Review Saattveek - Auckland Central

Jim Chuang
Very tasty vegetarian snacks. Skip the night markets and you can get much better quality food here with reasonable prices.
Ghanshyam Bhatt
It's a cozy vegeterian restaurant that has amazing Mumbai street food options. The Pav Bhaji was delicious. It has Gujarati and Maharashtrian items on the menu and very authentic. We also found a lot of Jain options here. The owner was really sweet and she made sure we got to eat the food we love. I would recommend everyone looking for authentic Mumbai style food with a lot of Jain options to definitely visit this place. Thank you, Saattveek for the delicious food and the great hospitality!

Very good authentic Maharashtrian food. Reasonable prices. Good service. Ambience is average but definitely visit for the food.
Rangaprabhu Parthasarathy
Good food. A little on the spicier side belying the name of the place but tasty and nice.
Mark Craig
Really lovely hostess who brought us a great selection for the menu without us needing to choose. Quick good service and tasty food. Great vegan and vegetarian food. The only thing is it would be better with less use of oils, S some of I think it quite greasy. Definitely try it in Sandringham.
Taejas Srinivasan
Truly amazing vegetarian food. As visitors from the US, we had been longing home cooked Indian food and this really hit the spot. Despite being short staffed today, Varsha made us feel at home and made so much food for our family. Would definitely recommend this to anyone, especially for those who want to taste true, authentic, home cooked Indian food

We had never had Bombay style food before and only recognized a few items on the menu, but the owner was lovely and gave great recommendations. Delicious vegetarian food & cardamom mango lasso.
AMRITA PANDIT
Delicious Bombay/pune style food served at a hygienic, simple & decent restaurant in Sandringham. I would surely recommend this place to my friends and relatives in Auckland. Food: fresh & delicious Service: quick Ambiance: simple & sweet Hygiene : clean & tidy Overall : 8/10

The lady who runs this place is so friendly and kind. She's very helpful at giving recommendations of new things to try - always providing a delicious meal. The prices are very reasonable. As a vegetarian it is great to finally have no restrictions on the menu - and it's all been yummy every time.
Charlie Baylis
Super delicious vegetarian and vegan food. Their "tapas" are wonderful and fun to share. The staff are very helpful if you don't know what to order. This is one of my favourite cheap and cheerful places to eat.

It’s difficult to find Maharashtrian cuisine in a land outside India. This restaurant offers Maharashtrian delicacies. The taste is really nice. The owner is very friendly. All in all a good restaurant especially for Marathi people in NZ.

An amazing treat for the senses. Friendly owner and staff who are passionate about their authentic dishes. They gave us fantastic advice (they have heaps of vegan or are easily able to accommodate for allergies such as nuts). I could not believe the price so even worth a drive for sure! I would recommend everyone to go there. If you are going with friends it is an amazing place to share appetisers that work magic for the body and soul!

Really delicious mix of foods! Highly recommend. We were unsure of what to have but ended up being given a wide platter of foods recommended by the chef - really superb experience.

Been a couple of months since we have been here but we love going here regularly and just love the food here.. taste, portions and service are all homely and they have some great variety.. if you are looking for authentic Maharashtrian food, take a pick from the misal, zunka or thalipeeth.. pav bhaaji is also great. This is just a selection. They have a wide variety including some unique ice cream flavours.. need to go back again soon

I believe it is the only place in Auckland that serves authentic Maharahtrian food. The food was really tasty. I would say,"Mom k haath ka khana." The owner and staff are very friendly and it made me feel at home. A must try.

Amazing Maharashtrian food with warm service. Felt like eating at home. Special thanks to Mrs Belwalkar(owner) as she was happy to assist at all time. Aluvadi & kolhapuri misal is worth trying. We will be back again and again. It was worth the wait. Khupachh Chaan....

What a fantastic find this was, super friendly service and fresh, tasty and uplifting food. The first time I have ever been confused by an Indian menu so left choices up to the owner and what a feast was had. Will definitely be back!
Ram Iyer
Really good food which satisfied our tummies and gave us plenty of choices. Liked the real Indian hot and spicy Kolapuri Misal and the mouth watering Sev Puri. Well done Prashant and Varsha - Please continue to maintain this through out and all the best

This place is terrific. Tried Maharastran food for the first time today. The dishes are fresh, light, aromatic and perfectly seasoned. I loved it. Lovely service and also great prices! I can't speak highly enough about it. We were extra happy vegetarians today

The best restaurant I've been to in Auckland. Service as good as the food, which is nothing short of stunning. Excellent value too. Get there.

I'm here almost every weekend.. friendly host and the food gets more declicious each time I taste.. true taste of mumbai street food with a touch of home cooking.

Delicious, authentic, fresh food. Totally different to most Indian restaurants in Western countries. The service was amazing as well.

Just been to the restaurant today on 19/01/2019 around 8 pm and had the worst food of my life and the experience.

Ordered puri bhaji and Bhel. Bhel was very very very tasteless and I think I could make way better than this even without having zero knowledge about food making process. I specifically told them not to put any coriander in the food because I don’t like it at all and I feel like puking if I taste coriander. They still brought the puri bhaaji with coriander and when I told them I don’t want as I already told not to put, they just simply took it to the kitchen and removed it from the top and gave me the same item. I could still smell and there was some leaves of coriander in it. Still it was way taste less and almost my $13 went into drain to be honest.

The owner or manager who was on the counter asked me finally when I was finishing my food and was about to go that “is this all you wanted ?” So what u wanted me to order every single item on the menu so I could let my more money go into the drain. Wow NEVER NEVER GOING TO SUGGEST TO ANYONE. NOT EVEN MY ENYMis....

Went with a friend, Ordered pavbhaji & panipuri. Taste of bhaji was awesome. Didn't like the bun though. It was very hard, probably stale. Pani puri was also not good in taste.
Lady who served there was very nice. Tables were not cleaned properly.

Taste: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Ambience: 2/5
Quality: 2/5
Quantity: 4/5

When you feel like being a little adventurous and trying Indian food in Auckland. This time it was more specific maharastrian and Gujarati food. Pretty good spread on the menu to choose from and super quick service too. I think a lot of stuff is probably either prepped earlier on or frozen. I am not complaining, it was nice to satisfy the tastebuds, the food is heavy and great value for money too.
Krutarth Soparkar
One the best places for vegetarian food. Being a Maharashtrian the food is very authentic and the taste will bring back home. Having the basics of food to well known delicacies of Maharashtra.

This is perhaps the first time I'm writing a review for a vegetarian restaurant cuz I seldom order veg food or visit places that typically serve vegetarian food. But I must highlight that this isn't your ordinary Indian eatery serving run-of -the-mill Chicken Tikka masala, Rogan Josh and other such common dishes. As the name goes, Saattveek means 'Pure' and that's what you get. This is a purely vegan restaurant serving food which is specific to the vegetarian palette of the western states of Maharashtra (home to Mumbai/Bombay) and a bit of Gujarat.
I called for a Vada pav (think Indian burger with a vegetarian patty between bread) which is an all-time favorite and it didn't disappoint me. I also ordered Pav Bhaji which is basically mashed up potatoes & veggies prepared with spices, chillies and onions, served with bread. A couple few more other sweet and savory dishes were called for which are a rare find in Auckland (I didn't come across any in 2 years) unless you're invited to some family brekkie to someone's home.
The decor is plain and simple which is more like a old-school, quaint, domestic setting rather than some flashy, music blaring eateries that surround this place. Go with a friend or explore alone, you would be greeted by a friendly Indian lady who will recommend few things from the menu and that which is being prepared in her kitchen. Don't hesitate to ask her about the menu since a lot of the options listed would be unheard-of for many, but must be tried.
What struck me the most of this place is that it simply stands out from the 15-20 odd Indian restaurants that surround it on all sides and is happy in the niche that it has created for itself serving very different sort of "Indian food". I would surely visit again to try out the mains. Enjoy!

Delicious variety of flavors - amazing mix of appetizers, curries and samosas. We were unsure of what to have but our awesome hostess understood and bought us out a variety of plates. Each one was delicious and of high quality with complex tastes. We will definitely be back to try more. Excellent value too - highly recommend.

I recommend this place to all Vegetarians who love less spicy food 👍🏻 100% better than many other outlets 👍🏻. Very friendly staff 😊😊🤗🤗

Sometimes when you feel homesick you feel like going to Saattveek to find taste as close as Home but every time we find ourself a disappointed . Recently when we had been there food was stale and smelly . We left food as is and after conveying our feedback a simple sorry and a complete bill came to our way .
Priya Dalvi-Bhoge
It’s pure vegetarian. And being Maharashtrian many times I crave for Vada Pav and Misal Pav. Which can be full filled by ‘Saattveek’ only as this is the only restaurant in Auckland (as I know) who serves authentic Maharashtrian food. We went there on the recommendation of friend who is diehard fan of Misal.
You get authentic Vada pav (I tried so many Indian joints in Auckland) With that dry red chutney 😋 and Misal pav 🤤 highly recommended. Bhakari, thalipeeth also nice. Loved the food.
Anita M.
Saatveek’s food quality and service has gone down in past few months. The food and service used to be good however our last visit we found puri Bhaji had no salt or any flavour and sabudana vada was not cooked properly and still frozen in the middle. Lady at the counter has usually been friendly however we found out that she was not interested in talking to us at all. Hopefully saatveek gets better soon
Sparsh Angre
Amazing food. The restaurant is very clean. Excellent service, very friendly. I tried Mumbai Vada pav, Aloo vadi, thalipeeth etc. Must try, very nice restaurant. If you are missing home made food, then this is the perfect place to eat.
Great food and great service - we come all the way from Bucklands Beach to eat here. They are also open late and know the meaning of customer service! Highly recommended, Ashok and Pratiti

Great food - good in taste, quality ingridients, hygenic dining area and light on the stomach. The lady at the counter greets warnly and customises to dietary requirements (Vegan, Jain) upon request. I would visit again and am happy to recommend Saatveek to people.

I am newish to some of the vegetarian dishes served here and was happy to try it after a friends recommendation.
We had 4 items from the menu, Khaman dhokla, puri bhaaji, batata vada and dahi puri.
My favourites were the dhokla and puri bhaaji! I have tried many dahi puris around auckland - this one was not bad but not my favourite.
I will be back though to try more items from the menu.
Billie Frances Fee
Awesome. Go there and let the woman in charge choose for you. Tell her how hungry you are and she'll bring you tonnes of food you would never have thought to order yourself. Very reasonably priced.
Prathamesh Chavan
Amazing Indian food . The taste is amazing and would highly recommend everyone to taste the authenticity of Indian and Mumbai . Must try the Mumbai vada pav and missal pav . And special dishes on special occasions like Diwali , Ganesh chaturti

Very delicious food. Been there a few times tried thier kothambir wadis dhoklas sabudana wada. Pav bhaji and bhakri. All very tasty and well cooked items. Highly recommended.
Harsh Vardhan Shrotriya
Very friendly place to dine! Indian/Marathi home like food is a super bonus.
Went there on a day when I avoid Garlic, the owner very easily accomodate request to prepare dishes without it. This also means that they do cook fresh.
Needless to say, dishes still tasted great.
The interiors are not posh but, if its food that you are after, go there!
Manpreet Singh Bajwa

Hi folks, just wanted to make you all aware what a RIPOFF its to get a take away of pau-bhaji..the cost is $10 each and the quantity is so minimum!! ordered two plates and it was packed in one double compartment food box.. when I asked why is the quantity so less.. the reply was we don't cheat and its the same as we serve on in house dish.. this was my first experience for a takeaway & was really bad..i would rather buy from other joint where I get value for my money!!! unhappy customer
Ronakmech413
Awesome food. Tried so many things here such as puri bhaji, pani puri, paav bhaji, maharaja thaali, dabeli , vada paav and etc. Everything was delicious. If you miss homemade food then you must visit this place👍

This is one of my family's regular haunts and it's always an enjoyable experience especially since the food is nice and light. Well worth going to especially if you're vegetarian :)
Palak Ronak Pathak
Very nice food. Our favourite place for authentic Maharastrian & Gujarati food. Delicious street food with pure ingredients no artificial flavour. Food made with authentic healthy masala which goes with the name of restaurant.
Nandini Jagdeesh
We cross this outlet almost every other day but never really went in. We bought Puri bhaji the other day and it tasted okay. So tonight we thought we'd go there, the minute we went in there the lady kept asking us to take the Maharaja Thali (that's the most expensive dish there). We then ordered a Pav Bhaji and a Samosa chat. The Pav Bhaji was alright but the Samosa chat was horribly bad. It reeked of Turmeric and when we told her that she said that's how it tastes. She kept arguing that it's her best selling dish and spoke as though we were at fault for not liking it. She didn't even apologize nor attempt to replace the dish. She made us pay for the bad dish in full even though we hadn't had more than a spoonful of it. That's one outlet that I'll never visit again.

Delicious typical Indian cuisine (specially maharashtrian). I have been here several times and each time the experience has been simply great. The owner genuinely cares about her customers and suggests exactly what we want.. Nice place😊

Very good service and very tasty food! I didn't know what to order as I am not very familiar with the type of food however everything I had was delicious!! Will come back to try more dishes :D

We were looking for a vegetarian restaurant and found the perfect place in Saattveek. Good food, pleasant ambiance and affable owner :) The puris and aamrus are a must-try !! And all this for a really affordable price !

I have been searching for a great Indian restaurant in Auckland for some time. Saattveek has the best Maharashtrian food in Auckland! Had misal and Kanda bhaji on the first visit. Mind blowing!! You cant just visit once...
Sakshin
We had misal, sabudana vada, Kanda bajia and being a Mumbaikar I had to go for the batata vadas !! Just amazing food ! Loved it.. Puri sabzi was mouth watering ! Should visit this place and have food ..
Vikram160
If you want to rejuvenate your taste buds, try the Mango Mastani here. I bet, you will come back to this place to explore the other dishes too. Have a great experience.
Uddhav Khapre
Amazing Maharashtrian food served. I believe this is the only palce in auckland which serves authentic maharashtrian food. My experience with the service and the restaurant was good. Would visit more often. Recommended for foodies who love mumbai street food.
Keets R
Really glad we discovered this place. Had vada pav and pani puri. Vada pav was brilliant- spicy and yum. Pani puri was quite good too, but the potatos were cooked different to what I'm used to; could've been more spicy and the quantities could've been more for the chutneys. I'll definitely come back to try more from their very descriptive menu!
Rahul Gopinadhan
If you are crazy about Paav Bhaaji, Misal Pavs and all sorts of Maharashtrian delicacies in Auckland, Come to this place, Saattveek!!
The food is so awesome and the hospitality is par excellent,Such a Pleasant Experience it has been!!!
Zubin D'Sousa
Really good food, especially the pav bhaji and dahi puri. Will have to go back for dhokla and thali! A pretty simple set up and a homely feel to the place, prices were very reasonable. Better snacks and street food than any of the other similar places in Sandringham
Rajj
Very bland entree and in mains Gujarati kadhi was lacking flavour too.
Masala khichdi was tasting very odd as if it was made with rotten ingredients.
Kotimbir wadi was ok but not great.
Viraj_Kuvar
Good quality food with a homely atmosphere especially for those who are in search of taste of their culture and tradition.
Kothimbir wadi is just awesome and must try dish!
Food here reminds us of our loved ones who are miles away from us and so it makes this outlet a place to visit more often!!
Good Service, Great Taste!!
James
Tried this place for the first time, thus asked owner for recommendation of food. Owner pretty much ordered for us. We were served some appetizers, and chowpatty and they were fantastic. I especially liked the Dahi Puri. The marathi thali was okay. Will definitely be going back to try rest of apprtizers and chowpatty.

Customer Service: 7.5/10

Food:

Appetizer and Chowpatty: 8/10

Marathi Thali: 5/10

Atmosphere: 6.5/10

Date: February 2017

It was our second time visiting Saatveek tonight and again a delicious experience. Not knowing much about the dishes on the menu, we again entrusted the choices for the evening to the super friendly and lovely owner who did an amazing job of delivering a range of delicious vegetarian dishes for the four of us. The lassi was a great start and then we tried some Dahi Puri - a firm favourite of ours. After that, none of the dishes were ones we had tried before and they were a fantastic journey of flavours - we'd highly recommend the Alu Wadi and Bhel. We can't wait to go back again to try the Thali and as we live so close will be visiting Saatveek for takeaway options again soon.

This place is a must visit for everyone in Auckland. Delicious food. Their misal and thaali is a must have. It is simply amazing. It is one my favorite place in Auckland. Reminds you of Mumbai's Maharashtrain food. The owner is very sweet and friendly which makes the atmosphere and experience good. Cheers!!
Vibha Sekhar
Good homely Simple food, no frills place. If you are looking for good vegetarian food with a change from the routine menu, this is the place to eat. The food is very tasty, typical Maharashtrian and Gujarati cuisine. Even tried out pav bhaji which was good. There is not much to talk about ambience though. Space is also limited so better to book a table before.
Nivsha Amin
Always a pleasure visiting this little place in Sandringham which reminds us of home ! Every thing on their menu will remind you of good food found in Mumbai ! Their thaalis are worth trying and ensure you save some space in your tummy for their delicious paan ice cream ! I'd recommend you to try pav bhaji, kothambir wade, missal pav and thaali plates. And yes, don't forget to wash it all down with a nice cup of chai! Cheers !

Really terrible experience with family in saatveek. Food is tasteless as it did not feel or taste like mumbai snacks. We only liked bhel out of our 4-5 dishes we had ordered. Restaurant does not have family friendly environment, lack of ventilation. We had so much breathing problem while we were there. Service was like I was doing favor on this restaurant. I will not recommend this place for family. Venky's or satya serve better way than these guys. I will rate it ZERO if that option exists. Needs so much improvement in how to talk to customer or explain delay of order in apologetic way, use thank you and please words when serving or taking orders.
Elliott CK
The sight of bewilderment at the Saatveek menu must be a common one. The safety net of butter chicken and lamb korma isn't there to fall back on when you're ultimately asked to order, and being from Maharasstra and entirely vegetarian the fare at Saatveek wouldn't even be familiar to a lot of Auckland diners as Indian food.

Luckily for us the owner saw our confusion at the menu and offered to order for us, it was almost like she'd seen the same scene more than a few times. With a bit of a glint in her eye, all she needed to know was if we liked lassi and if we wanted medium or spicy. Of course we went for yes and medium - our lassi shortly followed. We spent the next 45 minutes being taken through a well timed journey of small plates. We covered rice dishes to rolled taro leaves and some tiny sponge cakes with a beautiful green chutney with a lot more in between. The finishing touch was the owner's special dish with some Indian style garlic breads - fantastic. In another restaurant that wasn't so clearly run like a home kitchen, this stuff may have been called tapas. All the food was tasty and showed that they really knew their markets. The other food we saw heading out to the Indian diners of Sandrigham was completely different to ours, and the hints of spice in our dishes showed that if we had asked for spicy it certainly would have been delivered.

The space is functional and brightly lit, with the lemon yellow and pastel blue theme that you can't help but notice when driving down Sandringham Road carried through to the interior. PPrices were very reasonable especially considering we had given free reign - it all worked out to less than $20 a head!

Saatveek is highly recommended if you're after something a bit out of the ordinary.
Maree Martinussen
Incredible flavors, and so much on the menu, so lots of fun choosing. Very vegan friendly. Helpful staff. Recommend the alu wadi and the vada pav
Omkar Bane
I bet if anything could beat the taste of most of Saattveek menu to a Maharastrian taste bud. Excellent atmosphere and comprehensive meal options. Kudos to Saattveek Team.
Sandy Padey
Brilliant, unique dining experience. India has incredibly diverse cuisine and food from the state Bombay is in (Maharashtrian) is rarely available in restaurants and that's what makes Satveek so unique

Maharashtrian cuisine is not drowning in curries and spices, and the vegetarian fare is a time down memory lane for Maharashtrians like me, and a great adventure for others.

The menu is extensive and and lovingly created. Try everything, the desserts are a total treat.

The owner is welcoming and a good host - prices are reasonable. Give it a go!
Kymberlee Müller
On the hunt for #indian food in #myauckland? Look no further.
Saattveek in Sandringham serves almost authentic #Bombay chat and local delicacies from the west coast of India.
Must try: Sabudana vadas $5 (pictured) and pani puri $6

Seeing rating of 3.9 for Indian restaurant, it got me excited with great expectation from this one. But sadly so it was short-lived. The food is just average with the most upsetting ambiance- walls inside out are indigo blue which makes it look dull. I ordered aaloo puri, paw bhaji and some chaat. Nothing pleased me enough to convince me to go back. Pricing I guess is alright but when there r options of Venkys, Shubh, bawarchi i will barely reach out for a bit overpriced veg curry or chaat. Was pretty happy with the service, they are smiling and very welcoming which is why I am giving it a 3.
Aishwarya.deshmukh20
I am giving this rating because of the experience we are having here off late.

Initially when we visited the place for the first time, we were amazed with the food quantity and the quality. Though the ambience was a little dull that did not matter to us as the food was good. Second visit of was not so good, we were shocked to find out about the hygiene there. The glasses were not even washed and the plates had stains. The lady was chirpy and got us some delicious food so after changing the plates and the glasses we were content but not completely happy.

We continued to give saatveek multiple chances to improve but we were always disappointed.

Recently we were shocked when we visited saatweek. The lady at the front counter was always a lil excited but she was very rude to us. The food that we ordered was stale, not at all fresh. There was puran poli under specials and she gave us a frozen one. I mean what the hell? If u have listed something as special, then do u serve that frozen?? I couldn't eat most of it and it tasted old. The lady does not have sense to speak to the customers and tries to oversell the place always.

We gave this place enough chances and now we shall never visit this place again.

If you wanna eat some authentic street food, please go to Bombay chat to get good food and if you want to disappoint yourself then go to saatvek.

Rating 1 because of the first experience we had, else would have given -1.
Mithilesh.vnit85
Best maharashtrian restaurant in Auckland. Great taste and very homely atmosphere.
Aunty is very caring.
Love the food and will visit again and again.
Aditya Hule
Nice place for gud Marathi food. Homely feel....! It was about time auckland had some good Marathi cuisine. Thali is just the right quantity. Not too much not to less depends on how u eat.
Gem Mc
Went here for the second time with a group of 8. Fantastic service and amazing food and very very inexpensive for the quantity and quality. It's not a flash place but it has a nice atmosphere and it's alllllll about the food.
Shalini Dixit
Boley to jhakkaas....thats a typical mumbai wording for awesommme...
Lovely food everytime...so much that my hardcore fast food loving son wants to keep coming back for his daabeli and paw bhaaji.
I just luv the cut vada ...keep coming back for more...
Ashlene Cheryl Cardoza
Simple no frills Maharashtrian fare. Don't come here is your definition of Indian food is Butter Chicken and Paneer Tikka. Come here if you like Poha, Missal and Kothimbir Vadi. I really liked the Pav Bhajji as well. And make sure when you tell them to make it spicy, you can actually handle that level of spice. The food here is vegetarian, maharashtrian and feels almost home cooked. The place is small and the prices are affordable. I only wish they were open for lunch on weekdays
Sakshi Wadhwa
The food is nice and authentic, or so my friends from Mumbai tell me. I love their Daabeli, pani-puri and pav-bajhi. It's a small family run type of restaurant which means the service isn't their plus point, but they make up for it by reasonably price dishes.
Tanmay Jauhri
A lovely place to drop in for tasty snacks and a meal. The place is run by the owner herself and the food quality is fabulous.I visited this place in the evening.Staff is very friendly and ambience is good.Do try their panipuri as well as samosa chaat.I liked them the most. The restaurant offers a menu with lot of food items from Western India. Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.
Ashwin Kumar
This is best veggie restaurant as far i came across , especially the food & service is too good. Favorites are Indian burger, panipuri(chaat), pav bhaaji and the most i love is kichidi a bit spicy which i love a lot.

After having Dinner from here, it definitely felt like Saattveek. The foods are delicious, Specially Pav Bhaji, Pani puri, and many more. Haven't tried something I disliked so far.

Best of all, is the value for money!!! Takeaway prices for quality food.

I personally didnt find anything too inspired about this restaurant and it's offerings. However, their chaats and the Maharashtrian vegetarian fare is decent. Very "Run of the mill" menu but done well. Nothing that some other joints on the same street doesnt. Space is truly an issue as too many tables and chairs are crammed into a small space. One visit wont hurt and is quite economical.

Food was yummy, Must try Misal (Kolhapuri) reminded me Mamledar In Thane. Any Mumbaikar must visit & try Marathi dishes!! Authentic Marathi taste, vatla ki mein Mumbai madhi ahee !!

One of the best place to have chats in Auckland. Very reasonable price and personalized service. Kids get special attention!! Variety of western dishes available and I still need to taste them all.

Delicious fresh and tasty food and super helpful and friendly staff. I had dinner here tonight with some friends that were vegan and we were looked after incredibly well and had such beautiful and varied dishes. thank you!

This place has some of the authentic maharashtrian food options. The vada pav, bhakri, zhunka and misal are just amazing. The sabjis could be better. Puranpoli is yummy too. The chapattis are just like ones made at home. The stand out dish has to be missal pav. The best I had after a very long time. Great food. Must visit....for sure.

Nice place to have Maharashtrian dishes but nothing to rave about as the price is not worth the quantity. You have to atleast order 2 dishes each to fill your stomach and you are looking at $25 atleast. I had better meals much cheaper. A good one time visit if you wanna try something different and definitely not a boutique restro.
Taste 4/10
variety 7/10
Decor: 2/10

When i first found out that Maharashtrian food in Auckland, i was quite amazed with the idea but also was a bit worried about how it might turn out to be. But, to my surprise, Sattveek turned out to be amazing!!!!

Humble, refreshing and hospitable!

Everything here has a Mumbaiyya flavour to itself. From their 'kothimbir wadi to "modaks and karanjis", also with gujrati thali as well 😍

Wada paav - Mumbai's favourite is a must have!! 😍😍
Thalipeeth- Very very good.
Aloo wadi - Crispy and Tasty.
Chat items - has a mumbaiyya touch to it

The misal pav and pav bhaji were super yummy and just the way it should be, and bhendichi bhaji had the traditional flavours, chapati was super soft.

Shrikhand and Poori are the best.
To end, Masala chai is just a cherry on top.

Ambience is fresh, hygienic, a bit congested though.

Price v/s quality - 3.5!

Overall, time well spent and food well savoured.

Introduce my sister and brother in law to thali.
This place is a great place to take any vegetarian friends. The food was good but I've had better thali. It's not a flash place but it's affordable.

This place is awesome! Had the Vada Pav, the Pav Bhaji, Ragda Pattice and Thali. At one point we just couldn't stop ordering. Great food, very homely and we absolutely enjoyed every single dish. As authentic as it can get. Went home with a happy tummy. LOVED IT. :D

Great authentic Indian vegetarian food. Been there a few times never disappointed. The menu is original and the recipes are very authentic. Try the chaat and the thalis. My favourite is poori subzi...simple and tasty. Also pooranpolis on special days.Keep up the good work.

Good eatery, but not value for money at all! You pay decent price for a meal but you end up getting very small portion compared to elsewhere. That essentially would hit hard on your pocket because you'll end up buying something else to fill your empty stomach.

This is home food away from home. I was delighted to first learn that such a Marathi restaurant has opened its doors in Auckland! I literally dine here whenever I get the chance.Authentic Marathi food, different choices, healthy food just as you would find at any Maharashtrian home, reasonably priced and ever smiling & hospitable staff! I'd surely recommend this to anyone and everyone. Its definitely worth a try. Thank you sattveek for blessing us with great home-alike food ❤️

My mum and I had lunch at Saattveek today. Upon entering the cosy restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the owner and seated.
We ordered Sev puri, Pani puri, Pav bhaji, Kolhapuri misal and lastly Mango lassi to finish off. All the dishes were delicious, prepared with care and served promptly! We were very impressed especially with the Kolhapuri misal (highly recommend it if you are looking for a spicy treat on a cold winter day) and the Mango lassi.
Thank you for a lovely lunch Saattveek!

Really delicious fresh Indian that a little bit different! Some of the best I've had since leaving India. Lovely host. I'll definitely be back.

Very nice vegetarian food. The manager is super helpful and even asked if we had any special needs - gluten free, vegan etc. She also explained the menu and options. We will definitely return to try other items from the menu.

Fantastic!!!! Tasty, yummy maharashtrian food!!!!! Made me feel like I was in Mumbai. Whenever I crave for Misal, vada pav or shrikhand puri, modak, this is the place to be..... Love it ....

Amazing food, a friendly welcome, helpful recommendations, prompt service. The space itself is small and basic, but that kinda adds to the charm in a way - though the room was a little cold. Plenty of people both eating in and taking away on a Wednesday night, which made for a nice atmosphere.

Did I mention amazing food? The kind that made my wife and I talk about it all the way home. We'll definitely be visiting again.

It's not very often in this city, that for such a reasonable price you can be charmed, seduced and overwhelmed by the rich scents, flavors and wholesome hospitality that this place offers. Tucked into the bustle of Sandringham, Saattveek is a place for people who seek authenticity served up with whatever they are eating.

Outstanding food, full of flavour, healthy and tasty, excellent service, great value. Highly recommended. Highly recommended. Highly recommended.

Had light veg tali it was tasty. Liked the fresh cucumber and the okra curry too but not a fan of the daal here. Overall was good and healthy
Highly NOT recommended.

Not worth value for money and time. Reasons are as under:

1. Food was not delicious as you get in Indian restaurant.

2. Took to looooong to get food on table. Not good place to go when you have hungry kids!

3. Four of us didn’t get food at the same time!

4. Gujarati thali was served cold except roti. Even daal was NOT warm. (No good for elderly people).

5. Two Thalipeeth was different size, one small one bit bigger. Portion size should be same size, Isn’t it?

6. Curd served with Thalipeeth was too runny. Couldn’t even hold it to Thalipeeth.

7. Dry chutney served with Batatavada and Thalipeeth was ONLY one tea spoon.

8. Green chutney served with Sabudana Vada was runny too. (If it’s that runny should be served in chutney bowl).

9. Why all serving plates and cutlery were different sizes and shapes!! Totally unattractive.

10. Last but not least, the lady on the counter had an unpleasant dressing. Her sports shoes were grubby; Track pant doesn’t go when you are at front counter. Even the hair was not done properly.

Lovely food and a nice atmosphere. Authentic Maharashtrian food. Surely deserves more than a few visits considering the spread they have. Very nice service as well. Good addition to the vibrant Sandringham eateries list. Recommended.

Amazing food and service! Vada Pav is a must try! Lot of dishes which I can't even pronounce so just ask staff for recommendations and they'll help you out.

Awesome food, and a lovely owner who will recommend dishes and talk you through the menu. Will definitely be back to work my way through the menu!

My husband and I regularly visit Satveek on all those days when I am too lazy to cook and we always have a good time. Their food here is excellent and served with so much love. Love the misal pav, pav bhaji, dabeli and dahi puri. We will definitely be back, hopefully on a weekend now for the undhiyu.
