Review Indian Accent - Auckland Central

Gordon Shaw
When I lived in Stonefields I came here a lot. First time back in many years and was not disappointed. Nice cold Chardonnay. The medium curry was very medium. Great taste in my butter chicken. The naan was delicious and full of garlic. A large dining room with a great feel. Nice staff and amazing food. Great to visit again after many years.

They had amazing food and were hosting a private party. The whole time the staff were very approachable and ask if the party was too loud for us. Were amazing with the food timing and drinks were ready in no time at all. Highly recommend if you want to dine in!

Only place in New Zealand that does Soya Chaap so well. Biryani too had a freshness. Will be visiting this place more frequently.

Excellent food. The food was fresh and awesome. This is one of my favorite Indian restaurant in Auckland. Staff are super friendly. I had lunch there twice. Can totally recommend it and will definitely come back again...

I would like to thank all the staff of Indian Accent- Mount Wellington for your amazing service in hosting my wedding/reception dinner. From the catering to the management of seating people, it was absolutely fantastic. Everyone was so friendly yet professional. I would love to thank (manager/owner) for carrying out all details of the night flawlessly and ensuring that the guests needs were met and that the staff were well managed. Your service was definitely fantastic and i would definitely recommend this place to anyone whom is looking for awesome service and friendly management to host their family or friendly events/occasions. You are definitely able to trust these folks in carrying out your needs/requirements to ensure you are satisfied with your night.

Came by for lunch to try it out. It wasn't bust so we were warmly greeted and seated. It wasn't hard to get their attention when we were ready to order. Although the normal menu was there they also had a lunch menu which had cheaper prices and sets. I had the prawn briyani. The rice was cooked perfectly and the spices and heat were just right for me. Dad had the curry set which came with rice and naan. The food was delicious and the portions were decent, as was the service.

I Loved it! Definitely worth going back again. I wasn't too impressed with the naan bread and I did expect that there would be rice included but it was so tasty I don't mind. My new favorite Indian delivery 😁

One of best indian restuarent so far in Auckland. Food was 10/10, customer service was 10/10, loved the experience after a long time. Auckland was missing great indian joint and thats the best after a long time. We visit atleast every fortnight and will be coming to this place more often now 😍

Excellent onion Bhajis, beautiful fish tikka. Lamb, goat, chicken dishes so tasty. Must try the Curry Village Lunn Ave.

Hands down the best curry around. Gotta go here if you’re thinking curry.

I would say 3.5 star ,Food was ok ok ,However need to improve on sauce ( mint sauce ) which looks like pre pack from norida ( Indian frozen sauces ) not value for money if u charge 33 $$ ,Rest missi Roti is good

We recently organised a private event for about 80 people, at Indian Accent Mt Wellington and were blown away by the hospitality and standard of service. The owner is very understanding and accommodating and organised the event exactly as per our requirement. The food is Indian authentic and there is a great range of vegetarian options - their CHAAPs are must try!! Once again thanks to the team for hosting us.

Absolutely amazing! The food here is divine. I especially love their goat curry. Superb. The staff here are so accommodating and go the extra mile. If you are lucky they have special cocktail offers and happy hour. All good things come to those who wait.

DELICIOUS: Has to be the BEST mango chicken I have ever had in Auckland! The garlic Naan was great too. Great service! Friendly staff. Only took them 8minutes to cook my food. No muck around. I WILL BE BACK! 😊

A nice restaurant and bar for small to a medium group. Wont recommend for family with kids. Food is good but it is but expensive. Can be hard to find a car park during evening and on weekends.
Geoff Wilson
UPDATE: our work group just came back here for lunch and it was supurb. It does take quite a long time still, but it's just to prepare it. We all shared our curries so we could try one of everything since the lunch menu allows you to choose one main style then get a naan with it. The garlic or cheese naanw are super soft and on point.

They wouldn’t let me use my zomato gold. I asked them if this was in the terms and conditions, and they said no. But they still wouldn’t let me use my zomato gold.

We had my dads 65th birthday here (40 something people) I don't usually like going to indian restaurants as Im an indian myself and can make a lot of things at home. But this place was on point. fantastic service from beginning to end. Manager double and triple checked our menu and gave fantastic suggestions. The guests were raving about how delicious the food was. during the party they provided amazing service. free corkage as well!!

Excellent service and Amazing food. I’m vegetarian so get very less options for appetiser. I soya Chaap. First time I have seen any restaurant have 4 options only in soya chaap. Authentic North Indian food with balanced spices . <br/>

This restaurant definitely needs more hype. Great atmosphere, great location, awesome service and food was actually good.<br/>Staff were extremely friendly, and helpful. They even gave us a complimentary dish.<br/>Food came out quick, the starters in my opinion were better than main.(Shekh kebab, chicken tikka, chicken sholey kebab)<br/>Unfortunately the mains were okay. Not amazing but satisfying which is why they didnt get 5 star rating. <br/>The chicken manchurian was a bit too salty (personal opinion)and their chilli chicken was okay. However, I will definitely come back here again and try out the other dishes :) shoutout to the staff working today who were extremely hospitable

The waiter brings drinks to customers first who obviously ordered after us.

The soyachaap was doused in cardamom powder and it overpowered the whole curry. The soya itself was very soft and tasty. The other curries and naan ordered were good.

One of our comfort Indian restaurant. We have tried several curries and other dishes. So far, we enjoyed most of them. Food was a bit slow to come out. The curry comes with rice, but you can’t switch the rice for naan. A shame because we normally want to eat naan more than rice. Price is a little bit more expensive than the other Indian restaurants.

One of the best dine in places  in Auckland. The service standards are just amazing and the food is so yum. Each time I visit the place the service just get better. Employees are doing a great job and thanks to management who keeps the employees happy. :)

Ordered some food recently. We ordered butter chicken (medium), lamb sekh kebab and chicken tikka entree. The chicken entree was quite good but the lamb was bit too dry. Butter chicken was quite tasty. Is bit more expensive then other places but overall was good.
Yugal K Sachdeva
We ordered a goat curry, tawa rara Murg and garlic naans for take away, goat curry was just about average, tawa murg and garlic naans were pretty sad! Not value for money at all, both quality and quantity wise.

Good service with excellent food and ambience😍 One of the best chicken biryani and murg makhani I've ever had. Definitely going back to try their other options
Tan.ned
One of the best curries I've ever had! I like the complimentary snack at the start. Great service, highly attentive staff. Would recommend.<br/><br/>Note: weird that our waiter didn't want to not our orders down on a paper when he was clearly mis-remembering our orders when he read them back to us.
Mike
Excellent food especially malai kofta. Good service. Order didn't take more than 10 minutes to serve. Recommended indian restaurant to eat dinner.

Been there on Friday night around 8:30 PM, Not much busy. Had chilli chicken and Chicken Sholay Kebab as a starter. Both the starters were nice and delicious. Later we ordered Shahi chicken Korma with few Naans. Shahi Chicken Korma was alright not very different from other Indian restaurants. Staff was friendly😊. Highly recommend for there Starters, Found bit expensive.

Come to here every Friday for team lunch, great place to enjoy premium curry meal. Wish this restaurant to join the zomato gold plan soon. Five star recommended!

As locals we have tried most of the food along this block of shops. Lost a star as there was a babies birthday held there where they playing a happy birthday video from youtube very loud and repetitively. Not so nice if you are on a romantic dinner date. Food was very nice though and good service, bit slow to bring out partners wine however.
Gaurav.khurrana
Off late the food is really pathetic, seems like the chef doesn’t know how to even cook! If you ask for something spicy, they tend to just sprinkle some spices from top, rather then cooking it properly, which makes all the sweet tasting food worse..highly disappointed!<br/>

3.5/5 Taste<br/>2/5 Display <br/>2/5 Quantity <br/>0/5 Customer Service <br/><br/>Poor serviced Indian Restaurant <br/><br/>Wait time was 40min. <br/>1 Hall staff and 1 Kitchen staff working at Lunch time.<br/><br/>I waved for service, she saw us but served someone else first and came back after few minutes. <br/><br/>Table that got served just before us got their food in about 10min, then they started doing ubereats food which were like 3 big bags. <br/><br/>Chef came outside after those ubereats for a bit, maybe 5min before he went back in to cook our food. <br/><br/>Not sure what kind of service this is, making people wait for food, prioritizing customers. <br/>Felt a little racisim here. <br/><br/>Even if the food was good I’m most likely not returning.
Shalu
Service was too slow, the girl who served on our table was not at all paying attention. Another thing when we ordered our food they served wrong food at wrong table and by the time the food was served it was not at all hot.<br/>Fish gravy quantity is also too less compared to value for money.
Harry
Very poor service. Cold food. Seafood mains are overpriced and very less quantity.<br/>New staff needs manager attention as to how they are performing.<br/>Also wrong orders were brought to the table next to us.<br/>

We tried Indian Accent after getting good recommendations from around the area and hope to try more of their food. The takewaway order was baingan bhurta, something really hard to get when outside of one's own kitchen. The spices and tomato-onion ratio was rightly balanced and the taste was real authentic Punjabi. The boiled rice were complimentary, really fragrant basmati - ideal combination with baingan bhurta.
Henry
A good, greasy and oily as, Indian local. She’s no Oh Calcutta, but will satisfy those Indian cravings but leave you with that greasy buttery feeling after. All good every now and then, especially if you’re the Tin Man in need of a grease up.

Very popular Indian restaurant. Mango chicken is a fave. The staff are very nice and efficient. Beautiful interior design with different themes of India.

I was totally disappointed with the food at this place. I took our family of 11 people there for dinner and have never had such bland Indian food - considering we ordered Indian Medium. The service was good but the place was pretty run down and the food was not good. Not recommended.
Anupama Samantroy
The place has a nice ambiance. The waitress was very sweet and polite. We ordered Soya Chap! And it was the most amazing chap I had. It was so soft, delicious and flavoursome. I recommend this restaurant, and I will myself go again and again.

Went here for lunch. Great food lots of flavor and really great service. Highly recommended. Entree platter well worth buying. Great ambiance

Ive never been to an Indian restaurant as I was never willing to step away from butter chicken, but my friend and I decided to let the waiter pick our order. And honestly, I have never had better curry. She also let us trial a couple of drinks they are adding to there menu. Can't rave enough about the food and service. So friendly and fast, not expensive at all. Well worth it 👌

Good service, Tried chicken Madras, satisfied with the taste and flavours.<br/>good ambience to go for lunch/dinner with colleagues/friends /family.

Awesome food. Loved the vegetarian curry and chicken Amritsari curry. Portion was good but the starter such as that of lemon honey cauliflower price seems a bit high otherwise it’s a delight to eat.

Can definitely say that this place has been consistent. Great service, great food. Living in the area gives me a chance to grab take away or come and dine in for those evenings when I crave Indian food. Can't really fault a lot except that the paneer is sometimes a wee bit hard (workaround: order the Dal Makhni, it's really good).
Mei
Our party of 8 came here for lunch. It was highly recommended so we all had high expectations but it turned out to be ok. Regardless of harsh light coming through the window that made the inside seem so dark, the food was Indian rather than Fijian Indian. Delicious spice combinations.

Amazingly friendly staff and yummy food! Perfect place for a delicious meal, thanks heaps Indian accent :) will definitely be coming back soon!!

I visited the place first time with family and friends I already make booking for dinner ,lady was quite polite who did the booking, we reached on time the services were extremely good the way she welcomed us was quite friendly. We ordered all veg , we were 8 so order took a little.longer to come (can you please just pump up your services little in terms of speed)<br/>But all wait was worth as when food arrived ahh so yummy...specially panner tikka masala and mushroom saag....must order also we never ever had such yummy soft and thin naans in Auckland (chilli naans are must order .<br/>Looking forward to visit again .. delicious food ...keep it up guys..

Dining at Indian accent....interesting menu, wonderful meal, great portions specially paneer taka tak and paneer butter masala which was perfectly served by the staff Navdeep. She made our experience wonderful. Great service. The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price.

It's Saturday night - you walk past places in this cluster of eateries which are mostly empty, the streets outside have no passers-by and you think it's a ghost-town. But then you step into "Indian Accent" and suddenly the buzz hits you - at least fifty patrons with a range of Kiwis, pack the place eating talking awaiting orders, the place humming with waiters and hosts busily working the tables. You then understand why the parking is full outside. Mt Wellington, nay Auckland itself is a deceptive dame you gotta admit.  <br/>The place's name and even their title design is identical to India's top modern-cuisine restaurant in Delhi and NY, and while the joint here is miles way from attempting any avant garde stuff, Manish Merhotra were he to pop in here would be happy to see the throngs of customers. <br/><br/>I see 'White Russian' on the drinks list : not knowing when else in my life I'm going see a White Russian cocktail in a Indian restaurant in Auckland , I order it. The Hon'ble Big Lebowski and the Coen Brothers who re-popularized this kahlua-liquer-milk blend might not terribly mind the result - the cold coffee lover in me was satisfied while excusing the too slim current of liquor but what on earth ?! - the medium size glass at $10 is drained in five minutes and I'm hankering for more. Punjab (considering this is marketed as a Punjabi Dhaba) is the land of "Patiala Peg" - 90 to 120 ml of spirits in one glass instead of the infantile 30ml - so alas this White Russian is only a Half Punjabi ! (yeah I know NZ rules - 30 ml per serve limit, but you can bend it like Beckham in a cocktail!). I switched to KF large.<br/><br/>Chicken Manchurian , their menu proclaimed , "can only be called Yummy ! " - a kindergarten word I discourage in adult discourse. This Indo-Chinese starter, not found often in Kiwi-Indian joints, was requested "medium" for the spice quotient but still turned out to be spicy with the chilli muzzling most of the other flavours in the wok-fried, admittedly tender chicken morsels. <br/><br/>In "Butter Chicken", yes the chicken is beautifully succulent and flavourful but alas it is compromised by too much tomato in the creamy gravy - the most common mistake in cooking butter chicken. The best butter chickens are a creamy blast with yoghurt and complex spices in exquisite gentle balance while tomato is far in the background. Two different staff here were polite enough to ask me how the meal was, and were informed politely about the ups and downs. The menu described Amristsari Chicken gravy as 'cooked in yoghurt, straight from the heart of Punjab'. With a description like that, my heart couldn't help ordering it. Again there was soft juicy chicken, but the gravy was a generic onion-cream-garlic send-up evidenced anywhere and everywhere in countless indistinct versions. <br/><br/>On the upside definitely, the waitstaff here are briskly on to it - when one of my appetizers took about twenty minutes to arrive in a packed restaurant (which is not that bad a delay), they, on two separate occasions, voluntarily apologised for the hold-up before the dish arrived. This pro-active service reminded me of India where a certain set of popular restaurants (which you'll discover all over the place once you work your way through) often have no shortage of waitstaff on the floor. <br/><br/>The joint occupies a large room with little chandeliers suspended from the high tent-like cloth-surfaced ceiling while the decor is deliberately themed along the lines of a "Dhaba" (an informal highway eatery) with red and yellow painted walls. There are little ethnic touches like a carved still-life portrait and a four-foot-high ornate jug, while the back of the room houses the bar with a row of counter-side seats. <br/><br/>Chicken Biryani was a polite rice and boneless meat affair with none of the carnal appeal nor bursts of seductive taste that a wicked biryani generates, the solace being that the rice was slick-'n'-buttery. Amritsari Fish Fry had big chunks of tender fish but alas these had phantom flavour.<br/><br/>Sholay Kebab was easily better - a pleasant departure from the de rigeur tandoori smoke of the usual Indian-style chicken-kebab morsels. These were lusciously marinated chunks of succulent chicken with pleasantly rounded flavour, devoid of any spicy edge. <br/><br/>Multiple visits underscored the same pattern - a well-run restaurant and a full-steam-ahead kitchen delivering a big menu of items while sparing us show-stopping epiphanies. You see Lemon Honey Cauliflower on the menu and wonder how the chef will manoeuver the flavour profiles. It's a dish with inveigling potential which is lost in translation here. You get the lemon, the honey is probably there somewhere but the miscalibrated incorporation of a blackbean sauce sadly distorts the taste.<br/><br/>Shaarabi (Alcoholic) Prawns are not really replete with booze, but with a stiff drink you can enjoy these plump specimens even more. Resembling prawns tempura in looks and taste except for being pleasantly curled up like good ol' cooked shrimp, these have no special depth of flavour or succulence but make for undoubtedly decent appetizers with a thinly crunchy coating and liberal meaty body.<br/><br/>"Afghaani Mushroom" is a creamy beast of a vegetarian appetizer, with robust hunks of mushroom gloriously doused in perfumed cashewnut cream. If these mushrooms per se had deep umami, then this dish would ascended to Auckland's city-wide best lists. The kitchen alas could not make Cocktail Tikki - split green gram and potato mashed and roasted into cutlets - into something more inveigling than stodgy dull discs. It takes more talent to make a vegetarian appetizer like this something special , than does knocking out a delicious chicken tikka. But "Indian Accent" will be a keeper for me in this town, not because it dazzles with nuance , but because it runs a big bustling ship with cheery ability.

We went around 1.50pm and as we were seated, the waitress told us they were closing #nopressure<br/><br/>The food was pretty good and the serving for the lunch menu was just right. We ordered the fried rice combo with chilli chicken and chick saagwala. The fried rice was very tasty but oily. The chilli chicken was tender but the quantity was quite small, and I didnt particularly like the gravy. The chicken saagwala has more chicken but the chicken was very tough and dry but the sauce was quite nice. I find it on the creamier side which my husband preferred. <br/><br/>Overall ive had better indian food and would probably not return unless I'm starving and craving for indian food near this area.
Joanna Sear
By far my favourite Indian joint. The chicken saagwala never disappoints and my partner loves everything he has tried here. I will repeatedly dine here.

This is one of my favourite Indian spots! <br/>The dishes are consistently good. I get excited when my family decide to eat here! So yummy and a good price for a big portion! There are a lot of vegetarian dishes to choose from which is great. Also love the authentic cultural feeling inside the restaurant!

This was my first visit, although my fellow diner is a regular here. <br/><br/>When I finally made my selection, the asked staff how hot I wanted it, something you don't often get asked. I was impressed with the size of pieces of chicken in my dish, the meal was very enjoyable. <br/><br/>I was suitably stuffed afterwards, and would rather not have gone back to work.
Natasha Kumar
Been here a few times, the food has always been amazing and the service has been excellent. Their chicken manchurian is amazing and so is their chicken 65 yummmmm

Tried to order over the phone. The person couldn't be bothered to take my order and was not interested in helping me to order food. He told me it would take 80 mins to deliver before even finding out my address. He then told me to order online. I hung up and ordered elsewhere. The food is good here. I order regularly every other week however will not order from there again. My average order is $60.... that's $1560 a year we will be giving to someone else. <br/><br/>Good food, need better staff.
Jashdeepsinghdeo
Very yummy mixed plater and Amritsar<br/> chicken and also last time we tried chicken shills kebab best go with drink. Chicken jalfragi nice item as well very traditional Indian food thanks Nishu

Indian Accent the name says it all. They never disappoint to provide the best Indian curries in town. The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering entrees and mains. All the dishes that we ordered were fresh and had the warmth of home-made food. It seems that chefs take great care in selecting the best quality ingredients. Kudos to staff for the service they provide always with a smile on their face. Must try lamb seekh kebab and chicken sholay kebab for entrees.

Live locally to your shop. Ordered Chicken Lollipops, Got 3 pieces of tasteless unseasoned chicken for 14.90( i dont even think you used salt). I dont know if you like robbing your customers, or you have a really bad relationship with your meat supplier, but this is ridiculous. Why dont you make your customers empty their pockets when they walk in the door. It would save you the embarrassment of serving them your sub par food. Curry was sub par, and nan burnt. Will not return and would not recommend.

Haven't had Indian food for sometime, so chose this restaurant on Luna avenue. Chicken curry was way too salty for me. Customer service is great thou.

Was in the restaurant with my husband yesterday.<br/>We always come there for having delicious food.<br/>But yesterday was mother's day... okay, we know everywhere is busy in mother's day. The staff in there is always friendly to us, the girl who's in the cashier and the turban waiter who works in there are really nice.<br/>But, a problem was another waiter, I don't know if he is new in the company or what he was smelling sweat and was looking dirty, and after we finished our food, he took the stuff from the table. After some time, we asked him to clean the table, because he "threw" the takeaway in the dirty table... and while we were talking, he was like paying attention, and stopped cleaning the table to hear what we were saying. So, when we asked him can we please have napkins, he walked away asking for someone else to give us napkins, and again we asked, and he pretended not to hear what we were saying. Food is delicious as always, i have no complaint about it, the only thing was the waiter.<br/>I hope that, next time we come in there, i hope the waiter is in a better way, and learn how to serve us better. ;)<br/>

This is an Indian restaurants with great ambience.<br/><br/>There were 8 of us so we ordered a variety of the dishes to share - and everything was delicious and well enjoyed. They can make their curries to the spice level you prefer. If you like your food with a kick, definitely go for at least medium. My favourite of the night was the prawn butter masala, really rich and flavourful. Their paneer dishes were super lovely about creamy too, just wish they put more pieces in their curries.<br/><br/>Service was friendly. The place is also quite big, so perfect for get-togethers and functions.

We celebrated our daughter's birthday last Saturday and the service was amazing. The staff were friendly and the food was appreciated by all. Special thanks to Harry and Garishma for their efforts!! The "Happy birthday" song during the cutting of the cake came as a pleasant surprise from the staff!!

Me and my husband went there on Valentine day. Really pleasent welcoming.Great atmosphere, really good service and food was delicious. Thanks

Best Indian I've ever had! Hard to choose a favourite dish, everything tastes amazing and the staff are very nice and friendly too. Would definitely recommend!
Emma
We received great service and a lovely meal when we visited the other week. The fact that this restaurant is open late is a huge advantage.

As an Indian I dont like going to Indian restaurants in New Zealand except one or two and this restaurant just reminded me why. Nice interiors, excellent service but terrible food! We ordered jaljeera which was good. The roti was doughy, the balti chicken was just boiled chicken thrown in a dry gravy, etc etc. Not a place I will go to again if I have a choice. But it may be a case where the chef was superbly uninterested during that shift for some reason.
Ayaan
We use to come here so much least twice a week then we moved to Australia but now we back so thought we would come i for old time sake, since then it's had a name change and staff so kind of gets scary when things like this happen, but well what a surprise service was excellent and food was even better,we will be back guys thanks 🙏
Canistan Charles
Great food with affordable price. I went b4 3 weeks ago, the time was between 5 to 6pm they told that time is happy hours all the main is 15.90$, i planned to buy eggplant curry only then i bought beef vindaloo aswell, great spicy curries 🌶
Jasveen Kaur
Had a hankering for curry, couldn't be bothered cooking it myself. Not much that's good out east and I'm really fussy with curry not cooked by me. This chicken tikka masala was awesome! Nice fresh chicken and not drowned in cream. Will<br/>Definitely come back.
Raman Simran Dhanoa
The best food in the town. Everything for quality to quantity id perfect, the entry was fantastic. Curries are well cooked and the service is excellent. I really love the way they welcome. Must visit there with your family and friends

One of the best places to go to for Indian cuisine around the Auckland region<br/> The food is authentic and in our multiple visits, always pleases :). Would personally recommend the Murg Amritsari, a personal favourite of my wife and mine's (We hail from the region :D).<br/><br/>The place itself has quite a nice atmosphere and is well placed in Mount Wellington. Friendly staff with our food always arriving quickly.<br/><br/>Definitely recommend it :).
RJ
Friday evening we went to this place and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Only 2 tables were occupied. <br/>We had ordered paneer as main dish and naan. The paneer gravy was not that great coz it tasted sour, may be the tomatoes which they used in the gravy were sour.<br/>We had ordered chicken lolipop n it was a big time disaster. For the first time in my life I saw chicken lolipop yellow in colour n the chicken was uncooked.<br/>We asked the staff member if he can get some onion to eat with the curry n naan . Which was added in the bill for $5. We were not at all happy n asked the staff member as it if it was charged then why were we not informed when we asked for it. <br/>Overall the experience was bad and will never recommend anyone for this place.
Tom Hadley
We have been twice now. The second time as we always believe in a second chance and what we found was consistency. There was, on both occasions a dire lack of flavour depth and any heat appeared forced through late additions to the gravies rather than spices and well prepared dishes. Very disappointing. We would recommend avoiding unless you are a curry novice.
Tomo
To be fair the food was not bad. I ordered chili chicken which was yum and butter chicken was an average. Garlic Nan was okay. But I waited for about 50mins to just get an entree and another 30mins to get the main. I saw similar reviews that they waited for so long so I came here around 8:30 to avoid busiest time. Main just came at 10 pm. The waiter said it would take 30mins as kitchen was busy but it ended up hell of 1hr 30mins. The worse thing was that the tables were not even full. I wonder how long I would have to wait if the tables were full. The food was good but not worth waiting for this long. After receiving complementary drink and desert I still am not happy wasting my time. I would not recommend anyone.
Shelby Niuloa
Good food. Could improve on wait time, the wait for service and then the food felt far too long . Enjoyed the atmosphere and the entrance into the restaurant where the door was beautifjl

We felt like s bit of curry on a cold rainy night, so we popped into Indian Accent to get takeaways. <br/><br/>The place was quite when we walked in, but we were greeted warmly by this lovely lady. We ordered beer while we wait for our orders and the beer game with complimentary poppadoms. <br/><br/>We ordered chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and naan. The butter chicken was delicious (after trying all sort of different curries, butter chicken still my go to Indian comfort food). It had good amount of heat and lovely tandoori chicken.<br/><br/>The tikka masala though was a bit disappointed. It was a bit tasteless and not much going on at all. Compared to the other fish, this is a bit of a let down.<br/><br/>Mango Lasi was yummy so did the nasn breads. Generous serving sizes too which was a plus. Great service from the girls who work there. <br/><br/>We would like to go back and try their other dishes.

Great service, but took a bit of time for food to be served. Food was alright (nothing exceptional), but ambience and the staffs were great!

Stopped in for lunch here yesterday. The food was amazing. Tasty and great portions. The starter was a great treat to begin with. The service was friendly and prompt. We were guided on how spicy we would like our meals to be. Definitely will visit again.

One of the fanciest indian restaurants I've been to. The interior gave off a cozy, warm atmosphere and I was particularly impressed by the restaurant entrance, which had an automatic sliding door followed by a Manual golden metal door. Nice. Entered the restaurant 6:30 pm on a Saturday night, the restaurant was completely empty which prompted my friend to give off a couple remarks on how dodgy the restaurant looked. We proceeded to ask for a table as my indian colleague swore that this was one of the best indian dining spots in town. Our server was a very nice Indian lady who had exceptional knowledge about their curries. We ordered 3 curries, 1 entree and 2 naan breads for 3 people. Tasted pretty good, but the total bill came up to be around $100... Ouch. 7/10 would come back again only if someone was shouting.

We went here last week for takeaways, my husband ordered the Butter Chicken (mild) and I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala (medium) I asked to swap my rice for naan as I do not like white rice and she was obliging which was lovely. We got them home and they were both a good portion with great size chunks of chicken for the price, my naan was nice, my husband found his butter chicken a bit creamy, but he is not a big curry fan! We will return :)

Am sorry to say that we wouldn't be returning! Had heard a lot about this place but my party of 4 waited 1 hour before we walked out. In that time we were offered 1 beer & nobody explained the delay. In fact all the tables were full with about 50 people & none except 2 tables had food & / or drinks! Cannot attest to the quality of food but restaurant management & service was beyond terrible! My party of 4 has been reviewing restaurants on a weekly / monthly basis for that last 4 years & we have never come across such a poorly managed one! Sorry guys!

Went twice to this place and enjoyed the food both the times. This place is always fully packed and gives off Indian vibes. The entree were so delicious it reminded me of the food back home. The only let down both the times was service. It was too slow maybe it was because it was packed maybe there were short staffed those days in particular. Would have easily given a 4.5-5.0 if not for that. Waiting 45 mins after eating the entree is a bit too much. Even though the wait was worthwhile would like it to be slightly quicker. Will surely keep going there for the food.

Worst food ever, we order dry veg Manchurian and fish tikka. Dry Manchurian was stale , dry and hard like stone with no dressing and veggie at all. Fish tikka was also stale and we end up throwing in rubbish. Just a complete waste of $30.

Had dinner here on Sunday night it was really nice . When we came in we were greeted really well and then when it came to courtesy and communication this restaurant leaves all the Indian restaurants behind they are really good. We had a mix of indian Chinese and Indian food we started with Indian Chinese the soup was spot on we had hot and sour soup it was really nice it wasn't filled with just soya sauce it was giving us a good feel of how Indian Chinese soups are the lollipop wasn't what we expected it to be but that a one off then for our mains we had goat curry and paneer tawa with naan and rice. The flavours were amazing not much of soda used no colour added to the food like other restaurants do. The food was light and didn't feel blotted after the meal we had a lovely dinner and the service just wAs par excellence kudos guys keep gng and doing what you'll are doing well don't Indian accent.<br/>

We don't usually spend money on Indian food outside our home cause we make it better at home obviously :). However, food here is worth every penny. Definitely going back someday for food. Staff (Manish) could've been more polite, very vague and wasn't helping us much with food. We figured it out ourselves and was satisfied anyway. The next time you guys run into this server, give a pat on his back to motivate him :)

After I voiced my complaints from our last visit, we were given a voucher to try Indian accent again.<br/><br/>Tonight we headed over at 7pm and were greeted kindly by staff. We ordered dishes recommended by our waiter. We were served the chicken 65, chilli chicken, and chicken saagwala as 'Indian hot'. These dishes tasted brilliant. Once the dish cooled down, the chilli chicken had a unique sweet taste to it which was delicious. The chicken 65 was also tasty and the chicken saagwala was pleasant. <br/>I'd definitely recommend the chilli chicken to those who enjoy delicious spicy meals. I have also tried the palak paneer in the past and found the dish to be full of flavour and of good texture. <br/><br/>Would I come back? Yes! I'm quite inquisitive about the other dishes found on the menu. Thanks again!!

Good curry. Decently priced and good service. I had the Briyani and I found it very good. My mrs had the butter chicken and she enjoyed it. Over all good restaurant

Worst ever chicken biriyani I have ever had from here. Expected something good from them. It spoiled my taste totally!!!! How can someone make such a tasteless food.

Really great food here, especially vegetarian! As a mostly non meat eater, this place is great. Calm atmosphere, and the staff all recognise me by now. I've tasted the Lamb rogan josh, tikka masala, many veg options, and the indo chinese which are scrummy too!<br/>Word of warning- the spice scale is for more spice loving kiwis. Medium seems to just right to me, and indian hot has made us hiccup, but if you're intolerant to spice take notch to mild here. :) <br/><br/>Samosas here are great, not over cooked, and huge. Great portions, and good gravy ratio.

Tried takeaway from Indian Accent. I like that they have palak paneer on their menu, one of my fav curries but quite a few restaurants don't offer it. Thus we ordered palak paneer and chicken tikka masala. My main qualm was that I wasn't feeling the spice agenda tonight so ordered both as mild. However it came out tasting like a medium, so I'm not sure if they got the order mixed or they just make the mild spicier than it should be (or my spice game is weak). Anywho not the best outcome in that regard but both still tasted decent, with solid portion size, though I have tasted better palak paneer. Naan game is fairly strong, particularly the garlic naan. On the pricier side for Indian but the interior is fancier than the typical joint, service friendly and if you go on a Tuesday, all curries are $14.90 (ex seafood).

Been to this place for dinner, lunch and take away. Their goat biriyani is the best from the menu. Normally quiet and good place to go for dinner if you have kids. Very good service.

I went to Indian Accent for my best friend's birthday party and I had the butter chicken, with the garlic naan bread. I really loved the food and the service was great. I can't wait to go back.

We had a big family gathering organised here about 30 people and they did a fabulous job. Highly recommended for functions! The service was faultless they even had a microphone for speeches. The entrees were fantastic. Curries could use a little improvement but overall we had such a fantastic time so didn't detract too much.

Noticed this place driving home one day and decided to try on a rainy Friday. Lovely atmosphere, lots of people but not crowded at all - it's a big restaurant. We received excellent service. The food was a mixed bag though.. For starter we shared the mixed platter, which was basically just meat, but all seasoned and cooked perfectly. Very enjoyable. The peshwari naan with the curry was exceptional. The curry however, was something I have not experienced before - an Indian dish with no flavour... We ordered two mild curries as my wife doesn't like spice. Both were 100% identical, despite having different descriptions, and the predominant flavour was not spice, but salt.... Very strange.. A shame as the overall experience was good.

A good place for Indian food in this suburb. The ambience is fair and the staff is communicative. The quality of food needs to be tweaked further to attract repeat patrons.

Lovely place, newly refurbished, new management, everything is new. It looks heaps brighter, bigger and just more inviting. Excellent customer service. They are really all out to impress you. <br/>Went for the lunch deal - garlic naan that came with it was absolutely delish. Lamb sagwaala was tasty too. <br/>Well done!

Ordered takeouts from here about 2 weeks ago. Firstly thought it was overpriced but once I ate the lamb chops and the sheesh kehabs, the price didn't matter. Jeez, the meat was beautifully cooked-so tender and JUICY! The meat Gods would have approved. On Wednesday we decided to dine in and check it out. We ordered the Goat curry (on the bone) and the Malai Kofta. Once our curries arrived, I was disappointed about the portion size. It seemed kinda small but that's where the disappointment ended. The meat in the goat curry was tender and falling off the bone-exactly how it should be. However, the goat curry had nothing compared to the Malai Kofta. It was thick, creamy and spicy. CURRY HEAVEN! Normally, when I go to an Indian restaurant and I order hot, I never get it. But Indian Accent, definitely delivered. Both curries were spicy but it didn't compromise the flavour. If you're in Lunn Ave and in need for a curry, definitely head here. I'll be heading back very shortly. <br/>FYI-once we had rotis and rice, the portions were bang on!

Indian Accent charge a little bit more than usual for a curry but the food is really damn good and the portions are a little larger than usual. I don't know about you but I like to get a fair amount of meat versus a bowl of sauce. Even if the sauce is insanely delicious and you know it's doing your health no good to eat the whole thing but you do it anyway. <br/><br/>Staff were friendly and attentive, which is always a huge plus. Overall a lovely experience.

Food and Service was Excellent. Food cooked with passion and Finesse. Ambiance was lovely, refreshing and welcoming. I definitely would recommend this to everyone. <br/><br/><br/>If you are looking for an elegant Indian Restaurant, this would be the place!<br/>Very Friendly staff and authentic Indian Food.

Charming little place, I'm always surprised with how empty it is because it's nice food and we'll priced. Comfortable setting and friendly staff. On our last visit, the Carlsburg beer had something very wrong with it (line cleaner in the pipe perhaps?) but other than that, pretty satisfied.

Now under new management, this Indian restaurant offers a huge choice of food, especially for the vegetarians.  It's a pity that I think this restaurant still suffers under the bad reputation of the previous owners, but people really need to give it a try as Indian Accent is a huge improvement on what the restaurant used to be like.  Very friendly service, great food, lots of choices, licenced and BYO.  Since we were let down by our previous Indian local (repeat bad experiences put us off), this is our new Indian local and we've often been guilty of going more than once in a week!

Great little Indian place in Mt Wellington. The food is very authentic, and I love the variety of food, they do a great mix of indo Chinese, and they do it well! Nann bread is the best I have ever had. Especially love the hot and sour soup. Typical pricing for an Indian Restaurant, but they do have good lunch specials. Service is a 3/5 they are a bit slow but highly recommend for the food!

Called in here for lunch with a friend to kill some time after reading other people's reviews and a recommendation from a friend some time ago. We're very glad we did.<br/><br/>The decor is excellent from the door at the entrance to good spacing between tables - there's nothing worse than sitting in the pocket of the diner at the next table. The draped fabric below the ceiling makes the whole place seem very spacious.<br/><br/>It was very quiet (Monday) and the service was excellent and attentive without being intrusive.<br/><br/>The menu is extensive yet we both settled on Biryani - lamb for me and chicken for my friend. It was without doubt the best Biryani I've ever had. There was only one thing that I would say could improve it and that is adding a little chopped cucumber to the yoghurt raita. I've never liked cucumber in any other circumstances but I missed it.<br/><br/>The prices are toward the higher end of what is normally expected from Indian restaurants but that doesn't detract from the experience at all.

Decent Indian food. I usually get the chicken tikka masala and it never disappoints. The Chinese chilli chicken is very nice too. Pity the Chinese dishes don't come with rice though

It's hard to think about what to eat every day... Maybe some Indian food for a mizzly Friday? <br/>This Indian restaurant is very Indian! I like it! Spacious too! <br/><br/>Beautiful Masala tea. Mini Mixed appetisers - hehe, a good start for the meal ^_~ délicieux! <br/>Lunch special - lamb biryani! It looked different from the one I had in Singapore, but! Still taste good! Big portion, it was too big! Too big for me! Good for people who have bigger stomachs and good appetites!

Indian accent at Lunn Avenue, replaces the Punjabi Dhaba. The owners are spot on with the menu, decor and service. Lunch specials starting $12.90 includes rice, naan ,papad and anything on mains...served in full portions and tempting. tried Veg anguri, a variation of Malai kofta with Veg Balls...delicious and as asked for Indian Hot! one of the best I have had. Definitely worth coming again<br/>Great. Service!
