Review Baker & Co. - Auckland Central

Just amazing how wonderful this store is! Its staff are super friendly and the coffee is wonderful! The sign outside easily is a warm welcoming!

Another deligthful local find,, the pancake was soooo light and fluffy with cinnamon butter (omg), and the corn fritters were really nice too. It's also a good quiet spot.

This is a great cafe. The food and coffee are of the chart excellent and the staff are super friendly and attentive. 👍🙂

We were recommended to go here by a friend who was raving about the delicious baked goods. We went there for lunch and unfortunately didn’t get to sample the baked goodies. Coffee is good (All Press), and we also ordered the soup (mushroom) and a veggie sandwich from the cabinet. The soup was surprisingly good, mushroom soup can be very hit and miss but this was very tasty. The sandwich was not for me. I didn’t like the soggy texture of the roasted veg (courgette/aubergine). We may need to return for some cake and coffee in the future 😊

AMAZING CAKE - looked beautiful, tasted incredible. Many comments from our guests saying it was the best cake they have ever had, the cake, caramel filling and icing were all delicious. I requested a custom design on top for my 2 year olds birthday which was exactly what I envisioned. I couldn't be happier. Highly highly recommend. Thank you!

I would recommend Baker & co to anyone wanting a beautiful wedding cake or a cake for a special occassion. Tasmyn was so helpful and the cakes are delicious! The best tasting in Auckland in my opinion. We used baker and co for our wedding on 25th March. Thank you so much Tasmyn. :) :D

Thank you again Tasmyn for the quick communication and making it easy to organise our bridal shower afternoon tea - even with a short timeframe! Tried Baker & Co. goodies at Vic Park Markets yesterday & they were delicious (gluten free carrot cake & a cookie). The owner is lovely, friendly service with a smile. I will definitely be getting some more treats at the next few markets & might have to check out the store too. Highly recommended. Thank you :)

A warm greeting as we collect our work Team lunch sets us all up for a great day. Hidden in the box we have been treated to an amazing selection to satisfy everyone - simply delicious and we appreciate the variety.

Love this cute little place! A favourite local of mine. The cakes, sweet treats and savouries are just to-die-for. I have ordered five cakes for birthdays and special occasions. Each time, I have been met with compliments about how amazing the cakes look and taste! Tasmyn is just the loveliest person. Always smiling and has time for her customers despite how busy she is. So glad to have this gem near my work. Thank you team x

Side note: I've ordered catering from here before and it was amazing. They catered for our dietary needs at the time for another event we were setting up close by. The staff were great and so was the food. I think the staff I experienced below may have been new as they didn't seem to be 100% sure what they were doing. Yesterday I went back to Baker & Co because I was apart of setting up an event for the evening close by. I ordered an "Almond Milk Iced Coffee Dairy Free" and a few other things for co-workers and left with the goods. When I finally sat down for lunch I had drank half of my Coffee out of a straw and suddenly got severe stomach pains and then realised there was a clump of ice-cream in the bottom of my drink when I had specified at the counter early I didn't want it sweet. I was so confused so rang the cafe to double check the ice-cream was also diary free.... The girl who picked up said "Oh i made it and that wasn't on the receipt so I didn't do it" *following silence on the phone because I didn't know what to say* & then she added "aww hope you'l be alright".... that was literally the end of the conversation. Of course I won't be alright? I don't go around ordering dairy free for and games? If a friend of mine (who also can't have dairy) had been made the same coffee and drank it she would have died? NOT cool � I was upset and so disappointed. I couldn't do my job properly for the rest of the day and although everybody felt bad for me and understood the pain I was in, I was embarrassed that I couldn't support our small team to set up such a big event to the best of my ability. I'm not somebody to write a review but I honestly felt like I needed to give all the Dairy Free people a heads up regarding the careless service.

Baker&Co has become part of my weekend routine. The donuts and cakes are to die for!

I cannot eat gluten and this is the most gluten free friendly cafe I’ve ever been to and all the food and desserts are delicious!

Adore Baker & Co! As a coeliac the range of GF baking is an absolute dream. Highly recommend the GF scones and caramel cashew slice. Staff are super sweet. SG has formerly loved the open chicken sandwich although on a recent visit it was slightly less good. Great coffee. Wonderful local cafe if you're in the eastern burbs.

Food is made with love and perfect if you have a sweet tooth. However would like it if there was more in the savoury range to choose from. Love the environment, it us rather modern yet simple.

Staff were amazing! I ordered a soy mocha and went to sit down. One of the lovely staff members came up to me to let me know the soy was a bad batch and she wasn’t happy serving it so she asked if I wanted almond milk instead which was fine. Food was amazing! I’m coeliac so normally when I walk in a cafe there is only 1-2 bland options but here there was plenty to choose from which made me so happy. I ended up getting the triple chocolate cheesecake and my partner got the pull pork sandwich. We both loved our food and our experience here. Definitely coming back

We absolutely love this place. The cakes are what keep us coming back, having become a staple for us for birthdays in the family. Would strongly recommend the blackberry, lime and mascarpone.

This place has become a regular for our family over the past year. Boy did this Glendowie/Glen Innes neighbourhood need a decent café, and Baker & Co has come to the rescue! The café itself is beautifully, if simply, decorated. Very comfortable and cosy. The coffee is consistently good, but the real stars are the cakes and pastries. I've tried so many - ginger slice, meringue, brownie, doughnuts etc - and not one has ever let me down. So delicious. And the kids love the homemade marshmallows that come with their fluffies. The breakfast menu is a little pricey, but again the food is delicious so we treat ourselves occasionally.  My only slight niggle is that some of the younger staff in the café could be a bit friendlier. But overall, highly recommend this place and hope it continues to do well as it's a great addition to the neighbourhood.

I wanted to grab a bite before work.<br/>The café is modern and clean with it's design and slightly feminine.<br/>The atmosphere is warm and calm; and in a good location, located off a busy road.<br/>The service was fast but could be improved, as the guy who served me just shrugged and grunted when he was serving me.<br/>The food looked beautiful and tasted delicious.<br/>I got their Salted Caramel filled Donut and Raspberry Cheesecake Brownie for $5 each; a bit on the pricey side as they were small. They had bags of flavour and were well balanced, not sickly sweet.<br/>I would come here again and try their drinks too.
