Genta has always been my favorite sake bar to visit for the last few years.
Staff changed quite a bit, menu is changed lately, but the food quality remains the same, or even better.
Initially tried the place with former colleagues, soon to become very loyal.
Only thing has to mention that the service quality had dropped a bit, as the staffs don’t seek to know their menu and intend to forget orders... so keep reminding them lol

I highly rate this japanese place. Staff are friendly and polite. The food was great and the price is very reasonable.
I had the Bento box, seared tuna and 3 pieces of karage chicken for $3! All the food was fresh.
I would definitely come back here again.

Absolutely delicious, I definitely can guarantee this Beef Tataki is the best taste I have tried so far in whole Auckland. Ramen broth just so sweet and light, I drank it more than eating other parts 😂😂😂. And $9 desert green tea ice cream is just so good and better than any other green tea ic from other stores.

Friendly, helpful service, great atmosphere and a wide range of authentic, reasonably priced Japanese food. Since visiting Tokyo this has been the closest to my experience!

As you walk in, you inmediately find yourself engrossed in japanese culture. A bustling atmosphere, which brings japan to you. Often quite full, a wait nothing longer than 5 minutes. Food variety is huge. One low point is the time you wait for food. Wish that more staff are available. Staff genuinely want to be there, Drink selection is huge, with sake and beer and wines. As food arrives, you inmediately want to dig in. Food is extremely authentic, portion size is huge. Food definitely worth it. High tech computer system ensures you pay correctly, and they check with you to ensure that order is correct. Sweets available at checkout.

The sound they made with the drums scared me a little bit at times haha but overall great place. Would definitely come again to drink more sparkling sake.

Automatically when you get there, your greeted by huge gong and a warm welcome. It was extremely lively when I arrived but the service was timely and welcoming. The food itself was really good and piping hot, defs would recommend for a night out 👍🏾 (bonus it’s super close the train station and the main road)

So so yum. One of the best Japanese place I have found in Auckland. Not to expensive. And is great that you can buy a load of stuff and share it between the table so you can have a little bit of everything. Very clean and easy access from the city. Paid parking not far away if needed to. I would 100% would recommend coming here. Would probably be best to make a booking in case as it can get a bit busy sometimes.

I always enjoy popping into Genta for a cold glass of Orion and a snack, staff are always friendly and welcoming.
