Review Mud Pie Deli - Auckland Central

A cute little place with a small town vibe in the middle of a busy city. I enjoyed my eggs benedict with chorizo and hash browns. A large hot chocolate to go with it as well. Nice ambience and clean as well.

Love this place! The food is delicious and the service is great! I got a vegetarian breakfast with eggs and my son tried the new BBQ pork bao with kumara fries.

Lovely people & great looking food. Got a small hot chocolate & the size of the cup looked large. It was very nice too with marshmallows. They gave me a small sample of brownie to try. That was nice too! Very generous. Recommended to all & I'll visit again myself :)

Nice food and warm service. Has various offer including spicy food with autentic local cuisine. The waiting number sign also very unique created from upcycling product. The place is strategic near park, public library, intersection bridge, creek and accesible via bus. It is a nice place to hang out.

Friendly staff and comfy seating. I was asked if I wanted take away or dine in for my coffee and I ended up getting the coffee in a take away cup even though I said I was sitting in.

This is a great busy little cafe. The choice of food is vast and the environment is nice and relaxing. It's just a great place to "Hang out" on the weekend with friends

This place never disappoints! My usual latte is served in a generous sized mug. Try the bacon buttie with egg for a quick and delicious lunch. They've got a great range of food to choose from in their cabinet, or you can order something filling and delicious from their menu. They have a yummy all day breakfast menu. The full monty breakfast doesn't disappoint! Give them a go! Consistently good service and food whenever I visit See you guys soon!

Lovely food. I had the corn fritters. Would have liked them warmed up a little more but tasty with the salsa on top. Quick service. Nice staff. Perhaps get rid of the dying plants within the cafe. They don't really need to be there. Otherwise thanks for a lovely lunch.

The coffee was great, however I ordered The full Monty it had quantity but needed more flavour.

Delicious coffee and really great service. A nice place to start the day, and it looked like there were a lot of gluten free options too, which is nice as often these options are very limited.

I pop in here usually every Saturday morning, staff are friendly and the coffee is top notch. Will be getting my fix from here many time to come.

I was stoked with my bagel breakfast here recently. So fulling and speedy. Lovely staff and cool vibe. This might become a regular for pre-uni breakfasts 🙄

Mud Pie Deli has pretty mixed reviews on the Google, both from loyal regulars and appalled first-timers. We were hoping to land somewhere in the middle as we pulled in to Point Chev, and our first impression was… well…average. The brown paint and black-and-white patterns really scream for a revamp and the pink and green cushions reminded us of a scene in Hannah Montana. No matter – we were easily distracted with a selection of cookbooks and magazines strewn across the table. On the upside, there is tonnes of space, the staff are cheery and they serve decent Altura coffee and a scrummy selection of deli cabinet food. The menu is the usual café-fare - eggs bene, corned beef & potatoes etc- and decently-sized, meaning it can fill the monstrous stomachs of Katie and Joe. We had a bit of fun browsing their shelves of gourmet oddities (bacon salt!) but all in all, this ain't the place for ambience and surprises. Mud Pie is much better positioned as a good go-to for a hangover or a coffee on the run.

Check out our individual comments here: husk.co.nz/lunches/mud-pie-deli-dec-2014

I only came here to buy a drink whenever I was on break during my time as a Unitec student. Although I have never tried their food, their service seemed great.

Came here for a work lunch, cute location- parking was a mission I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Got a kumara & bacon salad and was oily and greasy as anything- could only eat a few bites as I have a pet hate for greasy oily food.
Ordered a fresh apple juice, in my eyes fresh means made in store? It was just bottled juice.

Great deli cafe with a wide selection from the fridge for lunch and a great breakfast menu. Right off the main road with plenty parking out back

Awesome food! I had the prosciutto and roquefort eggs. Thought it seemed a bit pricey. But then the food came out. Massive. So delicious! Will be back for sure.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Set amongst the eclectic Pt Chev shops on Great North Road, Mud Pie is an inviting cafe with fresh decor and a great long table in the middle of the room. I liked being able to access the magazines on the table and the chilled music in the background added to the relaxed atmosphere.

COFFEE: smooth and reliable.

FOOD: As I was enroute to work, I had a berry danish to go with my coffee. Unfortunately there were few savoury options at time time in the morning (eg muffins, scones). The danish was a tad on the cold side but delicious nevertheless.

SERVICE: I found the service friendly, quick and efficient.

I like the layout of this cafe, especially with the big windows looking out onto the street. I would be keen to come back and try some of the salad and lunch options on offer.

I've just discovered this little gem, stumbled upon it on my way to the library. It's hard to decide which was better: my ham and cheese omelette or the staff!! I would definitely recommend this place, it's cosy but not cramped, the barista and front girl were hilarious and super friendly, the coffee was the exact strength I love(and need!), and the food superb the chef even delivered it to me himself! I even have a coffee card there now even though I don't stay in the area, Mud Pie Deli is my new Saturday retreat :)

A regular weekend breakfast cafe choice for my husband and I.

I'm a huge fan of the bagel with freshly made basil pesto, tomato and bacon. The pesto is a winner! My husband likes the big breakfast options.

Pricing is average, food is generally good enough for this place to be a regular, but I've found the bacon to be hit-or-miss. (I like my bacon well-cooked if not crispy, and a few times here it's been almost undercooked.)

They have a great cabinet selection too - not cheap, but lovely slices, filled rolls, Filo pastries etc.

Average food. But their biggest let-down is they are not nice to their staff. Saw the boss yelling at one of his workers and another being condescending to another worker at the till. What a shame. Thank goodness there is a great cafe across the road!

I used to visit every Saturday morning. They had great coffee and a brilliant breakfast menu. then it changed hands and everything fell apart! The coffee is awful and the service very bad! I ordered an omelet which took 20 minutes ( only four other people in at that time)My friend ordered the big breakfast with scrambled egg.
The omelet was leathery, cold and floating in grease, the big breakfast was barely cooked bacon and very crispy scrambled egg, quite revolting. We, and the other customers in that day were ignored. I wont be back.

Been here 3 times. the food is 'moderately priced' but average. The coffee is average. The service is just below average. The last time we were there they weren't very busy, and although our table had been cleared it wasn't cleaned. Also, they weren't helpful with menu requests that every other cafe we've been to have taken in their stride. If you must, fine, but you're better to go along Pt Chev road to where the real cafes are.

Great food. Great coffee. Great service.
I like the selection of fresh food on offer here.

We really like Mud Pie Deli. They have lots of yummy goodies in their cabinet as well as a fairly extensive menu to choose from.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the coffee is good.
They have plenty of vege and gluten free options too!
