Review Hansik - Auckland Central

What can I say ? If you want to experience a fancy Korean dining moment, this is the place for it. Everything here is just so nice and I have nothing to complain about. The food was very delicious. The ambience is some kind of different level from any other Korean restaurants in town that I have ever tried. Very very friendly and thoughtful staffs. This place just deserves so much more love and attention. What a hidden gem and I’m really happy that I found it.

This is definitely one of the more upscale Korean restaurants in the city. The prices are a bit higher than others, which is probably mostly due to the ambience and location. The food tastes pretty good and some of the portions are quite large (neither of us finished our meals, and had enough for leftovers the next day). Only minor gripes would be only two side dishes (though they were pretty good) and some menu items were not exactly as described - eg the menu said bibimbap has mushrooms and the bulgogi does not, but when we got the meals the bibimbap didn't have any but the bulgogi did. To be fair though, for a nice Korean meal out, I'd probably come back.

Lovely place for a couple or group. We tried the "land" meal and were wondering after the first two courses if it was the right choice however the food kept coming and was delicious. In the end we had both had enough and nothing was wasted. Next time we will try another part of the menu. The staff were all courteous and friendly and timely bringing each course to us. We sat by the window and the sunset was no problem with the blind there. Highly recommended for a nice night out. Photos are all of the meal however the first two courses were bite sized and devoured pretty quickly before photos could be taken... 👍

Was great for a Korean family meal, especially when sitting in the 2 partially enclosed back areas with the bench seats that staff can walk around. Naturally ordered a multi-course tasting menu to get a bit of everything, more than I could list out here. The night we went was surprisingly quiet but it might have been later than usual dinner times. Liked the aesthetic overall inside this old converted warehouse.

Food:(5/5) Had a wonderful lunch at Hansik. I had the Bulgogi and my friend had the Bibimbap. Didn’t try my friend’s one but my Bulgogi was so delicious. The portion was big and the beef was so flavourful and tender. Service:(5/5) Staff here were very friendly. Service was fast as well. If you’re looking for a price friendly and tasty fine dining Korean restaurant in city, Hansik has it all.

Authentic Korean food, very tasty. Best unagi I've ever had. Their lunch sets are super worth. Bulgogi lunch set was fantastic as well.

Excellent service, lovely food and great value for money. Loved the atmosphere and the chef tailored my dish to my dietary needs with no problem. Will be back again
Angie Leong
Surprisingly good fusion restaurant. The food was good and staff was right about the portion (for four person we had 2 entrée and 2 main and that's plenty enough food). Definitely would go back and try the set menu next time.

Came in for lunch - beautifully presented beef tartare bibimbap is 👌👌. Everything fresh and tasty, a real pleasure of a meal. Good service and outdoor seating area too. Thank you!

Always a delicious dinner experience. The fried chicken is to die for and the portions are plentiful. Hidden from the main streets, it’s definitely worth seeking out!

Tried the Monday special - Fried chicken rice bowl. Very nice dish, definitely back to try more on the menu

Great ambience and amazing food with friendly and smiling staff The spicy children rice was full of flavour and so were the soy paste soup and the spicy tofu soup Coming back again for sure

Came here for dinner on a weeknight and we were the only ones in the restaurant, not sure if its busier/ more vibrant on the weekend but wasn't a lot of atmosphere. Pretty generic Korean menu, the food was quite good and the waiter was helpful suggesting dishes/ quantity to order. It was a little on the expensive side considering size of dishes and sides.

Emptied bowls n plates tell it all ^^ bimbimbap and salmon junsik ^^ ended in our tummy, just right portions for both of us, it’s yum, can’t taste any MSG, n we are not thirsty during and after the meal, we shall be back soon 💝💝

HIdden gem? GOOD PLACE for authentic korean food. Feeling fancy tonight. Love it. Good job guys.

Great traditional Korean food, great soft music, great service.

Unfortunately forgot to take more pictures. We ordered the beef bulgogi which was so tender, the eel which by far one of the best eels I've had. We also had the bibimbap and spicy pork which I found rather average.

We were invited here by a prominent Korean businessman The staff were very friendly and we ate almost every dish on the menu food just seem to keep coming. The food was amazing, service was very attentive, ambience was very relaxed, I would throughly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Simply loved the taste of Korea at this great restaurant. We will definite go back with our families & book the private traditional dining area (floor style). The food was just delicious, packed with flavour & good portion for the well priced options.

Highly recommend the set menus. Delicious The restaurant isn't crowded like others. Service was slow at times.

Beautiful venue, delicious food and nice variety of it. Also very entertaining. The staff attentive, friendly, helpful. Will come back again.

Ordered takeaways.<br/>Bbq chicken 5/5 excellent flavors.<br/>Seafood soondubu 5/5 woooow. All I can say is I recommend you try this. <br/>Looking forward to eating at the restaurant.

Been to this place for more than 8 times to satisfy my craving for Korean foods, yet they never disappoint me once👍 If you have a big appetite for the eyes but not so big for the stomach, make sure you order one dish only as their dish portion is very very generous! Hands down for the soondobu jigae 💯 Perfect remedy for rainy cold days of winter. The fried chicken tenders are a bit pricy for the portion but taste was good. Never forget the banchans, they are just delicious!

we used to love visiting this place pre lockdown with great quality food and friendly staff. we visited again for the first time in many months to spoil ourselves only to be left slightly underwhelmed and disappointed with a change in the set menus offering less dishes at an increased price. notably one of the meat dishes presented before the main course in the Sky set was no longer there and there is no dish replacing it, yet the price of the set menu has increased. looked like there has been a change in management and/or chefs. sad to say we will no longer be visiting Hansik anytime soon :(

Service is good. The place is large and decorated like a cozy cabin, with semi private tables at the back.<br/>They take private function bookings where the food is prepared as a buffet style, with a mixture of Korean and slightly japanese style of food. Food quality was pretty good, and would be suitable for wedding reception and baby birthdays.<br/>Marinated meat on sizzling plate and Chicken Cutlet on Sizlling plate in the lunch menu is quite nice<br/>Stone Pot Bibimbab is nice although its quite expensive compared to other places.

As mentioned below, Auckland's hidden Korean gem. We ordered "Hansik Table Course" and the "Sky" set menus. The food was DELICIOUS and there was sooo much... Between 4 of us, we could not finish all the food! My special mentions are the fritters and Marinated Spicy pork main from the "Hansik Table Course". The staff are so friendly, the cost is reasonable and the ambiance is wonderful. 10/10 would recommend!
Dm
Everything was great! Staff is amazing, taste of food is really good. Two issues - chicken with skin is a no go, at least for me, and I’d expect bit more small side dishes from a Korean restaurant. Will definitely go back
Alisa Hathaway
Stopped by for work lunch with the colleagues and what a treat! Hidden gem alright! Peaceful atmosphere yet buzzing with delicious smells, food being wheeled out on a trolley and warm smiles greeting you! Priced reasonably for lunch! Relaxing but fast service! Never rushed! And could sit and stay not leave! Kimchi soup was five stars! Large servings! Plenty for all.

I am surprised how many hidden wonders do we have here in Auckland, for such a small city there are many places I still yet to discover and try, take this place for example. I would not ever in my whole life would have visited this unless one of my friends told me to lunch out with him at this place.

My favorite Korean restaurant. The place is located on a discreet street in Freeman Bay with plenty of street parking. Inside is spacious and well decorated. <br/><br/>The place offers a good variety of fusion dishes with fresh ingredients and interesting spices.<br/><br/>They have excellent raw food, from sashimi salads to raw beef. The beef carpaccio is exceptional, fresh and well flavored. The salmon salad may be a little too spicy for some. The wagyu dumpling was a bland. The stone grilled beef was tender, but could taste better if it was marinated first.<br/><br/>They also offer complimentary snack like edamame and fried lotus root.<br/><br/>Recommended dishes: beef carpaccio, seared tuna, brisket beef salad, any rice cake related dishes. <br/><br/>Friendly and conversational staff. Reasonably priced for the quality of food and ambience.<br/><br/>Food: 9.5/10<br/>Food presentation: 9/10<br/>Service: 9/10<br/>Location: 8.5/10<br/>Ambience: 9/10<br/>Price $45 per person (excl alcohol)
Michael Chen
Location is great with plenty of parking nearby though it may be difficult when it gets busy. <br/><br/>Setting is nice and shop is nicely presented and very well designed with good atmosphere.<br/><br/>Food is really great with a good blend of Korean and more western mix. The raw beef was excellent. Plum wine is also very nice.<br/><br/>The only downside is that it is on the expensive side though and serving size can be a bit small.
Jason Wang
Western style Korean food, but still authentic food. Ordered set menu of SUN, great for two person. Quiet place not so crowded. Would recommend
Andrew
Best Korean restaurant in Auckland - have to be in the mood for it as would normally go for the lower range places but never beats it on pure quality.

We had hen’s night here. Got seated at lovely private section. Friendly and helpful service. We chose the $49pp degustation menu. Food was presented beautifully and it came one after another. Really enjoyed the pork and little pancakes. They make great cocktails too. Will try the bug banquet menu next time.

Really nice ambience and friendly staff... this place wasnt busy when we came (only another table of diner when we arrived). <br/>We ordered:<br/>stone pot bibimbap with beef - rice was very wet, beef was bland so I didnt really enjoy that<br/>Grilled beef brisket with salad - beef was okay<br/>Grilled eel set - this set comes with a small plate of fried chicken karage too which I think its quite worth it<br/><br/>Overall I think the taste was just okay, dishes weren’t bad but it wasn’t very yummy too. The side dish they served was normal, nothing much to fancy about.

We had lunch here and it was really tasty! Great lunch menu and everything was a reasonable price, as well as decent sized servings. Will definitely be back again 😊
FoodiesTable
Been there twice and they were closed for function but no notice on social media. Their food is generally very salty not fan of that. Service was good tho.
Evelyn
A place that I would go again. The food was great, nice environment as well. Only downside would be the side dish. Not many choices there, and it’s just not my thing, but my friend do love it. <br/>The soup was wonderful! Larger than other places and has 2 or 3 mussels in it. <br/><br/>Recommended!
Katerina
Great location with easy parking. Food is ajased to local taste. Way too sweet or not spicy enough. Presentation is good though. Expensive for no obvious reason. Could be a bit cleaner place too.
Vanessa Jones
This place has amazing food every time 😍 well deserved 5 stars. The service is always friendly and anything you order is guaranteed to be delicious!!<br/>
Dimitrios Konstantopoulos
This place is a 4* as far as food goes.<br/>Really tasty and looks genuine Korean.<br/><br/>but...<br/>it's a 2 or 3 in terms of service and hygiene.<br/>the place is a bit neglected and while the girls are cute they have no idea about real service.<br/><br/>prices are very reasonable.<br/>did not like the apple crumble as it was almost frozen.<br/>
I_like_pickles
Had dinner here and was pleasantly surprised at the way the food was plated here. Everything is beautifully plated and served nicely.<br/><br/>Some if the appetizers were rather small but very tasty and delicious. They have a lot if set menus which is great if you can't decide what you want to order.<br/><br/>The Korean BBQ was plentiful and very filling. I will definitely be back to try the lunch menu.

Been there with few friend <br/>Very bad service . <br/>Total ignore our request . <br/>Does not have most of drink available .<br/>Wouldn’t recommend to any friend .<br/><br/>
Lucyeatsakld
Got the sky set menu which is great value to be able to try so many different dishes. Lots of meaty dishes, loved the spicy fried chicken and beef bulgolgi. My only critique is that the courses came really quickly one after another with plates taken away before/soon as they were finished so felt a bit rushed eating.

Last Saturday my family and my soon to be brother in laws family were having a dinner together to discuss about the wedding, as it was our first time meeting each others family we have booked at hansik as its a fine dining restaurant. When we called to book we have mentioned we need a quite place as we need to talk about the wedding and they offered us to a room so we have approved and booked but on arrival we have found that it was not a proper room nor there was someone else’s first birthday party going on right next to our table, it was quite disappointing but as it was meant to be a happy day for them and us so we let it be but there was no bells on the table we had to wave to get the staffs attention or go to them for the whole time we were there as they were not paying attention to the customers chatting infront of the kitchen. So we asked if theres a bell and they replied with other group of table is using it so there is no bell to call the staff today, but then shouldn’t they pay more attention to the customers? We had to wait so long to drink even water as it was so hard to get their attention, also we had ordered course menus and one of the blonde male staff has slipped and dropped few of meats from the main dish he has apologised but that was it no extra service nor discount. Very disappointed with the staffs customers service manner on not paying attention to the customers needs.

I have ordered Bibimbap and it was amazing. It felt like I was having this dish back in Korea. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fab and can't wait to try other dishes later on

"Over rated" would be our conclusion based on our dining experience last night unfortunstley.<br/><br/>Menu's outdated and not relative to thier website. Which was unfortunate as we had already decided on some dishes prior to going there.<br/><br/>Food: Slightly above average Korean with an attempt on fancy plating teqniques. The rice was dry and stale - boarder line unedible.<br/><br/>Service: Below average, empty plates were left at our table for long periods of time while waiters would casually stroll past. Empty water glasses not topped up, was not asked if I would like a wine top up, a main dish was missed from our order, 30 minute wait for dessert. All these small things added up and it was not very busy at all. For ratings of 4.2 on Zomato and 4.5 on google our expectations were high however this is clearly a management issue and can be easily fixed with some leadership which on this occassion didnt appear to be any.<br/><br/>Overall: Pretty average, seemed to us like there is potential to be better or on this night they feel short of what they are meant to be "fancy Korean". Cant ever see us returning based off this experience. Not saying it was bad but just not of that you expect 4.2 on Zomato.

I like Korean food and been to many Korean restaurant. This Korean restaruant have good decoration but food was okay not make me feel excited.

We had the course meal at Hansik last night for our Easter get together and we all opted for the Sky set and also ordered the Korean style fritters as an appetizer. The course itself provided a good variety of dishes that were just right in terms of quantity. I really enjoyed the salmon salad as well as the chili fried chicken (sweet and spicy)! The beef rice cake was really disappointing as it lacked flavour and the rice cake pieces were quite thick and doughy. We had bulgogi beef as our main and I was really impressed by the fact that Hansik used Bibimbap as the accompanying rice rather than just a bowl of plain rice. The fritters were good as it provided variety- beef, vege and fish. The portion was quite small for $18. Overall, I had an enjoyable experience and but would just get a main dish (that comes with free side dishes?) next time!

One of my favorite Korean place in town. You get a set of Korean meal with very generous portions for under $20 (for lunch). Food here is consistently good (though not out of this world.) You can order anything off the menu and know that you'll be satisfied.<br/><br/>Really love the decor and service here. When I have lunch here it takes me away from the crazy world outside so I can just enjoy the food and have a very pleasant time.<br/><br/>Dinner is less impressive but still decent. Good for a romantic night out.

Way to expensive for the lack of flavour. White washed Korean. Weak kimchi. Over cooked duck. Can get real authentic Korean in the city for a faction of the price.
Alas
Way to overpriced for normal Korean food. You can get really good Korean in the city for a fraction of the price. The food was blend. No real hit. The kimchi was way too weak. $100 for two people for normal Korean and not fine dining cuisine is not good. The staff are friendly and service was good. But need to pay attention to people's water, as so many people had to keep asking for water. Need to spice it up a bit and lower the prices.

Went to Hansik on my friend’s birthday 2 months ago. The ambience was really warm and nice. The food were above than expected❤️ very nice and presented. Didn’t get chance to write a review about hansik lol. Overall the service was really nice. ❤️

Came here for dinner expecting a great experience and good food but left feeling extremely disappointed. Had the noble set menu and found the food below average. Our meat came out totally charred and blackened and everything else was bland. The only dish I enjoyed was the seaweed soup. <br/><br/>The entire meal was overpriced and we would have had a far more enjoyable meal with great tasting Korean food at a number of other cheaper Korean eateries around the city. Service was friendly but not as attentive with water and checking on the smoking food as would be expected. Wouldn’t recommend and won’t be going back.
Mary Vegan Poppins
Beautiful dining experience. The Basu menu is all vegan! It was all delicious, it was too much food for me to eat all I could! And for a great price. Will definitely be going back.

Amazing place to dine in with family and friends. <br/>Cheerful service. <br/>Well presented meal. <br/>My favourite is Tofu Steak. <br/>Good part is consistency in taste everytime is well maintained.

I love the food here. I have dined here around 3 times for lunch now. Twice during the week and once on the weekend.<br/>I have had berf bulgogi and the bibimbap once with spicy pork and once with beef.<br/>Overall the food is great I would give a 5 for the food quality and value unfortunately the service is not great. As well as wait times.<br/>Something that really really gets to me is when wait staff don't write down your order. There is one waitress there who have twice out of the 3 times gotten something in the order wrong. The third time she didn't write it down but immediately forgot the order so I had to ask her to please write it down.<br/>I know for a fact if she didn't write it down something would have been wrong again. And she also didn't write down another part of the order even though we asked 3 times. We then had to ask another waitress for that part of the order when it didn't arrive. It wouldn't be so bad if it only happened once but it is every time. Another issue is the wait time for food without telling us. Twice the food took very long - taking much more than an hour without letting us know. Most people who are working don't get such long lunch breaks. If the service issues and wait time is improved then I would definitely give a 5.
Lyvie
Very good! I like the food, ambience, and portions. Parking can be a bit of a hassle though.<br/>But overall great experience, and I would visit again.<br/>새우간장을 제일 맛있게 먹었습니다🌝

This place is one of the best Korean restaurant I have been to in Auckland. Excellent food and greeted by warm and friendly staff. I have visited this place for a couple of times during lunchtime and they never fail to deliver with delicious food and great service. Definitely recommended.
Jason Tan
Food was ok, nothing great. Staff were terrible! Trying to provide a high end Korean dinning experience but falls short by a long way. Food looked pretty but I cannot recommend or will be back.

Hansik is my favorite korean restaurant in Auckland!! I love their Dakgangjeong and Kimchijjim!! Definitely I will introduce the restaurant to my friends!
Sonz
Definitely a special treat to dine at this immaculate restaurant. With a warm greeting and prompt seating, the atmosphere and service is wonderful. My partner and I have had the pleasure of experiencing some great food from this restaurant. Our favourite dishes would have to be the bibimbap, the spicy seafood rice cakes and the deep fried chilli chicken. The times we have dined here we've been fortunate to be there at quieter times so I'm not sure what full house service would be like, but we were waited on wonderfully by the kind staff who didn't mind our attempts at using what little Korean we know. <br/><br/>Staff and service: 5/5<br/>Atmosphere: 5/5 warm, romantic lighting and decor.<br/>Food: 5/5<br/>Price: $170-$200 on average for two people. A little pricey but worth it.
Benjamin Daisuke Hirata
Great korean restaurant in Auckland. I think this is the best place for Korean lunch. It's reasonable and good portion for lunch. Should try spicy seafood kimuchi soup. Very rich taste. Comes with rice and small plates with some veges. Spicy chicken is also nice.
Justin Zhang
Absolutely best Korean dining experience in city. Delicious food, friendly staff and very good ambience. Good for group too as you can try more dishes!
Karen
Nice place and good food. <br/><br/>We ordered the Hansik Table set menu ($39pp) and was pleased with the portion size of the meal. We had four people and there were so many courses I could barely keep up (everything arrived together) and everything was quite good. My favourites were the grilled pork, beef stew and glass noodles. My least favourites were the spicy squid (was quite sweet and oddly fragrant) and chicken salad (nothing special but not bad). I was so full by the end that when the waitress came to clear our table and ask if we were ready for dessert I said no thanks, and she reminded me that it was part of the set menu! The date pudding turned out to be really good and I'm glad I didn't ultimately turn it down. <br/><br/>The service was pretty good as there were not many people on a Monday night. Food came fast too.
Iluvdarkchoc
Nice food with big portion. We order the Hansik Noble Table set, taste great and service is good too. The set is $49 pp, will come back! We packed some food away home.
Simon Pheonix
Great quality korean food! Ramen noodles with deep fried chicken is amazing!<br/>Great service, clean, and tasty food! Definitely worth a visit!
The One With A Nut Allergy...
I ordered the Chicken Bulgogi set and it was a generous quantity for the price. I was happy to receive a diverse range of side dishes which they were generous with as well in terms of portions--the lady could tell I enjoyed my japchae! It made me feel even better to know my allergy was catered for as the waitress came back from the kitchen a couple times to check whether I could have certain bean based ingredients that could potentially be related to nuts. <br/>Friendly service, and good range of options.
Hungus Girl
Recently went here again and the food is still of top notch quality! Sashimi is fresh and the service is amazing. Chef and owner alex is amazing! He cooks the best kimchi stew in comparison to many kimchi stews ive had here in nz and recently in Korea, which is generous with ingredients!<br/>Desert is made freshly by a pastry chef. You have to try their walnut tart...omg yummm! They've also been voted top of 50 restaurant in metro restaurant of the year! Def worth to Check out!:)<br/><br/>Def my fav korean restaurant in auck city. Its quite reknown fine dining korean, so was lucky my friend introduced me to this restaurant. Interior was beautiful very modern and mostly wooden interior.<br/><br/>Upon entering we were warmly greeted and staff were super friendly and seated us graciously. We wasnt that hungry so we just ordered a sashimi seaweed salad with a bottle of red wine. Red wine was really good especially for a merlot. Sashimi salad was super delicious. The best ive had in my life lol fish was fresh and spicy dressing mixed thoroughly in the fish and seaweed was beautiful. Definitely recommended. Going to come back here to try out their mains or set menu.

Friendly staff and atmosphere but during winter they need to turn the heater up. Nice chicken meals, tried the Hot Pot which was well made. Not a fan of Korean meals but the meal was quite tasty.
Michael Hung
Have been visiting this restaurant on a monthly basis, love their spacious seating and atmosphere! The food reflects the high standards of their kitchen, the staff are very well mannered and helpful. Highly recommended if you want a classy dining experience in. Korean restaurant:)
Poppingcandy
good soft tofu soup they recommended to me. much better than I thought it would be. sashimi was okay but did not meet the standard for me to some extent. walnut tart looks better than it tastes. but probably I am not a soft nut tart person. it was too sweet and soft for me. the pork hock was good.
Lia Yosaatmadja
Hanshik serves traditional korean cuisine with a twist. We went there for diner the other day, and the first thing we noticed was the place. I love the decor and the feel of the place. It's beautiful! <br/><br/>We ordered some pancakes and fried chicken for entré and they were delicious! We also ordered a cocktail to share.. it was strong! But good. <br/><br/>For main we ordered the braised pork bely which is a fusion version of bosam. It was tasty, but I think I still prefer the traditional bosam. The spicy chicken with korean rice cake was really nice though. I was just sad that we didn't get the side dishes you normally get in a korean restaurant. <br/><br/>The service was not bad, the food didn't take too long go arrive, and the wait staffs are friendly and lovely. <br/><br/>The cost however, it is probably the most expensive korean restaurant ive been to. <br/>But the foods are lovely! So im definitely going back again!
N Song
We had the set menu which came with appetisers, pumpkin soup, a table with so much food we couldn't finish and dessert. The service is great, the ladies are super attentive (filled our water 10+ times). The food is great and atmosphere is fantastic and quiet. One of the best korean restaurants in town. Price may seem expensive but it is worth it for the quantity and quality
Ivie
Very nice interior, mix between western and asian. They definitely kept the korean vibe . Service is amazing ^^. Went to go get the jug of water to fill water, waiter told me to sit and just call them friend got up to fill up her cup he told her the same thing Food is good definitely try the ddeokboki >_<
Breadzania
We ordered the land menu which comes with <br/>Pumpkin porridge<br/>Beef mince ball<br/>Sashimi<br/>Fritters<br/>Pork belly <br/>Bimbimbap with pork<br/>Dessert<br/>This is priced at 49pp. I thought the food was reasonable. Quite a lot of food for that price. And overall quite satisfying. <br/>The sashimi was fresh. The pork belly should be soft and melt in your mouth but it was bit tough. The dessert was too sweet with canned pineapples. The bimbimbap with pork was the best. Reason for rating this 3.5 was because at their pricing, their food should have less flaws. <br/><br/>Overall a great place to take your dates and try something different.
Banessa Marie Tañag Mojica
I celebrated my birthday here with my bf and the Food was amazing! Nice ambience :) I love how they have different course of menu. Fantastic!
James Lee
Went there for lunch with my friends. <br/><br/>Overall, the food was good. <br/>My Bulgogi set was nice. The service was friendly. <br/><br/>I found the rice was quite small and I ordered one extra (small) bowl of rice. <br/>When the bill came, that extra (small) bowl of rice costed $3.  <br/>That was a very expensive bowl of rice. <br/><br/>Overall, everything was good but I won't come back anymore. I would need two small bowls of rice for lunch and $3 for the second bowl is a deal breaker.
Jihye Kang
This is a re-review of Hansik as I have recently visited the place again.<br/><br/>* Last time, I had one of the course meals here and I thoroughly enjoyed it, resulting in 5.0 Rating.<br/>* This time, two people ordered a traditional main dish (Kimchi stew) and a western main dish (Duck breast)* The kimchi stew was wonderful but duck breast was overcooked and tough.<br/>* Also, kimchi stew was alone enough for two people and I wish they had adviced us on the portion beforehand.<br/><br/>Still rating 4 as I believe their course menu is still good. However Western main dishes could definitely be better, and staff should advice guests on the portion and not let them order excessive food.
Jay
Great food, great menu, great service, great atmosphere, great location. There's always something new to try from the menu, and I love their table set or course menu. Their menu has dishes that you can't easily find at other Korean restaurants in Auckland. Their friends rare friendly and will make sure you are looked after well consistently every time you visit them.

Nice Korean food in the Auckland city center. Had lunch with friends and ordered ramen with spicy pork. Nice and hot. Food is okay. Service is fast and efficient. Nice waitress.

Delicious Korean food & very good customer service! Good recommendation from my friend! We called and booked a table for Christmas lunch, the kids also likes the food there.

Came here for dinner. Staffs were friendly and fast service. Gave complimentary edamame, renkon chips and prawn crackers. We were going to order the "Sun" degustation of 9 courses, but ended up going for the Royal Table instead with 12 dishes all coming out at once. $69 pp. Very filling and tasty. Complimentary desserts in the end. Will come back and do the degustation next time.

Lunch. <br/>Fried dumplings with sauce were awesome. Crab croquettes were bland. Fries were soggy and cold. Spring rolls were great. Chicken sizzler and rice was good.<br/>Service was bad. Ordered a lemonade that never came and then asked for more water that didn't come. Had to get up and get my own. No table check either. <br/>Go for the food it's worth it. And it's cheap too!!

We've been to this place many times. Every time we come here they never failed to provide the best food and excellent service. Especially the manager - Jay.

We enjoy the food and service in Hansik last night🤓! Though the location is hard to find😵<br/>We ordered soft tofu soup, sashimi, beef carpaccio ,Hot stone rice and manju for dessert! The dinning environment is similar to some Korean bar, but the dishes taste better~ I have to say their soup is the best! Price is valuable, staff here are kind and helpful❤️<br/>Best place for hanging out!

had a $59 meal last night, good service, dishes are very nice. but you should spend 2 hours to wait for the whole process to finished. environment is good, suitable to date girls

Visited this fusion Korean restaurant twice in a same day.<br/><br/>Grabbed one grilled eel set menu for $ 25.00 as my lunch. Reasonable price and good taste. But one of side dishes, the Kimchi was not tasty, even a little bit strange taste. Properly, the reason was made by the recipe of it. Music was pretty nice. Staff were friendly. <br/><br/>Grabbed one Kimchi soup for $ 18.00 as my dinner. Very big portion size and  fresh raw materials. But to me, I prefer more sour and spicy kimchi soup. The free entree with 3 kinds of chips was excellent!

Fresh, vibrant quality of the food are very pleasing, first time here at lunch. Really enjoyed it, all side dishes that came along i tasted freshness in every one of them.

Amazing! Ordered a Sky course for me and my friend for $39 each. It was definitely worth it! <br/>If you want a range of korean food in reasonable portions, I highly recommend it! The service was great also. The place is beautiful, there really is nothing to complain about.<br/>The dessert served didnt match me and my friends tastebuds but thats personal preference.<br/><br/>Definitely will come here again.
Christian
Great Fusion Korean restaurant. Dishes were nicely presented and ingredients were fresh. We went for the 69pp set menu which includes more than 10 dishes each. They were lovely however I think the number of dishes could be reduced with an increased size of main dishes. The restaurant is located in a lovely brick building but the giant room does feel a bit cold and lack of intimacy. Very friendly staff and good, efficient service.

Wow what a find. Excellent decor, super friendly staff, amazing food both in taste and presentation.<br/><br/>Wish we had taken photos of the food but we were having a no device meal! Presentation was beautiful.<br/><br/>We ordered the set menu "Sky" for $39 per person and chose Sake to drink (along with an ice cold Asahi to start). Given the quality and quantity of food, this place is amazing value for money.<br/><br/>The Salmon Salad was amazing, the Salmon had a tiny sear so was close to sashimi and was obviously of a very high quality. Layered in a salad with greens, chinese cabbage, red onion and a gorgeous sesame dressing (can I lick my bowl?) this salad was brilliant, I could have eaten just this and been very happy.<br/><br/>The next dish, Royal stir-fried rice cake was excellent. The rice cakes were like beautiful little chewy dumplings in a beef and mushroom [almost] casserole type dish. The mushrooms were firm and silky and full of flavour.<br/><br/>The deep fried chilli chicken was amazing, crispy chicken chucks with a chilli zing offset by the touch of creamy mayo. Be careful tho, there is a lot of this dish and we filled up on it not knowing what was coming....<br/><br/>What came next was a full meal in itself it seems....we were running out of space by this time (perhaps skip lunch next time), Bulgogi<br/> , Bibimbap<br/> and Soybean paste soup. The Bulgogi was in a hot dish cooking away and was amazing, fantastic flavours. The Bibimbap not like you would have had in your average Korean restaurant, the waitress suggested we might the Bulgogi and Bibimbap which was great advice especially with the chilli sauce added.<br/><br/>Dessert was a date "slice" which was sublime, I only wish I could have finished it.<br/><br/>Not a bowl of Kimchi anywhere in sight. This is not your ordinary Korean restaurant, not a food court variety, this is a chef with some skills putting his or her take on modern Korean food.<br/><br/>Only downside, couldn't finish all the beautiful food. You won't leave hungry.<br/><br/>Seriously recommended and WE WILL BE BACK, so much more to try here.

After hearing really good things about Hansik, a friend and I decided to try it. Although it wasn't super traditional, it was very delicious. We got the Land set and were both so satisfied and full afterwards. The staff were all friendly and nice and the place atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxing as well. If you want to dine a little differently I would definitely recommend trying Hansik

We had a really good night at Hansik. We booked VIP room and discussed with the manager Jay about what we wanted to have for the special dinner. They have a really good service and even make a special menu for us on our special day. All of our friends who were invited had a comment about the food. The quality of the food was really awesome and the quantity was really enough. We do feel sorry about not having all for that night cos we were so full. Highly recommend Royal rice cake with meat (Can't remember the correct name) and grilled beef.

High class Korean restaurant. Cool sophisticated decor, genuine and delicious menu. And excellent value for money. Stone bebinbap is my particular favorite. <br/>

When most people think of Asian food, the words cheap, filling and delicious probably come to mind. Asian food for me is noisy, no frills and more often than not leaves me feeling emotionally abused from the terrible service. So when I saw the menu for Hansik, I hesitated in going because its a little on the pricey side. And I'm poor. So poor. <br/><br/>Anyway I digress. When we visited Hansik, the first thing that you see is the restaurant store front. ITS SO CUTE. No greasy laminated menus here! Expectations were up. Inside is very nice as well. Its fancy enough to take someone out there on a date but not so fancy that you can't go out in jeans and a t-shirt.<br/><br/>Service was excellent! The waitresses and waiters were chatty and very personable but not in a pushy way. My boyfriend and I ordered the deep fried chilli chicken ($25) for  for the starter to share and that was wonderful. Crispy and spicy and not the slightest bit greasy. It came with a delicious mayonnaise which paired excellently with the spicy chicken. We also ordered the braised pork belly ($25) and that was sooo good. Super savoury and cooked till melt in your mouth tender. And it was plated so beautifully!  At first, portions looked quite small but when you start eating it, you realise there's actually quite a bit. We were pretty full by the end of our meal.<br/><br/>We also ordered rice on the side to share but unfortunately they had sold out, so the very apologetic waiter gave us complimentary sides! That was a nice little bonus : )<br/><br/>I would definitely come back again, but maybe more for a special occasion type thing rather than your local.  I can definitely see why the price is more expensive than most Asian places, its going for a more up class vibe.<br/><br/>Overall, I loved it! Would have given it a 5 star review if the price point was a little lower but that's me being nitpicky.

During work hours I often ruminate on the variety of Korean restaurants in Auckland. Hansik was one of the restaurants on my list, as I had yet to dine there and a variety of friends had recommended that it was a must-explore. <br/><br/>So it was with pleasure that a lovely couple invited me and my partner out to Hansik for dinner.<br/><br/>Having studied their peculiar menu during my coffee breaks, what stood out to me was that the menu items were unique, unlike other Korean joints in Auckland. <br/><br/>Their menu had meat dishes that were 'stone grilled' and menu items specifically catered to large groups.<br/><br/>We ordered the Seafood Ddeokbokki with cheese, Stone Grilled Squid, Beef Ribs, 'Stone Grilled' Bulgogi and Korean Fried Chicken.<br/><br/>Our squid came out, pepper red and we were all engulfed by its delicious aroma which had me licking my lips. The squid tasted fresh and the combination of squid with rice makes a devastating combo for empty stomachs.<br/><br/>The beef ribs looked incredibly tantalising and dissolves in your mouth. This resulted in the complete desolation of all beef ribs by our table.<br/><br/>So consumed were we in our battle with our giant mains, we had completely forgotten our Korean Fried chicken order. We were shocked at how much chicken came out, however our group, never being one to say no to a challenge, gathered our stomaches and began battle with our new platter. <br/><br/>Tasting the fried chicken, I could confirm that the fried chicken was freshly fried and the sauce had kick and flavour without being inundating.<br/><br/>The stone grilled Bulgogi was nice, however it wasn't the best I've had. My table also really enjoyed the cheese doubuki; we all agreed the texture and taste was a good combination.<br/><br/>Having over-ordered for our table, I can confidently say that this is my new favourite Korean restaurant! <br/><br/>Showstopper: Beef Ribs, Korean Fried Chicken and Spicy squid.<br/><br/>Overall Grade: A+<br/><br/><br/>Lunch Experience:<br/><br/>I enjoyed my experience at Hansik so much that I came back here for lunch a few days later. We ordered the Bulgolgi and beef rib set and a Korean ramen.<br/><br/>Surprise, surprise this place never ceases to amaze me, the bouillon used in the ramen was fantastic and gave the ramen a unique taste.<br/><br/>Occupied with my Ramen, I was unable to taste the Bulgolgi and Beef rib sets, but my colleagues all devoured their meals in rapid time and had commented on the flavoursome meals they had.<br/><br/>Lunch Menu Rating:<br/><br/>Showstopper: For me the Ramen was fab and coming with a side of Korean Fried chicken, this is an awesome lunch combo.<br/><br/>Overall Grade : A, Nothing to do with the taste or ambience. The pricing here is a little hefty for lunch.

Beautiful and spacious restaurant, i am quite surprised that it's never busy. Lunch sets are presented nicely with different variety of side dishes. Price is reasonable for the portion of food served. We also enjoy the renkon chips, they are served hot and crispy with a hint of saltiness. Yum!
Alexine
So yummy ! You get so much food for ur $$ .. Had a Bday dinner there on Saturday night and they set us up outside in a romantically lit tent 😊. Wonderful efficient service accomodating to your needs. 😊

Amazing place and the lunch pack there is exquisite. Generally not a big fan of Asian food but I changed my opinion now! The chicken was amazingly well cooked.

This was our first time. We had mixed entire platter and dumplings followed by spicy salmon and braised pork belly with rice. Dumplings were excellent and flavours interesting. Sake was a good match for the food. Service informal and friendly. Would come again.

I'm so gutted with my experience here at Hansik. After eyeing it up for so long, I finally made my way here for dinner last week with high expectations. The restaurant was full when we arrived but mind you it's not what I'd call a large restaurant, and we were advised that food would take about 40 mins to come out so taking that into consideration, my dining companion and I decided to opt for mains rather than the set course menu as it would have probably taken too long. <br/><br/>To start, we had the Soft Shell Crab which was really good with a substantial amount of crab to batter ratio. The sesame sauce complemented the crab surprisingly well and it would have been nice if there was more of it. True to her word, this small entree did take around 40 mins. Another 30 mins later, my dining companion's main arrived and by this time, I was on the verge of hangry. The Braised Pork Belly consisted of six bite sized pieces of pork, a leaf of asian greens, and kimchi.  I don't mind waiting for food but if I'm paying premium for it, I expect it to be at least something special or at least have some service such as getting water glasses topped up. <br/><br/>After waiting for another 10 minutes with no sign of my dish coming out, my dining companion began to slowly eat rather reluctantly. After another 20 mins, I finally enquired where my dish was at, and the waitresses appeared to have gotten it mixed up and told me it would be coming soon. By this time, I couldn't be bothered waiting any longer and politely decided to cancel the order. The waitresses were really nice and apologetic and it would have been rude to take it out on them (having had experience as a waitress before). <br/><br/>Considering the fact that their prices are premium for Korean food with small serving sizes, and the fact that there are so many cheap Korean restaurants around Auckland, I didn't find this place worth going to at all and felt bitterly disappointed at having our time and money spent here. I suggest that they cut down their menu to accomodate their set menu selection, or hire more kitchen staff.

Really love this space. Must be one of best korean restaurants in nz. Staffs are all friendly foods were great. Will definitely come back. Merry christmas.

My wife & I were invited to a dinner at Hansik (Korean Eatery).  A good choice of drinks was available & we chose Korean drinks to go with our dinner. For entrées, we had a platter of 9 delicacies, deep-fried soft shell crab with sesami, deep-fried chilli chicken & deep-fried veggie dumplings. Side dishes were to be ordered & charged separately. There are pros & cons to this – more pros to Hansik & more cons to the customers.  Then we had soft tofu spicy soup with seafood, grilled smoked duck breast & bulgogi (marinated beef).  For desserts, we had carrot cake & rusk bread with ice-cream.<br/><br/>It was a lovely dinner which I wouldn't like to "pick bones from an egg."  My favourite dish was tofu soup.  As Hansik stresses to provide "pleasurable experience of traditional Korea in modern realms."  I absolutely agree.  I‘ll definitely return to try its raw beef Carpaccio, spicy seafood rice cake & bingsu (ice flake with red bean) or even its set dinner.  (Food - 4.5/5; Service - 4.5/5; Ambience - 4/5)

I love Korean food. So when a friend suggested this place, I was game. It is billed as upmarket Korean which is an excuse to charge more and they certainly did. However the pork belly we had was sublime. Worth a try!

Went to Hansik today with a friend. The wait staff were punctual, polite and helpful. We ordered the Eel teriyaki set and the Free range chicken teriyaki set. Our meals arrived within 10 minutes in the form of two delightfully balanced spreads consisting of various vegetable selections including tempura, puréed and pickled vegetables, all of which were delicious and light, an accompaniment of rice and crisped onions, subtly spiced, miso soup, our respective mains of teriyaki chicken and eel rounded off by a dessert of plum juice and plum gelatine. The restaurant had a cosy and highly authentic ambience fuelled by traditional Korean music, albeit quite loud. The wait staff were engaging in talking us through our courses piece by piece and attentive in assuring our comfort and enjoyment at all times throughout our dining experience. My personal favourite was the selection of pickled vegetables and the only part of the meal I didn't wholly enjoy was the plum gelatine which I found to be overly sweet and lacking texturally. The portion sizes were perfect for a well rounded meal which left my friend and I feeling light yet satisfied. Overall the experience was highly enjoyable but could have been aided by quieter music and more light inside.

Let me just start by saying how beautiful the interior of this restaurant was. It was set up really nicely and we were greeted warmly.<br/><br/>We decided to spoil ourselves today and got the "sun" set menu of $69 per person which came with a few selections of appetisers, a couple of mains and a dessert. The service was excellent, though the waitress did have a really thick accent which made it a bit hard to understand sometimes.<br/><br/>Our food were delivered quickly and each one was explained to us. My favourite was the salmon with the blue cheese sauce. That was really good. All the dishes were beautifully presented too. Was a bit disappointed with the main though. Not enough meat and the bimbibap was average. My partner loved the raw scampi in the sashimi platter. I didn't mind it but it was too creamy for me. Dessert was also average. A bit too rich for my liking.<br/><br/>Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Something different and a bit posh. Would we come back? Probably not. Unfortunately the price did not match the food.

Hands down my new favourite korean restaurant in Auckland. Nicely situated in Victoria park, Hansik is hidden near towards the back; you cant miss the red sign. Upon entering, we could tell we were in for a real treat as the interior was stunning and 3 friendly waitresses were waiting at the door way with enthusiastic greetings; I felt like royalty! haha<br/><br/>After being sitted, we were given menus and got told that the dishes with stars next to them were the chef's specials which was extremely handy as the amount of options were overwhelming. In the end between the three of us, we ordered the soft shell crab, small tuna sashimi, grilled salmon, braised pork belly & kimchi, stone grilled beef ( cooked at your table) and the fried cgarlic spicy chicken ( yes we eat alot). The sashimi dish came out around 10 minutes after ordering alongside with the crab, and omg...both were stunningly presented on ceramic plates. kk lets beginnnnn <br/><br/>Tuna sashimi: 9/10 , a small plate of this came with 6 thick slices of tuna alongside with some wasabi and pickles. I LOVED THISS! I know that many people think sashimi's the same everywhere you go, but this sashimi was the real deal; just so fresh D: great start to the meal,<br/><br/>Soft shell crab 7/10: served with a generous portion of black sesame mousse, the crab was crispy and cooked to perfection ( not too oily too) however I think the presentation got my expectations too high as the dish did lack some flavour compared to many soft shell crabs i'd eaten in my days ( ebisu is the best btw for this haha) BUT still delicious none the less<br/><br/>MAINS!! Stone grilled beef: 10/10  yumyumYUM, a plate of around 10 pieces of sliced beef fillets with sides of raw brocolli, mushrooms and greens as well as three dipping sauces, this was such a fun dish to eat as you could cook it on the stone bowl at your table; really avoids the problem of having to send back an overdone steak :P the beef cuts were EXTREMELY tender and just overall delicious when dipped in the sauced, defs reccomend this!<br/><br/>Braised pork ribs & Kimchi: 7/10, if you love kimchi, you'll love this one. Served in a slightly spicy broth, I think it came with 7 huge pork ribs and a generous amount of kimchi. An extremely heartwarming dish to eat on a cold night; throughly enjoyable :)<br/><br/>Grilled salmon: 111111/10, MY favourite dish of the night holyy, although it didnt have a star next to it, this would be the dish I'd reccomend if you're a salmon lover like me. Coated in sesame seeds and served with a crispy skin and pumpkin purree, heaven on a plate. DEFS RECCOMEND<br/><br/>Spicy fried chicken: 10/10, this came so close to being my fav of the night but I was too full to enjoy it at optimal levels haha. BUT easily one of my top ten dishes in auckland; the crispy batter coating the chicken matched with the sticky sweet& spicy sauce, ugghhh so good! please try this :)<br/><br/>DESSERT!! Bingsu! ($15), This was served in a huge bowl with condensed milk, red bean, green tea ice cream and some fruits ( kiwifruits and canned fruits), a nice way to end the night but defs something you have to share between at least 2-3 people. 7/10<br/><br/>Overall Hansik was a beautiful experience, food was seriously outstanding PLUS the service was top notch! loved the atmosphere too and would highly reccomend it for a date, although the total bill did come up to around $170, I'd definitely come back!!<br/><br/>Dishes of the night: Fried chicken & grilled salmon

Great new Korean restaurant, great atmosphere and staff were very friendly but some spoke very little English. The menu was a nice mix of Korean and Japanese options. We all ordered the Bibimbap (sizzling hot pot) after seeing a photo of it. The beef and chicken were both very delicious, the spicy sauce could have been more spicy. Would like to try the set menu next time, the table next to us looked like they had some delicious options.

Food and service here is great! Staff are very friendly and welcome. The quality and intense authentic flavours made the meal very enjoyable. The beef stone pot was nice as there was a generous amount of beef. Definitely looking forward to come here again!

Wow, had the set menu and everything was amazing. Great value, great service and I got to experience some new korean food by having the set menu. The Hansik ice tea was a delicious cocktail and I can't wait to go back there.

I have found myself my new favourite restaurant! All the dishes were super delicious and I couldn't fault any of them. Large portions for reasonable prices! But what made it extra special was the great service we received. Thank you Hansik! Will be back very very soon :-)

My fav new korean restaurant. First walk in the ambience is very nice. The staff are welcoming, attentive and polite. Parking can be a mission. Their food is on the higher price compare to some korean restaurant, but you get what you paid for. But don't be fooled as the following left 3 adults full. Their takoyaki was perfect, crispy on the outside and not soggy. Same that goes for their deep fried chilly chicken, crispy and juicy. Their squid was perfect, not rubbery at all and generous serving. The grilled pork scotch was delicious and our fav of the menu, cooked perfectly. Their traditional soyabean & kelp soup was however a miss for us - average. Their dessert was delicious - perfect combo of chewy brownie and green tea ice cream. I will be back. I highly recommend this place.<br/><br/>Ambiance 4.5/5<br/>Food 4.5/5<br/>Service 4.5/5<br/>

Found this place off the cuff and was really impressed with the lunch menu, I had spicy pork & my friend had the spicy tofu soup with multi seafood, both was delish, I actually wished I'd had hers, the broth was so full of seafood and flavour, not to diminish from the pork which was as yummy it there was something more special in the soup. Only thing disappointing was the wine, was a little dribble 100mls poss for $8.50

Really excellent food. <br/>We had the moon set menu $59 per person. <br/>Interesting, fresh and the food just kept coming. <br/>We will be back for sure. <br/>If you enjoy Korean food this is a flashed up version of. Highly recommend!<br/>

Really impressed with this new restuarant. We came here after we seen friends had been on facebook and the food looked delish. The staff were lovely and very attentive. We asked to change tables when we first arrived as we were seat by the fridge and it was so bright compared to the rest of the restuarant. This was no problem & they seated us in the cool and quirky little room at the back that is sectioned off with some curtains so its like your own little restuarant with your own personal waitress! We ordered some Traditinal tapas which were yummy and light! The chicken Bibimbop was delicious with the egg on top, I loved the way the rice carmelised from the heat of the stone hotpot. The fritters were nice too, but not the star of the show. We also had some raw beef carpaccio which was good and fresh. The tofu salad was ok too, but Im not a big fan of tofu in general. The winner was definately the deep fried chilli chicken- it was to die for! we order two portion and there was heaps. too much for 3 people, so we took it home with us! All in all, thoroughly impressed with Hansik. Will def be returning.

We came here after a few friends recommended it and from the photos I saw I had to come!<br/><br/>The waitresses and manager were very attentive and helpful with our ordering queries. <br/><br/>We ordered 2 extra dishes before all of our dishes came because we thought the portions were quite small. Do not let the plating fool you. We were very full and could not finish our meal. <br/><br/>It was a nice fusion twist on the korean good through display and slight flavour changes. <br/><br/>I would recommend the soft tofu soup. It was packed with seafood!
Paul Baik
Probably one of the best places to try Korean food with a modern twist. Ordered the "Gon" set for dinner and I was really impressed with the diversity, quality and presentation of the food. I'd really recommend getting the chicken for your meat option though, I tried the pork as well but it was nothing compared to that delicious spicy marinade the chicken had. The only thing that was lackluster was the bibimbap (which was a tad too oily than what I expected) and the dessert (It was a chocolate mud cake/brownie, which was nice but I was expecting a more Korean dish)<br/><br/>The service was really good, with the waitress explaining details on the 4 different sets, making sure we were topped up on water and asking how the meal was. The manager was very friendly and quick to come and explain some things the waitress was having difficulty with.<br/><br/>There's a review below that also mentions it but it was kinda disappointing there wasn't any traditional Korean music for a place that's beautifully decorated with traditional instruments, paintings and pottery.<br/><br/>All in all, it was a wonderful experience with nothing that was outstandingly lacking. I'd definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner that's a bit different than what's usually available in Auckland.

The perfect dining experience: friendly and attentive staff, lovely surroundings and ambience and magnificent FOOD. The flavours were fresh and clean and the menu has a great variety of options - something for everyone.<br/>One quirky detail we loved was a call button on each table - just like being on an aeroplane!<br/>Hansik is a versatile venue too - equally good for after work drinks as it is for a family meal.<br/>Can't wait to go back and will be spreading the word.

This is one of my new favourite lunch venues during the week.<br/><br/>The stone pot (bibimbap) is gorgeous, served with your choice of meat and a selection of very well complemented vegetables.  I loved how the rice went a little sticky and caramelised on the bottom of the heated stone pot.   The service was very friendly, efficient and professional which was great compared with other Korean restaurants I've been to.<br/><br/>At $18 for a lunch meal, it's a little on the expensive side to spend on lunch everyday, but definitely my prefered choice compared to similar priced dishes in the area.
FS
Friendly services and good foods. I had stir fry noodles it come with miso soup and 3 kind of side dishes including kimchi. Taste good and price's ok.

Lovely new restaurant, gorgeous ambience and interior. Open late which is fantastic! Food was delicious.. We had the dumplings & garlic/chilli chicken (to die for). Service was great, very friendly. Can't wait to go back soon and try more of the menu! Thank you :)

Was enticed by lunch special, beef on rice, went with a group from work, service was of a high standard considering the special price on the lunch meals, serving size was genorous, decor was very good, all of us enjoyed our meals will be looking at making this a regular.

Awesome food and great customer service. I guess Korean fine dining restaurant has finally come to Auckland. What more do you want?

This newly opened restaurant located across Victoria Park is by far the best Korean Restaurant in Auckland. The ambiance is perfect and space is crafted with Korean antique furniture which makes you sort of feel the real korean dining experience. Food was really great! We had 5 course  degustation menu which was accompanied by a plum wine, what an excellent combination! Customer service was good as well, the hostess came with well presented food and explained how to mix and match the different components of the dish.Really had a great time dining here. Highly Recommended! :)

Definitely an improvement on the previous restaurant in this space :-) It's great to have some Korean selection, now that Indian, Indonesian and Japanese are covered at Vic Park Market. My lunch chicken came on a sizzling hot plate with side accompaniments, all very tasty and I couldn't fault anything. Service friendly, but since this is a new restaurant it was still on the empty side, and the only thing I recommended to the manageress was to replace the Boy George playlist with something more authentic.... how about a Korean restaurant that actually plays Korean music?
