Staff is nice and friendly, refreshing for Auckland. The menu is diversified and the wifi is an actual internet wifi that works ( as opposed to many other cafe who offer cheap capped wifi)

I decided to have breakfast here on Monday morning by myself. The restaurant was busy nearly every table being full. The staff were nice however the restaurant seemed dirty. <br/><br/>I ordered the creamy mushroom with bacon and a caramel frappe. Both items were not what I expected, the mushrooms seemed to be in a bowl of butter next to a plate of sour dough bread and 2 slices of bacon. Thus,I just resembled the dish myself (seen on photo). The ice frappe was more on ice than anything else.<br/><br/>2.5/5

Do I need to say it? Do I need to say which hot beverage I bought from here a week ago? Might as well, ordered a large Hot Chocolate just because I can. My quest of buying hot chocolates at various cafes and bakeries have been stronger than ever and becoming more difficult identifying which makes the best. They did a pretty good job of making it sweet but not too sweet.<br/><br/>The people who dealt with my order were quite friendly and the waiting time wasn't even that long (which is what I was expecting). Entering the cafe, place order, wait for a couple of minutes, receive order, leave....simple as that. <br/><br/>It's kinda tucked away when you're walking past it, so you gotta keep turning your head to the side in order to see it. They have a pretty decent outdoor dining area as with the indoor dining area. The layout and colour is basically what you'd expect at every franchise store around.

I like Claudia's comment. This is a bakery where you get what you expect. Pie, sandwich and Lamington. Forget the fact that it's in the city and you will be happy. If you expect a sophisticated dining experience with in depth customer interactions you will be dissapointed. I think the food is pretty good for the price/location. I would not normally think of ordering espresso coffee from a bakery (I have high expectations of milk foam technique so am quite picky) so have not tried that.

Average hot chocolate and average muffin. I just tried it as I was walking past high street. The competition is really intense among cafes and Hollywood Bakery & Espresso really needs to carve its own niche.

Bad Customer service. The man with the glasses behind the counter who is there at most times is very rude. <br/><br/>I am a regular customer for nearly a year now and I am never recognised i don't even receive a "hi , bye or thank you " words.<br/><br/>Also I find it very strange that the poster says buy coffee and get a free muffin however they always charge 50c for a muffin. I went to several Hollywood cafe's in the city and no where they charge for a muffin. <br/><br/>When I used up a card to get a free coffee I asked for the tall size coffee and then I received a very rude response back from the same man that I could only get a small simple coffee which is strange again as everywhere else you can get any coffee of any size but not in this place. Nothing is mentioned on the card about the sizes of the last free coffee either. <br/><br/>I like that place as I work near by and it's good and convenient for me however every time that man behind the counter i don't even want to enter the place

Cheap and cheerful, standard Hollywood Bakery. Coffee isn't too bad either :) they have pretty good customer service and remember your orders when you're a regular which is nice.
