Review Thai Village Restaurant - Auckland Central

Trentyz
Recently renovated authentic Thai restaurant in the heart of Remuera. We were greeted by a warm ambience, moody lighting and the bustling hubbub of other patrons. Despite visiting during the Friday night rush, staff were extremely attentive, polite and friendly. Food came out reasonably quickly, although not all together. I had a pad Thai ($25.50) and found it to be appropriately sweet, nutty and well portioned. We would certainly return. Note: all meals require you to spend an additional $3.50 on small rice portions and there is a holiday surcharge of 15%.

The decor was very upscale and flowers were placed on the table in advance. The tableware is also all very clean and the food is inexpensive. Perfect for dates and family dinners. This restaurant is very popular, so be sure to reserve your spot in advance. The waiter service is very good, even if we accidentally lock eyes with the waiter, they will immediately come over and ask if we need anything.

Great drinks, the fried rice was also very good, just everything else we ordered seemed like it was made from the same sauce, it all tasted the same. The green curry was also very good.
Lonny Tian
Perfect place for friends catch up, the green curry cook tastes fantastic. The flaming chicken is surprising.

A treasure hidden behind Remuera Road with nice outdoor area under glass roof. The entrees are tasty and the mains are filling and delicious. Price is comparatively competitive compare to more expensive options in the Thai cuisine market. A great choice for lunch or dinner occasion.

A lovely ambient/ spot. Excellent food and exceptional service. Highly recommended!

Had the duck curry, and tried various other dishes from those sitting at my table. Absolutely wonderful!

What a superb day to enjoy the light breeze in the big conservatory at Thai Village. I can highly recommend the prawn& pork toast (entree), the chicken&cashews dish, plus we shared (but didn’t need!) the Pad Thai … yum My partner had the Panang Curry which I am so having next time! Good Fresh vibrant delicious dishes under a blue blue sky … Over ordered and now need a lie down! haha

Two of us called in without a reservation and it was very busy. However they found us a table. Service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious.

We went for our wedding anniversary dinner, honestly we're were not disappointed. The food, the experience, the atmosphere was top marks. Thank you Thai Village!

Finally the wait is over after a year of renovation and new building. The finest Thai restaurant in Auckland. Authentic dishes. Dedicated chef. Highly recommend. Must have dish - Ginger Fish - simply the best fish dish with ginger aroma and classic taste of authentic Thai cooking. Volcano Chicken - not many place does this dish any more. Lamb massaman with very tendered meat and rich flavour of South East Asia.

Best Authentic Thai food in Auckland. Good to bring friends or family to have dinner at this place. The decorations and atmosphere are so nice. Delicious food and nice service.

Good atmosphere and cozy little secluded area. Need to walk from roadside into the shop through a walkway area. Food was very yummy, green curry was excellent. Had thai style soft shell crab as a starter. Had some thai beer to go with the food. Service was good too with friendly and helpful staff. Clean and tidy restaurant.

Consistently good. Gorgeous place, Love the big beautiful light fixture in the glasshouse part! Lovely atmosphere though gets noisy of course at busy times.

I have been going here for years and will continue to do so, awesome food and great service. On the odd occasion I have turned up without booking, they have been incredibly accommodating and found me a table, can't rate this Thai restaurant highly enough.
Zamelia McGarrigle
Thank you for fabulous Thai experience. Pad Thai portion was huge and superb, best pad Thai in Auckland. Surprised Thai traditional desserts from the Chef. 5*. Sticky rice cake, fried banana and marshmallow ice cream with coconut. Cant beat that!

The worst experience I ever had in my life. We had to wait just 5 mins until they prepare the table. We don't mind waitng at all. A girl came and informed us the table was ready. But by mistake my husband went to another empty table. The waitress who always in the cash counter call my husband "ey oh" which we used to call animals. we were so embarassed in front of a big crowd. I understand that person did't know my husband's name but instead of calling him "eh oh" he could have go and show us "that is your table". The table he showed us wasn't prepaired either.Such a humiliation in front of a big crowd. At that time we were the only dark skinned people and we felt like they treated us differently because of that. never ever recommend this place. They ruined our Saturday night.

The most authentic Thai restaurant in New Zealand. Consistency flavour, finest taste of real Thai food. I feel like the restaurant honor customer by selection of great ingredient. Highly recommended!!!!
Trevor Hynes
Fantastic ambience, great food and presentation, great staff-relaxed atmosphere. Will go back!!
Isuru Jayasinghe
Worst experience. Spoiled our Saturday night. Don't know how to address a customer.
Diana Simons
A favourite restaurant of ours, consistently good well presented food, reasonably priced. Will continue to go there when friends visit us in Auckland.
Vimuth Silva
The worst experience ever . We were planning go for a nice night out last night but these people screwed the entire night!! I would say that was the bad ever customer service I have seen in my life . They didn't even clean the bloody table. Under the table there were used tissues. The staff was like they are the customers and we are the staff. !!! So bad!!

Wonderful meal with my daughter and excellent service

Lovely place but hard to find. Nice food and great service.
Nick Ribton
Nice food , good service .
Andrew Clark
Probably the best Thai food in Auckland!
Chunkymonkey
Food was good. Some better than others. Highly reccomend the yellow curry, defs the best dish from what we ordered.
Prab
Pretty good food. We liked everything we ordered. That flaming chicken (you'll know it when you see it) they have was pretty good. The service was alright as well. It was a little expensive but definitely worth it for some good thai food.
Joel Kerber
Went here for lunch today - excellent indoor and outdoor environment. Easy to find parking. The lunch menu is reasonably priced. Too bad they crossed off a couple of items that would have been great to try like the Chicken rice (which is everywhere in Thailand!)
Cynthia Agustin
I knew of this restaurant for ages but could not quite go...until today. A belated fathers day celebration... was impressed with the waitress as she knows the menu by heart. Lovely food and friendly staff. I love the ambience... with a cold wintry chill outside, its nice and cozy inside.. prices reasonable and big portions enough to be shared.
FoodMakesMeHappy
Friendly staff and nice and warm atmosphere. We had mixed appetiser, Green curry and pad thai. Green curry was quite nice, appetiser just average and pad thai was way too sweet. The price was a bit expensive for what we had.... they charged for two rice without asking when we had only one green curry
Emily Cryer
Absolutely love this place! I grew up coming here and then as soon as I was back living in the area I have been addicted! Every weekend I look forward to my Thai Village fix. Chicken pad thai is always a classic, the red chicken curry is incredible and the waterfall beef salad is my absolute favourite! Can’t recommend more.
Val
Very sweet food. Even if you ask for spicy they will give you sugary sweet food. Pad thai was sweet as hell and had no peanut sauce flavour. The pepper and garlic chicken was also really sweet. The only good thing was their fried rice and also spring rolls. We were hungry so just ate it, but do not intend on going there again. Thanks for ruining it for us
Beccs
Visited this restaurant after many years of not going and to be honest was disappointed! I was with both my kids who also weren’t too impressed! We had fresh spring rolls which were average and then tried the deep fried spring rolls and you could not tell what meat was used. We also had a duck curry.
To top it up the waiter was very unfriendly and I probably won’t be going back in a hurry!
Chay P Rosales
I had a lunch out with a friend. The food was nice and the ambiance, however the service took a long time because there’s only 1 server that time.
Tania Buckingham
Best thai food I have had. Staff are very friendly, atmosphere is wonderful big and spacious restaurant. Highly recommend this place clean and tidy, staff went above and beyond.
Aimee.
The waitress (blonde/light brown hair with braces) was incredibly kind, polite and attentive towards us. She made sure to give us time to order as we ordered so many dishes. The food came out really fast even though we ordered a bunch of things. Everything we ordered was either vegetarian or vegan (we ordered off the vegetarian menu only) and it was delicious. Portions are decent and the food is authentic and full of flavour.
SJ
The BEST Thai in Auckland. The service is always excellent, staff are warm, friendly and really happy to see you. I have visited Thai village on many occasions and have never left disappointed. I have a nut allergy and this is remembered at each visit without me even having to remind the staff. The pork and prawn toast is amazing and goes really well with the raw prawns. I have had many main dishes and none have disappointed. Dessert is my favourite part, the rice pudding and marshmallow ice cream is a must try. I highly recommend Thai Village 😍

It was my first time trying an authentic Thai restaurant in my life. Even though the tastes were new for me, all meals were absolutely delicious. I loved prawns and the dessert the most 😋 Also very warm & friendly (and cute!) staffs working there and I really enjoyed being there. Everything seemed perfect ❤ People should go there for some special days. Thank you very much for the wonderful experience 🙏

I had dinner with my wife and baby daughter here last night. I was impressed by the ambience of the place - nice and cozy and the decorations were very elegantly Thai. I felt like I was back in South East Asia where I'm also from. Our daughter had a fun time looking at the decorations and eating veggies.

The service was very good and the waitress was very courteous. I asked how to say thank you in Thai and she very happily taught how to say it to men and women. They were also very fast preparing the high chair for our baby.

We ordered the following:
- Soft shell crab in garlic and pepper sauce - had a nice sweet and sour taste to it. The veggie bed added balance.
- Mixed appetizers - a good sampler with 1 of each item: Thai spring roll, fish cake, chicken satay, kari puff and one other which I dont' know the name of. All were very flavourful.
- Prawn tom yum - had about 4 pcs of prawn and the rest mushrooms. nice and sour. :)
- and 2 steamed rice - which is apparently unlimited serving since they gave us seconds.

This is a very nice place so expect us back again.

Kap khun!

It's a nice place with lots of beautiful Thai decoration. The staff were friendly and polite. The food was DELICIOUS with a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Thai Village serves authentic Thai cuisine that tastes wonderful. The restaurant is spotless with a very nice ambiance and the service excellent. Highly recommended.

Wonderful food and ambiance. I and my friends came to the Thai Village last Friday 8th June. We ordered 5 main dishes with some appetisers. We enjoyed the food and didn't need to worry about the cold weather outside. The restaurant prepared several heaters for customers in different areas. The staff were talented and experienced in looking after their customers. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone searching for a nice and warm Thai restaurant during the winter time.
Mmmfood
This restaurant has a very charming atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. We've tried a variety of dishes and have always thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Came here for my mother birthday. Inside the restaurant it has good Thai vibes with friendly staffs.
Food was beautiful. Little bit pricey but still reasonable. My favourite is waterfall beef!
We had a group of 13 and arrived just after 6 pm on Sunday night. Nice warm atmosphere and staff seemed friendly and took us all to our reserved tables. We ordered and were served appetizers quite quickly. Our mains were served BUT I had asked fro no prawns in my sweet and sour. PRAWNS were evident. It is just as well I was not allergic to seafood. My main included a large quantity of raw onion, raw tomato, raw peppers and only 6 pieces of sweet and sour "meat". VERY DISSAPOINTED. We were all served with Rice with our mains without being asked and presumed it was included in the price of the main. When our bill arrived we were surprised to see that the small spoonful of rice was charged at $2.50 per person. We noticed that other tables seemed to get much more rice than us. Perhaps more staff training as to quantities should be arranged. Yellow Curry with chicken and sweet potato consisted of very little curry juice with very little chicken and a large quantity by comparison of sweet potato. quite disappointing. Others at our table had various negative comments and unfortunately, we will not be back.
Vikram
Average food but very poor service.
Took about 15 minutes for someone to take our drinks and food order.
Had to ask for water twice - which was spilt on the table but never wiped clean.
All good was requested to come together - but came over a time span of 20 minutes.
Food presentation was good though - taste average.

A charming and comfortable Thai restaurant in the heart of Remuera.

Having been around for years the Thai Village have their regulars and returning customers sorted. It seems there isn't a night they aren't busy.

Offering dine-in or takeaway, you can have authentic Thai in the comfort of your own home or immerse yourself in the cultural atmosphere they have created.

The staff are extremely friendly and seem to always have a table to offer you. I recommend grabbing yourself the heated outdoor gazebo if it hasn't been taken already.

The menu is extensive so you'll certainly find something so suit everyone. The menu itself is very reasonable - making a meal out with the family or a group of friends super affordable.

If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful experience Thai Village is the place to go.

Not too busy when we arrived at this establishment tonight. Service was prompt, polite, helpful, and friendly. About the decor. At least they have a lot of Thai decorations and ornaments. Food was tasty, flavourful. Came out quite fast too. We had to PA k our car at New World supermarket. Luckily at about 8ish, the carpark was quite empty.

Great food, good service. Best authentic Thai food i've ever tasted. The atmosphere of the restaurant made us feel like we were having a home cook meal, we were welcome and greeted warmly by the staff and the service were outstanding. Best Thai restaurant in town 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

My friend recommends me to go to Thai Village Restaurant. They said, This place is pretty good, the food is very fantastic and it is the best Thai Restaurant in Auckland that they ever been to. So I went there yesterday with my family. The waitress recommended me the framing chicken so I ordered one. The way they serve was awesome because the chicken was on fire. It was pretty tasty and the chicken was very soft, I really love it. I also ordered Red Duck, Garlic Pork, TOM YAM SOUP and the end I ordered Thai Sticky Rice with coconut ice-cream for my dessert. I really enjoyed the meal last night and the service there was amazing. All the staffs are very friendly. before I went home I ordered Pad Thai Chicken to take away for my friend as well. I'm sure I'll come back there again.
There are plenty of parking and easy to park!!!!

I went there last Friday. I sat at the gazebo. It was very special table. I've been there with my girl friend. It's very romantic. Everyone must try that seat.

I started with money bag, fresh spring rolls and spicy raw prawn. For the main, i had steam fish with lemon and waterfall beef. It's absolutely superb. My gf really like it. We would like to go there again. Stuffs were so nice. They had nice smile. Our table's outside but they always came to us. It's good food& good service. Wonderful ;)

This restaurant is hidden away behind the Remuera Shops.

The decor inside is very authentic.

The dishes looked incredible and tasted delicious.

Picky Pete
One of the best Thai restaurants in Auckland, if not the best. Most perfectly balanced curries available in the city, warm decor, and creative dessert offerings. The pricing is just on the higher side however, but it is Remuera. The host can be a bit grumpy at times and maybe could benefit from smiling more, but maybe I am just being picky again.

Thai Village is a culinary journey. The owners are seasoned operators and the Thai food that is presented and served at this restaurant has some of the best tastes that you can get in Auckland. The staff are friendly and very accommodating and the ambience is fantastic. I have been coming here for many years, this restaurant is perfect for a romantic dinner for 2 or for a large group if you are celebrating a special event- I highly recommend Thai Village
Jason
This is my favourite Thai restaurant. The owners are seasoned operators and they have operated from these premises for many years. You just can't beat the flavours , the freshness and the presentation of the food, I always find my experience at Thai Village to be a culinary journey. The staff are immaculately presented in Thai silk uniform and are always close by for all your needs. I love to arrive in the evening and walk up the driveway, the restaurant is lit up beautifully and once inside the ambience takes you on a journey through Thailand, so much to experience , see and observe. Highly recommended for a romantic dinner for two or a group booking if you are celebrating something bigger

This was our first time at this restaurant and it was great !!
The atmosphere and the service from the staff was fantastic.
The waitstaff were incredibly polite and attentive the restaurants decor beautiful with traditional Thai-style decorations on the walls and wooden furniture a very Thai feel to the place.
The presentation of the food was a feast for the eye, and then the taste was very delecious and authentic.

We 're defenately come back.

I've been here before and the service was bad but food was decent. I hadn't done a review that time as I thought it might have been because they were busy and had a long day, so I gave them the benefit of doubt and came back to eat here again hoping for a better experience.

Unfortunately this time round not even was the service bad but the food was also bad. Matter of fact the service was pathetic.

We were seated in the side near the water piece on the wall. It was a two seater with one seat on the side and one in the way which led to my seat being pushed by the waiters at least 8 times when they were walking by.

When we were ordering food my boyfriend clearly said to the waiter that he wanted particular vegetables in the stir fry that he ordered. The waiter with a bitter look on his face took the order and surprise surprise it didn't come as ordered. Clearly mentioned while ordering was that he wanted no greens and asked to add extra baby corn. None of that was done. Another issue with his stir fry was half the pumpkins had skin still on them.

The pad Thai and spring rolls were good but the Coke we ordered was suppose to be with no ice and it still came with ice.

I usually don't do negative reviews (as u can see in my feed) but this time round I had to. Its been two bad experiences and i wouldn't recommend anyone to come here.
Peter
Me and my friends had a lovely meal at thai village last week. We really enjoy green curry and Gai ob. The service was good and fast. The waiter who serve our table was really nice and friendly. Also we were really fascinate with a lovely carrot flower. The restaurant also have really lovely lamp that made from coconut shell. We really enjoy our time there and thank you for having us. 😊

Absolutely amazing food! Most definitely the best Panang curry I have ever had, with a very generous portion size. I'm not great with spice so asked for mild and it was perfect. Will definitely be going back... Maybe tomorrow even.

One of the best places I've dined at in Auckland!
Booking is recomended if you are coming here on a Friday or Saturday night. We saw a lot of people line up for their table
Service here was amazing and friendly,The staff are extremely efficient and smartly dressed, we are very much appreciated.
The ambiance of this place is phenomenal with an elegant mix of gentle wooden furniture and traditional Thai painting it's a welcoming fit out, good place for a relaxed dining experience.
The menu has a good selected of interesting dishes,The taste of everything was amazing and very authentic!
The prices seemed very reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area.
❤️Irene
Nice food, comfortable environment. We visited Thai village last night and have a great time here. But the service is just standard. We ordered fish cake, another fish main dish and green curry with duck. We love the fish cake but the dish is a little bit pricy. However we enjoy environment here.
Sanjesh Lal
Flamin chicken, prawns, Tom Yum soup....and everything else that we ordered was simply amazing. Although we had a large group of 14, service was always prompt. Desserts also very well presented! Added this straightaway to our selected 'must return' Thai places. Parking aplenty next door supermarket carpark....easier to get to via side street....don't blindly follow your GPS and park on Remuera Rd.

So yummy!! Has one of the best chicken cashew nuts I have ever had. We bought take out but the restaurant had super cool ambience - would love to go back. This is definitely my new go to when visiting Auckland ☺️

Very good. I drive 40 minutes return to buy Pad Thai and Green Curry from this place. The best Thai in Auckland. Also try the ginger fish - very yummy. BYO too!
FJ
Loved this place and can't wait to return. Have been dreaming about their food since we were last here. Lovely staff, lovely ambience to the restaurant. Amazing flavours. The staff helped recommend some dishes and did not disappoint. My lamb massaman was the best I've had in Auckland. The lamb was soft and tender and the curry flavours divine. I couldn't stop dipping into the sauce. For a large group of us we were all well fed, constantly watered and all left happy.
Dimitrios Konstantopoulos
wow, what a great taste experience! great menu, tasty meals, great ambient (indoor and outdoor ), very polite staff and very genuine Thai attitude. the place is spotless, and we will definitely be back as there were many delicious dishes on the menu that we didn't try.
Don't try coffee, not their best bit.

Well done and I feel lucky to be close by, as they do takeaways as well.
Winnie Luo
What a lovely restaurant nestled away from the main road of Remuera!

First time here and I will definitely be a returning diner whenever I feel like Thai cuisine.

Service was great as soon as we walked in, staff were very attentive and respectful. Food came out very quickly!

The taste of everything was amazing and very authentic! Portions are on the smaller side but nonetheless satisfying.

The decor of the restaurant takes you somewhere else, very nice place to dine!
Nelson Rhodes
Great lively atmosphere, friendly service and yummy food. The lamb was perfect, still thinking about it the next day. The bill was only $89 for two of us which was incredibly reasonable, will be going back again soon.

We came here a while ago and found it was decent food so came back. This time it was a rude experience. We ordered about 6 dishes for 6 adults and 4 small kids and they told us we need to order extra to make up for their min charge. We were not aware of their min charge that was written on the menu. Wasnt highlighted to us when we order. On further discussion she said that you are charged per person booked (even if they dont turn up)otherwise they lose out on other customers. And the worst thing is 4 of us are kids and 2 are babies. On the menu it doesnt say per person booked either! We understand you may have min charge but we didnt like your service . You told us rudely “so you dont want to order extra? And walked off when my sister was only trying to understand how much more she needs to order. This is ridiculous. First time ive heard of min charge in auckland.

Thai Village is a good spot to have a nice family dinner in the heart of Remuera Shops.

The restaurant is very well and nicely furnished and the staff uniforms make you feel like you were in Bangkok.

Staff are very efficient and food comes out very quick. The atmosphere is fantastic and family friendly.

I had the Pad Thai and it was ok but I wasn't very impressed. My partner had the Garlic Pepper Chicken and she loved it. She also asked for rice on the side and somebody came with a pot and serve her a couple of scoops in her plate. Then the server scooped some rice in my plate but I said I didn't wanted it and she left it on the plate.

When we went to pay we had been charged for 2 sides of rice and the lady on the counter made us very uncomfortable we I told her I didn't order it. She made us wait there while asking several staff if we had had more rice and she starting asking mee questions.

Sorry lady, I don't like to be treated like a liar, I will not be back.
Princess Norain Luzon-Marcial
The ambience are so thai. Beautiful place to have dinner. Food was perfectly made, very detailed. Fast customer service. Although, it takes atleast 45mins waiting time for food to be serve but still worth the wait. I love it. Definitely, a place to enjoy family date.
Rohit Victor
The pics should really say it all! Beautiful colours, authentic and tasty food! Such a calming ambience at the place! The staff were super helpful and to get Ice Cream (with marshmallows) and Banana Fritters for dessert was absolutely amazing! Great place to take your family! Def #1 in my books!
Ruth Gong
Very delicious chicken green curry!! The restaurant is tucked away inside a small village in the busy roads of Remuera. The restaurant is decorated with many Thai cultured statues. The waiter is attentive and helpful. The food is served very quickly

I went this restaurant with my family, and I was really really appreciate for waiter. Because they were very kind. whenever I drank all of the water, they filled up my glasses. And when they carried the food from kitchen to our table, they always said "Excuse me" I was really impressed that. Thank you so much!!
Claudia Camathias
I visited Thai Village Restaurant last week for the first time with some friends, and I was really satisfying.
The Pat Thai and the Gai Ob was really delicious and the service was good.
Hope it was not the last time for me to eat there :)
Mat
It was a typical Thursday evening... He asked "What do you wanna eat?"
I replied with "I don't mind, anything?!"
So we spontaneously ended up here ;-)

Before I stepped foot into the actual restaurant, I was very impressed with the garden/entrance section. Wow, so beautiful. I can definitely see what the hype is about. I ordered my staple Thai dish - chicken "Pra Ram" and thoroughly enjoyed it. The sauce was very thick and textured, just how I like it..... Yum!
He ordered the lamb rack... It was tender, succulent and delicious.

I would like to visit this place again in the future. However, not anytime soon as the food wasn't as good as other Thai restaurants I have tried preceding tonight.

Environment 5/5
Food 3 /5
Service 4/5

Came here for a friend's birthday. It s such a beautiful restaurant I have to say😸. (The decor and arts, it's like being in Thailand😚) They were quite busy on a Thursday night, we waited quite a white for our food, but everything is worth the wait😀 the red curry duck was my favourite of the night! And the flame chicken, was really GOOD ha.

Another Hidden Gem in Auckland.
Is like being in Thailand! 🌴 Traditional Thailand Restaurant very well presented, clean and beautiful. Service was very good, they where very friendly, always with a smile and respect. Food was delicious and is perfect for Romantic Date's 😉 or Dinner with colleagues or family 👪
Mommy Friendly :? Yes you can go with kids preferentially in a quiet days as can be very busy and noisy place for babies.
Looking forward to go back soon.

Great place! Went for the first time recently in a few years. They were easily able to make me a meal that was gluten, onion and garlic free. Nice little Friday night dinner option!

This Thai place has all the ingredients of a winner - great food, great ambience and great service. Green Thai curry was outstanding. Will go again.
Jorson
We've read good reviews on how remarkable the Thai cuisine cooking is from this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The duck curry had the right amount of flavour, the pad Thai was exactly how a pad Thai taste and the fried sweet chilli fish was tender crisp - we got what we expected, a rich expected flavor. The place was fancy with good lighting. The only improvement I can constructively critic would be the hospitality -it would've been nice if they could smile a bit and not look, like they had their passports burned.
Celeste
Went here for dinner with partner and we both really enjoyed it! Super delicious foods, you can certainly taste the quality and freshness of the dishes which I think is a must for any restaurant to receive great reviews. The atmosphere was just as lovely even though it is quite a busy little restaurant it's still very enjoyable and intimate. Service was also great.
Reg Chand
Came here on tuesday, food is great but pricey average $22 per dish. Service is not so great you can be sitting there and waiting before someone comes to take your order. Portion size is also small ordered stir fry and it was not enough to fill me alone.
Jason Garcia
Recently went to Thai Village in Remuera with our family & friends. The restuarant is BYO & we had a great night. The menu is typical of most Thai restuarants though the food was really good & the service was helpful. I didn't hear any complaints from others & would definitely recommend.
Sabrina Zhou
Went there on a busy fri night with friends. Liked water feature at the entrance, and nice garden as well. Flaming chicken was absolutely amazing! Curry dishes were quite nice as well. Although we waited 45 mins for our food. But we enjoyed our time sitting at the little corner, chatting and entertained ourselves with nice traditional Thai style decorations. And food was worthwhile for the long waiting.

Little I could comment on as its a super thai in a handy spot to my home. Was very busy we got the last table (by the door) would have been noisier where all the other tables were.
Satay chicken was a generous portion for a starter maybe 5 skewers. The spring rolls were not greasy and again generous.
Mains were red duck curry 9/10 a little creamier than id prefer but excellent taste. Contained pineapple a good quantity of sauce and the serving was large. 9/10.
A prawn pad thai. Again generous portion but a little overcooked not many prawns and slightly soggy noodle. 8/10. 2 entrees and 2 mains with rice at $2.50 pp. Well fed for $80. Staff were ok. Decor appropriate.

I came here on my birthday. The thai food was so yummy and delicious! The place was very clean and the service was excellent. Nice atmosphere too with great outdoor seating. The dessert was really nice and their curries too! Loved it! The prices were reasonable.

Visited Thai Village last night, Saturday 22 Feb. Had one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've ever had.
The staff were so friendly, and they were so attentive to us during the night even though the place was so full. We noticed only 1 empty table while we were there. Service overall was great.
The food was to die for.
My first experience with flaming chicken, OMG it was fantastic.
Our party of 5 all agreed that this was the only Thai restaurant to eat at from now on. To the staff, a great big THANK YOU all so very much for a wonderful evening. See you again soon.
Yulia
My experience of dining at Thai Village Restaurant was very pleasant and enjoyable. It's a pity that one can't upload pics - I took quite a few for the great presentation. A friend of mine that came with me was very impressed. She works for an international airline, travels around the world a lot and told this place was simply one of the best. We ordered a few starters, yellow chicken curry, prawns with veges to share and also dessert. It's hard to pick what we liked the most as everything was delicious. The staff were friendly and I could see they were making an effort to make sure we were happy with everything. I'll definitely be back and I highly recommend this place to all who appreciate an authentic Thai cuisine.

We waited half an hour after we had been seated to place an order for our drinks and food. They were incredibly short staffed. The meals came out fast and the food was ok. We did watch as a meal had been taken to the wrong table and the people had started eating it, then the waiter came back to remove the food, he took it straight over to the right table. This was appalling. The service was not good. There are much nicer Thai restaurants in Auckland, wont be returning again.

Excellent and authentic Thai food. Attentive and friendly service. Lot's of free parking. Great duck, chicken and seafood dishes. You can also specify how spicy you want your dish ranging from mild to Thai hot. Slightly on the expensive side for Thai food but well worth it for a top all round experience.

Disappointing experience. Unfortunately had problems from the start. They seemed to have double booked our booking and took a while to find a table. Then when we did find a table they forgot us for about 20 minutes and we had to ask for menus and to order drinks. Meals were nice, decor nice but they weren't able to even give us our second choice of desserts. Disappointed. No excuse for this poor service. We wont be back. Lots of other better Thai restaurants around. The food wasn't that good to give this restaurant a second chance.

My partner and I frequent Thai Village as it has become a reliable favourite for dine-in and takeaway. I love their Red Duck Curry and if you're ever eating in, I recommend the flaming chicken!

We come here every couple of weeks.

I love Thai food and Thai Village is my all time favourite. Has to be the best Thai food in Auckland.

Presentable staff and clean tables.

And always plenty of free parking in the large parking lot next door.

My wife and I decided to dine there last Saturday. Our first time after being recommended by friends.
The food was by far the best Thai food we have tasted in NZ.
As for the service. We have never been made to feel so much at home as we were. The waitress with the brown hair, was so professional. She helped in recommending what courses we could have that would suit our preferences. The food arrived in a timely fashion between entrees, mains & desserts.
Will we go again. Absolutely, and very very soon.

The Thai Village was a great experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was excellent and good value for money. My wife was apprehensive about eating Thai but thoroughly enjoyed her time and after sampling the food said that it was delicious! Great place to enjoy as a couple or as a family!

The Thai village most definately serves the best Thai I have ever tasted. The people are so friendly and nice. The food is delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant is fantastic. Love the Thai decor too. It is at the top of my list for birthday and dinner party's! Great, authentic Thai, LOVE IT!

Probably a favourite for Thai restaurants in Auckland, been here several times for dinner. Food is just delicious, the flaming chicken and waterfall beef and the entrees are good too. However on one occasion it took about an hour and a half for the food to come - was a really busy night so watch out for that, otherwise definitely recommend if you like Thai food. Service is alright, and love the decour and nice location.

Food came out within 5 mins and tasted amazing! Decor is very cool - authentic Thai style. Standard Thai restaurant pricing. Recommend to all. Hint - there is a car park on Clonbern Rd right outside the restaurant.

I had a dinner party with my friends at the Thai Village last week. We ordered Banquet 1 because we were suggested that we would be able eat at the same time. When compared to the portion per person, the food was not expensive. It was delicious and the atmosphere was great! The flaming chicken was fantastic. The staff were very tentative and all of us really enjoyed the food. I will go back there with my friends again.

This restaurant was lovely. Service fab and prompt, even when I asked to change tables it was no problem. Food delicious. And the sizzling chicken fell off the bone. Would definitely return again. I hadn't been for some years, and it was nice to return and be as good as I remember it. Four stars!

We travel all over NZ and have just about tried every Thai restaurant, nothing bets the food freshness and quality of the food from the Thai Village Restaurant in Remuera.
Their service is first class, nothings a problem just a fantastic place to dine.
Go and try it you won't be disappointed

Excellent food, environment, and services. I and my family came to this restaurant and we were so happy. Their desserts were also yummy. The owner and the staff looked after us very well although it was a very busy night. We will go back definitely.

Food was great (seriously terrific!) but service wasn't.

It took three phone calls (the first two I left clear messages but no-one returned my calls) to make a booking. We were there early (6pm on a Sunday) and waited a good half hour unattended before I asked for water for the table. Staff were unable to make recommendations for shared starters. One main arrived a good 10 mins after the other three.

And there was a dodgy looking customer who kept wandering in and out to eat the free chips and nuts, while knocking back copious amounts of alcohol (including shots) at the bar which also functions as the main entrance area. When I asked about the dodgy customer, I was told "he's here a lot" and "he's ok".

Great food but unfortunately not a great experience.

I had forgotten how amazing Thai food is when it's done this well! "Yellow curry dish of bean curd and sweet potato in coconut milk served with steamed Jasmine rice" was so beautiful.

I had dropped in for an express lunch while I was in Remuera on an errand, and thought I could justify the $13.50 for the curry. But then I got all greedy and spent another $5.50 when I spotted an entree that twisted my arm: The very more-ish dipping sauce of crushed peanuts & cucumber with Deep fried fish cakes was so tasty.

I liked sitting beside the calming water-feature, and enjoyed the lightness of the restaurant, with a view out through the glass wall full of windows, to a lot of greenery.

Definitely will return for dinner. My only critique is that it was a little hard to find.

This restaurant is one of the best in Auckland. The environment is very nice. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is fantastic. The staff are professional and very polite and friendly. I really enjoyed my dinner at Thai Village.

I went to Thai Village with my boyfriend. The staff was friendly and helpful when we asked them about their recommendations. We ordered curry and pad thai noodles. They were very delicious! I love noodles and this was the best pad thai noodles I ever had in Auckland! I recommend anyone who loves pad thai noodles to try this place out.

Been there on numerous times as a big group and as a dinner for 2 and it's always been great! Great food, friendly service and beautiful atmosphere (love the little hut outside).
Love the dessert, the hot banana fritters is a must have!

Excellent food and ambiance. However, don't rely on the online reservation system. We made a reservation on the day required but no confirmation email received. Fortunately we were accommodated!

Dinner | 25th March 2011 | Great food, great service and great value for money! This, in addition to the vibrant decor makes this a very pleasant restaurant to dine at.

Highly recommended if you love really good Thai food with superb flavours and aromas.

My girl friend recommended this restaurant for our dinner. The food and service were wonderful. I ordered mild tom yum and red curry and they were all perfect!

I and my friends are always on the hunt for Thai food. This is our favorite in Auckland. We normally order their flaming chicken and chicken green curry. We have never been disappointed about the quality of food and services despite the fact that we have been their customers more than two years.

Thai Village is a fantastic Thai restaurant. I and my family have dinner at the Thai Village regularly. The service is spectacular and the food is fresh and large portioned. Anything can be adjusted to your personal requests. I think Chicken Yellow Curry here must be one of the best :)

My last meal at this restaurant was two months ago with my best friend. This place is great. The owners are so friendly. They can make anything you request. The food is beautiful, fresh, and delicious. I will go there again if I have a chance :)

Have eaten dinner here twice in the past 4 months with my family. The food is wonderfully fresh and fragrant and the service is very attentive. Even on a busy Friday night when we didn't have a reservation they found space for us. A little more expensive than the average Thai restaurant, but would definitely return.

Was recommended by Thai Tourist Board.
Very disappointing, food was average and service was terrible. Was not that busy and had to wait very long time. I would not return

I went here with my family for my mum's birthday dinner. We went on a Monday night and the place was super busy which shows this restaurant's popularity. I really love Thai food! I've tried many Thai restaurants in Auckland and I have to say this was one of the best (second to Moo Chow Chow). We ordered numerous dishes to share and everything tasted delicious.

For starters we had the mixed appetisers, chicken satay and the spring rolls. For mains we ordered the flaming chicken which was one of the best I've ever had and it is literally served on fire! We also had the green and red curries which were both full of flavour. Our seafood dish was the whole steamed fish with lemon sauce which was super yummy! We also had the garlic and pepper pork which was really good as well. We didn't try any of the desserts though because we were super full and we had brought a cake with us which the staff kindly decorated with fruit.

The only downside to Thai Village was the service. They were really understaffed and I really felt for the waiters as they were constantly on the go. We were always trying to flag them down to get their attention.
