't come yet so he went to sort it out. The rosey tiger is really nice especially if you like yoghurt/milky drinks. I had the mango float for dessert and that was also really nice, although it could've done with a bit more of a mango flavour.<br/><br/>Nice place with good food and great service.

We sat at the back of the property. Lights hung from the ceiling, it would be beautiful at night. We got our orders seen to promptly and water given on a hot day! Burgers were served and the first bite we fell in love! Soft burger buns, with a tasty slaw salad, the aromas and taste worked well! The beef was juicy but not oily! Very well done to the Chefs!
Tina Cherrall
Really delicious, tasty burgers. We had pulled pork and chicken wings which were amazing. Cute little place well worth the visit.<br/><br/>Def recommend!

Tiger burger Is favourite place for burgers in Auckland (the fried chicken burger is on point). Nice service, great atmosphere. Make sure you try the k-fries!
Kelvin
The staff were friendly and the burgers were great, although had to wait 45 minutes for 2 burgers and they wernt that packed at the time.<br/>The burgers are a bit on the expensive side on what you could get else where.<br/>Other then that its a good first time experince if your wanting to try

There's not much I can say about this place that hasn't already been said. Between us we've tried pretty much everything on the menu and never been anything other than impressed. If you like burgers, our Asian fusion then you simply need to try this place.
Jeddahlyn Aguilar-Bermudez
The food was tasty and delicious. Service was good we didnt waited for long for our food to arrive and service was accommodating and friendly.

Honestly I am a bit disappointed. Ordered the Gang Jeong (chicken).. The fried chicken batter was too thick that it was overpowering the chicken flavour. The food wasn’t as great as I thought it would be. Went here to try it out because of the good reviews and photos, however the taste was very average. Nothing special about it..
Sabrina Chae
The burgers tastes amazing but I did find the sauce to be too runny. It was impossible to eat the burgers without dripping the sauce everywhere.<br/>We tried the mango float cake for dessert and absolutely loved it!!!<br/><br/>Would give 5stars if the sauce wasn't so runny.
Nakul Patel
Such fantastic burgers!!! Would come back multiple times to taste them all. Such a beautiful blend of burgers and Korean tastes. Their shoe string fries are absolutely crunchy with a yummy sesame mayo dip. The chicken burger (name I still can’t pronounce right) was crunchy as well with a finger licking drippy sauce. I love messy burgers and this one is right on top of my list. You get beer and wine here as well, which in my opinion is the perfect accompaniment to some might fine burgers with a twist.
Hayley
One of the best burger shops and customer service in Auckland. We got 3 burgers very nicely done. As I was pregnance the staff offered vegan Mayo sauce which taste amazing.
Emma Gils
Outstanding burgers. Juicy meat pattie. Crispy bacon. Oozing cheddar. Beautifully soft bun. Burger perfection in my books!<br/><br/>Oh, and the slaw is pretty too.
Paki
Food was nice but don’t think it was quite worth what we dished out. Also was expecting there to be Tiger beer since this was Asian fusion so had to settle for a craft beer on tap. 3/5 for wonderful service and those litty banana something donuts

I have been obsessed with this restaurant ever since it opened! I love the place so much I even just recently had my 16th Birthday there. <br/>The burgers and sides at this place is to die for! I absolutely am in love with their food! The restaurant itself is really cool with lots of cool lights and decorations. The staff there are super friendly and remembers you if you come in more than once, which I obviously do. The manager is the nicest person in the restaurant industry. I was telling her how much I loved the place that she gave me a free voucher. <br/>10/10 recommend this place, it’s the best!
Franco Renato
Great restaurant and I really love the little outdoor section at the back of the restaurant! Burger is not bad but way too expensive for a burger...$13-$14 per burger for this price range their burgers are very small....probably will not go again tho
Nukualofa
Another excellent asian fusion. they hv very nice burger, love the kimcheese burger....very unique. staffs are very friendly. i would definitely go back n try other dishes.

Food: <br/>Worth every buck! Deliciousness every single bite of my galbi burger. And my bibimbap slaw.<br/>Definitely need to go back to try more.<br/><br/>Service:<br/>Good, helpful lady/gent explaining the menu. <br/><br/>Environment/vibe:<br/>Awesome, gets crowded but still feel chillax.

I’ve heard about tiger burger and their unique Korean fusion style burgers, and always wanted to try. Luckily for me, my friend was also keen so we proceeded to visit on a chilly Thursday evening. <br/><br/>It’s hidden away in Grey Lynn, I swear I’ve passed this place multiple times but only just noticed the neon lights and tiger sign. <br/><br/>They serve a variety of burgers from beef to tofu, while I opted for the pulled pork cooked to perfection. The slaw was also well flavoured with a hint of spicy Korean style sauce and the fried chicken is a must try!<br/><br/>I would highly recommend this restaurant, great food combined with great service.
Kylie
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this place for a long time but never made my way out before. <br/><br/>I got the Gang-jeong burger and K-Fries and my partner got the Softshell Crab burger which was the special. <br/><br/>My burger was quite nice but not really spicy at all, definitely wished that I added the Korean spicy option. My partner said the Softshell Crab burger was quite good too, I didn’t have any because I don’t like seafood. The K-fries were decent but I felt they were a tad expensive for what they were. <br/><br/>The staff were really nice though, friendly and attentive. Food didn’t take too long to come out. I love the atmosphere of the place too, nice chill vibe.

Second time I've been here, can see the place has been further developed and the use of space and seating is real nice.Firstly, the pros:- Fried chicken is great as always- Environment and ambiance, as mentioned above<br/>- Old Boy burger was alright I thought<br/><br/>The con:- The Soft shell crab burger has put me off seafood for a long time. The outside of the crab was good and better than I expected for what I'm used to with soft shell crab. However, when getting to the middle, it was soggy and fishy - the mush mixing with hard pieces of shell, alfalfa sprouts (the burger didn't benefit from these) to make it sadly gag inducing.  Its a pity, that after eating so much of the burgers outside, having the centre being ruined, it also makes it tricky for me to ask for a refund when I've already done some damage to it. So I left it, and ate the bun.
Love The Experience, Love The Brand.
Dropped in with my wife on the way home as we both wanted a quick burger. Had a Uber eats tiger burger 9 months ago and loved it so popped in. <br/>Loved the double fried chicken burger. Had a ok amount of heat and great crunch. <br/>Will go again.
Calvin
Tiger burger serves an interesting take on Korean fusion. Their place also looks super aesthetics! The staff here are super friendly and everything is just so enjoyable!<br/><br/>Food- 9.5/10<br/>Service- 10/10<br/>Aesthetics- 10/10

To be fair my expectations were very high prior to my visit so I do apologise for the low rating. Me and my partner ventured here today and it’s a great establishment. Great service as we were greeted and seated upon arrival, served water with glasses and shortly after our orders were taken. I tried the cola and personally I’m not a fan but each to their own right. The presentation of the food was amazing. The Fried Chicken my partner ordered was great however I think the coating could do with a kick. The chips were okay, hot & fresh but nothing special. I didn’t like the mayo much and I just think some seasoning options would do wonders as well as just having salt and pepper on the tables. Now the gem - The Chicken Burger. It looked delicious, however I wasn’t won over. It was smaller than I had imagined and with a flame beside it in on the menu I was ready for some heat, especially after also requesting Korean Spicy for an extra $1.50. The sauce and mayo for myself lacked heat and were just sweet and it took over the experience for me. A sweet small burger with some plain fresh fries and a soda I wished was Coca-Cola.

Awesome! We came here on a Saturday night but it was not too busy. Cool design. Service was friendly and very quick. Got all of our food within 5 minutes I think. We order the K-fries, Old boy burger and slaw. My bf enjoyed his food but for me it was a bit salty. Overall everything was good. Definitely will come back for more.
Ananth Ayyar
This place no run of the mill burger joint. The taste and customer service is 11/10. I definitely recommend getting their Gang Jeong chicken burger with the extra tiger spicy. Never tasted anything like it before. The Seolful bites were pretty average for fried chicken but the burgers here are definitely something unique and good sized.<br/><br/>Only draw back was the place we were seated as it was a bit cramped but there is seating in the back that I would ask to sit at next time I go. Don't let the seating stop you from going. I think the price is worth the food they offer. Will be returning for the burgers
Danny
I have to give it to the folks at Tiger Burger. I am a bit of a burger aficionado and I have tried almost every burger in every major city in New Zealand and Tiger probably has the best burgers. I absolutely love the Kimcheese and every time I have one, I feel like I should order another one! The combination of the aged beef, cheese and kimchi makes for a taste unlike any other burger in town. The service is fantastic too! It's my aim this year to try every burger on their menu!
Austin
We tried Tiger Burger yesterday for the first time. We tried the Double Kimcheese Burger, Gang-Jeong (double fried chicken) Burger and chips with pork belly and mayo. All of the food was good but my pick was the Kimcheese.<br/><br/>We also tried the Garage Project Fungazi 2% beer - I generally like the Garage Project beers but I don’t think I will be having another Fungazi.<br/><br/>The service is friendly and very efficient.<br/><br/>We will be back

We decided to pop in after several months since we have been back and the kimchi burger hit the spot again plus we had the vege burger and also the noodle dish which was recently introduced , washed down with some pimms as we missed the English drink ! Great comfort food , nice friendly staff and good selection of drinks but the tap beer was out last night hence the pimms , highly recommended if you are around the other side of grey Lynn !

Ever had food that speaks to your heart and seol? Well this place is it. This place is a straight 4.5/5<br/>The layout here is freaking awesome and i absolutely love the alleyway seat decor. The service was really good too 👌<br/>Ordered the kfries, kimcheese burger, gang jeong and the soulful bites. They were all seriously incredible i recommend getting all of these off their menu.<br/>The gang jeong was super spicy with the addition of "make it korean spicy". Spicy but so goooood
Tricia McQuoid
I tried both of the vege burgers and they were amazing.  I especially loved the Dubu burger and the K-Fries.  This place does Fusion well, creating new and amazing flavours.

4.5! Almost perfect rating AMAZING! <br/>Burgers are officially my new favourite thing! The Korean spicy sauce is everything you could ask for in a burger. We had great service with super friendly staff. <br/>The fires were nice and crispy and they remained crispy the whole time, very fresh food! <br/><br/>It can get really busy so you could be waiting 5-10mins.
Froyo🍦
Was pleasantly surprised with how good and delicious all the food was! The burgers are really tasty and go well with either the shoestring or K-fries. However, the bibimbap slaw was quite different and I'm not sure as to how I feel about it. The place is quite nice especially if you sit in the outside/sheltered garden area in the back. Definitely worth trying once!
August Hislop
Amazing burgers, consistently good. I only ever order the same burger because im vegetarian, but damn it is the best veggie burger i have ever had. The fries with the sesame mayo are delicious and there is a great selection of beer!
Bambi
Went there for a birthday dinner and it was so so so AMAZING. It was my first time trying kimchi and I love it. I ordered the hoisin bbq beef burger and kimcheese fries so good!!!!

Food- The food here is delicious. they have a small menu but do it well. The chicken burger is to die for, the buns are always perfectly toasted and the fried chicken is crispy on the outside and super moist on the inside.<br/>Ambience- The place is tidy and well presented<br/>Service- Service can be a bit slow but the food is worth the wait.<br/><br/>The reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars is due to the slow service and also due to the kimchi fries. They are tasty and well presented but have been under seasoned the last few times I've been there.<br/><br/>Overall I definitely recommend this place if you're in the mood for delicious flavourful burgers and some yummy Soju
Ayame
The chicken was amazing and service was good. Dumplings burger was just okay but enjoyed our experience and would go back to try other food :)
Mmmfood
These guys make some really tasty burgers full of unique flavours. My favourite is the Galbi burger. While the ambience of the place is nothing out of the ordinary, the staff were very friendly.

Went here with some friends last night, it's hard to drive by this place as it is definitely the nicest looking place on the street. It has and inside area and an outdoor area round the back. <br/><br/>The service was good, they were really busy so waited to be seated. It was really fast ordering the lady took our drinks order then came back with them before taking our food order. <br/><br/>Everything tasted amazing! We got a burger each ANF some kimchi fries then to finish tried some of the donuts! So good!<br/><br/>Would highly recommend trying this place as the fusion works really well! Definitely will be back!
Zana Covich
Amazing menu! I always try something new and am never let down when it comes out. I also love how there's a cute outdoor area to chill at. And the western and Korean mix vibe really well together 🔥👌

Finally got to try this place after seeing a lot of photos on Instagram. <br/><br/>We were seated in the outdoor area which I really liked. The waitress was friendly, although there seemed to be inconsistency because I heard other tables being told what the “special burger” for the day was but this was not advised to us. <br/><br/>We had the chicken burger, shoestring fries and the doughnuts. My partner enjoyed the burger more than I did (we had he same one) because he likes his strong flavours and absolutely loved the chicken. It was not bad but it would have been much nicer to have more lettuce, mayo or something a little sour to balance the flavours as it just seemed too salty for me. I think my expectations may have been a little high given the popularity of this place. <br/><br/>We enjoyed the fries, especially the sauce which was very nice. I wanted to try the donuts since they seemed a little different. They were okay but not for me - they were far too sweet (as the inside was like a sticky sweet dough) and it was coated in sugar, it also came with a dipping sauce which just made it even more sweet. <br/><br/>Overall it is a cool place and my partner did say he would like to come back, but the flavours just weren’t for me.
Lizzie
went there on a rainy evening with 2 others. We were given a table that was half inside & half outside and when we requested to move into the courtyard, were told that those tables were reserved for tables of 2 or 6 only (even though restaurant was not full) and then waitress asked whether there was something wrong with the table she had given us which made my friend feel awkward so service could have been more accommodating. However, the burger (kimcheese) was yum and unique. I love kimchi so was happy there was plenty. The K-fries were interesting, good but not my favourite. Am keen to go back and try the fried chicken one though!

Tiger Burger is a burger joint I’ve wanted to visit for ages and I finally got around to it! Lovely little restaurant with cool graphics on the walls and friendly staff! Burgers were delicious and very unique. Really enjoyed the Korean twist on western food. The food took a while but the staff were so kind and gave us the fries for free! Overall good first experience here and will be back soon.

We’ve actually had Tiger Burger for takeout one crazy-busy (and rainy) Friday, and were super impressed by their scrumptious burgers (too big to fit into their takeaway boxes, they were secured half-closed with tape) and interesting fusion-korean flavours. If you like the idea of kim-cheese fries and Gangnam fried chicken, this’ll be your jam.<br/>The chapsal doughnuts are a must-try – sticky, malty glutinous rice cakes deep-fried and dipped in house-made condensed coconut milk — hamana hamana. Check out their Instagram for their special burgers, which change weekly. Our petition is to bring back the bibimbun burger, which features a runny egg baked right into the brioche bun. What sorcery, what mouth-watering sorcery… <br/> Check out our individual food reviews here: husk.co.nz/lunches/tiger-burger-june-2017

There is a lot of hype about this place so I finally came to see what all the fuss is about. I ordered the Kimcheese burger. It was delicious and just the perfect amount of heat. Yes you pay a bit more than maccas but it's worth it. Plus they serve you at the table and are nice to you. Next time I'll come back for the chicken.
Miss E
Amazing! Love this place. Delicious food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit. Be prepared to wait though as it can get quite busy. The fried chicken is highly recommended!

Saw heaps of good reviews on this place and it was good to see this place getting all hyped by foodies since I am from Korea too. <br/><br/>Finally visited this place tonight for dinner. I ordered kimcheese burger, gang jeong burger, shoe string fries and soulful bites. <br/><br/>In my opinion, kimcheese burger is slightly overprice. The burger only has sautéed kimchi, thin beef patty and cheddar and it's $14. Oh also the menu said it would have gochujang mayo but I didn't get any flavour of the mayo in my burger. I opened my burger to see but there was a tiny bit of mayo on the top bun only. It tasted okay but I wouldn't want to get it again for its price. Simply its a good cheese burger with some kimchi in <br/><br/>However, gang-jeong burger was worth its price, $15. I highly recommend you to pay a dollar more and get this burger rather than kimcheese burger. It's big in size and very tasty. A big piece of friend chicken in the burger was pretty juicy. <br/><br/>Soulful bite's yang-nyum sauce is similar to ones that can be found in yang nyum chicken in Korea. It was good but it wasn't like amazingly good. Coat (batter) of the chicken was too thick and hard (less chicken meat inside) unlike Korean traditional chicken so it was hard to finish the dish.<br/><br/>Fries were crispy and sesame mayo was quite good. <br/><br/>Overall, it was a good experience and the food was not bad too. If they were a bit cheaper I would visit here more often but for now I don't think I will come back for a while.

This is the second time I have had Tiger burger. I had a Kimcheese burger and chips - those were the worst chips I've have had. So badly overcooked i couldn't eat them. This is after a wait longer than the 20 min the online order suggested. As usual, the burger is pretty good. 7/10. Chips 2/10. Experience 5/10. Not worth while for the effort, but great place and burgers previously are good.
Mocha
Tried for the first time today and already want to go back. The flavours are amazing in these burgers, definitely worth the price. The kimchi works so well in the kimcheese burger. The K fries were also so great!
Emma
Came here for dinner before a talk at auckland uni and it was a really nice unique experience. We had been eyeing this place for awhile so it was great to finally have an opportunity to come. We ordered the KBBQ burger, the Gang Jeong burger and k fries. The KBBQ burger was amazing, the texture was soft and light but beautifully complemented by some sort of crunchy nut (peanut?) in the sauce. The chicken burger was also really tasty and the chicken was crispy and juicy. The kfries were decent, im not the biggest fan of kimchi but I still enjoyed them. <br/><br/>Service at this place was lovely, quick and efficient. The waitress kindly explained to us the different options and promotions. They were also accommodating for our request to have both burgers cut in half so we could share them. <br/><br/>Overall I'd probably come back but it is a little bit on the pricier side for burgers ($17 for the beef burger) although definitely worth it to try it at least once.

This place is something special! <br/>The food is amazing and the atmosphere matches perfectly. The decor is very cool (perfect place if you want to impress some friends or a date). <br/>My boyfriend and I had the Gang-Jeong Burger which is a fried chicken burger topped with pickled mu! What a delicious combination! <br/>We also had the Kimcheese, which appears to be a very popular burger (lots of people had ordered it) and it was amazing! I love cheese and I love Korean flavours so it was perfect! <br/>Lastly we tried the Seoulful chicken bites, the batter was crispy and the chicken was juicy and tender! Highly recommend. The staff was very friendly and the service was very fast. Thank you so much Tiger Burger for the wonderful food and wonderful vibes!

Been here 8 times now. Consistently 5 out of 5 burgers every time. Their online ordering and pick-up works without a fault. I absolutely love the kimcheese burger. The bun is perfectly soft, yet with a layer of crunchy where it's been grilled; lovely, tasty sauce and cheese; AMAZING kimchi (I think it's made in store); and beef cooked to the optimal medium-rare pink. And the sesame mayo on the chips is smooth and delicious - really it's fusion done properly, the flavours combine so well together. Writing this review is making me so hungry for more... Of course everyone has their favourites, but this for me is the best burger in Auckland by FAR. If you like kimchi, you will love this place.

AMAZING FOOD AND QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE! Absolutely love the vibe here and the food is delicious! The staff here are really friendly and genuine, plus the interior design is really unique! When we came here, we got a seat straight away and although the food was a bit of a wait... it was delicious! The burger buns are so soft and crisp! Definitely planning on coming back!

Seen some great reviews of this place and we like a good burger so we checked it out. Service and ambience are of a good standard. We had a couple of the kimcheese and fries. They came out in good time, hot and delicious, they really hit the spot. Definitely on my top 10 in town.
Alex
We visited early on a Saturday evening and were seated out the back under the warmth of a heater. We really enjoyed our experience, the quick friendly service, good variety of drinks and overall atmosphere. The chicken seoul was divine and the homemade mayo topped it off. The burgers were also delicious and nice and fulling. Having been to Happy Boy which is quite similar in concept, I can say that Tiger Burger takes the cake :)

Extremely impressed with this place, wanted to come for a while and maaaaan it's good. A bit of a twist on your average American, tomato beef burger. But if you like peanuts and Korean flavours this place is bomb! Beautiful bread, brioche buns and I can't rave more about the flavours and sauces in that burger. <br/>Venue is really good, big and busy. Really good fast service. <br/>Definitely will be back, wanna try everything on that menu.<br/><br/>Updated 12/09/17 <br/>Awesome place, best service I've had. Such cool staff really nice and helpful. The food is so bloody good. The chicken bites on the entree menu are SO GOOD. They only have 1 item on there dessert menu but if you like doughnuts I would urge you to try! This place has happy hour too! I went on a Tuesday night so 6-7pm was their happy hour then. Try this place out! Amazing.

Very fresh food but pork belly in burger was totally undercooked and very fatty. Pork belly should be crispy but this was all a heavy glug of fat. French fries overpriced for just shoe string fries. Noisy atmosphere with lots of people drinking around the bar, but the food is less than desirable.

Eventhough I had just finished dining in Ponsonby to some fantastic Italian cuisine, I was extremely motivated to try this place out with all the great reviews that I had heard from fellow reviewers.<br/><br/>Such a great start I must say. Tigers are the national symbols of Korea and to have named the restaurant in this way really caught my attention. Finally! A restaurant that stands proud of Korean heritage which is beautifully stained throughout the whole restaurant whether it be on the walls, or even on the waiters' shirts through texts.<br/><br/>Purely for review purposes, only three items were ordered: The gang Jeong burger, seoulful bites and the chapsal doughnuts.<br/><br/>The burger hit the spot. Nice big chunks of chicken well coated and fried with a nice covering of the dak gang jeong sauce (quite similar to the recipe that I often use) worked very well. The spicy sauce also fused beautifully. The downside? For the price, it would have been fantastic to have included fries. Even small amounts would have been perfect.<br/><br/>However, the items that made this review a 3.5 and not higher were the remaining two.<br/><br/>The Soulful bites, for its price, was much too small in portion. The sauce itself was average, too salty for my taste and it did not bring out the flavours that that I would experience in Korea. The fried coating was simply way too hard. From my personal taste there was too much soy sauce, not enough chilli paste and simply overcooked.<br/><br/>The chapsal doughnut was OK. However, the excessive amounts of sugar coating hindered the overall experience. The white sauce however suited perfectly.<br/><br/>This brings me to the service. I must say, one of the main highlights of this review is the service. Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. We were greeted with great big smiles when we first entered the premises. We had to wait a little while but soon enough was directed indoors. The waiters checked up on us to enquire about our needs and the experience which wasn't done too frequently, yet made us feel welcomed and looked after. Honestly, the service I must say was fantastic.<br/><br/>Overall, nice ambience, great service but certain improvements required in the menu. Is worth giving it a try.
Daopeksou
Kimchi burger takeaway .. very tasty even after half an hour!! But I'd recommend to eat it when freshly made so the burger would not loose much of its kimchi flavour .. the staff was friendly, the service was prompt & the premises was clean.
Hope
K so i am digging the Dobu but PALEEeeeezzE bring back the GOGUMA please like even for a lil bit I will pay a twenty or more hehehehe, It was really the bestest juciest yummiest crunchiest burger ever I only got to have 3 before it disappeared 😭 #canisignapetition

Hands down the best burger I've ever ingested. Galbi Jr was my favourite. Not a huge fan of the kimchi fries though, too much sauce and not enough actual kimchi.

Lightings not the best but we got the Galbi beef burgers and the seoulful bites which are these delicious morsels of fried boneless chicken. (Pretty pricy at $16) <br/>My partner got the burger with two beef patties for an extra $5. <br/>The buns taste very buttery and they are very soft, personal preference these buns aren't my favourite but my partner really liked them. <br/>The cheese is perfectly melted and the pickles really help to cut through the meat. <br/>The chicken bites are best eaten straight away. <br/>The service here is pretty good too. <br/>

Cool modern spin on Korean here. The Chicken burger worked really really well. The beef not so much with whole roasted peanuts inside not really adding anything beneficial to the overall taste and would be much nicer crushed or as a sauce inside we thought.<br/><br/>The Kimchi K fries were ok without going into too much detail. However all I will say is we were stil left craving real Kimchi!<br/><br/>Do try the Crispy chicken burgers HIGHLY recommended.

Easily one of the tastiest burger joints around! Both times I've been here my burgers have been insanely good, firery and so tasty. I opted for the lettuce bun, unlike other places they don't hold back on the sauces. Loaded k fries are top notch too. Really not a bad word to say
Cara
Simply sensational burgers. I have been three times and I still haven't tried the fries because the burgers are so delicious and have all my attention! Kimcheese and the vegetarian one are out of this world.

I went here on a Thursday evening and was lucky to be seated at a table immediately, because afterwards there were teams waiting by the door! My friends and I tried the Kimcheese and Gang-Jeong burger with the Kimcheese fries.<br/><br/>Food 5/5<br/>To be honest I was quite disappointed with the size of the burger when it was served, but I had really underestimated it! The burgers were really filling and they were the best burgers I've ever had! The combination of all the flavours... cannot get it into words. You MUST try. The patty in the Kimcheese burger was cooked perfectly which melted in my mouth. The buns were also cooked perfectly; fluffy in the middle but crisp on the edges. The chicken in the Gang-Jeong burger was also perfect; it was kept crispy right til the end.<br/>The only thing I would complain about if I had to would be the portion of kimchi in the Kimcheese fries. A little more kimchi would have been perfect :)<br/><br/>Service 5/5<br/>I have nothing to complain about the service. I think it was one of the best service I've received in a long time. The staff were all very friendly and looked happy to be there! We were also told about the special of the week once we got our menus which was great.<br/><br/>Ambience 5/5<br/>The first impression I got of the place was that it was very neat, tidy, and minimal! The interior was very classy and sophisticated which I loved.<br/><br/>I would definitely be back soon for more Tiger Burgers!!! Thanks for the great experience! :)

Love! Such good burgers. The chicken burger is next level, so delicious! The kimichi fries are bomb as well. It's really reasonably priced. Good selection of alcoholic beverages as well. The play sweet tunes it's a Hella good vibe. Service is great. Defiantly recommend!

Ok, I'll admit it, I was skeptical. Although I love the individual constituent parts, there was always something that held me back from combining them all in a kimchi cheese burger but all I can say is wow! Definitely one of the best burgers I've ever eaten: quality ingredients, cooked to perfection, strong on flavour - incredible. The bosam burger was very good too but the kimcheese stole the show. Bravo.

Browsing Zomato for a takeaway and came across this gem. Menu is simple but also simply delicious. My partner and I ended up ordering what seems like half the menu and the guy who answered the phone got everything I said and timed our pick up perfectly so kudos for excellent takeaway service from ordering to pick up. I got the Kimcheese and he got the Bossam as well as fries, seouful bites and the chapsal doughnuts for dessert. The Kimcheese burger was bursting with spicy delicious flavour and I loved every bite! I tried a bite of my partner's and my only complaint was that there didn't seem to be enough flavour. The pork was cooked fine and was tender but was just ever so slightly lacking. It didn't subtract from the rest of the meal whatsoever though. The fried seoulful bites of chicken were delish and the dipping sauces we got with the meal just heightened the experience.  The doughnuts were SO sweet and delish I guess I do have one more complaint, that they didn't include more! The sugary coating on fluffy doughy balls dipped into the sweet condensed coconut milk sauce complimented one another perfectly! Will be back for more to try the other burgers and for seconds of it all! On a side note for aesthetics, the actual restaurant was minimilstic but super stylish in its simplicity. The containers weren't flimsy and had tigers printed in the paper lining them. These little details are something I really enjoyed and made the takeaway seem a step above. Thanks for the experience guys!
Kiwi Eats Asia
Absolutely delicious, not a bite to complain about. I had the delcious pork belly burger very rich but just delightful. The buns are so perfect - toasted golden and crispy - best I've had in akl. The chicken burger was also inhaled by my partner - crispy filet and super tender, and a huge piece. For me the classic kimcheese stole the show - that's what I'm getting next time instead of stealing bites from my friend. I felt honoured to have that burger patty in my mouth. Excuse me drooling, seems I'm ready for my next visit. Oh also the kimchi fries were yummy! Just wish there were some special non alcoholic Korean style drinks but I'll settle for a burger and the amazing atmosphere :) basically what I'm trying to say is go on and get yourself a burger - you deserve it.

If you want to know what a perfect cheeseburger is, go to Tiger Burger. I've been there several times. I've gotten kimcheese burgers (singles), kimcheese burgers (doubles), and chicken burgers. Service is very friendly, there's seating out back. And I will be back.

Usual takeaway spot for me usually call it in as its faster. Lovely friendly staff always welcome and answer any questions . mostly get the Kim cheese burger which is the bomb and a fav of mine so usually what we go for the special burger can be quite good too but not as great value . love the kimchi fries also nice crispy ones
Matt John Olds
Great friendly and smart service. Fun relaxed atmosphere, unique , fresh and delicious food. Chips are extra crispy, milkshakes are great and have unique flavours. Went to celebrate my 18th and was very happy with my experience

The food here is delicious. The menu is very simple which is great. The burger is a decent size and not huge. Even the lettuce burger tasted great with the patty itself. The donuts are amazing and must try. Its sticky deliciousness inside. Even though im not a kimchi fan, the kimcheesw burger won me over.
I_like_pickles
What a fantastic fusion feast! It's a really successful combination of cuisines. I love the Korean flavours mixed into a burger. <br/><br/>The fries are to die for! Yum! Love the toppings and sauces over the crispy fries.<br/><br/>Portion sizes are good and the fillings are tasty. Nicely presented.

Came here last Saturday afternoon. The food was good. Had the special burger of the day along with soulful bites and kimcheese fries.<br/>The special burger having a chicken and kumara with cashew butter sauce was slightly on the bland side. The patty was tasty not sure if it went well with the sauce.<br/>Kimcheese fries were good but slightly on the costlier side, the chicken in soulful bites was tasty especially the sauce that came with it.<br/>Would recommend this place if you are burger fan.

Came here Friday night with the flatmates. Was debating going korean BBQ or Burger Burger then volla saw this place. The highlight is def the burger.<br/><br/>THE FOOD<br/>The Standard fries (5/5) - Fries were fresh and crisp, sauce complimented it real well. Great value in terms of portion, quality & price.<br/><br/>The Kimchi fries (3.5/5) - This one was OK. I think the sell of it was the novelty of being fusion. The portion of fries is smaller then the standard and $4 more. Not the best but maybe worth the experience I suppose.<br/><br/>The Kimcheese Burger (5/5) - Being a fat pig, I added an extra patty but the burger was amazing. What I later realised after taking a bite of my mates burger (yes I know, fat pig) was that the flavour was better without the extra patty. I saw our neighbours order a chicken burger and that looked amazing too (buyers remorse)<br/><br/>Seuolful Bites (4/5) - For me this was a 5/5 but I always ask whoever I'm with to tell me their ratongs and average it out. Fresh chicken and awesome sauce.<br/><br/>THE ENVIRONMENT<br/>The environment was chill, inside is a little packed. We were seated at ouside at the back which was really nice, my only reccomendation is that the place add outdoor heaters as it got abit chilli (this was a detractor for my score).<br/>Type of music they played included lorde & Ryan Enzed & Helen Corry (She Said)<br/><br/>THE SERVICE<br/>The waitress was really awesome and friendly. It was busy and she did come in later to apologize for our fiod being late. I forget to time but I did count that our food came out in 10 songs after ordering.<br/><br/>WAS IT WORTH IF?<br/>Good price, good food, good protion, long wait, so if you can handle the wait then yeah its worth it.
Kiana Smith
Kimcheese burger and shoestring fries were delicious! The portion of fries was really good for the value and a bonus if you like crispy fries, which I do 😊 Lots of seating but if it's crowded you may have to wait a bit for the food. It's worth the wait though!<br/><br/>Favourite things: taste of the burger (perfect fusion) and those fries mmmm. Kimchee fries were ok but not as good as the standard fries :P<br/><br/>Could use some work: heaters out back would add to the value for the garden seating.
HayShanna
Dined in, here, last night and brought my son. I didn't know this, but it turns out they have kids' burgers -which are just plain -without any hot sauce. I thought this was great, as the adult burgers are quite big and so he could still eat with us. <br/>He also had a rose lemonade -a pink lemonade which was made with all botanical ingredients -fancy!<br/>I had the chicken burger -it had a good balance of hot sauce and a sweet brioche bun. Lots of different textures -spicy pickled radish 'noodles' and crunchy chicken. I also like how you can add extra bacon to your burger.

Wow. <br/><br/>Tiger burger takes the simplicity of knowing what you are good at and just rocking it. I had heard the stories of food truck success and had to see it first hand.<br/><br/>The Korean fusion of all the food was balanced perfectly with the pork belly burger taking the top spot. The chicken burger was nothing shy of awesome too and the fries with sesame mayo are something you would tell your mum about.<br/><br/>The waiters were all super friendly but need to be brought up to speed on what is actually in the dishes served rather than just saying they are delicious. This was the reason we put 4.5.<br/><br/>The sangria was $27 for a small jug that honestly just tasted like Ribena so wouldn't recommend.<br/><br/>Other than that, definitely will be back with more mates in the near future.<br/><br/>Keep up the good work!<br/><br/>

Tiger Burger: Korean fusion brought by a couple joining the best of both of their backgrounds. Tucked in the midst of the Grey Lynn shops, it’s great to finally have a fast food option that caters for people to sit in. It’s frustrating when you want to try all the yummy takeaways but live too far away to take it all the way home to then eat it cold!

Dropped by 30 mins before close. They were only doing takeaway so we got a Kimcheese and Goguma to go.<br/><br/>The burgers were simply divine. All the flavors meshed together really well and the portions were quite generous. I was skeptical about the shiitake and sweet potato combo for the Goguma, but was pleasantly surprised. Neither flavor was overpowering; just a subtle sweetness which went well with it's crispy texture. As for the Kimcheese, the beef patty was superb. Cooked medium rare, it was perfectly seasoned and juicy.<br/><br/>Wish we could've dined in but always next time. Will definitely be back for more :)

This place is busy assssss even on a Sunday night. It's quite small in here but there is outdoor seating which is great for the summer not so much when it's cold and windy 🌀 service here is great and attentive. Came here with some friends for dinner and we did have to wait about 20-30mins for a table but it was totally worth it. <br/><br/>We ordered the Kimcheese Fries and Seoulful Bites for the entrée. The fried chicken was very nice. The batter was nice and crispy and it was very juicy -not dry and meaty. The fries had a nice touch of kimchi flavour and kimchi on it but otherwise morning too special about it.<br/><br/>I ordered the special of the week which was the soft shell crab burger and that was delicious. Burger bun was soft and it wasn't messy to eat. Really enjoyed the burger. <br/><br/>We had to try the dessert cos it looked very enticing on the menu. We ordered one each from the menu. The Chapsal Doughnuts were average. Nothing special - just a different filling inside. I didn't try the sundae but it looked nice 👀

We came at Saturday night, it was kind of busy but we were served very quickly. The staff was nice and friendly:-)<br/><br/>We ordered the Gang jeong and kimcheese burgers, kimcheese fries and donut for dessert. Have to say, the burgers were pretty unique and wonderful! Love their homemade sauce, a little bit spicy but attractive. The meat was done just right. To me the buns were wonderful. It was not the one you had at fast food restaurant. These was soft and sweet:-)<br/>The fries was Ok, though I thought the sauce was too much and salty. But it was a good idea to mix fries with kimchi:-)<br/><br/>The donut was a GEM!! The outside was so crunchy, with a hint of coconut sugar taste. The inside was perfectly chewy, which can let you to taste it carefully. And the sauce, just right! Not too sweet, and match the donut perfectly. If they would open a separate shop for this donut, I would definitely be the first customer:-)

Awesome little Korean inspired burger joint. Not much to fault the quality of the burger and food made. Had an amazing burger experience with some delicious Korean fried chicken. Their sangria is also top! Yum. Thanks for a great night. Service was great and food was just as awesome! Definitely recommended if you love a bit of burger and Korean bites.

Just got a takaway order from here based on a recommendation from a friend.<br/>Seriously yum....well that's an understatement!!<br/>We got the Gang-jeong burger, Seoulful bites, fries and Chapsal doughnuts. <br/>Yum yum yum burger and simply delicious chicken bites.......<br/>Oh. My. Goodness. The doughnuts......crunchy outer and gooey centre....wow!!!!<br/>The dipping sauces are amazing!!<br/>We will be back, will eat in next time as it looks like there's plenty of seating inside, more than what it looks like from the road. <br/><br/>Thanks team, an excellent effort :)

Heard quite a bit about this Korean fusion burger place. I always knew that kimchi and cheese was already a everyday norm fusion that's been cooking up a storm on the internet cooking shows. <br/>Still I was surprised how nice the burgers were! Not over the top, simple and on point! <br/>We had the kimchi cheese and the fried chicken burger and also the side of fried chicken pieces with mayo and yangyang sauce. <br/>I really enjoy the kimchi cheese which consist of only the 3 components; stir fried kimchi, thick layer of ages chaddar cheese and of course the medium rare patty. All this in a nice soft bun that is sightly toasted on the open side with a generous amount of butter! The taste was amazing! <br/>The chicken burger was not bad, personally I didn't like the batter for the chicken. I felt like it was a bit thick and not flavour in the chicken itself. It was complemented with pickled radish and shredded lettuce. <br/>The chicken bites were great too! It had the same batter as the chicken burger but it was very well seasoned. <br/>Downside is that there is no tap beer, but that's personal opinion.

Burgers with a korean twist. The restaurant offers foods with their take on korean dishes. kimchi and cheese (kimcheese) on fries and burgers?! It may seem unappetizing, but for me and those who are fans of korean dishes and spicy stuffs, then you should go check it out. a modern take on traditional flavours of Korea.
Vinmanrules
This is the first time I tried Korean style burgers. And the fusion of a burger and kimchi is delicious!! The beef patty was perfect and juicy. I would recommend trying this place out and will be coming back again.

Asian fusion cuisines are very trendy these days, however, this place does it to perfection.<br/><br/>Located in Grey Lynn, the interior is actually much more spacious than the outside suggests. It was minimally decorated, but in the evening the string-lights and the industrial style decoration provided the place with a cosy, vibrant, and romantic atmosphere.<br/><br/>We were attended to very quickly despite the place being super busy on a Friday night. All the staffs that we have encountered were super friendly and made us feel at home.<br/><br/>Although the menu was simplistic, everything on it sounded delicious that making a decision was difficult! Husband was not actually hugely hungry before we arrived, but he could not resist ordering a side of fried chicken. It had the perfect crunch yet still tender and moist on the inside. The sauces - one Korean inspired which tasted of sweet soy and chilli was very rich and unique, and was complimented well by the more mild honey garlic mayo. <br/><br/>I have heard that the 'Kimcheese fries' was their signature dish so I had to try it out, and thank goodness I did. It was chips with a kick! The kimchi was very well made, and gave the chips a hot & sour flavour, the cheese sauce made the overall dish not overly spicy. Even my husband, who normally could not tolerate kimchi because of the heat, thoroughly enjoyed it. If you ever visit place, you have to do yourself a favour and order this dish!<br/><br/>Being plant-based, I was lucky that the special of the week was vegetarian - deep fried cottage cheese, grilled pineapple ring, grapes, black lentil curry, mayo. It was my first time having an indian-inspired burger, and I think it would not be the last! The deep fried cottage cheese was delicious, the texture was similar to fried fish fillet. I thought grapes in a burger sounded strange but the truth was you could hardly taste it, the slight fruity sweetness just went very well with the curry. Definitely one of the best burgers that I have had in Auckland! <br/><br/>The only thing we did not enjoy as much was the chocolate ginger shake. The flavour was lovely and you could really taste the ginger. However, being inspired by Korean shaved ice, the texture is grainy and icy, not thick and creamy like how we like our milkshakes. This is just personal preference though!<br/>All in all, we had the most wonderful night thanks to the amazing food & service provided by Tiger Burger. I could truly say they are geniuses with combining flavours. I do not normally give such high ratings, but this place totally deserves it.
Marcella
If you love Korean food then you will love this burger joint. Everything in the menu is Korean inspired. We got the fried chicken burger and the pork belly burger as well as the Kim cheese fries. I personally liked the chicken burger better but my partner preferred his pork belly burger. Both were tasty tho. I thought the fries were average. It's quite an unusual flavour combination with the kimchi and weird sauces but it was still enjoyable. <br/>The highlight to me was how crispy the fried chicken was and the radish was a great addition to the burger. Next time I'll definitely be trying those donuts.
Ceara Burkhardt
Amazing burgers and sides and the service is friendly and helpful too. The prices are also really good and not at all overpriced. I will definitely be back. I had the shiitake mushroom and kumara party burger and it was by far the tastiest vegetarian burger I've ever had!

For those who love fast food with a little twist..then u should try this place. The burger is so delicious. Don't underestimate the size of the burger cause it's portion really fills you up.<br/><br/>If u like a little zest and spice on yr burger ...this place did a good job with the flavour without over doing it. <br/><br/>The service is quick and the staff is simply charming.<br/><br/>Oh and don't forget to order the milkshake and fries (to share) <br/><br/>If you want cheap then this might not be the place for you but if u really want good delicious food then this should be in your things to do list. 💙

Yumm! Yumm! Yumm!!!!!<br/>The flavours you can pack into one burger is incredible!<br/>The vegetarian burger is so damn good! Probably the best I have ever had. Great Korean fusion!

I've been wanting to try this place after reading good reviews for a few months now. Ended up eating here on a Thursday night, I am I love!<br/><br/>The place looked busy when we went around 7.30 but actually there's heaps of tables inside and a lovely courtyard too. <br/><br/>Between two of us, we had the kimcheese fries, a chicken burger, a pork belly burger, a rose lemonade( yumm!) and a yuzu shake. <br/><br/>The fries are great, a must order on every visit. I could probably eat a couple of portions by myself. Chicken burger-crispy, slightly spicy and very very tasty. Pork belly- perfectly cooked and delicious. I can't find any faults with the food. It was so good! <br/><br/>We were seated near the kitchen so I caught all the action-I was very entertained. At first I thought that the burgers looked a bit small but they turned out to be quite filling. Service was quick and friendly. <br/><br/>Can't wait to return to try the other burgers!
Roni Ramone
Pretty damn delicious food. The veggie burger is mushroom and kumara and so so so good. The fries are also really good, even though I don't normally like shoestring fries these were a cut above. The service was friendly and attentive and this was a great place to go with a group. Nice environment and great drink options. They weren't doing shakes tonight but I'm definitely coming back to try the chocolate ginger shake.
Britt Mann
Over Christmas I went twice in two days to have their special Christmas burger. Just goes to illustrate how good TB is! I love their kimcheese fries so much, they're practically a religious experience. Dangerous to have this beloved burger spot so close to my house. Love your work Tiger Burger.

Awesome burger joint! <br/><br/>This place was so busy when we first arrived, but the wait wasn't too long and the waiters were all very friendly.<br/><br/>We ordered the pork belly burger, vege burger, fried chicken and kimcheese fries! The burgers are on the smaller side but the sides were huge!<br/><br/>The buns were soft, and the pork belly I had was cooked perfectly! The sides were both amazing!<br/><br/>Service was great also, staff were very smiley and attentive! <br/><br/>Very keen to return and try more of their menu!
Charlene Weaver
BEST burger I've had in a long time!!! I got the fried chicken burger and it was seriously good. They use chicken thigh so it was really tender, and the batter they use and technique to deep fry it was perfect because it was so nice and crunchy, not oily and soggy. It had a good level of spice to it and I loved the pickled daikon and sirracha sauce with it. <br/><br/>We tried both the deserts on the menu, the donuts and the sundae. Although simple to look at, the flavours were actually quite interesting and unique. The donuts were like an Asian sticky rice ball, but deep fried with a brown sugar syrup sauce. The sundae was one ice cream scoop on a bed of meringue crumbs and yuzu. My friend said the sundae tasted like soap, but I actually quite liked it. <br/><br/>I'll definately be back to try the rest of their burgers!

It all started back in high school, where a group of us would watch the same Korean drama over and over again. In one scene, the family makes kimchi. I had never seen anything like it and it was definitely a sight to watch! Prior to watching, I wasn’t accustomed to Korean cuisine and hadn’t even tried one single Korean dish. But the kimchi process was fascinating, and since that day, I have been (secretly) obsessed with Korean food and of course, kimchi. Cabbage never looked so good!
Blackpearl
We came here on a saturday afternoon and ordered their Kimcheese burger, Gang-Jeong burger and their Kimcheese fries. I liked the chicken burger more than the beef's, the kimcheese varieties taste quite unique and the fries especially left a subtle bitter taste after we finished our meal but all was good. The service was fast and attentive and overall we enjoyed our experience eating there.
ShoRt
This is a great fusion of Korean and western food! Their burgers are delicious with the kimchi salad that provides great flavours. I tried the bossam burger which is a slow cooked pork belly and loved it! My friend's Korean fried chicken burger was crispy but tender and beef burger was good too. I definitely enjoyed their Korean donuts too :) <br/><br/>However, I thought The fried chicken was average and kimcheese fries interesting. <br/><br/>The shop is bright and trendy! Very cool place. However I do think it is a little pricy for the small burger.
John Boyce
Super tasty! Staff were really friendly and attentive. Service was quick, food was excellent value for money will definitely be coming back again

Amazing little spot to eat at if you love burgers and have a soft spot for Korean cuisine. Great burgers that boast tones of flavour and that stand out from the rest. <br/><br/>I ordered the pork belly, which was delicious and rich! The kimchi fries were amazing along with the chicken bites which were as tender and juicy as anything.<br/><br/>Service was great and atmosphere was lax too.<br/><br/>Would definitely recommend for a tasty eat!<br/>

I saw on instagram that this place had kimichi cheese fries and I had to try it out for sure! It tasted just as good as it looked on instagram and the burgers were top notch too. <br/><br/>I was quite sad that they had run out of the pulled pork which i wanted to try but the chicken burger was good, nice crunchy pieces of chicken and the beef burger was ok (a bit salty for my liking and preferred the chicken). Would love to come back to try the other burgers.

Awesome taste and friendly service! Quite unexpected spot for such an exceptionally executed meal! If you are looking for modern (fusion cuisine) but very traditional (or historic tastr) at the same time, this is the place for you. Bring your mates and you won't be disappointed.

Went here for dinner with a couple of friends and we each tried a different burger - the pork belly, the chicken thigh and the mushroom + kumara patty. All of them got the thumbs up. If you don't like heat (ie you always order the butter chicken at an Indian restaurant) then best to avoid the chicken, I didn't find it too spicy, just enough as far as I was concerned. <br/><br/>We also had a plate of the Kimcheese fries and some Seoulful bites to share. The chicken in the bites was cooked in a similar manner to the chicken burger so skip the bites if you don't want to double up on the same flavors (but they are good so I didn't mind). The kimcheese fries was an interesting combo, they weren't overpoweringly chili or pickled so don't be scared if you've never tried kim chi, Korea's national dish, before.<br/><br/>3 burgers and 2 sides to share among 3 people was plenty (no room for dessert and I'd been looking forward to trying the donuts!) but you might want to add in another side if you were very hungry or a teenage boy.<br/><br/>The staff were friendly and helpful, and the fit-out is funky as per it's Grey Lynn location. It's not a big menu but what they have, they do well.
Whiskyncigars
Great burgers, innovative and awesome. good twist to the traditional burgers. <br/>I liek the home made kim chi too. great effort. <br/>the kim chi fries were great too. Good portion of pork belly for the price as well, <br/>highly recommended

Sorry Burgerburger but Tiger Burger is 100% our new absolute fave. We get the normal fries which are like real potatoes just shredded into super fine shoestring skin in tack and fried to absolute perfection crunchy and delicious the mayo that comes with them is quite concentrated so wouldn't recommend going in for a huge dunk or it may overpower, have heard the kimcheese fries are awesome but look like a whole meal in themselves so .. maybe we'll try those when the feels of could eat for an entire village are about. I don't know how they do it but nothing is greasy either, the fries and fried chicken are like the holy grail of deep fried perfection that don't leave you with the fatty aftertaste regrets, just moist tender crispy deliciousness. <br/>The burgers we've tried so far are the beef the fried chicken and the pork belly and I can't even tell you which is my fave they are all insanely unbelievably good the buns are so smoodgey and soft the kimichi adds so much it's interesting it's different it's flavourful. If you appreciate a good burger for a good price and quality over quantity (not that portions are small they're perfectly satasfying!) You definitely need to try Tiger Burger! this Korean European fusion marriage has totally stolen our hearts 💕

Awesome burger place! Came here for dinner and the food was different and amazing. Both of our burgers - the kimcheese and the chicken were beautiful, as were the Korean deep fried chicken bites. Great customer service and well priced. Definitely going back.

Came here today for family lunch. Was amazing had the chicken and pork burger, fried chicken and loaded fries no faults at all. Will<br/>Recommend to<br/>Others to<br/>Try out

I was so excited to try tiger burger... a few of my friends were raving about the place! So we gathered a few people from the lab and were determined to try everything on their menu apart from the vegie burger <br/><br/>We literally ordered everything! We had the kimchees fries, the fried chicken with yum yang sauce, the kimcheese burger, the bossam burger, the gan-jeong burger, their special burger of the day and their fried Korean donuts!! <br/>And oh my goodness!!! They did not disappoint! Everything was so delicious! I love the combination of flavours! They were like mini fire works in your mouth! <br/><br/>The chicken pieces and the chicken in the gan-jeong burger were so crispy but tender on the inside. Their gochu jjang sauce was just so, that it didn't over power everything else. I like their kimchi, how it was well fermented just the right level of sourness and the subtleties of the flavours in both the burger and the fries. <br/><br/>We basically split each burgers into 4 pieces between 4 people so everyone get to try everything there.<br/><br/>The place was full but they were very attentive and we didn't have to wait too long for our tables. The food did take a little longer bit it was so worth the wait! <br/><br/>Thank you tiger burger for the beautiful meals and service!! Cant wait go go back and actually eat a whole burger!

Fast friendly service, creative refreshing Korean take on the standard burger and fries, cool space for a meal with a little covered outdoor seating out the back.<br/><br/>Service was just the right balance of attentive and relaxed. My friend and I got a burger each and the kimchi fries to share. My beef burger was done medium rare but I asked for reg mayo instead of chilli mayo cos I'm an Asian with a white man's tolerance for spice and it was delish. The kimchi in the burger gave my meal enough of a kick to it.<br/><br/>Will definitely be back to try the other burgers and sides 👍🏼

I have been meaning to try Tiger Burger since before they had their restaurant and was finally able to give them a go.<br/>Very impressed their burgers are fantastic. We ordered the Gang-Jeong which is double fried chicken thigh, chilli-soy glaze, pickled daikon, lettuce, sriracha, chilli mayo. This burger was very tasty, the chicken was so beautifully crisp. We also had the Bossam which is twice cooked pork belly, kimchi, lettuce, pickled daikon and honey garlic mayo. The pork belly was so tender and tasty - absolutely perfect. Even though this burger was amazing too I must say that I enjoyed the chicken burger slightly more. The kimcheese fries were ok, to be honest I knew I would probably not be a huge fan of it because I am not huge on cheese sauce unless it's on lasagne. But my husband absolutely loved it so unless you are a weirdo with cheese sauce like I am then you will probably love it!

Great attentive service! We would throughly reccomend the kimcheese burger, the bun was soft and the meat perfectly cooked!! The kimchi fired were really tasty and so massive we couldn't finish them between the two of us... The souelful chicken bites I wouldn't bother with next time, the batter lacked taste, the accompanying sauces were delicious and tasty!!

Neat burger joint that's worth checking out. Had the special, jaeyook spicy pork with onion rings. When Tiger Burger says spicy, it means spicy. I'm not a French fry or cheese person but the kimcheese fries was spot on. There is outdoor seating round the back -would be great for summer. I'll be back for a cocktail on a warm day!

Another Metro Cheap Eats 100 restaurant and it was delicious! A Korean take to the traditional burger is just what I needed to satisfy my fusion craving. We got the Gang-Jeong burger (fried chicken burger), Seoulful bites (fried chicken), slaw, and the chaps doughnuts. The mains and slaw were very good. I didn't really enjoy the chewiness of the doughnut, but overall a wonderful gem. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the burgers!

Many artery network media website in Auckland reported Tiger Burger, their Kimcheese burger was highly acclaimed. As a Koreans who is very familiar with Kimchi, I was very willing to try this special burger. Therefore, I visited this place last night and ordered one Slaw & one Kimcheese burger. <br/><br/>1.  Slaw - Cabbages and carrot were fresh, properly it was flavored with sugar, vinegar, sesame oil and Korean chili paste. Taste was good. But the price was $ 7.00 per serve. Compare with the cost of raw materials, it is not cost-effective deal.<br/><br/>2. Kimcheese burger - The bigger the expectation, the bigger disappointment. Price of this burger is $ 13.00 per serve. But size of the burger was not make sense. And ... only a few pieces of Kimchi was trapped between cheddar cheese and beef patty. I could count my fingers on only one hand for amount of Kimchi pieces. <br/><br/>Anyway, I started to eat this burger. But after I ate a few ... oh my ... except two pieces of burger buns, all other items were too salty. Beef patty was a little bit salty, aged cheddar cheese was middle salty, Kimchi was too strong salty. I could not finish them all, it was not tasty at all. Had to left half of beef patty, half cheddar cheese and almost all burger buns on the table.  Because I did not want to take over amount of sodium from one meal. It is too bad for health. <br/><br/>By the way, tasty Kimchi should be sour and spicy, but this one was strong salty and a little bit spicy. <br/><br/>There is such signs on the wall in this shop , [밥이 약보다 낫다] it means that [meals are better for health than pills]. If they really believe it, they should not cook this burger with all salty items. For example, aged cheddar cheese is enough salty, so why not just cook beef patty without salt and present its original taste and flavor. <br/><br/>Music was nice. Kiwi waiter who brought my burger back to kitchen for asking more Kimchi pieces was very friendly.

Really enjoyed our burgers here. I had the Kimcheese which was great. The fried chicken is delicious and yummy dipping sauce. Would definitely go back! Good service and nice place to dine

Very busy restaurant and difficult to get a seat. Burgers are nice but small, however fries and chicken bites are overpriced and an extremely small portion. Restaurant is clean and new but it seems the owners have neglected the finer details. I would have given them 4 star, but they need some tweaking.

As good as burgers can get. This place has super yummy burgers that will make you want to come back for more. <br/><br/>I had pork belly burger with an amazing honey garlic mayo and my friend took the veggie options and some fries. All delicious!

Visited on a cold Auckland evening. All I can say is small mercies for the outdoor heater. We managed to grab a table in the corridor as it was packed inside.<br/>Wait staff were awesome. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable of all specials. <br/>We chose the kimchi fries and he opted for the kimcheese burger while I chose a special burger with a crispy permesan cheese crust. Not sure what the dressing was but it tasted great!. I asked for mine to be wrapped in lettuce. I don't do bread to well! <br/>Burgers are cooked medium rare which is great as the burger is moist and not dry at all. I'd recommend it!<br/>Only gripe I had was the fries were slightly cold when they came out before the burgers.<br/>Usual drinks but if you want something different, try a cocktail. Had a flaming rooster. Glass dipped in a chili/sugar coating. Was amazing!

Modern and simple layout, plenty of seating and friendly staff.<br/><br/>Had the kimcheese burger, the double fried chicken thigh burger, kkmcheese fries and fried chicken bites with yang nyum sauce.<br/><br/>I think kimcheese burger was worth a try; it is a simple beef burger with cheese and fried kimchi as advertised although the kimchi flavour could be a bit stronger; it was too subtle and overpowered by the beef and cheese. <br/><br/>Kimchi and fries was surprisingly original with use of old chedder cheese; it went well with the fried fermented kimchi. Probably best of what we had tonight.<br/><br/>Chicken burger tasted like fried lemon sweet and sour chicken in a coleslaw and bun; it was too sweet for my taste.<br/><br/>Fried chicken with yangnyum sauce was fine but overpriced for what you get.<br/><br/>Dinner for two and two drinks ~65-70$<br/><br/>3 Yums. Worth a try.<br/>

After reading the review in The Herald about this place I had to come and try it out for myself.  A dinky little Burger joint in the heart of the Grey Lynn shops.  The interior layout of the restaurant is simple and clean with plain wooden bench seats.  There's not a lot covering the walls of the place meaning the sound really bounces and echos round the place, if you're a little fragile from too many wines the night before, beware.<br/><br/>We ordered the Beef and Pork burgers.  Kimcheese Fries and the Deep Fried chicken bites.  The Pork Burger was amazing.  Melt in your mouth, barely had to chew, fatty, meaty, sex in your mouth type eating.  Would defo come again for this, my only grip was it needed more acidity to cut through the fat of the meat and the dressing.  The Beef and Kim-chi burger was nice, but just didn't captivate us the way the Pork Burger did, the meat patty was cooked a beautiful medium though which was great to see.<br/><br/>The big question is,  "How dies it stack up next to Burger, Burger?" .........  Very close but not quite at the same level.  Will definitely be back for the twice cooked Pork Belly burger though, that burger is off the hook.

KIMCHEESE FRIES! KIMCHEESE FRIES! KIMCHEESE FRIES! KIMCHEESE FRIES! KIMCHEESE FRIES! KIMCHEESE FRIES!<br/><br/>Ok, so I love the KIMCHEESE FRIES!<br/><br/>Visited for a quick burger on a humming saturday night. Funky little burger bar in Grey Lynn offering Koreanised Hipster burgers. The burgers are uber-decadent (I went straight home and had an apsrin just in case of heart attack :p ). I was tempted to order the 'double' burgers but after seeing the size of just a single, I'm glad I didn't. My partner had the chicken burger. Would have been nicer if the chicken wasn't deep fried in my opinion. Loads of flavour going on here - reminds me of Umami Burger in the USA and I wonder if they have provided some inspiration. Wish they offered takeaway as this is also perfect hangover food to eat slobbing in front of the TV. <br/><br/>AAA+ will trade again.

Newly relocated in Grey Lynn, as a local resident we had to try this place after all the hype .<br/><br/>We came on a Thursday night, the busy was quite busy but luckily still had few tables available . <br/><br/>The staff are very help and friendly ! We ordered the pork belly and fried chicken burger with a side of Korean fried chicken .<br/><br/>Unfortunately we waited a very long time for our food 40 mins plus, and when it finally arrived we were slightly let down . The fried chicken looked more like chicken nibbles and the burgers were on the small side . <br/><br/>The flavours of the Burger were good, juicy and went well with the condiments . (Note we were extremely hungry by this point ). Nothing special about the Korean fried chicken sadly . <br/><br/><br/><br/>

A friend and I were spoiled for choice at the Silo Markets, but very glad to have stumbled across Tiger Burger! We both had the pulled pork and kimchi burger and were wowed! I sometimes find kimchi pungent but this was perfectly balanced and did not overpower the delightful flavours of the pulled pork. I am set on finding out where Tiger Burger will pop up next, its a must try again for me!

If you love korean inspired food this place is a worth a try. I am not a huge fan of kimchi but I really enjoyed their kimchi fries & their kimcheese burger. Their octopus starter & matcha ice cream is a must. The staff were really helpful & attentive. Location is a little tricky to find. If you are looking for something new to try, check this place out. Their food is full of flavour. Price tag is on the higher side especially for this kind of meal.

Fusion burger done well, nice juicy patty. Could have been a little more kimchi in the burger but the flavours were spot on. Burger size a tad small for the price.<br/><br/>Kimchi Fries were tasty but note that have upped the price. Nice novelty, probably wouldn't order the fries again but would grab a burger or try something else off the menu.

okay lets just get straight to the point; you HAVE to try the Kimcheese fries whenever you order at Tiger Burger. A plate of fries served with a generous portion of homemade kimchee, tomato sauce and melted cheeeeeeeese; I never expected the combination to be a match made in heaven omgahdd. <br/><br/>Moving onto the big boys, I had only tried two of their burgers; the infamous Kimcheese burger (Metro top 10's burgers) and the Galbi burger and ofc I defs couldnt go pass the ying&yang fried chicken. The burgers were slightly on the smaller size but were served in between two soft burger  buns. Out of the two burgers, I'd have to say the Kimcheese burger stood out more in terms of flavour. The Kimchee, two types of mayo, cheese and the beef patty worked perfectly together; who knew Kimchee would go well with every westernised thing haha. The galbi burger was still really tasty and served with a generous amount of beef, pickled carrots, mayo and spring onion.<br/><br/>Kimcheese burger: 9/10<br/>Galbi burger: 7/10<br/><br/>The fried chicken gets a special mention. Tiger Burger's take on fried chicken was what you'd expect from a korean fried chicken. Crunch and tender and smothered in a hot sweet korean sauce; super delicious and would reccomend to all yall fried chicken fans ;) 8/10<br/>Overall, Tiger Burger provided with a mean feed and the atmosphere at the pop up was super casual and fun. Service was top notch and food was delicious! Dish of the day: Kimcheese burger + Kim cheese fries!

Everything about this place is cute!! 😊 We got the kimcheese burger and sloppy po bao. We also ordered the kimcheese fries, but were too full to eat the fries. Nonetheless, the taste of everything was so good. So unique and different from your average burger and fries. We also ordered the cream soda and pineapple drink, we've had those drinks before so we knew they were already great. I'd also like to thank the friendly waitresses as it just felt like we were just talking to friends. Would definitely be back here again. Hope this pop up store stays for longer ❤😊

Yummmmm their kimchi Burger with pulled pork in it. I'm drooling already. And their kimchi fries. One of the best burgers in Auckland and reasonably priced. Totally worth a trip - right now.

I always love korean food and i love these guys even more! I've tried all their burgers and i must say, korean inspired burger is the bom! If you are too scared to try them, maybe try the kimcheese burger first. Its creamy and delicious. You guys are one of my fav at #thestreetfoodcollective

Yummy tiger burgers for a cold night definitely warms you up and leave you with a satisfied full belly! I really like the concept of creating asian fusion burgers and I loved kimchi on patty! However, the burger felt quite greasy after those first few bites and I reckon the flavours would be a lot more better if there were fresh lettuces/cucumbers/tomatoes that go with it. The sauce is also quite rich which makes the overall burger very buttery. I liked the buns but they can be toasted a bit more to give that crispy taste. One thing that I would definitely recommend them to do is to have a pork or any other meat patty burger. There were only 2 options to choose from and both were beef.<br/><br/>The kimcheese chips were nice, but I found it a little bit too rich again and also quite pricey-$8.<br/><br/>I liked my burger but probably won't go back for a while.

Personally I think it's quite hard to find a place that puts enough heat in burgers(though there's another one I could think of :D), so I was quite stoked to find this place. The kimchi pork burger packs a punch and is really, uh, saucy ;-) I couldn't quite taste the melted cheese though, but no biggie. The staff are also very nice .<br/>

I love their delicious kimcheese fries and pulled pork & kimchi burger. The kimcheese burger is decent too, but I'd order the pulled pork burger any day over the kimcheese burger.<br/>My 9 year old had one of their galbi beef burgers & was pretty impressed too. <br/>One of my favourites at the Street Food Collective.

Never tasted anything like these before... Korean inspired, a new range of flavours for my pallet. A fun spin on your normal burger selection 🍔 😊

Wow! Who knew kimchi could be soooo good? Spicy and tangy Korean deliciousness. <br/><br/>The kimchi fries are yum...and my burger had the most succulent beef with a flavourful and crisp Parmesan wafer. <br/><br/>Staff were super friendly...this is one of my favourites at the Street Food Collective.

My tastbuds are still throbbing. Just inhaled the Kimcheese burger. OMG amazing. Highly recommended to anyone who likes a bit of kick to their burger.

Well who would've thought we could squeeze one more burger joint into the central city, but hey I'm proved wrong again :-) My unqualified amateur palate was sublimely rewarded with their infamous spicy kimchi and slow pulled pork burger. They specialise in quality over quantity and incorporate an Asian flair into their burgers which lifts them into the rarified burger company of the likes of Better Burger and Burger Burger. If you are in need of a burger mouthgasm then find your way here....<br/><br/>UPDATE: These guys are now the shining stars of the Grey Lynn dining scene, being based in a funky new burger joint venue! Was really keen to try out their soft shell crab burger again but wasn't on the menu :-( so went vegetarian and was pleasantly surprised by one of the best vegetarian burgers I have tried so far...  Of course being in Grey Lynn make sure you dress 50's Boho. The guys sitting next to us all had out of control beards and the ladies on the other side frizzy hair :-) Fries were great as well, and the service super friendly!
Shelly
Had the killer kimcheese fries and my sister had a kimchi burger. It was so spicy but delicious! I think i fell in love with them fries...will be back for them fries guys!
