This is the best Thai restaurant I have found anywhere in the world and this includes in Thailand. The food is delicious , tried so many of the dishes and never had a bad one, the Pad Thai is my absolute favourite anywhere. Never have had a bad experience in probably 100+ visits over many years. The place should be packed every night but is somewhat of a hidden gem. Staff friendly, prices reasonable, meal sizes good, always clean and tidy and plentiful parking out the back.. what else can you say really.

It was a lovely meal and not too expensive. The restaurant was quite clean and the waiters friendly. We ordered a Tom Yum soup, jasmine rice, spring rolls, and stir fried vegetables with chicken. Each had it’s own delicious flavour. We are planning our next trip to come here again!

In the heart of Point Chevalier it was the first time that my family and I come to the place. We were looking for an affordable alternative to Maca as ayer 6pm everything looks close... On a Thursday! And yep, we found this nice and tidy place with great service and a varied menu. Price range from $8 to $19 and it's even BYO wine. My kids ordered the summer rolls and kadukmoo Tod (deep fried pork spare ribs) Delicious! The stir frieds dishes were as well nicely cook, presented and yummy. Definitely a place to come back!

I have ordered dishes from here in the past that weren’t great however last night I ordered duck curry and pad Thai to takeaway and both were really flavoursome. Their pad Thai makes up for the loss of our old Thai local and the duck curry was highly reviewed by others - I would definitely recommend this dish if you are a fan of laksa. The duck was boneless which made it more enjoyable not having to pick out bones, curry sauce the right amount of creamy, sweet and spice and a huge portion!

Meals were okay. Value wasn't quite there compared to usual when dining here before. Pork ribs and chicken special menu - pork ribs under done, tough and chewy. x5 pieces of pork ribs, x3 pieces of chicken for $19. Duck curry was mean, tasty as, a slightly bigger portion would've made this an overall awesome dish.

excellent decor and seating arrangement, perfect for large groups or more intimate dining. The most authentic food i have tried in Auckland, i ordered 3 go to Thai dishes, most restaurants fail using the same base sauce for all, sweet chilli the best. 1 - tom gha soup so so flavorful, perfectly balanced, true coconut milk based soup, yum yum yum .2 - chicken satay, WOW! non peanut based sauce, they use a bean instead, BEAUTIFUL! better than a peanut sauce. 3 - pad thai prawn, amazing, didnt lack in sauce and wasn't too much sauce, nice and moist not dry, very flavorful, great amount of egg and nuts, even had tofu included, absolutely perfect. Dont go anywhere else for thai, i drive from greenlane to get my takeaway, never disappointed.

I'm sorry but this was the worst Thai meal and possibly the worst meal I've ever had. I did not receive the full starter I asked for. Ordered the mixed entrée and was told they didn't have the Tod Mum Pla (fish cake). Asked for a Toong Thong (money bag instead). It was not included. I thought I would try the Pad Prew Wan Pork (sweet and sour pork) to see how it compares to Chinese. Hoping it would be spicier with a good mix of fresh vegetables. It was diabolical. The pork was rindless bacon cut into large chunks. The sauce was worse than anything from a packet. I could have made a lot better myself.

Stir fry was really watery (half the takeaway container) and there was no trace of thai basil in the dish even though dish is literally stir fry with basil. I asked for Thai hot but it was barely a kiwi medium. Red Curry was even more watery and we ended up not finishing it as it was pretty tasteless. Not going there again.

This place is awesome!! The service is so lovely and its such a clean, tidy and spacious restaurant. The staff are so helpful and always ensure you have a great experience. As for the food - yum! My partner and I always go for the curries as they make these so well, but the soups and everything else we've tried was delicious too. Prices are really reasonable for the portion you get. Highly recommend!

Service is attentive and the place is clean and tidy. We ordered a whole fish and beef salad a coup. All well cooked except that I expected more vegetables in beef salad. The soup was a bit sour and sweet, so refreshing. I loved Very much. Overall very good experience.

Very disappointed with the Panang Curry. All you get is meat and a very liquid curry sauce. That's literally it. No vegetables, not even onions. For $16+ and no rice included, that's taking the mickey... For that price I'd recommend Wok Express.

The duck curry is awesome recommended. However, the fish is not really good, a little bit sour on my liking. we also ordered tom yum and the portion a bit small and not many of pieces in it. The service is great and people is nice!!!

I bloody love this place. I fortunately live locally, and would much rather the food here than any other Thai place I've been to in Auckland. The staff are also very sweet and friendly. The atmosphere inside seems a bit ho-hum - too many tables and chairs, not enough plants, decor and intimacy - so I only ever do takeaway.

I had the Phuket Island Stirfry .. and I had to pay extra for plain rice. Not very generous portion for the price and just really average flavors. Doubt i'll be back to here. A shame as I had high expectations given it got on a NZ herald list of 'best Thai' in AKL a few days ago, so that's the reason I headed over. Maybe it's gone down hill lately. Friendly lovely staff was a bonus.

Had the mussaman curry last week but the beef was tough and found the portion size not that great for the price. Maybe it was an off night because the other reviews rave about this place. I would say it was not as good as other places I have tried.

Ordered a takeaway curry and stir fry as displayed on the large menu located at the entrance. After paying we realized that it was a lunch menu and the dinner menu was displayed somewhere in the corner. Firstly the dinner menu was way over prized in comparison to other well known Thai restaurants & secondly rice is not part of the ordered meal & one would have to pay extra $2 for rice per head. For example , visiting a restaurant and ordering a meal but additional $2 for cutlery. I've had better Thai food before but in this case the cost of the meal did not quantify . I did speak to the lady who handed me my order about the rice issue & menu display but her answer was "im sorry and goodbye"... Definitely my last visit ever to Sweet Chilli

I'm really impressed by this place- I called 20 minutes before closing time for a takeaway order (I was one of those people, I know), and they were so lovely about it and my order was ready very quickly. The food here always has lots of vegetables and protein (I usually order a curry) and generous in portion sizes. Lovely staff and lovely food

I live locally and visit Sweet Chili often. What can i say.. friendly staff, quick service, delicious aromatic food, generous portions, fresh decor, spotlessly clean. Try the Khuay Teaw Gang (hot yellow curry noodles) and be blown away!

Love this place! as a local and regular, this is by far my favourite eatery in Pt Chevalier - The service is bubbly, lovely and fantastic the lady behind the counter knows my friend and I so well we don't even have to tell her what we'd like to order as we get the same thing all the time (I think we need to broaden our horizons and try more meals they offer) . We order the Tom Kha and Tom Yum soup! Really tasty and cheap too, so you leave with a happy wallet and happy belly. We also got complimentary rice which was so sweet and much appreciated! definitely a go-to place if you are after a meal that is fulfilling but doesn't break the wallet. Awesome.

This is by far my favourite Thai restaurant. It is definitely my go-to place for some authentic Thai dishes. Also, they have the friendliest bunch of people there - totally a land of smiles. It's a no fuss, casual dining experience. They also do takeaways which is a bonus. Have tried an array of dishes and I've always left with a happy full stomach.

Cheap, cheerful (the staff are always smiling and obliging) and tasty! I've been here numerous times and tonight's chicken massaman curry was creamy and full of flavour. Call it the cold weather or simply the curry aromas, I couldn't help but ask for a big second helping of rice! The mixed appetisers at the start were predictable but the spring roll had a nice texture. Yes the decor is nothing to write home about, and the lighting a bit yellow, but the food and service rose above the aesthetics. Gotta love the Thai covers playing in the background too!

Nice setting. We went to Pt Chevalier for the sole purpose of trying out Sweet Chilli under a friend's recommendation. Our duck curry and Tom Kha Gai was full of flavour. I could taste the herbs inside the dishes that makes Thai dishes so special. If you are a daredevil give the raw prawn salad ago, this will definitely give you a hit if you are up for it! Very friendly service. Will come again.

Food has a very authentic taste to it, service was good with very friendly staff. Very clean and simply presented restaurant. Started with the Spring rolls, one of the least oily spring rolls i have had in a long time, brilliant! Had the Thai chicken schnitzel, massive portion packed with plenty of meat and just the right balance of veges, a great dish with a unique Thai twist. Overall good Thai food and friendly service at a very reasonable price.

Favourite local for Thai takeaway! (I have yet to actually eat in the restaurant.) I appreciate that the food is always super fresh and tasty - no heavy greasiness, and lots of vege. I absolutely adore the moneybags - some of the best I've had, so tasty and with identifiable, crunchy filling, not just mush. Service is always friendly. The only downside is that it's slightly pricey.
