Review Peel To Pip Cafe - Auckland Central

Cute courtyard at this cafe. Good range of items on the menu as well as some yum looking cabinet options. Portions are a reasonable size and pretty yum. There are other places for better breakfasts but I come here to sit in the back section to have a coffee and relax. Good for kids as well.

Happy to find a hidden gem in Kingsland. Super friendly staff and good ambience. Surprisingly quiet and cozy inside. Full of yummy looking sandwich and bakery stuff in the cabinet. Popular items on the menu as well. Egg bene and mushrooms on sourdough were delightful and coffee was thumbs up. One thing I do mind is cutlery in a jar on each table. For hygienic reasons I don't like using it.

Very nice experience, great with light meals on ZGold. Very very cheap pricing but comes with smaller portions. More than fair. I love their restaurant layout and also has a kids play area. Service: 4/5 Environment: 4/5 Presentation: 5/5 Food Quality: 4/5 Food Quantity: 5/5 Price per person: $7-$15

Peel To Pip in Morningside is a delightful child friendly cafe with play area. The food cabinets are laden full with delicious sweet and savoury treats. I stopped by for a soy latte and to enjoy a raspberry cheesecake brownie and I thoroughly enjoyed my sweet treat. The espresso was exceptional too. Staff was very friendly and food and beverage delivery was very prompt and efficient. I particularly liked the opportunity to donate to the NZ Blindness Society with a Credit debut card donation device at the counter.

Nice and cosy place for coffee and quick bites... the staff is so sweet and helpful every time I keep visiting it... they made great coffee, like the flat white with almond milk or soy I use to have and pretty good salads, pies and snacks... everything is great here as the prices as well... one of my favorite destinations for coffee in the area...

This cafe has a great play zone out the back for kiddies! They can keep themselves entertained the entire coffee. And beautiful food and drinks.

Great coffee, lovely atmosphere, fantastic play area for children and delicious food!! Some great healthy food options at reasonable prices!!

Food is really good, coffee is really good. And the girls that work there are always friendly and pleasant.

Great friendly service! Part of my group had already turned up before us and although we didn't book, they were ready and willing to accommodate us. Food was great and all freshly made with a good range of vegetarian options for those that don't eat meat. If you don't fancy what's on the menu, they have a wonderful selection at the counter. There is a play area for the kids which kept them occupied throughout our meal too! Best hot chocolate I've had in a long time! I would recommend it to anyone.

Peel to pip is a welcoming cafe overlooking a small park. A heater keeps the cafe warm in winter, while there is a small deck where diners can soak up the sun in summer. Gentle music and plants (real and imitation) add atmosphere. There is a play area for children, and a toilet. There is a range of food at moderate prices.

Excellent coffee, quick And pleasant service.

These guys serve eighthirty coffee which already rates in my book. Super nice and reasonably priced food in a city that's gone snobby.

Been there several times. Always great food and nice relaxed setting. Cool tea cosies too!

Absolutely wonderful cafe! You are always greeted with a warm and friendly Hello! Lots of yummy cabinet food to choose from (the chicken sandwich omg), scrummy brunch menu (I need to branch out from eggs benedict one day, but the bacon is too good!), and my favourite - eighthirty coffee! Made to perfection as well - I'm pretty fussy with my coffee and I've come here on at least ten different occasions, and every time my coffees have been spot on! Also a big thanks to the staff for giving my baby Samuel a cuddle so I could finish my coffee- he loves seeing you all! (Especially on our early Sunday morning coffee dates while Daddy sleeps in - can't wait until he's old enough for a fluffy!) xo

Love this place! I pop in for a coffee (and to be honest, usually a cake) on the way to work as often as I can. It's the only place with easy parking on the way into town from out West. And the coffee is delicious. Have been in for brunch a couple of times too, they have a lovely, interesting menu and plenty of gluten free options for my celiac daughter.

We went for brunch last weekend and it was an absolute delight. I had the eggs benedict with bacon and the holindase was some of the best I've ever had. My friend had a bagel with whipped feta and avocado and said it was delicious. The coffee was great. The cafe itself is pretty and seems very family friendly. Would highly recommend and will be going back soon.

So child friendly it's amazing. From the kids menu to the toys. Great service and coffee

The staff were too kind! We ordered two kinds of sandwiches and blueberry smooth. The smoothie tasted very healthy, and all the food was delicious, so I ate it full. We will visit again next time.

Good environment and food. Easy to use Zomato Gold. There are 3 off street parking in front of the store and more opposite the road. ordered Egg Benedicts with Salmon. Portion is smaller than I expected. But thet were tasty. It would be good if there's some avocado inside.
Frimz.r
Cute and nice cafe. Wanted to be here from very long and was always skeptic to come, however zomato gold helped it😂😂.. But at the end was worth going, enjoyed my brunch. The best part is they understand parents need some time alone, they have a kids play section also👍👍👍

This is a surprisingly good place to get some work done during the day - their coffees are kind of average, but smoothies a lot better.<br/><br/>Their food has too many greens for a unhealthy person like me but I'm sure someone loves it.
Jake Ingledew
Orders for two, and the food took a while to come out and once the food came I reminded someone about my coffee and it came out after the food was served. Food was okay but small serving size but the coffee was so burnt.

Don’t be deceived by the small appearance, this place has a nice courtyard on the side that is kid-friendly. Absolutely recommend for families. The eggs bene had a layer of rosti under the bacon and egg. Delicious surprise! You get a good dose of hollandaise sauce which I love! My sister ordered the big breakfast and was satisfied. This meal will keep you going to the end of the day. Great service,<br/>homey ambience.

Staff/service: 5/5<br/>Venue: 4/5<br/>Price/portion: 4/5<br/><br/>We ordered mocha, the mocha’s coffee is on weak side. Not too sure if it’s double shot for the large size. The french toast was not bad taste. The eggs Benedict was drowning in hollandaise sauce and lack of something refreshing due to too much sauce. The creamed kale and potato hash is sandwiched between the toast.<br/><br/>Join Zomato Gold and get 1+1 on food or 2+2 on drinks. Also get a 20% OFF using my referral code SUMA8564P

Awesome kids area suitable for all ages. Plenty of space if you needed to lay a baby down or for sitters and crawlers. Toddlers had a ball in the kitchen. Nice open space to watch from too. Very good soy mocha and cure fluffy in an egg cup. Nice selection of sweets and salads and good prices. Only downside is funding street parking.

While as a mum this place is beyond family friendly with a fantastic area for kids to play. But what any tired mum really wants is a good strong coffee. Coffee was very Milky. I had the eggs Benedict with the potatoe waffle which I enjoyed. But it differently need more bacon

Lovely coffee. The food however was such a disappointment. I ordered the poached eggs on sourdough with relish ($9.5) and a side of bacon ($4.5.) I was served two undercooked eggs, cold sourdough(not even toasted) and very soggy and a a piece of bacon that wouldn’t be filling even for a mouse. (Pictures attached.) Needless to say that even thought this establishment is beautiful inside, I will not be returning whilst food is served like this. I had to leave the food it was that bad.<br/>Last thing, nobody came to check on my meal even though it had been left on the side barley touched and not a busy afternoon.

I usually get coffee here but this time I thought I would sit. The breakfast with black pudding, it was well put together and loved every bite of it. The coffees were great too. Cool kids area that makes it easy for parents to go have lunch and have the kids well entertained. I will be back there keep this dish on the menu or just he black pudding.

I ordered the eggs benedict which came with bacon, kale, hollandaise and a base of potato waffles. I appreciated the fresh, creative take on the classic dish but unfortunately the results were not my personal favourite. The eggs were well cooked and the bacon was crispy. The other elements however did not surpass my eggspectations. Upon consumption the potato waffles turned to a mashed potato consistency which didnt do much to contrast with the softness of the egg and everything else. They had little flavour and were almost overpowered by the cooked kale. The hollandaise had a quite nice zest to it but was a bit too thick for me. I like the idea of the waffles but I think the desired crispiness just wasn't there and could have really used a toasted bread as a base or else all the textures are much too similar. The coffee was good and the service was very friendly. I probably would return but would not order this again.

Coffee was exceptional! Mushroom, feta and sourdough dish was delicious. Kimchi slaw dish was could do with a bit more flavour/dressing but still worth the money.<br/>Extremely kid friendly, friendly staff and nice use of a smaller space.

Went yesterday for brunch. Food coffee and ambiance good. Child friendly. Mocha and Hot Chocolate very watery. Probably not a place I would go to again.
Foodie Chronicles
The food is really nice and made with high quality ingredients.  Service is always really friendly and the coffee is great.  Seems to be a nice quiet place for such a child friendly café.

Glorious coffee, dependably delicious food and the perfect atmosphere for Sunday morning, whether it's coffee and a book or brunch with friends. The creative twists on standards are so good – the current iteration of pancakes (lemon pancakes, with lemon curd and raspberry sherbet) are incredible. Love the herbs and veges growing along behind the main stretch of tables too.

Came here for brunch with friends yesterday. It was quite busy with a lot of mums and their kids, but the service was still friendly and quick. I ordered the mushrooms with whipped feta and sourdough. It was lovely and flavoursome, but it could have done with a little less feta. My friends had the avocado and almond bagel, and the pumpkin, brie and caramelised onion panini, which were all lovely.  There were a couple of salads in the cabinet which looked tempting for another time too! The cafe has pretty fairy lights and plants, which made it a really nice setting to be in. The food was relatively inexpensive too. Safe to say we will be back! Nice job Peel to Pip!

The petite white bungalow on the corner of New North Road and Morningside Drive has had a brand new fitout it seems — what used to be a quaint eatery called Fat Boy Thai has been redressed with palette benches, string lights and a real, massive canopy of cherry tomatoes. We spent a large part of the time oogling at the budding fruit above us, wondering if customers ever sneaked a few from its vines. <br/><br/>The menu had its café staples — french toast and eggs bene, but then you’ve got some interesting goodies peppered throughout — sunny eggs with flatbread, hummus and tzatziki, black pudding(!) along crushed edamame instead of your normal green peas. Those with a sweet tooth can find some kiwiana flavours in the front cabinet: anzac caramel slices, chunky rocky road with dark, dark chocolate… and pineapple lump brownies. Their salted caramel milkshake with caramel popcorn and vanilla bean icecream was definitely a looker — wee bit on the milky side according to Em, but we were willing to forgive that with the wait-staff’s immaculate service and generous servings of avocado roses on our plates.  <br/><br/>Thanks for the sunny seats and flavours, P ’n’ P — we’re glad to be neighbours.<br/><br/>Check out our individual comments here: husk.co.nz/lunches/peel-to-pip-april-2016

Super friendly staff. Yummy cakes and a great bright place to have coffee and kid friendly. Cabinet salads are a good price and generous servings.

The milkshakes are to die for. Chose the Malteser chocolate one this time and it was delicious. I can rate the caramel one too. Service was pleasant, not rushed or slow either. We sat in the cute covered courtyard with a little garden and a play area for kids. I had the eggs with sour dough and a side of rosti. The eggs were lovely and runny but I was not fussed on the rosti, as I prefer a more crunchy rosti than a fish cake type. My partner had the bleat and raved about it. This is a fabulous cafe and we will be frequenting again

Went here for my birthday breakfast with the Family. It was so awesome. They must have let my kids come in the afternoon before hand to decorate. The food was gorgeous and the service on point. Look at this food!<br/>The orange, chocolate pancakes .... yummmy!

So happy when this place opened up, right on my doorstep...even better they have eighthirty coffee. My first few coffees were delicious, after some time away the coffee has become terrible, again I chose to give it another go this morning over Atomic, which is cheaper and never disappointing...however it was once again similar to Sydney coffee which is coffee flavoured milk...very weak indeed. Dissapointed...I hope it improves becasue this is such a cute wee place.

I had brunch here this morning with six others. We had not booked a table and although it was full the very pleasant staff managed to arrange a table for us very quickly. The menu had some interesting dishes, including my choice - smoked kahawai on seeded toast with lemon creme fraiche, lemon marmalade and roasted capers. Delicious, and envied by my fellow diners. Hot drinks arrived quickly and were actually hot. We will definitely be back, thanks.

Came past here by accident since I was visiting a business next door. It's a bit out of the way so lacked foot traffic, but it has a unique "pretty" style and feel about it. Everything is flowers and overly feminine. Perfect for the ladies of P Rd and if you lifted this place up and put it on P Rd it would be continuously busy :-) Plenty of seating, with an internal courtyard, food options looked good. Cabinet selection was great. My salad was fabulously tasty but I was surprised and put off to find some chicken knuckles in my salad, a bit more care required please. The coffee was great (eightthirty) and service was friendly, an awesome addition to the neighbourhood!

Came here for breakfast. It was very busy so had high hopes. Ordered the spiced eggs. The eggs were very undercooked so put me off straight away. My partner had the mushrooms and said it was ok but a little too heavy with lemon.

The food is delicious (I had a BLEAT) and a chocolate shake with M&M's. Very friendly staff and we did not have to wait long for service. This is a new cafe in Morningside with lovely decor and a garden with herbs. We will be returning.

Went for breakfast. Had eggs Ben and coffee. Quality was ok and service was prompt but place a bit short on atmosphere. Well set up for families w young children. Eight Thirty coffee excellent.

What a lovely experience on a Sunday morning!<br/><br/>First off, the service was awesome. Really friendly and helpful staff, they really made a great impression. <br/><br/>The cafe is fresh and airy, making good use of their little villa-like location. I was quite impressed by the thriving tomato plant growing out above the tables! There is also an adorable play area for kids. <br/><br/>The food was amazing. I had the spelt waffles with stonefruit, berry and thyme syrup and cheesecake cream. Delicious! Waffles tasty and not at all stodgy, a variety of stonefruit cooked to falling-apart and just tart enough to cut through the richness and sweetness of the cheesecake cream. Waffles or pancakes with fruit and cream is a common-enough cafe staple, but this was really something different and special. <br/><br/>(They also provided a generously sized bottle of maple syrup, which I appreciated!)<br/><br/>I had a milkshake with breakfast (I prefer smoothies to coffee) and had the summer berries one. It looked fancy and was yummy. I liked that they made a point of letting me know WHICH summer berries went into it. The rest of the milkshake menu looked decadent and I'm keen to work through it!<br/><br/>My husband enjoyed eggs benedict and said his black pudding side was excellent. <br/><br/>Parking was easy on New North Rd at 9am-ish, although it would probably be busy later. <br/><br/>I'm keen to return. Slightly too expensive to be a weekly regular, but the prices aren't exorbitant for the better-than-the-usual menu.

Been to this café for breakfast a few times and we enjoy the interesting twist to the meals. My personal favourite is ‘Portabello & Chestnut Mushrooms with whipped Feta’ and my husband likes the ‘Spiced Eggs’. Love the indoor garden and watching the tomatoes ripening. Great coffee; one before and one after the meal of course. I think it is a great addition to the café scene.

Really lovely staff, and really nice food. We had the smoked fish eggs bene and the mushrooms on toast. Both arrived promptly and hot - coffee was great too. Will go back =)
Jackie Brown-Haysom
The coffee is good, the service fast and friendly, the décor fun, the menu tantalising - and the cream cheese topping on the stone fruit waffles truly magical. The menu is based around old favourites, but with subtle twists that really lift them out of the ordinary. And everything is sustainable/fair trade/free range, so it's indulgence with a clear conscience.  Will be back.
Brittany Nealie
This place is new and amazing! I was so impressed with the beautiful service. Yum food and delightful people - going back to try the whole menu!!

Great new addition to Kingsland/Morningside!<br/>They have done an excellent job with the new fit out which is bright and spacious, with tomato vines growing over head in the court yard, and even a place for kids to play. <br/>The menu and cabinet food is good, with an excellent selection of healthy options. And the eight Thirty coffee was good too! <br/>The staff/owners were attentive and friendly. Will definitely return.

Service is really awesome. Had the seeded load with whipped feta, avo and freshly sliced tomatoe. So delicious! Friend had the BLEAT and chocolate berry shake - amazing. Heaps of parking, good atmosphere and most important a clean bathroom! Will be back X

Excellent new neighbourhood cafe in an area there hasn't been much. Really friendly service, great coffee and lovely fresh decor with a covered outside seating area and a few free parks right outside. I had the spiced eggs which were excellent though almost a little too spicey (and I like hot!) so only order if you are up for it! Ingredients were fresh and plating modern. Will return.

A great new addition to the heart of Morningside - Peel to Pip. I saw a review on Denizen and it made me feel like "i want to go there next time". Was definitely worth it. Friendly staff, smiles and greetings as soon as we came in. Lovely food with good sized portions and amazing taste. Also liked those little gardens at the back and growing on the side strawberries. :)<br/>Will definitely be back!

Really bright and sunny spot run by an awesome due Briar & Jesse. Service was excellent and food was delish. Had to try the salted caramel shake which in no way dissapointed. Had the Bleat.. which was beautifully presented and tasted so good. Crispy bacon done perfectly! Defo be back to try out the menu with the whole family at the weekend.

Thought I'd check this place out after The Denizen write-up.  Had the Portobello and chestnut mushrooms with whipped feta, pistachio dukkah and sourdough accompanied by an awesome Eighthirty coffee. Both were great, as was the service which was effecient and friendly. Had to splash out on the salted caramel and popcorn milkshake mentioned in Denizen (i know, a bit decadent for 9am) and it did not disappoint. Thanks guys , will see you again soon.
