Basic and clean decor, food was absolutely delicious, our mains were cooked to perfection, all components to dish were perfect. Dessert was as delicious as the mains. Friendly and attentive service. Will definitely be going back - 6.00pm, 29.12.18.

2nd time at Five Restaurant & Bar. The food is Divine. For my Entree i had Crab and Scampie rice cake 💕😍, my main i had the scotch steak meal the sauces the chefs make, omg mouthwatering 👍👍. Hubby had the Brisket croquettes for his entree and Pork Belly for his main! Ive had this before and so good love the element of flavour and texture the walnuts bring to the pork belly and mash. Would definately reccomend the food this establishment has to offer. Has a Relaxed and inviting environment. Staff and owners are very friendly and welcoming we received nothing but exceptional service. We Definately be bringing a few friends and returning for a 3rd time soon. Thanks so much for the wonderful eveining.

Brand new restaurant and the owners will personally do what they can to help you enjoy it. Plates are quite big and the mains are still good as takeaway if you can't finish it all. Got a Groupon deal so look out for those. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 right now is that the overall decor seemed bland and not matching the advertised purpose of treating your 5 senses. Blue walls with random sailboat paintings and a painted concrete floor. Maybe they'll be able to spice it up with time.

It was a cold wet night so I was hoping that this restaurant would not be exposed and drafty as some are in Mission Bay. The moment I walked into Five I thought, yes, this is the perfect place for the evening. The place was warm and inviting in temperature, but also from the warm and friendly greeting we received on our arrival and the ongoing friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. It was the perfect place for a date as there is plenty of room between the tables, intimate lighting and quiet tables for two in the corner. Whilst the staff were very helpful they were not imposing; it’s the sort of place you could talk for hours and not feel rushed. Five has a lovely ambience which makes your meal feel like a special occasion. The dĂ©cor is stylish but welcoming and the chairs are comfortable and invite you to stay. The food was beautifully presented and very delicious. It’s honestly the best meal I’ve had in Mission Bay and I will definitely be returning there and will recommend it to all my friends and family as a go to place for any occasion.

Excellent. Our entrees were pork belly and grilled chicken. Mains fish of the day and pork belly. Dessert creme brulee x2. All recommended. Taste, size and presentation excellent. Service, ambience, and price also excellent. Particularly appreciate spatious layout and absence of noise. Parking outside also excellent. Do it. It's good.

The tuna apettizzer was beautiful! I would totally order that as an entree as i couldn’t get enough. Food was good, however a little high priced for the experience you get. The menu pricing and portioning comes across as higher class than the establishment. The decor was simple, music was a comfortable level and service was very very good. Both waiters were extremely attentive and friendly. Highlights were def the tuna and the pork belly main. Unfortunately though, the crackling tasted old and was almost inedibly hard.

Five treats itself as if it is a Michelin Star candidate, when in fact, it is a nice, cozy restaurant and nothing more than that, and there is nothing wrong with being a nice, cozy restaurant. The atmosphere is bland and the items are pricey, but the quality of the food is incredible with the cooks on steaks being always perfect. Five Restaurant & Bar needs to take itself less seriously, stop being elitist for no particular reason, and acknowledge being what it is: one of the best restaurants in Mission Bay.

I came here on Friday with a group of 8. Everything was perfect, really enjoyable. One in our group is French, and he said the creme brulee had the best egg flavour and that it brought him back to when his grandmother made it for him when he was little. Tucked away at the back of the main road and not that far away from the reserve and beach. The service we received was good and the internal setting was nice, although we felt quite cold when we were there for dinner.  All our meals were nicely cooked and presented as you can see from the photos. This place can be improved by having more comfortable chairs and more heating.  Not a bad place for dinner.  Hope to come back for more.

Went for first table, but was a bit disappointed by slow service - enjoyed the appetizers (arancini and croquettes) but was unconvinced by the ‘roasted’ beetroot which appeared on the table icy cold, not a bit roasted. Potato gnocchi was enjoyable as well as the pork belly, tender with great complimenting apple purĂ©e. Decided not to stay for dessert however.

Quiet place. There were 3 tables on friday night. I came as part of first table. Service was impeccable - 5/5.<br/><br/>The scampi and crab rice cake was very bland. It was probably 5% scampi and crab and 95% rice. Not recommended. I didn't even finish. 1/5<br/>The croquette was ok. 3.5/5<br/>Duck pate was ok too. 3.5/5<br/>Steak 4/5. Nice charred flavour. The potato thing it came with was very dry on the inside. Cooked from frozen I'm guessing.<br/>The pork was apparently pretty good. I didn't have any.<br/>It seems like the place really like watercress. Everything was garnished with it.

We just couldn’t stop trying eachothers food, everything was amazing! Main, desserts... Wow😍 Its not known , many pass by for the restaurants on the seaside but the food here is way way better! The flavours are combined amazingly!

Went to Five for a 30th, really good service, food is decent, but did find my steak was a bit too over cooked (i asked for medium rare) and the fish didn’t taste 100% fresh. Great location though, easy parking and mission bay is right across the road!

We were given a grabone voucher for Christmas to dine here. When we walked into the near empty restaurant we were told they'd have to find space for us - throughout our dinner there were plenty of available tables. Pork belly was very good. Beef cheek tasted like capsicum and not much else. Our waitress was nice but the front of house staff were rude and laughed when we produced our grabone voucher.

Five stars for Five. Friendly service and tasty food. I had the special of beef cheeks with mash and veg. The beef cheeks were tender and falling apart with a deep rich sauce. Partner had the scotch fillet perfectly cooked to medium rare.

Came here on a Saturday evening. We were greeted by a friendly chirpy blonde girl with an accent. <br/>We were kind of awkwardly seated at the back by a corner where we could see the staff room and all the back door action...preferred not to have. <br/><br/>We got the Crab and Scampi Rice Cakes and Chilli Prawns for entree. <br/>We got their Beef Cheek special, Lamb Rump, Pork Belly for mains and a side of steamed greens. <br/><br/>Food took longer than anticipated, given we were one of two tables seated at the time we placed our order; more diners arrived later. <br/>Crab and Scampi Rice Cakes were rarely indifferent to those frozen crumbed fish cakes you find at your local supermarket. Chilli Prawns were too small a portion, albeit it was tender and good balance of spice. <br/>Favourite for me would be the Lamb Rump; subtly smoky tender meat cooked to perfection, sitting on a creamy bed of pumpkin mash purĂ©e and peas. <br/>Your knife slices right through the Beef Cheeks, it was such a satisfyingly smooth sensation moving the knife through. The meat literally melts away in your mouth, although it lacked a bit in seasoning. The jus was nice too, but the accompanied Greek salad was a bit ad hoc and could have been more generous. <br/>I’ve heard a lot about their Pork Belly main, but personally I found the meat a bit dry and lacking in flavour. The citrusy Apple purĂ©e and walnuts with mash on the side elevated the textures and flavours, as did the pieces of pork crackling. <br/>Steamed greens were broccoli and green beans; which were a bit too salty. <br/><br/>Service was friendly the whole way, albeit at first my glass of water was left empty for a tad too long. The girl noticed it eventually and made sure our glasses were filled since then. I also want to commend on one of the male staff who seemed like a managerial role who correct our bill at the counter. Occurred to me now that the team at Five are all really young and full of energy! <br/><br/>Overall it was a good experience but I would recommend more flavours in their dishes.<br/><br/>Food: 8/10<br/>Price: 8/10<br/>Ambience: 7/10<br/>Service: 9/10

This place is located in where there’s ample parking. The food is delicious, cooked well amazing dessert. I’d go back and order 2 entree and 2 desserts next time. We ordered via first table the ambience was nice and welcoming. Steak cooked to perfection. I ordered the beef cheek, soooo delicious this review isn’t doing it justice. 💯💯💯

It was an afternoon with very few customers. Our entrées were Garlic crostini with smoked salmon & avocado cream; duck liver paté with watercress & garlic croutes. Crostini was nice & paté was exceptionally good. Our mains were pork belly with apple purée & watercress; fish of the day with a salad. Pork belly skin was crispy & taste was right. Fish was a bit fishy. Wait-staff was friendly but with so few customers around, the mains came more than 20 minutes after we finished the entrées - that was a bit too long.<br/>(Food - 4/5; Service - 2.5/5; Ambience - 3.5/5)<br/>Visited on 3 April 2018

Well located place in Mission Bay. The bar is small but the negroni is wicked!<br/><br/>Had a lot of dishes. Didnt like the carpaccio much but the arancini was good, although it deserved a bit more cheese to make the "telefono".<br/><br/>the mains were very good. the pork belly was crispy and the eye fillet cooked and seasoned very well.

Staff is really welcoming. The food was delicious, we tried the chilli prawns and squid rings for entree and the sauce was very tasty and nice blend to the seafood. The main we had the fish of the day and the lamb rump and it was one of the best dinner we ever had. So thank you for a wonderful experience. My partner and I will surely come back :)

If it were not for the beachfront location, there would have been no saving grace. Our waitress was very friendly but can't say the same about the other front of house. White meats were all dry to the point of no return. Don't get the sirloin - apparently grey in the middle for a medium rare is 'just how they do it' and that there is no way that it can be different. Interesting. Save your money and go to one of the many other great restaurants down the Mission Bay strip.

We had a great evening dining at the Five Restaurant and Bar. The service was spot-on and the food was delicious. We ordered a number of appetisers, entrees and mains finishing off with a creme brûlée. The ingredients were fresh and the portion sizes were just right. My favourites were the pork belly and chicken wrapped in prosciutto which I couldn't fault. Will happily recommend this restaurant to friends and family.

What an amazing little place.Service was top notch and attentive the very moment you step into the restaurant. Food was very flavoursome .Ordered the lamb meatballs which were good.Beetroot dish had a lot more rocket thean i envisioned. The chilie prawns is the star fisb of the restaurant.Mains of fish of the day anf lamb rump were very well cooked with good presentation.Cant fault much except for the meat that wasnt quiet cooked the way I wanted..<br/>Will be back..Thank you
