Great cafe/bar in Auckland CBD! I had the Salmon Toast, which was really good! Nice mix of high quality ingredients, similar to Salmon Carpaccio but on toast. A little horseradish in the side would have been a nice addition but it was still very Yum! 🤤. Coffee is also top-notch!

As we discovered today, Verona is also a perfect place to have brunch. We love the vibe, sitting by the street people watching over a coffee. Food was really delicious and mouth watering. We would definitely come back. Eggs benedict were super and mushrooms on toast scrumptious! Overall, Verona is really awesome and has great staff.

A Krd staple for well over 20 years, Verona is a boutiquey little cafe/bar with wooden booths, outdoor benches and chill vibes. The staff are hip yet friendly and there is always great music playing. You gotta stop by for at least one drink when visiting Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland).

I stumbled upon Verona looking for a wine and not only did I find wine but I found wonderful people and community too! I instantly felt at home and in a safe inviting space by the staff. Tom made sure my friend and I had a great experience and ensured I was taken care of. He made a delicious mojito and gave us guidance on Auckland as we are from out of town. I know that I will always pop in to Verona for any future visits. Thank you to Tom and the team- you are all lovely people.

Verona is an absolute K Rd institution. Hasn't changed in years and hopefully won't. Open till late with DJ playing most nights. Good range of beers, wines and cocktails. Excellent coffee. Food is unexceptional but always there when you need it (probably the only place I go where they'll open the kitchen on request after it's closed). Super friendly staff and everyone is welcome.

Great breakfast! I wasn't expecting much because of the look of the cafe but I was very happy with the food we got. We had The Verona Breakfast, high quality sausage, great sourdough, and everything else was tasty as. We will be back for sure for more.

Stopped by after work for a celebration. Just keep an eye out for a couple of large tables outside. There are also quite a few tables at the back of the restaurant and it is quite roomy. We just had drinks and chips and both were quite nice. They have quite a range of drinks including beer, wine, and cocktails.

I stayed in Auckland for 4 nights recently and this place was right around the corner from my hotel. It was cool, chill place with cool vibes, good music and very friendly staff. Went there daily or nightly to chill, drink and the location is great for people watching along busy K road.

Very poor experience here today unfortunately. We came at lunch time and had to wait 40 minutes for 2 simple vege burgers... and the place was empty? Now we know why! So late that we had to take them away as we had other places to be. Food was not worth the wait unfortunately.

Cool place on Krd where you can chill on a weekend morning with a nice cup of coffee. They use Millers coffee beans which is noiceee. I really enjoy the food here and keen to return and try their blueberry pancakes. Their mince on toast was yum and I recommend it. Only fault is maybe a smile wouldn't kill anyone. But yes- awesome cafe/resturant/bar.

The vegan pasta was particularly amazing. The enthusiastic chef talked with us about the work that goes into creating the cashew nut based creamy vegan cheese sauce. It tasted incredible. Chilled out place, easy to hear each other talk. Good music in the background.

A lazy Sunday morning early arvo about noon last week I came to try the vegan breakfast tasty meal mushrooms tofu scram little potatoes nuggets NOM! Meal took while to come out and we were only customers in there so not sure what happened there but will deffo be back. Sorry took no photo as was starving so inhaled meal before I even thought about taking photo hahaha! Real lovely guy behind counter too made really good almond decaf latte my first coffee in years man I enjoyed it! Thanks guys.

We loved the decor, took us right back to our hippie days and we’d love it to be our local cafe too, but we ain’t going back.

Iconic cafe on K Rd with a cool vibe where you can chill and take in the particular ambiance that is K Rd. It has a rundown eclectic blingy feel to it which gives it its own charm. We headed in for some lunch even though the cafe wasn't exuding much in the way of foodiness.... My tofu burger was better than expected, and overall we had a chillaxed time with good service!

But i wanted to review the place because i liked the vibe the service and style of the place .For the food i ordered the tortilla chips with lemon coriander salsa it was absolutely amazing and quiet a good portion size too perfect with drinks .Besides that i ordered the bread with the dips which was also good .Will definitely want to visit to try a full meal . But good experience overall

Verona is a good place to relax having coffee or beer. And staffs are kind and sweet. Sometimes there isnt any seat late at friday night. I had Malibu and tap beer. Beer with Kumara chips is a perfect combination.

Brilliant coffee was super had the Romeo and Juliet for breakfast was superb.... This is one of the best little cafes in the part of town..well worth the visit..

Fun staff, decent pricing and good laid back vibe for after work drinks. Toilets are in need of some TLC seen as one of the doors has no lock at all. This made for an exhilarating peeing experience though. It's my new local so I love it over its faults.

One of the most iconic spots on K'rd, great street vibe good cabinet food and amazing coffee. I havent had a full meal here just yet but I have definitely enjoyed a fair few sandwiches, nice place to hang out if you are doing your second hand shopping around these neck of the woods

Verona is a great place for people watching! I have had a few bits and bobs out of their cabinet food selections and was pleasantly suprised! They could certainly do better trade if they brought a counter out that was facing towards K,rd and had their coffee machine setup so it was much more visible without actually going inside and was targeting more of the foot traffic. Maybe also need a few more delights in terms of "street foods" they could sell from there. #g1

Me and a friend headed into Verona on Sunday because we were hankering for a milkshake. Unfortunately they didn't do milkshakes, and the closest thing on the menu was an iced chocolate so we settled for that!. It was exactly what I needed, milky, ice cold, creamy and sprinkled all over with drinking chocolate. There was tons of ice in it, so the only drawback is to drink it fast otherwise you're left with watered down milk which ain't so hot. Other than that, Verona is a great place for sitting and chilling with mates, we went to the tables right at the back of the place. I spent the whole time enjoying the furniture and mini salt lamps on every table. Super cute. The two staff behind the counter were extra lovely and friendly :)

This place is a real landmark. I've been coming here for years, but today after being charged $6 for a soft drink (not a nice local organic version) I don't think I will be returning. A pity as the place has really nice moments and good service, but $6 for a ginger beer is a joke - even by Auckland standards.

I just had a hard day and needed a quiet drink and something to eat. The pinot gris was served i a beautiful tumbler , for a great price. Went to Verona for lunch with group of people and was very pleased with the experience. The owner was very attentive and provided great service. Menu offered a lot of choice and option for smaller tapas style plates if desired. My duck & lentil served on rice was tasty, and kumara chips served with aioli divine. Would definitely be back again soon.

I must admit its been quite a while since returning to this once iconic cafe/bar but having heard it had changed ownership I thought it time to go back to what was once one of my favourite haunts. Well what a change! The interior has had a facelift for the better but still retains its unique vibe,its unpretentious local feel that it always had. The menu has changed with lots of wholesome healthy options,taste plates if you want to share and prices are very reasonable too! If you are like me and have fond memories of Verona I suggest you give it a go again.

Would rate 0 stars, if there was an option. Attempted to have dinner at Verona tonight, failed. Or rather they did, and have done so for a while. Asked the front of house guy if they were still doing 'vegan mondays'. He said no, and acted as if they never had. He then proceeded to yell at the chef, who was in the kitchen, for a few minutes, before telling him we wanted seeds and salad if he had any. The chef came out of the kitchen and told us to 'f*** off', actually. Awkward, that they've gone from being a place that advertises itself on catering for vegan and organic diets, to this. Sad, offensive, ridiculous. Won't be back. Wouldn't recommend expecting to get a meal with any kind of service, from this place. I honestly hope there are big changes made or something better replaces it.

Verona Cafe Cheesecake mission Monday night. I am standing at the bar. Three staff behind the bar. One walks past me and retrieves something from her bag. I interrupt her and ask if they make their cakes on the premises "No we buy them in from a shop" (and sell them for $7.00 a pop) She continues to walk past me and proceeds to open the item that she retrieved from her bag which were a pair of earring's, try them on behind the bar whilst showing her work colleague and looking in the mirror. This took five minutes and then she returned and served me, I asked for a blueberry cheesecake. I walked home, opened up my package and inside was a passion-fruit cheesecake. I had to stop myself going back to make a complaint to the owner as I thought it may end in me getting arrested. The owner of that cafe pays his staff, three off them to stand there and try on earring's whilst customers are waiting to be served. This country is going to embarrass itself hosting the rugby world cup. Four years ago France hosted the it and the service and food was impeccable. Yours sincerely So F**ken Angry

Was open Easter Friday when many others weren't.Decor is an eclectic mix and K Rd Funky but food was delicious.M's pizza yum,crisp, full of toppings. J's chicken breast on risotto tasty, moist.W's chicken salad delicious.Def a place for fun and yum with no pretentions and reasonable prices.

Went for breakie today and it was a shambles: Hardly anyone there Coffee took 15 minutes After 1/2 an hour some dude comes out and asks who ordered the vegan breakie and if we were in a hurry. I said, well I have been waiting 30 minutes already and what the menu says is fine(roasted crispy veges and tofu) as I'm gluten intolerant. Guy said he had just got my order now so it would be a while. Apparently the chef was late (it was 12:30). Great. Then my wifes meal arrived. Her poached eggs were rock hard. I then had to walk in the rain to fed the parking meter and got soaked. So my meal arrives and it was soggy eggplant and big hunks of soggy pumpkin with what looked like flour coated wedges and a bit of deep fried tofu (I admit that I said chips would be ok if that made it easier for them). Not what the menu said and not at all good. They also had 2 chairs with broken backs at our table that were just useless if not dangerous. $50.00 for crap. Hope this helps you Verona to sort it out. An incredible meal, fantastic service, and beautiful drinks. Right from the moment we walked in, we were attentively served, the meals came from the kitchen with such haste that had I not seen them cook them myself, I would have thought they were pre-prepared. All in all, make for a great evening, and I will most DEFINITELY be back.

Saturday brunch. Nothing short of disappointing. Less than welcoming service. Excessively long wait (30 mins) for 1 x BLAT and 1 x mushrooms on toast. No, there wasn't a very heavy demand on the kitchen at the time. Food was alright when it finally arrived, but not really worth the price tag. I'm glad I had an Entertainment Book voucher (buy 1 main, get 1 main free) hich almost made the experience palatable. Sorry Verona. You need to lift your game.
