Review Water Drop Vegetarian Cafe - Auckland Central

Cristiano Habibi
Location is great as it’s inside a temple. Prices have increase and quality of meal has decreased. I’m also not sure why they removed the self serving water.
Stephen Tan
Very busy during school holidays but worth the wait as food was delicious. And being a vegan only cafe, you can be rest assured there is no contamination from non vegan products and also no allum products as well. Highly recommended, and will be back again in the future.

A nice little cafe inside the main temple premises. The menu is completely vegetarian. The food items are freshly prepared and offer a rich glimpse into the Buddhist Taiwanese cuisine. The seating is nice and comfortable along with the overall ambience of this place. The place is easily approachable by road. Ample parking is available on the premises. Highly recommended for a meal while visiting the temple or otherwise as well.

Known this cafe for awhile as it's within the hood...as always they served only vegetarian menu. Remembered last time me and hubby brought our kids here to try their food, you know as kids who's fuzzy about eating vegetables they actually liked it. None of them thought they're not actually having real meat on their noodles and burger. Well, we told them at the end of their meal after getting their feedback how's the food tastes for them. Well done water drop cafe team👍

Very superised by the taste of protein-made meat. Nice environment and atmosphere.

Probably the best tofu I’ve ever had. Super healthy and tasty food. I tried the tofu noodles and everything on the plate was fresh and delicious. All plates are quite generous so rest assured you’ll leave this place with a full belly. Staff is friendly but the cashier can get quite busy some days since the place is small and there’s usually a lot of people, so in general there’s a 5-min queue to order. Our food took around just 10min to be ready. Totally recommended and will be definitely back

Wanton noodles with soy meat...don't leave without trying this. Laksa was good, not my pick from all what we had (maybe I love the seafood version too much to try something else), the deluxe portion was really massive for someone with average appetite. Sui Mai, again, brilliant. And lotus tea to go with your meal. Staff is very friendly, we were here on a Saturday with the place packed to capacity. Love their interiors plus the outdoor seating is well done too. Didn't get to try their Nasi Lemak, will visit again.

I will start with I am more carnivore than vegetarian. That said this is the best vegetarian place I have ever been to. Recommend everyone to come and try it out.

Excellent food. Very delicious and awesome ambience. Now, this is my best place to eat out. All food is vegetarian here. Can feel positive energy as we enter. This was my first visit. I loved it. Great service too. Recommend to try here definitely for vegan food.

Located inside Fo Guang Shan temple. Nice little cozy place with only vegetarian dishes. Surprisingly the coffee tastes pretty good. Food is tasty and healthy. As you can see the photos. I’m not big fan of vegetarian food but this place exceeds the expectations for sure. Nice to visit on the weekends.

Would definately go back, lovely fresh food and a different way for me to eat. The staff were very polite and friendly. Considering it was very busy when I got there for my lunch, I didn't have to wait long at all. Also a lovely few hours wandering around the temple 😊

Food was amazing lovely peaceful surroundings fab place to visit ( we were visiting family who took us here ) well worth a visit

Great vegetarian food and amazing location.

After visit to the temple, we had an amazing vegetarian lunch. My mom being a vegetarian enjoyed the delicious food they had to offer. Definitely worth a go for the spring rolls and soy nuggets.

Very nice ambience, the dishes were surprisingly delicious, and service was good too, we had a very good time there, kids can have a play after the meal.

It is rare to see a peaceful cafe like this cafe. Lotus tea is wonderful and their vegetarian food are very tasty and healthy.

The ambience of the place adds to the experience. It may be packed during the weekends or for brunch hours but it doesn't take away from the overall calmness this place exudes.

Their milk tea is very delicious and strongly brewed, excellent to pair with the various pastries they have on offer. The most beloved dish that I order all the time is the wonton noodles. Packed with flavour and very filling despite being quite light is a recommended dish.

Overall a great experience. The staff are polite and helpful and the food service is great.

Very nice cafe inside the temple. Surprisingly tasty vegetarian food. Would highly recommend the wonton noodles. The tomyum vermicelli was very nice too, it came in a candle-heated claypot. We would be back again to try the rice dishes too

The Water Drop cafe is an excellent choice for people who love asian flavoured food. It is fully vegetarian and inclusive for all patrons.

The food is packed with flavour, served steaming hot. Their tom yum fried rice, bbq wonton soup, laksa are delicious.

It is open during lunch hours and well worth a visit

Quote 'JEAN2095' for 20% off Zomato Gold membership. Great deal!
Enjoyed our meal at this very quaint and lovely vegetarian cafe situated inside a zen and tranquil temple. My hubby and I decided to pay this place a visit after seeing reviews of how great their vegetarian food were; and we were blown away! Ordered their Today's special (braised noodles) and my hubby had their laksa. They were both very flavorful and well executed and we could barely tell that they were vegetarian! My braised noodles had a good portion of vegetables as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and had a lovely stroll around the temple grounds to walk off the food. Beautiful and peaceful place and would definitely head back there again!

Quote 'JEAN2095' for 20% off Zomato Gold membership. Great deal!

Located at the entrance of the temple. Nice little cafe with great selection of vegan food. They make a mock meat that is tasty and looks great. The laksa is very tasty too
Vegesaur
Great selection of food. I couldn't decide, so tried a few different things. My faves were the BBQ wonton noodles, and the laksa. The spring rolls were also yummy! I'm going to slowly make my way down the list I think, as there is a lot to choose from! Good selection, all vegetarian and very welcoming staff too. I'd give them 5 stars if they also opened in the evenings!

Despite living in that area for most of my adult years, this is the first time I set foot inside the temple and tried out Water Drop Vegetarian Cafe.

Highly rated by my friends, the food here did not disappoint. The deluxe laksa made with vegetarian ingredients was exceptional. The rich spicy soup paired with yellow noodles, eggplant, tofu and mushroom balls - I highly recommend.
Wanzi Xiao
It is a peaceful cafe with beautiful environment. The food cooked there are tasted like meat but actually the ingredients are all vegan ingredients. And it is a paradise place for vegetarian. Great service is provided.
BW
Such a lovely space filled with lovely food and beautiful, down to earth people. It’s a perfect place to share a laksa, a couple spring rolls and maybe a roti with a brew or two. Everything is vegetarian, so it’s also a good spot to get your “five plus a day”!
Food2belly
Absolutely love this place, I never get to eat sweet and sour as it's made from pork or wontons. One thing I miss are the BBQ sauce they use in pork but now I don't have to miss out. Though, one down side is I wish the portions were bigger, it's quite small and a bit pricey.
Pancham Lakhanpal
Best place best food .. good place if you like vegetarian food .. love this place .....:)
Atmosphere is so peaceful at this place . Highly recommend to every one to visit once .

This is definitely a spot to try out for all those with a vegetarian pallet or for anyone wanting to enjoy vegetarian cuisine. The place is tucked away just before entering the Buddhist temple and includes a beautiful scenic view and a sense of peacefulness in the environment.

I had ordered the black pepper patty rice which included a tempura battered tofu which was delicious. Mixed with the relaxing atmosphere and great customer service I would definitely come back. I recommend to give this place a check and to also explore the Buddhist temple while you’re there.
Bobohood528
The peaceful place for calm down and for your bad mood. Every time when I came here, I always ordered a pot of lotus flower tea and my favorite Buddha dish. Listened to the music, ate the delicious vegetarian food, all the worst feeling gone with the wind
Adrianna
Good portion, tasty vegetarian food. We ordered stir fry noodles, BBQ wonton noodles, and Goodwish Fried Rice, and a plate of very tasty fried cheese rolls. This place also serves western style snacks. Service was polite and fast. Recommended.

I have been to this restaurant many times and I can say that the restaurant has a great environment and have very polite staff members too. And the food is great and personally being a vegetarian and having a restaurant which is only vegetarian and on top of that it also has a large variety of options was very refreshing. It is very creative how their food is served too as some of their food looks like meat but is not though. Overall though their food was very delicious and their customer service is usually quiet fast even when busy- I would recommend this place for everyone.
Ngwxx
This is a great place if you’re looking for an affordable and tasty meal! Their bbq wonton noodles are amazing and actually tastes very similar to real bbq pork - you wouldn’t even know you’re eating vegetarian
Strwbbyyy
Came here in the past and I can’t believe how vegetarian food here taste amazing!! It tastes like real meat! The environment is lovely, the customer service was average, prices are okay, will definitely come back. It feels like a family oriented place.

Very nice and friendly staff and good is very nice and served with all the love. There is so much to choose from. Everything is fresh and made to order.. super busy on a Saturday but you wanna go there for a soulful food. The laksa is super good and their Tom yum fried rice is a 10 on 10. They serve vege fritters with various rice dishes and thry were super crispy. I lobe their spring rolls. The chef reccomendation should be tried.
Preeti Mala
My second home! This place is amazzzzzinnnnnnng! The rice tea is a must try! My favorite tea ever, hands down. The location and atmosphere is to die for! 😍✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼
G
Came here for lunch and it was busy and bustling. It was kind of hard to find a seat so we shared a table with other randoms. The laksa was ok, it could have been spicier. It’s a great place for vegetarians and vegans but as I don’t really like faux meat or tofu, I’m not too keen on a lot of the food but it’s a great atmosphere.
Wendy Xu
Super polite and friendly waitress, ordered a Tom yum and it was delicious! Would recommend and go again as it is not your typical vegetarian restaurant. Only thing is it’s abit pricey for a vegetarian meal. As it cost $15 for a fried rice when it is all vegetables, but good course.

Have been pass the temple many times but this is the first time to the restaurant..Have tried vegetarian dishes in temple's overseas many years ago and was amazed at the quality and texture of dishes served there....water drop probably not as of that standard overseas but the dishes we had today were quite tasty maybe a little bit on the pricey side for the types of dishes we had but in saying that the temple itself is amazing!!and worth the dining experience here alone...
Little Borneo Girl
I am not a Buddhist but I believe that anyone can enter the surrounds of this temple regardless of your faith. The temple has a Tea House (Water Drop Vegetarian Cafe) where an array of healthy vegetarian food, coffee and tea are served, a place to socialize amongst family and friends. This temple is like no others. The air surrounding the huge temple and its garden is fresh unlike most Buddhist temples full of smoke from joss sticks and incense burning.
Stephanie Tan
Wonderful friendly staff. The food is well priced and presented. Every meal I have had has been delicious. I will definitely be returning! :)
Kiwilisa
Yum yum yum!!! Get there early to avoid the weekend lunch crowd :) Definitely a must try if you are in the area!! and it’s nice to go for a stroll around the temple afterwards, especially on a beautiful sunny day ^_^ Highly recommend the food!!!
Marnie Clout
The best vegetarian cafe I have experienced. Excellent service and great tasting dishes. The pickled veges are to die for. My only regret is that I ran out of room to try more :)
PK
Great place to visit for a great vegetarian meal.Loved the rose tea and the lemon and honey tea.The bbq noodles was tasty.Service is very polit and respectful .Will be back to try more dishes.
Ashlee Adams
Super tasty vegetarian (predominantly vegan!) food in beautiful surroundings. We always get the laksa with rice noodles and the BBQ wonton noodles with rice noodles - so delicious and really generous servings. There aren’t many veggies on each dish but it’s delicious nonetheless. Staff are always lovely and polite, and it’s fantastic to be able to enjoy the temple grounds and art galleries post-meal. I recommend coming on a weekday or earlier on the weekend to avoid the rush. Sit outside if it’s nice to enjoy the tranquil surroundings!

We order fried noodles, taste very great,
Braised noodles soup , taste delicious!
And lotus tea is the best tea I ever drink.
24 Mar 2018,we went again for lunch.
The cheese patty rice is GOOIEST!
30.3.2018,we order
fried rice noodles , always taste best。
Tom yum fried rice, very spicy but taste very good.
Rose tea, smell and taste very good.
26 Aug 2018, too many people, we order
Laksa Noodles Soup ,this is our first try , my husband said , he wish more coconut milk and more spicy, so, he give 3 stars.
11 Jan 2019, I order a tomato noodles soup.
Taste good, full of tomato favorite.

I’ve been looking for a good vegetarian restaurant since I became vegetarian last year, and this place is what I’m looking for. The staff were very friendly, and the food was amazing! Definitely worth a try!
Dennis Kee
This cafe is in Fuo Guang Shan temple in flat bush. Being in a Buddhist temple, only vegetarian food is served here. We had bbq wonton dry noodle and deluxe curry last noodle. Everything you find in the bowl that look like meat is made of bean product or gluten. The laksa broth is dense and flavoursome. The serving is generous. The bbq wonton noodle is a little soft due to the amount of sauce on the plate (rather than completely dry). But the vegetarian bbq "pork" is nice and overall flavor of the noodle is just right. This cafe is a non profit organisation. All income generated will be contributed to charity. Consider this a bonus for dining here.

Such a great place to enjoy a meal after a relaxing visit around the temple grounds. The food is good, fresh and well priced. It’s always fantastic to go somewhere where there are so many vegan options and to feel good about the type of place I’m supporting in eating there.
Haden
While this place is a bit out of the way it's worth it. All the foods are vegetarian with fake meat. I recommend the sets which give you a main, rice and other sides.
Ugeshni Khan
This place exceeded my expectation. As it's part of the Buddhist temple, the ambience is very relaxing. Everything is vegetarian, but trust me, you won't be missing the meat. They have meat substitutes for everything and it actually tastes really good. There was a group of us so we ordered a few things like laksa, BBQ wonton noodles, sui mai, BBQ buns and one of the rice dishes. It all tasted really good and the food came out pretty quick. Will definitely be going back for more.
FoodBin
Definitely worth checking out. Good food good ambience. Had quite a few items and were satisfied with all the dishes. Will definitely come back again.
Ashmita_N
I always order the BBQ wonton noodles, very delicious and my fave dish here. Great atmosphere and fast service! Usually busy and not much seating space, but worth waiting for a seat. Highly recommended!
Mojo Jade
Favourite is the water drop set lunch, you usually get a colored rice like purple rice and 3 side dishes. Some side dishes are really interesting they had a vegetarian fish fillet with even the fish skin mimicked. I love the curry potato/tofu staple side dish that is also the same as the Laksa soup noodle if you order that. I dont choose the brocolli cauliflower side dish hahah. The vegetarian fish balls and bbq pork are super tasty too. Their fried noodles have a strong smoky wok flavor because of a hot wok and skilled chef. They have many interesting herbal teas and beautiful nature surroundings, fill not just your belly but your mental and spirit levels.

This place is absolutely divine.

Lovely settings and ambience. Beautiful and tasty vegetarian food - all the dishes I have tried are unique and thoughtfully put together.
Lisa Marie
This place is incredibly. Completely vegetarian menu with lots of different options. I always go for the BBQ wonton noodles- they are delish! Prices are ok, around $12 -$15 per meal.
For a small, non profit cafe these guys kick ass! Recommend getting there before 12pm on weekends as it is very busy and seating is limited.
Great selection of tea as well if your into that.
Beautiful feel to the cafe, very peaceful. Nice to walk around the temple gardens after eating.
Anna
Good for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike. They have a lot of meat substitutes. For example "bbq pork" is actually made out of bean curd. The noodles I had were quite bland today but the dishes which accompany rice are normally good.
Vijay S. Sethi
Totally an awe place! Could do with some process improvement as it could take ages for them to get the order in as you have to queue for it! So if you have to order some more f something you like - you can forget it as it will take them another eon to fill that order. Food is awesome - no complaints except the portion sizes have dropped significantly since a a year ago! Rest alls good & will surely visit again until the portion size drops to a spoon!! Hahahaha
ChloeN
The staff here are all very kind. The fried rice dish I ordered was so delicious with that cup of tea. My friend and I had a good time here :)

WOW!! Came here today for lunch with hubby and friends. Food delicious you would never know meat free. We ordered Tom Yum Fried Rice, BBQ Noodles, Steamed Buns, Sui Mai's, Sato Rolls, Spring Rolls. My idea of eating everything in the middle of the table and trying bit of it all. Sooooo Devine!!!! Can highly recommed. Such a tranquil place and staff very very nice.
Hmily0721
Good food and nice environment. Nice and friendly service. Like it!!! Will go next time as well. Never think it has no meet but all in meet flavor
Lambie
Nice vegetarian restaurant with great ambience! The Tom yum fried rice tasted great. The noodles were a bit salty but still quite tasty and full of flavours for vegetarian dish, we would visit again

Awesome Buddist Temple alone is worth visit, haven't been herd for a few years, so called in today Sunday 15 January 2017, stinking hot muggy day too, had a snack of Wonton & veg in a delicious soup broth ($6) - super yummy and very good prices - very clean and good Feng shui.

I was curious about this temple for a while but never really had chance to visit. Finally, my friend and I went this cafe today. Place wasn't busy when we got there but was almost full by 12:30 so better be early than later. We had Today's set lunch which you can chose three dish to top white/brown rice. Vegetarian meat was nicely flavoured and tofu curry had good kick. I would like to come again to try some noodle dish.
Choco
Very disappointed with the food here. The hot chocolate is so bitter, you wouldn't have tasted this anywhere else. We had the sweet and sour rice with tofu. It was not worth the price. I didn't enjoy the food.
I really enjoyed the temple , a very divine experience, but sadly the food didn't match up to the rating given here.
Alana
We went there on a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy! Theres a nice ambience in this cafe and would imagine it to be really peaceful and calm on a quieter day.

We ordered the braised tofu with rice and BBQ pork wonton noodles. The braised tofu has a very rich and strong flavour which I really like, but that's all I can praise about this dish. The vegetables (cabbage and broccoli) are bland and given that the braised tofu is the star of the dish, I would expect it to be served in bigger portions. Also, they are quite stingy with the braised sauce, which I thought is a pity. The sauce would have gone really well with the rice. I wouldn't mind having just the braised tofu and sauce with white rice. The vegetables seem to be just there to fill up the space on the plate.

The wonton noodles is pretty nice, love the wonton skin and its fillings. The noodles are well-flavoured with the sauce but the BBQ 'pork' is on the chewy side although the flavor is not too bad either.

Overall I'd give the braised tofu dish a 2.5/5 and the wonton noodles a 3.5/5. Would go back again to try other dishes, maybe on a weekday when it's quieter :)
Stephy_NakiGirl
Such a beautiful location, it is great to have a cafe where you can relax & enjoy the surroundings. The cafe has indoor & outdoor seating as well as a gift shop.
There is a TV playing which has a Buddhist monk talking through vegetarian noodle recipes - an awesome touch.
They have a range of noodle & rice dishes which are all vegetarian, simple & delicious. Most have tofu but there are other options.
Today I had the Rose tea which was delicious & fragrant. The honey lemon is also really good.
Tanz
Been here for late lunch on weekdays and the lunch selection they had was out, so we had to order dishes from menu which was fine anyway.

We had the famous laksa that everyone reviewed here, for me personally I prefer it to be more spicy but I understand that it's vegan food so the taste might not be that strong like normal laksa. However it wasn't bad at all, generous portion and had tofu, vegan meatballs, vegan bbq pork and beansprouts.

We also had bbq wonton noodle - I like vegan bbq pork here. They were tastier than in laksa somehow. Maybe because of the sauce they put in here, I'm not sure. Wontons were also yummm.

I highly recommend for people who want to try vegan and sick of eating just salad and veg soup. This is a really good choice for vegan food in Auckland!
CafenCulture
Great portions sizes, hearty and moreish vegetarian meals. Fair price as well and great service. Only downside was the noodles were sticking together when they came out and some parts were cold. We order the BBQ Soy Noodles and the Lohan Delight.
Ashley
Absolutely Amazing Food - will definitely be back there again. Meat free meals that any meat eater would love. Asian inspired foods, not you typical kind of care. Had a very spiritual sense to it being right by a temple. Definitely an experience that everyone should try!
Charis Beh
The café can get very busy during lunch hours. I ordered lohan delights, and some crispy bread roll. Affordable price and adequate portion.
Michelle Hwang
When I visit the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple in Flat Bush, I must grab some food at this Asian-style veg. cafe. Reasonable price and good service.
Chumq
I'm not a vegetarian and I love my meats to death. My wife took me here one day and and as I saw the menu I was a bit sceptical about reading a menu that had zero meat in it. Needless to say I was shocked and surprised to find that the tofu dishes they make taste like meat.

I've been frequenting this place every now and again and have brought several people for their first time and haven't had anyone complain about the food.

It's is situated in the premises of an elaborate Buddhist temple and you can go for a walk and have a look around after your meal.

Lucille Sia
A healthy option for people like me who loved their meat. You would never believe that the there were no meat on the dishes because they tasted like it and are so good. A beautiful place to explore as well. We enjoyed our order of the chefs choice and wonton noodles. Needles to say it was relatively cheap. Definitely a good place to explore for everyone.
Shauni
Amazing food and a delightful experience! Plus, one of the best vegan meals I've ever had! I had to awkwardly ask the lovely server what their vegan options were and she laughed, telling me I could have pretty much anything (I'm not exactly used to options). After lunch we went for a stroll around and found an art exhibition being held. I wish I'd known about this place sooner, I've been missing out!
Ksh Josh
One of the best vegetarian restaurants I have been to. Excellent ambiance, very nice temple too. The food was great. Its amazing how they make all the meat like dishes using vege stuff like tofu and soya. They taste amazing too. Highly recommended.
Turkish Apple
Very beautiful place and really nice food, all the food are vegetarian and healthy. They also have many healthy tea served in both hot and cold, great place for family and friends :)

My father has vegetarian day each week due to our beliefs and this eatery is always a first choice when we have lunch together on vegetarian day ☺️

I always get the BBQ Pork & Wonton Noodles, my father tends to get the lunch special with three servings of what's on offer for the day.

Let me just say, you should definitely give this place a try if you're ever in the area. Good here is delicious and the temple is beautiful, the staff are all volunteers which is humbling to see. Most importantly the food is really good, the BBQ pork really does resemble real BBQ pork and the noodles are just to die for.

Service of food can be quite slow, I understand that it takes a lot of technique to prepare for these vegetarian dishes, the wait is worth it though!

Will definitely be back, this has become a regular stop for me and dad ☺️ I highly recommend
ShoRt
This restaurant is in a huge temple and is nice and relaxin for those looking for something different. You don't have to be of the religion or a vegetarian to come to this restaurant. They make good soy (their version of meat) and it is very well made as it's not too chewy.

I had the wonton noodle and I might actually want to be vegetarian after this lol. I heard their laksa is good too but will have to be back to try more too.

Ambience is serene and a nice place to take a breather away from the hustle and bustle.
Miss T
Extremely tasty vegetarian food. Fantastic Ambiance and reasonable prices. Only tip is do not go there at the peak of lunch as you may have a hit of a wait. I recommend the rose tea, laksa and bbq pork with dumplings and noodles
Gianina Castro
Food was surprisingly delicious. I do not like veggies yet I loved it. Everything they had is vegetarian but some dishes taste like meat. You won't be able to tell the difference. They had this meal that tasted like Cordon Bleu and it was delicious.

On top of all that it has a really nice atmosphere for lunch, the gift shop and the temple provides things to do before or after lunch.

I have been to Fo Guang Shan many times having come here for lessons every week as a kid, but have never ventured into the cafe. This place is a must visit! The inside of the temple has a gorgeous garden with immaculate plants and grass, giving off a very peaceful and calm kind of zen. The cafe itself is fully vegetarian which was great as my vegetarian friend is an extremely picky eater. We ordered the Deluxe Laksa which was huge as all laksa bowls usually are. The flavour was spot on, the perfect amount of spice, heat, and coconut cream. We also ordered Deep fried G- a type of vegetarian meat that was very more-ish and would make you forget you're not eating meat. The Siu Mai was average, nothing comparable to the real thing, but the Steamed buns were SO fluffy, delicious and soft; again on the same level as the ones in a Yum Char restaurant. The bread was perfect to dunk into the laksa too as it had maximum sponge capacity to soak up all the soup. The serving sizes here are generous, we couldn't finish our meal so we got a couple of boxes to takeaway- you'll feel very satisfied and relaxed afterward! Definitely my favourite vegetarian cafe by far.
JY Park
A lovely vegetarian cafe in the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple.
The smell of incense breezing through the cafe plus the natural interior design created a calming atmosphere. The only downside with regards to the atmosphere was the crowdedness.
I ordered the Laksa Noodle Soup, while my friends ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup and Fried Rice Noodles.
Be warned that the servings are very large. Our meals came out quite quickly, considering the cafe was packed.
My Laksa Noodle Soup was satisfyingly spicy, but a little bit too oily for my tastes. I was delighted by their meat substitutes, as they tasted just as good as meat (if not better). My favourite of the three dishes that we ordered was the Fried Rice Noodles.
Overall, this was a peaceful and lovely experience.
Anup Choudary
Peaceful/Authentic place to have Vegetarian Chinese food. I went to this place for lunch on a rainy weekday and I was happy to taste it's wonton noodle soup and tea. Yummy food and I was able to get a gist of the history of the cafe from the writings on the wall. Though I have never been to china, I could feel the Chinese ambiance from the wooden tables and the Buddhist temple. The service was reasonably on-time with the staff being friendly/calm as well. There were clips of Buddhist monks on tv which made it interesting/positive to waive off the time. The food was really healthy as it was able to cure my cold which I had that day. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is wondering to have Chinese vegetarian food. #PositivePlace #LoveFood
David Parussini
Wow, had a great lunch here today for the first time. Lovely, peaceful ambience being on temple grounds, the tea house with its wooden interior is very cool.
Though not a vegetarian myself, the "BBQ pork wonton noodle soup" I had was very tasty - the "pork" was tofu made to look like pork. My friend had the Laksa which he said he enjoyed.
If you are looking for something completely different, check this place out...
Adeline
This tea house was an absolute surprise! Lovely atmosphere, food was tasty (going vegetarian once in a while is always good and healthy!) and you must try their assortment of teas!

I had the laksa (I suspect one of the chefs is a Malaysian as quite a few menu items were Malaysian-Chinese dishes) and it was relatively tasty.
Donny Chai
I was surprised that there was a tea house that served vegetarian food in this place. The entire facility is a Buddhist temple and it's a free entry (if you like you can add a donation to the box), the whole atmosphere of the tea house itself is really calming and relaxing, along with the wood filled interior which makes it comfortable.

All the food on the menu is made from vegetable products such as beans/tofu etc but the great thing about it is that they present the food as if it looks like real MEAT. e.g. if you order a plate of stir fry beef noodles. You will get a plate of tasty noodles with pieces of brown bits which you would think is beef but it's really not, and it tastes similar to beef also.

In a way this place was fun and very relaxing to be in for lunch. Vegetarian haven!
