Good food and friendly service. Nice spot for brunch! Good food options and coloring available for kids.

The perfect place for breakfast. Lovely food, lovely people, lovely atmosphere. What’s not to like? Well done everyone.

Food was excellent!! Staff were very attentive and friendly. Great to finally go to a Cafe with a decent size table, so many cafes have tables that can barely hold your coffee cup. Will be back to try the omelet next time.

Breakfast was amazing! Cooked to perfection and beautifully plated. The coffee was awesome too. Food doesn't get better than this and I will definitely be back.

Located on the corner of Rosebank and Jomac Road, the carpark entrance is on Jomac Road. Stopped by for lunch and was fortunate to get a table without booking since it was fairly full. We were warmly greeted at the door and escorted to our table. After a short wait we received menus. Didn't have to wait too long to get our food and drinks ordered. Apart from the menu, they also had food cabinets with goodies like donuts, tarts and truffles. The hot chocolate was nice. The food was even nicer. I had ordered the lamb special and it was quite special. It looked and smelt quite impressive and the taste was really good. Adding the different components on the plate gave different flavours and textures. The lamb was well season and cooked nicely. We even got some dessert to eat later in the afternoon and it was delicious. What got me was how well the place was run. Even though it was full, things didn't stand for too long and everything was running quite smoothly. It was easy to just sit back and enjoy the food.

Wonderful cafe. Beautiful food and coffee. Kai and Sharon always give a warm welcome and friendly professional service. Lovely venue, good for meetings or just to have a quiet place to work. And Martha's playlist would give it an extra star if we could.
Codie Vincent
The service is great, ambience, awesome. Food tastes delicious. There's not that many car parks. On the expensive side - that's the only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 star. So much competition.
Haggis Henderson
The people who run this place do a terrific job. I enjoyed the food and I appreciated the great service. I went at a quiet time so the atmosphere was hard to judge fairly.
Shirley Bunker
Very nice cafe. The menu was quite extensive and the cabinet food looked lovely. Service was great.

This is the first time I came to Rosebank coffee & kitchen ! Amazing coffee especially flat white and staff were very pleasant. Soft lighting, comfortable temperature and soothing atmosphere. You must come and spend some time with family and friends here!

Best friend found this place and Im glad she did cause we enjoyed it so much. The food is excellent and the prices are good. Would definitely go again

Food are tasty. I like the squid ink spaghetti, yummy yumy!! Would give 5 star if you can improve your service.

Fabulous place for coffee and cakes, this is located at the heart of Rosebank Rd business zone, we just simply come for weekend coffee, cakes are wonderful, look wonderful taste wonderful. Friendly staff, modern deco, bright and sunny, trampoline park next door, bring your kids, have a break, highly recommend.

Heard amazing things about this place but it was very underwhelming to say the least! Coffee was good! So smooth and yum , so that’s a positive ! Staff were friendly too, but the food was very underwhelming, I had the mushrooms , not much too it very bland and flavourless , needed a lot of seasoning. Also very minimal on the plate. Others had the Omelette , flavours were very minimal and the combinations were very odd
Yana Petrenko
Ran in for a quick coffee and just to say this place isn’t my cup of coffee. The service is alright i guess but they had no flavour for their shots which left me with a very bitter coffee that i barely had a sip of. Don’t think i’ll be back here
Ray George
Honestly the worst service! They always are understaffed and their coffee/food is so rubbish. Usually have to wait 15 minutes for a long black lol.

Get bored of smashed avocado? Then what about smashed 🎃 @eatatrosebank ~ It served with generous amount of smashed pumpkin, which was creamy and sweet~ yum!

I was quite impressed with the creativity of the Rosebank bene! Yes, the bacon was slightly on the chewy side and the little amount of hollandaise seemed like melted butter but honestly, all the flavours expected from a bene were present, visuals of the dish was on point and the service was lovely. So overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely come again. Another thing I'd like to add is not to do with the establishment but more towards the person before me, leaving a 1 star review - totally not called for. Although I slighlty agree on the bacon part, its a bit ridiculous to expect massive dome-shaped crispy potato skins to come 'fried' and not deep fried. Seems like they only created a profile just to leave that one review, no pics to back their claim up either...

Sorry but our experience here was seriously under par and we won't be returning.  My salad:  the lettuce was more iceberg than cos as advertised, and only one piece of fennel to be found.  Bacon pieces very chewy.  Vinaigrette lacking in zing as was the service.  Potato skins inedible - rock hard.   Menu states 'fried' and that's what I thought we were getting but these are Deep Fried.  Also a piece of green scrubber embedded in one of them which I informed them of.  That could happen to any one but along with everything else it was a bit much.   My friend was paying and in hindsight should have asked for a credit for the 'scrubber skins' but we just wanted to get the heck out of there.  I took some doggie bags to go (for my dog!!) but I'm not giving him that deep fried s....

We reserved a large table at the The Rosebank Coffee & Kitchen and upon arrival we were glad we did as it was very busy. Staff were welcoming and friendly, there was a good range of tasty food and coffee. Overall a great experience.

Visited this cafe on a weekend for brunch. There are mixed reviews about our visit, the staff were super nice, also love the space and size of the cafe. Food however, I ordered the eggs bene with mushrooms and my partner had the drunken mushroom dish.<br/>Eggs bene dish was nice except the potato rosti wasn't as crispy as i was hoping for, but the mushrooms and eggs were cooked nicely. The other dish was very small and not filling at all, maybe add some sides to this dish if you order it?
Marissa
The staff are lovely and it was very nice of the kitchen to make a takeaway salad for me even though the kitchen was not open for another 20 minutes... Generous amount of chicken in the salad, lettuce was crispy and fresh, but it would be nice to have some other salad ingredients other than just lettuce (e.g. tomato, cucumber). The apple pie was also delicious. Will definitely be back.
Hannahmareecarr2
Such a lovely place to come to, with amazing food and friendly staff. The portion sizes are very generous and well worth what you pay for. It is quite popular, so can be quite busy during the weekend, but 100% worth it

Nice modern cafe tucked away in the industrial side of Avondale. We ordered eggs bene with beef on the bone and it was quite difficult to cut off and found it quite fatty. The rest of the dish was pretty good though.
Bradley Ben
Very clean and lovely cafe, staffs are very friendly, the gnocchi I ordered is a surprise, very special and delicious, my friend and I had a good lunch time today!

I have been here two years ago, and once again came here to find that it has become better.<br/>warm stuff delicious food <br/>I can't fault anything in this place <br/>One of the best cafe in Auckland

We really like the slab bacon here. The coffee can be a little weak, so we just get a double shot in a small cup, and always a lemon meringue pie to take away if they have it. It's a nice atmosphere, the tables are not too close to each other. Excellent service.
Rahul Bathla
Very nice cafe , friendly staff and amazing food.<br/>Not to forget the coffee is great as well.<br/>Love going there it's locals favorite. Highly Recommended

A little gem sitting in Avondale’s industrial district. Food and drinks were on point - I ordered an eggs bene with miso salmon and a latte. The eggs were poached perfectly and there was the right amount of toppings and salmon.<br/><br/>The environment is really nice - modern, airy and spacious. Heaps of room for families and a semi sheltered, dog friendly outdoor area. <br/><br/>Only dropping a star as the service was a quite slow despite it not being super busy (was at approx 3/4 capacity) - it took about 30 minutes to get served. Might have been a hiccup or there was a sudden influx in people, but it’d be useful to provide and estimate beforehand if the wait is expected to be that long.

Literally the best Eggs Benedict we have ever had! Service was good and pricing was spot on! We will definitely be back again and again! :) 10/10

Not honest stuff. I went to this restaurant with my other three friends. Two of us are holding Zomota Gold. Before we made the order, we told the girl who made the order for us that two of us have Zomota Gold, do we need to show the membership now? She replied just show the membership when paying. We ordered four main dishes. But when we were paying, the restaurant insisted that only one dish can be free. Finally we paid for three dishes.<br/><br/>After confirmed with Zomota, it is the restaurant’s fault that charged us three dishes. But because we didn’t keep the bill, there was nothing Zomato can do!

Great food & selection. nice and warm, love the heaters for the cold mornings. Great hot chocolates and really friendly staff that checked up on us. Only downfall was that the potato nuggets were super bland for the price.
Katherine Swift
This cafe was zomato 1+1 food while we went again today they said it finished. We ok to pay normal price on the food we used to have. but the waitress forgot our orders until we asked why. so we had waited about 30mins to get our food. And 45mins to get the coffee. Very disappointed with the food. We ordered $34 fish of the day and $34 lamb, size only 2/3 as we usually had. My husband was a chef he can tell that they shorter the process as well cuz the fish was not well done. We definitely won't come again and not recommend to all. I was upset that I was given this cafe point 5 and now need to amend to 2.

Service – Excellent and helpful, from the hall staff to those working in the kitchen (thank you for the tomato sauce 😊 ). There is a sign saying wait to be served upon entrance, but the hall staff were busy so after a wee wait we just made our way over to the counter, no issues.<br/> <br/>Food –<br/>We ordered 2 x Rosebank Bene; one with miso cured salmon and another one with Bacon + mushroom. On both dishes I loved the avocado smear and presentation, both had hash rostis cooked to crispy perfection. My favorite was the salmon one, where they load on a lot of salmon. Bacon and mushroom are diced in to chunks on the latter Bene.<br/>Drunken Mushroom – This was a great vegetarian dish, loved the puree especially the white one which has a strong tasteful flavor.<br/>French toast – We ordered this with streaky bacon, and presentation was playful and pretty. A lot of food in one plate. I thought this lacked maple syrup but I have a sweet tooth so this is my personal preference.<br/> <br/>Modern, clean atmosphere with enough space even for families. No problem with parking either.<br/>

It was alright. Good food good stuff. Nothing spectacular about anything though food was fresh and staff were attentive and place was clean.

My daughter and I shared a blueberry muffin and a cheese and herb scone.  They were delicious.  My coffee was strong and hot.  Highly recommended.

This place never disappoints!! I remember the first time I had their doughnuts and I felt like my life had changed! This place is nice and tidy and very modern.
Jerry Liu
Possibly the best place for brunch in the area. Highly recommended. You get good value for the high quality food, well presented and the portionsa are generous. I really like their drunk mushroom. Their eggs bene are awesome, you get a hash brown (I think) instead of the normal English muffins or bread as the base. Super tasty.

Really lovely spot for a casual brunch. <br/>Ordered the wagyu beef but was told is not available so changed to short ribs. Beef was a little bit dry but the flavour is good. <br/>I like the texture of the creamy Gnocchi but just wish there could be a bit more of the toasted hazelnuts to add on a bit more crunchiness:)
Mansi Jain
Not satisfied with the quality of the food, it’s overpriced and not fresh, <br/>I have ordered smashed avocado , and it had avocado paste and over cooked tomatoes. ( for $24 brunch I would expect nothing but fresh food )<br/><br/>I asked for hash Browns Insted of eggs ( they advertise their hash brown home made, they might be homemade but looked like frozen for months it was dry and had no taste )<br/><br/>They did not inform that I have to pay extra when I asked them to swap the eggs with hash . I paid $8 extra for that.<br/><br/>Overall, I left my food and paid $30 for nothing. <br/><br/>I am very disappointed customer. And will never recommend anyone here. <br/><br/>

Awesome food!! This place is beautiful, wood highly recommend if you are after great food. However, it was a long wait, so not so great if you're after a quick business lunch.

I’ve been before, had the salmon eggs Bennie. It was delicious, but same as last visit the experience was a little clunky. There is a suggestion of table service, but I think they get busy so ends up being get a menu from the paystation. They try with their food and I think they are close to being really good. I tried the short rib bennie which was replacing the brisket, my friend had the mushrooms (which I tried - Delish!) <br/>The short rib missed the mark on the cooking. 2nd time in a week for me (two different locations) a bit of meat hasn’t been trimmed correctly and left chewy and inedible. I commend the staff on their willingness to correct the situation. All in all everything else was really nice and I will give them another try.

Have been here multiple times. Delicious food and coffee. Their eggs Benedict with bacon and scrambled eggs are amazing. Coffee is top notch. Will definitely be back

Taste: the french toast was immaculate according to my friend. The açai bowl was pleasant but nothing extraordinary for me <br/><br/>Value:<br/>Great value!! Proportions are great for the price. The Zomato Gold promotion applies to the entire menu which was an added bonus! <br/><br/>Ambience: <br/>Talk about modern & aesthetic. The exterior design was just as awesome as the interior design. Basic girls be having a photo shoot out here. It’s located in a slightly busy industrial area but it’s not too hard to navigate <br/><br/>Customer service:<br/>Tad difficult to get their attention even when I was waving my arms around in the air. Perhaps a little understaffed but that’s understandable. Very pleasant upon interactions though. One lady could smile a little more or get some rest if she had a rough day <br/><br/>Other comments: <br/>Unique options to choose from the menu & it’s friendly to customers with dietary needs. The food took quite some time to arrive on our table, maybe around 15-20 minutes. Maybe it was because the chef was taking their time beautifully decorating what we ordered—#notcomplainingx<br/><br/>

Food and service did not meet expection. French toast was nice and yum but everything else was really disappointing. The salmon bene was the worst I’ve ever had. The hash base is tasteless and so hard to chew. It’s honestly too oily and rock hard. Same as the fired potato skin. It’s rock hard like it’s been fried for 2 hours. Staff didn’t look happy at their job, the place was quite empty yet we just cannot get the attention of a staff somehow. Do not recommend this place...<br/><br/>Food 4/10 Service 4/10 Ambience 8/10

Came in for lunch on a Tuesday, it was moderately busy but service from the barista (who also took our orders) was wonderful. Coffee had great crema and flavor, and food was worth the pricing.<br/><br/>Drunken mushroom had the most delicate cauliflower puree, and mushrooms were perfectly cooked and full of umami. Green beans were pretty average, seemed just sauteed without any spice. We also ordered cut of the day which was lamb rump, and everything about this dish was perfect - my mom said she couldn't believe lamb rump could be cooked so tenderly and evenly medium rare throughout!<br/><br/>Will definitely visit again if we're in the area!

It was my favorite cafe, but it’s one year ago. this Good Friday we went here for a holiday brunch. We ordered French toast and eggs benny. Eggs benny was not tasty but French toast was ok. I think this cafe changed hands, their food presentation changed lots.
Annie Low
LOVE THEIR EGG BENNY with bacon & salmon !!!!! <br/>The Benedict w/ need taste quite weird though<br/>Good vibes <br/>Great coffee <br/>French toast is not bad too

Great food and environment! Had the Rosedale Bene with smoked cured salmon. My partner had the Gnocchi. Both dishes were delicious ! Will definitely visit again.

Amazing friendly staff here, so friendly and accommodating. Food presentation is lovely and venue is super handy! Reccomend if your local!!!

Food was well cooked and presented, kids menu was quite expensive to other cafe kids menus. Overall quite a limited menu for brunch. So would go back with a few more menu options.

Found Rosebank Coffee and Kitchen in Zomato Gold and wish I had been here earlier. It’s such a gem in Avondale! The cafe is very well presented with a modern touch. Staff is friendly with fast service. Most importantly the food is very nice. Left full and satisfied. 🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️

We had a lovely brunch, food and service was perfect. Eggs Bene with bacon and mushrooms also had Eggs, bacon on toasted bread. Both meals were tasty and filling. Cushla Foley

First time using zomato gold. Staff were really friendly and accommodating as we needed a table that would fit 4 adults and 2 prams as well. We ordered smashed avocado, eggs benedict with beef, the french toast and potato nuggets. All items were yummy!
Mrs Bobabits
Nice decor, friendly n attentive staff, good food but not happy with the amount of bacon in our eggs bene, in other cafes they give 2 strips of bacon, but here they give you bacon bits. Quiet expensive coffee in my opinion considering the cup size they give you.

Staff/service: 5/5<br/>Venue: 5/5<br/>Price/portion: 4/5<br/><br/>Wanted to try the smoked miso cured salmon but it was not available. Had the homemade creamy gnocchi with added chicken breast. It was bit too much for me as I wasn’t sure of the gnocchi portion. My husband the smashed Avocado and it’s fairly normal.<br/><br/>Join Zomato Gold and get 1+1 on food or 2+2 on drinks. One of the best Benni’s we have ever had and they have variations with Salmon, Mushroom and Beef Brisket. Friendly staff and beautiful food. Their consistency is just great. Do not forget to try their crispy potato skins 👌🏼.

Good food, coffee and food. Menu is straight forward, they’re certainly not attempting to reinvent the wheel, but they know what they’re doing.

Claimed Zomato gold membership 1+1 for the first time and was not disappointed. I ordered the eggs benedict with wagyu which were served interestingly in cube shape. It was savoury and best eaten together with the polenta, otherwise it can come off a tad strong. The capuccino was was good but took a little longer to get served.<br/><br/>Overall the service was amazing, I felt like the staff looked after us, apologizing for the delay and asking how the food was. The ambience was also amazing, I like the high ceiling and hip feel to it. Wouldn't have tried it it wasn't for Zomato Gold Membership.<br/><br/>WIll come back again.

My friend and I had very disappointing experience here. We were seated and order taken quickly but my friend’s order was not correct when it came out. The replacement dish (eggs bene) was poorly made with the potato hash being almost burnt. My drunken mushroom was simply a few mushrooms on toast. Dish sizes were meek. Would not come back again.
Foodiefromauxgee
I wish I could rate 0 to be honest. Wanted to catch up with friends for lunch so we agreed on Rosebank Coffee and Kitchen. Once we got there we waited to be seated as the sign they had pointed out to do....no one came to seat us, we stood there feeling quite uncomfortable, in the end my friend just went over to an empty table and waved at the staff to let them know we were going to sit down to which we got a nod in reply, so basically the sign was pretentious and pointless. Was then given menus and water...warm sparkling water :/ then the cherry on top. I ordered the Caprese Salad thinking it would be really nice for the price of (22 or 23dollars from memory) all I got was an oversized bag of lettuce dumped on a plate. I was so disappointed but then the welcome (or lack of I should say) from the beginning should have been an indicator. The best thing about my meal was the warm sparkling water. So ripped off. Diner beware
MagEats
Sadly we must have missed the memo on the salads - Rosebank Salad w chicken @$14 + Caprese Salad @$22, was abit annoyed at the lack of chicken added on to find 2 small shreds within the lettuce stack including it being heavly dressed ( far too sweet to taste healthy ) and the caprese was not a iconic caprese salad but the star being the rocket n beetroot? Probs worst salads iv had at any cafe menu. ( it taste how it looks ). Potato skins were cooked well at least. Ambience is good.<br/><br/>

We went recently for my mums birthday. We saw great reviews and we’d had a few people recommend this place. We were very excited but once we got there we were a little disappointed. The staff just did their job but didnt smile or offer a hello. It felt like they didn’t want us there. They were just there to fill their shift. Then when our food came we were further let down. We ordered two beef Benedict’s where the poached eggs on both plates were over cooked. When we cut through the eggs there was no runny yolk at all. It was hard boiled therefore making the dish quite dry. My mum ordered the omelette. Usually omelettes are smooth and lightly cooked and a beautiful yellow however here it was brown, not only around the edges but in the middle as well leaving a hint of bitter burnt flavour throughout the entire meal. A regular home made omelette could’ve been better than that. The one highlight was the mushrooms. I ordered those and that was beautiful. Presented beautifully had a generous portion of mushrooms the flavours were amazing!

been a couple of times now, and  a good place, always seen to straight away to a table. plenty of good cabinet food for the sweet tooth, but i get the miso salmon eggs benedict with the home made hash rosti thing,  good service, and food is great :) not the cheapest place around but get what you pay for

We went here on a Saturday, it was busy but service was still really good. Very good good, great coffee and also a very cool place - great for the area!

Stumbled upon this place and the atmosphere was lovely. Staff were friendly and attentive, quickly getting us menus, water and asking for our drinks choice. <br/>I chose scrambled eggs on midnight baker loaf, with avo and bacon. It was a rather pricey breakfast ($30 - I also had peppermint tea) but the eggs were cooked exactly how I like them, and the food came quickly. Would’ve preferred streaky bacon but it was still delish!! <br/><br/>Cabinet food looked devine - would love to try a donut! <br/><br/>4/5 - standard breakfast options, but done well, however looses a star due to price. ($8 for bacon...?!)
Charissa
Love the interiors and cabinet display but some of the food we ordered was a tad cold. Presentation was excellent. Give it a try and see what you think

Have been here a number of times in the last year. Service has dropped significantly since the change of ownership. It looks a lot like the staff are deeply unhappy and really don't want to be at work.<br/>On the last few visits, wait time has been extremely long despite it not being busy. Basics have been missed, like taking a food order and not asking if we'd like coffees, no water provided, no salt/pepper/condiments offered, and I don't think I've seen a smile in several visits between the whole team.<br/>These are normal expectations in any Cafe. Saddening to see such a decline in a venue that once had both fantastic food and service.
Sian
Rosebank Coffee & Kitchen was reasonably busy when we turned up but still had space at the high tables. I had the gnocchi and miso cured salmon. Both were tasty and rich although the gnocchi was a little softer than I expected. Coffee was good and the potato cheeks are delicious
Foodie
Great food. Amazing taste. Not enough parking spots and difficult time reversing. <br/>A little on the pricy side for food. <br/>However, beautiful interior and yummy food.
Ethan Liaw
Been here several times just to pick up the odd desert and coffee but first time diner today. It was great and would have to say it’s the best cafe in Avondale!<br/>Egg bene was well worth it, and so was the open steak sandwich. Must get side dish would be the potato skin! The food here gave a fresh touch to your normal branch menu, and I will def be back for more! <br/><br/>Instagram worthy 4/5<br/>Service 5/5<br/>Food 5/5

There's a wee little gem tucked in and around all the industrial workshops and factories of Rosebank road, it's called Rosebank Kitchen.<br/><br/>A diamond among all the cheap run bakeries, pie shops, Subways and Pita Pits of the area.  A chic and modern looking outfit which acts as quite the oasis on cold, wintry days when the thought of downing another 6 inch Meatball subway sandwich does not excite.<br/><br/>The lunch menu is small, too small IMO.  I like a focused menu, but the lunch menu here feels like an afterthought.  If you're not interested in eating breakfast for lunch, you have 4 options.  A plate of veges, Gnocchi, Chicken Salad and FOD (fish of the day).<br/><br/>I've had the Gnocchi twice, the first time I was blown away by the quality of the dish, the care that had gone into each and every element, it was balanced, it was pillowy, it was sexy.  The second experience was quite different, heavy, unbalanced and much less refined.  It was very clear to me that a different person had cooked the 2 meals, so disappointing.  I did write to the cafe and gave my feedback in comparing the two experiences, I never got a reply, but I do hope the feedback was considered and consistency was the message. <br/><br/>Luckily, if you're not wanting to eat breakfast for lunch and one of the 4 lunch options doesn't excite you, they have cafe styled cabinet food to tempt you.  Today's sampling was the Reuben sandwich with Potato skins on the side.  The Reuben was toasted enough to turn the cheesy insides into molten goodness, the pastrami tender and the sauerkraut offered the perfect rebuttal to the Reuben's richness,<br/><br/>"Bugger me!", I muttered under my breath as I bit in.<br/>Winter doesn't stand a chance against sandwiches like this.
Andrea
I’ve been here twice now. Last year for my 6 year anniversary with my husband and the food was amazing. Found the iced coffee overpriced for what it was though. <br/>But service at the time was great. <br/><br/>I guess the rating of 3 stars is mainly because of the price. For Rosebank/Avondale, it’s a little too pricey for my liking and I don’t think I’ll come back after this second time which is a shame as I’m a local living in Kelston. Obviously not the most expensive suburbs to live either. <br/><br/>Recently came here with my friends on Sunday morning. I didn’t want a big meal so decided to order from the cabinet. The fact that there are no prices displayed made my decision a lot harder. I ordered what I thought was the smallest portioned food on offering which was the salmon bagel. The waitress did ask me if I wanted it toasted and I said yes. When it arrived it wasn’t toasted but at this point the wait was already long enough that I didn’t want to take it back. Although it wasn’t toasted I found the bagel tough and hard to eat. So glad I didn’t get it toasted! I had to cut it up into very little pieces to be able to eat it in a classy manner. It was very bland and wasn’t enough spread as there was none on the other half of the bagel. The cappuccino I got was delicious with the cinnamon in top. Again not sure how much the bagel from the cabinet was but definitely wasn’t worth $15 overall with the coffee included. Please add prices to your cabinet for transparency.
Sarahappleton10844
Nice enough people, but Service was awfully slow and I actually got my coffee after I had finished my breakfast, even though I ordered it as soon as I walked in. Bagel was ok, but $23 for eggs bene with bacon is a complete rip off. 4 croutons of bacon, a couple of undercooked mushrooms and two deep fried potato cakes which were over salted, along with some green pesto. Just keep it simple. Won’t be going back.

Avondale eatery is on the Rise. As is this gem. Came here on Sunday on brunch. We got acknowledged as soon as we walked in. Their menu looked amazing. The cabinet food looked good and the deserts looked good too. I had long black and flat white and I must say their Barista is awesome. Coffee was really good. We ordered Waygu beef sandwich and gnocchi. They were both so delicious. So many components on the plate and it all worked. We ended with some lemon meringue pie and OMG, it was soo good. Highly recommended place to go. If you eat too much, hit up Snap fitness.

Drove past this place a couple of times it looks so promising and refreshing for the industrial area so I thought I will give it a go ! <br/>Ordered coffee on what seemed to be a busy mid morning a customer warned me he had been waiting for 20 minutes for take away coffee and pastry.<br/><br/>I asked gentleman at the counter how long two take away coffees will be and that I don’t want to wait 20 minutes he said customer was exaggerating and will be about 5 minutes.<br/>I waited more than 10 minutes way to long considering they had two baristas at the time .<br/>Finally got my coffee after 12 minutes it was the wrong size not what I had paid for barista argued with me said that’s what I had ordered rolled his eyes and grabbed it ,when I got the right size it was watery cold and tasteless!<br/> Very disappointing!!!!!<br/> Barista was extremely rude ,gentleman at the counter offered refund wasn’t even offered another coffee <br/>Seemed like they just wanted to get rid of me at that point .<br/>Customers outside had been waiting looking frustrated.<br/>Will never return bad coffee and no time management!

Lovely cafe, great service, delicious food and drinks. Also had yummy items from the cabinet we took home. One of the best new cafes out west

What an amazing team! Walked in and was chatted to immediately, I thought my friend who I went with knew the staff working they were so at ease and friendly! Really lovely people, answered all my questions about the plant potions or whatever they were called on the drinks list, the turmeric latte drinks, and even brought over the little bottle of the stuff to let me read. <br/>Really cool vibe, cabinet food looked stunning, delicious fries! Amazing menu! Even have an alcohol license here. Recommend!!

This is a definite must do!Been here a few times with different groups of people and 1 hour easily turns into 2, as you want to try so much more on their menu of food and teas available. It's a sensory delight! The staff are super helpful and the food.....ahhhhhh the food.It gets very busy (and you'll see why) so get in there early. This is one for the bucket list.

Amazing healthy food, great coffee and dessert too! Presentation is so beautiful! And great friendly service! This place is a hidden jewel! Try the Apple pie, it's divine! Definitely going back there!

Amazing food and excellent customer service! <br/>We ordered rosebank bene, the green sauce is very refreshing. And the pouched eggs are just perfect! Staff are very friendly.

This place has got to be one of the best hidden eaterys in West Auckland. <br/>We had a private party there prior to attending the Pleasuredome show and couldn't fault it. <br/>We also tried it for lunch prior and thought " yeah" The service was spot on. Must try the pork rolls, there are pork belly slice inside a bun, stunning. <br/>They also offer an tumeric chicken salad. It's a combination of Cos lettuce, chicken, coconut and orange and lime, this combination just explodes in your mouth.

I’d been here before with my sister and our daughters. Donuts and coffee were delicious and the service was fantastic on a very busy Saturday morning. <br/>Sunday breakfast we decided to go back to try the menu. It was much quieter but the service was still fantastic. The ambience and decor of this place is really clean and inviting. <br/>The food however extremely disappointing unfortunately. <br/>Dukkah eggs. I only ate the eggs which was cooked to my liking but the other things on the plate was OTT too many flavours happening killed my palate. <br/>Rosebank Bene. Same could be said about this dish. Small diced bacon with a slather of green slush and other bits of what normally comes with eggs bene. <br/>The French toast was fanicified but not appealing to the tastebuds. The only dish that looked anything like we ordered was the eggs on toast with a side of salmon. Too many flavours fighting each other and too complicated. <br/>Coffee was amazing though and I’d only go back for that and their equally amazing donuts. Otherwise the rest of the menu was not for us.

Busy busy busy! Great looking cafe. We were just taking out but the food we saw being served around us looked amazing! Definitely coming back!

A bit pricey, which would be totally ok if the portions were slightly bigger. As after a meal you question yourself whether you need another one or not. Anyway, happy that we have such an amazing place in the local area!

Located on the corner of Rosebank and Jomac Road, the carpark entrance is on Jomac Road.<br/><br/>Stopped by for lunch and was fortunate to get a table without booking since it was fairly full. We were warmly greeted at the door and escorted to our table. After a short wait we received menus. Didn't have to wait too long to get our food and drinks ordered. Apart from the menu, they also had food cabinets with goodies like donuts, tarts and truffles.<br/><br/>The hot chocolate was nice. The food was even nicer. I had ordered the lamb special and it was quite special. It looked and smelt quite impressive and the taste was really good. Adding the different components on the plate gave different flavours and textures. The lamb was well season and cooked nicely. We even got some dessert to eat later in the afternoon and it was delicious.<br/><br/>What got me was how well the place was run. Even though it was full, things didn't stand for too long and everything was running quite smoothly. It was easy to just sit back and enjoy the food.

It's heartwarming to see a beautiful kitchen strive in the place I was born & raised; still relatively new yet they've made such an impression and I think it's safe to say that their masterful presentation is a big part of the reason why. The floor-to-ceiling windows, the exposed beams & varnished concrete floors, reminiscent of the surrounding industrial park; yet the oak decor, the marble counter & cool-coloured ceramics will make you forget just exactly where you are. The prices are a little steep if I'm honest but as the food came out I couldn't help but appreciate just how well the meal was presented, it was as if I was consuming an edible piece of fine art. My photo doesn’t do it justice. One of my top 5 breakfast spots for sure.

The presentation of this restaurant is what makes it so unique and amazing. The staff are accomodating and friendly and treat you very well. The actual food is exceptional but I can't stress enough on how cool and aesthetic the presentation of food is. I ordered the beetroot greens salad and they made it look so tasty.

Well had to try this place ... easy to get to great location really as it's not hard to get a carpark! Just unexpected location....<br/>Nice big new cafe with nice vibe. Friendly great service.<br/><br/>Ordered:<br/>Eggs bene<br/>Poached eggs with bacon & potato skins<br/>Scrambled eggs with salmon & mushrooms<br/><br/>Well the presentation of the food was great.. eggs poached perfectly, crispy skins delicious, bacon slab YUM. <br/>And finally another place where they give you butter for your toast. <br/>Definitely will be back here...

Food is really different and nice but service rather lacking - have visited a few times in the hope of getting to like a local cafe but staff are just rather rude!

What an asset to Rosebank, finally a fist class kitchen that does great coffee and food to die for, have been a few times now and is now a regular stop. You guys rock!!!

I'll be the first to admit I'm a fussy bugger when it comes to my weekend coffee and breakfast. We decided to give these guys a go and went out of our way and weren't disappointed. Best breakfast I've had in Auckland for ages. Stylish interior, impeccable service, excellent coffee and amazing food.

I was eagerly waiting for my day off so I can try out a new cafe across from where I live. My partner and I decided to have a nice brunch on a saturday. The place appeared to be "the talk of the town" and was packed with customers when we arrived. We had 1 couple who came before us and were waiting outside. When we arrived a staff member greeted us and asked if we would be dining in. We said yes and he walked off...we assumed he was going to put us on a waiting list. We didn't hear back from him. My partner and I stumbled to the counter asking where we should wait to be served. The lady at the counter said outside. We then stumbled back outside and waited for about 30mins in the rain. NO ONE acknowledged us. A group of girls came after us and were served immediately. My partner and I left very angry and disappointed. We decided a few weeks later we would come back on my birthday, which falls on a weekday and maybe it wont be too busy. Arrived her again for brunch. We were greeted almost immediately and were presented with a odd menu. I knew my partner would have trouble ordering something he will enjoy. He had some eggs and I had the bread gnocci (curious to know what it was). The waiter arrived 40mins later (there were about 4 other tables occupied) and the dishes came out after what felt like an eternity. The portion was too small and too pricey and we were left hungry afterwards. The flavours were abit off for my pallete. Will not be dining in again in the future. Maybe just grab a quick cake off the cabinet. Can not bear the poor service n limited menu options. On a more positive note: the chocolate cake was delish that we had as a takeaway

Thank god for Rosebank Coffee and Kitchen. This industrial end of Avondale is sadly a bit lacking, but Rosebanks presence makes everything a whole lot better. This cafe has found its feet and hit its stride. i've been coming since they opened, and now the service is running like a well oiled machine, alls AOK here. The Rosebank benedict is so jolly good. Coffee is always hot strong and smooth. Love this place and pop often. Even the decor is beautiful. A big space, but beautifully turned out.
Sam Farr
Had breakfast here and it was great. Was very busy and obviously very popular but service was friendly and prompt. Food was excellent, hard to imagine how they turn a profit with such quality ingredients. <br/><br/>I recommend you try the eggs benedict, a creative take on a sometimes boring classic.

one of our favourite cafe as of October 2017! Incredibly put together . Only if I could show photos of the inside. Decor is very modern. Everything has a lot of detail including the food. Amazing place to try out in west auckland.lot of cabinet selection.Price wise is bit on high side but i wont mind.

Really nice little cafe! The service was brilliant and the food came out quickly! The meals were very well thought out and tasted amazing! would highly recommend!

This place is abit more upscale compared to your typical cafe. Came here weekend just gone. Don't know how its positioned in such an odd place but its def worth the visit. <br/><br/>THE FOOD<br/><br/>Omlete (3.5/5) - Loved the omlete and the sauce inside of it. The meat was cut on top and worked peferctly in unison. I think what would've taken it to the next level would've been some cheese ;) <br/><br/>Eggs Benidict (4/5) - My flatmate had this one. He loved it alot more. He also loved that the bacom was chopped so you wouldnt have <br/><br/>Potato Skins (4.5/5) - So apparently this is actually a common dish but was rather new to me. My flattie explained to me its usually disappointing. I took the risk and ordered anyway....soooo goood. Was crunchy and well seasoned. <br/><br/>THE ENVIRONMENT (5/4)<br/>Definitely a a chill place. The decor was quite trendy and usb plugs readily availible. Very spacious yet warn (it was rainy that day). <br/><br/>THE SERVICE (3.5) <br/>So the only fault I have here was that our waitress was really attentitive but then I believe here supervisor sent her on a break leaving us with no one assigned to tale our order. Otger tgen that the stafd were very well versed in every meal item and very responsive and feiendly. Without that little hiccup i wouldve rated it 5/5 for service. <br/><br/>WAS IT WORTH IT? <br/>The prices are a little step but worth the treat. Happg customer here.
Morganp
Really friendly staff and homey decor. Service was really fast and the food was amazing. Great attention to detail with the food and coffee.

I love RBC+K<br/>The staff is great, the cabinet selection is tasty and not too expensive. If you want to treat yourself, the menu is delicious and worth every penny. <br/>Avondale was in dyer need of a great cafe and this spacious and delicious place really hit the spot.

1 of the best coffees I have had in a long time! Great service well looked after and the bene was delicious. I will definitely be back. Thanks team
Stephy_NakiGirl
Nice local cafe with nothing else of a similar standard around - great to have it in the area.<br/>Nice indoor/outdoor flow on a corner site, and plenty of parking on the road if the carpark is full.<br/>Small but varied menu with beautifully plated dishes. The avocado was off the menu being out of season so the gnocchi was recommended. The best eggs I have tried in relation to perfect poaching. All items well balanced although the crumb was a bit salty. Added a side of slab bacon. Coffee was very well made. The pork is also a really good choice. Eggs bene was again a little on the salty side.<br/>Service was the manager was awesome - friendly welcoming & engaging. Other service friendly but a little slow to take orders & deliver coffee - think there were a few new people on. <br/>Overall a good experience so will be back

Exactly what this area needed: great food and coffee. Love the atmosphere and delicious breakfast. Modern style food that is well worth the price. Almond milk available.
Danielle Thomson
Great service - chirpy, fun, very attentive but without being annoying. The fitout was cool, reminded me of being in a hipster Melbourne cafe. Menu looked exciting although I would have liked some smoothie options in there. My friend and I both tried the avocado meal with eggs added. Portion size was very small for what you paid for. If we hadn't added the egg, we would have needed a second brunch! Presentation was a bit odd and the meal itself tasted too complicated and confused - too many flavours going on and some not working so well. A shame as it sounded so good on the menu. We shared the coffee cake which was nice. Overall - nice enough but not nice enough to return!

Updated review: My first review of this place was in March 2017. I have been back since and What a difference! Service was excellent. Ordered the Eggs Bene with hash brown, salmon & chimichurri. Simply delicious. Coffee was good. It’s great to FINALLY have a great cafe in our neighbourhood. <br/><br/>***** March 2017 *****<br/>As a local, I had to try out a welcome addition to the neighbourhood. The cafe is a beautiful open space, really well appointed. The cabinet food looked delicious. We walked in & it wasn't too busy. The coffee was ok. I ordered the French toast. While the presentation was impressive, it was style over substance, there was a small amount of sauce & that made the French toast taste very dry. If it had a bit more syrup, it would've been great. My friend enjoyed her "Bene". What really ruined the experience was the service, or lack thereof. The cafe was nowhere near full. It took some time before our orders were taken & even longer for our food to come out. Two male staff seemed to stay behind the counter while one waitress seemed to do everything along with the barista. I hope for their own sake, & those of us locals who love good food & supporting local business, that the service starts matching the quality of what comes out of that kitchen.

37 1/2 bucks for a matchbox size bit of trevally and a salad. What the hell? These guys have lost the plot. Not a bad place in terms of decor and food quality - but this price is ridiculous gouging! If you dare risk your wallet, check the price on the "specials" before you order. I guess I'll just save some money and head into Clooneys, French Cafe, The Grove or some other genuinely five star joint.
Abbey Lissaman
Nice meal at a rather upmarket cafe for the area. Plenty of parking, spacious restaurant with lots of seating. Menu was small, and could do with the addition of a salad or two, but there was cabinet foods as well. The seafood boullibaise risotto, the cheesy mushroom omelette, the eye fillet steak and the avocado poached eggs were all lovely. No issues with the food except that it took a little longer than we would have expected. All the dishes looked beautiful and we could tell there was effort put into presentation. Our lunches were followed by a piece of one of their many delicious looking (and tasting!) cakes and slices. Great selection of teas, really good coffee. Clean plates all round - a sign of a good meal! Will be back here again.

An absolute jewel in the middle of nowhere. This place is fine dining at Cafe prices.<br/>Excellent service, excellent food, and the presentation is fantastic.

Food: very nice as well as presentation <br/>Price: extremely reasonable prices considering for what you get <br/>And over the environment is also really good.

This new place in Avondale is all style and little substance. Two of us arrived mid-week for a mid morning coffee and cake and left disappointed. The selection of cakes and sweets were good, but with inflated prices for the area.<br/>In a cafe 1/4 full we were told where to sit by a surly cashier, who I presume was management by his demeanour.  Our cakes arrived swiftly but we then watched as people who arrived after us were served coffee and the barista cleared tables before even starting our beverages. I feel like places that take their coffee seriously should treat their baristas with the respect they deserve and their one and only task should be to make excellent coffee for waiting customers.<br/>When a larger group arrived for lunch they were whisked to a table where they were fawned over by staff obviously eager to get a slice of their pay cheques. Hospitality as a concept should extend to all customers and a professional attitude should prevail, regardless of how much you spend on a fit-out.<br/>Overall the food was decent, the attitude was not.

We’ll admit it, when it comes to gastronomy of epic proportions, Avondale ain’t the first places to pop up in our heads (aside from Woodworks, which we admit is pretty magical). Rosebank Coffee & Kitchen blew our biased judgements out of the water with first-class interiors, mouth-watering textures and the best potato skins you’ve ever had in your life. You won’t find any teething problems in this new opening, as the seasoned staff comes from foodie corners like Farina, Ostro and Little & Friday, no wonder everything’s top notch. We particularly appreciated the creamy scampi with a dark caramel nut-butter vinaigrette, the time taken to perfectly plate each meal and our waitress taking the time to explain the best way to brew organic rose tea at the table. <br/><br/>There’s also an elevated area available for parties up to 15 people, if you’re reading this, book a reservation now and invite us please?<br/><br/>Check out our individual comments here: husk.co.nz/lunches/rosebank-kitchen

Top service, friendly staff and good vibes. We had the lamb, potatoes, scrambled eggs and the omelette. The coffee here is great too would definitely return and recommend to others. Yummy !

Completely ignored at the till when trying to order food. Called out excuse me twice. Two men behind the bar made eye contact with me, chose not to acknowledge me, finished what they were doing before coming over. Why are people like this in the service industry? Its so unwelcoming and makes such a difference.

I came here for lunch the other day and it is now one of my favourite cafes. Industrial, trendy vibe, and incredible food with fresh, quality ingredients. The service was some of the best I've experienced too, we were seated promptly and all staff members were so friendly and personable. <br/><br/>We ordered the avocado with goats feta and bread gnocchi with mushrooms. Each dish was beautifully presented, the type of calibre you would find in Ponsonby, viaduct or Britomart. The flavours, textures, everything worked so well together and was truly unique and different. <br/><br/>Non-pretentious cafe serving amazing food, highly recommend!

So good to see a place like this in the Rosebank areas, where you basically can only find average bakeries with low quality pies. <br/><br/>Menu has good options, coffee is nice, and you can also takeway some cabinets savouries and sweets so you don't have to get your snack from the next Gull Station.<br/><br/>I tried the slow cooked pork bun and it was *amazing*, probably one of the best I've ever tried in my life.<br/><br/>This is probably the restaurant a lot of people who works nearby was craving for. Don't expect it to be cheap, but quality comes to a price.

This a sparkling new and well designed cafe. I expected it to be noisy inside because of the expanses of concrete and glass but it was surprisingly muted, despite being quite full. The high ceiling must help disperse noise, and perhaps they have some really good acoustic dampening in the ceiling.<br/>The food was excellent. Breakfast options were relatively limited but there was a mix of the expected - eggs and toast; French toast - and the unusual, such as the bread gnocchi. I had the French toast as my daughter wanted to try that but also have scrambled eggs on toast. The French toast was good but, I think, a bit over the top for a breakfast option, with the array of various crumbs, sauces and pastes on the (slate) plate.<br/>We ordered a couple of sides as well (don't judge - my partner was there as well!) and this is where the cafe earned some big brownie points. We had the hash browns with spiced apple incorporated into the mix - very tasty - and some outstanding asparagus with buttery breadcrumbs.<br/>The coffee was very good, they provided free sparkling water to the table, and service was personal and speedy. We will be returning soon.

This is not a budget café. You will<br/>pay city prices. But you get what you pay for. The décor is glass, steel, wood,<br/>and concrete; spacious with that fresh feel you get from running water and<br/>plants (though I don’t actually recall any). The staff are friendly and<br/>welcoming, and even at their busiest serve you promptly. The menu is<br/>uncluttered, ordered into am and pm with well thought out dishes and a<br/>selection of sides to make the meal you want. The food is an event for your<br/>mouth. The only time I have been disappointed, I was in a hurry and grabbed a<br/>coffee and one of those brioches you seem to be able to get at any café. It was<br/>dry and possibly stale and I binned it. I suggest trying something you don’t<br/>recognise, something made on the premises, you will be rewarded. I am so glad Avondale has a kitchen of this<br/>quality now.<br/>I have been meaning to update this review for ages. The bulk standard brioche thing was very temporary. Everything in the counter cabinet is now as awesome as the rest of their food.

The atmosphere is great, the customer service is excellent and the coffee is delicious. It is confusing not having any visible menu and the one that was in place looked like a napkin so it blended in. I originally came to have lunch but couldn't find the menu so grabbed a coffee instead. I can't wait to see what the new menu looks like and I really hope this place takes off because it's so close to work that I can see us holding many staff meetings there.

Greeted the moment we walked in the door and immediately seated. My latte was great, and our food came out very quickly despite the cafe being almost full. I had the omelette which was very filling but lovely and flavoursome. My friend got the bread gnocchi and eggs - the gnocchi was a huge hit and definitely the highlight of both meals. Service was fantastic, and I loved that they had sparkling water! Only lost half a mark for only having 5 brunch options (good for indecisive people though)!

There are no words for how epically well done this amazing little food haven has been done! Great vibe, super happy service and the food is to die for! Right in the middle of suburbia is a piece of the food life with sweet eats!! The decor is so chic and cool, the atmosphere is so relaxed! I can't wait to come back! Ten points team awesome

I really wanted to love this place having lived in avondale for the last 5 years with limited local options (especially since woodworks burnt down). Unfortunately for us this was a miss. Starting with the good things, we were greeted nicely and offered coffee and water straight away and provided a high chair for our little one. Coffee was nice and strong and well made. Decor was awesome. We really liked the feel of the place. Unfortunately the food didn't match the service and decor. We found the menu really limited for breakfast with only 5 items. Personally I can't see how any cafe anywhere can charge $18 for bacon and eggs. If I'm gonna pay $18 it better be something I can't easily replicate at home. Bacon and eggs I can cook all day everyday and is just not worthy of and $18 price tag. Anyway regardless of this little rant, we both ordered the breaded gnocchi but didn't really know what to expect. It was very well presented but the flavour was just a bit weird to be honest. The sauce the mushrooms were cooked in was bitter we both didn't enjoy it. It was also very small for $19.5 and I was still hungry when I left. For this cafe to succeed long term they need to include some staple favourites, increase the portion sizes and get the flavour balance right if being adventurous with the menu.

We went yesterday at Rosebank Coffee and Kitchen and well, we will definitely come back very soon. We live in the city and heard about this new place in Avondale. The cafe decoration is beautiful. Large windows everywhere, industrial materials, cost at the same time. Carlos, one of the partners, is very friendly and make you feel comfortable. Their menu is very interesting at first sight. It's not like very cafe around the corner. If you feel having an eggs Benedict.. NO ! They succeeded to serve great food in a cafe at a very affordable price. We had Lamp Rumo and Crab and we are our plates in 2 minutes. That was DIVINE !!!! The plates were very well presented (gastronomic almost) and tasted great. We had two glasses of wine and an apple pie for dessert (very good too). If you are after something quick to eat they also have a cabinet food with sandwiches, pies and other sweet treats. I DEFINITELY recommend this place and I'd rather drive for 10' from the city and have an amazing food than just get a poor eggs on toast around my corner. Thanks team at Rosebank coffee and kitchen. You made my day !!

My partner and I went to Rosebank Coffee and Kitchen after reading a couple of excellent comments on social media sites. Unfortunately the experience didn't quite measure up to the hype. I'll start with the positives. The Cafe itself is tastefully decorated with a modern industrial feel and the tables are carefully spaced to ensure that there is none of that uncomfortable feeling of being too close to fellow diners. The counter cabinet displays its range of cakes admirably and serves it's purpose by tempting the taste buds. The coffee was smooth and exactly to my taste...no burnt or bitter after-taste. My partner ordered an Asian style pork bun which he enjoyed, however felt was a little too pricey for the size. He was still hungry after he had finished eating it. My French toast was beautifully presented and tasty; however was more like a desert than a breakfast dish. A real grilled banana would have been preferable to the artsy banana-paste which was included in the meal. Now for the negatives... We asked two different staff members for clarification about an item on the menu ( bread gnocchi), however both had no idea how it was made or what it was made from and suggested bringing over a different staff member to explain. Perhaps this is because the Cafe has different staff for making coffee, waiting, counter staff etc. I feel that if a staff member comes to my table to deliver water, coffee or cutlery they should be familiar with the menu to avoid time wasting ( theirs or mine! ) Hopefully some of these issues will be ironed out, because it's a great physical environment to eat in and the food coming out to tables around us generally looked excellent. A staff member mentioned that outdoor seating may be on the cards for summer...a good idea.

A great new opening in the industrial area of Auckland, Rosebank and it wasn't a miss. Place was packed on Saturday morning (they will be open Sundays soon) and it was worth a drive from other side, so don't let it let you down and just go.<br/><br/>Menu is not as big for breakfast options but got something to choose from and also lunch has got many more offerings.<br/><br/>Great coffee and service. Very friendly team and all smiling. French toasts were amazing and unusually made with banana caramel and other ingredients that just match like milky chocolates on top - yummy! Gnocchi with eggs were great as well and very tasty!<br/><br/>Highly recommend to try it out and see what could be found in industrial areas of this beautiful city!

This is a very smart new cafe with a limited (but tasty!) menu and a cabinet that is simply a work of art.<br/><br/>We visited on Saturday morning and the place was packed. The staff were buzzing - all very cheerful and helpful and quick to take our order - almost TOO quick, as our coffee order wasn't quite right (a latte instead of the requested mocha).<br/><br/>The biggest downside for me was that there was apparently only one highchair for the whole cafe, so we ate with our one-year-old on our knees. Given how many families with young children I saw (I had to laugh when I saw four separate daddy-and-toddler pairs exploring the wee lawn outside!) I'm sure they'll need to buy more to keep the weekend crowd happy.<br/><br/>We kept our breakfast order simple. My husband got scrambled eggs and toast, which was tasty but he would have liked more than one piece of toast. I'm not keen on eggs, so was disappointed that the only non-egg item on the breakfast menu was granola. I would have liked a hot breakfast option! I ended up getting a couple of sides instead. The bacon was a really thick and tasty piece - almost ham steak sized. I also got the german hash, which I LOVED. It's soft inside but golden and crunchy on the outside and comes with an apple sauce which shouldn't work but does. Definitely a re-order for me!<br/><br/>I couldn't resist a sweet from the cabinet and got something to take away. It was really, really, REALLY hard to make a decision - they have an excellent and beautiful selection! I ended up with a s'more. It's a chocolate tart piled high with goopy, sweet marshmallow and decorated with chocolate and caramelized hazelnuts. The marshmallow would be too sweet if it weren't for the fact that the chocolate is bitter (almost, but not quite, burnt tasting) so the whole thing worked together really well. Very decadent, but not too rich to enjoy to the last bite.<br/><br/>The ambience is modern. It's almost an industrial space, very open and clean-feeling, with lots of plants and touches of wood to keep it friendly. As I mentioned above it's not terribly family-friendly, but I hope this changes. A few highchairs would be all they need. There's space outside to run around and since they're next-door to Jump I'm sure they're going to have a few young customers.
