Review Saigonz - Auckland Central

Good place where to eat. Friendly staff, very welcoming. Good choice of food and it is delicious. Quick service. One of the 50 cheap places in Auckland. Not so far from Queens Street what is handy.

Ordered a beef pho( beef noodle soup), it tasted so good, just like an authentic Vietnamese meal that I had in Vietnam. The restaurant is clean the price is reasonable. They also serve food quickly even though it’s busy hours during lunch time. Great value for the money. Definitely would recommended.

Service was good. Pho was not too bad, I liked the slight acidity and freshness it provides. The vegetarian spring rolls were disappointing, it was soggy and “old” as it’s not fried per order.

Yum yum yummy noodle soup in town.. Me n husband bought beef soup and seafood noodle soup, both are so yummy.. The broth, you can really taste it perfectly.. I have been to few places for Vietnam cuisine but this Saigoinz is the best (so far) Also, the price only $13/noodle soup which is very cheap in compare with some others places that I have been visit. Location is easy to find, right in the centre, they have lots of dining table, so no need to worry could not found a seat.. :-) Really recommended!! PS, since then we became regular costumer here.. :-)

Only a quick stop here but it's been good so far. Definitely willing to come back here on a much quieter night. But the Bahn Xeo was bomb!! The Bahn mi was a bit carrot heavy, could improve, was also hoping for a much cripsier bread and heavier pate n mayo, but that's just my personal preference. All in all the service was great!

Saigonz in the CBD was the perfect pre-concert dinner spot for a quick, delicious supper. Despite being normally super busy during concert nights at Spark Arena, we were still able to get a table and enjoy beautiful Vietnamese. I simply love the fresh summer rolls and lemongrass chicken. Highly recommended!

Excellent service and nice dishes. Very nice green tinged interior. Nice.
Yuki D
I like the beef noodle soup very much. Big sliced beef, tasty soup. Yummy.
Vera Williams
Beautiful food! Beef Pho and spring rolls were delicious. Lovely family restaurant with great service and very clean and comfy interior. Look forward to coming and trying everything on the menu. Which is also dead cheap too! Highly recommend.
Nick Mckenzie
Good value. Pho was great - I cannot speak to authenticity but beef was tender, fresh veg and a broth packed with flavor.

Boy oh boy this is our FAVOURITE Vietnamese street food. I’ve been coming here since 2013 and nothing has changed ! (Except for employees and price rise but hae, inflation) You should definitely go for seafood noodle soup and ask for chilli. Lemon grass pork is amazing too. Fresh summer rolls are our staple. I’m so glad lockdown is over and we got to enjoy this today ☺️ thank you Saigonz !

best vietnamese restaurant in auckland

Food very good for its price point! Will keep coming again, although they should use glass bowls and plates instead of plastic and use metal cutlery. May be a big ask for all the washing to be done but necessary.

I came here with my friends for a casual catch up dinner on a Friday night. First of all, Saigonz is pretty small so it doesn't really cater towards larger groups, luckily, we only had 6 people so we could still squeeze onto the table. The service was good and the food came out really quickly, within a few minutes of ordering so that was great!

I requested my raw beef pho to be extra hot and the chilli was a great addition to the pho. Do be careful because their chilli can get quite spicy but I could still handle it (the perfect spice level in fact). The pho was pretty delicious and it had a lot of bean sprouts in it, which I really love. However, for $15, I did expect a larger portion as other Vietnamese restaurants charge around $15 or less for a larger bowl of pho.

The main reason why I gave Saigonz three stars is because of the amount of plastic used while dining here. I understand it could be cheaper to buy plastic in bulk to use as opposed to getting reusable bowls and washing it. However, it just got kind of ridiculous as everything was served on plastic... even if you were dining in. It just seemed wasteful to me and extremely bad for the environment.

While the food and service were great, I'd definitely be prepared to give Saigonz a higher rating if they were to ditch the plastic cutlery and bowls and switch to a more environmentally friendly alternative.

Love getting my pho fix here. Friendly customer service and they’re ever so willing to listen to my requests of extra bean sprouts and chilli!

Rare beef pho was amazing. Rare beef was melting in the mouth and the soup was warm and authentic vietnamese. They give extra noodle and still cheaper then other restaurants.
Asianfoodie
Always enjoyed the food here. It's really nice for a quick meal when you're on a lunch break. Highly recommend the chicken noodles. Gave it three stars because I am unsure about the hygiene :(
Epicure
I have ordered chicken summer rolls and received 3 cold rice paper rolls and they were so bland and not even salty. Dish was cold and was not even properly explained in the menu.
Veronica Te
Really inexpensive food, speedy service and friendly. Food is pretty authentic tasting. My pork rice rolls had more fat than it did meat but I suppose some like that.
Alice In New Zealand
It was great have noodles in rainy day:) quiet busy here. Staff were kind and fast:) i love noodles :) but the table was not clean as i have to wipe some food ..

I usually go in for dinner to have pho but this time I went in for a quick lunch and as i wasn't feeling very hungry I just got their prepacked prawn and pork fresh rolls. The rice paper wrapping was a little bit dry but the prawn and vegetables inside tasted fresh and full of flavour. The brown sauce that comes with the rolls makes up for the dryness anyway. There are three in a pack and it is definitely filling. I also recommend their rare beef pho, it's not as big as other vietnamese noodle places but it tastes clean and good quality.
Caroline Botting
Food tasted just fine, it was the plastic containers used to serve it in that was the issue. Surely there's a better way that using one off black troughs to present your food?
Medium_Rare
We were originally planning on having Yum Cha but a group decision changed those plans much to my horror and disgust. All of us ordered the pho and to be honest the broth wasn’t too bad. It had a nice flavor although quite a few of us were astonished that they choose to use plastic containers for our meals. We were dining in so in terms of the environment I would implore Saigon to change this method. Obviously I wouldn’t know the full story but I thought it’ll be important to point out.

Back to the meal, pho for 12$ is quite hard to beat so if you live in this area of the CBD and are craving for some pho Saigon isn’t a bad choice.

Showstopper: Broth was decent.

Overall Grade: B
Little Borneo Girl
Great location while having a quick meal before the concert. Fast food concept with food in takeaway containers. We ordered a lemon grass beef and curry chicken which was tasty but was fully loaded with chunks of potatoes. It’s ok for a quick meal. Prices were reasonable too.
Miji
Their beef pho is probably one of the best in the area (generous slices of meat; clear not-salty broth; good ratio of noodles and toppings). Their summer rolls are so fresh and delicious. The only downside is they serve their food in plastic containers for dine-ins too. 4.5/5.
Darren Big Belly
I mean, it was a quick dinner for us on the way to spark arena. But I didn’t expect a place with a perfect location for foot traffic to have such sub par food.
Pho was bland. Banh mi ratio was way off.
Only good thing was the spring rolls and it’s hard to go wrong with that.
Jason1202
Food is fine, but just like other reviewers comments, ridiculous amount of plastics serving the food. It is time for them to use actual plates and cutlery. Probably water bill is way more expensiver than just simply purchasing the plastics.
Sonia Son
Didn't expect too much but the price was very good compared to the amount of food you get and it was delicious :) I added extra corriander for no extra cost.
Yuko Saito
I used to go get spring rolls or dry noodles, but compared to other Vietnamese restaurant, it’s quite bland. But kind of went there out of convenience, not for taste. Not much coriander or fish sauce taste, and overall lacking in any flavour.
Foodie
Great food here.
However I’m not a huge fan of lemon grass.
Otherwise everything was great. Super quick and friendly service. 👍🏻
Super affordable too 💶
Rohit
Group of us went here for a late dinner. Ordered the chicken fried noodles, beef pho, beef fried rice. Flavours are ok, a little bland and dry for me. It just looked like the dish was made by putting pre cooked ingredients in the box.
Gemma-lee Grey
So much unnecessary plastic is used there, it was disturbing! They should really consider using actual plates and cutlery. Even the sauce on the side came in a plastic container. Food was average. Service was good.
Becstasy
great cheap eats. love the side salad amd noodles, now i cannot go past without the spring rolls! delicious with generous portions and easy on the pocket
Eric Anderson
Food is average. The use of a microwave is a little disturbing. If you're looking for a cheapish Vietnamese feed then this may be an option for you, but if you seek an authentic dining experience, this is going to disappoint.

I work next to saigonz and this used to be one of my favorite places to have pho. Recently i bought 3 beef phos during a month and they all had stringy beef.. i keep reminding myself to ask next time for ‘NO STRINGY FATTY BEEF!’ But i keep foegetting and i keep getting chewy stringy beef. Totally ruins my appetite and feel like ive wasted $12 only to have my jaws hurt and having to spit the beef out because i cannot chew it.. one stringy beef is acceptable but to have all beef pieces to be chewy and fatty and strongy.. is just unacceptable.
Arun Kumar
Went there to try the Vietnamese sandwich bahn mi. Wasn't disappointed for the price and the taste. Has an outdoor seating so it was good to catch up with friends and have a chat while getting some calories in !

Great location, fast service but.. why they serve the diners with plastic containers and cutlery? The Lemongrass pork on dried noodles was tasty and nice. Keen to try the other food in the menu next time.
Hungusmcfatty
Quick, easy pho on the go. Literally - all their items are packaged to go even if you’re dining in. And no it’s not biodegradable and there’s only hoping that they recycle out the back. When they ask you if you want chili on your pho, ask yourself whether you’re prepared for something as hot as balls because their chili is straight fire and makes sriracha taste like chutney.
Alexandra De Guzman
Went to have dinner with at Saigonz before the Cirque Du Soleil Turok show. I had the rare beef pho, I was surprised to find that the serving size was on the smaller side, but that wasn't a big issue. What shocked me more was that all of the bowls and plates and cutlery were all disposable plastics - Saigonz must make produce a lot of rubbish? 🤔
Haden
I actually enjoyed the food here, it was tasty and cheap but I am really annoyed at the ridiculous amount of plastic they use when serving food. Even when you eat there it comes in plastic containers, plastic forks, plastic knives, plastic spoons. Same with the sauce on the side, it's in (you guessed it) plastic!

I won't go again until they start using real plates.
Nicky
We had lunch here today and were really disappointed. Had heard they did the best banhxeo pancake so ordered the pork and prawn which wasn't great. I ordered the summer rolls which were terribly bland. And the chicken salad which was ok, small. The summer rolls had heaps of noodles and hardly any chicken or veges and no flavour.

The thing I really disliked was that everything was served out of plastic containers/bowls. Even though I was dining In, I was given my dishes in plastic take away containers and had to eat with plastic cutlery . When the pancake came out of the kitchen it was in a takeaway container too.

Please, please can this restaurant consider the environment?! See the photo below of the amount of plastic just the two of us used.

Ani M
Really great, fab location, sunshine, fresh healthy, nice staff & clientele.... but.... bit sad at the amount of plastic the use. Plastic knives, spoons, forks, bowls, dressing cups, & lids. In this day & age that is just irresponsible. I urge them to please find a biodegradable product. The chopsticks were wood & wrapped in paper. Ka pai.
Roro Li
Was extremely disappointed by their beef pho. The beef they used was roast beef variety and the rice noodles were a little tough. But the addition of chilli, the wedge of lemon and sriracha made it taste a little better. Since I am not close to the area, I would not go back again for a while. However if I were to, I would not buy their pho but will try their other dishes. Yes, I should have expected that this pho could not come close to the same flavours you get if you visited Melbourne. Still, I had hope.

I am writing this review based on the convenience of takeaway food. Saigonz is one of the few vietnamese places that offer a range of reasonably priced lunches. I've had Lemon grass chicken which I found a bit too sweet, Pork summer roll is one of a must try and also a warm bowl of Pho has been a great pleasure to eat in the winter or during a hangover. Saigonz also operates a food trailer in Sunday market Takapuna which offers the same menu items and are always packed with people during brunch rush. This place will postpone your sudden crave for vietnamese food.
Fiona Holden
We literally came here purely because of the location and close to the Vector arena. We were a table of 4. Portion sizes were inconsistent as the salad was SO tiny, that guy that ordered it was hungry for the rest of the night. The other dishes were good sizes. The beef in the Pho was a tad over cooked. I didn't mind my chicken being a bit over cooked as I'd rather that than under. Service was average.
ShoRt
If you are looking for a quick Asian feed (perhaps before a concert?) this could be your place! It has all the Vietnamese dishes and they are served super quick! The flavours are not the most spectacular but it hit my noodle soup spot and it cured my hunger.

Lemon Grass beef is to die for must try if your visiting this place. Restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere service was sooo prompt will definitely recommend to everyone.

Awesome Vietnamese food for those working in the city. Usually i do a phone order and my meal is ready within 10 minutes.

The Lemon Grass Beef is a must try for those who choose to eat a bit on the healthy side. Super delicious and a good portion of Beef. I usually swap out the noodles for extra salad.

The lemongrass dressing is zingy and delicious.

Outstanding food quality
Prawn Ban Xio was amazing.
I loved the Lemongrass chicken curry as well as it was spiced right and was a great value for money portion.
I tried the chicken fried rice full of flavor and good quantity
We had a take away but next time would love to dine there

Ordered takeaways, always call in advance as they can be quite slow. Beef & chicken noodles soup $12, can be made spicy (beware chilli is def super hot), pork spring rolls and prawn fresh rolls $8 for 3. Food is fresh, tasty and non-greasy. Price is quite reasonable too. Note mint is not included, that's from our garden as we find it quite refreshing to add the the fresh rolls.
Ron Goh
My favorite place for lunch takeaway. I usually order lemongrass chicken on rice the chicken is full of flavor. Love their chicken noodles soup too. Lovely staff. Good value and generous portion.

located on a very exposed corner site on Beach road, i only tried the pho and is okay and well presented but serve in plastic bowls/trays to keep price down i take it. Place has a canteen/street stall like atmosphere including outdoor seating, Pho was orginally a street stall dish.
Not the kind of place driving to and park outside, good for a quickie feed during yer smoko if yer nearby
Josh Law
This is a great little Vietnamese place on Beach Road. For lunchtime, they do a range of delicious little lunched. I wouldn't have the curry as it's not the best here
But everything else is excellent. Make sure you cover everything in Siracha to give it a bit of a kick.
Claudia
Best pho in Auckland. There are so many flavours, zingy, spicy, earthy, and sweet. I love their pho so much and it is so greatly priced!! I love the amount of coriander they pile on and the chilly adds a great kick. Lemon always freshens everything up and the bean sprouts are always so fresh and crispy. Ive never had pho this fresh and tasty anywhere else. Definitely returning again and again and again.
Misty
The noodles at Saigonz are served in disposable plastic bowls, which made it feel more like a foodcourt meal rather than a restaurant. The rice paper rolls are also pre-made and pre-packaged in plastic containers, ready for purchase. This wasn't a let down, as the food still tasted good. I guess they have heavy foot traffic where they are located so they need to be super fast and efficient?
Hannah Gear
I have been here many times for lunch and I love their food. The flavours are great, service is quick and staff are friendly. My favorite is the lemon grass pork with noodles. Everything is fresh and delicious.
Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thao
Food here is not so special and the taste is not really Vietnamese. My friend and I order beef noodle soup and seafood noodle soup but the taste is quite the same. Pho did not have smells of special spices for Pho. I can even feel the smell of dried noodle.
Jasmine Chai
Mum and I came here for lunch as we were craving some healthy vietnamese food. Their menu is affordable and very healthy (meats were all lean and broths virtually oil free). Portion sizes were perfect. We actually had our lunch at around 3pm so that might explain why our food didn't taste particularly fresh. Would have liked the pho noodles to be freshly made but for $12, I guess I can't really complain! The waiters were also super friendly, helpful and service oriented. Overall, a lovely little restaurant to visit if you're on a budget, diet or simply need a quick bite to eat.

I see this place very often as it's located at a very convenient position from a marketing point of view.

I decided to go here for a quick snack and had a few summer and spring rolls.

The service was quick and the staff were all good.
The spring rolls were a bit oily but the summer rolls ( the traditional rice paper rolls ) were delightful. Both came with a tangy and tasty chutney.

The takeaways have done enough justice for me to visit this place again for a heavier dish.
Kim M
Not a bad place for a quick Asian meal. Always busy - esp when there is an event on at Vector Arena. But the staff are always efficient and the meals are lovely. I Love the rice paper rolls, beef noodle soup and lemon grass beef vermicelli. Recommend for a quick meal. Price is quite reasonable
R & A
Our meals didn't really impress us in regards to taste.

Summer spring rolls - These should be made fresh to my order. It will take 20 seconds to do so however these are premade and therefore sticky, gloopy, chewy and pretty hard to eat.

Lemon grass pork on rice wasn't anything special, similar to a kebab on rice style meal, boring...

Chicken salad was plain, bland and tasted like it was possibly made the day before.

The dishes were served in plastic takeaway containers when could have easily been put on a plate and arranged to look nicer, simple touch that could go along way.

Its cheaper to wash and reuse a plate then serve food in disposable plastic takeaway container and looks much much better too. The food wasn't so cheap to the point that you need to eat from a plastic container and cutlery. Overtime replacing cutlery so often will cost more than to wash them so for this we were confused.

If your looking for high-quality Vietnamese then likely this isn't the place for you. However the prices are quite cheap so good for a cheap meal on the go.

Popped by here for a spontaneous lunch with a friend. Have been wanting to try the "bánh mì" for a while, so I opted for the lemongrass chicken one while my friend had lemongrass beef noodles. Service was polite and friendly, and our food arrived efficiently. I must say, for my first ever bánh mì, it was delicious, and at $8 it wasn't too hard on a student's budget. I'd recommend trying out this little place if you're ever in the area!
Rachel.goodchild
Best value good food in town - my personal favourite are the summer rolls but the family go crazy for the fresh spring rolls
So good and our must visit before concerts and events - cheap, fresh and simple
Place is not fancy but food is excellent
Joanne Chiang
This place is fast and cheap. Comparing other vietnamese joint in the CBD, saigonz is more wallet friendly. Although they serve you with disposable cutleries and all, it didn't really phase me. I got the lemongrass pork on rice and boyfiend got the pho. There was plenty of meat on both of our dish which was refreshing to us because we are so used to getting served with little ingredients in our meals when we have lunch or dinner in town.
Labellelune
Waited over half and hour for our prawns crackers to arrive. They actually forgot about it so we had to ask for it when we were leaving. I had the chicken salad that costed $8. For that price is was extremely small. The size was not decent at all. I have not tried other dishes but considering the chicken salad was not satisfied. Would not recommend if we're to have the chicken salad.
HJ
Great location for those wanting a bite before they head to Vector for a concert! Although many people have the same idea so there may be a bit of a wait. Street parking around this area isn't easy which is the only downfall to this location. The décor of this restaurant is pretty simple and it seems as though it's more of a take away joint as everything is served in plastic containers (even if your dining in). I think there could be a improvement on presentation, if meals weren't served in plastic containers for those dining in.

On to the food! We ordered the Lemongrass chicken ($11) and the Lemongrass Vegetarian Curry ($11). Our dishes were reasonably priced but some people may find the portions to be a bit too small for a substantial meal. The Lemongrass chicken was lacking flavour and I found my meal a little bland. The curry was good, the vegetables and tofu were cooked. They have some good options on the menu but I'd recommend sticking to the classics!
Auckland Food Tours
Love this place. Consistently good, tasty, cheap meals. We love the Lemongrass Beef and the Spring Rolls. The decor is really nothing special but on a nice day you can sit outside.
Parking around the area is difficult and don't be tempted to park in Countdowns parking (they have people watching and writing out tickets)
Tip: If you are on the North Shore, Saigonz runs a takeaway out of a caravan at the market on Sunday mornings where they have a selection of their most popular dishes from their in house menu.
Chaos
It was ok my friend wanted some vietnamese but i didnt like the menu expensive for the spring rolls that didnt taste that good nor was fresh my friwnd got seafood with 1 prawn... serously i could make better vietnamese then this
KST
Excellent value for money - good food and quick service. Works as a quick work lunch or a takeaway.

Try the lemongrass chicken on vermicelli or one of the curries!
Ash McGregor
The service was a little iffy, the food came out within record time (which can be slightly alarming in some cases) but the meals are so cheap, tasty and filling!
I really like this place, it filled up quite quickly for dinner and it also has a lot of seating which is handy.
Definitely check this place out with a few friends and wine.
Stephanie J
I LOVE THIS PLACE. The best Vietnamese noodle place EVER. Want a cheap and fulfilling eat? Come to saigonz! I sound like I was paid to advertise but honestly this place I would never hesitate to go to whenever I can't decide what to eat. I've tried the majority of menu. Tbh I love everything, but My favourite would be their Pho noodle soup with coriander and hot pepper. Even better for cold chilly nights. This place isn't fancy but its great for all those casual meetups with friends. It can get a bit crowded so a group of about 5-6 would max out.
Maia Churichkova
Cheap and cheerful! Really like the rice paper rolls and the lemongrass chicken is quite flavourful. Would have liked some more sauce to moisten the noodles underneath but that's me being a bit fussy. Great for lunch.
Mel Jacka
Best Summer Rolls in my opinion!Tasty Lemongrass chicken - a smidge dry (seems to be a common trend). Was supposed to take a photo but I demo'd my food before I had a chance - woops! Cheap and fast meals that are a big size! (Couldn't finish my chicken).
Annie Ren
The meals were alright! Nothing exciting but everything is pretty nicely cooked. Their dishes were contained in takeaway boxes even though we chose to dine-in but the food wasn't bad and very reasonably priced. I found the lemongrass chicken a bit bland but I really liked the curry which had a hint of spiciness that's just about right to me!
Bhavan Rajaraman
How ignorant can people be ? I asked for a vegetarian salad after specifying to the receptionist that I am a vegetarian. She gave the salad and some appetizer on the side. It looked like crisps. I nibbled on the crisp to see what it is. There was this odd odor and I asked her what it was. She said that it was pork crisps and it comes with the salad! I was baffled. I threw the vegetarian salad in the trash and just walked out. Not recommended for vegetarians/vegans.

I went with a couple of friends only a few nights ago for dinner. Since we aren't big eaters we shared two dishes and a portion of summer rolls. As a big fan of Vietnamese food I had high expectations, and Saigonz did not disappoint. The lemongrass chicken, as recommended by several in other reviews, was flavourful (if a little dry), and the fried noodles, though not as expected, worked shockingly amazingly as a replacement for vermicelli of a typical Vietnamese vermicelli salad. The summer rolls also tasted very fresh.

The star of any show in Vietnamese dishes that revolve around fresh vegetables is the nuoc cham (renamed "Saigonz special sauce" within the restaurant), and this one hit the spot as sweet, savoury, slightly sour, and spicy. Two dishes and one side dishes totalled about $30 between three of us, and as the portions were larger than it appeared in the photos it left us all extremely full and very satisfied.

Along with good, friendly service, I would definitely recommend Saigonz and will likely go again.
Sheena
we were in a rush for food before the ed sheeran concert and were a bit reluctant to eat here because it looked super busy. the food came out in literally four minutes and we were done in about twenty. it was tasty and cheap, though i thought the pho was quite a smaller portion compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. this is a good restaurant for a quick meal, or for take outs.
Jakub Holovsky
Good food but they need to start using proper plates and proper utensils while dining in. Such a waste of resources using those plastic ones.
Kwan-Lyn
The menu may be small but all the dishes I've tried so far, they have done well. The food always tastes fresh and

I usually go for either the rare beef pho - one of my favourites in Auckland, beef is tender, broth full of flavour and topped up a great selection of herbs OR the lemongrass chicken fried rice.
Miss Kiki
I had the pho a very long time ago and remember that I wasn't a huge fan. But I now come here quite frequently for the lemongrass pork bahn mi. It's a small portion perfect for lunch. The fresh spring rolls are tasty too.
Jason B
Love Vietnamese? Then if you've never been here you are totally missing out. Don't let the small space keep you from experiencing one of Auckland's best Vietnamese restaurants. One of the big things I miss about working in the middle of town is this little gem. Amazing food that is well flavoured and amazing portion sizes which really hit the spot. Even if you choose a safe item on the menu you won't be disappointed. Even the fried rice blows my mind! This place is a family owned venture and is shown by their dedication to good food and customer service. I'll be a customer for life!
Mike
Went here one late seedy night accompanied by non-athletic and explosive friend. We both ordered pho which came out prompt and fresh.

Portion was good.
Adequate herbs.
Service was good.
Ambiance and lighting was tight.

Legit as would return.
Riddhi
Seeing a long line cueing for food is a good sign for me as this showed how popular Saigonz was. The food prices are extremely reasonable and more than satisfying. While the menu is slightly limited , this is overcome by the quality and taste of the food. Service is exceptional , always friendly and helpful

Highly recommend lemongrass chicken! Will definately go again :)
Stacey
One of my favourite places to eat in Auckland! The food is great value for money and their meals taste amazing! Saigonz is easily my most-visited restaurant from the past 12 months. I would love to see this business expand to other locations around the city.
Ngo
im living in Australia now but i'll move to Auckland city. Can you tell me, where is vietnamese town living in Auckland ?thank you!!!!
Ashley Clifton Lake
Awesome tasty food, great atmosphere, lemongrass beef is yummy. highly recommended. :), the service is efficient and friendly and location is convenient, especially if you are heading to an event at the Vector arena.
Lucy Chapman
I really like this place for a cheap student meal. I come here every now and again and I like Vietnamese food. The pancake however is a bit greasy but then its quite good for $10. I have also tried their fried rice and couldn't finish it so great for value. The photos they have here are very honest, the pancake I had looks exactly like the photo. I also like the fact that you can have most meals with a choice of meat, and for some meals they are all the same price. The place is also cosy and the staff are so friendly! Makes me feel that the people who run it really deserve business :) They also have loyalty cards which are good and will keep me coming back. I would say the menu is a bit limited but generally Siagonz is quite a nice place to go for lunch or supper and I'd recommend it to students :)
Darian McChompski
Great food but don't bother booking because you'll end up waiting just like anyone off the street as they don't actually save a table for you! Very tasty anyhow.
J Muñoz
Definitely a fan of this place, food was tasty, loved the beef pho! The heater radiates above the counter, Which scorched the customers faces while waiting in line though.
I'm glad they understood when we requested no coriander. Good Efficient Service. food came almost instantly after ordering and choosing a seat. :-) awesome saigonz!!!
Sue
Food was really nice but the portions looked like entrees? Will go back again but will just order more next time, was expecting a cheap night out but guess it wont be from there.
Ryan Judd
great city based place. food is always of excellent quality but the menu is a little limited. Their spring rolls are famous around auckland city.
Sharelle
The food is really tasty, we had the Beef Pho, chicken curry, summer rolls and spring rolls. We took the recommendation to get the extra beef in the Pho which made it a more substantial and tasty dish. We also were given a dollop of lemon grass chilli which added extra flavour depth, use sparingly if you do not like spicy. This is primarily a take away joint that has some tables, as everything was served in plastic. I will be back to try the Pancakes and Fish Noodle soup. Helpful and friendly staff.
Ashley Trang
For vietnamese cuisine, this is quite expensive and the portion size is small. This is probably because you are paying city prices.

The food and service is average.
Adrian And Roberta
great spring rolls.
really tasty beef pho.
crispy crepes.
ate on square cushions.
would go again to try summer rolls
Danny
Saigonz provides great value, with mains costing as little as $10. But the food itself is hit and miss - their Lemongrass Chicken was good, but the Prawn Banh Xeo was tasteless and disappointing.

Service and presentation can also be improved - on a particularly empty night, the waiter forgot to provide us with cutlery and glasses for the water. And though we were dining in, each meal was served in a plastic takeaway container.

Saigonz does serve good food for the price - stick to the classics like fried rice and lemongrass curries, and you won't be disappointed.
