Fast Mexican! In general we were happy: The place looks cool with vintage posters etc. The food was not tasty as we thought for some reasons- they can be fresher I guess. One thing to mention is Isaac (from Mexico) the duty manager is a customer service star!

I ordered the wet burrito and it's by far the best Mexican food I've tasted in New Zealand. Completely authentic tasting and smelling! Consistent on flavor and preparation is awesome. You can customize your food in front of you, and there's a range of variety of choices to mix things up. Also the people serving are incredibly patient and willing to help you find what you want. And samples are awesome! Instead of spoons for tasting they use chips. Really awesome buy. Thanks for reading.

Excellent service and food. My husband and I eat here regularly. It's very healthy and good value, and most importantly, it's delicious. The staff are always very friendly and very helpful. I've eaten burritos in London and all over the USA but Mexicali Fresh definitely makes the best burritos in the world :) Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Mexicali Fresh New Lynn :)

Good was great fresh vegtables tasty salsa. Tried medium and mild salsa both were great. The customer service was excellent. Decent priced fresh food. Will be eating there more often one of the best Mexicalis I have been to.

I love Mexican food so it's a no brainer why I chose this place. The food is great value; I ordered the classic nachos. The dish is quite large for one person so worth every dollar (= the only critique I have is the amount of beans that we are given with the meal. There was a large ball of beans stuck on the chips that made them a little unpleasant; but the meal was great. Excellent customer service; great with upselling. I felt great entering and leaving the establishment. This is a well deserved 4 stars. Thanks Mexicali New Lynn!

wonderful Mexican foods , burrito , tacos , quesadillas , so many option to choose . they made fresh salad everyday and their portion size is also big. most of time 4 pm to 7 pm happy hours for having great taco deals. they also give you free mean worth of $15 on your birthday , register to their cabana club app and fill the detail to get the birthday voucher . their toilet are so colorful and clean , wonderful theme of toilet

This might be not just the best Mexicali in Auckland, but the best Mexican full stop. Food is always amazing, staff are always cheerful and happy to help, atmosphere is great, always clean and tidy. Never disappointed every time I go. 10/10.

Friendly staff, good ambience, clean resto and toilets, great tasting Mexican fast food, with a good selection of Mexican drinks. Fridays and Saturdays after 4pm are promo rates for tacos, which is certainly a treat at only $3.50 each.

I like Mexican and the people working here look Mexican which helps me eat Mexican food I don't like tequila tho its horrible I've always wondered how they make such nice food but not a nice drink then I try there beer which is quite nice and that's a Mexican drink so they must be able to make nice drinks! the crispy taco confuses me it always makes a mess of my shirts where as a soft taco I can eat really easily but its really hard to construct where as the hard taco is easier to construct but messy to eat! I'm good at construction I'm a construction worker they also have construction workers in mexico and I bet they drink the beer because tequila is yuk

It was my first experience to have Mexican food in 2016 and these people made it worth... Be it food, staff or ambience everything was sooo good... | BBQ jackfruit taco salad and quesadilla | - I love Mexican food, this is now my favourite go to health cheap meal. The new BBQ jackfruit is succulent. I love the fajita veggies but the jackfruit is next level! The stringy texture is like pulled pork for all my meat eating friends.

Mexicali is my absolute favourite place to come for a quick takeout (or dine in) meal. Although I have enjoyed all locations I've been to, New Lynn is the closest. Despite other reviews on here I very rarely have to wait even when dining at peak times, the decor is great and the service is good (although they always seem to be training new employees) I always opt for the el dippo which although a side provides plenty of food for dinner and even leftovers for lunch the next day. Mexicali caters for vegetarians and it is even easy to make a meal vegan if you're brave enough to request no cheese or sour cream.

I arrived there at 8.30pm on 1/7/18 and arrived to locked doors and gossiping employees sitting at one of the tables. When I knocked on the door a male (who seemed to be the manager) looked at me and shook his head at me. There was no explanation to why it was closed early nor an apology. We were left without food as it was the only takeout store of its quality supposed to be open at that time. I am disgusted and disappointed.

Really inconsistent with the way they make the food. Sometimes they'll forget to add ingredients or just the amount you'll be given can range from great value to "are you kidding?". I just ordered the vegetarian nachos and because I don't eat meat the beans is hugely important. Anyways they of course forgot to add this and instead of giving me the proper meal they refunded me $1 LOL. I can't even believe how ridiculous they are. I even ordered extra sides and it's missing the most substantial ingredient. Also barely any corn chips so I'm now just eating salsa and jackfruit. Really disappointed after being a regular customer of theirs that this is how they resolve an issue.

Usually I have Mexicali on my way home from school but today a new employee had served me, he plated with minimal nachos and when asked what salsa I said medium, he didn't put medium he put a large load of mild and had already placed the cover. Sometimes I really love the service I get from them but recently with new customers I've been getting worse, Thanks

The food here is brilliant with a lot of options. The food here is tasty as well. It takes a while to spot the location due to the construction in New Lynn. On a busy day at lunch time you have to wait at least 20 minutes to give your order .

Either close the business or sell it to someone who can run it. So many bad reviews, seems like owners haven't read any of it as the crappy service continues. Bad experience for my first time, dirty tables, flies and staff aren't cleaning. Stingy servings and slow service. No option to give no ratings!

Hands down. i live like 5 mins from lincoln road mexicali - and that store i dont like the food sucks no love at all put in to preparing your meal, the staff are ..... end of my rant back to new lynn mexicali the best!!! I love Mexican food, and so I often come here for a quick lunch. The standard of service, quantity and quality of food varies so much between each visit. I only really come here for the daily special, as I feel regular menu can be overpriced (especially when some of the staff are stingy with ingredients!!) The salsa bar, pickles and hot sauces are a great addition.

My boyfriend and I love Mexican food and like going here since it's like a 'Mexican subway'. However the customer service here isn't good at all. The workers act like your burdening them by being there and they are very stingy with the amount of guacamole, sauce and toppings almost as if the food comes out of their personal paychecks. We are currently on the hunt for the best Mexicali in Auckland since the New Lynn, Central and Mission Bay locations all have crappy service. The food is good enough for the price though!

The customer service at this store is usually good. I like that you can order Mexicali online and it's ready for pick up and you can also customise your order. The chicken quesadilla's and burritos are nice, especially with lots of Jelapinos. I thought the pulled pork burrito which I got this week was really dry and had a funny taste to it. They are pretty expensive too... Don't think it's worth the price. It is a nice shop but always quiet every time I go past - not sure if that's a good sign! Food is ok but nothing amazing.

What a bitter disappointment, 4 of us arrived for something to eat & were greeted by two staff members that were clearly not wanting to be there so don't expect any great service or any instruction on how it works. You cannot sit anywhere in the front due to glass & extreme heat,Food was really disappointing & totally over priced. We eat out alot & are big on supporting local businesses in New Lynn & Titirangi but would not recommend & would not go back! Strongly suggest that staff are trained on providing service with a smile & try interacting with the public.

The worst tex mex I've ever had. Tried the tacos with pork, first they dont even give you the option of adding beans to the tacos (what kind of mexican eatery doesnt offer beans with tacos!). Then actually biting into said taco your immediately hit with a sickly sweet 'pork' taste, which overpowers every condiment inside the taco. It was soooo disappointing, and to top it off it gave me diarrhea. Ive never been so put of food in my life. I wouldnt even rate it a 1.0, but im forced to if I want to submit this review. Sooo deeply unimpressed.

Tried the chicken quesadilla. Awesome vaue for money. Chicken succelent and lot of flavour. Smooth refined beans and tasty roasted vege.... hot salsa and gucoamolie took me to mexico... topped w little fresh salad n corn chips.... pickled onion from salsa bar nice accompaniment. Staff friendly but a little more smile needs to be added as it a self service place.... surely visit again...

Place looks great. Easy to get to and find parking. Burritos are alright, you could really have that chargrilled taste. Might need some more salsa sauces choices. We liked the Chicken quesadilas, it tasted like adòbo(marinated chicken). Kids specially my teenage girl loves it.

Mexicali is worth following on social media if you want to score a cheap feed of Mexican every now and then. I came here for the Cinco de Mayo special of $3 tacos and beer. While the beer was cheap, it was also warm - probably because they had to restock their fridge often when selling at such a killer price. The tacos were good although they ran out of soft and only had crunchy available. I like that you can serve your own salsa and offer hot sauce in foil packaging if you choose take away. I try not to buy the full priced options if I can help it, as the daily deals are way more worth it.

Sad that i feel the need to give such a low review this place was great when it first opened and since then it has only got worse its really disappointing the staff are the main reason for this sadly there are a few really nice staff but some in particular are really rude and grumpy and it really has put me off eating here the food seems to be lacking flavor but its ok once you wash it down with a double shot margarita the salsa bar has been really messy everytime i have eaten here and its not enjoyable having to look at multiple messy and dirty tables even when its not busy and the assembly of the tacos is a complete mess in a basket i used to love eating here but now its just a real let down hopefully they get some more friendly staff and improve the cleaning standard and assembly of the food :(

Quesadillas!! My favourites and the best here. I've visited several Mexicali's, at the viaduct, at Hobson and this one at New Lynn. By far the one at New Lynn provides the best service and interaction.

Just had beef minced Burrito and it was just bad. The lady working there was very reluctant, They had plain white rice in the Burrito and I asked the lady if they had Mexican rice. She answered "Isn't this not Mexican enough?" Wow! The funny lady slaps all the stuff on the tortilla and shoved it on my face. The Burrito was lacking flavors but on the brighter side they had Tapatio sauce which made my meal taste a bit better. I am giving 2 because they had Tapatio sauce and good clean crispy Nachos.

i ordered a carona beer and a beef burrito. i was amazed to discover that the beer was flat and my burrito was missing the essential meat ingrediant ie beef. when i took the order back the girl serving dissapeared into the back and did not return, instead someone else emerged who knew nothing of my dilemma. terrible!!!! left without compensation or explanation...not reccomended

Interior clean, staff disinterested, food presentation was .... oh there wasn't any. Guy was just throwing "stuff" in. What we got was a basket of mess along with a cold clump of refried beans. The food is bland. Cold. Ordered 4 different meals, ended up leaving most of it behind and went to McDonalds a little further up the road. Wasn't for us. Wont be going back. Whats the deal with the old school, school chairs????

Better value to go to Mexico (the restaurant not the country!)

We had a family outing here a few days ago. Front of house staff were very pleasant and helpful but that was where it stopped. We had Nachos (chicken & beef one). Well to say there was a mountain of food would be an understatement! Digging around into the meal there was no identifiable strong flavours you would associate with Mexican food. It was bland throughout the only thing that changed was the textures of the "slop" of a meal that was in front of us. Very very dissapointing to say the least.

My sister and I came out to breakfast here on a Saturday morning. We were the only ones eating here. The waiter was friendly, the menu was clearly displayed on big screens & easy to navigate. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and my sister the soft breakfast tacos. The food was very delicious & the flavours so fresh. I'm not so easy to please when it comes to eating out as I've lived in California and eaten a lot of great Mexican food. Mexicali Fresh did not disappoint. We're hoping to bring the whole family and come back for lunch.

My workmate and I decide to try Mexcali Fresh (New Lynn branch) today for lunch. We each got a burrito: one chicken and one beef. We were both very disappointed. My workmate threw half of his beef burrito into the rubbish and I threw about a quarter of my chicken burrito away. Not impressed!

This has got to be the worst experience for Mexican food in NZ. After being 'greeted' at the counter by the rudest person we had ever met we finally got our order of tasteless food. If it wasn't for the chili sauce, cardboard would have been a better option. Because this place is so quiet the food is not fresh. The 'Mexican' person at the counter needs to learn what hospitality is. Waste of time and money.

My wife and I dined here on Saturday 1st February 2014, it was mid-afternoon no other patrons but us. we both ordered quasidillas and burritos, one beef and chicken. I was very surprised when I viewed the meat selection and cuts inside their bain moree, the beef looked unappetising it was totally shredded to non-existing mush, chicken and pork looked overcooked! mince was watery and mushy. The lady that served us was pleasant in mannerisms but observing the way she plated our plates up was sub-standard. To top off our order she quaintly chucked all these tortilla chips on all 4× plates, I could of gone to Pak n Save and bought a packet of the same and done it @ home, when we ate our food the beef was to salty, chicken was overcooked, too much cheese which overpowered the quasidilla and burittos, the salad was very bland no taste or variety, mince tasteless! Overall experience not happy at all, you need to up your standards in serving quality cuts of meat like chunky strips of steak or brisket beef, same with your chicken, and you mince needs careful attention to detail with texture and taste you need more variety in your salads experiment is the key! the only positive about our dining experience was the pineapple drink we bought with our meal. I won't come again unless your standards improve in the areas mentioned.

Found this restaurant car park side of the new medical centre. Wow what a refreshing change. Fresh, tasty, healthy food and open evenings as well. Great selection of Mexican soft and alcoholic drinks. Very friendly staff passionate about the food.
