Great chicken & the burgers do feel cleaner than your average burger joint. Overall a great feed ! Thanks !

Great food. The vegetarian options were a little but limited but the ones we tried were very tasty. Friendly staff as well. Worth a try for anyone in the area.

Went here using First Table to get 50% off. The burger and loaded fries were great. I’d avoid the wings (but dry and not the best seasoning). The beer we tried was also great and it’s a cool little area. I do like how all the shop fronts are the kitchens and you eat in the middle atrium. I’d recommend a trip!

Food here was definitely worth its money! Ordered Hot Chicken Sando, Mac daddy and both burgers did not disappoint, buns and burger fillings were nice and fresh, also ordered half & half wings low brow OG + Hot Spice and both tasted exactly as described on the menu - wings were crispy and juicy 🤤

I loved this place, the food was amazing, and the service excellent. Thank you for everything, I'll be back again soon.

The best burger in town. The burger bun is the star of night . This is my go to place for a comfort burger and cocktail. Can get a seat with view of sky tower if it’s not too crowded .

Great spot & we'll keep secret! The chicken is fantastic, with an interesting selection of beers... I went for lunch, so allow an hour to enjoy your surroundings this is not fast food.😄 Four stars.

THE pints on tap in St Kevin’s Arcade! Proper brews to have with proper bros 🍻 I hadn’t been back in 15 years and seeing the pints flow in the heart of K road was brilliant. Chill staff, good vibes and crunchy wings.

Been here twice now burgers and fries were very nice very spicy chicken. Tried the dessert last time and it was very lacklustre too expensive for the tiniest scoop of ice cream in a small glass Waiters could be better at serving people that come to eat.

We came by for dinner in St. Kevins Arcade to try out Nook but were pleasantly surprised when we were able to order from both Lowbrow and Nook. We took up the offer and ordered an 8 pack of wings. We were able to get half and half so half was the original and the other the mild and smokey. The wings came in a bucket which was interesting. The original was really tasty. The mild and spicy wasn't as nice since it didn't seem to stand out. We were also able to use the bucket to take away the leftover wings. The seating area was in between both restaurants with menus for both of them. The waiter came by to take our orders and serve us the food. It was nice to have the option of food from two different restaurants and being able to mix and match it for dinner.

Very busy, but well worth the wait. The burgers are flavourful and their chips delightfully crisp. They have a quality selection of drinks.

LOVE THIS SPOT AND LOVE JP THE MANAGER! He gave us fantastic service, took his suggestions for sandwiches (buffalo is the BOMB right down to the toastiness of the bun, chicken was crispy n saucy all at once!!!), reasonably priced, some sweet stuff and crisp beers on tap in a beautiful art-deco-esque open concept mini mall to top it all off. GO HERE! ❤️ Claire and Colin the Canadians

I enjoy eating here, and I always enjoy the food. Staff were friendly and engaged, and seemed genuinely pleased to be operating. the hot chicken sandwich was just a joy to eat, and their take on a gin and tonic (of which I had a couple) was awesome. Casual, funky dining and never had a bad meal.

I had heard so much about this place and was pumped to give it a go. Low Brow certainly lived up to all the hype, this chicken burger was unreal, too it all off with a sawmill pale ale and you have a recipe for success. We will be back soon for sure. James Ashwin Kakapo Business Sales

Great burger, with an excellent patty and sauce. Curly fries slapped hard on the outside, and soft like Charmine on the inside. Friendly and laid back vibe customer service. Enjoy a chill date or a solo bolo burger.

If you're in K road and you want a drink and good fried chicken, this is IT. Hip, trendy, fun, with terrific food. Go go go.

Best fried chicken in town and I loved the tap beer which was served in a chilled glass! This picture is telling you everything. Try this place, you will not be disappointed.

Food was amazing & would definitely go back! Food was so fresh and tasty! Could not fault anything about the food!

I have traveled over the world, and the food here is up with the best in taste. Some may say this is soul food... If you are from, or traveled through the US, you know what I mean by 'soul food.' As some of the other reviews have commented on, the wings!!!! You gotta try the wings!! All the best for your business. I will be back soon:)

Best fried chicken I have eaten, cant wait for opening.

I only came here for the fried chicken

Good hearty burgers, they look small but they’re stacked very well. Very filling and definitely satisfies. The coleslaw was crispy even with the dressing. Well seasoned kumara fries and delivery was pretty fast as well.

Off the chain! Definitely worth checking out

My friend and I went to eat here for the third time. It’s such a lovely place, I love the neon signs and also the artwork on the walls. Seating is intimate, although there isn’t a lot of space I think it’s a nice area to have a meal with a few friends. I ordered the chicken Sando, the chicken thigh was lovely and crispy and not dry. It had great flavouring. One thing I hate about ordering burgers and sandwiches is that the bun can sometimes be soggy, this was not the case at lowbrow. The bun was nice and crispy!

I have to criticise the chip portions, I strongly believe that for what you are paying it’s not worth the portion size. Other than this critique I would definitely come back and eat there, I’ve also brought my other friends to this place and they’ve loved
Renie
The fried chicken and burger was so good! They have their special seasoning/sauce which makes it more unique. Location was a bit hard to find at the start but overall would recommend :)

After eating the Parma Jamma’ (vege burger) on the 11th of December I got fast acting food poisoning. It has lasted three days so far and has totally wrecked me. I am 100% sure it was the burger. The place is nice enough, obviously not my kind of food (being vegetarian), I was there for a friends lunch who had just graduated. There was one staff member working for this lunch shift, he was helpful enough. If I didn’t get food poisoning, I would say this place and the food was ok. However, this was not my experience.
Ati
I honestly wasn’t a fan. The burger felt like an over glorified KFC burger and the pickles were a huge miss. The aioli was too acidic for my liking.

The garlic bread was fluffy and an interesting rendition. The curly fries were well seasoned, but a little pale.
Came in on Thursday with Sam. I craved for some spicy and sour snack because I didn't have an appetite. I found the spicy and sour cabbage on the menu and decided to gve it a try. It was actually quite spicy but I loved it. We also used the niesh deal where you get free fries with your sandwich. Music was quite loud but I guess that was just a vibe. Loved the lights though.
Karl Heinemann
We used the Niesh app for free fries :)) nice and prompt service too :))

First time going to queens rise and what a surprise. Had no idea this place was hidden up here.

Ribeye carpaccio was delicious i smashed it back on my own but could see me buying more sharing plates with a group definitely a must try.

I was after the o-fush but they hadn’t any fish on stock so i went with the hot chicken sando. It was so good i could barely stop eating it. The chips and malt vinegar mayo are a must add on here.

Cocktail and beer selection ok. Will be back for the fish and natural wines another time.

Friendly service and very fast food out at 6pm on a tuesday

Got it on Uber eats and absolutely loved it. Can't wait to try the other burgers 🙌🏼

$16 for an average fish in a bun? Robbed.

Had the fried chicken burger today and it was delicious! Such a thick generous piece of chicken that was so crunchy and flavoursome! The brioche bun was soft and fresh and the mayo so yum! Definitely will be coming back and so close to my work!

I’d been wanting to come here ever since Queen’s Rise first opened, so I was very happy that I finally got the opportunity to visit.

We ordered a Macdaddy Sando, O.G Chicken Sando (both with free fries on the side thanks to the Niesh app), a Lowbrow Original Wing, a Hot Spice Wing, and the $5 Pork Chicharron happy hour deal.

The macdaddy was just like a standard cheeseburger, but still flavourful and great. The O.G chicken sando was my favourite, the flavour was amazing and the chicken was incredible juicy, I also loved the addition of the pickles. We left the two wings to eat after we were almost done with the sandwiches and they were surprisingly still hot. Both were beautiful and succulent. The pork chicharron was a nice, light addition to snack on. Very airy, crispy, and refreshing when paired with the tomatillo sauce. A fulfilling and delicious meal overall.

Service was friendly and efficient, a fun area to dine in with the fluorescent lights and posters.

Came here on a spontaneous trip a few days ago. Had the best experience! I’ve seen so many people rave about this place on Instagram and I would say it’s very much worth the hype!

I Got the old bae And the fried birthday cake. The Sando Had the juiciest fried chicken with cornflakes and it was very refreshing to have slices of the courgettes in it too! Definitely want to try some Of the other flavours some other time. I loved the birthday cake, it was nice and crispy and the cake was very soft. It was a lovely contrast with the ice cream, they also give you sprinkles on the side however they’re a bit difficult to get out Of the shaker.

Absolutely loved the service! Our waitress was super friendly and really helpful in giving recommendations!

Food: 5/5
Service: 5/5
Chary1235
The staff and the ambience is very good, however the food is more on the pricier side (that said, the food is very good).

I have been here twice. The MacDaddy and the O' Fush were both pretty good but the cheese fries were pretty average. Their fried chicken wings are delicious and fried to perfection. The ol' spice isn't too spicy and the lowbrow original is also pretty good. That said, the chicken is kind of pricey so would recommend you either go starving or with a group of friends.

Overall, would definitely recommend as a nice social dinner spot, the prices are higher than some other spots in town but the food quality is definitely also pretty high.

Great lunch time staple here! The nuggets are insanely good. Had the spicy chicken sandwich with fries for lunch and it was so good I ended up coming back again for dinner!
James
Great location. The chips were really good, some of the best in the CBD. Also had the "Old Bae" burger. It was nice, but it didn't justify the price. Extremely expensive for a basic 3-4 ingredient burger.
Kirsten
Ordered a couple of sandos, the bacon and cheese fries, shoestring fries and the wings! The O'Fush sando I had was so crispy and crunchy with the tempura batter they used. The market fish was fresh; melted on your tongue and was soft. Nice slice of Swiss cheese and a whole lot of tartare sauce! The bacon and cheese fries were definitely the right fit with the sandos! It was my first time dining at Queens Rise/Lowbrow and I'm glad to say that I'll definitely come back here again!

We are frequent visitors to Lowbrow and absolutely love going there the service is outstanding, the staff is extremely friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious. Best Spicy Wings in Auckland!!!!
Darren Big Belly
Got a big order from here with ubereats.
The bucket of wings 4/5. Has interesting flavours but it was strong enough.
Chicken nuggets 4/5. So crunchy but kind of like a chicken pattie with batter around it and deep fried.
OG chicken sandwich 5/5. Very nice
💓 K
Staff are super friendly and environment is nice. All their food are delicious but a little bit overpriced and too oily... I ordered a pack of Nuggs (6 pieces $11) which to be honest it’s not as great as McDonalds chicken nugget 😂 and so expensive, a piece of wing ($4) in the Lowbrow original flavors which again I would prefer KFC 🙈, a cheese fries ($10) that one was yum! And a Lowbrow iced tea w vodka ($13) really tasty
Jonathan Clark
Order the hot chicken sando. The way I would describe it: it's like the McDonald's Big Mac and Mc Chicken had a baby, crank up the quality x100 (ultra crispy chicken thigh, McClure's pickles, Mac Sauce, etc), add a good amount of spice, then serve hot. If that doesn't sell it to you... just try it for yourself, it's delicious! 5/5
Tan.ned
Staff was friendly but kept pushing us to get more food which is kind of off putting. The food portions was waaay too small for the price. For 25 bucks you'd atleast expect something of a decent size. That brisket was tiny. It did taste really tender though. Good flavours. I also like the addition of nuts to the coleslaw. Nice extra crunc
Totally Fried NZ
We got totally fried at LOWBROW.

It’s a fact, fried chicken served in a bucket tastes bucket loads better than if served in any other vessel. And honestly, we could review this place in one sentence and say Lowbrow. is bomb and you should stop what you’re doing and get there ASAP. Seriously, just go.
You know those places that just look too slick to be serving crap food? This is one of them.

Lowbrow’s bucket is overflowing with giant wings, not your usual runty wicked wings where you question how old the chicken was before it died for your lunch. The wings are juicy, the batter is crispy and the seasoning has a little sweetness to it. The spicy wings have a definite kick and come with a ramekin of ranch dressing which, depending on how much of a wimp you are, is either a nice complement to the spice or a much needed saviour from the fiery heat.

The fried chicken sando is a solid item with a juicy fried chicken thigh, pickles, mayo and lettuce all slapped between a sesame seed potato roll. The pickles give a nice tang, the lettuce some crunch and really it’s just a beautiful harmony of flavours and textures.

Thankfully Lowbrow doesn’t skimp on the napkins because you need about fifty-three of them. They’re also thoughtful enough to provide a water bowl for you greasy fingers - definitely needed. And the service was just as meticulous as their secret spice blend.

Ironically, a place called Lowbrow has set the bar so high.

Overall: 4.5/5

We had:
Fried Chicken Sandwich
Bucket of 8 wings (6 original and 2 spicy)
- $42

Was pleasantly surprised with Lowbrow. I got the fried fish sandwich and my friend got the OG chicken sandwich. We were both really happy with the taste. The chips were unreal. My burger was supposed to be spicy but it wasn’t overly spicy. The vibe was really good in there. Came with a friend on Sunday afternoon, the place was a ghost town which meant our food came out really quickly. Have been back here more than once and each time very impressed.
#fatlyfe
Have decided to invest in meal pal. Lowbrow was first on the list. They had a fried chicken burger/sandwich on offer today. The chicken was juicy and soft and crispy on the outside. Basically like the BK chicken but just better chicken 😳 So glad I got it except for the fact that I think someone might have accidentally dropped quite a bit of salt in my food....... that didn’t stop me though I just pushed it to the side and ate my food cause I wasn’t wasting anything!!!
Also tried the resturant month- sando was really tasty came with fries and a brownie sundae I just wanted more brownie!!
Luigi
It was such a nice environment and the staff were super friendly. I just think the Old Bae burger was pretty salty, the OG Chicken Sando juicy, but overpriced & overall not worth the money. What was the redeeming factor was the Nacho Pickle Fries. So well worth it and such a bomb side. A Must if you go.

This place was a great find after walking around Queen Street. I had the delicious LowBrow Iced Tea and Strawberry Waffle sundae - the fries and garlic bread were delicious too! Great place to catchup with friends.

Famous for their fried chicken and hearty foods, we came here and tried just that, and it wasn't bad.

The chicken wings it self were pretty phenomenal, spices were on point and the chicken was very moist. Everything else wasn't so memorable, but I would be back for their wings again.

Gets super busy during lunch time as it is surrounded by offices, so be early or be ready to wait.

We got the pickle poppers, fried chicken sandwich, fries and brisket sandwich. My fav would have to be the beef brisket sandwich. A soft sesame bun with slaw (added pickles) cheese and mac sauce. Tasted like a big mac on steroids. SO YUM!! Awesome atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. Will be back to try more!
Rob
A nice restaurant upstairs from Queens St. My favourite was the fried chicken wings but be warned their spicy is actually spicy (we got the half and half which made it better).

Excellent food, service was fairly fast and friendly staff. The Pork Chicharron was tasty with just the right crunch to the bite. The Fried Chicken sandwich was superb - the chicken was juicy and tender in the inside and crispy on the outside. The bun was so soft and the overall taste of the sandwich was just great. Very keen to try the other food from the menu.
Tanz
The restaurant that’s located in unique and beautiful building in Auckland city. I’ve read and heard that their fried chicken were good so I gave it a try. $15 for 4 chicken wings. I chose spicy flavor and it was alright. Not too spicy but you still can taste some spices. It went really well with the sauce they gave - lift up the taste to another level.
SpoonMe
Great place to get a roll or some wings and share a bunch of sides with lots of people.
I’ve tried their Chicken and Fish roll and both were great. The sides are pretty funky and not your normal “chips” and “green salad” which is great to try something different for a change.
The reason why I give this a 4 and not a 5 is that the staff were not that friendly. I can’t justify for them saying that it was busy etc because it was pretty quiet. Other than that all is good!
Jayson Yan
Rocked into Lowbrow in search of a quick/small bite and was blown away by how good the food was.

First off, the ambience and decor were spot on, the neon lights gave a good pop to the contemporary design of the place.

Service was top notch, chatty and attentive waitress brought a laid back overall experience.

Now the food, I reckon is the crown jewel for Lowbrow. Their Brisket Burgers/Sandwiches are Godsend. Super juicy and tender beef patties, along with a very tangy and refreshing sauce and greens. Their fries are amazingly fresh too and would be a thing to crave for.

In terms of the price, a tad on the dear side but the food and experience makes it all worth it. Would definitely return to try some of the other great offerings here at Lowbrow!
Miss K
Exceeded my expectations! The natural wine SLASH hot chicken pairing has been done and done and done so I wasn’t expecting anything ground breaking.. and then I had the beef burger and the fried fish sandwich. Boy, they were both amazing! The chicken wings were also delicious - nothing ground breaking but very good. Wine selection is decent - all the regular names in the natural wine game can be found (BK, Supernatural, Hermit Ram..) a good option on queen street
The Poor Foodie
I went there myself for dinner and finished the sandwich within 10 mins. The plate was still lukewarm ☺️

Everyone told me to go to lowbrow and now I know why. Fried chicken sandwich was superb. The sesame bun was warm and soft. Fried chicken had a crispy skin but super juicy and tender inside (I was too excited and probably too hungry so I had a massive bite of the sandwich and almost burnt my tongue🙄) not a big fan of pickles but the courgette pickles and mayo in the sandwich were surprisingly good:)

Finished my dinner within 10 mins (probably the waiting time was even longer than my dining time)
Good environment with groovy music and neon light so good for catching up with friends but hard to take a nice picture coz it’s quite dark

Food: 5/5
Service: 5/5

It's ok I guess but for the price charged, you expect more than that. Service was excellent, no issues there. The food was average to be honest. The brisket sandwich was flavoursome. However charging extra for pickles is just a bit mean really. Tempura fish sandwich was tasty. Ceviche was absolutely tiny for what you pay for it - and the fish wasn't particularly fresh. White bread tacos were yum. Everything was quite salty - my heart was thumping afterwards.

This place does epic wings and sandwiches. And the mains are out of this world. Also all the desserts are delicious too. This place is my new Auckland favourite.

Food was pretty good, fries were nice, except for the chicken burger, there was a knuckle or something in it that made me never want to eat chicken again

Went there for dinner with my partner today and I must say that we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Like Culprit, I would recommend that you pick out a few plates to share. We ordered a 4 piece chicken wing set (spicy and original mix), ribeye carpaccio, bowtie puttanesca pasta and a fried birthday cake to share. The service there was very attentive and each dish that we ate was delicious. My compliments to Jordan Macdonald, Kyle Street and their team!

Original wings - 5/5 (seasoning was soooo yum)
Spicy wings - 3.5/5 (a bit too powdery for my liking)
Ceviche tacos - 3.5/5 (overpriced, didn’t feel worth it)
Beef sandwich - 5/5 (meat was so juicy and sauce was out of this world - shoestring fries paired great)
Fried birthday cake - 5/5 (soooo yum, soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside)

Instagram.com/rubbadubgrub

Went here for dinner on a Wednesday night around 6pm and the place was quite empty but it did fill up very quickly so it seems they are quite popular. Ordered the chicken wings and the fried chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich and chicken wings were both very delicious and the sandwich looks small but is very filling. Probably the BEST chicken wings I’ve ever had and they are huge! For dessert I had the waffle and strawberry sundae and my friend had the fried birthday cake. I found the waffle and strawberry sundae ok and wouldn’t personally order it again. However great customer service and delicious savoury food so would high recommend!

This spot has been bookmarked for a while and I was so happy to finally go visit! Beautiful, little spot in Queens rise, such lovely ambience and friendly staff. Menu is short but has a variety of unique items, I ended up going for the Brisket Sandwich with a side of fries. Firstly the portion size is so generous, I had to take the fries home with me! Fries were super crispy with a generous coating of chicken salt. The sandwich was lovely, beef was juicy and the sauce and sauce tied it in all together. Want to come back soon to try the fried birthday cake!! Also the food is so reasonably priced!!

We’ve been to Queen’s Rise a few times before and always wondered what the food would be like at Lowbrow. Finally had dinner there this evening. Ordered the special fried fish with bones as entree, followed by the chicken sandwich and fish sandwich. The coating on the fish was nice and crispy but all dishes were overly salted and oily. The cooking could use a bit more care. We were disappointed as these dishes should be simple to make, so we expected them to be well-executed. While the service was friendly and the decor inviting, they couldn’t hide the flaws in the food unfortunately. We actually needed some tea afterwards to freshen up. Won’t be going back there. Glad to see that other reviewers had a better experience though.

SPUDS!🍟

Lowbrow was a great place to go, really enjoyed it.

Service at Lowbrow was amazing, table checks were on point, asking how we are doing, how the food is. Just really good. Second I look away and have a bite if my food, my cup is filled with water. A service that i really love and appreciate.

Food at Lowbrow was great but not amazing. I will give it a four star for now. The sandwiches they have are gooooood. But strangely the Smoked Brisket sandwich tasted like a Big Mac. But! Still pretty good.
Now for the fries and dip, god... that dip was heavenly...

Overall very satisfied with service and food.

Cool little place tucked into Queen's Rise. The food seemed interesting when we looked at the menu outside . We ordered the ribeye carpaccio from the waiter's recommendation, and also ordered the white bread tacos and the fried chicken. The carpaccio tasted really good, it tasted similar to a dish that I had in Italy. We got the spicy fried chicken, which although was spices well and tasted great, wasn't spicy at all. It was so juicy though! The white bread tacos was literally fried clams on little white bread pieces. I think the thousand island tasted like a McDs filet o fish. We ended up still being hungry so we ordered an additional side of fries which were crispy, and covered in a generous amount of salt. The service here was need though, the guy seemed really into his job and was super friendly and chatty, but the waitress not so much. She wasn't rude though, pro just had a long day. Although the food had great flavours the only issue that we had was that the portions were a little small. Nevertheless, I would still come back here again to try their desserts.
Geoffreymairs
Very nice ambience and great tasting food. Let down by the fact that their sandwiches are too small. If you're after a $20 snack, then you'll love this place, but I expected a bit more for my money.

Located in the new food court - Queens Rise on Queen St, just centrally located for lunch goers. Interior design is beautiful and really colorful, cheerful little place. Managed to grab a table after 1pm which was great although the place was really busy and buzzing. Food presentation and taste is awesome. Delicious fish and chicken meals and really tasty. Our fried chicken sandwich has this honey/herb combination and fresh bread which added real flavor. Love their meals and their awesome friendly service. Great place to grab lunch ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The good: The smoked beef brisket patty, melted cheese and fillings in the sandwich blew my socks off.

The not so good: I felt the sandwich was small (for $13) and not that filling and the bun got soggy very quickly. Coleslaw omn the side was ok just seemed to have vinegar as dressing so quite sour.

The shoestring fries were decent tasting, but a bit overcooked edging on brown.

The kumara salad was crunchy - perhaps not a good variety of kumara to use? It was pale and not particularly sweet. Maybe just undercooked or out of season? Dressing on it was tasty.

Verdict: Try the brisket sandwich - it's fantastic!
Hello.jennie
Because I love Culprit I had to try out Lowbrow:

Hot fish sandwich - dang this is a delicious sandwich. Annoyed I had to share half with my friend. The bread is so insanely soft, the fish is so tender and the coating is light and crispy, the hot spice and pickles balances perfectly with the lemon pepper mayo, everything just jams so well with each other 10/10 would consume again (and not sharing with anyone)

Fried chicken wings - these are some amazing fried chicken wings. I always say that nothing ever beats KFC’s wicked wings but dang i would pay $30 for 10 of these. Firstly the wings are MASSIVE like it aint just a nibble of a wing, its the whole wing, tip and all. Definitely get the hot spice because it just brings the chicken to a whole new level and is perfect when dipped in the ranch sauce, which they now give 2 pots of which is plenty to dip (its really great seeing a restaurant that not only reads the reviews but actively improves their dishes to make them better). And how good is it that it comes in a bucket! Although don’t really understand why there are a couple of pieces of bread at the bottom of the bucket? It is for eating? Does it soak up the oil? Should’ve asked the questions but anyway the main point is that the chicken deserves 10/10

White bread tacos - basically small bits of fried clams on white bread that has been sliced into a triangle. Not a fan and definitely not worth $10, at least put a bit more love into the clams and give us a few more pieces! 4/10

If it wasn’t for the tacos I’d rate Lowbrow 5/5

the BEST WINGS AND FRIES I EVER GOT dont even get me started. this woman was staring at me while me n my friend were eating chicken. pls mind ur business i just wanted chicken

Ordered the beef brisket sandwich which was quite delicious, i loved the bread. My friend ordered the fish sandwich with chips, i liked the chips. Food was just average, but planning to go back to try other items on the menu, specially the desserts!

Nice ambience though and service was great!

When I saw the menu I know I had to try the deep fried birthday cake. We ended up going elsewhere for food but came back just for dessert. We were seated inside and it was a bit loud. It did take a few attempts to flag down the waitress to order. Instead of just getting the fried cake, we went with the Double Down sundae which had it all.

The fried cake was almost like a doughnut but not. the soft serve were alright, but though they were a bit grainy. There was also a pudding on the side which was nice. the wafer and waffle cones gave it a nice crunchiness. The fried cake was nicer when hot, it got a bit soggy at the end.

It was quite a nice and interesting dessert so would be interested to try their savoury food too.

Newly opened upmarket food court in the middle of queen street upstairs in the old resonated bnz bank building went about 1pm probably onpeak lunch time and the most food outlets were buzzing we decided to try lowbrow as you could see the kitchen and staff preparing food through a big window and what they were serving up look appetizing the place has limited seating but they seem to have a pretty slick operation here with our food order taken properly and food served timely the two sandwiches we ordered were tasty along with side plates...would try again👍
I_like_pickles
New place that recently opened up. The interior is very inviting and warm with the mood lighting. I like the darkness of the decor contrasted with the bright lights.

The beef brisket is a must try. Delicious and flavoursome. Everything else was good too but the beef brisket was on point.

The tacos, ceviche, chicken wings and chips were all very good.
WeiTing Ashley Shyu
We ordered fried chicken, pork chop, the smoked brisket and the ceviche! The ceviche (2 small portions on crispy thin tortilla chips) came out first. At $13, this is a bit pricey but probably my favourite dish of the night followed by the pork chop! Each dish was 11/10 with their flavours. The pork chop came with this pickled apple which was TO-DIE-FOR and the flavour combo was out of this world!!

Go to Lowbrow. Order the ceviche, pork chop and definitely get a round of that fried chicken. Would come here again but on semi-special occasions as it ends up being about $70 for two (or more, if you eat like me - FATFOODIE!!)!

Average for me, had the 10 wing bucket. Not a massive fan of places that leave the wing tip on, they do here. Chicken coating was Ok, ranch sauce portion was very small. Service on the day was kinda iffy - there were a bunch of staff standing and sitting around talking to each other and coming back and forth from behind the counter/kitchen to a table in the customer area while one girl handled all 4 occupied tables. I couldn't finish the wings and wanted them put in a takeaway, waited about 15 minutes eventually just brought them up to the counter. Will try again and re-review when they've been open longer, still early days...

We ordered three dishes: Beef fillet carpaccio from the ‘small’ section, Cider pork chop from the ‘large’ section and Fried Chicken. The Pork chop is a must! So soft and cooked to perfection, I’ll def be going back for this, and maybe a side of fries too as they smell delicious! The fried chicken was a too salty for my liking, but still its fried chicken. The beef carpaccio is a good entrée, very thin and full of taste.

They also serve natural wine, which was something new for me. The lady who served us was very helpful and patient with us while we decided our drinks, and we got to have a taste before we ordered as we weren’t sure what it’d be like but it was worth - wine was very refreshing which complemented our meals.

Newbie in Auckland food scene 💗 located in the prime location of Queen street. Visited on a Friday night at 6.30.

Ambience: very modern and cozy with a pink tone lighting throughout the whole restaurant. The seatings were comfortable. Love the takeaway window.

Service: Took a while to be noticed and able to order but other than that, service was good. Water glasses were filled constantly and food came out quick.

Food: Ordered Brisket Sandwich and fried chicken sandwich. The first one was great but the latter was to die for, best chicken sandwich I’ve had in years. Love the sesame roll and the coating of the chicken. Enjoy the face that I got every ingredients in each bite and the mayo sauce really complemented the chicken. The pickles were delicious as well. Overall a must try for this place. Will definitely come back for fried chicken only.

Highly recommended! I’m one happy diner 😌

Came in to try their fried chicken wing bucket with 10 wings and was honestly disappointed with the service. Looking from the outside, the place looked cool so we definitely were keen on trying it but since we came after trying another restaurant as well, we were just wanting to get a side. We were kept waiting for 35-40 minutes for one bucket of spicy chicken wings. They came and apologized that their order printer had a problem and didn't print out the order which is understandable but not once did a single staff member come up to us whilst waiting and asked us if we were waiting for anything. When the bucket finally arrived, the chickens were not spicy at all, but just tangy. The portion size was good but not for the aioli sauce that was given with it. Just this tiny aioli pot that was definitely not enough to have with even 3 wings, let alone 10. Not sure that we will be back…

Had an eggplant parm sandwich takeaway from Lowbrow. It was so tasty! The flavours were on point. I'll definitely be returning to eat in next time. The service was alright but not great, and it's a bit silly because you have to go inside to pay but you order at the window - they should have it so you can pay at the window when you order takeaway.
