Review The Glass Goose - Auckland Central

Ran W
Really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere here. Nice courtyard and, let’s face it, there are very few such spaces in Auckland CBD. We particularly enjoyed the fish bites, fish pate, and the cumin encrusted eggplant chips & pistachio dip - very very nice!

Came back after a few years and still a great spot right under sky tower. We ordered bunch of dishes, waffle, potato skin, halloumi salad, oyster, pork slider. Recommend to try the potato skin and waffles Service was good as they constantly made their presence felt.

Hidden oasis - lovely beer garden with twinkling fairy lights and a plush, tasteful interior. It's very pricey - but nice for a treat. I had a single oyster and it was fresh, plump and flavourful, served on a scattering of rock salt. The staff are chill yet professional and they have a decent range of ales and wines. The crowd are a bourgeois but laid back.

Had an absolutely amazing lunch here as a birthday celebration with family! Our waitress was very nice and the food was delicious! We got a First table booking and got 50% off the food, making this an extremely worthwhile lunch! ☺️

Well the oyster is not fresh and tastes weird, but the board all tastes really nice. We love all the meats and the sauce and even the bread is very good too. The short ride is very soft and tender taste good too. Good service good location with beautiful outside seating. We seated indoor as the music is too loud and the indoor seat is beautiful too.

Xmas Party at Glass Goose was amazing!! Everyone had a good time, we had the best spot in the house at the back, under the sun, right next to Sky Tower, next to the DJ, music was right up the mood, super close to the bar, food service was perfect, and the food was delicious and so were all the cocktails and drinks. Thank you so much for hosting us on a short notice for a hefty big crowd on a Friday. We all had an awesome time, 10/10!!

Great location, lovely atmosphere friendly attentive staff and the food is great as well.

I recently dined at Glass Goose in Auckland and it was an outstanding experience! The atmosphere was trendy and inviting, the service was top-notch, and the food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend their innovative dishes. Great portion size! A definite must-visit for anyone in Auckland!

HEAVEN!!!! Came by just for desert and went with the chocolate marquise and fell in love with it from the first bite. Service was a bit slow, and it can get quite loud here sometimes at night. The toilets are also very dim, had to use my phone flash light to look around.

Great spot for a beer or cocktail after work. Excellent service from our waitress

Truly don’t get why this place is not overcrowded all the time. It’s definitely my Auckland hidden gem. The food is delicious. I love the atmosphere, the lights, the music, it’s perfect for a romantic date. We spent our first evening in New Zealand here and after 15 months travelling the country it’s time for us to leave, so we choose to spend our last night here too, having drinks in this peaceful and really cool place right in the city center.

THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD. The food was amazing there and the service was so great. I 100% recommend this to anybody coming to Auckland.

Great place with a good range of New Zealand beers. Confit duck was on point with buttery potatoes and vege. Friendly service with lovely atmosphere for a great night out.

Great meal here tonight All dishes where tasty Good value Good layout restaurant Give 5 star because of the service of the young staffs. Didn’t get her name but the young Japanese girl was so friendly and gave us an awesome experience. Help us with ordering and recommendations.

Had very nice late Valentine's here. We ordered the wagyu beef short ribs and lamb shoulder as mains and a variety of shared plates. The short ribs were a little bland but that may have been because the clams had quite a salty butter sauce on them and desensitized me to the more subtle flavour, however when i dipped the short ribs in the remainder of the clam sauce it tasted very nice. The service was very good and staff came at the correct time to take our orders, bring our food and clear our plates. We didn't have to wait long for our meals. My only complaints are that it's definitely a special occasion place and not a place most people could afford to go to regularly. The proportions are not super generous, you would be looking at $160 to $180 for two people if you wanted a satisfying level of food with a drink each. My final complaint is that something here gave my wife terrible wind, celebrating our late Valentine's when your wife can't stop farting isn't quite as pleasant as it could have been, and the level of emissions may have extinction rebellion protesting on our doorstep.

Amazing Potato Skins, best we've ever had! Atmosphere was relaxing and we could have stayed all evening chatting and munching. Lemon lime n bitter could do with a little work but overall looking forward to going back for more potato skins !

Well the oyster and beff rib is not fresh 😂.The rib taste is very strange, like spoiled,But their service is very good, they replaced me with new dishes in the first time, although many of them are out of stock in the store The duck legs are very good, and duck fat potato skins are also recommended. If you like to eat duck legs, you must try it☺️

Lovely spot for Sunday lunch - we loved the short rib; gnocchi; eggplant chips; mushroom croquettes; and chocolate marquise. Great range of drinks and non-alcoholic options. Excellent service.

Ordered the menu available from the Restaurant Month special. My main which was a duck dish was sooo delicious, the meat and the potato were perfect. I think you'd get the most out of the duck dish for the Restaurant Month special both portion wise and quality wise. My grilled fish entree tasted slightly burnt and it took a whole for one of our cocktails to come out but other than that we had a great evening. The bathrooms smell so good as well! The staff there were very accommodating.

Wow, we came here for their restaurant month menu and were blown away. First time visiting, we came for dinner and it’s such a gorgeous space at night. Service throughout the nice was really good!<br/><br/>We went for the crumbed pork belly to start, wagyu beef and the duck for mains, we ordered an extra side of the potato skins, and then finished off with the panacotta and the creme brûlée.<br/><br/>Everything tasted amazing, couldn’t fault anything. Highlight for me was the wagyu beef - so delicious and hearty. The meat was so soft and tender while the sauce was very savoury. Definitely recommended the potato skins too, they were delicious. <br/><br/>We’ll be back for sure! Their full menu looked super tasty.

Always been wanting to come here, finally get to try it cos of restaurant month. Service is really friendly and attentive. Pretty cozy place, perfect for group setting and venue hire for parties. We chose the $40 for three course meal lunch. Great value, portion is reasonable and the food is delicious!! My highlight is desserts and extra sides that we ordered which is crisp potato skins cooked in duck fat! Heaven in a bowl... We ordered Grilled market fish crisp potato rosti and Crumbed pork belly, mulled wine glaze for bite-sized entree. Mains are Duck leg confit with mozzarella potato dauphinoise, baby carrots, green beans and Wagyu Short Rib, parsnip puree, mustard leaves. The star is desserts, the Chocolate marquise, raspberry, vanilla ice cream. We also got Cardamom brulee, gingernut. The brulee tastes a bit too eggy for my liking but still ok.

First time eating dinner here and it was definitely sub-par. First we got dirty water glasses, followed by the waitress bringing us dirty sharing plates (is your dishwasher broken at the moment or something?).<br/>I had the pork belly and it was horrible! The skin was not crackled and was inedible, this was followed by a layer of unrendered fat and then the thinest slither of pork (the only edible part on the plate). There was also an entire raw clove of garlic on the plate, not even attempted to roast and soften it. I mentioned to the waiter that it wasn't good to which she responded "oh, do you not like that" and walked off.<br/>The dish i received was worlds different to the photos i have seen on here. My two slices of pork belly together were only equivalent in size to one of the slices on others here. Think we got the b chef!<br/>Definitely wouldn't come back for food.

Great place to start off your night. The vibes are great and drinks are done well. The food wasn’t mind blowing but I think that’s justifiable given I probably would rather come here for drinks and a snack. Definitely would recommend checking them out!

Came here using first table without any problems. Service is wonderful and the atmosphere is very nice. Dishes came out quick although they did forget to put the order for the pork belly through, so we had to wait quite a while for that dish. We ordered watermelon and sparkling wine oysters, duck fat potato skins, baked halloumi, duck leg and pork belly. We enjoyed all the dishes except for the halloumi- more because we expected something similar to halloumi fries but our fault for not reading properly. Would definitely like to come back again and try some other dishes!

Blink and you may miss it. <br/><br/>The glass goose is nestled away behind the corner building on fed street. The venue has a relatively large outdoor area with open roofing. The inside is very spacious too.<br/><br/>Seemed very popular for afterwork drinks!<br/><br/>Tried a main the wagyu short rib. Interesting combination of flavours, well presented. Very tender meat. Worth a try.<br/><br/>Sharing plate of thinly sliced beef. No so sure about this one the beef element i think was lost but as a whole it kinda worked.<br/><br/>Also went for three of the bite size. The grilled market fish on a rosti was very good. The crumbed pork belly I don’t rate, its sauce was nice enough, however I dont rate pork so try yourself. Chilli wagyu lettuce cups were ace. I would smash these back all day!

First of all, the outside seating area is beautiful. There is a pond with fish and plenty of nature decorations! It is a perfect place to chill, especially in the summer. We ordered the roasted duck breast and three bites. The bites were literally one bite size dishes - but we were told of this when ordering. They were overall very tasty and enjoyable. For dessert we got the chocolate marquise which was set out beautifully. Overall good experience!

Beautiful spot in the heart of Auckland City!! We ordered Beekeepers blossom and Basil Grande and both Cocktails were amazing

Best Espresso martinis here! great place for parties and drinks with friends, their set up is great for the nightlife in AKL CBD, definitely worth visiting
JenniferJ
I had been there before and was not disappointed with the food. It was still tasty and service was very good. We went there with 1st table so it was an early dinner but it was such a great deal to get 50% your total bill!

Glass goose is so underrated. The food is amazing, the drinks are amazing, and the atmosphere is amazing!! The duck fat potato skins are my absolute fav! Soooooo good

With a drink in hand below the Sky Tower, I would definitely suggest grabbing a drink here at night. With the Sky Tower overhead, it is a beautiful place to sit. The cocktails are a bit pricey but with a view of the Sky Tower overhead, I understand why. This is a great little stop to grab a drink and there is plenty of seating.

Absolutely love the interior and exterior! Lovely set ups and just so romantic even in the afternoon. Service was amazing! Presentation of the food were simply beautiful and each texture of the dish were so tasty too!

There are plenty of great options on Federal St. This is not one of them. Rude staff. Food is like dressed up takeaways. Slow drink preparation.
MCP
Glass goose is a cool rooftop bar near sky tower; they gives a chill vibe when u just want to catch up with friends over drink - never tried their food but will come back to try

I absolutely LOVE this place. The outer garden is simply beautiful and the food is also amazing (the dessert was divine). Staff members are also very attentive and helpful. Would always come back on a regular basis!

I decided to celebrate finishing our exams with two other friends. The atmosphere was really lively and the service was extremely good! The server explained the menu through and gave great recommendations. We got the cheese waffles, which was recommended to us by the server and the duck breast. I also got the Fresh Pickings cocktail. The cheese waffle was soo crunchy and delicious, it really satisfied my cravings. The duck breast was out of this world. The skin was just juicy and when you bite into the meat, it’s so unbelievably tender and well-cooked. The cocktail tasted super fresh and had a nice summery feel to it. I’d definitely come back!!!

Came here for a Friday dinner. Ordered a large plate and 3 medium plates to share between the two of us and we couldn’t finish it so portion sizes were ok. But it was a little on the expensive side. Also, the music was deafening. It was very noisy inside and we could hardly hear ourselves speak so that was a major thing we were too pleased about.
Matchstick Reviews
Tucked away in the heart of Auckland just opposite the sky-tower, this place aims to provide a fantastic setting with a fantastic food. Unfortunately this time I can't give it five stars, and I will explain why....<br/><br/>The staff are super friendly and attempted to accommodate well. But unfortunately the service was below what I expected. We originally asked if we could move tables because of the rather awkward arrangement that was present. Seating six people around three round tables in a corner really did not work. Unfortunately this couldn't be done, but all credit for taking it into consideration. Furthermore, they appeared to be out of a range of things, firstly they were out of two wine types and their smoked potato waffles which was disappointing. Furthermore, there were odd practices carried out by the staff such as, not pouring any of the glasses (water or wine), this may seem a bit picky but it does make a difference when eating here. So, overall the staff are friendly, but maybe lack a little professionalism, and unfortunately for me the service was lacking, but I am hoping this was only an off night.<br/><br/>Now to the good things. For a start the food here is fantastic with a menu full of delicious sounding and tasting features. We got a range of things ans found everything to be absolutely delightful. The baked polenta and eggplant chips were a real standout for me, and I would certainly recommend. We also had the pork sliders, pulled pork bun, beef lettuce cups, and potato skins which were also delicious. The meat was tender and the flavours were a standout. Finally, we also had the lamb which was a tad disappointing, as it was a little lack luster. However, the entire menu really stands out, there is plenty to choose from with plenty of gluten free options. I did find myself wanting to try everything on the menu which is an impressive accolade to have I feel, especially when the execution is carried out well.<br/><br/>The decor and aesthetic of the place I think is the real winner and what would attract anyone here. The decor is super current and on trend, with an awesome wrap around leather seating arrangement dominating the main area. The bar also looks amazing, and the whole space has a retro vibe but still modern. There is also a cool outdoor area with a fantastic view to the top of the Sky-tower. It holds a fantastic feel for both a group dining experience or a more intimate occasion.<br/><br/>Overall, I feel this place has huge potential. I am hoping that my experience here was a one off and this issues get ironed out. I also think that square tables will help immensely in this space because for larger groups the round ones don't work. But, the food is amazing, with a fantastic menu with a range of options. I do feel their drinks list could be a tad more extensive, but that is hardly a gripe. The decor and setting is also fantastic and is a huge draw to this place. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, I believe the service issues won't be regular occurrence, and the food is a real winner in a fantastic setting. I very much would like to go back and change this review, because it is a marvelous place.

Love eating here again and again.<br/>Ambience is so beautiful... Plants decor is really amazing.<br/>Service is quick and staff is cheerful.<br/>I have tried polenta here and cheese and crackers.<br/>Recommend to try atleast once.

We really enjoyed our lunch here! Upon arrival someone greeted us right away and the place wasn’t busy at all. The service was exceptional and our waitress was so prompt and friendly. We ordered a couple of dishes - eggplant (really good but a little oily as it’s deep fried), potato skin chips (the best and so addictive!), beef lettuce cups (really yum and generous portions), medium pork cheek (yum, but a little fatty) and a large lamb rump which was the only let down as it was a tad over, some parts were very over cooked and the middle part was slightly over. If the lamb wasn’t over cooked we would have given them a 5 stars. The ambiance was also lovely and the food came out super fast! We will be back for sure!

ROUSING. Tucked away in a remote paradise, yet only a stone’s throw away from the Sky Tower, The Glass Goose brings great vibes, great food, and all you need is great company. Would definitely recommend this place, especially when you can eat for half price with @firsttable !<br/><br/>The Chilli Clams with miso butter were an absolute delight, balanced with Duck Fat Potato Skins, and scrumptious Smoked Potato Waffles complimented by a heavenly avocado mousse. We also had the Sesame Crusted Tarakihi which tickled my fancy more than I expected, with the crust giving the Tarakihi nice kick. However my only disappointment was the Roasted Duck Breast as the meat itself lacked portion size and wasn’t even cooked well, with the rest of the dish basically being all noodles soaked in a strong sauce.<br/><br/>Nevertheless, it was a small disappointment for a great experience and we had excellent service - would visit again! Conveniently located in 78 Federal Street.

A really nice open area with a sky tower view from above. I recommend their frozen rose and the potato skins lol food was delicious and very nice spot to hang out
Me And My Darlings
The Glass Goose // could be magic<br/>Highs : large breezy outdoor deck<br/>Lows : the deck is a smoking area : (<br/>Dog friendly : in the cbd so probably not<br/>We planned a staycation at home in Auckland and thought we’d get a #firsttable half price deal and have a chilled long lunch in town at #theglassgoose.<br/>An outdoor rooftop garden on a sunny summers day sipping a delicious cooling cocktail - what more could you want? Except the breezy outdoor deck allows smokers and the unpleasant passive smoke was floating in our direction. The officious waitress informed us the only place to escape the fumes was inside in the dark sunshineless depths : ( <br/>The Mad Hatters Tea Party cocktail I had my heart set on : Makers Mark, Chambord, Earl Grey tea and mint - sounded sooo refreshing and I really wanted one. So, it added to my disappointment when the waitress told me they were out of ingredients for it. But with the disgusted look on my face she said she would check. Luckily they produced one but the excitement was gone so it didn’t taste as good as it should have.<br/>What was meant to be a relaxing long lunch turned into a whirlwind with the small plates and mains delivered at breakneck speed - we finished our dining experience in a record 35 minutes! Strangely the bland tasteless cos/cress side salad sitting in a watery oil base was served when our mains were almost finished. I didn’t understand the rush given there were only 2 other couples dining. <br/>My Darling ordered a chilli wagyu beef cup - one bite in a lettuce leaf which was quite tasty and I had a mussel fritter with a huge amount of gribiche that outweighed the mussel. And there was only one mussel to enjoy. For a main My Darling ordered Wagyu Short Rib with parsnip purée and I had Sesame Crusted Tarakihi with Chinese broccoli. Now the timing of these dishes came out tapas style, however the small plates were average $5 and mouthful size so not like you could actually share. My Darling enjoyed the wagyu and the side of potato skins however my tarakihi which did have sesame seeds on top but did not seem ‘encrusted’ and had none of the toasty nuttiness I expected being drowned out with a sea of oyster sauce and unseasoned couscous. I was starving though and the fish was cooked beautifully so polished it off. The main portions were good size but you are paying Euro prices without the finesse, service or experience.<br/>Ending our meal, on payment we were asked by the unfailingly abrupt waitress, in the most disinterested manner, ‘was everything alright with our meals’. Where to start? As a bar under city lights I’m sure it could be a magical experience.<br/>So we walked across Federal Street for a cocktail at the #Huami streetside bar which redeemed the afternoon with the friendly, professional service and delicate attention to cocktail detail.<br/>#meandmydarlings #FoodieLusciousNZ

The entrance was a little hard to find, but once you enter up the stairs it’s quite a nice large venue. Staff were friendly. My gurnard dish was delicious and cooked just right. Would return again.

The service is good.<br/>We like the chill clam (medium plate), potato waffle (medium plate) and lettuce cup beef (bite).<br/>The large plates are OK.<br/>Kindly feel like the dishes are like Western Chinese food
Chun Yi
the smoked potato waffle with avo mousse is op af. (always get extra avo mousse on the side). I’m a eggplant fan but the eggplant chips was pre average. Also the bites aren’t really worth it for the price. With desserts, The choc marquise icecream is the one to get.
Louise
Came here a few days ago and thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. Especially because they’re on first tables it’s really worth it! <br/>Although I have to say the large is advertised as for one person but I expected it to be slightly larger - it’s more the size of a medium plate in my opinion.<br/>
James Bramin
I went here with a group of mates on a evening. The venue was quite buzzing with people, but I have been advised that it is always quite packed. The atmosphere was a pretty positive experience, good view of SKY TOWER. The quality of food could be improved a little for the price. Some may find the portions a bit small (of course I speak for the guys I was with). After experiencing the food we moved on to drinks. we stayed pretty late, served by a bartender named Tol, she served us our drinks but my mates could not stop noticing throughout our night this chick kept scratching her fu***** vag , the first time we noticed we had a chuckle then we counted a total of five she really should have really been excused. Bartenders should be mindful that yes there is a bar between you and your customers but we can still see we are not all drunk. the fellas and I did not fancy imagining crabs and other smelly things etc while we gulped down our drinks, not a good look. Service was good initially when the waitress taking our order think her name was Linda. Her manner was super efficient however, on a small note when dishes were cleared in a timely manner she did not wipe the table which did have some food on it, but it was quite busy at the time. We want to come again but the drinks experience has left a bad taste in our mouths sorry to say . Over atmosphere would give 4 stars- Cannot fault the atmosphere though

It was great place for lunch:) waitress recommended bite menu and were great! Thank you:) i had waffle and eggplant as i saw from Zomato, but it wasnt great as i expected. I love the pork dish from medium plate, and duck dish was great.

Came here using first table a few days ago. <br/>We sat outside which was really nice since it was a beautiful day. <br/>The lady who handed us our menu was super nice and informative about the menu and portion sizes of their food. She was just really smiley and gave their restaurant a good impression. <br/>The reason why I’m giving this a 3star is because of the food. Everything was presented beautifully but the flavour was overall bland. The potato waffles was the only dish I enjoyed. <br/>The eggplant chips were good but the batter kept on falling off so it wasn’t really chips. <br/>For my main I ordered the Sesame Crusted Tarakihi which was the biggest let down. The fish was fine but had some under cooked parts but that didn’t bother me. The dish over all was under seasoned and very mushy. There wasn’t any texture to it. <br/>I wouldn’t come back for food but it’s a nice location for drinks and nibbles.
Niamh Slattery
Really nice spot to sit outside when the weather is good. The staff are friendly and attentive throughout which is great<br/>We shared four smaller plates which was advised is enough and it was.<br/>We had the aubergine chips which were very tasty lovely crunchy cumin outside and lovely creamy cashew dip to counter the sometime v salty chip<br/>The pork cheek which had lovely pork meat but not enough black pudding (only two slices) and was mostly potatoes which is good if you want to be full.<br/>The raw beef and slaw was the surprise win for us, slightly tricky to spoon off the side of the plate but lovely with the slaw<br/>Finally we had the kale and polenta, liked the polenta as it was crisp on the outside and the crisp kale was tasty if not a wee but salty<br/><br/>We would stop in again for drinks and some snacks
Bubut
We wanted to try something different and we did. We had our lunch in the open area where we can see the jumpers off sky tower. The food was delicious. We loved the attentiveness of the waitress to all customers.
Mai
I went here with a group of friends on a Monday evening. There was not much customer given it was Monday, but I heard that it is usually very busy especially from Thursday. It was an ok experience for me. <br/>The food quality lags the price range quite a bit. The portion is small. There is not much different from medium dishes to large dishes. Taste was average. The chilli clams was quite salty, and it was not spicy as it’s name indicated. The short rib was good~~ meat fall off the bone every easily, it is a well-balanced dish. Drinks were good. <br/>Service was good initially when the waitress taking our order. However, after all our dishes were cleared. The waitress did not bother to wipe our table which had some pieces of food on it despite checking on our table twice for dessert. So we were finishing our drinks on a messy table. <br/>

Glass goose is really nice! The inside is warm and inviting, making you feel relaxed.<br/>The staff are very friendly and helpful,<br/>The pork cheeks are so yum! They melt in your mouth it never dissapoints me everytime i get it.<br/>Cant wait to go back!

Not the place to have a quiet meal and catch up for a dinner. The food and wine is overpriced for what it is. $11 dollars for the cheapest glass of wine on the menu and what with a simple cheeseboard being $30 decided on an entree sized pork slider and a share of potato skins which were very minimal. Overall ok for a drink with friends after work and move on to a place where there is value for what you eat. On saying that, I’m out of touch with the cost of eating out in town after many years working on the North Shore.
Lovemesumfood
Came here last night for my friends birthday. Service was terrible! Tired to get the waitress's attention for 30mins before they even looked my way and another 20mins before they came to take my order. I ordered the potato skins which were okay but not worth the price & also the pork cheeks which I did not enjoy at all I had to send it back to the kitchen as it was so sour but they were nice about it and took it off the bill for me. Overall I will not be coming back for the food but if I ever want to have cocktails then maybe I'll come back.
Amorita Maharaj
Lovely bar and buzzing. Love the rooftop cherry blossom setup however you need to make a booking to ensure you get a table. Without a reservation it’s quite difficult to get a table so you end up basically standing all night. Nice cocktails and lovely atmosphere.
Darren Big Belly
Came here for lunch and ordered a fair bit of options to try. Expect around $100 for a good portion of food for two. The price however isn’t reflected in food quality. So very unfortunate. <br/>The service and setting was fantastic but the flavours in food was underwhelming and either bland or too salty.<br/><br/>Potato & Cod croquet - there was no pop in flavour. It was just as you would expect - a croquet with potato and some cod.<br/>Beef in lettuce cup - way too salty. The lettuce was not enough to counter the salty beef.<br/>Chilli clams - it’s feels like steamed cockles mixed in a bath of sauce. The bread was great though, lots of olive oil. <br/>Pork cheeks - super tender. The apple slices compliments the fatty cheeks quite well. This was a decent dish.<br/>Beef short ribs - wow this was fall of the bone tender. I didn’t even need a knife. However, neither the pork cheeks or beef short ribs had much special flavour. They just felt... what it’s supposed to be. No surprises, no wow factors.<br/><br/>Service 4.5/5<br/>Food 3/5<br/>Accessibility 3.5/5<br/>Setting 4/5

Thank you glassgoose so much for the wonderful experience, had my 21st nibbles and drinks party and everything was perfect. A nice foyer space reserved clean and tidy for me and my 16 guests. Staff was very helpful and patient with us

Ambience 5/5, Cocktails 5/5, Food 3/5, Service 3/5. A great place to go for drinks and nibbles with friends before heading out for dinner. It was very relaxed place ambience was fabulous. Good selection of wines though price wise nothing below $50. Cocktails were very good, Amaretto sour, Basil Grande and Espresso Martini well worth sampling as we were celebrating my daughters birthday with friends. The food was mixed — meat platter was shared among 3 there was more bread than meat, market fish, duck were tasty, Haloumi with pumpkin arrived cold (disappointing) and yet good flavours. Duck fat potatoes arrived hot and certainly filled a gap as we waited for our mains. The waitress was really pleasant and yet we had to go find her for service not just once, several times. Would definitely go back for drinks and a few tapas - not for dinner!

Better than I expected. Had a girl with cello on Friday lunchtime, felt cozy and relaxed. The bar had a wide range of alcohols to choose from. Great for group dining or casual bites.

A group of friends and i (6 in total) went here after work on Friday night. We had booked a table through their website. When we arrived they didnt have our booking and told us to wait at the bar for 5-10 minutes while they sorted us a table. We waited 15 and then went to ask again where our table was, someone else had sat people on it. So we waited another 15 minutes and finally got seated.<br/><br/>The service is appalling. We asked 3 different people to take our order (they couldn't because it wasnt their section) and when I was getting up to go order at the bar someone finally could take our order. The service was ok after that but the damage was done.<br/><br/>The food we ordered from the main menu was all delicious, well seasoned and came out in a good amount of time. The creme brulee that my friend and I had was so bad, just tasted like over cooked egg. We sent them back and got new desserts which were better. The manager did comp the desserts but sadly didn't tell us this so we paid for our friends desserts as we paid first and they got the free one.<br/><br/>I dont think I would come back here again based on the service we received alone. I have worked in many restaurants and never have any of my staff not taken an order when it was asked to be taken by a customer just because it wasnt their section.
Christian
The place is very spacious feeling comfortable on the rooftop. Limited but diverse sections of food but drink menu is rather disappointing. Limited wine choices and no decent craft beers. Food are nice and plentiful but nothing stands out for me in the night.

Came here for dinner a while back. We were promptly seated and given menus and water. <br/>I ordered the potato waffles with avocado and they tasted as good as they sound. <br/>We also ordered the duck fat potato skins and the pulled pork sliders. The potato skins were great when they were hot. <br/>Overall it was a good experience. <br/>The glass goose is great for drinks and functions. <br/>

Husband and I visited the Glass Goose for our wedding anniversary dinner, and we could not have chosen a better place.<br/><br/>They were holding a ‘Secret Winter Garden’ special event, and the entire place was decorated with cherry blossoms, lanterns, paper umbrellas, and fairy lights. It was absolutely magical. <br/><br/>They were completely booked up on Friday night, so I would highly suggest securing a table in advance. <br/><br/>Their cocktails were beautiful. The sour apple one tasted exactly like an apple pie! The dark chocolate one was gorgeous too, although it got a bit too bitter towards the end.<br/><br/>The show stopper was definitely the duck fat potato fries. It was so perfectly crispy and fluffy on the inside. Served wit aioli, we could not stop eating it! The rosemary was definitely a nice touch.<br/><br/>Definitely a place that we would love to come back to for bites and drinks :)

The potato skin is interesting, but the watermelon & sparkling wine oyster is amazing! Give it a try and it want let you down.<br/>The food presentation is good and the interior design is romantic.<br/>Definitely will come back and get some drinks.

Food : 4.5/5<br/>Price : 4.5/5<br/>Atmosphere : 5/5<br/>Service : 3/5<br/><br/>The glass goose is famous for its rooftop atmosphere. The ambience is very good and it’s a perfect spot for a date night. <br/><br/>We ordered pulled pork sliders, pan roasted market fish, and roasted duck breast and a bottle of wine. <br/><br/>Food was very good. I enjoyed all of them. Pulled pork sliders were not presented very nicely but it tasted much better than it looks. My pan roasted market fish was delicious especially smoked kumara mash was fantastic. My friend enjoyed her duck breast too but we think it’s a bit salty.<br/><br/>The wine glasses and the water glasses were dirty with some dusts in the glasses and the waitstaff were not very attentive. We expected a better service. <br/>

We came to the glass goose for an early dinner. There was a good selection of medium and large plates for sharing and they all sounded very tasty: beef short rib, market fish, haloumi etc. <br/><br/>Between the four of us we ordered the oysters and waygu beef for bites and then the potato skin, haloumi salad and eggplant chips to share! The dish sounded very innovative but the taste was just average. The haloumi salad was delicious paired with fennel and grapes, however, there were only about 5 haloumi slices that were very thin. It's an entree size dish rather than a medium plate for sharing. The eggplant chips were a bit bland and but I liked the originality.<br/><br/>The large plates were definitely the biggest disappointments of the night. The market fish wasn't very fresh and there were a meagre 4/5 slices of thinly sliced crispy duck on a whole heap of noodles and bok Choy...when we ordered confit duck we had a large plate of duck in mind rather than duck on noodles. The beef short rib was the saving grace as it fell off the bone and worked perfectly with the potato mash. Overall I probably won't visit GG again.

Great vibes and service. Food is good, drinks.. ahh the variety.<br/><br/>Perfect place for after work drinks and nibbles in central Auckland. More of a social eatery vs a date night restaurant as music (on some nights and people talking may get pretty loud).

Glass Goose is tucked away within Federal St probably one of the best bars to go to after work where your also able to see the Sky Tower looming above you. Its the perfect hangout place whether its just for a quick Friday drink. The food and drinks are amazing. Definitely be going back some time soon.

We were greeted by the most lovely lady, who originally took us to our reserved table in the outdoor garden but considerately asked if we wanted to go inside (since it was a bit rainy). We took her offer and was led inside to an beautiful interior of an elegant yet sleek modern Cruise-Ship vibe, with leather seats and couches and wooden furniture. <br/>We got watermelon + sparkling wine oysters and the Bloody Mary oysters. They were fresh and full of exciting flavour! Plump oysters too! <br/>From Medium we got: Haloumi, roast pumpkin, fennel and grapes; braised pork cheeks; baked polenta. <br/>From Large we got: Wagyu short rib; NZ Lamb rump. <br/>From Sides we got Coberg and watercress salad. <br/>We finished with Pana Cotta and their Brûlée for dessert. <br/><br/>Haloumi was warm and nicely crisp and well seasoned. Pumpkin was dressed in a lifting dressing and was so tender! <br/>Braised pork cheeks were massive! Generous soft potato chunks with a tender chunk of pork cheek that melts away in the mouth! Could eat it all day! Albeit lacking a little in seasoning. <br/>Baked polenta was fresh from the oven, beautifully seasoned and the kale crisps were delightfully crispy and full of flavour! <br/>Wagyu Beef short ribs pulled apart from the bones and melts in the mouth; pickled apples on the side exploded with a bang! But the Wagyu Beef itself was again lacking in some wow factor. <br/>Lamb rump!!! What a star of the show! Perfectly cooked (medium rare) and perfectly seasoned! Crispy skin on the outside and is accompanied with a very aromatic purée and broccoli boiled to perfection. Wish the portion of it was a bit bigger! <br/>Salad was well-dressed in a tangy vinaigrette sauce and was juicy and crunchy in all the right places; with the extra crunch from sunflower seeds. <br/><br/> Brûlée and panna Cotta were very similar; dense yet creamy and not too sweet. The toasted coconut flakes for the panna Cotta was a brilliant touch! Though the pineapple felt a bit out of place. The Brûlée was complemented by soft crumbly ginger nut shortbreads which was beautiful. <br/><br/>We were served from start to finish by a lovely girl called Sam! She was patient, friendly, attentive and extremely onto it! Service here is excellent! <br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Price: 9/10<br/>Ambience: 10/10<br/>Service: 10/10

Awesome food and awesome<br/>Presentation . The service was also good . Staff is friendly and quick to react and took great care of our need in food as we were confused what to order . I like places which are clean and tidy kudos to the cleaners . I have handful of them in Auckland and this is one of them . Again awesome food staff and proper neat hygiene.

awesome view, friendly staff and food was delicious worth for money.. eggplant chips were nice.. pull brisket was heaven... and wagyu short rib was tasty. Ordered Chocolate marquise for dessert it was simply delicious however I personally feel the scoop of an ice cream was bit less and not enough for the 2 pieces of big chocolate marquise. However definitely going to back back here. Best rooftop bar in CBD.

Amazing food and great ambience! I love the food and ambience overall. I took my friend who came to visit from a faraway country here and she was very happy. I will definitely come back with more friends. <br/><br/>I recommend the food in the photos. The oysters were plump and juicy. The eggplants were crispy, although I couldn't taste much of the pistachio but it was still delicious. Also, try the pan roasted market fish!
David
Bite was a mussel fritter plus a side of duck fat potato skins. For the large main we ordered the wagyu short ribs, finished off with the chocolate marquise for desert. Food was outstanding, service tops 🤙🏽. Definitely coming back 😎Erika Tutiya

Recently went back for the Prosé - tasted amazing! Will definitely be going back for more! Great rooftop bar with great atmosphere. Good for large groups as well as intimate dates!

Amazing and delicious food in everything they cook! Ordered: pork belly bites, chilli clams, roasted duck breast and wagyu short rib. The pork belly was a miss. Expensive for ONE piece of meat and not tasty at all. The clams however were the best ! So juicy and fresh with subtle chilli taste. The complimented bread was also toasted to perfection! The duck breast was cooked to perfection ~ so tender. Went beautifully with the bok Choi and noodles. Very unique dish. The wagyu meat was again cooked to perfection- the meat fell off the bone. The black sauce however was a little strong but still delicious with the meat. Will come again !!

Visited this place around 4.30 on a Friday after a day out with my friend. The restaurant wasn’t packed when we arrived but was fully packed when we left.<br/><br/>Service: Excellent. The host and the two waitresses were friendly and attentive. Our water bottle is refilled constantly and they always asked us if we like the food, whether we need anything else every time they were at our table.<br/><br/>Ambience: Very spacious, perfect for big groups. There are indoor and outdoor area with a glass ceiling. The indoor seatings are more spacious and comfortable in my opinion, perfect for dinner dates, while the outdoor table would be ideal for a nice brunch under the sun. <br/><br/>Food: We ordered Potato skin, Moroccan cauliflower couscous with pine nuts, Wagyu short ribs, Smoked potato waffles with avocado mousse. I have mixed feelings about the food. I absolutely love with the Potato skin and the Wagyu short ribs. The potato skin was so delicious together with the sauce. I could eat it all day. The beed short ribs were tender and sublime, along with the crispy onions and mashed potatoes. On the other hand, I don’t like the couscous, it’s actually quite bland, while the potato waffles felt dry and heavy.<br/><br/>Overall, good impression. Definitely coming back for brunch menu and service 😊

Potatoe Skins were amazing. Wine selection was gross. Staff were slightly awkward like we werent goodcenough to be there. Perhaps they were used to a different type of customer and not a work function. . Food overall was lovely.<br/><br/>We had our work function here Saturday night that wrapped up and was open to the public around 11pm.<br/><br/>As people started to roll in we already on our 6th round or so.<br/><br/>Your Staff Member who was blonde and had the pigtails braids was extremely rude and cleared up drinks that were full and food that we were still eating.<br/><br/>When advised that the people were in the bathroom or just outside and coming back she replied " Oh sorry " .<br/><br/>She then came around again thinking we wouldnt notice to try do it again and when prompted she replied " oh well "<br/><br/>She also tried to take our 3 full Red Bulls which I advised were for us when leaving before we go to another club.<br/><br/>She was hesitant to leave those also. Which raised the question " If it was Sprite or Coke would she have done the same ? "<br/><br/>I know that stockpiling drinks is not allowed in any estabilishment and a manager must uphold that that isnt happening but this was not the case.<br/><br/>We were very loud but not overly drunk.<br/><br/>The music was so boring which most people complained about.<br/><br/>I wouldnt come back to this place based on the overall mood of the place and that one staff member.<br/><br/>Such a shame as its a lovely estabilishment.<br/><br/>

So this guy told me my wife is drunk. I knew her past 5 years and never ever she got drunk. Thats pathetic. We were 8 people and was suppose to leave. I am leaving India tomorrow. Thats really sad. Thats how you treat tourist? . Sorry but not done

This nice coffee shop its located in Auckland, not easy to find the entrance since it is located behind another coffee shop and a restaurant, its like a hide out 😎<br/><br/>It has a bar as well and they close at late hours.<br/><br/>I like it there because we can sit outside and the roof above is glass so you can enjoy the weather if it is sunny or rainy ,plus you can watch people jumping with the rope from the tower.<br/><br/>Coffee it is nice.<br/><br/>Staff really nice.<br/><br/>I already visited them twice and both times I bring my colleagues and they do like it there.<br/><br/>Definitely I'm visiting again.

got the duck and the potato skins and it was pretty damn good, defiantly will be coming back to try the other things on the menu. Even if you're wanting to have a drink The Glass Goose is the perfect place.

Very slow service. The waitress was lovely though but she was serving 20 people on her own. My main had a extremely salty. Other mains around the table said large but hardly enough for one. Ambience and decor was good.

Great atmosphere especially at night with the sky tower in full view. Often stop here for a coffee in the morning or for dinner and drinks. Lovely staff there too. They make the most amazing cocktails too!

A place to remember and start your day with health and sumptuous breakfast. The staff at the restaurant are very courteous and go extra mile in serving the guests. The restaurant has a good ambience and its open roof dining area gives u a great pleasure of enjoying the fresh air with fresh food ..<br/><br/>Thanks Chef ABY for making our day with your lovely breakfast and great skills of making an empty stomach guy to get loaded with good memories and not the least filled with food also.😊<br/><br/>I would keep coming to the restaurant ...Keep rocking guys.

What a fantastic setup - a very funky roof top type bar with a cosy and inviting inside dinning area. The food was fantastic and couldn't be faulted - we all loved our meals - huge compliments to the chefs!! The wagyu short rib just fell apart and melted in your mouth, the potato cod croquettes were on point with a nice golden crunch and who could go wrong with those duck fat potato skins. The only thing that let the review down was the service - it was good at the start (to get the orders in and food out) but then it ended... it took a long time for our plates to be cleared and when they were it was only half of them and then coming back for the other half later. We had to ask for desert menus twice and our water didn't get topped up. No one checked if everything was ok with our meals - even though it was. If the service staff up their game I'd give this place a 5 - I look forward to coming back to reassess.

Hidden gem along Federal Street! In a small walkway, you will find a lit- up stairs and and you will be greeted by friendly staff. I like the atmosphere and the crowd of working professionals. So we ordered drinks but the menu didn't appeal to me that much. Plenty of drinks and alcohol/cocktails to choose from and service was prompt. Price was OK. We supposed to sit on the outdoor area but the tables and chairs were wet and nobody even bothered to wipe it. So we sat indoor/bar area instead. Still a good night, we love the ambiance and the lighting sets a good mood for drinking! Cheers and would come back again next week 🍸

Great service! Love how friendly the staff members were :)<br/>We came here for my friend's 21st birthday and they allowed us to decorate our tables beforehand. They were super helpful-asking us if we've ever been here, explaining their menu, advising us on what/how much to order, etc.<br/>We also brought in a cake and they were really nice- NO extra cakeage fee- PLUS provided the extra plates, cutlery, lighter and knife without us ever asking for it. The staff members were so thoughtful and nice, they even presented the cake on a wooden board for us to give to our friend. Honestly, we were really touched and grateful. They made the dining experience pleasurable.<br/>Has a superb atmosphere with nice lighting and decorations in both the indoor and outdoor seating areas. Food was delicious and tasty af haha especially the duck fat potato skins -a must try!!- and duck breast was mouth-wateringgg<br/>It is kind of on the pricey side, so probably recommend going on a special occasion. However, the food and service are totally worth it, definitely will be back!

Went here for dinner our first night in Auckland on a Sunday and while quiet the food was outstanding. So much so that we came back for breakfast in the morning and liked it even more than dinner. Go the ricotta hotcakes or the egg & bacon bagel with mushrooms. Coffee is also top notch and on par with any other major city roasters.

ATMOSPHERE:<br/>I love the indoor outdoor area and the glass and spaciousness of it all. Definitely a nice after work drink kind of place if you don't mind being around what I assume is a lot of corporates<br/>SERVICE:<br/>For some reason when I went the staff seemed a bit weird and stand-offish. The boss man gave us the bill to pay when we were still chatting after dinner which was fine, however when my friend went to the toilet the waitress handed us another bill which made us feel like we were being chased/accused for walking out without paying. There was only one other group table there apart from us (breakfast time).<br/><br/>FOOD:<br/>I had the field mushrooms on toast which was quite dry. It was nothing outstanding, pretty standard stuff (if not below average). The Agria potato hash was also pretty standard however I will say the kransky was really good! Portion size was good and we left full. Unfortunate that we didn't really enjoy the breakfast menu, next time we will try the lunch one to see if its better.

Been to Glass Goose few times on Tuesdays  never have been so packed but went in today with some friends as we got the table we ordered few rounds of drinks they seemed to be pretty okay, then we decided to order some food as well so we ordered Lamb Rump, Pork Cheek, Duck Breast & Duck fats as well must say the place seemed to be so busy but the food was really yummy and specifically Lamb and the Duck dish was cooked really beautifully, Pork cheek was nice & tender and Duck fats is the star dish that we order every time we come here. Thanks chefs for cooking us the amazing food definitely coming back here again and again. Big thumbs up guys doing great job..... :-)

The atmosphere was really great as it was not to busy. Came here with my boy friend on Monday 9th as it was our Anniversary dinner and we ordered some bites and had Lamb Rump and Duck Breast as well. Both the dishes were cooked beautifully simply loved it. The staff was amazing as well. Will recommend everyone and we will definitely come back again.

We came here for my birthday dinner and loved it so much we came back the next day for brunch. Couldn't fault the place. Super friendly and helpful staff, tasty and filling meals, brilliant coffee, fast service. Highlights were the Bloody Mary oysters, the pork cheek, potato skins, coffee, and the hash and kransky meal on the breakfast menu. Brunch pictures attached - forgot to take pictures of dinner before we devoured it! Definitely coming back 😍

Really nice sunny spot. Great service. Staff all very attentive. Only flaw was a really unpleasant fish smell from the kitchen and then again when the meals were near to us.. perhaps wouldn't order that if I was to eat a proper meal there as it was very fishy. However the potato skins were amazing!! Will be back.

Good vibes. Great place for after work drinks. Always a primo spot for my mates and I to chill out and just catch up. Highly recommend. Great service and good atmosphere

My friend booked a table here for our Christmas dinner. I thought the servings would be too small for the prices listed... I was wrong. :) We really enjoyed our night. Staff are very friendly. The young Asian girl with braces was very very nice and helpful since we asked about their food. Good on her. Drinks were really yum and priced just right! Would recommend to all.<br/><br/>I'm not a big fan of Pork, but I tried their "medium" pork cheek dish and it was tender and filled with so much flavour. It is a must try.<br/><br/>This place would be more enjoyed if you are 'sharing', food with a group, but our group chose to have a meal each with an entree to share. <br/>I asked everyone at my table how their food was, and all seemed to love it. <br/><br/>Will come back. Thank you❤️

This place is literally hidden away on Federal Street because we had so much trouble trying to locate it. The outdoor seating area of this place is insane and is so so beautiful. As it was a Monday morning, we were pretty much the only two people there, giving me the perfect opportunity to snap as many photos of their decor as possible.

Such beautiful interiors by CtrlSpace! Always such a good vibe and beautiful views of the sky tower! :) must try the food one day, but very good for Friday night drinkies!

Stumbled upon this place a while ago- it isn't the easiest place to find! Lovely spot with a nice outdoor area and the inside is just as nice. The menu is definitely 'different'- we only had cocktails though but I would try a meal there. My only only complaint would be that it was too dark- we had to use our phone lights to see the menu and the waitress didn't seem too bothered by that?! Other than that the ambience was amazing, will definitely be back :)

Customer service! Really good customer service at The Glass Goose. Also with a good range of drinks and tasty food makes this place awesome. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place hang out with friends.

Came here for a late lunch with some friends, I ordered the pulled brisket with pickles and mustard which was tasty we also ordered some duck fat potato skins which were tasty but would of loved more sauce for dipping. All in all was a good lunch.

This is the place to be in summer! The outdoor section is stunning and the cocktails are creatively devine! Haven't had food here, but hey, I would go back just for the cocktails! 🍸🍹

Came here for lunch with my friend today, there was few customers and only one staff. We ordered potato cod croquettes, mussel fritters, eggplant chips and pulled brisket buns. I think their food was quite creative and unusual, but tasted just okay and was under my expectation.

Unique cafe in CBD. Price for food is not cheap as others but really reasonable. Fresh raw materials, excellent texture and taste. Staff were very friendly, kept wearing a smile when talked to me.

Went here for breakfast and it was delightful, I just love the decor and you don't feel like you're in the middle of AKL city. Got the smashed avocado with side of bacon which was simple but nice. Great friendly service too

Beautiful restaurant with modern decor & cuisine. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. One of Auckland's new gems. Fantastic if you just want to go out for drinks. Highly recommend!

Came in here for a quick lunch with my mother today. Very nice setting and decor. Like the idea of the side entrance keeps it done what if a "secret" you don't know it's there unless you know it's there kind of thing. Food was delicious ordered a Pulled Pork Slider, Chilli Wagu Beef lettuce cup and the Pork Cheeks. All of which went down superbly. Wait staff very friendly and not over bearing. Will definitely want to return

Went here for a Friday girls lunch. Very attentive service to start with but kind of faded away once the meal was served - they missed out on an extra glass of wine order and frustratingly we had to find the waitress to order coffees. Wasn't overly busy so no excuse really. Having said that, really enjoyed the food which was 'shared style'. Duck fat potato skins were a definite indulgent treat! Would go back for the food.
Louise
First timer here for lunch. Staff were amazing. A wet day today. We started outside with the heater on, then moved indoors, not a prob. Restaurant has a great feel. Lunch was yum, big sis had haloumi salad, me the cauli couscous, both delish. Duck fat spuds as a side not so healthy but worth it. Our new fav

We came here for a girls lunch on a rainy Saturday afternoon - maybe because of the weather the place was completely empty when we arrived. The decor is beautiful - loved the sunken bar. We ordered a mixture of plates to share between us. The beef brisket bun was my favourite, we also had the potato waffles, potato skins, cauli flower salad and the duck. The duck was the most disappointing - not very flavoursome at all. I think this place would definitely be better in the evening for a few cocktails before heading somewhere else for dinner.
BenG
Perfectly balanced atmosphere of energy without being so loud you couldn't speak.<br/>Tapas plate selection was varied, tasty and substantial with food left on the plate.<br/>The showstopper for me was the dessert, Salted Caramel Whoopie Pie. Two words - flavour bomb.<br/>Highly recommended (the venue and the Whoopie Pie)

The place is hidden beside federal street, you can find it at the side of Gloria jeans café. The environment, lights and service, wine are really good honestly. It's not overcrowded during peak time. But what needs to improve is the food taste. It costs almost same for two people in depot eatery. Besides, the background music is too loud at times. If the waitress recommend you potato in sides, don't take it!<br/>Overall,it's a place suits for friend to catch up and chat instead of having meals.

Dined here tonight with my partner, this place has an awesome vibe, I love the decor. The staff are great, we were greeted when we arrived & offered indoor or outdoor seating. The menu was explained to us & the waitress looked after us throughout our visit. For starters we had some bite size options I had pork belly & a potato cod croquette & my partner had a slider & pork belly. The pork belly was my favourite dish of the night & I thought the bite size selection of the menu was an excellent idea as you can choose a variety of sample sized dishes to try. For main we shared duck fat potatoes, spicy rare beef & duck. The food I was a little disappointed in. The duck was overcooked & a little chewy & the all of the dishes were rather bland & lacking a bit in flavour. I did however really enjoy the duck fat potatoes. Overall we had a pleasant evening. I would definitely recommend this place for a drink & some duck fat potato skins but not so much for a meal.
Jessica Li
Beautiful place! The lights are so contemporary and hipster and I love the part outdoors and indoors set out. I got a mojito and it was so delicious! It came out super fast and it was presented so nicely as well. The ambience of the place was great as well, I was definitely vibing it. I would definitely come back :)

Came here tonight thinking it wouldnt be too hard to grab a table for 2 for a meal and drinks. We were greeted right away and sat close to the kitchen, customer service so far was polite, fast and friendly. Complimentary sparkling water was brought over first thing and drink orders were taken promptly. Waitress came back and took our food order and we tried a little bit of everything from the menu. The pork sliders were tasty and moreish, I reckon I could of eaten 6. Not smothered in bbq sauce like most joints and just the perfect level of crispy/fluffy ratio on the bun. The eggplant fries came out and visually looked stunning. A nice crispy coat on the outside with crunch and fennel seeds. However one thing that it needed was salt, straight from the fryer to the plate wasn't pleasant and the dip it was served with was rather bland and unexciting, it needed seasoning also. The haloumi and pumpkin salad for us was the highlight. I couldnt pin point the flavour combo from the dressing but it worked perfectly with the crisp fennel and soft pumpkin and everything just tapdanced on your tounge. The biggest letdown of the night was the brussel sprouts. Listed on the menu served with bacon, ours had very little to none alongside them and although the texture and frying of the sprout was bang on, the flavours were not there and simply tasted of honey and also very little salt on these either. Duck fat skins were a treat and the aioli which appeared to be housemade was equally delicious. Wouldnt of minded a bit more of a rosemary tang but none the less still tasty. Cocktail was delicious and downed within seconds however waitress bought me the wrong beer but I didnt say anything due to feeling like a low carb brew anyway so it all worked out. Overall I can see why the place is busy, a very cool fitout for after work drinks and dinners out with clients. Nice views of the skytower and excellent, attentive customer service. Dinner menu is well constructed and tasty, just nothing stupidly amazing.

Got the lovely opportunity to dine here for date night!<br/><br/> Beautiful restaurant! I'm a firm believer that you can tell how good I restaurant it based on how clean and well presented the toilets are. . (Weird but very true, think about it haha) The Glass Goose really hit the ball on how amazing the restaurant is! <br/><br/> Beautiful location, you get a really nice view of the Skytower and I love the fairy lights everywhere! <br/><br/> The food 😍 as bites we grabbed the potato croquette and chilli wagyu beef lettuce cup. Love love LOVE! Each bites dish, flavourful, well done and I'll happily order many more of these dishes! Highly recommend! <br/><br/> As medium dishes we ordered the pork cheeks and the smoked potato waffles! I loved the potato waffles, definitely had a strong smoked flavour! Waffle was nice and crispy, and unique, very unique. The avocado mouse was fresh and complimented the waffles well. I didn't particularly like the pork cheeks it was more of an interesting flavour in my opinion. However the potato wedges were nice, crispy, and chunky ~<br/><br/>Lastly for mains we ordered the fish, which was amazingly! Beautifully season and each element on the dish complimented each other magnificently! In love, highly recommend the fish.<br/><br/> Staff are lovely, friendly, and attentive. Overall, very impressed with the ambiance of this place. Highly recommend and will be back to sample more from the menu!

We came here for a good night with some friends and had the worst experience with the door staff. Before even coming in, they had already denied entry to one of us stating that the individual was intoxicated. Infact the individual was our sober driver. The first question we were asked was "where are you from?", essentially showing a pre-determined generalisation. We advised that we were not intoxicated and for the host to do other queries. They chose not to try or test their assumptions. The manager did not wish to override the host's decision. Essentially the worst service experience we have had. Would definitely not recommend this place.

Glass goose is a hidden bar with a very classy yet modern feel to it. After reading all the reviews, i had high hopes for this lovely place. The service was prompt and quick and the decorations are definitely setting the mood right. More importantly though, the food itself was very simply put together. although alot of people recommended the eggplant chips, i personally didnt like it at all. The cumming on the eggplant overpowers the taste of the eggplant and the sauce is kinda tasteless. My favorite was the brisket bun, if you are a fan of soft inside yet crispy outside buns, then this would be what you should get!

I heard this place was recently new and there were a lot of raves about it, so I got my family to come here for dinner while we were staying in Auckland. On our walk there, we almost walked passed it to be honest. It was night time, so it was quite dark. We didn’t see the sign at first, but once we did, we turned down a little alleyway. I also didn’t realize it was upstairs!<br/><br/>My first impression when I walked up the stairs was WOW. It was so pretty outside, I knew immediately I wanted to have my 21st here. I loved the big space, and the lights that hung above. We were seated inside, on the far side, but close to the bar. I love how central the bar was, and the interior décor of this place. It was very quiet too.<br/><br/>It was quite dark when we were reading our menus. I could read mine just fine, but my parents struggled a bit. The lighting was quite poor, and it’s especially hard for older people, seeing as their eyesight isn’t as great. I had to get my cellphone light out just so they could read it. There were candles on our table, but our waitress didn’t light them?<br/><br/>For our entrée, we all shared some dishes from the medium section. We were told that they were more suited for an entrée than the bites. We also had a main each. So to share we had:<br/><br/>Eggplant chips with pistachio dip for $14: They were very unusual. I could definitely taste all of the different spices, almost like a dukkah.<br/><br/>Duck fat potato skins with, garlic, rosemary, aioli for $12:<br/>We were all quite surprised when this came out as our second dish with our entrees. We thought it was a side, so wouldn’t it make sense for it to come out with our mains? My family was a bit disappointed because we wanted to have them with our meals, but we had to eat them, otherwise they would have gone cold. They’re definitely different from the potato skins I’ve had before. They had more potato attached to the skin. They were nice, but we all found it quite annoying that the aioli was on the bottom, underneath all of the potato skins. When eating them with your fingers, it made it hard to get to without touching all of the other potato skins, which isn’t the best if your sharing this dish with lots of other people. <br/><br/>Pulled pork brisket bun with pickles and mustard for $18: <br/>As soon as we were presented this, it reminded me of the bahn mi’s we had in Vietnam. It was nice and filling, however after having the ones in Vietnam, I didn’t find it as authentic. It was filled with a lot of pulled pork, pickles and mustard, but it would have been nice to add some cucumber or something fresh to it. <br/><br/>Braised pork cheeks, black pudding and watercress for $18: <br/>By the time this dish came out, our mains did too. We all thought this timing was very odd. This dish was quite big for an entrée. It was more like a main compared to the eggplant chips, so I’m not sure why they were both under the medium dishes. Maybe the eggplant chips would be more suited as a side? Anyways, I didn’t try this dish as I wanted to eat my main instead.<br/><br/>Pan roasted market fish ,smoked kumura and fresh greens for $29:<br/>I was quite full when it came to my main. But I still managed to finish it. The market fish was swordfish, and the fresh greens were bokchoy and green beans. I absolutely love fish, but I don’t think I’m a big fan of swordfish. It’s more meaty than other fish, so its not as moist and doesn’t melt in your mouth. But other than that I enjoyed my main. <br/><br/>Overall I’m not sure I can say I enjoyed my dining experience here. I was actually quite disappointed, seeing as I thought this place was the next big thing.<br/>The service was extremely fast, but maybe even too fast. If your wanting to have a quick feed before the movies then this is the place to go, not so much for leisurely dining. With my review I’m not trying to be mean, but I’m just giving my honest opinion and constructive criticism ☺

Such wonderful interest food here, love the fusion food idea and they pull it off excellently. My favourite was the chick taco entree, really flavoursome, and the wedges super crispy. The desert was and looked amazing would recommend for any table with lots of people .

The secret is out. The Glass Goose is officially open for breakfast! If you haven’t heard of The Glass Goose aka Auckland’s hottest rooftop bar, you need to go.  It became an immediate firm favourite of mine upon my first encounter with it, and I was thrilled to hear it is now serving breakfast too.

The Glass Goose had a really cool central atmosphere and decor. The waitress's advice on portions was very inaccurate as the large plates were not enough for one serving, so we ended up with very little food for the high prices. Although the flavours of the food were interesting and well executed the portions were not generous, especially not with the meat or fish.

Today was my first time for breakfast at Glass Goose. Andy, the manager, welcomed me with a big smile and it made me feel very comfortable. The waitress recommended the pineapple, banana, coconut water smoothie, it was fresh and delicious and of course it was dairy free. I had the field of mushrooms with feta, market greens and 5 grain bread. I'm allergic to eggs and the waitress made sure the food did not come in contact with anything that had been used for eggs. I also had 2 espressos and I think it's the best coffee I have ever had. To top it all off, there is free Wi-Fi, sparkling water and plugs to charge your phone. I will come back for breakfast another day!!

Classy in every way! Tucked behind Gloria jeans on Federal St this place doesn't need a big bold sign to attract diners because it's that good! The view is incredible.. gazing up at the sky tower and the birds over head is so pleasant on a fine evening. So cool to see an establishment like this catching on to the rooftop bar craze.. It reminded me a lot of Melbourne!<br/>Great that the menu matches the classy modern decor too but trying to decide what to order however is not an easy feat. Pork belly or duck breast or eggplant chips it all sounded delicious! In the end we settled for the duck breast, pork sliders, haloumi and pumpkin salad and the potato waffles with avocado mouse. A couple bellini's and we were set. The service was exceptional; the food was out in minutes and the waitress was very friendly! The duck breast was undisputably the highlight of the night.. So succulent with a salty crispy skin. The potato waffles and avocado mouse were also a big hit and I personally loved how fresh the avocado tasted. The haloumi salad was good but an overload of onions sort of stole the show. A great little spot that I look forward to returning to.

Love the interior decor that the indoor seating provides as well as the outdoor rooftop set up at Glass Goose. Food was lovely. I tried one of the two fish options available on my first visit here and on my second visit was told the second fish option had run out. So unfortunately as a non red meat eater I was not left with a lot of choice since chicken was also not on the menu. Would happily come back if chicken and other seafood options were added to the menu. Service was great and overall a great dining experience

So, it's 11.30pm on a Thursday night, I am visiting you humble city from one of Asia Pacific's most amazing city's, Melbourne. I am staying at the hotel next to your premises, and the hotel bar is closed. I would like a night cap, a simple request. But you 16 year old bar staff have the nerve to ask if I am invited to the 'private function' at you bar. First, there is no private function, there is about three people in your giant premise. Second, why give your company's business over to a pimple face kid? Yes, you are open, I am looking for a drink, do not e offensive and offer a blanket policy to any male coming to your bar. As a city you have about 100 years to catch up to cities like Melbourne, as a culture, you have far too far to go... good luck, and I hope you can rectify your mind-set. <br/>

Glass Goose is absolutely amazing - you couldn't ask for a better locations, situated off Federal street, right under the sky tower. Once you walk up the stairs the vibe and atmosphere is causal but premium on it's roof top bar. When you walk inside it gets even better.<br/><br/>For lunch and dinner, think Horopito lamb backstrap and Chilli wagyu beef lettuce cup, Haloumi, roast pumpkin, fennel, grapes, Roasted duck breast, ginger, bok choy and shucked oysters to share.<br/><br/>Glass Goose I would highly recommend for all occasions - casual drink and dinner after work, special occasions, or even business meeting occasions.

Love this place! Fabulous staff, food was delicious, great garden bar too.<br/>A group of 10 of us went for dinner- stand out dishes were the pork belly, the chilli beef lettuce wraps, duck fat potato skins and the thickly sliced beef with slaw and the Brussel sprouts.<br/>Staff so friendly and helpful. 10/10 will go again

Pretty piss poor service for a Sunday night. We eventually got up, paid for our drinks, and left after waiting for an hour for food that never came. <br/><br/>Thank you. Never again. A bunch of bloody Pelicans.

Well all I can say really is you gotta try it 😄 ten out of ten for everything. Previous reviews mention the croquettes and the crumbed pork belly, tried it and loved it! Half the table had the spicy glazed fillet and the other half had kingfish. Loved those too! Dessert was yummy and coffee was what it should be, strong and tasty. Thanks to Justine who was helpful, attentive and considerate. All up was well worth the money well worth! Not much wait with no compromise to quality 😍

After lunch on federal street we wanted to enjoy a drink somewhere sunny so where else but a roof top bar? Tucked around a corner I'm not sure if you would know it was there but kind of it makes it feel like a hidden gem you'd find somewhere in Melbourne. Was such a gorgeous day and being a Monday we had our pick of seats on the amazing sunny deck. Our waitress was so kind and friendly I almost wanted her to join us for a drink. I had a strawberry cocktail of some sort which they kindly changed the basil for mint as I'm not a fan. It was so good! Not too sweet or too tart, and not full of sugar syrup. My friend had a wine and a salted caramel Whoopi pie which with came with a really good quality vanilla ice cream. Such a great place to sit and have a drink. Have had a cheese board here on another occasion which was a really good selection and size. Maybe a couple of cushions on the bench couches would be good but now I'm being picky and if I was anymore comfy I probably would never have left!

I had my birthday here on the 28th of December, honestly I couldn't have asked for better service. The manager/bartender that was looking after us was amazing and I had the best afternoon! Would highly recommend this place for the great food and amazing service and I'll definitely go there again.

After reading all the amazing reviews, four of us decided to go and try. To be honest we were really disappointed<br/><br/>We ordered the oysters in three ways (natural, Watermelon & sparkling wine, and Bloody mary shot). I was looking for that crispy, icy cold salty freshness from the oysters, however, the oysters were served in room temperature which is a big no no for oyster lovers like me.<br/><br/>The meat board was average, I can buy better quality chorizo and salami from the sausage shop in La Cigale Market.<br/><br/>Also had the lamb, the market fish, and the beef fillet. The beef fillet was the highlight of the night, it had good flavour and the beef was perfectly cooked. The other two dishes were lack of seasoning and tasted bland. We ordered the lamb in medium but it came well done, and it was a bit chewy.<br/><br/>The eggplant chips and the bites were average. Especially the eggplant chips, it looked amazing and packed with seasoning, but when you put it in your month it was so bland and we wondered where were all the flavour? The cocktails were below average and watery.<br/><br/>Presentation was nice but the taste was average. After the entire meal we were really confused. $300 for four is not cheap, I would rather spend the money somewhere else. Will not go again

This is an incredibly late post but over a month ago, I went to The Glass Goose for the first time for #cocktailclub. The amazing NZbloggers group and Zomato teamed up for an awesome night. I met other NZ bloggers and we made cocktails together. It was a fun night. To know more about the cocktails we made and the food we ate, click below.

After reading the good reviews about this place and seeing all the photos, I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. Unfortunately it was a Friday night so the bar was open and there was a lot of people there. The music was so so loud we could hardly hear each other or the waitress. <br/><br/>We ordered a few dishes to try but in the end I only liked the eggplant chips - which was what I mostly wanted to go there for. The skin was so crispy and the eggplant itself was soft and juicy. I loved the pistachio dip it came with! Would definitely come back for this. <br/><br/>The pork belly bite, lamb main, and haloumi salad were really average. The Haloumi salad was bland - there wasn't anything special to it. The lamb main came with some mushrooms, green beans, mash potato and around 6 small pieces of lamb. Pretty much like an overpriced sunday roast. <br/><br/>Buuut I liked the Lemon & Rosemary Fizz - was really light and fizzy with a hint of rosemary :) <br/><br/>Overall it was an average experience. I would consider going to get eggplant chips again but probably during lunchtime - hopefully there won't be any loud music. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're like me and like quiet places. The waitress was lovely and friendly, which made it a bit nicer.

Cool bar to hang out in and just off Federal Street. Went for some birthday drinks with a few friends and it was great. The staff were really friendly and mixed some delicious cocktails! Try the Basil Grande - really nice! The bar is really spacious and has loads of space for big groups. It's well decorated and quite funky. We only moved on since they didn't have a dance floor!! Will be back there to try the food in the future.

We ordered our fairly usual mixture of drinks and confirmed with the barman where the smoking area was. He opened his arms, embracing the entire bar “everywhere.” Awesome.

First time I have been eating here.and I love it.it is a different type of food.<br/>Customer service was 5star. I love going to place and get a happy ,funny ,friendly waitress. Love it.<br/>Amazing outdoor .<br/>Must recommend.

I came here with work colleagues for lunch. I hate places that say they have sharing menus. I can understand how the bites and medium meals may be shared but I would feel uncomfortable sharing the large meals.<br/><br/>Half the table ordered bites and sides while the other all ordered to same large meal. It was clear everyone was ordering individually. The bites and sides came and we had finished eating before the large meals came out.<br/><br/>The bites and sides tasted good but you end up paying a lot for very little. Everyone loved their main meals. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed at lunch time with good tables for bigger groups.<br/><br/>Came here after work for drinks as well and it was nearly impossible to talk to the person next to you out on the deck. Nice place but not my favourite place on Federal Street.

Glass Goose is a great place for group bookings and has a really attentive team behind it. <br/>Tucked away on Fed St it's close to the action without being in the thick of it. The deck provides a great view of the Sky Tower. <br/>The team can accommodate group bookings. Being a party of 20, we were 15 minutes late for our reservation but they made space for us on the deck, then moved us underneath shelter when it started raining.<br/>Melissa was so patient and attentive, making sure to check in and providing clear suggestions on how to order (which is always helpful for large groups). <br/>Both the food and drink menu has wide appeal and easily shared -again, great for groups!

Great restaurant layout, great service very friendly staff. I ordered the "fresh pickings" made with rum, strawberries and garnished with cucumber mint and lemon - this cocktail was 5-Star. Nothing on the menu took my fancy so I didn't order any food. - could of had a few more cocktail choices

Thoroughly enjoyed the food, wine and atmosphere. The potato croquettes for starters are a must. The pork belly bites, also awesome. Mains were all extremely good too. Service was attentive. We sat inside as we were visiting for dinner, but there is an awesome outside area which would be lovely on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

This is a quite hidden place in federal street just behind gloria jeans cafe. We arrived around 07:30 PM on Saturday and the place was quite empty. We had eggplant chips for entry, two market fishes for meal and two pinot gris to follow. Meals were really good, tasteful and well presented. The service was quite good and meals came very fast. The interior of this place is quite comfortable with lots of sofas and a very nice decoration. We are definitely getting back here on another opportunity.

Hmmm.... I'm about to burst the rating buzz here. Firstly I was impressed with the outdoor area, very nice and a cool spot in the city. There were lots of suits chatting and enjoying their after work drinks, which is cool as we all need to unwind. The big let down for me was the food. I already knew it was going to be expensive but I was hoping for more of a taste explosion.<br/><br/>Haloumi - lots of things going on in the plate and taste was OK.<br/><br/>Eggplant - nice texture and it looked exciting, but it was tasteless, not enough flavor in the dip and the eggplant coating was overwhelmed with the taste of breadcrumbs.<br/><br/>Asparagus - that's all it was, would have loved a dressing that went with it. <br/><br/>My friend had the pork bite and a beer as well so the total bill was $57 for both of us.<br/><br/>In comparison with the price this should have been sensational but it was only ok. Would I go back again? Well, maybe if I was going for afterwork drinks 😕<br/><br/>

I really like the interior of this place its so on point. I've tried the lamb backstrap and the duck breast, both were delicious. The duck fat potatoes are yum. Pretty much all of the desserts are good and you can't go wrong. Great selection of wine available although I think the drink prices are on the pricey side.

I almost couldn't find this place, it's so discretely tucked away off federal st.  I came here for a friend's birthday on Friday, in short, this bar/eatery is really cool. The place was pretty much full. The cocktail menu has some nice and quirky options, not many people were actually dinning there which I think is a shame. I had the lamb backstrap, it  was sublime. I like how it's encouraged to share food, I also tried a friend's halloumi salad which was impressive. I really can't wait to come back.

Our third time here and the same issue each time - just poor service. The will is there (friendly staff) but perhaps they are short staffed? Either way, so far it's been the same routine each time....<br/><br/>Warm greeting on entry <br/>Seated <br/>Forgotten about<br/>Long wait <br/>Drinks order <br/>Long wait <br/>Food order <br/>You guessed it .... Long wait.<br/><br/>Reason this scores a 3 is that the food (when it arrived) was pretty good and the venue has a decent atmosphere. <br/><br/><br/>

3 completely distinct and beautiful dishes, and a side of potatoe skins, all promptly delivered, delicious, and decently sized. We were completely blown away. Nothing else to say- one of the best places for dinner and some drinks in the city.

love love LOVE this new eatery opened on Federal Street! You can find the Glass Goose right behind Gloria Jeans up a set of stairs btw :P<br/><br/>Came here on a Saturday night for dinner with my dad as we were too hungry to wait 2 hours for a seat at Depot. I was surprised at how huge the place was, with an open air balcony, a bar area and a restaurant area too; the set up was beautiful as the place was surrounded by glass windows and comfy cushioned seats along the edges. Unusually quiet tho for a Sat night, but this will likely change in my opinion.<br/><br/>For the both of us, we ordered a bloody mary oyster shot each, the eggplant fries, halloumi fennel pumpkin salad, bacon and Brussel sprouts in honey side, one pork belly and finally one lamb cutlet. As requested, the oyster shots came out first in no time at all in these adorable shot glasses coated with a sour salt on the rims and a generously sized oyster submerged in a bloody mary. I LOVED THIS! Super fresh and yum, great start to the night :P 10/10 would get again at only $4.50.<br/><br/>The rest of our meals came out around 5 minutes later which I thought was super fast for such amazing presentations.<br/> kk lets start with the best dish of the night, the pumpkin fennel halloumi salad!! This was unexpectedly packed full of flavour and the combination seemed to be a match made in heaven. Such a generous serving as well, I'm definitely ordering this the next time I come again 10/10 highly recommended!!<br/><br/>Brussel sprouts side dish: 7/10, nothing too special but for $10, defs worth the value as it came out in a humongous portion with heaps of bacon pieces on top; was quite sad that these pieces weren't crispy like I expected. Still a tasty side salad but wouldnt get again<br/><br/>Lamb Cutlet: 8/10, $6 for one cutlet does seem a bit pricey, but the lamb was beautifully cooked and super tender and flavoursome; the 'lamby taste' you often get with lamb wasnt tasted which was nice :) Would reccommened but maybe to share between the two although it is quite tiny<br/><br/>PorkBelly & Pancetta: 9/10 loved this tiny little cube of deliciousness; with a crunchy exterior coating a piece of pork belly which melted in your mouth, Definitely recommend this dish @ only $3.50 per piece. One was enough for me tho as it was quite fatty, defs a bite sized treat :)<br/><br/>Eggplant Fries: 10/10: THIS was probably the other best dish of the night. I think it was served with six MASSIVE eggplant fries ( as seen in the photo) with a generous dollop of pistachio yogurt dip on the side. I loved these fries so much and they made for a great side dish. Highly reccommended<br/><br/>Overall, service and ambiance was 10/10; definitely a place you could take someone to on a first date. The food was outstanding and a value for money! Both of us were close to rolling out of the place due to how full we were haha. <br/><br/>Reccommended dishes: Pumpkin halloumi fennel salad (the best salad ive ever had) & Eggplant fries + crumbed pork belly with pancetta. <br/><br/>Well done Glass Goose, Gg to my wallet as I'll definitely be returning soon to try more stuff from your menu :)

I wouldn't bring any of my "quiet" friends here...    There is a wonderful cacophony of sound --  But then that should be expected for a social / sharing venue.<br/><br/>I actually went to the Glass Goose by myself, for a quiet dinner. And while it wasn't quiet by any means the background of noise does (surprisingly) add to the feel of the place.<br/><br/>The food is interesting.  Apparently a good variety of sharing plates  --  but my chilli wagyu lettuce cups were more "lettuce poked in around the edges of a beef stew" than they were cups, so sharing would have been difficult.  Having said that the flavours were good and the wine selection is broad  --  though a few more New Zealand wines wouldn't go amiss.<br/><br/>My order had a slight hiccup in the kitchen  --  okay, it got lost  --  but they made it right and comp'd me the whole meal, which definitely made it right.  And then, so I didn't come in under budget, I had to order more wine making the whole event seem even better!

Hidden between office buildings and one way streets is a bar and bistro worth checking out. <br/><br/>Federal Street's newest addition goes under the name: The Glass Goose.<br/><br/>Only open since July of this year, The Glass Goose is making quite a name for itself. <br/><br/>One for those late night escapes or summer afternoons, The Glass Goose has a casual atmosphere with service that impresses. <br/><br/>Most of the menu is designed to be shared apart from the "bite" section - which I've now had most of. <br/><br/>Highly recommended are the Duck Fat Potato Skins and the Pulled Pork Sliders.
FoodiePhysician
Great location and awesome venue; has a cool spacious outdoor deck for chilling and indoor bar and dinning areas. The dinning areas look too much like a family diner which seems a bit out of place. But otherwise great vibe.<br/><br/>Friendly service; we had an awesome energetic waiter that was really helpful.<br/><br/>As a party of four, we had a few medium dishes, few large dishes and potato skin chips as a side. Food was all amazing; creative in taste and presentation with decent size portions. We had the wagyu in lettuce cups, tomato salad and haloumi salad, the beef fillet and pork tenderloin.<br/><br/>We had a few wines and beers; decent selection but could do with a few more beer choices.<br/><br/>Overall a great place; keen to return to try the rest of the menu. Recommend groups of 3-4 to share the many dishes available - there are just too many things to choose from if any smaller.<br/><br/>Around 40$ per person, not bad at all.<br/><br/>Solid 4.0 Yums

My first experience at The Glass Goose was actually an event hosted by #brunchclub and Zomato. We had a cocktail class scheduled for the evening and it was so exciting! <br/><br/>While we were all hanging around getting to know one another, the people at The Glass Goose brought out nibbles for us to try! We got to taste a variety of different things — pulled pork sliders, crumbed pork belly and pancetta, potato cod croquette, lamb cutlets and duck fat potato skins. I personally loved the lamb cutlets, which were tender and delicious. Unfortunately I missed out on the duck fat potato skins, but I'm 99.9% sure they would've been delicious as well!!<br/><br/>Our bartender for the night was so funny and totally rocked his Californian accent! He did an amazing job of teaching us how to make our preferred cocktails in little groups. We had two cocktails to choose from: The Beekeepers Blossom and the Fresh Pickings cocktail! The Beekeepers Blossom stood out because it had egg white in it, while the Fresh Pickings cocktail sounded more refreshing with fresh fruit (strawberries, cucumber and lime). Both were house favourites, but I decided to try the Fresh Pickings! I was taught how to make it along with a few other bloggers, and it tasted so refreshing and good! I loved the fresh strawberries and lime we used in our drinks! <br/><br/>The atmosphere here was perfect for both a date night and a catch up with friends.<br/>The service here was awesome as well. The bar tender was friendly and funny as well, and I had a lovely time here! I definitely will be coming back to try other dishes and I'd definitely reorder the cocktails we made!

I enjoyed the great atmosphere and vibe that The Glass Goose creates, even on a rainy night in Auckland cit.y I came here one evening after work and enjoyed a cocktail class hosted by the team at The Glass Goose and had an amazing time. We learnt how to make (and taste) two great cocktails both of which I would order again as they were super tasty. <br/><br/>The beekeepers blossom is a really refreshing and delicious cocktail, don't let the egg white put you off it - it's so good. Fresh pickings was the second one and this was really fresh and packed a good punch of flavour. Personally my favourite was the Beekeepers blossom.<br/><br/>We also got to try a few items from their bar menu, I highly recommend trying the Lamb cutlet and Pork Belly.<br/><br/>The Glass Gosoe is a perfect date night spot, great for afterwork drinks and would actually be great for a birthday dinner or get together. I imagine come summer it will be the place to be in the afternoon sun!
Myfoxycorner
We came here for a #Cocktailclub but i had a brief meeting before hand. Spoiler alert, this is my new favourite city bar to meet for a post-work wine and snack.<br/><br/>The settings are stunning, both intimate and yet not at all crowded, modern and yet timeless in its warm, urban feel. The outdoor courtyard is the perfect place to while away a sunny afternoon, whilst inside the small booths are perfect for a cozy wine. I was already sold before spending a cent.<br/><br/>I had a gorgeous glass of rose as well as the eggplant fries which were spectacular, coated in a tasy dukkah and cooked to perfection, served with a pistachio mayo. Delish.<br/><br/>The service throughout the entire night was impeccable, attentive to the right amount and every single person I dealt with was friendly and professional.<br/><br/>The cocktail class was the cherry on top, overall I loved everything about this new little venue and I see myself spending a lot of time here. <br/>My one and only wish is that there were more vegetarian options on the menu, as everything looks incredible and apparently tasted divine, so a few extra choices for those not so meat inclined would be awesome (I'm thinking portabello sliders, smokey cheese croquettes, fries/potato skins that aren't cooked in duck fat etc). <br/><br/>Having said that I'm gonna make this my new hangout spot nonetheless. This is the perfect date spot, great place for work drinks or in our case a quick business meeting. Very happy indeed.

One rather drizzly evening, Brunch Club was kind enough to organize an event in collaboration with Zomato and The Glass Goose for a Cocktail lesson with various other Auckland bloggers. Described as an open rooftop bar drawing influence in its architectural design and layout from a glass house, this worked wonders in providing us with beautiful views of the city with its clear roofs and plenty of windows whilst keeping us dry. I can only imagine how buzzing it would be in the summer! Be warned, it really is hidden (it’s down the alleyway next to Gloria Jeans).<br/><br/>The space was a fantastic balance between casual yet classy- perfect for those wanting something a little more special than your average bar, yet more toned down than a fine dining restaurant. Our group whipped up Fresh Pickings- Cachaca rum, fresh strawberries, limes, cucumber ($14.00). The end result was definitely fresh, fruity, delicate and light. Perfecto! Go away artificial tasting, overly sweet cocktails you find at your usual joints, this was the epitome of art. <br/><br/>There was a good amount of food to share among us hungry people so the serving sizes of their small plates are nicely substantial. My favourite by far was the Eggplant chips with pistachio dip ($14.00). Encrusted with a crispy dukkah-like coating and fried so the eggplants inside were soft and moreish inside, they were so, so delicious. The Glass Goose has by far exceeded expectations and has proved themselves worth the hype. I’m still gushing over this place and am desperately looking into my calendar for any excuse of an event to drag my friends in for another amazing night.<br/>For the full review and more photos, please visit my blog:

A positive and relaxed overall dining experience - bubbly waitress, food didn't take too long and was fairly good when it came out. <br/><br/>Had a bloody mary that was much too spicy but the waitress was happy to take it back and get it made again so all was fine. Duck fat potato skins were good but needed more salt and the mayonnaise was a little too sweet and not piquant enough. <br/><br/>Lamb cutlet was delicious and my favourite part of the meal. Nothing really jumped out at us from on the menu but the options were definitely very tasty-sounding. Had a tomato and buffalo mozzarella "medium" sized dish which was more a large sized entree. Tomatoes were sweet and juicy, salad a little underseasoned and could have done with more mozzarella but still delicious.<br/><br/>Overall, this place would be exceptional if it was in the suburbs somewhere but it sits alongside Masu, Federal St Deli & Depot so the competition is very stiff and sets the bar high. Expected something a little more exciting from the new kid on the best restaurant block in Auckland.

Went here for a cocktail class with other bloggers. We had two cocktail options to make: beekeepers blossom and fresh pickings. I watched the other group make beekeepers blossom which has egg white in it. It looked really interesting and I heard it was good. <br/>I got to make fresh picking which has strawberries, lime, cucumber and rum. It was really nice and the whole experience was great.<br/><br/>The bartender was really funny and interesting and made sure we were able to follow his instructions. He made it easy to understand. <br/><br/>We also got to taste a few starters like the sliders, potato cod croquette, pork belly and pancetta, white anchovy, lamb cutlet, potato skins. The food I've tried were really good. I liked the slider and potato croquette the most. <br/><br/>I'll definitely come back for a sit down meal but this place is also great to have a couple of drinks. The decor is nice, the heaters are blasting and kept us all warm and the service was excellent. @jSheena

Love this spot, great vibe and layout, love the menu. Love it's tucked away too, it's a hidden treasure!<br/><br/>The crumbed pork belly bites are a must! As are the lame cutlet bites - divine!

Good food here, lovely staff, and nice decor. Somehow it fails to excite me though. Maybe it's because it's primarily a bar with a smaller restaurant at the back, maybe it was the sound system and acoustics that made it feel a bit like a barn. Somehow it lacks atmosphere, and although the food was good it wasn't exceptional.

The new place to be in Auckland city! Went last night and really enjoyed it. The food was enjoyable and the staff were brilliant. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing, fun and entertaining. The restaurant was quite busy but we didn't feel like we were left waiting. We had cocktails to start. Mine was great but the other wasn't so enjoyable. The waitress offered to get us another immediately although we declined, I appreciated the offer. Enjoyed the meal and will definitely visit again.

I was very excited to come to The Glass Goose, especially hearing that it was on a rooftop and while it had its downsides it is definitely a place I'll be coming back to!! <br/><br/>The major negative flaw is that fact that it is quite hidden and very hard to find (it took me and my sister 20 minutes of walking around before we stumbled upon it) that and the fact that the music was quite loud meant it was hard to hear our waitress and each other without yelling <br/><br/>Apart from those things everything else was pretty much perfect!! We had an amazing waitress who we liked instantly, and the interior was amazing!! When it came to ordering I got the lamb blackstrap while my sister got the pork loin and we got a bowl of duck fat potatoes to share and boy were they amazing!!! Our food took about 25-30 minutes to come out which I think is pretty standard on a busy Friday evening and when it did come out we were so happy!! Both our meats were cooked perfectly! Not only that, they were good sized portions which is always a good thing!! I preferred my lamb over my sisters pork but that's just encase I felt her plate was a little to sweet. We finished our night off by sharing a dessert, they had run out of the creme brûlée which we were gutted about so we ended up getting the salted caramel whoopie pie, the salt caramel was on point!! The cake itself was a little dry but when you had it with the vanilla bean ice cream it made up for it! <br/><br/>Overall we had a rest experience and we are definitely going back!!!

So I got pretty excited when there's a rooftop bar and restaurant that just opened up in midtown. Perfect location, right by the sky tower. Just one little flaw, it took forever to actually find the place. We got the address off the website and went to 62 Victoria street west. But when we got there, we couldn't see the restaurant sign. We went into the building that had 62 Vic street on it and thought we had to catch the lift up a level. That lift didn't work as it needed a swipe card. So we went out and through coffee club onto the back of the shops. And then found the entrance to the glass goose. Haha. Took awhile but we got there. I guess the easiest way is through federal street, next to the Vietnamese Bahn mi store.<br/><br/>I actually really like the set up of the place. Very spacious, lots of room at the outdoor seating area. Good lighting and music wasn't too loud like certain bars. The vibe was good. We went on a Thursday night so it wasn't too busy. <br/><br/>There were quite a few options for drinks and food was very different too. A friend ordered the duck noodles and the flavour was a near 10. There were oysters on the menu, and you can choose from medium or large plates, and add some sides/ entrees to get a bit of variety. Overall there's something for everyone and it's definitely a place to have a good time and good food.

I was very excited to try Auckland's new rooftop bar & restaurant last night, a glamorous, hip & fun eatery located right next to the Sky Tower. Even on a rainy night, our lovely waitress was extremely friendly and enthusiastic, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was warm & cozy.<br/><br/>We started with 2 entrees. I chose crumbed pork belly & pancetta, which was actually the first pork belly dish I've genuinely enjoyed. It had a great taste & texture to it; I loved the crispy outer layer, the soft & tender meat inside and especially the sauce!<br/><br/>My friend had a Bloody Mary oyster shot which he said was sour and tasted like lemon. (Surprising, because I guessed it would taste like tomato.) I thought it was an interesting concept; next time if I'm feeling adventurous I might just get an oyster shot myself. <br/><br/>I absolutely loved my main. My haloumi, roast pumpkin, fennel and grapes blended together so well! Absolutely loved everything about this dish. The haloumi was fresh and delicious, the roast pumpkin was creamy and tasty, and the grapes, a mix of green and red, added a refreshing and balancing taste to the whole dish. Would highly recommend this satisfying main.<br/><br/>My friend ordered roasted duck breast, ginger and bok choy. While spicy, he really enjoyed it, though I personally didn't like the spicy taste (nor duck) very much.<br/><br/>We accompanied our food with Pinot Noir and a Cinnamon Snap cocktail. The Pinot Noir was very smooth and my Cinnamon Snap cocktail was enjoyable but a bit light, tasting like soda, even though it is actually supposed to have vodka, vanilla vodka, and chambord raspberry liqueur WITH cinnamon, grapefruit and soda. For some reason, it just tasted very watered down to me from the beginning - though the cinnamon taste was nice and refreshing. I would've wanted to taste the liqueurs a bit better. <br/><br/>Overall, an amazing first experience at The Glass Goose. I would love to return to have drinks at the rooftop bar instead of the dinner at the restaurant next time - it is beautiful! And once again, our waitress, a blonde woman, made our evening even better with her bright smile and positive, bubbly attitude. Great customer service and fantastic quality of food. <br/><br/>Update 26/07/2015:<br/>Took my friend to Glass Goose tonight as I enjoyed my experience last time. Our experience this time was completely different; customer service was appalling and unattentive. We weren't greeted by anyone and so seated ourselves, which I informed a waitress cleaning a table. She said "Okay" but never came back to welcome us or give us menus, so after waiting 5-10 minutes we got up and asked for menus. <br/><br/>Thankfully, dinner was good, despite the long waiting time. My friend ordered my recommendations from last visit, the pork belly entree and haloumi main, while I ordered the fresh & healthy tomato salad. We accompanied these with Basil Grande & Leaf Cutter cocktails.<br/><br/>After dinner we moved to the bar area and seated ourselves again, waiting for cocktail menus. A waitress walked past and made eye contact with me, but looked very surprised when I stopped her politely, asking for a cocktail menu - I would've thought she would've noticed herself that my friend and I were sitting at an empty table. After ordering, we watched as the three bartenders looked lost, talked to each other, pointing back and forth. After about 15 minutes, nobody had started making our cocktails - one bartender was grabbing a beer for a customer and the other 2 stood at the till. <br/><br/>Finally we decided to pay for our dinner without the cocktails we'd ordered from the bar, and they couldn't work out which table we were. They tried about 3 different table numbers before they called over the waitress who had served us for dinner. On a positive note, this waitress was the same bubbly and cheerful waitress who served me last time. Her name is Bree. I'm happy to say I love her customer service. However, out of the six different staff we saw/interacted with tonight, she is the only one who contributed to making our experience at The Glass Goose enjoyable. Nonetheless, I won't be returning again.<br/><br/>1<br/><br/>Crumbed pork belly & pancetta $3.50<br/>Bloody Mary oyster shot $4.50<br/>Haloumi, roast pumpkin, fennel, grapes $15<br/>Roasted duck breast, ginger, bok choy $34<br/>Neudorf Nelson 2011 Pinot Noir $18<br/>GG Cinnamon Snap $18<br/><br/>2<br/><br/>Basil Grande cocktail $18<br/>Leaf Cutter cocktail $16<br/>Tomato Salad w/ buffalo mozzarella & green olives $12

So nice to find somewhere like this in Auckland!<br/>The outdoor layout is really nice, and the ambiance of the whole place is lovely<br/>The service was great and for the most part the food was delicious.<br/><br/>Definitely order the little pork belly as a starter and for a main dish the Kingfish was delicious - with very Thai-like flavours.<br/><br/>Was a little disappointed by the pork brisket bun, and my cocktail was nice, but the glass was only half full. <br/><br/>Overall really nice though, I'd go back :)

Tucked away in an alley off federal street, the owners of Freeman and Grey do a great job of a rooftop bar with a relaxed feel that's chilled in winter but will be chocka on a long lazy summer's day. The staff were attentive and helpful, the food was bursting with flavour in every dish and the place has a lovely ambience, with unique view directly under the skytower. A must return.. Standout dishes were the pulled pork and panchetta bite as well as the crumbed kingfish.
