The cafe is a cute local joint with a small team who are always friendly and willing to make menu suggestions. Wouldn't right home about the coffee (it was burnt with no crema formation) but the breakfast menu has a great variety of choices with something for everyone. I had the big breakfast which on this particular day came with the mince (usually served on the mince of toast) as the potato cake was out of stock. The ciabatta was fresh and tasty and the scrambled eggs well cooked (not dry or rubbery). We also go the chicken parma (using 1+1 Zomato deal) and this meal was a very decent portion size. Would come back again to try other menu items - but probably not for coffee :)
Rockys keep the menu fairly simple, which suits me, and they do each thing on the menu really well in their own style.
Compared to many other cafes their dishes just seem to have a bit more care and effort, whether it be the type of bread used, the way the cook eggs, addition of their own potato cakes (rather than bought hash browns etc).
Service is always personal and friendly.
Coffee is excellent.
It’s also one of those places that has managed to nice relaxed atmosphere without going over the top on fitout.
Hard to not keep coming back ...

Found this little gem when it first open and it has been my usual weekend joint since.
Their food is really amazing and value for money. There is always plenty of parking at the side. Occasionally we get some free freshly baked donuts. I always bring my visiting guest to my local joint and the feedback is always great.

Great food, nice owners @ reasonable prices. It can get quite loud if the place is full but small price to pay for good food here in the heart of Auckland Central.

Great food and environment! Very healthy and very tasty. Parking is around the back. Overall it was a really great experience. Its a nice place for families to relax with some authentic Italian food!

We had wanted to try Rockys for a while now, since it opened, but had never made it. No problem getting a table on a Friday night at short notice, which was a bit of a surprise as we had heard good things. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. There were some loud patrons and I did notice that the noise was rebounding a bit off the walls with few soft furnishings to absorb it. Could get hard to have a conversation if it was packed out - maybe they could think about putting in some sound baffling.
We ordered calamari for an entree as the seafood chowder which was the soup of the day had run out. It was delicious and came in good time. My Wife had the beef pappardelle which was amazing and I went all traditional with the cabonara. All very tasty, which was great as we got full and had some to take home for lunch the next day! A simple menu that they appear to do well and great service. Would have liked to see a few more than one non coffee based options for desert eg a sticky date would top things off, if we'd have had room...
A nice addition to Mt Albert and we are going back for a birthday meal with the whole family tonight!
5 star review for this place. From the time we walked in to this place, we felt at home because our server, Aimee was so amazing. She greeted us with a smile and sat us down. She looked after our every need. The food was as amazing as the service. From starters to mains, everything was fantastic. We had salt n pepper calamari, hand cut fries, aranchini balls. The squid was crispy on the outside abut succulent to eat. Our mains were fantastic too. Pizza Margarita, Chilly Garlic Prawns, chicken rissoto, chicken parmagiano. Thank you Rocky for such an amazing evening and dinner.
Rocky’s is one of the best in our local area. This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine alcohol list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.

Meals are big portion and taste very well.

Our very own hidden gem in plain sight. A cozy and unpretentious neighborhood cafe with outstanding food and service.
The cooking is as close to home cooking as you can get outside of your home.
The menu offers variety without overwhelming you with options.
The food is freshly cooked, delicious, and the presentation is picture perfect. By the way, the bread is baked in house daily and the food is cooked by the owners themselves.
The owners are very friendly and have a genuine interest in their clientele. So, if you are on the lookout for a lovely little cafe with outstanding food and service, you found it.

Burger and chips were the best I've tried in ages.
Crunchy chips with the skin on topped with herbs.
Flavorsome Beef Burger, with delish sauces and well flavored and cooked pattie.
Love this place, they do great breakfast and coffee, haven't been yet for an evening meal but i am looking forward to the opportunity
Totally 5 stars. The food was exactly as beautiful as the photos on their website. (All Looked and tasted AMAZING) Portion sizes were perfect. Service was excellent. Prices exceptional for the quality of food - highly recommend.
I came because I heard about the burglary and wanted to give local support. But I must say it impressed me. The food was beautiful and yummy. Fresh simple ingredients like Italian food ask for! The menu is simple and straight. The restaurant is small but very cozy... it's a great experience and I would definitely come back. I hope they get to come trough this dark phase and keep the restaurant.
