Review Mr Toms - Auckland Central

We were looking for a nice Italian place in Ponsonby to celebrate a special occasion and we were glad we ate at Elmo’s. We ordered the Margherita and truffle pizze, and the cacio e pepe, lasagna, and spaghetti alle vongole. The flavours were complex yet mellow and I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner. The staff were quick and efficient and we left feeling satisfied. Will probably return again to try out the rest of the menu.

New favourite Italian restaurant in Ponsonby. Food was exquisite, top quality and great price. Looking forward to coming back to try more dishes! 😋

Decent pasta pizza bar. I’m not the biggest pasta fan but this place was alright. Nothing super outstanding, as expected standard cost of pasta for portion if not a bit more on the generous side compared to some out there, and very definitely al dente/tougher pasta than the super squishy stuff I’ve had so enjoyed that. Flavours were complex in the vodka rigatoni so carried us through/would’ve liked a meat or some other component-that may just be my Asian side coming through wanting diff side dishes. Clam spaghetti was yum, good selection of clams, simple pasta to accompany-sauce was much more mild compared to the spicy rigatoni, I personally would’ve like more garlic to come through. Potato skins were as crisp as they could be I guess, extra crisp-ness definitely would’ve have been bad at all. Good sauce though. Definitely love the interior and the extension downstairs with the extra seating and first time having to go up some ‘steep’ stairs to a bathroom.

Delicious pizza, tiramusu, and the dark horse brussel sprouts! Beautiful people and amazing atmosphere. Would definitely recommend! Cocktails are diverse and plenty too :)

We had the Margherita pizza, potato skins, meatballs, garlic flatbread, truffle shuffle pizza, spicy rigatoni alla vodka, and spaghetti cacio e pepe. We loved the potato skins and rigatoni! The meatballs come in 4 and are a pretty small portion and taste average, so I'd recommend trying other sharing dishes instead. Service was incredible and staff were very friendly and helpful. We were also given olive oil, chill flakes, and tongs for sharing pasta. Bathrooms are on the second floor up some steep stairs, people with mobility issues should keep that in mind :-)

WOW!! We came here for bottomless brunch for my birthday and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely devine, the aperol spritz were flowing and the service was second to none! All the staff were so friendly and VERY attentive, always offering to top up our drinks. It’s quite hard to find good service around these days but Elmo’s staff were a 10/10! Highly recommend! Cannot wait to come back!

One of the best Italian food in Auckland! Amazing sauce with great flavours on perfectly cooked pasta. The truffle Shuffle Pizza was also top-notch. We had Cacio e Pepe Spaghetti alle Vongole Truffle Shuffle Pizza Anchovy Flat Bread Pesto Burrata Potato Skin My only small feedback is that the tables were rather small to fit the four of us and all our dishes (which we shared) and our drinks.

Been here so many times and can’t get enough of the Honey Pizza! Their pizza is crunchy and flavourful, and exiting combinations! The entrees are good as well especially the crudo and calamari! Highly recommend to order this to your office so you can have a taste of all flavours. My Top 3 must try below 🍕Discovery of honey 🍕 Hawaii not 🍕 Insta-ham

Wow, we might even say some of the best Italian food we’ve had in a long time. Got to get the burrata & anchovy flatbread to start - non negotiable. Pizzas we’re sold too! Shout out to the great service from the Yorkshire lad!

You have to eat the pizza when you get here. Note, if you're ordering the pizzas for the kids, the size is the same as the adult size. My son could get through his but my younger one only got through half so we boxed the rest. The pasta with clams was amazing. Al dente pasta. Atmosphere - in the heart of ponsonby in a very cozy Italian theme. Great for couples or by the pizza oven with families

Mr Toms is damn good hun. Went here for the first time and it was so damn good. I got the Mango NO.5 mocktail and it was so fresh and tasty I loved it. For dinner I got the Karaage Chicken and it's the best I've ever had, the chicken was perfectly cooked and had a lot of flavour and the sauce it came with was delightful. For dessert my family and I all shared a mango panna cotta , apple tart and a chocolate mousse. The desserts were all delicious they really pulled through. The staff were super friendly and chatty and the actual restaurant was super modern and trendy, there was also live music the night I went and the lady singing just brought all round good vibes to the restaurant. Can't wait to come back here again! x

The waiters were very polite and accommodating. We were sat in the restaurant part but it was very noisy due to a birthday party. They apologised and seated us in the bar area until the big group were gone. The food was really lovely. I had the snapper which was just devine. Nice sauce and veggies. The fish taco was a good start. Great decor.

A pity the new owners seem determined to run Mr Toms into the ground. We were a group of approx 12 dining in the restaurant part for a birthday. A surprise birthday cake had been dropped off earlier in the day after checking this was okay. Our reservation was for 7pm. Before our orders had even been taken, a waitress arrived at the table with the cake still boxed - she appeared very confused when we said it was meant to have been a surprise and that we hadn’t even ordered our food yet. <br/><br/>Unfortunately the evening when downhill from there. The food was good and after we’d eaten we asked the same waitress could we please have the cake once they’d finished clearing the tables, giving the guests time to use the bathroom, get fresh air etc. <br/><br/>Moments later, the cake arrives. No biggie, we can get the rest of our party from outside. We had arranged a large cake from an amazing local cafe, and each of the party had a slice, before politely asking if we could re-box the remaining cake. Nope... the waitress had decided to throw the cake box out? <br/><br/>The cake was then shoved onto a flattened pizza box and roughly covered with tin foil, with staff in the clearly open view kitchen mimicking squishing the cake... really professional!<br/><br/>Upon paying for our meals, same waitress struggled to seperate the bill and had to get the owner/duty manager. After working in front line customer service and hospo roles, I have never come across such a rude host in my life. I kindly mentioned for future birthdays, it may be best to double check at what point of the evening people would like their cake brought out - at which point she insisted it was very common to have birthday cakes on display at dinners and she had dealt with HUNDREDS of cakes and we were the first party to want a surprise cake? She was extremely defensive and kept saying how rude one of the members of our group was, and how we should respect the waitress. I’m sorry but at no stage was anyone except her being rude. And yes, she was happy to charge $10 still for the cake. <br/><br/>I am not one to leave feedback but a disappointing birthday dinner and being a local, I will never go back to Mr Toms - there are so many better places along Ponsonby Road that know the meaning of customer service. 1 star.

Food was absolutely delicious! Karaage chicken’s so crispy and pretty big servings. The fish taco was refreshing too. The steak burger’s too good, love the sauce and very tasty. Their cocktails were awesome! I enjoyed my dining experience in here :)

Came here with my family for my birthday lunch. I thought everything was really well priced and I loved the ambience, very easy to hear, nicely decorated and friendly staff. I would have liked to give it a four but I found my mocktail had way too much ice and not much actual drink, however it did taste nice. It also took my husband two days to call up to make a booking as no one answered the first day and the website did not work for bookings. When making the booking over phone he had ordered and paid for a surprise dessert for me and then forgot about it on the day until after we left and so did Mr Tom's. So he was quite disappointed. My husband and I decided to share some of the small plates. The edamame beans were delicious, great flavour. The pork and pineapple taco was juicy and had well balanced flavours, I could have eaten a few of these. The fish taco was boring, didn't have much flavour. On both tacos though, the tortilla itself was delicious, homemade and soft. The squid was lovely and soft and cooked perfectly, the name Jim sauce was ok but a bit watery. Not sure if I would come back ?

Food : 3/5<br/>Service : 5/5<br/>Ambience : 4/5<br/><br/>We booked a table for 12ppl for my partners birthday dinner and drinks. I know it's the European style to have long tables but it was very hard to mingle with many of the others at the other end of the table.<br/>If you are coming here for a foodie experience, i wouldn't recommend it, however if you are looking for great drink combinations then this is the place to be! Sorry I got too excited and downed my drinks before i had a chance to take pics. All cocktails ordered were well presented, tasty and strong enough.<br/>The only dish we enjoyed was the Karage chicken, the rest were very average and below unfortunately.<br/>Ambience and service wise - the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Ambience was lovely, bright and relaxed vibe.

Parking is pretty difficult to find around here. We were seated straight away and given menus and water quickly.<br/><br/>The service is excellent and the waiter keeps checking up on you. The mocktails are not worth the $11, I had the Apple One and it was filled with ice and just tasted like apple juice with lime. For $11 I should have just had a 1 apple juice and 1 lime juice and mixed it together, at least I would have 2 drinks.<br/><br/>The ribs were a bit of a let down. Really dry and the meat was pretty scarce. It was pretty much all bones. The chips were OK, tacos OK. Nothing really stand out.<br/><br/>The lamb was cooked well. The best part of the meal was probably the squid, it was cooked well and nicely flavoured.<br/><br/>We were seated near the open kitchen so we could see the chefs cooking. I was surprised to see one of the chefs wipe his sweaty face with his hands and then proceed to use those same hands to garnish the dishes he was serving!

I love Mr Toms. And not even just because they gave me a $100 bar tab last summer. Mr Toms has it all - it’s the perfect location for sunny Sunday arvo drinks with your girlfriends, or a nice dinner out with your partner. Whether you’re just looking for bar snacks & a couple of cocktails, or a 3 course meal with wines to match, Mr Toms is always top of my “where should we go for that occasion?” list. I can’t fault them - I’ve never had a bad experience (and I’ve been their a fair few times now). And even if something has gone wrong (like the time one of the waiters spilt candle wax on my partners sunglasses, which, let’s be honest, was mostly my partners fault for blowing the candle out anyway) - they were so great about it - super apologetic, cleaned them up for him and took a couple of his beers off the bill. <br/>I don’t think I’ll ever not love Mr Toms :)<br/>Although I do wish they would bring back their duck fat potato bites - they were incredible!

This was my 3rd time at Mr Toms. Had a great Sunday lunch! Loved having the heaters outside to warm me up on a cold afternoon. Service was prompt and friendly. We got the Smoked Mushroom Pizza, Arancini Balls, and the Rhubarb Fizz Cocktail, all exceeding expectations. Will definitely be back for more 😛😛

Mr Tom's is an amazing place, drinks were so good (especially that Espresso martini), however whoever was the DJ on the night of the All Blacks game (25th Aug) was the absolute best! Definitely needs a pay rise. Food was good too, we had a Margarita Pizza, and that was very delicious.<br/><br/>However after all this raving about the bar and restaurant, I have to give my experience a low score of 2 because sadly my friends and I were kicked out because I was "intoxicated". I can say 100% that I was not intoxicated. That music, whoever was DJ'ing just kept popping out great tunes, banger after banger. All we did was respond to it by dancing, a natural response from the body to music. I wouldn't mind returning but I expect proper respect to your customers like making the manager present when asked who he or she is and have something to prove that your customers are what you say they are.

Service was seamless before we even hit the restaurant! I received a call midday on Saturday confirming my reservation; this is exactly the kind of attentive and personal service every restaurant needs to make diners feel welcome! <br/><br/>I've been eyeing out MR TOMS on instagram (we follow each other) for the longest time, initially drawn by their aesthetic and famous cocktails. <br/><br/>Upon walking into the restaurant, we were greeted by a handsome lad wearing a striped shirt who escorted us to our table in the Kitchen section downstairs. Four focused chefs were working away in the open kitchen at the back. The blue-themed cushions and walls complimented the crisp furniture, lit up by the natural light peering in from the overhead window. <br/><br/>From the Sharing Menu we got: Lamb Ribs, Hoisin Pulled Duck Lettuce Cups and Pork Belly. <br/><br/>From the Salads we got the Tandoori Chicken Salad.<br/><br/>From Mains we got: Duck Breast and Crispy Market Fish. (Yes this was all between 2 people, the waitress had to double check haha!)<br/><br/>For drinks we tried an array of their cocktails, namely: Coco Colada, Life's A Peach, Summertime Spritz and Ponsonby Fruit Cup. <br/><br/>Every dish was a winner for me! Food arrived incredible fast and straight from the kitchen. <br/><br/>- Pork Belly; three succulent chunks of pork belly sat in a bed of creamy yellow pumpkin and ginger puree. The citrusy Slaw on the side added the perfect crunch and tanginess. The skin was crisp but not greasy, while the belly itself was cooked to absolute perfection. The Jus pulled everything together. <br/><br/>- Lamb Ribs fell right off the bone! Nicely seasoned, cooked well and the Salad complimented the flavours intricately. <br/><br/>- Duck Lettuce Cups was a delight on the palate! The strong flavours of the duck as complimented by the crispness of the bean sprouts and vinaigrette.<br/><br/>- Crispy Market Fish was cooked to perfection; tender and juicy and the skin was crispy in all the right places. Cauliflower puree and baby carrots were soft, creamy and the fish cake was a very nice touch! <br/><br/>- Duck Breast was faultless, perfectly cooked. The elegant scoop of black rice on the side was a very unique touch! Bok Choy was soft and juicy and the subtle berry flavour of the blackcurrant jus intricately lifts the flavours up. <br/><br/>- Tandoori salad was well-seasoned, with juicy pulled chicken pieces, avocado, pumpkin, lettuce, corn and tomato gently tossed in mint yoghurt. It was light, refreshing and wholesome. <br/><br/>The drinks deserve a photoshoot! I forgot to comment how we had the hardest time deciding because every cocktail sounded so good! Ponsonby Fruit Cup is a very interesting mix of fruity and almost Coke. Favourite would have been the Summertime Spritz, recommended if fruity flavours are your thing! Coco Colada and Life's A Peach leave a stronger aftertaste on your taste buds. <br/><br/>We scraped everything clean off the plates because it was that good! Service was impeccable and everything ran smoothly. Would definitely be back to try the rest of the menu and cocktails!<br/> <br/><br/>Food: 10/10<br/><br/>Price: 10/10<br/><br/>Ambience: 10/10<br/><br/>Service: 10/10

Fantastic food, great ambience and the best service we have had in nz. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. The food portions were good and they had an interest mix of cocktails.

Very pleased with the overall service and food here. Ambiance is awesome cool spot and location, jut came for some drinks and a nibble after a festival. The waiter we had was the man! Very friendly, helpful, cracked a couple jokes, would come back just for the service! <br/>Cocktails are delicious, well presented but pricey. It is Ponsonby after all. Chips and sauce yum! Pizza very good, usually not so keen on the plainer pizzas with not many toppings but this particular was very good. <br/>Will be back for a bigger meal and drinks at the start of a night out in Ponsonby I’m sure.

Average food. Fries were good but the vege burger tasted really oily and didn't have much flavour. Smoked aioli was not v nice. Cocktails were good

This is definitely one of my new favourite restaurants in Auckland. I went here for nye with my partner, and the food was incredible! I had the market fish and he had the eye fillet. It’s been a week now and he’s still talking about how amazing of a meal it was! The wine list is also very impressive with heaps of selection. The service was great and the vibe is also nice and laid back. They have a separate bar area from the restaurant which I also think is nice. Highly recommend!

We have been to this venue a couple of times, always very good service and good food. Our son has an allergy but this was no problem for the kitchen. Mr Toms is now our favourite family restaurant in Ponsonby!!

Came here on a Grab One deal, 2 courses for a really reasonable price! Food was great, steak was cooked perfectly. The only thing that let them down slightly was the slow service, I think this was due to the amount of Uber eats orders coming through. Overall would definitely go again!
Lucyeatsakld
Came here with a grabone voucher for a 2 course meal and had such a pleasant experience! <br/><br/>I got the lamb rack as my main and chocolate fondant as the dessert course. I normally don't order lamb, especially not rack but I was really happy with my choice - it was delicious and crispy with just the right amount of fat. The carrots were a little under cooked but the eggplant and kumara mash was A+. All in all the flavours were superb and went well together. The choc fondant was gooey and rich just the way in should be. I loved the espresso ice cream it came with but could have done without the marshmallows, they didn't add too much apart from sweetness. <br/><br/>Our waitress was really lovely and provided awesome service which made the dining experience even better. <br/><br/>It was still fairly quiet in the restaurant area when we arrived at 6.15pm on a weeknight but towards the end it got quite loud with big groups plus the music so not the best place for a quiet intimate dinner. <br/><br/>Food: 5/5<br/>Service: 5/5<br/>Ambience: 4/5

Nicely modern decorated venue. Good service for a Tueaday. It gets pretty busy and noisey when full so not ideal for date night if you want to hear your coversations.Food was good.Kaarage chicken was ok sauses complimented the dish.Lamb cutlets was deliciously flavoured and the fiji tacos had good flavours just lacked some lemon wedges which we asked .<br/>Nice little cosy place to catch up with friends for a drink and a bite.

Had a great dinner with my husband at Mr. Toms tonight. Our first time to try it and we both loved it 😍. The restaurant is stylish and cozy and the food is great. We had a 3 course meal, entree - fish creviche & coconut poached chicken lettuce cups, mains - prosciutto pizza and crispy skin market fish and salted caramel mousse for dessert. The serving is very generous and all taste very good. The staff were friendly and service is on point even if the place is quite packed for a Monday night! This is a must try place in Ponsonby and we will definitely be back soon!
S&G Take Auckland
Really cute restaurant for a tapas style meal with friends . We came here tonight and were really surprised on how cute the actual restaurant was. Food was all on point. The aracini were well cooked and super tasty , squid was perfect and the sauce with it was too. Great portion of edamame for $8 well worth it. The prawn skewers were average slightly overcooked and small. Overall will definitely be back

It's out second time trying Mr.Toms we like the ambiance in the dining Kitchen area looking cozy and pleasantly gives you warmth. Our starter is arancini which is good and well cooked! Main was market fish was seasoned perfectly and delightfully tasty! steak was good and well presented. The dessert selection is still the same from the last time we've been here. The place can get crowded and a little bit noisy the soonest it's close to cocktail hour. Crew was attentive and friendly. <br/>We'll comeback again and looking forward to. Great new selection on the menu.

First impressions count? We had an awkward wait at the entrance, before being greeted by a less than enthusiastic waitress.<br/><br/>All our waiters/waitresses were proactive on the feedback regarding food. However 3 changes of waiters during our dinner may have contributed to cutlery being forgotten for both main and dessert. Had to flag someone down a couple mins after one of the chef's delivered our dessert..<br/><br/>The ceviche had recommendations in past reviews, ours did not taste fresh which was a bummer. The steak and chicken mains on the other hand were seasoned well and cooked perfectly, enjoyed! Salted caramel mousse was a hit with the tastebuds; perfect for sweet lovers, nice combination of ingredients. Lovely decor.

A Ponsonby modern staple - my favourite kind of place 😍. Lazily stumbled in for a late lunch or extremely early dinner (who's to say?) and we were greeted with open arms! The waiter was the real MVP of the whole establishment, he told us the specials that were actually worthile - e.g. The $25 bottle of wine from 4-6pm 😉. This is the perfect place to grab some tapas, pizzas and beverages on a sunny Saturday afternoon leading into the evening 🌝🌚. The food is great, the location is great and the service is outstanding. Overall I would recommend this place for double dates and friends 🥂
Breadzania
We ordered quite a few tapas to try from the menu. We had lamb croquettes, prawn curry, chicken karaage, fish ceviche and pizza. The food is ok. My least fav is the pizza as the dough is a bit tough. The fries were not crunchy enough with a runny sauce. Chicken karaage is seasoned nicely though. <br/><br/>Service is excellent and decor is great. Food is a bit too fusion and i cant find identity in the food. But overall it is worth it to try here since the service is a plus.
TheInvisible Floating Torso Man
Grabbed a deal for 3 plates and drinks. Wasn't impressed that they limit customers to just Asahi beer when it doesn't say on the fine print. Deal says Tap Beer. Bought the deal because tap beer was included and was wanting to try other beers not named asahi. I told the lady who attended us if I could have a different beer because when I checked the menu the other brands on tap have the same price anyway. But she was told by her manager twice that they will only give me asahi. They should also specify on their deal that they are only limiting it to 330ml so customers won't be surprised as most deals include a pint.

Thoroughly enjoyed MR TOMS. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The ambience was great and the food and drink was amazing. Highly recommend their Karaage Chicken and cocktails!
Shanya Singh
We had a three course meal. The salt and pepper squid was amazing and so was the karaage chicken. The seasoning was just perfect and we received our starters within 10 mins of ordering it. For main I had the chicken jalapeño pizza and I must say that they we're very stingy with the amount of toppings on the pizza. Had bare minimum. We also had the fish of the day which was superb. After the main course it seemed like they had forgotten about us. After waiting for about 35 mins we had to ask them if our dessert was on it's way. It seemed like the food started off great and then slowly lost its touch. The salted caramel mousse was nice but I wouldn't go for seconds. Also the fondant wasn't that great. Overall the night started off great and ended on a low note. Quiet disappointing to be honest. Should have ended it after the entree.
CocoOnFire
We got a GrabOne voucher - 3 course meal. Both the entrees very nice - Lamb conquettes and Prawns with bread; especially Lamb - stew first then crumb. Steak was normal but the salmon was nice . with a very nice slightly sweet sauce. Last the Salty Caramel mouse is surprisingly yummy.

My speed eating session left me super satisfied in all the right ways. <br/>Having escaped work for a quick lunch break I landed on a stool in a relatively busy Mr Toms with my phone in one hand and my diary in the other. <br/>My plan was to work. That plan failed wonderfully. <br/>I was greeted by an incredibly friendly british girl who watered me and guided me through the menu. We spent five minutes chatting and laughing and I immediately felt relaxed. <br/>I ordered the pumpkin bruschetta, the coconut chicken and a flat white. <br/>Within 10 minutes my food arrived by another wonderfully cheery British girl (there must be something in the water overseas) and we chatted whilst I ate. <br/>The food was superb. Deliciously fresh, the perfect balance of soft creamy feta and mouth watering pumpkin with a crunchy baked bread under - totally divine. The chicken (a recommendation of the first server) was again delightful and my only regret was not having time to order the same again. <br/>With such varied competition in the area it's clear to see why Mr Toms is so popular. The team made me feel like I was home from home and I spent the rest of the day feeling very satisfied indeed. <br/>100% recommend. <br/>

I had read such good reviews about MR TOMS and decided to try it out. We were a group of 10 and everyone walked away really impressed! The decor is stylish and the service is friendly and polite. The stand out had to be the cocktails! For dinner I would really recommend the Market Fish. Will be back for sure :)

So far here was the place where I had the best in Auckland. Tasty smoked mushroom, amazing sauce and dough, brilliantly baked. Really worth trying, that's all I have to say.<br/><br/>They are also famous for their drinks, so I tried a mojito (I am quite sure it was that, although it is not on the menu), which was quite good, refreshing with its big beautiful mint leaves. <br/><br/>Service was ok, the bar was full and noisy, and one thing I don't like is when staff *kindly ask* if you wanna pay for the whole table. it really puts the client in an uncomfortable situation, when the bill is a problem the restaurant should worry about, not the customers.<br/><br/>In spite of that, I think it is a good place to go to, and I hope it will last for a long time in Ponsonby.
Mr Eats
We wandered in here a little hungry post work on a Monday night. The official dining area was closed due to a private function, so we stayed in the front bar and chose from the shared plates bar menu. It was a little pricey for shared dishes but the flavours were good. We had the pork sliders, chicken karaage, and the chicken salad...which were all YUM. However we also had the eggplant bruschetta which was...average. Service was friendly and attentive.
Brunchalicious
Came here for after work drinks and pizza. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and yummy pepperoni and artichoke pizza, and prosciutto and feta pizza. Would come again and try the other food on the menu as it looked and smelled delish on other people"s plates
Dale
Great service and amazing food. Had 4 small plates and chips for two of us and it was heaps! I recommend the ceviche. Set on Ponsonby Rd (sunny side) it has plenty of space. Only downside is lack of outdoor seating

This venue has gone though so many bloody owners and nothing has ever worked. Mr Toms might be different I had the entree, main and drink for $30, defiantly don't get the steak main it looked like crap.<br/><br/>Pizza was great and the prawn and chorizo entree was good.<br/><br/>Good luck Mr Tom, hope you last longer than the others before you, food and servcie was fine, good place for work drinks.
Geoff
My sister in law organised a dinner for 10 of us. We had a set menu that provided more than enough to eat; with various shared plates as the starter and 3 types of pizza as the main. And it all tasted great. <br/>They have Boundary Road beers (in bottle and on tap) which I'm a fan of the NZ Pale Ale and Porter. Others in the group had the Mr Toms Wine Carafe, a very easy to drink red. <br/>The staff were very helpful & communicative when making the booking and were polite and attentive when we were eating. <br/>Definitely planning on going back and recommend trying them out.
Allie Noen
very good place to have drinks and food really like service and friendly staff.<br/><br/>great location on corner and on busiest food hub good on you guys really like...

Great service at this sunny spot on Ponsonby road. The pizzas are amazing, duck fat potatoes are delish! The food and ambience here is really enjoyable! Staff are super attentive and has a good vibe on Thursday/Friday nights! Awesome spot for catching up with friends for drinks and nibbles after work!

Came in here a few times, another awesome place on ponsonby Road to catch up with mates for a drink. The food here is also amazing, generously portioned and very friendly staff. My favourites are the cocktail list =} the chicken wing and the zucchini flowers. Warning this place gets busy.

Mr Toms lives up to all the hype surrounding it. Great food, attentive staff and an outstanding atmosphere to eat and drink. Top marks for the new hot spot in Ponsonby

Amazing place for drinks or dinner! The service is outstanding and the food is awesome. I had the flu when I went for dinner and the friendly staff made me a hot toddie to help my throat. They are so lovely!! Definitely recommend this place and will be going back for sure!!

Great new spot in Ponsonby!<br/><br/>Been to Mr Toms a couple times now and have left impressed every time. Whether for dinner or drinks there's something for everyone. The prawn & chorizo and lamb meatball small plates are both awesome as is the sausage pizza. The staff are friendly, beers cold, and atmosphere is fun. <br/><br/>Definitely worth checking out!

Went to Mr Toms for Friday afternoon drinks after work - there was a great crowd there at the end of the working week, and the atmosphere was fantastic.<br/><br/>They have a wonderful outdoor seating area for hot summer days, and the interior is designed beautifully - it's a gorgeous space. Aside from that, the drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are extremely attentive - they are always filling up your water glass, clearing empty glasses from the table and constantly ready for you to order more drinks.<br/><br/>It's perfect for a social gathering, and is positioned really well on Ponsonby road.
