Tasca Dominion Road branch šŸ‡ŖšŸ‡ø Cozy environment with good foods quality and friendly service. I like the courtyard (garden) area. šŸ‘šŸ»

Quaint little cafe with wholesome Spanish tapas and desserts, Loved the experience šŸ‘Œ

We travelled from out of town to eat at Tasca. It is such a nice place! The decor is fun, and they have an impressive garden bar area as well! We had brunch food including the delicious sangria. The menu was very tempting and I wasnā€™t sure what to have but the people we were with recommended the moorish eggs and they were excellent! The churros I couldnā€™t resist nor the chili hot chocolate.

The entrance is very unassuming but out back is one of the coolest outdoor areas in Auckland. Booked a 30th here for 40 people. The staff were amazing and so accommodating and patient with our plans for the celebration. We went earlier in the week to try the food and it was amazing. Such good flavours and a great atmosphere. We will be returning there many times for sure. All of our guests said they wanted to plan some event just to make use of the space we had that day. Very grateful to the staff for their support and help for that party we threw šŸ™‚šŸ™

We had a staff do here and the service was amazing. The food and drinks were on point, and the space is wonderful. You walk in the front door not expecting to see a big outdoor space at the back. I recommend if you love cocktails, they make the best, and their spanish food is delish šŸ‘Œ

Amazing Spanish food and great services! The backyard is my favorite part! Itā€™s like a secret garden hiding in the chaos city~ Thanks for the wonderful time with friends!

Tasca is a nice place for gatherings and chit chats. It has plenty of seats at the backyard with long tables for big group of people. Great on a fine weather. Ordered a $27 lunch vegetarian paella as a main. It is a disappointment with regards to the recipe. Although the rice is nice and fluffy, the vegetables lack proteins. I am expecting more green peas to fill me up. The dish does not reflect the price. Ordered a $9 cheesecake as dessert. Itā€™s pricey, but really good. The cream cheese is not greasy and has a lite and gentle mouthfeel. I am not a fan of cream, so I didnā€™t finish the cream, itā€™s perfectly fine to eat without the cream. I thoroughly enjoy every bites. High recommended to come for drinks and dessert, but the mains need improvement.

Lunch out with my 11 year old. What started out looking like a little cafe led to a big olive garden with outdoors seating and blankets and heaters provided to keep us warm. Place was pretty busy but service was fast and friendly. Food was good and attention from our waiter was great too. Kids menu was to my daughters liking. We also went through the cabinet inside the cafe for done takeaway desserts that we came home with. Overall a very nice experience. I must go and try their dinner menu.

Everything about this place is too good. From the food and drinks to the atmosphere. One of our favorite places to dine at. Hot Toddy was my favourite šŸ‘šŸ»

The cheesecake is absolutely delicious (as is the rest of the food). Service was a little slow but not terribly, and they did have a large event at the back which no doubt slowed things down. Definitely worth a visit.

Great food. So satisfied. Lunch Paella with squid and sausage (canā€™t remember the Spanish name)

Yasss tasca fav place the servers are all really cool good vibes in there fr

Very high quality meal. Must try is their paella but their Albondigas and Spanish cheesecake really surprised me, so freakin good. Itā€™s the best cheesecake I had in New Zealand.

This place is one of the busiest one on dominion road but they always have place for people who randomly walks in like me. I had great time with my friends here and staff looked after us very sweetly. We got the best service and each one of them were very friendly. However, food was bit expensive but Iā€™ll still stick to it as itā€™s totally worth it. Definitely good drinks and food. Keep the good work up guys šŸ‘šŸ»

Great place. Never been here before but was pleasantly impressed. Beautiful garden out the back. Great food. Will definitely be back.

Lovely spanish cafe with cute interior. The owner cannot speak so well English but he is very sweet and friendly. We only had coffee here and tasted their small dessert - both were really delicious!! Plus points because they have almond and soy milk! We will definitely come back for tapas next time!

Can't say much because I haven't tried real Spanish cuisine, but still the food was good imo. Just the paella was a bit bland to my liking.. Great service and awesome atmosphere!
Adrian Mathias
Amazing Espanol food.. really loved the choice of cocktails and tapas. Delizio Abondigas, chargrilled walnut chicken, Sticky Beef cheek though was better than the chicken Algarve but flavours were on spot.. portions for mains are huge lol, didn't expect that. The El Mariachi and martini of Seville were really well balanced and had a nice kick too.. always love a good kick.. the place was so good we ended up getting the lahmajun and coco maria pizzas think a day later from the dominion place. Dominion was cute but the new market place was spanish flash.. loved the deco and enjoyed the experience. Oh and service at the new market was first class.. thanks guys be back for more tapas and drinks šŸ˜

The paella was pretty bland, plain and underseasoned. flavourless dish on the whole. On the contrary, the pizza was delicious ,enjoyed it to bits! For the dish paella they serve here, it is very much over priced. Would've been really great if the paella had the seafood flavor enhanced with apt seasonings, which would have made the dish much better.

You'd never know it looking in from the main road but Tasca boasts an amazing backyard alfresco dining experience complete with a bar and patio blinds to keep you dry in wet conditions. The waiters can seem a bit oblivious - apart from one girl who was on the ball. The food is just as gorgeous as it is delicious. The braised lamb shoulder was beautifully cooked as well as the margherita pizza which had a fine woodfired crust. Tasca can easily provide a getaway for the introvert or a venue for the social butterfly. Dining here in the summer is when this place really shines. 4ā˜†

Tasca has an impressive outdoor area which is set up like a garden. So if you sit outside you may have small flowers drop down onto the table or your head! They also provide blankets if you're cold and have outdoor heating so it's not too chilly even at night. There's a big table which is perfect for big group bookings.<br/><br/>The service was great and our waitress was super helpful explaining the menu and the portion sizes for the tapas. If you do get a chance to check out Tasca the seafood paella is a must try! It's a creamy and hearty dish with a touch of spiciness.<br/><br/>I will definitely recommend Tasca Mt Eden to my friends. Thanks for the great night and service!
Evka
The place is very pleasant, ok service and the food is not bad. However I was quite disappointed as I was expecting spanish food and tapas. Unfortunately the taste and food is not even close to Spanish meals and flavors.
Jason Lear
We enjoyed a Wednesday dinner at Tasca in Mr Eden on a very wet and windy night. We discovered the wonderful seating area at he rear but felt indoors was the best option due to the weather. We enjoyed the lamb signature and flatbread dishes.. The food was tasty and delicious. We will be back to enjoy the delicious food and the outside seating area, perfect for a Summer evening ! The only feedback is ... I'm not sure that the menu on Zomato is the latest?
Alex Michael
This place is rather groovy. I enjoyed the vibe from the staff it was chill and they even had a cool outdoor kitchen/bar. Will be returning here some time soon. highly recommend.<br/>
Ayushi Pillai
Really overpriced pretentious portions of flavourless food. Would not recommend.

Had a group brunch last weekend..nice spot with loads of options for everyone. Liked the food and everyone seemed happy with their food overall .I like the smashed avocado and peas I had but found the eggs cooled really quickly and the whole meal toast was a toasted v hard for me. The staff were super friendly but I did find the drinks and food took a bit long.we did get apologies about the food taking awhile and some olives while we were waiting. Would pop back in again as the food was good and it's close by
Jia Jiet Lim
Very nice environment with acceptable but overpriced food. At here, you pay for the environment more than the food. There is limited economic food choice.
Oriental Doll
Beautiful place to catch up with friends and families. Food was great and well-priced. I would have rated this 5 if not for the mix up of orders that lead to one of my friends eating his food so late, and one of our drinks not being made up despite two follow ups. Good ambience for a small party, will come back.
Jedediah J
Tasca is a great place to grab some brunch with your mates. The food never disappoints and comes out on time. Their outdoor area is great and ideal in summer but not in the rainy auckland winter.
Vegesaur
A great place to go for veggies & vegans, as they have seperate menus with all the food we can eat! I ordered a few small tapas diahes, and they were delicious. Great, friendly service, quick to cook, and yummy cocktails. They have a huge covered garden area out the back too! Go there!
Shaun Ross
Such a cute little treat in the heart of Mt Eden! Was a lovely night of amazing food and taste. Well cooked and service was amazing! Highly recommend!
Andy
Amazing restaurant offering a wide range of European foods for any occasion, sweet & savory, you name it. There are also indoor and outdoor dining options. The food is outstanding, as is the atmosphere the staff create.

Wow......... What can i say. This outlet is truly a hidden gem. From the front is a deceivingly, quant lil cafe which is really nice but walking through the cafe to discover the hidden olive garden out back is such a beautiful outdoor area to enjoy the delicious food this outlet has to offer. You would never think you were on Dominion Rd. <br/>Decent sized menu but not big enough to get overwhelmed with choice. <br/>The food itself was delicious. The picnic platter was big enough to share with the pastrami patā€™e, potatoe and pork bomba being my fav but everything else was as equally as tasty. Pizzas were delicious and well cooked. <br/>The service was really good, the staff werenā€™t intrusive and didnā€™t disturb the table while eating.<br/>Prices are very reasonable and sizes of servings were very fair for quality and quantity. <br/><br/><br/>

Made a call before visit and asked about want to have a paella for lunch, the staff was nice and asked kitchen, they accepted my request. Then I went there lunch time with my friend, we had a lovely seafood paella, love the bubbles as well. Very good experience in Tasca.

Came here for my Dadā€™s birthday and mine, both within a month of each other. Staff were so friendly and helpful, food was incredible and the drinks were great. <br/>(I recommend trying the sangria) <br/>Definitely will be coming back here for more birthdays and events to come.
Jeremy
Went for light meal with my wife. Nice setting in a rustic casual sort of way. Went early on a Friday and chose the front of the restaurant. Staff seemed a bit disinterested and overly quick to get us through our meal. Food looked like it would have been fresh the day before. Deep fried mussels overly fishy and chewy. Flavours bland for a tapas Bar. Maybe just a bad day at the office.

Food: 3.8/5<br/>Service: 4/5<br/>Overall: 3.8/5<br/><br/>My colleagues and I ordered lots of food in our group dinner and I liked the meatballs particularly. The bread and aioli were wonderful. It was a good place to have a drink and nibbles but the food were at the pricey side (and lots of flies around us).
Ari Kim
This place is an absolute hidden gem! From the outside it looks like a small, run down cafe but as you walk through the steps to the back youā€™ll be surprised! We ordered five tapas and a sangria between the three of us. Food was delicious and were decent portions. Service was good. The ambience was amazing, def hope to return before Summer ends. Highly recommend! <br/><br/>
Audacity2Write
Check out this place yesterday and the food was average. My friend said her spaghetti and meatballs was disappointing since for 19 dollars she only got 3 meatballs<br/><br/>The worst part of this dining experience was the flies that kept settling on our food the entire time. We couldn't be left in peace to take a single morsel<br/><br/>Probably will not go back.
Nathalie
We had our work function here and their outdoor area was lovely, very intimate with lots of shade. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. The food however were pretty average (tapas style). Flavours were very subtle, I was expecting more intense flavours, some even lacked seasoning. Overall had an ā€œokā€ experience and I would go back just because I enjoyed the outdoor ambiance (the inside is very small therefore I recommend outdoors).
Rob
Nice friendly establishment. It might appear small when it peer in from outside but they have nice outdoor seating at the back with a bar and kitchen.<br/><br/>A big fan of their sangria.

We had a great time for dinner for my birthday. Nice outdoor & cosy area. Enjoyed the food & menu. The staff and service was excellent & will definitely be back. Highly recommended & the sangaria drink was a hit ā˜ŗļø

Had lunch here in the open outdoor dining space. The outdoor dining area can be covered with umbrellas and tarps if needed but there is enough lush greenery to shade you.<br/><br/>The service is quick and friendly. The meatballs are tender and delicious. I really enjoyed those. The tapas lunch plate was plentiful and the highlight was definitely the meatballs which they were very generous with. The croquette balls were crispy and full of flavour.<br/><br/>There was no sugar on the table for the coffee and I found the hummus a tad oily for my liking. The hot chocolate was probably the worst I've ever had. I wouldn't recommend eating a hot chocolate here. It just tasted like hot foamy milk which was really disappointing for $5. I rate the hot chocolate was 1/2 a star.<br/><br/>Parking is a bit difficult around this busy area. The service is very good.
Mulik.aditya99
Came here with my friend and the experience was great. The staff was super friendly and the ambience was nice. We ordered the Pepperoni pizza along with the Chicken & Spinach Quesadillas and they both were delecious. Will be back here to try other pizzas as well...šŸ˜Š.

Had lunch here with team yesterday, place is awesome with the big outdoor area out the back , friendly staff and food was beautiful 10/10 very happy customer we will definitely be back thanks!!!

This was my second visit here and it was every bit as wonderful as the first time.<br/><br/>The inside decor was felt like you were being transported to Spain, while the courtyard seating environment was very relaxing and beautiful. Although I remember the area being completely open during summer, it is covered and pumped with heaters and blankets during the colder months.<br/><br/>We ordered the Pizza del Pueblo and Open Steak Sandwich. I would have to say the pizza was the best Iā€™ve ever had in my life. I would have never guessed that potato, caramelised onion, feta, rosemary and some greens on top of a perfectly thin, crisp base could make such a heavenly combination. Would highly recommend ordering this bad boy.<br/><br/>The steak sandwich was paired with delicious shoestring fries and aioli. The sandwich itself had a great flavour, especially with the caramelised onion and beetroot relish, however the meat was quite tough and required a lot of strength and energy to cut through.<br/><br/>Still a great experience overall and coming here with a $25 for $40 Groupon voucher was surely an amazing steal.

Came here for dinner with my family. The interior of the restaurant is fantastic with a spacious courtyard so it is perfect for a large group. We ordered spatchcock chicken, spaghetti, their signature dish lamb and the paella and all of them taste lovely! Our server were so friendly and attentive, he explained to us every dishes throughly and been so helpful to accommodate all our needs that night. Overall, good experience dining here and will definitely come back again in future! <br/><br/>Atmosphere: āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø<br/>Service: āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø<br/>Food: āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø

Food and drinks: Sangria, calamari, meatballs, potato balls, fried potatos, and Paella<br/><br/>Environment: given the weather is nice and clear, the olive garden will be a lovely a place to be sitted at.<br/><br/>Services: very friendly<br/><br/>Costs: $40 per person on average including drinks<br/><br/>Will I return: definately<br/><br/>Comment: Lovely and relaxing outdoor sitting enviroment, even better during a nice and bright summer evening. The more people the better as you could order more Tapas and drinks.

Let down!<br/>Food was mediocre for its price.<br/>Overpriced place! There are plenty other places with decent price and much much better food.<br/>Wouldn't recommend.<br/>Very disappointed.
Sunaina Goundar
Decent place with good priced meals. Have been here a couple of times. Food is good, pretty standard presentation but flavoursome. The vintage decor and music transport you to a different place. Good staff. Good service.
Zac
Great place for drinks and dinner! Like sitting in the courtyard under the olive trees and its always nice and warm with all the heaters! Great food and good customer service! Will highly recommend this place!

So impressed with our meal here this evening. Group of 7 of us who all loved the food with special mention of the paella & calamari dishes. Staff efficient & friendly. ...I've already booked my return visit

DON'T COME HERE FOR DINNER UNLESS YOU PLAN ON GETTING SERIOUSLY DRUNK. I've had brunch here a couple of times but decided to try the dinner menu last Friday night and was utterly shocked! The serving sizes are ridiculously small that rather than focusing on the food I was eating, all I could think about was all the other things I could've bought at a different restaurant for the same price, for example their Chilli Prawns Tapas literally came with FOUR PRAWNS and a piece of toasted bread at a whopping cost of $19!! The food was only half of it though, the service was horrible. I had made a booking in advance and when we arrived they fluffed around for 5 minutes trying to find our booking before finally seating us right outside their outdoor kitchen which was uncomfortable from start to finish, first of all there was no heating near our table, secondly we couldn't enjoy our dinner with the sound of whisking, bells ringing and waiters walking back and forth serving others while neglecting us as we were at the rejects table. To top it off, for dessert I ordered the Almond Brownie which after a long wait was bought in from the cafe section of the restaurant by a waitress, I thought it was coming straight to my table but I was SO wrong! The brownie was placed at the kitchen, after 5 minutes of me staring at my brownie which was literally 1 meter away from me it got placed in the MICROWAVE, I should've ran then but decided to see it through. The brownie stayed in the microwave for another 5 minutes before the kitchen staff had to put something else in the microwave and realised the brownie was still in there, FINALLY I got my brownie and basically had to stab it with my fork to get into it when it literally crumbled all over the table because it was so dry and stale after being reheated in the microwave, I took one bite before wanting to burst into tears from frustration. Seriously disappointed with my experience at Tasca and seeing first hand what really goes on behind the scenes in the kitchen.

Did someone say Spanish tapas? Chargrilled peppers, sun-dried tomato flavours and seafood paella strewn with prawns and saffronā€¦ yes puh-lease! Most of us had heard of the one in Newmarket but this oneā€™s a real special variation. Waltz through the seats up front and into their spacious courtyard ā€” olive trees tower overhead, festoon lights are strung up in their branches, an open bar sits at one end with a wood-fired kitchen buzzing away in the other. Lovely summer night vibes for sure. The gang tucked warmly under the heaters and service was amiable and they even had an separate vegetarian menu if you asked for it.<br/>Check out our individual food reviews here: husk.co.nz/lunches/tasca-june-2018

A very compacted restaurant on dominion rd . We tried paella that we thought would excite us, but it didn't. In fact, it disappointed us. It wasn't well cooked, and portion was small too. We certainly would not come back.
Miura Elikana
Tasca is a great BYO however they only accept white & red wines. Friendly service, efficient food delivery. The tapas was delicious, recommend the pimiento chicken and grilled halloumi cheese. Of course, you should def have a glass of sangria or jug to go with your mealšŸ’ÆšŸ‘ŒšŸ¾

Came here for a mates birthday and it was great. Service was good, and the waitress would comeback often to check if we needed anything. Food was full of flavour. We had the roast lamb which just melted off the bone. Also had the paella which was great. I'm not too sure about the prices as it was covered, but as far as the food goes, I recommend coming here.
Ariana
Lovely staff, accommodating and well informed. The atmosphere is great, especially the outdoor courtyard that is functional in both good & bad weather. The food is consistently good every time I dine here. I am never disappointed! Favourites are definitely the Lamujan, Albondigas, Dolma as well as many others. Definitely try the La Rosita cocktail, one of my favourite cocktails in Auckland currently :)

Can't say much because I haven't tried real Spanish cuisine, but still the food was good imo. Just the paella was a bit bland to my liking.. Great service and awesome atmosphere!

Have dined here twice now, both with GrabOne vouchers. Tried to phone to book a table but just got the answer phone so we just turned up, lucky there was one table we were able to squash into. The dining area was packed. Aside from the tapas the mains seemed limited & after deciding on 2 choices, both lamb dishes was told both were unavailable so I settled for the Paella & Tom got the steak. I was reluctant to get Paella, the ones I have had look great with all the shellfish but invariably are bland & disappointing, Tascas was the exception, perfect rice with subtle tasty flavours & a creamy blob of deliciousness that accentuated the morsels of fish & chorizo. Toms scotch & potatoes was good but pretty standard. The best bit was discovering the outdoor area, which was pretty empty, it was raining, but as it was under cover I asked if we could move out there, what a lovely space, would be great for a function. One thing with the GrabOne, you canā€™t BYO with it. <br/><br/>Ok second time round, we managed to get through to book ahead. It was quite late I suppose 8.30 but it was a Friday, we were seated in the lovely outdoor area, but service was really slow, took ages to take our orders & again the lamb & steak was unavailable so I got Paella again, same as before -yum, Tom had the slow cooked lamb, which to his taste wasnā€™t great, Iā€™m not a fan of the slow cooked shank so didnā€™t try it. Service was pretty bad, the chefs were cleaning up as we were waiting to give our order & honestly looked like theyā€™d had it for the night.

Went here for a dinner on a Sunday night. We were seated in the courtyard which was very nice. We ordered off the tapas menu and the food all arrived very fast. It was delicious I highly recommend the haloumi. As well as the homemade lemon and lime drink.
Diogo Reck
Service is very good and kind and the ambience is great if you seat at the backyard.<br/><br/>The paella is a highlight, with the socarrat rice at the bottom, but I'd say I've tried better spanish places i Auckland.<br/><br/>The prawns were a bit overcooked as well as the chorizo. The baklava was good, but the ice cream that came along was terrible, they use a cheap one.<br/><br/>But, still, I'd come back for the paella.
Ming
Absolute shocker. I was served Pimiento Chicken on rice except the rice was sour and had clearly gone off. Where was the quality control? Diners beware.
Sylvester Kuo
It looks like a cafe but thereā€™s another area connected to the kitchen hiding behind the exterior restaurant, where you can see the cooks make your food. The staff are genuine Spanish, which is quite a nice touch if you are after the authenticity. There are many tapas to try, but I really enjoyed the paella, though it was a bit burnt.
Ian Craig
Great courtyard garden, very good service, and excellent food. Being BYO is a big drawcard too as it means you can take along something you want to drink and save on the drinksĀ - corkage does apply but is reasonable. Highly recommend this place.

Great food-and lots of it too! Paella was delicious and very aromatic, but I would recommend the mussels too.Ā <br/><br/>The owner Michelle was very welcoming and great to talk to. Defo will be back

We ordered the vegetarian pizza which surprisingly had a lot of potatoes on it (it was v interesting because I didnā€™t absolutely hate it but I would rather not have any potatoes on my pizza, my friend couldnā€™t stand them at all). The baklava was really good though! And itā€™s a spacious cafe which is literally perfect for any gathering!

Came here on a Saturday at around 5:30pm. Iā€™ll know for next time to make a reservation for their outdoor garden at the back because itā€™s beautiful! Like entering Narnia and youā€™re taken to a completely different realm. <br/><br/>At first we were seated on a small round table in front of the counter but after we ordered 3 dishes and a drink, the waitress considerately moved us to a bigger table towards the frontā€”thatā€™s the kind of service you need to see more! <br/>We got Paella Mixta, Spatchcock Chicken and Sevilla Salad to share between 2 and a La Rosita cocktail. <br/>Paella and Sevilla came first, beautifully presented and the Paella is a good portion! The rice of the Paella was amazing; creamy, well seasoned and spiced. If you squeeze the lemon it honestly adds such a kick to it! The fish was soooo tender and juicy, such a divine to chew through! Wouldā€™ve liked to see more mussels and fish on top of the rice though. <br/>Sevilla Salad was good! Loved the orange pieces which works really well with the tuna. The salad leaves were beautifully drizzled with olive oil as well! Pumpkin seeds and yoghurt was the perfect touch on top to add to the texture and flavour. <br/>Spatchcock Chicken was potentially the best chicken Iā€™ve had; incredibly juicy and tender and packed full of flavour! Good portions and comes with a nice fresh side of tomatoes. <br/>La Rosita cocktail was beautiful!!! Tangy and the mix of cranberry, pomegranate and a bunch of other amazing things worked really well. They even had dry chilli flakes in it to add to the spice and tanginess! <br/><br/>Overall the meal will set you back by $111 which I think is really good! We were both stuffed at the end and we have pretty big appetites. <br/><br/>Food: 10/10<br/>Price: 9/10<br/>Ambience: 10/10<br/>Service: 10/10

My sister & I took our parents for their birthday dinner. We were seated in the cozy garden area at the Mt Eden resto and the ambience was really nice and well lit. Our server (Georgie? From NY) was so attentive and had a bubbly personality all throughout the night. Food was amazing! Ordered the Quesadillas, Gambas, Ternera, Paella but my fave was the Calamares. All the food was sent out pretty quick despite them having a such busy night (where they needed to serve up paella good for 20 people before our order). Definitely recommend and would go again! Keep up the good work! šŸ˜Š

One of my favourite sunny spots for a wine and food in the sun. Their tapas are delicious and reasonably priced, the service is good and their courtyard is cute and cosy

I would rate this place -10 if i could.<br/>Rude service, just kept staring while taking order.<br/>Ordered a pizza and salad. Waited for 30 minutes and didnt receive anything. Had to call the waiter and ask for the food.. 5 minutes later they brought out the wrong pizza. We told them that it was the wrong pizza, and the manager scoffed and took it back. By this time we were just mad and hungry, so we just cancelled the order and went to pay for our drinks. The tab had the pizza included!!!!! We told them we r not paying for the pizza. The manager just gave us the evil looks and didnt even say sorry.<br/>Seriously screw this place. Never coming back.

Purchased Tasca's $30 for $60 grabone deal and chilled out with girlfriend in their mt eden back yard. fresh air, well maintained landscape, vines crawling above, absolutely love the ambiance.<br/>We got olive garden platter, halloumi cheese, chilli pawns and a salad. lots varieties on the platter, had some fun putting my chorizo, bread and sauce together. salad is fresh and with flavor well balanced. not huge fan of the pawns although does not taste bad but unfortunately you can smell the fishy smell. many review recommended halloumi cheese but regret ordering this dish with big chunks of diary on top of carbs which is too much for my Asian stomach cus overall the entire meal features lots of diary and bread already. guess our order went too mediterranean?<br/>The girl serving our table is lovely but it got too busy for her to man the whole back yard during lunch by herself. so sometimes had to wait for her to attend our table. A guy looked like owner stepped in now and again but did not see him often.<br/>Overall, still keen to be back try other dishes if they can offer more grabone deals.

Really enjoyed dining here. The food was amazing and staff are very lovely. <br/><br/>The Olive Garden is beautiful. They turned on the heaters as soon as we were seated and it was very warm. <br/><br/>The market fish is nicely seasoned and fresh. Highly recommend their chilli prawns, they are really delicious. The quality of the food is outstanding.

The food was nice, the service was good, given how busy this place was on a weekday they did well. With the value of the grabone voucher this was even better. Going to try the coffees now. <br/><br/>Good start, almond milk and knowledge of a ristretto....<br/><br/>That came out well. The barrista managed to get proper texture out of the almonds. Well done.

Meal was good but for me it was a little small, staff were friendly. According to Zomato, this place (Mt Eden) open until 11:45pm but around 9:30pm, they said they gonna close soon. I guess the hours info here is not correct.
CrazyCatLady_EmmaC
Great food great coffee and friendly staff. Tried breakfast, dinner and drink here and really enjoy the food. For breakfast recommend coffee with a savory scone. Dinner recommend almost everything on the tapas menu. Remember to book in advance for dinner as they often fully booked!

Plus: Yummy & generous portions! Staff were super nice! Atmosphere was perfect!<br/>Negative: I don't mind food coming out different times, but the time between our meals were pretty far apart, still an amazing placešŸ‘ŒšŸæ

Have been to Tasca 3 or 4 times and always been happy with the customer service and food. I have tried their brunch, lunch and dinner and it's all good. Third time come here, try different meals at every visit. Food looks good and the taste is sooo good. Drinks and dessert also yum, service is fast and friendly too

Beautiful place but the service was consistently bad which was unfortunate. We were left waiting at the bar for 15 minutes, as they did not know the rest of our party had arrived under the booking and were seated. Usually if they cant seat you they would offer a drink on the house as you had booked but there was no space too. But brushed it off, a mishap. However, throughout the night we had to ask to be served all the time. When we had finished our table was left half cleared for 10 minutes. The food was average for the price. Also potatoes in dishes were undercooked and not seasoned. Disappointed.

Amazing food. Good brunch options. Friendly staff and a lot of choices in the menu. It's a busy place but if you go during weekdays between 10-12pm, it would be quiet.

Nice atmosphere, really good food and service. Rather chilly due to winter but they got blankets for outdoor sitting. Would be back again for the food and drinks. Only disappointment was the churros, dough was blend and texture felt heavy. I've had better so wouldn't recommend it from the deserts menu.
Dessertislife
Me and my boyfriend went last month with a grab one voucher, great little restaurant, lovely outside area with fairy lights (i love fairy lights!) but it was raining so we had to sit inside. Very attentive staff and quick service. The menu has loads of choice and the tapas dishes makes it easier to try more before you get to full! Would recommend for sure

Tasca is beautiful. My partner and I went for dinner and the outdoor setting was stunning. The food was amazing. Portion size was good and the staff were all very friendly. Thanks team Tasca we will definitely be back.

Food is delicious!!! Amazing!! We had a big party of 23 people and the service was really great nonetheless!! Pimiento chicken, meatballs, quesadilla, bombas the best!

Been here multiple times, always worth it. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. Market Fish has been very creative both times I've had it. Definitely worth it. Desserts are good too, as is the drinks selection. Will be back for sure.

I have been here a few times. Sometimes just for a drink or for dinner. It has such a great atmosphere. Gorgeous olive garden. <br/>The tapas never disappoint.
HayShanna
My rating is mostly based on the atmosphere here -there is a beautiful courtyard hidden out the back with olive trees and fairy lights. You can sit here even in winter, under a heater and enjoy a glass of wine or some tapas. My favourite is the chilli prawns -really big juicy prawns. It is a warm and unpretentious place to go for a cosy date.
Mehully
I loved the garden at the back of the cafe. The food was really good although portion sizes are a tad small, considering how expensive it is. 10/10 would recommend to other people.

This place is BEAUTIFUL. In the evenings although it looks closed from the outside, if you are brave enough to approach it and venture the inside, you will find yourself in this gorgeous and romantics backyard/garden, with fairylights hanging off the olive trees! Apparently these trees are at least 16 years old!<br/><br/>The whole vibe and ambience were just insanely good and relaxing. Service was friendly and attentive, even the water was served in this fancy blue bottle made in Turkey.<br/><br/>For the food, there was a good selection of small tapas for sharing, or mains. Their pizza was interesting, it had a incredibly soft, thin, and chewy base, and was topped with potatoes, caramelised onions, feta cheese, and spinach. Although I personally prefer thick bready bases, the flavour combination was delicious!<br/><br/>The family enjoyed the seared tuna salad, and I had a taste of my sister-in-law's lamb, which was cooked till perfectly tender, but slightly over salted. The roasted vegetables the lamb was served with were absolutely lovely.<br/><br/>The favourite of the night was definitely the quesadillas. Although it was simple and humbling in appearance, it was packed with big flavours, and finished with a generous amount of melted cheese. I would totally recommend ordering this dish for anyone that is visiting.<br/><br/>All in all, this place = good food & good times. The ideal spots for date nights, weekend catch-ups, and small functions. <br/><br/>All in all this place = good food,

Delicious food and great service. Popped in as I was walking past on an impulse to find a nice "Tuscan" atmosphere. Try the paella Ā spicy hot chocolate which is delicious.

wonderful restaurantĀ - highly recommend it.Ā The Tapas are fantastic andĀ weĀ never tire of the food.Ā  We go there often and for good reason!Ā  The staff are wonderful too

Absolutely fantastic birthday dinner here. We had a relatively large group of 10 teenage girls. We decided a few days prior what we would order, and had a selection of tapas followed by pizza, all organised so nobody had to decide what they wanted. Everything ran really smoothly, the staff were fantastic about the whole arrangement. The food was delicious, and everyone enjoyed it very much. The fairy lights in the late summer evening made a great backdrop too. Overall such a great dinner. Service was quick too. I can't thank the staff enough for the amazing job they did. I'd been here before but now I will definitely be returning many times. Loved it!

Absolutely amazing. 10/10. Amazing food and so so so accomodating. I am vegan and they pulled out a special vegan menu for my sister and I. So many options and so much flavour. Such an amazing experience. Will be back for sure!!!

First time at Tasca today for our work Christmas lunch. The service was great, very attentive and patient with our various nutritional requirements. <br/>We had a set menu and I thought the meatballs were delicious. Paella was good too, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the chorizo added some heat, which is always welcome. <br/>Love the courtyard area. Keen to return and try some more dishes from the menu.
Holly Shaw-Fowles
I've come here a few times and I'm very impressed by the level of quality and care taken with the food. The service can be considered a tad lacking to some people who might be in a hurry but if not it's totally fine (you can wait 8-10 minutes before placing an order, food can take time getting to the table) The atmosphere and food from Tasca is fantastic
Fiona
Usually quite a pleasant place to dine with an alluring outdoor patio and pleasing dishes. However I was quite disappointed with the service, it was unfriendly and cold. I felt unwelcome.
Zutalors
Friendly, relaxed service and ambiance. After you have been a few times the staff remember you which feels welcoming. The courtyard garden area out the back is magic, especially in the evening, but the front area, inside the old wooden Dominion Road shop, is pleasant as well. We go here to imagine that we are half a world away, in Europe or maybe South America, and it does feel somewhat like that. The food used to be quite nice but, to my mind, a bit bland, but lately there is a bit more oomph to the flavours, which we enjoy. Lately we have been working our way through the menu rather than sticking to old favourites, and we have enjoyed everything that has arrived at our table. Overall, a reliably enjoyable experience.

Nice place for brunch. Its got a nice outdoor area at the back but you can't smoke there which is annoying.<br/><br/>I had the scrambled eggs with potatoes and chorizo - an absolute hit. We also shared a portion of the calamari and friend had the burger which he said was good too.<br/><br/>I loved the eggs so much that I went to Casablanca in Sylvia a week after to have the same but Tasca wins it hands down.<br/><br/>Well done and I'll be back!

At Tasca, we had a relaxed, shared lunch in its open area on a Sunday afternoon with friends.Ā  We started with tapas plates with chicken & bacon croquettes, chorizo sausage & pinto beans, meatballs and grilled Haloumi cheese; steak sandwich on Turkish bread; Lahmajun (beef pizza); chicken & asparagus quesadillas. All went well, apart from the over-cooked steak.Ā  (Food - 3.5/5; Service - 3.5/5; Ambience - 3/5)

Such a beautiful little place with very warm Spanish inspired atmosphere! All the decorations make you feel like you are on the holidays somewhere in Spain. <br/><br/>They serve amazing tapas - always full of flavour and very delicious. I'd highly recommend dolma (it's a rice stuffed red paper with some amazing spices in it) and bruschetta! Actually all food I tried there is just amazingly tasty. I also love their white house wine, can't refuse having a glass with the meal! Even the cakes they have on offer at the counter are great: so yummy and moist (tried carrot and orange cakes). <br/><br/>Definitely must visit for a tapas styled dinner!
Ghost Reviewer
Tasca is one of my favorite places, I definitely recommend the Dominion road restaurant on a hot summers day - they have the most beautiful courtyard out the back! <br/><br/>Tonight we ordered chicken croquettes, bruschetta with houlloumi and a margarita pizza.<br/><br/>The croquettes were my least favorite as they had way to much onion and the chicken was to mushy and the onion overpowered it. <br/><br/>The margarita pizza was good it came on a thin and crispy base topped with big slices of tomato, houlloumi, pesto and sprinkled with basil! <br/><br/>The bruschetta was amazing! I could live of It! It was clean and fresh on the pallet, you could taste every single bit of it from the red onion, capsicum, tomato, mint and drizzled with lemon.<br/>The houlloumi was cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth.<br/><br/>Service is always great and we didn't wait long for our food.

Went here for quiet spot to eat ! loved it.. great atmosphere and great staff.. Ā we ordered pizza which came out looking divine ! definitely will return .

Awesome food, super friendly and helpful service and good prices. Very cosy indoors in the winter and lovely outside in the garden at the back in summer. Equally great place for groups or a quiet meal with just your partner. Would definitely recommend!

Twice and awesome service. The outdoor setting was beautiful. Food was delicious. Affordable too. My 6 year old loves their pizza and I loved their tapa dishes.
Alana
We ordered the tapas lunch set, mussels and quesadillas. We love the ambience - homely and warm. The service staff was nice too.<br/><br/>For tapas lunch set, we had the croquet and meatballs and its my favourite dish of the day. The meatballs are soft and moist and the croquet has got a nice flavour. The hummus was smooth and creamy and it goes well with the well toasted bread. <br/><br/>The mussels are average in our opinion as we prefer more creamy and garlicky flavour. However, the mussels served here has got a nice flavour too, just not something we prefer. <br/><br/>As for the quesadillas, i love the mix of cheese chicken and onions. They were served hot and the crunchiness of the tortilla adds a good texture to the dish. <br/><br/>Overall we'd give it a 8.5/10 and we would definitely go back again to try other dishes. Two of us ordered three dishes and the total damage came up to $52.

Absolutely loved this place especially the Garden.<br/><br/>It was truely a hidden gem.<br/><br/>We went for coffee only but definitely going back again for a meal.<br/><br/>The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Came here for a work christmas dinner with a set menu. We sat outdoors, and the environment was really lovely especially during the sunset hours. The tapas came quick, and there was plenty to go around. The calamari was great, and dips with the bread were good too. I got the cazuela as a main, good portion. A tad bit too oily but flavours were great. Also had a slice of the pizza which was good too (they're huge too). Dessert was good, the orange cake was moist and flavourful. The churros were sugary and a great treat. Everything was really tasty, and the service was really friendly.

Visited Tasca using a voucher and I've been wanting to come back ever since.<br/><br/>We ordered the:Ā <br/>- Patatas Bravas<br/>- Panfried Chorizo Sausage<br/>- Two Dips<br/>- Grilled Haloumi Cheese<br/><br/>All items were delicious but what stood out was the Haloumi, just right!<br/><br/>However, what makes this a 4.5 for me is the outdoor seating area in the Mt Eden branch. It's truly an experience not to be missed!
Becky D.
First time dining here and we were mightily impressed.Ā  What a well kept secret, looks cute at night from the front but the courtyard out the back was a total surprise, our group were of European descent and we felt we could have been somewhere in the Med.Ā  Excellent, friendly service and the food was delicious, hard to say which was our favourite although the stuffed bell pepper was pretty tasty!Ā  Only criticism is that there were no serving spoons or a knife to cut up the dishes to share but a minor point and we enjoyed the experience - will definitely be back.
Katherinne Jaimes
My favorite place in the Dominion road/Mt Eden area. Olive garden is lovely and perfect to enjoy a meal outdoors. Food is great, I've tried several dishes and have always been pleased. Will definitely recommend to visit.

Wow sooo yum!!! I love Tapas, and so was excited to dine here on Saturday night. There was a large group of us, but even though the restaurant is not huge, we didn't feel too squashed. Small and understated, but warm and cosy atmosphere. <br/><br/>We pretty much as a group ordered most things from the Tapas menu, but some of my highlights were the lentil soup, the chicken casadillas, the filled eggplant and the grilled haloumi. The lentil soup in particular was delicious and packed with flavour. Friends also raved about the croquettes, but they had pork in them (which I don't eat) so I couldn't comment. Wait staff were polite and knowledgeable. We made a reservation so cannot comment on wait times, but seems pretty popular with limited seating at night so I would book in advance. <br/><br/>Overall, every single dish I tried was just so tasty and didn't break the bank. Would definitely recommend coming here for a fun and satisfying meal experience.

Tasca on Dominion road is a much better venue than its Newmarket counterpart. It may seem small but when ventured deeply it opens up to a large courtyard setting. As a group of 3 we chose to sit at the back. Despite the terrible weather we were draped in blankets and had the heater nearby so it was pleasant! Overall, the food was delicious and the staff were attentive leaving us to chat and eat and replacing the empty jug of water without being asked to.<br/><br/>We had a grab one voucher and chose a variety of tapas dishes and dessert.<br/>For tapas we chose Dos Dios (two dips), Dolma, Quesadillas, Calamares, Croquetas, and Panfried Chorizo Sausage. Undoubtedly the Quesidillas were popular as well as Calamares. <br/><br/>For dessert we got baklava x2- the small portion ones, the chocolate brownie and Mediterranean orange cake. My favourite was the baklava as it was drenched in honey but wouldn't mind trying the chocolate caramel slice next time too.
Vincent Warner
Service was friendly. The back yard area is lovely on a summers day and as far as tapas places go you could certainly do worse. But overall everything in this place is just average. The meatballs were ok, the croquettes were boring, the fries were almost the best thing we ate. We tried a lot of things all were pretty un-memorable, the sangria was good. But it's not like sangria is hard to make. Anyways can't see myself rushing to go back but wouldn't be bothered if friends wanted to go for a bday party or something.
Amanda B
Such a great garden out the back! Coffee wasn't the best but food and service was great, with an amazing setting out the back. I can see the appeal and will be back.
Yukiko Kato
I orderedĀ a dolma and a lamb leg that I couldn't finishĀ as wonderful volumes.<br/>The tastes were bothĀ broad and savory( bit salty),I usually prefer more delicate flavor,<br/>but money worth andĀ just goodĀ for filling your stomach.
Eden OBrien Ford
Went here to check out their grab-one deal.<br/>The indoor area is cosy and comfortable, the outdoor area is cute and well suited to group outings or if you're out on a date šŸ˜<br/><br/>We ordered a selection of tapa's, including fries, chorizo and mushroom, paprika potatoes, chicken and bacon fried balls, chilli prawns and Turkish bread. The bread was delicious, I ate the whole thing myself. The chorizo mushroom mix was delicious! Well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The paprika potatoes were a little plain, and could have used a bit more depth. The chicken and bacon balls were lacking. They tasted less like chicken and more like mush. The prawns were flavourful, but were overlooked and had not been deveined. The fries and Turkish bread sides were the highlight of the meal.<br/>Not a place I would make an effort to visit again based on my first experience, the food was very split in how tasty it was.<br/>I'd give it another chance but might try some of their other dishes or other tapa's. I'd suggest staying away from their seafood dishes and focusing on their simpler meals.
Jamez Hill III
Bought the prawn, potato in tomato, chicken balls, bread and fries. The prawns were overcooked and still had the vain in them. The food was pretty bland and you know there's an issue when the best part of the meal was the French fries. There may be other things that are good, however stay away from the tapas.
Marcella
What a hidden gem! It may look like a small dark cafe from the outside but when u go out into the "garden" area out the back, that's a different story. <br/><br/>The ambiance is great in the backyard, really brings out the Spanish theme of the restaurant. Perfect for summer lunches and dinners. We came for dinner and got the croquettas, the calimari and the Greek meatballs. The calimari was hands down the favourite dish of the night. Perfectly cooked with bold flavours and great char which adds to the flavour. <br/><br/>The croquettas were average. Lacked the chicken and bacon flavour I was looking for and had a weird mushy texture on the inside. Probably wouldn't get this again. There was a slight mixup with our meatballs dish as they gave us the tapas meatball instead of the main but they handled that well and gave us our main within minutes. The meatballs were pretty tasty but there was no wow factor to it. I did love the eggplants that came with it tho. Great texture and flavour. <br/><br/>Service was great but it was the atmosphere that made the night. Definitely coming back to try other things on the menu on a nice sunny day :)

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Visiting Tasca is like going on holiday: the front of the cafe is chic, cozy and ultra urban. As you traverse to the back, the large courtyard is light, airy and full of Latino flair. <br/><br/>FOOD: we started with breads, dips and olives which were tasty and full of flavour. I had the paella for a main and loved the pan it was served on. The dish was beautifully presented with generous amounts of seafood and lemon. Would happily eat this again! <br/><br/>DRINKS: the Spanish Rose was delicious and not too sweet. To round off my meal I had a smooth coffee, executed to perfection. <br/><br/>SERVICE: the waiter was charming and attentive. Loved his accent!<br/><br/>The courtyard is a great feature of Tasca and thankfully they have the food to match. Highly recommended.

A lovely place to dine for lunch and dinner. Ā I have been to Tasca several times now with family and friends and its lovely. Ā I love the Salmon salad and eggs benedict is amazing. Ā Staff are very friendly and very efficient - Totally recommend Tasca.
Amit Tripuraneni
Had the Tasca grill and it was a good feed. Nice setting and the dish was a good portion size with only downside to it was that poached eggs didn't come with runny centre. The mushroom was amazing and so was the relish. Gonna try other dishes to see if the rating needs to be higher

We were in Greenlane for an appointment today so we decided to try Tasca Mount Eden. Ā One of us has been several times to the Newmarket branch and had raved about the food. Ā The decor is very appropriate for a local bar and the staff were friendly and efficient. We ordered the Spaniard and the El Patron, with suitably Spanish Estrella Damm beer to start. Ā The Spaniard (scrambled eggs, sautĆ©ed potato cubes, red capsicum & chorizo) was spicy, fragrant and delicious. Ā El Patron (poached eggs, avocado, tomato & feta, with grilled tomato bread, and additional chorizo) was a lovely contrast in fresh flavours, offset by the spicy and juicy chorizo. Ā The portion sizes were very good and the meals filling. Ā This is a character-filled cafe which serves simple tasty food. Ā We recommend to anyone like their food with real taste.
Claire Emily
I was a little bit disappointed that my eggs were over cooked other than that Tasca always seems to deliver consistent food. Nice courtyard at the back of the restaurant- perfect if you're going with a large group of people.
Penelope Chua
I liked the grilled haloumi on toast and the chorizo tapas but I didn't enjoy the churros which was literally rolled in cinnamon sugar and was too sweet for my taste. Their paella is ok but not the best I've tried, but I also like their osso buco and prawns. Their service is a bit slow, we've been here a few times and it's quite a wait so try them out when you're not too hungry.
Taran
Nice atmosphere, great food and good drinks option. We were given a huge dining table for our group gathering. Good portion food, shared our drinks between 3 and had no problem splitting the bill. The waiter was in bit of a hurry to take our orders, wouldn't give us time to think.
Fleur Cerecke
We popped in for a late lunch on Sunday, and were greeted by a very friendly waitress who gave us a choice of table - either in the restaurant or out the back in their garden. We chose the garden and it was lovely - a great atmosphere for a sunday arvo lunch. She offered us blankets and put the heater on for us as it was a tad chilly.<br/><br/>I ordered a tapas plate extra turkish bread and a lemon/lime drink (which I think was homemade), and my partner ordered the Kumru burger - as he's vegetarian he requested no meat and they were happy to oblige. Overall the food was good, tasty and fresh but not overly "spanish" - there wasn't the huge depth of flavour I expected.<br/><br/>I would definitely come back and look forward to it in the summer with that great outdoor area.
Samantha Veitch
Dined at Tasca for breakfast early on Sunday morning - the decor definitely reflects the Mediterranean/Spanish style cuisine they offer and feels nice and Cosy. <br/><br/>We ordered the Moorish eggs, benedict hash with bacon and also a side of haloumi and avocado. Everything arrived fairly quickly and Both dishes were really nice! the sauce in the moorish eggs was flavoursome and the eggs were runny. The benedict hash was great well cooked runny poached eggs and the potato cakes were fluffy and seasoned nicely. along with our breakfast we ordered a long black and an espresso both which arrived nice and hot.<br/><br/>Aside from a little confusion at the end when we tried to pay for our meal we really enjoyed our experience and would like to come back and try more dishes especially from their tapas menu.
Winnie Luo
Came for dinner with a colleague with a Grabone voucher. I have been to Tasca many times before. The food is always amazing, especially the tapas! The prawns were perfectly cooked!<br/><br/>Very great place if you are looking to try many different dishes in one go! The only one thing that I personally don't enjoy is that the restaurant is just abit too dark for me to read the menu and admire what the dishes look like! <br/><br/>But the taste is amazing nonetheless! Definitely would return and try more tapas!
Athena
Was not overly impressed with the breakfast. We had an eggs benedict; the eggs were over cooked with very little H. Sauce. We also ordered a side of mushrooms which were nice, haloumi which was over grilled and had a burnt taste. The turkish bread we ordered was also over toasted with some blackish spots.

Came here for lunch today. It's smaller and quieter compared to the new market branch, so its a nice change. I got the lunch tapas with fatatas bravas and chicken bacon croquetas, it came with Spanish tomato bread, hummus, and yoghurt. It was a tastey alternative to the sandwiches and pizzas I'm used to getting. I also ordered a lemonata with my meal and it truly quenched my thirst. My sister got a chorizo and pepperoni pizza. She said though it was a little on the spicy side it was delish. My partner got a steak sandwich and asked for it to be rare. It came back well-done so that was very disappointing. At the end we decided to try their baklavas. At $7.50 each for a tiny square(about the size of the area between your thumb and index finger) we were a bit shocked. However, it was nice and probably the best I've had. But, I won't get it again purely because of its price tag. I reckon the food is better here but, its a smaller menu and less variety. In terms of pricing, its about the same as Newmarket. <br/><br/>Food: 3/5<br/> Drinks: 3/5<br/>Atmosphere: 4/5 (I liked the decor and preferred the quiter environment compared to Newmarket. Seating is also much more comfortable)<br/>Service: 3/5 <br/>Value for money: 2.5/5 (not the best, on the exxy side)

Rather than authentic Spanish cuisine, I'd sum Tasca as kiwi ingredients with a Spanish twist. The food is undoubtedly good, but being a huge Spanish food fan I didn't find the flare of tradition Spanish fare (greek meatballs anyone)? I did however enjoy the El Toro dish, but again - use of Spanish ingredients but not techniques robs it of a true Spanish dining experience.

Fantastic place. I often go here for brunch on a Sunday and absolutely love it every time I go. There is a quaint garden out the back which is extremely relaxing on a Sunday morning and the staff are more than happy to put the heaters on and supply blankets if it's a bit cold. Ā The Tasca grill is my favourite and has everything you want in a full hearty breakfast that won't leave you hungry or unsatisfied. On top of this the staff were extremely friendly and the food came out quicklyWould definitely recommend especially the garden area out the back, super cozy.
Vika Dorokhova
Lovely atmosphere and tasty food. Regular cafe food is a little more bland than the other more "fun" choices. Make sure to check out the courtyard at the back.
What I Ate Today
We went here after my boyfriend had finished exams and we had a voucher from grab one. We absolutely love sharing food and tapas is perfect for us so this seemed like a great restaurant to try.<br/><br/>The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice too. Quite romantic with the dimmed lighting but I would also go here with family. The decor was cute too and it was toasty warm inside which was nice as it was freezing outside!<br/><br/>We asked the waitress how manny dishes we should order and she said 5-6 but you could definitely leave satisfied with 4-5. We ordered the chorizo, mussels, croquettas, paprika potatoes, oxtail and quesadillas. We also got the homemade lime and lemon drinks which I would definitely recommend! Overall though the dishes were quite average and I wouldn't go back without a voucher.<br/><br/>I think they were slightly overpriced for what you got. The dishes that were really tasty there wasn't enough in a serving (the oxtail) and the ones that were quite bland had generous servings (the mussels). Still love the idea of tapas though and if we get the voucher again I may go back and try other dishes!
Phee Nicks
I've been to Tasca a few times and meals are always delicious! <br/>The service is friendly and food is brought out quickly.
Denise D'Sa
Used a voucher here for dinner, which proved to be excellent value for money. The staff were great and the range of Tapas was pretty good.<br/><br/>The grilled haloumi bruschetta was my favourite option, but it was also nice trying a bunch of different things. <br/><br/>The restaurant itself is small and cosy, I would definitely visit again! <br/>
Live To Eat
Came for dinner and absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere, great service and great food. Unlike any typical restaurant in Nz, Tasca have big tables to accommodate bigger(and louder, cos they have outdoor seating) groups. <br/><br/>Would have expected the food to be heavy and salty but everything was just nice. Staff were friendly. Only thing is that the prices were a liiiiittle bit steep for the tapas.
Katerina Hond
My family and I absolutely love this place, we come here at least once a month, the people are lovely and the food is delicious, super excited to check out the new kitchen round the back.
Samantha Lines
I really enjoyed our breakfast at Tasca. It was a bit cold to sit outside but there is a beautiful garden at the back or even a small table on the pavement out front if you like to watch the comings and goings of Dominion Road. The inside is beautifully decorated and the staff were incredibly welcoming. <br/>I had the hash benedict with bacon. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly, the wilted spinach was well seasoned, the bacon was perfectly crisp and the hash was tasty. The only negative was that it's not hash as I expected but more like mashed potato cakes. They were incredibly tasty if not what I was expecting. Id order it again. <br/>My friend had a baked egg and meatball dish which I could smell across the table. The meatballs were really flavoursome and there was a lot on her plate. There were two slices of toasted bread alongside the meatball dish that I felt really complimented the whole thing. <br/>Overall we had a good time and the staff didn't rush us to leave when we had finished even though they had started to fill up by that time. I would definitely go back to Tasca and I can't wait for summer to take advantage of the outdoor area.
Rebecca
Love this place! We've been a few times for tapas in the courtyard and always had a fantastic time and amazing food!<br/>We usually get 4 tapas for the two of us and that's more than enough. The service is great and they are always welcoming and friendly.
Carla Mardell
We love tasca. Not only can we walk there but the meals are consistent. We've eaten most of the menu and recommend the fish of the day. Food is tasty , a good portion size and presented well. When not drinking alcohol the limonatta is a good option. <br/>Staff are polite, courteous, and attentive and even when busy communicative.
Adi Cummings
Food and service at Tasca Mt Eden is great. Although it was a wet Easter Sunday for my aunt's 70th birthday, we were comfortable in the covered area with the heaters and sides rolled down. The staff were attentive and helpful. We were never waiting long for food, drink or to ask questions - brilliant service. I would recommend you go there no only for the lovely Mediterranean garden but for the ambiance, warmth, friendliness and awesome food and service any time. Thank you for making our family day special!
Maria-Elena Martinez
My friends &amp; I been here twice &amp; enjoyed the food, service &amp; hospitality! Great job!
Pauline Bennett
Used a voucher and came last weekend for brunch. I'm not sure if the 'voucher' menu is different from the normal menu but there didn't appear to be a huge selection. We both settled for the eggs benedict which came quite quickly and was well cooked and presented. The coffee is good and the staff are friendly. The venue isn't all that great - it looks a little dark and dingy and because its a long thin cafe, if someone opens the front door the wind whistles through to the back -be careful where you choose to sit !
Jbr89
I often eat at Tasca, I enjoy the friendly staff, the quick service and the atmosphere of the inside and the olive garden. The food isn't bad either, will be returning!
Liz Crompton
We have Sunday brunch here once a month. We live in Manurewa but it's worth the drive. The courtyard on a summer's morning is such a delight to enjoy a fabulously cooked breakfast. But my favourite part about visiting Tasca is the coffee. Yum. The staff are always friendly. If you eat at Tasca in the evening, they even supply blankets if you're outside! How cool is that. Keep up the good work.
Kristeen Mae
I had a birthday dinner with my whole family tonight at the Dominion Road branch, we took a risk of going despite several negative reviews and I absolutely regret it! We had reservation for 17 people but we ended up with a little over 20 people instead. One family member requested additional table and our lady server rudely told us "well you only have reservation for 17 people" and then walked away. We literally had to move an additional table ourselves! Our lady server was just plain rude, dismissive and talked to us as if we don't speak English!! I even felt the need to asked the manager if they can still accommodate us or not! Food takes so long to be served. They even forgot two of our orders. I am never ever going back here again! The whole experience in this place ruined my birthday and just a complete waste of money!
Shalima Ram
After reading reviews I wasn't expecting very much when 3 of us went with our Deal Voucher but I was very pleasantly surprised, the food was awesome, the staff were great and the atmosphere was lovely and very cosy on a cold winters night, the 2 male staff that were on tonight were so friendly, <br/><br/>I would definitely recommend this place to anyone- we will definitely be going back.

Had a deal voucher so went with my wife &amp; 2 yr old son. To be honest, we didn't expect too much from the restaurant (after a few disappointments with other group-purchase deals). We went around 11 o'clock on a Saturday morning. There weren't many people in the restaurant, so the staff came up immediately to welcome us. Water was quickly brought to our table, and we ordered drinks. I had a cappuccino and wife had a hot chocolate, the coffee was okay but my wife liked the chocolate as it wasn't too sweet. We ended up ordering three mains, an Eggs Benedict, a pepperoni pizza &amp; a chicken &amp; asparagus quesadillas. I think I ā€œinhaledā€ the eggs Benedict in under 5 minutes (I was hungry). It was nice, but not extraordinary. Then my wifeā€™s pizza came, they have their pizzas served on a large wooden chop board which we thought was quite neat. My wife liked the pizza very much although it was a little salty to her likings. Then the quesadillas came. I must say, itā€™s one of the best quesadillas I have ever hadā€¦ (I havenā€™t had many, but then again, you get the point). It was nice &amp; crispy on the outside and tasty filling oozes out to greet you when you cut it. I would have given it full marks if the asparagus was fresh, nonetheless, it was one of our better cafĆ© experiences. Very happy with the food and the service was prompt and friendly. I would definitely go back and recommend it to my friendsā€¦

The first time I entered Tasca Olive garden I was sold. What an amazing oasis to have in the centre of a city. <br/><br/>So, I went with a group of friends to Tasca to celebrate my birthday. I had booked the table in the deck area in the Olive grove, just in case of rain. It was a perfect evening with great staff (nothing was a problem for them) and food. They even had mosquito repellent on hand for the likes of me who attract mozzies at 100m!<br/><br/>I have been back since for a glass of wine on a sunny evening with a friend, what bliss<br/><br/>I highly recommend Tasca Dominion Rd

I used a Daily-do voucher to visit Tasca for the first time ā€“ I shall certainly go back, even without a voucher! The cafĆ© is small inside, but there is a large garden at the back. The evening showers didnā€™t affect us (our table was in the covered ā€œlean-toā€) or those under the large umbrellas, but one group had to move from under their tree to a table under an umbrella. <br/>We had some tapas as starters, the Dips Duo (tzatziki and hummus with hot Turkish bread) and Pan con Tomate (Spanish grilled tomato bread) were particularly good. <br/>Three of us had a selection of tapas for mains - Panfried Chorizo Sausage (with garlic fried bread and mushrooms), Dolma (bell pepper stuffed with rice, onion, herbs, currants &amp; pinenuts, with tzatziki), Calamares (pan fried with sea salt and parsley, with aioli and lemon) and Chilli Prawns were all very good. The other 3 had individual dishes ā€“ the Greek meat balls (on sautĆ©ed Mediterranean vegetables, with a crushed tomato &amp;<br/>oregano sauce and a dollop of Greek yoghurt) were very good and the Spatchcock Chicken Algarve (with sautĆ©ed potatoes and fresh tomato and black olive salad) was excellent. <br/>Coffee, and tea (a good selection of both and also hot chocolate) were accompanied with some desserts ā€“ the affogato (ice cream drowned with espresso coffee &amp; liqueur (several choices)) was excellent and the churros (spanish donuts with hot melted chocolate sauce) would have done for 2 if 1 of us hadnā€™t been greedy! The double chocolate brownie cake was very good and individual Turkish delight were a nice touch for 2 of us who were already full!<br/>The (Spanish and American) waitresses were efficient and pleasant.<br/>The total bill was $260 for the 6 of us, including 2 beers but no wine - we brought our own ($5 corkage).<br/>Overall, a very pleasant experience. (No, Iā€™m not related to the owners or staff!)

We dined here last weekend and enjoyed a fabulous time. The ambience, friendliness of all the staff and food were all superb. We both ordered the shoulder of lamb and it was out of this world! Just try it! I thought the tapas we had to kick off were well priced, we had three. It was full inside and there was about half a dozen tables occupied in the very pretty rear courtyard as well so clearly the locals appreciate Tasca as the gem that it is! We'll return for sure.

This review hits Rock bottom. The worst possible dining experience ever for a romantic evening. We highly recommend that nobody visits this restaurant. Tasca recently advertised a value voucher on a daily deal site. We were entertained that Tasca were promoting a great authentic Spanish experience, value for money and hopefully many a return and regular eatery. <br/><br/>We began by ordering a glass of wine. The waitress brought our beverages however 10 minutes later the manager decides to approach and ID my partner solely and as she did not bring her handbag, the restaurant revokes her glass of wine. The manager argued with us and did not apologize. She disrespected my partner and myself who we are a middle aged professional couple. Other customers sat and watched in embarrassment as the manager was left without any excuses and without apology. Fair enough the manager did their duty to ID customers, but this really went too far for a small restaurant with few customers at the time. There was no drive to a humble hospitable approach and a ethical practice to enlighten first time guests to a hopeful return. We left without having our meals served. We recommend no body to visit Tasca Mount Eden

Amazing food, a great selection of Tapas to offer, Lovely musician in the corner on sat nights playing some Acoustic Jazz, got 4 tapas between the two of us and a bottle of red. The night went down superbly

Tapas dishes very overpriced. The chicken and smoked bacon coquettes were processed and made day prior and very dry and lacking any flavour. The squid was ok but at $15 as a tapas dish was average. the bread was the best thing. Not BYO so for 2 x tapas dishes bread and two glasses of wine and $62 later I went home and had something to eat. Lower your prices and put in more tables.

A superb experience- food, service, ambience; none could be faulted. And it is nice to find somewhere that serves plenty of wines by the glass, and distinctly on the generous side. Excellent value for money, we'll be back and bringing a few friends.

Been here twice and both times enjoyed outstanding service and food. Looking forward to visit number three.

What a fabulous setting out the back at night. The tapas are sensational and the service you cannot fault. Worth a visit

Pricey for what it is... Nice tapas. Not much to choose from if you are fussy. Have been a few times though to this one and Nuffield. Do nice breakfasts
