Review The Falls Restaurant & Cafe - Auckland Central

1/ A really nice dinner for 2, ordered the surprise menu, wasn’t disappointed, very enjoyable. 2/Post Easter visit for dinner, this eatery deserves your custom, picture tells all. Away from the hustle and bustle of central business district. Highly recommend. 3/Mother day eve, busy Saturday evening, well worth your custom, a very enjoyable dinner. 4/ a shame, this is the last weekend of business for this popular Henderson eatery, until the Trust approves someone to take it on.

Charming place, attentive staff who helped me with my dietary requirements and delicious food. We went for mothers day and had the most delectable high tea. Would reccomend. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there and engaged in conversation with us when we asked questions.

We had a fantastic dinner last night for our anniversary. Food was absolutely delicious, we had the *hey chef feed me" option and every single plate was a tasty surprise. Great value for money as the food quality was outstanding. Jess was super nice too. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely stunning food! Table of six tonight, all had starters, mains and dessert. Not a single person had a bad thing to say. Even were able to cater to dietary requirements. All the food was delicious, and generously portioned. Plus the wine selection was great. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, a West Auckland treasure, we will be back.

I drive past this place almost every day, and every time I think I want to visit it. After 8 months I finally did. The setting is beautiful and relaxed. You get an awesome view out of every window, and the best view if you sit outside. The ladies were attentive. A kind gentleman brought some cushions for me to sit outside. I was disappointed that they don't have cabinet food, apart from scones and muffins. I would have loved a piece of cake to go with my coffee, but had to settle for a muffin, which just isn't quite the same. There is a dessert menu, which is quite expensive (starting at $15), when all you want is a slice of cake. The coffee is fantastic! It's strong and smooth.

Amazing in-house baked Turkish style bread. Fully plant based loaded and it was delicious Hubby had the raw fish dish and he thoroughly enjoyed it Had breakfast here this morning. Food: Hubby had Egg's Benedict with the smoked salmon. I had the vegan breakfast - ciabatta, avocado, rocket, tomato and a potato rosti. Didn't finish the rosti as tasted like yesterday's potato's. Service: Younger wait staff did not follow up on orders. Forgetting coffee orders, sweetener & water requests. We did feedback directly to the manager.

This review needs an update. A couple of years on and The Falls is on my regular lunch rotation. Simply put it's fantastic. Forget running to the cbd for your meal out. Amazing food. Awesome service and a carpark right next door. Do it!

consistently really great coffee, great food, stellar service - an oasis of calm in the middle of Henderson. Definitely the BEST cafe and coffee in/near the town centre - I can never say no to a second cup! The NEW management team have really put their own stamp on the Falls with their Spanish inspired menu. If you haven’t been down yet, you should. Support you new and (vastly) improved local. Can't wait to try the cocktails, high tea service and other offerings on the menu.

Stunning revamped venue with new owners. Food was amazing! A must try new food destination. Everything was full of flavour. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. We were all very impressed! I will be a repeat customer if the food stays this amazing. Had a lovely cheeky cider. My top favourite was the chicken liver parfait, inventive way of using sago. The calamari was delicious as was the prawns. I’m coming back for breakfast and dinner and high tea!

So glad to see they renovated this place. We did go in between Christmas and New Year so the place was quieter. We were surprised with the wait despite the small customer numbers but the food prepared made up for it. The highlight was definitely the eggplant dish. Can't wait to try more.

Got rejected 1+1 gold deal due to weekend. Can someone confirm?

Dont ever eat at The Falls Cafe. A very Disappointing Breakfast.<br/>My family love visiting The Falls café for brekky as a nice relaxing treat.<br/><br/>But today I was blown away by the worst service I have ever experienced and their even worse attitude when questioned about it. <br/>We waited over an hour for our brekkies to arrive during which time another couple waiting had had enough of waiting so walked out. When the food eventually arrived, they were all cold. <br/><br/>We had book during the week so we could use our Groupon vouchers but today they made us feel like 2nd class citizens apparently rationing out the food because they had a full paying big group coming in and we had vouchers so hence we didn’t get the fill meal as they may not have enough food for full paying guests. Thanks! <br/><br/>On leaving we tried to find out what happened as it was shocking service and were told – “well it happens “. <br/><br/>No, I am sorry this is supposed to be a professional establishment and if there was a problem talk to your clients and give them the option to stay or leave.<br/>Management all seemed to hide in the kitchen when we asked for them. So, a waiter attended to us as we left. When told that we probably won’t be back his response was – “Whatever".<br/>No apology nothing. I think new management is required. I definitely do not recommend this café. Unless you want to ruin your day…..

Asked for medium-rare steak, was given medium-well chewy steak but the side salad had a nice dressing and fried were nicely cooked. With the iced mocha and iced chocolate I can almost fully guarantee they used chocolate milk that was frothed (not even blended like they described when asked). French toast described that it came berry compote but came with 2 berries and it was a sloppy mess when presented but the streaky bacon was crunchy so that was nice.

I purchased of Groupon for a breakfast for 4 it says you need to book before hand, it took 2 days of constant calling to get in touch with somebody and was told that there’s no bookings available, so I booked online and got an available table straight away. When we arrived place was empty with plenty of available tables. Wanted to eat outside but there were no chairs only tables. Food was average one piece of bacon for the big breakfast and eggs Benedict, no orange juice available and wasn’t allowed a coke with order even though it says your allowed on the coupon

Very nice place, friendly staff & yummy food..

Went here at 1pm, paid $4.50 for parking for staff member to say they were closed regardless of their signs being out and it stating online they close at 2:30

A group of came for lunch on Sunday, not only was the food terrible but so was the service. It started with not being sure if we had a booking which turned out to be written on a pad, the table wasn't set and ready for us. We ordered and that is the only part of the service that went well. Since when is a Rum and coke served in a stemless wineglass half full with no ice, one of the meals was completely uneatable, all the meals were sadly lacking in vegetables, my steak was served with barely 1/2 a small carrot, 1/4 of a beetroot, 2 tlb of mash and 2 tlb of what could have been silverbeet. The vegetable portion was almost smaller than the steak serving. When the meals came the waiter reached across from the other side of the table to place the food in front of me instead of from behind me. When we asked for dessert we were told they were closing and it was time for us to leave. On paying for our awful meals the waiter tried to charge us for meals we never had, he was totally confused as to how that happened. We didn't need to book as the place was near empty, now we know why. We won't be back and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, in fact the reverse. There was not a lot of "right" about our visit. Staff had no idea what they were doing and I doubt that there was a Chef in the kitchen, more like a home cook! <br/><br/>Unhappy Customer.

Went with friend for lunch and shown zomato gold. The waiters decline to accept as he said management need to sort few thing with Zomato. But why still listed on zomato apps? Should be removed if not honored the zomato

I brought my friend her for her 40th birthday celebration. We had booked for high tea. Service was slow as they had a 5th birthday celebration on. When the high tea arrived it was small and stale. I asked the man if this was everything for the $60. He said yes, this is the standard high tea. Photo of what we received for 60$. He then asked where my voucher was, which I responded, what voucher, I dont have one. Even if i did, this is not what you expect for a high tea experience. Highly disappointed. Photo of what we got minus on sandwich.

Great coffee here. And is set in a very nice quiet place just off the main busy rd. I seen this place many times but never been in before. But I will come back again. Great friendly staff. Thank you very much

We dined here in a group of four. The service wasn't good where the waiter just chucked all the cutleries and serviettes next to us and asked us to sort it out ourselves. Also we ordered 4x prawns dishes as entree and we had different number of prawns on each plate. Also they overcharged us at the end and we had to point it out at the counter before getting the refund. The only good thing about this restaurant is the nice tranquil surrounding.<br/><br/>Service: 2/5 <br/>Environment: 4/5  <br/>Presentation: 3/5  <br/>Food Quality: 3/5  <br/>Food Quantity: 2/5  <br/>Price: 2/5

Came here with two other friends. Real cool set up and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.<br/>Crispy pork belly was super tasty but the winner of the night was the creme brûlée. <br/>Will definitely be back 5/5

We often stop for coffee and they have a lovely courtyard outside, however their food is rather terrible. I had the eggs Benedict with Salmon, and the salmon was rock hard, you could literally tap it on the plate and it made a clanging sound. I can only assume in their endeavour to keep it warm they actually completely dried it out. I would question the ability of any chef who would send salmon out the kitchen door like that.

First and last. Which is a pity, is a beautiful building with a nice view from the big windows, has lots of potential. Had called one day before to add some requisites to my reservation (the website was not 100% useful); no one answered the phone, left a message, but no one called me back. We arrived and our reservation was not ready despite them not being busy at all. Coffee was ok, service was attentive but very slow (they apologised that coffees might take a while, despite only two groups being in the place, can't imagine how they'd survive when busy). No cabinet food, although they offered to prepare something if we wanted, but we had been waiting for coffee so long by then, we didn't request any. The food in the menu was uninspiring and too costly for what it was. I had the chicken pasta and if my dish had five small pieces of chicken is an exaggeration. Unfortunately, 10 minutes after finishing my meal I started feeling a stomachache, spent the rest of my afternoon sick. My friend with whom I had lunch with was the same.<br/><br/>The parking isn't very clear if you need to pay or not, some from my group paid just in case. Parking was more expensive than what they ordered.<br/><br/>As I said, first and last.

Overpriced and disgusting food.<br/>Ordered eggs benny, eggs came out hard and burnt. Advised them of the issue but waiter could not be bothered. <br/>Never again

Decided to check online to see what was available for breakfast at the Falls.  Looked promising so decided what we would have of that and went there this morning.  What a huge disappointment.  The breakfast ordered by my husband was fried eggs on toast with bacon. He received eggs that were overcooked and burnt, as was the bacon. They were accompanied with spinach which was supposed add a bit of dressing to the place.  It just made it look worse.  My big breakfast was not what is advertised online.  The poached egg and tomato were  cooked perfectly but the rest, bacon, sausage was burnt. The mushrooms that was supposed to be there, were hidden in a mass of spinach.  Hadn't been to The Falls for a few years, so was very disappointed that it has changed so much.  Won't be going back

The drinks we had were awesome! Ice chocolate and iced mocha amazing!.... but that’s where is ended. The food was the most AWFUL of any place I’ve been. Presentation was appalling, 2 THIN pancakes were burnt and gooey. Eggs were hard in the middle, burnt toast, potato hash and sausage looked inedible. No effort we’re put into these dishes at all. I will not be returning here ever.

Although the food was rather expensive, and there wasn’t a lot of options, the food that I ordered from the breakfast menu I throughly enjoyed. I had a giant pancake that was cooked perfectly and my father enjoyed a nice big breakfast. This is restaurant is expensive but delicious.

Honestly a pretty big trainwreck when we went. I ordered Thai Chicken Pasta, I was given pasta with mushroom sauce and onions and was told that this was my order. They mixed up our order with another table. Pretty expensive for what you're given. The staff did give us things on the house to acknowledge the mistake. But probably give this place a miss...

Terrible service! We arrived for breakfast and the place was empty. We waited at the counter for at least 5 minutes, rang the bell a couple of times. Someone out the back in the kitchen looked through to us twice but didn't come out. In the end we left as no one came out to serve us.

The main thing for us was that all 4 of us were disappointed with the meal. The meat in all dishes was nicely cooked & tender but that was about it.  The pork Belly had no flavour to it. The skin was limp & flavourless & not crackled. The rest of the meal was just a small bit of mash & such a tiny bit of very simple slaw. For $30 I would expect more flavour & a lot more slaw with more variety of ingredients. By contrast I had been to Mekong Baby a few days earlier where I had a mouth watering pork belly for $28. I will go back there next time. This was really unimaginative & not good value. My husband's steak was the same. Pity as the place is nice in other regards but they need to up their game for this sort of price.

What happened to my second favourite spot in henderson? Menu has changed (shrunk a lot) - I had the omelette (which wasn’t especially good), it came with dry toast and a few salad leaves. It wasn’t even good value. The outside area is still good but the restaurant gardens are looking very unloved. Service was ok but that’s it. Don’t think I’ll be back quite disappointed.

Went there for breakfast on a weekday and it was quiet. We ordered eggs florentine and mushroom bennie. The food took about 15 minutes and they were delicious. <br/>Also a nice area to take a walk after eat.

I went here for breakfast voucher, food was good and I was able to build my own menu from the choices. The tea was a bit light for my liking. Overall their food is delicious as I have been for deffren menus through the day.

A cheating restaurant,we order high tea plates _it has muffin, scone, ham egg club sandwich ,brownie.tea ,$30per person!!!the food are not worth that mush money at all!not come back again

Big breakfast was awesome. Above average portions. Vittoria coffee was nice. The potato rostini was really good...crunchy on the outside. 2 sausages and the slices of bacon were delicious. Sorry no pic as I ate it all before remembering the review. A bit pricier than other Cafe's but was worth it in my opinion. Great atmosphere outside under the sun. Clean and tidy. Friendly staff!

Wasn’t too smitten by this place. The venues very cool though, nice outside area. Only the tables and chairs are a little sad looking it could be really be flashed up a bit. I didn’t like how we had to grab our own menus and water, I really think they should bring to you especially as this is advertised as a restaurant. Menu isn’t too big, brunch menu you had a choice of a big breakfast kind of thing and then eggs bene on potato hot cakes with either bacon, vegetarian (mushrooms) or salmon. I went with salmon. The food took a while to come out even though there were only 2 or 3 other groups there. They then asked if bread was okay in place of the potato hot cakes as they had run out. By 12:30pm? <br/>Food was not bad, kinda pricey for what it was. Smallest amount of spinach on my dish I’ve ever received. The pulled pork tacos were very very good though. Would go back just for them for a lunch dish.

Having a significant birthday so a bunch of us decided to go to The Falls why not been there before enjoyed it. Booked the table weeks in advance confirmed the week of arrive at the restaurant the table is not even set up staff were scrambling some what. <br/>I had requested an outside setting if the day was fine which it was a beautiful day. <br/>The photos on this site need updating the outside does not look like that..the umbrellas are black and small our table did not even have an umbrella other tables were not covered either. There were umbrella poles sticking out of the ground, we watched another patron help an elderly lady down the stairs as there is no wheelchair access<br/>The tables and chairs were grubby even had a rubbish bin right next to the table that WE had to move the toilets were a mess the service was SLOW very very slow<br/>The only good thing the food lovely delicious once we got it<br/>Very very disappointing we won't be back need to make big improvements

This place has a nice setting etc but have been put off last couple years due to the service we received from the manager of night, it started before we got there. We had booked well in advance for our booking for 9 amd we wanted to have the seats which we were given, only for her to ring us and ask if we could move as they have a bigger group that's booked. Of course we said no and yes she was annoyed because the bigger group wanted to sit where we booked for. We got there she realised wow it's islanders booked. From the get go she questioned the prices with us, she even decided hey I'm going check your i.d's, it was a adults night with mum n dad and their kids. We look like fully grown adults - only for her to turn around and say "This is fine dining you should i.d on you all the time" first off we knew that second I didn't see her ask anyone else in the restaurant for i.d. We decided we will order the set menus, food was ok our entree's were better than the rest. Made use of the drink menu. We left with our bill around $1300. Everyone else of the staff were great to us except for the manager, I think she was more shocked we spent that much. We tried to ignore her and enjoy our night, but she spoiled the experience and therefore the reason why we wouldn't go back. And yes we know fine dining, after there we tried Clooney's another night, top notch and great service without judgement.

Had a really good experience here the other night it was a week night therefore wasn’t too busy, staff were lovely I think the lady the kept serving us she was very attentive. Food were above average

<br/>We had high tea. I saw the picture of high tea when I booked by treat me website was looked very nice, so I expected that. But unfortunately high tea was so disappointment. Taste also was really disappointment. <br/>I will never go there.<br/>Only location is great!
Tina Coles
Took my Mum out for 'high tea'... the venue was lovely but the so called high tea was a disappointment to say the least. The scone was heavy and bland, the sandwiches were made in the morning and left out to dry. The muffins were huge so we didn't even try those. Nothing delicate or tasty , looked like they just didn't care. The coffee and the sticky date nice but Sure won't be back
Andrew Morpeth
Service really poor, staff are all over the place disorganised, food slow to come even through not very busy. Food wasn’t too bad, I’d give it an average mark. Considering the setting, they should pick up their game.
Mohit Luthra
British restaurant serviced by a Haryanavi Indian waiter. Those guys are famous to be rude and that's what he was when he served us. I wanted to throw back my coffee in his face. I am never coming back. And I scoff everytime I see those free offers written outside there restaurant.
Rory Duncan Buchanan
Went for a coffee late afternoon today, only a coffee so can't do a proper review but just had to comment as the change in ownership was so obvious. Beautiful clear sky winter day and they'd packed all of the outdoor seating away . Place was dead a woman who may be the new owner made a sideways comment about us arriving at a bad time. Asked for water didn't get it. Waiter had his arse hanging out the back of his jeans. There were workmen there to Do maintenance who were boozing it up before starting their job. Shame because as somebody else already said this should be (and was) the jewel of the west

We've been to this restaurant a few times for breakfast in the past. The coffees have been 90% of the time been excellent. The food and the service have been inconsistent. The wait staff who have been there for a while are great! Sometimes there have been newer staff, who haven't lasted long and seem to have been employed more for their looks then ability. However on Friday morning our most latest trip to the Falls was supberb. The food was brought out promptly and was delicious. The prices were great, with one adult there was a promotion a child could eat for free. We ordered a kid's egg Benedict which was cooked perfectly, my 4 year old son are all this eggs and bacon and the kids pancake stack, was mostly eaten - the ginger mascapone was a tad strong for the kids and also for my taste, but that was just an individual taste, rather than reflection on the cooking, which was done well. Our waiter was lovely and warm and didn't keep us waiting for long. Meals for the kids were affordable at $10 each and the quality was great. On this occasion, i was super happy with food and the service and i hope that they keep this up. The fluffy was a bit expensive at $2 for just some air/fluff tho.

Popped in here for breakfast. Lovely venue. Service was friendly. Ordered the pancake stack and a flat white. Pancakes came out first, my flat white order was missing in action. It came later, and thankfully I wasn't charged. The pancakes were topped with diced watermelon which I found an odd combination. The pancakes were pretty bland. For $17 pancakes, it was a pricey lesson.

This was probably one of the worst dining experiences I have had! I went here for breakfast on Saturday morning with my mum. We were seated, given menus and water. Our order was taken we both decided on the corn fritters. Then the wait began!!!! We waited for about 45 mins until I decided enough is enough I need food and I want to know how much longer I am going to wait. (I am 5 months pregnant so at this stage is was HANGREY!!!) I asked one of the waiters, his response was "I dont know" I asked him to go and find out. A few minutes later a waitress came out and said breakfast was 2 mins away. Again the waiting started!!! After another 10 mins our breakfast finally arrived. We were presented with the saddest looking plate of food I have ever seen. One large flat pale corn fritter, topped with a tiny piece of bacon looked like they had cut a rasher in half and given us half each, one pathetic looking egg and a teaspoon of salsa. I cut into the fritter and as I had suspected it was under cooked. I don't understand how a "chef" could possibly be happy sending out food like that it was disgusting they should be ashamed to have sent something as bad as that out of the kitchen to a customer!!! Needless to say we did not eat the breakfast there was no way I was going to eat that crap and pay $18 a plate for it. When I spoke to the manager he apologized  which I felt was insufficient.  We sat there for about an hour and left hungry we were not told when we were seated that their would be any lengthy wait for breakfast and when the food came out eventually it was inedible. i will not be going back to the Falls ever!!!!!!!!!

Lunch Sunday. Booked but upon arrival the dining room inside was empty so we could sit anywhere. Service was bad. Other diners arrived, were served, got their meals and left before we got our mains. Look the food is average but the cost reflects that. My eggs Royale was eggs Benedict basically. Rosti was good, hollandaise sauce out of a jar I think. Poached eggs awful rubbery whites and the salmon straight out of a packet. The room was cold and we asked for the fire to be lit. Overall I would say go for a cafe style meal that is average quality. And hire or train the staff better. We shouldn't have had to ask where was our meals.
Ron Chatt
The service was abysmal. Started with difficulty booking, then turned up at agreed time 11 a. m. Table not ready.  Moved and cleaned table while we were sitting there. Did not bring cutlery till asked. Brought one bottle of water for two people in party who requested it. Had to ask for water for rest of table. Table next to us had to ask for cutlery after their meal was served and waited for several minutes to get it. It took and hour from walking in to having food served. Food was reasonably good but scallops in seafood platter was overcooked. Food price on the high side of medium. Not very impressed. Would not go back again and neither would other members of the party. Plenty of other places with at least as good food and much better service.
Edi NT
Nicely setup. It is a house-like restaurant and cafe. You can choose outside seating or inside. It is good for group kinda dining or meet-up. Nice beer. Nice athmosphere, when there are more people. Ordered several food, a bit slow to serve. Food quality is a so-so. So far, we dont have any plan to come back.

Thought since it was a nice day hubby and I would head out for lunch. We choose the falls due it's lovely outdoor area and close to home. The scenery is lovely but the service and food was very average. After waiting 15mins for someone to offer us menus or water hubby went looking for service. Nobody seemed to know what they were doing and no sense of order. Drinks came out quick and out two burgers took about 30mins from ordering. The beef burger was ok but the fish burger was tasteless and soggy. Looked like they had used supermarket coleslaw and while the chips were ok just needed a dose of salt the aioli was really just mayo - very bland. We won't go back - $21 for burger and chips is ok if it's a good burger but these weren't and have had much better elsewhere. Also toilets could do with a good clean - sink was disgusting with a large rim of scum around the plug hole and no paper towels or dryer to dry your hand.
Vanessa Morris
Grab one deal for two for high tea. Over all presentation was good. Staff were friendly but hot chocolate was a bit cold and food didn't look as mouth watering as there advertised picture. Overall a nice spot but I was expecting more. I think the Falls could do with a modern revamp of there out door area.

On a rainy Sunday morning we visited the place for breakfast.<br/>The ambiance is good here. The menu is good too.<br/>We ordered Eggs florentine with bacon, eggs florentine with smoked salmon and a bg breakfast. Food were delicious and the nearby nature view made it more enjoyable.<br/>
Barbara Millicent Harvey
What a shame, was looking forward to better, with new management, we were the only diners on a Saturday night! Service patchy, far too long a wait. Food average, BUT no ambience at all, Worst thing, an endless loop on large  screen, a metre away from our table playing someone's wedding at the Falls. I despair,  this place should be the hub of the West, it's historic  beautiful, and has enormous potential, Sadly grossly unfulfilled.
Anne Quaid
We haven't been here for a few years and considering its reputation we were looking forward to our family catch up. However the food was atrocious and extremely slow. We had preordered due to the size of our group but meals still took well over an hour. I ordered the pasta which was literally the stuff you get out of a packet in the supermarket and was greasy. Several of our party ordered various fish and seafood dishes and you could tell it was all frozen packet seafood (very watery and tasteless) and I noticed several of the ladies hardly touched their salads, remarking that they were not good at all. Considering the huge price tag I would strongly warn anyone thinking of going not to.

Lovely heritage building in an attractive setting. Paintings by local artists decorate the walls and the main dining room is light and airy. Wait staff are friendly and courteous. <br/>Unfortunately all four meals were disappointing; three almost cold and one extremely dull and boring and mean looking but was improved with the offer of a green salad. We were also each offered a free coffee and appreciated this gesture. <br/>Prices have increased significantly fairly recently and with this comes an expectation of high quality ingredients, preparation and presentation.
Cherie
Nice restaurant, it's a very old large house. Nice outdoor area on a warm day. The entrees and mains were really nice (4/5) but the food took a really long time to come out hence the rating. The dessert took exceptionally long to be served and was not worth waiting for. Very plain and small. My apple crumble was diced apple with a small spoon of crumble hidden underneath. I would return for the entrees and mains and allow plenty of time..
Babygirl88
I have mixed reviews about this place as I have only dined here for the first time based on a work function which they catered for 80 odd guests. We had pre set menus. I had tuna for the entree, this was over done. Next lamb for the main, again over done and very tough. Chocolate torte for dessert was lovely.<br/>Portion size was the biggest let down, the tuna had a slice with salad and a drizzle of sauce.<br/>The lamb had 2 slices with undercooked pieces of pumpkin and salad again drizzle of sauce. I lefted feeling hungry and underwhelmed. I was expecting above average of quality, everything else was exemptional, but clearly the chef or chef's were definitely not up to these standards. A real shame, was a lovely evening, But the food was a real let down. I'm unsure if I would consider dining here again, especially at my own cost. High end cost for not so high end quality of food.

Thought we would trek out west for the day to have lunch. Visited the Falls Restaurant, which is a lovely standalone heritage building next to a large open space area. Was pretty quiet, but had a nice pleasant spot by the window which was nice, with lots of natural lighting.<br/>Food was alright - nothing particularly special. I had a meatball sandwich, the roll was dry and seemed like it had been bought at Countdown or something.<br/>The pulled pork roll that my partner had was really good though, so perhaps their menu items might be a bit hit or miss.<br/>Service was okay, the server seemed a bit robotic.<br/>It's a shame, because the location and venue is wonderful!

Over the years I have been to The Falls a number of times when I have visited Auckland & have always found the food very good but was very disappointed when my cousins & I went there for lunch today.<br/>They seemed very short staffed - with just one waitress on duty, apparently the deep frier wasn't working but we were only told this when placing our orders.<br/>We noticed tables hadn't been cleared (those same tables still hadn't been cleared as we left) & there was no toilet paper in the woman's toilets.<br/>When the food eventually came out (about an hour later) it certainly wasn't value for money.<br/>The beef burger was very dry & lacked seasoning & the less said about the garlic bread the better.<br/>As we settled the bill I asked the waitress if the restaurant had changed hands recently & she said it had a few months ago.<br/>Surely the new management would have ironed out the problems by now - the manager came over & gave us a discount.<br/>Sadly it was little too late - the new management really need to lift there game.<br/>Coming from Melbourne & working in media I'm used to the best restaurants & cafes & I certainly won't be returning sadly.<br/>It's a pity the restaurant fails to match the gorgeous surroundings - sadly falling well short.<br/>

I gave this rating after considered the food, service and atmosphere all together. It's established at a historical location so it's beautiful already. A wonderful place for weddings, birthday parties and celebrations in general. The service was great and professional. I won't give the food 5/5, but some dishes are outstanding (e.g. breakfasts and steak). It pays to ask your server detailed questions such as how's the ingredients will be cooked together, if unsure of whether you will like it (like sauces) just ask to serve separately. Good drink selection as well.

A bit of a mixed review... Fantastic food! But sadly terrible service, was ridiculously slow to even get a glass of wine! A shame to see such expensive prices for small meals and a B food grade. Toilet also leaking water all over the floor and restaurant was freezing. Pleasant evening but wouldn't return.

More for events than your casual lunch spot, our group of volunteers had just finished our work and we were all in a hungry mood.<br/><br/>We ordered some steaks, a middle eastern breakfast, duck patte, and Ulster Breakfest.<br/><br/>I wouldn't really recommend this place, the restaurant is confusing itself by trying to serve fine dining food and prices, but with lousy taste and quality.<br/><br/>Didn't enjoy my experience here at all and the waitresses weren't really switched on either.<br/><br/>Showstopper: The Ulster breakfast will fill you but it's at the pricier end.<br/><br/>Overall Grade: B-

This place is average. Absolutely no effort to accommodate even simple requests. Food only ok. Very nice surrounding but a little effort would have complimented it well. <br/><br/>

My family and I visited The Falls for our family Christmas celebration. I walked in to a lovely place with beautiful lookouts and different areas where you can dine. Either indoor or outdoor. Tables were set in distance so you are not very close to other diners and you can have your own privacy. Very impressed with the table setting also. The staff were lovely and very efficient. Ours meals were amazing! I enjoyed the roast duck for my entree, roast pork loin with crackling on top - very well presented! My dessert was lovely too. Went for a lovely walk afterwards to walk off my lunch and really enjoyed the garden - you can celebrate special occasions like weddings also with a lovely garden setting. I must visit The Falls again for lunch or dinner sometime on a day to try out their menu - (not on Christmas day) to see what The Falls have for their customers.

The one and only time I have been here, I had a blast! Our waiter was very nice and friendly and made you feel as if you were a friend rather than just a diner. Very nice and intimate space that we were in, made me feel very relaxed. The waiter also was very helpful in helping me pick a wine which I was very grateful for. Prices are reasonable and the food was amazing! I will certainly be coming back for more!

A regular with my family and always worth a visit. A beautiful old house with a lovely main dining area looking out onto a soothing green landscape. <br/>The service is good and this is where my favourite coffee comes from. Always have to have one with brunch and one to take away with me!<br/>Favourite dish is lambs fry and bacon but I know offal isn't to everyone's taste. The staple brunch menu is here and everything is really well executed. My son loves the French toast and although is always planning on trying something new, he always orders it , can't beat perfection!<br/>

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: For a city with a young history, it was refreshing to eat in a place with a sense history and old school charm. We ate in the conservatory which was well lit and had a clear view of the adjoining park. <br/><br/>FOOD: on a work lunch break, I had the seafood chowder and was impressed with the smooth texture and generous amount of fish, prawns and mussels. Perhaps a wedge of lemon or a sprinkle of fresh herbs would really bring it to life. The accompanying piece of bread had too much garlic butter and only really needs a thin layer. <br/><br/>COFFEE: nice and smooth. <br/><br/>SERVICE: friendly and quick to serve. The food did seem to take a while to come out but didn't detract too much from the experience. <br/><br/>To me this restaurant serves solid kiwi food with the building gives it plenty of character and a point of difference in a gradually changing West Auckland.

Came here for $10 breakfast, it was worth it. Breakfast was delicious and delivered a great portion and service was nice too. Had a nice time here with my friends. Will come back again.

We came to The Falls for my mum's birthday tonight. Our first choice in restaurant was entirely booked out so we decided to eat somewhere closer to home. I called up and made a reservation at The Falls for 6.30pm and when we got there, we pressed the bell and waited for about thirty seconds until someone came down the stairs to greet us. He was lovely though! There was a $15 main meal promotion tonight so we thought we would take advantage of this deal and also get some entrees and desserts. <br/><br/>There was only one other occupied table out in the conservatory, and by the time we left only one other group of people came in. I was quite surprised at how quiet the restaurant was on a Thursday night considering how busy the other restaurant was. <br/><br/>For our entrees we ordered the mussel chowder and porcini gnocchi. The mussel chowder wasn't too bad but the bread it came with was a little bit too oily with butter. The gnocchi was special. I liked the gnocchi itself but I didn't like the rest of the dish with the peas and other vegetables. For our main course, we ordered two of the sirloin steaks and a pan fried chicken with chips for our main meals. We definitely expected these to be "main meal" portions but they were a lot smaller when they came out. Dad was definitely not full and even after eating half of mum's steak as well. My chicken was downed in about four bites. I feel as though the portion sizes of the $15 meals would be good for lunch, but even then need to be slightly bigger. <br/><br/>I ordered the passion fruit panna cotta for dessert. I have to give them points for presentation because it was presented beautifully. It came with two little round shortbread cookies and caramelized sugar and another biscuit thing around the panna cotta. The actual panna cotta was too solid. Previous pannacottas that I've had were bouncy and delicious. This one I felt was made with a little too much gelatin and it was too hard. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. <br/><br/>The restaurant itself is situated inside what looks like a historical building. I would love to see the rest of the building some day as I know that many functions are held here! <br/><br/>Though the food wasn't great, the service was really good. The wait staff were so lovely and were also attentive and came over to check on how our meals were as well. I'd like to come back during the day for coffee and breakfast and make another judgement then!

Love the range of high quality delicious dishes, I recommend the pate and the chicken nicoise salad. My friends and I enjoy this restaurant very much.

Went to this lovely little place for brunch on a Thursday morning, prompt and super friendly service, amazing coffee and we had eggs Florentine and the mushrooms. Mushrooms could've been better seasoned but overall great food! Definitely worth a visit!

I have been to The Falls recently for brunch. The food was good. However, when I asked if I could substitute a piece of bread for bacon I was told the bacon was too expensive! The service was terrible which was a surprise as there was hardly anyone else in there!! I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and booked to take my husband there for his birthday this week. I rang them and asked if I could drop of a birthday cake. I was told that it was a $25 charge, their reasoning being that we wouldn't eat dessert if we had cake. I decided to go ahead as I had worked hard on the cake. Anyway, after I had dropped it round I was called by the restaurant manager to say that they don't "do" birthday cakes. Funny I said, as they now had my cake in their fridge. I was promptly told that they only let big groups who "spend thousands of dollars" to bring cakes in. I argued that I was paying them for the privilege, still I was told that it's their policy. I wouldn't eat here again, previous poor service and rude manager put this restaurant at the bottom of my list. It's a shame as its in a good position for west auckland, but I'd rather stay at home than be treated like that.

Today we visited the Falls for breakfast. <br/><br/>The staff are friendly enough, and kept us updated with our meals. It only had a few other people in this morning which was a surprise for a Sunday. <br/><br/>We had two rounds of coffees all very nice. We got the lambs fry with bacon, ham and onion omelette, Ulster Grill and French toast with creme brûlée. All the meals were delicious, full of flavour and well seasoned. The lambs fry is so rich it's difficult to finish. <br/><br/>Well presented place, however some more heating would have been nice. There is a private room available to book and you can reserve tables in the main dining area. There are sweet treats available however they are a bit hidden. They also have $10 breakfast selection.<br/><br/>Overall a lovely place for breakie, we shall visit again.

Fantastic coffee! Usually friendly service + great scenery. However, having been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner I can say that the food is average.

Three of us went to The Falls Restaurant, a popular spot for us and usually not disappointing.  However, they have changed their service of tables outstide so you have to order from the counter and pay as you go which is inconvenient when you don't know how much you want to drink or eat.  <br/><br/>Beware if you have an Entertainment Card - 3 diners ordered 3 main meals, 2 @ $26.50 and 1 @ $29.80 together with a pate board to share @ $16.00.  They discounted the pate which is totally in breach of the E Book rules.  When queried the staff said that it was a main meal.  I then asked for it to be removed and to discount 1 of the $26.50 meals which they did.  <br/><br/>Usually the food and service is good - drinks took 30 mins and arrived after the main meals.  My main meal had a hair in it.  The other mains were up to their usual good standard.   And because of this we ordered dessert.  Bad mistake it took another 35 minutes for it to be served.<br/><br/>Unfortunately we won't be back due to the bad service.
Andrew M
Food is ok, Service is an absolute joke. Unless you call waiting for 2.5 hours for mains acceptable.. everytime we asked where they were we got told it was coming out now.<br/><br/>When confronted with how bad their service was they got quite abusive.<br/><br/>Would not go back if it was the last restaurant on earth

Lovely old heritage building but the breakfast food was plain for what we paid. On the upside my friend took me to lunch one time and the food was sublime. Every mouthful savoured and enjoyed. Our lunch was better than breakfast...the coffee was awful for brekkie but the wine list, fantastic.

Had the worst dining experience me and my wife have ever had.20 min wait to get served then another 20 until our coffee arrived. The mushrooms on toast physically made me spew up, was not creamy just butter, mushroom with no seasoning and her French toast was disgusting and was more scrambled eggs than toast. We also complained on their Facebook page about it which they deleted and then banned us from it. Disgusting the way we were treated. Wish I could give you a - 10 as a posed to a 1/10.
Petra
Food was great, spot is beautiful, waitress was attentive and polite but unfortunately the girls behind the bar and their lack of service ruined the experience. They were rude and unhelpful and half way through us placing our order decided it was a good time to have a chat amongst each other while we waited for them to finish.
Jen
I had brunch here with a friend after originally planning to try Finch Cafe which was still closed for the holidays so this was our next best option as not many good cafes in the area! I was impressed with the service and the food. I had scrambled eggs and bacon (they advised it was free range) which came on yummy bread that was like having it with garlic bread. Very tasty and all cooked to perfection. My chai latte was also delicious. Nice surroundings too!

The Falls has always been something special to us.So much so that 5 years ago we chose it as the venue for our wedding reception. It was with disapointment we visited again recently. No complaints about the service which was prompt and freindly. But something is missing The glass of wine ordered with dinner should have been nice but the bottle had been open quite some time and the wine had gone vinagary. The food was presented well but taste wise just wasn't up to it. Price wise its central auckland type prices but just not up to it quality wise. As an evening venue it is very much an adult eaterie. Something just isn't quite right.-the passion has gone from the food and the place -which is pretty sad

The worst customer service ever experienced. Abusive, surly staff member named Michelle ruined our lunch. She became abusive when we closed a door because we were getting a draft and dust and cigarette smoke was blowing in. She continued to open the door despite our discomfort. She stormed off after her tirade so i approached the counter to let her know that we thought she was rude but she continued to argue and dismissed me by shooing me away with her hand. She then proceeded to sneer and make comment when she passed our table. The most bizarre behaviour ever experienced in a restaurant. The manager Garry was no better, he approached us on leaving and said in a very unfriendly manner, what's your problem. When I described my experience he wasn't really interested. I posted a review on their facebook page and he responded by basically saying it was our own fault if we didnt enjoy the experience, all we did was close a door and then ask a waitress if it could be closed after it was opened again. I wholly recommend people read the feedback postings on their facebook before considering eating there. Rudeness and bizarre behaviour appear to be a common experience for people. Never again

I decided to take my young son out here for a little breakfast, just the two of us.  We had to park in the West Wave parking lot and walk over as they don't have parking that is free around them.  <br/><br/>It was good to see that they had a $10 breakfast so I was quite happy as a lot of places can be close to double that.  We got there quite early and we were the only people seated in the restaurant, which I would have thought would mean we wouldn't have to wait too long, but that was not the case.  We didn't get served for about 10-15 minutes so we just kinda sat there while I tried to keep my son entertained.  When we finally ordered the restaurant was starting to slowly fill up and I thought well, at least we got our order in before anyone else so it shouldn't be a long wait.  But it took forever to get the dishes as well!  I don't know what was taking so long since I did see a few staff on hand so wasn't sure what the delay was.<br/><br/>For the price I would say it's not a bad deal, but I would recommend this if you don't have anywhere to be but maybe it was an off day?  Food was average and they have a kids menu which is also very reasonably priced.
Matt
Fantastic food full of flavour and variety, good sized portion that will fill you up and leave you satisfied! Topped off by service with a smile!<br/>
Don&#039;s Food Fiesta
Went for the $10 breakie. There are 4 things to choose from so we got the bacon and eggs on top of some lovely grilled ciabatta bread. You get what you pay for in regards to the size of the dish and the wait was a lil over 30 minutes after ordering. Bit disappointed although the coffee was superb

Great quality and consistently good service. My go to in henderson.

I attended a function this evening at The Falls Restaurant - amazing service from a troupe of beautifully groomed young staff - polite professional focused - excellent customer service and delicious canapés.

Booked a table for Mother's Day Brunch, what a huge disappointment, where to start, cold food and coffees, small big breakfasts, panicky staff trying to hurry us up when we were there less than an hour, unable to order our eggs scrambled eggs, mistakes on menu or unable to order certain items listed on the menu, mistakes on bill. We were told this was one of the busiest days of the year but the restaurant was only half full. I have been to your establishment on a normal weekend and the service was 100% better, based on this experience my group will never go back. I don’t understand how your service degraded so much just because it was Mother’s Day, it really needs to be addressed.
Lucy
Came in for Mother's Day brunch and left very dissapointed; food was luke warm to cold, different menu to website, overcharged on items, felt rushed by wait staff, small meals, poor experience and will not be back.

I have been here countless times for breakfast, lunch, dinner and a coffee a snack at any time of day. This has to be my absolute favourite restaurant in Henderson - I love this place.<br/><br/>It is definitely on the more expensive side, especially for West Auckland - but it is totally worth it. Polite and attentive staff, delicious food and in a great setting - I cannot rave about this place enough.<br/><br/>My favourite dish has to be their French toast with crème brûlée sauce - incredible! And the best coffee around for sure.<br/><br/>Was here again over the weekend for a coffee and a light snack (I had bread and dips) and it was simply delicious. Always clean and tidy, and the staff are always friendly - have never had a bad experience.

Welcoming atmosphere from staff and comfortable surroundings with that familiar, local community getting together feeling. The pate was creamy and rich, a real treat, hard to find this dish done so as well as The Falls. Chicken - free range moist, delicious and tastes like it used to, you can taste the difference. Gratin potatoes divine. Dessert - sticky date can't beat it, choices amazing, pudding taken seriously here.

The lady and I were very disappointed after having lunch last Sunday. I should point out we have both had lunch here before and myself dinner. We had found The Falls a reasonably good place to eat though it is probably slightly over priced. Arriving for a late lunch on Sunday we waited for almost 20 minutes for the waiter to bring us a menu but were completely ignored. I should point out they were not busy. Finally we had to get our own. A waitress eventually came and got our order. When the coffee came it was almost cold....the second got better but still not what it should have been. The food was fine. Looking at the reviews poor service appears to be a recurring theme...'hit and miss' as someone said. We won't be back because of the poor service which is a shame as The Falls has one of the best outdoor areas in West Auckland.
Zoltan Szeman
Delicious meal, helpful and professional staff, reasonable prices, nice environment so what else to say? The only slight issue - and I emphasize the word slight - I could imagine a bit more veggies on my plate along with the potato.

We had to go to Auckland recently and went out west to visit friends. We decided to have dinner at The Falls, what a lovely old building and beautiful park. <br/>We were warmly greeted and the food was excellent our friends said they have always had a good experience there and we certainly enjoyed everything
Clive Tomkins
We went for a meal last week and really enjoyed it. Service has been a bit 'hit and miss' sometimes especially if they are busy but the food is always good. There were a few new faces in the staff when we went, and it was excellent, looking forward to our next visit
Wai
First of all the surroundings are absolutely fantastic, not many restaurants can boast such a peaceful setting. Then the service, I can see there are some new servers but very accommodating and friendly. Next great coffee a girl with sparkly eye makeup makes you feel a special effort is being made and well made coffee, I had the macchiato sooo very good (so I also had the ice coffee after eating for my dessert). The lunch time meal the NZ Chowder OMG none better. Thank you, it is lucky to have a local restaurant of such a high caliber

Second time you have been to The Falls Restaurant, once for lunch once for dinner.<br/><br/>Lunch was very poor, same old same old menu we see a lot around. Very expensive for its quality of food.<br/><br/>So we were disappointed with lunch, but we said, let's give dinner a chance... Well, not very good either!!!!<br/><br/>Even more expensive then lunch, small meal. On the menu states that all meals are served with vegetables.. Well, it is however the veggies on my plate were 2 green beans and 2 very small bits of broccoli.<br/><br/>I guess the number of people at the restaurant says for it self, including us there were less then 15 people there.....<br/><br/>The service, although some say it's good, I hate, the waitress asked us how our meal was at least 5 times. 3 of them while we were still eating. Just leave costumer alone when their eating...... I guess it's because there isn't much to do so they are trying to keep busy but I would rather not having someone coming to my table that many times. As I said, some may think this is great service.<br/><br/>Resuming. Very expensive for what you get so I would most likely not return!
John Davis
Despite the beautiful setting and lovely building, every time I go to The Falls (which has been about four times through convenience) I have had such great expectations but left feeling ripped off (if you know that feeling after a disappointing meal).<br/><br/>Basically the food is very poor for the prices that they charge. They charge Mission Bay/Parnell/Ponsonby prices but you get Henderson quality. Really, save yourself the anguish and just drive down the motorway to the city for a good feed.
Zahn Bester
Our work group booked a Christmas function. The food was delicious- albeit a tad pricey, and the venue is lovely. The only fly in the soup was the blonde waitress on duty that day. She seemed quite angry taking our drink orders, and thoroughly displeased by our presence. Her tone was snippy and impatient - quite frankly just openly rude. The male waiter was excellent; really organized with actual customer service skills. I'm not sure we will be returning for our next Christmas function, as most of our group were too afraid to order coffees in fear of being singed by the waitress' fiery glare.
Reon Barnfield
Went for dinner Saturday night, the food was great and the service amazing.. Even one of the chefs asked us how our meal was and thanked us on the way out, came here a few years ago didn't think much of it but had a great experience this time, we will be coming back here for sure.
Olivia James
Very disappointed. Went here a year ago and loved it, but will not be back after today's visit :( Service was very slow, had to ask 3 times for the kids drinks, the coffee was gross and cold and I was left waiting for 15mins longer than the others at the table for mine. Food was poor, cold and one of the dips on my plate tasted rancid. The waitress was useless and kept saying "sorry" but didn't try to help. When my mother in law complained they took the coffees off the bill, but the damage was done unfortunately.

Weve been on a number of occasions. It rates between average to very good. Sometimes service can be hit and miss.

I certainly agree that The Falls has a top-notch barista. After our walk alongside Henderson Creek today, we stopped at The Falls cafe for our usual refreshment and we were not disappointed - a great coffee!!! It was very relaxing sitting outside under the umbrella in the courtyard as we received excellent service from the attentive staff.

Always good, haven't had a bad experience here. Friendly and attentive staff. Nice spacious building and grounds. Good sized meals and great coffee.

I have visited The Falls Restaurant over the years and what I love is the care and attention to details.<br/>Today I noticed the owner blowing the leaves off the pathway not only to make the place look tidy but safety for the customer, as they are so slippery to walk on. <br/>I had the seafood chowder…(nearly better than my own) just right for a windy winter day , with fresh bread, warmed and buttered and to finish a gorgeous rose and vanilla tea (you gotta try it).<br/>Awesome you guys…and thanks, what a great place to be.

I attended a sixtieth wedding anniversary celebration on Sunday at The Falls Henderson. This heritage hotel a gracious beautifully restored old lady set in park like surroundings in the heart of Henderson couldn't be a better place for such an occasion. We were seated in the conservatory dining room bathed in warmth and sunshine with Bi folds open to the verdant grounds outside. Tanya Front of House greeted us and we were taken to our places by friendly, efficient and immaculately attired young staff. Their table service was of the highest standard, no request was to much trouble. <br/> The food was excellent, for Starters we had a selection of breads and dips with wine of choice and fruit juices for all tastes. This was followed by an outstanding main course of either Pan Fried Salmon ( The Dour Scotsman, my companion gave this a major high five and will be looking for this again on the menu) or Crispy skinned chicken, which I had and found to be succulent and bursting with flavour. These were each accompanied by a bed of Baby Beet leaves, Salad Sprouts and crunchy emerald green Broccoli, with a beautiful potato Gratin.<br/> Dessert was a visual delight, served on long white platters. There were bite sized Eclairs, Fruit Kebabs, mini lemon tartlets, squares of Chocolate mud cake and swirled meringues. The sweet toothed among us soon made short work of all on offer, ( no dinner needed that night) <br/> Good food, beautiful surroundings, great staff, and music provided by Manuel, combined to give all who attended a most pleasing afternoon. Summing up I would have no hesitation in recommending The falls to anyone considering finding a most pleasant venue to suit almost any occasion. <br/> Susie G.

I took my elderly mother to the Falls for Mother's Day I have never experienced such a shambolic mess of service in all my years of restaurant eating. I arrived at the time of my booking, the restaurant was not full. Upon being seated the waitress left us without menus or even water. After 20 Miss I asked another waiter if we could have menus. These turned up and then again after 10 mins I asked another waitress if I could order. I was told that they were doing brunch orders still and that I couldn't order lunch yet. She then asked if I had booked a table and then insinuated that I was too early for lunch. I then pointed out it was 12:15 she told me that anything from the main menu would take at least 45 mins. The food did come out promptly and was ok not special but ok. The rest of the service was the same having to ask for service knot once being offered it empty plates left on the tables etc. the whole meal of two entrées and one desert took 1 hour and 45 mins and was a very unenjoyable experience<br/>The staff need to start working like a team not a weird bunch of people not communicating at all. I will not be eating at the Falls again

I went to the Falls for lunch with a very good friend. I have to say that it was the most enjoyable lunch I have had in a very long time. the setting was lovely out in the courtyard. The Service was very friendly, and the food was to die for, beyond exceptional. My compliments to the Chef and staff for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I will certainly be going back again.

We have been to the falls many times and have always had a great experience. from the food right through to the venue...<br/>Ive had breaky and lunch there. I recomment this as a nice quiet spot to visit in the middle of the bustle of Henderson.<br/>Great coffee also....

My friends and I were so impressed with the Falls Restaurant during our November 2012 ladies' get-together that I decided to rebook this year for a mid-winter Christmas lunch. Yet again we were treated to exceptional service, great food and a gorgeous venue. The communication and organisation, prior to the event, was faultless especially given that 14 of us attended. One of the ladies has been in the hospitality industry for some years and was so impressed with the overall experience that she is booking the venue for her partner's 50th birthday. I really appreciate all the effort Tanya and her staff put into our get-together. Again, very friendly and welcoming whilst still maintaining that professional edge which is so rare in the NZ hospitality industry. So, thank you Tanya for making our experience so memorable. We will be back.

Along with a number of other invited health professionals I attended a training session at The Falls last night which had been hired by the organisers. <br/>On arrival I was advised by the organisers, my 6 year old couldn't attend the lecture part of the programme. I was prepared to leave however one of the staff suggested my little one sit at a table which allowed her and the staff full view of each other, and for me to view her from inside the lecture space. This amazing staff member organised coloured pencils and colouring in sheets, spoke kindly to my little one, took her to the toilet (while I was in lecture) and even made up a parcel of left over sweets from the dessert menu for her to take home.<br/> Full marks to that staff member who had a full restaurant to cope with and all it entails and she still initiated a courteous, genuine and thoughtful extra service for my little one and me. Oh yeah the food was great too! Thank you very much to The Falls staff and especially that lovely woman.

My wife and I went to The Falls for our tenth wedding anniversary last night. After having read a few of the reviews saying the service wasn't up to scratch we were a bit nervous. However, our server for the evening was a gentleman called Mike and he was amazing. He new everything about the food, including the specials and was just an example of the perfect waiter. <br/><br/>We found the food to be great as well. As a starter we had the bread with dips and we both took the special of the day, which was a rib eye steak with blue cheese sauce. My wife is not a big meat eater, but she finished the whole thing! Huge complement to the chef. We asked them to wait a bit before serving the desserts and they came out exactly at the right time. We had the gelato and the panna cotta for dessert, which were amazing as well. <br/><br/>Overall just a great experience and very pleased to have such a great restaurant in Henderson (we recently moved to Henderson Valley from the city centre).
Stephanie
Went here for lunch with colleagues and we were all very impressed with our meals. The service was attentive and friendly. Free parking to the side of the restaurant. Very good wine list. Nice to find a good local restaurant.
Steph
I wasn't very impressed with our service last night a dinner, we arrived ahead of our booking and were seated without delay, the waitress promptly told us that we would not be served until the other tables meals had gone through but she would try to get to our table before our booking time which was 7.30. I found this very rude however I probably would have minded if she had offered us drinks (which she didn't). We waited for 40 minutes for our waitress to return, watching as a table was seated and orders were taken. After another 5 minutes (making a comment very loudly about mystery shoppers) another waiter (who I think overheard me) finally came over and seemed very startled and took our entire order. <br/>We had a complementary dish, then our garlic loaf, 5 minutes after getting our garlic loaf our meals came out (we didn't even get to finish our entree). As a waitress myself, I know how hard it can be when you are rushed off your feet but it does not take 45 minutes to come over and take a drink order, or even to take a meal order for that matter and if it was my restaurant my manager would have yelled at me, as it is not good customer service to keep someone waiting without even drinks!. There was nothing wrong with our meals they were amazing, but I was appalled at the service. As a customer I felt unwanted and not appreciated and if my partner and I hadn't had a voucher we would have left. Overall a very bad experience :(

It was a cold, wet and miserable night but the resturant itself exuded warmth. A lovely atmosphere with starched white tablecloths and quality cutlery (the salt and pepper shakers were a bit past their use-by date but that did not detract from the overall ambience)<br/><br/>Friendly and knowledgeable wait staff coped well with a full house. The menu was reasonably priced and varied with some interesting specials. A complimentary taster was most welcome<br/><br/>Good selection of wine by the glass. The pate was almost too generous in size and delicious. My friend's fish was outstanding. My duck was good although a little more crispiness of the skin would have been welcome<br/><br/>I wish I had had room for dessert as the menu was very tempting. Next time!

Went to The Falls for a birthday dinner. Absolutely fabulous, great service, nice atmosphere and the food was to die for. Couldn't fault anything. Had seafood chowder, was different to what I expected but sooo nice. The pork belly melted in my mouth. They even made the birthday cake! It was a cold and rainy night but so warm and cosy inside. Will definitely like to go back again. Yum Yum Yum!

Went for Brunch Last Saturday. A little disappointed with the menu. There was only one item on the menu that wasn't eggs. (wife has alergy to eggs). Luckily that one item was something she liked.<br/>Apart from that the food was excellent. Good service and and atmosphere (outside).

I've had some mixed experiences at this restaurant. Love the heritage building and the presentation is very classy. Their hand cut chips are lovely yet I've had a tomato soup that was extremely salty I could not finish it. I've also tried coming here for dinner but perhaps it was just me but the waitress seemed very snobby to me to just turn up without a reservation although I would think just a quick dinner or coffee after work would do but it was like they didn't even want to serve us. Was it because we didn't dress up or we looked asian? Its a bit pricy too. Perhaps its just one of those restaurants for the winey-diny set.

I don't usually complain at restaurants but this was an exception. The worst dining experience we have had in a long time. Kids waited over an hour to get their food, and when it finally came, it was 2 measly little bits of grilled chicken when they ordered crumbed, 6, yes 6 chips and a bowl of lettuce!!! We said that they ordered crumbed so they went away and when the chicken finally arrived the kids had already finished there dessert! The mains we ordered were very average and lacking any substance and the manager protested that it didn't take as long as we said. Very poor service and over-priced. Will definitely NOT be going back...

We have been here a couple of times - once for breakfast and once for dinner. It's a bit of a hidden gem - wonderful old heritage building with a nice olde worlde feel. Service is friendly, food is fine and reasonably priced, and the different dining areas make for intimate spaces - we liked the way they thoughfully put the "tables for two" together and the "family" tables in another area, so we weren't subjected to Other People's Children during our night out. The walls could have done with a few paintings or prints - a bit bare, but otherwise fine. Take some coin for the adjacent carpark area - surprisingly they charge 24/7, even here in the 'burbs.

I am just back from The Falls again. The food was exceptional, the sea food chowder was rich and intense. <br/>The Creme brule' OMG! It was to die for!

Me and my husband went there for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Excellent food, warm and friendly service. They managed to book us in even at short notice. The presentation of the food is as wonderful as the taste. Good, romantic place for those special evenings, as they even have a beautiful walkway outside.

This restaurant is a cozy little cafe` styled building, with friendly and welcoming staff.<br/><br/>The food was quick to be delivered and was presented well. The ciabatta bread was fresh and melted when combined with the creamy eggs. The bacon had a lovely cured flavor, similar to pancetta, was crisp and an absolute treat that left a very satisfying taste in my mouth.<br/><br/>Don't let the fact that this restaurant is situated out west, this is certainly somewhere I would suggest visiting.
