I watched the women’s World Cup final here (August 2023), and it was a good ambiance. On another day, with a rugby match on, the place was packed.
Seems like a good spot for watching sports and enjoying a pint. Parking is good thanks to the supermarket parking lot next door.

The place is at its peak for aesthetics. Superb interiors and Excellent seating design as well as ambience design. The place gave a positive vibe. The staff is very well behaved and experienced and polite. The food is delicious.
All in all a wonderful place. Highly recommended 👍
I will go again for my next party.

This is no doubt a locals spot. But they really do have good fish and Chips and lamb. Just wanted something simple and good and man did this place hit the spot. Our waitress was very nice and out food came out fast. Good atmosphere and amazing food. Highly recommended!!!!

A group of us from the U.S. stopped here before the women's world cup game. Nice Irish pub with authentic interior. There was a large crowd and the staff was swamped, so it's difficult to properly rate the place. But it was full of football/soccer fans making it a fun environment. Would definitely return.

Hallelujah!! ☘️An incredible pint of Guinness in Auckland 🥹 by far the smoothest, tastiest pint I’ve had since I landed from London 🍺 This is a lovely, friendly Irish pub with people who can really pour! Great menu, two floors, two bars, two fireplaces, an outdoor deck and a pool table!! The seating is designed more for eating than lounging so I’ll have to come back for beef and Guinness pie 🥧 Couldn’t be happier to have found a proper pub!

Always been a good place to watch the game, food is awesome, personally recommend either of the pies and a Guinness or two. Food is even better on hand nights with the lamb casserole.
Staff are always friendly, good for a yarn as well especially if you're riding solo.

Found The Clare Inn on the off-chance to watch a Rugby World Cup match (Ireland vs Scotland). What a find! Great atmosphere, amazing breakfast wraps and awesome staff. Guiness obviously good... but they made a mean cuppa too! Will be back!

It’s a great place to eat a pie and drink enough beers to say things you shouldn’t in front of friends.
Also this is a place for dads. I once ate here with my friend and his dad showed up and wouldn’t sit with us. He sat on the other side of the room and acted like his son (my mate) wasn’t even there.
He did say hello and goodbye but it was super weird. I ate my whole meal but couldn’t stop thinking about what my mate’s childhood was like.

The staff are friendly, the food good pub fare and drinks reasonably priced. Decor is a bit tired and the toilets needed a clean.

I've been here for a couple of functions for which they have a good room/space for. The food is good but can depend on the dish you order - the steak is average but expected being served with fries and salad on the side like most pubs do, but I also had the chicken served with fondant potatoes recently and that was absolutely delicious!

The best pub food in Auckland. Never disappointed with any of the choices. Always wins awards for lamb and beef. Went again this wet weekend and had the beef Wellington and partner had the pasta. Large serving, pasta was the best she has had. Not bad for an Irish pub. Service is great, lots of Irish voices at the tables, and no tacky Irish decorations like the franchise pubs.

A really enjoyable place that I've gone to with friends many times over the years.
The food is fine: nothing stellar, and the menu seems to have contracted over the last couple of years. But it's fine for an evening when the point is just to relax and chat over a glass or two. The wine list is nice and the bar's nicely stocked.
The real pleasure of this place is the friendly, bustling, ambience. It always seems pleasant busy without being overly noisy, at least when I've been there (different live music on different nights).
Service has always been a delight: staff are friendly, know what's going on and do whatever they can to oblige.

Came her Friday after work for few drinks & dinner. Got light menu, lamb pie & mash potatoes for $17.50. Good value for $$, couldn't finish it! Great, friendly warm staff, and the live music from Gerry was great. I'd go back :)

I stumbled across this pub while exploring the neighborhood in 2019. Atmosphere looked great so I grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered a Guinness. A group was seated at large table and played various instruments and sang random songs. It was a fantastic experience.
