Review Corner Burger - Auckland Central

Ted Bruce
Very good experience at corner burger. They have there own range of home made sodas which was nice. The burgers were cooked with all fresh ingredients. The staff are very positive which makes a nice atmosphere. The restaurant is very spacious. Good for having a meal with friends and parking is easy

Amazing burger joint! Flavours were very well balanced, patty was nice and juicy, and just rhe right amount of filling. Came on a weeknight and the place was empty, they have themes for each night too - so a great hang out place. Definitely coming back.

Everything was just great as shown on the photo but it would’ve been greater if burger had more sauce in it. The lady who served us was just lovely and friendly. Recommend this place!

Bloody good burgers, staff friendly apart from a little mishap that was rectified. Atmosphere was a little dark and gloomy, and had to go next door for my coffee fix as they only offer filter coffee which in my opinion is bad, very bad. All up an enjoyable experience.

Had a lovely dinner here. The spicy burger was delicious. Would love to have it a little bit spicier, but it was great nevertheless. The fries were really nice as well. For 6$, you can get fried and soda of your choice. Staffs were very friendly. Would love to come here to try another burger.

My favourite burger joint in Auckland. Burgers are massive & delicious. Great beer selection and atmosphere. Thanks guys

I’m on a mission at the moment to find places that do good burgers and good craft beer. This place definitely ticks the box for good burgers. The beer was fine (there’s Panhead APA on tap) but it’s not a “15 rotating taps” kinda place. We had the beef burger and the lamb burger. The beef was apparently tasty (my husband ate it) and had a good amount of cheese. The lamb patty was a tad on the dry side, but still tasty, complimented by some lovely feta. I’m also happy to report that the Buns weren’t brioche (can we please move past that trend...). We liked the fries too, served with some good aioli. Corner Burger occupies a former gas station site and they’ve done a good job of transforming inside to diner style seating, along with outdoor seating to watch the world go by. This place will be added to my Sunday beer & burger list.

The food and the service were amazing! Just a bit disappointing that they’re still using plastic straws. (We brought our own metal ones) But the pulled pork loaded fries were the best! Vegan and Vege friendly options are available too.

Was so good. Service is amazing and food is so tasty and filling. Definitely recommend if your near there to call in and grab something

This place is exactly what you’d want for a burger joint: great burgers - I had the spicy and the kids the chicken and beef classic- , good fries, even better milkshakes, groovy decor, outdoor area and upbeat music. 👍

Ordered from here one afternoon and had the worst experience ever. The onion bhaji burger was burnt on the outside but completely raw on the inside. The chicken burger was so so- the cole slaw used seemed a bit odd.
Tried it for the first time and was very disappointed ☹️

The pigs in New Zealand are fed better. Under cooked and tasteless burger and fries for $27. My one and only visit to this place in my neighbourhood. I would have been more pleased to have paid $27 for a tin of soup.

Really cool decor, service and food. Atmosphere was a bit lacking but that is probably because we went after school with our kids 😉

Second time tried corner burger, first in newmarket and second one in mt eden. Too bad when we were in mt eden they didn’t have the lamb classic burger. So we only ordered beef classic and spicy beef. In my opinion the beef in here a bit tasteless compare with the one that I tried in newmarket. But the place is nice and cozy too spend time with friend and family

The chicken burger with deep fried brie sounded so good on the menu. Ahh where was the chicken?? Tiniest, thinnest piece of chicken that was fried to death. Chewy as. The fried cheese was also tiny and well over done, not gooey inside at all. For $20 this was the most disappointing burger ever.
The pulled pork fries were yummy, and the oreo shake redeemed the meal somewhat.
Staff were friendly and love the location, however the burger was supposed to me the star of the show and it was terrible.
Will not be back as the burger selection in Aucks is great.

Definitely rate “that burger-double” in my top 5 best burgers from around the world (I’ve had a lot of burgers). Had it twice and did not disappoint both times will probably come back again before I leave tomorrow

Massive delicious burgers, be ready to get messy. Tried their spicy beef classic, winner winner chicken and corner classic, classic chicken in different visits to CB.. Winner winner was a bit sweet for my palate, yet tasty enough. The others were delicious. However, not a big fan of their in house soda/drink.

Have had the worst Burger ever.
Sorry, but I used to really like this place
Something happened, and they served me a beef burger that's been cooked about 3 days ago, then cooked again, and then warmed up for me.
It was Hard as stone, absolutely Inedible, left all of it on the plate.
They asked "was it all good?"
I said, nope, mine was not good.
No more questions asked.
Not returning ever again.

I luuuuuuuuuuurve this place! What initially temps me is the sides, but the burgs are also so good!
I LOVE their deep fried cheese balls on the top of some of their burgers, man I wish these were a stand-alone side! A also love the gooey, slightly spiced jalapeño poppers - these are probably my fave.
The poutine fries are out of this world.
And I really love the simple burgers they have on their menu, they really nail these....
I’ve also tried gluten free buns with vege patty - not out of necessity, but for calories and curiosity- I guess if this is the way you need to eat, it wasn’t bad - it could have done with some more sauce perhaps as naturally the patty and the bun aren’t as moist - but it’s better than burger fuels attempt.
Anyways - wrapping up now.
Stick to the simple burgers, less ingredients more authentic I reckon - and these guys nail it.
Also, if your stomach permits.... try ALL the sides, or Atleast the jalapeños and poutine 👍🏼🍔🤤

Such great Burgers! Quality might have decreased since the last time I visited in 2018. The burger has gone smaller and the aioli dip is more on the liquid side. Burgers still taste great though.

A nice burger joint in mt eden, got a classic beef, jalapeno poppers and a shake - They were all so yummy, especially the shake; will come back again for sure!b

Had 'that burger' with extra pickles and mushroom. Oh wow it was so fricking juicy and delicious. Would highly recommend!
Got the Snickers shake as well. Bit sweet for me. Then again all shakes are too sweet for me.
Would return.

Great burger outlet. Burgers are always on point and so are the fries. Normal or loaded. Theres not a burger i have been disappointed with so far.
This outlet is very nicely fitted out with a cosy lil outdoor area too.
Prices are not cheap but not ridiculous like some other burger outlets.
Staff are always friendly and helpful.
Sure worth a try if you in the area and wanting a tasty burger. Also a licensed premises.

Friendly service, tasty food, great chips, nice home made soda. A few too many annoying flies outside, ground might need a rinse off, but otherwise very good. Price on the highish side for burgers but worth it. I had the spicy revisited. Took people's recommendations and asked for it spicier than usual. Excellent but could still go much hotter. Maybe a heat scale choice would be good on this option?
Great casual dining, good outdoor seating, quality food selection and a great beer and wine menu. If you are looking for somewhere to meet a group of friends, or go on a first date, this is a good option. With 2 vegetarian burgers, and bunless carb free, gluten free options, on top of the usual beef chicken and lamb burgers, it's sufficient enough for most dietry needs. It is after all a burger restaurant, so the menu is well balanced, and not bloated with un-necessary menu fillers. 2 hour free parking around the corner, and a dedicated takeout waiting area, with plenty of room to park your Lime scooter out front, makes this place my go-to burger joint.
Matchstick Reviews
This is by far my favourite burger joint, I have been coming here for years now. In my mind the burgers are the best in Auckland along with the fries, enough said really.

The food here is why I keep coming back, the fries are the best fries around, no question. The burgers are all delicious but my go to is the chicken classic. The coating on the chicken itself is to die for. The buns, oh man the buns are so great. Proper burger buns that aren't too sweet and have the perfect texture. My only quarell here with the food is the gluten free options. They do offer gluten alternatives, but my partner continues to find that they don't cut it compared to other places. The gluten free buns are disappointing, and who really wants a naked burger? Corner burger used to do b-cos lettuce wraps, and they need to bring them back. When they had them (which they supposedly do on their website) my partner had the same views of this place as me. She used to regard this as the best burger joint in Auckland like me, but she can no longer grant that accolade. So corner burger, I urge you to bring them back!

The aesthetic of the place is comfortable and very relaxed which works perfectly for a burger joint, nothing more is needed. It's simple, tidy with an American vibe. Although it is beginning to look a bit tired with flaking leather chairs. There is also a nice outdoor arrangement which is perfect for summer.

The staff here are friendly and efficient. They did go through a period of slow service, but appear to habe now rectified the issue. The food came out promptly and we were definitely looked after.

Overall I will always claim this to be the best burgers in Auckland, but the gluten free options need to be updated with the reintroduction of the b-cos lettuce wraps. But there is no doubting the fries here a definitely the best! I would recommend this place to anyone but I can't give it a 5* because of the gluten free disappointment and the tired looking aspects of the interior.

Me and my friend were delighted with the exceptional level of service at Corner Burger the other night! Staff were so friendly and patient and the food was incredible, and super fast to get to our table. Great experience.

Had the ‘That’ burger, fries and snickers shake. The burger was sumptuous, meat was so juicy, crispy bacon and not overly saucy - overall 5/5 for the burger. The chips were also delicious, crisp and hot but not overly done or under done. And the snickers milkshake went down a treat as well was creamy and tasted exactly like snickers, but this wasn’t overly sweet or sickly.

Service was very quick and efficient.

Would come here again! Thanks!

Great burgers went on a lazy Sunday afternoon I'm a gluten free vegan and veganizing the baji burger was no problem. Great comfy booths movie sundays for kids too if your that way inclined.

3 friends and I tried all their classic burgers (beef, chicken, lamb, vegetable). Was an alright experience - nothing too fancy. The vegetable classic was rather dry though. Had the poutine fries as well, which seemed like cheese fries instead (with a little gravy).
Gnxsta23
Had lunch here today with my work , what a awesome burger joint , ordered the classic beef with side of fries , food came out quick nice and hot , chips were delicious 10/10 , burger was yum as 8/10 I feel the pattie could of had a lil bit more seasoning still tasty tho, overall very happy thanks

Don't tell my doctor. I honestly love this place more than necessary, the burgers are top notch and very tasty. Im a vegetarian and often find it hard to find good burger options that aren't only lettuce and tomato on bread. Corner burger provides 2 vegetarian options both of which i love but just beet it always hits the mark for me, the beetroot patty is what really makes this burger. The buns are also homemade, fluffy and lust-worthy.

Really tasty burgers and the milkshakes are awesome.
Friendly and fast service and a cool vibe.
Decently sized burger and if you get it with fries it's a complete meal.

Came here for Saturday night dinner and this is how it went: Good vibes, nice fitout, great music, very fast service, polite staff, I ordered a classic beef burger the texture was on point perfect amount of crispyness and juicy and yeh very yum however quite lacking in flavour, tasty but nothing that made me go wow I'm getting that again sometime.....also got the poutine chips, definitely not the best I've had, had more cheese than gravy....for me it's more gravy than cheese that makes a good poutine anyhow apart from that.... definitely a must try you won't be let down .
Calvin
Typical burger joint, fair prices, burger taste good, quality patty, fries are crispy and overall well presented.

Food- 8.5/10
Service- 8.5/10
Aesthetics- 8.5/10

See my review of Corner Burger Greenwoods Corner
Very enjoyable each time I have been here
Maybe not the best burgers in town but worth trying as are the sides

I was walking around mount eden with a flatmate looking for something for dinner and found corner burger! The atmosphere was great and the servers were very prompt. The food came out quickly and had a great range of combos! I ordered the winner winner chicken burger which was amazing although I couldn't finish it with some fries and an old fashioned lemonade both were excellent. Overall I couldn't find anything to fault them on and and unfortunately the food was soo enticing I didn't manage to take any pictures before I gobbled it up! So I will definitely be back!
Georgia Vossen
Fairly average burger, nothing too special. On the smaller side but well priced, menu has variety. Kumara fries were good. This is based in a good spot in mount Eden though, nice outdoor area and friendly staff. Has potential.. just need a little oomph.
DCfood
The burger patties in the corner classics were juicy and had a good flavour. However the buns were quite stale and the chips were too oily. This place has potential. Onion would be a Good addition too!
Hasiba Zareh
Omg who would have thought fries and gravy would be the most amazing experience!
My chicken burger was your standard burger! Nothing bad! But nothing about it really stood out.

100% heading back for the fries! Such cool little booth areas. We also had the most lovely service!
Christopher Pearce
Really enjoyed the food here - the portions were decent and the food was tasty. I had one of the chicken burgers with a shake and was very pleased.

We dined at Corner Burger on a Tuesday night with a groupon voucher. The restaurant was quiet, almost empty. I got the classic chicken burger, it was delicious, well seasoned with a nice spicy sauce and slaw and very crispy fried chicken. The fries were also great! The large is the perfect serving size to share, but the aioli sauce was a bit watery. Overall a nice meal, good service, good atmosphere. We will visit again in the future.

Was really looking forward to visiting Corner Burger but was unfortunately disappointed. Kumura fries were really good but the rest of the meal didn't live up to expectations. The fried chicken was much smaller than expected (which would've been fine, but the server said it was good for sharing), the soda lacked flavour and the burger had all the right ingredients but was colder than I would've expected (not stone cold, but it felt as if it had been sitting for 5 minutes).
Diogo Reck
Must confess I was expecting more from Corner Burger after I was ranked one of the best burgers in Auckland. the burger itselft was good, but nothing more than that. Also found it strange they didn't ask about the doneness of the patty, as most good places do. In the end, it wasn't as juicy as I like, but it was well seasoned.

Fries were a disappointment, way too soggy. The artisan soda was good.
Hharkirat Siingh
A great little resto-bar at a great location. Staff was lovely and the food was great. A tiny bit more flavour in food and it's a 5* from my side. Would definitely go again!
Chenzah
Nice ambience and the service is top notch;the staff are friendly and patient. The letdown is the food itself is very average, been twice and both times I felt underwhelmed by the meal. The sides are plain, and the burgers are decent but pretty boring and not up the the standard for the price point they're charging.
Steph
Here's a gluten free Corner Burger! If you're someone who tends to struggle a bit eating a Burgerfuel sized burger this is a really nice in-between. Though it probably doesn't look like much this spicy gluten free burger was something really special. Not often you get a properly spicy burger which I really enjoyed and everything was perfectly balanced. Nice indoor and outdoor areas with quite different vibes. Will definitely be back! Staff are great too.
Jennykakariki
Corner burger is exactly what you want on the weekend. Burger and a beer. The burgers are good and they’re a nice size, sometimes burgers can be a overwhelming in their size but these are perfect. I really enjoy coming here.
Oones Connor
Good burgers, good drinks, good fries, good atmosphere for a group. Casual friendly staff. Always a an easy full proof option. Have gone a few times and always satisfied.

Second time going here. Heard great things about this food joint prior to my first experience. I had a fly in my milk shake and also my and my friends burgers were all a mess, 90% sauce so careless and awful since the meat was also undercooked
I_like_pickles
I like the dining space here. It has a nice outdoor area near the road but still feels quite private despite the busy road.

The burgers are good. The fries are served in an American diner's style basket and come with a generous side of dipping sauce.
Renata Urbano-Uchida
Best burger ever! I've been to this place several times for dine-in and takeaway, the staff is always nice and the food is always delicious 😋
Sofy
Burger burger burger this a good place to satisfy your burger craving ... they were massive portions chips were overdone but burgers were the best part.
August Hislop
Was a really cool place but the food was a major let down. I ordered the vegetarian burger and the patty was burnt to a crisp 🙃, the fries were undercooked.

I came here with my husband for quick lunch.I ordered Classic chicken and Broccoli and my husband ordered That Burger and regular chips.Well my chicken came so dry and thin...Broccoli was really really greasy. Also The That Burger came to our table already falling apart and Beef pattie was hard so maybe they over cooked . the waiter he was really nice tho.
Nicbij
Deeelish! We got two of the Corner Burger icons, 'Sticky Fingers' pulled pork burger and the 'That Burger' (beef) huuuuge burgers!
The hand cut agria fries were perfect👌🏼
Quick and friendly service, even topped us up with more aioli!
Rae Zhang
The ingredients are fresh and the flavour is so delicious. However the presentation is horrible... The oninon ring was on half of the burger..!
Mmmfood
The burgers here are amazing! On top of that the atmosphere of the place is very nice and the staff are super friendly. The waiter accidentally gave me someone else's burger at first, so he gave us a takeaway box for the extra burger and served the burger I actually ordered (on his own accord). When I offered to pay for the extra burger, he vehemently declined. Now, that is what I call service. We will definitely be back for some more tasty burgers.
Bring The Hot Sauce
So many burger places round these days but Corner Burger is one to remember. Cool vibe about it, sit outside have a swappa of Lion Red (so good) 🍺 Nice selection of sides and the burgers are pretty delish 👌

Me and my bestie decided to head here for a catch up and dinner. One thing I love about Corner Burger is their amazing customer service(their staff are bubbly and a joy to be served by). We decided to go for a Corner and Lamb Burger. To accompany our burgers we went for a Soda and Snickers Shake.

The Burgers were standard, in fact my Lamb burger was a bit dry(very filling though). The highlight for me was the Snickers Shake, I will definitely be back for a Snickers Shake and Fries.
Julia Louise
The food is so delicious! Great options for gluten free/vege/vegan. The chips here have to be some of the best in Auckland and I can hardly ever finish a burger and chips - very filling. They have wine/beer and make really nice house made soda flavours too. This is the second Corner Burger outlet with the original in Epsom but the advantage of the Mt Eden store is that you can eat (and drink) in.
Stacey
The service here is fantastic. Very friendly staff. Vegan option is available: the menu said the burger was vegetarian they were happy to make me a vegan burger and removed all dairy.
Jacqui Marie Imbroane
As an American, I'm sure I could tell you all about the hamburger. This place has it all. A nice clean menu in terms of a selection. Don't let that be a concern. The flavour is all there! Absolutely a delicious hamburger from start to finish. Everything is fresh, takes a while to make, but it's worth the wait. I highly recommend the poutine fries or the special fries. Who doesn't love fried chicken on top of more fried fries? Covered in cheese and gravy! Bloody brilliant.

Be sure to wear your pants larger than normal because the portions may look reasonable, but they are MORE than you'd expect.

Get a shake while you're at it. Bounty shake or Snickers is just as good as the candy! Fabulous work! I really think you'd enjoy it if you are looking for a great burger experience.
Jeffie
I'm on a personal search for the best burger in town so I thought we should give this place a try.

The service is your usual standard, I left a tip though and the waitress was very appreciative of it.

Ambience is cool, like a nice take on your neighbour hood hangout and felt quite fitting to me.

We had the combos for Cheat Meal, Winner Winner, kumara fries and onion rings as well. Everything was brought out in a timely manner and all was very delicious. We cut the burgers in half so we got to try both, they were great, quite big which I like but being a carb junkie, the fries and rings were my favorites. We were absolutely stuffed by the time we got through everything.

Definitely give this place a try if you like burgers and fries.

My friends and went for dinner here last night.
The ambience is great: 4.5/5.
It's immediately nice and toasty as you enter with moody lighting and cool design.
There's heaps for seating. Either sitting out at the front of the restaurant, at a tables with stools, chairs or at curved booths.
It's a great place for groups and a casual meal.
Bonus points for the music selection.

I ordered the classic Vege Burger.
And the food let me down: 2/5.
This burger had the cliche vegetarian burger fault. The texture was mush on mush. The onion bhaji patty was bland, I could see slices of onion but not taste the onion or any other inherent Indian spices. It just tasted like plain fritter batter. When my first burger came out the bhaji patty was verging on burnt. All I could taste was char but there was texture. But I had to ask for another as I couldn't eat the first one. Overall the burger didn't have much flavour, the best thing about it was the minted cucumber yoghurt providing crunch and freshness.
*Corner Burger only had 1 vegetarian option off the printed menu (apart from craft your classic) so I would expect that single option to be a banger. But my meat-eating friends loved their Lamb and Fish Classic so the food in general isn't that bad.

The service was perfect: 5/5.
They're attentive, approachable and just plain old nice.
I didn't feel weird asking for another burger and they check up on us when we actually needed it.
Also the store had a great promotion to win a double pass to the Blues game for customers. Which I won.

My rating is pretty subpar because of my vegetarian dilemma. Mainly based on my meal, I was disappointed and had to give them a lower rating.
But I would recommend this place, just not if you're vegetarian.
Yusoff Kamal
I love the ambience of this place. Great location, great set up and great vibe. I give it 4.5 easy.

They can accomodate a group of 10 people which is awesome.

The staff is friendly and efficient.

The peanut butter millshake is a must have. I do think the fish burger need a new-makeover 🙊🙊🙊🙈
Not mad at it tho.

Definately will try something else for food.. overall experience, a great place to go again.

I've just had one of the best burgers and milkshakes in my life. Lamb burger and snickers shake. I'm a head chef and I never give reviews on places I've been to eat so this is a first . I even downloaded zomato to let you know ingredients and flavour combinations are spot on . I like the rustic pea mint and coriander salsa (nice touch) .

The only thing I can think that can bring even more atmosphere and customers would be to have a big screens with American sport and local sport for everyone to enjoy while they eat quality burgers and shakes.
Also if your fries were more like frites like how the French make them. If you've ever had fries in France then u would get were I'm coming from.

Anyway superb idea and well done
Vivian Lightbloom
Average burgers. They weren't bad, just nothing particularly interesting about them. The poutine was just chunky chips with some cheese baked on top and a dollop of gravy. Meh... The waitress couldn't even pronounce it.

There's nothing making me want to go back here except the convenient spot.
Dondon3000
Last supper in mt eden and to go out with a bang I had this epic burger.

The service was ok, we had to ask for menus. It was nice of the person to tell us about the wait time. I wanted to eat the biggest burger and man they didn't disappoint. Burger poutine fries were both awesome.

My only feedback would be the buns it must of been sitting on the grill and kept warm as it was crumbly. I'm sure they were brioche buns. But apart from that it's all good.
Tavita Milford
Their Chicken Classic burger was definitely one of the best choices I made when I came here. The taste of fried chicken and the sauces that went with and not to forget the fries, it sure made my stomach full. So for all you fitness fanatics out there who are looking for a place too get a cheat meal, this is the place.

The service was great, very kid and friendly and despite the waiting time being a bit longer than average because of what I ordered, just receiving the order makes the anticipation grow.

It loos relatively new when you go inside, but there are signs of being established for quite some time in the area. Their lighting and decor is just right, not too bright and not too dark. They have different types of chairs and tables which adds a good change in design.
Neil Jones
First time visiting Corner Burger of many more yet to come. If you like good food and giant helpings then I suggest that you visit here. As you can see the thick shakes are wonderful and the burgers well .... not often I have to use a knife and fork to eat a burger but definitely no other way around it here. Great work team a awesome first impression. Your staff are so friendly and provide top service.

Good to have a hip new burger place in mt Eden saves us driving all the way to ponsonby or new market.
Their hot wings are the besssssttttt!!! 🍗👌🏽
Kiwi Eats Asia
Sipped the snickers shake with little caramelly bits in it and went immediately to heaven. Burgers were decent, but not overly memorable. I love lamb burgers but the beef one was surprisingly much juicier here. The sauce and things that came in the lamb burger were really tasty vs. classic beef burger which tasted pretty plain. Buns were fair, better than many around Auckland. Fries were a big let down, kind of dry and blah. Would have done loaded fries but found them quite expensive. Portion size was decent for fries and burgers. I would like to see more special burgers on the menu - lamb kofta burger? Southern fried chicken burger? 3 cheese beef burger? Taiwanese flavoured pork burger? Sorry just getting carried away. Would be back just for that shake.
USADINER
I dined here last evening with my band. I would have preferred some healthier options such as free range or corn fed chicken etc but overall it was a satisfying meal. Although I normally eat only GE free products I appreciate it's not catered for at most establishments.
Genie @ BunnyEatsDesign
Corner Burger has a diner feel and is unexpectedly roomy inside with seating outside as well. My first choice of burger, the fish classic was unavailable and I admit, I may have been hasty in ordering the lamb classic instead. I found the addition of peas to this burger a bit of a miss. The meat patty was overcooked and too small for the bun. However the loaded fries are really good and almost made up for the burger. We had both the pulled pork and the poutine. I loved them both. I think I'd come back just for their loaded fries and give the burgers a miss.
Emma W
My partner and I had lunch here with a group of friends. Previously we had been to the takeaway shop style Epsom branch. We were pleasantly surprised to find this branch is a full restaurant with courtyard.

We ordered a Corner and Vege Classic. Those we were with ordered all sorts of poutine, including with brisket and enormous burgers. The menu at this branch is more extensive than we found at Epsom.

The Corner Classic burger was good again but the Vege Classic was a real letdown. The onion bhaji patty was a mushy mess which made eating the burger unpleasant. Luckily they didn't overcook or over season the fries like the Epsom branch.

A good burger place for meeting friends if you want a change from Burgerfuel but reasonable prices.
Foodie123
Burgers were very well made, had the classic burger and spicy chicken classic with kumara fries and a snickers shake. Great quality burgers and shakes (loved the spicy chicken option, chicken could have been a tad spicier but that's just a personal preference :D) Excellent service and overall great experience. Would definitely recommend.
Husk Creative
In recent years burgers have become the latest foodstuff to be engulfed in a category war in Auckland, as multiple great establishments vie for 'top dog' (or should that be 'top bun'?) in the Auckland food scene. Burger Burger, Better Burger and the Bearded Clam all tacitly make their imposing presence felt, challenging any new potential entrants with their creative and very tasty offerings. Thus, it's always interesting to see new greenhorns emerge and watch how they attempt to set themselves apart.

Corner Burger's menu offers a refined list of burgers, broken into basic 2 categories – $12 value 'Classics' and the signature 'Icon' series. The service was great and the flavours strong, along with nice soda and shake drink options. The Huskies came away impressed from the visit, with fomo for each other's orders even extending to the shakes. Having previously ordered takeaway on an earlier occasion, this visit was a second round and chances are it won't be the last.

Check out our individual comments here: husk.co.nz/lunches/corner-burger-september-2016

Siddharth Badam Sakshi Kumeri , this was quite sad. Had the classic corner burger which was a beef patty but it was flavourless. I could only feel the sauces. Beef was overcooked. Ambience ok. Staff ok. Quite let down

This place has a great ambiance. It looks small from the outside but has ample seating. Great place for catching up with friends. I ordered the Corner Burger Icon - That Burger with poutine and snickers dessert burger. The poutine is amazing and a meal in itself. The gravy and cheese are a perfect combination. The service here is good. The waitresses are friendly and prompt.

Beef burger - the best! Pattie medium rare, bun brown and slightly chewy, just like home made as your mother made them.
Chips with skin on but only so so.

Very nice & clean comfortable place to dine in. The workers were very friendly and persuasive I must say lol. We ordered the "that burger", lamb burger, special extra loaded fries, kumara fries & they all tasted amazing! Snickers milkshake also topped it off alongside the blueberry lime soda which I personally loved! Thank you for an awesome food experience especially to the boys at the bar. we will definitely be coming back for more! (:

Tried out this new joint the other day and can honestly say I've never eaten a better burger - it was absolutely delicious! I eat out around Ponsonby and the central city a lot and can tell you Corner Burger is ahead of the curve. I also had a snickers thick shake and some loaded fries and all were a pretty special food experience. These guys seriously know what they are doing. Great service, menu options, and all round vibe. Definitely check this place out!!

Food was excellent and wasn't too over priced.
Kumara fries were the best I've had.
Heaps of seating and quick service. It's also great that there are two options for the fries sizes and adding poutine is unreal 😍

Great place to eat, it has really nice atmosphere and the service was quick and really helpful. I have only one word for the burgers and that is WOW, definitely some of the best I have had in Auckland. Will go there again and again and again.

Dined here on a Wednesday night the place was pretty busy despite being on a week night. We were seated promptly after arrival. Ambiance is great clean and staff were all very accommodating. We ordered two $20 burgers (classic beef and brisket) and they were amazing, good value for your money. Flavours were spot on and very generous with the meat! We also ordered small fries and Kumara and they were massive and their snickers milkshake was the best I've had. Overall really nice place, great food and staff. Special thanks to Charles, Alex and his team for looking after us!

Walked past this place on the day it opened and asked if we could just have a quick look inside as it looked really nice and decided we would go there soon. Tried a couple of times but with a 45 minute wait for a burger decided to wait a few weeks. Last week rang up and ordered with a 15 minute wait which is fine, we arrived on time and got home just a few minutes later and the food was stone cold. The 'handcut fries' we had been looking forward to were disgusting burnt little pieces of shrivelled up potato - totally inedible (see photo), only fit for the bin. A shame as this corner is quite lively now with a few good eateries, they must have spent a fair amount on the Corner Burger but need to up their act if they want to be around longer term with so many options in the village.

Not a bad burger joint. The place was quite busy on a Wednesday night. With only 2 people working the floor, the service was slow, the burgers took 20 minutes to arrive... but it was worth it!

We ordered the lamb burger and the meat cheat burger both were excellent! And the poutine! The poutine was just as good as the ones i had in Vancouver! We asked for the burger to be cut in half so we can try everything and the chef obliged. Will definitely come back to try other things in the menu.
Our family has had takeaway burgers. The chicken burgers got a big thumbs up. We had fish burgers, but the fish we think was frozen, and had a strange spicy flavour added, and not to our taste. The chips were very good and the shakes were also enjoyable.

Nice burger joint. It is quite a large place for a burger place! The decor was quite funky and different with the retro round tables (I wasn't so keen on them). We sat in the corner, the whole place was quite dark which didn't suit the ambiance of the restaurant.

The staff were very friendly and quick. I love the complimentary sparkling water. We got two vege burgers that had an lovely onion bhaji bun with lots of sauce, and a great mix of salad. The brioche buns were nice maybe a tad dry. The chips were good too! We also had the deep fried pickles which were good, but I think a less thick batter would be better.

Overall it was a nice place.

Miserable Saturday, fantastic burger. One criticism would be that the agria potato fries were soggy. They were fresh, hot and tasted great but still soggy. Will definitely come back to try other burgers. This time I had 'That Burger', what a feed, this is a big burger and worth a crack if you are hungry.

After hearing rave reviews, my partner and I decided to give Corner Burger a go for dinner on Monday night.
At first glance, the decor is welcoming and service is warm. After being seated and placing our order we discovered there was a 30 minute wait time for food, slightly surprising as the restaurant was only half full but none the less, we are happy to wait for good burgers. If you could call these ‘good’, I would just call them ‘ burgers’.

My partner had the Corner Classic with a Bounty shake while I ordered the Chicken Classic with a side of fries and a soda.
We were both to say the least, disappointed.

The Corner Classic patty had flavour but was a fair bit smaller than the bun, the beef became rather lost in the condiments and at times, my partner was only getting mouthfuls of bread. The sauce, which is usually the saving grace, was nothing to write home about.

The Chicken Classic was a letdown, it completely lacked flavour and the sauce was something I could have picked up in a grocery isle. I will however rate the size and crunch of the fried chicken, this was good, but again, could have benefited from a dose of flavour.

The FRIES, I firmly believe you can tell a lot about a place by the quality of the fries. Fries are the perfect companion, a side of happiness to compliment the main event and make the experience all the more amazing. They are the reason you’re not bikini ready, regardless of how full you are, fries will find their way into your belly. The Corner burger fries however, are not worth your gym membership.

They arrived at the table, I was pleasantly surprised with the portion size, I was excited to dive right in. Alas, the flavour train had left the station and took with it everything that a fry should have. It is noted that they were generous with the salt, but even that could not save the day.

The aioli was ok (though not enough for the portion of fries) and left a harsh taste of garlic in my mouth that I know will linger for the next two days.

The bounty shake was probably the only good thing that came out that night and it put on a good show for a reasonable price point of $6.

For the price point, I expected to be wowed, especially with Better Burger, Burger Burger and Andy’s as a direct comparison when it comes to $$

As it is a relatively new joint, it may need some time to grow into itself. Perhaps the Corner Icons have something going for them that the Classics don’t?

I cannot fault the service and the restaurant is well presented.

2.5 out of 5 stars.

So good! Fish burger was really tasty, had lots of sweet flavours going on. Chips were freaking delicious. Service was fantastic - all really friendly and helpful. Location us awesome and the outdoor seating was perfect for a warm spring day. Will be back for sure

This place had a really nice ambience. It also is huge, which I wouldn't have guessed from the outside. The burgers are really good, simple but delicious. I had the fried chicken burger that was great. Also they have good house sodas

This place has a primo spot in Mt Eden and will do great. Service was amazing. Really friendly staff- nothing was too much trouble. Even though the place looked busy they squeezed us in without problem. Today I had a Classic Corner Combo. Burger was very tasty and the chips with aioli was amazing. Will definitely be back.

The newly opened corner burger in Mt Eden is fantastic! It's big with indoor seating and a takeaway bar. They have a great menu with all the usual gourmet burger options as well as some extra special ones for those with big appetites. We had the corner classic and 'that burger' as well as their shakes and fries. The servings were so generous we could finish it all!
