We had two brunches here in a week. Good food with cabinet options available. Child friendly with great noise levels. Situated at the back of Kings plant barn which is simply a beautiful oasis of plants. Heaps of parking.

The table was a little dirty, but was okay.
Muffin tasted as if it was freshly baked this morning.
The staff were nice and the coffee was great. A very popular place (family friendly too). Would recommend to friends and family.

Awesome cafe with fabulous food. Have been going here regularly for years. Kings Garden centre now own the cafe and it is so much better than it used to be. Staff are so lovely. Tables in particular are so much cleaner and food is so fresh and very very good. The scones and the mushrooms on toast are just the best

Agree that it can be a bit too noisy due to the hard surfaces when very busy, but that is just about the only downside. Even when cool outside, blankets are available.
Dog friendly and one of the few places around that can cope with a fair sized group and no parking problems.

Good food and prompt service even though it was busy. There was plenty of seating available both indoors and out. The disadvantage of sitting inside is that it is very noisy if there are many people in there as the sound bounces off all the hard surfaces. This can make conversation difficult. Concrete floors, wooden tables and metal chairs. Some play material for the young ones and a little play House outside.

This place would hands down be my favorite breakfast stop on the north shore the breakfast has never once dissapointed me, is well priced for what you get and the creamy mushrooms are the best in town ild say.<br/>With the cafe being set in the garden centre, the ambience is relaxing and refreshing. The staff are very attentive and the owners are always there working along side them which is great. <br/>Beautiful coffee which comes from Altura it never disappoints. A must go 🍴🍳

<br/>It being the planting season we went to Kings Plant Barn in Porana Road to get some peppers and tomato plants, and lunch at its cafe, which we had not been to for a number of years. Since our last visit the cafe had been substantially extended, both indoors and out, but was still pretty full in all areas. We sat in the covered outdoor extension - all prime seating outdoors amongst the plants being taken. The range of food is limited to breakfast and light lunch from the blackboard menu, or cabinet food of which there is a reasonable selection. We went for the Salmon & dill hash cake (topped with a lightly poached egg), and the Zucchini, broccoli & cumin fritters (with avocado yoghurt dressing). Each was accompanied by a green Salad which included pickled veges to add interest and crunch. Both were tasty and perfectly filling for lunch, and the meals were served promptly. We also bought a blueberry muffin to go, which was quite delicious.

Food was good, came here for my sisters birthday lunch but found the staff quite rude. My cousin is allergic to dairy and told the staff that, so she ordered wedges with bacon and avacado and specifically stated no cheese or sour cream as she is allergic, yet they bring out a plate covered in sour cream and cheese, so we ask them to take it back and bring us a new meal, they come back a minute later with the avacado and wedges and bacon scraped from one plate to another with the cheese and sour cream scraped off!!!! Had to take the plate back and get them to make a fresh plate but the manager was so rude about us going back and asking for a fresh meal even tho my cousin is deadly allergic to dairy! Will not go back again

Cute setting, and a great breakfast panini. In some food, I found their use of celery distasteful. But, oh my! My goodness - their apricot crumble is incredible! I fell in love with it from the first bite. The best apricot crumble I've ever had. Great coffee, great vibe, and great food!

The location is great and sitting outside amongst the garden centre is really nice . Sadly there is a but the food is indifferent it looks great but no real tastes , it's just not great at all a huge variety of things that all taste the same ...<br/>Staff are on the whole friendly and helpful <br/><br/>Maybe it's a just s new chef they need

Pretty good consistent service and standard cafe food. The baked goods are great...old fashioned in a good way. Recommend the ginger crunch if you're a fan of this slice. Love the surroundings and so good to have a real cafe among all the beautiful plants.

Have just discovered this website so pleased to see as I think too many people are quick to criticize but not compliment. My oh my, I have been here a number of times, and I always have the same, stronger ginger latte and an Eccles cake OMG have you seen the size of them! My husband had tea which comes with hot water and a muffin, which he said was so fresh. Recommend to everyone

Have been previously as a couple for lunch and have never been disappointed. However today we went for a family get together. We had 18 people for brunch.<br/>The owners and staff could not do enough to ensure we were all comfortable and had whatever we needed. The food came out quickly and, without exception, all meals were well received.<br/>Would have no hesitations in returning. <br/>Huge thanks to all staff today.

Nice indoor out door flow, we found our selves a seat outside due to previous experience of inside seats being terribly uncomfortable. Me and my friend ordered a "lemon delight" cake, beef burger and two caramel lattes. The cake was tasted lovely and was nice and moist. Lemon Cream cheese icing was beautiful and came with whipped cream on the side which complimented nicely. The beef burger came with fries that were perfectly salted, the burgers ingredients were fresh and had a nice tomato relish. The coffees were well made and all the order came to the table with in 10 minutes of ordering. Over all I was happy with the service and food. Would recommend and look forward to coming back.

Visited this cafe this morning for breakfast with my family and had heard really good things about it up until I tried it. We ordered and were seated and asked 2 different waitresses for water and it never came, my feijoa and apple smoothie was more like a milkshake, all I could taste was icecream and nothing else which isn't what you want when you order a fruit smoothie. I ordered the eggs benedict with ham instead of bacon seeing as it was an option, the eggs benedict came out with bacon, not ham and the smallest amount of hollandaise which was a little disappointing but it tasted alright, the coffees were really burnt so much we didn't drink them. Will not be going back

My husband and I go there regularly as it's local and parking is easy. The food is always nice and reasonably priced, friendly staff, and great service. <br/><br/>This Sunday I ordered some sandwiches and corn fritters for our party at home and I was blown away by the outstanding customer service I received and the good quality of the food. (We had similar sandwiches and sushi plater from Glendfield mall for our party before and they weren't very nice at all.) Everone enjoyed the food!<br/><br/>I would highly recommend this place for a relaxing morning or lunch with friends and family. Also a good place to order food for your home party if you don't have time to make everything yourself.

Queen's birthday weekend was wet so a trip to Kings in Wairau Valley seemed in order. I had not been for years and the place was much improved.<br/>Coffee was good, date scone well made and service pleasant. My wife was kept happy so a win.<br/><br/>The bathroom facilities were not that nice.<br/><br/>Price was reasonable and worth a try.

My mum and I decided to come here for brunch last weekend, I was hankering for some pancakes so I knew exactly what I wanted when I got there. <br/><br/>I got the pancakes with berry's, a chocolate lamington and a chai latte (yeah I was hungry) - I was pleasantly surprised when I was asked whether I wanted my chai "sweet or spicy". I feel like I never get this option and am often stuck with an overly sweet chai so that really made me smile. <br/><br/>The pancakes were delicious... however, I would have called them pikelets not pancakes. I dunno, when I imagine a pancake I think of large, thin golden cakes whereas these were small fist sized pancakes. Either way, it was quite delicious and filling so maybe the small size was a good thing? The chocolate lamington was delicious and I couldn't stop myself from ordering one as they looked impeccable. <br/><br/>Would definitely go again, and the walk through the garden centre is really nice to get out to the cafe :)

Enjoyed a great brunch with some mates at this cafe which is in the middle of plant barn... Had a chicken panini with almond and nut tart.. They are also having many options in coffee.. I took the white choc mocha just to try something new and I must say the experience was pleasant with it as it was just perfectly prepared.. The service was quick and the staff was friendly..Great place to have a brunch on a lazy weekend..
