Review Hello - Auckland Central

I have really good experience with this place. Man helping with working holiday visa is really patient and nice. Me did everything really fast. Thank you for your time!

Had a pleasant experience visiting this branch. Maybe I was lucky that there were only a handful of customers at the time of my visit, but my issue was resolved in less than 10 minutes. Thanks to Khusbhu for a great service 👍 Due to a low rating of this bruch, I initially went to another branch, but it was closed, so I had to come visit here and was pleasantly surprised.

The two men are very friendly, smiling and always willing to help customers

The staff in Kiwibank are professional and friendly. i had a very good service from Corey, would like to give a 5 stars.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to kiwibank. I was greeted delightfully by the security man and staff. Corey was especially helpful in quickly providing me with the statements I needed. I didn't ask the most simple enquiries but it seemed like he had all the answers.

July was super nice to us and efficient in her work. I don’t really get why there is much hate for the people, when there are just way too much backpacker arriving in Auckland right now, who want to open up a bank account. You got this guys good luck :)

Cute place for work lunch in Snickel Lane. Ordered two pastas, nothing terribly exciting but good portion size and price. Friendly staff.

Went to Imperial Lane in Fort Lane and it seems it has become a new home for Hello2 (extension of Hello Restaurant on the opposite side in Snickles Lane).

They have great coffee, and a range of sweet/savoury items that look quick and easy to eat.

I ordered the bacon and cheese bap and it is served warm and great for a quick lunch. The tables are set up on the side and are cute and cosy.

Service is very friendly and welcoming! I will be back to try out their delicious looking cabinet food.

Great little place, reasonably priced, great service, we had meat lovers pizza, avocado carbonara and chicken salad with a side of fries, all yummy

A budget price, but great taste and portion, the ambience was awesome on the weekend with the live band outside. Lot of cool pastas and more vegetarian options than I have seen in most Italian restaurants.

Ordered the chicken sandwich with fries and honestly the fries were so good, they were to die for! The burger was also well cooked and the aioli flavours hit the right spot. I loved the way the burger was presented and the ambience was very nice. Price was very reasonable especially in the CBD. ($14)

This place was def Hell not Hello :( team lunch here today, friendly staff, service was ok but food was CRAP! Maccas actually has better meal deals for less than $20 than what Hello had to serve. 5 of us in the team ordered a variety of dishes. The lasagne with some watery cheese gravy thing tasted so bland we had to add a bit of salt/pepper & a bit of the pesto sauce to give it a bit of taste. I ordered steak, medium, it arrived like a looking like a little block of wood on a white plate and a little dish of supposedly pesto sauce which was full of oil, no season and the steak was still RAW. I sent it back thinking I will get another steak. 10min later the same steak returned, overcooked. Looked like the chef or someone had torched the steak with a gas lighter or some flame. I was over my lunch already!! I told my girls my father was a butcher so I know what a sirloin steak taste like - not chewy. My other colleagues had meatballs n calamari, she enjoyed her calamari but meatballs coated with a canned tomato puree or something was bland. Chicken risotto was oily - we all got to taste each others food, had to ask for chilli sauce to give our meals a bit of taste. One of my girls changed her mind and ordered calamari - the waitress forgot to put her order thru, so she made up for her error and gave my colleague a free coke. It's amazing that this place is still open with the quality of food they serve. Totally regret not going to Maccas, we would've got value for money - this place gets a 1 point rating only for the setting. I will not recommend this place at all! Next!!!

Had the Gnocchi pasta and Mushroom risotto. Both were really good. Not too busy at all on a Friday night so the atmosphere was quite nice and peaceful.

Love this restaurant for its ambiance and service. I have been enjoying it since it was at the top of Vulcan Lane. My only criticism - is some of the dishes are a little heavy on the salt. Love the salads and pizzas are great .....

We were only in Auckland overnight, found this place for dinner and it was so good we came back for breakfast the next day. The food is great, the service impeccable

Great little restaurant in Snickel Lane. Simple but delicious menu and very reasonably priced. We visited for lunch and everything was $12.99. Unheard of in central Auckland! I had the gnocchi which was divine. Portion was a tad on the small side but what do you expect for the price! I was more than happy (and probably shouldn’t be eating a bigger serve anyway). Service was fantastic and there was a great buzz with many happy diners chatting away. Will definitely be back for lunch and hopefully dinner too!

Inviting and buzzing atmosphere. We ordered two lunch specials, smoked salmon salad and the steak sandwich.

Salmon was fresh and fries were crispy hot. Unfortunately, the dryness of the steak sandwich was not salvaged by the layer of cheese and the steak looked like it had been tenderised by the Hulk, sooo thin! The salad had minuscule amounts of other ingredients, the picture absolutely did it justice.

Service - most of the team were new, had no idea about the menu/anything and probably needed more training. We noticed the manager telling off staff several times which was not nice. Our table was also right by the door so we had an unpleasant smell of body odour as the waiter zipped in and out. Deodorant!
Wandering through the city and stumbled on this, and lunch specials for $12.99 . . Of course we are here!

After recommendations from our waitress we picked the steak sandwich and fries with the avocado pasta.
Both dishes were delicious, the avocado pasta didn’t seem to have much of an avocado flavour but it was still deliciously creamy.
Steak sandwich was good, although a little on the drier side. Maybe a little more pesto or another sauce, I ended up loading some tomato sauce to help and that was good.

The fries here are really good! Perfectly crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside â˜ș
Definitely recommend and will be back for more!

I’ve been here for lunch and dinner. Perfect for a simple, easy, no fuss meal and great value for money. Their pasta dishes are very tasty with great portion sizes (especially if you have no self control). The staff are polite, knowledgeable about their dishes and happy to provide a recommendation upon request. Looking forward to my next visit

Came here for lunch and had the avocado carbonara. Couldn't taste much avocado but still was delicious, portion size was good too. Great atmosphere and the location was cute!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. We came here for a quiet weekday dinner and was very happy we chose this place. The fish was very delicious with a creamy sauce. It was well seasoned. the ribs was soft and succulent! It's super great value for 19.90 per main.will come back again to try their lunch menu.

Had dinner at this place. Hello Restaurant has good customer service and deco. However, the food were average and portion is small for the price.

Customer Service: 8/10

Food: 5/10

Atmosphere: 8/10

Date: November 2018

When my favourite cafe, Imperial Lane, changed owners and could no longer make a decent Long Black, I tried Hello which is just across Fort Lane. What an outstanding discovery.

Best coffee/value ratio of any cafe I can think of in the Auckland CBD. A fantastic Long Black costs just $3.00. And it's served with a complimentary carafe of sparkling water - the perfect way to cleanse the palate after a coffee.

I can usually grab my preferred spot in the corner, sitting on the comfy padded banquette. In the morning before going to the office, I usually have the place all to myself.

Plus, the owner is a really awesome guy. I've eaten at Hello too and can recommend the Eggs Benedict.

Stumbled upon this resto whilst walking in the city. He place is cool and a good spot for ‘gramming too! They’ve got this $12.90 lunch menu which my cousin and I tried their chicken lasagne and steak sandwich with fries. Both were good but won’t order the sandwich again (a bit dry). I loved their fries though - small sized & crispy. Overall, an insta-worthy place but would try other resto next time.

Cute diner out of the way on Snickel Lane. Such a shame its so hidden because the space is relaxed and hip and a nice place to take time eating.

Menu is a little different to the one on Zomato now, everything on the dinner menu (salads, pizzas, mains) is now $19.90. Such a good deal! I had the fish of the day which was snapper and it was well cooked and came with some mushrooms and courgette and some hollandaise like sauce. A little basic but pretty yum and you really can't go wrong with fresh snapper. Had fries to share and they were golden and crunchy.

Service was polite and friendly

I love love love their avocado carbonara and can’t wait to go back and try again. The portion looked small but it was actually quite big... maybe because of their big plates. It was really filling. My friends also tried the risotto and other gnocci and they all loved their meal.

Rate it a 3.5/5.
Ordered a Spinach and mushroom gnocchi and was pretty satisfied. It was a decent serving and was lathered in a generous amount of deliciously creamy sauce.

Flavours and texture of the gnocchi was good and you could see some mushrooms and spinach. At $26 it's OK.

The dining space is very relaxed and open.

Great place to visit for lunch if you work in the CBD. Decent value for money and the whole ambience of the restaurant is great. Staff are friendly, no long wait to be served. Decor is also on point! Good food and great coffee too!

Popped into Hello on a quiet Sunday afternoon and was very impressed. The staff were friendly and the food came out promptly. They had an awesome $12.99 lunch deal, the Spinach and mushroom gnocchi is standout.

This place is in a lovely spot for brunch. I went in and got the $12.99 special. I went in and asked what was recommended and the staff said to get the avocado carbonara, so I did. I paid by eftpos and she charged me $13 which I thought was a bit cheeky. The food took a while to come and I don't think it should be called avocado carbonara, as there were teeny tiny specs of avocado placed throughout and I couldn't taste them at all. The dish was nice enough. Staff were friendly.

I have been a couple times now, and have yet to be dissatisfied.

I love Italian food, but it is always so expensive, especially if you want quality. Hello provide amazing quality pizza and pasta, at an affordable price. Their lunch special at 12.99 and dinner at 19.99 is great for those of us who love great food who are also on a budget.

Had the chicken Alfredo lasagne and the mushroom and spinach gnocchi. The lasagne was rather greasy but quite flavorful and the chicken wasn’t too tough. The gnocchi tasted good, but the portions was quite little for a $26 dish

Ordered Spaghetti Seafood. First mussel goes off , try the other one , same . Chef said that i dont know how the fresh mussel taste . My friend vegetarian dish is just purely plain ... We can cook it better . Wont recommend to anyone unless you agree to pay 29 for rotten mussels

Went for the $12.99 lunch meal - definitely felt like they were trying to cut costs to meet that price, pizza had more of a pita bread base, and even the drinks that were full price were weak. But the meals were pretty good for the price. Asked to cancel our fries half way through our meal, because they were running late. Was told that it was only a 5 minute wait (was not 5 minutes) and this happens at any restaurant by the owner instead of trying to understand why we wouldn’t want fries half way through our meal, ended up paying for fries we didn’t touch.

The gnocchi was perfectly cooked, and the place was very cute - could potentially be a great place at dinner time when they know you’ll be spending more money.

Props to the all female wait staff who was trying their best and was lovely when we explained our issues with the meal, the older gentleman owner who seemed to be running the place seemed angry at life, and didn’t seem very nice to his staff.

Stumbled on to this place one night while we were wandering about the city. Their menu looked promising! I had the chorizo arancini and my husband had the burger
The arancini was spicy as promised and a treat to eat! Kudos to the chef and his skill for making such a large arancini!
The burger got the thumbs-up from the man too. Beer battered fries on the side- yum!
The ambience of the place, and Snickel lane, was good too. Quite like the little laneway they got going there!
$70 for two (with drinks- a beer and a juice)

Great service and great food. Had breakfast of omelette and a mochaccino. The waitress/barista was very knowledgeable and friendly. Made great coffee. Will come back to try their lunch and dinner menu.

I would not recommend coming here for breakfast. Perhaps the lunch/dinner service is better but after our initial experience I don't have the desire to find out. The waitress was friendly but service incredibly slow even though there was hardly anyone dining. When the food did finally come out the meals were brought out at different times, my friend was halfway through his before our other two meals arrived. Hopefully they improve their service, as the location of the place in Snickles Lane is a really nice spot for brunch.

Don't really like writing bad reviews, as I generally only write about my positive experiences but breakfast here was bad and they need to know. To begin, there was a 50 minute wait for our 3 simple breakfasts [eggs on toast], there were 12 customers there. My poached eggs were mangled and dripping with water. My friends scrambled eggs and greens were terribly over-seasoned and un-eatable and lastly the portion sizes were tiny as well. I honestly question whether or not they were cooked by a chef, cause the guy there didn't look like he knew what was going on. Have passed through Snickel Lane and seen good looking dishes by them for lunch - so will come back again and re-rate, hopefully it improves dramatically because it could be a cool location...
