Unbelievably delicious breakfast at this great cafe. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Auckland CBD. Vintage seating, board games, and artwork. They apparently buy all their produce from small suppliers, with organic free range eggs and butchery sourced meats. I had the Revellers Brekkie. Needed salt but otherwise incredible flavour. I got the Bacon and Eggs version. Mushrooms were definitely the super star on the plate. Will get their full mushroom option next time. I’m a big eater and couldn’t finish the meal. Service was outstanding.

Awesome Eggs Benedict. Fresh juices. Nice and chilled atmosphere with vintage chairs, artwork on the walls and tables. The music was also very relaxed on that Monday Morning...
Friendly customer service...

Solid cafe with amazing cabinet cakes! Ones that make you want to try! Great coffee also and love the decor. Vintage furniture, arty walls and a cool k rd vibe! Perfect for sitting and reading a book, drawing, or being on your laptop. It doesn’t get too crowded so it’s really nice! 😊

My recent new love. Delicious food, great atmosphere and interesting characters. Would recommend.

Great coffee, awesome vibe, and really good food.

Excellent mushroom and walnut vegan burger with hummus. Spicy and delicious, with a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended place to eat and chill.
OM
Good coffee- typical for NZ. However, the jam they serve the toasts with was simply amazing!

Popular with locals and travellers alike and a pretty eccentric crowd too. Super chilled vibe: chilled music, people play chess, staff sit and chat with customers. Though note - speed of serviced is chilled too so don't come of you're in a hurry.
Great Coffee and excellent breakfast/brunch food. Bit pricier than average in the area but worth it the extra few dollars - I mean not everywhere fries the mushrooms with rosemary.

Best bowl of mochaccino 😍☕️ my soul is dancing. Well done Revel!

First time being back to revel after the ownership has changed. My first experience with the previous owners was 5 stars and was very happy with my experience at Revel.

Came in this morning (Sunday) around 11 for brunch. The cafe was pretty empty so easy enough to get a seat. Loved how you can play board games or read books while waiting for your breakie, super relaxed vibes.

I ordered the omelette with cheese onions and mushrooms, and my friend ordered the eggs bene with salmon and creamy mushrooms. I also got a soy milk iced mocha.

Both meals were decently sized and plated very nicely. My friend found his meal lacking a bit of flavour, and said it used to taste better before. My omelette was super tasty and a safe option. I’ve previously had the vegan pancakes as well as the waffles from here which are amazing!!! the iced mocha was good and decently strong, I asked for soy milk but a bit sad that I wasn’t made aware of the ice cream in the drink (not too sure if it was df). This was fine for me as I’m not intolerant but just for others who might need it.

The service was super friendly but the wait times for the meal were very long (might be due to a large group sitting outside) hence my 4 stars.

The cabinet treats always looks great so super keen to grab some items from there next time. This cafe is real good if you have any intolerances or dietary requirements as they cater for a bunch of different ones.

Went in to try the Vegan breakfast and it was very good indeed, yummy crispy tofu and a pumpkin spicy number, mushrooms spinach hummus these potato maybe Kumara hash type things with white dairy tasting sauce not sure what it was but was good! Will be back for sure. OH sorry forgot the omni meal he said it was also GREAT. Loved my almond decaf latte too. THANKS you beautiful people

Never have I ever been so impressed and pleasantly surprised by a cafe before.

Quality of Customer Service is Excellent.
Upon entering Revel, I was greeted and asked if I had any dietary requirements, (I said yes, vegan) and they proceeded to point out meals on the menu that are suitable for me. I found this gesture super helpful as it's difficult to choose from an unfamiliar menu. Most cafes don't know what ingredients are in their food, and most don't know what veganism even is!

The atmosphere is cosy, comfortable and creative.
The food? Is tasty, appetizing and served in a timely manner.

I will definitely be back, and will recommend to friends & family members. Thank you!

Everytime I've eaten at revel i have wanted to order the vegan revellers but always end up picking something else (all delicious) at the last minute. Today I finally ordered it and it was SO DAMN GOOD. Please vegans do yourself a favor and eat this
Ravi
They offer a very wonderful service with an amazing atmosphere. There is a good range of options available here as well as some new things you may have not tried before.

Great Experience, very homely. Spend about 3 hours reading my book, chatting away enjoying some Kumera chips with Vegan Aoili (very nice) and for desert a peanut butter piece of cake and last but not least I got a chili chocolate cookie for the road. Great place, really personal, can highly recommend!

What funkie place, with great events and coffee. The service is great and the staff are great and well suited to the place. The coffee was amazing and hot. The food was took a little long but made up on taste and flavour. Would go back with my friends and we went to a comedy show there.
Sarah Cohen
The food here is ok, the chef does a good job. The front counter staff are terrible. There is a blonde waitress, who is extremely rude. My husband wanted to complain to the manager it was so bad. We definitely wont be back. There are many other cafes in the area to go to, all with better service than this place.

I had never actually been inside this gem until last week, and I will be back. The interiors are quirky and staff friendly and chatty.

i ordered a vegan panini from the cabinet (I also saw vegan options on the blackboard) and expected them to just heat it up and bring it out. Instead they included this really tasty pesto and another sauce of some kind so I felt like I had got what I had paid for.

i would definitely recommend this to plant based eaters. It's a place you can easily just sit with a coffee and read a book.

Love this beautiful Hippy Haven!

The vegetarian quiche is delicious, but on the pricey side.

I love the look of the inside of the cafe! It is really boho and exotic looking.
Irina Milana
Amazing food, was very surprised by my breakfast. Great service and nice vibe, would highly reccomend especially for vegans. I ordered a vegan revelry or something along those lines. Hashbrowns, mushrooms, capsicum, spinach, tofu in pesto and chimi churi sauce. Tasted like heaven!

I like this place, "c'est tres hipster chic", if I'm feeling a bit

The graffiti branding, interior design that looks like it was inspired by a dumpster diver, and the staff image are all bitchin. The organic, vegan and gluten free menu options are actually tasty, and to top it off, they even serve regular food options.

Be warned though! not a place to come to in a Lacoste polo and loafers, I've never seen it happen, but I get the feeling the heavily pierced and tattooed staff might refuse to serve you :-)... and if you're in a suit, you may want to check yourself before you wreckitty wreck yourself (though you might get away with it if you're a suit by day and a hipster by night, especially if rockin a rad beard.)

Seriously though, food is yumm and coffee is great.
Doc Murdoch
One of my locals..been smashing the pies they do.. $8.50.. bloody good for the cold weather, cruisy staff, cool interior the beers cheap..like the place one of the few joints on Krd that gets the sun..bit hippy at times but lots of interesting people go there..

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of K road, this cosy cool café is FULL of character! Walking in you'll be overwhelmed with the details and contents that fill this place. The café is narrow and long with a reasonable amount of seating. The service is good but minimal.

We enjoyed the Tofu Nippon Revelator ($16). The tofu was slightly crispy and the rice was creamy and flavoursome – perfect for a cold night. The Mushroom and walnut burger ($16.50) was pretty good for a vegetarian option. Although I thought it would feature more mushrooms, the lentil patty was quite tasty and filling. The walnuts, were a unusual ingredient but worked well. The portions of both dishes were just right – although we did add a side of wedges to the burger ($4).

We popped in for dinner on a weeknight so would be keen to try out the breakfast menu next time. They have some great dishes to offer for both meat lovers (free range), vegans and vegetarians.
Diogo Reck
One of the coolest places in K Road. Crazy messy decoration, full of books and old stuff.

The service is very good and they have a lot of options for snacks. Coffee is a little better than average, although I've heard they roast it themselves.

Price is pretty fair, specially considering the location.
Rona Dalgleish
Great spot for vegans and non-vegans alike! I had an amazing roast pumpkin wrap with a nutty pesto and sweet beetroot chutney. So so tasty. Only letdown was that the staff were a little cold. As I was looking at the chalkboard menu I was abruptly told "kitchen is closed" on both occasions I've visited. There is a small fridge at the other end of the service area which they still sell from after the kitchen is closed but I only knew this as I was with a friend who had been before. Nice enough little place but had a funny atmosphere after receiving a not so warm welcome.
Royce Aguilon
We were looking for a place to eat breakfast and saw this as a 5 star brekky cafe as per the Yelp reviews. Not sure what exactly is 5 stars but the pancakes were definitely 2/5 and eggs Benedict were super runny so 2/5 for that too.
GideonMarisa MasterchefNz2015
Bit hit and miss for me here, I work quite close to this cafe and just depending on the mood of the staff the quality of the food is either very good or average. I do enjoy the laid back atmosphere here and its nice to see the community and social aspect of this cafe #g1
Luke Alexander
Without a doubt Auckland's best coffee, thanks to their expert baristas and their choice of Supreme beans (thanks for not subjecting us to Allpress guys!)

The quality is consistent, the atmosphere cosy and unpretentious and the prices reasonable. If you're after a quick lunch, go for the tramezzino sandwiches. However, if you have some extra time up your sleeve, take a seat and take advantage of their extensive and glorious menu.

This place is a must-visit for the vegans of Auckland - burgers, breakfast and so many baked goods (the chocolate midnight cake and peppermint slices are particularly awesome.)

Would be awesome if they offered a takeaway coffee discount for customers bringing their own cups.
Cap Tain Red Beard
Every time I am in Auckland I come to this lil hole in the wall. Always have had great service and the atmosphere here is great. I love creating random stories on the wall. I love the food, great hangover cures. I have vowed that I will be back!

Update: Went again at 8pm on Thursday and the girl behind the counter rolled her eyes as we walked and as we started to read the "night menu" she yelled "kitchens closed". The way she said it was very rude and blunt, it could have been said nicely and with an apology. Clearly they are not a serious eatery if the are open until 10 pm but you can't buy food from the night menu at 8pm. We will not be returning after a welcome like that.

Wow! Just went to Revel for the first time. What an interesting, quirky, 70s adorned paradise. There were limited Vegan options but the two we had were fantastic. I had the Revellers Breakfast and my husband had the Mushroom, Walnut and Lentil burger. Both were absolutely delicious. Miss 9 had Potato Wedges with Aioli. The music was good, the decor was fabulous and we had a really nice time. Thanks Revel!

Went to pick up some cake on my way home last night as I was craving a peanut butter slice - I ended up leaving with a peanut butter slice, a slice of raw coconut cream/banana pie, and a piece of rocky road. And I was still seriously considering getting a cookie. The girl who served me was absolutely lovely and the food was INSANELY good as always - the best vegan cake in Auckland and some of the best coffee you can get in the city.

I love Revel! I really, really do! They have vegan options - right here they have won me over. My husband (non-vegan) and I both love it. The food is incredible, I adore the vegan burger - that pattie is magical. And they make their own chilli sauce which is divine. I want a burger right now just thinking about it.

The atmosphere is awesome here as well, the staff and vibe is cool and relaxed. It's a place that I love to eat the delicious food but also relax in, my husband and I spend hours here eating, playing chess and enjoying all Revel has on offer.

Pricey but worth it. Good coffee, great breakfasts, excellent atmosphere. Friendly, chatty staff too. Feels very "neighbourly." Easy to miss from outside but you won't be disappointed.
Kakes
Awesome place. It's cute and quirky. Great staff and great food. Great place to catch up with friends over a nice cuppa.
Maria
Haven't got to try their food yet (except for the cakes, which were awesome), but their coffees are the best in town! My favourite is an iced coffee with a scoop of ice-cream in it - delicious! The staff are very friendly and are genuinely happy to see you there.

Will be coming back for more and more!

As a vegan, anywhere that has more than one vegan option is a keeper in my books! Revel has so many vegan options to offer. I've had the walnut lentil burger which was delicious. My friend had the vegan mint slice and something from the cabinet which was delicious. I also had a slice of chocolate cake which I paid $6 for...but the piece was so pathetically small and not THAT tasty.

Overall, great vegan food (if slightly pricey) and cool decor and atmosphere. Recommend for vegans everywhere!
Lee
I love this place and go whenever Im around the area. By far the best vegetarian and vegan food out there, good coffee and sweet as staff. Will always return.
Jess Callinan
DELICIOUS bagels! great service friendly staff, not for thse who are not into the cosy seating although I think it's nice and intimate, would def go back again and again :)

Pro: Good food, long opening hours, chilled atmosphere, lots of delicious plantbased options.
What an awesome haven so close to the city! I loved the chilled alternative atmosphere of the cafe as well as the awesome food offers - including vegetarian and vegan options. Coffee was superb.

Thank you so much for the late opening hours - that's exactly what it should be like for a cafe!!
Jonjon
The staff was very friendly and sociable which are good words in my dictionary. However I felt that the cafe was a bit expensive as the burgers were like 17$. However it did try to live up to it's price in freshness and quality of the sauces so I didn't really complain, but I don't know, paying 17$ for a burger is still a bit much.

But I enjoyed the atmosphere, the decor, weird arts hanging around the place. The people who frequent there seem a bit artsy too so there's definitely a cultural vibe going on in the place.

I only care about the food really and I'll give four stars for the food, but if there was a rating for the price I'd give it a lower rating.

Would definitely come back again to try other stuffs :)
Lauren Grigor
We've been here a few times for breakfast and coffee. The staff are friendly and they definitely cater to different tastes and allergies. I think their menu is clever and unique however some of the dishes leave my mouth feeling a bit dry. Very quirky decor, Lots of fun but could work a bit more on the sauces and dressings.

1
The coffee is great. It's not the best I've had, but then again that isn't the only thing that's important about a cafe (unless you're old fashioned)
2
Decor and dishes were BAD ASS! They fit in perfectly with the feel of K-road. Make-shift, old, recycled but somehow chic. I loved drinking out of mix and match cups and saucers. It makes the experience a little less ordinary.
3
The food! The food has always been delicious. They have options for all different diets, and I applaud them for that! My cousin is vege/dairy-free and just kept wanting to go back. Every time I go I leave with a smile, a full puku, and no regrets over the (relatively) small amount they take from my bank account.
Ka pai!!!

Been to Revel a number of times with my partner for food and desserts. Every time we have ate it has been devine. Good to see there vegan and vege options . The slices are yume ...
Bonsai
I've been to Revel on a number of occasions, and have had good and bad experiences. Unfortunately the latter are starting to outnumber the former. Firstly, the coffee is not great - and that's the most important thing about a cafe, surely? Some lessons on how to make flat whites may be needed. And call me old-fashioned, but drinking coffee out of a teacup is a bit odd. Secondly, the food. I recall having delicious french toast with fruit a few months back, but it seems to have disappeared from the menu. In its place are some odd, very heavy buckwheat pancakes, supposedly with creme fraiche (of which there was no sign). Not good. The "cake" I recently had was pretty ordinary, too - it seemed uncooked. Not fantastic, despite the scores of customers - though I think most of them come because they can smoke outside.
Magdalene
The service here is absolutely fantastic! Went there for the first time yesterday and had breakfast, going again now for more yummy stuff.
Kate McGuinness
My partner I visited Revel today ( 07.11.10) and had an awful experience.

I ordered the 'Beetroot and Lentil Salad', and he ordered a slice of vegan banana cake. What a disappointment. The cake was as hard as a rock, dry and stale, I can only imagine that it was baked a week ago.

My salad was worse. It actually tasted like dirt. My partner tasted my salad and was as equally unimpressed. I should add at this point that I am not a picky eater, so for me to leave a meal after one bite is rather impressive.

To top off our Revel experience, my smoothie was WARM. How on earth can a smoothie be warm? Yuk. The coffee was okay, but I felt as though I was going to vomit by this stage.

Needless to say, we left hastily with $20 less in our pockets.

I have been to Revel before for coffee and snacks, but never have I had such a rubbish experience.

Never again.
Lynnette Xu
i wouldn't speak more highly of this place. I wish with all my heart that they were closer to home so I can go every day. As of now i have to hike up a hill just to indulge in their divine cake selections and perfect coffee. A must go.
Peter Katelaan
This spot became a regular place for us, since they have a high quality of their food to a very fair price that is served by very friendly personal. Another big plus of Revels is, that they serve Vegan and Gluten free food.

Uh, did I mention that the coffee is really really great?
Rachael Claudette
I discovered this place a few weeks ago, having been a vegan in Auckland for nearly 5 years, I was surprised to find a cafe I hadn't heard of.

I could have walked straight passed Revel had I not been paying very close attention, the place itself is really small and very narrow.

I can't rave enough about how friendly the staff in here are, singing, laughing and joking around, it gives the place as really comfortable and laid-back vibe.

The food is reasonably priced and pretty tasty. Nothing to shout home about but not unsatisfying either. I definitely think the atmosphere is the winner over the food here.
Andrew Tidball
Brilliant food, friendly service, one of the best cafes in Auckland city imo. Great coffee and great food (either from the cabinet or from the menu). Revel is one of my "go-to" choices.
Zetin Moza
This is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch spots! While its located on K-Rd and we don't necessarily associate great culinary experiences with that street, this is a place worth checking out!

Revel has an interesting decor - a mix of vintage, old school and retro. CDs on walls, photos of Rolling Stones, Beetles, and other music bands, teapots and kettles hanging off the ceiling; there is enough going on there to keep you entertained while you wait for your meals.

They also have a pin-ball and a space invaders game table, so you can play while you eat. My usual order is the scrambled eggs on toast with a side of creamy mushrooms. All of the meals are cooked to order, and you would be surprised with who you might end up meeting there.
