Review Sushi Pac - Auckland Central

Hanajan
Great service with truly fresh ingredients. I always grab some sushi when I take North Shore buses around lunch time. They provide great vatriety of sushi and this time I had salmon bowl which is absolutely delicious. Despite somehow too salty taste the veggies and raw salmon created a lovely combination. Nice place to go if you want to have a quick bite.

Great sushi joint located on the ground floor of a building off of queen street. Sushi pieces are great value for money when compared to the local competitors and are just as delicious. Service is also spot on and they are always happy to help you decide on sushi choices or something off of the in house menu.

pacs a punch greater than Pacquiao

Love the variety at this little place. Great for a quick lunch when you're on the go, even when there's a line out the door! Try the one on High St too. They have so many better options as opposed to white rice with mayo covered chicken, and their rice doesn't have sugar like St. Pierre's and other places do. Brown rice options available, as well as some other fun one's like beetroot rice, and a yummy mushroom one. I am not a vegetarian, but there are lots of options for those that are. They have a frequent user card that offers discounts, and the price is more than resonable. Staff is very friendly and works fast too.

Very friendly staff, clean and nicely themed restaurant and most importantly, awesome Sushi! Some of the best, if not THE best I've had. Huge variety as well and not expensive.

Hate that this sushi pac isn't open on the weekend as it's my favourite sushi place in the CBD! So much choice. Store is clean, staff are friendly, and 1/2 price after 4.30pm.
Sam Soo
One of the better sushi places in town. Decent prices and lots of options. They do a really good chicken one!
Anna Zhang
love their sushi so much! best sushi in town. but they close before 6, they said they close at 6 on google, but I went to their shop at 17:40, they already close, I was so disappointed
CF_J S
Easily one of the best sushi places in the town. The guy is super nice too.
Matthew Franks
One of the best Sushi places open in the CBD right now. Reasonably priced too. Plenty of seating.
abigael alexander
really great sushi, delicious, fresh, good variety, and really friendly staff
Andrew Robilliard
Definitely the best casual sushi place in Auckland. Interior was clean, the staff were friendly, and the sushi was great!
Rachel Auckland
Quickest lunch you can get! Best thing about this place is that you can select your own sushi.
Sandra L
Sushi is so yummy and fresh! Friendly staff and their BBQ Salmon Bowl is delicious!
Tom Starr
My favourite sushi place in Auckland. Fantastically consistent sushi, good, quick service, and happy smiley staff.
Alex Manson
Not a big fan of the tiny packets of wasabi and pickled ginger but their sushi is pretty decent !!
Nikki Thomas
My absolute 'go to' sushi place in Auckland, you can't get fresher ... that's why the queue is always so long (and they move super fast)! The food is fresh, decent size and very reasonably priced. Great service too. Keep doing what you're doing Sushi Pac!!
James Stebbing
Just always awesome!! Incredible fresh sushi with fresh ingredients! My staple on a saturday when I can get in the city!
Lin Amy
Freshest sushi in Auckland City, there is just something about sushi from Sushi Pac. Only criticism is is that stores have slight inconsistencies in terms of how much ingredients you get in your sushi. Usually on High Street the Teriyaki Avocado jumbo roll has a decent amount of avocado making it one of my favourite options, however the store off Queen Street hardly had any in its Teryikai "Avocado" jumbo roll.
Georgia Beasley
The most interesting, delicious sushi, and the staff are so friendly! Always reasonably priced too!
Célia Ville
My favourite place to eat Sushi in town staff are always friendly too!
Christopher Paul Tipper
The top place for not only Sushi, but other Japanese food's!

First of all, the sushi pac on Queen st are always the nicest, polite and friendly. But today due to some changes I went to the sushi pac on high street at Wednesday 27th April 5:15am, there was only one visible worker working at that moment, I went in and I felt she was really pissed that I walk in, so she throw the TA container behind the bar while I was looking. I asked her if there are certain sushi left since I'm not sure and she said yes there are, so few second later she ask me how many are you getting. And I reply erm Im still deciding. After she heard me she throw the tongs which you can hear the noise and her facial reaction was pissed. I was going to get some sushi, but after that I'm sorry but I won't be back again if you not willing to serve me as a customer.

Sorry phone played up

Amazing Flavour on the Sushi! Amazing Miso soup! Friendly Service! Convenient, awesome!
Jie Cincere Zheng
It's great..Even my husband who didn't like sushi before like their sushi..
Lei Lei
The best sushi you can buy from auckland city! Very tasty and fresh! Must check it out!

If Jie Ma owns this - it will taste great!

Consistently great sushi here. Find myself coming here about 1 or twice a week to get my fix. The location is right in the lobby of my work so it makes it super handy to get to. The spicy chicken sushi with the torched mayo is awesome!
The Poor Foodie
Food: 4/5
Service: 4.5/5
Service: 4.3/5

My favourite sushi place in cbd so far:) the rolled sushi is just $1.2 and there are a big variety of sushi and nigiri to choose from. I especially liked the mushroom rolled sushi. I like this branch more than the high street because it’s bigger and has seats. If you bring your own container to buy the sushi (over $6 order), you can get $.50 off!
Rosanne Choy
First time trying sushi pac. Usually don’t like avocado but this one was really nice in sushi. Beef sushi was real tender and juicy. Miso soup was $1 and had fish in it! This store is good for people who want to eat a variety of sushi.
Food 24/7
I make special trips to the city and only to this Sushi Pac branch whenever I have the day off! Best value for money. Fresh, tasty and of-course decent size when you get there early
RL.P
i love that Sushi Pac gives you the option to mix & match sushi, instead of selling by pack . It works out better value for money, quality & wide range to choose from. Definitely prefer them over St Pierres.
Its Me
I personally think this gotta be the best sushi pac compare to the other ones they have ! They male it so tasty and clean and their filling portion is always way bigger than other places! I think for to go place they got the best sushi here (if you are just looking for lunch not the fancy jap style dinner lol )
Annie Wilson
Cheap delicious sushi! I like how we can't grab our own but need to be serviced as I feel like it's better sanitary that way! They have a wide range to choose from and seating to sit.
Hotdog&Buns
Great variety of sushi. They offer all kinds of sushi rolls like cream cheese and chicken, beef, kumara and your typical salmon and avo. If you are feeling fancy they also offer them in brown rice or and with quinoa. Individual pieces costs from $1 to $1.5, but they are huge.

Their nigri selection is also wonderful, heaps to choose from, including eel and scallops! Sashimi tasted fresh and good quality. The price is friendly too!

Best valued price sushi i have seen so far. Skip the other places and come to this one!

Emma W
A colleague introduced me to this place and I have been missing out! I love being able to put together my own sushi selection instead of having six pieces all the same.

You mix and match and the price is still really reasonable. This is definitely my go to sushi place in the city now.
Jake Bartley
Love coming to this place! friendly environment and staff who always have a smile welcoming the customers! Well priced and you can choose a variety that is nice and fresh! Will always return!
Nashi Dasgupta
Very nice and tasty sushi at such cheap price. We love eating here, perfect for lunch. The place is convinient and has sitting area too.Quality and Taste is good and if you like sushi's then this place is recommended.
Jasmine Tay-Paepae
We come here often for lunch. The sushi is always fresh and a wide variety. My favourite is the tempura prawn sushi. The chicken katsu curry is really good as well. Friendly service.
Sian
Always wonderful sushi & friendly service. Well priced, good variety, nice & fresh. It's quite heavy on Mayo but has brown rice options. BBQ salmon is delicious
Sheiar Al Osachi
The best sushi in auckland and I'm not even over exaggerating. The staff are friendly. The food is fresh and great tasting. You can peak a bit of the kitchen and you can see how hard they work - and it shows in the food. They are generous with ingredients and best value for your money.
Mikayla Plaziuk
Really convenient location and seemed quite busy! Service was okay, the girl who served me took about 10 minutes and asked 3 people to figure out what to charge me for my pieces of sushi. But the sushi was fresh, yummy, so many options and really big portions!
Peanut
Heaps of choices + large + reasonable price + fresh = Happy customers! Come here often for quality sushi and the staffs are really helpful and friendly :)
Kirsten
This place is absolutely fantastic if you are wanting a good healthy lunch takeaway. Sushi is a really great part of Japanese cuisine since it's healthy and also very filling. The prices for the sushi are not that bad either! The staff are really nice, so I'll definitely come here again some time. Very pleased. Wish I took photos but unfortunately I ate all of my food!
Paul O
This branch has really gone downhill quickly. 11am and only a handful of pieces of (yesterday's?) sushi available. What was there was poorly made - the rice hadn't been seasoned correctly and some of the meat was fatty. Yuck. Not good at all. Prices continue to rise while portions get smaller and smaller

Out of the 3 Sushi Pacs in town, this is the only one with proper seating.

They've got a big range of sushi, but you have to get in there quick if you are going around lunch time. I've been here a few times, but unfortunately I was only able to land myself 2 pieces of the seared scallop ones last time. I would have gotten 6 if available!! That is the best.

They also have this HUGE salmon sushi that's got tuna in there too, wrapped around with rice on the outer layer and sesame. That one is really good too.
Shirley Yu
A great proportion of choices and the price is reasonable. I got four pieces of sushi and spent $5.5. The taste was good and I could choose the sauce I wanted. Nice place to grab for lunch as it was convenient.
Definitely came here next time!
Ed
Fantastic value when they're selling their sushi packs for $5 towards the evening.
Not much to criticise them on as they offer superb prices.

Food: 6.5/10
Service: 4/5
Ambience: 3/5
Value: 4/5
Overall: 17.5/25

My colleague A used to say, this place was the best sushi place in Auckland CBD. That's a major statement, right there. As a sushi fan, I found this place satisfying enough to accompany him regularly for our takeaway lunches. It's nice to have variety but not an overwhelming one, as sometimes you do in other places around town. I can think of two right now. Brown rice and gluten free choices seem to be the trendy options offered by sushi places these days, and Sushi Pac is one of them. I usually get a selection of salmon and tuna options with a cup of salmon miso soup. Omega 3 is meant to be good for you, haven't you heard?
Lisa V
My go to for sushi. This place is so good! Staff are polite and friendly, the service is quick and they never make a fuss if you ask for more ginger or soya sauce or anything. The sushi selection is extensive and includes vegetarian options and brown rice options. This place has so much to choose from sometimes it gets hard deciding but overall, there is something there for everyone.
Ryan
Sushi was really fresh. Much better than some of the other places in the city. Impressed with the large range of choice and the ability to pick single rolls and pieces. Will be back.
Annie Ren
Although I've eaten sushi a lot, I usually can't tell the difference between a good sushi and bad sushi. I tried Sushi Pac yesterday as I happened to walk in when they were doing their half-price sushis. Got all these for just $5, it was definitely a bargain! I liked their variety and the combination of meat and different type of veges. Looking forward to try more next time!
Tian Tian Zhang
Love their special half price deals after 4:30! It is a gem place tucked away behind the Body Shop on Queen Street. I wouldn't have wandered in if I wasn't taken by my friend, but they have good quality sushi and quite a wide selection.
FlyingMonkey
One of my favorite sushi places in the city. They make really good sushi that DONT BREAK. Good quality/value for the price, specially the temaki rolls. Very fast and friendly staff. Good selections of sushi.
Che-ming Chang
generous amounts of fillings and friendly staff. their mayo range is guiltily fulfilling. probably the first place I think of for fast-food style sushi in Auckland city. nice variety but slightly more expensive than other fast food sushi brands. If you don't like the bland and dried up taste of st Pierre sushi and have a few extra dollars this is the place to go.
Maria Carmela
So, so delicious. They have such a wide range of flavours and types of sushi, every single one of them being a delight to eat. My personal favourites are the scallop and salmon nigiri. Not to mention each leftover piece of sushi is made half price after 4.30pm - but don't get put off by the word "leftover", they still taste as good as they should. The curries are also worth the $7 you pay for - they make for a filling and tasty meal.

Having been here a number of times, the staff are always friendly and have even started to recognise me as a familiar face.

Most definitely recommend Sushi Pac over Smart Sushi, Umiya Sushi and (especially) St. Pierre's.
Vivek
After reading lot of reviews , I finally decided to try out this place. I must say the sushi that they prepare is very different from St. Pierre or Uni sushi. Even at 5:30 PM in the evening the sushi was so fresh and rice was not stale.

The quality of the chicken, tuna and salmon used is very good as one can tell by just smelling it. The wasabi is grinded well so it tastes very well. The staff is also helpful
I would like to visit again and again to this busy shop!!
Bobby Anderson
Fresh sushi with generous fillings. Lots of variety. Fav are Spicy Chicken, Grilled scallops, teriyaki beef, salmon&avo/cream cheese. NB: Durham St branch lets you pick your own. Price has gone up, used to frequent more when the pieces were $1.

If you're in the mood for sushi then sushi pac is definitely a must try. Tucked away in a corporate looking building. The restaurant is very tidy with a sleek glass wall design and simplistic wooden furniture. I was greeted with a smile as I entered. The selection of food was exceptional and all looked very well made. Very low prices for the quality and quantity. Definitely a must if youre in the area.

Sushi PAC is a nice place to visit...What makes them stand out are their final touches (read designs) on the sushi's...they are really attractive and catchy... Food does not lack in taste either..there are lots of options to choose from and are they quite cheap as well... A definite visit for people craving sushi..

Love this place. Great value, fresh and delicious. Highly recommended. Personally, I still prefer Japanese style sushi, so I was so happy when I found Sushi Pac.

Each piece of sushi has a lot of fillings, unlike some sushi places where sushi is filled with a lot of rice and only tiny bit of fillings in the middle.

Service is excellent. There isn't anything bad to say about this place, it's definitely worth a try :)
Cristina
Great value, super nice staff the only place that I know that does cheese rolls! 2 kinds of miso - vegetarian and shrimp both delicious and starting at $1 plus other dishes and there are also bento boxes that are also great taste and value, done to order in short time.
May Wang
Obsessed with Sushi Pac! I love the BBQ scallop, spicy crayfish, and the spicy tuna. The food is always fresh and the staff are always greeting with a smile.

Miles better than St Pierre's - highly recommended.
Dog Eats World
This has to be the best place to go to get the best sushi in town. They have multiple shops in the cbd, and the two that I've been to are equally as good. The sushi is super cheap but that does not mean the taste is compromised. The staff are really really friendly and polite and always greet you with a smile. There is a heaps of sushi to choose from, so most people will find something they love. Definitely check this place out if your looking for good sushi. Woof.
