Perfect flatwhites and affordable sandwiches. My original experience of allpress was down in Dunedin, which had set quite high expectations. Now I have found a slice of my Dunedin memory now in Auckland. Flatwhites taste delicious - nothing to fault and i love the allpress roasts! Sandwiches were fresh and affordable! Toasted for the crunchiness on the outside. Free customer parking in front - which is a huge plus as its in thr CBD area. Atmosphere is beautiful with a gallery seating setting. Service was super friendly and was helpful in explaining throughout. Will come again!

Great atmosphere for a coffee or morning tea. Good friendly team. Got stuck today behind someone ordering $100 of coffee and it didn't affect the time it took me to get my order. Good service in my book. Nice variety of beans and baking on offer too.

I have been drinking Allpress Coffee for many years now. If you after a good cup of coffee, Allpress is definitely the right choice. The staff at this location are super friendly, they are efficient and professional. Highly recommended!

When you visit a flagship store, your expectation is quite high and I get that. However, coffee was below average. The shot was pale as the extraction was only around 15 seconds (I timed it). I often have meetings around this area and the only thing you like about this place is they have a free parking which is a biggie in city central. Work on your coffee guys. Please.

Still reminiscing about the pumpkin and walnut sourdough sandwich I had for lunch today at Allpress cafe on Drake St. It was warm, a little bit gooey and chewy without being oily or too messy. The soy flat white that companioned the lunch plate was also robust and smooth. Things I liked about Caffettaria Allpress:

Unique decor compared to most cafes in Auckland, Allpress is one of those sexy cadres that also serve a amazing cuppa. Dropping by for a quick caffeine boosts, we were surprised at the quality of our brew and have vowed to come back soon. Showstopper: Pulchritudinous Overall Grade: B+

Great little cafe with fantastic coffee. Always been a fan of their toasted sandwiches (mainly the tuna one). Nice and simple coffee house which is great for chilling out by yourself on a nice Saturday morning after a morning workout.

Me and my work friends visit here once every week or three for coffee. Its one of the best cafes in the central Auckland area. Coffee has been 'bang on' consistently excellent every time. Staff are probably not the most over friendly, but they are certainly efficient. Its a shame they can be a little surly. The counter food, brioches, slices etc are very good and i've never been disappointed with this cafe. Will keep on going back. My only gripe (if you can even call it that) is the size vs price of their regular flat white. The cups seem a little teeny tiny for the price you pay, but I guess thats the going rate in the central city, and i'm picking their overheads are pretty jolly high. The coffees always so good that I can't actually say the cup size is a complaint, its just that one cups not ever enough :-)

I've become a regular here and find the coffee and food outstanding every time. I would have to say the coffee is the best I've had in the area for a while. My most recent visit was 6 October 2012. While the menu is mainly cabinet food (i.e no fancy meals) it's fresh and always well presented and you never leave feeling hungry. The staff are always friendly, well presented and polite - and most importantly the food is delivered quickly. They are definitely a professional team who work here - no messing around. The cafe itself is reasonably comfortable, although can feel a little cold/industrial due to the design (maybe some cushions and a bit of colour would be nice inside and out?) It would be great to see some free wi-fi for using your tablet computer to read the news and send email etc. I don't notice any music either, although not sure it matters much. I highly recommend this place to meet up during the week with work colleagues, or even just for a coffee after the gym on a Saturday with friends.

I went here today as someone else had arranged the meeting place. I checked out the reviews and thought oh no. Fortunately something has changed, for the better. The place was humming. The staff were generally friendly (non were unfriendly), the coffee was excellent, and the food was pretty damn tasty. The food was limited to cabinet and heat and eat, as far as i could see. We had 2 coffees each (flat whites), cinnamon brioche and lemon syrup cake. All went down really well. I recommend this place.

Had a really, really bad flat white there on Friday afternoon. I know all baristas can mess up, but this guy just seemed really indifferent, so I suspect this was pretty much what he generally does. The espresso shot was seriously under-extracted and the milk was just too 'airy' which meant the flat white was just watery and frothy (in fact, with a slight chemical-ly aftertaste). I can accept an average coffee now and then even from excellent cafes, but this one was below what any self-respecting cafe with a decent reputation should ever serve up. He either didn't care or didn't know what he was doing. I had one sip and was like 'oh that's pretty average', then a second sip, and then tipped the rest out, and spent the next hour with a weird chemical aftertaste in my mouth, annoyed that I'd wasted $4 and missed out on enjoying a good coffee. I'm never going there again, and I'd seriously warn people who love good coffee not to go there (particularly with so many excellent cafes around, with staff who care about their work and are really good at what they do). Massive disappointment, particularly since it's a good space with a lot of potential (with a capable barista).

I usually go to this place for a coffee before I go to work. The main reason is the coffee. Perfect every time. The second reason is to read the paper and set myself up for the day. Staff are great and provide just what I want at this time of day. Coffee and paper. Not looking for chit chat. 5 stars.

Went to allpress over the weekend and was extremely disappointed with the lack of friendly service. Staff here were rude and uninviting. Definately will not return.

Without doubt the best coffee in Auckland! Have had coffee at heaps of places, but only Allpress seem to have the knack of being able to make it perfectly every time... Also the biscuits and food on offer is always the highest quality, go for the egg and prosciutto bap if you need a recommendation!
