Review The Junction Eatery - Auckland Central

Jae Park
Don't let the front seating put you off, they have a second floor at the back with a lot of tables and a great view overlooking the bush. There's also a small bar with a craft beer selection on tap. The food was great and reasonably priced, they have an interesting concept range of both sweet and savory waffles. All the food was great, would definitely be there I go back to if I'm in the area.

Me and my friends enjoyed the food we had. From fries, big breakfast & my friend enjoyed her egg bennies as well (egg is cooked to perfection!) squid is also good, highly recommended. love the chocolate twist. but its too small for $4.50 for me. pls allow me to highlight the food i have ordered which is the Halloumi Salad. I love the sauce in my salad and its so perfect as a vegan option. Will definitely come back for this the reason why this is 4 is the service. there’s only 1 front of the house, and there is a waiting time. If u are in quick lunch break, this is not a perfect place for you. But i love the manager for being accomodating and helpful

A hidden gem in Birkenhead! Worth finding your way to the upstairs seating, sheltered or outside, for the stunning views and open air vibe. The friendly and helpful staff make this place a pleasure to visit 👏🏼 Great coffee and dinner drinks, and both a kitchen menu plus cabinet food. Always a relaxed and enjoyable experience here 😊

Great food and a better view! This a calm and collected cafe for anyone that wants to enjoy a lazy Sunday morning. We had the Spanish eggs and vegetable waffles along with one of the best banana smoothies I have had to date!
Iain Guthrie
Excellent food, value for money, friendly and approachable service from all. Dog friendly and understanding management refunded a miscommunication. Hard to get better value on the Shore.

The Junction Eatery is a great venue for a private dinner or a group event. The hosts really go out of the way to make sure that you are happy, food is very very good, vibe is modern with a lovely view - this place deserves a lot of visitors. Perfect size for our event which filled the whole upstairs, but also good for smaller events because you can close the big ranchsliders and stick to the balcony. I preordered platters which got rave reviews and was fair size especially considering there is no venue rental fee. Hosts are great lovely people and deserve to be successful. 5/5 stars for food and service and venue.

Great view of harbour, city and rainforest. Indoor and covered outdoor seating to enjoy the view. Quality was good and priced accordingly. Nice atmosphere with modern feel.
Vihanga Kariyawasam
A great spot with a view to enjoy your weekend brunch with friends. Wonderful service with a smile and the bar is a nice touch when you want to host a group of friends or family.

A trendy place with nice outdoor seating. This is a nice place for a group catch up or a casual coffee. It's kid and dog friendly, and has lots of vegetarian options.
Coco Ocean
I highly recommend the chicken burger, it’s a bit spicy and crunchy, very delicious with the best fries! Would be even more yummy with avocado. I just was not a fan of the bread bun... the rest was very good, and to top it off, a really nice view.

fantastic views, but also fantastic food. Lots of great free-range and organic choices here. Great menu for the day, and at night the perfect place to get a cocktail, the upstairs bar has that warm inviting feel about it.

It's my second visit but I have not been here for a while and we were not disappointed. I went with a group of mates for brunch and we all enjoyed our meals. I highly recommend the junction Benedict! The vegetable gratin tasted amazing. The staff were really friendly and not forgetting the view! We will definitely will be returning.

From the moment we stepped inside, after taking in the cityscape from the balcony, a special night was unrolling before us. Happy hour cocktails while we awaited our guests (espresso martini was outstanding) then a relaxed couple of hours of shared plates, great beer and a lot of laughs. Our new favourite on the Shore.

Friendly staff, cosy ambience and attractive decor. Breakfast was tasty and coffee good. Only complaint is got food before coffee.

Lovely food and coffee and well looked after every time I've been here. The view up top is lovely but it's also nice and peaceful down in front. Another great edition to the buzzing Highbury cafe scene!

my sons we kind enough to take me out for a late lunch, when we went to order we found that what we wanted was no longer being served and we had 3 things to order of the menu as the next menu didn't start till later, i thought that was insane considering it was mothers day, cant really comment on the food as all i had was hot chips, beautiful spot but expensive for what you get, a shame really as we love to promote local eatery, we all ended up with chips except for one son who had prawns, very disappointing, would have loved to actually tried the menu
Lene Sterzik
I love this place. The location is beautiful, with amazing views, staff always friendly, and the food and drinks, especially the cocktails, are fabulous!! Can't wait to try more from your menu.
John Subritzky
Well executed food of an exceptionally high standard, I had the eggs bennidict with beetroot cured smoked salmon,,,, the Hollandaise was to die for,,, very well made, I can't wait to visit again

We went here for dinner a little while ago. Inside the restaurant was very cosy and nice (though maybe a few to many tables). Food was nice but nothing to special. Prices were on the medium/high end. All in all we had an enjoyable evening but the thing that got me was the wine. I was driving so didn't complaint but if I pay for a glass I expect it to be a proper serving, my glass was not filled to the line.
Diveanne Allin
Well done on your 1st day guys!! We loved the brekkie and fresh juice. My hubby said it was the best egg benedict his ever had;).

Absolutely loved everything about my dinner date tonight. The service, food, drinks and exceptional attentive staff where nothing less than the best. Thank you for a lovely night out we will definitely be back and be telling everyone about it.

Food and drink = 4.5/5 I had the salmon waffles, which was just amazing! Service = 4.7/5 Our waitress was so incredibly lovely even though she had a long day Location = 5/5 Views upstairs are really good.

New place in Birkenhead has a great outlook. Food was OK and staff were great. Need to come back and try dinner
Lisa Christmas
The food was perfect - flavour, size, presentation - the wait staff were lovely the view fabulous - will go again - thank you!

This place does not offer 1+1 gold. They only do 25% off the bill. We also waited for food for over 1 hour. When we asked when our food, it came out after 10 minutes. It makes me think they forgot (?) About our order. The food was not hot either.
Nina Gailer
Great place with an affordable COVID-19 Level 3 menu. Would highly recommend the Wagyu Beef Burger. I will be back!

We had smashed avocado and tempura prawns. The avocado was nice but I felt they were quite pricy for the amount of food.
The tempura prawns was more... interesting. It was battered and crispy but not really tempura battered, and it was served with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce which usually doesn't go with tempura. Maybe it should be called battered prawns instead? And the weirdest thing was the presentation. It looks like after being battered, the prawns were pressed against a grid and they ended up with theses stripy indentations. It's quite obvious so I assume it was deliberate. Not sure if it's meant to mimic stripes on prawn shells, but in the end it made them look like little bugs...
I mean don't get me wrong the prawns were crispy and delicious, just that they are 100% not "tempura" and they look funny. 😂

As we were in Birkenhead the other day we decided to try one of the many eateries in the area. We chose the Junction as it offered an interesting menu selection, and was centrally located with an upstairs area with great views of the city. We opted for the lamb sliders (4) and the green packed waffles with fried chicken. The lamb sliders were relatively bland as they lacked seasoning and the listed tapioca fried onions and fresh coriander were missing. When we enquired about the lack of the onions the waitress said she they were probably inside (NOT) and did not bother to verify it with the chef. Evidently the water is self-help, as we were advised when we requested some (not high marks for service). The greens packed waffles were excellent as was the accompanying chicken, but at what amounts to $5 per slider you can get better value at the popular burger chains. So overall a bit of a mixed bag, and I'm not sure we will return.

I’ve been here many times. I love fries and cold brew here. View is bonus point to visit here

Food was delicious and the place was cozy with a view of the Auckland city when seated upstairs. Staff was friendly & the food came quite fast.
Had the Junction Benedict with salmon which was amazing with the potato stack except a little salty. The Big Breakfast was really nice too.

A good environment increases satisfaction.
Pumpkin pie was worthy to try.
Latte bowl was the largest bowl of coffee I had .

We always enjoy our visit to Junction Eatery, you will never great disappointed with their vege packed waffles and beef burger. Thank you for the amazing food.

I’ve heard so many good things about this place and seen so many Instagram posts from Junction Eatery!
The food did not disappoint! It’s definitely worth it for its price. The water was self-serviced, and unfortunately I did pick up a cup with some lipstick marks on it – which I ended up just swapping out because it was a little gross.

We also didn’t realise there was an upstairs until we saw others going through the little corridor to go upstairs!

Would definitely come back to try more of the menu and am excited because its relatively close by!

Damn ok, came here for the first time the other morning and she was eah alright. I got an iced mocha and carrot cake, the iced mocha was pretty damn good but it didn't look pretty :(( And the carrot cake looked better than it tasted for sure, it was very dry and bland sadly. My parents got coffees and they found them alright, my mum and brother shared a caramel slice which they seemed to enjoy. The actual cafe is super cute with dope detailing and deco although the service wasn't the best, the cafe wasn't even busy and they all looked so lost and didn't look like they knew what they were doing haha. I'd like to come back and try some of their menu food for sure. x

The waffles at The Junction Eatery are the best in Auckland as I am a massive waffle fan, and nothing could go wrong with Nutella. It was the perfect combination with a side of whipped cream and maple syrup. Will definitely be back :).

We arrived near their closing time. Lots of dishes are not available. Honestly, food just average , but I will try again next time when is not close to closing time 😉
Sarah
Smoothie was re made after we said was bland and was much better
Order was mixed up, but handled very well by owner
Nicole Monique
Came here a few weeks ago and had big breakfast and eggs bene. Food wasn't good, waited for ages despite barely anyone being in the cafe. Our coffees were finished by the time we recieved breakfast. Big brekky was salty and they put dairy in the eggs despite asking otherwise. Hollandaise sauce was like a creamy lemon sauce, very acidic and ruined the meal.
The only positive is the view and outside deck.

This cafe has the potential to be such a popular spot. They have plenty of indoor/outdoor seating plus a great view, but there are so many ways they can improve.

First, not many staff working. Poor guy (owner?) was serving 5+ tables so his attention was noticeably split across the restaurant. It wasn't very busy but it took SO long for food to arrive! about 45 min! I see from other reviews that more customers have had the same experience.

Once the food arrived we were not initially impressed. The portions seemed on the small side, but by the time they arrived we were hungry so didn't mind so much. The green omlette was good, but the bagel (w bacon) and the haloumi and mushrooms were both very dry, both needed a sauce or some sort of moisture. The haloumi mushroom dish had a pumpkin relish but there was only a small amount and it did not provide the much needed moisture. The haloumi was a bit tough. So overall, bit on the small side and also dry. Otherwise tasty dishes. Coffee was good though. Cabinet food didn't look very appealing.

One of us considered ordering the fish and chips but decided against it once we saw it was $25. Someone at a table nearby ordered the fish and chips and we saw it go past - TINY PORTION. Two tiny pieces of fish, a small portion of chips and a poor excuse of a side salad. Don't order the fish and chips!

Overall: Long wait for food. Okay dishes, on small side but generally enjoyed. Good coffee. Nice view. Lots of seating.

Went there with my wife on Saturday, staffs are friendly and good service.
Food and drinks are great and even better with the stunning outdoor view

Fantastic sunny spot in Birkenhead. Friendly and attentive staff makes for a lovely Sunday brunch spot. I ordered the junction Benedict with my hollandaise on the side. The burnt butter hollandaise is one of the best I've ever tasted. The gratin base was also really tasty, overall a fantastic breakfast experience. Coffee was also spot on! We'll be back for sure.
Thomas
The view of Rangitoto Island from upstairs was very nice on a sunny day! Decent coffee, delicious smoothies, friendly and professional services, and we will definitely return for the house waffle!
Florence N
We came on a weekday, for lunch. Ordered the Junction big breakfast as well as beef burger. The big breakfast was missing, the potatoes. The bacon was overcooked, almost burnt. The order also took a long time to arrived
Shiqi Deng
Like what many other reviews said, service was extremely slow. Our food took more than 40min to arrive. Fries were cold and burger bun was cold. Portion was small and tasted average.
Dini
I was super excited about the Junction. Great location, really great service. Unfortunately the food took 45+ mins to arrive on a day when there wasn't a lot of people, and when it did, there was only one meal. The other meal had been accidentally served to the table near us. Bummed is only one way to describe how disappointed we were. We decided to leave, but pay for drinks first. They were very good about us just paying for the drinks, not the food. For the service, I'd probably still go back. I'm sorry it's not a higher rating.

Have had breakfast here before and it was good. However, I had dinner here last night and it was atrocious. I ordered the fish and chips and waited around 1hr for it to come out. When it did come out there was hardly any fish and mostly batter, the batter was also very soggy. The salad was all the end white bits of the lettuce and the tips of it were brown. The chips were crispy, however they were unbelievably oily. The fish was also let down by a lack of sauce, I used th aioli meant for the chips but that also lacked flavor. I finished the night with a creme brulee and an Irish coffee. The creme brulee was alright but was what seemed to be a little curdled. The Irish coffee came out barely lukewarm. Nit very impressed with the overall experience.

Really great spot in Birkenhead. On a nice day the view from the deck is just beautiful. The service was great even though they were really busy. Our food was beyond tasty! Next spot for a family lunch!

Lovely exterior cafe with lots of tables available. This cute cafe features 2 levels with simplistic and modern interior designs.

Food: We ordered a Green Omelette and Smashed Avocado. Both cooked to perfection! The omelette was fluffy and light but the fillings made it taste delicious. Didn’t need sauce or anything additional. The smashed avocado is only on one toast but not to complain as the sourdough tasted delicious dipped in some egg yolk

Service: Staff were friendly and polite. Since there are two levels, sometimes staff might not be present as they’re either upstairs or downstairs. Food was not long to arrive either which is always a plus!

Nice beef burger. Cooked absolutely perfectly. Vegetarian risotto. Also cooked very well. Great waitress. Only thing was service was a little slow. Worth waiting for though!

This restaurant is just average. Food is okay, with big portion. The wait time is quite long mentioning there were only 2 tables when I came. Staff are friendly. Nothing special really about this retautant. However, with Zomato Gold, it's still a good deal after all.

Went there twice and loved it!
Decor 5/5 Great view and nice environment
Service 4.5/5 friendly stuff
Food 4/5 the food is good, but second time we went there my friend's burger is undercooked and under seasoning. But all other food tastes good and they have my favourate drink Toblerone taste great!
The Zomato Gold can be used here which means one of the main is free, so it's quite good value :)

This place has downstairs and upstairs seating with a nice view on the outside balcony area. Very warm cosy and clean restaurant.
The food was ok but not great. They were busy as it was during their lunchtime rush so maybe food was rushed a bit.
Tasted a bit of dirt in my parsley topping. Didn’t want to say anything as I don’t want to make a scene. Salmon didn’t look too fresh either and the waffles dish was too hard and crunchy for my son so we had to help him finish it.
Overall score:
Food:3/5
Ambiance:5/5
Service:4/5
Value for money: 3.5/5

Server was friendly but food took over half an hour to arrive despite it not being very busy. Found a large piece of egg shell in my order. Aside from the shell, food quality itself was not bad.

It has the best view in North Shore. Staff was friendly even though one of my friend was asking too many question because of the Celiac problem. They were hounist and offered the right food. My aunty had no problem after eating the food. Highly recommend.

Love this place - great coffee, great accomodating staff, great tasty food and great scenic view. I also really appreciate the complementary sparkling water. Vegan friendly.

Nice views and wait staff, however service was slow. I ordered the grilled haloumi and portobello mushrooms, but they served the dish with feta instead of haloumi.

Loved the atmosphere of this place!
Lovely area to sit outside and enjoy the cool autumn weather. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food tasted great! Only the ciabatta was over toasted that we had a hard time trying to cut through it. Otherwise, the flavours of the dishes were very hearty and delicious. Would recommend for a nice brunch on the North Shore.

Service: 5/5
Food: 3/5
Atmosphere: 4.5/5

Slow service and only warm food. The steak was good but not enough potato or veg and as per my first line, none of it was hot. Wife had the chicken roulade which was also only warm and dry. Great location, amazing view , good menu and it could be a really amazing place with faster and hotter food. (We waited 30 minutes). Unfortunatly we wont be going again.
View is amazing, good interior decor. Tea and coffee is excellent... However....

Wait time was very sub par and they managed to bring out the complete incorrect order twice.. Very disappointed.

Luckily zomato gold offers buy 1 get 1 free here.
Urgent improvement needed Junction Eatery

Came in for dinner yesterday night. Ordered the vegetable risotto and the lime shrimp salad. Really liked the salad sauce and how the apples were sliced thinly inside the dish. The risotto was very creamy and cheesy. Zucchini mixed inside was soft and delicious.

We’ve been here a couple of times and I do rate the food, however, while the wait staff are lovely and friendly, the service is particularly slow.
We went with a group of 6 people and were told there was a 30 minute wait on food which we didn’t mind. When our meals turned up, only 5 of our meals came out. We waited for the 6th and eventually asked where it was. The waitress apologised and said she had forgotten to order it (which was confusing as she read out the order at the beginning and that was correct). We were told the food will come out in no more than 4 minutes.....20 minutes later the final dish came out by which time everyone else had finished eating.

Loved this place! The food is amazing with really decent portion sizes. We also had the lamb shank and fish and chips which isn’t pictured here and all meals were delicious! Great service with friendly staff. Nice small place with a view outside. Will definitely be returning.
Cookingkenny
Nice view, child friendly atmosphere but there are steep stairs Incase you have runners. The shrimp salad was great and I really want to find that dressing. The burger was large and got pretty well eaten by someone that doesn’t always make it to the end. Kids Mel’s were big looking at other tables but nothing interesting and lacking a healthy kids pick
Whittling Arts
It’s probably the best cafe in the north shore. Went there three times with friends, all my friends and I really enjoyed their amazing steak and stunning views besides.

I came here for dinner with a couple friends. The location is good and space upstairs was small but still nice. I ordered the wagyu beef burger which came with fries and aioli sauce. The wagyu beef, cheese and sunny side up egg were my favourites in this jam packed burger. The aioli sauce and fries were delicious! The service was good.
Tawna Whitford
Here you’ll find quick and friendly service, but the real treats are the amazing views towards the harbour and Rangitoto, and the waffles. If you try anything, it must be the waffles. So unbelievably good!
Lorraine Millar
Nice interior , coffee and food, but the waiting time and inattentive staff has put us off from going back. Sorry because we were keen to go out for dinner !

What a beautiful cafe tucked away from the busy main roads of Birkenhead. Prime location with amazing views, live music during weekends is a bonus.

The service was perfect, all of the waiting stuff are super friendly and made us feel very welcomed and comfortable.

The food surely live up to the highs standard. Big breakfast was really good, scrumble eggs perfectly made, delicious pork sausage. The Spanish bakes eggs with chorizo sausage will sure lift up your taste buds.. the highlight was the waffle!! The owners bought the machine all the way from Belgium and it has to be one of the best waffles in NZ. Make sure you don't leave without waffles.

I also enjoyed their mocktails..the blueberry mojito is the highlight, the coconut lavender was very refreshing..

This is my 2nd time to the cafe in a week. Can't wait to go back soon for more..

Atmosphere: 5/5
Service: 4.5/5
Food: 3.5/5

If anyone decides to come here, you HAVE to go upstairs because the view is AMAZING. My friend and I decided to sit outside to enjoy the view with our food (good choice 😊)

We ordered the sweet waffles and the quinoa porridge.
The waffles were the scene stealer here! They were crispy on the outside why soft and moist in the inside. I was gland the hazelnut sauce wasn’t drizzled over the waffles to keep it crispy. The mascarpone and yogurt added a sharpness to the dish to not be overwhelmingly sweet.
The porridge was good but there wasn’t anything mind blowing. I enjoyed the nuttiness of the porridge but felt like it was a bit too sweet for my liking (personal preference) without anything to balance it.

Overall would definitely return for the waffles and the view!

Excellent service and delicious food and tasty coffee, what more can you ask for or say but apparently I need to write at least 140 characters to post this review....amazing views as well....

Love The Junction! Ordered the sweet waffles and they were delightful The waffles were fried so they were super crispy! The vanilla yoghurt was a nice fresh flavour, there was heaps of Nutella and hazelnuts on the plate which was awesome, I enjoyed it very much. Hot Chocolate and Flat White were also very good!

Eaten here a couple of times now at different times, have always enjoyed the food and service is good. View and outside is a great bonus - if you get a nice day.

I've visited the place a few times and most of the food I've tried are really nice! Spanish baked eggs and The Junction Benedict are really nice! The service for food takes ages tho, even though there isn't a lot of people dining in. :(

Went for dinner for valentines, not really sure why I waited 45 minutes for mains when the restaurant was not even at full capacity and tables of 5+ were receiving mains before my table of two when they ordered well after us. The food is amazing and so is the vibe but i will not be known as the girl who waits 45 minutes for chicken ever again.
GlutenFreeFoodie
Had a great experience. I ordered the eggs Benedict on a vege hash which was really nice. Staff were very accommodating for my GF needs. I look forward to visiting again.
Tiffiny Begley
Considering the number of customers tonight, the service was a bit pedestrian. It took around 10 minutes for the water to come. The ambience of the place could have been jazzed up a bit with some music or colour as it was a bit dull. The food was good, it was fairly standard cocktail food; we ordered a sharing platter. Overall, reasonably mediocre, but maybe it was just an off night.
Jc
Ordered eggs Benedict with salmon gravlax. Eggs and the potato stack was good. Egg tasted a tad sour, maybe it was pouched in vinegared water? The beetroot salmon gravlax was way over cured and tasted like dried salt sponge. Flavour of the beet and salmon was completely lost. Great hollandaise sauce saved the dish and made it edible.

Yum! I'll go back, had baked eggs and Acai bowl. Acai had some lumps of icy acai however that should have been blended up a little more - this tends to happen, I've had it occur elsewhere so hopefully they extra blend it next time. The view is insane! Staff were nice too

Dined here for brunch with my partner & some friends, this new eatery had caught my eye & I had been keen to visit for a while. The large, modern contemporary exterior is eye catching & the interior perfectly matches. I loved the decor & vibe at The Junction! There are two parts to this eatery, a cafe downstairs & a bistro upstairs, both looked equally inviting but we decided to eat at the bistro. The bistro has both indoor & outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside in the sun & make the most of the awesome view this eatery looks out to. It was a tad chilly being a winters day but one of the lovely staff gave us blankets to keep us warm which was a lovely touch. The service was fast & friendly, I started with a mocha which was enjoyable & it was served with a little meringue instead of your usual marshmallow or biscuit, another little touch which I loved. For brunch I had an acai bowl with seasonal fruit, this was absolutely top notch, the best acai bowl I've eaten hands down! The others I was dining with had eggs bene, sweet waffles & the big breakfast. The wait for food was reasonable & everyone enjoyed their food. The presentation of dishes was gorgeous, I'm guttered I didn't get photos to add to this review! I Would highly recommend The Junction & I will defo be back!

Love this place so much and believe on it's foundations and new born identity. This is why I do it! Love, passion and a massive sense of happiness that comes amongst the struggles and achievements.
I thinks that's enough said lol. I am just a passionate chef pushing hard to achieve results for my team.
I'm proud to be part of this project and it will be my pleasure to feed you next time you come here.
Peace and love to all of you!
😊👍🏼

Love highbury and it's little cafes and restaurants it has to offer, so when I saw the junction eatery open I had to try it !!

Firstly, the upstairs patio with view is amazing. Beautifully presented and what a great way to start your day !

I had a mochaccino large, although I don't think I got a large, the cup size was more of a small to medium compared to other cafes where I have ordered a large.

Breakfast was the junction benedict with portobello mushroom . Beautifully presented on the plate, lots of colour and just looked really pretty. I have to say that I do have my firm favs when it comes to eggs benedict but all in all it was nice.

Don't think I would revisit for another breakfast but I'd love to try an evening dinner and wine. Stay tuned !

The cafe itself is fairly non-descript, tucked quietly back from the street on Birkenhead Ave. There is seating outside, on the ground level, and also upstairs, with fabulous views to the city on a fine day.

I ordered the vegie waffle with salmon gravlax, lemon rocket and capers, and chive mascarpone. The waffle was light, fluffy and flavoursome on its own but the dish was really enjoyable when eaten together, all the flavours working in harmony with each other. A touch more salmon would have been perfect in terms of salmon to everything else ratio. Also ordered the jasmine green tea and it was one of the best I've ever had.

Service was polite and efficient.

TIP: Try your luck at the free parking opposite the library.

When it refers to nice place to hang out in Birkenhead, the newly opened Junction Eatery has brought to local's attention. Lots of attention for the local and beyond.

It is a Cafe, a bar, an eatery, a bistro, a restaurant, whatever you feel like to define it. Junction Eatery keeps an open mind to delight people infused in its ambience.

Come on a nice sunny day to explore this place to the most. As their slogan--the best view Cafe in Auckland. Truly indeed. you will be amazed that Rangitoto and sky tower is your brunch company to add more flavour to your dishes. Besides, the wooden texture on the ground floor, the sea wave inspired wall, those modern shape lamps hanging down to make a classic twist for the whole space. It is a walk-in-and-fall-in-love eatery. Well done!

The surprise has just started. beautiful food serves from morning to dark. You will be amazed by the Brazilian Acai bowl, the egg Benedict(do not miss the burnt butter Hollandaise). Brunch has more options. Be prepared to fall for the house frozen yoghurt with waffles or a salad of prosciutto, goat cheese, sliced pear and walnuts with red wine vinaigrette. And also the colonel salmon gravlax with fluffy scrambled eggs, warm croissant and chive mascarpone cheese. This is so hearty and colourful. beetroot infused salmon pairs perfect with the egg, gives it a Nordic taste hint. lovely. They serve the atomic coffee with a cute meringue to lighten your imagination. And do not forget to have a slice of chocolate cheese cake for an indulgence.

The service is hassle free. One of the girl she showed great knowledge of explaining the menu to customers, recommend distinguished dishes such as parmesan chicken, the big breakfast, lamb shank sliders, the burger set with must-try chips as well as the halloumi cheese salad.

Whether you are on the shore or head over the bridge, this hotspot is hard to beat. The clever Junction Eatery is definitely taking Birkenhead to a new level.

This cafe deserves more than the current rating!
It is situated at a very nice location- the bistro part upstairs has great views and the outdoor deck area is very nice.

I ordered the veggie waffles with chicken - YUM! Very unique - I don't think there's any other cafe they does veggie waffles! Chicken was nicely crumbed and the burnt butter sauce was O-M-G too good!
My friend ordered the beetroot salmon benedicts - looked very nice too, good paler option as the bread is replaced with veggie stack.
They serve atomic coffee which is all double shot regardless of size.

I would definitely come back again (ESP for the Friday 5-7pm $10 cocktails)!

Really nice atmosphere and lovely service however the food is not as good as we expect. I and my friend came three week ago we had one latte, ice coffee (junction special) and big breakfast (we share). The coffee is really delicious, hot and bitter. Their special ice coffee is weird because they put yogurt in the coffee but is not too bad.

The big breakfast came around 20 minutes. This is the first big breakfast I had was NO BUTTER comes with the toast (maybe the chef forgot put butter?). The portobello mushroom had no any flavor just like put the mushroom into boil water and then took them. The sausage is very oil that did not taste very good. I am so sorry to say that this is the worst big breakfast I had recently.

I like the decor of this restaurant and i appreciate theirs staff are really attentive and friendly. I still hope this restaurant will going very well in the future.

But it is worth?
For me probably not sorry.

Food: top quality food with beautiful presentation. Veggie waffles tasted amazing. Decent portion sizes but not too much that you walk out feeling stuffed.

Service: very good service, attentive waitresses but not pushy or too clingy!

Ambience: lovely location. The outside seating area is really lovely and has a nice view of Rangitoto.

Food Recommendation: Veggie Packed Waffles w Salmon

I would definitely come back here for lunch, and I reckon it would be a really nice place to come for drinks too - they have a happy hour woohoo!

Waitress here is totally unfocused, did not listen to coffee orders, and even after making sure the correct coffees are made, we did not receive what we had asked for. Gave up at this point, and noticed another table had similar poor service. Ended up going to "Fika with ME" for Brunch which was amazingly good!!

We had fantastic brunch, great coffee. The best Egg Benedict ever. Attention to details, beautiful presentation, and good hospitality. Bottom line "we love it".

Amazing views and great menu - some really different items. We had the Junction Benedict and it was delicious. Keen to go back and try the waffles! Great service too.

We only popped in for a take away coffee and pastry but we liked what we saw. The downstairs bit is a relaxed coffee/ breakfast shop and the upstairs looks like a bistro/ dining area. Industrial country chic I call it with amazing views. The coffee tasted great and pastries were fresh. We plan to make this our local coffee shop and will try it out for dinner soon.

The new store that popped out next to the newly opened walkway. Had a flatwhite here. Pretty decent taste & experience. You could feel the staff is new to the job, but they went the xtra mile to offer you water & asking how's your experience - something that leave a lasting impression. The view on the top floor is awesome!!! you get to see rangitoto & the cbd.

Came here with my partner and a couple of friends for dinner. Amazing food and good service. Would highly recommend a visit! Nice views out towards Takapuna and the CBD from the upstairs balcony area.
