Great authentic Malaysian restaurant. Good service and nice flavours. This is a favourite for lunch. Well worth dropping in for a look.

Very delicious and authentic KL style Fish Head soup bihun, the fried fish is succulent inside, crispy outside, very big portion, even comes with chili padi soy sauce. Perfect! Good service!

Conveniently located next to Countdown. Food are good. Service is friendly. Laska and Nasi Lemak are our favorites. Get groceries. Get Malaysian takeaways. Another local business worth supporting!

First time here & I must say the food is delicious, tasty & authentic, the flavour with every dish was amazing & the vegetables were fresh, the wait time was not long at all, malaysian cuisine at its finest, will definitely be returning!!

Our 'local' for work colleagues, one of which is from Singapore and rates this place very highly (hokkein mee = just about perfect, apparently). Simple decor but always friendly and prompt service, great prices, and possibly the best char kwey teow I've ever had, including eaten in Singapore. Laksa and chicken curry roti canai very very good too.

We tried the lunch menu. It was very good. Very authentic Malaysian food. We find it taste better than madam Woo found in Hamilton and half the price of madam Woo.

Not bad! Most of the food is delicious with good flavour, however some items (such as hokien fried noodles) are super bland. Staff are attentive and friendly. :)

Great char kway teow I stopped in on a Saturday night to get takeaway and was disturbed to find the restaurant totally empty! Anyway, the service was very good - my order of char kway teow was ready in a matter of minutes and it was excellent - with really good authentic Malaysian flavours!

Being a huge fan of Asian food I went there with high hopes. I ordered Kung pao prawns. Which I was hoping would be steaming spicy. But in fact the curry was very sweet.

Hainanese chicken rice is really good here. Best place to get tea tarik as well

Been here three times now, the restaurant is always empty every time came so service is always fast and friendly. Overall food is yum with a few that I would rated just average.

First time I went here today. Order given and order was repeated to us. Waited for 45 minutes only to be told they can’t find our order. No reviews for food as weren’t even served any. Ended up leaving hungry as lunch break was already over.

Good little place to enjoy Malaysian food. The taste not really authentic but tasty. I usually ordered their hainan chicken rice, mee goreng, curry noodle and kuai tiao goreng... two female staffs at dinner time are super friendly. Will definite return to try more foods.

Had fish head noodle soup - soup was good but the fish pieces were small & few, small portion relative to the price. Ikan bakar - a grilled whole flounder served with very good sauce, mild spicy & very tasty.

I got the nasi goreng and there is plenty of it served on a plate. The nasi goreng here contains chicken, tofu, seafood (one big prawn and fish balls) and tomato etc. It was yum but nothing extraordinary. The place was almost full at lunchtime on a rainy day, handy spot for shoppers who get hungry after their visit st Countdown as it is located next to the carpark. The staff are attentive and quick to serve dishes once it is ready from the kitchen.

Love this place for a quick work lunch. Staff are super friendly and if u are a regular they basically know what you will order. Food is also at a good price point. Highly recommend for a casual lunch if you work around the Britomart CBD area.

Great service and delicious food ~highly recommend. Price wasn’t too bad and quite affordable for a yummy meal. I love that it’s quite and decor had a modern chic vibe.

I entered and I was greeted with a smile. I had lemon water which was so refreshing and then I ordered this amazing Mee Goreng. Fell in love with it in it's first bite.

HINT: Try to make it here just before 12 if you're going for lunch as it gets really busy and it queues up by about 12:30.
I'm glad I waited to review this place. Sorry guys, but I dropped a point and a half. Fresco has been our go-to place for lunch for my team-mates and I for the past couple of years and has never disappointed. The only concern we had was the timing. If you order a rice dish, this comes out faster than if you order a noodle soup.
Today, I ordered the fish head noodle soup. This was the first time I was disappointed. It sounds good on paper but not particularly what I was after. Yes it is a noodle soup because you get plenty of those. Strong flavour of ginger which was nice. I couldn't really taste the pickled mustard greens, just some overcooked greens. Tofu was bland. My big gripe is the fish head. The dish is titled "Fish head" noodle soup - not "Scraps of a Fish head" noodle soup. I grew up eating whole fish heads so I was always hesitant to order this in case it wouldn't live up to my expectations. The 'bits' of fish you get are literally scraps. Pieces of the jaw and wing. The best part of a fish head are the cheek and some other parts which may not look delightful but are absolutely scrummy (ie. the eyes and brain - sorry for all you tender tummies out there but it's true). But at least leave the cheeks in! If you're ordering a fish head soup you expect to see the parts of a Fish Head.

That said, service is always nice and friendly. Today I dropped half a point because they don't have their liquor license sorted so we couldn't have a vino over lunch. (Hint to Fresco: Don't give us the drinks menu if you can't offer everything OR take down the alcoholic beverages you have on offer from display).

Food and service was totally amazing. Waitress was absolutly professional. Highly recommend for people willing to have gorgeous food in affordable price.

Great Malaysian food. Have tried a few things on the menu. My favourites are roti canai, char kway teou and mee goreng. All are very delicious! Beef rendang was disappointing, too dry and not enjoyable. Quick service and clean. Good size portions and prices are reasonable for a city restaurant.

Tried their lunch menus and was delighted with the results. We ordered chicken laksa noodle soup, and Thai fried rice that comes with fried chicken. The soup was smooth and wasn't too sweet. The fried chicken was crispy, the batter wasn't too thick, and overall complimented nicely with the fried rice. Will come again to try more dishes

A nice place to have meals with your friends at a great location in the city. Situated in a quaint spot next to Britomart, it’s a great place for those meals before going out to town!

We ordered the Hokkien Noodles, Malaysian Fried Rice and a few other dishes. Service was quick and food was delicious so nothing to complain about there.

I personally felt like the place lacked enthusiasm but that may be due to the fact that we came late afternoon for lunch and most of the peak lunch rush had died down by then.

All in all, I intend to come back here again to give this place another shot!

As a lover of beef rendang ,and as i was in the area decided to get a takeaway of the same for dinner, bad mistake, the beef was chewy and had not obviously been cooked for the requisite 2hrs or so, flavour was not great due to the lack of cooking to which there is no substitute, and the dried fish which help to make the dish were inedible, the rice was over cooked and gluggy. Now i know that i only tried one dish but to me any self respecting so called Malaysian cafe should be able to do better, this dish is such a classic dish, and it is not difficult to cook it just takes time, so obviously i wont be returning, its back to good old reliable selara in new market, now theres a more proper rendang.

I was surprised that this place has no review yet! Tried Fresco last month and decided to have a light lunch. I chose their two entrees - Thai Style Fish Cake and Salt and Pepper Squid. The fish cake and the squid has just the right texture and not rubbery. They're both nice and tasty. Staff is friendly and the price is reasonable.
